Overtime overture - Richie Jerimovich x reader
Carmen Berzatto was a fucking dumbass. Okay, let’s rewind and put our customer service attitude on. Carmy was running this whole place by himself. That came with changes, wild cards. Syd’s stage was one. Your starting as a rookie part-time waitress was another. Everyone else knew their schedules by heart. And they had the common sense to remind your boss when they were supposed to end a shift. Not you though. That’s how you ended up working a few hours overtime in the biggest rush you’d ever seen. Alongside the man you had a massive work crush on.
So, how did you get there? You started your regular shift at 14, barely avoiding the lunch time rush. Still, the place was a bit more lively than usual. So Carmy did the logical thing. Forsake training you on a new station and gave you the work you were familiar with. Which was precisely the register with Richie. There was only 1 problem - you had no knowledge on how to enter the orders. So you did the rest while your coworker was busy. Between arranging plates, walking to tables and cleaning trays, you were too. Even in the quiet moments you tried to slip away, making drinks and getting the lobby more pristine. Yet there were still moments where you were too tired to even do anything except stand. Then Riche talked to you about college. You asked about his kid. Safe, work friendly topics. You cringed as you remembered how he had scolded you and Syd for talking about your exes last week, making you prepare for closing instead. That didn’t even top your most embarrassing moment. When Carm dismissed you with a ‘’bye bye, mai thai’’, you blurted out ’mai thai, that’s what got me to lose my virginity’ before thinking. Your boss barely registered what you said, while Richie doubled over in a hyena-like laughter. You were so done with everything that you didn’t even care until later. By the time you got home, you were so mortified that you considered just quitting tomorrow. Luckily no one made any references and you kept your paycheck.
Little by little, the hours trickled by. It was finally 22, time for you to go home. You looked at Carmy, who glanced down at the schedule and continued giving orders to the kitchen. You waited a bit more, I mean a couple of minutes wouldn't kill you. And it would help your already dwindling bank account. Plus, who even came to the restaurant this close to closing?Festival goers, that’s who. Apparently there was a big music event happening and the restaurant’s hours were different. And all of your coworkers but you knew about it. Which would make sense, since you weren’t working closing, they were. But little by little you were getting nearer to that. And there was no way in hell you were working a 12 hour shift, walking home and then showing up again tomorrow. Yet, Richie was working so hard, already overwhelmed, even with your help. So you couldn’t just leave him to handle all these people and their orders. Seriously, they were in and out, as soon as you handed one takeaway bag, another person queued up. Richie could see you starting to struggle. You were slower, leaning more against the counter, he could even hear you swear in a foreign language. But before he could ask, there was another person with a bright sequined outfit asking for a sandwich. It was 12.30, and things were finally calming down. When the lobby was empty, you turned to your coworker and asked
‘’You think you can handle it on your own?’’.
‘’Yeah, why? Oh, you probably wanna go home. When does your shift end anyway?”
“At ten.”
“Ten? That was more than two hours ago. Why did you stay?”
“You needed the extra pair of hands.”
‘’You’re a fucking angel. Let’s get you out of here. Cousin.’’ Richie yelled for Carm and there went your subtlety. Still, the man you had been helping the last few hours let you speak. Your boss apologized profusely, offering you everything. Then moments later got into a screaming match with Richie over the latter driving you home, instead of finishing his shift. Ah, the duality of men. You guessed guilt won over, because as soon as you were done changing, your crush was there, car keys in hand.
‘’Won’t you get in trouble? I mean, there might still be people and what if Carmy gets pissed.You can still go back and finish up.’’
‘’I’m not gonna let you walk 30 minutes in the dead of night. And before you say anything, I know you’ve done it before. When I’m on schedule you don’t have to anymore, it doesn't matter if you end at 20 or 3 in the morning.’’
Seeing him be so kind was a surprise, so you only managed a ‘’Thanks Richie’’ before heading to his car. By habit you went to the backseat and got scolded by a ‘’I’m not a chauffeur, you know.’’. So you quickly scrambled out and moved by him. Your mind flashed with the words suspended license as you fastened your seatbelt. But he was careful, very much so. You, on the other hand, were so bad at actually guiding him, that the Google Maps voice had to fill the awkward silence. When his car was in front of your building, you were relieved and basically ready for bed.
‘’Thanks for everything, Richie, really.’’
‘’You’re welcome, angel.’’. You guess that the nickname was gonna stick, whether you liked it or not. Problem is that you did enjoy it, even a bit too much. Darling, sweetie, honey, your colleagues had cycled through all of those when they had trouble learning your name. Chef seemed to take priority over all of these. But now, every time Richie saw you he’d call you the new name. You’d expected it the day after, but even a week later he was still at it.
‘’You’re my angel, you know that right?’’
‘’Don’t let the actual Angel hear you. You’ve helped me out so much since starting, it’s only fair.’’
As you were giving a coffee to a customer insisting they didn’t need a takeaway lid, the older man went to also make himself a latte. As if on cue, Carmy calls you both ‘’5 minutes, drinking break’’. Needing the fresh air, you also go out and the smell of strong cigarettes hits you. Knowing your need to fit in, he offers you one. Surprisingly you take it and lean into his lighter. He remembers teasing you about not being able to operate one, your cigarettes with foil, etc. All your inexperienced charm was cute. It scratched the part of his brain that watched hardcore porn, that did a double take when you wore pink dresses. Even if he cringed when you were too young to get his references, your expressions of concentration went straight to his cock. After a couple of shifts, his searches drifted from milf towards college girls. The flame illuminates your blush. Why do your lips wrapped around his ciggie make him as hard as a rock? It was wrong to get the hots for you like that. Maybe it was just a fucked up close proximity thing, like the romance books you cooed about. There was only one couch or whatever. Riche wasn’t blind, he could see the looks that Carmy and Sydney gave each other. Hell, even sometimes he swore your eyes lingered on him. The Bear had its allure, it was a crockpot for not only fights, but sexual tension.
He must’ve zoned out way too much because you called ‘’Earth to Jerimovich, hello. Carmy is gonna have our collective ass.’’ Richie almost mutters something about having your ass before stopping himself. He just stubs his cigarette out and goes back to working the register with you. Thankfully the clients killed his stiffy before you could say HR violation.
Richie kept his promise. Despite ending his shift a whole hour before you, he was there, waiting. At this point, there was no point for you to argue. You just accepted your new role as his passenger princess. But as you initially expected, something went wrong. He stops at your house. You wave goodbye and expect him to drive away, as usual. He doesn’t. More like he can’t. The car sputters but won’t start. His eyes drift to the fuel indicator and he sees it’s completely empty.
‘’Shit, Carmy sent me on that product run before you came in. Must have drained my tank.’’ he concludes, to fill the awkward silence.
‘’You could stay over. I mean, I’m not sure if it’s gonna be more comfortable, but at least then my roommates won’t call the police on you.’’ you say, half trying to appease the guilt in you and half because you wanted to spend more time with him.
‘’Hey, my car isn’t that old that I look like a hobo. Right? Anyway, you don’t have to do that just because you feel bad for me’’. He hit the nail on the head, but you couldn’t let him know that.
‘’Richie, it’s fine. Tit for tat, you scratch my back, I scratch yours.’’
‘’It will turn cold as fuck, it’s fucking February.’’ he thinks out loud. ‘’Okay.’’
He’s stealthy, fitting his large frame into the disheveled college apartment you share with your housemates. You forget just how disheveled your room is. Richie’s eyes dart from the plushies on your bed to the alcohol bottles balancing your stacks of books. You bend over your bed to fix the covers, and he swears there’s a flashing neon sign above your ass saying ‘’Smack me’’. He turns his head and he sees it. A pack of condoms. Brand new, unopened, name brand condoms. In order to not explode on the spot, he asked ‘’So, can you hand me the extra pillow and a blanket or something.’’. Richie was happy with the floor, he really was. It would be the same as his car. Besides, one night of bad sleep wasn’t going to kill him. But then, you reminded him why he fucking called you his angel.
‘’You can take the bed with me’’. He must’ve made a face, because you clarified ‘’God, not like that. Ummm I meant that it’s a big mattress. There’s enough space for two people to lay down without touching. Plus by the time you get comfortable, I will be dead asleep already.’’
You were wrong. In your own room, your own bed, you were wrong. You had shared it with friends, even a few lovers. But none of them had been as tall as Richie, as broad as him. No matter how any of you moved, there was no way to avoid skin to skin contact. You’re convinced your colleague was too tired of you cause he was fast asleep. Finally you just give up on trying to be comfortable, lay on your stomach and bury your face in the pillow.
It must have been muscle memory. That was the only rational explanation as to why Richie wakes up in the middle of the night with his hands gripping your ass. He moves them immediately, ready to apologise, to move to the floor, to fucking leave Chicago. You don’t even stir, finally sleeping heavily. He fucking pops a bonner, like he’s 10 years younger than his actual age. Just as he turned away to tuck it into his pants, and you woke up. Thankfully you didn’t scream or kick him out. You just asked ‘’Need a hand?’’
You weren’t sure what came over you. You never thought you would be this bold. But again, there was no rational way to react to your crush touching himself while laying next to you.
Richie is fucking extatick. But still gentle, having the subtlety you were lacking. The fingers that were on his cock traced over your lips, before he leaned in. His kiss was soft, but needy. Still he wasted no time in pulling you closer to him, rubbing himself against you. Holy shit, the man was hung like a horse. All the rumors about tall men having a third leg certainly were right in his case. You would let yourself be humped by Richie all night, your needy moans muffled by his kisses. He instinctively moves to kiss your neck, nipping at any bare skin he can reach. He thrust against you shallowly and groans.
‘’Tell me what you need, angel. If it’s more, I’ll give it to you. If you want me to stop, fuck I’ll stop. Just please fucking talk to me.’’
‘’More, don’t stop. Clothes off, please. Need to feel you.’’ You swear he had a second job as a stripper, because he shed his shirt and pants off in record speed. He’s toned. You let yourself admire his abs for a moment, even this getting to you. You needed to have him and you needed it now. Your hand gingerly place his hand against your pussy, a silent plea to touch you.
‘’You’re fucking drenched, angel. Do I make you this wet? Just from kissing, huh. Can’t wait to see just how sensitive you are. Would you like that?’’ He asked you, a grin on his mouth.
You nod.
‘’Words, angel. Words, please.’’
‘’Yes Richie, please.’’
That was enough for him to start rubbing your clit, keep you begging and whining. He switches it up curling a finger inside of you and fucking swears. He toys with you, alternating between the two until you come.
Only then does he get up and reaches for the box. You’re too blissed out to be mortified that he saw your contraceptives. You were too busy wondering how he was gonna use them. He opens the package and doesn’t take his eyes off you as he rolls the condom on his shaft.
Richie Jerimovich is a fucking traditionalist, literally. You were ready to tease him about the missionary, to ask if he could handle it. He took a pillow from next to you and placed it under your hips. No one had done that before, but before you can ask what’s going on he taps the head of his cock against your clit. The first thrust is shallow. But the second one is so deep inside you, that you can’t help but say
‘’Holy shit’’
‘’Language, angel’’ You have half a mind to flip him off, but then he moves again and all your thoughts are gone. You had never been this wet before. And he fucking started rubbing your clit in time with his thrust. You can’t help but fucking moan, and along with the sounds of the headboard hitting the wall, it’s a fucking cacaphony. Richie muffles your sounds with his hand.
‘’Let’s not have the whole building know my name, huh angel. After all, if you get a noise complaint now, I’ll have to stop.’’
You whine and that’s all he needs to keep going. Richie feels that you’re close, you were fucking clenching against him. His pace picks up, he’s chasing his own relief. He’s determined to make you come a second time, to show you he’s all about your pleasure. There’s also a little voice in his head, saying that if he orgasms before you, he’s too old for this. Spent, you groan out ‘’Cumming,please’’.
Were you begging for more or for permission, he wasn’t sure. Both options sounded fucking great to him, so he said ‘’That’s it, let go. Such a good fucking girl for me,angel’’.
Usually the girls he’d hook up just mixed in ‘’yes’’ and ‘’fuck’’ when they orgasmed. You fucking managed to say ‘’Richie Jerimovich, you’re a fucking god’’. That’s all he needs to follow suit and come. He rolls off of you, panting and sweaty, ready to throw the used condom in your thrash. You, in all your fucked out naked glory, manage to dart to the bathroom, grab the toilet roll. After he wipes, you return, aiming to avoid a UTI. When you’re back, he’s waiting with his fucking arms draped against your spot, clearly wanting a cuddle. In his arms, you finally managed to get some good sleep.
Morning comes. Richie stays, because of course he does. It turns out both of you don’t really do this. So it’s a very long and awkward silence before one of you suggests breakfast. While you’re eating, he somehow manages to get himself a free toll from a friend of a friend who owes him. Finally, you manage to say only a portion of what you want, namely
‘’Richie, ummm can we do this again. I think after last night I’ll have to go to the walk in every time you brush past me.’’
‘’Of course, angel. I’m not nearly done with you.’’
You choke on your food, having the feeling that it’s not gonna be the only thing you’d be choking on in the future. God bless Carmen Berzatto and his inability to remember your schedule.

ℑ𝔩𝔩 𝔐𝔢𝔱 𝔟𝔶 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔩𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱
werewolf!könig x fem!reader
Prologue | October 29th
Summary: You're a bakery worker in the small, isolated town of Heiligenblut, Austria. könig is a hunter and lumberjack who stays to himself and always has an aura of mystery and darkness. and through a series of strange circumstances, you're the one to uncover his secret. (set in the modern-day) CW: like all of my fanfics reader is fem she/her, adult content, predator/prey dynamics, werewolf-fucking, mentions of animal carcasses and blood, a bit unsettling at times. (can't think of anything else atm, this might count as dark content? not sure) WC: 1.8k
your life had always been fairly predictable. your hometown was so small that most people knew everyone else's business, tourists came and went on schedules like birds migrating for winter, all stores in town were open from monday through saturday, the church bell rang at the top of every hour, you always baked the same things with the same ingredients each day.
and of course, you knew all the regular customers' routines. elderly customers would always come in the morning, schoolchildren in the mid afternoon, working mothers and courthouse employees during their lunch breaks. the labor-men of the town - lumberjacks, hunters, farmers - would always be the first people to show up at the bakery, even before the elderly, to get the freshest items. that was, all of the working men except for könig.
rather than get the freshest goods first thing in the morning, könig would instead come into the bakery the minute before closing. and each time, he came in sweaty and dirty to buy his typical goods: apfel strudel and hausbrot. unlike everyone else in town, könig seemed to have his own schedule. some weeks, he'd come every other day. other weeks, it would be two days in a row and then not until the fifth day. and some weeks, he'd only show up once or twice. könig was never predictable. you tried to learn his schedule when he'd come so that you could have his things ready for him by the time he got there, but it was hopeless with whatever personal clock he ran on. you had accidentally wasted a few strudels and loaves of bread a few times by setting them aside for könig, only for him not to follow the schedule you thought he had. you eventually gave up on predicting his routine, if he even had one.
also unlike most other customers, könig did not speak aside from a greeting or two for politeness. most customers would talk about the weather, the harvest, town gossip. but könig would come in, nod his head to acknowledge you, and say "guten nacht" as he left. and he learned that he didn't need to say his order after a month of you working at the bakery, since he always got the same things each time. he was secretly grateful that you were so observant and had a good memory, because it saved him from speaking too much. you didn't even need to tell him the total anymore, because it was the same every time. he'd hand you the money, and leave. he also never took off the black bandana that he tied around his nose, covering everything except his eyes.
you had heard the townspeople speak of him in admiration laced with fear. könig lived alone in a small cabin a little ways from town, surrounded by the woods. he took up apprenticeship with the local lumberjack when he was 17, and was hunting since he was a boy. he could chop entire trees down with only a few swift swings of his large axe, and could carry whole logs on each of his shoulders. and könig was, with no arguments, the most skilled hunter around. but no one had ever seen him hunt. many young men had approached him, wishing to become his apprentice, but he turned each one down. fathers came begging to him, offering copious amounts of money and supplies if konig could just teach their sons to be half the hunter he was. but konig always said no. there were rumors about the reason why: maybe he strangled his prey with his bare hands, or hunted them with only a knife. or maybe his methods were sacred family tradition, not meant to be shared with anyone. whatever the case, all everyone knew was that könig always had the largest harvest, and the town was never short on meat.
könig always seemed on edge. suspicious. he was never seen out much other than for work and to buy food. sometimes, the townspeople would ask you worriedly if könig had ever caused you any trouble when he came into the bakery at night. you always assured everyone who asked that könig had never caused you any trouble at all. but what you couldn't tell them was that you always had a crush on the brooding, mysterious giant. how could you not be allured by his strength and sheer masculinity? but that was something you always kept to yourself. you had to, because you were sure that the town's most feared and respected man never thought about you other than when you were handing him his baked goods. so you forced yourself to swallow your feelings for him, even though a bright blush would always creep across your cheeks when he came into the bakery, and your panties were always wet after he left. but you didn't know if he even noticed the way you'd shyly blush, only for him.
