So, first things first: I believe they could have genuinly been good friends if they werent fighting over Hazel. Speaking of Frank x Hazel, I dont ship it because I kinda think it's creepy that Hazel's thirteen and Frank's sixteen. Anyways, second reason is they have a lot in common. Their mother died, Hera fucked with their lives, their great grandfathers both expirienced racism, and they both feel like an outcast in the seven. Also the common association with fire is interesting to me.

Ive been desperately scrambling to find fanart of them, and all the pintrest comments on the ship art are saying "this should be illegal!!" WHY? HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT IT? IT SHOULD BE MORE POPULAR. IF FRANK WAS A TWINK THEN IT WOULD BE POPULAR ISTTGS.

i've recently been a bit obsessed with tae so i figured why not share some stuff with the class!

a whole bunch of bullet points below the cut...

a comfy clothes advocate. its not comfy? its not fashion. hoodies, big jackets, baggy overshirts; you name it, he wears it

speaking of, he lives in corduroy trousers. honestly, why be uncomfortable these days? he’s already got so much work to do

he also never wears black. he feels too edgy and out of place when he wears it. plus, that was t’s thing when they were thirteen

tae absolutely adores animals. yes, we know this. but you must understand: he LOVES them. he picks up stray birds, chases after foxes, talks to squirrels. growing up with a dog really brings something out in you

his favourite animals are bats though, closely followed by dogs. something about baby bats just gets to him

despite the whole 4town shabang, tae’s still an introvert. he doesn’t really like being the centre of attention, and it took almost their entire first tour to be somewhat okay on stage. why do you think he doesn’t have a single solo line in any of their songs?

he’s very upfront though. if someone’s out of line for whatever reason he won’t hesitate to present his thoughts. it’s not in a harsh way or anything, but he automatically announces a differing opinion, even if it’s just that someone thinks that minecraft is bad

yeah that’s right, he’s a gamer. he wouldn’t call himself good at video games but he grew up with a ds… and he plays a lot with z and jesse

tae bleaches his hair. yep. you heard me. that blonde is not his natural hair colour… kind of

tae’s hair is naturally brown with an assortment of random blonde strands. out of the band, aaron t is the only one to have seen this in person since tae’s been dyeing it since he was fourteen. t loved how it looked back then, but tae despised it, hence the bleaching (fanart coming soon i got you)

during that fourteen-year-old era, tae also dyed his tips bright pink… and he wants to die his hair green or blue one day

this man was a straight A student, like, he cried when he got a B in maths once and t got an A*

(using an english school system) tae took history, geography, german and psychology (and of course english, maths and sciences) in high school. english was by far his favourite subject, and he reflects his love for language through writing a lot of 4town’s lyrics

the fandom needs to chill the fuck out. ohh nooo someone drew equius sexy, even though in the fanart he has a full fucking beard and is obviously not thirteen, this is grooming minors pedophile! someone drew dirk making out with himself, this is somehow hurting incest victims. dirkjake cannibalsim is problematic actually!

its fine if you don't like something, but i find it weird that a community that's main mantra is if its not hurting anyone, let that person be (in response to LGBT/neurodivergent stuff) is so vigilant over stuff they don't like.

you can make up reasons for why something is problematic and shouldn't be on here all you like, but that won't change the reason that a lot of you want that stuff gone is because you don't like it personally, even if that shit did no harm besides offending people

In my half asleep state of painsomnia, my brain conjured a storyline of abandoned human baby Miya being found and cared for by pink kistune Kaoru/Cherry who is joined by obnoxious green dragon Kojiro/Joe in ancient Japan (yes, I’ve looked too long at some certain fanart—I legit can’t find the storyline to that. If you know, pls share link or smthg).

Around cannon age, Miya’s human parents find out he’s alive and since they didn’t have any other son (idk why they abandoned him yet) or whatever reason, they want him back. So like upright and moral, however spiritual, creatures, the kitsune and dragon assemble at the village for the hearing or whatever. Kaoru explains to Miya that those are his birth parents, as he’s explained before Miya’s human and neither him nor Kojiro are his *real* parents.

Miya at first scares them because he goes to the humans, but only to ask why he should ‘return’ to them and see them as his parents when, despite his human nature, Kojiro has taught him how to fly (whoops I’m getting it mixed with my wuxia) and though useless in his hands, he’s able to conjure “fox fire” under Kaoru’s tutelage. They, the humans, didn’t have to leave him to die in the forest (the reasoning explained by now), yet they did.

Likewise, Kaoru had no obligation to glance twice at the sick babe on the forest floor being stung by centipedes; Kaoru could have just as easily devoured both creatures or even taken it to fool the village to worship him. Yet he didn’t. Instead, Kaoru transformed into a human-ish appearance and scooped him up, holding him close and giving heat and love, cocooned in his many tails. He worried after the foreign creature and fussed himself into sickness as to how to care for him, because why would a kitsune who doesn’t have a habit of messing with humans know anything about them much less their medicine?

Likewise, Kojiro had noticed the stressed pair and though also unbeholdent to either creature, wrapped his long body around them and summoned a healing fire in his maw to keep the babe warm for thirteen days and nights as Kaoru suffused spiritual energy into the small body.

They could have dropped him back into the village when he was healthier than a young tortoise and purer than a Buddha, but they didn’t, because the very fact Miya had been left to die sewed distrust. Still, they could have dropped him in another village. Still, they didn’t.

Miya’s life should have ended so early, and yet he’d been raised by beings who shouldn’t have bothered with such a powerless creature, taught great feats of spirituality even though he largely didn’t posses the capability, taught how to hunt; them all learning how human shaped beings did so at the same time, and shown the tremendous respect, loyalty, caring and cunning from the beasts beyond nature.

