1- soooooo about Bread growing feathers... Was it a one time thing or something permenent? Since Adrien alergic to feathers will he get sneezy around her? That might be one last fuck you from wish lmao.
2- We know wish forces cat miraculous wearers to always be against Order, since Order is gone does that mean they can finally take some steps to fix their relationship?
3- I feel like every hero's secret identity (other than Bread and Adrien) is known by their family. Nora seemed like she was about to punch and drag her sister in safety but held back because of... reasons...
4- (Early Discovery au) Can we say marriage counseling can save the Paris? That au spesificly is very funny to me because its just a rich family failing to communicate properly while looking for an underage girl with most inconvient ways possible so they can recieve magic macarons. Meanwhile Adrien stares at his parents who is one argument away from divorce, nods then leaves. Magical chibi sized gods are here too i guess.
5- Watching inside out then reading the series made me realise if we could see Mari's head anxiety would hold the reins in her head. Poor girl.
6- (joke) How much more time needs to pass for Plag to be able to ask for child support? Can he claim he raised his kitten? Will he and Tom fight against each other? Will he get much much emotional during important events in Bread's life compared to canon Adrien's? (okay last one wasnt really a joke)
7- (Early Discovery au) I noticed Mari was quite nervous while talking to Adrien... Was it because she is afraid of possible backlash or she is really uncomfortable about trying to decieve him? I feel like it's more likely social awkwardness but there is more...
8- (Early discovery au) Emilie seems very insecure as a mother. Is there any spesific event that caused that?
9- Let's assume Wishmaker gave Mari her childhood dream. How much different it would be compared to canon? And how much knowing it would screw Luka?
1: The feathers are magic so, maybe they are non-allergenic. Yes it is a partial F U from the wish but it is more just the punishment of using the combined Catalyst.
2: Misterbug is no longer under the Wish's influence that does not mean that the Wish is gone. Remember Feast was defeated...
3: Nora held back at that time due to not being a hundred percent certain and needing to confirm it. It would have been very awkward/rude if she was wrong after all.
4: For the most part yes, marriage counseling could save Paris. At least for a bit, I won't say much but Emilie does still need her medicine. Adrien is in the background with the kwami getting there help.
5: Anxiety is working overtime in Marinette's head. Meanwhile Fear has a conspiracy board set up and Sadness's has a room full of memories.
6: Plagg will have a full legal battle so he can get custody! His lawyer, a clever fox named Trixx is more than ready to help! The rest of the kwami are getting tissues and will have a party for her at each major millstone.
7: A bit of both. She was walking into a situation that could have easily backfire, Marinette hates lying/deceiving people but there was also a third thing. This Marinette hasn't had any good social situations with anybody in a long time.
8: Well, she is slightly insecure because she started to release that she wasn't the best mother before the events of the series. Remember she was fully onboard with essentially isolating her son and now whenever Adrien has trouble with social situations or connecting with people Emilie blames herself.
9: Hmm, now that is a question. On one hand younger Marinette would still have the wish of being the knitting fairy due to how young she was back then. However, that wish would be overshadowed by her other childhood wish of being the best cat hero and making Plagg proud of her! So she would become Super Cheshire! As for Luka if the first situation happened he would investigate who Cheshire's civilian identity is then proceed to be horrified by what is going on followed by being beyond pissed at Juleka for her part in this girl's broken heartsong.

Honestly from hearing what you're saying about the movie and listening to others, I've come to the conclusion that people who love the show hate the movie and those who love the movie hate the show or at least the show's ending lol. Cause I really loved the movie and wished they introduced the concepts brought up in the movie into the show...... and also get rid of Thomas cause he's ass lmao
I honestly have a hard time thinking people thought it was better than the show, sorry but??
The miraculous lore is so flat and empty. No lucky charm?? What's great about Ladybug's power is that she finds solutions with her cleverness and it wasn't at all exploited. It was honestly hard to understand how they even managed to beat the villains at all. No akumatised objects, you don't understand well how the akuma leave them or anything
They made Chat Noir a misogynistic asshole lmao who is this guy, I don't know him
None of the characters backstory is exploited nor make sense. Adrien was in school all along? He's not a model? He can stand up to his father like it's normal? Sorry but no
WHERE IS THE TENSION NONE FOUND HERE. There's an identity reveal that couldn't fall more flat because there's no time to see the characters interact, there's no time to build some tension of sort. Adrinette is barely seen onscreen so a reveal cannot be impactful knowing that
The way they fall in love is just....lame and empty?? Marinette just falls for a guy in a library who asks her if she's alright. Cool. Chat Noir falls for Ladybug after she saved his sorry macho ass and there's no big moment or whatever apart from Careless Whisper playing
The themes were basics and done in the most cliché way (be yourself, not be afraid, loveeee wins etc)
Marinette wants to be ladybug again because?? Of some song with Tikki??? And that's it? No big moment where she realises she has to stand in or anything. She just suddenly goes 'ok I have to do that'
Don't get me started on the Gabriel/Adrien reveal and their hug and all fjzjjdje anyways
Marinette's cleverness and what makes her a hero in the series just isn't here. She's not standing out. Zag said fuck u feminism for real
Anyway I'll stop with the negative points hahaha, and share the bits I liked:
The ladynoir practice/play-fight was great and I wished we had had more of that in the series
The visuals in terms of background were great (still hate the characters design). But for instance the Eiffel Tower reaaaally looked huge as it is and we got that impression, the Paris of the movie feels a lot like the real Paris
And yeah Thomas doesn't have the best way of handling twitter at all but from what I've heard, Zag really isn't as great as the fandom makes him seem to be, he's just good at hiding it on social medias 😅 at least Thomas is a good storyteller and the same cannot be said about Zag with what happened in this movie and how...well.....his other shows are working

Making Amends - Hazy - Prompt 18, Chapter 5
@felixmonth, @stainedglassm
Summary: For Felix Month 2021 - beware, the chapters are not in chronological order^^
When Felix loses a bet with his cousin, he has to make amends with Adrien’s friends. Well, at least this provides a good excuse to spent a lot of time with Adrien’s “very good friend”, a certain designer, who may or may not be described as tolerable … or cute. This may not be so bad. Yeah, not bad at all.

"Nevertheless," continued Poirot, "in view of what has happened, the police there would like to have another look at the anonymous letter I received. I have said that you and I will go down to Andover at once."
An ear-piercing thunder outside the bay window made Felix jump. He looked up and realised to his surprise that he hadn't even noticed the dark clouds that had claimed the sky. When he had started reading The ABC Murders, one of his favourite Poirot novels by Agatha Christie, only a short while ago the sky had been a cerulean blue, dotted only by a few soft-looking clouds here and there. Now it seemed like the apocalypse had come, another great flood hell-bent on drowning all of Paris. The city lay almost abandoned in the darkness of the overcast sky, which was quite unusual for this hour. Strong winds ripped through streets and alleyways, jolting the shutters of the windows and shaking, no, nearly bending the trees lining the streets of the posh neighbourhood he lived in. The window pane was cold enough that his breath left a small spot on the glass. Another bolt of lightning illuminated the world outside the window for a few moments soon accompanied by its roaring thunder. Heavy drops of rain pounded against the window forming small rivulets as the water ran down the glass.
To be honest, it was the perfect weather for an afternoon reading session with his favourite detective novel. And still, the sudden change in weather didn't sit well with him.
Felix pulled out his phone to check the news. Maybe this was the result of an akuma attack? If he remembered correctly there had been an akuma with weather-based powers in the past. Weather Girl or Storm Witch or something like that. She, like practically every akuma victim, looked nearly as bad as every poor model who had to wear one of his uncle's creations. That was the one relevant information he took from Marinette's rant over text back then. The rant had started with her disappointment over her losing the chance to model with Adrien to the girl she babysat that day, although she was happy the girl had a good time. Felix deliberately forgot this detail and selectively remembered the complaint about the design of the one akuma he heard about before he caused three of them at the same time.
There had indeed been an akuma battle earlier but the victim hadn't possessed any weather powers. In the end, the hero duo won the battle with some safety pins. Felix was confident that the local heroine was well-versed in this item's utilisation.
The lights in the den suddenly turned on and Felix looked over to the door where his mother had just stepped into the room. “Felix, how often have I told you to turn on the lights and not read in the dark? You’re ruining your eyes by doing that,” she reprimanded him, but her voice was gentle. “I just noticed the storm when I heard the thunder. But thank you for turning on the lights,” he answered and looked out again, watching the spectacle for another minute before he wanted to return his attention to his novel.
“It’s really coming down now,” he heard his mother mutter. She had stepped to the window next to him and looked out with a frown. And as much as Felix would like to return to his book, he had a feeling that his mother actually wanted to talk to him about something. Of course, it could also be that she just didn't get the hint that the still-opened book in his lap was
“I just thought how a storm like this is the perfect weather for an afternoon with my favourite detective,” Felix told her and glanced back down to the pages of his novel. "The ABC Murders again?" she wanted to know. There was a slight smile on her lips when she looked at him, but Felix could read the worry in her eyes. He closed the book, showing her the cover to let her know that she was correct, and placed it next to himself.
"What's wrong? I can see that you are worried. Is it Gabriel? What did he do this time?" His mother shook her head. "No, Gabriel doesn't have anything to do with this. At least as far as I know. It's just …" She fell silent and turned fully to him.“Have you heard anything from Marinette?” she asked after a moment of silence.
Felix froze. Why would his mother ask about Marinette? He felt a bit queasy the more he mulled over her words. Was she just trying to make conversation? Or did she have another reason? There had been an akuma battle. Had his mother figured out who Ladybug was as well? Or did he give something away? He could have sworn he didn't change his behaviour after he found out. “Not since school today. Is there a reason you asked?” he carefully probed, trying to seem nonchalant about it. His mother turned back to the window and watched the storm, but her frown had deepened.
“I called Sabine earlier and asked her if we could get something delivered. Initially, she told me that the delivery man had to leave for an emergency, but right at that moment Marinette came back from babysitting the daughter of a friend and she said she would send Marinette to us,” she explained and finally sat down next to him.
“Mrs Cheng sent her daughter out into pandemonium?” he questioned in disbelief and gestured at the apocalyptic conditions outside. His mother shook her head. “That was before the storm. I guess Marinette had to take shelter when that akuma attacked. The battle took place right between the bakery and our building. And right after that, the thunderstorm started. I had hoped she might have sent you a message to let you know she would be late. But if she hasn’t …” His mother fell silent once more, visibly perturbed by the thought of a young teenager running an errand in a storm like this.
Felix picked up his phone again to take a look at his messaging app, but when he couldn't find a text or a voice message from his friend he tried to call her. He had no success, so he put his book down and stood up. “Felix? Where are you going?” He turned at the door back to his mother. “It’s not like Marinette to worry others. If she could, she would let us know she's late. So, I’ll go out to find her,” he declared.
“Felix, look outside! You can’t be serious! We can call the police-”
“I am perfectly serious, mother. If I’m not back or haven’t told you where I am in half an hour, you can still call the police. But I will go out and look for Marinette. After all, if anything happened to her it’s because you asked for a delivery when you could have sent someone. And I will also let Mrs. Cheng know not to spring more responsibilities on Marinette. She already seems to drown in all the burdens people just load on her.”
With that, he got a coat and decided with a look out another window against an umbrella and instead took a rain poncho to go out. The strong wind would have just ripped the umbrella from his hands.
Outside he could only see as far as a few meters. The rain came down heavy and shallow rivers ran down the streets. He tried to walk around at least the bigger puddles, but he couldn’t avoid them all and soon his feet felt wet and cold. He wasn't really angry and immediately regretted his harsh words. His mother had no idea about everything Marinette was juggling. It was his own worry that had made him react harsher than he usually would.
The streets were pretty empty. Most people probably took shelter when the akuma attacked and stayed there when the storm followed after, but he was pretty sure that wasn’t what Marinette had done. After being held up by the akuma she would have felt guilty for being late, so she would have tried to make it as fast as possible through the storm. The thought of her out here all alone gave him another freezing shiver which had nothing to do with the cold rain or the biting wind that found its way under his coat.
It only took ten minutes to find her. Felix had held his eyes open and when he found a person with black hair lying on the pavement he recognised the girl immediately. “Marinette?” Felix gently shook her shoulder and when she wouldn’t react he shook her harder. A groan stopped him. “Marinette?” he repeated with slight trepidation. “Felix?” she slurred and closed her eyes again. Felix looked at his phone to check the time. He could call an ambulance and wait with her, but he could bring her back to his apartment faster than the ambulance could be here. It was only a few minutes, he had taken longer to get here because he was searching and had to be sure since the visibility conditions were quite poor. But he could call his mother and have her call for a doctor and he could bring her to the apartment. By doing this he could try to get her warm and dry while waiting for a doctor.
Decision made he pulled the rain poncho off and draped it carefully over Marinette. After that he called his mother and let her know about his plan then he turned back to Marinette. Felix left the box with the bakery’s logo that had spilt next to her where it was. That stupid delivery was the reason she was in this state. Well, maybe one of the reasons. The pastries were soggy anyway, so nobody would eat them anymore.
The boy tried to pick up Marinette carefully. He made sure to cover her with the poncho as much as possible, so she would be protected from the rain for now. He also held her close to his chest in a desperate effort to share his remaining warmth with the sogging wet icy bundle in his arms as he made his way back to the apartment at a hurried pace.
“Felix?” he heard the girl in his arms rasp after he started walking back to his apartment. “Shhh, Marinette. Everything will be fine. I’ll bring you back to my apartment and we’ll get you dry and warm and comfy there, alright?” he reassured her, but he wasn’t sure whether she could hear him over the thunder and the rain pattering against the material of the poncho. Still, Marinette seemed to relax at his words. “Ev'ything's so hazy. 'don’ like it,” he heard her complain and he felt how she snuggled her face against his shoulder. “We will make the haze disappear,” he promised her after a moment he took to take a deep breath. Marinette just sighed and didn’t stir again until he was back at his building.
The lift couldn’t be fast enough and at the door, he rang the bell and knocked against the door. With his arms full of a bundle of unconscious designer he couldn’t unlock the door on his own. His mother opened, the worry and guilt written across her face. “You found her!” she exclaimed in relief. “Ines has prepared the guest bedroom for her. Ines? Can you help to get her out of her wet clothes? Felix, could you go and get some of your lounge attire? It’s probably still too big, but not as big as my clothes would be.”
