remember how filoni just wrote sabine's entire family off as dead with a single throwaway line and then never let her talk about it. and the people that do bring it up aren’t ever her!! (it’s baylan and huyang iirc). remember how he basically erased all of her mandalorian identity, and made her connection to her family and to mandalore basically non-existent. and then to add insult to injury he was like ‘well she can use the force now, apparently, so it’s fine.’

Okay imagine you're Lister. Your Kochanski is dead. Your Rimmer is dead. But then your Rimmer comes back, and he's back because of you. You made him possible. Then he leaves- you encouraged him to leave. And another Kochanski appears. She's not your Kochanski but she could be. Only she doesn't want to be because you're not her Lister. And then you're confronted with a Rimmer who was your Rimmer, at one point, but not anymore, because he grew and you've grown and this Rimmer hasn't.

Then imagine you're Kochanski. Your Lister died, but he comes back because of you. You made him possible. And then you're forced to leave him due to things out of your control. And there's a new Lister who wants you to be some version of you that isn't you- his Kochanski. But you can't because you are not his Kochanski and he's not your Lister. You may never see your Lister again. You will never see your universe again.

And imagine you're Rimmer. This is your Lister. He has to be, because to you, for you, there is no other Lister. But you aren't his Rimmer. He's changed and he wants a version of you that has changed with him. He and this Kochanski (who is not his Kochanski but is the closest he has to her) and the strangers you're supposed to know are the reason you're here. They made you possible. But you are not their Rimmer. You are no one's.

Now imagine trying to be normal with this information in mind

A mutual of mine met Timothy Zahn at Comic Con Revolution last weekend. We scream about Thrawn all the time, so I was really excited for her to meet him! It was your usual fan interaction, but something that he told her really stuck out to me. It made me kind of sad too.

He said "If they [Lucasfilm] ever want to continue his story, I'm ready and waiting." (the context: my friend asked whats to come for Thrawn). Thats not verbatim, but the fact that Lucasfilm has not approached him about his OC confirms to me they wrote all his show appearances without even a glance in Zahn's direction.

You could come to that conclusion on your own bc of this "Heir to the Empire" characterization they've put him in. (The legends are great but not canon anymore and Filoni is back on his ignoring canon novels bs)

The fact that this came directly from TIMOTHY FCKN ZAHN himself makes it even more maddening.

okay do y’all remember in 2019 when the mandalorian season one dropped and the fics were also dropping like immediately?? and we all knew that mando’s real name was Din Djarin but for some reason we didn’t know how to spell it so for a long time all fics about him were with the name “Dyn Djarin” until like episode 7 came out or something and it was revealed it was spelled “Din” and everyone scrambled to change the spelling?? or did I just make all this up??
