002 get him back!
✧ wc: 4k
✧ warnings/content: miya osamu x fem!reader, sfw, fake dating au, angst to fluff,
✧ GUTS masterlist, regular masterlist
divider from @/cafekitsune
It all started when Miya Atsumu said that you would never be able to find anyone who could put up with you. And you would have taken that with a grain of salt, if Miya Atsumu wasn't your ex who also happened to be a thorough asshole.
“Well you dated me didn’t you?!”
“And we broke up, duh.” he says flippantly.
You clam up at that. You know he’s just saying things. He doesn’t mean it and he’s a complete moron. But it’s been almost a year since the break-up and not a single man has even offered to buy you a drink. Are you going to have to resort to making a Hinge profile?
–
“I don’t know why ya let him get to ya. He’s just a moron, Osamu says.
“You have to say that, he’s your brother,” you grumble.
“True. But he is an idiot.”
You plop your face heavily into the elbow resting on the counter and blow raspberries in one big exhale.
“Don’t get yer spit all over where my customers eat.”
You grunt, turning over to watch Osamu work behind the counter.
“Do you think I’m unlovable?” you ask.
“Huh?”
“There must be a reason no one’s asked me out on a date in the past 8 months, right?”
Osamu sighs, dropping off a plate of food in front of you. “I’m not gonna answer that.” Then he turns with his back facing you to fiddle with something on the other side of the kitchen.
“Why not?”
He exhales through his nose, quiet, but you hear it.
He doesn’t get the chance to answer because the door swings open to reveal Osamu’s twin. You jolt up, fixing your posture, self-conscious about letting Atsumu think his words are getting to you.
And rightfully so because Atsumu acts like a shark that smells blood. His lips curl up into what he thinks is a smirk, but resembles much more of a snarl.
“What’s up with ya,” he asks oh-so-innocently.
You have no good response and feel your face heating up in embarrassment when Osamu swoops in.
“Are ya gonna sit down or just block my door? ‘Cause I got people that actually pay to eat here.”
Atsumu starts yelling something at Osamu but simmers down into the seat next to you and mumbles something to himself, no doubt some choice words for his brother. It gives you momentary reprieve from Atsumu’s provocation which is the last thing you need right now with your self-esteem in the dumps.
The break is temporary though, because like a true creature with short-term memory and a propensity for being a prick, Atsumu circles back to the topic when he’s done eating.
“So, found a guy to take you out?”
“What makes you think I’d answer that question,” you bite back. Weak, but it’s all you have.
“Hah,” he scoffs. “I knew it. Ya can’t find anyone.”
You feel the irritation boiling like a witch’s cauldron inside of you, brewing a mix of resentment, mortification, and the tiniest streak of competitiveness. Atsumu not shutting up for the rest of the night is the final ingredient that makes your red hot concoction boil over. It goes a bit like this:
“Tell me if ya want me to set ya up with someone from the team. Might be the only chance ya get at this rate,” he teases.
“No thanks,” you hiss. “I’ll have you know that I’m dating Osamu, widely known as the better Miya.” You point smugly at Osamu whose back is currently to you both.
“What!” Atsumu yells. “Osamu? And you?”
With Osamu’s back to you, you can’t see his face, but all your fingers and toes are crossed that he’ll play along so that you don’t burn up in a gas of complete humiliation.
When Osamu turns around, his eyes go to you first. They search yours for something – what, you don’t know. He apparently finds it because he blinks away and tells his brother to mind his own business, neither denying nor validating your claim.
It might as well be confirmation though, because Atsumu squawks in indignation, sputtering his disbelief. Osamu continues to bicker with his brother, keeping him occupied enough to not realize that he was slowly being backed out of the restaurant.
When Osamu slams the door on Atsumu and twists the lock in a dramaticized show of finality, Atsumu finally gives up, yelling a muffled “I’ll be back.” through the windows. You could laugh at the duo if Osamu didn’t turn around and fix you with a look, similar to that of a responsible older brother scolding a child.
“Now yer turn. What was that about?”
“Osamu! You heard the way he was talking to me. I just can’t stand it!”
“Have ya thought this through? How’s this supposed to end, huh? We break up and Atsumu goes back to making fun of ya?”
You open your mouth to beg, because it’s always worked with Osamu. He always gives in. But he’s not done, apparently.
“‘Least ya could’ve done is ask me out, not use me to get through yer petty grudge with ‘Tsumu.”
That shuts you up. When you look at Osamu, he’s not looking at you. His eyes are downcast, distracting himself by wiping up the counter. It’s so brief that you convince yourself that you imagined the hurt in his voice.
“‘Samu…”
“Forget it. I’ll do it, but ya better have it thought out because I’m not helping ya anymore than this.”
It should be a win and any other time, you would wrap him up in a bear hug and shower him with thanks, but the defeated way Osamu concedes makes you solemnly finish your meal. It feels unfitting to say thank you.
–
Your first stint as Osamu’s girlfriend comes in the form of a friend’s dinner party. Since the night you forced Osamu to be your boyfriend, you have been back at Onigiri Miya to hang out, but have painfully tiptoed around the topic. The thought has occurred to you that you and Osamu should agree upon a backstory, but you haven’t had the courage to breach the topic after the way Osamu reacted.
He had just nodded when you asked him to attend this dinner party with you. And with that, he had dutifully picked you up at your apartment, perfectly on time. You had expected a stone-faced Osamu all night, but he had surprised you with a sweet smile, one that you’re used to being on the receiving end of. But it somehow feels different tonight. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s supposed to be smiling at you as your lover tonight. It was easy, the way he had held out his arm for you, no awkwardness in sight.
At dinner, Osamu makes no move to let go of your hand, going as far as to intertwine your fingers under the table. When any one asks how the two of you began dating, he squeezes to tell you he’ll handle this. You’re grateful and you feel undeservingly spoiled as you watch him. He looks around the room, drifts his gaze back to you where his lips flicker upwards for the tiniest second, then looks back at the crowd to flash a mysterious, close-lipped smile. You can barely hear the dinner table go wild with jeers and Atsumu squawking as you gawk at Osamu’s act.
And it goes on.
As you eat, he keeps your fingers clasped between his, laid on his lap. Atsumu gives you two the stink-eye, questioning why Osamu was eating with his left hand. You’re pretty sure your eyes are bulging out of your head at this point, because Osamu flushes. Osamu is blushing as he reluctantly lets go of your hand, making a show out of placing your hand back on your own lap and mumbling a heavily-accented apology at no one in particular.
–
When dinner finally ends, the party migrates to the living room. Osamu doesn’t need to ask, perfectly picking your favorite after-dinner drink of choice as he chooses a beer for himself. He has once again claimed your hand in his. His grip is tight and when you try to slip your hand out to get some space, he holds tighter.
You lean up to whisper in his ear, “Osamu, my hands are sweaty.”
He leans down to hear you better, but stands back up when he registers your comment. He ignores you, only squeezing twice, as if telling you to behave for him. Your head spins; you’ve never dated like this before.
Being with Atsumu was like living in a comically unrealistic sit-com, like you were constantly finding yourself in situations and having conversations that belong in a Tom and Jerry episode. He argued with you about everything, had an ego, and a temper. A particularly memorable moment was when he was still courting you, trying to convince you to date him by saying, “I’m six foot two.”
“Dude, nice try,” you had said.
But somehow, right now, with Osamu standing by your side and towering over you, you think that if this younger twin used that line on you right now, you’d fold in half for him. As if you wouldn’t with all the sweet nothings he’s lavished on you in this one night.
He only lets you get away when you embarrassingly whisper to him that you need a bathroom break.
“I’ll walk with ya.”
“No!” you exclaim. You lower your voice when he stares at you. “It’s okay, ‘Samu. I’ll be right back, okay?”
He backs off and you finally get away from his orbit.
Finally alone, you barely pull yourself together. You stare at your reflection in the mirror, slapping your cheeks lightly to pry the strange daze from your eyes. You can’t get carried away here. Osamu is doing you a favor, one he isn’t fond of. You can’t get used to Osamu treating you like this. It’s borrowed time.
You splash water onto your face, waiting until the chill seeps into your cheeks that have been painfully hot since Osamu picked you up tonight.
As you exit the bathroom, Atsumu is there waiting for you in the hallway.
“I’m onto ya,” he starts.
You scoff, immediately putting your facade back on. It’s easy with Atsumu. “Oh please, Atsumu. You’re just jealous.”
It doesn't phase Atsumu the way you hope. “Such a weak comeback. Sounds like something you’d say to disguise the fact that yer playin’ my brother.” Your brother is the one playing me.
“Whatever, Atsumu,” you say, walking away, taking Osamu’s advice to not let Atsumu get to you.
“I bet ya forced my brother to pretend to be yer boyfriend. I know my brother and I know you. Just admit it.” He smirks. “It’s okay that no one wants to date ya. Nothin’ to be ashamed of.”
The fact that even Atsumu, even all of his stupidity, sees right through you makes you feel hot. You’re grateful that you’ve already turned away from him because you could not take much more damage tonight. Nothing would end you in a worse way than Atsumu seeing that he could make you cry.
Or maybe it’s the fact that Atsumu doesn’t, for one second, believe that someone like his brother could fall for someone like you. Maybe no one does. Maybe everyone here just thinks that you’re making this up and they’re playing along to help you save face.
It takes everything in you to keep your steps and breathing even as you take the walk back to Osamu to compose yourself.
It’s useless apparently because Osamu seems right through you. He immediately offers to take you to the balcony, explaining to everyone that you need some fresh air to cut through the alcohol you’ve had.
His silent understanding makes it worse because it makes it clear that you’re an open book. The act you put on is completely pointless because no one believes you anyway.
Osamu guides you to the balcony and shuts the door behind him, leaving the two of you alone.
He joins you at the railing, draping his jacket over you. You know he knows that you want to avoid looking into his eyes, just as much as he knows you want to avoid having this conversation altogether. He sighs.
“Why do ya let him get to you like that?”
You look back at him, eyes widening at the tone he rarely takes with you. His eyes are fixed forward, arms still dutifully wrapped around you, ever the dedicated boyfriend. But as his gaze flickers to you momentarily, you catch the weight of his question in his eyes.
“Who?” you mumble.
But Osamu’s not in the mood. He stays silent, letting the question hang in the air.
“I don’t know… I just…”
“Are ya still in love with my brother?”
“No,” you answer honestly.
Osamu raises his brows.
“No, but I’ve known him for so long now.” You feel the need to explain. “He just gets under my skin. You of all people should understand – he’s your brother! You guys fight all day long.”
“He’s my brother. We shared a womb. We were born to fight.” Osamu sighs. “You, though... Why can’t ya just let it go?”
“I don’t know! I just…” you trail off.
