That's very subjective!

For me personally, I'm totally fine with how it's played out. We get enough tidbits every season/developments with their dynamic that I'm pretty content. I also just think that when the time comes, how they choose to reveal that information to us (and especially to MK) will have optimal impact!

i'll share this bit from a fic i started back in october & need to return to:

“Is that the Angel Dust, alone at a party?” Husk has a drink in Angel’s hand in less than a minute, as if he’d been waiting. Angel takes it graciously.  “Not anymore.” Angel leans one elbow on the bar, resting his cheek on his hand. “Have I missed anything good?”  Just as Husk opens his mouth to answer, another demon down the bar is shouting for his attention. He gives Angel a short apology before moving away, and Angel tries not to feel disappointed. This is his job after all, and tonight the hotel is bustling with activity.  “Mammon and Asmodeus almost threw hands over some salsa,” a voice says from Angel’s right. He doesn’t realize the voice is speaking to him until it continues, “It’s not that juicy, but I bet they’ll have it out before the end of the night. Especially if Mammon keeps throwing back all that beelzejuice.”  When Angel finally turns to see the owner of the voice, he’s surprised by the familiar face. Well, vaguely familiar. He’s used to a much more robotic version of the imp, who’s now leaning over the bar and stretching an arm all the way across to snag a bottle off the back shelf.  “That’s a neat trick,” Angel comments. Fizzarolli looks over at Husk, in the middle of mixing a drink for another demon.  “He’s busy. I can serve myself.” Fizz twists the top off the bottle and takes a swig. Interesting, Angel thinks.  “So, Asmodeous and… Mammon, you said? Lust and Greed? They usually butt heads at these things, or…?” Angel probes.  “No. They’re fighting over me.” Fizz punctuates his statement with another swig.  “You?” Angel frowns, then remembers one of Valentino’s weird-ass, drunken rants from a few months ago. “Ohh, shit, that's right. You –”  “Fizzarolli.”  “Yeah, I know. I mean, ‘cause of the… bots, or whatever. Uhm, I’m Angel.”  “Yeah, I know,” Fizz says, and Angel is taken aback by his own surprise. He’s no stranger to being recognized, but he realizes he wasn’t expecting to be recognized tonight. Fizz must read something on his face, because he continues, “Your face is all over the Lust Ring. And Ozzie has been… keeping tabs on your boss.”  That surprises Angel, too. “On Valentino?”  “Oh yeah, he hates that guy.” Angel lets out a laugh, tries to cover it with a cough, but fails. After another drink, Fizz tips the bottle toward Angel. An offering. Angel glances at his half-full glass on the bar top, but accepts the bottle from Fizz’s hand.

Helluva Boss Episode 5 thoughts

Since I’ve ranted/talked on Helluva Boss before and I’ve looked through the Helluva Boss critical tag often, I thought “Hey, why not continue?” Short version: I give the episode a 7/10. Better than episodes 4 and even 3, but still it could’ve been better.

Long version: SPOILERS AHEAD!

1. The animation is obviously more choppy than previous episodes, I’ve heard that SpindleHorse is on a much tighter budget now, but the choppiness kinda hurts to watch. I’ll give credit where credit is due, and say that some animation with Striker was rather great, especially with that last shot of him. But I’ve seen people on Youtube call this episode cleany animated already and question whether or not we watched the same thing.

2. Stolas’ and Blitzo’s relationship is rather uncomfortable. Stolas constantly makes sexual remarks at Blitzo even in public, he gives him no choice to have sex with him in exchange for running his business when legit he could be doing anything else as payment, and Blitzo clearly doesn’t want anything to do with Stolas otherwise, even having an alarm button for him at the HQ.

Usually I dislike the “Oh you would praise/hate this character for their actions if they were THIS gender!” excuse because bad writing is bad writing. But I feel that if Blitzo was a girl and the relationship with Stolas played out the same way it does, it would become less funny and more creepy to more people, as well as spawn much less fan art. Just because it’s a guy getting uncomfortable or that it’s a same sex relationship doesn’t mean it’s ok!

