Also, I’ve had the Fox Yaoguai-Scholar! Suo thing stuck in my brain for weeks and I just decided to use the idea for Tea’s MFM na lang because why not…and it’s hot. On that note, I originally had the idea to assign the boar demon to Sakura (which if you aren’t familiar with the story; the boar demon is the lover of the fox demon’s concubine aka rabbit demon), but then I remember the chemistry between the peddler and the fox scholar so I went with that instead.

hi!!!!! i saw the trailer for pupsick and when it released i was scrolling thru the regular nct fics tags (nct x reader etc) and it wasn’t showing up so i thought it was delayed D: found ur account again though!!! and i’m planning on reading it later tonight hehe

A long overdue update:

Hi everyone. Long time no see. I literally have not opened Tumblr since the last time I posted here. Hope everyone is doing ok. Figured I owed y’all an apology and explanation for kinda just vanishing.

First, I did in fact get a car! It’s a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. I don’t particularly like it but a friend gave me a deal on it that I couldn’t turn down. Once my life stabilizes I’m probably going to sell it and buy an old truck, maybe a 70s Ford. I’d love a little sports car or a land yacht but rear wheel drive is a bit impractical for brutal New England winters, and the Jeep really put me in Old American Truck Mode. But yes I have a car now!

Second, unfortunately this is an official notice of hiatus. When I last posted saying I was taking some time off it was because I had just had an incredibly stressful move and did not have the energy to keep this blog up. I figured I’d take some time to get settled in, relax, and then pick this back up after a week or two, but the last month has been really rough - the short version is one of the people I was living with turned out to be a pretty horrendous human being who managed to get everybody living in the house essentially kicked out via sheer drama. Within a month and a half. It’s a long story but tl:dr if you quite literally slander a property manager with heavy unfounded accusations of horrible crimes, they’ll probably bail from the whole situation. And since they’re gone the landlord has to hand ownership of everything over to a company that’s forcing everyone still here to vacate. I’m now fighting to not have to live in aforementioned Nissan Versa through the aforementioned brutal New England winter. On top of that, I’m a retail manager so we’re going into our busiest most stressful season, so that’s been an extra level of exhaustion.

So what does that mean for this blog? Well, as I said, I’m officially going on indefinite hiatus, as are the projects I was working on in relation, including the reference website. I’m really sorry, I’m just way too stressed and dealing with way too much. If I could, I would just hand off administrative power to someone else, but this is a sideblog so I can’t hand off login credentials without also giving access to my main/personal account. It’s my biggest regret of this account, but when I started it I never expected it to blow up the way it did back in September - I had no reason to expect to need it to be its own entirely separate blog. I love what I was doing here and I thought that it might even be a nice distraction from everything going on, but the upkeep required with this blog is just more than I can deal with right now. I hope that things settle down soon and that I can genuinely come back here and enjoy what I was doing, but I just need literally anything to level out in my real life and to not be in 100% survival mode, because at the moment I literally do not have the energy to pour into this.

Anyway. Sorry for the long post, I’m not good at not being overly verbose. I’m really sorry for kind of abandoning this project, and I hope I can get back to it relatively soon, it just might be a while.

In the mean time, I hope those of y’all who I turned onto cars as a potential hobby find some other good outlets! I highly recommend Donut Media’s series “Up to Speed” on YouTube, as well as the channels Regular Car Reviews, Doug DeMuro, Garbage Time, and Aging Wheels. All great YouTube channels that are both informative and very approachable and fun.

this is the time between when the hiatus started until dan's coming out video Basically I'm Gay (and some may argue continued after that as well, just in a different way) coming off of ii, joint content regularly--joint life essentially--to the New Era where phil would specifically Not talk about dan in videos. it was noticable because they would always talk about each other, particularly in one-off moments, so it was strange, from an audience perspective, to almost be pretending dan didn't exist.

once BIG happened, we understood. but dan did 'appear' more after that during 2019. 2020 though, there's several videos that feel like they're specifically missing dan in them. phil baking his birthday cake alone, a tour of my plants (back on my old blog i have a live reaction to this video; it's coated in dan Energy cause he's doing the camerawork, but you never hear him), catching a pigeon, to name a few. obviously, not every video needs to be joint content, but if dan wasn't taking his break, if he wasn't doing his book & dinok, these are the ones you could expect him to have popped into in earlier years.

