Hey Miry what are some fun (or maybe angsty) headcanons you have for the boys, including Chain?

Hmmmm 🤔 ok let me think

Sky: I know most people headcanon Warriors as the field medic, but I feel Sky is also versed in first aids and is really good at it, he has excellent bedside manner. Like the knight academy probably taught him all about it, so the 3 medics of the gang are warriors, hyrule and him. I also believe he has an impeccable stitch technique, like barely leaves scars at all. Really dexterous with his hands too, thanks to his wood crafting and harp playing, he's really good with them hands lmao.

Four: he's a blacksmith sure, and knows a lot about making weapons and maintaining them, but I like to believe he's also really good and making stuff out of leather. Like he knows how to make leather belts and pouches for the weapons his grandpa makes or leather clothes as protection in battle. Idk just a very crafty little guy that offers the entire deal aka a weapon and the leather belts to carry it, all in one service hehe

Time: I like to believe he lost his eye in a very mundane non heroic way, like maybe he fell off a rowdy horse and landed in the worst way possible or a farm centric accident. He makes up different stories about how he lost it, every time someone asks, he changes it, some stories are batshit insane and some others are super normal. He actually has told the real way he lost the eye in between the fake stories, but no one believes him. He thinks it's hilarious btw.

Twilight: I've mentioned before that I headcanon him to be a very sensitive guy, like small things can make him tear up aka a baby animal absolutely makes him want to start sobbing lmao. I like to believe he gossips and talks a lot with his epona as wolfie, like when you're in wolf form in twilight princess you can talk to animals and epona is so sweet with him when you talk to her, they are soulmates man. The guys do something dumb and he turns into wolfie just to walk to epona like "can u believe those guys??" Epona knows everything tbh like he tells her everything, she's the only one who truly knows his woes over losing midna.

Wind: I love to believe the little guy can legit control the winds, like the wind waker is a way for him to channel his magic, but he can control the wind unconsciously, too. When he gets really mad, the winds pick up speeds around him, or if he's happy, a gentle breeze circles around him, etc. His hair is always blowing in the breeze even when he's inside doors, and there's no wind. It just does that.

Legend: Excellent gardener, has a talent for growing plants, flowers, and trees. They flourish under his care. Extremely particular about soil and water and shadow/light for his plants, he not only has an apple orchard, but also grows veggies and rare flowers. Ravio maintains his garden under extreme rules and guidelines lmao ravio is not allowed to sell the apples or veggies from legend's garden, but legend encourages rav to use them for cooking instead.

Hyrule: disney princess aka animals love him lmao typical guy who befriends every single creature he meets, he could pacify a bear if he wants to. His fae part is what makes him have such an affinity with nature in general, I see him as the elves from LOTR who can feel and communicate with trees and they guide him. It's why he never uses maps, he doesn't need them.

Wild: using LOTR as my base for headcanons again lol but I see him like aragorn in the sense that aragorn is a human who was raised by elves so he feels a strong connection to elf culture because of it. I picture wild to be the same, but with the zoras, since he was childhood friends with mipha, we can imply he spent A LOT of time in zora's domain as a child. He is way more versed in zora customs, language, holidays, etc, than the hylian ones. It's also why I feel the older zora are so pissed off with him in botw, like they saw him as one of their own for so long, utter betrayal that he didn't protect their princess (mipha) and failed them all lol he has some zora mannerism in the sense that sometimes, he eats fish raw LMAO when he absentmindedly ate one in front of everyone the first time everyone was shocked for a while lmao

Warriors: absolute nervous wreck, always riddled with anxiety, really low self-esteem, is probably screaming 24/7 inside his head at all times, but is EXCEPTIONAL at faking it, like fake it til you make it is his way of life lmao he exudes over confidence and is always worried about his looks as a way to hide how much of a mess he truly is. Time & Wind has seen him at his worst and know that he's a great actor, which helps him cause he can stop pretending around them for a while

Chain: All bark, no bite. He is ironic and sarcastic and shows himself as a tough guy, but he's actually a sweetheart, and things get to him pretty easily. He learned pretty early on than carrying his heart on his sleeve is a really bad idea around the Bounty Hunter guild, since soft nice guys don't last long, so he replies to hurtful comments with sarcasm and a tough attitude, when in reality he's really hurt lmao he also jokes to cope, he'd rather throw a joke or two at you than really open up and talk about his feelings.

