Also tell me your headcanons for Northumbria 😌

Oooh! I was not expecting 1 ask abt any of my OCs, let alone 2!! 😅

- Whilst Northumbria was annexed in the 11th century, Bria has continued to live on. Now representing the north of England.

- As the north, she has lots of fields and more scenic locations. Both the Yorkshire dales and the Lake District are located in the north of England, thus we have a bit of a Cottagecore queen here!

- she has a pet hedgehog called Apple.

- generally speaking, the further up north in England you go, the friendlier people become. Which means Bria is a lot friendlier than Arthur is. She sees this as a good thing, but it can get pretty annoying when you have somewhere to be but she’s stopping to have a chat for 10 minutes with someone she recognises from the fish and chips shop.

- she’s originally from York, but nowadays the very north of England (right next to Scotland) is pretty much the only area to still use the “Northumbria” label, so she’s now living in Newcastle upon Tyne, and has the thickest geordie accent you’ll ever hear.

- she makes a mean Yorkshire pudding!

- despite being quite friendly and sweet, she definitely inherited the loud gene- just like all the rest of her siblings. She’s very much a motherly figure, so she doesn’t shy away from giving you a mouthful if you misbehave.

- she’s also very loud when she’s passionate, and she gets passionate very easily over rugby- league specifically. Doesn’t play the sport herself, but she watches every game that’s on and will yell at the screen.

- she and wales constantly disagree whether rugby league or rugby union is better. But they both agree, “at least it’s not football.”

- she loves walking. Going out on walks around the country. She really enjoys camping, too.

- despite all that, she has really bad hay-fever.

- ultimately she’s very comforting, and probably the easiest out of the UK siblings to go to if you’re feeling upset and in need of advice. She’ll make you some tea, cook up some mince & dumplings, hold you, and probably also go on a bit of a rant about whoever’s hurt you.

I had a very odd dream where a train (or bus?) I was on got yanked into another world. While my dream had nothing to do with SVSSS, it did have my waking self thinking about how hilarious and/or horrifying such a thing could be as an AU.

Imagine Shen Yuan riding the subway, train or bus one day, when something happens and his whole car gets yanked into the world of PIDW. Nobody else in the car knows anything about PIDW, so Shen Yuan finds himself with the self imposed task of keeping this eccentric group of strangers alive in a weird world full of demons, monsters, and aphrodisiac plants.

The group’s first assumption would probably be that they’re still on modern earth, and just got teleported somewhere. Their second assumption, if they come across common folk, might be they somehow ended up in the past.

Then they run into some monster, or people riding on swords with specific uniforms, or a commoner mentions a name or event only Shen Yuan recognizes. The rest of the party debates what sort of Xianxia or Wuxia world they’ve ended up in, while poor Shen Yuan sweats bullets. He knows exactly what world they are in, and they are so screwed.

I have this image of poor beleaguered nerd Shen Yuan successfully protecting and leading this group of primary school kids, their cute teacher, and a handful of grannies and grandpas, while all the other adults and older teens keep wandering off and getting themselves in trouble.

i don’t know if i know how to word this properly but basically i just really like that buck’s realization shows older people who might be questioning their sexuality that it’s okay to not know in your thirties or older, but i also really like that it shows younger people that you don’t have to know right here and now and there’s no age you have to know by. i like how it emphasises the fluidity of sexuality in the form of a macho firefighter who hasn’t considered men in any conscious (or even subconscious) light, and i think that’s a very important point to put across

there’s something to be said about finding out that you’re queer in your thirties and i love that 911 is showing us that through buck, and showing us that maybe you might always know through hen, and showing us that maybe you’ve repressed it for a good chunk of your life through michael but there’s also something to be said for the younger viewers who are struggling to label themselves - to know that it’s okay to not know just yet and still be valid, and be a member of the queer community. and there’s also something to be said about seeing a thirty year old man slip into his realization all happy and safe with another firefighter who tried to hide that part of him, and basically i love my lil gay firefighter show

Three years!

Hello, everyone and happy Jimlingss anniversary! Woohoo! It has been three years since my official retirement and eight years since I’ve began this blog. That’s absolutely crazy since it all feels like yesterday. Time flies when you’re having fun.

First and foremost, thank you to all who still send me messages and give me feedback on my stories! I do check back once in a while and read everything, so nothing goes unnoticed. Your kind words always make me miss the simpler days of writing. :’) It really gets me nostalgic.

Second, here is my yearly update!

I’ve finished my second year of law school! I finished off this year with a bang and did quite well, if I do say so myself. There’s one more year left to go and that’s insane since I remember the first day so vividly. I’m a bit sad for it to be all over — I never thought I’d ever feel this way. But I’ve made so many friends and created so many memories. When it’s all over, everyone will be going their own path. Luckily, I’m sure we’ll remain connected and be close friends no matter what.

I don’t think I’ve had such a positive experience quite like this in all my years of schooling. I’ve always been the type to just scurry on home, never liked what I was studying, and never had too many friends. So this change has been unexpected yet very welcome.

In terms of career, I’ve been working this summer and I have something lined up for when I’m finished school! So soon I’ll be racking in the dough, wooooooo!! Let’s get it!

My family is also doing well — and I feel very fortunate for that. 

Third, and most important, I am happy to announce that I have a boy I absolutely adore! We’ve officially been dating for four months? That seems so short on paper, but we’ve known each other for close to two years! I’m living out one of my friends to lovers fics, I swear (lol).

He’s been a close friend since the start of law school and somewhere along the line I gradually caught feelings (of course I did lmao). I was sure rejection was on the horizon and I wanted to preserve our dear friendship, so I was trying to get over it for months by myself. This included online dating and going on a string of dates (hahaha). I ended up cracking and calling him on the phone one night, but then aborted mission. Thanks to the advice of a friend, I stopped avoiding him and being an embarrassment, and I finally confronted him. He said we should give it a shot, and here we are!

He has brown, curly hair that reminds me of a poodle. And he made me realize why love is so loved — why it’s so revered — talked about — imprinted in each other’s minds. Everywhere. I’ve written countless love stories but never truly experienced the feeling before, and yet, he’s made the heart of my stories come to life. He’s let me live them in real time. 

I really hope it works out! LOL

Anyway, I’m always happy to do these updates and for all those who may be just a bit curious enough about me to check in. Although this is a very positive update (and I hope it continues to be), my life isn’t without its ups and downs either. It just seems to be in a general upwards trajectory. 

Thank you to everyone who still remembers me, and who may still read my stories! I definitely haven’t forgotten about you all, so I hope you haven’t forgotten me either.

Specific design explanation underneath!

I wanted to keep a bunch of the stuff Arin has on his usual outfits, so for example the dragon (claws) motif or him wearing fingerless gloves (at least, in my design). And, of course, him keeping his waistband and mask in order to create a mockery for the other ninja (and it fits very neatly into the colour scheme)— with a lil green triangle! Yk! For Lloyd :]!!

I showed my mother the bluza music video last night and I wrote what she had to say during it 

“Why do the others not get jackets? Why is he the only one with one?”

“They must have spent all the money on his jacket so no one else could have one, or extras for seats” (she was very hung up on the seats and his jacket) 

She just laughed really loudly when Bojan got hit with a bottle, she doesn’t like Bojan much I think or likes physical comedy

“They’re really getting into the fighting there” 

“They must have spent all their time choreographing the fighting” (I don’t know if this is meant to be positive or negative)

I also mentioned my friend (didn’t tell her which one) thinking the guy was pulling the lady away to kiss Bojan and she laughed and went “No, he’s mine” like that’s what he was thinking