He continues to stare at you, not even knowing the effect he has on you. His earnest gaze pulls the truth out from under your skin.
“I wanna get him back,” you admit.
Osamu’s eyes go dark at that statement. His expression shutters.
“Not like that!” you quickly amend. “Not like I want to get back with him, I mean like, his face just pisses me off!”
“Huh?”
“I just wanna punch him in the face but I don’t think anything would give me more satisfaction than proving him wrong you know. And honestly, Osamu, you-”
“Ya think that I’m the perfect person to piss him off for ya. ‘Cause I’m his brother and there’s no one else who would get under his skin more than if I replaced him.”
You hear the disappointment heavy in his intonation.
“Osamu…”
“Am I wrong?”
He’s not wrong, but you feel an urge to tell him how he made you tingle at dinner. It was in the way he catered to your whims, covered for you, and held your hand in secret. It was in the way he, as your not-boyfriend, made you feel loved and desired much more so than any other boyfriend you’ve ever had before.
But when you look at his side profile, face now turned away from you and hidden by the shadows of the night, it doesn’t feel right to say any of that. Even in your mind, it sounds like an excuse. Because the bottom line is that he’s right. Your original intentions had been to use Osamu. And the fact that you might have developed a slight crush on him in the process doesn’t make you feel any less shitty and certainly doesn’t make Osamu feel any less used.
His question goes unanswered.
–
The rest of the week goes by uneventfully. Actually, it goes by too uneventfully because Osamu doesn’t call or text once. Not that you’ve made an effort, but after how that last conversation with Osamu ended, you can’t find the courage to face Osamu.
It doesn’t make you miss him any less.
You can’t recall if you used to miss Osamu like this, think about him and wish he’d reach out even if it’s only been a couple of days since you’ve last met. You only know that right now, you wish he’d make the first move because you can’t muster up the nerve to see him, even if it’s all you wanted. It also makes you realize that Osamu has been spoiling you long before that night and long before he agreed to be your fake boyfriend. The reason you never had to miss him is because he is always the one who makes the effort to call, text, bring you lunch, pick you up from work, drive you around.
The realization only made you feel worse about yourself.
And after days of mulling over realization after realization, each making you guiltier and guiltier, you made your decision.
That’s how you end up running to Osamu’s apartment, late on a Thursday evening. Without pausing to compose yourself, afraid you’ll lose your momentum, you knock.
The door swings open to reveal a very tired-looking, very handsome Osamu. He has his cap off, but his hair is unruly, as if his fingers have just recently run through it. His eyes are slightly bloodshot and his t-shirt is wrinkled. The urge to rub your thumb over his eyelids and smooth your other hand over this shirt is a sudden one you shove down because Osamu’s opening his mouth.
“Hey, what’cha doing here so late?”
There’s a momentary disappointment that strikes your gut. He asks you so normally, as if he isn’t plagued with thoughts of avoiding you. As if the couple of days that have gone by without any interaction between the two of you isn’t even a thought that occupies headspace.
“Uh,” you stutter.
“Actually,” he sighs and glances behind him. “Now’s not a good time. Can ya-”
“I don’t care about Atsumu,” you cut him off. It sounds like he’s preparing a rejection. Or he just doesn’t want to talk. Neither of which are favorable outcomes, so you barrel through to say what you need to say.
“I don’t care about what he thinks. Not anymore and definitely not that night. I was actually thinking about you the entire time and Atsumu, well, he’s just-”
“Just wait a minute, okay-”
“He just gets under my nerves because of the shit he says and I know he’s just saying stuff to rile me up and I’m a hothead, okay? He gets me because we’re like the same person sometimes, but I’m not doing this to get back at him anymore. It’s actually your fault because-”
“I knew it!” a voice yells from behind Osamu.
You crane your neck to see around Osamu and curse Osamu’s big frame for taking up the entire doorway and blocking your view of the apartment because there is the older twin, grinning widely and walking up to where you’re both standing.
You instantly feel the panic rise in your system.
“Atsumu,” Osamu begins in a warning tone.
Ignoring his brother, Atsumu continues on. “I knew it. I knew the two of ya couldn’t be dating just like that.”
Your nervous system goes into overdrive. Even you know how this looks.
You barged into Osamu’s place randomly at night and picked the time when Atsumu coincidentally is here as well.
Your wide eyes meet Osamu, willing him to believe that you didn’t come to make a scene for Atsumu’s viewing. You didn’t come to confess that you might have a crush on him with this exact timing so that Atsumu would fall for the act.
When Osamu refuses to meet your eyes, it brings your attention back to Atsumu, who continues to gloat about his victory.
Your face burns in mortification as you take slow steps away from the twins, making room for your getaway. As Atsumu gets closer and Osamu continues to avoid your gaze, your courage wanes and the last bit of pride you’re holding onto propels you to turn away instead of retorting as you always do.
“Aww, really let my words get to ya, didn’t ya? I knew all along-”
Before you can start running, Osamu grabs your arm and pulls you into the apartment, the other arm shoving Atsumu out.
“Hey, ‘Samu!”
“Shut the fuck up, ‘Tsumu. Now that my girlfriend’s here to spend the night, get out.” Osamu shuts the door in his face.
Atsumu’s protests fall on deaf ears, the sound of Osamu referring to you as his girlfriend echoing in your mind. He had taken your side, chosen to take the course of action that would embarrass you to least despite not having confirmed what your intentions were. The thought fills you with hope.
He pulls you further into the apartment, sitting you on the barstool. After situating you on the chair, he makes to step out of your personal space, but you lean forward, wrapping your arms around his neck to keep him close. Your eyes start to sting in frustration that Osamu could somehow believe that this was all just another incident you had orchestrated to get back at his brother. This has all gotten so hopelessly messy.
“Osamu,” you sniffle into his neck. “I didn’t come over here and say all that because I knew Atsumu was listening. I just-” missed you.
He rubs soothing circles into your back, gently enough to make you want to cry more because you don’t deserve this but want it so badly.
“You just…?” he prompts.
The words won’t come out and your tears soak into his shirt. You want to tell him so badly that you’re not crying to garner his sympathy; you’re crying because you’re so angry with yourself.
Osamu patiently strokes your back, letting you cry before quietly telling you, “Oh, baby. How long do ya think we’ve known each other? I know yer not the type to set up this whole complicated scenario just to show up my stupid brother. I believe ya.”
His other arm is now holding your head to his neck, fingers running lightly across your scalp. “So can ya finish what you were about to say for me?”
His words and his actions do what they always do to you. They fill you with so much hope that there’s no room to mistaken his intentions. They fill you with the courage to tell him.
“Missed you,” you whisper.
Finally, both of his arms wrap around your back to push you tight into his chest. He squeezes, gentle enough to keep you safe but firm enough to tell you he wants you there. It pulls the confession out of you.
“And I like you so much, Osamu.”
He chuckles lightly into your ear. You can feel the vibrations echo in his chest. When you squeeze back, he trails his arms down to your legs to guide them around his waist. He carries you with ease to the couch and sits you down to cry in his lap.
You don’t know how long the two of you sit like that for, but when you finally calm down, you keep your arms wrapped around him and quietly ask, “why did you do all this for someone like me?”
He stops stroking your hair.
“What, ya don’t like it?”
You pull away to protest, already too comfortable with him spoiling you again, only to find the corner of his lips quirked up in a smirk.
He’s teasing, you realize.
You smack his face weakly and wind your arms back around him.
You snuggle back into his neck but he’s the one who pulls you back this time.
“Hey, seriously though,” he says. “Is this okay?”
You nod shyly.
“I need to hear it, sweetheart.”
“I want it.”
“Alright. C’mere then.”
You oblige.
“Can I tell ya a secret?” he murmurs into your neck.
You nod.
“There isn’t a man out there who’d do all that for someone he doesn’t love, ya know that?”
It makes you flustered, but much of what Osamu does does that to you. His tenderness makes you want to try harder to meet him in the middle.
“Can I do something?” you ask, taking a leap. Your face is incredibly hot and your heart is beating embarrassingly loudly against his. “Is it okay if I kiss you?”
It’s easy when he responds, “You can do anything ya want to me.”
You intend for it to be an innocent peck, your form of an apology. But he holds the back of your neck, the other arm wrapped almost all the way around your torso and doesn’t let go until you’re panting against his open mouth.
He’s nonchalant when he shrugs.
“You can do anything ya want but I’ll be doing the same from now on.”

I was thinking a possible, sleeping in the same bed, as they’d often do, but one morning waking up cuddling, but with Azriel? I'm dying to see him waking up to the reader latched on and having a break through about it. Maybe even the reader waking up and being embarrassed but leading to a confession? 👀
Close to You
Pairing: Azriel x F!Reader
Word Count: ~0,7k
A/N: I hope you enjoy this, I didn't really add a proper confession because it didn't really fit in this moment so I hope that's okay. Thank you so much for sending it in!
It's not often that Azriel sleeps through the night. In fact it's so rare that he's genuinely surprised that the faint rays of the sun shining through his curtains greet him when he opens his eyes, so much so that it takes him a moment to blink the sleepiness out of his eyes and notice that someone was currently curled into him, still sound asleep.
His heart starts racing in his chest when he looks down only to be met with the crown of your head. Your face was pressed against his neck, hidden away from his sight, your slow breaths hitting his skin, chest moving against his. Your arm was draped over his torso and his mirrored yours, keeping each other as close as possible. All he could see, smell and feel was you.
It's not the first or the second time you've shared a bed, he had long since lost count on how many times it had happened for reasons varying from getting only one room at an inn when out on a mission to staying up so late talking that it's easier to just lay down and sleep instead of moving to your own room.
Last night you had fallen asleep in the sitting room when Cassian and Mor's stories had dragged on too long and Azriel ended up bringing you to his room, not wanting to wake you up and fly you down to your house when his bed was always available to you.
He swears he didn't fall asleep so close to you though, and he was also pretty sure that he had tucked you in on the other side of the bed. It seems you had both moved closer in your sleep, seeking each other's warmth, maybe something else.
Azriel was never a huge fan of cuddling, letting someone that close was too hard for him, it felt too intimate, too raw, but that was never the case with you. He had never worried when you hugged him close, or reached for his scarred hand, carded your fingers through his hair with a beautiful smile playing at your lips, even now, when you're hugging each other so close it's hard to see where one ends and the other begins, he felt totally at ease.
The only thing he couldn't understand was the tremble in his chest, and the hesitation when he realized he needed to get up if he wanted to spar with Cassian. He was still trying to understand it when you started stirring, pressing your face even closer to him as a soft whine escaped you.
You were so close that he could feel your eyelashes caressing his skin as you tried to blink the sleep away, and the way your body immediately tenses up when you realize the position you were in, your heart racing as fast as his when you slowly push away from him, his arm tightening around your waist before his mind catches up to what he's doing.