...
The town was getting ready for the annual Halloween festival, which was one of the largest festivals your town boasted. large pumpkins, countless strawbales, gourds, and squash were harvested from the farms with the most to offer and scattered around the main area of town for the entire month of October. and at night when the sun would set, orange and yellow lights draped across the streetlamps would glimmer in the dark, getting everyone - especially the children - excited for halloween.
the halloween festival culminated in a large feast on halloween night, at exactly 9pm sharp. large wooden tables made from the very trees surrounding the town would be brought to the town square, donned with tablecloths, and adorned with the best harvest the town had to offer. hams, sausages, venison, and beef were aplenty during the festival each year, thanks to könig. your bakery was responsible for supplying the pastries and other sweets, and the farmers for their vegetables. the elderly women would make stews and other warm meals, and the entire town would gather to celebrate halloween and let the children run free. it was because of this festival that october was one of the busiest months out of the year for the town.
but this year, there were rumors beginning to spread.
October 28th
an elderly man came into the bakery on a slow day and chatted with you as you packed his order. he smiled kindly at you, then looked around to ensure no one else was in the bakery.
"have you heard the word around, miss?" the old man asked. you boxed up his pastries and shook your head. "what word? there's always so much going on in this town." you smiled. but your smile quickly faded when you saw the serious look in the man's eyes. he whispered lowly when he spoke.
"word is, the hunter hasn't yet turned in any meat for festival, and it's only in a few days now."
you tilted your head in confusion. "i'm sorry, did I hear you right? könig hasn't turned in any meat at all?" the old man seemed to almost shudder when you said könig's name. "no miss, no meat at all. some say he's lost his touch, others think it's because of a pack of wolves that's made its way into the woods around town this last week."
"a pack of wolves?" you asked. "we haven't had wolves around here for so long, thanks to the men of the village protecting us." the old man shook his head. "no miss, we've been hearing howls at night for the last few weeks. i thought everyone had known about it by now. but it seems no one wants to talk about it."
you thought for a moment. könig hadn't turned in any meat for the festival? that was possibly the strangest sentence you had ever heard. such a thing could not be possible. you cleared your throat. "so what are we going to do for the festival's meat?" the old man shrugged. "i'm not sure miss. some farmers have been talkin' bout offering some of their livestock, but we'd like to avoid that to make it through winter."
your conversation abruptly ended when the hunter himself walked into the bakery and cast it in darkness, like clouds covering the bright full moon. you stared at könig, wide-eyed, for a moment, before smiling at him. "hello. i'll have your order ready in a moment."
the old man fumbled in his pocket and left the money on the counter before you could even open the cash register. he tipped his hat to könig and made a speedy exit with his pastry box tucked under his arm. why did everyone seem so afraid of könig, you wondered?
"that was odd," you smiled a bit to ease the awkward silence that had settled after the old man had hastily left. könig didn't respond, only staring at you with an inscrutable look. you looked at him back, feeling like you were face-to-face with some beast in the woods. the hairs on the back of your neck tingled, and you began to notice little abnormalities in his appearance. but before you could absorb exactly what was different about his appearance, the clock chimed for closing time. you jumped slightly, the tension between you and könig now broken as you looked at the clock. you took a shaky breath in and didn't look at him again as you packed up his order.
könig had already set the money on the counter before you put down his box, and he took the box from your hands before you could place it on the counter. he swiftly turned to leave, his shoulders seeming tense. and it was almost like someone else took control over your body when you forced your now meek voice to speak. "könig? are you okay?"
könig stopped within arm's reach of the bakery door, his wide shoulders spanning the width of the door itself. he slowly turned his head back to look at you, and again you felt like you were confronting a wild beast in the forest. the energy coming off of him felt dark and grim, and the only thing that could be heard was the ticking of the cuckoo clock and your shaky breathing.
"guten nacht," he said gruffly before leaving, the little bell attached to the door chiming in his wake.
you held your breath for a moment longer after he left, your heart hammering in your chest, before you heaved one large breath. you had never felt such tension and fear in your life. you placed your hand over your heart, trying to calm yourself down as you placed your other hand against the countertop for support.
you ran home from the bakery that night, plagued by the feeling that you were being chased.
i hope you guys liked the prologue! it's taken me a while to decide where i want the plot to go, but now i know and expect more soon!

jeonghan - acting
word count : 2,146
-
"yoon jeonghan is korea's number one arrogant heartthrob."
"look at yoon jeonghan's bad boy roles in recent years."
"what makes yoon jeonghan charming?"
-
"everything. everything is charming about him," you said out loud while skimming through articles about your boyfriend on your laptop.
"shouldn't you be looking at news about dokyeom?" seungkwan asked you from his seat across from you.
the two of you were sitting in a busy café together that was almost overflowing with customers from the lunch rush. both of you were friends, and seungkwan was actually jeonghan's manager. you were dokyeom's manager, and both actors were on a shoot together.
"i mean, jeonghan is my boyfriend, so i really need to check on both of them," you replied. not many people knew you were dating jeonghan, but the ones who knew were told to keep it a secret. "should we go check the set now?" you asked, peeking at the time.
"let's get some snacks for the staff," seungkwan suggested and you agreed with a nod.
the two of you gathered your things and bought snacks and drinks for the staff members before leaving. you went back to the building where a tv show was being filmed and set everything out for the staff members.
"and cut! thank you. we'll move onto the next scene," the director spoke.
you peeked at the set and saw a few well known actors and actresses; two of them were jeonghan and dokyeom.
"excuse me, we brought snacks and drinks so please have some," seungkwan announced to everyone.
you walked by the set and noticed that jeonghan was getting his makeup retouched. he was staring at a wall but turned his gaze at one point and noticed you. you waved at him, and he waved back before gesturing you to go over to him.
you walked onto the set and the makeup artist walked to someone else once they were done.
"hi," you said and smiled at him.
"hey," he greeted you with a smile.
"how's the filming going?" you asked him.
he shrugged, "it's alright. we're kind of behind schedule but it should still be okay," he explained to you.
"at least we don't need to rush to that other photo shoot now," you said to him. he was supposed to have a photo shoot for a magazine company, but it was rescheduled due to an internal issue.
"hey jeonghan!"
both of you looked over and one of his costars came up to you.
"oh, am i interrupting?" she asked.
"no, you're not," jeonghan replied. "what is it?"
"are you free for dinner after the shoot? it'll be late, but maybe we can get a quick bite?" she asked him.
well this is awkward.
"yea, sorry. my shoot for this ends earlier than everyone, and i have to go to another schedule," he replied, but you knew he was lying to her.
"oh, okay! maybe next time!" she said before walking away from both of you.
"you have another shoot?" you replied with a smile.
"would you have liked it more if i told her that we're having our usual home date?" jeonghan asked you.
"if everyone knew we were dating, then yes," you replied. "i'm gonna check up on dokyeom. he's probably sad that i talked to you first."
"oh definitely."
-
"noona! why don't you hang out with me anymore?" dokyeom asked as the two of you left the set together.
"hey, we do hang out. i take you to your schedules. i take you out to eat," you replied to him. "you've been busy lately. it's hard to find time to actually hang out when your actor is always booked. you're welcome, by the way."
"i don't have a schedule next sunday, right? let's go out for barbecue. it'll be my treat," he said to you as you walked to the car.
"alright, deal," you replied and unlocked the car. you got into the driver's seat while dokyeom sat in the back. you started the car up and put your seat belt on. "am i dropping you off at home, or am i bringing you somewhere?" you asked him.
"me and hoshi are meeting up at the company building," he mentioned.
you nodded and started driving away from the set.
—
after bringing dokyeom to the company building, you decided to go to your office and make sure dokyeom's schedule for the next week was fully updated. afterwards, you left the building with everything you needed and drove back to your apartment. after about twenty minutes, you made it to the building and parked your car in the garage.
"hurry up already!"
as you got out of the car, you heard a familiar voice basically scold you. you looked over and saw jeonghan waiting for you by the elevator, making you roll your eyes at him.
"what are you doing out here? why didn't you go in?" you asked while walking towards him.
"i wanted to greet you."
you raised an eyebrow, "and you greet me by yelling at me?" you asked.
he smiled, "yea."
you shook your head as both of you went into the building. when the elevator arrived, both of you walked in and you pressed the button to get to your floor.
"so, what do you want to do?" you asked jeonghan.
"hm? there's a lot of things i want to do," he said and he started smirking.
"should i make a complaint with the company? the well known actor is—"
jeonghan interrupted you with a groan, "come on, babe. you do this every time i'm like this. be creative for once with your remarks—ow!" he yelled after you punched his arm. "owwie..."
"want to watch dokyeom's movie?" you asked, "i already bought it."
"can you kiss my boo-boo?" he suddenly asked, making you deadpan as the elevator came to a stop.
the doors opened, "i'm leaving," you said and walked out of the elevator with jeonghan following you.
"wait, no! my love!"
"shh!" you shushed him as you two walked to the door of your apartment. "you trying to get me fired?" you questioned. "do you have the key to the door?" you asked him.
"mhm. you still haven’t put the new one on yet?" he asked while grabbing your hand to hold it. you had to get your lock replaced a few weeks prior, but you somehow kept forgetting about putting the key on your keychain.
"yea, after i closed the door, i remembered that it was on the counter," you mentioned. "i was gonna call you, but you got home late last night."
"i wouldn't have minded," he said as he grabbed his set of keys from his bag. "what are we doing for dinner?"
"what do you want? and don't say—"
"you."
"okay, i'm leaving."
"stop it," he said and tightened his grip. you two reached your apartment and jeonghan unlocked the door. "i'm going to shower first," he mentioned.
"then i'll cook," you replied as you walked in with him stepping in after you.
-
"shit."
you woke up when you heard jeonghan sit up in bed. you squirmed and covered yourself with the blanket.
"what's wrong?" you asked jeonghan.
"someone took a picture of us a few days ago when we went out to dinner," he explained. you instantly threw the comforter off and sat up next to him.
"what?!" you shouted, fully awake and freaking out. you looked at his phone screen and looked at the photo that was taken. "we're with other people though. how can they think that?" you questioned.
jeonghan heavily sighed and scrolled down, "someone must've heard us talking..." he showed you another part of the article. then, his phone started ringing, and you noticed that seungkwan was calling him. "hello?" he answered the call and got out of bed.
you grabbed your phone off of the nightstand and saw messages from your coworkers and your bosses.
oh no...
while jeonghan left the bedroom to talk, you started freaking out because you didn't know what to do. then, your phone started ringing and you answered the call, which was from one of your superiors.
-
"like i said, this won't affect your work, but fans will be upset at you. you're on a really good streak right now, it'd be bad if that ended," seungkwan said to jeonghan.
the actor stood by the windows in the living room, looking down at the city.
"i'll be fine. it's just...what about y/n?" jeonghan asked before glancing over at the bedroom door. it was open so he could still see you in bed. if he had to guess, you were probably on the phone with one of your bosses.
"i'll talk with the higher-ups. maybe...maybe you reveal it if they agree? i think that's better than letting everything go away," seungkwan said to him. "i know only a few of us know about you two, but we support you no matter what."
"thanks, seungkwan."
"i'm heading over to the company building now, so i'll call you later, alright?" seungkwan said.
"yea, talk to you later."
jeonghan ended the call and walked back into the bedroom to find you laying down again. you were sprawled out, and he noticed tears had already fallen.
"oh, baby..." he spoke and climbed onto the bed, hovering over you. "everything will be fine," he said to you and leaned in to kiss your forehead.
"will it?"
"yea, it will, baby."
-
eventually, you went to the company building to have a meeting with one of the directors of the company. you were supposed to bring dokyeom to his schedules, but one of your coworkers stepped in for you instead.
after the meeting with the director, you left and went to the parking lot. sitting in your car, you sighed and tried to clear your head a bit.
then, your phone started ringing. you picked it up and saw that it was jeonghan calling you. you took a deep breath in and out before answering the call.
"yes?"
"where are you?" he immediately asked.
"sitting in my car," you answered.
"in the garage? are you leaving?" he asked you.
"no, i'm just trying to clear my head," you said to him.
"stay there. i'll be down in a second."
he ended the call and you put your phone in one of the cup holders. after a few minutes, someone knocked on the window, and you looked over to see jeonghan outside your car. you unlocked the doors and he opened the door, quickly getting in before closing the door.
"you okay?" jeonghan immediately asked you.
you nodded, "yea. are you?" you asked.
"i'm okay."
"wanna go home?" you asked him.
"sure, let's order takeout too," he replied.
—
once you make it home, food was already waiting at your door. you started setting up lunch while jeonghan sat on the couch.
"hi. it's been awhile."
you looked over from the kitchen and saw jeonghan holding his phone up.
instagram live? with everything that already happened today?
you continued setting everything and grabbing some things from the fridge.
"i talked to the company today about everything. today was a really interesting to wake up to," he mentioned. "i'll be straight forward," he said.
you started moving plates over to the coffee table while listening.
"i have a girlfriend."
you looked at jeonghan, and he glanced over at you for a second before looking back at his phone screen. you continued moving bowls and plates back and forth, letting him continue speaking.
"we've been dating for a few years. we started living together last year," he mentioned, "i won't say her name, she's very shy about publicity. maybe one day, i can post a photo of us that wasn’t taken by paparazzi. baby, come here," he called you over. you hesitated but he gestured you over.
you walked over to him and he grabbed your hand, lacing your fingers together. he pulled your hand into the view of the camera.
"i hope this is enough to prove i'm dating. she's very cute. oh, she's blushing now."
you yanked your hand away from him with a pout while he chuckled.
"okay, i'm going to go now. we're eating lunch together. have a nice day," he said before ending the live.
"they told you to make it public?" you immediately asked him once he put his phone down on the couch.
"no, i decided that on my own," he answered.
you sat down next to him on the couch and kissed his cheek.
"maybe people will stop asking me on dates now," he said, making you both laugh, "but seeing you jealous is quite cute."
"then you should see how many staff members ask me out."
"huh?"
you started laughing while jeonghan hugged you.
"you're mine."
you kissed him, "yours."

I feel like weird kid and Clark are doing so good together. I know from a young age everyone probably thought it would be reader and Bruce together but I think now it’s hard for Bruce to commit to a relationship and he just can’t seem to let go of Selina. I feel like Clark can appreciate and make reader a priority whereas Bruce just always expected reader to be there for him
"Clark!" Martha called leaning out the door, "Be a dear and take some coffee up for me?"
"Ma," Clark chuckled, glancing up from where he was raking leaves, "She's probably not even finished the first cup-"
"It's chilly and she's up there in that wind," she fretted.
"I'll check on it," Clark promised, jogging up the steps and taking the fresh metal mug and kissing her on the cheek before going to check on you where you were working on the panels on the roof.
"You're a good boy. And you're sure she won't take money?"
"Not a dime. All she wants is a good burger. And maybe a beer if it's not too much trouble," he said grinning.
"Lord. Pa is gonna love her forever as soon as he stops playing with his tractor-"
"Still showing off, huh?" Clark asked.
"Cleared our field and now he's working on helpin' everyone else. And tryin' to start a league for tractor pulls."
"Lord." Clark shook his head and let himself drift up, carefully balancing the coffee cup and watching you do- whatever it was you were doing. This wasn't your first solo install. You'd done a couple houses. Enough to have a system and some custom tools to make it easier to maneuver the panels and do the technical things that needed to be done. It had been one of your previous pet projects you'd worked on. The prototype powered the cabin and your workshop. "Ma thought you might need this," he said, proffering coffee.
You nod and wipe sweat off your forehead with your flannel sleeve, settling a pannel into a frame carefully, "Grab that-" you tell him, jerking your head to the drill just out of reach. There was a cramp in your calf from crouching on this incline trying to settle it and you couldn't move that direction.
"Right," Clark said, grabbing it and handing it to you. Setting the coffee on a convenient flat spot and picking you up with one arm to set you on the ground carefully.
"Clark, I'm fine I just-"
"It looked like it hurt like hell," he said cheeks coloring as he rubbed your calf. "I could hear your teeth grinding."
"That panel-"
"It'll sit for a second, won't it?" he asked, starting to unlace your boot when you rotated your foot.
"Yeah but-"
"What happened!" Martha said running out of the house, phone in hand, "Did you fall or-"
"It's just a cramp from being crouched in a weird position-"
"The little panels on the south peak," Clark explained. "That little nook has a sharper incline on it."
"It's not that bad-" you break off with a hiss when pain shot down your leg and Martha tutted.
