When he catches you breaking a rule, and you suddenly shrink into a mouse out of fear, he goes redder than his own dorm’s color scheme. “This isn’t in the rule book!” he shouts, trying to keep a straight face while pointing at your tiny, squeaking form. "Get back here! I wasn’t that scary!"

Ace Trappola:

"This is hilarious!" Ace cackles when you transform into a chicken after a jump scare prank he pulls. "Every time you freak out, I’m gonna get free eggs!" He starts carrying around a list of emotions and their potential animal counterparts just to mess with you. He’s particularly fond of when you turn into something inconvenient at the worst moments.

Deuce Spade:

He panics when you become a snake after he accidentally insults you. "W-Wait, I didn’t mean to offend you! I swear I respect you!" Deuce waves his arms frantically, but the snake version of you doesn’t look impressed. Eventually, he ends up apologizing to a tree you slithered up, hoping for forgiveness.

Cater Diamond:

"Oh my Sevens, this is prime Magicam content!" Cater says, snapping pictures every time you transform. “You’re a walking meme factory!” He probably starts a hashtag dedicated to your transformations: #EmoshiftGoals. No matter the situation, he’s there to document your form, even if you’re a giant octopus stuck in a doorway.

Trey Clover:

Trey is unphased, which only makes it worse. "You’re a dragon, huh? Well, would you still like some pastries?" He offers you a cupcake while you’re snarling as a massive fire-breathing lizard. Somehow, his calm demeanor just makes you feel more ridiculous, and you shapeshift back out of sheer embarrassment.

Leona Kingscholar:

He’s absolutely done with it when you shapeshift into something large and ridiculous, like a lion that rivals him in size. "Seriously? That’s how you deal with anger?" he mutters, throwing an arm over his eyes and turning away. “You’re going to destroy the dorm, herbivore. Quit roaring at me before I kick you out.”

Ruggie Bucchi:

Ruggie sees dollar signs whenever you transform. “Yo, if you turn into a rare animal, I can sell tickets!” He’s already plotting ways to exploit your shapeshifting for his own gain, offering to “protect” you in exchange for some madols. You’re too busy struggling not to turn into a weasel from frustration.

Jack Howl:

He respects your ability, but he’s mildly concerned when you shift into a rhino after a workout, clearly overwhelmed by how sore you are. "Hey, I get the effort, but don’t take down the gym equipment with your horns," Jack warns, not knowing how to help while you smash everything in sight. It’s all part of “getting swole,” right?

Azul Ashengrotto:

He’s actually kind of jealous of your ability. When you transform into something like a Medusa during a heated negotiation, Azul’s glasses slip down his nose. “Let’s keep calm, shall we?” he says nervously, trying to maintain his cool. He starts drafting up a contract for your transformation abilities, hoping to exploit your forms to boost the Monstro Lounge’s appeal.

Jade Leech:

Fascinated. When you shift into a giant squid out of excitement for finding a rare mushroom with him, Jade’s eyes gleam with interest. “How intriguing... I wonder if your emotions could inspire even rarer forms.” He offers you “stimulating” experiences to study your shapeshifting, but he’s just looking for an excuse to see your dragon form again.

Floyd Leech:

He’s your biggest fan. Every time you shift into something, Floyd is there, demanding to “see the big one” — aka your dragon form. “Come on, let me fight ya while you’re a dragon! It’ll be fun!” You’d think being a massive fire-breathing lizard would scare him, but nope. He’s more excited.

Kalim Al-Asim:

Kalim finds your ability endlessly fun. “Whoa, you’re a parrot now! That’s amazing!” He just claps and laughs every time you transform, not even fazed when you accidentally turn into a giant elephant during a banquet. “This is the best party ever!” He starts planning parties around your emotions just to see what you turn into next.

Jamil Viper:

Jamil’s patience is tested when you shapeshift into an overly dramatic form every time you get slightly annoyed. You turn into a cobra when he criticizes your cooking, and he sighs, rubbing his temples. "I don’t have time to deal with this. Can’t you at least stay human for five minutes?" You hiss in reply.

Vil Schoenheit:

Vil’s irritation reaches an all-time high when he realizes you can shapeshift into ethereal, otherworldly beings, making even him feel average. The moment you turn into an angelic being, radiating beauty, he stares in stunned silence before murmuring, "I’m not envious... but perhaps you could tone it down? You’re stealing the spotlight."