Azriel had always known you were beautiful, exceedingly so, but when you looked up at him, eyes a bit wide and a sheepish smile tugging at your lips, the world seemed to stand still. How did it take him this long to notice?
“I'm sorry,” you whisper, voice still heavy with sleep. You try to move away again, but his arm only brings you closer, your eyes widening as you stare into his.
“What for?”
Azriel swears he could feel the shiver running down your spine when you hear his voice. Cauldron, he had been so blind. He cups your cheek, his thumb caressing your soft skin softly, your hand touching his chest, undoubtedly feeling the way his heart skips as he watches your face.
“For clinging to you,” you murmur. It sounded more like a question, like you expected his reaction to be different and didn't quite know what to do now.
Azriel only offers you a small smile, pulling you in closer and nuzzling into your hair, it widens when he feels your body relax against his, hugging him closer as well. Maybe he should try sleeping in for once, practice wasn't worth crawling out of bed for, certainly not worth not having you in his arms - he was starting to think nothing was.
“I'm the one clinging to you.”

Burning Flames III | Eris Vanserra

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4
Cold.
Darkness.
Water.
Everywhere around you was cold and dark. You were drowning in what felt like an endless pound of icy water.
You needed to get out.
Something ancient whispered in your ear, What do you need?
Fire. You almost screamed underwater. You wanted to pull away the water, to make it disappear. Give me fire.
The darkness around you almost laughed. I shall give you fire, then. It will make you protect and be protected. To heal, and to hurt. To joy, and to fear.
Then, something inside you exploded, and the whole word turned red.
***
"Why would you make Cassian your curtier just for me to be his babysitter?" You asked confused at Rhysand. "A babysitter who has not experience, by the way."
Cassian protested beside you, but Rhysand only grinned amused. "Because, dear Y/n, Queen Vassa had clearly expressed her wishes to deal with you as our human emissary."
That was true. As soon as the war had been over and the meeting had been going on for days, the human queen had approached you and said that she would consider you their human emissary. She had said that Feyre's story about your time of poverty had made her understand you were the right one for the job.
You hadn't complained. If there was a way you could help the Night Court and the human lands than you would do it blindly.
"We'll have fun." grinned wolfish Cassian at your side.
"I have no interest in telling you how to do your work..." Rhysand said casually. "But, if I may suggest, try not to kill Lucien on sight. He is trying to redeem his mistakes."
You rolled your eyes annoyed. It wasn't that you hated Lucien, but it was just that every time you saw him the memories of that day in Hybern come back in your head. How he had stood there doing nothing, for then declaring that your sister was his mate and pretended to be spared alive because of that. And of course the fact that he had left Tamlin hurting both physically and mentally your sister Feyre, without doing anything there too.
"I'll try my best." You gave Rhysand a fake smile before walking toward Mor, who would winnow you and Cassian to the house where Jurian, Vassa and Lucien lived.
As soon as you arrived in front of the house a strong scent of honey and burned wood hit your nose. Lucien must have just arrived, you thought annoyed. Beside you Mor made a face, declaring that she would not come with you but Rhysand would wait you for your return.
You and Cassian shared a curious look, but said nothing, knowing that Mor must had her reasons.
"Do you think she is fine?" you asked Cassian as soon as she vanished.
Cassian gave her a shrug. "She's Mor. She will speak when she feels ready."
You inclined your head slightly to one side confused. "It's not the first time I hear one of you saying 'they'll speak when they are ready', but sometime people need to be asked, you know?"
Cassian gave you a grin before knocking at the door. "Oh, Y/n. When you live centuries like us you start to prefer privacy more than you think. Sometime having few secrets is good."
You were about to answer when the door opened and Lucien looked at the two of you. "I thought I sensed someone else arriving."
It was stronger than you. You couldn't look at his face without seeing the King of Hybern, the cauldron, and your sisters throwed in it. So you just looked away, following Cassian inside the house where the scent grew stronger.
"You just got there?" asked Cassian casually, as if making small talk.
"No." Lucien said tightly as he lead them through the house. "Eris is here."
Every muscle in you almost froze at his words. Suddenly, you weren't so eager to enter the room and do the emissary. Suddenly, you felt too small. But you noticed that Cassian showed no emotions, even though you knew that deep inside he must be boiling with rage, and so you tried to do the same.
You noticed how Cassian's wings sprawled a bit wider, just enough to slightly cover you from any potential harm. And that harm, you guessed, would be the handsome redhaired male seated on a golden chair beside the fireplace. His legs was elegantly crossed, his clothes were far more finer than the ruined fighting leathers you had last seen him in. Everything about him screamed royalty, and your mind pointed out that your should stop staring.
"Cassian." Eris said with his usual arrogant voice, then his eyes shifted on you and even thought you betrayd nothing, something inside you stirred. "Older Archeron."
Your eyes narrowed. Older Archeron? Was he too full of himself that he thought you weren't important enought to acknowledge you? Surely a change from the day you had healed his wounds and he told you to go to him if you ever needed anything.
You felt Lucien's golden eyes studying the interaction between you, but thankfully a sweet, yet firm, voice took your attention. "Thank goddess you came." said Vassa from your left, making your eyes shift on her. "I thought I had to deal with all this testosterone alone."
A grin was quick to appear on your lips as the human Queen hugged you. "I think you would have handled them just fine." When you broke the hug you gave her a quick, respectful bow and Cassian followed you. "Your Majesty."
You heard Jurian scoffing from the sofa. "It only goes to her head when you call her that."
You watched amused as the two humans in the room started backering, and something about Lucien's behaviour told you that they always did that.
"Did you come with news or orders?" asked Lucien to the two of you while he sat on the sofa beside Jurian.
You had to hold a scoff at his tone. Lucien could fool everyone in the Inner Circle that he was on their side because of Elain, but you would never trust him completely. It was clear where his true alliance lay, mated or not mated.
“We give you orders as our emissary.” Cassian nodded to Jurian and Vassa. “But when you are with your friends, we only give suggestions.” Eris snorted, but Cassian ignored him. "How's the Spring Court."
Lucien’s face revealed nothing of how Tamlin and his court fared. “It’s fine.”
This time, you snorted crossing your arms, and to your surprise Eris did the same. You were almost offended that you had shared the same reaction as him.
Cassian turned toward Eris, annoyed. "What are you doing here?"
You were wondering the same, but you didn't dare to voice it, not really sure if it was safe to talk to him at all.
Eris didn’t so much as shift in his seat. “Several dozen of my soldiers were out on patrol in my lands several days ago and have not reported back. We found no sign of battle. Even my hounds couldn’t track them beyond their last known location.”
Cauldron boils you. You had happily forgotten how his voice seemed to pull some invisible strings all over your body, and you had to mentally slap yourself for even think that.
Vassa said, “Eris came to see if I could think of any reason why his soldiers might have gotten into trouble with humans. His hounds detected strange scents at the site of the abduction. Ones that seemed human, but were … odd, somehow.”
"Odd how?" you asked immediately looking at Vassa. If the humans were concerned then it was your job to keep track of what was happening.
"Odd like human but with something else." Eris answered, making your gaze shift on him. You were ashamed about how you had to stop the shiver that run through your spine as your eyes locked with his. "Like you." he sniffed the air to make a point. "High Fae, with something else."
You felt your cheeks getting warmer, and you hated that everyone was there to see it. So, you decided to shift the attention back on the matter at hand. "You mean like...Made? Like Jurian?" You said pointing to the human General with your chin.
"Not Made." Eris shook slightly his head, his eyes never leaving yours, as if you two were the only people in the room. "But something was off. I think plenty of parties are interested in triggering another war, and this would be the start of it. Though perhaps your court did it. I wouldn’t put it past Rhysand to winnow my soldiers away and plant some mysterious scents to throw us off.”
Cassian flashed him a savage grin. “We’re allies, remember?”
You could suddenly breath when Eris' attention shifted on Cassian and gave him an identical smile. “Always.”
Cassian couldn’t stop himself. “Maybe you made your own soldiers vanish, if they even vanished at all, and are just making this up for the same bullshit reason you just spewed out.”
Eris chuckled, and something inside you stirred. How many times had he been accused of being the villain? How many times people had pointed at him? He seemed so used to it, even when it was clear that he was not behind the disappearence of his soldiers.
Jurian cut in, “There have been tensions amongst the humans regarding your kind. But as far as we know, as far as we’ve heard from Lord Graysen’s forces, the humans here have kept to the old demarcation lines, and have no interest in starting trouble.”
Eris uncrossed his legs, and you had to call all your self control to not stare at him. “I suppose this could be to sow tensions amongst us. To make us eye each other with suspicion. Weaken our bonds.”
"Who would do something so bold?" asked Cassian beside you.
There were only one person who still sought revenge, who still hold a grudge so big that would risk a war.
"Briallyn." you said darkly. Images of the day in Hybern flashed before your eyes, and you stared at the blooming fireplace, hoping to wash them away. "She was the one who demanded for me and my sisters to be put in the Cauldron." A shiver run through your spine. "The Cauldron turned her into a crone. I wouldn't put past her to have some kind of weird power."
"Powers like yours?" asked Jurian watching you carefully.
Your eyes slowly rose to meet his, and you gave at the human a ironic smirk. "No power for me anymore." You lied smoothly, as you had done for the past months. You showed your hands in the air, as to make a point. "When the Cauldron was broken my powers left with him. I'm a normal, boring High Fae now."
If they had rose the sleeves of your dress they would have found burned flesh all over your wrists. The only sign that your power still remained in you, needing to be leashed out as you pushed it down everytime. The burnings were its way to warn you that it could not be contained for much longer.
When your sisters had declared that their powers had gone away, you found the perfect excuse to never use it again. It was punishing you, though. But burning up instead of risking to kill someone you care about seemed the right prize.
"Gone, you say?" Eris' inquiring voice made your blood almost froze. He was the only one who had seen you using your power after the Cauldron had been broken. You had been foolish, driven by some internal desire that was only dangerous and wrong.
You met his eyes, and despite the terror you were feeling inside at the thought that he might calling you out, you rose your chin and showed him nothing of that.
"Pity." he said with his velvet voice. "It would have been curious to see what you would be capable of."
His smirk. His damned smirk. He remembered it perfectly, you could see it in his flickering eyes. And now he was toying with you, seeing how far he could push.
"Tell your father he can sleep sweet dreams." I said matching his smirk. "I won't be humiliating him again any time soon."
"I bet he will." murmured Eris while he brought a finger to his lips.
His movements were so casual, so calculated, but at the same time so sensual. Were you the only one who found him attractive in everything he did? You surely hoped not, otherwise you would need Maja to check on you.
