I scare easily lol, but how about Hitchhiker from the horror prompts?
Thanks for the prompt, Anon! I know horror isn't the most popular genre in the Everlark fan community, lol, so I kept it pretty mild.
A-Z Horror prompts
(if you like weird stuff, send me a prompt from the list, fam. This is the only one I got so I'm open to more!)
The guy in the interview room says he's Peeta Mellark. He's not carrying identification, and his prints aren't in the state or federal system, so he could be anybody. I don't know if he has a reason to lie. He's young. Looks like shit. My first thought was junkie, but his eyes are clear.
The kid can't keep his leg still. I say leg, singular because he only has the one. I know that detail because my report states that when Peeta Mellark was brought in, the upper right-hand portion of his blood-soaked jeans was torn away, revealing a prosthetic leg attached well above his knee. Now he's in county-issued scrubs. We were out of sweats and T-shirts. He's not under arrest. He has no wounds, no scratches or caked skin under his nails, only the beginnings of a large bruise on the side of his face. And a story that can’t be true. Can it?
"Your leg a recent injury?" I ask, leaning back in my chair.
The kid shakes his head, never breaking stride with the leg. None of that blood on him was his. I know that. I'm just trying to get him talking.
"Childhood cancer. I lost my leg maybe twelve years ago. Good thing, too. If I'd just got the new one attached, I wouldn't have got away tonight. Took a while to get used to it," he explains, patting his left leg. "Wasn't the fastest runner to begin with. My ma says I stomp around like a bear."
He's rambling, but it's understandable if there's an inch of truth to his story. "Lucky guy. Well, Peeta, let's get directly to the point. I looked over the statement you gave Officer Leeg and watched the interview. I have some concerns."
Peeta meets my eye. Despite the jackshit he told Leeg, I'd swear he's not on anything. "I know it sounds crazy---"
"Yeah, it does."
"You should've been there," he said. "Do I have to tell you everything again? I'm, ah, I'm about to pass out or something. Haven't slept much the last few days."
"No, that's alright. Just answer a few questions if you wouldn't mind."
"Do I need a lawyer?" He asks, leg finally stopping.
"It's never a bad idea. But we're not figuring you as the perpetrator at this point. I can call you a public defendant if you want."
"Nah."
"So you told Officer Leeg that at approximately seven p.m., you were out on Highway 12, looking to hitch a ride. Never a good idea, you know that, right?" I add for good measure. "All kinds of things are liable to happen, as you well know."
Peeta shrugs. "I don't have a car. Still have places I need to get to."
"Ever heard of Uber?"
"Got to have money for that or at least plastic. I'm a little short at the moment."
"Seems like your ass just dropped in from Jupiter or something."
He laughs. Starting to loosen up. "No, I'm not claiming an alien abducted me."
"No. No mention of that. Let's go over what happened again, alright? I'll read over things and just ask questions where I feel it's warranted. So you're on Highway 12 with your thumb out when a Chevy truck, mid 80's model, you think?"
Peeta nods. "Tan and white. Decent shape. Some rust."
"And inside the truck's cab were three young men about your age. They had dark hair and an olive complexion, you said."
He squints at me. "Yes, they had a similar look to yours. Do you have many relations around here?"
"A Lot of us look alike in Seamtown. There was probably lots of inbreeding in the old days."
Peeta laughs, and I wink at him.
"Kidding. We're backwoods, but all of our DNA strands don't match. So back to your statement---these fellas offer to give you a ride."
For someone who said he was too tired to relay the whole story again, Peeta dives in head first. "Yep. There was no room in the cab, but the bed was empty. Was riding with them maybe half an hour before things started getting weird. It was really dark before Gale, the driver, flipped the headlights on. Seconds before before he slammed on the brakes. I about jumped out of my skin when something bounced off the front of the truck. I figured it was a deer. Lots of deer on the move around here at night. He didn't give me time to look around, just started arguing with the other two fellas---his brothers I think---before pushing the pedal to the floor. Seemed in a big hurry to get away. Anyway, he cut the headlights off, so I didn't get a look at what he hit with the truck, but whatever it was didn't look like a deer."
Now we're getting to the first interesting part of Peeta Mellark's statement to my officer: the part where it sounds like Gale Hawthorne (it's a small place, Seamtown) and his younger brothers involved themselves in a hit-and-run on Highway 12.
"So we've gone about five or so miles down the road, I guess, when Gale swerves to the side of the road and comes to a stop. 'This is as far as I can take you,' he said. He sounded frantic. 'Hop out.'"
"He never got out of the truck. It's black as pitch by now, and I'm not excited about being left alone on the side of the road, but after what happened earlier, it doesn't take much convincing to get me out of the truck bed. Something feels off, and I'd rather part company with them before anything else goes wrong. If something bad happened, they might be looking to get rid of a witness, I figured."
"So I hop out of the back of the truck and tell Gale thanks. He mutters something, then guns it out onto the road, and soon, the only thing I can make out is his taillights. I was still figuring out what I was going to do next when I heard it. Breaks squealing and tires screaming across the pavement, trying to stop fast. Then, that crashing sound, twisting, popping, tearing metal that makes you sick to your stomach."
I know exactly what he's describing. Been witness to too many accidents to get those sounds out of my head.
"Gale, he'd hit something else, and whatever it was, it was way bigger than a deer. I take off in a dead sprint towards the truck—at least as fast as I can run, thanks to my bionic leg. They're a good two or three miles down the road, but I'm fairly close when, all of a sudden, I'm not running on the road anymore—I'm off the ground. Feet dangling ten fuckin' feet above the pavement."
"I can't remember a whole lot after that, just the explosion when the truck's fuel tank blew. Whatever had me, some kind of huge bird, maybe some guy in a glider or something? dropped me onto the road, maybe 50 yards past the truck. That's when my pants got ripped. I don't know where all that blood came from. I'm sorry. I don't remember everything that happened tonight. Might have hit my head when that thing dropped me."
Peeta's brows knit together as his relay of the events comes to an end. "Chief Abernathy, can I ask you something? That officer I talked to earlier, Leeg? She wouldn't tell me what Gale hit with his truck when I was with them. I don't...I don't think it was a deer. It's driving me crazy. He drove off so fast, I can't help wondering if he hit someone with the truck."
I fold my arms on the tabletop and sigh. No reason to lie. the kid figured it out on his own. "Between me and you, we found a young woman in the location you described to us."
The color drains from his face. "Was she okay?" he asked.
There's a note of hope in his voice I hated to dash. "Nah, kid. She's dead."
His eyes glaze over, and he slumps backward as the reality hits him. "Hers is a sad story," I admit. "Second, hell, make that the third tragedy to happen in that family. The girl's parents died in a house fire. The oldest daughter was asleep in bed at the time. Fire didn't kill her but left burns across her whole body. Lost her mind. The county sent her somewhere for mental treatment---girl claimed she was some sort of mythological bird. Like a phoenix, but that's not what she called it. Happened a dozen or so odd years ago."
"A Mockingjay," Peeta said, turning to face the two-way mirror in the room. "I read something about her somewhere," he added casually.
I snap my fingers. "Yeah, that was it. Mockingjay. The girl disappeared from the facility one day. Katniss Everdeen. The young lady who died tonight was her sister Prim. You wonder how much a person can take without breaking all that death and pain. I don't know what Katniss would do if she found out about her sister's death on top of everything else."
"Maybe she already knows," Peeta says, his leg beginning to shake again. "Uh, confession time, I guess."
He waves his hands. "Not about anything tonight. I was at the facility with her, with Katniss. We kind of had a thing, I don't know. I left right after she disappeared. I didn't go home. I guess I've sort of been wandering around the area, looking for her since."
"Really. Odd that you weren't in our system, then."
Peeta rolled his eyes. "It was a physical rehab place, not drug detox. We weren't criminals. What happened to Gale and his brothers?"
I shake my head. "Gale's in the morgue. One brother with him. One in intensive care."
"Shit," he murmurs, rubbing his eyes. "Christ. Hey, am I free to go?"
I stand. "Free as the wind. Just let us know before you head out of town. Do you have somewhere to go tonight, kid?"
Peeta nods. "Yeah, I think so."
When he stands I pat him on the shoulder. "Thanks again. I'll see if we have something else you can wear."
Within a half hour or so, we had Peeta on his way. I don't know where he planned to go, but I never saw him again after that. It was almost like he'd been plucked off the ground by whatever that thing was and put somewhere safe.

ok i dont think this is anything related to the watchmaker and all that stuff, but i think its insane that the Family turns traitors into memory zone memes because the concept of the memory zone memes is just that they were created by the true Dreamscape and from the emotions of those within the Dreamscape
this was from the emoscape with Mr McCoy in Dewlight Pavilion, where he was ordered by the Dreammaster to turn his siblings, who were apparently selling information to the IPC about the Family, into memory zone memes, but now i'm wondering just how many people got turned into memory zone memes for being a traitor
I would have said too that maybe the Family - trying to seek out the traitor and the killer of the first Oak Family Head - framed the Watchmaker and possibly turned him into a memory zone meme as well, but the Family is trying to search for the Watchmaker so that's less likely the case. But I just love seeing how fucked up actually the Family can be AND getting more information about the Dreammaster since there really isn't much of anything

saurrr what do we need to do to get that deleted scene??? 👀🤲🏼
beg.
LJHDFJGHKJ KIDDING you asked and i shall serve with not only the deleted scene but two bonus scenes:
Tumblr media
from the fic guerrilla (serialkiller!dr.yunho x writer!reader)
wc: 4k
notes: surgeon yunho who just so happens to be a serial killer (a vigilante with morals if you must), reader is a writer working on gory crime fiction novels, they are housemates, fluffy stuff, talks about therapy, questionable morals, honestly very questionable morals, smut at the end (minors and anyone not comfortable with dark themes do not interact with the third section
"oh, you're home. almost didn't hear you," you said when you spotted yunho coming down the stairs. in the past few months, you had learned quite a few habits of his, one being that he could be as silent as a feather at times.
which was a bit scary, but you supposed it was just a natural skill of his.
"of course you didn't. you were humming something while you cooked," yunho stood near the counter, looking around and you muttered a silent curse- no wonder you didn't hear him. "need help?"
"yeah, if you could just set the table," you said and yunho obeyed instantly, taking out the utensils and scooping the dishes while you told him about your day- mail arrived, you befriended a stray cat that has now found home in your backyard, you went shopping for grocery today and got the stuff yunho had requested you to buy for him.
and while you ate, yunho said his thanks for saving him a trip to the grocery store and told you about his day- he went to assist a professor from his previous job in a complicated surgery upon his request. you told him he looked fond of that professor and he admitted that he owed most of his surgery skills to him and he often called him to assist him.
and just like that, you finished your meals and you started clearing the kitchen and washing the dishes while he went to the backyard to bring the laundry inside. it was the weekend and you wondered if yunho would join you in the living room just to hang out or watch something. or would he be too tired and just say goodnight and leave?
he stayed. he slumped down on the couch and took out his phone, probably responding to texts. you silently joined on the other end and turned on your laptop which opened to your document and reminded you of the question that had been looming over your head the entire day. you glanced at yunho but he seemed absorbed in his phone and you sighed- maybe you'll just ask him tomorrow-
"is something the matter?"
he didn't have to be that observant. you straightened. "nothing. just wanted to ask you something related to the book- but it can wait."
"you can ask me, y/n."
"you seem busy and tired, though..." your voice faltered when he shot you with a challenging look.
"never too busy for your weird questions."
"oh," you laughed a little and when he set his phone aside to focus on you, you stifled a satisfactory smile. "okay, so remember what i told you last time? the cop who's also a criminal, he's targeting the main character- the detective now. he finally baits her into entering the abandoned warehouse where she thought she would find some druggies."
"yes, and the warehouse doesn't have much space to run because of the abundance of shelves so when she's looking around, she keeps thinking she's hearing something- which is actually the criminal riling her up and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike."
"yes," you smiled. "now, he's going to attack, and another unfortunate cop who accompanied our detective is going to get killed by him while trying to protect the detective. so that gets the detective all messed up in her head and she's lost her gun but there's a dagger lying on the floor- remember the dagger i showed you for reference?"
yunho nodded and you continued. "the detective aims to hurt the criminal, not kill, but the lines must be blurred so when she is questioned about her motives, she wonders if she actually intended to kill the man."
"because there's the fact that the criminal is her colleague and that could have worsened her anger. she might have actually wanted to kill him," yunho recalls.
"exactly," you shift in your position so your legs are tucked under you. "now... where would the detective stab him? self defense, anger, confusion, all these elements."
yunho hummed in thought, his eyes running all over your body. something you had noticed that whenever he answered one of your questions, he would envision them on you. that might have made you a flustered mess in the beginning when his eyes would fixate on a spot on your body but it didn't really bother you anymore- you supposed as a surgeon, he got lost in vivid imagination or something.
"there's quite a few ways we could achieve that, but i think if you can narrow it down, it might help."
"somewhere near the heart? throat? something that would disarm the criminal immediately," you said.
yunho nodded slowly, his eyes fixated on your neck now and you subconciously adjusted your shirt. he finally met your eyes. "i think this spot might do the trick."
yunho fisted his hand but outstretched the index finger. "suppose this is the tip of your dagger, right? you would want to stab right here," he turned his hand to touch the space between his collarbones. "this spot is tricky because for males and females, it's not the same."
"oh?" you touched that same spot on yourself. "how so?"
"males usually have a thicker clavicle," yunho explained, stretching the collar of his shirt to expose his collarbones. "the gap between the two may be wider but it's definitely easier to stab a man here than a woman."
you touched your own collarbones for reference in confusion and when yunho had enough of your struggling, he scooted closer and touched the space between your collarbones with his finger. "this part. v-shaped, right? it's a bit straighter for men. so if your criminal was a woman, i'd have you stab them... right here," yunho trailed his finger up and dug it in that spot. you nodded. "the clavicle is a bit narrower in females too," he trailed his finger along your collarbones. "and positioned at a more diagonal angle-"
he didn't realise when he started rambling but when he met your eyes, he found them wider than usual and your lips parted, and only then did he realise the proximity between you two. you gulped and he felt that movement on his finger still situated on your skin and his own lips parted in surprise, his mind going black when your gaze fell down there.
and if that damned phone hadn't buzzed repeatedly, he would have done something about you. he definitely would have, ignoring all his strict rules, because there was no way you didn't feel a certain way about him. he was sure you did, especially now. especially when he drew back to check his phone and heard you let out a deep breath. you had been holding your breath all this time.
"i, uh... i have to take this call," he pursed his lips.
"of course," you nodded.
"i hope that cleared your confusion?" yunho dared to ask and when you stifled a smirk, he got his answer.

