Now hold on a gosh-diddly-darn minute, I noticed the entire time talking about a tipsy Peppino no one thought to ask this but what about tipsy GUS? I mean we saw him a li'l tipsy in the fastfood saloon escape, can I hear your thoughts about that/him please? Have they ever gotten tipsy together?
(I just like the mental image of the two alone, just being real giggly with each other (Gus just says "hey" and Peppi starts giggling which sets Gus off giggling) and being sappy goofs with each other <3)
HEEHEE u are so right and i am so sorry for withholding this information from the masses 😭
My homebrew for gnomes is that they are simultaneously hardy folk (able to eat virtually anything and immune to most poisonous creatures) AND extremely intolerant of alcohol. Theres no reason for that, i just like it alot :)
So Gus would be an extreme lightweight 😭 its SO bad; he cant speak clearly at all, he cant walk straight, he has the Worst hangovers and he wont remember anything from the previous night. The line between ‘pleasantly buzzed’ and ‘blackout drunk’ is so thin that Gus doesnt even try social drinking. If he MUST drink, it will be in the comfort of his own barebones apartment 😭 at least, until Peppino started hanging out with vigilante and his crew.
Gustavo LIKES drinking! Its just hard to find a good balance, and THATS bc he simply doesnt know how alcohol works. Peppino is like:
“Look ‘ere. All of these have a number somewhere on the bottle. Or a percentage. Lower the number, the better it is for you.”
Gustavo is like !!! Oh!!! That is very helpful! What would you recommend for me then?
“Probably…2-5%. 5-10 proof. Small 'a numbers.”
Gustavo nods, interested. He points at a bottle he recognizes from the last time he came here and got shitfaced. “That one up there; do you know how ‘a strong that one is? Or should i ask the bartender?”
Peppino squints at the company label. “45%.”
“Oh!” That makes sense. “Well what do you usually drink?”
“70%.”
“Oh!”
Peppino recommends some of the LIGHT light wines, the ones that barely have a hint of anything. Theyre sweet (which Gustavo loves so very very much) and for the first time in a very long time, he Stays buzzed instead of immediately faceplanting into being blackout drunk.
Hes very. Playful. Is what Peppino would describe a tipsy Gustavo. He hesitates to use the term ‘flirty’ because that is not whats happening. But hes like. Clearly entertaining some gruff looking men like five times his size as they ramble drunkenly about random shit like ‘waow….thasso cool…and then what happened???’
Its funny at first bc Gustavo is so fucking TINY that all you can see of him, in the group of men as they yapyapyap about some inane shit that Gustavo wont even remember, is his tiny little tail 😭 It is less funny, however, when Peppino catches himself rambling about work and Gustavo is like (ears perked; tail swaying) ‘mmhmm. wrow…thats ‘a kinda nice…what else did you do??’ Peppino is like *buffering* (‘something is happening right now that will need to be addressed at a later time. Do not forget DO NOT FORGET. URGENT!!!!’)
Otherwise Gustavo is just a silly guy. Vigilante will make a joke and he laughs so low and deep that he sounds downright villainous 😭 Peppino will point out something stupid on the TV and like hours later Gus is like ‘…heeeuehuuueee…..do u remember [insert stupid reference] and Peppino will giggle. Peppinos affinity for throwing around ilus are met with Gustavo going ‘😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊’ with absolutely no way to even pretend to mask it.
Gustavo has fun being out in the saloon but he really enjoys drinking in Peppinos house. Its not nearly as loud as the saloon and theres usually homecooked foods like breads and soups (Because Peppino stress-cooks ALL the time). Brick gets to stay indoors instead of waiting outside the saloon, so Gustavo gets to mess with his soft fur contentedly. He just gets to be cozy; its quite nice 😊

I’m convinced that the 7 deadly sins are like Aunts and Uncles to Charlie, some closer to family than others lmao (Lookin at you Mammon)
This is probably the first time Asmodeus met Charlie and also became the go to baby sitter despite the awkward start.
I’ve got some more ideas for Bee and Asmodeus that I’ll make some other mini comics for at some point,
But Bee would probably be more like a bad influence older sister and Asmodeus would always be on call for Charlie as she got older (especially when dealing with teen angst and love problems), when Lilith or Lucifer weren’t around (which was probably often)

If you manage to get this man to settle down AND have a kid with you, he (and your kid) is going to make your life a living hell and heaven.
Nagumo would be an unpredictable but fun dad, always coming up with spontaneous activities to keep his kid happy and entertained.
He'd pull small pranks on and with his child, like hiding their favourite toy or sneaking up on them, just to see them laugh when they catch him.
You know peekaboo? Think to the EXTREME! Gumo covering his kid's eyes and VOILA he's a whole 'nother person! (Warning: this may or may not traumatize your child, like, have you seen the videos where babies cry after their dads just shave their beards???) Soon, I'm sure the kid will get used to it and can tell when their dad is disguised better than you can.
Despite his carefree attitude, he'd be fiercely protective, always keeping an eye on his kiddo from the shadows to make sure they're safe.
He'd make teaching self-defence a game, showing his child how to be quick and nimble without making it feel like a strict lesson.
Nagumo would struggle with deep emotional conversations, but he'd always be a good listener when his child wanted to talk, especially if they were feeling down. He'd be on their level (much to your chagrin.)
On that note, you most likely will have to be the 'mean' to his 'fun' parent. Don't even get me started on the 'birds and the bees' talk. He might even volunteer to do it, but I wouldn't count on him to do it properly.
Physical affection would be a big thing for him—playfully ruffling his child's hair, giving them gentle pats on the back, blowing raspberries on their cheeks and bellies, or even picking them up for a hug and swinging them around. Just keep an eye out in case he starts throwing the kid in the air (you can trust him to always catch them, but you don't want either of them getting too carried away).
He'd probably joke around with other parents and show up at school events unpredictably, causing a stir with his antics, but always making his child feel proud and loved.
Nagumo would encourage his child to be independent, letting them figure things out on their own while secretly making sure they're safe every step of the way.
When it comes to advice, he'd drop bits of wisdom disguised as offhand remarks, teaching his child important life lessons in the most unconventional ways.
He wouldn't follow a strict parenting style, instead preferring to give his kiddo the freedom to explore the world, knowing he'd always be there if they needed him.