BINGO NIGHT

Note: Yes, you read that correctly. It's Bingo night for the guys, and let's just say it's as chaotic as you would expect it to be...

Extra note: everyone plays bingo differently, and it's just for fun don't think too deep about it.

Characters: Alhaitham, Kaveh, Cyno, Tighnari

You can’t tell by his blank facial expression but deep down he enjoys bingo night but he’d rather die than admit it, his pride and ego won’t let him

Complains how he always has to sit next to Kaveh even though he is the one who willingly sits next to him

He looks at Kavehs card to make sure he is always ahead of him

Alhaitham doesn’t like to lose, and I believe he can be VERY PETTY depending on the situation

When it comes to Kaveh, yeah, he will always be petty

One night Alhaitham was losing so when no one was looking, he switched Kavehs card with his and won bingo

Kaveh and Alhaitham had an argument about it for an hour making Cyno and Tighnari leave as soon as it started

Cyno and Alhaitham make bets on just about anything during bingo nights

Those two are so competitive it ruins bingo night half the time

Two on two battles don’t end well because they also end up arguing because they never win against Cyno and Tighnari

Has lost bingo to Kaveh a couple of times and will forever remain SALTY

The one who started bingo night

He pitched the idea the Cyno and Tighnari and they agreed with no hesitation

Getting Alhaitham to agree was the real challenge

Five bingo nights went by before Alhaitham decided to join

Kaveh is the embodiment of the word petty

When he loses, no matter who it is, he will be petty about it

But if it’s Alaitham, oh boy- it goes from 0-100 real quick

Kaveh has cheated before let’s be for real

Brings drinks and snacks for everyone, don’t ask how he got the food since he’s broke

Argues with Tighari and Cyno just lets it happen

Takes bingo WAY TOO SERIOUSLY

Keeps all his bingo cards because he doodles houses and plans on them

Cheater #3

Got caught in the middle of cheating and Cyno went on a rant about how cheating ruins games and the whole nine yards

Petty in disguise

Gets S A L T Y when he loses to Cyno

Doesn’t take bingo seriously but he will take it seriously if there is a big prize

Enjoys bingo nights, especially if there is good food and drinks for the night

Has gone to bingo night after eating some mushrooms and has made it a thing to be high every other bingo night

Tighnari does things to piss off Kaveh and that starts arguments

He Won bingo night about three times and always misplaces his prizes

Rips up his bingo card when he loses in an intense match

He Adores bingo nights, especially after a hard day at work

Avoids sitting next to Alhaitham like the plague

One day Tighnari and Kaveh teamed up in two on two matches forcing Cyno to team up with Alhaitham and OH BOY-

In conclusion, an argument broke out and they threw cards at each other making the other two laugh their asses off

Another one who takes bingo way too seriously

He and Kaveh would have a debate on the rules of the game giving Alhaitham and Tighnari, along with Collei headaches (collei is the number caller person lol)

Got into a drinking battle with Alhaitham during bingo, having about a dozen empty dozen glasses on the table

Both passed out, but Kaveh and Tighnari didn’t care and they took Alhaitham and Cyno’s bingo cards

Won bingo at least eight times

Always leaves bingo nights happy regardless if he wins or loses

Here are thoughts on Ultraman Leo:

I jumped into this series because I saw it was airing on YouTube for its anniversary and thought I could watch it as it airs, because I have an easier time watching stuff like that. I was also, in the middle of picking what series to watch next and watched a bunch of Ultraman and Kamen Rider movies and specials.

So, I watched the first episode and immediately resonated with Gen's character, he's just happy-go-lucky, courageous, and fighting past his trauma. The whole Sports center aspect was fun, and everything was just stuff I enjoyed seeing, so it was really difficult to just catch up with where YouTube had and just watch once a week, lol. So, I kept watching it among of my anime.

This show is like a bunch of different shows as it goes through the season. It starts with the Training Arc, then goes into the Hokkaido Arc, the Ultra Horror Arc, the Japanese Folklore Arc, then is more Ultra Lore, then is the Saucer Creature Arc to finish it.

