The first time:
You two had been best friends your entire lives. You lived right next door so seeing each other almost every day, being together all hours of the day wasn't an uncommon occurrence. That's why when you two had been couped up in her room all day, a long day of swimming in her pool, it didn't phase anyone in the home. Including yours.Â
The talk about starting your senior year of high school was something that came up quite often this summer. Nerve-wracking but also excitement-inducing. "Who do you think will play again this year?" You lay on your back, your feet at the edge of the bed, the cool wall barely ghosting your toes while your head hung off the bed, next to Caitlin's.Â
You looked to the side, analyzing Caitlin's face. She looked very pretty. Her cheeks were rosy from the slight sunburn that began to set into her pale skin, brown spots that appeared to be new freckles scattering her rosy cheeks.Â
She sat on the floor, her back resting against the bed you appeared to be dangling off of. She turned her head to you, looking away quickly realizing the proximity between the both of you. Her patience and self-discipline began to grow weary the last two months of summer being around you all the time. She couldn't help but notice that you had grown into the most beautiful girl in the world.Â
"Well, I know Sydney got pissed last season because we played well together that she only got playing time when you and I weren't on the court or the field. So I have no idea if she'll want to come back." She shrugged looking back at you, her eyes dropping to your tongue dragging across your lips quickly before looking away.Â
"Yeah, I feel bad about that. We're just better together." You looked at your best friend, her brown eyes locking with yours for what felt like the longest moment of the whole day.Â
"Definitely better." She whispered, suddenly the urge to meet her lips with yours getting increasingly harder by the second. Suddenly it didn't feel like she was all alone in what she seemed to think about you this whole summer.Â
You scooted your head just a tiny bit closer, closing the distance to dangerous proximity, your breath practically fanning over the other. You both inched closer, the tension between the both of you growing.Â
"Dinner's ready." Colin came bursting through the door, looking at the both of you. Both your heads shot in the direction of the intrusion, suddenly whisking away any possibility of you two.Â
"We'll be right there." You said, cheeks suddenly growing hot and pink as you sat yourself upright and stood.Â
Caitlin Clark, your best friend, just almost kissed you.Â
The second time:
You two had just graduated and you both couldn't be any happier graduating together. The celebration with your families took place tomorrow so tonight was just you and Caitlin. All of your friends had left a while ago, pushing an hour ago, and you two stayed at the cool lake together.Â
She just picked you up and ran and jumped into the water with you. You came up from the water laughing so hard your stomach hurt, it softly echoing in the space around you. You swam in front of Caitlin, studying her face as the sun began to set behind you, the pretty hues painting another artwork on her already flawless face. The pretty pattern they painted in her chocolate eyes.Â
You fought the feelings you had been growing for the brunette all of your senior year. It wasn't obvious to anyone else but you two. The irony of it all made you laugh. "Will you miss me when I'm gone? Promise to visit or meet back home?" You asked. The soft pain in your heart started to settle and make home when she announced she committed to the University of Iowa and you Iowa State University.Â
Both are at home but yet so far away from each other. "Of course, I'll miss you. How could I not miss this pretty yet obnoxious face hounding me every day." She ruffled your wet hair, swimming a little closer towards you. Would it be strange to say that in the cold water, you could still feel her warm body radiating its warmth towards you?Â
"Good. Can't have you going and abandoning me now that you're miss hotshot, all-star recruit." You hugged her, enjoying the stark contrast of the water and her body against yours. You pulled away, your eyes getting lost in hers. You couldn't possibly kiss her.Â
She fought demons and all the thoughts telling her to just kiss you because she won't see you for a long time after you both leave. One kiss wouldn't hurt the friendship, right? But it would. She didn't know for sure that you liked girls. The longing glances, the lingering touches, and the indirect confessions you two shared late at night throughout the year still weren't sufficient pieces of evidence to convince the brunette that you shared the same admiration she did for you. Love. She was in love with you.Â
She couldn't ruin the friendship. That's why when she noticed both your breathing growing heavy, the eyes bouncing from eye to eye and to each other's lips, the declining distance, she had to cut it short. She'd rather love you in silence than announce it to the world and lose you in the process. "You're my best friend, you know that?" She looked at your face, scanning it to make sure she didn't say the wrong thing. Maybe she should have just kissed you. In the privacy and knowledge of only you two.Â
"Yes, of course. You're mine." You whispered, pulling apart and reaching for the deck to pull yourself out of the water and dry off for the night.Â
The third time:
You had quite literally sweated through your tank top under your Clark jersey while you anxiously watched what was the last minute of the BIG 10 tournament with the Clark family. Your team had been eliminated a couple of games ago, so you made haste in coming to see your favorite girl play. You and her mom holding hands, Colin on your other side while you held his hand. Caitlin had a stellar game so far, so you shouldn't have felt as worried as you did, but you couldn't help but feel nervous because you knew how badly she wanted this.Â
You came to see her and have been attached at the hip for the last three days like old times. You watched her relentlessly practice her shots, you assisting in her off-the-dribble shots, contested shots, her quick release shots. You spent hours in the gym with her. You watched her practice and the team, you had complete and utter faith that they'd secure the win, it was just nerve-inducing to watch it all unfold.Â
She had pulled another logo three off a screen, the whole family, including you, celebrating among the thousands of other people in the arena. The cheering halted for moments before the final buzzer, signaling the win Iowa University had secured.Â
The shouting and screaming that ensued was enough to rupture the eardrums in every single being in this arena. You and Colin embraced while jumping up and down that all of your guys' favorite girl had won the biggest game in her career. This was truly an unreal feeling for a mere spectator in Caitlin's life, so you couldn't possibly imagine how this must've felt to Caitlin while she celebrated with her team on the court.Â
It wasn't long before the family was allowed to make their way to the court and celebrate with the champions. You greeted all of Caitlin's friends who had soon become yours within the last few days. You congratulated them on their win and praised their efforts in making it all possible.Â
You caught the eye of Caitlin, deep into a post-game interview, her eyes meeting yours, a soft smile gracing her lips as yours reached your eyes. You couldn't have been more happier and proud that she achieved what she so desperately wanted and hoped to accomplish for herself and this program.Â
You and her parents waited for her to finish all her other obligations before thinking to interrupt to celebrate, it was quite taxing due to the excitement and pride the five of you harbored for the brunette, but it left a lull in the celebration between you. "You know, I'm glad you were able to be here. I know how much it means to Caitlin that you could make it tonight. I know how much it means to me and Anne that you stayed her best friend through all these years, being another major support system for our girl. You're a part of our family and we love you, kiddo. Just thought I should mention it." Brent leaned to the side, and low, to be able to reach your ear close enough so you could hear him over the roar of cheers among the women and their families.Â
His eyes trained on the happiness of his daughter while she hugged her teammates trying to make her way to you guys. You looked up to the man, the man whose house you spent the majority of your childhood in. You smiled to yourself at his confession, nearly bringing tears to your eyes. "Of course. I was happy to come and make her game. I wouldn't miss it for the world. She's worked so hard and I'm glad to see the amazing player and woman she hoped to be." You patted his back, him looking at you at your confession of Caitlin. "I'm glad you consider me part of the family too. I would hope so because then I spent all those years asking for food and sleepovers for nothing, Mr. Clark." You both laughed.Â
Unbeknownst to you both, Caitlin had been sauntering over to the lot of you. Her family. She never admired your beauty more than she did right now. She loved that you could spend the moments in her absence, talking and laughing with her parents and brothers. The look of this picture seemed so natural to you.Â
She could kiss you so badly right now, wanting nothing more to relish in the thought of you finally being far more than just her best friend. The attraction she had for you, doubled tenfold, just by the small interaction you shared for being absent for the last three months.Â
She couldn't get enough of you.Â
The fourth time:Â
It was mere hours passed from the point where you, Caitlin, and your family celebrated her win in the BIG Ten tournament that you two spent the night quietly in your apartment. You had invited her over, leaving the option for her to celebrate with her family of course, and she gladly accepted your invitation.Â
You two had cleaned up for the night, you changed your clothes, showering most immediately when arriving home, letting Caitlin wander around your place for the first time. She showered second, changing into old pajamas you kept of hers over the years. "Cait, I seriously can't believe you guys did it! I mean, I can, but oh my god it's still crazy." You looked at Caitlin who sat at the island barstool just watching you. Attentive to what you had been saying and the way your eyes literally shined talking about her. It settled a warm feeling in her chest, that some like you, especially you, could talk about her with such joy and adoration.Â
"You literally looked amazing out there, Cait." You smiled at her, placing the strawberries you had been cutting into the bowl next to the cutting board. You two had already eaten dinner at a restaurant with some players from the team and their families. You two just wanted a snack and all you had were strawberries and whipped cream.Â
"Thank you, pretty." The blush in your cheeks suddenly matched those of the berries you had just placed in front of Caitlin. You turned to grab the whipped cream from the fridge, trying to bask in the cool air to ease the flustered look on your face. Failing miserably.Â
"Of course, Cait." You smiled. You really could not stop smiling whenever you had been around her. It was becoming concerning. Not literally, but seriously, the happiness and giddiness were becoming funny at this point, especially amusing the brunette in front of you. You suppose that's why she kept calling you names like that. Except the effect is more efficient in person and not over Facetime. "Do you want something to drink?" You asked, clearing your throat. Suddenly the air becoming increasingly thick to breathe when she looks at you the way she has been for the last twenty minutes.Â
You opened the cupboard, noticing that the cups you needed were on the second shelf, the shelf you indeed could not reach. "Hey, do you minâ" You turned to face Caitlin, seeing her already two steps ahead of you.Â
She stood behind you, placing one hand on your hip. Surely she needed to balance herself, but she was six foot...
You sighed quietly, fully knowing she could hear you but it didn't matter. She reached her other hand, picking up two glasses with one hand with ease. Caitlin waited til the last possible second to remove her hand from its place on your hip. She placed the glasses, down, closed the cabinet, and turned you around to face her, all while her one hand remained on your body.Â
Looking at her this close, with the both of you sharing the same look, and surely the same thoughts about the other, was something totally different than all the other times. Granted the other times both of you had a nudge of what could transpire between you both, just less courage and lack of all the information keeping you from doing so.Â
But right now, the reaction she managed to draw from you, her being so close she could hear it and feel you beneath her, the feeling of your body growing warm at the mere thought of her touching you anywhere else was something so different. There was more clarity about your guys' relationship right now than there has ever been before.Â
"You're so pretty. Do you know that? It's unreal." Caitlin whispered, her face now next to your ear, the feeling of her breath sending chills anywhere and everywhere. You could not believe this was happening right now. How could you two act like best friends if what you think is about to happen happens?
"I wouldn't say unreal." You seriously could not muster a better response than the first, most flustered, yet idioticly undertoned answer that came to mind. You looked into her eyes, suddenly unaware of anything else. Her eyes were chocolate brown, almost black in ill-lighted rooms but right now they were the center of your captivation. It would be a national crime to look away right now.Â
Caitlin could see the way she was making you feel right now. She couldn't lie to herself and say she didn't feel the same way you did, she was just better at hiding it than you were. "No, I think that's exactly the word I'd use. So pretty." Her voice gets significantly faint and breathless at her last sentence. Her lips now significantly closer to yours.Â
You reached a hand up and rested it on her cheek instinctually. You held her face close, your body now pressing into hers. Both of Caitlin's hands were resting on either hip, holding you as close as you'd allow.Â
This was a major dynamic change of your friendship and you two were processing this as you went. It was scary to think about. You tilted your head up, breath fanning over her lips, her pace in breaths matching yours. Both of you felt so extremely overwhelmed but the good kind. Your eyes met each other, the action making it feel like a butterfly sanctuary inhabited your belly as the moment occurred.Â
"Caitlin, are you going to kiss me or not?" You sighed, the desperation evident in the tone of your voice. You sighed at the force of which one of her hands reached the back of your neck, pulling your face into hers. She kissed you so hard you couldn't breathe. The way she grabbed so gently yet so desperately like if she didn't, you'd vanish.Â
This was truly something out of a movie. The years of build-up between the both of you. The feelings that were so secretive yet not so. It was a perfect act that transpired in your kitchen.Â
The fifth time:Â
Caitlin was in a rush to get ready, fully under the impression that you were already done and just waiting on her. The second you both walked into your shared apartment in Indiana, Caitlin bolted to your guys' room and hopped in the shower. They had beat Chicago Sky for the second time this season and you had gone in shorts and a black form-fitted crop top, with Caitlin's jersey over it. You had told her you had to change and that was it, but it panicked Caitlin that she would have to complete a whole routine before she would be ready.Â
"Baby, have you seen myâ" She paused in her hurried state, looking at you, suddenly unimpressed at the state she found you in. "Baby, are you kidding me?" She chuckled softly as she found your face buried in a pillow. You had already put on your spaghetti strapped, long pencil dress, curled your hair, and all you had to do was your makeup.Â
"I'm just a little tired, Cait." You turned over, looking at your fiancĂŠ with a sleepy smile on your face. You patted the spot next to you, putting your face back into the pillow. Wanting to be near your beautiful girl at the moment while you lay in your shared bed.Â
"Let me get dressed. You need to do your makeup before you start to complain that I didn't tell you sooner because you have no time." She slid on a sports bra and a white crop top. Her underwear and her forest green shorts followed. She plopped on the bed next to you.Â
"I don't want to do my makeup but I do. I just want to lay here with you. For like...ever." You sighed as you rolled onto your side, your arm sliding over her stomach, cuddling you two together. "Baby, we have to go." You sighed, looking at her with a pout on your lip.
"Yeah, I know that. You're the one laying on me." Caitlin looked down at you, watching you get up. She sat there and watched you as you walked up to your vanity in the corner and started your makeup routine. She couldn't believe you were real. You two grew up together and not once did she believe that you'd be this gorgeous. It was literally like watching an angel.Â
You had caught her eye through the mirror, and you blushed profusely, suddenly aware that she had been watching you this whole time and you just now noticed how insane you looked with unblended concealer and contour. "Stop looking at me like that." You proclaimed, cheeks blushing and lips curled into one of the biggest smiles.Â
"Like what?" Caitlin whispered, her hands folded in her lap. God, she couldn't help but smile whenever she seemed to be looking at you.Â
"Like you want to kiss me so bad." You blended out your concealer and contour, now putting blush on. Hoping it'll conceal the blush already present.Â
"Well, I want to." She said matter of factly. Which made you both blush even more than you two already had been. You two were blushing mess in each other's presence it was insane.Â
"Oh my gosh, can you let me get ready without you trying to seduce me, at least once?" You both laughed while you tried to hurry up and get ready before Caitlin's eyes literally made you explode. She went to blow dry and straighten her hair before finding her resting place on the bed, watching you. "Okay! I'm done, my love." You said, sliding on your sandals before grabbing your purse that Caitlin was already holding out for you.Â
Mumbling a thank you, Caitlin grabbed her matching blazer to her shorts and followed you out of the room and to the car. She stole the kiss she was waiting for before opening the door for you to get in.