“Send that shadowsinger of yours to track Briallyn,” Jurian ordered, his face grave. “If she’s somehow capable of capturing a unit of Fae soldiers, we need to know how. Swiftly.”
Cassian said to Vassa, “You really think Briallyn would do something like this? Be that blatant? Someone has to be trying to fool us into going after her.”
Apparently the other queens had left Briallyn alone, informed Eris, and that excluded the option of winnowing for the queen.
“You wonder who is capable of making a unit of Fae soldiers across the sea vanish? Who could give Briallyn the power to winnow—or do it for her? Who could aid Briallyn so she’d be bold enough to do such a thing? Look to Koschei.” said Vassa darkly.
Something about the name made even the fire going quiet. As Vassa explained thet Koshei was a Death Lord you couldn't stop yourself but thinking about how you could protect Nesta from them. It was clear that Briallyn wanted revenge on your twin, and if she dared to ask to a Death Lord for help then you should prepare better.
You looked over Cassian, a hint of worry flickered in your gazes, and he silently gestured for the two of you to go away and warn Rhys.
"Thank you, Vassa." You said kindly with a quick bow. "We'll return with more informations."
You did to follow Cassian when a voice stopped you. "Wait..." Lucien said tentately. You watched him over your shoulder raising an eyebrow. "How is she?"
You narrowed your eyes and lifted your chin. "How is your precious friend?"
The words found easily their marks and you could see the moment they hit Lucien as if you had slapped him. The point was clear, as long as he devoted himself to the male who sold you and your sisters, you would never spare him the misery of knowing nothing about Elain.
You walked out of that house without saying another word, and saw Cassian waiting for you with a wolvish grin. "Poor Lucien, having you as sister-in-law must be a nightmare."
You rolled your eyes, used to Cassian's teasing. "Elain doesn't want him. He will never be my brother-in-law, thank the Mother."
"Your sister might be the luckiest of the four of you." A warm, luring voice said behind you. "Lucien had always been a good male. Propably better that any of your mates will ever be."
You scoffed turning around and facing Eris. He was leaning casually against the wall of the house with his usual grin on his face. You hated how the moolight made him look like the sort of dreams that must be kept secrets, but mostly you hated how you noticed those kind of things.
"As far as I am corcened only two of my sisters have a mate, and I would choose Rhysand over Lucien anytime." You challenged him crossing your arms.
A shadow crossed his eyes, but he hide it quickly with an amused face. "I see why Rhysand sent you to babysit the new courtier, you are indeed charming." You heard the mock in his voice, and you wanted to talk back, to annoy him as much as he annoyed you, but he spoke to Cassian next. "What do you know?"
"As little as you." offered Cassian, watching him carefully.
Eris sniffed the night breeze, and smiled. "She couldn't be bothered to come inside to say hello?"
You understood immediately that he was talking about Mor, and something inside you twisted. You felt ashamed. Ashamed that after what he had done to Mor, the one who helped you with your new body, with your new home and new life, you couldn't bring yourself to be repulsed by him, as you should have been.
As Eris proceeded to tell about how his father was helping Briallyn and Koshei, about how he didn't want to reveal anything in front of Vassa and Jurian, but still revealed it to you, you tried hard to find the monster that everyone pictured him to be. To find the selfish, horrible male that no one trusted. But the only thing you saw was a heir who wanted his court to be better, to overthrow a cruel father.
But you were young, the people around you had known him for five hundreds years, surely they would know him better than you could ever do.
The fact that under the cold mask you could see a good male meant nothing. You were imagining it. It was his velvet, seductive voice that made you think those things, that made you believe things that weren't real.
“Stick to fighting battles, General. Leave the ruling to those capable of playing the game.” said lastly Eris to Cassian. Did it make you crazy the fact that despite everything you found him amusing? "And, Little Flame?" you eyes snapped up to met his, the pet name made your eyes widing a little for the surprise. "Careful to whom you share your secrets. While secrecy suits you, lies don't."
Then, he vanished.

As the first light of dawn filtered through the windows of the apothecary, you buzzed around, busy with substituting half-way empty jars with new ones full of elixirs and various herbs. The heavy scent of sage hung in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of brewing potions bubbling in the cauldron nestled in the corner. With a flick of your wrist, you lit the candles scattered around the shop, their soft glow casting long but warm shadows around the shop.
Your familiar Sybil, a snow white Borzoi, twitched from her spot under the counter, slightly raising her head in attention. Not a second later, the bell above the door chimed with your first client of the day.
“Well, well, still up with the dawn, I see.” The deep, raspy voice was unmistakable.
Alex stepped into the apothecary with his usual long strides, his dark blonde hair a touch wilder than you remembered.
“And you're still sneaking around at sunrise," you teased lightly. “Here for Farah’s order? I was just about to pour a fresh batch.”
“Yeah,” he replied, as he handed you his usual green thermos for the refill. “She’s been feeling… well, she’s hanging in there. Just a bit more tired lately.”
You hummed knowingly, tightening your apron and moving to get the order ready.
“Have you heard?”
“About?” You replied absentmindedly, focused on getting the exact quantity of steaming liquid into the thermos.
“The new girl that Laswell took in.”
That made you pause and turn to look at him.
Laswell was a witch like you, and a deeply influential one at that. That made her difficult to approach, but even harder to earn her trust. It had taken you a year of back and forth before she allowed you to set up shop in this part of the city. So to say that you were slightly intrigued was an understatement.
“Who now?”
He snorted, stretching over the counter to wriggle his fingers down at Sybil, and who in response raised her large snot to meet them in greeting.
“Apparently a few nights ago Ghost saved this rando girl from the Rose District―”
“What the hell was she doing in the Rose District?”
“Well clearly she’s not from around here.” He retorted, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, which clearly wasn’t. Even people from out of town knew to stay away from that place, especially at night. She was either from another country altogether or really, really, dumb.
“Anyways, he took her to Laswell and she offered her a job on the spot. She even let her settle in the loft above her bar and all.”
“Well, that’s….unexpected? But good for her I guess.”
“But wanna hear the best part?” Shrugging you rang him up, throwing in a few stray herbs in a satin pouch as an extra for his wife.
“She’s magicless, and a total smokeshow.” He was clearly trying to get a rise out of you, and honestly, he was successful. Rolling your cleaning rag tightly, you snapped it against his hand. He yelped in surprise, cradling his hands with mock-indignation.
“Anything else?” He shook his head and dropped the exact amount for the order into the ornate dish you kept beside the register.
“You’re no fun,” he pouted, stashing the flash into his bag before pointing at the satin bag. “What’s this?”
“They should help with Farah’s morning sickness. Just mix them in with her morning tea, a dash of honey will help with the bitterness.”
He gave you a wide boyish grin. “You’re the best, you know that?”
Waving him off and as if telling him ‘oh I know’, you watched him leave with a spring to his step, clearly eager to go back to his wife. You waited for him to disappear from sight, before reaching for your phone in your apron’s pocket.
9:15 am
you: hi
you: everything k? alex told me about the rose district
9:17
👻: 👍🏻
9:18
you: lmk if u need anything
you: btw your order’s ready, you can drop by anytime
you: sybil says hi
(picture attached)
You didn’t get a reply right away, which was strange, but not uncommon for the half-wraith. In the end, he always got back to you. Telling Sybil to stay put and care for the storefront, you moved to the back to organise the rest of the day’s orders.
Once upon a time, Ghost’s go-to place had gone out of business (he had personally taken it down after discovering it was a front for a fairy trafficking ring), and as per Laswell’s recommendations, he had appeared one day to commission you with a list of potions and ingredients, each tailored to his pack’s specific needs. He gave you three days, and you had gone above and beyond to deliver.
You knew you had succeeded in meeting their expectations after he came back the following month with a much bigger and more detailed list in hand. And it was through his monthly visit that you got to know the rest of the pack.
Simon took care of pickups and never stayed long, but long enough to listen to you rant about lousy customers, all while answering to Sybil's demands for pets.
You never got much done with Johnny around, but his charm definitely helped you with sales, especially with the older gnome ladies. The werewolf also played tug with your familiar when the shop became notably busy and you couldn’t take Sybil for her daily walkies.
As the only son of a witch, Kyle liked to help you with just about everything. He especially enjoyed peering over your shoulder whenever you delved into one of your many experiments, smiling like a child whenever you asked for his opinion.
You got to know John last, a human Hunter and their de facto leader. He never dropped by, but whenever you encountered him outside your shop, he never failed to greet you with a warm smile and ever warmer shoulder-squeeze. The older man also was a worrywart to his core, always asking about you and Sybil, as in have you had breakfast/lunch/dinner yet? Did you get your windows insulated for the winter? He can take care of it for you, and oh he got a good bargain on some chicken, let him share some of it with you.
Slowly but surely, they each had wormed itself into your stiff-witchy heart.
10:30
👻: can’t today
👻: sendin’ alejandro
The curt answer made you falter, a mix of disillusion and confusion settling heavily on the pit of your stomach. His lack of response to Sybil's picture was also worrying, that never happened. You struggled not to push him for an explanation.
And so, you waited.
Alejandro made his appearance a few hours later. Again, you left Sybil in charge while you greeted him and his partner, Rudy.
“Preciosa, it’s good to see you.” Alejandro enveloped you in a tight hug and kissed you on the cheek, Rudy following right after.
You returned their greeting just as warmly, guiding them to the back and to the crates stacked neatly and ready for them to take. You watched them work, swaying a little from side to side, before finally mustering up the courage to ask them about Ghost’s unusual absence.
“Is Ghost okay?”
Alejandro grunted as he loaded the crates into the trunk, hand falling over his hips before he turned to regard you with a raised eyebrow. “Yeah he’s fine, por (why)?”
You shoved your hands deep into your apron’s pockets, a nervous habit. “He has never missed a pickup, and he’s not answering my texts.”
“Oh, it’s probably that girl.” He acknowledged dismissively. As if sensing your dismay at Alejandro’s lacklustre response, Rudy chimed in.
“Leah, the new girl working for Laswell.”
Making the most of his receptiveness, you prodded Rudy for more details. “Have you met her?”
He shook his head, tilting his chin towards his partner. “Nope, but Ale has.”
“Well she’s cute, in a mousy kind of way.” He supplied while scratching his chin, and something about his pensive gesture told you that he still hadn't exactly made up his mind about her.
They were quick to leave however, busy with their own things, plus having to drop off the pack’s order. You watched them go, fingers twisting and turning
Yes, hopefully this strange episode would pass.
. . .
Things did not pass, if anything, they only got worrisomely stranger.
A few days later, you found yourself in the supermarket. It was just another part of your routine that you usually enjoyed. You reached for a jar of honey, when you felt it—a shift in the air, a tingle at the back of your neck. Straightening, you allowed your gaze to wander, searching for the source.