If his kid ever felt embarrassed or shy about something, Gumo would immediately do the same thing, just to make them laugh and feel better about it.
He would tell white lies / unrealistic jokes to his kid because he believes children and their innocence should be protected (and maybe teased for their naïveté). "Santa is fosho real!" "I went to Area 51 a while back!" "If you eat your carrots, you can see in the dark like me!"
Nagumo would spoil tf out of his kid--whether it's toys or sweets. He'd be responsible for all their potential cavities, but he'd also ensure the kiddo brushes their teeth every time (maybe even using one of those fun songs to count the time, etc). The kid would never think of it as a chore with him around.
When the kid is young-young, like still a toddler/preschool-aged and did things to get them in trouble, Gumo would get scolded along with them (but mostly him, because he should know better and it's probably his own dang influence). When the kid is school-aged, they will get scolded equally (except you can withhold a lot more from Nagumo lmao). I'm going to post a mini scenario of this one within the next few days! Stay tuned!!! (Part 2: You v. Nagumo and Toddler up!)

Thank you for brainstorming with me, Memi (@dearsecretlover)! The spoiled rotten with toys and scolding were just 🤌 the best additions!

that music headcanon question and post was genius! can you do that for the rest of the villages pretty pleaseee 🩵
oh my god, that was quick lmao i just had to do it. two minutes after posting, goddamn. here's a music headcanon i have for you, anon.
tagging @danceofthexdragons because she was the one who made the initial request c:
Music In The Narutoverse
I think in Kirigakure, most music that can be heard originates from either the union of fishermen or monks, as many cultures have been. wiped out due to their ongoing political unrest. As for the fishermen, some popular instruments are steel drums, which can sound like this or like this. Gamelans are often played near the temples up high in the mountains, the wind carries their sound across the village. Radios aren't really used.
Iwagakure's traditional music is very percussion heavy, using various kinds of drums and gongs. They have fallen in love with the guzheng, aka the moon guitar. Another instrument originating from there is the erhu, which Kirigakure citizens also really enjoy listening to and consider a high class/fancy instrument. These are the kind of songs Iwagakure ninja can hear in their radio, Onoki's favorite is this one. High up in the mountains, sounds like these can be heard. These horns are used to communicate between different valleys.
As a stronghold of trade, Kumogakure's music has been shaped by many cultural influences. One of the more traditional instruments in Kumogakure is the cowbell/agogo bell. Kumo citizens enjoy music from all across the shinobi world, including songs in foreign languages. As a rather technologically advanced village, it is not uncommon to hear electric guitars and synthesizers be used in their music. Here are some songs I think could be heard on the Kumo radio. As for Killer Bee, here are some of his faves.
In Uzushiogakure, an instrument that could often be heard in traditional music is the anklung, as well as the t'rung. Music was often performed for the whole village, and everyone was invited.
As for many western instruments, those have originated in the Country Of Knights. This country was only mentioned in the movies, but for the sake of it, I will consider it canon as well. While their traditional music sounded somewhat like this, sounds like these here weren't uncommon as well. It was popularized by immigrants from the country of knights.
As stated before, Madara Uchiha was a skilled pianist, his sharingan allowed him to read sheet music while playing, here are some of the pieces he played. Madara often played this piece for his siblings to make them laugh.

//FOR MOD BEE
how aware is ragatha generally while the influence has the usual level of control?
the influence while in control of the body displays the host, ragathas, personality and mannerisms, albeit imperfectly, and ofc as a mask.
is that purely the virus entity trying to emulate the personality of the host, or is it more the host still speaking and reacting, but with percpetion/personality heavily influenced by the virus?
(sorry for the long ask and dw about answering it if its in spoiler territory, also everything else bellow is just rambling thoughts on this blog and atrg that i just wanted to share.)
im just really really intersted in how it looks like or feels like inside ragathas head, like, how much of the virus' influence does she consider to be part of herself, such interesting directions we can explore in terms of whats going on in ragathas head
also, just wanna say, I LOVE your interpretation of ragatha in general and this entire influence situation is SUCH a fun way to explore her psyche :D it just makes my brain buzz in the best way, the influence has been stuck in my head for the last few weeks.
really excited to see what else you have in store for breaking open and showing off whatevers going on in that ragdolls head. gotta love a thorough dissection and deconstruction of a characters personhood and ego :D made all the better by how DELICIOUS your angst is for rags
uh yeah, again sorry for the kilometer long post, have a great day/night! //
-robot anon
// i seriously don't know how to explain it well ... a weird mix of both ? unaware enough to be compliant and not fully comprehend what's going on , but aware enough that you know there's something deeply wrong no matter how much these funny voices in your head tell you otherwise .
other than that , the virus is always in control which i hope is clear when that happens here ^^;
also thank you ! character studies underneath layers of angst have always been my favorite thing to write , especially since i couldn't find a lot of that kind of thing for rags . sorry ragatha someone has to create it LMAO //

Just a tiny little side note; I’ve noticed another popular Vox headcanon throughout the fandom was that he had a daughter when he was alive - and said daughter was either
an innocent child who ends up dying tragically young directly before Vox’s death
an innocent child who ends up loosing her father when she was incredibly young and never truly knows how terrible he was
either way it leaves for Vox to suffer with emotions except NO! cause he suppresses them to the max lol (it causes more damage lmao!!!)
also seen people use this to layer Vox as a villain by showing more “softer sides” (well as soft as somebody like Vox could be)
Absent father who somewhat loves his kids to think about them & buy them plenty of gifts but not enough to actually be around
He will buy the ballet slippers but he will not be at the dance recital basically
Maybe juuusst maybe he will bring them along on “take your kid to work day” but will probably treat them like trophy children to show off
“Yeah. She got the 1st place in the spelling bee out of her entire elementary!! She’s also a piano prodigy! Ain’t she a smart girl? I’M such a good dad!!”
(Maybe Tom has gifted child burnout)
Oh, I wasn’t aware that Vox having kids was a popular headcanon. Yeah, Sarah definitely falls into the latter category; she lived to a ripe old age and clung on to the handful of fond memories of her dad, remaining in denial about how much of an asshole he really was, despite her brother and mother’s attempts to convince her otherwise (although the other day I came up with an idea where Vox’s kids die young in a car accident (their mother was driving under the influence) and end up in Hell for some reason. Vox probably kills their mom— partially out of anger for getting them killed, partially just because he wanted them for himself— or just picks them up off the streets if she survived the crash and takes them into his care. He keeps them hidden away (possibly in a literal fish tank since they’re both aquatic demons) to protect them from those who might try to harm them to get to him. He gives them all the material comforts they could ever want but never lets them out of his cameras' sight— he’s somehow both a helicopter parent and still super neglectful).