Although Felix was loath to leave Marinette for even a second, he agreed that Marinette wouldn’t want him there when she was changed into dry clothes, so he left. In his wardrobe, he looked for the softest, comfiest clothes he had and soon returned with them to his mother. While he was waiting to be allowed back in he heard the bell ring and answered the door. It was the doctor his mother called. He allowed the woman in and led her to the bedroom. His mother came back out and waited with him in front of the door.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen,” she finally admitted. And Felix knew that. He wasn’t truly angry with his mother. Of course, she would assume it was fine if Marinette’s mother said so. He couldn’t blame this on her. He was just worried and his mother was there.
“I know,” he replied and offered her a hug which she accepted. “I’ll still need to have a serious talk with Marinette’s parents and with Marinette. She was lucky. Who knows if she would be as lucky the next time? She needs to take things slower or she needs someone to keep an eye on everything she does, so she won’t overdo herself.”
Actually, this wasn’t a bad idea. He was brilliant at planning and organising. Maybe Marinette would agree to have him manage her schedule. It would give him the perfect reason to spend more time with her as well. The more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea. He would approach Marinette about this when she felt better and not a moment earlier.
"Felix?" He looked away from the door to the guest room to his mother. "You're drenched. Go, take a hot bath or at least change into dry clothes as well. I'm sure Marinette wouldn't want you to get sick. The doctor is with her and Ines and I are here. It's going to be fine. You can take care of your own well-being now." She was right. Felix took a deep breath and let it go slowly. He felt the tension slowly leave his body and exhaustion settle in. If he took a bath, he would only fall asleep there, so he decided to just change his clothes. "Thank you, Mom," he croaked and turned away. The worry didn't leave him altogether, but the queasy feeling he had was barely there anymore only to return with a vengeance when he came back in lounge attire to see the doctor talk in a hushed and severe voice to his mother.
“-After enough rest, she should be fine,” the woman ended just as he arrived at the door. She couldn’t tell them more but would inform Marinette’s parents about the details. Felix wasn't satisfied with that, but there wasn't anything he could do. The doctor told them enough to properly take care of Marinette, any more information about her health would be reserved for her family. And after all, this was another way to let them know how dangerous the situation was, by a medical professional no less. He stepped into the room and sat down next to Marinette. No matter how tired he was, he wanted to assure himself of her health condition. Carefully he took her hand in his and gently stroked it. It pained him to see his fiery friend this vulnerable and fragile and he swore to himself, he would never allow anything like this to happen to her again. He would have to be there to prevent a repeat!
“Felix?” he heard Marinette mutter once more. Said boy felt his heart beat a bit faster and stronger. He changed his position so he sat down next to her on the bed and his fingers clasped her hand with a bit more force. “I’m here, Marinette. I’m with you.” The girl smiled a bit. “‘s not hazy an'more. ‘s comfy. Like promised,” she slurred and pulled his hand next to her face to snuggle it as she slipped back into sleep. Felix stayed right next to her on the bed until her parents arrived to bring her back home.

I never knew how to feel about Gabriel's parenting, in a show like Miraculous, obviously, characterisation and personality varies episode by episode, depending on the situation, the specific genre, and the purpose they had to fulfil.
From Season 1-2, I had always seen Gabriel as someone who loves Adrien, but never shows it. Convinced on the idea that he'll always have time, that Adrien would never want to branch out from him, that Adrien would one day want to leave him.
I certainly never saw him as a father in the physically-abusive spectrum, his negligence and emotional degradation isn't out of a malicious intention or need to hurt Adrien, but more because Gabriel Agreste is an innately callous man and cannot realise the depths or ramifications of his actions. And if he does – he'll simply think that everyone around him, including his young son, is simply being oversensitive.
Tumblr media
So this scene in Chat Blanc – was a bit unexpected.
It was set in an alternative dimension, a reality that never happened and was rewritten. But even so, it came out of nowhere for me. Following a popular law in alternative dimensions, a new world is created because of a choice made in a timeline, in this case, Marinette signing her name on the gift she left for Adrien caused Chat Blanc's appearance.
Although, Chat Blanc was never Marinette's fault, and like all issues in Miraculous is caused by the obsessive pursuit of one man.
This event in Chat Blanc pushes me to inspect Gabriel's perception of Adrien a bit more critically. Does he really love his son?
He says he does, and through audience-lens we can see what the on-screen character doesn't, that Gabriel does think about Adrien more than Adrien knows, but no matter what Gabriel thinks, if he doesn't show his love, than his own feeling matters very little in comparison to what the other person knows.
While I still don't believe that Gabriel has any malicious intentions towards Adrien or wishes him harm, I am starting to realise that Gabriel would willingly allow Adrien to be harmed, in certain contexts, if it means he is in control, if it gains him benefits.
In Gorizilla, for example, Gabriel as Papillon waits until the last possible moment to release Ladybug so that she may rescue free-falling Adrien, for the chance to uncover the possible secret identity of his son.
But in the special Miraculous Shanghai, Gabriel as Papillon who had been gleeful up until that very moment is horrified at the implication that YanLuoShi would destroy Shanghai, the very city his son is in, and his attempts to halt YanLuoShi in their moments resulted in his temporary vanquishment.
In Season 5, there is a new development.
As all humans are when they are on their death-bed, they are suddenly faced with regret, remorse, and a need to enjoy the things they do one last time, to right old wrongs, and to impart a kindness they had denied themselves and others their whole life.
Gabriel is no exception, and for the first time, Miraculous audience sees him committing actions that is frankly astonishing, something as simple as spending time with his son.
Tumblr media
It was comedic to watch Nathalie and Gabriel struggle over their mutual goal, taking care of Adrien, but with very different mindsets on how to approach the goal. While Gabriel is clearly asserting his dominance as Adrien's birth father, Nathalie remains adamant on her truthful statement that Gabriel knows little about Adrien now, and has no right to be suddenly so paternal and caring after all the difficulties he had placed Adrien through.
Tumblr media
Non sequitur: Congratulations to Nathalie for being one of the most competent Akuma; having a genuine goal, as well as being linked to Monarch himself and with someone dear to protect, her battle with Ladybug and Chat Noir, later Mister Bug and Lady Noire, had pushed them to their edges. And it is only because Chat Noir/Mister Bug knows Nathalie intimately that Safari was able to be defeated. Otherwise, a less familiar Ladybug and Chat Noir would've met their doom that day.
I also immensely enjoyed the segment of Chat Noir protecting Venomed-Ladybug, a sequence of pure action that has grown in increasing scarcity since the conclusion of Season 1 and 2.
Tumblr media
Gabriel did not start off Season 5 as the most rewarding of fathers, his blatant disregard of Adrien's wellbeing for four seasons reaches its peak when the audience is forced to confront with the fact that while Gabriel most certainly views Adrien as an extension of himself, he does not seem to see Adrien as an autonomous being and only as a commodity. And with new Tsurugi technology at his disposal, what he requires from Adrien is not even his action but simply his image.
Discussions of dystopian futures, imaging rights, and self-possession aside, this kind of callousness culminates in Adrien's state of disarray in episode Jubilation, a slump which he is only shot out of with the arrival of a new villain.
Tumblr media
In this season, Gabriel is climatically advancing towards his doom, with multiple subjects such as the end of his goal, his loss of long-standing allies, and his new Cataclysm-ed body in the mix, perhaps the long standing fan-theory that Lila Rossi will become the next evil wielder of the Butterfly Miraculous may be finally confirmed with the finale of this season. Nevertheless, it is clear that Gabriel's time is coming up, and he seems to be ticking off all the boxes of his bucket-list before doing so, including spending time with his son, and enforcing all his might into finally gaining the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous, not only to revive Emilie, save himself and Nathalie, but to ensure that Adrien does not end up alone at the end of it all.

Pairing: Chat Noir X Reader
Warnings: NSFW, characters are aged up in college here :), swearing.
Tags: Sub!chat, Dry humping, begging.
This is how it all went down. He saved you from an akumatized villain. He flirted. You flirted back. Then you guys started hooking up.
You didn’t understand why Chat Noir would do this with a civilian but like every other person on this planet, he has his needs. He would knock in a pattern on your window so you knew it was him and you would let him in, you’d talk for a bit, ask each other about your day until one of you breaks and pushes the other on the bed or against the wall. He was good in bed. Very good. You knew you’d never grow tired of this affair. To top it all off after you both finished you’d sit in bed and talk about all sorts of things. Aliens, Conspiracy theories about the media, gossip about people and sometimes he’d even play Mario Kart with you.
There were no strings attached. You both made it clear from day one. There couldn’t be. You both didn’t have the time for a relationship, you both didn’t have the energy for one so you simply stuck to the title ‘fuck buddies’ until one of you decides to back out. This night was different though. A smile didn’t appear on your face when you hear the familiar knock on your window because you were stuck cussing at your computer screen and rubbing your head in frustration. You had an essay to explain Shakespeare and his works but for some reason you kept deleting all that you’ve typed because you couldn’t put your thoughts into words.
He knocked again, quickly this time. “I know you’re there, beautiful.” His voice was muffled through the glass.
You huffed and put your laptop on the bed before stomping to the window. You opened it and were met by the hero grinning at you. You, on the other hand, didn’t have a pleased look on your face.
“I’m not in the mood Chat.” You state and were about to close the window again but he held it to stop you from closing it.
“Ma Belle, did I do something wrong?” He asks, a frown on his face.
You shake your head. “No, I just have this stupid essay that I’ve been trying to type out for the past four hours.” You sigh and make your way back to your bed, rubbing your temples.
He follows you inside and closes the window behind him.
“Maybe I can ease your stress for a little bit.” He says, a smirk on his face.
You simply shoot him a glare and he chuckles nervously, putting his hands up in defense.
“Okay. No sex. Got it.” He sits beside you and looks at what you’re typing.
“You know you can leave right? If you’re horny you can go to your other side bitches.” You say as you type away, your eyes glued onto your screen.
Chat purses his lips, like he held himself back from saying something and shook his head.
“Maybe I came here for some company.” He says.
You snort and chuckle. “Yeah right.” You say sarcastically and look at him, but he wasn’t smiling. You gulp and your smile fades away. Did he seriously come over because he feels lonely?
His face was leaning closer to your and you were leaning closer too. No. You had to finish this stupid essay.
“Stop distracting me kitty.” You whisper and kiss his nose quickly before looking back at the screen.
He groans and falls back on the bed, playing with the pillow.
“I can help you if you’re writing about Shakespear, I wro-“ He stops himself from talking and you turn around, quirking your eyebrow at him.
“You wrote an essay like this?” you questioned.
He visibly gulps and shakes his head.
“Do you go to college?” You question further.
He chuckles nervously. “You know I can’t tell you that mon ange.”
You stare at him for a moment before looking back at your screen. You decided not to pry further, he seemed uncomfortable talking about his personal life and you decided to respect his wishes.
Your phone started to ring and you see that it’s your friend from college Marinette. You pick it up.
“Hey Mari.” You say as you type.
“The deadline has been changed to next week!” She exclaims happily.
You were filled with rage.
“what?” You deadpanned.
“Yeah apparently some students asked to change it because they were having difficulties so he changed it to next week instead of tomorrow morning.”
“I literally asked him to extend the deadline three days ago and he refused. I swear to god I want to kill this son of a bitch” You groan and clutch your fist in anger.
She sighs, “I know girl, but hey at least you’ve got more time on your hands!”
Marinette always tried to be positive when she could and you appreciated that but honestly you needed to vent. “Yeah, thanks for letting me know Mari.”
“No problem! Bonne nuit.”
“Bonne nuit.” You sigh out before you end the call.
You groan out in frustration and shut your laptop.
“What happened?” Chat asks.
You get out of your bed and start to pace around.
“I have been working on this essay for the past four days, knowing very well how stupid it was that the deadline was only five days for a two thousand word essay on fucking Shakespeare and when I ask to extend the deadline, the son of a bitch replies with an angry email saying theres enough time and that im just lazy.” You finally breathe and chat was about to say something but you cut him off.
“But when his privileged French pupil ask him to extend the deadline of course he agrees and you know what, I think it was Adrien fucking Agreste who asked him because hes the fucking pretty model boy who has everybody on their knees for him just because of his high status.” You sit down and without realising you start talking about a different subject.
“Yeah, I get it, everybody wants to fuck the pretty blond guy with money, I would too but at least I don’t look like a thirsty bitch every time he talks to me, some girls in my damn college have literally no chill and I swear to god one day I want to make him my bitch, make him weak for me to show those bitches what i’m capable of.” You were breathing heavily at this point and your face was flushed red.
You always thought Adrien was attractive, everyone did but whenever he talked to you, you responded normally to him unlike other people who constantly laughed at everything he said to try and get in his pants. He was a good guy but he was too well known for his own good and it made you uninterested in him. You thought he was out of your league, that’s what those french bitches told you at least. They belittled you just because you’re foreign - you knew they were just jealous that Adrien was always the one to come up to talk to you unlike them.
That was enough ranting for now. You look at Chat who was staring at you wide eyed, his cheeks glowing red.
“You don’t need to say anything, it’s just-“ You look down at his body and notice something. “Chat..why are you hard?”
He crosses his legs over the other awkwardly to try and hide it. “W-What are you talking about?”
You stand up and walk over to him and he walks back until he’s pressed against the wall.
“What? You get hard thinking about me making someone weak?” You whisper to him and he looks away from you. “You want me to do the same to you kitty?” You kiss his ear and he shudders, nodding slowly. Your hand moves down from his chest to his belly and your lips move from his ear to his jaw. Chat tilts his head back and a frenzy of purrs emerge from his parted lips. He was aroused, in a state of euphoria even with your small, light touches. Your hand moved lower until it reached down to the tent he had in his suit. It was painfully tight for him. Your fingertips lightly brushed over the bulge and he cussed under his breath.
“Fuck.” He whispered while you continued to touch his clothed erection and lick up his neck. He kept purring and moaning at the same time. You loved seeing him worked up like this. Your lips latched on to a certain spot on his neck and you sucked on it harshly, nibbling at it when you got the chance and putting more pressure with your hand against him.
He was a mess, grinding against your hand and breathing heavily.
“Ma Belle – merde,” he couldn’t even speak without stuttering. “I want more, please.” He begs and you look up at him, noticing the red mark on his neck and feeling very pleased with yourself.
“More what, kitty?” You whisper and remove your hand from where it was.
He groans in frustration.