pairing: wonwoo x f!reader genre: fluff, romance, idiots to lovers word count: 6k summary: Wonwoo couldnât possibly be the only person living in Sydney who didnât know how to swim, so he reluctantly says yes to the lessons his friends signed him up for. When he learns that you are his instructor, he figures learning how to swim as an adult isnât all that embarrassing after all warnings: fear of water, mentions of drowning a/n: this is part of the @svthub 2024 world tour collab. please head there to check out other fics under this collab. if you enjoyed reading, please reblog and leave a comment, it really does mean the world to me and i would love to know your thoughts. thank you! đ
It was the kids' laughter that brought your mind out of its newest daydream. It was hard to keep yourself focused on what was happening right in front of you rather than on what had already happened. It was a new feeling and so completely out of character for you.Â
A couple of weeks had gone by since you attended a certain party, one you didnât want to go to. You were too tired from the week and there was a little hint of emotional exhaustion to put yourself through a situation where everything would eventually turn out to be too much.Â
It had been so easy to find a quiet place further in at the back, away from all the people and their noisiness. There was only so much music and chatter you could block out just by standing away though.
You sipped your drink, something sweet and fruity Kira had gotten you before drifting off to wherever she wanted to go. It was somewhat frustrating to have gone there because of her and having her pull away from you the second you got there. But at the same time, you understood why she did it. Whoever her new crush was, he was at the party, which meant that she saw an opportunity. Kira was never one to be at a party by herself, and unfortunately, Nina had a better excuse to not be there than âIâm tiredâ, so you had to be the one to tag along. Though it wasnât entirely too bad, it was a little boring.Â
And then he showed up.Â
You had never seen him before, which considering that you didnât know a single person at the party wasnât surprising at all. You knew Kira and maybe a couple of others in passing. You made a mental note to ask her how she found out at that party.Â
There was no way for you to look away from him. It was like there was this spotlight on him, just on him, making everyone else around pale.Â
Somehow he had ended up by your side, claiming to also be running away from his friends and the noise.Â
âThis isnât really my scene,â he said âI donât even know how they managed to drag me out here, to be honestâ
You blushed a little when he looked at you, a smile wide on his face. It was enough to make your heart skip a beat.Â
âIâm Wonwooâ, his hand stretched out while his left one adjusted the glasses in his nose.Â
âHiâ
You let your hand be wrapped by his. You had never felt quite that shy before while meeting someone. Usually, you were the talkative one.Â
âI wasnât supposed to come out tonightâ you admitted âbut Iâm kind of glad I didâ
Was that possibly crossing a line? You werenât sure, it probably was but early that morning you read that you should be more open to relationships in whichever format they came from, the reason why you didnât even try to stop Kira from dragging to the party.Â
A long time had gone by since you felt anything similar while talking to someone â especially since using the word talking seemed to be a little much considering you had barely exchanged a few words. Wonwoo had your undivided attention from the moment he walked in.Â
Wonwoo simply smiled at you again and looked up at the sky. The sun had long set and in its place the most beautiful full moon lit up the sky, accompanied by the countless shining stars.Â
âThereâs so many stars tonight,â you said and almost kicked yourself for it.Â
It was probably the worst way you could have started a conversation with a guy. You half expected him to answer you at all, a nod or a hm, at best.Â
âDid you know,â his words were almost shy, his delicious low voice dropping even lower, almost as if he was telling you a secret âthat the stars have colors?â
His voice was so quiet while he spoke, his eyes still focused on the sky above. Wonwoo clasped his hands together, his knuckles turning white while he put way too much strength into something that needed none.
âReally?â you looked up for a second before turning your full attention back to his profile âI thought it was just some sort of optical illusionâ
He turned to you then, his full attention on you as you waited for him to speak again. It was an odd feeling, for him to have someone interested in whatever he was saying.
âYeah, thereâs a few. Blue, white, yellow, orange, and redâ he made a fist between the two of you, raising a finger every time he said a different color âThe color depends on the temperature and life cycleâ
Maybe you didnât mean to, or perhaps you did, but you leaned your body a little to the left, your knee touching his.
âI had no ideaâ
He looked at you, slightly surprised that you were suddenly so close to him but smiled at you all the same.
âYou canât see the colors when you look at the sky?â his eyebrows were slightly raised, lips in a mix of a pout and a smile.Â
You pulled your bottom lip in between your teeth in hopes that it could make you stop from inching forward and pressing them against his. If you were in his place youâd probably run away screaming âcrazyâ at the top of your lungsâ
âI mean, I can, I just didn't think the star had actual colors. I guess I just always assumed it was all silverâ
Wonwoo laughed, his nose wrinkling in the most adorable way possible.Â
You were talking with him for a couple of hours, the most casual kind of conversation and it was probably the most fun you had in a long time at one of those parties. Not that you didnât have fun. Nina and Kira were always fun to be around and it was something you always said yes to, being around them. But with Wonwoo it was just a different kind of fun. Usually, when guys approach you at parties the conversations always remain the same, and it was always made to make them look larger than life.Â
Wonwoo however seemed to be much more interested in talking about the sky and the moon and the stars â âdid you know that the moon moves away further from the earth every year? â and while you were aware that some of it was just to prove himself as smart, you found it cute and at times, even endearing.Â
He seemed somewhat passionate about what he was talking about to the point where you could just stand there and look at him without ever getting bored. His voice, low when he had first sat by your side, had gone up a few notes, maybe partially because of the music around you, but you had a feeling that it was because he was just getting excited about what he was talking about.Â
âI never saw you before at one of these,â you said
Wonwoo took a long sip of his drink, you werenât sure of what it was but it wasnât the cheap beer that was in your cup.Â
âI donât come to these often, my friendsâ he pointed at where the rest of the people were and you had no real way of finding out who his friends were âfinally managed to drag me out. I would have stayed at the office if they didnâtâ
It was a redo of the conversation you had before but you didnât mind in the least, not when you could feel his warm breath at the top of your cheeks as he leaned down to talk to you. Slightly, you turn your head to him and for a moment you thought about just typing your head up slightly, just enough to reach his lips.Â
âWhat do you do for a living?â
Wonwoo cleared his throat, his eyes moving from your eyes to your lips. He did that maybe a couple of times before he finally, finally, leaned in. And it was like little bells of you started to play inside your head. It was perfect for all of two seconds, his lips pressed over yours, soft and warm, his hand at the back of your neck pulling your face closer to his before someone screamed your name at the top of their lungs.Â
He pulled away from you immediately and you honestly wanted to cry. The kiss had only lasted a brief second but you didnât want it to end.
Kira was suddenly by your side, a look of complete desperation in her eyes.Â
âWe have to go⌠NinaâŚâ
Before she even finished her sentence you were already up. You looked at Wonwoo quickly, hoping that he could see how sorry you were when you ran out.Â
Looking back you wished you could have remembered to ask for his number before you left, or for him to ask for yours. But all of it had happened way too quickly that it had never crossed.
Ever since that night had been stuck in your mind, you couldnât stop thinking about Wonwoo or the kiss. It was like your mind was in this infinite looping playing that one moment.
âThe new guy is here,â Jinah said, Laughing a little.
You looked where she was pointing and couldn't help the low laugh that escaped your lips. Three guys were walking towards you. Maybe walking was a bit too strong a word, one of them was being pushed by the other two.
âWe're already here,â the shorter one said, exasperated âYou just have to go there and learnâ
âYou know, this is a terrible ideaâ the one who was being pushed said.
It was as if you had been transported back to that day at the party. It was precisely the voice you wanted to hear but had no real way of hearing.
âWonwoo?â
Your voice was one that Wonwoo didn't expect to hear any time soon, or maybe ever again. After that day when he left the party in a hurry, without giving the slightest explanation, Wonwoo was sure he would never see you again. Sydney was far from a small town and he wasn't the biggest party-goer who had ever set foot on this earth, he knew that the chances of running into you again were slim to none.
But somehow, you were right there in front of him.
He had thought many times about what he would say if he saw you again if he was that lucky. Everything that had gone through his head had seemed wrong and now that you were in a place where he could see you, nothing came to mind. It was as if he had momentarily forgotten all the words he had learned throughout his life. That all the years he had spent trapped in an educational institution hadn't taught him anything.
Ever since that night, Wonwoo couldn't stop thinking about you. It didnât matter what he did, however, he tried to think of other things or other people and focus on work. You were always there, in the back of his mind. He had never done anything quite like that before.Â
That wasnât to say that he had never had a girlfriend. He had, a few of them throughout his life but it never happened quite that fast and it was never quite life-altering. Sure, he had met a girl once at one of the many events he attended as part of his job and she had stayed in his mind for a couple of hours, but never days like it happened with you.Â
And when he started to babble about the moon and the stars, because he had gotten nervous, you didnât seem to mind. Instead, you gave him your full attention, seemingly inserted in what he was saying. But then suddenly you were gone and he didnât even have the chance to ask for your number or anything that he could use to find you again.Â
Wonwoo had been certain that you would, somehow, be the one who got away and yet there you were, in shorts and a black swimsuit with the logo he saw outside.Â
He hated the word destiny, but maybe there was some of it sprinkled in seeing you again.Â
âHi!âÂ
Wonwooâs voice came out a little louder than usual, making his friends turn to him with furrowed eyebrows. Soonyoung looked utterly confused while Jihoon just did his best to suppress the laugh that was bubbling inside his chest.Â
âI didnât think Iâd see you again,â you said, smiling brightly at him.Â
Wonwoo was completely caught off guard when you took a step forward and wrapped your arms around his shoulder. It only lasted a second and it wasnât enough for him to react and hug you back.Â
Your cheeks had a light pink on them as you stepped back. He smiled once he noticed that your hand was balled into fists.Â
âSorry, my mom is a hugger so I just sort of hug people sometimesâ you were quick to explain, waving your hands in front of yourself.Â
You closed your eyes tightly, your cheeks getting even redder. Wonwoo thought that you looked cute that night at the party, but this version in front of him was much cuter. He pressed his lips together, trying not to smile too big.Â
âDo I get a hug too?â
Soonyoung took a step forward, arms wide open, smile so big that Wonwoo wasnât even sure his friend could see anything at all. Thankfully Jihoon was quick enough to pull him back and angry enough to hit him in the back of the head.Â
âNoâŚâ Â
You took another step back and raised your index finger at him. Your reaction alone was enough to pull an honest laugh out of Wonwoo. You seemed horrified by the idea which made him think that your earlier allegation of being a hugger was probably a lie.Â
âHow dense are you?â Jihoon whispered and shouted at Soonyoung.Â
You lightly shook your head, maybe trying to shake off any sort of dizziness, before smiling again.Â
âWhich one of you is the one taking lessons?â
In the queue, Wonwoo felt two sets of hands at his back, pushing him forward. Both of his friends were holding back giggles.Â
He had hated the idea of taking swimming lessons as an adult. His friends were irreducible in his learning though so he eventually just caved and did as they wanted. However, all of the cells in his body that were against it dissolved the second he saw you. Now, learning didnât seem all that bad or all that weird.Â
âGreat! I need you to follow me to the back if thatâs okay?â you pointed over your shoulder with your thumb âYou need to fill out a form before we can get startedâ
Wonwoo nodded and followed you. He was naive enough to look back at his friends once and he was glad that you didnât do the same. Jihoon was giving him a thumbs up, a weird-looking smile on his face, while Soonyoung would be screaming if he could, if not for the hand covering his mouth.Â
He loved his friends, he really did, they were one of the reasons why Wonwoo even had any kind of social life, and they were there for him whenever he needed them, even if he just wanted to complain about something â Soonyoung was especially good at hating someone he had never met before just because Wonwoo complained once about said, person.Â
In silence, he followed you to the back, eyes focused on your back. He had to force his eyes to stay on the back of your neck and not on the way your hips swayed deliciously from side to side while you walked.Â
You sat down on one of the tables and smiled sweetly at the receptionist who handed you a sheet and a pen. You slid the paper across to Wonwoo, followed by the pen. Â
âWhile you fill that out, Iâm going to ask you a couple of questionsâ
Wonwoo was never that great at multitasking, so he was sure that he would either write his information down or he would talk with you. If he did do two things at once, most likely both of them would be half-assed.Â
âWhy are you taking swimming lessons?â
He paused writing and looked at you. It made sense that that was your first question, he would just like it if it wasnât on the list.Â
âI donât know how to swim, so my friends thought that it was good a idea to sign me up for lessonsâ
You smiled and nodded at him, not a hint of judgment in your eyes. It was new. When he told people that he didnât know how to swim people usually looked at him like he had four sets of arms, it was almost like the look one got when one heard that they could ride a bike.Â
âCan you float on your back?â
He simply shook his head and kept writing his information down. It didnât go unnoticed to Wonwoo how you pursed your lips together and tilted your head to the side.Â
âDo you feel comfortable in the water at all?â you asked, slightly confused.Â
Wonwoo set down the paper and pen, now fully looking at you. He wanted to avoid the conversation, yes, but he knew if there was one place he had to be honest, it was there, with you.Â
âIâm not the biggest fan of water,â he said, voice low matching how his eyes were kept on the table the entire time.Â
When Wonwoo was a kid, while on a trip to the beach with his parents, he was playing in the water when a wave forcefully took him away. He had tried to scream for help but instead of pushing his voice out, all he did was pull water into his lungs. According to his parents, the moment didnât last for more than a few seconds but it was enough for him to never want to do anything with the water again.
It wasnât a problem to be at a pool, like the one he was in, as long as his feet could touch the floor and he had enough space between where the water ended and his head. But he had never been to the beach again. Not that his friends hadnât tried to convince him to go to the beach, just to feel the sand between his toes, they never even mentioned the idea of getting in the water. But Wonwoo refused every single time.Â
Why would he go to a place that only brought him bad memories when he could simply pretend that synch place didnât even exist in the first place? Of course, living in Sydney posed as a minor problem to that plan, but it had never stopped him before.Â
And yet, somehow, he found himself in front of you, asking for swimming lessons. The fact that it was you made him somehow calmer if such a thing was even possible.Â
âCan you get into the water or is that something we need to work on?â Wonwoo looked up at you, eyebrows furrowed âSome people come here and they have a rough time getting into the water, so itâs something we have to work slowly on. Is that the case with you?â
âOh, noâ he shook his head âI can get into the water just fineâ
You smiled at him while you looked at his information. Wonwoo felt his insides twist a little when your smile slowly dropped.Â
âIs everything okay?â
Your eyes left the paper for a second and you smiled again.
âEverything is fineâ you put the paper on the table again, now fully ignoring it âShould we get started?â
âHe is a cancer!â you wailed, dropping your head on the back of the couch.Â
Of course, it made absolute sense that the most dreamy and perfect guy you had ever met, was a cancer. Of course!Â
âWhat is she on about?â Kira asked, making a weird face.Â
Nina simply sighed and nudged you, placing the wine glass into your hands
âItâs the guy from the party,â you said, sipping the wine âHe came in today to take lessons and I saw his birthday. Heâs a cancerâ
Both of them nodded as if understanding what you were saying, but you knew that they couldnât care less about it. Between the three of you, you were the only one who cared about star signs. You were always one to simply look into it once and let it go. It usually gives you a way to understand someone better. And while it could just be some harmless fun, you know yourself well enough to know that something you let get a little too much into your head.Â
And you see, Wonwoo is a cancer, which in itself itâs not a real issue. Cancer men are known to be caring, loyal, and protective, all of which are great treats when you are in a relationship with someone, their groundedness is highly incompatible with Sagittarius women. They usually enjoy their time at home and are more on the introverted side.Â
âAre you going to treat that as a problem?â
Nina had her eyebrow raised so high you were sure that if she pushed up a little more sheâd be able to touch her hairline.Â
âWe are incompatible!â you cried, drinking the rest of the wine.
Both of your friends looked at you, knowing that the conversation would probably lead you to drink a little more than you needed, which in return would cause them problems. Truth be told you werenât the best drinker out of the three of you. You were the worst of your group, to the point you avoided drinking out, but in the comfort of your home â or this case, Kiraâs home â all bets were in and you could be as much of a bad drinking as you wanted to be.Â
âYou canât let sun signs, moon signs, whatever itâs called, rule your relationship, babe,â Kira said, her voice sounding a lot like the one she usually used on the kids she teaches.
Kira was a kindergarten teacher, a real hero if you knew what one of those looked like
âRemember how you were over the moon after the party? You couldnât stop talking about him and we all know that if you canât stop talking, it also means that he was constantly in your mind as wellâ
Her tone was almost mocking you. The thing is your friends knew you, sometimes, better than you knew yourself.
âDo you remember Ben? He was a cancerâ you said trying to prove a point, but knowing fully well that it meant nothing at all. Wonwoo and Ben couldnât possibly be more different, even just at first glance.Â
âBen stole money from your wallet, used your card to his heartâs content, and then fled, making you pay for everything he ever bought. Iâm sure Wonwoo is nothing like thatâ
You narrowed your eyes at her. She was defending Wonwoo a little too much. You knew Kiraâs thoughts on your zodiac obsession and she was always quick to shut it down, but this time around, the way she was defending a man she had maybe seen for 5 seconds was a little suspicious.
âI agree with Kira,â Nina said, eyes still on her phone âBen was a dick but Wonwoo might not be one. You said he was sweet at the party. Sorry I sort of ruined it for you that nightâ
Your friend smiled at you, her eyes a little sad. Nina had been the reason why Kira pulled you out of the party that night. She had been traveling for work and was in a car accident on the road on her way back to Sydney. She was fine, with no life-threatening wounds, but she was very nervous, understandably so. She was still insecure about being on the road again, but you were sure that she just needed a little more time.Â
âItâs fineâ You wrapped her shoulders with your arms, pulling her closer to you âNo boy in the world is more important than youâ
Your mind went back to the party and the way you felt that night, how youâd have stayed there the entire night with him unless you were pulled away â which eventually happened. Wonwoo talked about the moon and stars and you were that if he ever told you that he was the one responsible for hanging them up in the sky you would have probably believed him.Â
âYouâre so corny sometimesâ She pushed you with her shoulder but made no real attempt to move away from you.
âYou love me, soâŚâ
âI guess the swimming lessons are much more interesting now, right?â Soonyoung teased Wonwoo.
Wonwoo simply rolled his eyes and kept his focus on the computer in front of him, making Jihoon snort by his side, which in return only made Soonyoung wine as he sat on the couch in the back of the room. Under normal circumstances, Wonwoo would probably already be home at such an hour but there were things that he needed to do if he wanted to have a truly off weekend. One when he could just focus on the lessons he was bound to have on Saturday.Â
He was never one to anxiously wait for things, especially when those things had a lot to do with the water and yet there he found himself, wishing that Saturday morning came just a little faster than it usually did.Â
For him, Saturdays mostly meant trying to come up with reasons as to why he wouldnât be able to go somewhere with his friends. That was mostly Soonyoung, to be fair. His friend enjoyed being out and about, going to new places, and having new experiences. From time to time Wonwoo did too, but he liked his time alone time a little too much when it was just him and his stars.Â
âIt pains me to say thisâ Jihoon said with a sigh, almost as if he didnât believe those words were coming out of his mouth âI agree with him. It looks a lot of fun nowâ
Jihoon and Soonyoung were a weird duo, that was for sure. They spent half of the time bickering like old men who have nothing else to do and the other half they were either in agreement or just pretending that the other didntdidn'tt. Somehow, it worked.
âI meanâ Jihoon continued âSheâs the girl from the partyâ
Wonwoo turned around in his chair, giving Jihoon a look with eyes wide. There was a reason why he didnât mention you to Soonyoung, and it was quite simple: he would never hear the end of it and Soonyoung would, at the very least, contact every single person he knew at the party and ask if they knew you. His friend would stop until he found you and though seeing you again was something that he wanted, Wonwoo didnât want to come across as someone who was desperate and maybe a little bit of a stalker.Â
âWhat girl?â
He let his body slide down on the chair and closed his eyes. Wonwoo would never hear the end of it now with Soonyoung.Â
âThe party we managed to drag him to a couple of weeks ago? He met a girl there and she had to leave before he managed to ask for her numberâ
Another thing about the Soonyoung and Jihoon duo is that they like to gossip like teenagers. Itâs the very stereotypical image of highschoolers whispering to each other in the hallways, except for the fact that they gossip about Wonwoo right in front of his face and there is nothing that he can do to just make them stop, and they havenât been to a high school hallway in years.Â
âWhy didnât I know about this?â
âProbably because you were too busy with whatever it is that makes you disappear at parties?â
The two of them exchanged a look and Wonwoo knew that they were talking without ever saying a single word.Â
âSoâ Soonyoung turned to him again âyou went to a party and talked to this girlâ
âKissed her, actually,â Jihoon said
Soonyoungâs body almost vibrated at the news and he was clapping his hands, making sounds that no human should ever be able to make.Â
What is the closest emergency exit from here? Wonwoo couldnât help but wonder.Â
âThis is the greatest day of my lifeâ he laughed hysterically âYou went to a party, something that on its own is already very out of character to you, you kissed a girl and now sheâs your hot swimming instructor?â
He turned to Jihoon for approval, who simply nodded.Â
âYou should ask her out, she looked interested earlier at the poolâ
The image of you looking over his information and your smile slowly dropping came across Wonwooâs mind and he couldnât help but think that Soonyoung was wrong. Whatever it was that you say written there, which Wonwoo couldnât possibly even phantom what it was considering that it was his most basic information, was enough to make you rethink something.Â
âAnd she listed to you nerding out and still wanted to kiss youâ
His mind drifted back to the night of the party. Wonwoo was certain that if you had stayed for a little longer he would have probably gotten your number and asked you out on the very next day and with some luck you would have said yes and who knew where it would go from there.Â
âOh, this just keeps getting betterâ Soonyoung clapped his hands.
âAgain, this is very painful to say but I agree with Soonyoung, you should ask her outâ
Wonwoo rolled his eyes. Jihoon talked a big game about not agreeing with Soonyoung but he always did. They were always in the same frequency of decisions and Wonwoo was usually the one who had a different opinion.Â
âAnd maybe, who knows, she might have thought about you as much as you thought about her these past few weeks?â
Soonyoung grabbed Jihoonâs arm, his eyes wide with uncontrolled excitement.
There was something different about the way Jihoon said it as if he was in some sort of secret that Wonwoo had no idea about. Of course that was the entire purpose of a secret but it felt different.Â
âIf I promise to think about it, will youâ Wonwoo pointed at Soonyoung âstop this weird, whatever it is?â
Surprisingly enough, the pool was mostly empty during the weekends, hence why they usually closed at noon on Saturdays. Parents usually sent their kids during the afternoons and most adults preferred either early mornings or after hours so the weekends were usually pretty low and youâd rather be anywhere else than at work but Saturdays started to look so much better once Wonwooâs name was written on the board, right under yours.Â
After the initial minor breakdown
You sat down on the edge of the pool, your feet on the water while you waited for him. With each passing second you grew more anxious, your heart beating rapidly inside your chest in anticipation of what would happen.Â
A part of you expected it to be just a regular class, with normal small talk. The other part, this one much more hopeful and highly unrealistic, hoped that you could pick up where you left off the night of the party. But the truth was that you had no idea what was about to happen. You were certain that there was a secret third option that you couldnât see or even think of.Â
You turned around when there was the distant sound of a door closing and a few seconds later Wonwoo walked in, in black swim shorts and a black t-shirt, a towel on his shoulder. He smiled at you while pushing his glasses back.Â
For a moment it was like you were back at the party that night and he was all that you could see again. There wasnât anything or anyone else there but even then the space seemed to disappear.
âHi,â he offered once he stopped next to you.Â
âHeyâ
You got up and walked to the other side, removing your shorts and folding them over the side of a chair. Wonwoo followed suit, dropping his towel on the chair and then taking off his glasses and shirt. It took everything in you to keep quiet and not just fully ogle him. You almost had to hit your face to make yourself remember how to breathe properly again.Â
"You ready?" you said without turning to him.Â
The only answer Wonwoo had to give was a small ruff, in exchange for making you chuckle. Though it was funny, it was not the ideal.Â
âListen,â you turned to him, hands on your hips âIf youâre uncomfortable we can reschedule or maybe not even do this at allâ
Wonwoo looked at you, his eyes going a little soft as he sat down on the edge of the pool, mimicking your early stance. His eyes were focused on the water in front of him, unblinking.Â
âIâm tall enough that my head will stay above water, right?âÂ
âYes, youâre good until halfwayâ
He nodded his head, eyes until in the water. If the situation was any different youâd have cracked a joke or anything else that could somehow lighten up the mood but there was no room for that.Â
âLetâs just get this over withâ
Most of the hour you spent with Wonwoo in the pool was silent. It was mostly you talking and him listening, trying â and failing â to follow your instructions. You tried to crack the occasional small talk, but he was having none of it. You couldnât help but wonder if his lack of enthusiasm, or interest, was because he was still uncomfortable or if it was because of how you had acted when he first came by to sign up for lessons.Â
It took you a few hours, and three glasses of wine, to realize that you had made a face when you saw his birthday written. And it wasnât a nice face, you were sure you scowled at the paper. Maybe it was that moment you ruined it all between you and Wonwoo. Or maybe, he was just really unhappy.Â
âAre you okay?â you asked him once again, hand on his shoulder.Â
You were honestly so worried about him that it was hard to ogle him.Â
âYeah, Iâm just not a big fan of water, thatâs allâ
This time you put both of your hands on his shoulder, turning his body fully to you. God, he is too handsome. Forget the whole âtoo worried to ogleâ thing. His chest, his very naked chest, was right in front of your eyes. You were only human, a human that had dreamed of the man in front of her a few too many times and none of them had been pg-13. It was fine to appreciate someoneâs beauty.Â
âListen to me, you donât need to do this, okay?â
âThis is Sidney,â he said as if that was enough explanation.
The only possible reaction was to roll your eyes at him.Â
âWho gives a fuck where we are in the globe? Do you go to the beach? The pool? Boats? Loves to be on airplanes who happen to fly across oceans?â when his answer to all of your questions was no you shook his shoulders a little bit âThen you have no reason to learn how to swim. Right now youâre just torturing yourselfâ
Wonwoo sighed and nodded, but he still looked sort of weird, if you were one to tell considering how little you knew him. You raised your eyebrows at him, hoping that it was enough to get him to talk.Â
âItâs justâŚâ he seemed to struggle to get the words out âI want to see you againâ
This time you didnât even try to suppress your smile or the butterflies in your stomach.
âYou could ask for my number and ask me on a date, you know?â