This show is intense at so many times, in the beginning Gen fights the Kaiju, loses then has to train in some intense or over the top ways by UltraSeven, Dan Moroboshi. Especially the infamous being chased by a Jeep scene, lol.

I was shocked that characters like Tooru and Kaoru were gonna be main characters after their father gets killed in episode 3, thought they were just 1 off kids, like I've seen in other toku shows, but they're main characters, and that helped make the show better when using characters like that for stories.

MAC was probably the worst done defense unit I've seen in Ultraman, because you barely learn about any of these characters besides Dan and Gen, which is all you need actually, lol. Still, they had good support characters like Momoko, the previously mentioned kids, and some of the staff at the Sports Center that Gen worked at too.

It's a very awesome show, the action is great, Gen is one of my all-time favorite Ultras, the action is a lot of fun and there are some crazy episodes. The folklore episodes are intriguing how they merge the stories in with lore of Ultraman Leo. There were quite a few horror episodes that were good, and some disturbing, especially with that clam Saucer creature.

This show is absolutely brutal at times, from the most intense episode of can Ultraman Leo and Astra manage to reforge the Ultra Key and stop the Ultra Planet (as it was called back then) from crashing into the Earth, or the Saucer creature annihilating half the cast.

Ultraman Leo himself did a lot of cool things in battle, like making smoke pipes into Nunchaku, using his mantle, to multiple different techniques he learned in training.

Also, this show has some of the best Kaiju Designs in Ultraman and I love a lot of them here.

I loved Astra, even though he only comes in to help his brother at times, it's still nice; I know he gets way more in recent specials. Still, the little bits we see of him, I enjoyed because he goes out of his way to help out his brother. Would like to have seen him explored more, but the part with the Ultra Key was great with him. Also, Ultraman King is wonderful saving Leo or helping them when they need it, I love his design. Ultraman Jack's episode he returned in was absolutely amazing, one of my favorites of the show, and I want to watch Return of Ultraman now. Love seeing Sevenger too, he's best bot.

I just really loved Ultraman Leo/Gen Ootori a lot, he makes mistakes, but he doesn't let them keep him down and makes up for them. I think that is what I resonated the most with, never let your screw-ups stop you from being a hero. Also, a good support system helps.

One of my favorite Ultraman Series and I definitely recommend it to everyone.

[Director's commentary] Any crumbs you can throw my way about the Oh Death, Where Is Your Sting? series (aka Raise Dead series my absolute beloved) will be much appreciated! Few fics hurt as much and as good as this series does tbh lol <3

yes oh my gosh raise dead my beloved <3 a few fun facts:

the original working title was 'Revivify' because that is a much more common resurrection spell in modern D&D, but Revivify 1) has to be cast immediately after death, so it didnt work for the story and 2) didn't exist in original AD&D, so that's not what they'd be calling it anyway

Dustin talks a little bit about how the spell needs to be cast in a certain amount of time (one day per cleric level) or else it won't work. El obviously doesn't have actual levels as a spellcaster, but I did equate it to her age. She's 14, so they had 14 days to cast the spell or else it wouldn't work. They cut it pretty close. Dustin tells them all his theory 12 days after Robin dies, and they revive her on day 13

there's a lot of Critical Role inspiration in this tbh, to the point that I was tempted to write a Matthew Mercer style resurrection ceremony for Robin. El battling to free Robin from Vecna also took some vague inspiration from Percy and Orthax in the Vox Machina campaign. but by the time I started writing I strayed a bit away from that and turned into a good ol' fashioned demodog/vecna mind battle fight instead because that fit better

part 2 of this series, "what could've been, would've been," was written entirely just so I could write out Robin's happy memory of everyone hanging out by the pool

there is zero actual plot in my notes for the rest of this series, even though i do have a lot of notes and scenes written out. that's part of why i haven't returned to it yet--i don't really know what the deal is with vecna now that he no longer has robin, and tbh that i don't reallyyyy care all that much. but what i do want to explore is the impact that dying and resurrecting has on robin. it's an idea i love to think about in actual D&D--when resurrection is possible, what does that mean for the characters who experience it? how does it affect the natural cycle of life? in the "real world," aka stranger things canon, how does it affect the way el sees herself and her powers? or the way robin views herself and her place in the world? and what kind of impact does it have on her body? her mind? her emotions? her relationships with everyone around her?