[bonus scene that takes place after the big revelation]
it's been a long time since you woke up feeling like there was a weight on your chest, unable to breathe properly, hair matted to your face and your head spinning.
a nightmare. no-
a memory.
you checked the time- it was almost 4. you shook your head- maybe you should have pushed yourself to stay awake until you passed out so you could have a dreamless sleep. you always slept better when you were tired- not the healthiest habit, but that was how you overcame your sleeping struggles as a teen when your father passed away.
would you have to do this all over again?
you managed to walk to the toilet to wash your face, staring at the sink for the longest time and letting the water run through your hands as if it could wash away the weight of what you had done before finally snapping out of it and turning the tap off, exiting the toilet to go to the kitchen. you took a deep breath and sat yourself on a stool in the kitchen, taking small sips from your glass.
you could not go back to sleep now. not anytime soon.
you briefly wondered when yunho got home- was he home yet? lately, you had been going to sleep at odd times so you didn't run into him much, but you couldn't sleep for long- you would always wake up, just like you did tonight. the nightmares were plaguing your rest hours-
the glass slipped from your hand and crashed on the floor loudly, making you squeal a little. you winced at how loud it sounded in the dead hours of the night and you tried to find a spot on the floor that was not covered with shards- how exactly were you going to put your feet on the floor with all the glass around you-
"y/n? is everything okay?"
you sighed internally. "did i wake you up? i'm sorry, the glass just slipped."
yunho turned on a light and surveyed the mess. "stay right there, okay? don't move- i'll get the broom."
you nodded and waited until he started cleaning the shards from around you, making sure he got everything and then running to your room quickly to get your slippers. you thanked him, taking the broom and dustpan from him this time, spotting a tiny shard at the other end of the kitchen.
"were you asleep? did i wake you up?"
"i got home like, an hour ago," yunho said. "was just scrolling a bit. are you okay, though? you look pale."
"yeah, i'm okay," you put the broom in a corner and washed your hands. when you dried them and turned, you noticed yunho watching you intently. "what?"
"did you have a nightmare or something?"
he always knew. somehow, he always saw through you.
"is it that obvious?" you let out a short laugh. "do i look like a mess?"
"i mean..." yunho stifled a smile. "you usually do look like a hot mess..."
"lovely to hear that," you nodded and he grinned, stepping forward and encasing you in his arms as he peered down at you.
"won't you talk to me about it?"
"what's there to talk about?" you cocked your head and yunho's heart sank a little at the way your eyes went blank. "i killed a man, yunho. again. of course i will have to live with the consequences now."
yunho licked his dry lips and he knew you had zoned out at the way your gaze was fixated on his face. "can i ask you something?"
it took you a moment to come back to your senses and nod. yunho took a deep breath. "do you regret killing the man who almost killed your father?"
"everything went wrong after i did that-"
"but if you could go back in time, would you change that?" yunho asked.
"no." you were sure you would make the same decision. "because if i had not done that, he would have killed all of us."
"so... do you regret killing the man from a few days ago?"
"not at all," your response was quick. "he was going to kill you. i would have done the same, no matter who it was."
yunho brought his hand to your cheek and caressed it, his eyes full of love. you continued, "but that doesn't change the fact that i have killed people."
"i know," yunho said. "you will have to live with that for the rest of your life. it won't get easier, it will always hang like a noose over your head. but if you keep all of this to yourself... it will only get harder, y/n."
"i just... i don't know what to do," you exhaled a deep breath, looking away. "i feel so helpless. you've done so much to help me, hell, you almost took the blame for it, but still..."
"all these feelings are normal," yunho took your hand and started guiding you to the couch in the living room. you both settled down close to each other with yunho's hand on your shoulder, his thumb caressing your neck. "but if it's troubling you to the point of nightmares... why didn't you tell me earlier, y/n? if there's anyone who can relate to you..."
"it's you, i know," you smiled a little. "and i'm okay, for the most part, but for a while that night, i really thought it was all over, and that scared me so much, yunho."
"it's okay-"
"it's not the remorse that's eating me up, see?" you let out a short laugh. "it's... the fact that it's not the remorse eating me up but my selfishness when i was scared that you were going to take the blame and i would have to pick up the pieces of what was left all by myself. that your friends would hate me for the rest of our lives. that you would rot away in prison, like my father did, and i would never get to touch you again. it's wrong, isn't it? that this is the product of my nightmares and i don't need to sleep to feel this? does this make me a monster, yunho?"
if yunho could tell you how he felt at that moment, perhaps you would cower away, but he just had to ask you something. "do you still think you're the monster when i'm right in front of you?"
you looked at his unbelievably soft gaze and furrowed, somewhat confused brows. the dim lights from the kitchen softened half of his face, but even the shadows on his face didn't change who he was. you found his hand on your neck and held it, pressing your lips against his palm.
"i have killed more people than i can count, y/n," yunho continued, his voice pained. "but if that means that the world is somehow safer, i will continue down this road no matter how weary i get. does that make me a bad person or a good person? i realised long ago that i needed to stop categorising myself into one category, however... i sure as hell wouldn't call myself a good person," he let out a short laugh and you shook your head.
"if you weren't a good person, you wouldn't have tried to take the blame for me that night. and on that note... what were you thinking when you did that? without hesitation? can you imagine how wrong it could have gone if you got caught at that time-"
yunho leaned in and captured your lips in a deep kiss and thought it took you by surprise initially, you quickly melted in his grasp, your heart fluttering uncontrollably at the way he held and kissed you. when he drew back, he lingered for a few moments before looking at you.
"i would have done that anyway, no matter the consequences," he told you and you smiled sadly. "for you... i would do it again. so will you listen to me? will you let me help you?"
you nodded and he pulled you in for a hug. you scooted closer, almost sitting in his lap as you wrapped your arms around his waist, fisting the material of his sweatshirt.
"i know how hard it is to live with what we have done, no matter how we feel about it or think we feel about it," he caressed your head. "we think we have it all figured out. we think we'll be okay but really... it's still a human life, isn't it?"
you nodded- he was absolutely right.
"i harboured so much negativity in myself when my parents were killed. i thought if i would face their killer, i would not hesitate to kill him, but i did, and it cost me my sanity for a good while. if it weren't for hongjoong and mingi helping me figure out everything that was going on... i would have been so lost. i still think i am- the twisted, monstrous part in me is okay with what i do-"
"please don't call yourself a monster," you whispered. "you're anything but."
yunho embraced you tighter. "thank you for believing in me, but you should also tell yourself that."
and that's when it all made sense, what yunho was trying to tell you. it wasn't okay, it probably never will be, and it never should be. that's what you have to live with, and that's what will ultimately differentiate you from the actual monsters in this world.
"how do i convince myself i'm not the same as them?"
"that's what i'm here for," yunho laughed and you joined, drawing away from him. "but actually... i have a suggestion for you."
and that's how he told you all about mingi, the psychiatrist and the therapist who would never judge you no matter how dark your deepest thoughts and desires were. the person who would be able to understand your situation better than anyone else in this world since he was also a part of what yunho did. and most importantly, the person who wouldn't convince you to be someone you weren't. someone who wouldn't put you high on a pedestal or push you to your lowest. you adored the look on yunho's face when he told you all about his friend and you thought that mingi must be an admirable person if yunho believed in him so much.
and that night, he made a vow to you- he would always be there for you. he would be there to help you with the nightmares because he wished someone was there for him too. he would make sure you get proper sleep, and how couldn't you, if you were in his arms, safe and secure? how couldn't you, if you were showered in kisses before you fell asleep? how couldn't you, if you were enveloped in his scent that felt like home now?
the nightmares wouldn't easily stop but at least you wouldn't feel alone now, and that was all that mattered.
----------------------------
[something romantic but unhinged bc man now that i'm writing guerrilla again i wish i made it even longer LMAO]
[mdni!] [and do not interact if you're not comfortable with dark themes]
"yunho, what if your dark fantasies take over while we're having a moment and you kill me or something?"
yunho almost choked on the last sips of hot chocolate you had made him and he put the cup down on the table before shutting his eyes, inhaling and then opening them to glare at you.
"what stupid book are you reading now, babe?"
you pursed your lips in guilty admission. "you don't need to know that."
it had been a good few months into your relationship with yunho now, and he knew to expect odd questions like these way before that. when you first moved in, the questions had been related to your crime fiction wip but now that you were comfortable with him...
too comfortable, he thought. you couldn't ask something like this while you were seated so casually, defenceless across the couch with your legs in his lap while you used your tablet probably to edit your current draft.
"but do you think it happens? do you have moments like those when you... you know."
"when i what?" yunho smirked. he could play this game.
you immediately knew the mood had changed when his eyes glinted playfully. one thing about yunho was that no matter how strange or ridiculous your questions were, he would always answer.
"i won't judge you, i promise," you laughed a little. "but do you ever want to? or do you think others do?"
"words. i need you to say it out loud," yunho sat back cockily while his hand rested on your thigh, squeezing it almost suggestively.
and you knew it could only go one way from here. one thing about yunho was that no matter how strange or ridiculous your questions were, he would always answer-
practically. whenever he could, practically.
"if you're about to see if you feel like killing me right now, no thanks. and for your information, i can fight back."
"can you?" yunho scoffed.
"i've killed two men."
yunho laughed mockingly at that. "two. such a cute number."
your heart sank at that but you tried to lighten the situation. "okay, yeah, i should probably stop reading stupid books-"
"do you want me to check and see, though?" yunho cocked his head dangerously, removing his hand from your thigh only to hold your hand and pull you closer.
"geez, you really take answering my questions so seriously," you teased. of course he would never hurt you, but the thought of where this could lead to excited you in too many ways and you internally slapped yourself. "i guess i'll find the answer if i live to tell the tale?"
yunho pulled you properly in his lap, one hand stationed across your legs to keep you close to him while the other hand stayed on your neck, his thumb caresseing your adam's apple. you loved putting yunho in this headspace, when his gaze darkened as he thought about all the ways he would mess with you.
"do you know how easy it is to take someone's life if you press this wrong?" yunho pushed your adam's apple with his thumb just a fraction. "even just a little pressure can make it difficult to breathe."
you twisted away from him to put your tablet away and then put your own hand on his neck to feel his adam's apple. you pressed it a little just like he had demonstrated and nodded in understanding.
"it's ironic then, isn't it?" yunho looked up at you. "that some of the most sensitive spots on a human are around there?"
before you could ask him to elaborate, he pulled you closer to kiss you on the side of your neck and you gasped when you realised where this was going. he didn't stop there, though, no. he flipped you effortlessly so your back was flat on the couch and he was on top of you. before you could process anything, he was back to peppering kisses along your neck, planting a rather long one right on your adam's apple before finding your sweet spot and continuing to kiss and suck there.
your back arched in pleasure when one of his hands went to hold your waist but found your bare skin instead, your shirt having ridden up. you squirmed under him, one hand at the nape of his neck. when he was satisfied after earning a loud moan from you, he drew back to admire the bruising mark on your neck.
and then he grinned at your breathless form.
"that was so out of the blue," you laughed.
"i'm nowhere near done though," yunho kissed your temple, trailing his lips down along the angles of your face and then kissing your jaw sweetly. you brought your limp arm up to fist his shirt and crash your lips on his because he should stop teasing you already. yunho smiled into the kiss before responding enthusiastically and you tasted chocolate on his lips which made you hum in satisfaction.
yunho took that as his cue to escalate things further. while he kissed you, he let his hand travel down your body until it reached the waistband of your shorts. he broke the kiss to look at you and make sure you were okay and when you nodded, he pulled them down a bit to slide his hand down and he looked at you in surprise.
"you're soaking wet," he laughed a little. "tell me, which part turned you on?"
you slapped his hand and he laughed louder, pecking your lips and drawing away to lock eyes with you just in time to see your reaction when he slid a finger along your slit. he captured your gasp in another kiss and soon, things got all heated up. the sound of your moans were swallowed in his kisses as he slid two fingers knuckle-deep inside you and started thrusting them, curling them inside to earn loud gasps from you.
"so responsive," he praised, trailing kisses down your neck again and finding another spot to suck at. it was good that you mostly stayed at home, you thought. he had a thing with marking you and you could only imagine how much a hassle it would have been to cover it on a daily basis.
"yunho," you gasped when his thumb started circling your clit. it hadn't even been that long that you started getting more physical but he sure knew all your buttons. "please."
"please what?" he breathed against your adam's apple, reminding you once again how this all started.
"i'm so close," you moaned.
"already?" he tsk-ed, kissing the protruding spot on your neck. "how badly do you want it?"
you cupped his face and kissed him in answer, your tongues colliding in the passionate makeout which only sent another wave of arousal through your body and you shivered against him. he knew you were close so he drew apart and made you rest your head against the cushion again.
"you asked me about my dark fantasies, right?" yunho almost whispered and you nodded, anticipating what was next. "not the darkest fantasy, but a good start- choking."
you frowned- choking was pretty common... no?
"there's a very subtle difference in choking for pain and choking for pleasure," yunho explained, his hand around your neck now, his other hand still rubbing your clit in circles, his fingers pumping inside you slowly. "and sure, choking is common, but sweetheart..."
yunho pressed the sides of your throat for a second experimentally and you gasped. "feel that? see how everything you feel inside you becomes heightened but your senses grow numb?"
"yeah," you breathed, squirming under him- you were almost there. "pleasure."
"and if i pressed like this," he said, gently squeezing from the front- so gently that you almost didn't feel anything. "it would be to kill you. how faint is the line between pain and pleasure, y/n?"
you didn't realise when yunho sped up his fingers thrusting inside you but you were almost out of breath now and when he flicked your clit and provided the friction it needed to get over the edge, right when you could feel your orgasm beginning to wash over you, he leaned in to whisper in your ear-
"do you think i have dark fantasies like that?"
and you almost wouldn't have heard him because he pressed the sides of your throat, choking you right as your orgasm washed over you and your vision darkened, your back arching against him. everything was so heightened- yunho on top of you, his fingers inside you, his hand palming your clit, the other hand squeezing your throat like a choker necklace, his lips on your temple in a kiss, his thighs caging you, but the most heightened of all-
his question, the itch in your brain yet to be scratched. it clouded your thoughts as you took deep breaths to recover from the orgasm, as he kissed you everywhere and drew back to clean his fingers with tissues.
"so..." you breathed. "you won't be answering that, will you?"
he only smirked. "answering it would kill all the fun."