3. Though Blitzo is still unlikeable as hell. Him bullying Moxxie when he’s obviously saddened or anxious has made me continue to wish for his ass-kicking.

4. The show has remembered that Millie cares about her husband again, but I wish she’d stand up more to Blitzo. If she won’t, I’d like a reason for why. Perhaps it’s because she’s worried on getting fired for too much backtalk?

4. Moxxie once again gets abuse he doesn’t deserve, but it’s good that he got an episode ending that wasn’t him mentally or physically hurt, even if Episode 4 made me dislike him.

5. I do like Striker! His design is a neat change of pace from all the overly red imps, and I like the cowboy aesthetic. Also he’s voiced by Norman Reedus like what? How did they manage to get him?

He kinda reminds me of Rattlesnake Jake from Rango, albeit way less cool.

6. I believe the pacing here went by waaaaay too fast.

7. On that ending...yeah it seems Stella’s gonna be a real baddie. But regardless, this doesn’t excuse Stolas’ relationship actions. They’re both awful and I feel bad for Octavia here for having to deal with them.

Though I am curious if she knows...or even cares about what Stella’s trying to do. EDIT: The fight scenes were pretty well done! And even though the animation could get choppy at points, the shading in this episode looked really pretty! Like DAMN!

Overall, while its a big improvement, and I’d say it’s probably tied with Murdr Family for second best episode. Although....Vivziepop still isn’t the great storyteller I’ve seen Youtube comments consider her as. Getting well known voice talent for this show really isn’t worth the cuts to animation frames.

I gotta say, I started following your blog after you made the 100 reasons why I ship saiouma post, because at the time I was getting alot of crap from people saying why do I ship the ship because they disliked it and they prefer other ships like oumota/saimota/oumeno or consider saiouma unhealthy/generally disliked it. I’m honestly glad my blog feels like a safe space for fellow Saiouma shippers. I definitely know the feeling of getting a lot of crap from other people just because they otp something else (don’t get me started on those people from amino who shipped before the game came out then attack you just because Kokichi ended up having feelings for someone else). You can come to me anytime to assure you what they’re saying is wrong and is just a result of their insecurities towards their ship. To be honest, no ship with Kokichi is unhealthy, because Kokichi is not who they think he is. I believe in the end anyone who hates Saiouma just misunderstood Kokichi or Shuichi’s character. There’s a reason why most youtubers who have played the game end up acknowledging the existence of the ship after all.

When I started falling for the ship I had no dr friends who liked it so I was just fangirling on my own, reading fanfics on my own, drawing fanart and never showing anyone XD (it was sad really but it was fun to draw for my otp and being so happy about it) one day I decided maybe I should just post all that art onto dr amino as some huge art dump, but then still got some controversial comments everytime I posted something and didn’t get that much recognition. I already didn’t like that amino cause I wasn’t a huge fan of the dr fandom itself, don’t know if I was even considered a part of it. But those incidents where my friend had to keep stepping in to protect me just made me hate it to death. (thanks for protecting me @souda-nouda ;;)

I still post my drawings here and there but not as much, it’s all art dumps. Plus I never talk there, because 1. already hated the fandom and 2. one time I joined a chat and after someone (it was obv what their otp was but I’m not gonna mention it, dun wanna generalize those shippers because I’m sure not everyone is like that) noticed my Saiouma pfp they sent a “meme” ridiculing Saiouma 😂  basically a screenshot of the “you’re alone and always will be” scene with the caption “Oh I love Saiouma so much best ship” or something like that. I ended up never talking that much, was scared of being there and it was worse with my anxiousness. I ended up ranting to myself yet again then just keeping that rant in my notes, and later referred to that rant in an answer to an ask asking about how I feel towards the opinion that Saiouma is just onesided. You can find it here if you want to XD You can tell which parts I had to refer to my rant to.