there's a part of Robin that worries she's too broken to be loved, after she comes back. the more symptoms she has because of her death, the more she thinks she's not good enough for Nancy

there's also a scene with her and Erica, which tbh is the thing I'm most looking forward to writing in future parts of this series, where she steps between Erica and a demodog and it fucks them both up a little bit, the idea that Robin could die again protecting the people she loves, and the idea that Erica could lose her again because she's protecting her

Nancy develops a habit of feeling Robin's pulse anytime she gets stressed or scared. it gets to the point that Robin will grab Nancy's hand and place it over her heart as a way to calm her down or steady her. Nancy is embarrassed by it for a while, but it is the most effective way to comfort her

I've beat inscryption but kaycees mod is beating my absolute ass! I cannot for the life of me beat it even once!! Give pro strats pls... (also I love your art so so much obviously but I also think it'd be fun to ask you about the game itself if that's ok!!! :,D)

ofc id be happy to talk about the game itself!! dont feel bad about losing to kmod its very hard on purpose because kaycee likes inflicting pain!

first of all, i learned a lot of lifesaving strats/tricks from this little fanmade kmod wiki! it gives pros/cons for each starter deck and goes into detail about how hand manipulation works and stuff, check it out for sure

that said the most important things to do are:

keep a small deck, especially try not to have more than one or two 1-blood cost cards or free cards

have a big damage card that can 1-hit KO leshy on the first turn (5 damage until you get the challenge that starts you off with 1 damage on your side, then this card should do 6 damage)

those rules probably arent as important when youre just starting and the challenges arent too bad, but eventually leshy is gonna pull a bifurcated turkey vulture on his first turn when you turn the heat up down the road so itd be wise to get into the rhythm early. im assuming you only have vanilla deck unlocked, so try buffing the wolf with bifurcated or at a good campfire

you want to keep your deck small so you can reliably pull your win card preferably on the first turn, when you have too much useless crap like pelts or extra 1-blood costs, theyre going to be pulled in your starting hand and you wont be able to do enough damage in time.

its wise to have at least two 1-Hit-KO win cards to prepare for the prospector since he wipes your board after phase one, and having a backup is valuable when you cant trim down your deck enough

try to avoid map nodes that give you cards, and try to aim for map nodes that will take away cards (or otherwise wont give you new ones). use the campfire to try and get rid of cards you dont want, try to fail cave challenges, dont buy pelts from trapper (buy his knife instead if you can), etc. if a campfire doesnt kill your card you can also exit to menu and re-enter the game to have it buff your preferred card instead lol. and if youre forced to pick a cost card, go with 3-blood cost. if youre forced to pick a family card, try to get one that you can fuse with your win card at mycos. again, you can always exit/re-enter start menu to see what your other options are

that said, ive started doing something on my own that i havent seen mentioned anywhere, and its making sure to use an item in battle if backpack is your next node, to prevent yourself from getting packrats from having a full inventory. im sure theres a strat where you can get a bunch of rats to fuse at mycos but it isnt worth it imo

that, and also try to have at least one item that can instantly kill/remove a card from leshy's board before you fight final boss leshy, like the hook, trapper knife, or scissors. ideally you want to kill his moleman so you can use your KO card before he pulls out prospector and wipes your board and things get hairy. there is a guaranteed backpack node before you fight leshy, you can actually exit and re-enter game to make sure you get the item you want if you dont feel bad about it lol (magickal bleach works against the moleman too but you have to unlock this)

getting your KO card is easier once you unlock the Blood deck (its the first you unlock i believe, after 1-2 challenges) cause it gives you a goat and moose! try to buff that moose at least once, maybe give the goat a good sigil like undying, fecundity or hoarder (hoarder can be a lifesaver if your deck is too big, its the sigil magpie has) or otherwise you can sacrifice the mole to the goat at an early sacrifice stone

Hey yall! It’s been a while since I wrote a short head canon list for the mercs and so I decided to write this! I really have been getting into writing actual one shot stories instead of lists so that’s why my posts have been so slow  ^___^ I’m thinking about making a version of this one for the creepy pasta characters to go back to fanfic roots ;-; anyways, g’day! Mwah XOXOXO

Scout:

-Very happy

-“Oh yeah? What’s your favorite one? Really! Mine too!” He takes out your favorite candy in response 

-You both like staying up at 3 am eating random sweets

-The sugar rush hits both of you SOOOOO hard. Running across the fort, double, fuck it, triple jumping all around and screaming violently.