And then you saw him.
He stood a few feet away, staring intently at a shelf of cereals. Your heart skipped a beat, not from surprise but from the pleasant flutter you always felt when you saw him. You instinctively moved closer, a full smile already settled on your lips.
“Johnny, hi!”
His head jerked up as if startled, eyes widening when they met yours. For a moment, he looked at you with a strange mix of confusion and surprise, as if he barely recognized you.
“Och aye! Hello there! Whit ye daein' here?"
“Uh, I always shop here on Sundays?” But you know that, you’ve come with me more than once!
"Oh, dae ye no? Well, anyways!” Johnny’s brows furrowed, and he blinked rapidly, like someone waking from a deep sleep. His gaze flickered away from your face and back to the rows of cereal “Whit dae ye think Leah would fancy the most?"
That caught you off guard, so much so that you couldn't give him a rightout answer.
Suddenly, a second figure came from around the corner. It was Gaz. He walked up to the two of you, but something was off.
“Mate, stop running off! We need to get back to—” Gaz blinked at you, as if seeing you for the first time. “Oh, hi?”
“Hi?” You parroted back with an incredulous guffaw.
You just stood there, feeling an unfamiliar and uncomfortable sensation—like the ground beneath you had shifted and you were the only one who noticed. This wasn’t right. Your relationship had always been so easy, and filled with laughter. But now, it was like there was a barrier between you and them, unseen and unsettling.
“Is…everything okay?” You asked them, voice laced with a mix of worry and disbelief.
Gaz looked at you again, but there was no warm recognition in his eyes. “We’re fine,” he said, though his voice was flat. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away, Johnny following him like a shadow, a box of chocolate flavoured loops in hand.
He hated that kind, not even bending whenever Gaz tried to coax him into getting them as a treat.
You watched them disappear down the aisle, dumfounded. The vibrant hum of the grocery store around you flickered slightly as your mind whirled.
Taking a breath, you forced yourself to stay calm. You should head back to the apothecary and Sybil, maybe even check in with Laswell.
She’d know what to do, right? She always did.

Summary: In which, a potion accident leads to Lilia having long hair again.
You coughed and waved your hand, trying to dispel the fumes in the area.
You knew allowing Grim and Lilia to partner up was a bad idea.
Whatever the two had poured into the cauldron caused an explosion of colorful gases, you could hear Silver call out to his father in panic.
“Khee hee~ It’s been a while since I’ve been like this.”
Malleus cleared the area with his magic, and you were faced with the nonchalant laughing fae.
Lilia was safe and sound with no visible wounds, the only difference was his hair. Whereas he had short hair before, now he had long hair, more than he ever had in his long life.
Oh no.
This was bad for you.
It turns out cutting said hair would not be possible. The potion ended up giving Lilia indestructible hair no magic or blade could cut.
Professor Crewel had simply stated the easiest option was to wait until the potion wore out.
Whenever that was.
In the meantime, you watched as Silver’s bird friends and Malleus’ magic worked together to braid said hair.
It reminded you of a certain movie back in your world, ironically enough.
Sebek poked at you, “Human! What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing. Nothing at all!”
Sebek seemed to realize something to your mortification, “Oh! Is it because-”
You slammed your hands over his mouth, “Don’t finish that sentence!”
You and Silver watch as Lilia uses his hair to swing side to side across the room.
His laughter bounced off the walls.
Neither of you were surprised, but it was still an amusing sight nonetheless.
“Sebek told me about your…problem.”
You were going to kill him.
“It’s not a problem. It’s just a me thing.”
“Father would be happy if you told him.”
“He would be insufferable and you know it.”
Silver couldn’t deny that.
“Malleus!”
“Child of Man?”
You ran behind Malleus, taking cover.
“Oh come now~ I just want to talk Dear.”
“Whatever you want to ask, you can ask in front of Mal.”
Lilia pouted, his hair was still long and dragging about. You wondered how it didn’t get dirty.
But then again, you knew Silver who uses soap on his, so was this surprising?
“Lilia, why is YN hiding from you?”
“That’s what I want to know! They’ve been neglecting me~ I want my cuddles but they keep running away.”
Malleus seemed to think Lilia’s words over, and you used this opportunity to try and escape-
“Woah!”
Something wrapped around your wrists and pulled you across into Lilia’s arms.
You stared at the hair binding your hands together.
You’re kidding me-
“Bye Malleus~”
“Wait! No! Malleus-”
“It is better to express yourself rather than keep it in. It was you who taught me that, YN.”
Traitor.
Lilia burst into laughter.
Normally, you would find this cute
You know, if you weren’t tied to your chair.
Bound with layers of hair.
The irony of this didn’t escape you.
“So you ran away because you couldn’t handle how hot I was?”
“…maybe.”
You weren’t going to tell him that General Llilia, during your time in his dreams, still made you hot and bothered.
Nor would you tell him about those dreams with the General, the current Lilia in front of you, and you. Together.
Nope.
Never.
He would have a bigger head than he already does, knowing how weak you are for him.
It was bad enough that Sebek knew how much you simped for his mentor because you needed to confide in someone. Though you kept those thoughts away from him, for both your sakes.
“Khee~ Hee~ You’re so adorable, Beloved.”
Lilia leaned towards you.
“Would you say…I make you speechless?”
The dark crimson of his eyes made you fluster. A flash of an image of him in his groom outfit had you blushing more.
“That’s cheating!”
Lilia chuckled before sitting on your lap, his thighs framing yours and his arms circling your neck.
“I never said I played fair. Besides, I quite adore you like this.”
His fingers trailed up the back of your neck into your hair. His breath mingled with yours, lips barely touching.
“Bound and pretty under me, and all mine to do as I please.”
Your whimpered plea has him finally leaning in, lips pressing against yours.
The way this idea gripped me and never let go as I thought about how hot Lilia is with long hair.
Hope you enjoyed ☺️🫶💚

Ok but perhaps you can please write something about severus having a to take his chubby little one year old daughter to work with him because mom was tired that day? Like just fluff
Title: Hope Eleanor Snape
Warning: Pure fluff
Words Count: 2800+
Masterlist
---
Severus Snape had never imagined himself the type of man to carry a baby through the halls of Hogwarts. Certainly not on a weekday morning, with a class full of inattentive students awaiting his arrival in the dungeons. But here he was, doing just that, the weight of his one-year-old daughter settled comfortably on his hip as her small hand tangled in the collar of his robes.
Hope Eleanor Snape was everything Severus never thought he deserved—soft where he was sharp, light where he was dark. Her chubby cheeks, flushed from a restless night, were pink against the stark black of his robes, and her eyes, a deep, intense black like his own, gazed up at him with an innocent curiosity.
It had been one of those mornings. Y/n, his wife, had been up with Hope for most of the night, soothing the little girl who had stubbornly refused sleep. When the morning sun peeked through the window, Y/n had barely stirred, her exhaustion evident in the deep circles beneath her eyes. Severus had kissed her forehead gently and told her to rest, knowing full well he would have to bring Hope with him to class.
As he strode through the corridors, Hope seemed fascinated by everything around her. The echo of his boots on the stone floors, the soft flutters of a tapestry as they passed, even the flickering of torchlight caught her attention. She babbled, her tiny voice filling the silence of the usually foreboding dungeons, and Severus found himself listening, a faint smile playing on his lips despite himself.
The doors to his classroom loomed ahead, and Severus sighed quietly, preparing himself for what he knew would be an unusual lesson. He adjusted Hope in his arms as she tried to reach for a lock of his hair, her small fingers grasping at the air with determination.
"Let’s see how you handle this, little one," Severus murmured under his breath. He could already predict the scene that awaited him: distracted students, whispers, stares. Not that he cared for their opinions, of course. His concern was that Hope, with her boundless curiosity and penchant for grabbing things she shouldn’t, might cause a disruption he’d struggle to manage.
Pushing open the door with a sharp flick of his wrist, Severus entered the classroom.
It took precisely three seconds for the room to descend into absolute silence. The students, who had been murmuring among themselves as they set up their cauldrons and ingredients, froze in unison, their eyes wide and disbelieving as they took in the sight before them.
There stood their typically dour, imposing Potions Master, dressed in his usual billowing black robes, holding a small, chubby child who was currently sucking on two of her fingers and blinking curiously at the room.
Severus didn’t need to speak to command their attention; the sheer absurdity of the moment had done that for him.
Hope, oblivious to the stunned looks from the students, wriggled slightly in his arms, tugging insistently at his robes as if trying to gain his attention. She was used to being the center of attention, after all—especially from her mother, who doted on her endlessly. And even though Hope loved his daughter with a fierce, protective intensity, he wasn’t as effusive with his affections as Y/n was. It was just his nature, but Hope didn’t seem to mind.
The baby let out a soft coo, her voice high-pitched and cheerful, and Severus felt the eyes of the entire classroom zero in on her. He could practically hear their hearts melting. He sighed.
"As you can see," Severus said in his usual low, silken tone, "My daughter will be joining us today. Your focus, however, will remain on your potions. I will not tolerate any distractions." He let his gaze sweep across the room, daring anyone to challenge him.
But it was a hopeless demand.
The students’ attention was already fixed on Hope, and there was little he could do to break the spell she seemed to cast. Several girls in the front row were exchanging looks of utter adoration, their eyes wide as they took in Hope round cheeks, the way her tiny fists grasped at her father’s robes, her dark curls tousled in an adorably messy way.
"She’s so cute," someone whispered, followed by a chorus of murmurs.
Severus raised an eyebrow, his lips tightening, though he couldn’t bring himself to truly reprimand them. Eleanor was, in fact, a spitting image of her mother, save for the eyes. Those deep, fathomless black eyes that mirrored his own made her seem more serious than any baby had a right to be. But her chubby face, her sweet, infectious smile—those were all Y/n. It was as if the world had taken Y/n’s softness and poured it into Eleanor, creating this little bundle of joy who had quickly become the center of Severus’s universe, even if he was reluctant to admit it openly.
He walked to his desk, settling Hope into a conjured playpen near his chair. She babbled happily as she was placed among her toys—plush creatures that Severus had charmed to move on their own, a small wooden wand Y/n had given her to wave around harmlessly, and her favorite—a stuffed dragon with large, flapping wings.
"Now," Severus said, his voice sharp as ever, "today’s lesson is on the brewing of Draught of Peace. You will follow the instructions precisely, or you will face the consequences."
But even as he spoke, he could feel the collective attention of the students drifting back to Hope. It was impossible not to be captivated by her. She sat happily in her playpen, one pudgy hand holding the dragon’s tail while her other hand reached for her mouth, gnawing on her fingers as she gurgled contentedly.
