If my brain would cooperate right now I'd write something coherent about how this plays into a lot of the imagery in their music, the bird/garden/nature sounds at the beginning of Take Me Back To Eden vs "Just two days since the mainframe went down and I'm still messed up" or the contrast between tech and nature in Aqua Regia (I'm thinking specifically "Between teeth in a broken jaw/Following a blood trail, frothing at the maw" vs "These days I'm a circuit board/Integrated hardware you cannot afford"). Like there's very much a dueling technology vs nature thing going on and it WORKS SO WELL. I will formulate this into A Thing one day but today is not that day.

I love how well Sleep Token’s aesthetics fit so well together?? Like Vessel is out here wearing something straight out of a fantasy novel, III has a lot of different aesthetic but right now he’s got a Victorian theme going on it feels like, and then II and IV kinda have a techwear thing going on. And it seems like it would be the worst mesh ever, but it works. It freaking works.

My Mattheo Riddle Headcannons

Okay so I've had these circling my brain for a while. Hope you enjoy, but plz don't come for me if you don't think these are correct. These are just what I think.

Okay for starters, he's definitely Sleep Token coded. You can fight me on this. This is the hill I die on.

Like specifically Blood Sport and Ascensionism. You cannot tell me otherwise.

No matter how the story starts, I feel like he'll maybe pine from afar just to keep you safe. At least during the beginning of your relationship.

I feel like during 5th year, he'll definitely be obsessed at that point and will do anything to keep you safe (specifically from Umbitch)

So I think he'll definitely like join her squad and just be a lot more lenient with you.

He also did it probably because all his friends did — Theo and Enzo probably did it for shits and giggles.

I also feel like he'd be fluent in pet names once your relationship gets going. Specifically Italian and Spanish. Maybe even a little French.

He's definitely a tease when he finally doesn't care about staying away anymore.

Like he'll be so frustrating but charming at the same time and you'd hate it.

But don't mind or you get used to it eventually.

I believe it's well known he gets into fights and he most definitely will. Mainly if he hears someone talk bad about you or are just being creeps.

Speaking of that too, HE'S JEALOUSSSS!!! Like so much so if he sees you being all flirty with someone he will immediately intimidate them and tell them to back off.

Circling back to the goon squad thing, he would so use his power to intimidate people too. Why have power if you're not gonna use it?

He would definitely have his friends begging him to actually do something about his feelings for you.

And he'll always make up some sort of excuse.

Cuz he hates the way he wants to be selfish but can't because he doesn't wanna put you in danger.

if you’re asking if I have a playlist, I do not! when I work I usually throw everything I have on shuffle and I am lazy, so I’ve never sat down and tried to make a themed playlist. but I guess I could try to think of a few songs!

account veterans probably associate me with mcr, which is fair. the song “Demolition Lovers” is probably my favorite and the one I’d recommend here! If you want other emo stuff, “Current Convulsive” and “Hell Above” by pierce the veil too!

if you want metalcore “Sleep Disorder” by Sycamour is really good! so is “Acid” by ghost town, and “Ascensionism” by sleep token (some people don’t like sleep token but I think theyre very fun)

and for misc, I’ll throw in “Face of Melinda” by Opeth, “God Made Me An Animal” by Better Lovers, and “Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles” by Fall of Troy! (While I’m here, I just learned that one of my favorite songs from when I was in middle school got a remake/sequel, Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing by Set It Off—that one is super nostalgic to me, and if you’ve never heard it before you’ll probably see why!)

i'm being really picky but like "these days i'm a circuit board, integrated hardware you cannot afford." - aqua regia from take me back to eden (2023). vessel is an engineering girlie!! /j also i could point out the latin title is a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid sooo

still in aqua regia, we have "sugar on the blood cells, carbon on the brain." mhm, speak stem girlie!

aqua regia is full of stem textbooks: "oxytocin running in the ether. silicon ballrooms. subatomic interactions if it's all good. gold rush, acid flux. saturate me, i can't get enough. cold love, hot blood." so the debrief: oxytocin is a hormone. ether are a class of compounds. the rest i think is self-explanatory, as they're elements and cute little stem terms oxox

Hey, c'mere a minute. Listen to me. I know it's been a bit of a day what with the Sleep Token Instagram being wiped clean in the midst of all the doxxing bullshit going on, but I think we're maybe getting a little hysterical. There is so, so much evidence that wiping the Instagram is part of a calculated move to launch a new era, and not a signal that they're walking away. Let's lay it out.

II, III and IV revealed new looks at the Wembley show; Vessel didn't

They posted a link to Ascensionism on YouTube today, and while people are drawing a line between the doxxing and "you make me wish I could disappear" I would like to instead draw your attention to the line "You're gonna watch me ascend"

Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb and Take Me Back To Eden tell a story. They're a trilogy. The end of Euclid calls back to The Night Does Not Belong to God. It's full circle, end-of-an-era stuff. But if the end of the era was the band itself it would be absolute nonsense to put all that work into designing new aesthetics for 3/4 of the band for ONE SHOW.

The website is still up and the Twitter is still active. It's only Instagram that got cleared out, and even then the saved story highlights are all still there

As has certainly been pointed out by others this is not uncommon. Paramore has done this at leas twice. I feel like Hayley does it semi-regularly on her own account, as well as periodically just leaving social media in general. All members of AFI and their official account changed their profile images to just black ahead of the release of their 2017 album. It's a Thing.

Tour dates!! They still have tour dates. They're going to Australia with Bring Me The Horizon in April (Australia I am SEETHING WITH JEALOUSY). They have Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks and Sonic Temple

Yeah, the doxxing sucks. It's got to be stressful for them. But there's also been radio silence from the band and their camp on it and I think that's absolutely the right call -- there are potential legal consequences and it very well could be something lawyers are dealing with. Remember that this is the music BUSINESS and they are not defenseless little meow meows in this. A line has been crossed, boundaries violated, that sucks, that's unforgivable, but I genuinely don't believe we're gonna see the end of the band over it. I mean they are WAY too committed to the bit to let this slow them down.

I think instead we are going to get a tour announcement, and I think we're going to get it as early as this week. Maybe early next week.

We might even get new music or a new reveal from Vessel between now and the Australia dates.

Now let my depressed ass go back to crying to Atlantic on repeat and let's all calm down.

Ok so obviously the physical copies of their music are my favourites but idk if that counts as merch.

If it comes to clothing, idk I love all of my shirts and hoodies (I also got one of the reaper angel which I forgot here lol). If I had to choose I'd probably pick the Ascensionism & coral heart jumpers and the TPWBYT hoodie!

As of fanmade merch I love all the art I got and the two bracelets from @moonchild-in-blue & @vesselsscarlet, which I haven't taken off since I got them! 🥺🫶

And fanmade by me, I love the tinies I made last year! They are wonky and messy but I love them all! 🥺

I have some other merch too but I think that's enough, lol. I'm basically a walking billboard for Sleep Token at this point! 😂