counting the days till i'm coming home
lake monster steve fic steddie | Explicit | part 1 of 4 | read on ao3
The first time Eddie stumbles across the monster in Loverâs Lake is right after he fails senior year for the second time.
He doesn't know itâs the monster everyone talks about at firstâbecause no one has ever really seen it.
People only talk about how thereâs something in the lake, something that sometimes pulls people under, something thatâs been there since before Eddie was even born.
Heâs sitting at the edge of the lakeâjust watching it ripple, thinking about how heâs probably going to be stuck here, in Hawkins, for the rest of his lifeâwhen he sees something moving out of the corner of his eye.
His head snaps over to lookâbecause for as long as heâs been coming out here to Rickâs, heâs never seen anyone in the lake.
But thereâs someone in there now.
This guy, heâs almost ethereal lookingâsmooth tan skin, hair slicked back from the water.
âWhat are you doing in there?â he asks before he can stop himself.
The boy looks up at him, his eyes lighting up. He swims over to Eddieâheâs fast, probably faster than anyone on the swim team even.
âHi,â he says after he stops a handful of feet in front of Eddie.
âHi,â Eddie says, almost breathless.
Heâs even more gorgeous up close, with his full mouth and doe eyes and moles dotting his face and neck and shoulders.
âWhat are you doing in there?â he asks again.
âWhat do you mean?â the boy asks.
âPeople say thereâs a monster in the lake. You should be careful.â
A smile tugs at the boyâs mouth as he says, âPeople say a lot of things. But nothingâs ever happened to me when I swim here.â
Eddie nods. People say all kinds of shit, so he isn't surprised that the monster in Loverâs Lake is probably just a myth that got repeated too many times.
âIâm Eddie,â he says, wondering where this guy came from. He doesn't recognize him from schoolâheâd remember a face like thatâso he must be visiting relatives or something over the summer.
âIâm Steve,â he says, drifting a little closer. âYou should come in the water sometime. Itâs nice.â
Eddie smiles. âMaybe sometime. Not exactly dressed for it right now though,â he says, a little ruefully, looking down at his jeans.
He kind of wishes he had the confidence to strip down to his briefs and dive into the water, feel its cool touch on his overly warm skin. Heâs been sitting out here a while nowâand now that he thinks about it, he doesn't remember hearing a splash when Steve got into the water. He must have really been distracted by his thoughts.
Steve shrugs and wades back further into the lake. âIâm here all the time, so if you ever decide to come in, Iâll find you.â
Those words haunt Eddie after he leaves the lake, after watching Steve disappear under the surface and not seeing where he popped back up.
He sees Steve in his dreams that night, whispering the words Iâll find you over and over as he reaches out as if to touch Eddie, but the touch never lands on him. He spends the entire dream craving that touch, wanting it, but never getting itâjust listening to him tell him heâll find him.
He wakes up in a daze, thoughts only on the boy in the lakeâhis voice, his hair, the way his skin looked in the sunlight.
He slips a hand in his boxers and he isn't surprised to feel how wet he is. The dream was confusing and weird, but craving someoneâs touch isn't new.
There have only ever been a handful of guys here in Hawkins that heâs been attracted to, but heâs always only ever crushed on them from afar. Thereâs no way heâd risk the wrath of some backwater jock by hitting on him.
Thereâs something alluring about Steve though, even though from what little Eddieâs seen of him probably suggests that heâs also a jock. But heâs not from here. Thereâs something about that that makes it less scary, thinking about approaching him, asking him if he wants to fool around.
Worst thing that could happen is that he gets the shit kicked out of him and can't go to Loverâs Lake for the rest of the summer. But Steve will be gone back to wherever he came from come September. A guy like him has probably got plans for college already neatly lined up, swimming scholarship or whatever sport he plays that makes him almost inhumanly fast in the water.
So he thinks about it as he touches himself. Thinks about going back to the lake and finding him there, waiting for Eddie.
I knew youâd come back, heâd say when Eddie dove into the lake.
Eddie imagines being brave enough to wade close enough to feel the heat of Steve's skin.
Heâd say something like I came back for you or something equally as cheesy.
Eddie fucks two fingers into his cunt, the palm of his hand grinding against his dick as he thinks about Steve reaching out just like in his dream, but this time actually touching him.
He thinks heâd probably gasp at the first touch of Steve's fingers grazing his skin, touching his tits, thumbing at his nipples.
His breathing picks up as he thinks about Steve's hand slipping between his thighs, touching him like heâs touching himself now.
Maybe heâd spin him around and let him feel the expanse of his chest pressed against his back as he touches Eddieâs dick with deft fingers.
Heâd press them tight together so Eddie could feel how hard he is for him, just for him.
Maybe heâd take him like that, right there in the lake for anyone walking by to see. Heâd press inside him, stretching him out on his cock until Eddie's eye crossed from the pressure building inside him.
Maybe heâd turn Eddie's chin with his free hand and kiss him, slow and deep as he fucks into him from behind.
Eddie comes with his fist pressed against his mouth to keep the noises from spilling out as he clenches around his fingers, riding it out.
He sinks boneless into his sheets, still thinking about warm brown eyes and big hands all over his body.

â¨Let's talk about OCs!â¨How would you describe your OC's personality/aesthetic? What's your favourite thing about them? Tell us a fun fact(s) about your OC or their creation!
â¤ď¸Send this to at least 3 people to spread some OC appreciation!â¤ď¸
Oh, thank you so much for addressing this question to our department of "Hyperfixation on OCs"! I happen to have a PhD in Macology, so buckle upâhere comes PART ONE (this lecture is going to be long, make yourself comfortable).
So, for my first playthrough, I played Baldur's Gate with my husband, and we created a warlock-durge character together. Thatâs why Mac didnât show up right away. (Fun fact: my husband suggested romancing Gale, but I let out a squeal of a 14-year-old fan at a BTS concert and he relented.)
Eventually, I realized I was head over heels for the gameâs story and needed to play it again (and again). This time, with my own character. I liked the warlock durgeâs story and thought Mac would fit with that tragic lute-player vibe. But then it hit me: you know what this party is missing? A normal person!
Spoiler: I didnât manage to create a "normal" character because whatâs a protagonist without a tragic backstory? But thatâs how TavâMacâwas born.
For the second playthrough, I started out determined to make her a sunshine girl with two long braids, butâsurpriseâbraids were a mod! The disappointment was crushing. So, I went back to my favorite classic: curly red hair. (You can actually see all her stages of creation on my concept art sketches. Yes, I draw my characters before playing them...)
The name Mac (originally she was called Robin, by the way) came to me because of her hair color: "mac" means "poppy" in Russian. And so, for almost a year now (her anniversaryâs coming up!), she has utterly taken over my heart and mind, with her guitar and her white streaks.
### Fun Facts About Mac:
- All the women in her family are named after flowers, and sheâs dead set on continuing that tradition.
- Sheâs a half-elf: her mom is a wood elf, and her dad is human.
- She spent most of her childhood at sea because her dad is the captain of a semi-pirate ship (modern AU version: heâs a marine biologist).
- Her mom was a scientist who disappeared when Mac was nine. She was searched for tirelessly but was never found.
- Mac has a maternal aunt named Lutik (Buttercup) who keeps the entire family in line with an iron fist.
- She chose the bard profession because her mom dreamed of it.
- As a child, she was kidnapped and sent to an island with other children, where she had to survive for two years.
- On that island, she was nearly devoured by a giant snake but narrowly escaped (thatâs where her scars come from; this story exists in her modern AU too).
- Her white streaks appeared during her time on the island.
- After witnessing most of the other kids die, she developed an obsessive need to protect all children. (I even have a little comic about this.)
- She adores children in general.
- She fights with a crossbow and illusion magic.
- Her favorite animal is a rabbit.
- She loves collecting little trinketsâstones, shells, charms.
- Her favorite color is turquoise.
- Sheâs an amazing musician and loves singing most of all.
- Singing and... Astarion.
- Sheâs a early bird.
- Her favorite things include the smell of the sea, pebbles, spruce coffee with milk, the sound of applause, a crackling campfire, warmth, traveling, and swimming.
- Her family has a villa near Baldurâs Gate, gifted to her by her father, where she and Astarion settled after their adventure. (In the modern AU, itâs a two-room apartment.)
That concludes PART ONE! Up next: her first concepts.