i need more “cute become scary” horror to not be gory and over the top but to be like old kid cartoons that would have super unsettling weird moments that just may as well be horror
the same vibes as some obscure piece of media u remember watching when u were little, and all u got from it was “what were the writers on??”
there are implications to what you just watched that are never explained, leaving you to fill in the blanks as to what could possibly be going on in that world
it all has the vibe of an old animated movie made decades ago, filled with charm!! something that could’ve really been meant for kids!! but there’s just some weird creepy shit for no reason!!!
i’m just a little tired of super shocking horror, i enjoy the quieter more charming stuff Especially if it’s animated like old movies and shows !!

Things the ninja fear, except they make zero sense:
Kai: I refuse to forget he’s afraid of elves. It’s a good thing Christmas doesn’t exist for them, he would NOT survive the groups of little kids dressing up as elves for it.
Zane: uneven floor tiles. They literally had one job and now he feels like pulling them out of the ground and putting them back in an organised pattern that fits. He has done this once before at the monastery at 5am and Wu had to, for the first time ever, hit him with his stick and tell him to go to bed.
Lloyd: Bunnies. Specifically ones with white fur and red eyes. It reminds him of Harumi and Garmadon a tad too much. And Akita. Every time it reminds him of Akita he actually just turns super depressed until he sees the red eyes and screeches onto the ceiling spider-man style.
Cole: bleach. He drank it as a kid, got caught, and was rushed to the hospital. He didn’t understand what was so serious but all the panic made him terrified of bleach, and most cleaning products that aren’t used for hygiene.
Nya: the colour yellow. Ironic, isn’t it?
(She once was in a house that was fully yellow as a child and couldn’t tell up from down and ended up sobbing like a baby. Kai had to sell all of the fully yellow things in their house.)
Jay: crocodile’s. He had a dream when he was younger about a crocodile in his parent’s bed eating them under the blanket and he never got over it. Best part was that it wasn’t gory or detailed or anything, it more cartoony of a dream, but nevertheless he has had a vendetta against crocodiles from that day on.
Edit: Bonus+
Morro: flowers. As a child Wu read him a story about an evil flower that first started the fear, yet when he left the monastery he was no longer afraid. It was during his travels to find out how to become the green ninja that the fear sprouted again. Due to multiple events. He once ate a poisonous flower. He once came across a corrupted flower that was bigger than a mountain and liked to eat stuff. He once came across a cemetery covered in deadly flowers. He once got force fed incredibly sweet flowers. And he once had someone give him a bouquet of flowers, except that person had no idea that this flower can give some people severe allergic reactions. Yeah. He is terrified when he’s near flowers. He likes those really small ones that grow on the ground though if that helps.
Garmadon: the light. He hisses like a vampire when too much light hits either his skin or eyes.
Wu: pitch black darkness. Best believe you’ll find him half transformed into a dragon and in a corner with a spear when the light comes back on.
Skylor: beards. They look like rats nests to her. Specifically ones on people with bad hygiene, she will automatically back away and get close to throwing up in fear if that thing comes near. After seeing Wu’s beard care routine (cause you have to have one with a beard that long) Skylor has accepted Wu to be one of the people that her fear doesn’t apply to.
Pixal: weird scratchy floors, they feel disturbing to her at first, but during her first few weeks alive she watched a movie about creatures coming out of those exact same scratchy floors and she has never been the same. She sits on Zane’s or Cole’s shoulders when they’re near some of those type of carpets.
This was supposed to be fears that didn’t make sense and then I made them all make sense.
Best part, Jay’s fear was me projecting. Number 1 crocodile hater right here.

“Rot My Brain.” Smutt
Synopsis: A women who isn’t able to do it with a condom, because the pain she feels with rubber rubbing against her inner cooch hurts like hell.
AN: I’m writing this all based on personal experience. I know practicing safe sex is what’s best but it hurts so bad everytime we tried with a condom! My partner and I agreed to not use condoms to make me feel good too :3
SLIGHTLY OUT OF CHARACTER KATSUKI.
B. Katsuki x AFAB! Reader
Tumblr media
The first time you used a rubber dildo it hurt like shit. The uncomfortable feeling of the rubber rubbing within your walls made your stomach turn and not to mention the stretching was horrid. It literally felt like you were going to rip in two.
Of course you thought it would get better everytime you used it. It did not. No matter how much you tried to use it, it just always felt wrong. You couldn’t help but think you did something wrong.
Did I force it in? Maybe not enough lube?
At that point you just threw the toy away thinking everything would feel better when you actually had some real dick.
Of course you were right.
The first time you and katsuki did it was in the heat of the moment. You and him did it with no condoms no nothing, it only hurt at the beginning but after that it felt amazing.
The first time you two had sex was at a party, you didn’t give two shits about the safety of sex at a Highschool party you just wanted to loose your virginity and feel some real dick.
And what better way to do it with your first love?
The first time having sex without a condom left a feeling in your stomach, it felt like his cock was still inside you and it made you toss and turn at night, biting your lips and rubbing your legs together thinking about the next time you two would make love.
You two talked about that night often, but you two always bringing up the fact that you two had to use protection from then on.
“Katsuuuu, I wanna do it.” You whine snuggling your face into your boyfriends chest. You were currently laying on top of Katsuki’s chest, the two of you binge watching a new show together when all of a sudden you got a random wave of horniness.
Considering the fact you two were watching a very gory show he wasn’t expecting this at all. But he of course wasn’t mad at it at all.
“I don want the condom Katsuu.” You give him a big pout, your legs thrown over his shoulders as he was tearing the condom open, fuck he was hot as hell doing it.
“Well that’s too fuckin’ bad.” Katsuki stated, sliding the condom onto his dick.
The feeling when he started to slide it in was all too similar. It felt bad. Horrible even.
If you were to describe the feeling, it was like rubbing rubber against your fingers but now it’s inside your body.
“Mm-…ow…Katsu stop please.”
“ Too much?” Katsuki stopped his movements.
“Yeah just…hurts..the rubber it feels weird.”
“Shit. Ya wanna stop?”
“Yeah…just doesn’t feel good.”
You felt bad about stopping, not only were you the one instigating it but now you wanted to stop because it felt weird. Watching as your boyfriend helped you, cleaned up and everything.
“Ya wanna snack baby?” Katsuki was so considerate, even after you didn’t even please him he still thought of you and just wanted to take care of you.
“No I’m okay…I’m sorry Katsu I don’t know why but this time it just felt weird. I think it’s just the condom…”
You explain to him how you felt with different toys, not only do you feel very little with your own fingers but with rubber items it always hurt and felt wrong.
Katsuki simply laughed a bit, pulling you in for a kiss.
“Well ya know there’s other ways to please each other than penetration.”
“Yeah but I always thought it was cuz my fingers are too small, or I was just doing it wrong. We can always try again with a condom I don’t want to force you to-“
You being cut off by katsuki pushing you down onto the bed, kissing you so tenderly as his hand trailed down your body to reach for your naked pussy.
“I can pull out.”