Severus began to pace the classroom, his usual routine of observing students’ progress, though today his sharp remarks were fewer. He found himself glancing over at Hope more often than he would have liked, just to ensure she was content. She, in turn, occasionally caught his eye and gave him a bright, gummy smile, causing an unexpected warmth to flood his chest.
She really did look so much like Y/n.
As the students measured out their ingredients and stirred their cauldrons, Severus heard more than a few muffled giggles from the back of the room. He turned just in time to see Hope standing up in her playpen, holding onto the side for support as she bounced on her chubby little legs. She was clearly proud of herself, her cheeks flushed with excitement.
"Sit down, Miss Snape," he murmured, almost to himself, and with a wave of his hand, the playpen gently lowered her back onto her bottom. Hope blinked, momentarily confused, before resuming her exploration of the toys.
The class went on, but the students were hopelessly distracted. Severus caught Hermione Granger looking over at Hope at least three times, her hands hovering uncertainly over her cauldron. Even Draco Malfoy, usually so focused on his potion work, had his attention split between stirring his potion and watching Hope as she waved her little wand in the air, making nonsensical motions.
Finally, one student—a Slytherin girl with wide eyes and a nervous smile—raised her hand hesitantly. Severus nodded toward her.
"Professor, uhm, sir, is she always this—um—energetic?" the girl asked, glancing at Hope as she attempted to chew on the stuffed dragon’s wing.
Severus arched an eyebrow, casting a glance at his daughter, who was now gnawing intently on the plush toy, her face scrunched in concentration. She paused only to look up at her father and giggle softly, a sweet, bubbly sound that filled the room.
"She is… persistent," Severus said at last, his voice a touch softer than usual. It was the truth. Hope, much like her mother, had an unyielding spirit. Once she set her mind to something—whether it was staying awake through the night or trying to stand in her playpen—she did it with all the determination a one-year-old could muster.
The students exchanged looks, their smiles widening. Severus knew he had lost their attention completely by this point. And yet, as he glanced at his daughter, now thoroughly entertained by her toys, he found he didn’t mind nearly as much as he thought he would.
The lesson continued, albeit with more focus on Hope than on the potions. Severus moved between the desks, making the necessary corrections to students’ work, though his mind was never far from the playpen by his desk. Every now and then, Hope would let out a delighted squeal, drawing the eyes of every student in the room.
By the end of the lesson, as the students began packing up their materials, Severus returned to his desk. Hope was beginning to tire, her little head bobbing slightly as she fought off sleep. Her dark lashes fluttered as she rubbed at her eyes with a chubby fist, and Severus could see that she was losing the battle.
He bent down, lifting her from the playpen and cradling her against his chest. Hope sighed softly, her thumb finding its way into her mouth as she nestled into the warmth of his robes.
The classroom had fallen silent again, the students watching with wide eyes as their stern, no-nonsense professor gently rocked his daughter in his arms. It was a sight none of them would forget—a rare glimpse of a different side of Severus Snape, one they hadn’t known existed.
"Class dismissed," Severus said quietly, his voice softer than usual. The students filed out, casting one last look at the sleeping baby in his arms before leaving the dungeon.
As the door clicked shut behind them, Severus looked down at Hope. She was fast asleep now, her small hand clutching the front of his robes, her breathing slow and even. He stroked her hair gently, his heart swelling with an unfamiliar warmth.
"You’re too much like your mother," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "And that’s a good thing."
For a moment, standing there in the quiet of the empty classroom, Severus allowed himself to smile. It was a small, fleeting smile, but it was real. And in that moment, with his daughter safe and warm in his arms, the world seemed just a little bit brighter.
With a practiced hand, Severus gathered the lesson plans and potion ingredients, all the while cradling Hope effortlessly in his other arm. It was a strange sensation—this constant awareness of her weight against him, the softness of her small form in his embrace. He hadn’t planned on being a father, hadn’t imagined this life for himself, yet here he was, completely captivated by the little girl who had somehow become the center of his universe.
Gently, he draped his black cloak over her, tucking it around her tiny body to shield her from the chill of the dungeon air. The familiar sweep of his robes trailed behind him as he strode out of the classroom, his footsteps echoing through the empty corridors. The journey back to his quarters was a quiet one, with only the soft rustling of Hope’s breathing to break the silence.
As Severus neared the entrance to their private quarters, he murmured the password under his breath, and the door swung open with a soft creak. The warmth of the room hit him immediately, a sharp contrast to the cool dungeons. The hearth in the corner flickered with a soft, golden glow, and the scent of herbs—Y/n’s doing, no doubt—permeated the space, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Y/n was curled up in one of the armchairs near the fireplace, a book in her lap, though she looked as if she’d only just woken up from a long-needed nap. Her hair was tousled, and she wore a loose sweater that made her look even softer and more serene than usual. As the door closed behind him, she looked up, her eyes immediately softening as she saw Severus standing there with Hope in his arms.
A small smile spread across her face, the kind of smile that made his heart stumble in his chest, though he’d never admit it. "There you are," she said quietly, her voice still tinged with the remnants of sleep. "How did it go?"
Severus crossed the room, moving toward the fireplace as Hope stirred slightly, her little head nuzzling further into his robes. He adjusted his hold on her, cradling her with the kind of tenderness that still surprised him, even now. He lowered himself into the chair opposite Y/n, careful not to jostle Hope too much.
“It was… interesting,” Severus replied, his tone dry, though the corners of his lips quirked ever so slightly.
Y/n raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Interesting, hmm? Do tell.”
Severus leaned back in the chair, one hand still resting protectively on Hope’s back as she dozed. “It seems our daughter has a talent for distracting an entire classroom full of students,” he said, his voice laced with a rare trace of amusement. “No matter how much I tried to focus them on their potions, they were more interested in her antics.”
Y/n let out a soft laugh, her eyes twinkling with warmth. “Well, can you blame them? She’s impossible to ignore.” She set her book aside and rose from her chair, moving over to sit on the armrest of Severus’s chair. She gently brushed a lock of dark hair away from Hope’s forehead, her fingers soft and tender as they moved over her daughter's sleeping face. “She’s always been a bit of a scene-stealer.”
Severus glanced down at Hope, watching the steady rise and fall of her tiny chest. He couldn’t argue with that. Hope had a way of drawing attention without even trying, her innocence and joy a sharp contrast to the darker, more complicated world around her.
"She’s just like you,” Severus said quietly, his voice carrying a depth of emotion that he rarely allowed to surface. “She has your light."
Y/n tilted her head, her gaze softening even more as she looked at him. "And she has your strength," she murmured. "Those eyes of hers—they’re yours, Sev. And that determination? That’s all you."
For a long moment, they sat there in the quiet warmth of the room, the fire crackling softly in the background, casting a golden glow over the scene. Y/n’s hand rested on Severus’s shoulder, her touch grounding him, while Hope’s small form was tucked safely against his chest, her warmth seeping into his very bones.
Severus’s gaze drifted to Y/n, taking in the gentle curve of her smile, the way her eyes crinkled at the corners when she looked at him. He had never imagined himself in this kind of life—never imagined that he could feel this kind of peace, this kind of contentment. But somehow, against all odds, it had found him. She had found him.
After a moment, Y/n stood and moved back to her chair, but her eyes lingered on the scene in front of her—Severus Snape, the man who had once been so distant and untouchable, cradling their daughter with all the tenderness in the world. The sight filled her with a quiet sense of joy, one that she had never quite expected, but was grateful for every day.
“So,” she said softly, settling back into her chair, “do you think you’ll bring her to class again?”
Severus raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching in something that resembled a smirk. “Perhaps,” he said. “But I’d prefer not to lose control of my classroom every time she decides to babble at them.”
Y/n chuckled, the sound light and musical. “I’m sure they were all enchanted by her. You know she has that effect on people.”
Severus hummed in agreement, his fingers absently tracing small circles on Hope’s back as she shifted slightly in his arms, her tiny hand clutching at his robe. “She certainly does,” he admitted quietly.
For a while, they sat in comfortable silence, the fire crackling softly and casting flickering shadows across the room. Hope remained blissfully unaware of the world around her, tucked securely in her father’s embrace, her tiny breaths filling the space with a sense of peace.
Y/n’s gaze softened as she watched them, her heart swelling with love for the two people who had become her entire world. She reached over, her fingers brushing against Severus’s hand. “You’re a good father, you know,” she whispered, her voice filled with quiet sincerity.
Severus didn’t respond immediately, his eyes focused on the sleeping form of his daughter. But after a moment, he squeezed Y/n’s hand gently, his voice barely above a whisper as he replied, “Only because of you.”
And in that moment, as the fire crackled softly in the hearth and the world outside seemed so far away, Severus Snape allowed himself to believe that perhaps, just perhaps, he was deserving of the happiness he had found. Because here, in this quiet corner of Hogwarts, with his wife beside him and his daughter safe in his arms, he had everything he had ever wanted but never thought he could have.

Who Do You Smell? (Sebastian Sallow x Reader)
Summary: Sebastian Sallow has had a crush on Y/N for a while now, this isn't news to him but when a strong batch of amortentia is made for potions class it is hard to keep his mind clear of anything that isn't about you and what he wants to do to you.
Warning: contains mild smut as this is about Sebastian's fantasies while in class.
Rushed footsteps trekked along the cobblestone hallways of Hogwarts, echoing into excessive sounds of pitter-patter and endless conversations.
“We have an exam…TODAY?!”
“Did you hear about what happened in Hogsmeade yesterday?”
“You’ll never guess who I saw Poppy Sweeting with!”
Countless students made almost a sea of cloaks as they tried to make it to their next class on time without any pestering ghosts or moving stairs to slow them down. It was almost daunting to try and part the waves of children and teens, Sebastian thought. It was so daunting that he couldn’t help but at least acknowledge the nagging pit of a feeling that told him he would be better off droning away in the undercroft for an hour or two. Alas, Headmaster Black had already warned him that if he missed one more lesson there would be worse things than detention waiting for him.
How dramatic.
The Slytherin made his way to class nonetheless, not due to the threats of expulsion but rather the company that awaited him. If he had ditched, Ominis would give him a terrible earful no doubt, which would be a shame as that would get in the way of all the other trouble their little group could find themselves in. There was also the issue of leaving his potion’s partner, Y/N alone. How could he leave her all by her lonesome? After all, who would give her quippy one-liners to help pass the time in that dreary class? Gareth Weasley? The thought alone almost made him laugh.
His feet paused, finding himself now in front of the open door to the potions classroom. He always needed a moment before trudging into the smoke-filled haze of a room. It was always hotter than the other classes, almost on par with the humidity that suffocated him in herbology. Deep in the classroom, he could already spot his partner despite the slight fog between them. She was talking to Ominis, who sat at the desks in front of them. Her cloak was off, he noted, thrown to the opposite side of their table like a forgotten rag. He took in the sight of her leaning against the table to whisper something into his friend's ear. Her long sleeves rolled up to help combat against the heat that radiated from the cauldron centered on their table.