“More – I-I want you to touch me more.” He pleads. “Please.”
You smirk at him and pull him to your bed, pushing him back on the bed and getting on his lap. Before he could react you put your lips on his and start to grind on top of him.
He moans against your lips and throws his head back, holding onto your hips for support. You could tell that he wanted to take his clothes off but you wanted him to come right then and there.
Your hips move against his, the friction pleasing you the same, causing you to moan but grin at the worked up blond beneath you.
“Shit, shit I’m close.” He whimpers and closes his eyes, moving his own hips with yours to get more pleasure.
It felt so good but you knew you couldn’t finish with him, maybe you could continue after but your hopes disappeared when you heard the beeping coming from his ring.
“Mon Ange I-“
“Shut up and come for me kitty.” You groan out and quicken your movements causing him to part his lips and hold onto you.
His body shakes and he spews out cuss words in French while he comes undone, thrusting his hips up and whimpering.
You’re both breathing heavily, looking at each other both dazed and tired. You were about to lean in for another kiss but his ring starts beeping furiously.
You hop off of his lap and watch as he groans while he gets up, uncomfortably moving because of the mess he made between his legs.
“I’m sorry I cant finish you off.” He says, pouting at you.
“It’s okay Chat, I think you’ve done enough today.” You wink at him and he chuckles bashfully.
“Until next time Mon ange!” He says and opens the window.
“Bye Kitty.” You blow him a kiss and with that he’s off.
Maybe you could actually finish yourself off to the thought of him being a mess for you but before you could even do anything, your phone beeps and you see a notification from Adrien Agreste.
 “Did you hear that they moved the deadline for the Shakespeare essay? Pissed me off tbh.”
It was like he knew you accused him of something and to top it all off this was the first time he’s ever really texted you. It was weird but maybe you shouldn’t think much of it. Right?

A Chloe AU that leads in to Canon Miraculous!
So, I’ve had this idea in my head recently for an AU... well, it leads in to canon, so maybe AU? I’ve always been curious to Chloe and Marinettes history. they didn’t get along before origins, and while there are many reasons, i had one idea of what if they had been friends but something happened... which led to this idea of what if Marinette and Chloe had become friends.  In this AU, Chloe and Marinette met in class and seeing her lonliness and social awkwardness (something they shared at the time) Chloe and Marinette became close friends, by the time they reached canon time they were best friends, CHloe was different, much nicer, and closer to everyone. She still wanted to be popular, and she had bad habits brought on by being a rich girl, but through Marinettes influence, and help getting over her parental issues she saw Marinette as a sister, and Tom and Sabine as more her parents due to house rules, care given through sleep overs. Chloe supported Marinettes drive for fashion, and introduced her to Adrien during her times with him, and they became friends earlier, so when he finally came to school it was smoother.
Alya became a close friend too, and Sabrina, while still subservient was one of the friends group more than a Chloe fangirl.
The umbrella scene still takes place as Marinette still forgets her umbrella, and Adrien lends her his.
As they were already friends, she knew him less as the famous model, and had not seen him as happy as he had been in a long time, especially since he lost his mother.
When their hands touched, she felt something, but tried not to, as she knew her best friend had been crushing on him for a long time.
Chloe becoming a fan of ladybug becomes a big thing in their friendship, and like with Alya in canon, it grew increasingly difficult to keep the secret. Being Queen Bee was a highlight, her sense of heroism was more inclined than her popularity, as she felt the desire to protect Marinette, her pseudo family and other friends. She even sought advice from Marinette and revealed the secret only to her, not knowing she was Ladybug, and she advised her to speak to ladybug and return it. Though it scared her a little tat she would never get chosen because she still wasn’t as nice as she could be, even planning to cause an accident she could solve to prove she was a worthy hero; an idea Marinette shot down quickly, and assured her she would be accepted as a hero if she just showed her honesty, and was herself.
Personally, things took a bad turn when her mother returned, sending Chloe in to a spiral of doubt and self-hatred that she wasn’t ‘good enough for mom’. Though she was assured she was fine as she was, her feelings for Adrien were becoming more complex, his rejections, and attempts to maintain their friendship had begun to be compared to his friendship with Marinette.
Chloe started realising Marinette had begun acting weird around Adrien since he came to school, despite being friends with him, she thought nothing of it, as Marinette would be weird at times, and she HAD been acting strange, with disappearing and spending less time with her.
Marinette, trying not to fall for adrien, was more open, as Ladybug, to Chat Noirs advances, though it still took sometime, and eventually she accepted Chat’s feelings, though they remained devout to holding their identities back until shadowmoth was defeated, after Chat kept repeatedly getting in to harm way to protect her, she feared he would do the same outside his powers.
Marinette felt guilty, as she still held feelings for Adrien, despite not wanting to give in to them it was obvious to Alya and others that she had a crush on him. When the girls confronted Marrinette, Chloe laughed, thinking it was a joke, but in the end it ended in a big fight as Marinette confessed she did, and she tries to apologize to Chloe, but their friendship became strained.
Chloe decided to ‘get ahead’ and asked Adrien to be her boyfriend, but his rejection hit her hard, and her old feelings ended up getting her akumatised for the first time (in this AU)
This led her to rekindle a lot of her old fears of abandonment, and loneliness, and she broke off her friendship with both Adrien and Marinette, both of them blaming themselves, as Marinette thought it was over her ‘betrayal’ and Adrien of his rejection. Ladybug ends up ending her relationship with Chat over this, and after a while, Adriens heartbreak is helped by Kagami, and Marinette gets comfort from Luka, and though they hold off on relationships for fear of being rebounds (unbeknownst to Kagami and Luka) they still end up breaking up again as Marinette realises she’s making the same mistake she did with Chat, and still loved Adrien, and Adrien still loved Ladybug.
After a few weeks, Zoe shows up, and having a sister helps restore Chloe, but she remains icy to Adrien and Marinette, who are now getting even closer faster over Chloes distance.
Still being Queen Bee, made it harder on Marinette, as she experienced her friend during missions, and the icy reception as a civilian.
Over time, Chloes Jealousy lessens, until she is akumatised again due to an outreach by Marinette and Adrien to try and fix their friendship leads to an argument. Ladybug chooses Zoe to be viperion.
The aftermath leads to Chloe feeling like she has been replaced again, but also leadnign shadowmoth to believe that the new bee holder may have been chosen because Chloe was Queen bee.
It is not long after that Chat and Ladybug, still a little wary over their breakup, and (the events of Ethemeral) reveal their identities, and start dating. And then seeing Ladybug and Chat Noir acting cozy again, a certain touch of each other, an almost casual gesture that only she had noticed between Marinette and Adrien made it click for her. She went crazy as all the flirtations between the two as heroes made it feel like they had been hiding this from her since the beginning, and had been going behind her back all along, and only now they had made it public in civilian side. She tries to mentally deal with it, but after a few days she snaps during a fight with an Akuma, seeing them both flirt, and work together so well, Queen Bee stuns them both, and Shadowmoth thinking she had turned, asks for the miraculous and she could keep her own. She takes them, and reveals their identities, but she doesn’t give them up, and Marinette pleads with Chloe to not do anything.
Chloe is’t listening though completely broken that in her mind the person she trusted most had taken her crush, and played with her for so long.
her final words to Marinette are ‘I wish we had never been friends’.
The wish is fulfilled, and the past changes, and no matter what their always seemed to be a barrier between her and Chloe, and Chloe had a dislike for Marinette that she couldn’t understand... and thus, their canon relationship...
----------------------
I know, its a weird idea, but its whats been in my head for a while. I hope if you read this all that you enjoyed it at least :)

Submitted Prompt: Harsh Facts
Prime Queen AU in which Marinette is taking the invasive prodding of Nadja and Chat Noir’s continious remarks of her “hopefully dating him” with more spite and rage, and asks questions that puts things in a different light.
———-
“Come on! Why don’t you just tell the truth?”
-
Nadja’s question reached Marinette’s ears, and she had to open and close her for a few seconds thanks to how utterly manipulative this was.
A feeling of rage and disgust starts to appear in her mind, at how this whole situation.
Neither Nadja or Chat Noir seemed to understand that she is not romantically interested in Chat Noir, or maybe, they didn’t want to accept that, believing that she was ‘hiding her real feelings’, and telling her to be “honest” with them and confess her love, with Nadja going as far as to bring a picture of her kissing Chat Noir, with no context of how it even happened at all.
They want truth, fine!
She will tell them plenty of truths, whether they liked them or not.
Taking a breath, her mind steeled.
“Fine, I will be honest then.”
She didn’t ignore the happy smiles of the two people besides her.
“Chat Noir.”
The boy in question perked up.
“How old are you?”
He blinked for a second, before bafflement appeared on his face.
Marinette’s face looked blank, with no hint of emotions, as she repeated the question.
“I asked, how old are you? Surely, for someone who wants to date me, you must be close to my age, right?”
Realisation slowly dawned at Nadja, Adrien and everyone watching the show.
“My age is ambiguous thanks to the Miraculouses, same with all the holders, which means that as long as we both don’t know each others’ ages, I will never date him, or any other superhero who works with me. Period.” She said.
And continued flatly, “That’s truth number 1.”
Marinette then held up two fingers.
“Truth number two; I think people need to realize something. I have never flirted with Chat Noir.” she held a hand to stop him from denying the facts.
“I bantered with him, because regardless of how I look like, I have a sense of humor, and I know that sometimes, loosening a tense atmosphere helps a lot with lowering the stress, but I am not stupid enough to goof off in middle of a battle. I know where the line is. That was all it was to me. A small banter to ease the mood. People are allowed to joke and be friendly without flirting. But apparently, this seemed to go over everyone’s head.”
Marinette’s eyes looked at the two harshly.
“If I knew that Chat Noir or other people would take my being nice as flirting and start making conclusions about my love life, I would have never, ever done that, easing the mood be damned.”
She now raised three fingers.
“Third fact; this image of me kissing Chat Noir has had the context purposefully removed. And since it has been removed, then I shall make this clear. This whole kiss did not happen because I wanted it to. I didn’t want to kiss him at all, even with the circumstances. Chat Noir was at that time brainwashed by an akuma that made him hate everything, and was fighting against me, with the intent of using his Cataclysm on me. I didn’t have much time, and it was only a spur of a moment decision caused by a stressful situation that I was literally gambling on it to work. If it didn’t I would have been Cataclysmed and we would have lost then and there, and I would have been dead. I didn’t want to kiss him, and I regret it, because I was still violating his boundaries even if he was mind-controlled, but if you seem to have no problem with that, Chat Noir, then that just makes me more adamant on not liking you. I did not choose to kiss you, I was forced to choose between kissing you to break your mind control, or being murdered by your Cataclysm.”
She didn’t care about the paling faces of Nadja and her partner, and knew that she must hammer the point home.
So she continued.
“Fourth; You may be under the assumption that I am obligated to be even here in the first place or to have others decide my answers for me. Well, no, that isn’t how this works. I am a person first, a hero second. I am NOT a celebrity, regardless of how many people think I am. And even if I am a celebrity, my decisions are mine to make. Not yours. You cannot just decide when I am being 'in denial’ about my feelings just because you think I and another person will be 'cute’ together.”
This time, she went and took the microphone from Nadja who was too shocked to be putting up any resistance.
“Oh, also about this whole 'Ladybug should date Chat Noir’ thing; I have to say to the entirety of Paris that I am disappointed in you if this was true. A living person is not an object who you decide their lives and who they 'deserve’ to be with. That’s a horrible thing to do. Please don’t be a creep. Always respect other people’s boundaries, respect their choices, their genders, their sexualities, don’t try to force people to date someone they tell you they don’t want to date. Don’t even force them to go out of their comfort zone if they didn’t want to. Because if you do, then I can never like you.
"And for you, Nadja Chamack, you should be ashamed of yourself. You call yourself a reporter, but you are lying to your fans and trying to force me to go along with your lies, harassing me to confess to romantic feelings I don’t have. You should be fired, because any real news channel that actually cares about the facts should refuse to touch you with a ten foot pole. Now goodbye.”
With her speech done, she returned the mic to a shaking Nadja, barely seeing Chat Noir looking like he saw a ghost, and then left without saying anymore.
-
There was a sense of liberation that was blooming in her chest, feeling content as she had pointed her grievances to the population of Paris.
Oh sure, she knew that this might cause an Akuma, but she felt that even if she didn’t air her worries, an Akuma might have appeared either way if she just left due to how invasive the whole thing was. Also, Akumas appeared literally all the time whether she had anything to do with them or not. It wasn’t her responsibility to make other people happy no matter how much they were hurting her. Other people’s feelings were their responsibility.
And maybe Tikki will complain to her due to how harsh she was, but for this one time, Marinette will not allow Tikki to change her mind.
Because Tikki isn’t Marinette, she isn’t the one who has to deal with the brunt of her partner’s undesired advances, or the pressure of the media.
No.
Tikki will have to accept Marinette’s choice in this matter.
Because while Marinette is Ladybug, the heroine who protects Paris; Ladybug is also Marinette, the girl who has to deal with the very real problems like harassment and unwanted advances from a partner she thought she can depend on, and now to find an adult she thought she could trust doing the exact same thing, harassing her and pressuring her on live television in front of the whole city. It’s infuriating.
If Tikki didn’t accept that and only wanted Marinette to be Ladybug, then maybe Tikki has to choose another holder to turn into a soulless machine.
Because Marinette will allow others to decide how she should feel towards her harasser for her.
Not even a thousand-years-old deity who keeps expecting her to never have negative emotions.

Like I did with you
So I’ve been procrastinating hard during my study break for my exams, but here have a song fic!
Ghost of you by 5SOS
Genius comments: The song tells the tale of a heartbroken lover who has lost his significant other – due to a breakup or even suicide/death – and is refusing to accept the fact that she is never coming back.
I didn’t feel like writing angst and whenever I hear this song I feel like ballroom dancing (and I have).
Also thank you to the lovely people on the Maribat discord server!
Ao3
The sequel ‘It started with a whisper’ is up!
————————
Gotham Academy implemented a new ‘Study Abroad’ program due to recent funding from a local humanitarian. This program gave the students of Gotham Academy a chance to study abroad in Europe and vice versa. Countries like Sweden, Greece, Germany, Ireland and more participated in the program; offering a multitude of high schools with many different courses.
And because of that very wealthy benefactor, his son got first pick on where he would like to study. This was 100% not a forced decision at all to subtly keep track of the happenings of Paris. With that the Ice Prince of Gotham took the City of Love by storm.