Rook Hunt:

Obsessed. Rook is utterly captivated by your ability and considers it a masterpiece of emotional expression. "Magnifique!" he exclaims every time you transform, sketchbook in hand. He spends hours praising your forms in flowery French, even when you’re just a tiny bunny hiding in a corner from Vil’s glare.

Epel Felmier:

Epel is torn between awe and jealousy when you become a giant bear in a fit of anger. “Dang it, I wanna be that big!” He tries to rile you up just to see your more fearsome forms, hoping to get some tips on how to be more intimidating. When you become a giant stag beetle, he’s both inspired and a little scared.

Idia Shroud:

Idia’s both fascinated and terrified by your shapeshifting. “You’re basically a walking, talking MMORPG character with transformation hacks,” he mutters, eyes wide as you morph into a Cerberus when angry. He pulls out his tablet, muttering, "Okay, let’s not piss them off anymore, or it’s game over for me."

Ortho Shroud:

Ortho, on the other hand, is super excited about your ability. “Brother! They’ve turned into a griffin! How cool is that?” He scans you with his sensors and starts rattling off facts about your transformations like a walking encyclopedia. He keeps asking for data on each shift, even if you’re currently a three-headed dog chewing through a chair.

Malleus Draconia:

Malleus is unsurprisingly unfazed. “Ah, you’ve become a dragon,” he muses when you turn into a fearsome beast out of fury. "How... nostalgic." He gives you pointers on how to properly roar and fly, treating your transformation as a normal Tuesday. “Let me know if you’d like some pointers on being a more regal dragon.”

Lilia Vanrouge:

Lilia finds it hilarious when you shapeshift uncontrollably. "Ah, such youthful vigor!" he says, clapping as you morph into a bat out of anxiety. He starts comparing your forms to his own transformations, occasionally pranking you just to see what you’ll turn into. When you become a spider, he dangles from the ceiling, poking fun at your eight legs.

Sebek Zigvolt:

Sebek yells in disbelief whenever you turn into anything he deems less than “worthy.” “You turned into a sheep? Preposterous! That’s no form for someone in the presence of Lord Malleus!” But when you shift into a dragon, he practically throws himself at your feet. “At last! A proper transformation!”

Silver:

Silver just... naps through most of your transformations. You could be a raging tiger, and he’d probably sleep through it. When he wakes up and finds you in some new form, he just rubs his eyes and says, “Oh, you’re a phoenix now? That’s cool,” before falling asleep again.

Crowley: "This is a rare magical ability!" Crowley says, trying to use your talents to bolster the school's reputation. He wants you to shapeshift during big events, but every time you’re stressed, you turn into a giant tortoise and refuse to move. He’s not thrilled.

Trein: He lectures you on controlling your emotions to prevent transformations, but even he’s secretly amused when you turn into a kitten after falling asleep in his class. He just sighs and lets you nap on the desk.

Crewel: When you shift into a ferocious wolf during an argument, Crewel just nods approvingly. "Good, good. Use that tenacity!" He’s secretly proud of your feral forms but won’t admit it outright.

Vargas: “A shapeshifter, huh?” Vargas immediately makes you part of every athletic event, hoping you’ll turn into something big and fast. When you become a cheetah, he practically cheers. “That’s what I like to see! Speed and power! Keep it up!" He starts using your transformations as a benchmark for the rest of the class, causing you to shift into an armadillo out of sheer stress from his overenthusiasm.

Rollo Flamme:

Rollo: He tries to maintain his usual calm and collected demeanor, but every time you shapeshift into something bizarre like a raven when you’re feeling anxious around him, he gets increasingly frustrated. “This is not an excuse for chaos,” he mutters through gritted teeth. But when you morph into a seraphim in a fit of anger, glowing and majestic, Rollo's attitude shifts to discomfort mixed with awe. “We need... order, not divine intervention.”

I mentioned in a previous ask that while I don't have current plans on writing another full length SKZ fanfic, I will do one-shots and/or a short series. And I'm open to asks/prompts/suggestions.

Outside of that, I intend to work on some original stories, too. In part, due to all the encouraging words I received from you guys. They touched a special place in my heart that has doubted myself for too long.

I'm considering turning The SKZ House into an original story with new characters, but same plot, as well as the incomplete Summer in Seoul. If you're interested in being notified of when that happens (self publishing and paying for a professional editor will be a nightmare but I'm determined to get through it), let me know and I'll keep you posted!

