Now that he has wings, you two can fly together now! Which lead to a lot of fun small races against each other. More than once, ponies of equestria can see blurs of two different colours in the sky and Rainbow Blitz interrupting y'all to join in the race.

He'll probably ask you to help him deliver and fetch things for him. No need to ask if you could help. You probably help him immediately if you noticed how panicked his state is in. Don't worry! He'll give you a kiss or an outfit when you've done your duty! Whichever you wanted more or comfortable with.

His little brother, Poppet Bell, loves you! Can you carry him? Bring him up to fly?? PLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASEEE! If you gave into his puppy eyes, you'd make Elusive worried sick. Please don't fall or let his brother fall, as if you would.

He won't force you into work (he also needs a little convincing) but if you did help him, you'd be too focused in what you're helping with to notice how he looks at you with basically apple hearts in his eyes. You had to find that out when Apple Buck gave pretended to vomit which embarrassed Applejack greatly. Macareina even told you that Applejack looks you the way their father looks at their mom, absolutely whipped. Don't even get me started on Grandpa Smith.

If you want, you can try racing against him like that one fall episode. He'll easily beat you or if you're very athletic, you can excel or match his pace. Either way, he'll comfort you and/or be proud of you.

One of the most Japanese BLs to release in the last decade, as weird and as messed up as any 2000s yaoi: emo af and hella warped, entirely true to itself with no attempt made to modify its POV for modern sensibilities or current BL fandom. It used seriously old school problematic and kinky tropes, like whipping boy, for a truly uncompromising piece that also manages to hit up themes of communication, consent, and self acceptance. It’s a wonderful BL but uniquely dirty and harsh, in the best possible way - Japanese cinema, uncompromising.

I lost my ever loving mind over the ending. This show won the Grand Prix “My Best TV Award” at the 16th Galaxy Awards.

Japan 2022

A classic age gap romance where a high school student pursues the man of his dreams (who runs a laundromat). This BL is so steeped in yaoi nostalgia, not to mention a classic romance arc, that it will overload some, but those of us who love this genre for its DNA will adore it. It made me very happy because it did everything I want a BL to do - there’s not much more I could ask of a show than this. It’s the closest Japan has come to perfect live action yaoi since Seven Days (and I never make that comparison lightly).

Thai 2022

Thai BL grew up with this pulp (the first ever to make my end of year top 10). It’s a truly lovely and special little show featuring the extremely rare pairing of sunshine/sunshine (AKA a cinnamon roll couple) plus mature explorations of relationships using one of the softest, sweetest, and most innocent friends to lovers vehicles. Kindly, overworked doctor meets broken-hearted motorcycle taxi driver in an “other side of the tracks” slow burn romance. The support cast is excellent, making for great friendship groups and family dynamics. With honest queer rep that adds to, but doesn’t impede, the story, and genuine conversation about the nature of class, wealth, and classism, not to mention communication, honesty, and respect for boundaries, you can’t go wrong with this show. In other news, I am a sucker for a single dimple.

Japan 2022 I gnawed on my knuckles and squealed a lot with this BL. Reserved cool kid who must learn to communicate to keep the tiny disaster nugget he’s madly in love with. It is beyond charming: soft and gentle, packed with cuteness and high school angst, thirst, & yearning. Was there plot? Not really. Was it emotionally tense and paced well enough for me not to notice? Absolutely. Did I enjoy the hell out of it? Oh yes.

Taiwan 2023

The plot is totally ridiculous and slightly unhinged, but that’s normal for Taiwan. It involves all the tropes under a very casual framework of gay mafia gangs + food = love. Absolutely every character is queer. There’s a gum-ball machine of cameos, elder gay rep, great chemistry from all pairs, and a KILLER side couple. As a result Kiseki is a poster child for Taiwanese BL, and I happen to love Taiwanese BL. Bonus? They also managed to END IT WELL, which we cannot expect from Taiwan.

Japan 2023

This style of live action yaoi really only works from Japan. Basically: boys who fell in love in college end up living together but both are so repressed they actually don't realize they're in love. It's higher heat than we usually get from Japan's HEA stuff, and that part is also very well done, but it leaned into the "why don't they just talk for fuck's sake?" trope which is only exacerbated into undiluted frustration by the fact that they're already fucking. It's great, but watching requires more patience than usual, even for Japan.

Japan 2023

A lonely salaryman and talented cook gets accidentally adopted by a college kid and his little brother. I was always gonna love this show if they stuck to the manga (which is very dear to my heart). And they did, paralleling it almost exactly. It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me as the best of what Japan can do with softness (like Restart After Come Back Home). It’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, but that's OK with me. This is a very safe show for anyone to watch.

Thai 2023

This was Thailand’s answer to The New Employee, and everything I loved about that show I loved about this one. This office romance between a stern boss and sweet subordinate felt more authentic to cubical work than previous Thai BLs of this ilk. That authenticity added tension to the narrative and its characters development (how novel). I also really enjoyed the charming side characters and the brothers' relationship to each other (although I could have done without that brother's side BL).

Korea (Strongberry) 2017

Catfishing assassins on either side of a turf war who fall in love not knowing they are on opposite sides. Or do they? Suspenseful plot, good fight sequences, mature characters, hot sexitimes and even hotter beating the shit out of each other and kissing while covered in blog (this came from KOREA?), plus an HEA. One of the hidden gems of the BL genre.

What a ridiculous situation was the one in which you and Joel found yourselves. 

It all began several hours ago. Actually, truth be told, it began years ago, when your estranged, twice divorced father moved to this town in the house next to a Mr. Miller. You were already fully grown up the first time you knocked his door to tell your father invited him over for dinner, so his dear new friend could meet his dear children.