But honestly, the worst one is when friends diss it in front of me with no regards for my feelings about it. When it’s others I can ignore but when it’s friends you can say “I take the beating” and laugh it off even though they’re seriously hurting me. (I know it’s just a ship, but it’s my otp for god’s sake 😂) The reason why I started disliking some ships even though I shipped them in the past is that of people trying to tell me why Saiouma sucks and why their ship is better. It was worse too when it was irl 😂 One of my only friends irl that knows danganronpa dissed my otp really badly when I had no one else and I just laughed it off 😂😂😂 (again won’t mention their ship, but it def affected my opinion on that ship and them as a person. tbh have come to seriously not like that ship at all, cause most fans of it treated Saiouma shippers the same way)

Life was like that for a while, the only one I could rant to was myself or my friend in class who knew nothing about danganronpa “I’m dying these fics are killing me and I have no one to talk to about it save me, Person B has the hanahaki disease and ran away! at this rate he’s gonna die on the streets!” poor friend

One day my friendo on kh amino for like two years now told me to post the drawings I’ve been hoarding to tumblr with her (hey @xs-xs ily thanks for dragging me to tumblr ;;💕💕💕) and she soon joined me on the ship becoming my first ever friend to have shipped Saiouma! I ended up legit spamming her with a bunch of fics that I read and loved and even a bunch of Saiouma artists I followed here on tumblr! Honestly, she helped me at such a rough time, bless her. I love her so much utcjgcfsyrehtsefxjd

my lil sis somehow joined me as well after playing the game pfpfp we fangirl together sometimes

You may laugh at me but I seriously feel safer on tumblr as a place to post these stupid drawings, I hate them, I want to get better constantly, but meeting fellow shippers and getting support for doing what I do just makes me so happy ;; and now I’m just so happy that I could you help you through something I’ve gone through as well. Because of this place I feel like I can just post drawings for me and my little circle of followers and mutuals who love the ship as well, and I ended up meeting really imp friends to me now that I speak to every day (hey @reichiroll and @my-own-special-atmosphere thank you so much for talking to me even though all I did at the time was just post drawings and was srsly new to tumblr 😂)

As you can see having been questioned multiple times as to why I ship them I ended up with tons of nights staying awake and just remembering each and every detail of why I loved the ship so much, why did I keep staying awake at night reading fanfictions of them? why did drawing them make me so happy even though I was going through such a rough time in my life? Why did I feel like I’m on cloud 9 just talking about them? Why did I want someone to talk to about it so badly? One day, I was left without internet, and away from home, I felt so horrible, but to make myself feel better I just whipped out my notes app again and just started typing the many reasons I shipped Saiouma.

It wasn’t supposed to be 100 tbh, and it almost ended up more than 100 (I didn’t mention all those cute moments between Shuichi and Kokichi before the fte starts, the “Shuichi you understand me I’m so happy I’m crying!”, the time they ran away from Kaito together, or the time Kokichi taught him stuff about lying. I don’t even think I mentioned the funny backhanded compliments in salmon team, like Kokichi wants to compliment Shuichi but doesn’t know how to so he does it in his own Kokichi way 😂 “no matter how many times I’m reborn I’m no match for the likes of you” and “You’re really amazing Shuichi” hhhhhh), it didn’t even take much time to write. but somehow (due to the unhealthy amounts of hours I spend thinking about Saiouma) I wrote all that, and somehow that post got a lot of notes proving to me that I was actually not alone. It made me so happy.

and that’s how that post came to be! XD It’s awesome that you’ve been here for that long ;;💕

i also watched an episode of s2 but i’ll put up the ‘lidul rant’ later. ugh this rewatch is bringing back SO MANY FEELINGS i thought i’d buried deep awayyyy aaaaahhhhhhhh. ANYWAYS THAT’S A WRAP ON S1! It had some great episodes truly but these were the ones I really wanted to see and I had to keep the episode list as short and non-angsty as i could get. Continuing on I agree that canon did him dirty, simply making him alya's bf whenever they needed him. It kinda removes his personality and character.

The show absolutely refuses to treat Nino as an imp character and thats where the problem lies.

For eg Timetagger features Nino's younger brother from the future travelling back akumatised. Would it really be farfetched to include Nino in the episode?

I miss the s1 headcanons where Nino was the guardian, it gave him a purpose. Basically the show does abandon him. I mean they made these hero dolls + Hawkmoth.

But the Fandom really isn't any better.