since then, we slowly saw him returning not only to some videos, but also, phil mentioning him again. the wall only fully came down once the gaming channel came back though. (literally has there been a phil video since where he doesnt mention him at least once, not even to mention how many dan is physically present in)

woo, since your style has changed so much since the earlier chapters of obt, how would rune without her aura look now?

so for canon material, we actually have some modern renditions of chapter 1-2 rune! the most recent being the guildmaster talking about their meeting in chapter 8 via flashback,

... but I also snuck in some silent revisions to chapter 2 when you all weren't looking. only fine-tuned on the few pages where I was experimenting with rune's hairstyle and it looked particularly Bad

that said, if I could do it all over (utilizing the same worldbuilding and general setup)... she'd probably look something like this instead!

and some design notes on this being, - utilizes malachi's comment in chapter 1 about her "lacking coloration" - it makes her transition into her chapter 3 design less drastic (a lesser-known fact about the comic is that her "re-aura'd" design was a retcon) - her coloration and general curly-ness when she regains her aura come from her ice abilities. her fur has a bit of natural curl thanks to general alolan vulpix traits, but the active cold is what keeps the curls tightly in place. the coloration is from her more or less being a living snow cone, with her aura acting as the snow cone syrup - gave her the curl in her tail back. it's cute, I was cruel to take it away (the absence of the tail curl early in the current version of the comic was just a remnant of old design traits, which included fluffy fox tails rather than the trademark vulpix curl) - no blue in her eyes- she hasn't made her deal with requiem yet!

though as-is, this lil redesign idea probably won't see any use. I do occasionally toy around with "what-ifs" regarding chapters 1 and 2 since visually and writing-wise they're pretty different from the rest of the comic, but as they are they serve the comic well enough and aren't threatening to break the story. at this point, I'd only do a proper rewrite of chapters 1 and 2 if the following conditions were met: - over a year of buffer for both my comics (150+ pages for OBT and 50+ pages for NGCS) - i'm suddenly hit with inspiration for drawing/rewriting - readers showed an interest OR... - someone who really really really wants to see chapters 1 and 2 redone essentially pays for 2 monster house marathons on patreon and tells me that's the content they wanna experience ... and out of these different conditions, I think none of them are gonna align to make it happen anytime soon. or ever LMAO

An explanation

Tl;dr - this blog will most likely never come back. It will remain on what is essentially an indefinite hiatus unless something else ends up happening and I change my mind.

I left randomly, and want to explain why I did, properly.

If you don't know, I'm mod Rat. I was the second TADC askblog and shortly after the creation of the Kinger blog(which you are currently on) I made @zooooble, an askblog where I attempted to write as my interpretation of Zooble as opposed to Kinger, as they were two major comforts to me at the time(along with TADC as a whole).

Unfortunately, we got off to a rocky start pretty much immediately, with someone sending gore in my asks, leading to the asks being closed right after they opened. A bit later after asks were reopened, I started getting more and more odd asks - including animal abuse on Zooble's blog, and people being very gross about Kinger here and in some instances, me. This continued until I closed up the asks, which I originally didn't know would be permanent.

This ended up lining up horribly with my irl situation aswell, not to mention the fact that I was frequently disrespected in my asks. Someone even talked bad about me in Zooble's blog, thinking we were different mods.

Through all of this other mods were having lore happen to their characters, it got so overwhelming to have to keep up on anon blogs, TADC blogs, personal blogs I haven't and never will show here, it was making this feel like a chore.

Not to mention Zooble - because of several shitposts that I now regret, people were asking me and mod Soup(owner of the Gangle blog) to make Google canon. It was and never will be canon. It is a ship that now makes me uncomfortable and as I understand it, Soup aswell as they are literally in a relationship.

I didn't want this blog to get to the state it did. I just wanted to make jokey things, but it all got so complicated so quickly. It has been atrocious for my health, mental and physical. And I decided I need to stop worrying about this post. I wanted to make something like it months ago, but I didn't want to let people down. I don't care for this blog anymore.

I started a comic at some point in here, really its mostly a blur, but I ended up falling out of TADC as the third panel was being worked on. The whole Kinger wood rot arc was just something I made to make myself feel more included since other mods were doing lore with their respective characters aswell. I regret it - he would've been better as a silly character, like I started the blog with the intent to invision him as.