Vox sort of saw his kids more as facets of the “perfect life” he constructed for himself rather than as full people. The All-American Man™ was supposed to be the doting father of 2.5 kids, so that’s what he decided to be. Sarah slotted into that role well because of her timid, docile, and unconditionally loving personality, but Tommy was always more wise to how shitty and fake that image was and refused to fully play into it. As a result, Vox found it easier to interact with Sarah since she craved and would happily accept his affection/attention whenever he bothered to be around, whereas Tommy always looked at him with a more critical/resentful eye. He did genuinely love both his kids, but his self-absorption poisoned his relationships with them.
He’d provide them with all the material comforts they might need but never actually made time for them, only showing up when it was convenient for him. He loved bragging about their achievements to colleagues; he didn’t pressure them to excel that much since his own parents made his childhood miserable by constantly pushing him to be The Best at everything and he didn’t want to inflict that on them, although he could get pretty snappish when he felt like Tommy wasn’t performing his baseline role as The Happy, Perfect Son™. Vox would be thrilled if he ever reunited with him in Hell and learned he went into government— his son, a governor/state representative!— and even though Tom doesn’t want to want this asshole’s approval… he still kinda does.
Thankfully, after 170 years of Insane Stuff, Vox has gone through enough that when he reunites with Sarah in Heaven, he actually wants to build a real relationship with her. He has a hard time accepting his past faults as a father, but he’d too worn-down to continue being a phony asshole, and, well, now he’s got nothing but time to work on correcting those flaws.

switchblade | masters of the air | taster pt. 2 a/n: did anyone ask for this? no lmao prepare to receive my [redacted] [redacted] anyway (lore accurate mariner quote)
It is at Thorpe Abbotts that Mariner decides coming here is functionally a grounding. Try as she reluctantly might, she simply cannot imagine herself flying a B-17. The controls are all wrong, or at least she thinks they should be. Her hand will automatically reach for the throttle that is supposed to be on her left and instead it will grasp at nothing, empty space. And when she tries to locate and operate the weapons control systems she will be immediately humbled by the reminder that she is no longer responsible for controlling the guns in this aircraft.
No, there are other people in the aircraft for that. Nine other people, in fact. Nine other people to navigate and operate the radio and fire the top turret and ball turret and so on and so forth. Her job is simply to keep the aircraft flying, the most rudimentary definition of what a pilot is.
She supposes Tillotson wasn’t spewing complete bullshit when he said that she had a particular skill set that could – the keyword being could – make her a valuable bomber pilot. And that was that she knows the vulnerabilities inherent within every bomber. If she knows these vulnerabilities, if she knows what enemy aircraft will be aiming for when they inevitably fly into an onslaught of them, then she knows how to circumvent them.
Like that’s going to happen, another voice in her head says. You can’t even do evasive manoeuvres in this toaster.
Frustrated, Mariner slams her fist down on the metal beam that she is sitting on. An officer walking in her direction flinches at the sound.
“Lieutenant Mariner?” he asks.
Mariner looks up at the insignia on his shoulders: a gold oak leaf, horizontal, stem pointing his collar. The insignia of a major. Rank has been pulled, albeit indirectly. She jumps down from the beam and salutes him.
“Sir,” she says. “Sorry for startling you.”
The major smiles politely in answer, a lopsided though somewhat guarded smile that seems to suggest tolerance. He’s young for an officer of his rank. In fact, he cannot possibly be more than a few years older than Mariner, yet he has obviously been entrusted by his superiors with a rank normally held by men who have a greater advantage of age on him. Mariner wonders what that must have taken. What buzzwords are on his resume? Strategic vision? Tactical acumen? Effective communication? Team player? Maybe, like her, he has a father who makes a habit out of overextending his influence. After all, nepotism has been here long before she was born and will continue to remain here long after she is dead. It is the beginning and the end, the first enemy and the last, et cetera.
But this officer doesn't seem to be one of those. He doesn't, for starters, wear his insignia as though it is an accessory that he knows looks better on everyone else.
“Don’t worry,” he says. “I’m not that easily startled. But it did take me a while to find you. You were supposed to report directly to me, but I had to ask around until Lemmons helpfully told me he saw someone who might have looked a little like you head straight into the hangar.”
“Just trying to get an up close and personal look at the tin can I’ll be flying, sir.”
The major nods, as though he can understand the sentiment of a pilot wanting to evaluate a new plane to which they have been assigned, though Mariner doubts he’d understand exactly how much she despises the idea of getting into one of these things that reminds her of a bee in that neither, according to all known laws of aviation, should be able to fly. But the major doesn’t seem to be reading into it at all. Instead, he looks up at a nearby B-17, and Mariner instinctively follows his gaze. The same aircraft she has spent the past ten minutes disparaging in every measurable way, shape and form in her head, and imagining herself shooting down in aerial combat, which would have been an amusing pastime were she not going to be piloting one of these planes herself. Yet he’s looking at it as though it’s an old friend.
“That’s no tin can, Mariner. That’s a B-17. She’s not as sleek or nimble as a fighter, but she’s sturdy, reliable and strong, and she can take a beating like no other. I couldn’t ask for a better plane to fly in. You just transferred from the 157th?”
“Yes, sir.”
“I’ve seen your records. You’re a solid Mustang pilot. You might find it harder to get used to the B-17 than I did, but she’ll grow on you. I’m Major Gale Cleven.”
“Olivia Mariner.”
Belatedly Mariner remembers that Cleven absolutely knows who she is already. Even through the embarrassment, however, she can appreciate the fact that if he is aware of the real reason for her reassignment, he’s consciously choosing not to mention it. She looks back up at the B-17 and tries to see it the way she imagines Cleven must, a literal flying fortress, but all she can think is that it is an ugly aircraft that is much too large to the point where its largeness looks like a mistake.
“You said she can take a beating, sir?” she asks, knocking on the aluminium.