I do have a favor to ask regarding that, though. If you guys could kindly drop some of your favorite scenes from The SKZ House in a comment/ask/DM, I'll love you forever (I already do, tho). Batfam members and what they’d get cancelled for/their apology

Just watched ItalianBach’s youtuber apology tier list video and inspiration STRUCK.

Bruce: there are SOOOOOO many things. So so so many things. He has been cancelled so many times that there is a blog dedicated to keeping track of BW apologies. the user is probs something like bruceissosorryagain. Personal favorite was when he ruined a pretty popular and well liked socialite by knocking over a champagne tower directly onto her great grandmother’s wedding gown. For some god foresaken reason the champagne had been dyed red to match the victorian vampire aesthetic of the wedding?? The hashtag “BWmeetscarrie” will forever haunt wayne manor.

Dick: He was literally a cop in 2020. his goose was GOT. He was trying to prove that not all cops are bad by posting to that macklemore song with the little black fist painted on his cheek and BLM on the other. u know the one. It didn’t go over very well. Even macklemore commented “c’mon bro..” This was followed by a 45 minute long apology video explaining how he now understands the harm it can cause to lump all marginalized groups into one category and how he regrets his action severely and yada yada yada hes so sorry, at the end there was a 2 minute long acrobatic performance to the song Nina Cried Power by Hozier. He also donated to several black charities following the whole ordeal. Didn’t leave his house for a week.

Jason: Ran a rage bait account on tiktok when he was like 13-15 where he posted cringe alpha sigma male mogging content, and someone somehow found out it was him, and his apology wasn’t so much an apology as much as it was “I’m sorry you were stupid enough to believe the bs I was posting, and I’m sorry i got caught. Fuck you guys btw now I have to find a new hobby 👎🏽.” The videos are still saved to his phone when he needs a good chuckle.

Tim: Said BTS was ass and BP was even worse (he tweeted it out of boredom, knowing it was gonna be bad, but not knowing exactly how bad). Armies and blinks tried to dox him MUTIPLE times but tim keeps it on lock so his info was safe. There was a boycott for WE so Bruce made him post and official apology. It was half assed and there are kpop accounts to this day that say “Fuck tim drake” in their bio. Either that or he got “cancelled” on some Jynxzi stuff. Like the whole situation to a T. Maybe both are true. He also had a ukelele in his apology vid.

Damian: called an old lady a “stupid ugly stinky bitch” on national television because she “asked father too many questions.” (it was an interview) Jaws were dropped. Nay, jaws were dislocated. Damian was too young at the time to have social media, let alone post his own apology, so bruce did it for him and sent that poor old lady a lot of cash.

Duke: Unironically said “if it’s snowing I’m not going.” the dudebros thought that shit was hilarious. No one else laughed. Duke was serious, but he felt so bad about offending people that there were tears in the apology. At least thats the story he’s currently running with.

Cass: A video of her saying the F slur surfaced. Her apology was her coming out.

Steph: Said something offensive without realizing it and didnt know what she did until she tweeted saying “why is everyone being so wierd around me?? did I do something wrong??” everyones response is either “girl please bffr” or genuine actually helpful input. She apologized less than a day later in a quick and concise apology vid.

Barbara: compared herself to marsha P johnson in an interview and when she was asked to elaborate she simply could not. The truth is, she had no idea who that woman was other than the fact that she was a good, cool woman so she was like yea omg im so her. Her apology was also a mini documentary about Marsha P Johnsons life.

And not only finding out he's one of the main leads but also finding out it was about a pseudo romantic, gay, angel/demon, gay, relationship was just the icing on the cake! (Aziraphale's cake? 😏)(forgive me, im insane)

Truly, if it weren't for David being apart of this series I may have never found Good Omens, nor be as invested as I am now. Thanks to him, I've been able to find this wonderful fandom, and the wonderful people behind it, such as artist, writers, bloggers... but I'm getting ahead of myself, I'll leave that for another day :)

16. Homelander x Hughie, Mistakenly assumed to be gay

After hashtag #Homelight airs, and Annie, Homelander and Hughie have that tense exchange in her Vought tower apartment, Hughie gets worried about Annie, and rather than just fucking off to Russia, decides to meet with HL without her to negotiate that the FBSA will lay off investigating Vought and Hughie won’t go out in public with Annie when she’s recognizably Starlight in exchange for HL not fucking with her and keeping the PDA to a minimum. He arranges to meet HL in a public place (for safety). HL is amused by the entire notion that Hughie has anything of interest to him that he can leverage and agrees to meet for what, in his mind, is a complete joke of a negotiation.