He had been at Collège Françoise Dupont for the past few months, and it’s been hell. The class he had been placed into was ripping apart at the seams. There were two students that the class gravitated towards; he observed some of the others meeting in secret, without the knowledge of their respective ‘leaders’.
The first student that held the majority of the class’ focus was Lila Rossi. She was a black hole with beady green eyes, who dragged who ever was in her reach to an agonising fate. Damian saw through her deceptions and rejected her flirtations. The students that followed her, ate up whatever lie she spat out. Rossi soon learned that lies about the Wayne family and Gotham wouldn’t fly with him.
“Really? You worked with Monsieur Wayne?” The pink clad girl, Rose, squeaked.
Damian had just walked into class on his second day at the hell hole and already regretted it. He shot a glare towards the large group, “Who ever told you that is severely misinformed. My father has never worked with a minor from Europe, due to potential rumours and allegations it could cause. It is not a threat but a promise if a lie of similar caliber is spread there will be a lawsuit.” And with that he walked towards his seat in the back, the Ice Prince had cast his decree, the class’ atmosphere had frozen over.
The second student was Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Those that surrounded her were Alix Kubdel, Chloé Bourgeois, Max Kanté, Lê Chiến Kim and the occasional secret appearance from Juleka Couffaine. They didn’t view Dupain-Cheng through rose coloured lenses, they were always grounded and opinions were respected. Damian, who was a loner without Jon at his side, was satisfied by himself; Marinette respected that and didn’t force him to socialise like Lila tried to.
So that leads us to this. He stood against a sidewall of the giant banquet hall, staring out at the crowd before him. Jon was walking to wards him with a can of sprite in hand. Jon had moved to Paris with him but had been placed into a different class. The boy who was the epitome of sunshine stuck around the Ice Prince, their friendship is an enigma to the Françoise Dupont students.
Jon’s face was flushed. He had just gotten a drink after dancing for the past hour. Tonight was the night of the Collège’s formal dance for their graduating class. Skirts of all colours and fabrics swirled, as their partners (majority of whom had matching suits) twirled them to the music.
Jon, gesturing to the crowd, asked him whether he was going to stand there all night or dance. Taking a sip of his drink a smirk appears on his face, “unless the great Damian Wayne is to much of a coward to dance.”
Here I am waking up
Still can't sleep on your side
Damian’s head snapped towards the taller boy, “Are you seriously using my ego to get me to dance?”
Jon raising an eyebrow, “Well?”
If I can dream long enough
The temperamental teen stormed off, grumbling about “Jon being as bad as Todd”. Scanning the room he search for a suitable partner, there was no way he would embarrass himself by dancing alone.
You'd tell me I'd be just fine
I'll be just fine
He spotted Dupain-Cheng stood off to the side, alone. She was draped in a layered white dress with black hemming. As he neared, he realised that the asymmetrical skirt was actually a light blush with her signature apple blossom flowers embroidered. She looked up at him and he straightened his stance, slowing his pace. Her sapphire eyes locked on to his, her bangs curled off to the side along with the rest of her hair in beach waves.
So I drown it out like I always do
She gifted him a small smile, a usual occurrence within her interactions with him. He offered his left hand, bowing his head slightly. “Dupain-Che—“ he cleared his throat, “Marinette. Would you do me the honour of joining me in this dance?”
Dancing through our house
With the ghost of you
Her eyes widened, not expecting the Arabian God of a teen before her to ask her such a question. She saw his temper during class during his spats with Lila and how he kept to himself without the presence of Jon. But here he was in a fitted Armani suit that made his green eyes glow, and hair messily slicked to the side. Marinette looked at his hand, glad that her makeup mostly hid her blush.
And I chase it down
“I am...” She paused to find the right word, “I am a bad dancer. It is better for everyone that I don’t participate.”
“I can think of nothing less appealing than an evening of watching other people dance.” A small gasp escaped from her mouth before she could stop it. She watched as his mouth twitch’s downwards before his facade returned with full strength. “If you do not wish, to I won’t force you. But if you’ll allow me I’ll guide you through the dance to make sure it isn’t an utter disaster.”
With a shot of truth
Marinette’s lips quirked, giggling as she took his hand, “Your funeral Damian.”
What had he gotten himself into?
The two entered the dance floor, taking up the dance support hold. Their dance had the basic steps of the waltz, with a promenade and many spins; some as a couple and some were just Mari. Damian soon found he enjoy watching the sparkles in her dress light up as she spun. It became even more enjoyable when he discovered that the dress was her own creation.
Dancing through our house
The two made quiet conversations during their dance. Damian pulled her closer by the waist as they repeated the basic steps, their bodies perfectly in tune with each other. “You are a fine dancer despite your protests”
With the ghost of you
Marinette tilted her head up at him, blinding him with a dazzling smile. Damian’s heart fluttered, the two always had a mutual respect but it seems to have grown into a fond appreciation.
From the tables scattered around the dance floor there was a blond, with his fist clenched. Lila had dragged him off of the floor as soon as Damian and Marinette made their debuts; together. The brunette was now off angrily gossiping to Alya and any other who’d listen. It was a hot topic between Lila and Alya that Marinette loved him, although now, as he watched her dance with Damian, he was unsure as to whether that was ever true. He sat there, glued to his seat, watching the spectacle before him.
Cleaning up today
Found that old Zepplin shirt
The two dancers didn’t notice that everyone had cleared off the floor to watch them. They danced in sync, no movement was made without the other following it. Adrien had realised awhile ago that even though he didn’t have romantic feelings for Marinette, he cherished her friendship. That relationship was now tarnished due to the path he took when he first revealed his knowledge of the deceptions. His father had forced him to keep Lila happy, even if it made him miserable.
You wore when you ran away
And no one could feel your hurt
He had lost her, and he was unsure as to whether he could gain any semblance of their relationship back.
We're too young, too dumb
To know things like love
Damian lifted his partner’s right hand and twirled her three times, they both were content within their own world. The two swayed before turning together and walking around the now open space.
But I know better now (Better now)
Marinette flushed as she realised what was happening around her, leaning towards her partner she whispered, “I think we’ve become an impromptu entertainment.”
Too young, too dumb
To know things like love
Too young, too dumb
Damian subtly gazed behind her seeing their peers in a circle surrounding them. He was on the inside looking out, and he wouldn’t trade it for the world. He whispered reassurances in her ear, he wished to finish the song before he released her from his embrace. The two drowned out their audience, focusing on each other and the beat of the song.
So I drown it out like I always do
Dancing through our house
With the ghost of you
And I chase it down
With a shot of truth
That my feet don't dance
Like they did with you
The melody slowly faded off as the last lines were sung. The two finished on a basic waltz step before swaying in each other’s arms. The music ends and there is silence, blood rushed to their ears and their breaths mingled.
The two stayed in the other’s embrace, face-to-face, staring. They broke out of their trance by clapping. Looking around Marinette saw many of her peers and most of the supervising teachers applauding their performance.
Their friends broke through the crowd, Jon patted Damian’s shoulder (retracting before he got bit) while Chloe and Alix pulled Marinette back to their table to discuss what Disney magic had befallen the couple. The bluenette glanced back at her partner, mouthing a silent goodbye.
The crowd dispersed but were still buzzing from their display. Marinette was bombarded with questions, not only from her friends, but from other students about her dancing with the demon. Her stuttered replies did little to quench the crowd’s thirst. Her face must be comparable to that of a tomato.
Damian, having noticed the building crowd and Marinette’s uncomfortable stance, broke away from Jon. The crowd parted like the red sea, unwilling to be the one to anger the Ice Prince.
He offered her his arm (to which she took) and escorted her out to the patio outside. She stayed entwined with him, as she looked out at the stray Parisian night; leaning her head onto his should. Here the two could breathe. Here the two of them could be their present selves, no ghostly facades needed. It seems they could drown out anything in the presence of each other.
Unbeknownst to them, Jon had recorded their dance, along with their previous and present interactions of that night. He thought for a second to use it as blackmail material but decided to just send it off anyways. Oh the chaos it caused.

Submitted Prompt:
One of the many, many blatant misogynistic actions Adrien stans do, along with giving a hundred excuse for Adrien’s clear harassment towards Marinette, is the constant excusing of Adrien’s actions in Chat Blanc, namely the fact that the moment he knew (thought) that Marinette is Ladybug, he instantly went to date her, instead of doing the right thing and warning his “partner” of the danger she was in.
After all, secret identities are secret for a reason.
And Marinette was very clear on why they can’t find each others’ identities, especially with a magical terrorist that can literally brainwash them if opportunity arose.
———————
So, Chat Blanc AU in which the same first events occur; Adrien seeing Ladybug’s silhouette exiting the room, finding the gift and with ridiculous jumps in logic, he thinks that Marinette is Ladybug, and promptly “confessing” his feelings to her, and she accepts without her knowing that the boy in front of her is her harasser, seeing only that her crush that miraculously returns her feelings, to the point where he is the one confessing to her.
Things go from there, as Adrien goes manipulating her from both sides as Marinette and Ladybug, enjoying how much control he is having on her, with none being the wiser to how he actually is.
Paris continues to ship Chat Noir with Ladybug, with her refusals treated as a joke or her “being in denial”.
And Marinette barely thinks negatively of him as Adrien, her crush on him and his “sad face/ sunshine boy face” make her unable to resist him.
Of course, this also causes him to use this chance to be even more lazy and predatory when donning the mask, knowing that his “girlfriend” won’t actually try to do anything, lest she will face consequences of him leaving in the most inopportunate time, leaving her with even more load on her shoulders.
Unfortunately for him, karma exists, and in this universe, he isn’t immune to it.
And ironically, it comes from Hawkmoth of all people.
Because while most people forget it, not all the akumas have direct physical abilities, some have Mind Control ones.
Like Princess Fragance, Malediktator, Oblivio, Simon Says, Dark Cupid, Darkblade…
And most of the time Adrien falls into the control of them due to his carelessness (and easily defeated by Marinette most of the time).
So it was just a matter of time that another mind-affecting akuma appears, and starts brainwashing people.
And it happens.
The city is in chaos, as people watch as their loved ones are controlled by the akuma of the day, feeling despair.
Adrien doesn’t care about that, and is only interested in “joking” with “his lady”, taking glee from her desperate face and her anger as she tries to both fend him off and take care of the latest victim of Hawkmoth.
And it’s too late for him to dodge an attack from the akuma, effectively having him under the akuma’s control.
It’s only few seconds after that he, under the control of the villain, starts attacking her.
The fact that she started getting violent with him after only a half-second of hesitation of seeing him controlled just speaks how much she no longer cares about him as a partner, and how depressingly used she is to this turn of events.
The shocker though, is not that he was even more careless that he was controlled this soon.
No.
It’s because with him under control, he no longer has any filter on his mouth and thoughts.
And instead of “Ladybug” escaping his mouth when he was attacking her, it’s “Marinette.
That alone is enough to shock her, and she barely evades an attack from the akuma, her face under the mask few shades whiter than before, as she realises the implications of what he said.
He knows.
He knows!
She doesn’t know how, or why, but somehow, her harasser knows her identity.
And that alone is more than enough to terrify her even more.
She was already becoming fearful of being touched from even her own parents due to his constant harassment.
She is no longer able to be hugged by her parents and friends so normally due to him.
Him knowing her identity means that she literally can’t allow him to be her "partner” anymore.
Who knows what he would do with that information? Or did he already have plans to manipulate her, and she has already fallen in one of them?
She gritted her teeth, not realising how her face contorted with rage and hatred, a feeling she had tried to suppress for so long it was slowly bubbling and escaping her.
This is enough.
No more being nice with him.
No more allowing him to keep his Miraculous.
She evades him again, throwing her yoyo against the akuma, binding them and using them as a club to throw away Chat Noir.
With barely a second of delay, she jumps at her “partner” who was staggered, and she reaches him just as he raised his hand activating his Cataclysm.
It’s easy for her to move his arm to attack some of the random rubble, and she uses her yoyo once again to throw the akuma, still bound, at him, knocking both into the ground once more.
Taking the akumatised object from the akuma, destroying it and purifying the akuma, she then drags Chat Noir into an empty alley, before moving to take away his Ring.
As she still didn’t use the Lucky charm yet, he was still in a trance due to the akuma’s magic, he didn’t even resist.
The sight of Adrien behind the suit is more than enough to make her pale as a ghost, and the implications of just how he abused his knowledge of her identity is now all the more obvious, and horror is impossible to hide. She feels lightheaded, faint.
But she won’t cry, won’t collapse, not yet, she still has a job to do.
Shaking, she summons her lucky charm, and uses the Miraculous Ladybugs to fix the damage dealt to the city, and immediately leaving him there, clutching the Ring to her chest.
She couldn’t look at him anymore.
But she knows, that this isn’t the end.
She still has to deal with him in class, to deal with the fact she is, much to her disgust and horror, his girlfriend.
How much she hates her crush on him.
All that effort and humiliation, all of that, and the person she believed to be different than Chloe was even worse than her long-time bully.
“No. I will no longer be nice to you, and I will never forgive you for manipulating or guilt-tripping me any longer.” she whispers as tears  threaten to flow from her eyes.
“And if I see you try to guilt me again into liking you…”
Rage mixes with sorrow in her heart.
“I will kill you. This is a promise. Adrien Agreste.”

Accidental Crime Boss Marinette
Okay so,, I have this AU in my head, right? (not surprised) and I’m lacking any real direction for it (still not surprised) but it basically goes like this:
Marinette moves to Gotham.
She’s drawn there for whatever reason and the kwami are saying something about balance and being a Guardian and her sacred duty and something but Marinette isn’t really listening. She’s too busy trying to find a shop front where she can open a bakery without having to worry about getting mugged every time she steps outside.
Chloé comes with her, obviously, because they’re friends and Chloé has a business degree she puts to good use actually running Mari’s bakery and online boutique while Mari gets to bake and fuck around basically. Adrien, Luka and Kagami are not there, but that’s mostly because they travel too much to settle down and keeping an empty apartment in Gotham is just asking for trouble.
Kagami is a world-renowned fencer and Luka travels the world for his music company. Not touring, but soaking up cultures and ways of life so he can make soundtracks to movies and tv shows. Providing the background and life to a film is more his style than touring the world ala his father, Jagged Stone.