The first time you and Joel talked, you hit it off immediately. You flirted, and he flirted back. Your older sister knew instantly what was going on, and being the good ol’ chap she was,  she made excuses to get the two of you alone together. The rest is history. When you knocked on the door at Joel’s place the night after, you two went to town on each other. This had been going on for a while, even though you spent most of your time far away, not in the same place as him. 

It wasn’t quite a long distance relationship, because you didn’t even know if what you had was a relationship, but it was fun, satisfying and — as long as your father never found out — no one was getting hurt. 

Truth is, you, out of the four children your father helped create with different women, were his little princess. At the same time, ever since you grew up and realized just how toxic your dad could be, you were the one who did the most to avoid him. Still, you knew he loved and cared deeply for you. And that he, in his six foot three dad mode, would absolutely and with ease kill Joel and then eat his remains. 

Back to a several hours ago — that was when Joel picked you up from the airport and fucked you in the back of his car in a quite place at parking lot. The ride home was really fun, with lots of 90’s music playing and the two of you talking nonsense. You didn’t let your father know you were in town for the weekend, because you only had forty-eight hours, and you wanted to spend them trying out freaky positions in your situationship’s couch, bed, kitchen counter and shower. 

When you got to Joel’s place, he had just closed the door behind him and thrown your backpack to the side when you dropped to his knees and began sucking him off. He didn’t let you make him cum, choosing to practically tear through your sweatpants and eat you out before you even showered. You came one time, eyes darting to the back of your head, before he had you with one leg around his waist and making room for his big dick.

To hide, Joel panicked and shoved you and himself inside a closet in the hallway, naked and with a very throbbing hard-on. And thus, the ridiculous situation. 

Your bare ass was pressed against Joel’s coats, as you tried to become more comfortable. Joel, fully naked, was trying not to get that close to your thighs, as his balls were already very, very blue. 

What you thought would be a five minute visit from your dad to steal some groceries and go back became a twenty something minute full scavenger hunt through Joel’s kitchen. 

“This is pathetic”, you mumbled quietly.

“Shh…”, Joel slapped, also quietly, your leg. 

You rolled your eyes at him, growing annoyed. “Did you tell him he could come by?”, you snapped, still whispering. 

“Well, no, duh”, he side eyed you, “But we do have an agreement we can take stuff from each other’s place”, you began sighing before Joel had even finished. He lifted one finger and continued, “I didn’t think he’d come this weekend!”

You just looked at him, now fully annoyed. 

“He’ll leave soon”, Joel reassured, with a move of his hand, “Just shh, ok?”

“Don’t shush me, I’m not a child”, you angrily stated, voice low, but in a quiet yell. 

“You’re his child”.

Joel’s words were a bucket of cold water. So, that was the most important part of you, even now. That you were your father’s daughter.

Much to your relief, you saw through the venetian blinds of the door that your dad was leaving with half of Joel’s food. 

Joel, as naked as the day he was born, opened quietly the door of the closet, cautious. He tiptoed out, and then motioned for you, wearing only the top part of your outfit, to leave too. 

“Where were we?”, Joel turned back and smiled at you, his hands already grabbing your butt and bringing you close to him. 

A frown took over your face and you moved away from his kiss. You shimmied out of his arms, walking towards the couch and sitting down. You probably looked ridiculous with only a jacket and no underwear or pants on, but you didn’t care. Joel let out a loud sigh before sitting next to you, his cock now only half-hard. 

“Wanna tell me what’s going on?”

Your face turned to meet him, his brown eyes wider waiting for a reply. This was the chance for you to be honest with him about your insecurities, instead of just shoving everything aside, and give this situation a shot at becoming a real relationship. 

You didn’t even know if he wanted more than a casual thing. So, how could you share your deepest fears and feelings? It was simple, you couldn’t and wouldn’t, not until you were sure he belonged to you, and not to your father. 

“Joel”, you began. He replied with a ‘hmm?’, one hand grabbing your leg in a comforting act. 

“Am I just my dad’s kid to you?” 

He let out a small laugh, “‘Course not, baby. Otherwise I’d be over there watching the game and not here with you, right?”

“That’s not my point”, you continued. You shifted, sitting with your entire body facing his. “I don’t know if sex is something that, in your head, you do to me or with me”.

He shifted his gaze away from you, a pondering expression appearing. He then moved closer to you, eyes meeting yours again as he said, “Well, do you mean if we’re in some sorta’ commitment?”

It was your turn to scoff and avert his gaze. You looked at his living room, poorly decorated but still homey. There were pictures of his family, his brother Tommy and his wife, his daughter Sarah throughout her life on multiple occasions and even a dog. You wanted that for yourself, a lovely house with a mantle and pictures to put atop said mantle. You wanted it all with Joel, even the dog.

You hadn’t yet replied to his question, but the reason for that wasn’t your fear of rejection, but your fear of being labeled the ‘daddy issues’ girl, a part given to you multiple times. Even when you were a teenager reacting to your parents divorce in a totally healthy manner, you were labeled as scandalous. That was around the time you told everybody to fuck off, then. You wanted to talk to your older siblings or your parents, and none of them gave you space. Your dad moved and left everything behind, including you. You didn’t see him for a full year before he reappeared out of nowhere, but by them you were already depressed and your mom was drowning in bills without any child support.

Fuck them. 

You began using a fake ID to get it into clubs and parties. The drinking made things easier, too. You wanted to lose your virginity quickly, because your bad influence friends said sex was fun and you were in desperate need of some fun. So you fucked a guy in a dirty bathroom once, and it went downhill from there. The label ‘daddy issues’ and that freaking song by The Neighbourhood followed you around. 

