Hi!!! I absolutely love your music!!! If you don’t mind me asking, who are you musical inspirations?
I don't mind at all!! ❤️
Hmm..I feel like I give the same answers a lot, so imma switch it up a little!
I really am a HUGE fan of Caroline Polachek! When her last album came out 2 years ago in February, I already knew it would be my album of the yearrrrrr she's so gooooood
I also LOVEEEEE Rina Sawayama! I love all her projects, her EP changed my life thoughhhh I think I could sing every song on it word for word!
And then finally, I loveeee KELELA!!!! I am pretty sure I did a school project on her lowkey! But particularly the production style around her and her lyricism really drew me in
there we go I switched it up a little bit haha

28/03/24 - suho
I think it's going to be really fun 😂 Please look forward to it No matter what you imagine, it'll be more than that Don't be too surprised
Isn't the name SU:HOME incredible? (cutely) And it’s also like ([ENG]Suho me) Suho, me! (cutely) ㅋㅋㅋAddicted to the ambiguous meaning of it Remembering the EXO debut showcase 🥲 Every album release feels like a debut
Every time feels like peeling onion skin🧐 Feels [ENG] so gooooood!!!!!! Don’t get smaller??? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 🧅 Like a Byeolnan Bar At the end, the candy core was the most delicious
Tumblr media
Then blowing the straw afterㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I’m going to go all over the world eries, just wait (cutely)

Aaaa, noooo -
Also that plush it's so cute, regardless of whether it's getting stir-fryed or not
I don't have a lot of merch, but I did buy his Valentine's Day card this year and I got the Best-of album, which also meant I had to hurry and get Feower and Seox to complete the boy band. I put the skins in my homescreen rotation and Seofon especially just loves jumpscaring me with his idol skin
Right, before I forget, tell Seofon hi the next time you're seeing him in battle! I'm working on my rank too, so one day he gets to beat me up by himself, but today is not that day
Lastly, what's your favorite official art of him? I think I really hurried to get him transcended because that art of him just looks really cool and the battle sprite is gorgeous as well and the CA animation is so cool and the little two finger salute he does on the victory screen is so cute. I'm glad they started using that Transcendence art for dialogues in HotS because it's genuinely so gooooood
I also really like his Relink arts, they're seriously so gorgeous, it's not faiiir -
So, yeah
Thanks again!
ahhh Yes. we're in this together. uplifting. motivation. etc etc... you now have me as a supporter!!!!! ;3c mwhahaha!
it is, isn't it? it's so dear to me!!!! i actually own the fullset of mochi kororin eternals! and a lot of other merch... >w< actually let me just throw this at you.

no room for my vday cards sadly Whoops, but i LOVE them so much. pieces of paper that make me want to experience life and death at the same time... do not get me started....... this year's were so special. <3
i will indeed say hello for you!!!! ^__^ ~*
and ah. AH. hitting me with a really tough question... i will say that part of the reason i transcended him is because his 6* art is such a step up (so same hat!). IT SOUNDS MEAN, BUT HIS OLDER SPRITES DID NOT AGE WELL...... SOBS. i think they were still figuring out how to draw his hair which. as an artist. i understand. it took me a while too.
Anyway... i REALLY Do love his relink art...
Tumblr media
(i ripped this from the game hehe...) he just looks so handsome?! so cute?! something about this is so perfect i just can't explain it!! i freaked out when i first saw it and had a blurry low res version as my icon for some time...
but also. Nose. Nose. Nose. :] it makes me happy seeing him with A Nose... ⬇
Tumblr media
(the colours in this one are also just so gorgeous like Wow. Okay)
Tumblr media
Umm this one too. he is so happy cat here. serval....... :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some more i appreciate more than words can describe,,,,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
moe factor here.... Moefon real...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
any art of seofon with kirakira eyes makes me smile so much as well.
Um. Wow. That's a lot of art huh. I'm not good at narrowing it down.
Just kidding. It's this one.
Tumblr media
from shadowverse. Yeah. i justttt think it has a perfect mix of smug, sea of stars motifs, sword avatars, colours, etc... i love the pose too. Gwa. :]