To their credit, it all started because of 1 episode

That was the start of everything. Salt, saltinette, Adrien salt, Alya salt, Class salt you name it.

The fandom did the exact same thing, they replaced alya with chloe.

Now Nino getting replaced isn't something obvious or anything because he's just not that imp as compared to the others. ( i mean he shud be but he isnt)

And the thing is, it's not only Luka that does replace him. It's Marinette sometimes or Chloe

It happens, Marichat shippers just kinda replace Nino with Mari as Adrien's bestf and they just throw Nino to the side? I mean I love the love square and everything but I genuinely dont understand the reasoning. I get it, it's fanfic but I still don't like it.

And Chloe, ugggh Chloe. I have no idea why Queen B is so popular. Did we forget she almost killed ppl on the train (including Maris parents?) She didn't even earn her miracukous in the first place. Ranting about Chloe aside, I've seen Queen B replacing Carapace a lot of times, some unnecessarily that just makes me wonder why?

As for Nino's personality, we do know some things, we know he loves filmmaking, he was even a DJ at an Agreste fashion show and he's a fan of Noir mysteries and has disguises and blows bubbles.

We know he'll fight for Adrien just like he did in Bubbler (he even defeated Gabriel since hs bubbled all the parents Gabriel was included soooo...)

We know he's loyal to Alya like we saw in Zombizou

We know he's ambitious as we saw in Horrificator

Nino even created Adrienette by convincing Adrien to apologise to Marinette

He does parkour with Alya in his free time

He had a crush on Marinette in the past.

He even set up a party for Adrien with the other boys in Partycrasher.

But the episode where Nino shines the most is Anansi.

Unlike Alya and Chloe who directly got their miraculous( Chloes a diff story but eh)

Nino earned it, he stood there eventhough he was scared and fought a spider akuma for Alya and he even managed to get a few good hits in too! Nino is brave and loyal and good.

My problem with the fandom is they don't acknowledge that at all and reduce him to nothing more than a side character eventhough he's the main char bestf

Luka, a char who is barely there in episodes( the only episodes I see where he had a big impact were Truth and Wishmaker)

And is distant to Adrien as in talking very rarely to him and having no connection or chemistry or whatever; there are more Lukadrien fanfics than Adrino.

Nino a character who has been there since s1 and has always had Adrien's back. It's just insulting.

I think the worst part is we know more about Couffaine family drama and Bourgeois family drama, which we as tge audience never asked for rather than finally seeing Nino's room or atleast his mother.

I mean it's been 3 seasons and we know about Luka's father being Jagged, Chloe having a half sister, Max's mother's dream, Kim's swimming partner, Alya's big sister, Mylene's dad being a mime, Alix's brother, Kagami's love for drawing, Sabrina's father a cop, hell we even saw Lila's room and Mom.

It just doesn't make sense? Wishmaker as an episode is just insulting because Luka really doesn't deserve to know because he just isn't that imp a character. The Dupain Chengs deserved to know, Nino or Kagami would have been a better choice. This just feels wrong

Idk if I'm overthinking things because my fav char is Nino or I just didn't vibe with Luka in the first place. And I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this but in the end it all comes down to racism.

So there's something thats been on my mind for a long time but I wasn't sure if I wanted to say it.

But it's very clear that this happening.

The Ml fandom is replacing Nino with Luka.

Hear me out- this guy Luka, he basically has all the traits Nino has. From music to having a crush on Marinette, it's extremely similar.

However what I do not understand is this overwhelming love for this character Luka who appears in barely 4 episodes and is not at all appealing to someone. (The eyelashes!)

And after wishmaker's release it just feels like the writers are replacing Nino with Luka.

I mean did he really deserve to know? He appears in 3 episodes, is a side character and we know more about him and his family and we haven't even seen Nino's mom yet!

And this is happening, I see it when people talk about miraculous irl or on a social media platform.

Hell even Carapace as a hero the fandom doesn't talk enough about at all. His doll wasn't there but Hawkmoth's was? Even Queen B( who doesn't deserve it) is put on a pedestal by fans!