"Lunch," she declared, "Lunch and a proper break. You been working on that roof since daybreak for two days and yesterday you just had a candy bar and a green thing-"
"It was a protein bar-"
"Honey," she snorted, "That had chocolate on it. It's candy. Carry her inside Clark. I'll get something started."
"Yes'm," he said, grinning as he handed you your boot to carry and scooped you up easily.

Jyn/Cassian, 11
11. 3 AM and I'm still awake (from this prompt list) sometimes, in order to defeat the prompts that are still in your inbox after a YEAR, you have to go into the archives, find an AU you wrote in 2019 (ON PAPER), type it up, and post the first chapter as a prompt fill even though the full fic is incomplete and that stresses you out to think about. this is one of those times. known affectionately amongst a small circle of mutuals by its draft name "sir, this is an IHOP", I'm releasing this one from the vault, please clap... cross posted to AO3 here 🌒🌔
The question Jyn gets asked the most when she tells people she works the overnight shift at a 24-hour diner is, “How do you do it?” As if she’s just admitted to shooting herself out of a canon for a living, which, to be fair, is a thing she wanted to do as a career when she was nine, but that’s beside the point.
The answer to this question is simple: you get used to it. Or, in Jyn’s experience, your life sucks for three weeks while you get used to it and then you get used to it. After that, the weird hours and irregular sleep schedule just become routine.
To be fair, she only started doing the graveyard shift in the first place because she wasn’t sleeping at night anyway and she could get more hours that way. Now, sometimes, she sleeps perfectly well in the daytime when everyone else is at work and then, other times, she doesn’t sleep at all and becomes convinced that she’s the first human being who was born with a biological indifference to sleep. Either way, she manages.
And it’s not actually that bad. The tips are a little worse because there’s fewer customers and they tend to be drunks or insomniacs or plain weirdos who don’t get the concept of twenty percent for good service and usually leave her whatever change they have on them. And sometimes it’s so dead that Jyn literally counts the seconds on the big clock by the door. But it’s also calmer than any other shift at the diner, and sometimes people feel so bad for her being up all night that they tip her extra, which is nice. It all balances out, really.
That being said, the overnight shift doesn’t lend itself to regulars the way other shifts do. She has some, but they don’t tend to be regular regulars. At most, she sees the same drunk college students show up there for breakfast at two a.m. but not the same day every week. Her co-workers that work other shifts talk about old couples that come in for dinner three times a week and always want to sit in the same booth, or the father and daughter who get breakfast every Saturday together that the entire staff fawns over. Jyn doesn’t get regulars like that, and even if she sees the same people, most people don’t want to make conversation as they’re inhaling pancakes in the wee hours of the morning. They barely want to make eye contact with her, honestly.
Not that Jyn minds. She didn’t get into waitressing because of her bubbly personality. She’s good at it, can be pleasant and accommodating when she needs to be, but she’s also fine with customers not wanting to chitchat. It’s one of the perks of the shift, in her mind, and why it suits her to work it, rather than the breakfast or the lunch shift.
Then, she gets a regular of her own and it doesn’t change everything, but it changes enough.
*
The first time he comes in, the restaurant is so dead that for once the manager on duty isn’t on Jyn’s case about drawing in her sketchbook while she’s working. It’s that slow. There’s a couple at a table in the corner that started out their meal by bickering with each other loudly and now Jyn’s pretty sure one or both of them is asleep at the table. She already gave them their check, though, so she’s giving them at least an hour before she bugs them about it. It’s not like she needs to turn over the table or anything.
When the man comes in, the place is so empty that he actually looks around in confusion, which catches Jyn’s attention from where she’s hiding behind the cash register.
“Sit anywhere you like,” she calls to him, half-relieved to have something to do and half-annoyed to have to do anything.
“Oh. You’re open, then?”
“As long as it’s one of the twenty-four hours in the day,” she replies, trying to sound sunny.
“Last time I checked,” the man says, sounding unsure, which makes Jyn smile for real.
She brings a menu over to the table he settles at and offers him her more standard customer service smile. “Hi, I’m Jyn. I’ll be your server this…morning. Can I get you anything to start?”
“Coffee, please.”
“Regular or decaf?”
“Regular, thanks.”
“Sure,” she says. Then she loses her mind momentarily, because she follows it up with, “You want crayons?”
That question clearly throws him, and for good reason. “What?” He asks, blinking up at her.
“Do you want crayons? To color in your placemat?” Jyn asks, less casually. She doesn’t know why she asked in the first place—he doesn’t look like the type, by virtue of not having any children with him and looking to be older than her, if she had to guess—but she does it anyway. Maybe she’s a little punchy from having no one to talk to all night.
Thankfully, he laughs, more like he’s surprised than anything else, but it still counts. “No, I’m good, thanks.”
She nods and heads off to get him his coffee. When she returns to his table with it, she doesn’t bother asking if he’s ready to order yet, because he’s still got his head bent over the enormous menu, reading it intently. She pops back over to her spot behind the register and resumes the sketch she’d been working on of the couple at the back table. She’s sure now that they are both, in fact, asleep, which is going to make it very awkward to get them to pay their bill.
A few minutes later, she hears the man at the other table clears his throat and she looks up, trying to mask her annoyance. When she does, though, she sees he’s not looking in her direction and probably didn’t do it to get her attention. Still, she should probably go check on him.
“Are you ready to order?” She asks, pulling out her order pad as she sidles up to his table.
“I—well, actually, I have to ask: why did you think I would want crayons?”
Jyn shrugs. “Technically, I’m only supposed to offer them to customers under twelve, but I think that’s bullshit. Kids aren't the only people who like to color.”
The man nods, processing this. “Okay. Not the answer I was expecting. I thought it was your way of saying I looked young.”
“No, no,” she says, and then winces. “I mean, you don’t look old or anything. You just definitely don’t look under twelve.”
“Then my disguise is working perfectly,” he says, half to himself.
Jyn snorts. “Is this your way of saying you do want crayons?”
“No, I’m all set. I think I’ll just have some eggs.”
Jyn gets the specifics of his order from him and goes to deliver the ticket to the kitchen. When that’s done, she decides it’s past time to finally collect her payment from the sleeping couple in the back. Under the guise of cleaning plates out of their way, she makes as much noise with the silverware as humanly possible, which causes the man to wake up. When she pointedly asks if there’s anything else they need, he grumbles a response in the negative and jostles his girlfriend’s wrist to wake her up too.
“You can pay right up front,” Jyn says, cheerily, before she swans away with their dishes.
After a few minutes, they come up to the cash register to pay her, even though it’s technically the manager’s job to run the register. He can’t be bothered when it’s this quiet. They don’t give her a tip then and there, but she holds out hope that they left her some cash on the table, which she checks as soon as they’ve gone. Of course, there’s nothing there and she curses under her breath before she buses the remaining dishes. She goes back again with a rag to wipe down the table, even though that’s yet another thing the manager is supposed to be helping with during overnight shifts. By the time she’s done with all that, the other man’s food is up and she goes to deliver it.
“Do you need anything else?” she asks, once she’s dropped off his food. “More coffee?”
“Yes, but could I switch to decaf?” he asks, looking like he’s asking for a kidney rather than something completely reasonable.
“No,” she says, automatically.
“Oh, I—what?”
“Sorry, that was—I was kidding.”
“Oh.”
“It wasn’t funny,” she says, feeling her face heat with embarrassment. “I’m sorry.”
“No,” the man says, waving a hand. “It’s fine.”
“It’s just—it’s a restaurant. You can have whatever you want.”
“Right,” the man says, smiling faintly in either amusement or confusion, like he’s not really sure what to do with her. And who could blame him for that?
“You were being polite. I shouldn’t have made fun of you,” Jyn says, fully mortified at this point. He’s definitely not going to leave her a tip now, which means this whole shift has pretty much been a bust.
“It’s really fine,” he says. “I probably would have caught on faster if it wasn’t…”
“3 AM?” Jyn suggests.
“Yeah,” he says, with a full, self-deprecating smile that catches Jyn completely off-guard. People shouldn’t be allowed to be that attractive without warning.
“I’ll get you that decaf coffee,” she says, trying to sneak off and preserve at least some of her dignity. He thanks her as she’s retreating, and when she refills his mug, she says as little as possible so she doesn’t end up accidentally insulting him again.
It makes things a little weird, realizing he’s cute at the same time as he becomes her only customer in the entire diner. She’s supposed to be checking in to see if he needs anything but it also feels suspiciously like fawning over him. Has it really been this long since she’s had a hot customer at this godforsaken place? She tries to distract herself with drawing, but her latest subjects just left. She’s also not supposed to be doing that where customers can see and the man is seated right across from the counter, putting her directly in his sight line. It’s unfortunate, really, in more ways than one, because he’d be fun to draw, with his messy hair and his stubble and the lines around his eyes, but doing so would involve watching him even more intently and that’s a level of weird she just isn’t willing to stoop to.
While she’s absolutely not staring at him at all, she does just so happen to notice the moment he takes off his jacket. His table is directly in the path of the draft from the front door, so it didn't seem weird for him to keep it on, because that section of the diner is always freezing. Now, though, with the jacket off, she can see he’s wearing some sort of uniform—crisply pressed navy blue pants with a matching shirt that has a patch over the pocket that she can’t read from this far away. He’s got an ID badge too, which she also can’t read, clipped to his pocket.
To her surprise, he’s not distracting himself from his lonesome meal by messing around on his phone, like most customers and honestly even she would be doing while eating alone in a restaurant. He is occasionally throwing a glance in the direction of the TV hanging in the corner, which is set to a channel playing reruns of “Murder, She Wrote” for no other reason than there’s nothing more interesting on at this hour.
Jyn hates the feeling of having too little to do and she especially hates having just one customer and feeling like she’s creepily watching their every move, so after what feels like an appropriate amount of time, she makes her way over to the man’s table, doing her best to seem casual.
“How is everything?” she asks when she gets there, even though she could have just as easily asked that from the counter. It wouldn’t have been professional, she decides, even if there is literally no one else around. She, of course, manages to catch him right in the middle of a sip of coffee, which is a special kind of superpower one only develops as a server.
He swallows and offers her an apologetic smile. “Everything’s great, thank you.”
“More coffee?” she asks, when she notices his mug is close to empty.
“Uh, sure. Thanks.”
“Decaf still?”
He laughs at that, for some reason. “Yes. I promise I won’t switch back and forth the whole night.”
Jyn shrugs. “Doesn’t matter, really. It gives me something to do.”
“Still,” he says. “Decaf would be great.”
“You got it.” She heads off to retrieve the pot of decaf and swings back to refill his cup. After he thanks her again, she asks, “Coming or going?”
He blinks at her in confusion for a moment. “I’m sorry?” he asks.
“No, I’m—” Jyn stops short, feeling ridiculous. “I just meant—are you coming from work, or going there?”
“Oh,” he says. “How did you—?”
“The uniform,” she replies, gesturing gingerly to his clothes with the coffee pot.
“Right. Of course,” the man says, looking down as if he hadn’t realized she could see him at all. “Uh, coming from.”
“What?”
“To answer your question,” he says, looking pained. Not that Jyn can blame him; this has been a trainwreck of a conversation so far, thanks mostly to her. “I just got off work.”
“So this is dinner, then?” Jyn asks.
The man laughs and it’s a strange, reluctant sound. “I guess so.”
“That explains the decaf.”
“Sure.”
“Not the one cup of regular coffee, though.”
That gets another laugh out of him, though he appears less surprised by it this time. “Does everyone who comes here have to justify their caffeine habits?” he asks, not sounding offended.
“Only the people unfortunate enough to sit in my section,” Jyn replies. It’s not worth pointing out that the entire restaurant is her section at this hour.
“I see,” he says. “Well, the cup of regular coffee is to give me enough energy to get back to my apartment without falling asleep at crosswalks, if you must know.”
“Ah, makes sense.”
“I’m glad you approve. You had me worried for a second there,” he says, and it lands somewhere between outright sarcasm and flirting, which is enough to make Jyn want to pull back.
“Yes, well, now that we’ve got that figured out, I suppose you deserve the chance to finish your meal in peace,” she replies, formally, and fights the urge to wince at how stupid she sounds.
“Okay,” the man says, sounding amused again as Jyn turns around and retreats back to the safe haven of the cash register to hide from the awkwardness she’s created.
Luckily for her, after only a few minutes, she gets another table to distract her. It’s four people who appear to be college students and they thankfully don’t seem to be wasted, which is a surprise, even for a Tuesday morning. It’s a nice change of pace for the typical night shift. If Jyn had to guess, they probably just came from studying late at the library. Then again, she never did the whole college thing, so she could be wrong. All of her knowledge of what it’s like comes from TV shows. The college kids are nice enough, if a little boisterous for this time of night, when she takes their orders, which is what matters. Once she gets everything in to the kitchen, Jyn decides it’s probably safe to check on the man who’s there alone again.
When she approaches his table, she sees that he’s done eating and that he’s gotten distracted by his phone. He’s reading some message with his eyebrows drawn together in concern, but he looks up as soon as he hears her coming and his face clears in a deliberate way that suggests he knows he was pulling a face and that he doesn’t want to be asked about it. Not that she would, honestly, even without the signal. It’s one thing to be weird about his coffee ordering habits—she’s his waitress and she’s bored; sometimes people like to banter with their servers—but she doesn’t know him at all. She’s not going to ask who’s texting him. That’s none of her business, even if her curiosity seems to be piqued by everything he does.
“Can I get you anything else?” she asks, as pleasantly and professionally as possible, even as her mind fills in a fake backstory of an emotional affair with a co-worker that’s turned sour and now results in petty 3 AM text messages that make him scowl at his phone.
“Just the check would be great.”
“Of course,” she says, and goes off to fetch it. She returns and drops it off at the table with a breezy, “You can pay at the counter whenever you’re ready.”
“Thanks,” he replies, without looking up, and Jyn retreats again behind the counter, to wait for him or for her college students’ order to be up, whichever comes first.
The man takes a few minutes to finish his coffee and get his jacket back on, but he doesn’t hold up the table, which is nice. Even when the restaurant is empty like this, Jyn hates when people linger. It shouldn’t bother her, really—they’re paying customers, after all—but it still drives her nuts. She pushes off the back wall when she sees him approaching the counter and he has the audacity to look kind of shy when their eyes meet. Has this guy never met a waitress before? Is he a shut-in or something? And most importantly, why does she care? Hot people shouldn’t be allowed in the diner, she decides. It’s confusing, especially in the middle of the night.
He hands her the check along with the cash to pay it without a word, and she sets about getting him his change out of the diner’s ancient cash register. She hands over the bills and a few coins and thanks him for coming in.
“You have a good night,” she adds, sounding folksier than she means to. “Or morning. Whatever it is.”
He smiles at that. “Thanks, you too.”
“I will, thanks.”
He’s already turning to go when he adds, casually over his shoulder. “See you around, Jyn.”
By the time she’s remembered that she introduced herself when he first came in and recovered from her surprise at hearing her name come out of his mouth, he’s already gone. Apropos of nothing, there’s some buzzy feeling in the pit of her stomach that she kind of wishes would go away, but it’s also the most exciting thing that’s happened to her all night, tragically. The cook ringing the bell to tell her that she’s got orders up is the only thing that startles her out of her reverie.
She brings the food over to her table of college students, and then goes over to clean off the cute guy’s table. As she’s moving plates around, she notices he left a tip in the form of cash tucked under his water glass. It’s a little over twenty percent, which, given the night she’s had, basically makes this guy the love of her life. She’s pleased enough that she almost forgets to be disappointed he paid in cash, rather than with a card, making it impossible to learn his name. Almost.

(Mis)adventures of Little Wednesday-aka Wednesday’s mirror image niece
“Field Trip - Ottinger Farms”
On the bus.
Ruthie: I can’t believe we’re going on a field trip to Ottinger Farms and my parents didn’t even tell me!
Little Wednesday: mine either.
GomezJr: we didn’t even get permission slips to take home like everyone else
The trio chuckled. Koda and Tyler came and sat with them. When everyone was loading in the bus left the school and headed for the farm.
They arrived and the children filed off the bus. They were greeted by a talk wavy haired man wearing glasses.
Eugene: howdy folks. My name is Eugene Ottinger owner and head bee keeper of Ottinger Farms. Or as I like to call myself Chief Hummer
Ruthie: hi daddy
Dayton: wait. This is your dad?
Aiyon: bees are dangerous. We don’t need bees
Eugene: Actually- looking at the child’s name tag- Aiyon, every third mouthful of food is produced by honeybees. Without bees pollinating these plants, there would not be very many fruits or vegetables to eat.
Eugene showed the class around the shop before going to the area where the farm and bee hives were located. GomezJr saw a familiar face.