The Boy is Mine (Z's edition) // e.m.
a/nâguess who's baaaaack. Yeah, I didn't expect it either, but a long and lonely day and some scrolling through this hell site made me stumble upon a few posts that actually made me excited to write again, so here I am.
This fic is a part of @carolmunson's blurb challenge. I had so much fun writing this, and thank you so much, Carol, for sparking that inspiration back in me.
word count: 2.4k
warning: a LOT of fluff. Eddie and reader being menaces towards each other. teasing. playfighting. slight spanking. innuendos and suggestive talk. Swearing. possibly rusty writing as this i haven't written anything in months (i think that's it??)
He was sunshine, I was midnight rain -Midnight Rain, Taylor Swift
The downpour came completely out of nowhere as if someone up in the heavens was throwing buckets and buckets of ice-cold water at the same pace. The entire morning had been a perfect summerâs day, bright and sunny, warming up the ground underneath you, toasting all rooms and cars. Itâs what made you want to go out in the first place. You had enough of sitting on the couch every weekend and practically dragged Eddie out of the house by the sleeve of his baggy sweatshirt.Â
Now he was the one hauling you back inside, both of you looking like a pair of drenched cats.Â
âI swear to God, if you donât get your ass over here right this second!â He shouted through the rain, his hair sticking to his face, water dripping down onto the floorboards of the trailer. He just ran inside, holding an arm out to keep the door open.Â
âIâm coming.â you said, with none of the urgency that Eddie held in his tone. The rain, while cold, felt nice and refreshing against your face. Taking a deep breath in, you let the summer night air fill your lungs, almost forgetting about your impatient boyfriend who was standing waiting for you on the threshold. He called out your name, but you werenât listening.
âIâm serious, sweetheart,â Eddie leaned against the doorframe, growing tired as he watched you twirl around in the rain. âIf you donât stop and come inside right this second, weâre gonna have a problem.âÂ
âI really doubt it,â you shouted back, making another turn on your heels as the rain caught your cheeks. You couldnât quite explain what made you act like this, but it was a freeing feeling to just stand outside and let Mother Nature weep her sweet, sweet tears.
âOh yeah, and whyâs that?â Eddie challenged, a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips.Â
âBecause youâre too much of a pussy to come outside and get wet again.â It was a known fact that Eddie hated rain or water in any form, really, touching him. If there was a way for a person to take dry showers, he would be the first in line to try them. There was something truly unexplainable about him but truly endearing, so who could blame you if you poked fun at the way he groaned when he couldnât dry himself off properly after a swim or moaned about his hair being a mess? Â
Even from the distance of the driveway and the gloomy twilight as the sun set, you could see the blank stare he was sending your way; that are you shitting me right now glare only he could provide so casually and yet charmingly.Â
You poked your tongue out teasingly at him as you twirled around once more, arms spread wide open to receive another bucket load of rain on top of you.Â
âCâmon, youâre gonna get sick!â your boyfriend made another attempt at getting you inside, but if you were one thing, it was stubborn. All spun out, you leaned against the hood of his van. Perhaps a bit too provocative, with your chest forward, as you took deep breaths. You werenât sure how soaked through your shirt was yet and if the water made the material see-through, although, seeming from Eddieâs reaction, it just might have been. You had closed your eyes but dared to shoot a glance up at him briefly and just about caught him cursing to himself.Â
You had spent most of the day driving around, stopping here and there to grab something to eat, but it had been right as you decided to stroll past Loverâs Lake that the clouds formed above your heads, and the rain started to fall. Eddie, ever the romantic, ran back to the van like a startled alley cat, quickly disappearing into his comfortably, dry enclosure, and he had run just as quickly back into the trailer once you got there. Overall, besides his hair, he suffered minor damage. His clothes were already nearly fully dry again, but the rain had only gotten worse since then, and there was no way he wouldâ
Your boyfriend cursed again, shaking his head in amusement, as he pulled his sweater over his head and threw it behind him to the ground. You knew as soon as he made that one step past the threshold. You were fucked.Â
âDonât you dare,â he said the second he saw you hesitantly step back. Ironically, his threat spurred you on to keep moving, and before you knew it, the two of you were making laps around the car through the muddy ground.Â
âCâmhere you,â Eddie said, and despite your best efforts, you both knew it was inevitable that he would eventually catch up to you. You shrieked out as your feet suddenly left the ground, and you were hoisted up over his shoulder.Â
âEddie!â you hit him on the back, getting bumped up and down as he walked proudly to the trailer door. âPut me down!âÂ
âJust so you can run away again? No way, princess,â he chuckled, adjusting his grip on you, making you bounce around even more. His hand rested on the back of your bare thigh, the shorts you were wearing that day doing a not-so-tremendous job of covering you up. God, the walk up to the trailer had never felt that long.
âEdmund Lorenzo Munson,â you stated, âput me downâ ahh!â you squealed as you felt the sharp snap of his hand against your ass. âYou did not just do that!â
âYou bet I did,â and to prove his point, he did again, this time a little harder. âI told you it would only mean trouble for you if you stayed out there.â
âDonât be so dramatic,â you rolled your eyes just in time before he put you back on the ground. The trailer was warm from a long, sunny day, and the usual ambience of the clock above the TV was overruled by the harsh tap-tap-tapping of the rain on the roof.Â
âOh, Iâm dramatic,â Eddie scoffed, âsays Miss Let-me-run-around-in-the-rain-until-I-catch-pneumonia.â
âOk, first of all,' you held up a finger. âThatâs not even true. I was out there for about five minutes, so donât be like that. Second,â you pointed up a second digit. 'That was dramatic. And thirdâŚâ You had finally let yourself look down at his naked, rain-soaked chest. âActually, never mind.â
âNo, no, finish your thought, princess.â His arms twisted around your waist, swaying the two of you from side to side. His lips were stretched in a wicked grin. Perhaps you were making him forget the state he was in and that he was, in fact, supposed to be mad at you, at least a little bit.
âYou know what, I suddenly forgot what I wanted to say.â You shrugged and slipped out of his hold, reaching the couch. Once sat, you had the perfect view of your boyfriend, who stood towering over you in nothing but his ripped jeans, arms now crossed as he shook his head in disbelief. His rain-kissed skin was shimmering in the room's low light, and his hair was once again drenched, with curls still dripping water onto his shoulders.
âWhy am I not surprised by that,â Eddieâs smile persisted as he looked you up and down, a line of worry crossing his brows. âIâll get you some dry clothes.â And with that, he turned around but did not even take three steps before a small pillow hit the small of his back. But Eddie, accustomed to your hijinks as well as you were to his, barely flinched and affectionately put up his middle finger.Â
âLove you too!â you shouted after him, already peeling off your shirt. Now that you were inside, the room's warmth started tingling your body, and the dampness of your clothes felt suffocating. Not that you would ever admit to the goosebumps rising on your armsâno, not to Eddie, at least.
A few seconds later, Eddie returned wearing a black t-shirt and sweatpants and holding a stack of fresh clothes for you. He threw them at you one by one, but with some effort, you caught everything despite his terrible aim. You then considered throwing your wet clothes back at him, but the poor boy had suffered enough, so you quickly got dressed. In the meantime, Eddie headed over to the kitchen, looking for something in the cupboards.
âI was going to suggest making something to drink to warm us up,â he answered before you even got the opportunity to ask, âbut it seems I run out of, like, nice cups.â Nice, in this case, really just meaning âcleanâ. He looked around some cupboards while you walked up to him, wrapping yourself around him and looking over his arm at the pile of dishes.
âThere, I used that one this morning.â You pointed at a mug that had once been clearly hand-painted by a kindergarten Eddie. The wonky blots of colour almost matched the inside, which was stained with coffee remnants from that morning.
Eddie picked it up, hesitating, âyou sure?â
âYesh, of course, just rinse it off, you dork.â
While Eddie got busy making what you hoped would be hot chocolate, you busied yourself by looking through the other cupboards for something to eat. âDo you have anything sweet in here?â You were still looking around the shelves when Eddie pulled your chin in his direction and pecked a kiss onto your lips.Â
âI meant more like cookies or something, but thank you.â
âYeah, I think we got a pack of those iced biscuits around here somewhere.â Indeed, on top of the highest shelf, which he knew you wouldnât be able to reach, there was an unopened pack of sugar-vanilla-icing-coated cookies. By the time Eddie handed you your mug of hot chocolate, you had already eaten two, dipping your third one in the drink. Knowing Eddie, he would have already poured in some colder milk for you, leaving you with no need to be hesitant on your first sip. The beverage warmed you up from the inside, and you couldnât help but let out a satisfied sigh of relief.Â
âWhat?â you looked up at Eddie, feeling his gaze on you, but as soon as you addressed him, his eyes focused on his own drink.
âNothing.â He leaned casually against the counter.
âNo, no, you were clearly thinking something so just spill it out.â
He made you wait by taking one long sip of his hot chocolate (extra cinnamon). He leaned forward to grab a cookie, but you quickly pulled them away, knowing he was trying to prolong your wait for an answer.Â
âFine,â he smiled, âI was just thinking that youâre so fucking cute when youâre stubborn.â
âTry again, loverboy,â you replied, unimpressed.Â
âItâs true!â
âItâs not, and we both know it,â you glared at him with narrowed eyes. âSo just tell me.âÂ
âIt was, actually,â he stole the cookies back from you, taking one. His eyes never left yours as he scraped the sugary vanilla icing off the top with his teeth. You both tried keeping a serious face, but that was simply never an option for the two of you. It was just the question of who was first to break.Â
You kept looking at him with your unimpressed and unconvinced look, trying hard to push back the smile, much like he was most likely.Â
âOk fine,â he bit into the biscuit. âI was just thinking, I canât believe that you even make your biscuits wet. Like, that is actually horrid.â
âAre you fucking kidding me?â You laughed, exasperated, finally cracking down on your serious look. âEddie? Seriously?â
âYes! I mean, look at it,â He pointed at the cookie you just pulled out of your drink. Half of it was darker as it soaked up the liquid, the icing slightly melting off, too. âItâs all soggy and gross, and you like that?âÂ
âYou need to get yourself checked out, Munchie.â You bit into the âsoggy and grossâ biscuit, enjoying the chocolatey infusion of the baked good.Â
âVery funny.â He slurped his hot chocolate until he drained the last sips out of the mug and placed it down on the counter, nearly pushing off a stack of plates. You werenât far behind him, finishing your own drink and placing the dish back as well. The two of you were shuffling around the small kitchen space, manoeuvring past each other until you wrapped your arms around him, engulfing him in a tight embrace. Eddie kissed the top of your head as you murmured a sweet âthank youâ.
âFor what?â He asked.Â
âFor everything.â You said against his chest. âTaking me out today, the hot chocolate, making sure I donât die from pneumonia.â
âWell, itâs still early.â He corrected your last point, and you let your teeth grace over his chest, nipping him lightly.Â
âOw!â he laughed through his shock and pain. âDid you just bite me?â
âNo.â You said, mouth right against the fabric of his shirt.Â
âNo,â Eddie mimicked your mumbling, pressing his face against your hair. âGod, youâre so annoying.â
âAm not!â you gasped. âYou are.âÂ
âI am?â He raised his brow, and stupidly, you agreed.
âYes.â
âOk, fine.â and so, you were up in the air again. âIâll show you just how annoying I can be.â With you over his shoulder once more, he brought you into his bedroom, dropping you into free fall down onto the mattress. You bounced as the springs creaked underneath.Â
The room was a mess, and you had to push an abundance of random objects off the bed as you made your way to the top of it. Shirts, underwear, folders, guitar picks, pencils and books all fell to the ground. Eddie got onto the mattress, too, falling to his knees upon it and slowly making his way to you. You were all too aware of his tactics, knowing he was trying to take the slow approach to tease you. So, instead, you tried to make yourself a bit more comfortable, propping up the pillows for a better headrest. Picking one up, you noticed the little brown notebook lying there.Â
âDear Diary, God, Harrington is so hot. I swear I just want to take his big fatââ You started making up things as you flipped the pages, but before you could read into any of the actual lyrics or campaign ideas that Eddie had jotted down, he ripped the notebook out of your hands and threw it across the room, falling somewhere onto his desk into a pile of cassettes.Â
âI hate you.â He said with a smile, his hair now tickling your cheeks as it dangled down in semi-wet strands.Â
âHate you more.â You pulled him in by the collar, kissing him passionately, continuing your chaotic yet perfect day until the late hours of the night.
the end.
my own analysis on the challenge - i feel like "my Eddie" is different each time I write him, even when writing for no particular au, but I usually I do try to make him a little bit goofy and awkward, always in on the joke and hyper and just.. .cute, ya know haha. I also always love to add in random ideas about him, so that's how we get hydrophobic!eds here, but he's also totally got a major sweet tooth, and yes, his middle name is Lorenzo. i don't make the rules.
I also feel like setting the setting as a "romantic" night will really show what people consider romantic in terms of personal preference, which should be super interesting to read.
thank you so much for reading!

How would htp!Tango go with the bit from Limited Life episode 4 when he's running from everyone?
How would it be different from the actual scene?
(not canon to HTP ofc because the timelines donât match up but HEY i like angst)
"tango!" skizz calls desperately, peering out over the ocean. he couldâve sworn heâd heard tangoâs voice when he came this way, but the range of amplification their voices get from the proximity mod can be a little tricky sometimes-
âskizz?â
tangoâs voice crackles out of skizzâs communicator; he must be in range, after all. but skizz doesnât relax just yet. crouching by the waterâs edge, he scans the waves intently. his grip tightens around his axe.
"alright, where are you, dude?" he asks, voice low. he keeps the horizon in his periphery; he can just barely make out the horde of yellow names off on the distant shore, digging and searching for tango.
âr- right below you.â tangoâs voice is shaky; probably from the adrenaline. being hunted by almost the entire server isnât exactly a picnic. âwhere- is impulse with you? or- or etho?â
skizz shakes his head, even though he knows tango canât see it. âno dude, theyâre running interference, okay, but it wonât be long before the others see me over here.â he swallows. âyou gotta let me kill you.â
thereâs a brief silence.
âokay.â tangoâs voice is barely audible. the tone of it gives skizz pause; that sounds like more than just nerves. âokay, o- okay, fine, iâm- iâm fine with that.â
âare you?â skizz asks, his brows furrowing.
âiâŚâ thereâs a shuddering exhale. âi donât- iâd rather it be you, if- if iâm honest. the others, they mightâŚâ he breaks off, making a distressed sound in the back of his throat. ây- you know.â
thereâs definitely something wrong. skizzâs heart is starting to pound, but he keeps his voice steady. âalright, yeah. this is gonna stick it to them so bad.â he lifts his communicator up and peers through its lens. âcan you give me a quick tag, buddy?â
tango doesnât reply, but skizz sees the flash of a gamer tag beneath the ocean before it vanishes again. tangoâs not taking any chances, apparently. not that skizz can blame him.
âyouâre pretty deep underwater, dude,â skizz informs him regretfully. âand i donât- ugh, i donât have my stupid shovel.â
tango inhales sharply. âi- i canât- uh, can youâŚ?â
âokay,â skizz murmurs. he knows tango wonât be harmed by water like a real blaze, but itâs uncomfortable even on the best of days and thatâd be a lot to ask of him right now. âalright, iâll come to you. stay put, okay?â
âokay,â tango whispers.
âthere a hole for me, buddy?â skizz asks, putting his axe away.
âyes.â
âalright.â skizz straightens up, folding his wing tightly against his body. even one wing will cause a lot of drag underwater and heâs already not looking forward to soggy feathers. âiâm on my way, just hang on.â
taking a deep breath, skizz dives into the ocean.
salt stings his eyes as he swims towards the sand at the bottom. itâs darker down here than heâs expecting for midday, only the faint glow from his halo allowing him to see. he starts digging as soon as he reaches the bottom, hoping heâs in the right place. heâs acutely aware of how long he can hold his breath for and the last thing he needs is a stupid drowning death to steal even more time from him-
a figure enters his field of vision, making him jolt. itâs scott, his freshly yellow timer barely visible in the deep. still holding his breath, skizz equips his axe.
scott actually rolls his eyes. âiâm not gonna kill him, donât worry.â his voice carries well underwater, and he doesnât seem to have trouble breathing. must be due to those recently acquired gills of his.
well, thatâs fortunate. skizz nods quickly and puts his axe away before resuming his digging. to his surprise, scott floats down next to him and starts helping, his webbed fingers making easy work of the sand. after a couple seconds, theyâve cleared enough sand for skizz to see a hold in the underlying stone, with a faint light beyond it. lungs burning, skizz dives for it.
he makes it through right as the first damage hits him, head breaking through the water with a gasp. kicking against the current, he finally emerges from the ocean. gravity once again takes hold of him. he flops onto the damp stone floor quite ungracefully, his wing heavy and pulling him slightly off-balance.
skizz hauls himself to his feet, dripping wet and catching his breath, and looks around the cave tangoâs carved out for himself. itâs tiny, with just three blocks between them, and lit only by the glow of tangoâs blaze rods. theyâre redder than usual and roaring with flames, whirling above his head in agitation- the way a blaze spins before it starts shooting fireballs.
tango himself doesnât seem to be doing any better. heâs crouched against a corner, his arms wrapped around his knees, claws digging into his skin. his pupils are blown, so much so that it almost makes his wide eyes look completely black. his chest is rising and falling rapidly, and the noise that comes with each breath sounds disturbingly like a blaze. his mouth hangs slightly parted as he pants, lips drawn back to show his sharp teeth- like a wolf does. but thereâs no ferocity in his expression; just sick fear.
altogether, the sight sends a chill down skizzâs spine. itâs like heâs looking at an animal; a cornered, terrified, wild animal. there have been things in the past tangoâs reacted strangely to, sure, but skizz has never seen it this bad before. god, he wishes impulse was here.
âhey, tango,â skizz says softly.
for a moment, tango just stares at skizz. then his eyes dart to the side, to the hole in the stone. belatedly, skizz realizes whatâs got tango so concerned.
âscott,â he calls carefully, keeping his gaze on tango, âjust uh, just stay out there, okay, dude?â
a dark shadow passes by the hole before vanishing. âyouâre fine, just get on with it!â
skizz swallows. he stays where he is. âtango, buddy, you okay? talk to me.â
tangoâs gaze cuts back to skizz. âis martynâŚ?â
âno, no martyn,â skizz assures him.
tango takes a shaky breath. âi killed him,â he says hoarsely. âhe- heâll want revenge. and- and the other yellows- you have to kill me, before they find me. skizz, please.â
âhey, hey, hey, itâs alright,â skizz soothes, despite the way his heart feels like itâs twisting itself into a knot. he never thought tango would fear the other players so badly; these are his friends. âyou got it. what do you- uh, how do you want me to do it?â
âTNT?â tango asks quietly. âif you light itâŚâ
âalright, yeah, i got some TNT,â skizz says, rummaging through his inventory and pulling out a block of it. âhere, uh- you wanna just take that?â
warily, tango teaches a clawed hand out and takes the TNT. he sets it down right in front of him, flush against his folded knees.
âtango?â skizz prompts gently, pulling out his flint and steel. âi need to hear you say it, buddy.â
tango shudders. âdo it,â he whispers, turning his face away. âyou can kill me, you- i- i just want it to be over.â
âokay, thank you,â skizz murmurs, taking a cautious step forward. âthatâs right, dude. after this, itâll all be over. iâll come find you at spawn, okay?â
âokay."
âiâll see ya there. now, count to five for me?"
tango swallows. âoneâŚâ
skizz lights the TNT. the sound of sizzling fills the air as the TNT starts to flash.
"t- two..."
putting the flint and steel away, skizz turns and dives back through the hole, into the ocean. tango's voice still sounds from his communicator.
"three..."
kicking madly, skizz swims towards the surface, where scott is waiting.
"four-"
BOOM.
skizz breaks the surface, gasping for breath. he glances back down and sees a new crater at the bottom of the ocean, water and sand churning into a froth. treading water with one arm, he holds his communicator up and looks at the chat.
Tango blew up.
scott gives skizz a sidelong look. "i know how hard it is to let a teammate kill you," he says, his voice low, "but that seemed..."
"scott, buddy," skizz says tiredly, heading for the shore, "keep this between us, will ya?"

Part 4 of this (I'm sorry, idk what I'm doing but so many people are interested in this and I'm trying to give you a proper au.)
So the crown was made by dark magic and making the curse required the sacrifice of an entire... kingdom... Would taking it off also require a sacrifice?
There's also something off about the translation, how come it doesn't say how to do the spell or undo it? Where is the rest of this? Maybe I can find something in the celestial realm, but I can't leave Moonpie alone here. They might return to take him and he can't protect himself... Maybe I can get MK to watch over him-
_"Wukong! Showers!" Macaque called from the hot bath tub, it's like a little swimming pool or a jacuzzi, being king is great.
_"Coming!" Wukong loves this. He can't wait to have Macaque wash his hair and untangle all the knots.
After Macaque lost his memories they shower together almost everyday. Sure, when Macaque first walked in on him in the showers he almost had a heart attack, but now that he's gotten used to it like before, it's so great and relaxing. To most creatures it's considered rude or invasion of privacy, but not to monkeys, they do that to show their bonds and love to each other. No one understands that, only Macaque does.
_"Where have you been? Get in." Macaque said already sitting in the water.
_"Sorry about that, little ones were having a fight." Wukong says undressing,
_"Again? These guys create trouble when there's none."
_"I know, right?" Wukong said relaxing in the warm water,
_"Don't get too comfy, someone needs to groom my furr."
_"So demanding." Even though he said that, this is Wukong's favourite part about the showers, Macaque loves his furr, sure it's not as thick and silky as it used to be but Wukong will make sure it gets back to its previous glory.
_"Hey Sunny..." Macaque spoke after a while, picking at his tail,
_"Yeh Moony?" It's been so long since Macaque used that nickname for him, he can't get used to it, his heart will explode.
_"I was wondering... Would it be okay if you take me to see the kid and his friends."
_"Wh-Why?"
_"I want to ask them something."
_"You can ask me."
_"I know, but you won't answer."
_"What are you talking about? I always answer."
_"No, you never do. I don't even know the kid's name because you won't tell me and won't let me meet him to ask!"
_"It's MK. Just calm down, no need to be so angry about it."
_"I am angry, Wukong. Why won't you tell me anything?! Why does he have your staff? Why is he radiating your energy?! Why is he even allowed to come here?! Is he-" Macaque takes a deep breath, "Is he yours?"
_"What? NO! nonononono no, he's not, he was just born from the same rock as me, that's all."
_"What?"
_"Listen, I gave him the staff because I want him to be my successor."
_"A successor? You're immortal, why would you need that?"
_"Because... Because I'm tired." Wukong let down his glamour as he said that and Macaque could see all his scars, it was silent for a moment,
_"oh Wukong..." Macaque watched in horror, he approached slowly in case his sun wanted him to stop, "life hasn't been kind to you, has it?" Macaque held his face in his hands,
_"..." Wukong just melted in Macaque's warmth as he kissed his scars, gently, one by one,
_"Who did this?" Macaque asked, looking in his king's eyes.
Wukong saw it, the same murderous eyes his moon had when he first saw the monk use the fillet on him. Wukong doesn't blame him, he had the same look on his face when he saw his moon drenched in blood and those assholes trying to abduct him. He'll kill them when he finds them.
_"He's gone, been dead for years now."
_"Hm. Lucky." Macaque said, a bit of disappointment in his voice.
_"Heh, forget about him, just, stay with me okay?"
_"Where would I go without you?" Macaque hugged Wukong, bringing him closer to his chest.
But you did, you left, and I didn't know where you were, you only came when the world was ending then disappeared again. But it's ok now, You can't leave. I won't let you.
_"Hey, do you think we'll have matching scars?" Macaque asked jokingly,
_"Why? Does it hurt?" Wukong yanked himself out of the hugg and held Macaque's head, is the crown crushing his skull?!!!!
_"No, it doesn't," Macaque held his hands, "I can't feel it most of the time, only when I try to use my powers. I was just wondering if it'll leave a mark, and then we can have matching scars."
_"Not unless you can pluck my eye out."
_"No use, it'll just regenerate."
_"Yeh, that would happen." Wait-
_"Let's get out of this shower, it feels suffocating and I'm hungry." Macaque got out of the tub, "Let's go."
My eyes regenerate, can I give him one-
_"Wukong!"
_"A! You go first, I'll just wash a little more then fallow you."
_"Alright, but just wash up, I'll groom your furr inside." Macaque said putting a towel on,
_"Ok." he gave Macaque a little smile as he left.

