I just wanted to say that you've greatly inspired me to start working on my own clangen comic!! I'm TERRIBLE at drawing cats, so when I first started reading clangen comics I figured I would never make one. But yours was the first one I read that wasn't based off "cats" per se. After I read yours I sought out more clangen comics that didn't feature cats, and I finally started my own!! @scaleclan-clangen (I'm still not very good at drawing in general, but better dragons than cats haha). Obviously you don't have to respond, but if you do choose to, then I would love to hear any tips that you may have!

I'm definitely not the first to use non-cats for a clangen, so i can take 0 credit for that cx Even before I started there was at least a few around using other species (pigeons, wof dragons and chickens off the top of my head), I think there's even one using inanimate objects out there!

I've done a few comic/clangen tip asks but as for art advice, it's tricky because it's mostly the same old "practice always" cx

For dragons specifically I can give one bit of personal advice which is: References are great even if you're drawing a made up animal!

Find a living creature with similar anatomy even just in one area (wings/legs/head/etc) and boom, references! I originally learned to draw almost exclusively from my silly original species so this does work I promise cx

Something I always say is "if you used a reference and it still looks wrong, it is". Which is to say, use references but don't marry yourself to them, go with what looks right! Usually I find a couple of similar ones and draw from both, rather than replicating one completely. When I'm drawing a particularly in-depth pose (such as Poppy hunting in Moon 8) I often try to find a video of the moments surrounding it, to get a better idea of movement. Also the line of action is your friend and it's Not just relevant in animation, it will also make your still drawings hold more motion c:

When learning a new species, or a particularly hard pose, I'll often doodledump loosely from a reference then put that reference right next to the doodle to compare where I went off.

This way you get a better feel for shapes than you would from tracing (which isn't The Devil, but should be used sparingly), and better proportions than just loose referencing c:

Guys, if you're ever harassed by the Aoi's Husband guy, run him with me. I'm not fucking scared of him, he's a fucking child, average middle schooler in the ghetto type child. The gore he sends isn't shit to me, I can handle it. His threats of doxxing, cutting up families, etc, are all fucking lies, he isn't going to do shit. I've already been through a lot against that guy. I was called slurs, sent gore, hit on, and he told me "let's smash" along with "I'd love a minor girl." One, I'm a GUY. Two, no way an actual adult has this mindset to harass kids over liking a character, I may be wrong, the world is fucked up. I know for a fact this prick isn't over 18, he's nothing to me.

Dex sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair. Nightmares of the past have her wide awake. The latest case weighing on her mind. She browsed through things on her phone when she saw something catch her eye.

Nex wasn't one for playing music, unless there was drinks involved. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Well, there's basically a hellpit on some discord server that has, uh, takes about Nabateans in generals and Flayn isn't spared from the... rhetoric spewed there, but in general, that'd be too easy of an answer to pick here!

I get that everyone has their own reading on characters and maybe they appreciate them more as "characters who are OOC" rather than their canon version -

But damn if the "Flayn joins the BESF" takes puzzled me back in August 2019, and still do nowadays.

And I mean, join as in "not as a relic", but somehow joins because either the BESF are her BFFs, Rhea BaD or a mix of the two.

Sure, Fodlan's characters are written with the consistency of cream cheese because they must be able to follow the player's avatar wherever they go, even if it blows holes the size of the Atlantic in their characterisation - something Nopes, for all of its issues, corrected - and yet I still think that a small core of characters not being recruitable in house X or Y means that their writing couldn't be "that warped around the player's fingers".

I mean, we only have, what, 5? 6? 10? characters who won't be recruited by Billy in FE16 and those characters are the ones who receive the most solid characterisation - and yet we still had (have?) takes wondering, and not in a "what if AU" or mere "plotbunnies" why those characters couldn't join route X.

Again, if we're talking about AUs or fics, who are inherently dealing with OOC stuff, it wouldn't annoy me that much, but the fact that we still had "canon" discussion about how it's a shame that we cannot recruit Flayn in Golden Trasfire is just... if you're supposed to talk about canon!Flayn, then you really missed her characterisation.

Yes Flayn doesn't like lies and wars, but first and foremost, she doesn't want to lose her family! She already participated in a war against maniacs who wanted them gone (or turned in shiny weapons), if she has to fight to protect herself and/or her loved ones, she will.

OOC: Today was a day where I barely had a moment to catch my breath after work, but I went to the cinema with family.

On the way in I noticed the M.ufasa poster, but I only stopped to look at it on the way out and noticed three things about S.car:

1: He's got the scar! That wasn't in the big trailer. It looks fairly fresh, but a lot neater compared to the... previous movie? Sequel? The other live action. As an older lion, the fur hasn't grown back properly. Does that mean he gets injured a second time, or maybe get infected? (Or, more likely, maybe as he grew older the fur thinned out, making it look worse in certain lighting)

2: The choice of lighting really emphasises a brown pelt compared to the paler one he should have in the 'live action'. I'd imagine it's a case of over-saturation, given M.ufasa's mane having a fairly strong orange tint to it rather than anything significant. Still, it's curious.

3: He's hunched over so he's closer to the familiar body shape that the animated version has. Again, it's not really something that was shown in the trailer, to my recollection. While looking for a visual reference for point 1, I found another poster which had him in a more "good guy" pose while retaining the scar. Again, curious.

Meredith's Hero AU would simply be that instead of running the Gallows with an iron-fist to justify the means to the end of protecting people from mages - and mages from themselves - she'd rather advocate for Circles to be places of education and safety for mages - where her sister could've gone to learn instead of being in hiding for fear of the Order. She'd be more radical in the other direction, fighting in Amelia's memory to transform it and would probably face a lot of resistance.