what’s your favorite song from Brat? :O
360 has grown on me a LOT, club classics has also grown on me a LOT in the context of the album, synpathy is a knife is AMAZING, i might say something stupid is an incredibly NECESSARY and heartbreaking short interlude, talk talk is amazing, maybe the hit of the album, von dutch still hits as hard as it did a month ago honestly.. everything is romantic is CRAZY but not my fav atm, i know it's a grower. rewind i loved at first listen but i'm unsure if it's sticky enough for me. so i is heartbreaking i cant just put this in any playlist.. girl, so confusing i LOVE . i think the parts where she's just talking (which happens often in this album) slow down the song(s) a little but it's ok. apple i havent had a bunch of time with yet? maybe i need to listen more. b2b IS SO GOOOOOOD.. mean girls is SOOOOOO GOOOOOD. I think about it all the time is kinda funny probably my skip of the album . 365 is amazing. anyway i dont know

Love for the unknown is what brought me up here Where air is so thin that we can barely breathe But better not look down... But this time you went too far
Hell, this was gooooood! Literally the best way to start my morning. I mean, the premise was very interesting but I also thought it a little too dramatic. Now I may start to think it was deserved after all...
To put it simple, the whole album was inspired by a mountain climbing accident that occurred to the main composer/lyricist - frontman Francesco Paoli, in 2021. What I didn't expect is how nice the execution would be - there's a great balance between more relatable stuff (the arrogant idea that "nothing bad would ever happen to me" in I Can Never Die) and the overly-dramatic parts that are as if straight out of an opera (Matricide 8.21). Not to mention the signature careful mix of orchestra and metal. I'm impressed and definitely contemplating getting the CD once the local shop has it.
I don't know if any of my Tumblr friends likes symphonic death metal, but I wanted to get that out of my system and recommend this album - hey, it can be a gateway into the genre! :D Seriously, it's a nicely fleshed out record with curious lyrics, if nothing else.
Specific song recs: Morphine Waltz, At War With My Soul, Pendulum, I Can Never Die - also if you have time, you want to consider looking into the lyrics, too, in my opinion :)

god im STILL buzzing over how good chronologic is, i remember that being dropped and teased like it was yesterday. they did so good i had no idea what to expect with the next album but i looove the direction theyve gone with staying, uh, somehow modern? while also mixing in some of those 20s-50s sounds, even some 70s!
some of the choir sounds remind me so much of groups like the four freshmen and those magnificent big bands, but then mirrors and city cook give some oldies and modern sounds with like a funky groove youd hear out of earth wind and fire??? im losing my mind over here its so gooooood, all these sounds coming together to make something totally unique but COHESIVE!!!! i cant believe how well it all melts together