- You both literally laugh at almost every thing the mercs say even if it’s not funny or relevant and both laugh at each other laughing so hard. Your laughs become even wheezier when you both cannot speak and it’s both of you mumbling and laughing and your mumbling.

-Just as much as the rush gets you the crash hits harder than the market crash of 2008. Both of you are literally so tired you guys can’t even get up. Eyes sore, legs weak, body tired, everything hurts after literally sonic speeding everywhere. You both wake up holding each other or spooning <3.

-Instead of a hot steamy cup of coffee in the morning you wake Scout up by sitting on top of him and feeding him lemon heads and sour gummy bears. 

-You like to throw gummies and candies into his mouth during fights just to play around and it helps with a speed boost 

-Although Scout loves candy his favorite is of course: B o n k 

-And you both drink it religiously! At this point you both have it in an IV put up into your veins. 

-Scout and you have so much fun with candy. You both go to candy stores together and have fun picking out candies and sodas. Once you both get home you guys would eat eat eat, lose your mind and sleep for the rest of the night ^___^

Soldier: 

-He doesn’t eat a lot of sweets, but once you give him one he goes a little crazy

These asks speak to me as someone who also has ADHD lol. I hope I do these hc's some justice!

Michael is one of the first people in your life to actually seek to understand your ADHD and help you with it, instead of just getting mad when you exhibit symptoms that make life difficult. It's a total breath of fresh air, and at first, you're a little worried that the other shoe is gonna drop and you're gonna act too neurodivergent for him. Spoiler alert: there's no other shoe

Your emotions are so intense, and Michael often has to remind you to take a couple of breaths and revisit these feelings in a few minutes, rather than letting them take over and ruin your mood. He's almost always right that you'll have a clearer mind after doing that

I tend to get the "zoomies" with my ADHD, where I'm suddenly buzzing and feeling really goofy and like I want to bounce around. Michael finds it fun to join in on the zoomies with you, which usually ends with both of you wrestling on the floor and just acting like a couple of kids

Likes going on walks with you when you're feeling overwhelmed

Always carries a pair of earbuds for you in case you get too overstimulated in public and need to turn music on and tune out your surroundings

(Considering a large part of ADHD is forgetfulness, you're eternally grateful for this because you usually forget to bring earbuds with you)

Has started actually cooking meals so that you can get out of the cycle of forgetting to eat, eating a bunch of random snacks, and forgetting again. Cooking quickly becomes an activity that you do together, and you really enjoy it. When you eat better, you feel better!

Breathes with you whenever you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed

Reminds you to take your meds (he sets up an alarm on your phone because, predictably, you've forgotten to do so)

If he notices you picking at your skin, he'll gently grab your hands to get you to stop

Encourages your hyperfixations and is more than happy to listen as you excitedly explain whatever it is, but also helps to pull you out of that hole so you can eat, sleep, and not burn your eyes staring at a computer or a TV or a video game

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Replay Thoughts + Now Starting Future Connected

-Played through and beat the game again, not new game plus either, from the ground up. Yes I'm nuts for doing this a few weeks after the first time.

-99.9% completion this time though! Full affinity chart (I'm talking FULL, like establishing every link I could possibly get with regards to my choices, even ones that don't come from quests), full party affinity, all heart-to-hearts, all available quests, complete collectopedia, defeated every unique monster including Final Marcus, all locations/landmarks, all hidden treasure chests, maxed out all 5 skill trees for the entire party. The only thing I didn't do is beat the superbosses other than Final Marcus, since...

-I still don't care for enemy level affecting accuracy. Not hitting anything and losing tension which leads to hitting less things is such a shitty feeling. I didn't feel up to making gems to counter the other superbosses cuz I just... didn't care enough to endure those battles lol.