“She certainly can. She’s earned her reputation for toughness, that’s for sure.” He reaches out, swipes his hand along the nose of the aircraft, as though wiping away dust that has collected there in a familiar gesture. “She’s designed to withstand heavy enemy fire and still deliver her payload while bringing her crew home safely.”
Mariner nods sceptically, her eyes narrowing slightly as she studies the bomber. “Okay, so she can tank enemy fire. But can she evade it altogether? That’s what’s going to make all the difference when it comes to bringing the crew back.”
Cleven offers a knowing smile at Mariner’s bluntness, as though he has long figured out that she would ask that question sooner or later, and it is clear she has opted for sooner. “She’s no Mustang, Mariner, but she’s no slouch either. If you want to manoeuvre the B-17, you have to go easy on the yoke. Besides, when you’re in a formation flying together, you have the strength of numbers. Each pilot requires both practice and discipline to maintain formation, and when you’re out there in the air, everyone watches each other’s back. That’s how we fly our missions and that’s how we come back in one piece. All of us, together.”
And there it is. The inevitable cattle prod in her side. This conversation is getting a little pointed for Mariner’s liking now, considering the reason she was bumped out of her former squadron was supposedly because of her inability to adhere to a formation. She wonders if Cleven knows this already, whether Tillotson has included some kind of addendum on her report about her apparent Achilles’ heel as a fighter pilot. Excellent, Tillotson, she thinks irately to herself. You can’t get me to stay in a formation, so you put me in an aircraft where I’ll literally die if I don’t. Very well played. Have you been taking lessons from my father? Maybe the two of you should sit down together for a drink sometime and discuss all the many methods you might choose to employ for colossally fucking up my life. Dickheads. But she does not say any of this. Instead she asks, in a perfectly calm and even tone of voice that a perfectly calm and even individual might use, “Who will I be flying with?”
“We’re putting together a crew for you,” Cleven tells her. “Rest assured. You won’t be integrating into the unit alone.”
Then he pauses for a brief moment, glancing up at the B-17. “As a pilot, you’ll learn to appreciate her strengths,” he says. “She’s resilient and a force to be reckoned with. And in the end, it’s not about the plane you fly, but how you fly it. Wouldn’t you agree, Lieutenant Mariner?”
Mariner considers this. Her gaze drifts from Cleven to the B-17 obfuscating her peripheral vision that is almost certainly going to be the death of her within the next six months, but she actually thinks about Cleven’s words. Superior officers tend to attempt to get through to her in one of two ways: either through the carrot or the stick. Neither works on her: she sees through the carrot immediately – thereby also identifying a superior officer that is more interested in placating his men than leading them – and any and all stick wielders are classified as delusional self-important men throwing tiny-fisted tantrums and asserting themselves through the little power they are afforded by the chain of command, thereby immediately and permanently losing her respect. Tillotson falls in the third category of simply being annoying. Yet Cleven doesn’t seem to fall in any prescribed category. This could simply mean he’s better than others at concealment. But it could also mean he doesn’t see her as something to be managed.
“You’re right, sir,” she says, pale blue eyes appraising the aircraft with a measuring gleam. “I think I know exactly how I’m going to fly this.”
Cleven actually cracks a smile. “That’s the spirit, but maybe you should take her out for a test flight before you get too sure of yourself. I’ve booked you in for three hours this afternoon. Come by the hangar at 1500. We’ll see if you can get her into the air.”
Mariner nods, a single dip of the chin downward. “Trust me, I can do much more than get her into the air.”
“Good,” Cleven says. “Because that’s what the Krauts are gonna be expecting. Why don’t you go get yourself set up? Irvine will show you your room and get all the admin sorted out. Report to the hangar at 1500 sharp. And Mariner?”
“Sir?”
“Try not to beat up the metal beams too much while you’re in here. The acoustics in the hangar aren’t exactly forgiving in terms of the echo. A lesser man might have pissed himself.”
The corners of Mariner’s lips lift into an almost imperceptible smile. She’s not going to tempt Cleven to thinking she’s actually warming up to him, of course, even though she appreciates that he seems to be allowing her the courtesy of a clean slate, something that should be frustrating her instead because she hasn’t done anything that has warranted the necessity of a clean slate in the first place. Being reassigned to the 100th is miserable enough without a superior officer like Tillotson trying to turn every patrol briefing into a veritable circlejerk. But Cleven isn’t Tillotson, and Mariner’s almost imperceptible smile seems to be enough for him already, because he takes the hint and smiles back – politely but not clinically – and walks away as though this interaction has been the most natural thing in the world for him.
Huh. Perhaps she now has, for the first time in her three-year career, a superior officer she can actually get along with.
Left to her own devices, Mariner looks resentfully up at the B-17s, their cumbersome-looking metallic bodies glinting with rays of sunlight that come in from the open sides of the hangar and reflect off the painted aluminium. They look back down at her, unblinking.
Whoever was responsible for designing the shape of their noses should be shot, Mariner thinks. The entire structure is an area of stress concentration. Any impact applied to it would lead to mass structural failure across the entire aircraft, not to mention that it would instantly kill the bombardier. Why is the bombardier stationed in the nose section anyway? She reaches out a hand, runs it along the nose as Cleven had done earlier, and feels no additional affection for the aircraft as she absently imagined she might have done.
It’s the pilot. Not the plane. Mariner repeats this to herself like a mantra, as though the act of repetition might somehow will the statement into becoming reality. A part of her finds it to be a frustrating restriction: if she fails to master the controls of a B-17 then it would be entirely on her, a reflection of the limitations in her abilities as a pilot. It would give Cleven ammunition to use against her if he so wishes, and she doesn’t like the idea of giving anyone any kind of ammunition to use against her.
But another part of her challenges this assumption. It’s all in your hands, she thinks. Exactly how you want it. You alone control this aircraft. Just you. You decide whether it rolls or turns, whether it pulls up or dives, how to operate it to best meet situational needs. You decide whether its purpose is to simply tank enemy fire or if you can turn it into what you want it to be.
She might as well train herself to start thinking this way; she doesn’t have much of a choice otherwise. Fortunately for her, she’s already figured out an alarming plethora of ways she could shoot a B-17 down. Now her role is to defend it. More than defend it: her role is to evolve it. Cleven is right. The B-17 would never come close to a P-51. But while aircraft cannot change their structural components, the pilot is at perfect liberty to change their tactics, and it’s convenient that doing so is the mark of a good pilot anyway, which she is. Exactly how non-manoeuvrable is the B-17 anyway? She privately hopes that Cleven is actually right, that the aircraft is unbreakable. Because whatever doesn’t break will bend.