I READ a lot of different manga recently and i WANNA talk about em :)
SO LIKE i ADORE stories about the entertainment industry like music actors celebrity whatever i LOVE IT so oshi no ko had been on my to-read list for like a bajillion years now BUT queen bee doing the ending song for the anime (MEPHISTO!!!! LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!!! ITS SO GOOOOOOD!!!! LISTEN TO EVERY QUEEN BEE ALBUM RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! the opening is good too) finally pushed me to read it (not watch it sorry... normally the anison industry has this symbiotic relationship between the songs and the shows where the show makes people get interested in the musicians and vice versa but as a person who cannot watch a single episode of a show ever (jk.....probably) I only ever check out the manga and osts HJKFJFDHKDSLS its kinda cool that the first episode is like a movie length adaptation of the first volume of the manga though from what i can tell) AND its very good!!
i did NAHT expect the reincarnation stuff (all i knew was it was a manga about an idol who has kids in secret) but theres some glimmers of interesting concepts touched on with that (kinda like half way between the modern isekai “i just am the person i was before i died just in a different body” and the 90s shoujo manga style “im mostly the new born person but there is the remnants of someone else in here”, it hasnt touched on it That Much but what they brought up is interesting, like that kid has simultaneously been alive for over 50 years and also is incredibly 15 years old hjkfdsjhfds) but it’s a showbiz mystery thriller with so much tonal whiplash OF COURSE i’d like it those are like. my favourite genres hjkfddsjklfd
so far ive been digging it. OR... well i’ve caught up and the last third has been. a little odd? i know i just said i love my tonal whiplash but it feels a little like its going really fast but also like. dropping some plot threads and character arcs that i was kind of hoping they would go back into? it’s still ongoing though, it could easily bring stuff back and turn around. im assuming this is a symptom of the weekly release schedule? 99% of the manga i read is monthly or occasionally volume at a time so im not as familiar with the structure. is the author like. okay. i know they take breaks but man. i could feel it with the arcs about the manga authors. salutes
that does remind me though. this isnt a manga ive read Recently (i first read it like a year or two ago) but recently i finally was able to collect all volumes of penguin revolution (VERY DIFFICULT FEAT for some reason all the volumes were cheap as hell except people kept listing volume 6 for like hundreds of dollars and i was like. its not worth that. i was finally able to find one for like under 15 bucks after like a year but MAN) and its interesting that like oshi no ko felt like. the slightly bloodier penguin revolution. penguin revolution with more blood and less acting magic hallucination little girls (actually what was that one little girl who showed up for a chapter....maybe they both have equal amounts LOL) JK JK they’re probably not very similar ones an award winning 2020s era seinen and the others a weekly shoujo from the mid to late 10s that was cut off short and while well rated, largely forgotten (not to me...to me its Everything) so they got different things going on  its just little blonde boys and their mother situations put me in the mind of penguin revolution...i should reread it again...
ALSO before i started that i read sweat and soap and um. first of all. that man is a little freak <3 second of all ITS REALLY GOOD its a really nice and sweet story about a couple navigating their relationship, the first chapters are a little clunky (i think the author mentioned it was a one shot that unexpectedly got picked up for a full series so thats why the first chapter is a little fast lol) THIRD OF ALL the depiction of bullying and how it can affect one later in life even as an adult was Very well done like especially how the bullies themselves may have completely moved on, thinking nothing of it even while it still consumes you, real ass shit for a manga about a little freak who sniffs <3 also just a very funny and fun manga with pretty great characters. if i ever get physical copies some of those book covers are gonna be. hard to explain
speaking of real ass shit before that i also borrowed sand chronicles from my library (<3 my local library it has so much manga for some reason!!!!) and that was ALSO 99% really really good as like a decade long coming of age character study about this girl and her trauma and how she attempts to navigate it, very realistic in a lot of ways, i mean it was heightened in classic 2000s shoujo ways but so many of the characters had me going like damn. i feel like i know these people jfkdshfds its good!!! EXCEPT. why’d they make that one guy marry his cousin. 99% good and 1% girl why. oh well, im still glad i read it, sometimes i find that something that does most things fantastically and one thing really bad has a lot of value as someone who loves media analysis LOL
OH and i havent finished this one yet, but seeing that little red bespectacled blonde twink and his 2018-ass undercut reminded me that i’d been meaning to read trigun, i watched the original anime when i was like 10 but all i remember is like. the opening theme guitars. something about plants. love and peace SO this is basically a new experience hjkFjdskdjfkds its good so far! I’ve only read like 3 chapters but i like it! i wish i could watch the new show too (i love that style of 3d animation) but as i said before. watching a show is. a monumental task. maybe someday
ANYWAY this has been BEEBEEPBEEBEEEBEEBEEP (news jingle) things i have read in the past couple months thank u and good night