Outbreak Day - J.M
a/n: hello angels! reader is 26 and pregnant and Joel is 36. there is a little twist 😵 best way to describe this imagine is that it’s sad, long and has a shitty ending lmfao. okay anyways, enjoy reading 🫶 please send me in some fluffy requests and some dad! joel requests too!!
big trigger warning this imagine is very gory and descriptive!
Tumblr media
“Sarah honey, is that you?” you turned to look at the front door and saw your step daughter Sarah coming home from school. “hey mum” she said as she set her backpack down on the floor. “how was school?” you walked toward her and gave her a small hug and a kiss on her forehead.
“was good. got dads watch fixed but everyone acting weird, cops everywhere, shops closing early. i don’t know just weird” she said making your heart pound a little, you didn’t know why but hearing her say that scared you but you tried not to dwell on it too much. “yeah well it’s probably just people being stupid. we shouldn’t worry too much okay?” she nodded but then groaned making you frown.
“dad told the Adlers i’d go over there to help them make cookies” she sighed, it wasn’t that she didn’t like the Adlers it was just she wanted to spend time with you and her dad as it was his birthday. “look, go there for thirty minutes then say i need you home, i don’t mind you blaming me.” she smiled and thanked you.
“i was going to make your dad a cake but we don’t have the ingredients and i was too tired to go food shopping so he should be brining one home, he’s going to be home earlier today as well” her eyes lit up as you spoke “is it a chocolate cake?” she asked watching you nod. “i didn’t tell him it was because you have been craving one i told him it was because i was” Joel hated chocolate cake but for his girls he’d do anything to please them.
“thank you mum, you’re the best. i owe you one” she said as she turned to go out the front door again to the Adlers house. “no worries honey, if Mrs Adler bakes chocolate chip cookies please bring me one, the baby is craving them like mad” you said as you rubbed your growing stomach. she nodded and said her goodbyes before leaving to spend the worst 30 minutes of her life with the Adlers.
-♡-
“hey baby girl. how was school?” Joel asked as he finally got home, four hours later than expected. “you’re late” she said, completely ignoring his question as her eyes shifted from the TV to him. you had both been waiting for him on the sofa watching Harry Potter and you had fallen asleep not even halfway through the movie. being pregnant had made you extremely tired so it wasn’t a shock to Sarah when she saw you put a blanket over yourself and curl up into a ball on the sofa within the first 10 minutes of the movie playing.
“i know, im sorry. work has been crazy, guys calling in sick, it was just me, uncle Tommy and Dave in today. i meant to phone mum but my phone died” he said as he made his way over to the two of you. his heart melted when he saw you sleeping next to Sarah, you’d never looked cuter. “its fine, we had fun without you anyways” he lifted up your feet so he could sit between you both, careful to not wake you up in the process.
“did you at least get the cake?” she said shyly as Joel got comfortable on the sofa. “oh shit” he put his head in his hands “im sorry honey i completely forgot” she nodded, understanding that he obviously came straight home as soon as he finished work. “mum is probably gonna kill you. she wanted cookies earlier from the Adlers but they were making raisin instead of chocolate chip so i didn’t even bother asking if i could bring one home for her” Sarah said and Joel wrapped his arm around her shoulders, his other resting on your legs.
“i’ll get you guys a cake tomorrow, i promise it just completely slipped my mind” she shook her head, indicating that it was fine and she understood he was stressed. Joel felt you stir and you woke up, your hair all over the place and your bones cracking as you stretched from a very good nap. “hi baby” Joel said softly as you looked at him.
he unwrapped his arms from Sarah’s shoulders for a moment so he could give you a hug and a kiss. “i miss you so much” you said as you sat up so you could rest on him instead of the arm of the sofa. “i missed you too. how are you? how’s the baby?” you nodded, still half asleep.
“fine, kicking like crazy” you were only six months pregnant and your unborn daughter was already giving you a hard time. you rested your head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around both you and Sarah, pulling you both into him. “did you bring home the cake?” you asked making him sigh “no, i’m sorry baby, i forgot” you shrugged, eyes closing again as you tried to fight sleep but it was no use.
“i love mum so much but she could have slept through world war 2 and not have been disturbed at all” she said making Joel laugh quietly, trying not to wake you up. to be fair, carrying this baby had knackered you out and he understood that you needed sleep but sometimes you would be halfway through a conversation with him when he got home from work and you’d be falling asleep whilst you were taking. “to be fair, you aren’t wrong there” he ran a hand through your hair gently as he admired you, you were stunning and he loved you so much.
“anyway, let’s try spend some time together tonight, let’s put on a good film, this is shit” Joel said making Sarah scoff and look at him “that is a lie. Harry Potter is the best” he shook his head. “take it back or you work get your present” she said making him gasp. “you wouldn’t dare do that” he said to her, making her give him the ‘try me’ face which made him quickly change his comment and apologise to her.
she grabbed the box off of the coffee table and handed it to him. he unwrapped his arm from her yet again to try open it with one hand without waking you up. he opened the box and saw his now fixed watched that had been broken for three months. “aww baby that’s so sweet, thank you” he kissed her forehead and tried to put the watch on but failed miserably making Sarah help him put it on. “okay now we can watch your stupid old film dad but don’t expect me to stay awake” she said as they both got comfortable again “i wouldn’t dream of it” he smiled at her.
-♡-
green and blue flashing light woke Sarah up from her sleep. she looked around the room confused, she had somehow ended up in her bedroom and didn’t hear any noise in the house. she sat up as she heard helicopters fly over the house and car alarms go off. she quickly got up calling out for Joel as she walked around the house but she only found you in bed asleep, no sign of Joel.
she felt awful waking you up but she had no other choice. she crept to the side of your bed and shook you awake. “mum, can you wake up please?” you jumped awake when you felt her hand on your shoulder. “what’s the matter sweetheart?” you asked but your question was answered when another helicopter flew over the house. “what the hell?” you said sitting up quickly.
you grabbed your phone which was on the bedside table but there was no service. “what’s happening?” Sarah asked as you quickly got dressed out of your pyjamas. you were going to go outside and you didn’t want your neighbours, if they were awake, to see you in your pyjamas so you put on a tracksuit before walking downstairs. “i don’t know baby”
you turned on the tv and heard the broadcast ‘stay home, do not let anyone into your house. we will post more instructions soon’ you frowned, what the fuck was happening? you checked your phone again, this time trying to phone anyone, your mum, your dad, your brother, Joel and nothing. no calls were going through.
the two of you jumped at the sound of Mercy, the Adlers dog barking at your front door. Sarah quickly put on her shoes and went outside to retrieve the dog and you quickly followed, slipping on your trainers. “Sarah i don’t think we should go outside yet. we should wait for your dad” but she ignored you. she walked outside, bringing Mercy with her to take him back home making you follow after her as quick as you could.
“Sarah please come back inside” you said but the curious girl went inside the Adlers house after she heard a glass breaking. “no Sarah don’t go in there” you sighed, you loved that girl but she did not listen. Sarah was quiet walking into that house, making sure to not make any sudden movements as she did. the noise was coming from the kitchen and she quickly made her way there and almost screamed at the sight infront of her.
you were right behind her, you felt sick to your stomach as you saw Mrs Adlers mum chewing on her daughter’s neck with some sort of fungus growing out of her mouth. your eyes widened and your heart dropped, what the fuck was going on? the once disabled old woman looked up at the two of you and quickly stood up screeching and running after you when you told Sarah to run.
you weren’t as quick as you used to be but you were luckily quick enough the run away from this infected woman, she had fallen over the crinkled carpet giving you enough time to escape. “Sarah we need to get back in the house right now” you shouted as you grabbed her hand and tried to pull her into the house but as you did Joel’s truck pulled up.
“get in the truck right now” Joel shouted at you both, he sounded scared and he was never ever scared. this made you feel even more sick than before. he had a wrench in his hand and he quickly pulled the two of you behind him when the screeching sound approached you again. you all looked at the front door to see the elderly woman fall over the steps of her front porch.
Tommy got out of the car with a huge rifle in his hand making your eyes fill with tears, you were absolutely terrified but you didn’t want to show Sarah that you were scared, if she saw that she would feel even more frightened then she already was. you grabbed ahold of her hand and tried to pull her into the truck but she wouldn’t budge. it was like she was frozen in fear.
the old woman’s head shot up, her eyes were black and she started crawling towards you then she stood up and ran towards Joel and Tommy. “what are we doing Joel” without a second thought Joel cracked the wrench on her head making her fall to the floor. you and Sarah both gasped at what he had just done. Joel was never a violent person and this had shocked you.
he dropped the wrench and they both turned to look at you and Sarah. both of your faces were filled with fear and Joel quickly pulled Sarah into him “you killed her” she said, voice filled with fear “i know baby i’m sorry” he kissed her forehead and looked at you. you couldn’t believe what you just saw. you were confused and scared. “we gotta go” Tommy said making you all quickly get in the car.
you were sat in the back with Sarah who hugged you closely “it’s alright honey, it’ll all be over soon i promise” you whispered and you rubbed your hand up and down her arm, trying to comfort her but also trying to comfort yourself. you could feel the baby kicking vigorously “are you okay y/n? you aren’t hurt are you?” Joel asked as he looked back at the two of you. you just shook your head.
you didn’t know why but all this fear made you wish you were back to being a little kid, wishing that your mum was there to comfort you when you were scared yet now you were the adult comforting your child and you didn’t know if you would ever even see your mum again.
“dad-” Sarah said but Joel quickly cut her off “i don’t know” he said like he knew what she was going to ask him. “they’re saying it’s a virus, some kind of parasite” Tommy added making Joel look at him. “does it come from terrorists?” she asked making Joel repeat himself “we don’t know”
“are we sick?” she asked and this time you answered “no, none of us are sick” Joel nodded “of course not” he sounded mad but you didn’t know what at. “why were they blowing things up?” her eyes were filled with tears as she asked all these questions.
“no idea, there’s no phone, no radio” her eyes darted between Tommy and Joel “how do you know?” she asked, voice laced with concern “what?” Joel looked back at the two of you, cuddled up together with you trying to act your calmest but he knew you, you were freaking out.
“how do you know we aren’t sick?” she was practically crying now. “they’re saying it’s mostly people in the city, that’s why they have the highway blocked off” Tommy said but he was quickly silenced when he drove past a burning house of one of his friends.
“the Adlers would take nana to the city, so that’s why they were sick?” Joel nodded “your right, that’s probably why” his thick texan accent was filled with concern but he tried his best to stay calm. “we are going to be fine, trust me” Tommy said but he sounded unsure of what he had just said.
he drive around the corner and quickly slowed down when he saw a small family. “what are you doing?” Joel asked and Tommy just shook his head “they have a kid Joel” Joel quickly cut him off. “so do we, are you forgetting that my wife is pregnant?”
“Joel Tommy is right, they have a kid we should help them” he turned back to you “no, we don’t know them. keep driving Tommy” he’d never spoken this was before and this was definitely not the Joel you knew. you just prayed that whatever this is would go away and you could go back to your normal lives.
-♡-
you were driving through the town, planes flying low, catastrophe everywhere and you were just scared. “right keep going down this way” Joel said as Tommy drove down a side road leading to a whole group of people who were fighting and running away from the danger. “keep driving Tommy” Joel said even though there were people everywhere.
“are you kidding? Joel i can’t just drive through a whole group of people” Joel cut him off shouting “just keep going damn it” cars were crashing into each other, the sounds of people screaming made your eyes fill with tears. the next thing you knew the cinema doors cracked open with a lot more people coming out of it, all of them crying.
“shit” Tommy said as he quickly stoped the car “go go, fuck Tommy go get out of here” Joel said as he looked behind him out of the truck and slammed his hand on the dashboard “i’m going, i’m going” Tommy started reversing back, careful to not hit anyone in the process.
Sarah looked out the back window and so did you, seeing the huge airplane falling rapidly toward the floor. “Tommy, you need get out of here” you shouted as the plane darted toward you. “fuck Tommy go now” Joel shouted but it was too late, the huge plane crashed on the ground exploding into a million pieces.
the huge flame almost blinded you, you felt sickened at the thought of all those people on the plane that didn’t even stand a chance. “oh shit” you heard Sarah say as a huge chunk of the plane crashed into you car and then your whole world went black.
-♡-
“y/n” you felt someone’s hand on your shoulder as you awoke from the darkness “y/n honey we need to get you out, can you get out slowly for me angel?” Joel’s soft voice filled your mind as you sat up, a sharp shooting pain went right through your stomach making you groan. “my stomach is killing me” you said as you put a hand on your belly. you looked out the window and saw Sarah sitting on the floor and Joel crouching next to where you were sitting.
“don’t panic, it’s probably nothing okay?” Joel’s heart dropped when he heard you say that, a pain in your stomach was never a good sign especially when you are pregnant. “can you get out sweetheart? or do you need help?” you just nodded and started making your way out of the car.
once you had gotten out of the car you stood next to Sarah and saw Tommy was on the opposite side “we gotta get off of the street” he said as you stood up right, you right hand still back on your stomach hoping to feel any sign of movement. “Sarah can’t walk, i’ll have to carry her. do you think you can walk?” you nodded again. “shit” you heard Tommy shout as a police car crashed into Tommys now ruined truck.
the car set alight and you were lucky you even made it out of the car that quick before it crashed otherwise you would have been dead and you wouldn’t have wanted your family to see that. “Tommy” Joel shouted as he tried to see Tommys face through the flames. “i’m okay, head to the river and i’ll meet you there” with a simple nod Joel picked up Sarah and pushed you behind him.
“stay close okay?” he gave you a quick kiss before you both started making your way through the side roads trying to find a way to the river. the two of you stopped once you saw a group of bodies with people eating them. “what the fuck” you whispered as you saw this horrific sight in front of you. one of the people shot up, looking at you twitching weirdly.
“go” Joel pushed you in front of him and you both started running through a random cafe. the man chased you, snarling and screeching as he followed. you could hear the man tripping over different things but you didn’t dare look behind you. you could hear Joel comforting Sarah who was now crying as you finally made it outside but you didn’t stop running until a gunshot filled the silent field.
you and Joel both stopped, turning to look back and the now dead body in front of you. “don’t move” you heard someone say next to you as a bright light shone on the three of you. “my daughters hurt her ankle and my wife is pregnant” the man lowered his gun and started talking to his radio “i’ve got three civilians by the river, one of them injured, one pregnant”
you couldn’t make out what the other person was saying but your thoughts were cut short when Sarah spoke up “what about uncle Tommy?” she questioned Joel just shook his head “i’m gonna get you both safe first then i’ll go back for him okay?” she just nodded and you all looked back at the masked man. “yes sir….. yes sir”
he raised his gun “we are not sick” Joel said as the man approached the three of you. “sir, i said we are not sick” with that the masked man shot a round of bullets and Joel heard you and Sarah scream. you all rolled down a small ditch and Joel quickly turned to look at the man who was now approaching him with his gun raised. “i’m sorry” he said but before he could shoot Joel another shot was fired, killing him instantly.
he looked up to see Tommy with his gun raised, he had never been so happy to see his brother in his whole life. “are you okay?” Tommy asked Joel who was just grazed by a bullet and Joel just nodded but Tommys eyes shifted to you who was covered in blood and gasping for air. “oh god” he said making Joel turn around to look at you.
all you could do was feel a throbbing pain in you stomach. Joel quickly got up and ran to you and Tommy made sure Sarah was okay and turned her away from you. he knew Joel wouldn’t want her seeing you like this and it was bad enough he had to see you like this. “no no it’s okay” he could see the blood soaking through your jumper, the once grey colour was now a soaked dark red and it was growing by the second.
“you’re okay, move your hand honey” Joel said once you’d moved your hand, putting pressure on the wound. you cried in pain as you still gasped for air. “i know i know im so sorry sweetheart i am” he said and he pressed harder on the wound to stop it from bleeding out more. you managed to speak through your pain as you grabbed onto Joel’s arm “go” he shook his head.
“go Joel, take” you took a few more deep breaths as you tried to calm yourself down “take Sarah and go” he just shook his head again. “no, i’m not leaving you like this. i can get help and you’re gonna survive this” he said, his eyes filling with tears as he saw your tired but pained expression.
“you know how much i love you, i don’t” you closed your eyes as you breathed deeply again “i don’t want you seeing me like this” you stuttered out. you felt a tear roll down your cheek as you realised what was about to happen to you. “meeting you was the best thing to ever happen to me” you could hear Sarah sobbing next to Tommy and you hated that she was even watching you, laying there covered in blood.
“i’m sorry” he said as he sat down next to you, he took the pressure off of your wound and you were grateful he had given up, there was no way you were going to be able to survive this and you didn’t want to prolong it. you just shook your head at his comment. “don’t-”
you felt pain all over your body but you felt tired, so tired that you wanted to sleep desperately. “i love you, i love Sarah. just take her and run okay?” he had tears now rolling down his cheeks, his bloody hand now stroking your cheek softly. “im not leaving you here on your own” you just smiled at him. you knew he wouldn’t leave but you wanted to save him from the trauma of seeing you go.
“i know” you looked at him and he kissed you, one last for however long he has left on this earth. “i love you so much” you heard him say and with that your eyes closed. he sobbed quietly, you were gone and nothing was ever going to bring you back.
you were carrying his unborn child and he wished he could go back in time and taken the bullet instead of you. you were this ethereal soul who didn’t deserve to die this way and he hated it. he hated it so much. he tried his best to calm himself down as he took your wedding ring off of your finger and put it in his pocket hoping to keep it safe. it wasn’t like someone was going to steal it but he took it off so he could have something with him that was yours.
he kissed your forehead and carefully placed your body back on the floor and turned toward Sarah and Tommy, he had tear stains on his cheeks but his expression was neutral. “let’s go” he said, he was emotionless “dad, we can’t just leave her-” he cut Sarah off “i said let’s go” with that the three of them left and never looked back.