If I can’t find a way, then the others definitely have no chance, she thinks to herself. And then, Jesus Christ, shut the hell up, Mariner. This is no time to get cocksure. You haven’t even gotten in the aircraft yet.
Mariner pauses.
She looks up at the B-17 in front of her. At the hangar full of B-17s in front of her. Unmanned. Fuselage and bomb bay doors in plain sight. Exterior steps attached.
Unless…?
A full crew of ten is not needed to fly the B-17, surely. Any plane can get off the ground with just the pilot alone. Especially a pilot like her who is accustomed to flying single-engine single-seat fighters, where – once you’re up in the air – there’s no one to help you. Besides, how different can the controls be, anyway? They’re all the same in every aircraft. Elevator, ailerons, rudder, throttle, trim tabs. She could make her way around the controls in her sleep. A small, determined smile curves her lips.
She’s taken off and landed successfully more than a hundred times. She’s a lieutenant and an ace pilot. She’s served in both the RAF and the USAAF on a technicality, and operated multiple different fighter aircraft while she’s at it. She’s hardly a fresh-faced flight school graduate; she doesn’t have to wait for Cleven’s supervision for a simple test flight. In fact, Cleven will probably appreciate that she’s showing initiative and actually making an effort to integrate into the 100th. Maybe if he relays a glowing report of her back to Tillotson – fuck that bitch, Mariner thinks, but he’s still her superior officer – he might expedite her reassignment back to a fighter squadron. Where she belongs. Maybe she’ll even get to have her old P-51 back.
With that in mind, she steps up into the B-17 before her, mindful of the bulkheads as she ducks into the cockpit and slides deftly into the pilot seat. The flight controls and instrument panel look similar enough to that of a P-51. Engine gauges, altimeters, attitude indicators, turn coordinators, compasses, throttle quadrant, the usual assemblage. Everything needed to get this tin can, which she must now grow accustomed to as her designated aircraft for the next several months, up into the air. She can figure them out in no time.
So she sets the fuel selector valves. Checks the propeller pitch controls, like she has done countless times before.
And she cranks the engine.
“Sir?”
Gale Cleven looks up from the report wedged behind the cylinder of the typewriter on the desk before him at Master Sergeant Ken Lemmons, who stands in the doorway of his office, his breaths coming out in short, shallow gasps, his face overwrought with evident distress. Cleven pauses, his brows furrowing.
“What is it?”
“Lieutenant Mariner? The new pilot?” Lemmons’s face is white with panic.
“Yeah, I just spoke to her in the hangar. What happened?”
A hint of reluctance washes over Lemmons’s features, as though he is still privately hoping very much that he won't have to be the person to relay this information. But he eventually speaks.
“Sir, Lieutenant Mariner crashed a B-17 on the runway.”
And then Gale's day takes a rapid turn for the worse.

God please I hope they don’t do redeem or ‘she was influenced’ like more complex character is great but not redeem
THIS IS LITERALLY. SO REAL.
I full heartedly believe there COULD be a chance she started her research with good intentions. Whether that be just to learn, or to help khaneri'ah as a whole I have no clue, but. But at this state; you CANNNOT tell me she's redeemable anymore.
She has not only fed multiple of her children she deemed failures to another one, but she has very clearly traumatized every single one of them in ways that probably aren't something family therapy will do much good for. And even though for the most part a lot of her creations still look up to her (I.E; durin, elynas, wolf lord, and albedo (??) ) it's obviously a very toxic sense of idolization since. no hate. but listening to the way durin and elynas describe her make me very iffy on if shes the greatest mother out there LMAO I know the forbidden knowledge & fontaine story quest are obviously setting up for Rhine's character. She probably acquired or even acted as the catalyst to forbidden knowledge in teyvat; and the idea of a human being made immortal while having none of the bandwith to handle it. But dear god if they actually try making her like. forgivable by moral standards. I will cry. Tears will stream down my face and I will leave my life as it is to become a bee keeper somewhere in the south to cope.
Even if Hoyo wants her to be playable; it'd be far smarter for them to have it in the same sense of her and the traveler coming to some mutual benefit of each other. Or even then, very reluctant allies because of the whole celestia circumstance and the fact shes probably one of the only people that could help us actually fight against them considering her. Concerningly large amount of homicidal kids.

Ask from wlwdwtys that was so big I decided to make it a separate post! Fault spoilers and violence mention incoming. Warning: BEEFY
1. What would the plot look like in a swap au? Specifically, the characters swap personalities. How they came to develop such different personalities in the same circumstances? Who knows. You, probably. Specifically, Tubbo swaps with Wilbur (cause I thought that their morals differ the most.), Phil swaps with Ranboo (their attachment styles and powers do not match up at all. Imagine being like 100000 and still having social anxiety.) and the Blade swaps with Tommy. Ranboo got chucked in cause there are 5 characters in the fault crew and it didn't match up.
Interesting ask given how much their backstories and powers influence personalities and morality systems. Alright I need new names to keep this straight. Wilbur in Tubbo body is Wilbee, reverse is Tubbur. The Blade in Tommy body is The Dagger, reverse is Tommurder. Ranboo in Philza body is Ranburn, reverse is Philzand but is probably never going to be important. I think for the sake of keeping Ranboo’s personality we might make them an embodiment of Fire and Fluster rather than Fire and Fury lmao.
Wilbee would come to a rather similar philosophy to Tubbo, albeit for different reasons. Tubbo and Wil are pretty different re: humans and society, though Wilbur tends to be the easiest swayed towards pacifism because running usually has the least risk and he cares about survival not revenge. Wilbee is a pragmatist and only attacks so it won’t die, but bee stings would kill it, so it would tend towards pacifism but not care about enforcing that belief on others. Fascinating. Tubbur is big on controlling the void, sees any use of it as a corruption that jeopardizes the world. Relies heavily on Ranburn for containment. Ranburn works surprisingly well on the philosophy front since cRanboo and Philza both have the stance of picking people not sides (or ethics). Very much less gung-ho about murder. But nobody’s perfect.