-That said, I enjoyed the actual fighting a lot more on my second playthrough, mostly because I tried new stuff. I played around with other arts I usually don't use, especially with Reyn (War Swing my new beloved) and Dunban (Heat Haze + Soaring Tempest makes my Monado become the big Monado :3). Similarly, I used more medium and heavy armor and unique items instead of just exclusively light equips with empty slots. There's a lot of fun weapons that I just didn't bother using before and I'm happy that I did this time. Because I had more fun with the combat (and also decided to use the EXP and AP gems lol) I was able to do every quest and beat all those unique monsters without that much grinding tbh.

-That said, spikes are still the worst thing in the world, I'll never change my opinion on that. And the close second is still the NPC hunting.

-Doing more of the stuff that DE introduced really elevated my experience as well. Using expert mode at specific intervals instead of just hoarding it all until after Mechonis Core is really the way to go. Also, every time I saw the time trials warp in a new location, I did the new trials since usually that means there's more added. While the last time I played DE, I quit the colony 6 hunting at the very end by doing trials I was feeling bad about it cuz it felt grindy and exhausting. This time around, I treated it as another quest to do in between story beats, and by the time I got to the endgame, I had enough Noponstones to get the annoying materials out of the way. So using the new features really helped me. Again though, I wish they went the extra mile and just let reconstruction materials be trackable.

-Nothing changed regarding my likes of the characters, whatsoever. It's still a great cast. The only thing I keep getting hung up on is why the scene at the end of the game where Alvis shows Shulk what happened that created their world wasn't a bit updated to be more in line with how XC2 revealed it. I'm not talking line changes or even the saviorite attacks, but moreso the space facility not looking like the beanstalk. Seeing the old version of the orbiting station is strange nowadays lol. But it's just a nitpick.

-Overall, better the second time around, glad I did it. Now, time to actually start Future Connected, and see the big new stuff.

Here it is! Some splatfest-screenshots and my overall thoughts!

(warning, I might sound a little cranky at the start, but ofc I'm grateful for the results and had otherwise lots of fun!)

I didn't fight much, the first day atleast, since I was at a convention. I wore a little "Go Team Keyboard"-Sign around me 24/7 tho :D even ran into another Splatoon-Cosplayer! (Had a closet cos of agent 8)

I'm not sure if the complaints are still getting to me, but the amount of times I've lost to spawncamping made the first and ¼ of the second half... Not that much enjoyable. I got pretty heated, to be fair, but it's honestly just a silly squid game, so it's not that deep. I'm tbh a little embarrassed :'] Especially when you lose 3 out of all the 5 10x battles they gave you. It's just not fun to run out of your spawn and get instantly downed again, but it's not something I'd blame a specific team on. (And you shouldn't aswell!) I got friends on both Drums and Guitar (I was almost alone on keyboard :')), so GG to them ofc! Sorry if I got a little toxic in the first half :( (But just saying - having this kind of battle experience, then miraculously winning, only to come online to get insults thrown at your face because youre so "toxic" and "tryharding"... Less fun. But more on that below.)

Alright, enough with the negatives! Let's focus on the stuff I actually liked!

Walking around the plaza, as always, was very fun! I love almost all of the first half songs so much :'D (with the exception of City of Color, which I don't hate, but I love Tomorrows Nostalgia Today too much lmao). I honestly wish I could put more than one video in here.

In the first half I played as my side order octoling "Reed". Need a bit more lore on him. I had a few ideas but wasn't sure on going through with it. Second half however...

I decided to cosplay as sury! It indeed made things a little more fun, although I had to choose Mel's weapon instead because I couldn't deal with the slow, large splatana :'D

Usually I make OCs out of my Splatfest-Teams, but using preexisting characters is even more fun! Let's see if I can use Mel in the future too :D

I don't have the oth amiibos

It was at the second half, but I did manage to win some 10xs in the end :] (Which means I've officially heard all three singular idol win themes in-game)

To come back to the results-thing, I expected everyone to be bitter as usual, but everyone was... strangely nice and happy for the win. At first I was kind of annoyed, but if it continues like this, I feel Splatfests might actually get excited for everyone again. (I was actually pretty optimistic and fine with every decision so far, but it's even better if I can actually agree with the fandom lol)

Again, good job to Team Drums and Guitar! And Overall, good job team! Excited for the next splatfest :D 🩷💚💜

Engage Ch 1 - 5/6 Thoughts

Everything about early Engage stuff under the cut.