This is why I come to this class.
“Sebastian! There you are!” Y/N said as she looked up to see him still standing in the hallway. She waved him over with a warm smile still plastered on her lips, a smile she always had reserved for him…at least he’d like to think so.
“Just in time too.” Ominis commented, his tone comparable to a mother.
“Yes, yes, hold your applause.” Sebastian playfully replied as he took his seat next to Y/N, his tower of books hitting the hardwood of the table with a thud. She rolled her eyes at him but the smile didn’t fade away from her lips. It was a look he knew all too well, in fact, he looked forward to it. What could he say to make her roll her eyes in the back of her head? What comment could his mind come up with to make her so facetious? It was a fun game of his, one where he had to carefully walk the line if he wanted to keep her beautiful smile in his sight.
“Sit down, class is about to start.” Professor Sharp announced with a deadpan. He walked in front of his desk, leaning on the stable wood as he stared into the classroom, noting who was present or not. To his surprise Sebastian sat with a smug grin next to Y/N, even giving the professor a little wave, as if he knew he was shocked to see him. He wasn’t amused by the notion, but kept on with the class, not wanting to give him any more attention to his childish antics.
“Would anyone like to explain to me why they might think this month might be one of the most dangerous months of the year?” Sharp asked as he studied the fifth-year’s expressions of puzzlement.
Sebastian raised his eyebrow at the question. Dangerous? What could make February more dangerous than any other month of the year?
He looked over at Y/N, confusion all over his face, hoping to get insight from her. She’s only faced more danger than anyone else in the room besides perhaps the professor himself. If anyone would know, surely it would be her.
She simply met his expression with a quizzical look of her own, shrugging her shoulders stiff, not a single thought to the question. He quickly looked in front to see Ominis, hopefully, he might know instead then. His best friend had his eyes closed and arms crossed as if he was in deep thought….or in a deep sleep. Whatever the case was it was obvious he too was left in the dark like the rest of the class.
Being so deep in thought Sebastian hadn’t realized the sweat that started to form on his brow. The heat in this room got to him a little earlier than he expedited it to. It was almost suffocating and he had only been here for a couple of minutes.
“Nobody? Not a single soul has one idea as to why,” Sharp continued to ask, hoping for someone to at least try and spit out a wrong answer. However, only the sound of bubbling cauldrons and burning crackles from the flames answered him back.
“Amortentia,” the professor simply let out a heavy sigh that oozed with disappointment as he pushed himself off his desk to make his way around the class. Sebastian mentally facepalmed
Of course, February! Valentine's Day was in this blasted month.
“I only teach this potion with its antidote. So don’t get funny ideas for next week,” Sharp warned his students, pointing at every student in his room. “Every year a handful of you try to use a love potion on some sorry soul and every year they get in trouble. So you will know what's good for you if you have any sense.” He added before going into more detail about the potion itself.
He talked about how it was formed…the ingredients they would need…the order to brew. Sebastian heard the words.
Truly.
But as Sharp’s lecture rang on in the background Sebastian’s eyes wandered to his left. Y/N sat there looking up at their professor with half-closed eyelids, her long lashes hanging over her beautiful eyes. She rested her head on her closed fist, her body slightly turned to face Sebastian though her attention still faced Sharp. She thoughtlessly played with her hair, her expression almost dreamy as if she was openly lost in her mind. The air started to feel heavier with the murky haze that filled the room the longer he looked at her. He pulled at his collar as he noticed a dollop of sweat sliding down from Y/N’s collarbone into her blouse. Her cleavage taunting him.
The heat of the room practically boiling in him now with such an image of her.
“I’m bloody hot, are you?” Y/N asked in a hushed whisper as she attempted to fan herself, she glanced at Sebastion when she noted his stare.
“I always am..” He responded without hesitation.
Y/N rolled her eyes again as she had before class started, playful and casual. He wondered what she would look like if he was able to roll her eyes for a different reason. He imagined her leaning over their shared desk looking more disheveled than appropriate. Her pretty eyes rolling in the back of her head as she lets out a deep moan, her lips still forming a devious smile. The thought makes him feel a twitch below his belt as he realizes a small ache had been forming the instant he saw her today.
Sebastian had always had a crush on Y/N, this wasn’t exactly something new to him. There had been plenty of times he worked himself over just by looking at you. Though he would like to think that he would build himself over the entire day… definitely not in just 5 minutes.
“As you line up to smell the Amortentia in the cauldron on my desk you may notice the…. effects…of the potion. Once you leave the classroom they will subside since you haven’t drank the potion. This stuff is so strong, the smell alone can affect you.” Sharp informed the class.
Of course, the potion.
Sebastian awkwardly coughed as he stood up, thankful for his cloak. He was sure every boy in the class must be praising the heavy fabric if the potion was as strong as the professor said. Y/N, Sebastian, and Ominis made their way in line to smell the concoction, waiting their turn. Sebastian noticed that while a couple of people mentioned what they smelled, there were a few who kept that information to themselves. He wondered what it was that made them so quiet. Either way, the damned thing smelt different to each person for some reason. Wasn’t it just meant to make you fall in love with someone? If only he would have been able to pay attention to what Sharp had been saying but he had been a tad distracted by his partner.
Speaking of which, Y/N was the first of the little trio to stand in front of the rather old-looking cauldron. She closed her eyes as she let her hands help waft the smoke toward her. As she took a deep breath in, her eyes shot open as if she had recognized the smell almost instantly.
“What is it? What do you smell?” Sebastian asked with curiosity oozing from his voice.
“I smell…old books, burning candles, and butterbeer.” She said softly as she glanced at the two boys, a blush creeping up her ears as her eyes met Sebastian.
“How quaint.” Ominis commented through a grin as if he knew precisely who smelt like such a strange combination.
Sebastian didn’t think that could be the smell of love though he didn’t exactly know what he would say the scent of love would be like but definitely not old books. Perhaps floral like roses or sweet like cherries? Love in a bottle had to be stereotypical, it made the most sense to him.
Sebastian stepped up, pulling the lid up and letting the fumes wash over him. The mist of the potion overcame him as if he had just walked into a sauna. He felt an urge tingle from the tips of his toes to the very ends of his hair. A rush so strong in his body he could practically count his pulse from the zealous beats his heart made, throbbing in what felt like his throat.
Her.
He could only smell her.
He gulped trying to breathe in anything that wasn’t this potion's musk. The smell was sweet and heavy just like how he thought but it was more than he could handle. He could sink in the delight of it all as if he could be happily drowned in it. He imagined that this would be the very smell that could suffocate him while he was on his knees between your legs.
“Heaven” he blurted out carelessly as the thought of eating you out filled his mind.
“Very descriptive,” Ominis replied, helping Sebastian to get out of his head and back into reality.
“My thoughts exactly. What does heaven even smell like? That could be anything” Y/N asked with a furrowed brow.
Sebastian paused, trying to put into words what the woman in front of him smelt like. It was hard to put into words. The smell was more like flashes of constant memories that reminded him of Y/N rather than what she smelt like every day.
He could smell the rain, the petrichor that radiates from the grass; the image of you running in the storm with him, white blouse drenched and clinging to your chest, raindrops dripping from your hair, the sound of your laughter. What a day that had been, so carefree, so full of joy for just being in the mommet. He kept that memory close to him; a loop he would play when his thoughts went to dark and dreary places.
In the next instant, he could smell the scorch marks from flames nipping at the cobblestone in the undercroft. The heavy smoke poisoned his lungs and filled his mind with such intoxication over the past. The day he had taught you confringo lingering in the back of his mind.
It had been one of the first times he had gotten close to you.
The memory of being pressed against your back, Sebastian’s face mere inches from your soft hair-your locks tickling the tip of his nose. His hand had been wrapped around your wrist as he helped with your wand movements. You had looked at him so innocently then, putting all your faith in him even though you had barely known each other. He could still see the small smudge of soot smudged on your cheek and the way you looked up at him with such big eyes for guidance.
The memory had only gotten sweeter like wine after seeing you master his spell. Seeing you cast it with ease, power, and confidence; that alone would always send shivers down his spine amid battle. He would always be a part of you when you cast that spell…forever.
The smell warped into something else entirely, putting him off guard until he was able to realize the mystery aroma was incense: warm, woody, and thick. It was the same kind that Professor Onai used in her classroom the day she taught palmistry. He had held your hands that day, his large hands engulfing yours in warmth. It had been the perfect excuse to touch you then, so freely and openly with everyone watching. His fingers brushed against your skin softly, his touch could barely be described as a graze but the tension was more than palpable. He had read your palm that day, hoping he could see himself in your loveline. He believes that he did. Even if he didn’t he would find a way to change it to make it so.
“Well, it's certainly not butterbeer,” Sebastian finally responded, putting himself back in the present.
Y/N blushed, flustered by the comment before whacking him on his shoulder. “I should have never told you,” she responded in a huff, making her way back to their desk.
Sebastian followed, chuckling at her reaction but also thankful he was able to avoid having to explain what heaven smells like.
“Does anyone want to know what it smells like to me?” Ominis asked himself as he stood in front of the cauldron alone; the sarcasm and annoyance drowning his words as he found his way back to his desk. Professor Sharp stood before the classroom, waiting for everyone to get their bearings again.
“It seems like some of you are rather open to telling everyone what you find most attractive…that or just the smell of the person you seem to find yourself in a new entanglement in with this week..how brave of you,” Sharp commented with what must be his attempt at an amused grin before going back to his solemn state.
Sebastian glanced at Y/N, wondering who it was for her. Who smelt like old books and could still have her head over heels for them? She had never even brought up liking a person before. His hands formed into fists on the desk, images flashing of someone else being with her the way he daydreamed. He couldn’t even bear the thought and had to quickly stop before he lost himself.
He heard Professor Sharp go into further detail about the potion before teaching how to make the antidote for amortentia. At least that was as much as Sebastian could recall, he knows that was the subject but simply couldn’t tell you how to make the damned thing. His attention was more on you than the class itself. He needed to get out of this classroom and fast before he reached his limits. Even with the cauldron covered the smell seeped and filled the classroom, working its magic on everyone in it. He couldn’t even imagine how he would be if he actually drank it. He understands why people who had been under its effects would practically throw themselves at the person in question now.
You sat there a complete tease and were none the wiser. The way you grabbed onto your skirt from your thigh, hiking up the fabric higher than it was before. He wanted nothing more than to put his hand under the hem and pull it up high until he got a good view of you bent over this very desk. He wanted to push you against the hardwood and pull your hair. He wanted to devour you in front of everyone, to lose himself in you and all that was good. Sebastian loosened his tie, the small material barely knotted as he tried to control his breath.