What neither of them anticipates is how much public and pap attention they end up attracting when they meet in public. What was going to be a quick conversation in Washington Square Park suddenly becomes tabloid gossip fodder for why Homelander is meeting Starlight’s ex in front of a fountain, and quickly devolves into juicy gossip that all three are involved in a ménage a trois or something equally bohemian. #Homelightbell starts to trend more than the original, Vought-approved hashtag.

HL is really annoyed when he realizes this rumor has gone viral and wants to clarify to the press, but the Vought PR team advises that it’s best not to acknowledge even knowing about the rumors by denying them. Meanwhile, the Boys find this turn of events absolutely hilarious and Billy is determined that Hughie needs to capitalize on this by threatening to fan the flames of the rumors unless HL keeps his hands off of Annie. Hughie isn’t particularly looking to incense HL, but he does get bolder about visiting Vought Tower and spending nights there with Annie. HL gets fed up with these power plays from a puny mudperson though, and one night just waltzes in through the door while they’re having sex. He thinks he’s going to stand there and make them uncomfortable but Annie is also fed up and tells him to leave, since he’s too straitlaced to join in. HL’s like… “what if I do join in”, and Hughie’s kind of terrified and questions why Annie even brought that up as an option, and Annie’s like “Because I’m sick of both of you trying to decide things behind my back and doing your stupid little power games over me!”. … and a very weird sex scene ensues that nobody wanted but both men deserve.

i am generally ignoring the current season of Doctor Who but this is too bizarre and too funny not to post about.

At around midnight Mountain Time (so about the time the latest episode began streaming in North America on Disney+), X/Twitter in its "Trending in Canada" sidebar (obviously for users in Canada) showed about 7,000 hits for the doctorwho hashtag. Pretty low if you ask me, but whatever.

So I go to bed. I wake up and hop on X/Twitter to find DW has been pushed off the Trending in Canada list already and instead, with 16,000 tweets (that was at 8 am; as I type this it's about 4:30 p.m. and it's up to 21,500), one of the top trenders in Canada was now a hashtag related to a sex toy. I'm not sure what's up - either those who hashtag it may be eligible for a discount, or apparently if you use the hashtag it somehow activates said sex toy. (I never imaged they'd be wi-fi connected; bluetooth maybe for remote controls, but wi-fi?) I'm not really inclined to find out - it's more fun guessing. I won't name the brand here as this is not that kind of a blog and I'm probably walking the line just using the phrase "sex toy". The name starts with L, I'll leave it at that.

Anyway, this is not a knock on current Doctor Who - I'm not watching so I have no horse in that race - but the fact it was pushed off the top trenders in Canada list after a few hours by some promotion involving a sex toy is just hilarious. I'd be laughing even if we were back in the Capaldi days.

BUCKLE UP. This is really hard, because several do live in my mind ALL THE TIME. My IG bestie @cinnamoncoffees has written YR & RWRB fics (some FOR me & others I’ve helped with), but this one is sooo good. I think it’s her best. It’s a vampire au and I don’t particularly like vampires necessarily but it is soooo good. Did I mention how good it is? 😋 A SLIGHTLY HYSTERICAL VAMPIRE FANTASY MOMENT. 🧛🏼‍♂️

RWRB fic: you may know my lovey @cheesecurdsgravyandfries as the writer of extremely hot, explicit RWRB & SCHITTS CREEK fics, but did you also know she is hilarious and sweet? I don’t completely know why, but I’ll never forget this adorable and clever stripper au told from Henry’s dog’s perspective. THE GOODEST BOY, HIS HENRY, AND THE OTHER GUY. 🥹 (Fun fact: this is the only G rated fic in my list.) 😏

RWRB+: I’ve got lots more RWRB favorites, but this list of fics-that-live-rent-free-in-my-mind would be incomplete without @everwitch-magiks’ HASHTAG SOULMATES. This beauty is a fan fic must-read. It combines the best of rwrb’s contemporary lgbtq fiction and all the romance tropes. Genius. 🪐

this is set in-canon, specifically in the back half of episode 10 pre-protest. i think there's room to imagine a few extra days of secret boyfriends akkaye, and if there isn't, too bad, i want to. nearly 1k again bc it got out of hand

The days between their first suspicions that the protest will be outside school and that weekend are tense. Very few people are acknowledging it out loud for fear of retribution; only in closed meetings and on social media does anyone dare to say anything at all is going on. Just another invisible threat to hang over all their heads. 