You came back to reality, the memories fading as you found Joel’s expectant gaze. You didn’t really know him, but he had quite the reputation. He seemed kind and supportive, and you needed that too. 

The whole thing scared you to death. This situation, right now, scared you more than words could ever describe. In the couch of this lovely man you’d been fucking for months, him asking you if you wanted a relationship, which you knew you wanted, you felt the wrong words forming in your mouth, and there was nothing your brain could do to stop them. 

“No, that’s not it, Joel”, you said, shrugging, “I just want to know how involved you want me to be”. 

To quiet the voices in your head and the terrible act of self sabotage you just committed, you straddled his lap, becoming what every man wanted: a cool girl, the one who doesn’t need commitment, the one who will stay on top as long as he wants her too and do it happily.

CW: jealousy and obsession of course, toxic behavior, some more slight stalker-ish behavior, nothing intense or anything, ur on base with the both of them in these scenarios again.

Hesh- oh dear, a jealous Hesh is an irritable one I think. I imagine he could hide it well, he’s probably used to hiding jealousy (looking at you Elias family dynamic👀), but it eats him alive, really.

Seeing his precious friend//lover/obsession slowly distance themselves is like a knife to the gut, and he knows exactly how that feels. He’s a little more snarky, a little more hotheaded at times than usual, because what’s going on? Has he done something? Said something to upset you? His darling from above, what’s gotten into you?

He won’t interfere much on your end, but he’d do anything if you’d just come back, sweetheart. Sit with him during mealtimes again instead of with whatever mangy soldiers there are on base. Take walks with him again, clean your guns or do whatever it is that you’ve slowly started to do with others.

His jealously is obvious to those that know him well. Logan and Elias can tell what his deal is, and most of the other Ghosts can tell something’s up with him regardless, but only he can truly understand how consumed his thoughts are. Thankfully he’s busy a lot, but his down time thoughts are riddled with doubt and worry. Was it really all in his head? Do you not appreciate him as much as he you? Are you toying with him? No, you’re too precious to do such a wicked thing, right? He knows you’re too sweet to upset him on purpose. Do you know what jealousy does to a person? Surely you do.

So maybe it’s not you, he reasons. It’s those mutts you’ve been hanging out with more. He doesn’t like those soldiers, regardless of what they have or haven’t done. Because they’ve taken you from him, in his jealousy addled mind. He can’t see it any other way. If they’re his subordinates, he uses intimidation to mess with them, whether he really means to or not. If they’re his superiors, he’s cold, distanced. Only doing and saying the absolute necessity to avoid any repercussions.

He’s smart though, he can handle this even if it bothers him. He may start to take after Logan a bit and follow you around base a little, see exactly what it is you’re doing. He’ll ‘accidentally’ start running into you more, start needing more from you, for work related reasons, and that’s it. If you go on ops with him, you’re basically attached at the hip, only letting you part if necessary. And his voice will still flood your ear on comms, so how far away are you really? You may drift, but he’ll be the life raft that pulls you right back to shore. His jealousy is like an infected wound, sometimes it starts to heal whenever he gets you alone, gets you in his sights, get your attention on him. But when you ultimately keep straying, it flares and festers.

You may be distancing yourself, he may see you with others more than with himself. But no matter how far you you go, you could never get that far, sweetheart. He’s always gonna care for you.

You’re in his heart, whether you wanna be or not.

Logan- now this one I think would let his jealousy shine a bit more. He’s a little younger, not as emotionally developed as Hesh just yet. But like his brother, he gets cranky. You brightened up his days and now they’ve been clouded by some other idiots. So when he sees his darling starting to stray, he does ask.

Asks if you’re okay, at first. He hasn’t seen you around as much, where’ve you been? Are you alright? Did he upset you? It may be the most you’ve heard him talk at once. It doesn’t matter what you say or don’t say, it doesn’t feel like enough of an explanation for him because you still distance yourself. And your mere presence is what he used to thrive on.

His thoughts may take that even more juvenile approach, and he makes it personal whether it is or not. You must hate him now, huh? He must’ve done something to you, angel. Why else would you hang out with people who don’t even know your favorite snacks and drinks or if you prefer sleeping with or without socks? He knows you, do they?

And he goes a little up the wall. Hearing your voice, the smell of you that wafted in the air start to disappear more and more was like someone dangling a carrot in front of him. He was annoyed by you, a bit. He couldn’t stay mad at you, not you, god no. But his feelings were hurt, and he wasn’t too sure how to handle it.

He asked Hesh of course, who gave him an answer that didn’t lead you back to him, ultimately, therefore he didn’t take any of it to heart. He missed you, and watching you around base with other soldiers made his jealousy grow. It felt like vines wrapping around his ribcage, ready to crush them all inward and puncture his poor heart with the shards.

Logan’s approach though is to insert himself once more into your life, he’s not shy. Having lunch with other soldiers? Now you’re having lunch with him too, invite or not. Training? Now you’re training with him. Now you’re walking back to the barracks with him, on ops with him, with him with him with him. He can’t help it.

He’ll still follow you around base like a poor puppy too, and maybe you know he does and maybe you don’t. Perhaps it’s from a distance, the man is a silent giant after all.

You’d have to explicitly tell him to back off if you wanted him too. Until then? You’re still his favorite person, darling, he’s just being a friend.

Even if you’re starting to lack in that department. Don’t worry, he’ll maintain it enough for the both of you.

i hate that the general public has the ideia that sandor only sees sansa as a "little sister" and has a stronger bond with arya… got did irreparable damage to society

I get far less mad at the "He's closer to Arya" thing when the people saying it are honest about refering solely to show as that's the only version of the story they've consumed. What I cannot stand is the people that only watched the show and then try to use it as evidence to claim Sandor was closer to Arya IN THE BOOKS THEY'VE NEVER EVEN FUCKING READ!