The TADC fandom was alright for awhile, but at this point, I am no longer interested in TADC, the characters, story, or these blogs.

The blogs were great when they started, when it was just some people having fun, but now, everything feels so odd. It's all different and not in a good way, not to the fault of the mods at all.

@thecomicallytragicgangle is to my knowledge the most active, @jaxtherabbit is to my knowledge either on hiatus or inactive(though their blog is still fun to scroll through), @blue-tooth(Moon) I am unsure if they are active or not but they're an amazing artist and have a blog that's fun to go through, @theoneandonlysun is still active(I think), @cainetheringmaster is somewhat active, @theclownkaufmo(Abstractions) is a shared blog where to my knowledge there are still a few abstractions taking answers. There is of course askblogs not in this group, but these are the ones I was interacting with.

I believe @pomniii and @ragatha1 are inactive.

I will be floating around in some places in the internet, but now, this is my goodbye to this blog and all my other blogs on this account.

I was wondering, do you have multiples dowload folders? Do you switch depending on the save? I lurked on your blog/simblr a lot (as a fervent reader of yours) and genuinely wonder how you manage a) so much cc or b) switching defaults/cc depending on the saves 😊

I do have multiple downloads folders that I switch out depending on the save, kinda! My EA Games folders looks like this:

(I like it this way, rather than switching just downloads, because this way it isn't possible to load the wrong neighbourhood for the downloads you currently have in and mess up your neighbourhood deco, lol! you can also have different collection files, cameras, etc.)

(Putting the rest under a cut since I got way too detailed describing all this, lmao)

So I have:

a "no cc" game folder for building projects (because I prefer building without cc if I am going to be sharing it)

a "low cc" folder for my YouTube saves, Fiero legacy, and a few other things

my "full cc" folder for my Hollyhead BACC & Pleasantview Plus uberhood.

The last one is definitely too much CC (24GB) and it does noticably make my performance quite bad lol! The game lags a fair bit and will start to flash pink if I play for too long, especially if I am loading large and heavily decorated lots. (This is why I go with a lower-cc vibe for Youtube especially, and whenever I start a new hood these days it tends to be a low-cc one).

Hollyhead & Pleasantview Plus both use the same mods and cc (arguably a mistake LOL), but I do switch out the neighbourhood-specific default replacements, the folders look like this:

There's not that much difference here lol, but they do use different plantsim skins, differences in careers, & Hollyhead has some "fantasy" defaults I don't want showing up in my uberhood.

Then, the "low cc" folder is much more limited! Mostly just essential bodyshop stuff, any maxis sets like the life stories collection or the store stuff, objects that have some sort of useful functionality... but then within that I do have more themed folders I swap in and out depending on the save :)

Robin River is my old for a round robin legacy hood, has some desert-appropriate default replacements & a few bits of cc specificly made for that legacy

Honeycoast is one of those indefinite-hiatus projects, has a lot of "European" build and buy cc as well as defaults

Shellcastle Sands is my legacy hood for the Fieros, the town has a beach city look so has a bunch of fun summery defaults

"Sprucestead" was the beta name for Spruceburg and has all the cc I use in both of my Youtube series. Way fewer default replacements in this folder since I went with more of a pure "maxis match" aesthetic

Each of those folders also includes a slightly different aging mod since I like tweaking that depending on how I am playing the neighbourhood, haha! I also have Uberhood_Mods and Spruceburg_Mods which have a few things that are stuff I want in the 8 baby challenge but not in Sprucebug, and vice versa. (e.g. only the uberhood has the playable nannies mod, Spruceburg has the more dangerous fires mod, etc.)

Uhhhhh, in terms of organisation, I just try to label each folder clearly and keep all my not-in-use folders on my desktop so they're easy to find. I think the different icons make it easier to tell stuff apart! I keep all sort of sims stuff (programs, backups, projects, mods I am saving for later, neighbourhoods, etc) clumped together on my Desktop and tidy it up every once in a while xD

As for how to make the custom icons bc I imagine somebody might ask about this lol, you do it like this:

I downloaded a pack of Sims 4 icons years ago (I can't remember where, sorry!) and made them into .ico files, this was long enough ago I don't really remember the details but I found a wikihow article that explains it xD

Sorry this ended up a crazy-long reply lol, I will say that all this is really not remotely necessary and arguably is quite convoluted and messy, hahha. It's like this bc I have been playing for 10+ years 😅 but I really enjoy organising folders and the like lmao, it's so satisfying to me!