Early timeline changes: Ranburn adopts Tubbur. Or perhaps this Collection looks more like a romantic relationship for bee duo…? Mm. The timeline would have to shift pretty wildly for that to have them meet later once Tubbur is an adult, but it wouldn’t have many long term impacts. Which could be the case, since Ranburn probably isn’t going on a revenge quest after Anderson dies. (Ending 1: Ranburn and Tubbur never meet.) Unlike Wilbur, Tubbos’ reaction to isolation was to desperately reach out to anyone they could. Would be pretty injured trust still since Rhodes intervened when Tubbo was 5/Phil when Wilbur was 14 vs being an adult, but Tubbur would be far easier to win over. Now, Tubbo can be very dishonest about their emotions, but they wouldn’t mistake their longing for loathing like Wilbur does. But they are also about as desperate for connections to people as Tommy is. Fully I think they’d set up a house in the middle of nowhere and live really peacefully, using online connections to help Tubbur’s isolation. (Ending 2: Tommurder never finds them). Tommurder probably roams around looking just like The Blade. He’s less looking for control over The Blood God (which is poor compared to The Blade) and more looking for people to ~pester~ talk to. Integrates himself in the group if he finds Ranburn and Tubbur. The Dagger/Tommurder summoning goes pretty much the same. Ranburn doesn’t have the same principles about promises as Philza, only people. They would immediately rescue everyone (Ending 3: SBI saved, Wilbee has no one in the Foundation).
I can’t picture baby Wilbee Collecting Jasmine, so the community isn’t going to become hostile to it. Which is good because Wilbee needs no reinforcement on that end. Wilbee is HELLA distrustful of Rhodes at first. But Rhodes is a patient and determined sort, though it might take a couple years to get through that thick hive skull. Wilbee has a far more stable childhood, and turns out even more pro human than Tubbo since they still dealt with things like getting shot by Jasmine’s parents and so can be cautious. (Ending 4: Wilbee isn’t cautious enough, word gets out. The Foundation captures him as a kid. After years in the Foundation during a crucial developmental period, it likely loses hope by the time the rest are captured and is useless for escapes because he wouldn’t be looking for others decades later. Everyone is trapped) Without survival pressure, Wilbee is a lot more chill guy and lets the more silly overdramatic sections of his personality out. Doesn’t understand the concept of privacy in the slightest and loves listening to all the town gossip. Wilbur also has far better control on his anomalous instincts than Tubbo, and so I figure avoids the changeling impulse to add people to the Hive and thus never really figures out that section of his powers. Rhodes likely isn’t Collected, which will make the morally gray areas in the Foundation easier. (Ending 5: No missing person’s case opens for Rhodes. Wilbee isn’t captured by the Foundation. Everyone else is trapped) Potentially Wilbee has the same impulse to search the world like Tubbo, and is captured later.
Philzand would literally not die to Lawrence Lethe. Rip to Sandboo but he’s built different. Potentially Lawrence could be dead? That would have ramifications.
Part 1: Conviction: Ranburn does NOT pull off the yandere dad thing at all. Hallway never happens, and The Dagger wouldn’t have a complex about not escaping even if it did. And Tommy wouldn’t lose the will to fight because as Tommurder he always wins which reinforces that he should keep going. But Ranburn also wouldn’t have the same level of therapy during visits that the Collected relied on to survive the Foundation, so in some ways they’re a lot worse off than with Philza’s support.
The Blade and Tommy have the most similar personalities, and could easily fulfil the same actions albeit with different intentions. Perhaps at capture The Dagger is fighting instead of freezing, but he’s kidnapped either way. Tommurder does anything for his friends and gives into The Blood God to rescue The Dagger, which he still wouldn’t tell because he doesn’t want to be abandoned by The Dagger. And Tommurder’s difficulties with being alone lead to him breaking out a lot and getting The Blade tortured more. Tommurder’s worse at controlling The Blood God, but they’re also on friendlier terms since Tommurder just needs anyone to talk to, and so over the loneliness of the Foundation they probably develop a good relationship. The Dagger is very willing to use Red to attack given it’s his choice, and has good control since he’s analytical and willful and can figure out how to actually wield it effectively, unlike Tommy. Also not as reluctant about gallows duty like Tommy, which means less harm to him than Tommy suffered initially. The gloves never become a thing.
The Dagger is still chill and happy enough, which draws Wilbee in, who has no qualms about the murder jokes since Wilbee only avoids personally killing. The Dagger is more than willing to escape into the vents and try to team up with Wilbee. But when told to starve or kill, Wilbee murders Rosalind to same himself. (Ending 6: They do not escape with Rosalind) (Ending 7: on the very rare chance Wilbee thinks his survival odds go up if he chooses to starve and lose a hand to keep Rosalind alive -which. God there isn’t a chance in hell it does- then Lawrence Lethe has been killed by Philzand and will not prevent their breach. The Dagger and Wilbee escape. Ranburn, Tommurder, and Tubbur are still trapped)
The Dagger is used to being turned on and perceived as a monster through Red tests, but Wilbee is far more pragmatic about that. “If you had to be a monster to survive, then you’ll have survived. If those ‘friends’ of yours wanted you to be a person like them they would have ensured you were never in a position to be forced to make that choice in the first place.”
Ergo, The Dagger has far more trust that Ranburn wouldn’t forsake their promise to him. Perhaps misplaced, Ranburn doesn’t have Philza’s strength of convictions, but Techno also chooses to keep trusting people long past when he should, so it works out either way. UnCollected arc avoided. Yippee.
Also The Dagger has wayyy healthier relationships to other people than Tommy does, so when his mini escapes are found out, he doesn’t consider never seeing Wilbee a fate worse than death. (Ending 8: Tommurder is not summoned, no one escapes. The Dagger doesn’t stop trying to break out to see Wilbee, but eventually enough security keeps the both of them separated.) (Ending 9: Tommurder is summoned. Since Jasmine isn’t in the Hive, the orphan loophole isn’t a problem! So Wilbee is safe. Except Tommurder doesn’t have enough control on The Blood God for loopholes to matter because there are barely rules in the first place. Everyone in the room except The Dagger is slaughtered. Having a good relationship with The Blood God only helps if Tommurder knows who to stop him from killing. Wilbee fights back but does not survive, or does on a very very small population incapable of moving its body.) (Ending 10: They try to escape. Lawrence was killed by Philzand, they are trapped in a safe room and fail to escape) (Escape 11: If Lawrence is alive, Rosalind is not in the Hive, so Lawrence is not convinced to help them. He’s probably killed by The Dagger. Fail to escape). (Ending 12: The Dagger is non-compliant in the Dr. Blake confrontation. Guards are kept in the room, and he is overpowered. The Dagger does not escape, but everyone else does). Also Dr. Blake will continue to cause so many problems in the following sections since The Dagger wouldn’t deal with her like Tommy did. Tommy win for once pog??