GomezJr: Auntie Weenie! What are you doing here?
Dayton: what is she doing here?
Little Wednesday ran up to her aunt hugging her. Wednesday rubbed her niece’s head.
Wednesday: Eugene called me to tell me he just harvested my favorite hive so I came to pick up some honey. Also, yes, GJ. I did know your class was coming today.
Little Wednesday: is Auntie Eenie here too?
Wednesday: you know she hates bees
Eugene: I can’t believe she still hates them. At least she likes honey now though - turning back to the class- now for those of you who want to come with me to see the hives follow me. Otherwise you can stay in the shop and watch the video that Ninny will put on for you that explains the whole process that I will be showing at the hives.
Several of the children stayed behind. Little Wednesday clinged to her aunt. Ruthie with Jack stayed behind with her. Dayton and Aiyon went out to the hives while Ninny put the video on.
A few moments later while the kids who stayed behind were still watching the video, Dayton and Aiyon ran into the shop screaming. Ruthie and Little Wednesday were helping Ruthie’s GrandSue unpack some new plush toys.
Little Wednesday: -laughing- this one is a radish! It looks like the light stick from one of the light sticks from one of the old K-pop groups Auntie Eenie likes
Sue: You can take that home for her if you like.
Dayton: Wednesday! Why aren’t you watching the video you are supposed to be watching?
Little Wednesday: why aren’t you at the hives? Did the little bees scare you?
Aiyon: we weren’t scared. But why aren’t you watching the videos?
Ruthie: Wednesday and I already know about the bees. I help my daddy all the time. Wednesday does too when she comes over
Dayton: I heard you’re getting a plushie, Wednesday. Do we all get plushies to bring home?
Janet: -appearing from the stockroom with a box of honey- you will all get a jar of honey to take home. You can buy a plush if your mother gave you with money to purchase something
Little Wednesday: hello, GranJan. What hive is that honey from?
Janet: let’s see … 15.
Little Wednesday: oh! My second favorite hive.
When the class came back and met up with those who stayed behind to watch the video the went into the cafe to have lunch. Little Wednesday gave her aunt the radish plush to take home making her promise not to show Auntie Eenie.
Lunch consisted of , honey glazed carrots and honey balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts, honey garlic chicken, fried green tomatoes & onions with honey Dijon sauce and cornbread with honey butter and honey cookies for dessert
As the children ate Eugene said his god bye to Wednesday. His wife emerged from the kitchen as Sippy and George served the kids. A regular customer came into the shop
Idgie: Miss Evelyn. Nice to see you. I hope you’re not expecting to have lunch with us today. We have been invaded by our daughter’s class on a field trip

a fuck my manager/coworkers rant:
store manager got a new girlfriend back in October and since then work has been his second priority (EVEN DURING THE HOLIDAYS). Which is understandable in some regards but him and his ex literally broke up over him wanting to prioritize work. So often he goes off on two hour lunch dates with his GF we can see (at the shitty brunch place across the parking lot) when he said he was just going to go run the deposit to the bank. And he doesn't fucking COMMUNICATE anymore. One of my coworkers was given 5 days to completely rearrange a section of the store that was due last month but no one knew bc he never TOLD anyone and now he wants it done before Inventory is due. This entire month our rewards program is doing a special double points when purchasing a certain brand. I didn't find out until TODAY (the 20th) when I saw it on the TV image slide thing. The assistant manager didn't know until the Eighth.
He ignored and denied phone calls from our shift lead when on Valentine's Day when a customer was screaming at her, SM claimed that his sister was in labor and he was with her (dude you can step out of the room for five minutes) but we ALL know he was at V-day dinner with his GF (it was 5pm.)
He's on salary and should be working 40 hours and is technically on the clock all the time but he ignores people's text messages and shows up to work 15-30 minutes late every day and tries to leave early. He randomly goes out of town and only tells people last minute. There's no way he's making his 40 hours and NO ONE can do anything about it. He's been reported to our district manager several times and when she comes over to talk to him about it they just spend an hour in the back room giggling together because she doesn't care and loves him! All that matters is the store is doing well numbers wise.
... well it's not Anymore. because he's been so out of WACK that no one wants to put in effort working anymore. Bye bye 4.15 UPT and 40 DPT goal. have fun with the average 2.5 UPT. We've been consistently missing our sales goal. Oh well. Sorry buddy.
My biggest irritant though is that we are a pet store and like I don't care if my coworkers wanna slack on sales, but when they slack on caring for our animals is where I lose my mind and I'm sick and tired of having to pick up everyone's slack in that regard bc the management doesn't care either, they won't check over how animal care got done and so I have to be the one to make sure our animals aren't literally standing in soiled bedding 24/7.
I hate it here. In May it will be two years and I'm making minimum wage still, because every time the MW goes up, I lose any raise I had received. I should be making more than the hire we got two months ago but I don't. It makes me want to tear my hair out. I want to strangle our DM because she is the only thing keeping me from getting promoted, she wants me to have a car but company policy says 3/4 managers need a car. Everyone else does!! I would literally be lowest position anyways, I'm just there to pick up management slack I'm not there for big issues.
hate it here.
@staff I HATE the new text editor!

Terrible AU of the day: Zeff and Bellemere get married. Nami, Nojiko, and Sanji are step siblings on the Baratie.
With extra details, because I spent 11 hours in the car today:
He's buying supplies for the Baratie at Coco Village, and gets tangerines from her and asks if she wants to get dinner. She thinks this is a business dinner and he's going to buy tangerines exclusively from her. Heck yeah money! Once she gets there, she realizes pretty quick that he meant it to be a date. She panics and talks about tangerines the whole time. He realizes she doesn't know it's a date, gets embarrassed, signs a contract to buy way too many tangerines on a regular basis.
She's embarrassed and keeps sending the girls to the dock to deliver the tangerines in her stead. Zeff is like, "These girls are too damn skinny," so he'll buy the tangerines, feed them lunch, and hand them a couple casseroles to take home. Zeff's approval rating with the girls are off the charts.
Bellemere comes down to give him a piece of her mind about how they don't need charity, and he's like, "It's not charity. My dumbass brat of a kid said he was too good to make casseroles, so I made him make 20, and now I have too many damn casseroles." She's like, "...IDK what to make of any of that. You have a kid?" And he's like, "Yeah. He's a shit. I love him...Want to get dinner?"
Even though all three kids are in weird pseudo-adoption situations, they still have big step-sibling energy. Mostly because Sanji is wary of siblings and has a meltdown any time Bellemere is nice to him. Eventually they get to a place where the kids are friends who live on the same houseboat, but no one's ready to use the "sister" word or the "brother" word. That would have to happen later at an emotionally climactic moment.
Nojiko and Sanji are both exceedingly well dressed. Everyone else rolls their eyes at them, but they're bonding and look amazing.
Nami teaches Sanji to steal things. They do a tag-team kind of thing where one of them distracts. No one can prove they've done anything, but everyone knows and is exasperated.
Zeff is the worst girl dad. But the girls and Bellemere are consistent with calling him on his shit, especially when Nojiko starts hanging out in the kitchen. Sanji starts teaching her to cook. Then Patty starts teaching her to cook. She's a really good, solid cook, and is less of an asshole about it than everyone else, so after a couple months Zeff gives up and throws chef whites at her.
Bellemere takes over the administration stuff and organizing the vendor purchases, because Zeff would rather be cooking and is shit at it. I mean, look at how much he's spending on tangerines!
Nami is great at charting courses that will get them the best business and avoid storms and minimize time for supply trips.
As the kids get older, they all keep banging the customers. One of them will do it, and the adults will yell at them, and that kid will calm down for a bit, but as soon as they do, another kid is at it. It just doesn't stop.
Nami stands up to Zeff for something he said to Sanji, and Sanji has a meltdown.
Okay, I think Bellemere has to die? Something with Arlong. Because then Nami leaves to get vengeance or whathaveyou. Zeff throws himself into his work, Sanji shuts down for a while and starts smoking Bellemere's cigarettes. Nojiko has to keep the restaurant running. She's pretty pissed at Nami.
When the Going Merry rolls up to the Baratie, Nami's like, "Aww shit. I'm not here," and hides on the boat until Zoro has his show down with Mihawk. When Luffy and the rest of the crew go in to eat, Luffy's like, "Hey, do you know Nami?" and Sanji stares at him and says, "Yeah, we're not gonna tell Nojiko she's here." Immediately goes to the Merry to be like, "Sooooooo..." in the most asshat brother kind of way.
She and Zeff end up having an all-out screaming match on deck. Luffy's standing off to the side like 😶 horrified and trying not to be noticed but unable to look away from this car crash. Sanji's 😶 too. And Usopp 😶. And the chefs 😶😶😶😶. And maybe Mihawk 😶.
When they finally calm down and come to the end of their fight, Zeff's like, "Alright, fine. But nobody tell Nojiko."

📼 Movie Lover
Summary: Eddie’s new to Family Video, and you’re unwittingly his most popular customer 📼
Warnings: None, just fluff :)
Word count: ~900 words
A/N: Just a little sweet fic! I hope you enjoy, and please show love and support ❤️✨
“Okay, so basically, it’s simple. I help all the girls out, and you and Robin help everyone else out, got it?”
“Why?”
“Because they’re into me.”
“What if a girl is into me more than she’s into you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Munson.”
“You know, girls do find me attractive, Steve.”
“I’m sure some do, but you see, women come here to meet me. We can’t be letting them down, now can we?”
“Sure, Steve.”
“You have to call me boss.”
“No, I don’t!”
“Yes, please don’t call him that, Eddie! It gives me a headache.”
Robin emerged from the back, interrupting Steve’s unorthodox training session. Eddie desperately needed a job, and he figured it would be fun to work with his friends, but he was quickly regretting his decision.
Nonetheless, Eddie needed the money, and it really wasn’t a bad job when Steve wasn’t practically running over him to get a girl’s attention. His favorite job was updating the employee movie recommendations each week. There was a whiteboard on the front desk with movie titles the staff decided to nominate as their personal favorite movie of the week. Robin always aimed to promote obscure movies that needed more love, Steve promoted the most popular movies, but Eddie always tried to vary his choices. One week he’d go for a cheesy comedy, the next a heartbreaking romance, or an action-filled epic. The board usually helped business, and most of the recommended videos were sold out by Wednesday.
“Hey, Eddie, did you know that the same person always rents your movie recommendations?” Robin said, staring at the computer.
“Who, Dustin?” Eddie joked.
“No, it’s Y/N L/N.”
“Who’s that?” Eddie asked.
“Actually, she’s right there, talking to Steve.”
Robin pointed to you, and as Eddie looked up, you two made eye contact. You smiled softly at him, blushing, and he smiled back, waving. Steve noticed and looked back at Eddie, then turned back and told you a few things. You and Steve talked for a minute, then you hugged Steve and left. Figures, Eddie thought. No one would want to pay attention to him.
A couple days later, you came back to return the video. Everyone else was on their lunch break, so Eddie was alone, lounging and watching a movie. When he heard you enter, he started and scrambled to his feet, smoothing his vest and smiling goofily.
“Um, hi,” he said, fixing his hair.
“Hi,” you said, blushing. “I, um, I need to return this video,” you said, handing the movie back to him.
“Ah, another one of my classic choices,” Eddie said half to himself.
“You’re Eddie?” you said with wide eyes.
“Guilty,” Eddie said awkwardly. “Why?”
“Because I love your movie recommendations, I rent every single one of them!” you said excitedly, grabbing his hand. Eddie looked down at your hand and blushed, so you took it away quickly.
“I’m sorry, I’m just so excited to meet you, I can’t believe we haven’t run into each other before,” you said a little quieter. “I’m Y/N.”
“No, it’s all good, it’s, um, it’s nice to meet you, Y/N.”
“You too, Eddie,” you smiled sweetly. “I’m glad we’re finally meeting.”
“Eh, I know I’m not as good as Steve, so,” he drifted off, smiling awkwardly.
“What? You’re talking about Steve Harrington?” you said, shocked.
“Yeah, I mean, isn’t he a ‘verified cutie’ among the girls?” Eddie said bitterly.
“Not in comparison to you,” you blurted, then stopped yourself. “I’m sorry, that was way too forward, I didn’t mean to say that out loud!”
“No, it’s alright, don’t worry about it,” Eddie smirked. “It’s good to hear that King Steve isn’t universally irresistible.”
“Far from it, but I’ve known him since I was a kid, so I can always see the awkward preteen in him. Maybe that’s got something to do with it,” you shrugged.
“I can’t imagine Steve being awkward, but hey, we all have those days. Or years,” Eddie chuckled. “But anyway, would you like to hear what I’m planning for my next movie recommendation?”
“Yes, please! I always look forward to your choices, I’ve loved all of them so far!”
“Okay, here it is,” he said, handing you a video.
“A Room with a View?”
“Yeah, it’s a nice historical film, inspired by a book,” Eddie said nervously. “A little romance, you know?”
“It sounds great,” you said, looking at the video. “Would you- would you maybe want to come over and watch it with me? I could use an expert’s commentary,” you blushed.
“Oh, um, sure, yeah, I’d really like that,” Eddie smiled. “When?”
“Is tonight too soon? When do you get off of work?”
“Tonight works, I’ll leave early, Steve can make it on his own.”
“Are you sure?”
“Believe me, he owes me,” Eddie chuckled, making you smile.
“Okay then, it’s a date,” you blushed. “Thanks, Eddie,” you said, holding out some money.
“It’s on me,” he said, holding his hands up. “Shall I pick up a pizza too?”
“Yeah, for sure,” you smiled. “Here, this is my address,” you said, grabbing a scrap piece of paper and scribbling down your address.
“Thanks, Y/N, I’ll see you around six,” Eddie smiled, pocketing the paper.
“See you then, Eddie,” you smiled brightly, turning to leave.
“See you, Y/N,” Eddie blushed. “And for the record,” he said, making you turn back to him. “I think you’re pretty cute too.”

— RYOMEN SUKUNA || LET ME MARK YOU THEN
↳ featuring : ryomen sukuna from jujutsu kaisen
↳ warnings : mention of sex, mention of hickeys and grammar issues
↳ form : imagine
↳ published : 22 january
↳ pronouns : she/her
↳ word count : 3.7k
↳ synopsis : (modern!AU) after your lectures, you decided to pay your tattoo artist boyfriend a little visit only to then be persuaded to let him draw a tattoo design on you even though you never actually wanted a real one to be marked with.
↳ barista’s notes : just a little gift to you all before today’s episode and the reset the ‘coffees in progress’ list (wip) when i get enough sleep and after my disgusting online classes, i hope you enjoy the free cup of coffee everyone ʕ•ᴥ•ʔノ♡ - also i feel like this is the longest imagine i have ever posted ʕ ㅇ ᴥ ㅇʔ
Having a morning full of tedious lectures was not someone’s ideal day and it was definitely not yours. Although, there was nothing you could do but pursue them through with as much enthusiasm and determination that you could possibly muster while being impatient about the hands on the clock taking forever to move a single inch.
However, at this moment in time, you were able to escape the suffocating lecture hall after many hours for today and was now walking down the busy streets of Tokyo with a white plastic takeaway bag in one hand while the other was occupied with your tote bag that was resting on your shoulder, which surprisingly kept hold of some of your textbooks as well as your laptop giving you some reassurance that the bag that your boyfriend gave you was going to last for quite some time.
Looking around the busy quarter of the capital, you began to notice a few high school students roaming about here and there with some hanging out with their friends - mostly likely going to a cafe or to the nearest karaoke lounge that they could find - while other were either rushing home as they entered the station or to their part-time jobs that they had managed to obtain for a few extra bucks to save up for their next step in life. Noticeably, there were also a few adults out and about with some working as street-food vendors selling delicious treats that you would be craving if you weren’t so full while others were dressed extremely professional with their laptops out on their cafe/restaurant table to what seemed like they were on their lunch break.
‘He should be on his lunch break right now, but if not, I’ll just put his food in the shop’s fridge’
Continue walking to your destination, you finally reached to a quieter area with the city leading you to then stand in front of a glass order with a ‘closed’ sign in front along with another extremely noticeable sign proudly stating ‘Malevolent Shine’ to which if you had said that to any tattoo fanatic within Japan, they would instantly know what you were talking about.
Opening the door, there was a sudden noise of a ring being heard leading you to immediately look up to see the silver bell that you told him to arrange since he always got annoyed about the number of potential clients popping up without his acknowledgement only to tell him that they didn’t book an appointment at all causing him to become more irritated - and as a matter of fact, you couldn’t blame him at all.
Looking around the tattoo shop that you had entered, there wasn’t a single person in sight leading you to come to the conclusion that you were right about his lunch break since his assistant would be at the front desk if they weren’t. Although there was no one to greet you, the dark atmosphere did. It gave an odd sense of comfort with its hints of red that could calm a customer down if they were worried about the tattoo they were committing to having on their body or if it was their first - especially when it came to him.