So much for Seattle being cheaper than Victoria lmaoooo.
Vacation started well enough. Went to a housewarming of a friend who recently moved to Van from Ottawa. She has an amazing setup and view of the ocean! We shot the shit. We were talking about the upcoming Underworld album and we said that we are 100% seeing them in 2025 no matter what. Sean was like "Um. Me too?", and the thing is, when Sean says he's going to do something, he does.
Tumblr media
So now my vision for our destined Underworld concert is me, Aries and Sean in the very front losing our minds. Anyway, my other friend was like "Let's listen to Underground!", and she will never, ever live that one down. It was fun to have this view and these friends and that Underground née Underworld ammunition to make fun of her forever and ever.
We pissed off to Boys Noize around midnight and...it SUCKED. Not because Boys Noize sucked, but because Celebrities is a gentrified hell hole. I heard this through others but I didn't want to believe it. It was packed shoulder to shoulder!!!! No one was dressed fun!!!! Everyone seemed cis and straight!!!! IDK man.
We left to go to Dark 80s night instead and it was much better. 10/10.
We practiced temperance because we didn't want to be hungover for our trip to Seattle the next day. And we weren't. We were greeted by a beautiful rainbow as soon we got there. I was like "Oh excellent, that's a good sign."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hotel was very nice. Got free rosé. Had a two hour bath in a huge tub.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fucked around. I am completely gutted to report that the Lime scooters were so, so fun and I hate that look for me. I kind of want a scooter now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We went to this bar called Unicorn and I got a My Little Pony drink. They were also blasting Peaches. Probably one of the coolest bars I've ever been to.
The day we were supposed to leave Seattle, our car made a horrible sound I can't describe. Upon inspection, our serpentine belt was shredded! L M A O. It could have been so, so much worse. We were literally a minute off the freeway, and the spot we stalled in was blocked off for no parking for the weekend, but it was Monday so we were allowed to be there, but no one else was because the time details were printed so small that everyone assumed it was still no parking. The tow truck had no problem getting us, and we have BCAA so that part wasn't difficult. But the shop wouldn't be able to get our car ready until the next day so we had no choice but to spend another night.
Our friend in Seattle had been out of town but got back that evening and was like "Hey, if you're still around let's hang out", and I responded: "GOOOOOOD NEWS!!!! We're stranded!!! Come hang out."
Critical mistake.
So here's a thing I learned the hard way. The drinks in America are much heavier. Generous pours. Great if you want to get fucked up. Not great if you don't.
I was pacing around our hotel room trying not to vomit and they were both like "Girl!!!! Just fucking do it!!!".
I refused. We went and got french fries at 2am instead and the fries were okay but god fucking DAMN IT, the rest was brutal.
The next day our car wasn't ready until 4PM and we had to checkout at 11, so we wandered around aimlessly, violently hungover. Stumbling through Pike Place completely dead to the world was surreal. So many happy faces. So much aggravation and disdain in my heart.
I've never been happier to be home.
All this is to say: for an additional $1700 CAD, you too can have an extended stay in Seattle!!!! (that's how much it cost to repair our car and get another night in a hotel. Bleh.)

for the wrapped: multiples of 7!
okay but i'm gonna omit most of the ccm/gospel tunes because those don't really count lol i mean, they do, but they don't because those are just in here so i can learn them for church which requires repeated listenings heh
7: Everlasting Love - Howard Jones a banger! i think this was a fairly popular hit for him in the late 80s
14: Galileo - Indigo Girls another banger and it's currently #1 on my On Repeat at the moment. the drumming is so good on this one!
21: They Can't Take That Away From Me (Reprise) - Bruce Greenwood i really thought this one would be higher since it's so short and i know i listened to it A LOT but whatevs HE SOUNDS SO GOOOOOOOOOD OMG IM STILL NOT OVER IT AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE
28: One Thing Remains - Israel and New Breed this one slaps, it was so fun to play on the drums for my old church in TN, it'll get ya hype
42: King of Kings - Hillsong Worship also a nice one if you're into the ccm stuff, starts off mellow and builds quite nicely towards the end. a good one for easter
63: Do You Believe In Us - Jon Secada this is my childhood and my siblings and i know this whole album front to back, but this one is probably my favorite on the album
77: One Heartbeat - Smokey Robinson another one from my childhood and was crucial in Smokey's comeback in the late '80s. i remember years ago trying to explain to my mom that the verse and chorus seem to be in two different keys but she didn't get what i meant. i'm sure an actual musician can explain it better lol
91: Breakin' Away - Al Jarreau this album was also pretty important in my childhood, i mean, how could you not love Al Jarreau? this song was always my favorite on the album (but the whole thing is gooooood) oh and also, the amazing Jeff Porcaro from Toto playing drums on this track!
98: Valerie - Steve Winwood this one really puzzles me because i don't listen to it like ever because i'm more familiar with the remixed/rereleased one from his Chronicles compilation in '87 (this one is from 1982) and i feel like every time this one starts playing, i immediately queue up the other one and play that one instead. definitely feel like spotify got this one wrong
and this one wasn't in there at all! 😒
thanks for the ask! this was fun 😊

