Now that the hype I've had for the graphic novel has died down this is my final verdict: it was solid but overpriced to hell and back.

To make sure I'm not just being overly critical, I decided to look up different comic listings on Dark Horse, comparing the total number of pages vs the detail of the comic itself, whether it was colored, etc.

And one of the most expensive comics I saw listed was called Dawnrunner - which was priced at 30 bucks, was more detailed, and had nearly double the pages as Teeth of God does. Teeth of God's actual story content spans 88 pages total.

And just in case people would think it's unfair for me to compare a comic from a different publishing company, I went on Sumerian's own website to see what other comics they have listed, and all fall within the price range of 20-30 dollars on average.

The Bad Omens comic is also nearly double the size of Teeth of God and cost 30 dollars. And yeah, I'm sure black pages and extras are included in that, but even then I doubt those extras would account for half of the novel's total page count.

Even more telling is that I checked the Teeth of God novel's price again and what do you know, they lowered the price to 40 dollars.

This isn't meant to disparage the artists involved, to be clear. I know they worked hard. I think artists deserve to be paid actual, livable wages reflective of their skillset, but it's clear here that this has nothing to do with paying artists their fair share. This is capitalizing on a band's fame to pocket as many dollar bills as possible -- and if Sumerian's pitiful response has shown me anything, it's that they don't care about burning bridges. They got the money they wanted and took no responsibility for their abysmal shipping delays and borderline nonexistant communication.

Sleep Token fans, we have been ridden hard. We paid the band tax.

to anyone in the areas impacted by the wildfire smoke, my #1 biggest piece of advice as someone whos been dealing with wildfire smoke in the NW united states for years, is build yourself a Corsi-Rosenthal Cube

they perform as well as expensive HEPA air cleaners, and are comparatively VERY inexpensive. all you need is a box fan, 4 air filters, a piece of cardboard, and some duct tape!!!!

i think it took us maybe a half hour to put ours together, if that, and we replace the filters every 3 months. it's really made a HUGE difference, both when the air quality is bad, but also with our allergies