“Oya~ ain’t you a sexy customer? But I’m afraid we’re closed, but I don’t mind giving you a private session if you want, kitten” someone smoothly stated, leading your eyes to slowly shift to the person who was leaning against the desk with a confident smirk on his face. There he was, the mastermind behind the whole shop itself.
“Well, I’m not coming in for a tattoo but I am here to give a little gift, Sukuna,” you mischievously stated, as you lifted the white bag with the takeaway you had ordered for the man himself, leading him to look at you in surprised before tilting his head indicating you to come to the back with him.
Following his lead, you placed the bag on his table once you reached the backroom before placing your tote on the floor beside the table’s leg so it didn’t fall, letting any of your precious studious contents to be lost as well as avoiding any damage to your laptop.
“I’m surprised you’re using the bag, kitten,” Sukuna suddenly commented, as he sat on his chair while pulling out the white styrofoam box of Thai food that he always ordered along with a bento box that was wrapped in a black cloth.
“Well, how could I not? You did buy it for me,” you quietly mentioned as you took off your black longline coat before placing it behind your chair since there was nowhere else to put it.
“Did you make this?” Sukuna quickly questioned as he lifted the bento box causing you to nod at his question once you saw what he meant leading you to state, “I didn’t know if you were going to stay back tonight, so I prepared some food for you in case,” causing Sukuna to smirk since you were right about your assumption and it did catch him by surprise since he didn’t mention it to you today when he left your shared apartment.
“Thanks,” he quietly muttered before pulling his chair closer towards you so he could place a lingering kiss on your cheek to show his appreciation towards you. “How was class?” he then asked, as he began to unwrap the cloth of the box to your surprise since you bought his favourite item from the Thai restaurant but made no mention of it.
“Annoying, it was suffocating in there but the lecture was interesting so that’s a plus,” you answered, as you began to scan his messy desk that displayed the many drawings that he was working on. Some of the designs that Sukuna was drawing were almost complete, while others were in the same situation but for some odd reason, it was crossed out as if he was unsatisfied with the outcome that it was going to have which lead you to be perplexed since some of the drawings were incredibly detailed and beautiful. However, you didn’t have the eyes of an artist like your boyfriend did, instead, you had the eyes of someone that was able to analyse things exceedingly well hence why you decided to pursue a career as a criminal lawyer.
“How has the shop been while I was away?” you asked, as you carefully picked up one of the designs that the tattoo artist seemed to have scraped leading him to answer with an annoyed huff. “A pain, there’s been so many dumbass people coming in thinking they could just walk in and get a tattoo done immediately without even booking a meeting,” Sukuna answered before taking a bite of the soy-glazed fried chicken you made as he then continued with, “it was a good idea to get the bell since I could see if it was a customer I knew or not,”.
Looking at your boyfriend, you couldn’t help but smile at the man as he continuously munched the context in the box as if he hadn’t eaten in the past week when in reality he had been raiding the fridge back home only just this morning. Slowly, you turn your head back to the paper that you were holding as you continued to admire the work of art right in front of you.
To be honest, it was quite simple compared to all the other ones that were lying about on his work desk but that didn’t mean it wasn’t beautiful. The light sketch depicted a short section of a branch or stem decorated with different types of beautiful flowers and next to it was the same design with the only difference of it being coloured lightly in case the client wanted to have options.
“What happened here?” you asked before tilting the paper to the side, letting Sukuna have a glance at the design he decided to discard.
“Oh, the client cancelled since I wouldn’t have sex with her,” Sukuna casually stated leading you to nod before taking another look at the design with a small smile on your face. Sadly, it was such a waste since the design was beautiful and it was disappointing to not see Sukuna put this beautiful art into life.
Some people might wonder why you were so calm about the statement he had just given you, heck even his younger twin brother Itadori Yuji thought it was weird that it didn’t bother you as much as other girls would have been. The reason was that you were so used to him having female attention as well as male attention and it wasn’t a surprise when people would book an appointment with him just for a fling or hoping for something more than just that - and even though you were calm, there was also a hint of jealousy and fear within your heart that you couldn’t help.
It was like the first time you saw him in your second year of high school.
ꕥ
Stretching your arms, you had finally finished the last sheet of the budgets for the school clubs leading you to carefully clip the pile of sheets into the folder as you then stood up from your desk before quickly heading out of your homeroom, so you could give the documents to the student council president, who was a third-year within your school.
However, as you were walking past a few classrooms with some people greeting you with a smile, you came to a sudden halt when you saw a whole crowd of female and males students in front of you leading to a blockage of the halls and a blockage of the classroom you need to go through to hand the documents to your senior.
“Did you hear, I heard he was back?!”
“I can’t believe he’s back, I missed him so much!”
“I like Yuji’s kind and goofy personality, but how could you not love a bad boy like him?”
‘Bad boy?’
Carefully, you managed to find a gap between the sea of students and forcibly made yourself fit within the gap before badly struggling to make it through the arc of the classroom door leading you to nearly trip the second you got the chance to push through the gap to ender the class. Quickly looking around, you found your senior sitting next to someone who looked like your friend and basketball club member Itadori Yuji - well more like a mature replicant of the boy you were used to. However, unbothered by the sudden appearance of the new third-year, you speedily made your way to the council president and handed him the booklet that he needed today leading you to receive his gratitude.
Yet, before you could even take a single step away from your senior, you unexpectedly felt someone grab your wrist causing you to quickly turn around to find Itadori’s replica behind you leading to a few gasps coming from the students from the outside as well as in the homeroom.
“Is there an issue?” you firmly asked, as you looked down at his hand that had a tight grip on your wrist causing you to have a small glance at the two black bands that were tattooed around his wrist - even though it was prohibited to have any in your school, you weren’t the type to scold someone for having them since you weren’t sure on how the teacher’s thought it affected someone’s education.
“Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo?” the salmon-haired third-year curiously asked, as he began to admire your wrist by gently turning it for your veins to come into view before beginning to trace your skin with the tip of his thumb causing a light shiver to go down your spine due to the ticklish feeling as well as his deep voice which was the complete opposite to what you thought it was going to be.
‘So this is the infamous Sukuna everyone was talking about’
“Not really,” you answered as you looked at him causing his eyes to look back at you before you continued with “I don’t think it would suit me at all,”.
“I disagree,” Sukuna counteracted, as he went back to admire the blank canvas of your wrist that he wanted to draw on so badly. No not draw. Mark. “I think you’ll suit something, maybe something on your neck or collarbone at best actually,” Sukuna mentioned leading you to give him a confused expression before he then proceeded with his speech by saying, “I’ll convince you one day and mark you brat”,
‘What...did….he….just….call….me..?’
“Ah...good luck with that idiot,” you stated in an annoyed tone leading to a few of the admiring student to gasp at your wording as well as sudden confident as they were scared on what was going to happen to you now since Sukuna wasn’t the type to tolerate insults in a nice way no matter what gender you were. However, exceeding the audience’s assumptions, Sukuna began to smirk excitedly at your attitude as he suddenly found you more interesting than any other girl he has met at the back of the school.
“Be prepared, little kitten”
ꕥ
‘That nickname….’
Back then Sukuna was known to be a playboy from what you could recall, every week there was news on the new girl he had managed to convince to meet at the back alley of the school while you were just being a model student with the dream of going to law school. However, during the middle of the school year, you began to realise that the common scandalous news that seemed to be popular enough for it to be on the front cover of the newspaper began to gradually fade as Sukuna slowly pushed himself into your life since you were close with his twin brother due to your friend being part of the basketball team as the assistant coach - she even mentioned that ever since Sukuna came into your life he had stopped his acts and change slightly because of you to which, of course, you denied at the time.
It was during the first term of your third-year that you agreed to give Sukuna a chance since he was constantly annoying you by popping up at the school gate after school to ‘walk you home’ ever since his graduation - when in reality it was to take you out somewhere - without fail even when you had to stay in a few hours. However, you had given him three conditions since you were still conscious of the consequences of dating someone with such a disgraceful built reputation - much to his dismay, he shockingly agreed.
If you are going to have a fling with someone behind my back, don’t think about seeing or talking to me again.
I know you are sexually active, but you have to wait until I’m ready.
Don’t tattoo me.
Let’s just say that Sukuna had managed to keep condition number one in check and you didn’t have to worry about it at all, while with condition number two he didn’t have to wait that long for you to give in to your desires which you could tell he certainly enjoyed when you finally gave him the ‘okay’.
Number three though...
“Do you want to try that design out?”
Breaking from your daze, you quickly turned your head to find your boyfriend staring at you - with the bento box practically empty at this point - while tilting his head to the paper that was still within your grasp.
“I think you giving me hickeys are enough in my opinion, babe” you jokingly mentioned leading to both you and Sukuna laughing at each other slightly.
“I mean, do you want me to draw it on you to see how it looks?” he then asked, causing you to look at the floral design one last time before giving him a hesitant nod.
‘Trying it out won’t hurt right?’
“I need a confident answer little kitten, where did that feisty attitude of yours back in high school go?” Sukuna teased, causing you to give him the side glance before giving him the verbal permission that he wanted, leading him to smirk at you since knew his mockery would get you to give him what he wanted since you were also the stubborn type - a side that he always loved to play with.
Grabbing his pen and a black pot full of his thin-tipped coloured skin markers, he wheels his chair even closer to your before pausing, leading you to look at him in confusion since you had already pulled your wrist in front of him, the same area he had grabbed back in high school.
“You’re wearing a lot of clothing today,” Sukuna muttered as he began to fiddle with the collar of your white silk dress shirt causing you to look at him with extreme confusion before mentioning, “well it is getting colder since the Autumn season is coming around,” leading him to hum in an understanding tone as he continued to play with the smooth fabric.
“I want to draw on your collarbone area, I don’t want to draw on the area where the client wanted it to be,” Sukuna stated as he lightly pushed away your wrist leading you to realise why he paused. “You can,” you quickly mentioned leading the tattoo artist to look at you to see if you were lying, only to see nothing but the light of the trust within your eyes.
Slowly, Sukuna began to reach over to the top button to then unhook it from its loop before continuously doing the same with the others until enough skin of your shoulders were exposed with the top half of your shirt resting on the side of your arms to which then he slowly moved away the right-hand side of your bra strap to fully expose the canvas that he wanted to mark so eagerly.
Admiring the skin that was in front of him, Sukuna began to trace the area with his thumb before leaning in to place a chaste kiss on the same side of your neck before cradling your face on the other side with his other hand - as if it was a way for him to say ‘thank you’ for letting him do this.
Regrettably pulling away, Sukuna quickly grabbed his black pen as he then leaned in towards your collarbone to start drawing the outline of his design on his now favourite canvas causing you to shiver somehow due to how ticklish and weird the sensation felt when the ballpoint pen continuously gently gilded upon your skin. However, what got you shaking the most was the constant feeling of your boyfriend’s breath being felt on your upper body now that your shirt was basically off - it wasn’t completely off to the same feeling when you were underneath him the first time you allowed him to make his claim on you.
“Baby, it feels ticklish,” you commented, the second you felt a different sensation upon your skin leading Sukuna to glance up to check if you were alright like you were an actual client before placing another kiss on your jawline in a way to comfort you since he had switched to his skin markers to colour in the design he had drawn on you.
“You’re being a good kitten though, you’re not moving a lot then I thought you would,” the tattoo artist whispered leading you to quiver as his deep voice was not helping so much with your beating heart - erratic to the point where you thought he could hear or even feel.
Due to Sukuna concentrating, you couldn’t help but keep silent to help him continue with his work causing you to glance around your room with your eyes before landing upon a wall where there was a multitude of messages written leading you to carefully scan the writings that were visibly presenting themselves.
As expected, there were messages of encouragement - not that the arrogant Sukuna needed it to be honest, but it was nice of the client to do so - and a few drawings from other tattoo artists that Sukuna had famously done. However, not to your surprise, there were a few numbers here and there causing you to sigh since you couldn’t help it - you couldn’t blame your boyfriend for being an extremely handsome man.
Unexpectedly, you felt another kiss being placed upon your cheek causing you to look towards your boyfriend with a smile on your face - it was as if he knew what you were looking at. “I’m finished by the way,” Sukuna announced, causing you to look at him with widened eyes since the drawing session was a little faster than you had anticipated.
Reaching over to a drawer in his desk, Sukuna suddenly pulled out a mirror before passing it to you, leading you to lift up the little instrument to see the result that was drawn on your skin.
“You changed the design,” you quietly stated, as you began to tenderly trace the design with your index finger as you began to admire the piece of art that was masterfully drawn on your collar bone. The tattoo beautifully depicted a single strand of a blooming lavender across your collarbone with each petal in different shades of purple while the buds that weren’t in bloom were in a slight pale pink shade making you smile more since Sukuna drew this straight from his head causing you to have a hint of proudness for him.
“I wasn’t going to give you that previous design, it doesn’t suit you one bit,” the salmon-haired artist mentioned as he continued with, “I’m not going to let that disgusting design touch your skin, especially since this is the first time you let me mark you somewhat,” as he then moved behind you before placing his chin on your shoulder to look at you through the mirror you were holding.
“I might let you mark me permanently then,” you suddenly announced causing your boyfriend to look at you with a surprised look on his face leading you to giggle at his reaction.
“Yeah, let’s break condition three then, you can mark me this one time,” you informed him as you turned to look at him, causing Sukuna to give you his classic smirk before possessively grabbing your chin leading him to lean closer to you.
“Let me mark you then”

The Yearbook — Peter Parker
male! reader — 2.7k words — slight angst — ambiguous peter (can be tom, andrew, or tobey) — reader's mom is dead — fluff — mention of sex but nothing happens it's only brought up srry — implied cis reader
Peter and I were the only two students in charge of this year's yearbook since the other students in the photography club had all graduated last year, leaving us as the only two people in the club. Since we were seniors and no underclassmen were taking interest in it, it fell upon us to make the yearbook really cool so it would hopefully reel in more club members before the club gets removed when we both graduate. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it really irritated me how he didn't show up to meet half of the time. Like right now, for example. I was being stood up once again, left completely alone save for the presence of the underpaid staff caring for other patrons checking in on me every ten-or-so minutes. Was he weirded out that I wanted to work on it over dinner? He could've just said something.
I sighed and picked up a menu, scanning the items. The menu itself wasn't very large, it was a single laminated page with a front and back to it. 'Breakfast served all day!' in a bold and particularly ugly font at the top of each side. The side I was looking at was their lunch menu, the other of course containing the multitude of breakfast choices. I didn't really want anything, but I needed to eat so I wouldn't have to make myself dinner by the time I got home, which would probably be some time at midnight with the way things were going. This diner wasn't very special or anything, it was small and had a few regular customers, but what I liked about it was that it was only ever packed during 'brunch hour' as everyone calls it. The workers were nice, the food was surprisingly good for a shabby downtown diner, and it was almost always near empty at this time of night— because no one eats breakfast or dinner at 8 P.M on a Tuesday.
"Hey man, you ready to order?" A guy not much older than me asked, grabbing a small notepad from one of his apron's pockets. I set the menu down on the menu stand at the side of the table that touched the wall and sighed.
"I'll just get some mozzarella sticks for now and I'll let you know if I end up wanting anything else." I spoke gently, not wanting to be a bother to the poor guy. He was very clearly on his wit's end and I made a mental note to give him a big tip when I go to leave. He wrote my order down and put on a smile.
"Anything else I can get you?" My eyes went to the water I was nursing, condensation building in pellets on the sides of the glass from not being touched in a while. I absolutely hated tap water.
"A glass of coke would be nice, yeah." We both sound exhausted in the same way. Tired of everything and just wanting to be finished with the day. I could see the look of recognition in his eyes as I sighed out my answer, a pitiful display of solace and relief that I wasn't going to be a difficult teenage asshole. As he left, I pulled my laptop closer to me and decided to call Peter instead of texting him. I hated calling people, so I usually don't do it, but I needed to make sure if I should design this yearbook by myself or not. We only had a week left and we weren't even close to being halfway done, which was mainly because I had been waiting for him to be with me to get any work done.
I pressed his contact from our messages and hit the call button, fully expecting to be sent to voicemail and being pleasantly surprised when he answered on the first ring. "Hello?" He sounded out of breath.
"I'm at the diner and you're not here, so I was wondering if you just want me to design this yearbook without you." I spoke almost bitterly. I was so sick of his shit at this point that the fact he answered was almost worse than it would be if he hadn't. The other end of the line was noisy, as if a car was on a racetrack right next to him, and then a few loud pops. "Where are you?"
"I really can't answer that right now," It sounded like he was running a marathon, only adding to my anger and confusion. "Just," A slight pause and more pops. "how about we skip school tomorrow and get it done? That sound good?" I sighed.