Even now, they stood in their humanlike forms, letting themselves be surrounded by humans and openly showing their worry to lose their child to the humans that cast him off to begin with.

So no, even if Miya’s birth parents were daimyo, and the great beasts but cat and salamander spirits, there would be nothing that his human parents could offer him greater than what he had with Baba and Papa.

Lemme know if anyone wants to see that.

Ship It

1. What made you ship it?

So it's 2019 and you look over the potential ships for Jiang Cheng and you think about Nie Huaisang.

It's interesting because they have a relationship when they were young but we don't know much about without Wei Wuxian in the picture but you can imagine that they built a rapport; and then there are actual reasons why they might never had gotten closer in canon despite some attraction because they've both been very busy during those thirteen years of WWX's death. That's a lot of empty space that can be filled with stuff that WWX never knew about.

It's compelling, because you can build a case for being attractive to each others based on their respective sibling complexes. Nie Huaisang has his own family reasons to be able to read through Jiang Cheng's temper as caring. Jiang Cheng can appreciate both Nie Huaisang's whimsical side that draws him out of his shell, and his social fu behind an appearance of weakness. They can both bond over a lack of morals besides caring primarly about family/people they're close to. It just clicks as the idea of a dynamic of characters that is fun to play around.

It's kind of a crack pairing but it's a fun one. There's barely any fic yet, but the fanarts are gorgeous! (then latter the fandom would fill out a lot more with a lot of tasty fics).

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

The service top / power bottom dynamic. It's just easy for me to imagine Nie Huaisang being a dom, but a lazy one who prefers to bottom, and how that lets Jiang Cheng fills the role of someone who is more of a sub, but probably more comfortable topping. It's just a tasty, sideway dynamic which I adore about them <3

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Nothing I think. This is my favourite ship in the fandom and I enjoy a lot of different interpretations! Even *gasp* all the modern au which are usually really not my thing.

Harry chews his eggs carefully. He takes a bite of bacon and washes it down with a big gulp of wine. Alarm bells sound off in his brain. There are many reasons why living with Draco is a bad idea, first and foremost being his small crush, insignificant really. Although technically he wouldn’t be living with him, but nearby, almost on top of each other—

“Yes,” Harry says. “That’s…I’ll move into Rose Cottage. Thanks.”

Harry is content to spend his days at Draco’s flower stall at the farmers market, burying his true feelings in artisanal coffee and rose bouquets. Hello everyone! welcome to Ellie's thoughts, i've just had an existential crisis in the shower which happened because i've rewatched 'The Lorax' twice and had fallen for the green twink we all know and have mixed feelings for so buckle up people! This is gonna be a ride..

Also this is gonna be from the top of my head so excuse me if this seems like a bunch of thoughts mushed together by a thirteen year old who is stuck in quarantine with nothing to do but simp for fictional characters because this is exactly what it is! yay!

Okay where to start? Ah yes, my rediscovery of simping for The Onceler. To be honest, I have no idea what came over me. At first I said I had simped for The Onceler as a joke, making a main OC of mine crave for him and all of a sudden, I just decided to dig deeper into the lad and find ancient relics back in 2012. I ended up rewatching 'how bad can i be', rewatching clips from the lorax, watching that one video on youtube where they just took all the shots of him and started to obsess over him.

I got really invested into his whole 'greed and pride arc' thing and seeing so many people also breaking down his story and again, binge-watching content on him, I ended up getting extremely invested into him which lead to me rediscovering The Onceler fandom.

Back in 2020-2021, I already knew of the fandom's existence, it's uprising all of a sudden and I did sort of participate in it but in private. I made an OC to ship him with and did genuine stuff with it but then I lost interest in the span of a month. However, I only really got to see the 'newer fandom and not actually delve deeply into the lore or the fandom for that matter. I only really liked him because he was cute and I saw other people liking him and decided "Hey, it's popular!" so I went along with it.

Now, I'm back and I'm now watching detailed analyses of the fandom, revisiting tumblr just for content on the guy and seeking content of him because i'm so invested into this now. Looking back onto all the old stuff, how people said the fandom was going crazy shipping The Onceler with himself kinda made me feel warm? Familar? Idk how to describe the feeling, I was 3 in 2012 so I didn't really get to experience it's prime but now that i'm rediscovering it, I've realised it must've been super fun. The askblogs, the roleplay's, the AU's, it all seems so fun and I wish I could've been a part of it.

I wondered why I was feeling so attached to something that happened such a long time ago, that happened while I wasn't aware of what the internet even was back then and there comes my existential crisis in the shower. I feel alone-ish, I feel attached to The Onceler because it was something people enjoyed, it's something I was familiar with and that I could've bonded with people about, it just felt like a bunch of teens being teens. I wanted to experience that, it kinda makes me emotional because a lot of people said they had fun, it was fun.

I think the reason that i'm getting so attached to things that were so long ago is also due to the fact that I to felt a sense of nostalgia and belonging, and I know this is THE ONCELER FANDOM but damn. I guess I just really miss the when people went bonkers with anything and could do whatever they wanted on the internet. Kinda probably also has ties to the fact I was (and kinda are) in the Undertale AU fandom (not comparing fandoms i hope).

I'm sorry for making this so gosh darn long and speaking of The Onceler fandom as if it was some era in history when in reality it was just a couple of years ago lol, just wanted to say what I had in mind. Seeing Onceler fanart and stuff about him being posted really makes me happy, thank you <3