Made for Me
Alex Blake x Reader
Summary: After risking your life to save a victim, Alex shows you the comfort you need. Soulmate AU. Covers a square for @prentiss-theoremâs bingo!
Warnings: Typical BAU case talk, mentions of violence. Hurt/comfort. Slight angst.
A/N: I just thought Alex Blake deserved her own Soulmate AU, so I wrote one. Iâd absolutely love to know what yinz think because I got SO carried away while writing this. But, I am happy with how it turned out. As always, feedback is always appreciated! Thank you<3

âWhat were you thinking?â Hotch gritted through his teeth, clearly trying not to lose his temper entirely. You knew he was more frustrated than angry, and you supposed he had every right to be. Instead of heading back to the precinct to wrap up an excruciating case, you were sitting on the back bumper of an ambulance, nursing a fresh oxygen tank, drenched and freezing. âWell?â
âOh, that wasnât rhetorical?â You quipped, moving the mask away from your face. âFigured it was a nice evening for a swim,â dripping in sarcasm.
âThis isnât the time.â Hotch snapped, rolled his eyes, and shot you a stern look. You werenât having it, though, wishing until you were at least dry to reprimand you. You looked at him, disgust washing over you.
âWell, I was thinking about the unconscious, tied-up, redhead Nichols tossed off the dock, when none of the women in the county missing reports had red hair! He abducted her this morning, Hotch, she hadnât even been missing long enough to file a report!â
âYou unnecessarily risked your own life to ârescueâ a dead body from fourty degree water,â he barks back, not thrilled with your response. âThe ME said she wonât be able to verify it until the autopsy, but sheâs almost certain the victim was dead before she hit the water. Your decision was reckless and uncalc-â
âAnd what if she hadnât been?â You interrupt. âWhat if she had still been alive and she drowned, huh? What then?â You knew you shouldnât have been pushing his buttons like you were, but then again, he came in swinging. âI watched him toss her in the river and reach for his gun, Blake and I fired, and when he went down, I dove in after her. You may disagree, but I would do it again without hesitation.â You stood firm, reminding him that you were not the inexperienced agent you once were.
âIâd rather have river rescue only looking for one body as opposed to two. Get some rest. Wheels up at 8.â
You watched Hotch as he walked away and stopped to talk to Alex. Alex. She witnessed everything. She was still somewhat new on the team, but the two of you clicked instantly. You could listen to her talk about everything and nothing, for hours on end, and be simply enthralled every second. And though she was older than you, you had a lot of mutual interests. You also thought she was beautiful. For a moment, you wondered if she could be your soulmate, but that thought was quickly forgotten when you reminded yourself that she was married, and that almost no one actually finds their soul mate. You knew you werenât lucky enough to be the one in a million. Besides, you and Alex had been working in tandem for the past month, and though you canât recall specifics, youâre certain the two of you have touched at some point in passing, and you lacked a soulmark.
Dylan Nichols, the unsub, had been one of the lucky ones. His luck, however, ran out when his soulmate had an affair, left him, married the other man a few months later, and moved to Prague. Heartbroken and enraged, Nichols began abducting and murdering surrogates. Six of his seven victims had similar physical features to his estranged soulmate. The seventh woman, Anna, fell victim to his very rapid and extreme escalation. It was an exhausting case, and though you donât enjoy having to play the role of executioner, you knew this was probably the best outcome.
âYou look cold,â Alex said, catching your attention and breaking your train of thought, raking her eyes over your visibly shivering figure. Without another word, she held up a blanket, unfolded it, and wrapped it around your shoulders. âHere, I found this in the back of the SUV. It wonât dry your clothes, but it should help keep the wind off you until we get back to the hotel.â She smoothed out the blanket where it was lying on your shoulders, allowing her hands to linger for just a moment. She would be lying if she said she wasnât struck with terror when you jumped into the river to save the victim. Even though it was spring, the water temperature was still near freezing. It was close to midnight if that hadnât been enough, meaning the ordinarily murky water was pitch black.
âThanks,â you said, grinning, trying not to focus too hard on Alexâs lingering hands. She was gentle, but firm. Possessive, almost. You examined her face as she took a seat beside you. She was trying to hide the worry, but you could see right through her. âYou think Iâm an idiot, donât you?â You asked, preparing for her to lecture you just like Hotch.
âI think your dedication to your job is admirable,â she said, her gentle tone did not falter, âJust donât make a habit of scaring me like that, okay?â She grinned, one hand still on your shoulder. Whether or not Alex would admit it, the physical contact was grounding her after the intense showdown with the unsub. She cared about you, she reminded herself that you were okay. âIâm going to go start the SUV, get it warmed up for you. Finish up with the paramedics and we can head back to the hotel.â
âYouâre too good to me, Blake,â your chuckled, cracking a small grin, âThank you, seriously. Iâll be there soon.â She smiled at you for a few seconds longer before she stood up and made her way to the car. You smiled as you covered your face with the oxygen mask, thinking only of the warm SUV (and Alex Blake) that awaited you.
~
The paramedics released you shortly thereafter. Alex drove you back to the hotel, but not before she stopped at the convenience store a few blocks away. You had been so lost in your own thoughts that you hadnât realized you stopped. You didnât even realize the car was in park until Alex closed her car door and walked into the store without a word. When Alex returned, she placed two small, styrofoam cups in your respective cup holders.
âWhatâs this?â You asked, picking up the cup and soaking in its warmth.
âI figured we could use some hot chocolate. You especially. Itâs shitty convenience store hot chocolate, but itâs what I have to offer at the moment,â she said, âWhen we get back to Virginia, Iâll make you the best coco youâve ever had.â
âBe careful, Blake,â you joked, âYou may end up stuck with me at this rate. Thank you, I didnât realize you were a world class hot chocolate chef.â Not that that was the worst thought in the world, spending the rest of your days with Alex. You imagined they would be filled with domesticity: Sunday grocery store trips, evenings in bed reading the same book (youâd buy two copies, of course) and comparing notes along the way, and people watching on the front porch together while you had your morning coffee. It felt easy, existing with Alex. She brought you a peace that only existed with her, and it was unlike anything you had ever known. Such a stark contrast from the day to day chaos of your job.
âYou think Iâd mind?â She asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking. âAnd I have to keep you on your toes somehow. The recipe is from my mother-in-law. Apparently James used to love it as a kid, but lost the taste for it as he grew older.â James. Right. The husband. Jealousy washed over you, and you quickly reminded yourself that she wasnât yours. You didnât understand how you formed such a connection with Alex in the month she had been with the BAU, but you felt drawn to her from the moment she walked into the bullpen. She was, undoubtedly, the most beautiful woman you had ever seen, and when you heard her voice, you thought you had died and gone to heaven. You wouldnât say you were in love with Alex, but you were falling for her. There was no denying that.
You wondered if James was her soulmate, if she had a soulmark that beautifly painted her skin. It wasnât something people talked about very often, many not even believing in such a thing, because of itâs rarity. You werenât sure if it was appropriate to ask either, so you opted to stay quiet.
The ride back to the hotel was silent. You were too lost in your own thoughts to hold a conversation, and Alex could tell. This was a behavior you hadnât exhibited before. She hoped you were just exhausted and that you hadnât been traumatized by the evenings events, though she knew it was fueling your thoughts. She didnât want to pry, but she was worried, so she parked the car and spoke up. âWhatâs on your mind, Agent?â She lightly teased, hoping it would help you open up, âAnd you canât tell me nothing, because I can tell itâs something.â
âI guess,â you paused, wanting to provide a coherent thought while still being vague, âItâs the whole soulmate thing. I guess I just think itâs a little fucked up the universe handcrafted the perfect other half for every single person on Earth but couldnât even make the bond between them unbreakable.â
âI supposed Iâd have to agree with you,â she replied, pulling into the hotel parking lot âI also think itâs a bit cruel that the chances of finding ones soulmate is as low as it is. At least give people a chance.â You chuckled at her sentiment.
âIs James your soulmate?â The words are out of your mouth before you can even begin to debate asking her. Your eyes go wide and your stomach twists into a knot. Panicking, you manage, âFuck, you donât have to answer that. Thatâs super personal and I shouldnât have asked.â Alex didnât seem to be phased by your question, though.
âNo, heâs not. And thatâs okay,â she smiled, âBut, secretly, there is a part of me that hopes I do someday.â
âMe too,â you replied, âEver since I was little. Iâve always remained realistic about the odds of it actually happening, but I allow myself to dream a little.â You chuckled for a moment before lifting your styrofoam cup and pushing it towards Alex, âHereâs to dreaming, cheers.â Alex lifted her cup, bumping it into yours with a laugh.
âCheers.â You both take hefty swigs of your now lukewarm hot chocolate before heading into the hotel for the night.
~
Conveniently, you had been bunked up with Alex for this case, so she was able to ensure you made it to bed safely. She walked you into the hotel room, her hand at your lower back, guiding you forward.
âGo take a warm shower and get out of those wet clothes. Youâll feel much better, trust me.â She took the blanket from you as you unwrapped yourself, and placed some fresh towels in your hand. You felt your eyes begin to well up and burn; the care she was showing you was unlike any youâve received before. You felt safe and loved. You quickly turned your head to try and hide your emotion and made your way to the bathroom.
âThank you again, Alex. I hope you know how much I appreciate your kindness.â you said before closing the bathroom door and clicking the lock.
Finally.
You were alone. Tears began to stream down your face as you looked at your reflection in the oversized bathroom mirror. You looked like hell. You were damp, muddy, and cold to the touch. Your lips, though returning to their normal pink, were still a light shade of blue around portions of their perimeter. All in another days work you think to yourself. You open the door to the walk-in shower and turn the water on to let it heat up. You inhaled deeply and closed your eyes as you began to remove your soiled clothes. Once your shirt and slacks were off, you made your way back over to the mirror to check for any cuts or bruises. Amongst your dirty form, however, sat two golden yellow and orange hand prints on either shoulder.
It canât be. You stop dead in your tracks, unsure of what to do next. Instinctually, you rubbed your hand over your shoulder, trying to clean the print off, but it wasnât working. Then you jumped into the shower, thinking the hot water and cheap hotel soap might do the trick. Of course that didnât work, ruining your hopes it was just a sick prank or some sort. They were your soulmarks, and Alex was your soulmate. You knew instantly, remembering how she covered you up earlier. There was no denying it. Now you were faced with the task of telling her. You know it isnât something you can hide forever. Panic takes over you. You know she wants to know who her soulmate is, and she deserved that, but you also know that she wouldnât choose you. She said it herself, James wasnât her soulmate, but she was okay with it. A knock at the door grabbed your attention.
âEverything okay in there?â She yelled,â Youâve been a while. I just started to worry, thatâs all.â You hadnât realized how long you had been in the shower, and now you felt guilty for keeping Alex up so late.
âAll good, sorry, Iâll be out in a few.â You quickly turned the shower off and grabbed a towel to dry off. As you walked from the shower to the bathroom sink, you realized you forgot to grab your pajamas, so you were going to have to face this head on and nude. âFuck,â you whisper to yourself. You looked back at your now clean reflection, admiring the marks on your shoulders. You couldnât help but smile. Though you knew it would hurt like hell, you knew Alex deserved to know the truth. You took a deep breath and made your way into the room.
Alex was sat on her bed, hair pulled back in a clip, glasses hanging low on her nose, reading the book she usually saves for the plane ride home. She looked beautiful. You enjoyed this image of Alex for a moment longer. âAlex?â You said softly, drawing her attention away from her novel. She looked up at you and smiled. Her eyes flickered to each of your shoulders and then back to your eyes. Wordlessly, she placed her book on the nightstand, followed by her glasses, and stood from the bed. She slowly made her way over to you, never breaking eye contact. You were frozen in place, thoroughly studying her face. She didnât seem to be upset in any capacity, nor was her emotion negative. She seemed curious and, dare you say, excited? The tightness in your chest loosened and your face flushed red.
Once in front of you, she paused for a moment before slowly raising her hands and placing them on your shoulders, perfectly covering your soulmarks.
âI knew it,â She whispered, smiling softly as tears prickled her eyes. âI knew you were made for me.â She moved one hand to cup your cheek, while the other remained on your mark. Alex had thought once or twice that you might have been her soulmate. There was no denying the connection she had with you, nor the attraction she felt towards you. And though she didnât talk about it, she knew her marriage to James was over before she even started at the BAU. She cared about James, yes, but the two had grown apart over the years. She loved him, but she was no longer in love with him. You, however.
âIâm not sure what to say,â you replied, your smile wavering slightly. She was everything you wanted, but she was a married woman and your colleague, no less. You knew what you wanted, but you werenât sure she would want the same. Would she think you were worth it? Alex noticed your hesitation, and pulled you closer. Her grip on you was possessive, as if she feared you would vanish from her arms.
âTell me what youâre thinking, sweetheart.â You melted at the sweetness in her voice
and her choice of nickname. You would do anything she told you to, and that was a fact. âI need to know whatâs going on in your head so that I can help.â She was so gentle. You knew if she rejected you it was going to hurt like hell and you didnât want to risk losing a great friend.
âI donât want to lose you, Alex. I know this changes things, but youâre too good of a friend to risk losing. You donât even have to tell James. If you donât have a soulmark already, I just wonât touch you and itâll all be okay. But, I would be lying if I told you it wouldnât hurt me. I care about you so much.â As you choked out your thoughts, you felt yourself begin to cry, but you didnât stop yourself. Alex felt her heart breaking. âI wasnât even going to tell you. I was going to try and hide it, but then I remembered what you told me in the car, and I didnât think it would be right. Iâm so sorry, Alex.â
âSweetheart,â she says, interrupting your rambling, âHold me.â
âWhat?â You werenât sure you heard her correctly.
âI said,â she enunciated, closing the already small gap between the two of you, âHold me. Please.â She grabbed ahold of your wrists and slowly wrapped your arms around her body. Your hands settled on her back knowing her soulmark would appear, and you pulled her close anyway, not that she could get much closer. You relaxed at her touch, as her hands returned to your shoulders and she rested her forehead against yours. âI want this,â she said, âUs. You and I against the world.â
âAlex,â you paused, âAre you sure? You have a husband and a stable life. Iâm just me. This doesnât have to mean anything if you donât want it to.â
âIâve been falling for you since the first case we worked on together.â she jumped in before you could get another word out, âI donât think Iâve been more sure of anything. Besides, only an idiot would pass up a life with their other half.â She smiled and you followed suit. You were shocked that she felt the same, considering it seemed all odds were against you. The two of you stood in each others arms there for a few minutes, basking in the love and excitement of the moment, before you broke the silence.
âAlex?â You asked.
âYes, sweetheart?â
âKiss me,â You said. And without hesitation, Alex cupped your face and her lips were on yours. They were soft, like the fluffiest pillows money could buy. You fit perfectly together. No other kiss had ever felt anything like it, and you could tell Alex was pouring her heart and soul into it. You knew she was trying to tell you that this was real for her. You didnât need much convincing though. Breaking the kiss, you smiled at Alex, and she smiled back.
âLetâs get some rest,â she whispered. And you did, better than you probably ever had before, thanks to Alex. She had fallen asleep laying on your chest with an arm around your waist. When you woke up the next morning, she was still in the same spot. You felt whole knowing that you had she wanted you just as you wanted her. Though you didnât like to think about the future too much, in that moment, you knew there wasnât anything you couldnât do with Alex by your side.