"If you manage to fuck me over tomorrow like you've done the past four times I'm doing it without you." I spoke and hung up before he could answer. The waiter came up to me with my coke and set it down carefully next to my laptop, which I closed and moved out of the way for safe measure.
"Anything else I can do for you?" He handed me a straw, and I shook my head as I opened it. I thought back to the phone call as I mindlessly put the straw in the cup and began to sip from it. What the hell was he doing, and more importantly, what were people going to think of us skipping school together? Would they even make the connection? I sighed and tried to focus on something else, but all of my thoughts found their way to Peter again. It was getting a bit difficult to ignore my crush on him. No matter how angry he made me or how abandoned he made me feel, something in me wanted nothing more than to love and trust him. It was ridiculous, but unfortunately you can't control who you fall for.
I scrolled through my phone for a bit and soon enough the mozzarella sticks I had ordered came, but my brows furrowed upon realizing there was was more than just the usual 7 sticks. "We needed to get rid of the rest of the ingredients, so I just made it so that you ordered the batch that was getting trashed after tonight anyways." The waiter spoke, and I'm assuming my face gave away my next question since he answered it. "On the house." He said with a tired smile.
"Thank you so much, that's really nice of you." He accepted my gratitude and left me to eat my food, which was still a little too hot to bite into. I stuck my pinkie into the sauce it came with, trying to see if the sauce was warmed or not, which thankfully it was. I checked the time on my phone. It was 9 P.M now. I needed to start heading home if I was gonna be up in time to play hooky with Pete tomorrow. I flagged down my waiter. "Hey, something just came up, can I get a to-go box?" He nodded and headed to the back and I pulled out my wallet. The total was probably gonna be about ten dollars, so I took out a twenty, a five, and then dad's credit card. The cash will be the tip, and using the card helps me prove that I was, in fact, at a diner in Manhattan.
I got home about an hour after the first subway ride. It was admittedly a long way back home without a cab, but I didn't want to shell out my weekly allowance on an overpriced ride that has a 70% chance of smelling like a rotting corpse. "What's that?" Dad pointed to the to-go box I had been carrying as I walked into the kitchen.
"Mozzarella sticks that you paid for, want some?" I opened the box and took out the sauce, putting the sticks in the microwave and letting it run for about 30 seconds. Dad seemed unimpressed.
"You look really bummed out, did that Parker boy stand you up?" My cheeks burned at this. "Do I need to call his father?" I sighed at his question.
"His mom and dad died a long time ago. And his uncle ben died a few months ago. I can't be mad at him while he's probably not okay." It all just poured from my mouth. I never was very good at keeping secrets from dad. "I'm trying to be as patient as I can for him, and I feel terrible every time I get angry at him for ditching me, but we need to get this yearbook done and he's not letting me work on it without him. Now I have to skip school with him tomorrow just so we can get this done on time when it was his fault to begin with." I took a mozzarella stick and tore it apart, stretching it for the inside to cool off before I bit into it, and dad followed suit after opening the sauce.
"Well, you like him, don't you?" He asked and I nodded earnestly. I really did. "I think you need to let him know that. If he feels like he has no one, and if he feels like you don't like him, of course he's not going to be very faithful with your plans. Especially since it's for school and not on your own volition. If you don't want to go at it from a romantic angle, at least let him know he has a friend." We stood in silence at the counter for a while, just eating while I thought about what dad said. Who knew a widowed attorney could have such good relationship advice.
"You're not mad?" I dipped a ripped piece into the sauce and popped it into my mouth, going to the fridge to pull out drinks for the both of us and coming back to where I was standing.
“That you're skipping school? A little upset.” He opened the bottle I was struggling with and handed it back to me, opening his own right after. “But I couldn't be happier that you like someone. It feels really good to be in love. I'm glad you get to feel that.” I sighed and took a sip of my drink.
“Doesn't feel good to get your heart broken.” He pat my shoulder.
“Losing someone you love hurts so bad because loving that person is the greatest feeling in the world.” I knew that dad knew this more than anyone else, especially after losing mom. “Anybody would be lucky to be loved by you, and I think that Peter could really need you to love him right now.” He wiped his mouth and began to leave. “I'm going to bed, I've got a case early tomorrow. Don't make a mess of the house and if you have sex, wear a condom–” I interrupted him.
“Ugh, dad!” I tried covering my ears but he yelled over my hand's ability to shield me from his voice.
“Or make him wear one, you know, free country! Love you!” I knew he was just joking around, but I'm also seventeen and so is Pete. Teenagers tend to do crazy stuff so I guess I can't fault him for thinking I'd be an idiot, but again Peter and I are both nerds and on the photography club so it's his fault for thinking either of us could score, even with each other.
I ate a few more mozzarella sticks and then put the rest in the fridge with the sauce, heading to my room and undressing for bed. I thought back to what dad said. He really did need a friend, and I could at least be that for him if not a boyfriend. I pulled my phone out and began to text him.
Me: i wanted to say sorry for being so angry at you recently. it's been frustrating for me being stood up every time i wanted to get this yearbook stuff done and we're almost at the deadline and it's making me really anxious, but i shouldn't have taken it out on you. i shut down when my mom died. i shouldn't have expected you to act any different and i'm sorry for putting that on you. i care a lot about you peter and i'm sorry for the way i've treated you recently because you don't deserve that at all.
Anxiety formed in the pit of my stomach the moment I pressed send, but thankfully I got a quick response.
Peter: Can I come over?
My brows furrowed. It was almost ten at night.
Me: like right now??? its 10 dude why would you come over rn
Peter: Because I'm already here and I have to tell you something really really really REALLY important
Me: YOU'RE ALREADY HERE????
Peter: Window :)
I opened my curtains and almost screamed when I saw Spider-man looking back at me, but then I just got upset. I opened my window for him. “You're fucking Spider-man?” My yell was hushed and at a whisper. He took his mask off and sure enough, it was Peter. My heart sank to the floor. I couldn't lose someone else, this wouldn't work. This wasn't fair. I sat down on my bed, very clearly dejected about the situation.
“What's wrong? Is this a bad thing?” He kneeled down in front of me to get me to look at him, treating me as if I wasn't in nothing but my boxers. “This actually wasn't even the important thing I needed to tell you.” He mumbled.
“Then what is it?” I fiddled with my fingers and he grabbed my hands, holding them in his own. Like it was natural to him, like he wanted to feel me just as much as I wanted to feel him. He said nothing, and only lifted himself off the ground slowly, leaning a knee beside me on my bed as his face moved closer to mine. I leaned back and one of his hands went to my neck to support me on the way down. He followed suit, not closing or furthering the distance between us and as I laid myself fully on the mattress, we stared at each other for a moment. “You've put me in a very compromising position, Parker.” I whispered. He backed up, but only slightly. As if he was afraid that if he moved he'd lose this chance forever.
“Do you not want me to do this?” He sounded deflated, clearly sad and bracing for my rejection. But unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to lie to him.
“I do,” He sank closer into me as soon as I said that, we were so close to kissing that I wanted to pull him into me, but I kept a grip on my morals. “that's the problem. I don't want to lose you. Now that I know that's a possibility,” I trailed off, resting one of my hands on the back of his neck and playing with the seam of his suit. “I'm scared, Pete.”
"I'm not going anywhere.” His voice was quiet and sweet, and within seconds he was finally kissing me. I wanted to stay like this forever, I wanted to hold him forever and feel him on my lips like this. My hands went to his cheeks and he pushed his body onto mine. I could feel the texture of his suit against my skin, and silently prayed to whatever would listen. I begged them to keep him safe because I knew there was no way I'd be able to turn away my feelings now. We separated and he leaned his forehead against mine, sighing contently. “I need to go before I fall asleep here.” He sounded reluctant, and clearly hesitated as he got up and backed away from me.
He put his mask on and was about to head out of the window, but I grabbed his wrist before he could. “Does this mean we're dating now? We're boyfriends now, right?” He laughed and lifted his mask above his lips, kissing me one last time.
“Yes, we're boyfriends.” After saying that he ran out of my window and swung off, leaving me to swoon over the fact I kissed my crush of five years.

Thanks T
Summary: A dad is supposed to be your rock. Someone you can go to when times are hard. Someone whos supposed to protect you. WHat happens when your dad doesn’t fit the bill, and Tony does?
A/n: Hello yall! So this story hit really close to home for me lmao. It was mentioned that there aren’t any good dad/step dad Tony fics so I hope you like it. Everyone thank @alphaandromedae97 and an anon for this fic.
Hope yall enjoy!
Your life was complicated.
How can it not be when Tony “billionaire playboy” Stark is your step dad.
Yes you read that right, step dad. It’s funny really, turns out he has a thing for waitresses that aren’t interested in him at first. That waitress being your mom.
They met when she was working a shift at the restaurant she works at, and he came in with Avengers. He expected her to fall at their feet like everyone else did, but she just scoffed and asked for their order. Pretty epic.
Then one long montage later, and they ended up getting married. You were happy for your mom, of course. Deep down, Tony is a good man and you knew he’d do anything for your mom. And he’s always been nice to you, making sure you were okay with him proposing and then you moving upstate with him and your mom. He always made sure you felt included, maybe a little too much. He actually took interest in your life, which you’ll always appreciate.
But you were a total daddy's girl by heart. You always felt like you had a close relationship with your biological father. He was a good dad, he took you out to movies, went to recitals, and always made sure to take you to the father-daughter dance your school district put on every year. It was your tradition. But after your parents divorced a few years ago, it seemed like he was getting more and more distant from you. He stopped calling as much, would skip out on your days to visit him and when you did visit, he’d lock himself in his office, claiming he had to finish some paperwork. It broke your heart, knowing that a man you were so close with, seems to be detaching himself from your life. But, in his defence he always managed to take you to the father-daughter dance. He always did. No matter how long the both of you went without seeing each other, no matter how long you haven’t spoken, he always made sure to take you.
That act alone, reassured you that he did still love you. He was just busy. In fact, you were getting ready to go to the final father-daughter dance, as you were going to graduate this year and therefore you would be too old to attend the next year. This year was especially important to you. You wanted this night to be perfect.
And you were positive your father would pull through as he has the past years.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were filled with excitement as you tried on multiple different dresses. You always liked this part of getting ready, the dress shopping.
The confidence you feel when you finally found the right dress. The happy feeling you and your mother had, browsing through the dress shop downtown. Tony offered to buy you a custom designer dress, but you couldn’t accept. This was the shop you’ve been going to since you were a little girl, since you went to your very first dance with your dad. Call it nostalgia or tradition, but you couldn’t shop anywhere else.
“ Hey ma! I think I found the one.” You shout from the dressing room, finally finding your dress after hours of searching.
“Come out here and let’s see bug” She replies from where shes seated. You take a deep breath, soothing the wrinkles on the dress and walking outside. Your mother gasps as she see the gown. It was beautiful really. It was a glittery, lilac purple floor length dress with spaghetti straps. And it even had pockets! You were absolutely obsessed. Plus, you could probably use it as a prom dress if you really wanted to.
“Oh baby...you look so beautiful...” You mom says, tearing for the millionth time.
“Ma, are you crying again?!” You laugh, “ Come on, that's the fifth time you’ve cried since we’ve been in the store!”
She laughs with you, sniffling as she wipes her tears,” I’m sorry, but you’re getting so big, it feels like it was only yesterday we were walking in this shop to get your first dress...and now...” She starts to cry again.
You smile softly, understanding what your mom was saying. You were in kindergarten when you first started attending these meetings, now you’re a senior in highschool.
“Alright, no more crying. It’s a happy day for you. Has your father called texted you when he was going to come pick you up?” Your mom asked wiping her tears.
You frown, “ No, I haven;’t hear from him since two weeks ago when he said he wanted to get lunch.”
You can see your mom roll her eyes in the mirror, “ Mom he’s just busy. I’m sure he’ll call when he can.”
“Oh sure, I just hate that he doesn’t answer you fast enough.”
“I know ma, but he has work” You argue, “ He calls when he can, and that's okay.”
Your mom sighs, knowing that you were stubborn when it comes to your father.
“ Well, let’s get this wrapped, Tony wants to get lunch and we need to convince him to get something other than shawarma.”
You roll your eyes, “ God, what’s with that man and shawarma. It’s like his life line or something”
“I know!”
After the two of you buy the dress, you pick up Tony from the HQ. You loved the drive up there,mainly because of the scenery, but also cause you can see Cap running laps outside.
“Hell my love, hey kiddo” Tony greets switching seats with your mom.
‘Hey T” You greet, smiling at the man.
“Did you find the dress?” He asks, driving away from his place of work and to a restaurant.
“Yeah! It’s like the one I told you I wanted. I was surprised it was there to be honest.” You reply, “ Mom practically dehydrated herself shopping though.”
“Oh? How many times did she cry this time? Cause she was crying earlier when she was getting read-- OW! Hey I’m driving” He exclaims as your mom swats his arm.
You giggle at their antics, chest warming with the sight of your mom happy again.
“She cried five times while we were shopping. Five!”
“Five? I didn’t know the human body had that much water.”
The two of you chuckled as your mom made an offended noise.
“I hate that the two of you get on so well.” She pouts, “ And excuse me if I’m a little sad my baby is growing up so fast.”
You tune out the rest of their conversation as your phone buzzes.
Dad
Hey kid, I’m gonna have to meet you at the school tomorrow. I have a meeting that’s gonna run late.
You
Okay daddy, I’ll see you there <3
You frown, your dad always managed to pick you up from the house. He used to take you to eat before the dance. And he always used to take the day off, devoting his time to you.
“ Uh oh, someone's frowning back there.” Tony remarks, “ What’s wrong kiddo, did a character off that show you like die/”
“Uh no, ma do you think you can drop me off at the dance tomorrow? Dad said he has a late meeting and won’t be able to pick me up.”
Your mother makes eye contact with Tony. They both know how your father has been flaking on you and how it breaks your heart that he does. It makes Tony especially mad because it remind him of his childhood. How his father really didn’t pay attention to him unless he was criticizing his life choices.
“ Hey y/n, I can drop you off if you want.” Tony offers, “ I really don’t mind.”
You smile, “Thanks T.”
“No problem kid.”
And with that he pulls into the restaurant parking lot.
As your family is seated, you take a quick look around the restaurant, wanting to see the reactions of the patrons when they realize Tony Stark is in the building. But as you do, you see a man who looks very familiar. But before you can take a closer look your mom interrupts you.
“Y/n, you know it's rude to stare.”
“Oh sorry mom.”
So you take a seat and continue with your meal. You tune out your mother and Tony’s conversation as you can’t take your mind off of that man. You take a quick glance back while your parents discuss the dessert menu.
That’s when you realize that the man was your father!
You stand up from the table and make your way towards the man. Surprised to see him there because as far as you know, he’s supposed to be in a meeting right now.
“Daddy?” You ask cautiously. The man tenses up before turning to you.
“Y/n? Honey what are you doing here?” You notice he doesn’t make an attempt to get up and hug you.
And you also notice the second plate of food across from him and a napkin stained with what looked like lipstick.
“Um, T and Ma wanted to grab dinner.. I thought you were at a meeting?”
“This is a five star restaurant, and you just stopped in?” He asks ignoring your question, “ Of course Stark did..”
You wanted to roll your eyes. Everytime your mother was even close to being happy, your dad always found something wrong with the person she was with. But he seemed to have a strong disliking towards Tony for some reason.
“Um right...So you told me you were in a meeting? That’s why I couldn’t come over after dress shopping?”
“Right! A meeting...I’m currently in right now.” He says quickly looking towards the women's bathroom, “ You should go back to your table hon, my boss is really strict”
“Oh right, sorry” You say dejected, “ I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” your dad says with a soft smile, “ I love you Bug.”
You smile at the nickname your parents gave you, “ I love you too pop.”
And with that you walk off, back to your mother and Tony. You can see they’re trying to hide the fact that they were watching by covering their face with the dessert menus.
“Oh here you are, we got you a tiramisu” Tony says nonchalantly, pushing the dessert towards you.
“Uh huh” You hummed teasingly, “ Dad says hi by the way.”
“ Oh does he now?” You mom said not convinced, “ That’s nice of him.”
You hummed, mouthful of cake signaling that you were done with the conversation. Your family finished up their meals and signaled for the check. As you were walking out the restaurant, you turned to say goodbye to your dad, only to see his “boss” was back from the restroom.
Only this boss was a 5′3, brunette bombshell in a tight red dress and having her neck kissed by the man you call your father.
Your stomach felt sick.
“Oh gross, I really didn’t need to see that.” You mutter catching the attention of Tony who was behind you.
“See what kid?” He asks following your gaze, “Oh. Yikes is that even allowed? I didn’t know your dad was a vampire.”