Adrien is having the time of his life being Kagami’s trophy husband. He has no pressing responsibilities he doesn’t take on for himself and he gets to fuck with the world’s elite with little to no consequences. He spends most of his days donating far too much money to charities and orphanages and then causing minor scandals that land him on the cover of magazines.
He has much the same kind of ‘dumbass with a heart of gold’ persona to the media as Bruce Wayne does, only without the playboy bits.
(There is a wall in the back of the bakery, where Chloé and Mari carefully cut out and frame every headline and ridiculous picture Adrien has. He is very much delighted when he learns about his ‘wall of fame’.)
Anyway, Marinette finds herself with a bakery not overly far from crime alley, much to Chloé’s chagrin.
(“What do you mean it ‘just felt right’?! I swear to kwami, DC, you’re going to get us robbed and sold into slavery.”)
They do not get sold into salvery.
In fact, despite their less than stellar choice of locale, they do pretty well for themselves. The only problems they have (according to Chloé) is the army of children Marinette accidentally attracted.
When asked, Marinette tells everyone that it was an accident. Meanwhile, Chloé, standing behind her, will shake her head and insist there was literally never any other option for them the moment that first kid came in looking to nab some cash and a few pastries.
Mari lives by the phrases, ‘kindness breeds more kindness’ and ‘do unto others’ and all that other nice person shit. Chloé just lets Mari pseudo-adopt her strays and makes sure that they don’t steal anything too important in the time it takes her to gain their loyalty.
The kwami stay staunchly out of any arguments involving the kids (and eventually the homeless all along their street and every working girl in a five-block radius). They do so with a special brand of amusement that never means good things for either of them. (After all, the last time the kwami looked that amused, they moved to Gotham.)
The first kid is named Serrure, as Marinette comes to learn over the next month after he returns again and again, getting closer and closer like a feral cat. Other kids come during that time, all of them too small and too thin and too guarded for Mari's tastes. She wants to wrap them all up and tuck them into bed but she can’t. She has to be patient, has to be gentle. These kids are just as likely to bite her hand as they are to accept help.
Serrure becomes an almost permanent fixture at the bakery after that first month. Mari’s not quite sure what she did to get through to him, but she did, she supposes. He can’t be much older than eleven and looks nine, but after getting settled, she and Chloé discover this little slip of a boy is just as mischievous as Trixx and has all the dramatics of their favorite black cat.
The kwami, when talking about him, only refer to Serrure as Loki, even after Marinette scolds them for it. She eventually gives up trying to correct them, it’s not like Serrure talks to them anyway(yet)((that she knows of)).
There’s an apartment above the bakery, which is where Chloé and Mari and all her strays that grow to trust her enough live. It’s three bedrooms, and at first, Mari just buys as many bunk beds as she can fit into the spare room and calls it a day. The kids feel safe in her home, which isn’t too surprising. Everyone thinks the bakery feels safe, feels like home or comfort or whatever else eases their minds.
And Marinette should hopes so. She certainly put enough time and effort and magic and energy into the wards around this place for that to happen. To protect her and the children and all her strays that no one else will help.
But, she eventually amasses too many kids to fit into the one room. Chloé throws a fit about having to share with Mari again—“I had enough of that in university thank you very much”—but she relinquishes easily enough.
Mari buys more bunk beds, and Serrure has taken to sneaking into her room to curl up in her bed anyway, and sometimes the smaller kids who have nightmares will come in and pile on as well.
(There are only a few that Chloé will allow to do the same with her. It is considered a high honor and breeds a playful kind of jealousy that Chloé finds amusing. Mari scolds her for pitting the kids against each other.)
That only lasts them another two months.
“This is getting ridiculous,” Chloé tells her one day before the kids wake up. Mari is at the stove, cooking and baking for a small army while Chloé balances the books. “There’s not enough room for us all, DC, and the only reason someone hasn’t come barrelling down on us about the abundance of children is by the grace of your absurd amount of luck.”
“Well I can’t just kick them out, Queenie! What do you want from me?”
“Either we need to buy more real estate in this city—which I’d rather not do—or you open up the grimoire and start building pocket dimensions. I know you can. I’ve read the chapter.”
Marinette looks at her. “That is such a bad idea.”
They do the idea.
And then Mari adds about a thousand more wards to the bakery, carved into the wood and counter and anything that’s a permanent fixture. Doorways become particularly ward heavy, what with them being the entrances and exits to the hidden realms and children’s’ rooms.
The apartment above the bakery isn’t quite infinite but it gets pretty damn close some days.
This also means, of course, that all the kids definitely know about magic now. Some of them—Serrure—have known about it for a while she knows, but it’s different now. The kwami followed her around most of the time and she doesn’t keep them trapped in the Miracle Box like Fu did, but now that the kids know, they don’t bother staying hidden.
The children, at least, love them and the kwami adore them with all the ferocity a god can give. After Chloé gets over her ‘ew children’ phase, she throws herself into their education (on top of actually running the businesses Mari keeps, mind you). She has the help of the kwami, who act as personal tutors to the children, and it’s not long before the kids start to joke about her being the Principal.
(Some tried to call her Warden, but that joke didn’t last long.)
Marinette has also been telling the kids bedtime stories ever since this started. Old stories of the Guardian and Chosens who fought back the darkness, she shares all she knows of the Orders history with these kids and it’s not until Wayzz points it out to her does she realize what she’s doing.
“Ladybugs are known for renewal. It is no surprise that you are rebuilding what was lost.”
Rebuilding the Order using children was certainly not her intention but, well. She supposes there’s no place safer for her kids than what is shaping up to be the new Miracle Temple. It’s the only haven where they can learn to harness their Gifts and powers, it’s the only place where they can be surrounded by others like them without being thrust into superhero-dom.
Context: about a month into this whole circus, Marinette had realized there was a significant—almost all of them really—amount of metas and Gifted in her little hoard of strays. Which is… odd. Especially with how few metas there are in Gotham.
She had asked the kwami about it, and they have that amused look again. “You are their guardian.”
“Excuse me?”
“You’re their guardian. True, you are the Guardian of us, of the ancient ways, but you are a guardian at your soul too. You protect what is yours, and they are yours whether you realise it or not. The children can sense that, so they flock to you.”
And, huh. She supposes that makes sense but that’s also really kind of strange and weird and she doesn't want to think about that anymore actually.
So things are… fine, Marinette supposes. The bakery is doing well, and she has about two dozen-plus helpers running around underfoot to help tend to the customers or run to the store or help in the back with the baking. And every kid of hers has new clothes, their street things thrown out for being too ragged and replaced with something fresh made by Marinette’s own hands.
She embroiders little fairy wings into the clothes normally, because that’s what her cloaked wards look like most times and the kids like it and its technically the logo for the bakery and there’s a million reasons she does it.
It is, perhaps, her first mistake.
(“It was certainly not your first,” Chloé will snark one dayin the future.)
Because now Marinette has an army of magical children learning to wield their powers and not fear them and they’re all wearing what can be considered her insignia and uh oh, it looks a lot like Mari is some sort of up and coming mob boss who uses kids and prostitutes and the homeless as runners. People on the street start calling her the Pixie, start referring to Chloé—her second in all things just as Chat had been her equal—as Wasp, as Yellowjacket, as the Unseelie.
(They cannot seem to pick a name for her, but Pixie is all but engraved in stone. Mari is not sure who coined it, and she doesn't think she wants to know.)
The first time the whole situation is brought to her attention, she punches the idiot who dared even imply such a thing so hard she knocks him out.
Because look. The kids are hers right? And she watches out for the people near her, makes sure the working girls are treated as well as they can be and offers the homeless extra food and a dry place to wait out the storm. She offers her hand and gives them all a place to rest, to eat, to exist without expectations or consequences.
She does that because she’s kind, because it hurts her to see people in need, to see them suffer, not because she’s hoping to gain something from it.
The fact that most of them repay her in gossip or information or bend her ear about the newest goings on in the corrupt elite or filthy underworld is strange, yes, but it’s nice to know what’s going on in the city, she supposes. And one time, Kathy, who works on the corner of Brookes and Gilmore, warned her of a drug raid that saved her an unnecessary trip to the police station so it’s not like it doesn't have it’s uses.
But mostly, Mari doesn't really think about all the information that’s unintentionally or otherwise passed onto her. She remembers it all, because it’s rude not to listen when people talk to her, but nothing comes of normally.
Not until Serrure—now twelve and well versed in the magic of illusions and glamors and knows almost as much about this city as her or the Bats—bursts into the bakery one day and grabs Mari away from the front counter right in the middle of a customer ordering. She should, perhaps, be a little angry at that but Tony, one of the older boys and just shy of sixteen, steps into her place almost immediately, so.
And then Serrure speaks and everything is pushed aside in favour of the next words to fall from his lips.
“Someone took Sophie,” he says and she nearly sees red.
After Serrure, Sophie has been here the longest. She is the youngest of them all, only seven, but oh so clever and kind and while she looks nothing like her, everyone calls her Mini-Mari. If Serrure is her beloved first son, Sophie is her treasured daughter.
She’s out the door in the next moment, storming her way to their base. She has Sophie and a handful of extra kids back by sunset, a little frightened, but no worse for wear. She doesn’t make a big deal out of it, besides making sure that the idiots who dared cross her never do so again, but word gets out.
Soon, her kids and teens and adults begin giving her more than just information, they begin giving her problems. Ones she’s meant to fix because she’s Pixie. She’s safety, she’s protection, she’s the one the people start to turn to for help.
And enter stage left, one Jason Todd who’s all snark and charm and smiles wrapped up in a nice leather bow and tall enough that Mari likely could climb him like a tree. If that was something she wanted, she guesses.
(She wants. She just won’t admit.)
He becomes a regular at the bakery and befriends most of her kids.
Mari’s wary when he first takes an interest in them. They’ve been hurt and a lot of them are still adjusting to being safe and it doesn't matter that this man is hot enough to burn, if he steps even a toe out of line with her kids she’ll make him wish he was never even born.
But, she stops worrying eventually. The kwami like him well enough, but seem to think something’s odd about him—but its Gotham, who isn’t strange?—and both Serrure and Sophie take to him like ducks to water and they’re both good judges of character.
There’s a certain intuition they both have that reminds Marinette just a bit too much about herself and pure magic. Not for the first time does she wonder if they got such strong magic from their parents or if it cropped up in them randomly, fostered by fortune and chance and the magic that’s so deeply seeped into the bones of her bakery it’ll be here long after she’s gone.
And, okay, so she was a little right to be wary because Jason was mostly there to investigate her. Far too many people respect her and are loyal to her and she has a veritable orphanage in her pocket and also Harley and Ivy like her and it just- it doesn’t look good right?
But Jason’s a good detective and it doesn't take him long at all to see that Mari is just as sweet and kind and loving as she appears to be. Not long after that, Red Hood declares Pixie and all of hers, under his protection. She, of course, is more than capable of taking care of her and hers, and the underworld knows this, has seen it, but he does it anyway.
The news, of course, gets back to Mari and she is… confused. Why would the Red Hood do something like that? She’s heard talk of him being sweet on kids, but to claim her? They’ve never even met.
Bonus points for Jason being there when she’s told about it. He kind of raises his eyebrow at her because, huh, that was fast, and then spends the next few minutes talking up the Red Hood to her much to her utter bafflement.
He actually keeps doing that too, talking up the Red Hood. Mari thinks he has a crush on the man for the longest time because of it. Until he reveals he is Red Hood, then she just wants to punch his stupidly handsome face for being such an idiot.
Shit happens from there and things go down and the two spend a couple of months dancing around each other and intentionally and unintentionally ruling the criminal underworld and at one point Marinette definitely punches Bruce and Batman in the face—separately, much to Jason’s unending joy—and she also definitely adopts Duke/Signal as well because that poor boy needs to know he’s not alone.
And it’s just them being domestic and badass and lowkey raising an army of children and falling in love while the kwami and the kids and Chloé are all in the background just yelling at them to get together already!
Which, they do. Eventually. After all the secrets come out and Jason knows about the magic and Order and meets Mari’s other friends, ie Kagami, Luka and Adrien who are all intimidating for wildly different reasons. And Mari finds out that Jason died and came back (which earns him the nickname firebird btw) and that he was a Robin once upon a time but is now Red Hood and oh my kwami it all makes sense now.
Jason confesses like three times via classic Victorian romance novel quotes because he’s a fucking literature nerd but it’s not until he basically spells it out for Mari does she really understand. it’s all very sweet and heartwarming and then the pair duck into one of the empty pocket dimensions they have lying around and aren’t seen for three days.
(No one really goes to look for them tbh)
Chloé definitely teases them about early honeymoons and things but besides the two being even more ridiculously lovey-dovey than usual, life goes back to normal. Or as normal as it gets for them.
And they all live happily ever after the end.

Alya and Secrets
So I started making a post about Alya and secrets a little while back, but after Sentibubbler I put it off as I wasn’t sure, however after Rocketear I feel as if it still stands.
Sentibubbler revealed to me that yes Alya can control things by herself, is loyal to Marinette and wouldn’t reveal her secret easily. I never wanted to insinuate that she ever would, but now after Rocketear, I feel as if my belief that Alya will make a mistake with the secrets department. Alya has told Nino about Rena Furtive when Marinette had firmly told her not to, knowing of Marinette’s fears and her position as Ladybug.
Alya decided to tell Nino everything because she doesn’t like keeping secrets from him, her relationship has never been like that. Her role as a journalist is to seek the truth as well. She is not comfortable with keeping secrets, and I don’t blame her for that, I think it’s actually very commendable. What I don’t agree with is that she has gone against Marinette. The repercussions could be dire, like what happened in Optygami, or it could cause a huge rift in their friendship. In Sentibubbler Marinette was afraid that all of her secrets would get out and that she would be betrayed by Alya. I believe that she will still have a “betrayal” by Alya (also by Chat, but that’s a different post). Then in Gang of Secrets she was afraid of telling Alya everything could change and potentially destroy their relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rocketear also highlighted again why Marinette keeps secrets. We see it breaking her relationships throughout this season; she is making sacrifices to those she cares about because of the role she takes on and the stakes as Ladybug and is breaking her and potentially all of her relationships, whether that be with family or other.