Prologue | Adam | Secrets | Lilith |
Pairing:Adam x Eve
C.4
Confessions
Eve hadn't seen Lilith in a while and she really believed that was for the best so she started spending more time with Adam and she honestly really enjoyed his company.
She had never doubted her husband again although there were days when she really wanted to ask him if what Lilith had said was true.
There were afternoons when they would go for a walk together holding hands
This afternoon they had decided to go to the lake to swim for a while until they decided to go out and sit under the shade of a tree.
Adam began to play his guitar, that instrument had been a "gift" from God after he saw the instrument that Adam had improvised a while ago and it was so amazing that Adam wouldn't let go.Although sometimes he played beautiful melodies for her and only her.
Eve listened attentively to her husband playing while she made wreaths from the flowers around her, this was one of the few moments when they had true peace of mind.
Adam stopped playing and Eve applauded as usual.
"You really have talent, Adam."
Adam smiled.
"Well, I think you're only saying that because you're my wife."
Eve laughed lightly and shrugged to which Adam gasped in offense causing a laugh from Eve.
"You are the worst"Adam crossed his arms and pouted like a little boy.
"Ouch, that hurt me." Eve put her hand on his chest, feigning pain at his words.
Adam rolled his eyes and felt Eve's hand on his.
"I really think you're the best, I mean you care so much about me and you do a lot of things for me and I feel like I owe you too much."
Adam finally looked at Eve, the sun behind her illuminated her, giving her a truly angelic appearance, her blonde hair and her green eyes lit up, giving her a beautiful view in front of him.He had never seen Lilith the same way, not even when everything was working between them.
"Oh Eve you don't owe me anything I care about you because you are my wife and I love you"
Eve smiled and kissed his cheek. "I love you too."
They stayed under the tree for a while longer looking at the sky until Adam spoke.
"Let's go for a walk, darling"Adam stood up and extended his hand to his wife to help her up.
They walked for a while through almost the entire garden until they reached the place where Lilith was supposed to be. Eve got nervous thinking about that, she didn't want to see her, not now,Adam didn't seem to notice his wife's nervousness and continued walking.
Creak
Adam stopped when he heard a noise behind them and turned quickly, putting his wife behind him to protect her it was probably nothing but he had to be alert.
In the shadow under a tree he managed to see violet eyes that he knew well and that at some point he had adored like an idiot.
Finally she came out of the shadows and he could see her again in a long time there was the person he least wanted to see and that was because he held so much resentment towards her.
She approached with a mischievous smile and Adam made Eve stay even further behind him.
"Hey, it's been so long since we saw each other, Eve."
Eve gulped as she felt Adam tense up. Adam looked at Lilith with a frown and suspicion while Lilith smiled at them.
"Oh come on,don't tell me that you were silent."Lilith smiled at them with malice and mockery.
"What do you want Lilith?"Adam spoke with a dry tone making Lilith let out a small laugh.
"Anyway,I don't want to talk to you but to Eve."
Adam tensed at Lilith's words and made Eve step back further.
"My wife has nothing to talk to you about, stay away from her Lilith"
Lilith pretended to pout.
"Oh come on Eve are you really letting this idiot speak for you?"
Eve came out from behind Adam's back and glared at Lilith.
"I'm here, what do you want, Lilith?"Her tone of voice was dry despite being completely nervous.
"Oh Eve, why did that tone make me think we were friends?"Lilith put her hand on her chest and pouted.
Adam, who was now behind Eve, was so confused, maybe they knew each other but Eve had never mentioned it, maybe when she was going to walk he was with her.
"We're not friends after everything you said, you expect us to be."Eve spoke as she looked Lilith in the eyes without looking away.
"Oh Eve what I said was true I only want the best for you and Adam is not in that category"Lilith smiled innocently at Eve while she gritted her teeth.
"You're lying, you just want me to doubt my husband. If that were true, he would have told me."
Lilith laughed making Eve even more upset.
"Oh Eve, so sweet and innocent, if Adam hasn't told you the truth, that's because he's a big coward. I'm surprised you haven't realized, after all, you're his wife."Lilith looked at them mockingly and made a face.
"I guess they are made for each other, they are both liars, you know, you and I are so similar, although I would never be with that idiot, I'm sure that Adam doesn't love you and the only thing he can see when he sees you is me, after all, I'm better than you."
Slap
Eve had slapped Lilith and was now looking down on her while Lilith had her hand on her cheek. Lilith raised her hand to slap Eve but she stopped her hand.
"Listen carefully, Lilith."
Eve spat her name in disgust.
"You and I are not equal and you are not better than me, you think you are better than me and you try to make me doubt my husband and then you come to tell me that he thinks of you when he sees me If you were better than me, heaven would not have created me and would have come to look for you, but look what happened, they replaced you.So don't think it's a big deal and don't talk like that about me or my husband again, don't you care if we're liars?Get over it you already left it no,now you can keep your dirty, disgusting mouth shut and stay away from us"
Lilith was speechless as she looked at Eve with annoyance and Adam was confused. He didn't know Eve could have that temperament.
"Let's go Adam"
Eve maintained an annoyed expression as she grabbed her husband's hand and dragged him away from Lilith.
"Little bitch."Lilith spat in annoyance as she watched them walk away, this wouldn't stay like this.

ââ・
After being far enough away from Lilith, Eve let go of her husband's hand and continued walking while muttering things that Adam didn't quite understand.
Adam was so confused and upset, first he didn't understand how Lilith said that she and Eve knew each other and on the other hand he was upset by Lilith's words and why Eve,she hadn't told him anything, although he hadn't told her anything about Lilith either.
They went their separate ways and Adam decided to go next to the tree near the lake, that was his favorite place when he was looking for peace.
He didn't know where Eve was but maybe it wasn't the time to look for her. He began to play his guitar while he reflected on what had happened.
He was playing some melodies for a while when he finished he heard applause,he looked up and met the smile of Eve who was applauding. Adam smiled back and stood up.
"Eve."His voice was barely a whisper.
"Before you say anything, I wanted to apologize, I shouldn't have told you everything."
Eve looked down while playing with her hands.
"No, Eve, I should have told you everything too"
Eve smiled and took his hand.
"Well we can start talking now."
Adam nodded and they sat near the lake looking at their reflection in the water and for a moment there was silence.
"So where should we start?"Adam spoke as he looked at Eve.
"Well Lilith mentioned something about being the first woman."
Adam sighed.
"Okay then, if you want to start from there, I'll tell you everything."

"And then she started saying that you were an idiot, that I shouldn't listen to you and that I had to make my own decisions."
Adam had told him everything about Lilith and their separation and Eve began to tell him how she had met Lilith and why she was going to walk alone in the afternoons as well as the last conversation she had had with her.
"That day when I came back early I wanted to ask you if it was true but I was afraid to know"Eve looked down with a shy smile.
"Look at me Eve."
Adam lifted her chin so she could look him in the eyes.
"It's not your fault, I wasn't honest with you either, but I didn't want you to leave me after you knew the truth. I didn't want to lose you because I care a lot about you."
Eve smiled and caressed his cheek.
"Oh Adam, I'll never leave you. I think I've told you that many times. I couldn't stay away from you."
Adam kissed her forehead and he pulled her into his arms to hold her close to him and make sure she was really there and that it wasn't just a dream.
"I would do anything for you Eve."
Eve laughed lightly and Adam kissed her head lovingly.
I would give anything for you darling it is a promise.
And for a moment they were happy in each other's arms although that happiness would not last forever.

"And what did you see?"
Lucifer had been spying on Adam and Eve waiting for the right moment to offer the apple to Eve so he gasped when he saw them hugging.
"Well it seems like they really love each other"
Lilith sighed.
"I told you it wouldn't be easy"
Lucifer kissed Lilith's cheek and smiled.
"Don't worry, darling, it will work, I'm sure."

So I like reading things about Alastor but I'm writing an Adam story so I'm thinking about doing an Alastor story but I'm not sure yet.
I hope you enjoy this chapter I think I didn't like it hahaha and I wrote it.
And in case you haven't noticed, I'm a firm believer that Adam did love Eve.

Unexpected: Part Ten
Final Part!
Warnings: Graphic Birth
The days had passed slowly since you and Art got home. Not a bad slow, it was nice to relax and spend time together before your lives changed forever. You were in a better mood since Art had seemingly found the cure for your back pain; being in the water. You would swim in the ocean almost everyday to relieve the pain in your body.
Today your good mood faded because you were officially 41 weeks pregnant. That meant you were a week overdue. You knew it could happen youâve seen it happen, but now that it was happening to you it was a whole different story. The worst part is that there is a possibility that it could last a whole other week before doctors would induce you. You were over it. You and Art had been trying to induce labor naturally, going on long walks, herbal teas, bouncing on a yoga ball but it wasnât working.
It was nighttime and you and Art sat in your living room. You were miserably bouncing on the ball googling more ways to induce labor.
âThis one says to try pineappleâ Art suggested leaning over the counter reading off his computer, you didnât reply you just stood up walked to the fridge. You took out a pineapple, luckily you had one because it was one of Arts favorite foods.
âBabe I couldâve gotten it for you.â He told you smiling a little, you again didnât reply. You were too tired and too determined. âYou know you could try to relax, just try enjoying these last few days.â Art suggested trying to be helpful but thatâs not how you took it,
âWell thatâs easy for you to say Art sheâs not moving around inside of you all the time, or kicking you in your ribs, or making your back and feet and everything else hurtâ you scoffed giving him a death stare. He got the message,
âYouâre right, Iâm sorry. I have no idea how you feel or how frustrated you must be.â He apologized and kissed your hair. You looked at him your eyes softened and you leaned into him a little as your way of telling him it was okay. He smiled at you and then took a piece of pineapple from the cutting board,
âArt donât touch my pineapple!â You swatted his hand away, he looked surprised and put it back. You didnât feel bad he knew better than to touch your food this late in your pregnancy.
âDo you really want to help me?â You asked him with puppy dog eyes,
âOf course baby, whatever you needâ he told you, he was happy you asked for his help because he loved helping you.
âOkay. Iâm gonna finish this entire pineapple and then weâre gonna go upstairs and have sex.â You told him casually while taking a bite of your fruit. Art was taken aback, sex was the last thing you seemed like you wanted to do, he stuttered a little before speaking
âUh- o-okay. Um are you⌠sure?â He asked rather confused.
âYou put her in there and youâre gonna get her out Donaldson. What,do you not want to fuck me?â You asked him, even though you were huge art still found you hotter than ever, he swallowed
âNo of course I do-â
âAlright then letâs go.â You interrupted licking your fingers. Art felt his erection grow in his shorts it had been a long time since you two had been intimate he didnât think heâd last long. He followed you upstairs to the bedroom.
You and Art had very hot slow side by side sex, the only way you really could these days. You came a few times and art came inside of you to hopefully get labor going. You couldnât wait until you could have normal sex again.
âWhat a great way to celebrate.â Art said pulling out and rolling to his back,
âCelebrate what?â You asked also rolling over to face him, Art looked at you confused
âMy um ⌠birthday?â He said trying not to make you feel bad for totally forgetting. How could you have forgotten your best friends birthday,
âFuck how could I forget! Art Iâm so sorry-â you felt yourself getting worked up, he could tell and tried to calm you down
âHey itâs ok y/n. We have so much going on, this year has been insane donât worry about it. Itâs really no big deal I promise.â He said stroking your face gently. You tried giving him a smile,
âIâm still sorry babe. I love you.â You said kissing him âIâll get you a present I promise.â
âYouâre the only present I need my love.â He kissed your forehead. You didnât have time to hate yourself for forgetting his birthday because you felt a pain in your stomach. Fuck. You winced. Art pulled away and looked at you.
âYou might be getting a present anyways.â You said trying not to panic. Art stared blankly, âI think it worked.â Art still looked at you dumbfounded. âArt I think Iâm in labor!âYou said as clear as you could be, finally his face changed to slight panic,
âWell. . Um.. what do we, how-â Art struggled to find words his face was as white as your sheets. Usually you would be the one to keep you both calm but you didnât feel calm.
âUhh do we have everything?â You said stuttering as well, you have almost two years of nursing school under your belt but you couldnât remember anything important right now, art shot out of bed and went to the closet and grabbed a bag
âYes! We have everything readyâ he said putting the bag on the bed, he looked to you for further instructions
âUm.. then letâs uh⌠go for a walk.â You said finally finding words, now art looked really confused. His mouth hung open âSo we can make it go faster. Oh and time them! Can you time how far apart they are?â You said getting out of bed and putting clothes on. Now you were in go mode,
âDo you really think itâs a good idea to go for a walk?â Art asked as he put a shirt on
âYes these things take forever especially the first time. We canât go to the hospital until they are five minutes apart. I donât want to just sit here waiting around I want to speed this up.â You said finding your shoes.
âBut-â Art started to protest but you stopped him
âART! You are going to listen to me right now! Iâm so terrified right now and I need you to just do what I say okay?â You yelled with a voice crack. Art nodded his head slowly and you smiled âokay then come help me tie my shoesâ you ordered and he rushed to your side to help you.
You and Art had walked around your neighborhood for about an hour. Surprisingly things were moving fast⌠maybe faster than you would have liked.
You were hunched over with one hand under your belly and the other grabbing arts shoulder for support, he stood right by you.
âShit this fucking hurts⌠I knew it would but itâs way worse than anyone could possibly imagine.â You groaned as the contraction finished. Art grimaced, he hated seeing you his best friend and love of his life in pain. He was the biggest empath.
âCan I do anything else for you baby?â He asked pushing your hair from your face. You shook your head,
âHow far apart are they now?â You asked standing up straight again. He looked at his watch
âFour minutesâ he said then paused, his eyes went wide and so did yours and you looked at each other âfuck! Four minutes?!â He said looking at his watch again panicked
âArt I said tell me when it was at six!â You yelled also panicking.
âShit Iâm sorry I just- I - I didnât-â he couldnât find words he put and hand behind his neck,
âLetâs go we gotta go!â You barked at him. You were a few minutes from your house, youâd have to walk back and then drive to the hospital. This was not how you had planned this, how was it going so fast?
By the time you made it back to your house and to the car the contractions were three minutes apart. Now you both were panicking. You prayed that you would make it to the hospital because no way were you having a baby in Arts car. His new car. You waited by the car while Art went to lock the house. As you stood there you felt something leak down your leg. Fuck. Your water had just broken,
âReady?â Art said rushing to the car, he came to your side to open the door, you just looked at him with fear in your eyes âwhat?â He asked looking at you and then scanning your body
âMy water broke.â You said a little above a whisper, surprisingly Art didnât panic he was the one who stayed calm
âWell then we should go.â He said holding your face forcing out a smile. You felt another contraction hit you hard, it was worse than any of the others. You yelled in pain and grabbed Art to hold you up.
âArt I donât think we are going to make itâ
âWhat? What do you mean yes we will come onâ he said trying to get you into the car but you wouldnât.
âIâd rather have the baby here than in your carâ you said firmly, you knew you were going to have the baby soon. You didnât have time. It terrified you but you didnât have time to be scared
âY/n I-â
âArt! Just trust me on this please, Iâm the one whoâs been a nurse and is in medical school so you have to listen and stay calm.â You begged. Art took a deep breath and closed his eyes
âLetâs go insideâ he said helping you walk to the house.
You barely made it to the house, half way there you felt the urge to push. The baby was coming now. Art pretty much had to pick you up to get you Inside. As soon as you got through the door you were on the floor with Art next to you.
âFuck. Itâs happening now Artâ you cried,
âOkay - Okay what do I do?â He asked frantically.
âGet something to grab her with like a towel make sure itâs clean okay?â He didnât respond he just shot up and ran to get one. He was back in seconds. You had taken your pants off and were against the wall sitting down.
âOkay, can you see her head?â You asked out of breath, you had never felt so much pain in your life. Somehow with all the chaos you werenât even focused on the pain.
âYes I see it. Oh my god I see it.â Art said he was in awe of the strength you had. You nodded and took a deep breath
âN-next contraction Iâm gonna push again⌠tell me when her head is out.â You directed, Art listened to you closely, he was calm now and he was ready. As ready as a freshmen twenty year old could be, while listening to your screams of pain,
âIâm so proud of you y/n your doing amazingâ he told you starting to get teary eyed. You couldnât believe this was happening, you were terrified and so was Art,
âI love youâ you said catching your breath waiting for the next contraction
âI love you so muchâ you felt another contraction rip through you
âOkay nowâ you could barely get at words, you started pushing, you yelped out in pain. You wished you were in a hospital with drugs and doctors so your boyfriend could just hold your hand rather than deliver your baby.
âThe heads almost out keep goingâ Art encouraged âitâs out. Oh my god itâs out!â He cried. You felt like you were going to pass out but you needed to get her out, that was your only focus. You centered yourself and looked back at Art
âOkay now..â you regretted what your were about to say you knew how bad it would hurt but it was the safest way to get her out quickly ânow reach in and grab her shoulders, Iâm gonna push and she will come out so be ready to catch her okay?â You instructed through gritted teeth. Art nodded along with fear in his eyes. Art did as you said and you screamed out in pain, he stopped he looked like he was going to cry
âNo keep going!â This was the worst pain youâve ever felt. Art hated seeing you like this he felt so bad but he followed instructions. You screamed as the baby came out. Art caught the tiny baby in his hands and a loud cry filled the air
âYou did it. Jesus y/n you did it. Thank you. Thank you.â Art cried he had never been so in love, he couldnât believe how proud he was of you for practically delivering your own baby. He had never seen such a smart strong badass women before.
Art brought the baby closer to you and you both held her in your arms and cried.
âArt sheâs so beautiful.â You sobbed looking at the life you and your best friend created.
âI canât believe you just did that baby. That was insane.â He smiled kissing your head and touching your foreheads together. Your baby had stopped crying and you kissed her head. Art called an ambulance and you both waited while sitting on the floor with your newborn. Neither of you cared about the mess or the pain, all you cared about was your little girl. Art sat behind you holding you up as you held your baby. It was perfect.
Once you were all at the hospital, you and the baby were checked out and the both of you were healthy and safe. Art felt the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders when he heard both his girls were okay. You and Art sat in your hospital bed watching your baby sleep in his arms peacefully.
âWe still need a name for herâ Art cooed keeping his eyes on the infant
âWe already have oneâ you whispered looking at him, he turned to you and realized what you were saying,
âNo way. really?â He asked, his eyes lighting up. You nodded. âSunny. Hi my little Sunny girl.â He told the baby with the biggest smile you had seen. You were slightly angry because you didnât want that to be her name, but after hearing Art say it so much you couldnât picture her name being anything else.
âIâm gonna marry you y/n⌠Iâm gonna give you and Sunny everything.â He said before kissing you.
Never in a million years did you think this is what your life would be like this. You wouldnât change a thing.
âHey happy birthday. Both of you.â You said to your two favorite people. âCongrats on beating teen parenthood Donaldson.â You joked. Art chuckled and then kissed your forehead
âYouâll be on my level in two months donât worry.â