Even fanfics, there are more Lukadrien fics than Adrino, eventhough Adrien and Nino actually interact with each other more than I have ever seen Adrien and Luka ever do

Why is that?

Could it possibly have anything to do with anything else?

Oh my FUCKING GOD I need to do a quick GoT rant so I'm gonna do it without names or tags to avoid ~~drama~~

This post is about Jaywashing. This is the term I'm using to describe the GOT show/fandom phenomena where every. Single. Thing. Is filtered through the lense of how it relates to a certain J*n S*ow. It's been a trend for a while now, and the show writers are the BIGGEST culprits, because every thing that happens is about JS, somehow. Every character is now defined by their relationship/value to him. They've clearly committed to the narrative of JS the Hero of this story and its wrong because

1) There are several other heros and HEROINES in this story. Their stories are being downgraded and erased for this precious snow (lol sorry) flake's Hero-ism.

2) If anybody SHOULD be the Hero it should be D*ny DUH-DOI she's not EVEN my fave and I used to hate when people would hero-wash her too but now I'm so irritated by the misogyny that it's like you know what! If you had to pick someone to be The Hero! Pick her! She's the ONE WITH THE FREAKING DRAGONS. THE MESSIAH THE SAVIOR THE LAST HOPE. WHY IS SHE NOW ONLY REDUCED TO BEING HIS GIRLFRIEND??????

And 3) it's soooooo booooorrrrrrring! Like it's so boring! It makes the story more boring when you take away the importance of other characters to prop up one!! It gets really fucking dull!!!! It's cliche as fuck

And the marketing team HAS RUN with it. Eeeeverythng is All About Him. He's the Secret Perfect Prince The King The Warrior The Savior the EVERYTHING. Everybody else is only there to lay problems at his feet to solve and/or support HIS quest for heroism.

All this makes it sound like I hate this character and I truly don't. I don't! I just...hate that he's taken over everything and is central to every discussion. I don't CARE that much what this guy will think about my favorite female (or really, any female) characters actions. I don't care what their value is to him. He's not the be-all end-all. He's not even that hot. He's an interesting, flawed hero in the books. One-dimensional and boring in the show. It's fine you know?

Fandoms blind spot about this guy is just irritating. When you consider the sheer volume of negative posts about female characters, their worth, their value, their RELATIVE importance to the story, the way they are apparently favored by the writers/fandom to the detriment of other characters (its funny how this argument is used by antis across the board - it's like everyone is watching a different show!)... When you consider that, against the fact that almost nobody has anything negative to say about JS and the way his Hero narrative has hijacked not only his siblings, but also Ds and Ts story, and compromised the complexity of the show... Its confusing as fuck. All the abelism and misogyny that people like to BLAME on one female character, typically D*ny, S*nsa or A*ya....its actually the direct result of the way the writers have restructured the complex world of GRRM to make it a Simple Hero story. B*an? He's just not relevant any more - JS is the Most Imp Male Stark! KITN! D*ny? She only exists as a means to get the dragons to JS before she sacrifices herself because of course JS is the REAL AND MOST DESERVING HEIR TO THE IT. T*rion? He's nothing but JS rival in love! But not as pure and able-bodied and therefore unsuccessful. A*ya and S*nsa? Only there to populate JS team, provide the skills his team is lacking.

I'm just... Tired.

"Azure didn't love Wukong" is a funny take because it's always used to imply Azure is some kind of master manipulator when he's not. Like that opinion entirely falls apart when you think about how Azure acts when he's actually talking with Wukong

Like, Azure's "the false sage, equal to nothing!" speech in 4x13 reveals he's someone whose feelings of betrayal stem from his broken love of Monkey King. He's not like, uniquely evil—even later when everything is crumbling and all he can do is cry and exclaim "I just wanted to make the world a better place!", he means what he says: Azure saw the pain around him and wanted to do something about it, however misguided.

Wukong wasn't just like, "manipulated" by Azure, they enabled each other. Azure truly believed that him and the Monkey King were going to change the world with each other. Azure wanted to mend the fracture between himself and Wukong, right up until his memories of Wukong were used to make him explode. Like, his love of Wukong was used to manipulate him, you know