The underblog community, as much as I hate to say this, is dying, I get no asks, most people dont.

Most blogs have quit, the likes of even @kindness-and-friends and Infitrix, two of our long standing members, quitting due to inactivity and conflict with the underblog yellow

A lack of new blogs, new ideas, new events, and new asker's has left this community dry. And even if I stay, not much will happen

when will the hiatus end? When activity picks up, makes some blogs, have some fun, don't quit, stay determined.

FOB LORE POST Pt. 1

okay so tumblr ate the original ask i was responding to and now refuses to save/post all the edits i’ve made, so this post has to come out in two parts. i’d rate it surface level-knee deep lore (maybe some waist deep, maybe some neck deep idk we'll see)! i'll be focusing on pre-hiatus just cause post-hiatus is generally easier to find (but there will also be post-hiatus because i can't help myself). also curated to my tastes these are things that *i* always think about, so big disclaimer this is not everything. this part basically covers the fob extended universe (terms/people to know, blog links, and important texts here and there), links to unrealeased tracks/rares/covers, and a rundown on the origin story.

so here's some basic things to know:

FBR- Fueled by Ramen. baby's first record label. also host to a bunch of other notable acts from the scene.

FOBR- easy to mix up. literally just falloutboyrock.com, their website. hosted journal entries, updates, the webstore, and more.

Decaydance- record label owned by Patrick and Pete under FBR, founded in 2005 when Pete wanted to sign P!ATD and realized he didn't have label to do so. AWESOME ORAL HISTORY FEATURING PETE, TRAVIE, GABE, AND SPENCER. intro to Decaydance (included in article). relaunched as DCD2 in 2014.

QUITE A DYNAMIC with pete. part of the World's Most Hated Crew which were crew members primarily shared between mcr and fob, who had bad reputations for 1) their proximity to the bands 2) being scene kings/queens 3) gossip and drama. 2006, he and Pete have a massive falling out over their blogs. since then they've made up, still talk every once in awhile. he runs the catcade in chicago and emerges out of the woodwork to stir shit up every now and then. here's his livejournal. and another one. he also has a tumblr. so go hunting if you want. most of his updates are through instagram, he loves to troll.

NOW. as far as origin stories go. let’s start with pete who was a notable figure in the chicago hardcore scene, having been in bands on bands on bands, and very notably RACETRAITOR. pete, joe, patrick (i still haven’t found the source for patrick but it’s on wikipedia so i’ll include him) and andy have all at varying points played in racetraitor, and andy still plays with racetraitor when they get together. joe and pete become friends, joe driving him around because his license is suspended, and right around that time pete starts ARMA ANGELUS and when heychris can’t make it on tour, pete convinces joe’s parents to let him fill in on bass and they all go out on the road. when they come back, arma’s kinda its last leg and this is when pete and joe start talks for a pop-punk project. joe will play guitar, pete will play bass, now they just need a drummer and a singer.

so very important lore here, joe’s hanging out in borders when he’s interrupted by none other than one patrick stump who starts a lecture on music to which joe starts lecturing back, THIS IS HOW THEY MEET. i’ll let joe tell it (click for full view):

this continues into another important bit of lore, which is that joe dragged pete to patrick’s house so he could audition and patrick answered the door wearing a sweater, shorts, and socks. this is important, it comes up time and time again, patrick answered the door in an sweater, shorts and socks. it’s important. to both me and pete. he proceeds to show them all his talents, but when he sings, that’s when it clicks and everyone in the room says you’ve got a massive set of pipes there, you’re our singer. now, patrick didn’t care about singing, in other bands he had primarily focused on drums. but he wanted to be in a band that would let him write music and he also had admired pete from afar on the scene and so he agreed to sing.

they finally pull andy when they start recording seriously and their drummer can’t make it so they ask andy to fill in. andy at this point is a notable drummer in the scene, like he plays in so many bands and is referred to as “the metal drummer.” pete and andy have known each other for a long while and they've had their eye on him since the beginning, it's just that he's in various other bands and going to school so he hasn't had the time. but they ask him to fill in and everything just falls into place. i’ll let patrick tell it:

and they've been the same lineup for two decades now (outside of fill-ins every now and again for emergencies etc). as legend goes, they had switched out names quite a few times, fall out boy being one of them, referencing the character from the simpsons. one night they came out, said "we are [insert long drawn out complicated name here]" and a fan yelled "fuck that! you're fall out boy!" and they have been ever since.