It was a stupid thing to forget. Usopp knew that. It was a monumentally stupid thing to forget, but he had.
Luffy and him were skimming the ocean a bit away from the ship, because wind was strong so Sunny was moving fast and scaring the fish. It was normal, Usopp was always dragging one of the crew around while he swam because people just couldn't swim as fast as him. Then he saw a bigger fish a bit deeper down. He told the human on his back "Wait here, I'll be back in a sec" and bucked away and into the ocean in less than a second, diving deeper and deeper after that huge fish - it was bigger than he thought, and further down. Usopp wrestled with the fish he could barely get his arms around for a second before giving up and forming himself fully into a seal to bite at the fish until it stopped moving. He changed his upper half back to grab the fish again before looking up to swim back, expecting to see kicking human legs just under the surface, like he did every time he left Nami from where he was carrying her for a second.
But Luffy was gone. Because Luffy can't swim.
Usopp took way too long looking for that bright red cartigan, and swimming them both back to the ship so Luffy could get the water beaten out of his chest. Usopp distanced himself once he saw Luffy breathing again, because he didn't think someone that almost drowned their partner and captain should eat and chat with everyone else like nothing happened.
So he took Franky's watch, took his dinner plate and went up to camp in the crow's nest.
Then Luffy came up, filling the room with noise before he even got the trapdoor open, ignoring how Usopp was sitting on the floor under one of the windows, wallowing, immediately sitting so close next to him that their shoulders touched and going on about a joke Brook told him that he forgot half of on the walk from the galley to there, as if he hadn't almost died because of Usopp, completely ignoring the slight rasp his voice still had from all the coughing as he rambled on and on.
"I didn't mean to." Usopp blurted, and Luffy stopped talking so suddenly it made the room feel empty. "I forgot you couldn't swim."
Luffy stared blankly at him for a second before snorting. "Usopp's a little dumb, huh?" He said, and from anyone else it would be an insult.
"I guess I am." The sniper responded.
"I haven't been able to swim in twelve years." His captain told him, and Usopp said nothing. "You've never seen me swim." Not entirely true, in Usopp's dreams where he grows old with Luffy, they always swim side-by-side. He supposed in hindsight that that couldn't actually happen.
But Usopp the liar nodded anyway, and Luffy was quiet again for another minute.
"You wouldn't have liked how I swam. Shanks always said I looked stupid." Luffy said finally, and Usopp looked up at him for the first time that conversation. "Gramps didn't teach me the kitty puddle or anything, just threw me in the water every time I beached myself until I learned to keep my head above water. I basically just flailed around."
Usopp leaned his head to clunk into Luffy's next to him. "I wish I could have seen."
"I could flail around on the floor?"
"Pfft-- No. I think I'm good for now."
Luffy leaned a little more into Usopp - head to head, shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee. "I won't ever be able to swim, you know. Even if I want to and you want me to. I can't."
Usopp knew, objectively, that that was true. It still made him sad that some of his favorite dreams would never come true.
"Does Usopp need someone that swims?"
Of course he didn't. Maybe. Possibly.
"No." Usopp said with the same confidence he used for any lie he told.
Luffy leaned even harder on Usopp, until he ws halfway in his lap. "Then I'm happy." He said, always eager to believe Usopp.
Usopp sat in the quiet of the crow's nest while Luffy drifted off on his shoulder, and wondered.

56: Crowley
Chapter 56 of Too Wise to Woo Peaceably
*******
Crowley had opened his mouth and then found himself completely incapable of closing it again.Â
Spurred by the stifling silence, heâd unwittingly opened an artery and watched helplessly as every last wounded, heartsore, mortifying thought came pouring out of him. He had committed the sort of emotional seppuku he had been carefully avoiding for literally thousands of years, and he felt like he might be bleeding out right there on the sofa.
He had spent much of the previous five minutes wishing desperately that Muriel might conveniently appear at the door with an obscene amount of wine, or at the very least a couple of bottles of Talisker.
However, just as heâd been wondering if it was possible to discorporate from abject discomfort, Aziraphale had finally said something, and even though heâd had to go and be infuriatingly circumspect about it... Crowley was pretty sure the words he had strung together had meant I love you too.
Which seemed impossible, but he supposed he would just add it to the increasingly lengthy list of impossible things that had happened lately.
Aziraphale was turned towards him. A tear dropped from his jawline as he gave Crowley a wobbly smile that did things to his insides. He suddenly became aware of the fact that he was crushing Aziraphaleâs little finger and, with considerable effort, forced himself to relax his hand.
Crowley wanted to look away, because this - whatever this was - was painfully intimate. It was galling, really. Barely touching and he felt as if the angel had zipped him open at the throat, exposing every part of him.
Except, well, heâd been the one to do that to himself, hadnât he?
Here, he might as well have said. Ruin me.
He watched Aziraphale warily, and in response the angel shuffled closer, banging their knees together clumsily.Â
Crowley didnât so much as blink.
Heâd said everything he had wanted to say. He had also said everything he hadnât wanted to say. He was cracked wide open, head swimming, waiting. Waiting to know what happened next, waiting for Aziraphale to say more, and he was good at waiting, heâd waited for so long, a few more minutes shouldnât feel so excruciating.
But they did.
Aziraphale looked away and the fingers of his free hand fluttered nervously against the suede of the sofa.
âI have some things to say too, I suppose,â he started, and his voice sounded higher than usual, tight with strain. He coughed lightly, managing to get it back down to its usual register. âI think Iâve rather been getting in my own way when it comes toâŚâ he tilted his head towards Crowley, still avoiding his gaze. â... us .â
Crowley took a deep breath and held it, feeling a bit like he was preparing to be held underwater.
âI think- Well all of those things you said, they're as true for you as they are for me, but I- I think- Ah, I suspect maybe I chose not to think on it, because I wasnât quite brave enough to face the truth of the matter. Which isâŚâ he trailed off. âWell, you know.â
Crowleyâs eyes narrowed. If he thought he was going to get away with-
âThat Iâm hopelessly in love. With you.â The words sounded torn from his chest, â...Too.â
Crowley bit down on his tongue; the urge to yell âNo takebacks!â was almost overwhelming.
âI thought if I could just get you to dance with me-â
Crowleyâs eyebrows slammed together. âWhat?â
âI thought we might do some formal dancing, and then we would realize that we were actually in love...â Aziraphale looked guilty. "... Like in Jane Austen's novels."
Crowley narrowed his eyes.
âI know Iâve said this before, but you readâ - grumbled Crowley in an exasperated tone - âentirely too many books. How was I meant to pick up on that? Why couldnât we have managed it without the formal dancing?â
Aziraphale shrugged helplessly. âI donât know! But we didnât, did we? Manage it, I mean.â
âDidnât even manage it with the formal dancing,â Crowley pointed out, and Aziraphaleâs face crumpled a bit. He nudged the angelâs knee with his own and leaned in. âYou never know, might have worked without the demons trying to storm the shop.â
Crowley seriously doubted it, but Aziraphale brightened at the thought so he let it go.
âYou know,â said Aziraphale, and he lowered his gaze, âI did try to show you.â
âShow me what?â
The angel was tracing a line along the suede, watching the velvety nap alternate between dark and light as he rubbed it one way and then the other.
âThat I felt for you. That you were important to me. That I loved you, before I consciously knew that I loved you.â
The way he said it, the way he let it roll almost casually out into the air between them, made Crowleyâs ribcage feel like a vice, his heart and lungs squeezed in a punishing grip.
âNgk?â he said.Â
It was an embarrassingly inelegant sound.
âWith the tartan,â Aziraphale said, as if it were perfectly obvious.
Crowley blinked and then pointed, bewildered, at the folded blanket on the armrest.Â
âThe blanket?â
âNo, the tartan .â Aziraphale was frowning, as if Crowley was being intentionally dense.
âI donât follow. Youâve lost me. Are you speaking in code? Are you saying âtartanâ and actually meaning something else entirely?â
âNo,â said Aziraphale, looking flustered, âIâm saying âtartan,â and meaning âtartanâ.â
The -you idiot was silent, but Crowley heard it all the same.
âDonât you know anything about tartan?â
Crowley stared at him for the longest moment. âNo,â he said slowly, âNo, I do not. Why would I? In over six thousand years, when have you ever known me to willingly wear tartan? And donât even think of mentioning the tartan collar, that does not count thankyouverymuch, that was you. As me. But still you.â
Aziraphale huffed and sat back a bit, clearly put out. âNever mind then.â
âNo, no. No. Youâve somehow - against stacked odds, let me tell you - managed to make tartan sound intriguing,â Crowley said. âSo you may as well tell me. Consider me interested. What should I know about tartan other than the fact that you have a disproportionate fondness for it?â
A pink flush was spreading up Aziraphaleâs neck.Â
It was delightful.
It made Crowley want to kiss it.
âForget I mentioned it,â the angel muttered, turning more pink by the second.
Crowley grinned. âOh, I think the chances of my forgetting any part of this enchanting conversation are abysmally low. Go on, torture me with tartan facts.â
Aziraphale blanched at the word âtortureâ and Crowley grimaced apologetically. âToo soon. Right.âÂ
He eyed the angelâs bow tie with an entirely new and unfeigned interest.Â
âSo. TartanâŚ?â he prompted.
Aziraphale straightened the bow tie unnecessarily, as if his hands needed something to do.Â
âThis is, ah- That is to say, I had this dress tartan made for me sometime around the mid-1800s. Itâs mine. Itâs unique.â
âRight.âÂ
The pink hue was back in Aziraphaleâs cheeks.
âDifferent families - different clans - they each have their own unique tartan.â
âDifferent people, different tartan. Got it.â Crowley gave him a nod.
âYes. Well, different clans or families, different tartan, but yes, basically. I couldnât, for example, wear another clanâs tartan without their express permission, because wearing it is something of a claim; using their tartan would then, er, mark me as belonging to their clan, you see.â
Aziraphale gazed meaningfully at Crowley and waited.
Right. Clearly he was meant to have gleaned something important from that bit of information.Â
His eyes moved from Aziraphaleâs face to his bow tie, and from his bow tie to the blanket.Â
He thought about the tartan collar Aziraphale had added to his jacket when they had swapped forms. He thought of the tartan thermos full of Holy water. He thought of the absolute eyesore of a tyre cover the angel had miracled onto the car after theyâd been hit by that woman in Tadfield.
âYour tartan,â Crowley said carefully. â... You let me use it.â
Aziraphale said nothing, but the pink in his cheeks had spread to the tips of his ears.
âYou were marking me as belonging to your⌠clan?â Crowley could feel his cheeks warming.Â
A matching flush. How perfectly wretched.
Aziraphale gave him a lopsided smile. âSomething like that, I suppose. Our⌠team. Our group of the two of us.â
âAh, so you were listening,â Crowley said uncomfortably.
Aziraphale blushed pink all the way up to his hairline.
With considerable effort, Crowley sat up properly. He shifted over, twisting his torso so that their bodies were in alignment, shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh.Â
âWell.â
âWell,â repeated Aziraphale weakly.
âWell Iâm sorry to have missed your demonstrations of affection delivered through the medium of tartan,â said Crowley with a wry grin.
The angel looked at him, embarrassed. âYes, yes. Very funny.â
Crowley bumped him with his shoulder. âMaybe try something a bit more straightforward next time. Or at least work with something I actually understand."
There was a brief pause and then Aziraphale raised an eyebrow, his lips curling up at the corners. "Oh?"
"What, 'oh'? What does that mean?"
"I think I know what you understand," said Aziraphale, and the embarrassment was gone from his face. Crowley pulled back slightly, watching the angel carefully.
"What?"
His heart stuttered and took up an absolutely frenzied pace as Aziraphale leaned forward to take his face in his hands.
He eyed him suspiciously. "Are you about to kiss me?"
Aziraphale laughed and his eyes dropped to Crowley's lips, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Not just yet."
Crowley couldn't take his eyes off him. He felt like his heart might burst. Aziraphale was stroking his thumb softly against his skin.
"Anthony Just-a-J-Really Crowley, I'm in love with you," he said, and kissed his temple so gently Crowley had to swallow down a cry.
"I've loved you for a very long time," Aziraphale whispered against his ear. He kissed his forehead, and turned his thoughts into incoherent nonsense.
"A very, very long time," Aziraphale murmured against his other ear and nipped his earlobe, sending a jolt of undiluted desire straight up his spine.Â
"I'm sorry it took me such a long time to be honest with myself," he said, kissing the serpent by the hinge of his jaw. Crowley shuddered. He let out a harsh exhale as his eyes closed of their own volition.
"... And I'm sorry it took me such a long time to be honest with you," he said, kissing the corner of Crowley's mouth. He groaned and turned to kiss the angel, but Aziraphale pulled out of reach.Â
Crowley opened his eyes, dazed, to find Aziraphale looking at him with adoring eyes, a coy half-smile on his lips. He struggled to swallow, his throat tight with longing.
"I know you said I go too fast for you, angel," he rasped, "but this is painfully slow. Are you trying to discorporate me?"
Aziraphale frowned slightly, but he was still smiling. "I'm almost certain that's not possible."
"Let's not find out."
Aziraphale's laugh was muffled by Crowley's lips against his.

Your the only one for me
(part 1)
SOOO THIS TOOK A WHILE. sorry xx. also THANK YOU đ¤ (a lot of requests have been made based off of this request so I'm making it into one long fic x)
Summary: You find something suspicious on Grayson's phone and confront him about it. During your argument you get seriously injured. Is it all a misunderstanding or is he just using you?
Grayson Hawthorne x reader
It was Thanksgiving weekend. A time for family and friends. For loved ones to gather and enjoy good food and share stories and memories. At the moment Xander was explaining the story of how the two of us had paired up in a robotics competition, in which I had screwed something wrong resulting in an explosion and causing our professor to ban us from robotics club. This happened almost 3 months ago and he was still hurt about being banned from the club. He was now explaining how he was starting his own club. And apparently I was not invited.
Grayson's hand rested on my thigh, a comforting gesture and something that helped me stay calm in such a chaos of a family dinner. It wasn't exactly a "family dinner" seen as though half the people weren't even here. It was a more get together dinner with Xander, Jameson, Avery, Grayson and me. Nash was out somewhere with Libby and Max was actually trying to get a few projects done, surprisingly.
Thanksgiving was actually in 2 days time but according to Jameson "It's never too early to get together". This also meant he had probably planned something that included more than 4 people to play. I didn't mind. It gave me an excuse to forget about my deadlines for abit and spend time with Grayson.
*A few hours later*
I watched as Grayson finally came to stop in front of me in the pool, smiling up at me. I refused to go any further into the water and just let my legs dangle slightly in. Besides watching Grayson swim with his muscles on show like that was always nice to watch.
"You should join me. It's warm" He said, his height being enough for him to stand with the water coming up to his chest.
I shook my head "Who wants to voluntarily swim? It's like saying let's go on a treadmill, it's fun"
Grayson let out a laugh "It's not entirely like that sweetheart. But fine" Before I could say anything a notification popped up on Grayson's phone. It was too far back for him to get it so I grabbed it for him. Because I was nosy and my eyes immediately went to see who the notification was from, I immediately wished I could turn back time and pretend I had never seen it.
A notification from Sophie that read *I had so much fun yesterday. We should definitely do it again.đ*
I didn't give him the phone, instead I held it tightly in my hand and showed him his screen.
"Who is this?" I asked, trying so hard to not get angry and see reason to what was happening. Grayson's smile dropped and immediately became confused. He ran a hand through his hair
"It's just Sophie. She does the photography exhibit with me" He said after a while.
I put his phone down, although what I really wanted to do was throw it into the pool. I stood up and looked at him in disgust. I thought he'd have better morals than cheating on someone. Especially someone they had said they loved.
"Just Sophie? Is she the reason why you came home at two in the morning yesterday? Or the reason why you haven't been telling me anything whenever I ask you?"
Grayson looked up at me, still in the pool. "Sweetheart. I was at the photography exhibit, finishing things off." He had gone pale and was frozen in place.
I scoffed. He just kept thinking if he made the same excuse I would believe it "Well I'm finishing things between us SO YOU CAN GO SPEND TIME WITH SOPHIE LIKE THE LYING FUCKING CHEAT YOU ARE" I felt tears make their way down my cheek as I walked away into the darkness, half running and half stumbling because I couldn't see a thing with my tears cascading down.
Why was I crying? It was just a breakup. I was trying to justify it all but really I was crying because I didn't expect it. I was crying because I thought if things ever ended between the two of us it would be on good terms. Not him cheating. I loved him. I probably still did and that's what hurt most. When had he started seeing someone else?
Did it start just last week when we had our date? Or had it been months now and I was just too oblivious to see it all? My heart hurt so much it was unbearable. I wanted to rip it out and ignore the reality of it all.
I walked in a daze to the room me and Grayson shared and tried to get everything of mine into my bag. Luckily because I was a lazy bitch I hadn't even unpacked yet. It's like I knew this was going to happen. Putting my hair brush into my side bag and looking around the room one more time I wheeled my suitcase to the stairs.
I couldn't do it. I couldn't. Imagine, the one person who loved you thinking you aren't worthy enough. I spent so much of my time and effort into loving Grayson wholeheartedly and what did I get back? Heartbreak.
I sat down on the top most stair and let the tears flow until there were no more. The pain in my heart receding to a dull ache in my chest. I wasn't ready to see him but there he was, looking up at me with sad eyes and a regretful expression.
"Y/n. Please. Don't leave" His hair was still wet, his swimming shorts were still on and he had pulled on a shirt. I wanted to throw my suitcase down at him and have him hug me all at once. Why did he have to cheat? Was I not good enough?
I didn't feel like talking to him so instead I stood up and kept my expression blank. As if he didn't faze me at all. Before I had even touched my suitcase Grayson came running up the stairs and stopped in front of me "Please y/n. Let me explain. I love you. How could you think I'd cheat on you? Why would I? Your perfect." He explained.
I shook my head, not wanting to look him in the eyes. If I did I might start crying again "I saw the message. Don't lie to me" I pulled on my suitcase. He gently grabbed my arm, not letting me move any further. His touch was so soft and warm. I used to love it. He brought me so much comfort. But now I hated it. He had probably kissed and hugged Sophie just like he did me. I wasn't anyone special to him. I don't know why I thought I was.
Gritting my teeth together I yanked my arm away "don't touch me"
As soon as the words left me I looked up at him, breaking my vow of not looking into his grey eyes. I felt bad. I felt bad for hurting him even though he was the one cheating on me. His arm slowly dropped back to his side, his lips parting in surprise at my harsh words.
"Please, sweetheart. I-" His voice broke. I couldn't stand here any longer. Swallowing the pain and tears I lifted the suitcase, underestimating it's heaviness. Without warning the suitcase tipped forward, pushing me off the landing, my weight propelling me forward to crash and roll down the flight of stairs, banging my head and every limb in my body on the way. I couldn't feel anything. My vision had gone black and I didn't even know if my eyes were open or not. I couldn't tell where I was. I could only feel the discomfort of the position I was in. My breathing was sharp and heavy as if I couldn't get in enough oxygen. My brain felt as if it had been hammered and my back felt like it was being crushed under a heavy weight. I wanted to sit up. I wanted to breathe properly again.