I'm playing hard/classic, F!Alear this time around.

Very classic Fire Emblem. We've got divine dragons, MC's who lost their memory, corrupted corpses, it's all here folks!

Glad it's a mom and not a dad. It's always a dad. Though we all know mom's not living to the end. Later on, we get a second mom too. I'm so happy about this.

Also love how Alear wanted to run away from the enemies and not fight recklessly. Like that bit of development a lot. Though the poor two kids got to pick up the stupid stick instead.

Love that Marth is the Emblem of Beginnings too. It makes my Fire Emblem loving heart so happy.

All the self-insert worship will also make total since because they're literally a dragon god/goddess.

This storyline is really basic, but it was advertised that way, so I expected it and I'm totally fine with it. I imagine 3H newbies are a bit surprised though.

I also find it funny that Alear and her mom are literally Rhea, an immortal dragon ruling everyone. It'll be funny as hell seeing Edelgard in this world lamo.

I like the evil!Alear look lol. Her hair was all red. It's made me wonder if the blue/red hair isn't a throw-back to the standard FE lord hair colors and more to the traditional "blue = good" and "red=bad" so the "red" is her evil side. Esp since her mom has only blue hair, so like her mom never fell like Alear did once.

I also love Alfred so far. At one point he promises to be your sword and shield. And flower. Which, just got me thinking of a Knight's Tale where they argue if a lance or flower is better. But, like, Alfred's both, bitches.

Mom died a LOT sooner than I expected.

Alfred is precious, and his mom is hot. I love that he comes from the flower and peace kingdom too. Dimitri would thrive there.

I like the little homebase place. It's pretty and fun to run around. I want to collect all the animals too.

The little dog/cat thing is also adorable.

I'm falling hook, line, and sinker for the ring thing. Like, I get soooo excited every time I get a new one because it's another classic FE character. Even if it's one I get no special feelings towards, I still get so hyped because these are the faces of the franchise and main characters of my favorite games, some of which I've poured countless hours into. It's so fun.

Arena works pretty cool in this game. You pick a character and they face another of your units at random. I think they also might lose exp if they lose? Not sure, it was early and I was tired lol. But it'll be interesting to see who thrives in it, because you don't get gold, just exp (and unlock a support if they win), so no "send Seth in, get rich" schemes, lamo. It's also limited to 3 times inbetween battles, which is nice.

So... there's a slight hole in my heart now that I've finished my Zoids: New Century Zero rewatch.

Man, it was so much fun! Overall, the pacing was excellent — but being the big tournament fan that I am, I definitely would've welcomed more episodes being dedicated to the Royal Cup. I was a bit baffled that it all got wrapped up in just three eps... it would have been a great opportunity to introduce another solid team rather than focusing purely on the four rivals we saw (the Lightning Team, the Champ Team, Naomi's team and the Fuzzy Pandas Zaber Fangs). However, to dedicate another ep to the Royal Cup, we would have had to drop a filler and the only real contender I can think of is the Sebastian-has-a-crush episode. I would be slightly reluctant to drop it since it gave us some sweet moments where Bit helped out Harry and the gang so it was sorta cute in its own way.

Still, some of the Backdraft's motivations were a bit whacky and needed more exploration. There doesn't seem to be much correlation between shooting down the judges' satellites and taking over the Zoid Battles Commission. And Altile being ready to kill a 10-year-old in order to undermine a colleague was definitely a theme that could've used some expansion! Nevertheless, the tension was effectively built up all the way through and seeing Bit win the final battle with the original Liger Zero was lovely.

Though the poor Panzer unit only got two outings!!

It was bizarre/incredible to hear so many people from the Gundam Wing dub! Picking up on Duo's voice was definitely a bit of a shock, lol. And man, all the DBZ voices... we always had a huge laugh in our household about Harry and the Great Saiyaman having a voice actor in common.