Akk leaves an after-school meeting with a frown on his face, stopping in an-abandoned-at-this-time hall outside the student affairs office to check over the hashtags. He’ll probably get away with being seen using his phone if he just says he’s doing his duty, but he doesn’t want to bet on it. 

So it’s understandable that he’s on edge enough to make an undignified shrieking noise when he's grabbed by the wrist and pulled around a corner into a smaller, connecting hallway. 

"Ayan," he hisses, because who else could it be?

Grinning, Aye runs a thumb over Akk’s pulse point before dropping his wrist in favor of leaning against the wall next to him, looking up through his eyelashes. He’s in his usual sweatshirt and somehow looks just as put-together as always despite it. “You know you’re not supposed to be using that, head prefect," he says, voice only slightly lowered in deference to their location. 

"What do you want," Akk demands in a whisper, checking back and forth down the hall. No one's here, but that doesn't mean anything; it may be after classes, but there are still staff and other students with late clubs around who might easily pass through here. He straightens his back nervously.

"To see my boyfriend," Aye says innocently.

That word still sounds so strange and precious coming out of his mouth. Akk rallies after a second. "You saw me in class multiple times today. Try again."

"To really see you," Aye amends, tilting his head coyly and reaching out to flip the hem of Akk's uniform jacket between his fingers. Something seems to shift in his face when he adds, "You look stressed, Bigfoot."

Akk's jaw clicks, and he sighs, leaning back against the wall too. The brick is uncomfortable even through the layers of his clothes, and he wants to reciprocate, to mess with Aye's hair or tell him the whole horrible truth or hold his hand, but the hall is only so empty for so long. "You always say that."

"You always look stressed. Can't I worry?"

He wishes he wouldn't. It's too much, sometimes, the guilt of it. "I'm fine, Aye."

Aye's dark eyes, always too-seeing, follow him as he shifts uncomfortably where he stands. “I don’t believe you,” he says quietly. 

Closing his eyes to get away from that look, Akk lets himself be honest: “I don’t expect you to.”

A hand brushes his for a second, warm and familiar, and then two hands take his face between them and squeeze. “Stop that,” Aye says as Akk’s eyes fly open and he jerks away. “You look like Singto when the treats run out.”

Akk has no idea what his expression is doing, but it must be hilarious, because Aye snickers unashamedly at him. "That's a better face."

Without much success, he tries to stop the corners of his mouth from curving up. He’s always at least a little out of control around Aye, honestly, and it should scare him even more than it already does, but— when Aye’s smile looks like that, all bright and teasing and blinding, what can he do? What could anyone expect him to do?

"And that's even better," says Aye, tone self-satisfied. "Show me that all the time, okay?"

"Shut up," Akk grumbles, the effect ruined by his obvious grin. He puts a hand up and actively pulls the corners of his mouth down.

"Don't think I will," Aye tells him, eyes sparkling. "The results are just so good. You're so cu--"

Akk takes the hand at his own face and slaps it over Aye's mouth, finally managing a proper glare. "Don't," he says pointedly. "I'm not."

Aye raises both eyebrows and wiggles them obnoxiously.

"You are very much the only person that thinks that," Akk tells him. He's surprised Aye hasn't licked his hand yet. "Most people actually take me seriously, you know. You could do that too. It wouldn't even be hard."

Aye says something muffled that sounds suspiciously like you don't want me to, and Akk rolls his eyes, laughing a little. "You're too full of yourself, really. You—"

Over Akk’s fingers, Aye's eyes go comically wide, and he shifts enough to slap his own hand over Akk's mouth just as the sounds of footsteps pass them in the connecting hallway, the murmur of a conversation identifying the people having it as teachers heading towards the offices.

Both of their hands over each other's mouths, their gazes lock for a long moment as the sounds fade away. Akk doesn't even breathe as Aye's fingers shift.

When it's quiet again, they both drop their hands, staring.

Then Aye cracks, his lips twitching, and Akk stifles a laugh of combined relief and sympathy with all his strength in turn, face scrunching up as he shakes his head. So stupid, and so close to being caught. He even still has his phone in his hand. He’s about to murmur something along those lines when his entire train of thought is derailed. 

Aye brings the hand he'd used to cover Akk’s to his own mouth and silently presses two fingers to it in a smiling kiss. When all Akk can do is stare, transfixed, he draws a little closer and whispers, “You can have a real one if you let me walk you to your dorm.”