You Should Watch The Spirealm/致命游戏
Tumblr media
What is it?
A 2024 cdrama based on the danmei webnovel Kaleidoscope of Death. It's a censored version of a BL novel, with thriller, mystery, and horror aspects, 38 45-minute episodes.
What's it about?
A young man accidentally gets drawn into a virtual reality video game that involves passing tests in a series of doors. Once you start playing, you cannot stop and if you die in the game, you die in real life. He meets a frustratingly mysterious, competent, and attractive man in the doors who recruits him to be part of his game solving team. Well, specifically to be his partner. Lots of gay subtext ensues as they fight through door after door seeking to get to the final door in order to end the evils of the game. (The book is a little different, as it's more supernatural.)
So basically it's a infinite flow deadly game situation, with m/m romance.
Main Characters:
Tumblr media
Lin Quishi/Ling Juishi (novel/drama versions of his name)- Our protagonist. A smart graduate in computer science, good at games. Well meaning but a little naive to start out.
Tumblr media
Ruan Nanzhu/Ruan Lanzhu - Our love interest. In the novel he crossdresses often and he presents as a woman for the whole first arc. Super intelligent, expert at the game, extremely flirty but reserved at the same time. Got one look at Lin Quishi and said That One.
Other Characters, aka the Found Family:
Ruan Nanzhu's team consists of a pair of twin brothers (one young and dumb and one uptight), a hot doctor vet, a woman whose main job seems to be cooking dinner, and a not-so-stable dude.
Tumblr media
Then there's Li Dong Yuan, a rival player who becomes reluctantly-tolerated friend, and his cute female assistant. And Tan Zao Zao, an actress who hires the team to help her in the games and also sticks around persistently.
Tumblr media
They're pretty much all delightful and some may start off silly/annoying and end up breaking the hell out of your heart.
Okay, but what's the VIBE?
Big Guardian vibes. The team of lovable scamps investigating weird supernatural (?) type mysteries? While the boss and the guy he fell for have a situationship? Totally. This definitely has more of a horror feel than Guardian, though, even though they tone things down from the novel.
Each door is its own setting, and some are more scary than others. So one is a mental hospital, one is a traditional village, one is a gothic manor, etc. Lots of tragic female ghosts who have been wronged and are getting revenge. The one that really creeped me out was the one with the children with the eggs. It does a lot of creepy rather than really horror. It's not truly gory at all, as it was made to air on Chinese TV and they have strict limits to violence.
Tumblr media
The camerawork and set decor is really nice, actually. It looks great most of the time and a lot of the effects seem to be practical. It looks a lot better than Guardian is what I'm saying, if not quite to a film level.
How Gay is It?
Oh MY GOD. Okay look, this show was NOT supposed to be released, but thank whoever put it up for that two hours. It's really incredibly blatant, like really as much as Word of Honor was, although because the plot is focused elsewhere it's maybe not quite as in your face. But the actors UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT and there's so much longing and SO much implication. After a while, everyone basically just treats the main couple as a couple even thought it's never talked about.
I mean episode one there's Only One Bed and at the end of their first meeting Ruan Nanzhu gives Lin Quishi a RING. I mean, the flirting is also BLATANT. I also just find this a really romantic show, despite the Not Talking About It thing.
Tumblr media
Is it a Happy Ending?
So, It's Complicated. I'm trying not to spoil anything and this show is pretty easy to have spoiled for you. There's definitely a good bit of tragedy in this show in general. Characters die and it's really sad. Like, this is a plot with stakes and if no one we liked ever died, it wouldn't be the same.
I will say I consider this show to have a happy ending, but you do go through some pain first. Essentially the main couple does have a separation, but there is a reunion before the end. There's also a scene that will give Guardian fans fucking PTSD, but the show does a fix-it on its own, okay? I do feel that I have to warn for that, though.
Tumblr media
Where can I watch it?
The show is legally available on Viki with a subscription. Obviously there are other ways to find it as well, and links went around before it was picked up by Viki so check tags if you need those.
I really hope this encourages some people to watch this show, as it's really well made and a great time. It's one of a very small number of danmei adaptations we've gotten, but a lot less people have watched it since it's modern and had a weird release. Honestly, it's well written and acted and filmed and you should give it a shot.
(All gifs by @ruanbaijie, thank you very much for allowing me to use them. Check out their blog, there's such gorgeous stuff there!)

alessia and r watching a scary movie and alessia being afraid and r “protecting” her😊
“Please,” Alessia begs you.
There are very few things that you wouldn’t do for Alessia when she pleads with you like this. Very few things that you’d say no to, but watching a horror movie might be one of them.
“You don’t even like horror movies,” you remind Alessia.
“But it’s Halloween,” Alessia counters. “It’s tradition.”
“Halloween was last week,” you point out.
“And we were with our national teams so we have to celebrate now.”
Alessia is being very persuasive, especially with the way she looks at you with those beautiful blue eyes that you love, an expression on her face that has you slightly worried you might actually break her heart by saying no.
“And since when has this been a tradition?” you ask her. “We’ve never done it before.”
“We’d only been on like two dates by last Halloween,” Alessia reminds you. “This is our first one properly together and I’ve decided this is our new tradition. But if you don’t want to, if you’re too scared…”
And that’s what tips you over the edge. Because you like to be the protector in the relationship, the one who deals with the spiders and looks after Alessia when she’s sick and buys her nice things because she deserves to be treated like a princess. And even though you’ve been dating Alessia for long enough that she knows the real you, that sometimes you like to be the princess too, you can’t have your reputation being damaged when it inevitably gets out to the rest of your teammates that you refused to watch a horror movie.
“Fine,” you concede. “Put the damn film on. I’ll see what snacks we’ve got in the kitchen.”
When you get back from the kitchen with a bowl of crisps, the opening titles are already rolling on the television screen. If watching the movie wasn’t bad enough, Alessia has also decided to turn off the lights.
“Come on,” she says, patting the cushion beside her. “I’ll look after you if you get scared.”
“Oh please,” you say, rolling your eyes as you sit down next to her and offer out the crisps. “A tenner says you scream first.”
“Not likely,” Alessia says, as she curls into your side and reaches for a handful of crisps. “Anyway, it shouldn’t be that bad. Just a few jump scares.”
The first jump scare comes about ten minutes into the film. You’d been expecting it but it still catches you slightly. Alessia jumps too, then she cuddles further into your side and you take the opportunity to wrap your arm around her and hold her close.
“Scared yet?” you tease her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“Just surprised me, that’s all,” she murmurs back, helping herself to more crisps.
You’re not really following the plot, more concerned with trying to prepare yourself for the next jump scare so that you don’t end up tipping the bowl of crisps over your lap, but it starts getting weird. Something about a demon, you don’t really understand the backstory, but shortly after it gets weird, it gets gory, and Alessia didn’t warn you about that.
“That’s disgusting,” Alessia groans, as one of the characters meets a particularly grisly end.
You wince too, but manage to keep your eyes on the screen, even as you lose your appetite for any more of the snacks.
“We don’t have to watch…”
“We’re watching it,” Alessia cuts you off, though one of her hands finds your free one, threading your fingers together.
Maybe the movie wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Alessia’s fingers clamp down around yours every time she gets a little tense, and with her tucked into your side, your other arm draped protectively around her shoulder, you can definitely see the perks of a scary movie. You’d watch a thousand horror movies for this, if it means cuddling with the girl you love, flexing your protective side as you try to pretend that you’re not also scared shitless by the demon that torments the characters on screen.
Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, you think to yourself, as the monster appears out of nowhere, causing you both to jump and cling just a little tighter to each other. But if you have to watch this one scary movie, there’s nobody you’d rather do it with than Alessia.
Another character meets their demise, this one somehow even more violent than the last. You can barely keep your eyes on the screen, watching through your lashes as Alessia buries her face into your chest.
“I can’t watch,” she whines. “That’s gross.”
Another spatter of blood, another shudder from the girl in your arms, and you wonder why you’re putting yourself through this. If it’s just to cuddle Alessia, well surely you could do that during Harry Potter or Finding Nemo without having to also worry about being able to sleep tonight.
Alessia had been insistent that you watch this film, but you’re not even halfway through yet and you’re going to struggle to get through the rest, which is why you decide to ask, “Do you want to…?”
“Yes!” Alessia practically shrieks, lifting her head from your chest to look at you with pleading eyes. “Let’s watch something else. Please!”
Tomorrow you’ll tease her about this, you’re certain of it, and you’re also sure that Alessia will deny being so scared that she just had to switch the movie off. But as you’ve already proven, you can’t say no to Alessia. So you grab the remote and start flicking through family friendly options instead.
“How about Shrek?” you ask Alessia. She murmurs unintelligibly in agreement and you press play, more relieved than you’ll admit aloud that you’re not watching the horror movie any more. “Ogres, dragons, a talking gingerbread man … tell me if you get scared, yeah?”
“Piss off,” Alessia mumbles, around a mouthful of crisps, but she curls back into your side, just as close but much less tense than before.

anyways highschool au where they dissect frogs in class evan wordlessly scalpels out its heart first despite instructions and nudges it over to barty on a little glass plate IF YOU EVEN CARE
!! I CARE SM!!! this is the cutest hc and i’ve been brainrotting about this ask ever since you sent it like i genuinely am possessed..i feel sick
you’ve got me imagining this whole high school au with every cliché. pure twee teenage suburban melancholia where the rosier twins have a treehouse in their backyard and double-knot the laces of their converse and get the cuffs of their jeans soggy sitting in the wet grass on the football field and lily makes homecoming court and barty®ulus skip every school dance to eat mcdonald’s in formal wear and they sit under the bleachers w scraped knees and drop a lit cigarette between their forearms just to see who’ll pull away first
evan who was homeschooled and lives with his grandparents and only wears old baggy clothes from goodwill. he doesn’t talk much. people call him weird but he never eats lunch alone because he has a sister. pandora doesn’t mind being ostracized and puts unlit incense sticks in her buns and throws shoebox funerals for roadkill and squeezes her brothers hand under their homeroom desk
evan who doesn’t mind either but sometimes he imagines what having friends would be like. he writes down things he would say to them in his spiral bound notebooks instead of paying attention in calculus
barty who is self-explanatory. barty who is exactly what you’d expect. barty who sits next to evan in chemistry class with their knees knocking together under the desk. barty who draws tic-tac-toe on evan’s notebooks and always lets him win. who picks out the gory titles for him in blockbuster video and laughs at his jokes and who isn’t his friend, not exactly, but something close. barty his lab partner. barty who lets him borrow his jacket and who throws rocks at his window and who meets him in his treehouse in the middle of the night. LIKE!!!!!!!!