Elliot wanted to go talk to her, he needed to. But everyone had told him if he didn't give her some space, things between them would only get worse.
So for the first time in the seven years he had known her, Elliot was hesitant to go knock her door.
How could things between them possibly get any worse though? She was completely ignoring his existence.
He was spiraling, everyone around him knew it.
And Dammit those nightmares, he had been having the same reoccurring nightmares since the day he found out she left, nightmares about losing her entirely, not just from his life but from the the entire world.
They were based around what almost happened a few weeks ago.
What he couldn't bare to even think about.
And the more time passed without seeing her, the more vividly they played out and the more real they began to feel.
It was terrifying.
And so embarrassing, he's stronger than this. Elliot Stabler doesn't wake up panicking from nightmares. My gosh, that didn't even happen when he had PTSD from the military.
It didn't happen after any traumatizing case, and there were so many of them he had lost count.
What was this woman doing to him?
                   ~~~
Flashes of Olivia's lifeless body on the cold floor, played out in his mind. her eyes rolling in the back of her head, blood gushing everywhere, her face turning white, his hand feeling for a pulse that was gone.
Flashes of his partner bleeding out in front of him.
Each time he had that same nightmare, he always woke up right before he blurted out the three words, he only ever allowed his mind to say in that split second he thought he was losing her.
"Olivia, don't go I.."
                     ~~~
It was now a quarter after midnight and Elliot yet again, was swimming in a pool of his own sweat, gasping for air.
Crying out her name.
"Dad"
No response.
"Dad"
"No response."
"DAD!" The voice echoed much louder than before, julting him awake.
"Ahh, what!? He gasped nearly falling off the bed.
"Dad, you're scaring me, what the hell was that about?" Kathleen questioned, her voice laced with confusion.
"Kathleen?" His eyes wandered around the room trying to make out his surroundings. "What are you doing here?"
She raised her brow at him, "Do you not remember?"
"You picked me up from Trevor's house because, his dad was making me uncomfortable, I had to beg you not to kill him.. we went to denny's afterwards?" she went on, trying to jog his memory.
This was weird, it had only been a few hours and he didn't remember how she got there?
Elliot stared off into space, trying to remember the events his daughter just described to him, but his body was still in fight or flight mode and his mind was foggy.
Finally, after an unusually long minute, things came back to him, and he could see the relief on Kathleen's face when he bellowed a loud "ohh." As he slowly came back to reality.
"You scared me dad, I thought you might have dementia or something."
He laughed lightly "No honey, not yet at least."
"Are you okay though?" she asked, that same expression returning to her face.
"Yeah, I'm fine honey." He tried to assure her, even though he knew she probably heard him screaming.
"Are you sur."
"Sweetheart, I said I'm fine."
His daughter wasn't convinced, she made her way to the side of his bed and pressed her hand to his forehead, "dad, you're covered in sweat that must've been quite the intense nightmare, do you have PTSD from what happened with Olivia?."
He visibly stiffened at the mention of her name, the nightmare still fresh, and his mind not exactly fully awake yet.
"What would make you think that?" He replied, hoping she wouldn't pry any further, his kids didn't need to be involved in this, he didn't want them to suspect anything strange when he didn't even know what was going on himself.
"Because you were screaming her name." she said, squinting her eyes at him in puzzlement.
"Was I? That's weird."
Kathleen crossed her arms and gave him a challenged look "Dad, come on, you might be a good liar at work but you'll always be a horrible one in your person life.. especially when you're talking to me."
"Honey, it's not something you need to worry about, I don't even know why I would say that."
"Your ears are red."
"What?"
"Your ears are red." She repeated, "your ears get red when you're lying."
"Kathleen, why don't you go to bed? don't you have school tomorrow."
"You should go talk to her." she blurted out, ignoring his last statement.
"Kathleen.." he warned.
But she didn't budge.
"Dad."
"Kathleen, seriously!"
"I'm serious dad! You should go talk to her, do you think I'm stupid? I know, I've known for years."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You heard me dad, I wasn't born yesterday, even if to you, it seems like I was, I'm a woman now, I've been one for a while, and we know things."
"Whatever you think you know, you can't know because, I don't even know." He babled in response, although what he said was true, he didn't know.
Or maybe he did know, but denial is a strong thing.
"I'm not saying you have to pour your heart out to her, but at least go apologize."
"I did! I left her a voicemail, I called her 30 times!" Now he was getting angry, he had to remind himself this was his daughter, and now was not the time to lose his temper.
"She'd rather hear you say it to her face, otherwise she's going to think you're just telling her what she wants to hear so she'll come to you."
Elliot looked at her with the up most puzzled expression before he replied, How would you know that? she's not a family member, you don't even know her."
"You're wrong dad, she's been like family to us for a long time."
And those words right there caused tears to well up in his eyes, his kids considered her family.
It was a weird dynamic.
But not one he was willing to just let go of.
She couldn't just never talk to him again.
Cus' as much as she thought of him as a stubborn son or a bitch, she was one too.
Kathleen was right he had to go to her.
"When did you get so mature?" he smiled at his daughter sadly.
She smiled back before evolving him as a hug.
"I wasn't born yesterday."
"Lovely." She mumbled to herself sarcastically before emerging out of bed and making her way to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face.
Suddenly she didn't feel the slightest bit tired anymore.
So instead of going back to bed when she saw the clock read 1:30AM she decided to go in the living room and watch tv.
Ugh, why did he have such a hold on her? It's like she couldn't escape him no matter what she did, not in her wake, not in her sleep. He was always on her mind, no matter how much she fought to get him out of it, he was still there.
And she wondered how long she could go on like this for. Ignoring him, declining his calls, revolving her life around trying to forget about him until the anger subsided enough that she could talk to him again, even though things would never be the same after this, and she couldn't expect them to be.
She didn't think it would be this hard, she knew it would be different, she knew it would hurt but not this much, nothing was the same anymore, nothing had been the same since Gitano.
It's not like she thought leaving was going to fix anything, but she didn't feel like she had any other choice.
There was no way to fix this.
Before Gitano, Olivia truly believed that nothing could break them apart, because it wasn't an easy job, they had their fair share of screaming contests when they disagreed on something, she slammed doors in his face more times than she'd like to admit, there were many ups and downs in their partnership, many times she swore she hated him and was sure he hated her back.
But when they went crashing down, they always came back to each other, every single time.
Until now.
She didn't know how to accept that Gitano, that case, very well might've ruined them for good, and there would be no coming back around this time.
She couldn't lose him, but she couldn't face him either.
Olivia was starting to realize, that though she was able to run, she wasn't able to hide.
But she couldn't face what she was feeling and she wasn't even sure she knew how to.
Trying to block out her thoughts Olivia began flipping through the channels, settling on a repeat of the bachelor, one of her favorite comfort shows. Though, nothing seemed to bring her much comfort these days.
And then came a knock on her door.
At first she thought it was the tv.
But then it happened again.
A knock she could recognize anywhere.
"Not now, my gosh, not now." she mumbled to herself.
By the 10th knock Elliot was growing impatient, he wasn't going to let her continue to ignore him, not when he drove over here, in the middle of the night, not when this had been the longest week of his life.
"Olivia! Olivia! I know you're in there!" He bellowed.
She didn't answer.
"Olivia, I can feel you thinking, you can't avoid me forever."
"Dammit Elliot, it's 2am." she uttered.
"Just let me in."
"No."
"Let me in!" He repeated.
" I said no!"
"Olivia for the love of god, what are we are five years old now? Just open the damn door."
And she was silent again.
"Olivia! Let me in."
Really? Now he chose to do this.
It was never going to be a good time.
Olivia made her way to the door but she still refused to open it, now standing beside the door, her forehead pressed against the wall, her hand dangerously close to the knob.
No, she wasn't doing this right now.
"Go home Elliot."
"Olivia, I swear to god if you don't open this door I'm going to bust in down."
He couldn't be serious.
"Try me and i'll sue you for breaking and entering."
"I have a key." He reminded her.
"You still have a key!"
"Just let me in."
"Itâs not a good time."
"It's never going to be a good time Liv, but I need to freaking talk to you!"
He was just about to reach for the spare key when he heard her unlock the hinge.
"You got five minutes." She told him as she finally opened the door, blocking the entrance with her body.
God, she was beautiful and he couldn't help but stare, despite the fact that he was low key beginning to hate her for the games she was playing.
"Well hello to you too, aren't you going to let me in."
Olivia only crossed her arms in response, "Whatever it is, you can say from where you are."
He looked at her with a mixture of disbelief and anger before mocking her actions and crossing his arms as well. You've got to be kidding me Liv."
"I'm serious El, spit it out."
"Why are you acting like this?!"
"What are you talking about."
"I'm not playing along with your petty junior high games Olivia, I came here to talk to you now let me in." He demanded, catching her off guard when he pushed past her, making his way to her couch.
"What do you think you're doing?."
"I said we needed to talk." He stated, as if it was a demand.
"And I said it wasn't a good time."
"And I said it's never going to be a good time."
My god, he had a way of making her lose every ounce of patience she had in her.
"Then why are you here?!
"I said we needed to talk."
And for a good minute, they just stared at each other, neither willing to back down, neither willing to give in.
She saw everything in his eyes as they continued their stare off, the hurt, the betrayal, the regret, the sadness, the pain.
How dare he come here and try to make her feel bad? how dare he come here and look at her like that, like she ruined him.
~~~
Olivia was the first to break the silence, "Dammit Elliot what is the matter with you?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Oh really? Last time I checked I didn't show up at your place at 2am, banging on the door and yelling like I'm on fire." She shot back.
"No, you just quit and completely cut me out of your life without even so much as a text message." he quipped.
"I didn't cut you out of my life Elliot."
"Then why haven't I heard from you in an entire fucking week!" He yelled, emerging from the couch and beginning to pace the living room, Elliot had every intention of coming over to apologize, not to start a fight, but her stubbornness was too much and his anger was now overpowering the guilt he had been feeling.
Olivia stayed in place, not wanting to fight with him again, trying to calm herself before she lost it, he knew her every button and just now to push them. "I needed space! Did you really think I was going to ignore you forever? Really says a lot about how well you know me."
He laughed bitterly in response "You have no idea what you have put me through."
That was it.
Suddenly, it didn't matter if they fought she didn't care, she was enraged and she wasn't going to let him talk to her like that, not again.
Not this time.
Not when he barged into her house at 2am, like a fucking F5 tornado.
"What I've put you through!?" She screamed, not even realizing she was now yelling in his face.
He didn't back down and they were now so close they could feel each other's hot breath on their necks. "Yeah, you heard me."
She felt dizzy.
"I knew that voicemail was a lie! you're not sorry, you're not even capable of feeling sorry, you fucking ego maniac!"
She was right but it didn't stop the rage in him from intensifying.
"I was sorry Olivia! don't you dare tell me I lied to you! I was fucking sorry but that was before I found out you quit, before I found out that you had no intention of ever talking to me again! Now, now you don't deserve for me to be sorry, cus' you had to go and make sure you hurt me that much more!"
"So that's what you think this is?!" Tears were now welling in her eyes, his words cutting her deeper than that knife ever did. That I'm just trying to hurt you more than you've hurt me? as if this is some kind of sick content?"
"It sure as hell seems like it!"
Olivia said nothing in response, she only went to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of wine, desperately needing an excuse to get away from him.
She felt like all the air had left the room.
And so did he.
But he wasn't going to run.
She wanted to run but this was her house.
She has nowhere to go.
"So that's what you wanted? To just cut me off and never talk to me again!" Now Elliot was the one with tears welling up in his eyes.
"I already told you, I needed space, I can't breathe when I'm around you anymore you fucking suffocate me!" she spat.
"And you think that I can breathe around you? You think that you don't suffocate me?" He shot back, his own tears threatening to fall.
"You have had no problem treating me like your personal fucking punching bag for the past month, you don't get to make this about you!"
"You're such a gosh damn child olivia!"
"Really? How many times have I saved your ass because you couldn't control yourself?"
"That's not the point!"
"You are too much Elliot! How can you expect me to look past you blaming me for your own choice? How can you expect me to be able to be around you anymore? All I see when I look at you, is resentment, resentment at me, for something you chose to do! And you know what? You're the damn child, because, I wouldve never, ever crossed that line!"
"Olivia don't you fucking get it? that's not why I'm angry!"
"Oh please." She scoffed.
"It's not! I'm not angry that I chose you, that was never why I was angry, my gosh that's not why I'm fucking standing here screaming at you in the middle of the night! That's not why I've been losing my mind ever since Gitano!"
"What the fuck is the reason then Elliot, tell me! tell me the fucking reason?!" She yelled, getting in his face again.
"Olivia you're out of your fucking mind if you really think I would've done anything differently if I could go back, do you really think I wouldn't do the same damn thing! do you really think I wouldn't still choose you if we found ourselves in the same situation tomorrow?"
She looked at him with a mixture of shock and something else he couldn't quite make out. "What the hell are you saying!"
"I'm not angry that I chose you! I'm angry that I don't regret choosing you! I'm angry that I'd choose you again without a single fucking ounce of hesitation!"
Olivia was taken aback by his words, by his confession. her heart beating so fast she swore he probably heard it echoing through the room.
"You don't think I feel the same fucking way Elliot?" She spat back, daring to to get even closer to him than she already was, he wasn't going to win this fight, not this time. "You're the idiot! For thinking that I could shoot you, that I could end your life, that I could live with myself if you died because of me! How could you be so stupid?!"
"Thatâs not the point Olivia, thatâs not what this is about!" He yelled back.
"Then what is it about Elliot? What is it that you want from me?!â
"I want you to be honest!"
"Are you serious right now? I have been honest!"
"Bull shit Olivia! You weren't honest you ran away! But you know what? Maybe you're right, maybe this whole thing is my fault, cus' I should've known you would, it's what you do best anyway!"
He was in front of her, moving closer as if they weren't already unbearable closer because she was now grabbing the kitchen countertop for support as he cornered her against it.
They'd never fought like this before.
She said she couldn't take the way he had been looking at her, but the way he was looking at her now, was so much worse.
âfuck you Elliot! Get out!"
His eyes were laced with so much anger, so much pain and regret, but suddenly there was something different in his gaze, something that wasn't there before.
Desire.
"No."
did he really tell her no?
"Elliot, get out! she repeated lunging forward and attempting to push him away.
"What are you going to do if I don't?" He challenged, pushing her back against the counter top.
And his next move was something she never could've expected, not even in her wildest dreams.
Suddenly, the world went silent as he crashed his lips into hers.
My mutual @alectricblue tagged me in this game tag! I normally dont do these, but I thought it'd be nice to get to know me more (and also meet y'all if you wish to participate)!
It will be long though. Sorry
1. Were you named after anyone?
Was originally gonna be named Andrea after a ballerina my grandma liked! Sadly no one remembered her well, not even grandma, so I don't know much about her.
My deadname was simply just chosen bc it was easy to pronounce, as well as my chosen name Diego (it's what I would've been called had I been male), although when I chose it for myself I liked the JoJo character Diego Brando so there was some correlation there.
Funnily enough, people think I'm nicknamed Lio after the Promare character, but I hadn't met them yet.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Yesterday. At 11pm. Watching OR3O's One Piece song. It was nostalgic ok
3. Do you have kids?
Nope. There's an absurd amount of reasons I don't want them, although not a single one is because I dislike them. I've had to babysit many kids and they've all been very sweet.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
Oof, my recent sports is taking my dog for a walk. But I used to like volleyball and kickball! And reluctantly played soccer and did swimming! Sports give me a lot of anxiety and i'm not sure why.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
I do a lot of teasing and lighthearted banter that can sometimes be considered sarcasm?
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Their eyes! Or anything outstanding like cool hairstyles or visible tattoos.
With online people, I mostly recognize them by pfp or a vague mental pronunciation of their username.
7. What's your eye color?
Dark brown?? Or black??
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Honestly, whatever makes me think more. Unhappy endings tend to do that more though, so I guess scary movies! But of course it depends on the mood, sometimes I just want a nice story to cheer me up.
9. Any talents?
I've been told I am talented at the piano! And music in general, although most of my skills feel less like talent and more like just studying the thing.
10. Where were you born?
So I was born in the US, in Florida, but my entire family is from Costa Rica and I just happened to be born while my parents were studying abroad. I don't remember much from the US though, I came back to CR with my grandma in my first months because she was less busy than my parents, and then they came to live here again. So in my eyes I've been a true Costa Rican since always hehe
11. What are your hobbies?
Playing the piano! Also drawing sometimes (I like to color more than draw, but unless I get my hands on a coloring book I can't do that unless I draw), playing videogames (mostly RPGs and visual novels), and doomscrolling.
12. Do you have any pets?
YESSSS my beloved dog Mia!!!!!!!!!!! I love her so much, she escaped her abusive home and we found her while walking around a plaza, said hi, and she followed us home. She's been with us for 8 years now and I adore her. Reference below because how can I not show her off:
13. How tall are you?
Excellent question. I forgot but I'm average if that helps!
14. Favorite subject in school?
It changed over the years, in senior year it was English because we had my favorite teacher! I knew him for years because he has a literature club I partook in, so I was very happy to have classes with him. Plus, we saw the Oresteia, which goes tremendously hard especially when your teacher geeks out about all the symbolisms.
Apart from that, computer class! We barely ever had it, and almost had it cut out entirely in senior year, but the few times we did I really enjoyed programming and practicing typing! And when we didn't do anything we could play so.
15. Dream job?
I want to make my own videogame! So I'd say a game developer, although being a part of any videogame, especially RPGs, would be a dream come true.
Well thank you for reading, I hope that was some insight, it was very fun to reply!