Rest lies below the cut, this is a long post
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her responsibilities are keeping her away from happiness, with her family, from her friends, and has also broken her chances for romance with anyone. I don’t think that is a coincidence that her family was brought forward and the fact of Marinette’s need/want to keep secrets will be tested with Alya. Marinette’s vehemence of keeping her identity a secret is also influenced by the events of Chat Blanc
Speaking of Chat Blanc, within this episode Bunnix explains briefly why she was chosen to be the bearer of the Rabbit miraculous and it was because she knows how to keep a secret. Alya has constantly been surrounded by the challenges of being Trustworthy. Key episodes this season being Sentibubbler, Gang of Secrets, Optygami and now Rocketear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel as if this has much more weight on it now after everything that has happened in this season so far.
Previously Alya has been shown how trustworthy she can or can’t be. In Puppeteer 2, Alya insists she didn't tell Nino about Marinette’s crush on Adrien when she clearly had.
Tumblr media
She clearly did tell Nino, or accidentally told him because otherwise there wouldn’t be the narrative of Alya and Nino trying to get Adrien and Marinette alone together etc.
I do trust Alya, but she has a recurring theme where there is too much emphasis on the word trustworthy which insinuates that this is a challenge for her character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alya can als be quite pushy. Like in Sapotis when she got too swept up, and Trixx planted the notion of becoming a permanent miraculous holder, but he was also the one to help her realise to prove herself trustworthy. Trixx and Alya can also be very hard to say no to, they have a persuasive attitude, but it can also make people realise things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alya can be very pushy when she gets swept up in “helping” Marinette get close to Adrien. Reflekdoll and Gigantitan always have rubbed me the wrong way with Alya’s role. In Gigantitan, Marinette wanted to help that woman up the stairs who had baby August in the stroller, Alya insisted for Marinette to stay, until the woman was really struggling and Marinette just went, and even then Alya was in her ear saying to hurry up as Adrien was coming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Alya just let Marinette be everything would have been fine. In all actuality, if Adrien saw Marinette he would probably help and it would start a lovely, genuine conversation considering he also wanted to help, but couldn’t. It’s in their blood to help. Both Marinette and Adrien earnt the miraculous because they were the only ones around who cared enough to help people.
In Reflekdoll it was both the fault of Marinette and Alya that Juleka went in on herself. Marinette didn’t allow Juleka to speak as she bombarded her with questions. Alya was pushing because of the time crunch and pushed Marinette and Adrien together, she had completely overlooked Juleka’s feelings as well. Marinette didn’t completely get blinded as she did try to double check that Juleka was alright.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alya can just be impulsive sometimes. Most of the time when she is told to stop, like in Sapotis when Marinette tells her to slow down in trying to find out Ladybugs identity, and then when Ladybug tells her she can’t tell anyone, Alya complies.
Being impulsive is what Alya has in common with Chat Noir with his self-sacrificial tendencies and emotions clouding judgement.
Tumblr media
She is aware of getting ahead of herself anyways
Tumblr media
Alya and Marinette are both making mistakes. Alya made a huge one in Optygami because her judgement is impared due to her emotions towards Nino. Marinette has made and is making a lot of mistakes. The huge ones are those which take time to surface, like what happened with Chloe and what is happening with Chat Noir. Marinette decided to reward Alya by giving her the miraculous permanently. I don't think she should have done that, at least not yet. It's a huge risk on top of another. Marinette knew from the beginning that Hawkmoth knew who the holders were, yet still decided to give them out to the same people, however with Chloe it was totally different. She should have been open with her in the first place.
Marinette has also always been super lenient with Alya as well, first with allowing Nino and Alya knowing their alter egos (although Alya knew of Nino in the first place), but again a huge risk really, as we saw in Catalyst, they got distracted, and their emotions getting themselves turned into scarlet.
Tumblr media
Although, I do understand that there was a time crunch.
Marinette often has a double-standard and bias when it comes to Alya. For instance, in Style Queen Marinette was going to give the Bee miraculous to Alya as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why!??? When Alya already had been using the Fox Miraculous. Ladybug’s decision to constantly not tell Chloe is what led to Miracle Queen. It was not fair. Sorry, there is no way I can really excuse that. She was so blind-sided by judgement in that decision.
However that has equally been counteracted by proving she is trustworthy, that she is loyal and also looks for the facts. Alya can also be level-headed like the approach of finding out who was framing Marinette in Ladybug.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She has been a big help for Marinette as well, as we see in Mr. Pigeon 72.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was a miracle in Sentibubbler as well! As she kept her cool and thought ahead. She still made a couple of mistakes like telling Chat Noir it’s a two person operation etc. Not her fault though. Nothing said in that moment would have helped.
Alya is definitely a huge asset for Marinette to have, by running ideas and taking some of the pressure off of her shoulders and ultimately being able to think for herself.
It all comes back to Bunnix in Chat Blanc as well saying she can keep a secret, so I fear what is to come. Alix has constantly been the one shown to have a rational head. Reverser being the big one, but also the little comments when with the girls like in Gang of Secrets and Gigantitan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a feeling that Marinette’s leniency with Alya may end up being a mistake. I do think it’s good some of her weight has been lifted, but now it seems she is being a little arbitrary. Alya we know has a huge target on her back. She may have saved herself in Sentibubbler, but now she has told Nino everything, against the wishes of Marinette. Although, Marinette says that she does trust Alya when Alya fixes things at the end of Rocketear.
I think Alya makes this decision as she is firm in her belief that secrets shouldn’t be kept when it comes to loved ones, especially those who are meant to be your partner (best friend, boyfriend/girlfriend). I also wonder whether this decision to tell Nino was also influenced because Marinette was easy on her after what happened in Optygami, thinking Marinette wouldn’t mind. Plus she got around it all in Puppeteer 2.
Marinette is actively going against her own beliefs (and what she was told by Master Fu) by utilising the same miraculous holders. I understand that she is the new guardian and she is making her own rules, but she also saw sense in keeping things secret, because of her own identity, and how she refuses to allow Chat Noir to know who the holders are as well. It is way too risky, whatever Marinette is up to. She is not allowing Chat Noir his right to know as much as she does; they are meant to be partners, but it doesn’t feel like that. That is all due to her fear of Chat Blanc and its events. She is now heavily reliant on Alya/ Rena Rouge. That is going to cause a huge rift once Chat becomes wise to their dynamic as we are seeing blatantly now in Rocketear.
What happens if Alya slips up again and it’s huge this time. What is the secret that Bunnix is referring to that makes Ladybug/Marinette realise that she is the one to be trusted with the Rabbit miraculous? When will that be? Will Marinette have a falling out with Alya after finding out that Alya told Nino that she was still working as covert Rena?
I think what Marinette has decided was untimely. These kids shouldn’t be dealing with this, but they are. They are feeling way too much and are still trying to learn about themselves. It is not fair. They are bound to make decisions. I just have this unsettled feeling that there is too much concentration around this topic to overlook. I don’t think that Marinette is going to be best pleased when she finds out that Alya has told Nino everything, especially after all that she has sacrificed with Luka and Adrien and as Rocketear stated about her family again. I think the pressure will get to her again.

Screw Feelings
Chapter 2
1 2 3
Warning coarse language and some sexual references
Marinette loved Adrien Agreste. She really did but it took a near death experience that wasn’t caused by an akuma to realise she wasn’t happy. And because the universe hated her of cause Adrien had decided that’s when he was going to ask her to marry him.
Paris had been holding their breath waiting for their favourite sweethearts of the fashioned world to announce their engagement. They’d watched an eighteen-year-old Marinette hold Adrien’s hand through all the uncomfortable interviews and press conferences after the discovery that Shadowmoth was his father. She’d been his strength in the darkest part of his life. So, no one especially Adrien had expected her to break up with him and leave the country indefinitely.
Marinette hated herself for hurting him but she needed to find herself. For some reason that she still wasn’t sure of, Gotham was where she was meant to be. By shear luck Chloe’s father had given his daughter a list of hotels she could buy as her twenty-first birthday present and number seven on the list was in Gotham. To seal the deal, it came with an exclusive night club called Lady Luck.
Marinette felt a weight lift of her shoulders when she’d stepped off Chloe’s privet jet. Gotham was gloomy, dark and cold but it was a new beginning after years of emotional turmoil from Shadowmoth’s reign. Paris held to many painful memories, and they had started to cast a dark shadow over Marinette’s soul.
This city didn’t need her like Paris had. It came with its own hero’s or vigilantes as they liked to be called. So, for once Marinette could just be Marinette and MDC. Oh sweety, if only it was that easy. There’s a saying, ‘once a hero always a hero’ as Marinette found out that morning in the coffee shop. And, Gotham was about to have a new sweetheart for one of its very own.
Paris wasn’t going to be happy.
“Who’s the guy?”
“Excuse me? Where’s the ‘hi, how are you Marinette?” Marinette grumbled as she walked out of the lift. Tikki flew out of her jacket and into the kitchen as she put her helmet and keys on the hallway table before turning to look at her friend. “Don’t you have a hotel to run or something?”
Chloe stood at the entrance to the lush very over the top penthouse with her hands on her hips. “Don’t you play cute with me DC. What the hell happened?”
“Ok Bee, it’s been an interesting morning and I’m not in the mood for guessing games, what are you talking about?”
Chloe pinched the bridge of her nose. “Don’t think I didn’t hear that arseholes demands before you hung up on me. You didn’t call me back. I was worried.” She snapped throwing her hands into the air then resting them back on her hips as she stomped her healed foot.
Classic Chloe move Marinette thought, deflating with guilt. It was just like the heiress to lash out rather than show her softer side. “Shit, sorry Bee. I’m ok, I just got a bit distracted after.” Wellp she wasn’t lying. Hot book guy was still on her mind, and she was more than a bit curious to see if he would turn up tonight. She didn’t even know his name but maybe that was part of the fun. She really didn’t have to be as responsible here and that was the whole point.
“Yeah, I saw that.” Chloe was watching her friend closely. She knew her better than her credit card details and that was saying something. Marinette was distracted and not by the armed man.
“Well can you blame me? Hang on back up, what do you mean you saw?” Marinette was completely confused. How the hell had Chloe known about her encounter with the hottie?
“You didn’t call me back.” Chloe crossed her arms and pouted her red lips.
“What’s that got to do with anything? What aren’t you telling me?” Marinette narrowed her eyes at Chloe. She had a feeling she knew what she was about to say, and she didn’t know how she felt about it.
“I called Max. He traced you to the coffee shop and hacked into all the cameras in the area. Turns out for a small coffee shop they have surprisingly good cameras.” Chloe answered studying her nails refusing to meet Marinette’s eyes.
Yep, she really shouldn’t have expected anything less. Her friends were crazy. “Oh. My. God Chloe. You can’t just go and do that. We’re not in Paris anymore. This isn’t our city.”
“I didn’t. Max did, and besides we’ve told you, we’re not going to lose you as much as it seems you have a death wish.” She shrugged like it was nothing. “So, who’s the guy and why did you tell him where you’d be tonight?”
“How did you even know what I said to him?”
“Max can lip read and I wanted to know what he said that made you blush.”
“Yep, how could I forget. Is normal really too much to ask for.” Marinette groaned and shook her head, walked over to the couch and flopped down. She loved her friends who were more like family at this point. They had all been through so much, very few people would ever understand. So, it wasn’t a surprise that Chloe would be overprotective, but this was some next level crazy shit, and she didn’t know how to process it right now.
“Well maybe you should think about that before you go throwing armed men around.” Chloe sat down next to her and raised her perfectly shaped eyebrow.
“Yeah, I know. I didn’t even think about it, was like I was on auto piolet or something. I thought getting out of Paris would maybe, I don’t know anymore. I just want to forget everything Bee and be normal.” Marinette hugged a fluffy cushion and sighed.
Chloe’s eyes softened, and she reached for Marinette’s hand. “I’m sorry, I guess we got a bit carried away.”
“You think? I get it though, Chloe. You’re worried about me. I know you love Adrien and you want us to get back together. I just can’t be what he wants me to be anymore. Trust me when I say, I’m not here to look for another relationship. I’m not ready for that. It’s just after everything that happened, I just need to live a little. What happened it was…
It was the wake-up call I needed. None of us know how long we have and if life throws a tall dark-haired stranger at me who am I to say no.” Marinette felt Tikki snuggle into her neck, and she let out a deep breath she didn’t know she was holding.
“Marinette, yes I do love Adrien like a brother, but I love you too and I want you to be happy no matter what. If getting your freak on is what you need right now than so be it.” Chloe smirked wickedly at her and wiggled her eyebrows.
Marinette nearly got whiplash at how fast this conversation had turned on her. She laughed and threw the cushion at the heiress. “Hey, that’s not what I said.”
Chloe put her finger on Marinette’s lips while still smiling wickedly at her. “Hush now, I may be gay but I’m not blind. It would be a crime to waist such a fine specimen. I’ll get you a room key.”
Marinette’s cheeks flushed red, and she buried her face in her hands. “You’re serious, aren’t you?” She mumbled.
“Trust me, you’ll thank me later.” She patted Marinette’s knee. “Ok, I really do have a hotel to run now, and you have commissions to work on before tonight.”
The girls stood up and Marinette threw her arms around her best friend. “I love you, Chloe. Thank you.”
Chloe gave her a gentle squeeze then pulled back to kiss her on the cheek before letting her go. “Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. Of cause you do Dupain Cheng. What’s not to love.” Chloe winked at her then turned to leave. “You should wear that backless bodysuit you finished the other day, the front says, ‘I’m a good girl’ but the open back with the touch of lace screams ‘whips and chains excite me.’”
Marinette staired at Chloe for a moment before she burst out laughing. This was not how she expected this conversation to go. In fact, if she was really being honest, this is not how she expected the day to go let alone her life.
~~~~~~~~~~>:<~~~~~~~~~~
Things between Jason and his adoptive father had been strained to say the least. For the most part Jason followed the Bats no kill policy, but a few weeks ago there had been an incident. The guy was scum, and the world wouldn’t miss him. Jason had checked after to make sure he didn’t have family. It wasn’t like Jason had a choice. Not one he was willing to make anyway.
They’d busted up a drug ring running out of a warehouse at the docks. It should have been easy. No big players had shown their faces but at least the drugs wouldn’t hit the streets. Someone had missed this guy and he was about to shoot Damian. Jason was too far away to intercept him and yeah maybe he could have thrown a batarang or warned the kid, but his gun was already in his hand. Unfortunately, the bullets weren’t bat issued rubber. These things happen sometimes, oops.
Jason got the Bats rules, he really did he definitely didn’t, but it was B’s flesh and blood, and he was still bitching about Jason using unlawful force to save his kid’s arse. Jason may not always like the kid, but he was still family, and he didn’t want to see him dead, again. Hell, the kid had already ticked that of his bingo card. Die once you get bragging rights, die twice you’re just fucken stupid.