Like I want that, Akk wants to say, to fend off the way they both know he does. He shakes his head, ruefully this time. “We shouldn’t leave at the same time,” he says very softly, an apology. “I’ll — see you later?” 

Aye’s smile goes a little plastic for a moment, pained, but he doesn’t push it. “I’ll call you. It’s a promise.”

CATS Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre - Hudson, FL (with Pics)

Thanks to Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre for renting our set and having us for the past two weeks in the Junkyard. It's always a delight working with Chaz, and we got to know an incredible cast and crew. I'm not sure how many hashtags I can use so I am going to include the cast list here for pics that arrive since all of you are so talented at Tumblr (the cast is so intrigued by Superfans, btw!)

We had many challenges with a dinner theatre because the stage is very small in order to accommodate tables. As well, actors serve patrons so I needed to design an outfit to protect the costumes and suspend disbelief. And from patron reactions, we've been told this is one of the best openings, if not the best opening, and the best show/costume the theatre has had to date and hoped we'd be back, which was very, very kind of them.

Mungojerrie/Macavity split track, played by Andre Spathelf-Sanders and yeah, this jerk who keeps showing up. I adore the whole cast to bits truly but we're planning on cosplaying Green Lantern together and he was the first to get my "Archer" references in the make up classes. If it's ever of interest, I'm happy to sometime talk about my make up classes and what to do when there are "mistakes" with what I call the Bob Ross Method.

Demeter by Iraya Catalina is making an argument that maybe all Demeters need to be Filipino because she slays!

Jennyanydots and her incredibly supportive husband. She was one of the most delightful people to work with, hilarious, fun, loving, amazing hugs, and just a joy. I've never had a Jenny almost refuse to take the Gumbie suit off (which is a huge compliment). What a joy.

David was the make up designer for all of the designs except Bombalurina's, and I taught about 5-hours of make up classes.

The magic of an incredible LED screen came into play as there were cool effects, such as a first person POV of a cat going to the junkyard (bringing YOU into the show) and the sky changing with the hours of the day, the moon, everything. The lighting designer Dalton Hamilton was wonderful and provided the following photographs. All costumes designed/created by David and myself (The Costume Asylum/Siegert Creative):

I am going to try to get some rehearsal pics and one of the funniest bloopers ever but I hope this is a nice start. Happy Sunday, I'm happy to be home, but I miss these kitties so much already!

as for your question, im actually not very big on christmas movies, but here are some that are very dear to me and that i end up watching every year:

home alone and home alone 2. THEE CHRISTMAS MOVIES OF ALL TIME. A HOLIDAY STAPLE. maybe im cheating by putting both of them together, but when i was a kid (and here im gonna show how truly old am i) we had them on video tape and we would always watch them on christmas day one right after the other. if i had to choose tho, i think i'd pick home alone 2. i know it's not as good as the first one, but for some reason it's always been very comforting to me (and i always dearly loved pigeon lady).

tokyo godfathers. i stumbled upon this movie completely by accident in my late teens when i was very into animanga and it immediately became one of my favorites. it's about 3 homeless people (a former drag queen, a runaway teen, and a grumpy alcoholic) who find a baby in a dumpster and try to reunite it with its family. it’s got humor, it’s got heart, it's about chosen and blood family, and most of all it's both very human and very magical.

klaus. it's the most recent movie in this list and consequently the one that has less sentimental value, but in such a short time it has become very important to me. it's hilarious, heartwarming and one of the most comforting movies i've ever seen. to quote klaus, "one true, selfless act always sparks another." that's the true spirit of the holidays to me and how i strive to live my life.

trading places. so fun fact.. here in italy our national television has been airing this movie on christmas eve every single year without fail since - i kid you not - 1997. i was 6 years old at the time. i am now 32. i spent 26 years of my life watching trading places on christmas eve. what i was doing yesterday evening? watching trading places. and just like me, so was every single italian out there. it doesn't even matter if we like it or not, that's not the point, it's just become tradition like setting up the christmas tree and it's the only certainty we have left in this country: on christmas eve we watch trading places (hashtag just italian things).

the santa clause. this is another movie that used to air a lot around the holidays when i was a kid. i've never particularly cared about it, but my mom ADORED this movie and she always put it on while cooking for christmas. once i got older enough to help her in the kitchen, it still kept us company in the background as we worked, so i inevitably ended up growing fond of it and it's one of those movies that to this day i make sure to find the time to watch with my mom every year.