Buddy, in the books he beat, threatened and insulted her every other paragraph. He HAD moments of campassion towards her, and Arya did take notice and retribute it sometimes, but their dynamic is overwhelmingly negative and toxic. They're not friends, he doesn't see her as someone dear to him, and Arya was 110% justified in leaving him to die - something Sandor himself acknowledges.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe has good in him, and that he will BECOME a good person, as that's clearly what's being set up, but for 90% of the story he is an absolute bastard, even when actively trying to be nice to the Stark girls - and he has ALWAYS put way more effort to be gentler towards Sansa than he ever did to anyone else on Earth, Arya very much included.

He talks about her all the time, makes his romantic/sexual interest in her very clear, and cries on his "death" about how he failed to protect her. More importantly, while he DID threaten Sansa when offering to rescue her, he was in the middle of a PTSD episode, and all it took for him to breakdown crying and leave her alone was her singing a song about mercy. He never bonded with Arya on that level or ever got even close to respecting her wish to not be around him like he did with Sansa.

And let's not forget why Sansa sang to him: because Sandor demanded a LOVE SONG about the fool-turned-knight that rescued the pretty girl and then became her lover. He wants to be Sansa's hero and wants her to LOVE him. He almost kissed her during that whole mess, and George R.R. Martin has Sansa misremember the event to include an actual kiss, because Sansa was, in his own words, "correcting" that moment - not by ignoring all the awful parts of it mind you, but by making Fantasy!Sandor act on his obvious attraction to her, because the fact that he didn't was more important in her head than him literally threatening her life.

In case that last bit didn't make obvious: the book was not subtle about Sandor NOT thinking of Sansa as his "little sister", but as the object of his lust/love AND the poor, innocent maiden that is waiting for a true knight to rescue her and safely take her back to her family's castle - and despite her not being reckless enough to run off with such an unstable man, Sansa DOES have feelings for him too. Hell, even the show wasn't always unwilling to go there, as they do have some moments that scream "there's something there"

I REALLY need to make a whole separate post on how GOT completely destroyed Sansa and Arya (plus Sandor) as characters, and how their dynamics with "The Hound" were all wrong since Dumb & Dumber clearly didn't get that they were not supposed to side with Sandor's "everyone is awful, so all awful things are justified" mentality.

The whole season 1 of arcane we've been told that Powder is gone, only for season 2 to be mostly about Powder even if she called Jinx.

You see, Jinx in the end of season 1 is already fully established character . She's reckless and unpredictable, but also has people she can tolerate and care for. She's no leader still.

Than there had been a rumour about Jinx being absent for the most of the season. As repulsive as it was at that moment, It'd be much better than what we've got. Why so? Her character arc is on the stage of Heimerdinger. A-ka, we know all her possible spectrum of reactions that we can get at this stage of the story.

Being in the midst of chaos in Zaun? Check. It was important at the beginning of the season 1 before all the wreck with Hextech.

A dear member of newfound family with strong political beliefs? Check. Doesn't mean their dynamic lacks. It should've been central point for Jinx's story. But I'll return later to it.

Found long lost family member? Check. This time it's Vander instead of Vi.

We've already seen Jinx being angry, happy, bored, stressed and in grief. We've seen both versions of her in those states. More than that, why give us powerful scenes with Ekko on the bridge and the tea party if she still meets them on the same side of battle no later than in first half.

So what I'm saying is the only interesting dynamics Jinx has and develops is with Isha.

No matter how much I like Jinx & Sevika, their time in the story should be left as it is, no more. Sevika has to go past her "right hand of the leader", because of how painful it can be for viewers.

Now Jinx & Isha. Again, cut everything but this dynamic out. Let Isha to force Jinx join forces with Vi to help Warwick. Not like really force, but for Jinx to use Isha's wishes as excuse to do things she would've done anyway.

The only major plot issue in the story is jail line. Jinx haven't confronted in battle anyone but Warwick. Then Jesus Jinx scene is absolutely useless, we already have Victor depicted this way and Jinx isn't a leader at all. Singed and Isha's interaction leads nowhere but to announce Warwick. Overall plot of one-three episodes (including rebellion) is used for two things: Singed in Piltover, Warwick meets Jinx. So little events could've been put in one or two scenes.

As result, character degradation to the stage in the middle of season 1, scenes and side plots absolutely unneeded. They should've followed old trope of "hero became too big to be a protagonist" and just leave more space for Ekko, Katelyn, Warwick and Jace.

what I find really upsetting about Ichigo’s dynamic with his friends/family/mentors is how they treat the fact that he’s part-Hollow. especially when it comes to the Visored and Orihime.

bc yeah, the Visored did struggle with their Hollows, bc they already lived hundreds of years without that aspect. they were comfortable with their shinigami existence, but then this hollowfication bullshit drops on their heads and suddenly they’re not only barely in control of themselves, constantly in a fight with an inner “demon”, but also there’s no one to support them AND they’re getting fucking exiled and then they exist as this tightly knit community of eight for a fucking century with no one to understand them but each other. I’d hate the Hollow in me too, probably.

BUT, then there’s this fresh guy, that hasn’t accepted the fact that he’s now an amalgamation of a million different things, including something that he has been told he has to fight and exterminate, that they have to teach to manage the hollowfication bullshit™️ so what do we do? correct, scare the shit out of him and present existing with a Hollow as amensalism (one is harmed, one is unaffected) or parasitism (one benefits, one is harmed) when it’s more like commensalism (one benefits, one is unaffected), in which the shinigami is clearly the one who’s benefiting from this.