So, Jason was surprised that B asked him to go with Dick tonight. They would have to go as civilians as Nightwing and Red Hood would stand out too much in a club. And this is when it came in handy that Dick was a cop other wise people would question why the Wayne family were looking into human trafficking.
Also, people were more willing to talk to pretty boy Dick Greyson. Some bullshit about his face and smile being less threatening than Jason’s. Even when they were dressed as their vigilante personas people were more comfortable talking to Nightwing. Anyone would think the Red Hood had gone on a killing spree and beheaded mob bosses. Oh, wait forget that last bit.
So, Dickie boy it was, while Jason kept an eye out. That was until things changed this morning. Now all Jason could think about was Pixie with her sass, cute French accent, beautiful blue eyes and don’t forget she could totally kick arse. He just had to convince Dick that after getting the lead they needed that they should stay for a few drinks.
Jason was hoping that he could use the excuse of brotherly bonding. Dick was a sucker for that shit. So, on the way to the club Jason had tried to sweet talk Dick into letting him off for the rest of the night.
“Hey Jaybird, I’m sorry bout this morning.” Dick said as Jason got into his car.
“Sup Dickhead. I think there’s a way you can make it up to me.” Jason smiled at his brother and tried to supress his laughter when he saw Dick’s hideous shirt. It was purple with bright orange and yellow flowers on it. “What the fuck are you wearing?”
“It’s called fashioned Jaybird. Steph gave it to me for my birthday.” Dick grumbled as he studied Jason for a moment. “Why do you look like you made an effort for once and why do you smell so damn good?”
“I think she was taking the piss outta you and your bad taste there buddy.” Jason snickered as he patted him on the shoulder. “And to answer your question I always look this damn good.” He straightened his black leather jacket and gave Dick a cocky grin.
“You know we’re working tonight, right? We need to get the info and get outta there. No time for flirting.” Dick glanced over at him before turning back to look at the road.
“Yeah, about that. So, I was hoping…”
Dick quickly cut him off. “Jay. No.”
“I’m going to have to disagree with you there Dickie and say, Jay yes.”
“No.”
“Yes. God damn it, just hear me out.” This conversation wasn’t going the way he wanted. He didn’t want to let his family down, but he wasn’t going to miss out on finding Pixie either.
“Ok Jay, what’s going on?” Dick used the ‘what’s Jason done now’ tone.
“I just thought we haven’t had a chance to just hang out for ages, so after you get what we need why don’t we stick around and have a few drinks.”
“Are you dying or something Jay?”
“Fuck no. You’re the one always complaining we don’t hang out enough.”
“Exactly. You hate just hanging out and you hate clubs. So, what’s really going on because I know you don’t smell that good for me.”
“Fine. I met someone today. I didn’t get a chance to get her name or number, but she did tell me she was going to be at Lady Luck tonight. Of all places.”
“Jason if it was any other night, I’d say yes but you know how long B’s been waiting to get his hands on this lead. He asked you to help and that’s something, seems he’s still pissed about the, you know dead guy.” Dick glanced at him again, his eyebrows raised.
“Yeah, yeah I get that but Dick. There’s somethin about this girl though. She’s amazing. I just need to get her number so I can ask her on a date then I’ll meet you back at the cave.”
“It’s not like you to get hung up on a girl. You’ve got me interested now. Details and I’ll see what I can do.”
Jason carefully thought about how much he should tell his brother. He wasn’t normally so open with his feelings when it came to his family. They were all so over the top and Jason hated how they made a fuss about everything especially any love interests. Dick was a die-hard romantic, but he also knew when not to push Jason and when to keep a secret.
“Ok, fine but if this gets back to anyone else and I mean anyone, I’ll tell B it was you that put the glitter bomb in the batmobile.” Jason poked Dick’s arm and frowned at him.
Dick nodded and held his hand over his heart. “Bats honour Littlewing.”
“You know that’s not a thing right.” Jason stated. He took a deep breath and started his story. “So, it all started this morning when I was in a coffee shop…”
“Oh. My. God. Jayjay it’s a coffee shop trope.” Dick almost squealed.
“I’m regretin this already.” Jason groaned running his hands down his face.
I had a need after talking about Adrien being left-handed/ambidextrous on the APS discord. So here’s a little fic snippet of Marinette finding out Chat Noir is ambidextrous because I really love this idea and now need more of it.
I might add this into one of my main fanfics later. -------------------------------------------------------------
“Do you have to stand over me like that?” Marinette grumbled, her pencil coming to an immediate stop. Chat stood over her shoulder, looking down at her open sketchbook. As soon as he saw her irritated expression though he backed away with a sheepish smile.
“Sorry, you looked like you were having fun so I wanted to see what you were drawing.”
She hid her fond smile by rolling her eyes. Chat’s curiosity was cute a lot of the time, but on occasion it was a little overbearing. Especially when she was trying to work on some of her designs. She eyed one of the pages she’d torn out of her book earlier, having already decided to scrap the design she’d drawn on it. Grabbing the page and a handful of colouring pencils, she thrusted them in his direction.
“Here, knock yourself out.” she said as she waved them at him. She’d meant it as a joke, to poke fun at how he was like a child that needed constant supervision and entertainment. But as she saw his shining green eyes widen in excitement she quickly knew he’d taken her seriously.
He hesitantly reached out for the paper and pencils, “Really? You don’t mind?”
“Uh...no. Not at all.” she answered awkwardly, now feeling a little guilty for trying to tease him as she saw his enthusiasm increase.
He took one of the magazines from her desk and promptly sat down on the floor next to her. Resting the page she’d given him on the magazine, he set to work colouring in the half finished sundress design she’d given up on. Her own curiosity stopped her from immediately going back to her own work as she watched him. Chat hummed to himself, the tip of his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth as he carefully coloured within the lines she’d drawn. As she watched the pencil meticulously move over the paper, she realised something she hadn’t noticed before.
“You’re left handed.” she stated with quiet amazement.
Chat’s head snapped up to face her, looking almost alarmed as he met her eyes. He seemed to almost shrink into himself then as his gaze settled back on the pencil in his hand.
“Oh, yeah. Sort of.” he murmured.
“Sort of? You’re literally using your left hand right now. How is that ‘sort of’?”
Chat let out a shy laugh as he used his right hand to rub the back of his neck, “I’m actually ambidextrous.”
Marinette stared at him in disbelief for a moment, “What? Seriously? That’s...that’s actually kind of cool.”
She pretended to not notice the slight pink in his cheeks as he ducked his head away, “I normally use my right hand most of the time. So it’s something people don’t really notice.”
“Why though? I mean, you weren’t always ambidextrous were you? Did you teach yourself or something?”
Chat suddenly looked a little uncomfortable as he gave a shrug of his shoulders. He passed the pencil he was holding from his left to his right, fidgeting with it as he tried to answer her.
“I used my left at first. But when I got older and started going through schooling my...my father said it was better if I used my right. He said it was cleaner and more professional.”
Marinette frowned, leaning forward in her seat as she tried to catch Chat’s skittish gaze, “You know that sounds really dumb, right?”
“It’s fine, really.” he answered hastily, “I mean, I’m able to use either hand for most things. I use my right hand usually, but sometimes I slip up and use my left.”
“‘Slip up’? It’s not a mistake to use a preferred hand. You can use whichever one you want.”
“It’s okay. Besides, my writing doesn’t get smudged when I use my right.”
As if to prove his point, he wrote out Chat Noir on the page in a very smooth cursive using his right hand.
Marinette sighed as she turned back to her sketchbook, “I guess, but that’s hardly a reason to tell someone that they have to change their dominant hand. There’s plenty of pens and other stationary for lefties to use anyway. It just sounds kind of dumb to me to tell someone they’re using the wrong hand when there’s nothing wrong about it.”
She couldn’t see what kind of face Chat was making now, but she heard his soft hum as though he were agreeing with her but only for the sake of it. After a minute or so she could hear the sound of him colouring in again. She didn’t really feel like working on her own sketches anymore, so she settled for quietly watching him instead.
“Can I see?” she asked after a while.
Chat lifted his head again, his green eyes meekly looking over her. He turned his gaze back to the page for a moment before lifting it up and handing it over to her.
She smiled as she took the paper into her hands, “You added a rainbow.”
He grimaced at the comment, “Is that bad? Did I do it wrong?”
Marinette exhaled a gentle laugh as she looked at the arched rainbow added into the background of the drawing. She could tell he’d taken extreme care to not do anything that might mess up the dress she’d drawn, as the colours were kept so neatly within the lines and done in even strokes.
“No, I actually like it. And I don’t know what you were worried about. I don’t see any smudges or mistakes.”
His green eyes lit up with surprise, shining at her as he looked at her in awe. The honesty of his expression caused a bashful tint of pink to appear in her cheeks.
He gave her a crooked smirk, “Thanks. But it’s just because I’m that purrfect.”
Marinette rolled her eyes with a snort, “Being perfect has nothing to do with it. Especially when it’s someone else’s idea of perfect. You’re allowed to do things how you want to do them sometimes too.”
His cocky smirk faded, softening into a shy smile as he lowered his gaze again.
“Thanks.”
“Anytime, Kitty.”
AU where the current holders of the miraculous have dreams about the previous holders
- They only dream about the holders before them- not the holders before the previous ones (for example, say Laila is the current holder of the butterfly and the holder before her was Maya. The holder before Maya was Ali. Laila will only dream about Maya whilst Maya have dreamt about Ali).
- The dreams are in the POV of the previous holders; you would only see things that are happening through their eyes and have no control over their bodies. You will also feel the same things the holders are feeling. The dreams are only possible if the predecessor before the current holder has passed away.
- The last holders of the Ladybug and Black Cat miraculouses were Bridgette Zhōu and Felix Gray (The PV predecessors of Marinette and Adrien). They were born in England and fought and died during the end of the second world war in 1945.
- Bridgette went by as Ladybird whilst Felix went by as Black Cat. They were sixteen when they received their miraculouses by Maître Fu.
- So Marinette, ever since gaining the earrings, would dream about Bridgette and the events that unfolded during her time. Adrien would dream about Felix on the other hand.
- At first, both were confused and horrified by this, especially after having to witness the brutal battles and war in first person and not having the power to help the way they want. They wouldn’t dare to mention this to each other in the beginning, unsure on how to approach the subject and completely traumatised too.
- They are quick to mature, especially in their civilian lives. Alya has noted that Marinette often wears a distant, sad look on her face, as if she’s weighed down by the burdens of the world.
- Nino was also quick to realise the tired yet determined gaze that Adrien wore, as if he was burning with the desire to protect everything he treasures as well as grieving for the things he’s lost. Though, the boy is an excellent actor and it’s really hard to see him unless you’re Nino.
- Since Marinette is far too distracted with coming up with plans and connecting dots to find out who le Papillon was, she’s not able to see how deep the changes were within Adrien, mainly focused on protecting her loved ones, especially her Chat Noir.
- Adrien on the other hand keeps a constant close observation on Marinette. She’s one of the few people out there that he really likes and cherishes so seeing her becoming more distant and tired and sad also upsets him.
- He starts to suspect about Ladybug’s civilian identity, especially after Plagg noting that he’s fallen for Marinette and LB for the umpteenth time.
- Marinette is also in love with both Adrien and Chat Noir (though she doesn’t like to admit the latter). She doesn’t make any attempts on romancing because she fears that it would be taken advantage of by le Papillon one way or another.
- Chat Noir is only a little flirty with Ladybug, also held back from the past holders and the current villain from fully attempting to romance her. Adrien is still soft and sweet with Marinette, always making sure she’s relaxed in his presence (Though, strangers can see that the feelings between ladynoir and adrinette are mutual).
- Both Adrien and Marinette love to spoil their kwamis with all the sweets and cheese the little Gods desire. The duo couldn’t fathom the guilt and trauma from their predecessors so how were Tikki and Plagg dealing with all the lives of their past holders?
- The bond between Tikki and Marinette and the bond between Plagg and Adrien is super, super strong.
- What finally causes Ladybug and Chat Noir to snap and communicate with each other regarding the dreams is when they finally dreamt about Bridgette’s and Felix’s last moments. These moments were the most haunting and painful out of them all.
Bridgette laid in a distraught Felix’s arms, a fatal wound in her chest, an ugly crimson growing on her clothes, yet a soft, subtle smile rested on her lips. With all her energy, she mustered up the strength to cup the sobbing boy’s cheek, as if Big Ben wasn’t being bombed to smithereens behind them and as if they weren’t surrounded by walls of deadly fire.
“Please...don’t close your eyes...don’t leave me...you’re going to be okay,” Felix choked, leaning into her touch which only grew terrifyingly colder and colder. He has to save her...he has to!
“D-Don’t cry, my sweet love,” Bridgette attempted to grin further and cooed at her lover, blind to Tikki’s vice grip on her blood stained school uniform and Plagg’s gape of horror. “I...I need you to run, Felix. Please-”
“What!? Don’t be ridiculous! I’m not leaving you! Not now, not ever!” He held her closer to him, tears cascading down his usually stoic face and mind scrambling for a plan. “I’ll save you, like always! And no one will dare to hurt you again-”
“Please...you’re already hurt. Please, live for me...”
“Bridgette...there’s no point in living if you’re not there with me, and that’s final!”
.
- Unfortunately, the duo met their demise from a direct bomb. Fu and Marianne had no choice but to take the miraculouses off their corpses as they were on the run, no time to mourn for the poor teens.
- Because of this dream, Chat has vowed to protect his Lady, no matter what, to ensure that she never has to go through the same pain as Bridgette (and also so he never has to mourn for another woman he’s loved with his everything).
- Ladybug has also vowed to ensure that they would never get into a situation like that, ever. The last thing she ever wants is for her partner to go through that pain.
- Sometimes, Marinette would find herself clutching her chest, as if she’s been shot, only to realise that they’re phantom pains from Bridgette’s fatal wounds and battle scars. Sometimes, the pain is enough to make her blackout.
- Similarly, this happens to Adrien too. Especially since Black Cat often got hurt during the war when fighting against the opposition.
- Both Marinette and Adrien have seen this happen to each other, not only as civilians but as their hero identities as well. They’re both 100% certain of their suspicions regarding the identities but are yet to address it.