Hello! Not sure if you share headcanons regarding ships, but if so, then do you have any in regard to Xanace? Feel free to discard this if otherwise ^^
Hello! You know, I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about ships outside of some jokes here and there, but I’ll see what I can do! No Killing Game AU because I don’t know what to do within the KG, and mostly fluff because I'm not an angsty kinda mood :v
Getting Together
-Xander and Ace disliked each other upon first meeting in Hope’s Peak, kinda like canon. You know, Ace’s rudeness annoyed Xander, who scared Ace in return.
-But… they shared classes with Mai, who was hellbent on everyone getting along. Somehow she manages to get them to talk in friendlier terms, and they actually find out they have quite a bit in common. I hope you know enough about Mai for that to make sense.
-They start acting a bit like each other’s impulse control, with Xander getting Ace to back down from meaningless fights and Ace rightfully calling out Xander whenever he gets in too deep in something revolution-related and doesn’t get the help he needs (“what? So you think you’re so much smarter than all of us that you’re the only one that can steal those documents? How about you go sleep for the first time this week and I show you how easy it is!”)
-Ace starts feeling safer around Xander because of his inhuman strength and general protectiveness, and Xander starts feeling like he can relax around Ace. Ace is actually pretty funny when he's not being mean, turns out.
-Ace is actually the one to confess first, and he did it by writing a love letter because he was too scared to say it out loud... prompting Xander to first ask Whit and Arei if they were pranking him, because "there's no way Ace writes in cursive." The misunderstanding got resolved quickly, and they got together.
Fluff
-Ace is uniquely capable of getting Xander our of the worst of moods. If Xander's feeling broody and doesn't wanna talk about it, all he has to do to cheer up is watch Ace's silly antics for a little bit, and he'll be fine.
-Whenever Xander gets pissed off at some form of corruption or another, Ace will join in on the hate, even if he has no idea what the situation is.
-Ace likes calling in Xander whenever he gets scared of something, which is pretty often. There are a few dents in Hope's Peak's walls where Xander threw something at a spider on Ace's behalf.
CW: Eating disorder
-Xander always makes sure Ace eats the right amount and healthily, he's inescapable in this aspect. Funnily enough, Ace actually really dislikes a lot of the food Xander makes (way too spicy for him, it's canon the Rebel eats with a lot of spice), which helps him find the motivation to make proper meals for himself as to avoid being forced to eat those monstrosities. Conversely, Xander actually likes Ace's food... provided he's allowed to add a few metric tons of condiments and spices to it.
CW Over
-Xander gets roped into the Halloween Trio (Veronika-Arturo-Ace) movie nights that Vero drags Ace into. He doesn't actually like horror movies (particularly gory ones), but he enjoys it because Ace consistently clings to him for comfort during the scary parts.
-Xander loves Ace's family, because it's so big. 9 siblings?! He knows it's a little weird, but a lot of them remind him of his own family before they, y'know... so he likes hanging out at Ace's house because it kinda fills that hole in his heart.
-A lot of Ace's siblings make fun of Xander's British accent. He's learnt to accept this. They also make fun of Ace a lot, but they do it less in Xander's presence because he scary.
-So much corruption in the horse racing industry gets exposed, courtesy of Xander. So much.
(I don't actually know how corrupt that industry is but based on a quick google search, and given there's money and gambling involved, I'm assuming "at least quite a bit")
-Arei: "How did Ace Markey get a boyfriend before you?"
Whit: "I guess he was done... horsing around xD" (<- Actually very depressed about this fact)
-David is very supportive, since he wants to support anything his idol friend wants to do. He also happens to be mostly exempt from Ace's insults, since Xander gets sad whenever Ace says something bad about him.
-Ace: "Basically you're stupid and Xander's right."
Min: "Do you have any idea of what we're actually discussing?"
Ace: "No, and I don't need to."
-Xander isn't scared of horses or horse-riding, so he asks Ace if he could take him on a ride some time. Ace finally does it one day, except he rides the horse at Ultimate Jockey speed to get it over with faster.
Xander still isn't scared of horse-riding, but he'll probably never ride behind Ace again.
---
I hope that's enough! Thanks for the ask!

hey friends i hate coming around asking for this but here we are. last night around 3am i had what we think was a seizure. i got pretty fucked up bc i was alone in the parking lot walking to my apartment. i stopped to sit down on a retaining wall bc i felt so weird. next thing i remember is being face first on the ground convulsing & unable to stop. im not sure how long it was bc i was out for most of it. however landing face fucking first into the asphalt hurt a lot. my face got so messed up, my neck & shoulders are fucked up, & im still having pains in my abdomen from thr severe contraction of my muscles. i mean, i was face down/ass up completely & couldn't at all break my fall bc i couldn't move anything. when i was convulsing i was basically grinding/bashing my face into the asphalt over & over.
so tha thing is my glasses got absolutely demolished. i luckily have a pair of sunglasses that i can use, but that means low vision & the inability to drive at night. thus to the point, i have no idea how much the appointment + new glasses is going to be but normally my lens range in the 200-300$ teir bc my eyes ain't so good. add in the frames & actual appointment, ive no idea how much it'll cost. plus i need it done more than asap. bringing us to the point of this post where i asked yall for money.l to get new glasses. a little can go a long way & anything will help. reblogging & boosting too please please rb & boost this if you can. its hard time ya know lol