(although we could argue that for the Visored this is a symbiotic relationship in which both are getting harmed, but even then the shinigami still gains benefit and the Hollow gets nothing but hatred, so like, fuck them, lol (I’m advocating for inner-Hollow rights 💀🙏🏻)).

biology lesson out of the way, they essentially do not teach Ichigo anything that would bring long-term benefits (we see this when Ichigo is unable to complete his training with Squad 0, bc he has no fucking idea who Zangetsu (or he himself) actually is (this is, of course, in part his quincy power’s doing, but I wouldn’t say his supposed “mentors” helped much).

in conclusion what does Ichigo get out of this? self-hatred and the habit to suppress what is, whichever way you look at it, a big part of his being, thus blocking himself and Zangetsu from reaching their full potential.

but I guess you can’t teach lessons you haven’t learnt yourself, so there is that with the Visored.

now onto my dear Orihime, who I love dearly (this is a disclaimer). for someone who, supposedly, loves Ichigo more than anything and who we have to take seriously as not only just a potential love-interest, but the actual, one-and-only lover, she is a little bit too scared of Ichigo.

this, of course, for me, begs the question of how am I supposed to accept a love-interest who is consistently terrified of the mc? not a single battle with Orihime present (and Ichigo using the mask) without her shaking in fear and having to be reminded by others (who have known him for much less time than she has), that not only is it still Ichigo in front of her, but he’s also fighting and pulling out the mask he himself doesn’t like much, in order to protect her.

it’s plain and simple upsetting how there’s absolutely no one to accept and embrace the essence of Kurosaki Ichigo. everyone around him wants the shinigami and human in him, no one is interested in the Hollow (except for *ahem* Grimmjow *ahem*), all they do is reject and cower and isn’t that fucking hypocritical after hiding behind his back and begging him to save them?

everyone around Ichigo just really pisses me off with their constant whining. I feel like the only ones who love and cherish Ichigo for the absolute gem of a person he is are Chad and the fucking Arrancars 💀🙏🏻

as I mentioned in the ALT to the last photo in this parade of idiocy: trying to separate and think of Hollow Ichigo and Ichigo as two different entities is crazy and delusional behaviour, bc we have been told countless times, that a person’s inner Hollow is a manifestation of all repressed emotions and traits that they view as unsavoury. which for Ichigo happened to be aggression, cruelty, being merciless and thirst for bloody battles.

let me remind everyone that you cannot truly love a person w/o accepting and acknowledging all their flaws (including yourself).

this is not me trying to say Orihime doesn’t love Ichigo, it’s not really about the characters, more so the writing. I am actively trying to square up with Tite Kubo. for many reasons, but this is one of the ones I pay most attention to.

Ichigo is someone who is in perfect control of himself, who protects no matter what, bc even when he turned into the vasto lorde (after getting his heart ripped out of his chest) it was all his Hollow, yet it still carried out the mission of protection seamlessly, that’s how strong his will is. Kurosaki Ichigo deserves ppl who actually love him around, thank you.

Some ideas could be like their dynamic, the relationship between brothers and how s/o handles it, the difference between personalities of the twins and their own relationship with s/o? If you wanted to add a little nsfw you can as well- really anything you want

Dear anon, there are too many things we could cover and unfortunately I couldn't write all of them. This is a great concept. Maybe someday I could explore more and write them (such as interactions with the rest of the GOMs), but for now, here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy! And again, apologies for the delay. ^^

Pairings: Bokushi x reader, Oreshi x reader

Having a twin could be a double-edged sword. On one hand, Seijuro was glad he had someone to hold intelligent conversations with (let’s be honest, the only mentally stimulating exchanges he had was with his brother). On the other hand, someone else knew his imperfections more than he did. For example, he owned an old, atrocious-looking stuffed donkey and hugged it to sleep. Akashi never uttered a word about it, but the judgemental looks the elder twin gave always left a bad taste in his mouth. Such things like these were blackmail material.

Seijuro and Akashi were both geniuses when it came to strategic board games. Their classmates placed bets whenever they clashed in the club. The twins both knew this. So, they would sometimes ocherstate a scripted game just so they could fool around with their classmates who bet their whole allowance for the wround. The two were just mischievous like that.

(It was only Midorima who knew, being the one who played the two most often.)

They go to different sections—Seijuro in Class 2B and Akashi in Class 2A. Sometimes, they’d be in a mood to prank people (again). “Nee-san, how about we exchange places today?” A chuckle, followed by a shake of the head. “How childish. Let’s do it.”

(This time, not even Midorima caught wind of it. The twins just knew each other so much not one person had looked twice).

Whenever he felt safe and relaxed, Akashi snored, quite loudly and ungracefully like a sleep deprived wild boar. Seijuro kept this secret to preserve the family name, but when push came to shove, he’d have no qualms using this as his blackmail material.

Akashi and Seijuro rarely lost their cools against each other. Sure, they disagreed a lot, but they always respected each other. (They absolutely adored and cared deeply for each other, pun unintended). They’d try to give way to each other as much as possible… except when it came to you.

It was Akashi who met you first, meek and thoughtful as you read a book from the library which he’d been looking for all morning. You raised your eyes when you noticed him, then you delivered him a half-smile. Akashi swore he had never seen anything this beautiful since his mother.

One day, Seijuro had not so casually mentioned about you. “I will pursue her.” Akashi had so many questions. How did he meet you? How can he be so sure about you this early, when Akashi was just starting to get to know you? But one look into those heterochromic eyes, Akashi knew Seijuro was dead set on making you his. With pursed lips, Akashi  decided he wasn't simply going to hand you over.