WHAT? He voiced Stoeller too?!? Oh wow oh wow —

I think the women in Zoids were all great: Leena was obnoxious, brash, loud and trigger happy (big heart emoji); Naomi was cool, calm and collected; Mary Champ was materialistic, refined and caring; the Tasker sisters had incredible battling skills (though very little development, sadly); Pierce was cool; Fuma was super cool and Sarah was ambitious and motherly. I loved that they all had very different roles and character motivations. And man, even the comic relief ladies were sweet — like the poor Royal Cup reporter and the woman in the parts shop who was rightfully terrified when Bit couldn't find the order form, lol. They all had autonomy and a part to play... and they all had a very deep appreciation for Zoids.

(Some sports anime could take note.)

And, once again, there's a tenuous link between a series I love and Sengoku BASARA. I came to know of Fuuma Kotarou through Basara — and, given that the Fuma team were super stealthy and could suddenly appear like ninja when Altile summoned them, I'm assuming the leader, Fuma, was based on the historical figure. So that was fun!

I'm wondering if what I watched was the HD version, after all? The episodes included scenes that hadn't made it to the dub — there were only about 4 or 5 in total, and with the exception of the scene where Laon was in a bar and then approached by the Backdraft Group, the cut scenes didn't really add anything.

It's a shame that Zoids: New Century Zero didn't get a second season because wow, I definitely could spend more time with these wonderful characters. At the same time, the whole series was incredibly satisfying to watch, so I'm not too torn up, I suppose.

But scenes I'd like to see!

- Bit taking a break, as promised, and returning in Episode 3 or 4 to save the day and join the series properly

- Top-notch warriors in S Class; the Blitz Team losing a few battles

- A new armour for the Liger Zero

- More exploration of Organoid systems

- Definitely some more stuff with Vega, Stoeller and the other cool folk from the series... I think the Lightning Team would make it to S Class, but I'm not sure about Naomi

- More battles being won by Leena, Brad or Jamie — one thing that disappointed me in Zoids a little was that Bit was the deciding factor for too many battles

- A short tournament for Brad and Naomi to participate in, since they made that promise?

- Absolutely no change to Steve Toros; I LOVE HIM

- Please... cool new Zoids...

- Something cool to replace the Backdraft Group... or maybe Toros goes on a wild hunt to find another Ultimate X (in which case, we'd need a new character to pilot it).

Not middle eastern but live in a non western country where despite some progress is still VERY conservative on a lot of matters. hii hi art!! i just finished reading the newest drabble bc i tried really hard to save it until i’m back in my own bedroom after yoongi’s singapore concert!! 🥰

and yes, of course it’s everything and more than i hoped for it to be :( it was so sad but also so beautiful at the same time. i loved that you showcased how real the emotions from the event that transpired was & that old wounds that havent been tended properly tends to resurface. a couple of things that really stuck with me:

1. both in this and the prev drabble (of the breakup), oc has a lot of inner monologue about how she didnt feel like she is enough and jk’s ability to throw her & their relationship away so easily. but i really liked how in this new story, even though she still thinks about it, she doesnt bring it up anymore bc they’ve talked about it. oftentimes in relationships we tend to overcomplicate and keep bringing up past mistakes that hinders us from moving forward. i love that this is a whole new concern that she has & jk beautifully manages to calm and reassure her.

2. oc is an angel truly bc when i read this all i want is to scream at jk’s face: “PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES!!!” i really dont think he can handle: 1. being broken up with after he went home from a TOUR 2. oc giving up on him 3. oc going on a date with someone else 4. everyone else basically being happy that oc is finally not with him

homeboy wouldve lost his mind truly!! oc is a gem i aspire to be her

3. it is so interesting to look at prev drabbles where oc is so careful about not asking anything from jk and never letting him over spoil her (and we’ve seen more cases where she is the one spoiling him!) and to see where it actually stems from. i predicted that the power imbalance of jk’s black card can be intimidating but i didnt think that it’s this deep 🥺🥺 poor oc…. i hope in future drabbles we can see her getting more comfortable in taking what is hers (jk!! so jealous💀) but also, his money. bc that boy has too much of it and i bet he would’ve LOVED to spend it all on her….. jk spoiling oc rotten drabble!!!! 🛍️🛍️🛍️

after the quest, i smugly ran straight for where capote and lamina used to stand around and found capote in one of those coffee rooms

to my surprise, he was very humbled by the experience?! i’m glad that he’s reflecting on himself! usually i kinda feel bad for my choice in these side quests, but i like this ending! 👍