Tumblr media
Wes is acting weird. Weirder than usual.
You’ve felt it ever since the night of Amber’s party. He had always been one of Tara’s quieter friends. Shy, almost. But he was sweet, and he’d always had a lot in common with Tara. They both liked those awful, gory horror movies. Video-games. They had the same taste in food and in books. In fact, out of all of Tara’s friends, you think you liked Wes the most. He’d been the first to welcome you into the group when you’d started dating Tara, and he always went out of his way to make you feel like you belonged.
But over the past week he’d been acting even stranger.
It had started in the cafeteria on Monday, when you’d arrived late to lunch and climbed into your usual spot in Tara’s lap. He’d watched you close as you’d kissed her softly, fed her the last of your grapes. He was just lonely, you figured. He wanted a girlfriend of his own, maybe.
But then Tuesday he’d looked down at your entwined hands in the hall and made a face. Something you couldn’t quite place in his expression.
Wednesday he’d left the table the moment you and Tara sat down.
And Thursday he spent the entire biology lesson staring at the back of Tara’s head. And something clicked.
“Wes has a crush on you.” You tell Tara that night. She’s in the kitchen, one hand stirring the potatoes, the other minding the chicken. You’d been thinking about it all afternoon. Stewing about it all afternoon. The idea of him and her made your stomach writhe with hot, wanton jealousy.
Tara looks up at you for a moment. Then, she quirks her eyebrow and snorts.
“It’s not funny.” You tell her, smacking her arm gently.
“Why on earth would you think that?” She asks. She’s amused, you can tell by the sparkle in her eyes. You’re not laughing.
“I caught him staring at you today.” You say, “All through biology. He couldn’t take his eyes off you.”
She stirs the chicken, a smile playing on her lips.
“Maybe he was daydreaming.” She suggests, a little wry.
“Babe. He wasn’t daydreaming. He was staring. He has a crush on you.”
Tara puts down her spoon, reaches for you.
“Wes doesn’t have a crush on me,” Tara assures. She pulls you into her, presses a gentle kiss to your forehead. “He’s like my brother. You have nothing to worry about.”
She makes her point with a kiss. Strokes the hair out of your eyes.
“It’s not you I’m worried about.” You mumble. You feel hot, a little tingly. It had been hard for you at first to understand why Tara got so angry when she thought someone liked you. You think you understand it now. Anger burns under your skin. Anger towards him.
“Stop worrying.” She kisses you once more. Retracts to go back to her cooking, “Wes is harmless. And he doesn’t like me. I’ve known him forever.”
It feels unfair, the way she’s allowed to brush this off so easily. Your mind can’t help but wander. Dan. Sam. Sadie. Chase. Amber. All with one thing in common.
“If he had a crush on me, you’d have killed him by now.” You don’t often bring it up, the elephant in the room. It was unspoken between you. Like if you didn’t talk about it, it didn’t exist.
Tara looks up at you. She isn’t smiling anymore.
“That’s different.” She says, quiet. Your lip twitches.
“How?”
“You know how.”
You do know how. She’d explained it, one night when you were entwined and your curiosity had gotten the better of you. The Rage, she’d called it. She described the feeling. Hot, ever-present, like burning bright fury coursing through her veins.
“Well, maybe that’s how I’m feeling right now.”
It feels like a low blow, the moment the words leave your lips. If you were honest, you had no idea what The Rage felt like. This was something different. Something less. Insecurity, maybe. Jealousy. You didn’t want Wes thinking of your girlfriend the way only you were supposed to.
“So what are you saying?” Tara asks, “You want to kill him? You want me to kill him?”
You hesitate a moment.
“No. Of course not.”
“Good.” She says. There’s tension in her shoulders. She stirs the potatoes, a little more violently, “Because I won’t. He’s my friend.”
She points her spatula at you, accusingly, “And besides, you made me promise-”
“I know.” You cut her off. Rub your eyes, “I’m sorry. Forget it. I don’t know why I said that.”
You lean into her, press your forehead to her shoulder. She’s tense. You press your lips to the back of her neck, trying to soothe her. Trying to apologize.
“You’re right, he was probably daydreaming.” You say and she relaxes.
Wes isn’t in school the next day. It’s still there in the back of your mind, the idea that he wants your girlfriend. You try to shake it, the horrible feeling of suspicion that seeps into your bones. He has no chance with her even if he does like her, you tell yourself, She loves you. She wants you.
If nothing else you can believe that.
It’s Friday, date night, and Tara’s taking you out to a new place that opened up a couple of towns over. You want to wear something special, look nice for her, so you insist she drives you back to your house so you can grab your outfit after school. She parks in her usual spot, down a small side street so your dad doesn’t see her and switches off the engine.
“I’ll only be five minutes.” You tell her, leaning over the console of the car to kiss her, “Thanks, baby.”
And you exit the car and dash up to the house.
Your dad isn’t home, a small blessing, so you make your way upstairs and rifle through your closet, looking for the dress you want.
Not a minute later, someone is ringing your doorbell.
When you answer, it’s Wes standing at the door.
He looks terrible. Dark circles under his eyes. He’s jittery, nervous. He swallows when he sees you.
“YN.” His voice is serious, “Can I come in?”
This is it, you think as he plays with the can of soda you’ve offered him, he’s about to tell me he’s going to make a play for my girlfriend.
He’s refused your offer to sit down so you stand, watching as he paces back and forth through your kitchen.
Your stomach writhes, that familiar feeling of jealousy sinking in.
Tara will rebuff him.
It’s that voice in your head, trying to calm you.
But then again, what if she doesn’t?
Wes sits. Flattens his hands on the table. His knee is bouncing, nervous. He looks as though he might throw up.
“I have to tell you something.”
You blink back at him. Grit your teeth.
“Alright.”
You wait, but he takes a minute. Decent of him to pay you a visit, you think briefly, as decent as a person could be when he’s about to try and steal your girlfriend from you. Your mind flashes to all those times he’d been with her alone. Taking her to the cinema to watch whatever latest slasher was showing. Talking for hours with her about the importance of elevated horror over a plate of fries at the local diner. You wonder if that’s how he’d fallen for her. A beautiful girl talking animatedly with him about a bunch of teenagers who’d been carved up by a masked killer.
If only he knew.
“I don’t want you to freak out.” Wes says. His eyes are wide, earnest. “I’ve thought really long and hard about this and I wanted to come here first. You deserve the truth.”
He runs a hand through his bleached hair. He’s handsome, you suppose. You could see the appeal. They’d make an attractive couple. Your heart clenches painfully at the thought.
Tara loves you. Tara’s killed for you. Tara doesn’t want him.
The voice is back. You’re grateful for it. Wes could tell Tara he wanted her until he was blue in the face, it wouldn’t make a lick of a difference.
“Wes-” You say. You think for a moment, trying to pick your words carefully, “I know what you’re going to say. And-”
“You don’t.” Wes says. His leg is bouncing again, “Please, YN. I need to get this out now or I won’t be able to say it.”
You stare.
“Do you remember that party a few weeks back? The night Amber died?” His voice is shaky, uneven. You frown. That’s when Wes realized he was in love with Tara? The night one of his best friends was being murdered?
“Of course.” You say.
Your phone buzzes in your hand. You look down at it, see Tara’s name flash across the screen.
almost done babygirl? not getting any younger over here.
“Is that Tara? Don’t answer it.” Wes says, voice urgent. “Please.”
You put your phone on the counter.
“Wes, I have dinner reservations. Whatever you need to say-”
“My mom has this theory.” He interrupts, “I’ve overheard her talking about before. The attacks, they’re not random. They’re all connected.”
Something niggles at you in the pit of your stomach.
“I’m confused.” You say, “What are we talking about?”
“Amber made a pass at you that night.” Wes continues on as if he didn’t hear you, “In front of all of us, do you remember?”
Your stomach flips. Wes is staring at you, his eyes wild. Suddenly, you think you’ve got everything wrong.
“Yes.” You say, voice low, “So what?”
“Sadie was your ex-girlfriend. Chase was your best friend.” Wes says, “Everyone knew he liked you. Including Tara.”
The room’s getting smaller, closing in. You press your hand to the counter, suddenly wishing you’d sat down.
“The other two - I don’t know, maybe they liked you. Maybe you had a thing with one of them at some point.” He’s rambling but you can barely hear him. “I think they were killed because they liked you. Same with Sadie, same with Chase, same with Amber.”
The blood’s rushing to your head. You grip the counter so hard your fingers turn white.
Wes doesn’t seem to notice. He takes another shaky breath, looks you straight in the eyes.
“I think Ghostface is killing people who are connected to you.” He says. “YN, I think Tara is Ghostface.”
The room spins. The hair on the back of your neck rises tall. Every atom in your body courses thick, fast, in a mesh of panic and fear and confusion.
He knows.
His eyes are wide, desperate to convince you.
“Please don’t panic.” He says. He rises, reaches for you. His hands press hard around your forearms. Your face is white, he must see how you look as if you might pass out.
“I know it sounds crazy. I know it’s a shock. But I’m certain. I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t certain.”
Your mouth opens, then closes. You have questions, so many questions. You want to know how he knows, what he knows. You want to know everything. You don’t know how to ask.
“Have you told anyone else?” The most pressing question spills from your mouth before you can stop it. His mom is the sheriff, god, his mom is the sheriff. If she knows it’s over. Tara will be in a cell by sunset.
He shakes his head, wildly, “No. I wanted to come to you first. I wanted to keep you away from her before she could hurt you too.”
You exhale. You can’t hide your relief. He catches it, his eyes knit tight in confusion.
“YN, do you understand what I just told you? Tara is Ghostface.”
You take a breath. Look him in the eye. Wes is sweet. He’s nice. And Tara is his friend. You can talk him down, you know you can.
“Wes, that’s-” You take a shaky breath, “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.”
He stares at you, shakes his head.
“No, no it’s not. YN-”
“Tara is not Ghostface.” You tell him firmly, “She’s my girlfriend. She’s your friend.”
“It’s her, YN. I’m sure. Think about it. Where was she, that night that Amber died?” He’s staring at you, searchingly, desperate to convince you.
“She was with me.” You insist, “She drove me home. I stayed with her, in her bed. She was with me the whole night. If she had left, I would have known.”
Something flickers behind his eyes. His eyebrows knit tight in confusion.
“She didn’t drive you home.” He says, voice a little flat. “I saw Sam pick you up. I watched Tara put you in the car.”
Your heartbeat pounds. Idiot, you think, of course he saw you. why did you lie?
The look in your eyes is all he needs. His blue eyes blink back at you as he pieces it together. Hurt, confusion, realization.
“Oh my god.” He says, as it dawns on him, “You already know. You already know it’s her.”
Your fingers grip white on the countertop. You swallow hard.
“Wes. You’re confused. You don’t know what you’re saying.”
He backs away from you slowly, runs his fingers through his bleach blonde hair.
“I can’t believe this. I can’t fucking believe this. Are you in on it with her?” He’s staring at you with wide eyes. He’s scared.
“I’m such a fucking idiot.”
“Wes, calm down.” You reach for him but he jerks back away from you. “Wes.”
Your mind races. In all your effort to unravel his theory, you’d only confirmed it more. Tara flashes through your mind. Her sweet smile. Dark, chocolate-eske eyes. Freckle-kissed face.
You think of Wes driving madly to the police station, pointing the finger at her. You think of the Sheriff pulling up to Tara’s house in a squad car and dragging her away in handcuffs.
You think of Tara in a cell. Tara in an orange jumpsuit. The smack of the Judge’s gavel as he declares he guilty and locks her away for life. Far away from Woodsboro. Far away from you.
You’re thinking of her when you grab the knife.
It happens in a flash. Wes launches himself at the door, trying to make a break for it. Adrenaline rushes through you. The handle is cool around your palm as you wrap your fingers around it. You surge forward, grab the back of Wes’ shirt and tug him towards you. In a panicked, heavy swing, you thrust the knife forward and sink it into Wes’ back.
He cries out, stumbles forward onto the carpet. The knife is lodged deep between his shoulder blades. You don’t think, you act. Rush forward and take the handle between your fingertips. He yells out again as you pull the blade out. Thrust it forward once more, then twice, then three times until his whimpering is dying down and your hands are coated thick with his blood.
He falls limp beneath you, face down on the cool tile of the kitchen floor. Your hands shake as the knife clatters to the fall.
Over the blood in your ears, you hear your phone buzzing.
You stumble backwards, grab it from the kitchen counter. It’s Tara, her smiling face looks back at you as you coat the phone bloody.
“Five minutes my ass.” Her voice is light, she’s teasing, “Maybe I need to buy you a watch.”
“Tara.” You whimper into the phone. Your hands are shaking. You stare down at Wes’ bloodied body.
He stares back at you, lifeless. Dead.
“Baby?” You hear the concern in her voice, “What’s wrong?”
“Tara,” You gasp into the phone. You feel dizzy, like you might pass out, “Tara, please you have to come, I’ve done something really bad. Tara-”
“Don’t move, I’ll be right there. Stay on the line with me, sweetheart. Tell me what happened.”
But you can’t, you don’t even know it yourself. It’s all a blur. The shake of Wes’ knee, his blue eyes earnest, worried. Fearful as he backed away from you. Glassy now as he stares back at you. Tears roll down your face as you sob into the phone.
By the time you hear the front door open, you’ve sunken down into the floor, wide-eyed, clutching the phone in your hands as you look at the sight in front of you.
When she enters, you watch as she freezes. Blood splattered across the floor. On the ceiling. All over you. Wes’ lifeless body at the center. Her eyes linger on him, wide and mournful.
“Baby. What have you done?”
“I had no choice.” You feel tears spill from your eyes. The awful metallic smell of blood permeates from your red hands. “He knew, Tara, he knew.”
She’s moving over to you, kneeling down to your level. You sob as you feel the warmth of her on you, her fingers on your face, brushing your blood soaked hair out of your eyes, on your shoulders, tugging you into her.
“He knew what, baby?”
She takes your hands, looking for something, inspecting. Cuts, maybe. There’s no point. It’s all his blood.
You choke back a sob. She pulls you in close.
“He knew you were Ghostface.” You say, tears are streaming thick and fast down your face now, “He came here to tell me. He didn’t know I knew.”
Your voice shakes, “He was going to go to the police, I had no choice-”
“Oh, honey.” She pulls you into her, nestles her hand in your hair. You choke back a sob. Press your face to her chest. Her scent, her arms around you soothe you instantly. But you don’t deserve it, you don’t deserve her comfort. You just killed somebody.
“Tara, what did I do?”
“Hey. It’s alright.” Her hands are either side of your face, cupping your cheeks. “It’s going to be okay.”
She presses a long kiss to your lips. Your lips quiver against hers.
“It’s all going to be okay.” She murmurs as she pulls back. You feel her take charge, “You’re going to go and get into the shower. Wash your hair. Scrub under your nails. Put the clothes you’re wearing in a plastic bag and wait for me upstairs, okay? I’m going to clean this up.”
A fresh wave of tears falls thick down your face.
“Tara-”
“Baby. I need you to be strong for me now. Okay? Tell me what you’re going to do.”
You swallow. Her voice is urgent, her eyes flitting between yours.
“Baby.”
“I’m going to shower. I’m going to wash my hair and scrub under my nails. And then I’m going to put my clothes in a plastic bag and wait for you upstairs.”
She kisses you.
“Good girl.” She murmurs against your lips, “That’s my good girl. It’s all going to be okay, sweetheart.”
You shudder as she retracts.
“Where’s your dad? What time will he be home?”
You didn’t even think about him. Panic swells in your chest, fills your eyes.
“I don’t know. God, Tara, if he comes home and sees this-”
Her hands grip firm around your shoulders.
“Shh. It’s okay. Don’t panic. Just think. Where is he usually on a Friday? What time does he finish work?”
You blink, struggle as you think hard.
“Friday drinks.” You say, finally, “He goes to that bar on 2nd with his work friends. He’s not home until like eight.”
“Good.” Tara says. She presses a kiss to your forehead, “See? Everything will be fine. Now go upstairs, and do exactly what I said.”
You try not to think.
You shower, exactly like she said. Put your clothes in a bag and leave them on the bathroom floor.
Then you slip into one of Tara’s old hoodies and curl up into your duvet and press your eyes closed. Try not to think about how Wes had felt under you as you drove your knife into him. Try not to think about his screams.
She doesn’t come up for a while. You hear her down there, moving around. You can smell the bleach wafting up the staircase. Finally, after what seems like hours she’s moving into the bathroom and turning on the water.
She’s naked when she emerges, drops her towel and rifles through your wardrobe for an outfit. Slips on a pair of your sweatpants and an old t-shirt.
“What did you do with him?” Is the first thing you say. Salt on your lips from the tears. You can still taste the metallic twang of his blood.
“Don’t worry about that. Come on sweetheart, we’re leaving.” She pulls you up out of bed, wraps an arm around your shoulder.
“Where are we going?”
“Home.”
The kitchen is immaculate. Scrubbed down, perfectly clean. Almost like it never happened. There’s a large suitcase by the door when you get down the stairs. You stop in your tracks. Your heart drops.
“Tara, is he in there?”
Her hands are strong on your back as she leads you forward.
“Yes he’s in there. It’s broad daylight, sweetheart. It was the only way.”
You didn’t even think about the logistics. The clean-up. The neighbors. The body. The body that was inside your Dad’s suitcase.
“What are you going to do with him?” Bile rises in your throat. Tara rubs your back, presses her lips to the side of your head.
“It’s better if you don’t know, babe. Come on, let’s get in the car.” She tries to pull you forward, but you resist.
“Tara. I want to know.”
She stares at you for a long moment.
“I’m going to wait until it’s really late and then I’m going to drive out to the river and dump him in it.”
The hairs on the back of your neck stand. She doesn’t allow you a moment longer to think.
“Baby. Come on.”
The drive home feels like a dream. You stare out through the windshield, trying to blink back your tears. Her hand grips yours tight over the center console. The radio blares some pop song. Kids play in the street. Grief washes through you. Grief you caused yourself.
Tara helps you out of the car, half carries you upstairs to her bedroom. You can’t stop thinking about him. He’d been here only a couple of weeks ago, laughing and smiling and smoking weed in the living room. The lump in your throat aches at the thought.
You curl up under Tara’s covers. Breathe deep, trying to surround yourself in her scent. You feel her tuck herself into you, arms wrapping tight around your waist, not an inch of space between you. Her lips ghost the back of your neck.
“Are you hungry?” She’s murmuring, “I’m going to order us some food.”
“We’ve missed our reservation.” You say, a million miles away. You could have been there by now. Sharing a plate of sushi and holding her hand over the table.
“We’ll go next week.” She promises, as if things are perfectly normal and there isn’t a body in a suitcase in the trunk of her car. As if it isn’t your fault he’s in there.
“His mom’s going to be so upset.” You can’t stop the tears from flooding over now. You’d met Wes’ mom once. Judy, the town sheriff. She was a hard ass. And she loved her son with everything she had. Tara squeezes you tight.
“Don’t think about that, honey.”
“I’m an awful person.” You whimper.
“No you’re not. You did what you had to do.” Her voice is firm, “You were protecting me. The way I protect you.”
She kisses your neck. You close your eyes, try not to think. Feel the beat of her heart, the warmth of her body pressed against you. The sweet smell of her shampoo. Coconut, you think, coconut and vanilla.
“If you didn’t do what you did, I’d be gone now. I’d be locked away. They’d take me far away from you.”
At that, you turn in her arms. Lean up to kiss her, fierce.
“Nobody’s taking you from me.” You say. You lock your hands around her neck, brush your nose against hers. “Nobody.”
Not Wes, and certainly not Judy. You’d die without her. You’d kill to keep them from her. She’s yours. She belongs with you.
Your heartbeat steadies, slightly. You take a shaky breath as you look into the warm brown of her eyes. Brush your fingertips over the spatter of freckles across her nose. She’s everything to you. She’s more important than anyone else. Anything else.
“Nobody.” She affirms.

Too Easy
Tumblr media
Dabi x Male Reader | Another one off, kinda been wanting to write for Dabi recently, he just like me frfr. Anyway, this one is a little...ehh, just a heads up. Brain no worky today.
WARNINGS: mentions of fighting heroes, kinda gory in a sentence or two, reader rips out someones throat(not too descriptive), mentions of infatuation, Dabi teasing Reader, Reader teasing back, all playful, low key something there, can be read as platonic or flirting banter, mention of drinking at the end, Y/N is used, he/ him pronouns for reader
WC: 609
An overly warm arm wraps around Y/N's shoulder's, "Don’t you worry boss, we'll handle it." Dabi yelled out, pull them both out the door. The blue-eyed villain sends the other a knowing smirk. Rolling your eyes and huffing out in annoyance Y/N pushed out of the man's arm. Walking a few paces ahead of him, hearing his slow steps behind.
"Shut up." Y/N's voice echoed through the dampened alleyway, instinctively. "I didn’t even say anything." Dabi insisted with fake defense, feeling his mocking gaze focused on you. "You were thinking it," The villain now holding back a hardy chuckle, leaning in over the other man's shoulder. "I can’t help it, you’re just too easy." He replies.
Grinning wide and shaking your head, ready for the inevitable take down that was another mission. Weaving through the city, the two find their target building…heavily guarded and already attacking them of course. Quirk's firing left and right, they fought side by side, mainly blocking, and countered attacks from Dabi's six. Quickly pushing the dark haired villain away as a hero swings in with a blast of a sound wave. Directly attacking Y/N in the process, only to be burnt on the spot seconds later.
"How kind of you," Y/N says through clenched teeth, speeding towards the last hero to the right of Dabi. Embedding their teeth in the hero’s throat, pushing them away with a fierce kick to the gut. Spitting out the remains within their teeth, whipping away the combination of flesh and blood. “Was the biting really necessary?” Dabi rumbled with an unimpressed gaze and raised brow.
Y/N glanced to the dark haired man, “He looked at you wrong, I think that was well deserved.” They countered, breathy laughter ricochets from the man's chest, a hardy yet congested sound running through the villain. "You're fucking weird," Making your way to the entrance of the building, answering him. "You love me anyway."
"Regrettably." He calls back.
They both split at another wave of heroes, meeting back up a few floors above, elevator doors opened to Dabi leaning against the wall with a bored expression. "Took you long enough, ‘healer’." He mocks, with an intense gaze. His lips curling into a harsh smirk towards the other. "Fuck off you bastardized 4 pieces," He fakes a stab to the heart as Y/N passed him. "Oh you really got me with that one," He sarcastically replied.
Pasting back through the streets in the blink of an eye, the two men with their loot in hand, Dabi hums out before speaking, "When was that last time we got fucked up?" Mind-racking memories in light of his friend's question. "We? If I remember correctly, I had to drag your drunk ass halfway across the city last time." Y/N rumbles out in laughter, the edge of his eyes replying the scene.
"My question still stands." Walking through the doorway of the bar, not taking a second to think before answering. "Maybe." Dabi walks pass, hands in his pockets. Expression now playful as he mutters out, "Not gonna let me drink alone are you?"
"Not a fucking chance, drunk you is my favorite you." Y/N commented back.
"I see how it is, you only want me at my absolute worst." He continues walking backwards, facing you. Tilting your head to the side, glaring at him with a smirk. "I knew it, that’s all I am to you isn’t it? Just a fun little waste of time, huh?"
Y/N shook his head, "Already digging for sympathy and you’re not even tipsy." He retorts back. Dabi gasps dramatically, "Ouch, that one hurt."
"Can’t help it, Dab’s. You’re just too easy…"