It was cute at first. You couldn't deny that you actually liked them and that you enjoyed their company. But you’ve heard how intense the two could be. You hadn't expected that it was applicable to them trying to win your attention. 

Akashi would gift you with grand bouquets of roses. Seijuro would bring you home every day (how is it that they have two different cars). Akashi would play the violin for you. Seijuro would write you poems. 

“They're a bit old-fashioned, huh? Akashi-un and Seijuro-kun,” Momoi pointed out. You stared at the latest handwritten letter from Seijuro, blushing profusely as you did so. You shook your head and surrendered to a soft chuckle. “Unfortunately I’m into those types.” 

No one directly confessed to you, but one didn't need those when he had been so blatant about their feelings towards you. 

You were there during the fall out. —“You didn't have to hurt them like that.” “If I hadn't, the team would've fallen apart. You were simply too weak to handle them. I had to step forward.” “Watch your words, Seijuro.”—And it had hurt you as much as it hurt Kuroko and the others. Your heart bled for them. You tried to be there for both Akashi and Seijuro, but what could little old you do anyway?

“Akashi, how can I help?” A smile,one that was strewn with grief and regret. “You being here for me is enough help.”

“Seijuro, talk to me.” He leaned towards you, head resting on your shoulder as your breath hitched. “There isn't anything wrong.”

Honestly, if you could give them both half of your hearts just to steal some of the pain, you would.

Years later, when friendships were mended, resentment vanquished, you stepped into a quiet coffee shop that Momoi showed you. A reunion with the rest of the gang wasn't something you expected to happen, but you were grateful. So grateful you had to hold back the tears when you came inside and see them bickering and laughing like old times. 

The twins were first to notice your presence. “Hey,” they both said in unison, and you had to stifle the laughter as you ambled forward. An empty seat was situated between the two, and you knew they had reserved it especially for you. Sighing good-naturedly, you plopped down in the middle and said, “I swear, you two.”

What a pain.

Bonus

Akashi absolutely abhorred Seijuro cutting his bangs unevenly like that on his own. Being the more “mature” brother, he made no comment. It was a difficult time for Seijuro after all. 

However, years after that, Akashi would bring it up, and call it his “rebellious stage”.

So, I made a post about dove emily, sunset got inspired and made the hawk feathers au

Which is basically, Adam/lilith was made from dirt, eve form a rid, so Sera made the exocists out of Hawk feathers, cause of their hunting ability and stuff; there were about 27 batches in total, the first being jsut lute and then consisting of about 5-10 on avrage afterwards to make 200

That's the summary of it, but into the lore-

despite Sera literally making these people out of bird feathers she, and Adam and the elder angels, don't like them because their so animalistic so they mostly stay in their nest area aka the barracks

Some have more internalized hatred then others, Lull doesn't talk due to internalizing Adam's words meanwhile Gloria doubles down for example. Lute has the most, because of course she does-

Stuff in canon happens, not much to really say there? Most of this au is pre canon and post canon stuff, so like after the Season 1 finale heaven and Hell are chill cause the xterminations have ended

Lute is the main exrocist to visit hell, to I guess keep heaven up to date and stuff, her and Vaggie end up making up because they realize they aren't in the same flock and vaggie knows that, back then, if she'd seen soemone do it she mightve dine the same to get rid of any disadvantages for the flock, and also competition because her and Lute would spar and 'fight' for 2nd rank all the time

So their cool. Lute ends up falling due to going stir crazy out of grief, there's only so much those cisisys and spars with Vaggie cam do after all. So she falls and her and Vaggie end uo fighting for real where she breaks down and Charlie decides she doesn't exactly liek heaven anymore and the others don't think exemption is worth it if they'll end up in a semi-corrupt place like that

Meanwhile up in heaven the flock is destroying shit because "wtf do you MEAN you made their leader fall!?!?" Emily is the one to tell them beacsue she feels absolutely sick at how and what happened during the trial

Side note, Emily moved out and can't even look Sera in the eye anymore

They end up falling of their own free will and eventually get a nest in the wrath ring due to how closely the sin matches them; wrath being very family oriented and farm work being abundant so they won't go stir crazy or get bored, they do often visit the hotel though

This ends with them following vaggie one day and getting training lessons from Carmilla, who they call 'mother carmine' due to thinking it's a title. Lute is VERY jelouse of it and challenge Carmilla, who does NOT take it seriously and instead asks why they keep calling her moth carmine because someone bursting into your house and yelling that they challenge you "mother carmine to a fight" is anyones breaking point-

They end up having tea and Carmilla explaining family dynamics to Lute, amd ends up learning of the forced parentification she'd been out through via Sera. Her and Lucifer share custody of the strange bird children and start a 'hate sera' club

After this, Emily actually ends up falling because the elders rekauze she's going to end up causing a wave of change they don't like. They blame sir pentious for corrupting her and they both fall, lucifer sensing the presence of an angle goes and finds them and promptly brings them back to the hotel for a teary renuin with pentious and a awkward one with Emily

Sera meanwhile is questioning her life choices and getting a bit more aggressive from the grief and working 24/7, the elders force her to take weeks off at a time due to how bad at gets

Lute and Emily end up bonding, Emily goes downstairs and sees Lute at the hotel and wanting to make a good impression and use her brid nosies she's been forcing down tries to chirp a greeting......she chirps a mating call by accident instead, her and Lute have a class about that and she gets to ehsr a hawk mating call

They are both very much denying their feelings for one another, and also due to Lute being a hawk and Emily being a dove, they don't fully realize their trying to court one another subconsciously until they both do a bunch of research-

They get together after a game at wrath where Emily was watching Lute, who asks to kiss her afterwards

Meanwhile for Carmilla, she's adopted Bish, who turns into Bishop after finding out what nombinary means

Side note, the exorcists have a LOT of fun when they learn about genders and sexualities, soem don't care like lute whose demiromantic, and some do like Gloria whose happy she has a label now, Lulls jsut happy her gf is happy

They also have fun with air dye and stuff like that.....a LOT of paint and hair dye is eaten by them- which prompts stick to bring out a list of what they've eaten. If they were human they'd be dead.