Part 2: Acquittal: At this point I have no idea how they’re out or how Wilbee survived, though he’s probably trying to figure out a way to kill Tommurder without getting slaughtered because he sees him as a direct threat to survival. (Ending 13: Wilbee realizes that The Blood God operates on an individual basis. According to a news article a swarm of bees can kill a half ton boar slowly and painfully. Tommurder’s death is very very ugly)
(Ending 14: Ranburn goes through Amnestic Arc. Wilbee would like to help (doesn’t have neg rep from Hallway and UnCollection) but thinks it’s too risky and isn’t invested in helping a guy it doesn’t know even for The Dagger’s sake. Doesn’t care about The Dagger promising he’d help. Ranburn, Charlie, Halo, and Skeppy are trapped in the foundation) (Ending 15: Ranburn does receive help from Wilbee. Ranburn is not vicious enough to claw their way through the entire Foundation. The 4 are trapped) (Ending 16: Ranburn is desperate enough to carve their way through the Foundation. Lawrence was killed by Philzand and can’t get Halo and Skeppy free. Ranburn and Charlie get out). Ranburn is NOT staying in the Foundation. Are you KIDDING?! Which could potentially negate the siege arc, though Ranburn is sentimental enough to want to take back that domestic bliss he had with Tubbur even if the house is surrounded on all sides. It would not be Rosalind’s house though.
(Ending 17: if Ranburn held up w amnestics, Tubbur is completely against use of the void, no Greg arc (sadg). The Dagger could manage to hold off for a while but it’s likely the Red infected would murder everyone but him. Dead or recaptured) (Ending 18: Ranburn shows up to Rosalind house, not vicious enough to drive off the Foundation siege). The Dagger and Tommurder could potentially go fairly far, since they have complimentary powers. It’s genuinely pretty scary what they can do. Foundation is driven off, and the gang races off…in a random direction. Rosalind isn’t part of the Hive, so they aren’t going to Chicago. (Ending 19: Wilbee is not ride or die for The Dagger, figures they can manage better without everyone because more confident in self-sufficiency than Tubbo. Like. Nobody does it like clingy duo.)
Greg problems avoided because Tubbur is vigilant. Loose a very cool scene, but it’s fine. If we assume Wilbee survived with amputations, he would fall into the same pitfall as Tubbo given his avoidant coping style. So it’s ending up with chronic pain too. Isn’t terrified of Ranburn and is the practical sort so may spring for the corrective surgery unlike Tubbo. Not sure how well it would go, Ranburn doesn’t have the same hyper-competent tendencies Philza does.
Past what’s published I see absolutely no way for the plot to continue in any semblance of what it’s like now, plus spoilers. It becomes heavily reliant on a complex weave of character flaws and relationship dynamics that just. Aren’t present.
Some bullet points of things that change:
Tubbos’ morals and issues with the group are a driving force of tension, and is heavily influenced by their backstory. While peaceful, Wilbee simply isn’t so adamant on enforcing it on others, and Tubbur scraped by their entire childhood alone and so doesn’t have that same strict no kill policy though they try to be more peaceful. And Ranburn isn’t super bloodthirsty, The Dagger sees attacking as very useful but also knows his powerset could lead to collateral damage, and Tommurder prefers friends to fighting and has convinced The Blood God to go along to some extent. So like…toss out most of the philosophical discussions I guess…and drama. So the Tubbo-Wilbur swap has caused the most problems over all. I think the same would’ve been true for anyone swapped in for Tubbo tho, since they’re designed to be opposed to most of the group.
No Glove arc. Glad we could avoid making Tommurder and The Dagger a more toxic friendship? Because Tommurder would deffo enable self destructive behavior but The Dagger doesn’t have that trigger and wouldn’t try to brute force his own trauma like that. Ignore it and pretend everything is fine? Hella, but that’s also a Tommy trait. Also no minor fallout with The Dagger and Tubbur over accidental triggering, which also avoids bonding and fight scene. The Dagger is just cribbing stuff no problem.
Tommurder actually talks to The Blood God and can avoid The Blade’s panic, doubling down, and character growth. But also Tommurder could potentially just have Wilbee and The Blood God actually talk to one another to directly address that trauma.
None of the continuing fallout of UnCollection arc. So the Hallway is never confronted but also never happened so idk.
Rosalind isn’t in Hive so they never go to the Parra-Cardozo household. Amnestics arc 2 never happens, no one tries to save Philzand. And anyway Lawrence is dead no redemption arc for him loser. Niki still trapped.
All of the interpersonal drama tbh
Man I’m just scrolling through my outline and it all falls apart. The further it goes on the more dependent it is on the past choices of characters and how they would act, and so much of the story is derived from relationship rifts that are dependent on philosophies and traumas that simply aren’t the same anymore. And section 3 just won’t occur at all because the sequence of events leading to the group making the decision to begin fighting the Foundation on both soft and hard power levels doesn’t have the context or the character philosophies to occur the way it will in Fault, and so that entire section just wouldn’t occur (stuff like void madness, two major villains, meeting Niki, everyone having negative character development, so so so much). Who knew a plot devised from thinking through how specific characters respond to situations would fall apart when those are different characters!
Anyway this ask was a blast, thanks so much.

MIRACLE AND PLAGUE -- ALL LINEUPS + DESIGN NOTES
Good luck to anyone reading this, I spent good 1.5 hour on writing this out instead of studing LMAO
Tumblr media
JIAYI DUPAIN-CHENG -- WONDERBUG
- She designed the jacket herself. There's a clover logo on the back with a hidden signature.
- One of the bracelets (the ribbon one) is a matching gift from Alya. She has a similar one.