WARNINGS: BLOOD, MENTIONS OF DEAD BODIES, nothing else I know of
✧CHAPTER 5✧
It was nothing new in the boys’ house. Waking up, doing a normal morning routine, then coming downstairs to find a whole blood bath in the living room.
The girl stared, stunned as she watched Heeseung be so casual, laughing and joking with Jungwon as he poked one of the dead bodies with a stick “Painted our white sofa red. Broke whore couldn’t even be grateful enough to clean up after himself.”
He scoffed, as he clicked his fingers at the guards “I want this room cleaned and the furniture replaced while we’re at school.” Heeseung ordered, smirking as he saw Babe step in, flinching at the sight of the gory scene.
She silently grabbed her bag, and opened the front door, only for it to get slammed shut forcefully. “Where are you off to without us?! We’re going to the same school.” Heeseung simply said, his arm trapping her between the door and his body.
“I-I need to get my uniform from home… I’ll meet you at school though-” she faked a smile as Heeseung scoffed “Fine… get in the car I’ll drop you off.” Heeseung coldly stated as the girl gasped.
There was no way she’s letting them know where she lives. She can’t let them know where she lives, her home is her only safe place.
“No need, seriously- it’s walking distance-” the girl added as Heeseung frowned at her attitude. “I’m being nice aren’t I? I’m literally offering you a ride babe, are you sure you want to miss out on it?!” He asked, his stare intense as the girl opened the front door “trust me, I’m fine… see you in school-” she said before leaving the building, and running all the way home.
. . .
Upon arriving at her place, she locked the doors and double checked that no one followed her. She peacefully took a quick shower, changed into her uniform and hopped onto her motorbike after rushing her makeup, speeding to the highest, and safest limit she could as she was practically already late.
10 minutes after the lesson had started, Babe came rushing in, helmet still on her head, the girl out of breath “Sorry I’m late” she apologized through heavy breaths as the teacher blinked. “You forgot to take your helmet off,” the man pointed out, as the girl sighed, taking it off as she went to her seat beside Ning Ning.
The girl was an extremely enthusiastic, outgoing extrovert, befriending practically everyone. However her energy can be a little too much for Babe to handle. In the nicest way possible, Ning Ning is annoying. “Ooh you even have gems and rhinestones on your helmet? That’s so cool!” she exclaimed quietly, not wanting to trigger the teacher.
Babe sighed and faked a smile, before continuing to take notes. Ning Ning, however, was distracted, her head on the table, as she took a nap. That was the only time she’s ever been quiet, but the babe mentally admitted, she kind of missed her noisiness.
It was finally break time, the boys out of sight. It was weird. Ever since she arrived at school she didn’t see them anywhere, not even in the first 2 lessons.
The girl shrugged, sitting with Eunchae where Ning Ning was enthusiastically telling the girls her latest gossip in school “Did you hear? Apparently they’re cleaning it up now! The boys got into a fight earlier, like right before school… there was so much blood everywhere I wouldn’t even be surprised if someone died!” Ning Ning exaggerated.
“OOH and the person they beat up was a guy that was interested in Babe~” Ning Ning sang as her sentence was followed by the girls’ oohing her. Babe’s eyes widened when she saw the boy’s walk in.
Just as Ning Ning was about to say something else so daring, Babe stuffed a bunch of popcorn in Ning Ning’s mouth, catching her off guard “YOU SEEM HUNGRY HERE TRY THIS- ITS BIBBLE FROM THE UK-” she exclaimed, muffling Ning Ning’s sentences.
Jungwon glanced at them, weirded out by her behaviour, while Jay rolled his eyes, approaching them. “Babe Lee. did you forget where you sit or is this some kind of cry for attention?!” Jay asked coldly as he walked off, the girl hastily grabbing her things, running after him.
. . .
Babe was silent, watching as the boys played basket ball outside in the cold. No teachers or students were here as it was pretty late after school. Riki was still staying at home, resting as his fever was fairly high.
Sunghoon was simply smoking some cannabis, giggling with Jake about some random shit. Heeseung flawlessly shooting hoops, teasing Jay, as Jungwon also joined in by teasing the both of them, bouncing the ball out of their hands and running.
They looked so sweet and harmless that verry moment. Babe, looked in her small bedazzled Mirror she keeps in her pocket, frowning as she saw that her lipstick faded, her lips now deprived of the pretty nude-ish pink shade.
She slowly applied the lipstick, making sure she doesn't apply too much. whenever she got some colour anywhere that's not on her lips, she softly wiped it away with her finger.
The girl applied some more lipstick on her lower lip, flinching as the basket ball hit the space beside her. "Go get the ball Jay-" Heeseung frowned as the male rolled his eyes. Babe frowned as she saw the stride of product on her face.
Just as she was about to wipe it away with her sleeve, the soft hands of Sunoo meet her cheeks, he smiled as he wiped it off properly with some makeup wipes. "Let me do your lips- it's so satisfying" he simply asked.
Quite taken aback by his sudden softness, Babe smiled and handed him her lipstick, lip gloss and lipliner. He was so focused, using his thumb occasionally to blend out the makeup.
he frowned looking through her collection of lip liners, noticing they were all pretty dark. Sunghoon who was witnessing the cute scene simply pointed at one for him, as the male took it and started reapplying the liner on her lips, blending it in so it won't look ridiculous.
He pecked her lips quickly, not ruining his artwork, before applying the lip gloss over it. "I've never actually done anyone's makeup before- you should start letting me do yours more often, your lips look prettier, even though they already were pretty-" He simply said as the girl thanked him.
Wasn't it just this morning that these boys who are seemingly sweet, innocent and carefree, were brutally murdering some bastards and enjoying every scene of it?....

What a Treat!
Fem!Reader Words: 1376
Summary: The depressing state of no one showing up to Trick or Treat and being trapped with way too much candy. It was something that happened way too much for Kaveh's sanity. Maybe this year would finally be different.
AN: Happy Halloween! Can be read as romantic or not. Thanks for helping me come up with the idea  @milkstore Beta read by @isekyaaa
This would be the year Kaveh finally got to hand out candy. It had been way too many years of getting only a few trick-or-treaters. He has wasted putting up decorations for too long. Candy had gone to waste year after year after year. This year would be different because he changed locations. He wasn’t even at his own home! He was with someone who cared about his woes! And someone who let him truly go all out on the decorations.
This would be his year he kept telling himself as he poured out the bags of candy into a bowl. “How many did you say you got last year?”
“At least 40,” Y/N answered as she looked into a small handheld mirror and applied lipstick. “You know it's been a while since I last got dressed up. Actually, no scratch that. I dressed up not last year, but the year before.”
“I told you that you didn’t have to get dressed up with me if you didn’t want to.” Kaveh had a small lisp due to the little fangs he had on his teeth.
“My house looks like the best one on the block. It would be weird if I didn’t dress up.” Y/N put the mirror down before closing up the lipstick. “Plus I wouldn’t have expected you ever to get dressed up as a vampire. You don’t tend to handle horror well.”
“I’m not that bad.” He frowned placing the empty candy bag on the counter.
“Okay, then after there’s no more trick-or-treaters do you want to watch Isabelle? I have the original on VHS. They kept all the gory details in this one, including the eyeball popping-”
“Hey! What time did you say they start arriving?”
Y/N laughed knowing she was getting a no regardless. “Sometime after 6 pm and usually finishing up around 8.”
Kaveh looked at the unopened bags of candy on the counter. “And you said somewhere around 40 kids. What if we don’t have enough?”
“It will be plenty. We would have to give out handfuls to run out early.”
“But think of how happy they’ll be when they get a giant handful of candy.”
“How about just the first kid then? We got to make sure everyone else gets candy without going to the store.” Y/N suggested as she pulled a lollipop from the bowl.
“What makes you think I was going to suggest that?” He reached over trying to put the lollipop back before Y/N could unwrap it.
She leaned back quickly moving away as she unwrapped the treat before popping it in her mouth. “It’s you. Also, my house you’re using. This is my payment.”
It had been almost an hour of sitting outside amongst the decorations. The lights were glowing, and the fog machine made everything the right amount of eerie. The cobweb on her porch might have been real, but she wasn’t going to let Kaveh know that. She didn’t feel like having to catch and release a spider that was already outdoors. It was quiet except for the music, which added to the atmosphere of the decorations.
It had been too quiet all night. Y/N looked over at the untouched candy bowl before looking up at Kaveh whose smile at the beginning of the evening seemed to be fading. “I don’t th-”
“Don’t tell me that.” He couldn’t believe it. He even changed locations! “Maybe we started too early.”
“Yeah, I’m just going to go inside and get a blanket. It’s getting chilly.” She stood up moving towards the door. Placing her hand on the door, Y/N turned her head back to him. “Do you want one too?”
“... please. The wind is just blowing through my shirt.”
“Okay. Two blankets, coming up.” Y/N spoke with a smile.
It was still cold with the blankets, not from the cool October air but from the lack of people. The only candy eaten had been from the two of them. Kaveh had given up sitting properly and had curled up on the wicker couch next to Y/N. His head lay on her lap. They had been outside for almost two hours by now. Any luck of handing out candy was long gone.
The only reason Y/N stayed outside was for Kaveh's sake. It already felt lonely enough with no one walking around outside. To leave him for the warmth of inside would only make her home feel just as cold. So she stayed outside with him playing on her phone.
Well, she said she was just playing on her phone, but she was really texting a few friends. Everything was just so off about tonight. There was one song they were personally playing that had silence within it, and Y/N could have sworn she had heard music muffled from a distance. Someone had to have known something about that.
Cyno responded that his patrols were being done more around the areas of town filled with clubs and nightlife. Nilou was on the other side of town putting on a children's haunted house, so there was no response from her. Dehya said she and Candace had run out of candy over an hour ago.
The porch lights on neighbor’s houses were slowly going out one by one. Y/N sighed seeing they were the last house left with a light on. Not a single kid had come through. “I think it’s time.”
“I know.” He sat up, hair a little disheveled from how long he had been lying down. His blanket wrapped around him but offered no comfort.
“We could watch a movie. Your pick.” Y/N offered trying to save the night.
“I think I should just go.”
“You don’t have to. We could play a game or something.” She really wanted to cheer him up. It would have been easier if they just went inside earlier. Then the night could have been saved somewhat.
“I just want to go and wallow in bed.” Kaveh kept his eyes on the ground. “I’m gonna go get my things.”
“Okay. Just text me when you’re home safe.”
He just nodded a yes before going inside her home. There had been at least 40 kids here last year for Halloween. She had seen them come back and forth to school. What happened?
Kaveh opened the door to his shared home throwing his keys on the table up front. “I’m back.” He called out. Looking up he could see Alhaithiam sitting on the couch reading his book like always. It looked to at least be a horror novel. Guess he did get into the holiday spirit this year.
He stood there debating if he should complain about the failure that happened or if he should lay in bed and rot in his failure. It’s not like he would get it.
“You should have left one of those bags behind,” Alhaithiam spoke without even looking up from his book. “I kept having to send kids away. You would think having the porch light off would keep them away.”
“How many showed up?” Every year for the past years he has been living here Halloween has just been a full-on failure! “It couldn’t have been more than 7.” That was the most that had ever shown up.”
“20.”
“20! And you didn’t think about calling to let me know!?”
“You went to Y/N’s to hand out candy. I was trying to enjoy some silence.”
“We got no one! You stole my chance this year!” Kaveh accused.
“That’s not my fault no one showed up. Did you not look into events around the area? It tends to change how many people will show up or not.”
“Of course we…” they never checked. Kaveh quickly took out his phone. He hadn't checked it since he left Y/N's. He already had a text message from her. A photo of a flyer that was for the elementary school down the road where she lived. The only message she sent was ‘sorry’.
“Are you kidding me?” A Halloween party for kids filled with candy, games, and a costume contest. Kaveh ran his hand through his hair. “I’m going to bed!” He couldn’t deal with this any longer. His lack of luck in this was just a cruel joke.