Ahem, back to the main story......actually I think that's it?? I mean right now me and @sunsetcougar are talking about the trials nd how Emily and Lute get together so- that's the timeline for now I guess??

Which, side note about the trial, Lute was chained and muzzled so- angst horrayyyyy

And all the exrocists get therapy, especially Lute who dehuminazes herself a lot, most of the other stuff is like, Emily helping Kute calm down with singing and chirps, trapping Lute to get her on a healthy sleep schedule, etc

Thoughts on Uzi x Doll x Cyn?

As a polycule, it definitely would have a different dynamic than just Dollzi on its own. So rn, I'll focus on the polycule, and can go into Dollzi in of itself some other time, especially due to having AU headcanons for those two.

So for this ship, Cyn likes her Disassembly Drones like pets. Precious to her, good companions, but a novelty more than anything. Other hosts for Absolute Solver however? Those are her dear, dear possessions. Beloved drones whom she so eagerly sees as a part of herself.

What could be more intimate and close than literally sharing a consciousness with someone? Their mind rewritten with traces of your own code? A constant presence in their mind, physically unable to be separated.

This would make Nori and Yeva her exes in Cyn's pov, as they were the only ones able to literally eject her from their code via the patch. A harsh and cruel way to break up with someone who simply wanted to provide for them.

But it doesn't matter now, because she has Uzi and Doll, and Cyn will not let them go so easily. She happily keeps them both on a short leash, depriving them of everything, good friends, caring family, and other necessities, so that they are forced to rely on her, and crave her love. Of course, Cyn also wants her beloveds to get along, and with both of them being so isolated and going through similar struggles, it's easy for the two to bond. There was a major bump at the start, as with them both being isolated for such a long time, both Doll and Uzi had severe trust issues, and aggression issues. But after realizing they both were connected with Cyn, things fell into place.

Once their bond became more relaxed, and secured, the two fell fast and hard for each other. Cyn's body still hasn't arrived to Copper9 yet, and couldn't tangibly be there for them outside of using Absolute Solver. So they were extremely touch starved, and desperate for that physical reassurance. Cyn adores her little possessions, and would give them the universe. No one else is allowed to have them or harm them. She won't loose them this time, not like with previous possessions.

She thought it would be fine to let her possessions befriend some of her favorite pets. Now everything is starting to go wrong.

Uzi and Doll are so conflicted. For the longest time, Cyn was all they had. They love her, they owe her everything. But they are so tired. They hadn't noticed all the little ways Cyn has been hurting them, and having the truth all laid out like that by N and V is overwhelming. They know they need to break things off with Cyn, but how does one even do that when she's bound to their code? And if they broke things off, then what? What would happen to them? They have each other, but they both have relied on Cyn for so long. They would need to relearn so many things. Who would they even be without her?

Cyn is deeply hurt. Her dear possessions are trying to leave her again. She won't let that happen. She will keep them as part of her, even if she has to destroy them to do it.

Chapter 43 Glazing

Just. Wow. Where to begin, dear void? It's hard not to post full pages from this absolute gut punch of a chapter... what a perfect way to hit the climax of this arc. I guess it's appropriate to talk about Hakuri and Mr. Proceeder himself before anything else. A bit of irony first... Hakuri gets his dad, but Kyoura didn't get him until it was too late.

I know this is most likely trauma speaking for Shiba and the other war vet, but they're right. Kyoura's in his death throes right now, everything's gone to shit, but...

... they're underestimating him and his fanaticism to the clan's tradition. Everyone is, and I don't blame them- Magatsumi's freaky as fuck even sheathed. Except there's one person who knows just how strong Kyoura's will is...

... and is going to use it to make sure every last person is saved.

Hakuri really is his father's son. And I'm just in fucking awe that Chihiro's insanity is on their level. It takes one crazy person to perfectly harmonize with another after only knowing each other for a week, I guess. I wonder if we'll see that part of their dynamic explored at all... deprogramming Hakuri so he's not just replacing fanatic devotion to the Rakuzaichi/Sazanami Clan with Chihiro's cause or something? I'll keep the Hakuri agendaposting to a minimum (for me) but c'mon, wouldn't it be awesome to hear Chihiro echo his dad's words from Ch. 14 to encourage Hakuri to grow and find his own identity? 'Cause, y'know:

Ch. 1 vs 43

"Your best would have been believing in Hakuri" is recalled for the fourth time for a reason. If you haven't caught on by now, it's not too late: Kyoura was a shitty dad and Chihiro took that personally. And it was the one fatal flaw that doomed a man with a will of adamant. 'Cause holy shit man, even though I'm glad this dude is dead, I respect the fuck out of him. He overcame the influence of the scariest of all the WMDs Kunishige made and died as himself, regrets and ego fully intact. I applaud Hokazono-sensei for making me feel for this guy without redeeming him.