- The red fade is a side-effect of the Wonder
- In her hero form, her irises or pupils aren't visible
- The symbol on her belt is the chinese symbol of luck
- She has two yoyos in the pockets on her sides - one is a spare one
- Her capette is supposed to resemble Tikki's "wings"
- She has small metal guards on the top of her hands/gloves
- The anthennas are tied into her hair
ADRIEN AGRESTE -- CHAT NOIR
- His hair fade is dark brown. I chose a softer shade because black-black did not look nice
- Adrien is wearing clothes from his father's brand. It's most evident because of the butterfly logo on the front of the sweater
- Cat ears and tail real
- The tail has a little ball on the very end. It's in order to imitate Plagg's tail and It gives some personality to the design.
- He has three sticks attached to his belt
- The whiskers are barely visible but they're there!
GABRIEL AGRESTE -- MONARCH
- He's wearing darker clothes to reflect on his gloomy personality and in order not to stand out as he's trying to avoid attention outside of his home
- The coat was designed himself - similarly to Jiayi's jacket that she designer on her own
- His hair color is light purple and most of the time comes off as silver which is definitely to his advantage
- The hero form has little antennas that usually bend along his hair
- Transformation is definitely more combat-based despite the power being suiter for long-distance
- The back material resemble butterfly wings and allow him to fall slower If needed
- The additional set of eyes serve a purpose of supporting his eyesight as glasses don't appear in his hero form
ALYA CESAIRE -- RENA ROGUE
- The ribbon on her wrist is matching with Jiayi
- She wears a beret sometimes
- The shirt is a reference to a video game character she's a fan of
- The sleeves of the jacket are made out of leather
- The mask resembles a fox with spiky parts under her eyes. It also has a white part running down from her forehead
- The brown shoulder parts are actually short fur. So are the side cuts on the pants, they're also fluffy
- While the tail takes a form very similar to the Wonder itself, it still functions as a regular tail
- Her ears are very pointy and long
- Mismatched socks
CHLOE BOUGREOIS -- QUEEN BEE
- She technically shouldn't be walking around with open shoulders, but she uses her father's influence to avoid following the dress code.
- The scrunchie she's wearing to make her bun has little strings that are meant to look a little like antennas
- All three of her designs have yellow-dark stripes, in hero form's case It's yellow-red.
- In her second design, she's wearing Wonderbug merch
- She has little fluffy cuffs on her wrists that are similar to Pollen's fluff
- Her boots are meant to look very similar to Pollen's legs, even with the weird "extension" at the back
- The "wings" have little hanging jewlers at the endings, making them look more decorative than functional yet It continues to serve a similar purpose to Monarch's wings
- The anthennas are a bit thicker at the end in comparison to Monarch's
NINO
- I don't have much about Nino yet, I still need to design his hero form
- I gave him a little braid on the side with colorful marbles at the very end
- He always gave me the skaterboy vibe so I went along with it and gave him knee guards (mismatched like Alya's socks :p)
- Ripped sleeve from an old fall
- Big headphones replaced with earbuds and a red hat to add more red
SABRINA RAINCOMPLIX
- Her first design is very similar to her original
- She's wearing a semi-formal attire with elements from the school's uniform
- Her second design is very opposite to Chloe's usual style/style that she chose to hold on to while in Chloe's presence
- It's a mix of everything, but motifs like mushrooms, suns, space. There's also a ton of accessories (like bracelets and moon-themed jewlery on the glasses) and things that let her personalize everything a bit more like patches on the pants.
- She's wearing a headband with a blue flower
Tumblr media
JULEKA COUFFAINE
- I gave her a slight tweak to the outfit, but nothing very big so I'll pass on design notes
- She's wearing a matching necklace with Rose
LILA ROSSI
- Lila's hair is braided into a long braid with front hair being stylized after fox's tails
- She's seen wearing parts of her school's uniform - most notably the red jacket
- Her eyes are green with yellow tints at the lower part
- Volpina's form might not look that far off, but there's a few very important parts to mention
- As Monarch's power isn't strong enough to actually make a form fully resembling a fox holder, Volpina looks more like a Jackal. Jackals from afar are generally similar to a fox with the exception of longer ears and muted colors. Her flatter tail, ears are supposed to look like that
- The shorts are simliar to the ones from the canon design
LUKA COUFFAINE
- Luka's style was revamped completely, giving him a more individual, indie-rock kind of style.
- The ripped jeans are matching with his sister :D
- He's got snake bites now
- I left the blue jacket from the canon, just making it bigger and worn only for colder weather
- Luka has freckles on his shoulders
NATHANIEL KURTZBERG
- A bunch of changes made but I don't have too much notes about it
- He usually has his hair down whereas it looks very similar to canon, but occassionally the hair is tied up
MARC ANCIEL
- Half-star on the shoes
- Two chains pinned to the shorts: one is a regular chain, second is the thin, longer one
- Colors present on the T-shirt: purple, magenta, pink, yellow-y, muddy green + the star
ALIX KUBDEL -- BUNNIX
- Her hair is a little shorter than in canon
- The hoodie is cropped while the shirt underneath is just plain
- Fingerless gloves that also act as hand guards for rollerblading are often seen
- She has a scar under her right knee
- Unlike the usual fade, Bunnix has a light/blue strike in her hair
- That round, fluffy, cloud-like motif is present along the entire hero form
- The mask has three freckles on each side
NATALIE SANCOEUR
- A Gabriel-brand broch
Tumblr media
TIKKI
Dark shade fading from her lower limbs
Four arms
Little wings on the back - she can fly without them anyway
Long "eyelashes"
PLAGG
Much more fluffier
The tail has this off spiky part at the very end
Long long whiskers
NOOROO
Fluff at the chest and the ends of lower limbs
Similar fade as tikki, but a lighter shade instead
Also long "eyelashes"
TRIXX
Fluffy
POLLEN
4 Anthennas
Thin limb endings unlike other insect-like Kwamis
The wings are very thin
Points of bending (limbs) are bend backwards (see lower limbs)
DUUSU
Bird-like legs
Pattern on the tail are actually additional eyes
The chest is made out of colorful, small feathers
WAYZZ
Hard to touch
Shell on the back is brown with green moss-like spots
TUZIN (RABBIT WONDER)
Cloud-like theme present
Extremely soft to touch
Ears are deformed, they are naturally stylized and are supposed to look unrealistic