Hey! Glad to hear from an Osblaine, even if this blog has gone pretty quiet as of late.

Wow, 2 years! Hard to believe, eh? Time is moving far too quickly.

As time passes, we are feeling a bit more optimistic about Osblaine and Nick. We think that with this being the final season that Lizzie & co are smart enough to see that the romance and Nick are key parts of a great show. We also think that with the long, long, longgggggg hiatus that the marketing of the show is going to go hard on Osblaine as the shippers are really good at making a lot of noise, something that this show is going to desperately need in a crowded market after such a long time between seasons. They can't market Osblaine genuinely heavily without the actual content to back it up. In hindsight it makes a lot of sense why there was essentially no Osblaine (aside from that fantasy kiss that was clearly thrown in to give us a bone) in the marketing of S5.

Furthermore the ratings for S5 were really bad. On Rotten Tomatoes it's sitting at a paltry 20%. Metacritic is at 5.2. Imdb has a S5 average of 7.8 and has 4 of the lowest rated episodes in the history of the show. That's unsustainable, especially if they want The Testaments to succeed. It's clear to us that things need to change and part of that change involves looking at what makes the show successful. Those things are (in no particular order): Lots of Osblaine, Nick, and June and the squad kicking ass and taking names. What doesn't result in success for the show? Luke, Juke, and June playing submissive housewife in Canada.

With that said, we have no confidence whatsoever that S6 will ever be as good as S1 or S2. We strongly suspect that S6 will be very similar to S4 in terms of Osblaine content, only with a more present Nick. As much as we want to see something as glorious as S1 and S2 again, we can accept something more like S4.

There are a lot of things I'm thinking after watching the Alex Hirsch interview but a lot of it really is how much I appreciate how much I have learned about storytelling and emotion and how much of that was through GF. I'm sure most of the people who were around back in the day aren't here anymore, but there was a theory called Grunk4Gramp that arose in the hiatus after NWHS and before ATOTS. It was essentially that, since we knew Stan had stolen Ford, (god, he was still Stanley at the time)'s identity, that Grunkle Stan was the twins' grandfather. And I don't remember my exact opinion at the time but then when the "Shermie's grandkids" line and the fandom exploded again. I don't remember exactly when I realized that, yeah, that is a bit of a sloppy solution, but emotionally, yeah. It can't be Stan or Ford because that would retroactively make one or both of them really, really bad. It would be heavy and super complicated to cover in half a season. And then hearing Alex literally say that, practically word for word, just makes me really happy.

It makes me think more about just the prevailing attitude of "oh they're geniuses they must have had a plan for everything!" level of deep scrutiny. Which like, honestly? Fair. Most of us were in high school or younger. GF was a show like no other. It encouraged this kind of behavior. In retrospect, the moment that started falling apart for me was when a lot of people were so deeply insistent on the slit pupil maybe-still-possessed-Bipper thing after NWHS that I just... It's like Grunk4Gramp. What kind of storytelling would it be if Dipper wasn't making any of his own decisions? What would we even gain from the story then?

Being a creator is very difficult. Even as creators, we often forget that people who make things are still human and make mistakes. We sometimes forget that things can't be perfect and shiny and are just going to be good enough. We fight for those emotional beats and sometimes it'll make something inconsistent. Or sometimes something will fall a little flat. Or sometimes something will fall really flat. And that it happens to everyone, even creators we really love and respect. The best we can do as people is fight for the story we want to tell, not filling every plot hole and demanding an answer for every little thing. It's fun to be the second -- god, don't I know it. It is SO MUCH FUN overanalyzing things, ask literally any of my friends -- but knowing that something being complicated and intricate doesn't mean its good and vice versa.

Anyway I just really respect the GF crew and how much they put into this show, even now, 12 fucking years later. I really respect and love the fandom and all the wild shit that came out of it. My main creative project right now wouldn't exist if it wasn't for an offshoot fandom of the GF fandom, which is really a weird thing to say out of context. I just miss it.

