ok i dont think this is anything related to the watchmaker and all that stuff, but i think its insane that the Family turns traitors into memory zone memes because the concept of the memory zone memes is just that they were created by the true Dreamscape and from the emotions of those within the Dreamscape

this was from the emoscape with Mr McCoy in Dewlight Pavilion, where he was ordered by the Dreammaster to turn his siblings, who were apparently selling information to the IPC about the Family, into memory zone memes, but now i'm wondering just how many people got turned into memory zone memes for being a traitor

I would have said too that maybe the Family - trying to seek out the traitor and the killer of the first Oak Family Head - framed the Watchmaker and possibly turned him into a memory zone meme as well, but the Family is trying to search for the Watchmaker so that's less likely the case. But I just love seeing how fucked up actually the Family can be AND getting more information about the Dreammaster since there really isn't much of anything

listen i think between cn and eng dub for gepard they did such a good job with picking a voice that not only is polite/formal to reflect the responsible captain, but also the youthfulness in the voice since gepard is a relatively young captain. i think it also encapsulates too a little bit of the doubts in the back of his mind as a captain and its just soooo good

also gallagher being hanunue actually makes a lot of sense given the wolf motifs and how hanunue is also clockie's best friend and gallagher also having very close relations with mikhail

the only thing thats stopping me is

in which hanunue dies in explosion

i also wanted to say with the series of events, this sounded like something that happened before mikhail became the watchmaker since i had thought the story was about the prison rebellion, but since here it's written "you are the Watchmaker", it makes it sound like its later and they're just trying to protect what Penacony is now

but. also what does being the Watchmaker really entail?

i love the readables sm in penacony because the unsuspecting readables also have a lot of lore to them

so i'm currently trying to read through Hanu's Adventure so i can be sure to have all information before i start rambling but the little pieces of dialogue that is from the original memory of what happened with the rebellion made me so curious:

assuming that clockie stands for the watchmaker, the watchmaker tried to create a plan to lure the IPC into their own territory before trying to attack, but from the way that this is written - with clockie not understanding the significance and how offensive his actions are - it makes it sound like clockie is new to the scene ie the watchmaker was new to the rebellion

might be reading too into it though, but it's just fun when you think about the possibility that the watchmaker could have been a nameless himself

think i just need a note to self about which characters signify who on top of the "timeline of events in penacony history"

uhh to be safe! i shall put this under the cut but some hsr 2.0 spoilers :D (ik we're on 2.1 rn but still! to be safe!!)

i'd like to stress on the SQUEAK panel because the way that the ending of 2.0 had me go insane that i 100% all areas in penacony in hopes to find clues about WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY GIRL NOOOOOOOOOO WHAT THE HELL

I refused to accept that she died and wanted to understand WHAT happened which inevitably turned into me searching and finishing all the missions in Penacony and 😭 I still have zero idea what happened. and I mean. technically 2.1 gave us the answer about what happened, but that doesn't explain how people die in this dream when usually if people die, they just wake up back in the Reverie

SO WHAT HAPPENED TO ROBIN??????

I think she's really interesting though, even if we only get to know her through word of mouth - which is. kinda fitting for an idol like her. You only know her image, not the person she is. You could even meet her former teacher who envies Robin stealing her spotlight, and how Singer mentions that Robin and The Family had some argument or conflict between each other. It made me wonder if that's the reason why she left to be a Galaxy known singer rather than staying in Penacony since she only came back because of that.

Hmm... Now that I'm here. There was this thing about Robin being an Emanator for Harmony because she was said to be blessed by Xipe themself for such a talented voice and how Penacony was just Obsessed with Robin to the point that uhhh I forgot her name but the NPC who follows Idrila was just sick of being under Robin's shadow as well.

If Robin had gotten into a fight with The Family, I wonder if her leaving and returning may have been the cause for her voice to be Weird (I don't understand), getting her powers revoked and all that.

All this next to her song "If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking" really fits the "bird in a cage" imagery that her splash art has WHICH MAKES ME ADORE HER ALL THE MORE I LOVE BIRD IN A CAGE IMAGERY SM (SHAKES HER)

The other thing I did while coping was start questioning "why is it that Firefly and Robin had to die in this?" I mean, albeit, both deaths have different modus operandi, where Firefly's body dissipated (which is what I anticipate will happen too with Sunday's) and Robin's didn't. And I reflected a bit more on Firefly's monologue regarding why do people dream/sleep, in which the answer was "because they're afraid to wake up." That whole scene was played out with Robin's song in the background which ALSO is all about how with no other choice, the character of the song has no choice but to dream of freedom that they weren't given -- to not face that reality.

Put both of those together -- that Firefly and Robin both stood for the freedom dreams can give and that both characters wind up dying in 2.0 -- I sorta thought about the dream of Penacony crashing down entirely.

But maybe it's also that having both die is just the counter to this question that hangs over Penacony arc: Why do people sleep? since it repeats itself too in 2.1 :]

So I just. I like Robin through the things I've collected about her but also what she may have stood for in the realm of the Penacony arc in its entirety.

I really hope to pull for her when she does come out though :D I was supposed to save my guarantee after losing on Luocha for her but I pulled Acheron asdklfajh So we'll see if I can get her. Ik I'm excited to read more about her character story. And also know whether or not she's actually dead or is that a fake body that we saw.

rambling but the more i read about the clockie animations and start seein them more as history books to penacony, the more i understand the watchmaker as someone who had wanted to create a perfect world in penacony. it actually kinda reminds me of this book i read a long time ago called "martin dressler" in which the guy's whole ambition is to create giant hotels that would rival reality and that no one would have to bother with reality ever again thanks to his hotels

i mean they kinda give a similar parallel with welt comparing penacony's dreamscape to what kevin does over in hi3 (what that means, i wouldn't know i didn't get there yet but it's reasons why i eyeball kevin so much lmao), but i think about it even more so after reading "clockie and mirror princess", where clockie says that he hopes together with all his friends, they can create dreamville to be the perfect place.

side thing: i think i also want to figure out which character correspond to who, but the way that the mirror princess shatters at the end of the book into a bunch of shards reminded me of idrila's mirror shards that each of the mirror holders now carry on their person... is that how idrila died maybe? how did idrila get involved with everything in penacony?

and what was "unknown" in that series? could it have been Death? uncertain...

oh i was rambling to eitan about this but idk was thinking about honkai expies and if they do bring a sakura expy, she's either going to be hunt or preservation. like hunt seems obvious tbh but like..... a part of me wishes shes preservation re: the thing that drives her most is the desire to protect her sister like come on yall it makes sense doesnt it... she studies the blade so she can protect.

but then again i also dont really. know whats the hunts deal aside from 'get rid of the abominations' so wah-oh

I LOVE MARCH.... I'm so glad we got her character quest before ; w ; I already loved her vibes before the character quest, but it felt nice getting to see her character quest and just how much she was so loved and cared for by the Astral Express when she was found (though it still doesn't stop me from being curious about her past that the Remembrance MUST keep it locked away like ??? what are you hiding there??? What's going on???)

She's so cute and bubbly but I know she's also anxious on the inside too, trying to keep up the facade and trying to find a role for herself on the crew, kinda similar to how Dan Heng tried to find himself a role to fit into the Astral Express too!