- They get into arguments when Chat keeps on sacrificing himself. Both of them wanting to protect each other so badly, it hurts. The horrors of their predecessors’ lives and failures branded into their souls.
“You are the most important one out of us both! You can bring everything back to normal! Of course it makes sense for me to take that hit for you-”
“We are a team! I can’t do this without you and you know how much I hate seeing you die before my eyes over and over again!”
“But you bring me back every time-”
“That doesn’t stop it from hurting, you stupid cat! How would you feel if the person you love the most kept dying in front of you!?”
- After accidentally blurting out her confession, Ladybug attempts to run away, only for Chat Noir to hold her back by the hand. He then gently hugs her from behind, face hidden on the crook of her neck.
“I do know how it feels, Marinette. I do...” Chat held onto her tighter when she gasped, waiting until she relaxed before he carried on. “Every time I dream about that night, I feel Felix’s pain as his Lady died in his arms. I feel his guilt, his self-hatred, his grief, his heartbreak...everything.”
Lifting his head, Noir turned Ladybug around, his frown deepening from the tears that ran down her cheeks. He then brought his lips to one of her eyes, kissing away the tears with a softness that would rival even a mother’s touch to a new-born’s skin.
“I’m sorry I made you feel that way...I love you so much that I can’t bear to see you die, ever,”
- From then on, they come to a compromise that they’d work as hard as possible to keep either of them from dying for each other.
- It’s hard and difficult but now that they have each other in their civilian lives, as well as letting Alya, Nino and Marinette’s parents into the secrets, the burdens eased. Fu allowed them to do this, knowing that the burden is too much for a singular person to handle on their own. Together they all became one excellent support system.
- Thankfully, there are pleasant dreams from Felix’s and Bridgette’s lives as well. Such as: first time meeting, ballroom dancing, walking in the gardens, etc.
Yarning For Her
Adrien is smitten with the girl who's always been there, in the row behind him. But when his plans to ask Marinette out unravel, a secret throws him for a loop…
Written for the Miraculous Writer's Guild April Event 2021: Followers sent five emojis as prompts to the @mlwritersguild Tumblr for the writers to pick one to write for. I chose the emojis sent by @ladycat1: ✨ 😊 👀 👩🏻 🧵
Canon compliant up to Season 4, Episode 4: M. Pigeon 72.
👩🏻
It was finally happening. The event everyone was waiting for… well, everyone except the main protagonist of said event.
Marinette could feel it, though she could hardly believe it. She noticed Adrien looking at her with more intensity, when he thought she wasn’t looking. How he had trouble finding the right words when talking to her. All the tiny gestures of attention, like offering to help with a difficult subject or a complex art project, or praising her outfit every day, even if she’d worn it several times before.
Nino could tell, too: questions about Marinette and her favourite colour, food, flower, or whatever else were whispered in his right ear all day.
Actually, the whole class noticed Adrien’s marked change in behaviour. His cheerful hellos were now stuttered in Marinette’s general direction. His head hid on his shoulders whenever Marinette sighed or yawned, as if his neck couldn’t handle her fresh breaths. Even his athletic skills were now replaced with an unexplained jerkiness. The fact that the weather was warmer and the girls’ gym suits gave way to short shorts and strappy tops might have had something to do with it.
In short, Adrien fell in love with Marinette. Hard.
👀
When it started, Adrien couldn’t exactly tell. Ever since that first day of school, Marinette had held a special space in his heart (most of which had been stolen by Ladybug the previous day). She was one of his first and dearest friends.
But now… after getting to know Marinette, her loving and kind nature, after seeing her helping others without asking for anything back, after finally noticing how pretty she was… he wasn’t so sure.
That day at the pool was definitely a turning point.
First there was that unplanned double dive. During those milliseconds when they were falling, Adrien’s thought process went something like this:
Danger!—Why is Marinette here?—Protect!—Wow, she looks so cute in that swimsuit!
As they hit the water, their arms instinctively reached out to the other as they sank, swirling back up to the surface in a soft embrace — just like that night in New York, when they had danced floating in the air, under the full moon.
And when they were leaving the pool, Adrien was so happy and surprised to see she still had the umbrella he’d given her way back then! Sweet as always, she offered to give it back to him, even though it was raining and she had to walk home.
She was standing next to him (she linked her arm in his!) when that pesky umbrella decided to close on them, and they were pulled even closer for a few seconds. Very close. He could smell the chlorine in her hair mixed with the scent of sweets that always surrounded her. He thought he felt her heart beating faster and faster. Maybe it wasn’t. His heart certainly was. He could feel her warm breath through his shirt, and it drove him a little crazy.
When they said goodbye that day, he could hardly take his eyes off her. He even bumped his head on the car door frame. Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the charming, elegant model Adrien Agreste, unable to enter a car (come to think of it, he seemed to have a bit of a problem with doors whenever Marinette was around).
The few weeks that went by did nothing to sort out Adrien’s feelings about the two black-haired girls in his life. His days were mortifying, his nights restless. On one such night, Adrien tossed and turned, but sleep wouldn’t come. The full moon and bright stars shining through the window frames painted his room with grid patterns, a constant reminder of his confined life.
Adding to that, his mind was racing with memories of his (now frequent) clumsiness and embarrassment at school. He recalled the fumble of the day: going into the classroom while trying to look cool, he managed to snag his bag strap on the door handle, causing him to jerk back and hit the ground on his butt in front of the whole class.
Adrien groaned and turned again. Worst thing was, he had no idea how she felt for him. She kept sending mixed signals. Her behaviour towards him wasn’t as weird as it had been, but that didn’t mean a lot. He’d even asked her a couple of times. He remembered the time they visited the wax museum, when she said she didn’t like him like that.
“What’s the matter, kid?” Plagg yawned from his side of the pillow, annoyed by his bearer’s restlessness. “Who is it this time? Spots or bakery girl?”
Adrien didn’t bite, going back into his musings instead.
His mind turned to Ladybug… These days, Spots occupied a much smaller part of his thoughts. He still got the occasional butterflies in his stomach when he saw her, or when she praised him and his humour. She would always be his first love, and not an easy girl to forget… but she was right, of course — she was always right — as long as they had enemies, they couldn’t reveal their identities, much less deepen their relationship. Back when Bunnyx first showed up, they found out that there would be a new Hawkmoth and countless akumas in the future, and who knew when that would end?
Plagg was still grumbling about sleep and cheese. Adrien playfully flicked his kwami’s ear.
“Shut up, Plagg! I’m trying to sleep!”
“Very unsuccessfully, I might say,” Plagg flew out of his reach. “You sighed four-hundred and fifty-eight times in the last hour.”
“Come on… can’t you see I’m in turmoil here?” Adrien turned his back to the kwami. It was no use arguing with a deity, no matter how minuscule.
“Four-hundred and fifty-ni—” Plagg’s teasing was interrupted by a pillow hitting him.
😊
This wouldn’t do. Adrien couldn’t stand his own indecisiveness any more. He decided to ask Marinette out, that very day. After a reviving shower, he got dressed and looked in the mirror. The dark circles around his eyes were evident, but he hated wearing concealer to school. He might as well add a couple of details to his usual get-up: a pair of Gabriel’s new collection sunglasses and his favourite blue scarf.
He arrived at school early, and while most of the class was either chatting in the courtyard or going into the classroom, Marinette was nowhere to be seen. Adrien went into the locker room, and lurked behind the last row of lockers while students got in, got their things and left.
Finally, the hurricane that was late-for-class-Marinette thundered in, scolding herself for oversleeping as she got her books for the morning. When she closed the door, there was Adrien, leaning against the cabinets with his best Chat Noir smirk as he looked over the rim of his sunglasses and greeted her.
“Good morn—”
He didn’t have time to finish his line, as a very startled Marinette squeaked and grabbed his free arm to spin him around and pin him to the lockers with an elbow to his throat.
It took a few moments for Adrien realise exactly what had happened, before she released her hold.
“I’m sorry, I… panicked,” Marinette said, as she stepped back and continued to gesticulate wildly and mumble more awkward apologies.
Still frozen in place, Adrien managed to adjusted his crooked sunglasses.
“Marin—” he had to clear his throat. “No, I— It’s o-ow!”
Adrien tried and failed to step forward, as he heard a ripping sound — his scarf was caught in Marinette’s locker, and the momentum slammed him back into the metal doors with a loud bang.
The proverbial stars that blurred his vision cleared up to show Marinette very close to him, fumbling with the lock to release the scarf.
“Sorry, so sorry, I’m such a klutz!”
“It’s okay, no harm do—”
Adrien stopped talking when he saw that the scarf had a large rip, disappointment obvious upon his face.
“Oh no!” Marinette covered her mouth as she saw the damage. “Your scarf! I ruined it!”
At this point, Adrien would usually smile and say something like ‘it’s okay’ or ‘no worries’, but he couldn’t lie: he really loved that scarf. It was his favourite colour, warm and cosy, yet light enough to wear on a spring day, and a rare thoughtful gift from his father. He pouted a little as his fingers traced the tear.
“I can fix it!”
He lifted his eyes to Marinette as she got on her tiptoes to unwind the scarf from his neck.
“I can make it look as good as new. I know you’re worried, after all it’s your dad’s birthday gift,” she rambled as she delicately folded it, “but I have leftover yarn— I mean, I think I have the same colour, and it’s a simple pattern.”
There was something odd about the way she worded that, but Adrien dismissed it. He must have made a weird face, because now she had a concerned expression.
“I mean, if you trust me with it… I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t after I destroyed it. ”
“No—I mean, don’t be silly, it was an accident… I shouldn’t have sneaked up on you like that!” He managed a relieved little smile. “Still, my father might be upset if he saw I ripped it. Are you sure you can fix it?”
Marinette’s eyes averted his for a moment, as she returned the folded up scarf.
“I’ll do my best! I’m not a pro like your father, but I’m sure I can make it as good as new in no time at all!”
They agreed to go to Marinette’s place after school so that she could start working on it right away, then ran off to class as the second bell rang.
Not exactly the way I planned it, Adrien thought as he scrambled onto his seat, but I guess it worked!
Adrien reclined in the chaise-longue and looked around Marinette’s bedroom. It was the total opposite of his, huge and aseptic and cold. On the contrary, these walls had warm colours and pictures everywhere, and it smelled amazing, fruity shampoo mixed with glue and ink from her many design projects, mixed with sweets from the bakery, and everything about it was so welcoming and cosy and so… Marinette.
“Yes!” Her delighted voice interrupted his reveries. “I knew I still had it!”
Adrien chuckled as he saw Marinette triumphantly holding a ball of light blue yarn, then get several needles from her yarn basket and sit at her sewing station to start working. He switched seats to her desk chair and rolled close to her.
“Can I help?”
“Sure! Let me just…”
Marinette picked up a long, thin knitting needle and started to thread it on the scarf, just above the tear. She was so concentrated and her movements so careful and precise, she might as well be defusing a bomb. Adrien noticed her tongue sticking out the corner of her mouth and wondered what her kisses would taste like.
“There. I have the brakes on, now let’s get going.”
Marinette found the end stitch at the corner of the scarf and cut it. Giving Adrien the end of the yarn, she continued.
“Hold this. Make a ball while I unravel it.”
“Huh? Un-what?” Much as Adrien trusted her skills, he panicked. “Won’t you make it worse?”
“No, because I’m holding the knitting with this,” she pointed at the longer needle she had threaded through the scarf.
Marinette turned her chair, so they were sitting face to face, knees almost touching, and started to quickly unravel the bottom part of the scarf, while he rolled up the thread in a ball, both enjoying the comfortable silence. He noticed a small piece of fabric falling from one of the edges and bent down to pick it up.
“What’s this?” Adrien thought out loud while examining it.
As soon as Marinette lifted her eyes from her work and saw what he was holding, her eyes went wide and her cheeks red.
“Oh, it’s nothing—” she tried unsuccessfully to snatch the fabric from his hand. “Probably just the washing inst—”
It was not an ordinary washing instructions tag. It was tiny and had been woven into the knitting, so discreetly he’d never noticed it before. He turned the fabric over to see a recognisable signature.
Marinette
“Wait— you made this?” Adrien picked up the other end of the scarf from her lap and examined like he’d never seen it before. “Wha—? How? D-did my father buy it off your website?”
So that’s why she was so confident about fixing it. He searched Marinette’s face for an explanation, but she just shook her head and kept looking down, unravelling the loops one by one.
“No— of course not— your site wasn't set up back then, we only took those photos later…”
Adrien thought back to the time Nathalie handed him the present, neatly packed in a box with a ribbon. He’d never seen that kind of care in his father’s presents, just standard gift bags with expensive pens, straight from a corporate catalogue. His train of thought was broken by a couple of tears falling on his hands.
“Marinette…” he murmured, lifting her chin to look into her misty eyes. “Did you make this for me?”
She nodded with a tiny smile. He moved his hand from her chin to cup her cheek, wiping her tears with his thumb.
“Was this supposed to be your present for me?” Another nod. “How did this mess happen then?”
“I…” Marinette had to clear her throat and finally looked at him. Something in her eyes changed from avoidance to determination. “I wanted to give it to you personally, but I couldn’t gather the nerve… then one thing led to another, and I left it in your house, and I even signed it, but…” she shrugged.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I just… couldn’t. You were so happy with the present from your dad. I couldn’t ruin it for you.”
Adrien made a mental note to find out exactly what had happened, then set all his negative feelings aside. His heart was too full of love to think about anything other than the girl in front of him.
“Oh, Marinette…” he softly chided as he hugged her. How could this girl be so selfless, on top of everything else? She cared for him, really cared for him, even back then. “I wish you’d told me.”
He released the hug and pulled her closer, into his lap. Marinette set the scarf on the sewing table and put her arms around his neck. Her tears were gone and a hint of a smile played on her lips.
“That way,” Adrien caressed her nose with his, “I would have thanked you properly.”
“Oh yeah?” Marinette breathed, her lips very close to his. “You can thank me now.”
They closed the distance between them, their lips melding into a sweet kiss, then another, and then a few more. Adrien’s heart was beating so fast he could hardly bear it. Then he remembered he should probably breathe at some point.
“Wow.”
“Wow.”
“If that’s the way you thank a person for a present, I’ll start giving them more often,” Marinette joked.
“Not anyone.” He pecked her lips. “Only you.”
They kissed again, this time more passionately. He kissed her eyes, the tip of her nose, her forehead, her neck, then back up to her lips…
The scarf was left forgotten on the sewing table. It could wait a few more hours before repairing.