(So… been a while, huh?

First off just wanted to apologize for the sudden hiatus this blog has taken! Burnout sucks, and I’ve been dealing with a lot of things irl as well. But some people have reached out saying they missed Carrion, and honestly, I have too :)

Only thing is, right now I’m not sure what to do. The storyline we were making was incredibly fun, but right now it feels as though we’ve written ourselves into a corner. I feel a bit stuck on where to go from here. So, here’s where you guys come in!

Let me elaborate on the options a bit more!

Current Storyline Timeskip: Right now in the story, it’s headed to where Carrion and the humans would find the Autobots and eventually seek shelter with them, if not just join them entirely. The timeskip would skip the whole process of finding the Autobots and joining them, and we’d just cut to when Carrion and the humans are somewhat at peace. They’d still have the cons looking for them, but Carrion would still be the nicer version of himself he is now.

Story Reset: Sort of self explanatory. All the previous posts of the old storyline would remain, however they would not be considered “canon” to the blog anymore. Carrion would return to being his most originally canon self— that being mean and uncaring. Yet he’ll still have these humans to begrudgingly take care of… essentially just starting the blog all over again.

And that’s it! Basically, I just really want to bring the blog back, but I’m not sure the best way to do it. So I thought might as well ask you guys :) I’m looking forward to seeing the results! And as always, thank you so much for your support and enjoying this silly little blog :) )

I just finished reading the ask you got sent earlier from Ali’s blog and how she mentioned essentially the show not dragging the Tommy of it all out and them not having the time to do so. And getting the boys into position for where they need, especially before Chris is brought back into the mix. I agree with all of that, especially I don’t see Tommy being dragged out to long. (For various in show reasons and out of show reasons)

I’m very curious on what your thoughts are for them doing buddie by the mid season finale. (Or both of yours if it’s something you guys have discussed)

I’ve felt for a while now that that’s when it will happen. Making it the season finale while yes would give them the summer to promo it, also runs the risk of alienating people by making it take to long to get there considering how long it’s been already. Not to mention I’m sure the time jump will be back in effect next season (I feel like it’s only not this season because of the nature of the stories and where they left off in season 7) so if it was the season finale we’d essentially lose out on all the beginning of their relationship stuff that people have been waiting years to see finally happen.

But with the mid season finale cliffhanger? It gives them the winter hiatus to pump out interviews, PR, gives them a nice cliff hanger to draw people back in for 8B which is usually when the show needs something big to draw the crowd in again. It gives us time to see them start navigating their new aspects of the relationship as a couple and as a family with Chris. And they will be able to ride that wave of press and Pr through the winter break, summer break and into season 9 because let’s be real. Being the network to have the first slow burn queer relationship launch? It’s gonna generate so much press. ABC would be dumb to not milk that for as long as possible.

And with the way certain things have been lining up like Max Gao saying yesterday or the day before, that Tim told him in the interview they just sat down for they are filming through episode 6/7 right now. With Ryan posting that Don Diaz photo which I think we all correctly guessed was him about to film the shaving scene which as we know from Tim was important, lining up with the episode 6/7 range.

The timing of when we found out Ryan was filming in the church mixed with him following the actor who plays the priest.

It’s all lining up nicely for that episode 4 (his 100th) through episode 7 arc range of things falling into place for Eddie leading into episode 8-10, which is the range for the 8A finale depending where they want the episode count to fall in terms of an extra episode on 8A or an extra on in 8B.

That's an interesting theory Nonny.🤔

I have to admit that personally I'm more inclined to the 'Eddie and Buck separately figure out they're into each other' arc by the end of 8A and in 8B we'll get the exploration of those feelings and it will eventually all culminate to the natural Buddie climax at the end of 8B. It would make for an interesting Summer hiatus. They don't have to start S9 with a time jump if they don't want to. I don't think that is set in stone.

I think midseason is probably too early for a true Buddie arc to begin.

Now, don't get me wrong. I like your theory a lot and I agree that it makes sense from a promotional point of view. But I doubt that they'll go that fast. They will want to milk this story for all that it's worth.

Let's just say Nonny, that... if it turns out I'm wrong and you're right? I won't be all that upset about it. 😋🤗😏