You snort, “ Oh god T, that's disgusting.”
He just laughs and pats your head, “ Come on, lets go before your mom yells at us.”
You smile, but you wondered why your dad didn’t tell you that he was on a date. Or that he was even seeing someone?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thoughts of your fathers secrets where wiped from your brain as you scrambled to get ready for the dance the next day.
Tony surprised you and your mom with a mani-pedi day at 10am and a hair appointment for you at 1pm. After you had to get shoes for your dress at the mall and then be home by 5pm to get your dress and makeup on, take pictures, and then be out the door by 7pm to take pictures with your dad, then finally be at the dance by 8pm when doors open.
The whole day you were messaging your dad about how excited you are, getting similar replays back. He pays for you shoes and complements your hair.
Your heart swells as you think about how hard it was in the beginning of the divorce. But your father always tried his best to spend time with you and made sure you knew he loved you.
It was hard on you at first, but you appreciate that he tried for you. The fact that he’s been taking you to this dance since you were a little girl is proof enough. You were a little sentimental, this was your last dance after all.
You smiled looking at yourself in the mirror. You looked beautiful in your dress. Your makeup was done to perfection and you had gotten a silk press in your hair. You felt like a princess. You heard your mom sniffle.
“Mom, again?” You laugh,turning to face her.
“I’m sorry! You just look so beautiful!” she says with a sad smile, “ God, you grew up so fast bug”
You roll your eyes, but feel the tears spring to your eyes as well, “ Ma! Stop I can’t ruin my make up”
You both laugh as you fan your eyes
“You ready?” She asks, “ Tony’s waiting for you in the living room.”
You nod, gathering your things and walking out the door. You let your mom walk down the stairs first. You can hear Tony and you assume Happy in the living room. You finally make it down the stairs. It turns out it was Tony, Happy, and Peter Parker. Your mom was chatting with them and they all had their back turned to you.
“Ahem.” You clear your throat, catching their attention.
You see Peter stiffen as he gazes at you and mutters a soft “Wow”
You blush, what can you say he’s a cutie.
Happy gives you a comforting smile.
And Tony?
He has a soft look on his face, “ Jeez kid, you clean up well.”
You laugh, “ Better than you old man, what's up with the pants?”
He had on Iron Man pj pants.
“Oh hush.” He laughs, “ You look beautiful kiddo.”
You look down with a grin.
“Oh pose for some pictures!” You mom says excitedly, “ Go Y/n, by your self first and then with me. Then with Tony.”
You sigh, knowing how long it was gonna take.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally after three million pictures, your mom and Tony drove you to the school.
“Okay bug, is your dad here?” Your mom asks looking around at the group.
“Yeah! He should be inside.” You say kissing your mom goodbye and waving to Tony. You show the ticket and waltz in the gym.
You smile and wave at classmates and parents. These people you’ve known since you were a child and who knew you. You finally got to the table you always sat at woth your dad.
It was empty.
You frown and look at your phone.
Me
On my way pop!
It said the message was read.
“He must be on driving” You think to yourself as you sat at the table.
But then twenty minutes passed. Then an hour. then two
You were still there, waiting for your dad to come. You sent five messages and they all remained unopened.
You looked around the gym, seeing a few parents looking at you with pity in their eyes. You can barely stand it.
You got up and went to the restroom, trying not to cry. and in the restroom you tried calling you father, but you were sent to voicemail. The you finally got a message.
Dad
“I’m so sorry bug, I can’t make it to the dance. I have a meeting today. :(”
You felt dejected. Humiliated.
Your father has rearranged visitation days, skipped out on little crimonied and rectitals you’ve had, but this by far was the most disappointing thing he has done.
He promised multiple times that he’d be here. Never has he ever skipped out on the dance before. ANd he knew how important this was to you. Thi was your last dance, and he ruined it.
You let yourself cry. You sobbed as you realized that your father has been distancing himself from you. That your relationship hasn’t been okay for a while. And you just didn’t want to let go.
You sigh as you realize you’ve been in the restroom for a while. You stand up and look at your face. Despite the red eyes and slightly red nose, your make up was pretty much intact.
“Huh at least my setting spray hasn’t let me down.” You say to your self. After a few mintues of calming down, you walk out of the restroom and bump into a figure.
“Sorry” you mutter about to pass the person.
“Gee you took a while in there, I told you not to get that coffee kid.”
You quickly look up and se Tony.
Dressed in a suit, flowers in hand.
“Hey kid.” He says softly
“what..what are you doing here?” You whisper, tears filling your eyes again.
“Well apparently you need an rent a dad, and I happened to be in the neighborhood.” He jokes, then says, “ I’m sorry your dad didn’t come kiddo, and I know I’m not him, and quite frankly I’m glad I’m not. But I do love you like you’re my own, and well...yeah here I am.”
You stay quiet, looking at Tony in wonder. Touched that he did this for you.
“Of course if you just want to leave then we can just get out of here” He rambles nervously, “ But you gotta tell me kid cause I’m kinda freaking out.”
“Can we get ice cream after?” You ask him
“What?”
“After the dance, we should go get ice cream.”
“Uh sure?” Tony says, “So what do you usually do at these things?”
You laugh and steer him to the tables where they have all the activities at. You actually have more fun with him than you had recently wit your dad. Tony is definitely more competitive than your father and treats every game as a challenge. Not like something he’s humoring just for his kid. He celebrates with you instead of telling you to calm down. He chats with the adults, is nice to the kids, and does the goofy dances with you. Seeing Iron Man do the chicken dance is something you didn’t know you needed till now. He managed to turn this horrible night to one of the best ones you’ve had in quite a while.
Finally the father daughter dance started to signal the end of the dance. Tony bowed dramatically and said in a horrible british accent, “ Lady Y/n?”
You laugh and make your way to the dance floor. You’re both quiet for a bit, snorting at how serious the other dads and their daughters look.
“Hey T?” You say softly, looking at the ground.
“Yeah kid?”
“Thank you. It’s nice to know that one of my dad's isn’t a total asshole.” You say. knowing that this is the first time you referred to Tony as your dad.
His eyes get misty as he clears his throat,
“Anytime, bug”
a/n: fiiiirst of all, thank you so much for beta’ing, @birbdae!! appreciate you lots! and second of all - this fic is a birthday gift for the beautiful, adorable, wonderful @aroseforyoongi!! you have such a big place in my heart, and i truly hope you enjoy the coming year to the fullest! all the best to you, honey - i love you so, so much! 💞 also, sorry for the bias-wrecking again, you did this to yourself... plus, i know you’re a sucker for soft dom!jk-smut, so here it gooooes!
“Anything else I can bring you?”
Your sweet voice shakes Jungkook awake. Until this moment, he’d been lost in fantasies about you - his mind reminds him that you are soft, warm; your skin smooth. In his head, you smell like vanilla and affection, a scent he has even dreamed of multiple times.
He can’t quite say why he’s relishing in what his thoughts throw at him when you’re right here in front of his eyes, towering over him with a teapot and a gorgeous smile plastered on your face. The way the apron hugs your waist drives him crazy, and he licks his lips suggestively as he eyes you from top to bottom.
Registering his gaze, you roll your eyes, shifting your weight onto your left leg as you ask, “I said: anything else I can bring you?”
Jungkook clicks his tongue and his fingers reach out to trace the skin of your arm, leaving goosebumps in its wake. “Come on, babe. Do you have to be so formal?”
“I’m at work, and that douchebag,” you say, your head nodding to the man near the counter, “observes me all the time.”
“So what? I’m your boyfriend. And you look delicious.”
You roll your eyes anew, but this time with a smile on your face, your red lips twitching as you remove his hand from your limb. You shake your head before you start to move away, ready to serve another customer before you whisper, “My break is soon. Stay here.”
At your tone, Jungkook’s pants tighten, and he crosses his legs before you can see, shifting his attention to the neatly organized lunch in front of him. He has to admit, the way you get work done, is admirable - this café is cute to begin with, but having you place the croissants, flowers and tea on the tables the way you do, is incredibly pleasing to the eye.
And this is exactly what he watches you do for the remaining twenty-five minutes. He never fails to notice how you move your hips, your sweet, little skirt always sliding up your thighs a little when you bow down to pour tea into your customers’ cups. His chest burns with impatience, his fingers drumming on the table - until he finally sees you walk away, slowly removing your apron as your eyes meet his for a split second.
Taking this as his cue, he immediately stands up, rushing back to where he knows you will be; and you haven’t gone far yet when he reaches you and grabs your arm from behind, pulling you into the washroom. You gasp at the sudden movement - but he doesn’t give you much more time to react as he locks the door behind you, pushing you against the door and crashing his lips onto yours.
You immediately react to his touch, eyes closing while you grab his hair. You let him press himself into you, his neediness obvious in the way his hands settle on your ass right away.
Jungkook parts from you, panting against your lips as he says, “You’re driving me insane in this fucking skirt of yours.”
In between heated kisses, his fingers find the hem of your skirt and abruptly slide it down as he presses himself harder into you.
“All I could think of the whole time,” he breathes against your skin, leaving a wet trail with his tongue, “was your sweet, little pussy on my dick.”
“You know my break only lasts thirty minutes, right?”
“Baby, this is more than enough time.”
He pulls down your shirt in a haze, revealing your breasts before he starts sucking on the swell of them hard, making sure to leave beautiful, purple marks on your flesh. Throughout the whole afternoon, his hunger for you had increased at a rapid pace, and he desperately needs to still it right fucking now.
And when his fingertips find your clothed core, he starts rubbing circles against your clit, hissing at the hot wetness that soaks through your lace panties.
“Fuck, so wet, Y/N,” he mutters, biting his lower lip when he sees the gorgeous expression on your face. “My god- I want to be inside you so bad.”
“Well, what’s stopping you?” you ask, throwing your head back, well aware that you will spend five minutes later to fix your hair for the second part of the shift.
“You’re right.” His voice is hazy, quiet, playful and seductive. “Nothing’s stopping me. Especially not you.”
You grin with closed eyes when he pushes your panties down, now running up and down your wet folds - so teasingly slow and yet so deliciously satisfying. In all honesty, you can’t say what drove him up the wall today so much. Usually, he finds it easy to stay patient. You’ve noticed that on multiple occasions, and him edging you for an hour sometimes is not the sole proof for your assumption.
But today, he is out of control. And he doesn’t wait long until he slides two of his fingers into you, eliciting a moan out of you that is loud enough for people outside to hear if they happen to walk by the door.
“Shh,” he orders, biting into your lip, “can’t have anyone hear us, right?”
You nod slowly, your mouth falling open wider when he reaches the perfect, sweet spot, curling his fingers inside you as his other hand grabs your hair. He pulls your head to the side before he attacks your neck with harsh kisses, his tongue swirling and licking your skin so intensely that it has your head spinning.
“No… marks,” you manage as you grip his shoulders hard, most likely leaving crescent-shaped marks even through the fabric of his shirt.
You feel him smirk against your skin - nothing you say will affect him. He likes it when everyone can see that you belong to someone, to him. He loves how you look strolling around like that, shyly showing the world that no one can claim you, because you’re his already.
As Jungkook bites into your neck, you trap your lower lip between your teeth, trying so hard not to scream out as your hands fumble with his belt. Soon enough, you slide his pants down along with his underwear until his cock springs out. He aids you, pulling his clothing down to his knees as he gasps into your flesh when you wrap your fingers around his thick, smooth length.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. Let me fuck you,” he pants, his breathing becoming laboured, chest heaving hard as he takes in your blissed out state. He’s doing that. You’re losing your mind because of him; and this mere fact fogs his head, his cock twitching in your fist as he groans.
“No one’s stopping you. Especially not me,” you say while your hand moves around his shaft faster, your thumb collecting his pre-cum before you circle his head.
Still pumping his fingers into you at a faster pace, he drowns in the squelching sound that your pussy is providing him with, and the sensation of his digits moving in and out so easily has his cock harden impossibly until he falters.
He pulls out his fingers before he brings them to his lips; watching you intently, he licks them clean of your juices, his eyes rolling back as you feel his cock poke your stomach. You’re helplessly pinned against the door, your legs already shivering from his previous ministrations. And when you let out an involuntarily moan, his eyes snap open, fingers coming down to settle behind your knees as he pulls you up.
You react immediately, wrapping your legs around his waist as he interlocks your lips again. He kisses you hungrily, hard, his tongue seeking yours. Supported by his body and the door, you’re floating in the air, moving your hips impatiently against him to signal what you want.
“Needy much?” he inquires with a grin, grabbing his cock to rub it slowly against your folds. He applies slight pressure - but not enough to slide in.
“Shut up,” you command, your forehead coming down to rest on his shoulder. “Don’t be so cocky.”
He laughs quietly, putting a hand on your jaw and pushing his cock inside with the other. Going in inch by inch, you both groan at the same time, your sounds muffled right on time when you bite into his shoulder.
“Fuck, always so tight,” he states as he bottoms out. His hands squeeze your ass, nails digging into it hard while he waits for you to adjust.
“And you’re always so big. So thick, too, shit,” you mewl, drawing a sharp breath when you feel him move just a little.
Jungkook still waits for you to talk, to give him a sign that you’re ready. When you finally inhale and nod, telling him he can start, his grip on you becomes tighter. And right as you exhale, he pulls back, thrusting into you just once, hard, robbing all the air from your lungs.
“Kook, oh god,” you cry out, wrapping your arms around his neck as you feel his lips and warm breath brush your neck.
He repeats his movements once more before he steadily, graciously increases his pace. His teeth catch your earlobe, nibbling at it while thrusting into you simultaneously; your sounds spur him on further, and soon, he’s hitting spots of you that have you keening.
Jungkook definitely knows your body - he knows just how he has to fuck you to make you feel good, has learned which patches of skin to kiss to put you in a haze. Now that he has figured out how to please you into oblivion, he can’t get enough of your taste and touch, longing for your body and your love every waking second.
“You feel so fucking good,” he tells you, placing his hand under your chin to pull your head back. You look at him through half-lidded eyes, lips parted and breathing heavily. “And you look even better.”
“Baby, you-”
He chuckles at your stuttering, coming close until his lips are only inches away from yours, whispering, “What? Say it. Tell me how good I make you feel. Say my name, baby.”
“So good, Jungkook, so, so fucking goo-”
A sharp, hard thrust interrupts your sentence and your thoughts, and soon enough, he’s pounding into you, having your eyes sting at the intensity and from the pleasure. With every move he makes, your moans become louder, shaky breaths forcing him to stay focused without losing control entirely. But not long after, you hear footsteps outside the door, having Jungkook halt his movements suddenly.
His gaze shifts to the handle of the door, his ears listening carefully before your pussy clenches once around him. You feel his throbbing dick twitch inside you and Jungkook’s lips part, eyes suddenly shooting to meet yours again as he brings his hand up to cover your mouth.
“Be quiet now,” he orders again, continuing the movement of his hips as he pulls out his cock almost entirely before he slides in again. Your aching walls suck in him so desperately that he can’t help but fuck into you roughly again.
He clenches his jaw as he fights the urge to growl out loud, your muffled moans and closed eyes only making it harder. The wet sounds of your pussy become almost unbearable at some point, and he buries his face in your neck again to calm himself down.
To no avail - you feel too good around him, too tight, soaked and warm. He removes his hand to kiss you again, his soft lips moving against yours as he swallows your every sound. Grabbing your ass again, he pushes you against him, fucking so roughly into you by now, his pelvic bone rubbing against your clit, that you feel your high near. The intensity of the moment, mixed with the knowledge that you’re in a public place and not alone on your bed, leaves you utterly excited.
“Fuck, I’m - I’m cumming, I-” you say as you pull away from his lips, his mouth ghosting over your cheek instead and fingers having somehow found their way to your clit, rubbing in an insane pace.
“Yes, god, yes. Cum around my cock, babygirl.” His relentless pounding and his words soon throw you over the edge, having you fall and fall for an infinite amount of time until you land on a pillowy soft ground, your sight so blurry that you feel like you’re seeing stars. And when you clench around him, he looks down to see his dick and balls getting soaked, your juices running down his sex driving him half insane. “Holy fuck, Y/N.”
“Jungkook-”
“Holy shit. Did you just fucking squirt? Oh my god,” he says with a light laugh, fucking you through your high until his thighs start to tremble just like yours are, “oh my fucking god.”
And then, he finally lets go, too, ropes of cum shooting into you repeatedly as he finishes, leaving breathless kisses on your cheek and temple. You feel like you’re outside of your body - your spirit feels so feather-light that you don’t register anything but his fingers stroking your skin, pulling you back to him.
“Baby,” he cooes - and when you open your eyes to smile back at him, you catch him gaze at you fondly, full of love. You wipe away the sweat glistening on his forehead, and he presses his lips onto yours for one chaste kiss before he says, “I love you, my sweet girl.”