yumyumyumyumyum thank u!!!
also ohhhhhhh my gooooood this album was so so tremendously important to me in high school (and now a black keys song is on like Every cowboy playlist)
every other prime
2. Distant Stations covered by Andrew Bird - this one is honestly on there by mistake, though it's a good song. I swear I put it on one day and then took my headphones out and left it on repeat for hours and hours, because there is no conceivable way I listened to it enough for it to make top 5. If you feel cheated by that answer, true number 2 is You're on Your Own, Kid by Taylor Swift, which is a favourite choresbop for me. I have to hand it to madame Swift that a concept song about how being a pick-me girl for a mediocre small town boy didn't work out and then the singer ends up in some kind of nebulous blood-soaked mess is a fun concept.
5. Pyxis by Home which I got off a REALLY good wrestling music video and then became broadly obsessed with the entire album for coding bops. No lyrics, just chill electronic. Listening to this song really relaxes me, which is good for when I'm feeling out of my depth on a thorny problem.
11. THATS WHAT I WANT by Lil Nas X, another poppy choresbop. Many of the songs on my repeat list just help vacuuming feel like an adventure.
17. Travelers' Encore by Andrew Prahlow, one of the main themes from Outer Wilds. Augh ough emotions <333
23. Before the Night by Home, which happens to be the song after Pyxis on the album
31. Holy Roller by Thao, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down KAY REC ALERT!!!!!! I adored the personal playlist this ended up on which is a real delightful and honest mix of nostalgia picks, new loves, ship brainrot music, and "idk I'm coding to this shhhh" music.
41. The Fox, The Crow & The Cookie by mewithoutYou ough this one is just transcendent to me. Adaptation of a particular aesop's fable with a tone and instrumentation that just drives me wild. At one point I could name that chime-like instrument that carries the melody in background but it drives me wild
47. San Bernadino by The Mountain Goats I had a Heretic Pride moment earlier this year. This song is tender, if a little desperate. Something about the rose petal imagery gets me, like naive but true.
59. Cruel World by Phantogram which I nabbed from @eldesperadont's Jay White playlist and sits on my FinJay playlist as the narrative place where Jay comes back from excursion and is just a Total Asshole now. Great song too. 67. Tighten Up by The Black Keys which ended up on my Narita/Tsuji playlist because it reminded me of Tsuji :) 73. Make Me Wanna Die by The Pretty Reckless, both a Kuwana Jin song AND a coding bop for me. Do not ask me to psychoanalyze that one, it just feels right feels good. 83. I Ain't Worried by OneRepublic which surprises me! This is for sure an old chores bop, vivid and sweaty-handed memories of getting through my last move by pounding this one into my ears. I can't remember when this year I used this song to get through a Task but surely it did its job. 97. Stop a Bullet by Black Light Burns, also on the Finjay playlist, which I listened to quite a bit, being the main fic project of the year :)
I've sectioned out a handful that might be to your tastes here, thank you for playing fren <3