I cannot say this strongly enough: Kyoura was a victim who perpetuated his own abuse. He couldn't break the cycle even though his wife's bitter dying words left him yearning for the family he could have had. It's not clear if it's a true flashback or a vision of what could have been, but the dinner table scene being shattered by the memory of Kyoura's father telling him to lead the clan is art. Another mangaka might have reversed the order so we see him being indoctrinated first and wistful second. Just for those pity points and to twist the knife a little. But no, Kyoura is completely unrepentant to the last. The only thing he yields on is throwing Hakuri away. Not his conviction to put the Rakuzaichi above his family, nor ignoring his wife's final words. His dying regret wasn't even purely being the world's worst dad. It was mixed with the fact that he failed to secure the success of the goddamn auction by misjudging his "worthless" son. To the very end, Kyoura lived as the Sazanami patriarch.

His parting words to Chihiro have me going absolutely insane too. They're an indication that yeah, finally, he gets it. He was a bad father and he reaped the consequences. His other two sons are dead because of him, and the one he mistreated finally surpassed him after all.

Chapter 39 vs. 43

[screaming softly] aaaaaaaaahhhhh

The whole world disappears as Hakuri is finally the only worthy person in his view. His greatest shame looks down on him taking his last breaths and only now does he feel the magnitude of his mistakes. Because Hakuri never did anything wrong to begin with; Kyoura himself failed the family and the clan. He lays down the sword, choosing to die as himself rather than keep fighting the Magatsumi's wielder to the bitter end. It's time to admit he was wrong.

And thus the cycle is broken at last.

Smaller Observations

More food imagery yay!

We never see Mrs. Sazanami's face. I wonder if there's going to be a Lost Mother arc for Hakuri in addition to Chihiro's. We know she's dead, but I saw a theory floating around that maybe she was more affectionate to Hakuri than his siblings to compensate for the abuse he was enduring. Soya's obsession with him "staying lovable" would have started from this. I think Soya was just irredeemably broken and cruel, but it's interesting to think about!

She's not even close to eating at the table, looks like she might have just sat down after putting out all the dishes or something. A caretaker who didn't participate in the family's joy is my guess (based on her monologue in the hospital flashback).

Soya can't let Hakuri have nice things even in this happy vision of the family

Braidbro and Sazasis aren't here, so I think there's a "core" family that Hakuri et. al. were part of and branch families that still carried the Sazanami genes but weren't in contention for running the show. The nameless kids that greeted Kyoura upon his return to the estate in chapter 22 also called him "father" so is it a title thing, or maybe Kyoura just had a bunch of concubines and one main wife? Inquiring minds want to know.

Speaking of Chapter 22, actually...

The auction house is in Tokyo but the actual Sazanami estate is somewhere remote and secluded. The backgrounds in the table scene are more reminiscent of an apartment in an urban setting:

So I'm gonna lean on this particular scene being a "what if" rather than a true flashback. But it's still vague enough to be open to interpretation. Now I'm super curious about how Hakuri ended up in the city to meet his fated samurai though... another thing to headcanon a scenario for I suppose.

Arraigned marriage... to ensure that Isou was passed on? A business relations agreement with another family? A deal to let her avoid being sold as merchandise? Why are there so many dead/missing moms in Kagurabachi anyway?

I think I have a slightly different interpretation of events here than most will, but I'll try to explain. The subspace collapsed into nothingness as Chihiro reached for the last person, so no one could be yeeted out any more. They managed to pull everyone out in time yay! Chihiro's safe too, yay! But while Hakuri put all the other people outside of the auction house, Chihiro ended up on the stage. I believe this is by Hakuri's design rather than Chihiro being placed at random. This is a huge moment for all three characters involved and it's absolutely enhanced by the understatement of the art. Kyoura finally admitting Chihiro was right is immensely powerful catharsis for us and our samurai, and that's definitely the perspective we're meant to see it from first But my boy Hakuri put him there to hear it. He violated the sanctity of the auction instead of bringing Chihiro out closer to himself and Shiba for the getaway. Fuck this family and it's tradition. It's DONE. The Rakuzaichi and Sazanami legacy are tarnished for good; Hakuri made sure of it. Maximum feels for our boy finally eradicating this loathsome event at every level!

And finally, last but certainly not least:

Hiyuki continues to be best girl, as expected. She's put off by the insanity on display from Chihiro, Kyoura, and Hakuri but it it also grounds her a bit. She can't let innocents die, so she chooses to protect Hakuri. I love her so much and I hope she can give him shit about threatening to leave her in the storehouse forever one day.

As an aside, after learning that Hokazono-sensei is a fan of Arcane I can't help but think of Hiyuki as a Vi expy. If she is, I hope she's pan, bi, or a lesbian. I love strong, badass hot-headed women who love women. I don't mind her being endgame with Chihiro either but the idea of seeing her get flustered over Hinao in a swimsuit lives rent free in my head, y'know? Her personality archetype begs to be lightly teased by seeing a hot girl and instantly losing 70 IQ.

...Anyway.

What happens from here on out is anyone's guess. We knew about the Rakuzaichi auction as early as chapter 7 but there's nothing set up for the future as of now. Whether or not Team Goldfish manage to recover the Shinuchi (betting they won't), I think we will take a bit of a break after the next chapter. We definitely need a lull to let the characters heal and breathe before building up the next arc.

My best guess is that we'll have downtime for a chapter or so before a lead for another sword is found to set up the next mission. So far we've explored Death of the Author and Generational Trauma... what's going to be next? I can't wait! I never expected themes like this to be explored so thoughtfully and thoroughly in a WSJ series...! For the first time in a long time I'm not just reading an action manga with some mature themes. I'm reading some really insightful commentary on the nature of legacy, trauma, and family dynamics that happens to have the best fight choreography I've ever seen. Truly tenoi.