“I love you, too, my needy darling,” you answer, rubbing the tip of your nose against his.
You feel him softening inside you, and he doesn’t pull out for now; only stares at you in admiration, worshipping every single inch of your face and every piece of your being. But then, a playful smirk takes the place of the gentle expression, and he wiggles his eyebrows.
“What?” Your voice is somehow hoarse, and you clear your throat before you ask again, “What is it?”
“I made you squirt,” he declares, letting out a proud chuckle. That’s when you feel yourself still leaking, tilting your head to look down.
“Your legs. They’re so- get some paper tissues and clean up that mess,” you say, attempting to push him away - but he holds you tight in his grip, still pinned against the wall.
“Just a little longer,” Jungkook whispers, peppering your face with slow, loving kisses, his hand brushing your ass gently. “Want to look at you a little more.”
You laugh at his sweet words, pulling him closer into your embrace. “My hopeless, horny romantic.”
“Ah, my birthday girl. I can’t wait to go home with you,” he mutters into your hair, wrapping his arms around you.
You’ve never wished your day at work to end as much as you do now.
could you do a bakugo,Midoryia and Todoroki (all separate) with a really alt s/o ?
like they’re pretty well known on social media (like they’re on everyone’s pinterest boards you know?) they could be in the hero course or in mics music course !!
it’s alright if not !! i never really see alt rep in x reader work so i understand if you aren’t comfy with it :) have a lovely day sweets and remember to eat lots ! xx
🍀 hello dear! Just had lunch so I'm full and happy writing this :)
Boys x alt! reader
Bakugou, Midoriya, Todoroki, gn!reader, fluff
Bakugou
Yep, just from your style this boy likes you already
If your confident in your style- holy shit, this motherfucker started skimping and he didn't realise
I think he thought his 'type' was probably a sporty person or who shares love for heros, which good if you are also
But his s/o just rocking down the street in the cool ripped tights and those boots that challenge his? Yes please~
He feels like he can easily match your style a little bit, like he isn't alt himself but he can throw on an all black number and call it a day
Someone mocks you for how you dress? No, he isn't having it
People take pictures with you? Yeah okay but do not touch his s/o. Nope
He loves helping you develop your Instagram account, he knows a thing or two about photography ( ahem thanks Masaru)
He met you through Jiro, you were a good friend of hers since you took music lessons off her dad which led you to get into the music course
This boy insists on reading your lyrics/ music sheet before you show anyone else
He loves to chill with you, who needs to go to some crowded park when you can both chill listening to your playlist as you play videogames
He loves is when you pick out his outfits, honestly he will wear it, and let everyone know you chose it out
"Yeah, y/n picked out the jacket -of course I look good! Tch they know style dumbass"
Black nails? Black nails
Wants to do your eyeliner for you, but ends up letting you try our different designs on him first :)
Todoroki
He thought you were being "rebellious" so he tried to ask you how to do that to annoy his father
And then he found out you just enjoy this style- yeah he now wants to dye his hair bc fuck it
He normally wears pretty casual bland clothes so when you are given his dads credit card to splurge on yourself you deffintly pick up a few things for Shouto
He decides to listen to your spotify, definitely not his taste in music but he will bare it if it makes you happy :)
Todoroki with ear piercings? Yes, why? Because Endeavor hates them ;)
This boy isn't a huge fan of social media, simply due to him always being in the spotlight since he was very young, but if you want him in a few of your pictures he doesn't mind
^ he is the cutest hype man in the comments though "this is what perfection looks like 💓" "you look so cute :)" and the best one yet- "mine 🖤💍"
He enjoys doing your skin care for you before you both get until bed, just him wiping off your make up and moisturizing your skin makes him warm and fuzzy inside <3
Kaminari thought it was funny since apparently Todoroki in an "alt" style fits his personally better then a rich boy, Shouto doesn't understand but you found it funny
You jokingly called him "my dark prince" when you painted his nails black and he was wearing all black
Shouto loves walking around differnt shops with you as you shop for your style, he doesn't mind being a human coat rack, but in return you owe him a kiss for each item of clothing ;)
Midoriya
I wouldn't say he had an "alt" phase but he did go through a small "emo" phase a few years ago- dark time
He thinks it's cute how different you both are from each other
People have said he now has "scary dog" privileges, (is that was it's called?) When you both go out places
You once customized an All Might figure to match your aesthetic and gave it to him as a gift, it now has a special place on his shelf :)
Bakugou once commented on your style and he got the filthiest look from Deku, yeah Bakugou knows not to say anything anymore...
Izuku thought it would look cute if he got one ear pierced by you from those self piercing piercers, this boy took everything in him to not cry as you pierced his ear...
If your in the hero course and have a hero costume themed like your casual style, this boy is your hype man, seriously. He thinks it's so cool that you made your hero costume based around your self and not your quirk- or even just letting the designers do whatever
This boy tried to do eyeliner once- yeah...he got it in his eye
If you dye your hair he will help you
Has a little notebook on everything about your style and preferences, e.g. music, makeup brands, clothing styles etc.
As you can tell from this monstrosity of a post that I am clearly not Alt myself-
Thank you for reading!
Requests are closed!
Marinette tried not to be obvious with her annoyance, but it was difficult when she knew that Lila had come to the Liberty specifically to irritate her. It wasn't even her paranoia creeping up, as Lila had made it clear from their first day of face-to-face interaction that she wanted to make Marinette's life miserable. The worst part was that everyone else either believed her or tolerated her, meaning Marinette looked unreasonable no matter what she did to combat it.
She figured she should've known that Luka would be Lila’s next target. The Liberty had always felt like somewhat of a safe haven - funny, considering who owned it - so it had only been a matter of time until Lila had heard enough to decide to show up there.
"Oh, she seemed so curious to actually be on a houseboat! She's only ever been on yachts and stuff before! How could we say 'no'?
Marinette tried to keep her lips shut tight so the gritting of her teeth wasn't seeable to anyone. The best she could do was watch from afar and keep any unkind comments internal while vaguely fantasizing about being Ladybug and dumping Lila in the garbage where she belonged.
Luka, to his credit, didn't seem to take Lila's bait like everyone else. She'd sought him out and he technically listened to her (as she lied about all the music people she knew and all the connections she could give him), but he was mostly occupied with tuning his guitar, only giving her a vague noise every now and then to signal that he was listening.
It was one of Marinette's few joys of the day, which made it twice as infuriating when Lila ruined it.
"Anyway, Luka," Lila added, her voice saccharine and fake, "I really hope you and I can become great friends."
Luka's eyebrow twitched.
"And don't worry, I would never force you. I know there are some people like that, who want to make everything go their way—"
Marinette knew it was a jab at her even though she definitely wasn't that kind of person; from Lila's point of view though, of course she'd think that.
Lila continued, "but I'd never do that to you, okay? I promise!"
For the first time since she'd been talking to him, Luka turned to her, his expression somewhere between neutral and the annoyance he showed at listening to XY's "version" of Kitty Section's music. "Can you please—"
He didn't get to finish that sentence, as Lila suddenly leaned in to kiss him. Luka jerked away the moment it registered with him, but it was already too late; the contact had been made.
All the anger that had been stewing in Marinette's stomach bubbled to the surface. She stormed over, her body language confrontational as she asked, "What do you think you're doing?!"
The outburst had gotten the attention of the other girls. Though they hadn't seen it, what happened was obvious given the way Luka was covering his mouth.
Lila turned to face Marinette, sinking to that vulnerable state she used so much whenever she got caught. "I-I didn't mean to! I meant to kiss his cheek and he turned too quickly."
It was a lie, and Marinette knew it. Lila had intentionally said things to make Luka look at her so she could kiss him, all to irritate Marinette.
"You see..." Lila pressed her palm to her cheek. "I-I thought a cheek kiss would be okay. You don't seem like the type of person who would be close to someone like him, and everyone told me that you do it all the time."
Marinette was fuming at the implication, feeling personally insulted at the idea that she and Luka weren't close.
And they'd told her. Her friends had been gossiping about her to Lila, or at least telling her details, which Marinette herself had definitely not consented to.
She went to toss a glare her friends' way, but they were already rushing forward to assure Lila that everything was okay, with Marinette having to step away or risk getting knocked back with the way they formed around her.
"M-maybe I need to re-learn French customs. I spent so long away from the country and other places have—"
Marinette wasn't listening anymore. She knew how this went and didn't want to be around to see another repeat of it, nor her friends potentially shouting at her. She turned away with a frustrated exhale, speed-stomping away and going up the stairs to head outside.
Passing by the cabin, she went into the greenhouse-esque area with all of the larger plants, plopping down on the long flower-patterned seating with a heavy sigh. She'd fallen right into Lila's trap, again, and couldn't help being angry at the whole situation.
Going after her was one thing, but Luka? And to kiss him like that on top of trying to lure him in with her deceit? Marinette knew deep down that she had a right to be upset at Lila's actions, but the way she reacted to it just ended up making Lila look like the victim instead of Luka. Had she failed him?
She groaned into her clasped hands, imagining that Luka must've thought that she looked like a fool shouting like that. She liked to think that she would've done things differently had she been able to do it again, but she was still angry and honestly just wanted to go off on Lila again.
She didn't move, though briefly considered going home. After all, it'd be pointless going back downstairs, as she'd probably just end up being glared at and blamed for Lila being upset. Luka probably didn't want to see her either after that display anyway.
As if her concerns had summoned him, she suddenly heard his voice call out to her from nearby. "Marinette?"
She stiffened, then lowered her hands enough to peek at him. When none of the negative emotions she expected showed on his face, she lowered them the rest of the way.
"Are you okay?" he asked gently.
She straightened, jaw slack that's that what he was concerned about. "Am I okay? What about you?!" She gestured wildly to him. "That—that akuma-luring harpy just kissed you!"
She realized what she said and covered her mouth, knowing that it was a much more direct insult than she usually would've gone with. Luka, however, tried to suppress a laugh from it, snorting loudly into his hand.
"I—" He cut himself off, still chuckling too much to speak. After a few seconds, he took a breath to calm down, then gave her a calm smile and continued, "I washed my mouth out, just to make sure."
Marinette tried to keep her negative emotions at the forefront, but then she was trying to suppress her laughter as well. She almost felt bad about it, but the wide grin on Luka's face showed that he'd fully intended for her to have that reaction. He walked over, taking a seat down next to her and leaning forward to maintain eye contact.
He waited until she quieted herself down with a final squeak that he asked again, "Really, are you okay?"
The smile she had on from laughter faded, though her spirits were still much higher than before. "Not really. She—she's always doing that." She glanced at him. "Let me guess, they're catering to her?"
He nodded. "They're planning on having lunch without you since you—" He made a face, clearly displeased. "—'made her so upset.'" He stared out of the glass opposite of them. "I wasn't going to join them."
"You didn't have to do that," she said, though her voice was soft from being touched by the gesture.
He gave her a smile. "I know, but I'd rather have lunch with you than with everyone else and that—" He smirked. "—'harpy.'"
Marinette tried to bite back a smile of her own, but couldn't. Hearing the pure-hearted Luka say an insult so brazenly, even if he was just parroting her own, was too funny not to smile at.
"Thanks~" she said gratefully.
"I should be thanking you," he argued. He leaned back in his seat, but didn't stop looking at her. "For being so upset on my behalf."
She blushed, looking away with both shyness and embarrassment. "I-I was really loud though."
"You play your song for everyone to hear, Marinette. I love that about you."
She blushed deeper, mentally cursing his smoothness. "How are you so okay with this?"
"I'm not," he replied, "not really, but..." He shrugged. "That kiss didn't mean anything to me. It wasn't real."
She looked over at him, frowning. "T-that was your first though, wasn't it?"
His brows rose in surprise, his face telling her everything she needed to know even before he responded. "...Well, yeah."
Now that she'd had it officially confirmed, Marinette bristled. "It's not right!" She huffed and turned to him, throwing her arms out. "Your first kiss is supposed to be special and with someone you really love! It's not supposed to just be stolen from you like that!"
He touched a hand to his chest, clearly touched by her passionate anger. She turned red and forced herself to look away from him, finding it hard to stay angry when he stared at her that way.
"...And I know you were already pretty upset with her, I could see it," she explained, "so it wasn't like I felt like I had to get angry for you, but still. She doesn't care what anyone thinks and I'm mad at her for kissing you like that and I'm mad at me because she only did it to get on my nerves and I know I shouldn't be mad at me because she's just mad that I won't fall for her lies but I'm mad anyway because I still let her rile me up when that's exactly what she wanted." Burying her face in her hands, she whined and added, "I guess I wasn't jealous at least - not in that way anyway - since I'd never want to do anything to you without your permission like she did, but I know she meant for me to get to jealous because I just—"
She cut herself off, the words clogging up her throat and forcing her to swallow them. She raked her fingers through her hair, mentally debating with herself if she really wanted to tell Luka everything.
But of course she did. Not only did he deserve it, but she felt responsible for her feelings and it was her fault that things happened the way they did, even if it was indirect on her part.
"I..." She closed her eyes and sighed, her voice lowering itself to a whisper. Hunching over, she wrung her hands together and admitted quietly, "I wanted to be your first kiss..."
Silence took over the conversation from there, but she understood. She just dropped a bomb on him and couldn't expect him to reply right away, so she let the seconds drag on without any judgment on her part.
Eventually, she heard the sound of Luka sliding himself closer, so close that the side of his hand briefly touched her leg. He inhaled softly like he was about to speak, stopped, then tried again.
"You... you what?"
She steeled herself up, the words only slightly easier to say than before. "I wanted to be your first kiss. I-I'm selfish, and I know that. Everyone knows it, and that's why—"
His hand touched her leg again. She briefly jumped in surprise, then realized moments later that the touch was intentional this time, as he'd fully settled his hand on her leg. Fighting against her nerves, she turned to look at him and saw how relaxed his expression was.
"You can be selfish."
"W-what?"
"It makes me happy. It means that—" He paused, his cheeks tinting pink as he smiled wide. "—you really want me."
It almost sounded like a question the way he said it, his eyes distant only in a way that implied that he's still absorbing what she'd said.
Her chest filled with hope as she squeaked out, "I...I do. Of course I do." Looking down at the hand on her lap, she placed her own onto it and gave it a squeeze. "But..."
The hope twisted and fought with the shame attempting to take its place, memories of the past coming back to haunt her. She averted her gaze fully, staring off at nothing in particular. "I-I can't give you my first kiss." She squeezed his hand tighter, as if that made anything better. "There was this akuma, and I had to... I mean—"
She felt his hand shifting in hers and immediately worried that she'd squeezed it too hard. She loosened her grip, only to feel his hand turn itself around to hold her hand back, pressing their palms together. The motion made her look back and make eye contact with him.
"Then that wasn't real either, was it?" he asked gently. Giving a fond glance down at their joined hands, he added, "This might be more Rose's type of music than mine, but I think the only kisses that have to matter are the ones that you put meaning into playing."
She gaped. It was still registering with her that he was not only okay with her crushing on him, but still returned it. "S-so... it's not any different? You'd let me kiss you anyway?"
"I never thought about first kisses or second kisses, or any verses beyond that," he told her, placing his other hand on top of their joined ones. "I only care about your kisses."
Marinette's cheeks turned crimson, and she nearly burst into happy laughter. She settled for beaming at him, still amazing at how easily he could ease all of her worries and doubts.
"Then... I'll give you all of them."
She shifted, continuing to hold his hand while her other went to his face. He leaned into her touch, making her all the more eager to pull him in. He didn't protest when she did, his hand moving away from their joined ones to grab her shoulder.
They kissed. Marinette was momentarily surprised when Luka's lips seemed to have a hint of wetness to them, only to realize that he'd meant it when he said that he'd washed his mouth out. She giggled mid-kiss, positively delighted to have someone like him, and he responded to the sound with a soft noise of content. She stroked his cheek with her thumb, then slid her hand down to his neck to urge him closer. He did the same with her shoulder, pulling her in and deepening the contact.
It took a few seconds of internal debate for her to convince herself to break the kiss to talk to him, and she enjoyed the slight whine he made as she did so.
"Better than Lila?" she asked, knowing the answer but wanting to hear it regardless.
"Definitely," he replied without hesitation, leaning in to touch his forehead to hers.
She hummed. "Mm, good." She pulled him back in for a smaller, quicker kiss that was no less loving than the last. Full of confidence, she felt it safe to say, "I should always be playing my boyfriend's favorite song."
His reaction was immediate, his eyes sparkling and his smile wide. She blushed red, overwhelmed and half-regretting saying anything. He was just too much.
"What is it?" he asked when she averted her gaze.
"P-please stop smiling like that," she whined.
"I can't," he said. More to himself than her, he added cheerfully, "I'm your boyfriend."
"Luka!"