“That’s all there is to teach. By the end of class, I expect two adequate potions…the Amortentia and the cure from each table. You may begin.” Sharp directed as he made his way to his desk in the back of the room.
There was a wave of silence that crashed over the classroom as the students side-eyed each other. It would seem that no one had paid attention to Sharp’s well-planned and eloquent lecture on brewing love potions. The professor didn’t seem to give it any mind though, he was too involved with whatever he was writing. Sebastian couldn’t imagine that the man was clueless about the tension in the room though. Perhaps he was secretly amused that this situation of all things was the only way he was able to make the classroom stunned with silence.
“Would you be upset with me if I told you, I have no idea how to brew this potion,” Sebastian decided to tell Y/N outright. There was no point in pretending; she would see through him anyways if he tried.
She suppressed a chuckle in response as she stood up and pointed him in the direction of the board. “Not at all. Luckily for us, the instructions are on the board. Come on, let's get the ingredients.” She explained as she stood up and waved him over to follow her. He leaped out of his seat, quick and careless, almost like he was a dog who was taunted by the prospect of a treat. Thoughts of being alone with Y/N in the supply closet made his heart race to deadly rhythms and his palms slightly sweaty. He couldn’t help but let his imagination run wild with fantasies of what could transpire in such a small enclosed space.
The thought of your soft thighs wrapped around his waist while he got to have handfuls of your ass to keep you steady. Messy, hungry kisses that vibrated with moans. Your hands tussled in his hair or roaming up and down his chest. He could feel himself twitch every time he imagined you bouncing up and down against him, grinding him into pure bliss.
Merlin. Could he handle himself with such a temptation of being with you in such a place?
Each step he took across the classroom felt like an eternity, his body growing with anticipation that coursed through his veins like wildfire. His eyes were glued to the sway of your hips as you led the way.
When they finally reached the door, Sebastian fumbled with the handle, hands almost shaking as his mind was still lost in the realm of his fantasies. He could practically hear you screaming his name at this moment. The sound looped over and over again in his head, short-circuiting his brain until he was able to hear a click. The door creaked open, revealing a small, dimly lit space filled with shelves of potions ingredients, and other various supplies.
Sebastian stepped in behind you, trying to contain his desires while his body betrayed him, buzzing in hopeful anticipation of even just being grazed by you. A single touch would be enough to end his suffering at this point. The air felt heavy with scents of herbs that mixed in wonderfully with the smell of you, further fueling his senses.
“So…heaven you said.” Y/N awkwardly commented as she began to gather the required ingredients. Pulled out of his wicked daydreams Sebastian glanced at you with a raised eyebrow. “That is indeed what I said.”
“Are you ever going to elaborate on that?”
Sebastian stared at the shelves, trying to look lost. Shifting his weight back and forth as his hands skimmed the ingredients that were laid out in front of him. “Why so curious?”
“Well, I told you mine… it's only fair.”
“Have I ever been known to be fair?” Sebastian asked as he paused and looked down at you. You looked up at him sweetly, eyes big and bright, cheeks flushed, lips slightly apart. A tempting beautiful picture. He gulped down the need to jump you right then and there. A sad excuse for keeping his gentlemanly composure.
“Are you going to make me beg?” she asked softly.
Sebastian almost fainted. You? Begging him? Suddenly the thought of you on your knees in front of him flashed through his mind. He wondered just how he could make you beg. What filthy pleas could be heard from your lips? How desperate could you be for him? Was it anything like how he was for you now? He got lost in your beautiful eyes as he wondered.
“Would you beg for me?” his voice barely above a whisper as he asked her.
Y/N’s eyes grew wide, her cheeks turning into a deep shade of crimson. Sebastian watched as she stood there a mixture of what looked like mortification and vulnerability washing over her. As Sebastian took a step closer to her he saw how her blush intensified. Spreading like a delicate watercolor painting, the color seeped from her cheeks and extended to the tips of her ears…even down below under her blouse. He wondered how far her blush went.
“D-Don’t play with me, Sebastian,” Y/N replied as she tried to regain her composure. She faced the shelves once more, letting her hands touch anything that was in front of her.
“I would never.” He tried to follow her actions, hoping she didn’t notice how the last minute of their interaction would be the start of his dreams for the next month.
She scoffed at his response. “I know you’re just trying to deflect from the question. Why so secretive? Do you have a crush on someone and are just too embarrassed by it? You know I wouldn’t tell a soul.” she rambled as she picked up a mysterious vial. She looked at it as if she was more interested in the contents inside of it than the conversation but Sebastian could see through her act.
“Crush? I’m afraid it's gotten far past that.” Sebastian replied, freezing Y/N in her tracts if only for a moment. She placed the vial back in its rightful spot before reaching for another random object, much like Sebastian did in hopes of keeping him grounded in the situation. How far should he push this? Should he let the smell of this damned potion, the bottled intoxication of the girl in front of him, break down any walls he had built up in hopes that she would never know he was madly in love with her?
Their hands brushed against each other, sending a shock down to his toes that made the hair on the back of his neck stand up. The innocent act that was nothing but a soft caress, fanned the flames that were in him to dangerous heights, his yearning for her unbearable
“She’s bewitched me. Hexed me even…I’m sure of it.” He continued to say as he looked down at her. His hand frozen in his place against hers. If he moved now, there would be no grace in his actions. It was his last attempt at trying to keep himself composed.
He heard Y/N’s breath hitch in her throat.
“Do you really want to know?” He asked, giving her an escape but hoping she wouldn’t take it. She only nodded her head in response, unable to speak from the tension that’s now bubbled over in the small closet they were in.
“I smell the rain,” He began to say as he turned to face her.
“I smell fire” He took a step towards Y/N, closing the small gap.
“I smell incense.” His hands intertangled in yours, as he took a step forward, forcing you against the door, making sure no one could interrupt them. Your hands were well above you now as his fists pinned you in place.
“I smell you,” it barely came out as a whisper against the nape of your neck. “It’s all I can smell, even now. It suffocates me. Taunting me with ideas,” he continued, his voice low and dark. “Would you let me do those things to you?” He asked, moving his gaze so he could look at Y/N.
She looked like every fantasy he ever had of her. Under him, panting, wide-eyed, and flushed. He would keep this memory close to him, he knew instantly. Keep this image of her as nothing more than a self-indulgent treat for every night before he went to sleep.
“Is this when I should beg Seb?” Y/N let out in a single heavy breath.
He let out a groan at the sound of her nickname for him, his head falling to her shoulder so he could melt into her.
Fuck
Just hearing her say his name like that made his situation feel painful, making him harder than he ever had been in his entire life. He was scared to find out what would come of himself if he didn’t find a release soon.
“Do I have to beg to get my ingredients?” Ominis could be heard as he pounded on the door causing both Sebastian and Y/N to jump to the opposite side of the closet. Their friend walked into the small room, happy to be blind for once so that he didn’t have to see the sorry state the two were in.
“Congratulations on finding out you two are in fact in love with each other. The rest of the school has been waiting.” Ominis stated with annoyance. “Now can you grab me the things I need?”

——
The Winter Ball was quickly approaching, and students became more antsy as time went on. It was Tuesday, and the ball was scheduled for Saturday night. Almost no one could pay attention in their their classes this week.
You were in Potions, your favorite class of the day. The table groups were hard at work preparing ingredients to make an invisibility potion. Your job was to chop up the knotgrass, and your other table mates collected the remaining ingredients.
The tedious task of mincing up the knotgrass allowed your mind to wander. The past month with Fred had been quite memorable, and your thoughts were overtaken by images of him.
Fred had caught you on your Wednesday night prefect rounds, pulling you into an abandoned classroom. It took only seconds for his lips to crash into yours as he pushed you against the closed door of the room.
He pulled your robes off of your shoulders, tossing them onto a nearby desk. The corner of his mouth tilted up in a smirk, and you knew that you were in for it.
Fred took your hand, bringing you to the front of the room by the professor's desk. He kissed you one more time before gripping you by the hips and bending you over the desk.
"Can you see it now, birdie?" he asked, leaning down over you to talk into your ear. "When you're a professor, I can bend you over your desk anytime."
His hand ran up the back of your thigh, causing your whole body to erupt in a shiver. It took only moments for him to undo his belt and pull up your skirt.
Fred was thrusting into you, causing a whimper to fall from your lips. "Shhhh, little bird. Wouldn't want anyone to hear you, huh?" Fred whispered, gripping your waist with his hands.
You bit your lip, trying to keep any sounds from escaping. Fred grabbed at your hair, pulling it as he fucked you over the desk.
You could feel your climax begin to grow, and you pushed your hips back into Fred to meet his pace. A choked groan came from your throat, and Fred reached around to put his hand over your mouth.
"Now what did I say, darling?" he scolded, increasing his pace even more. "Are you really so desperate for all of Hogwarts to hear you scream my name?"
Your hands gripped the edges of the desk, holding on for dear life. Fred could have simply cast a silencing charm, but where was the fun in that?
You were moments your orgasm, pinching your lips together to keep silent. Fred knew exactly what he was doing to you, and it was torturous. You were determined to hold it together until his thumb found your clit, marking your downfall.
"Anyone home?" Cedric asked, waving a hand in front of your face. You jolted out of your thoughts, embarrassed to be caught daydreaming. Your cheeks immediately turned a vibrant shade of red.
Cedric chuckled. "It's alright, no one can focus with the Winter Ball happening this week. Even Cho is distracted," he said, trying to reassure you. "Are you still going with Fred?"
You nodded. You had been looking forward to going to the ball with Fred. Ever since the Hufflepuff party and the initial shock to Hogwarts of your relationship, things had been pretty tame. It wasn't the explosion of gossip like you had been expecting.
Cedric pushed back his stool, getting up to peer over into the cauldron. The water was ready, all you needed was to add in the ingredients correctly.
"I might need to memorize how to make this for when I make Cho angry," Cedric joked, looking over at you.
You chuckled, nodding your head in agreement. You knew her temper all too well. "I'm sure the twins will be picking my brain about the recipe. Godric knows what they would get up to with invisibility potions," you replied, measuring out the knotgrass.
"So do you get to know the plans for the pranks beforehand now that you're with Fred?" Cedric asked, stirring the cauldron.
"Not usually," you answered. "My policy with them is that the less I know about the trouble they get into, the better. I'm not afraid to take away House points when necessary, but I don't want to do it when it's the twins."
"I can't imagine how strange it must be to be a prefect dating the biggest troublemaker at Hogwarts, seems like a conflict of interest," Cedric commented playfully, raising his eyebrows at you. "But it seems like you two get on quite well despite your differences."
You titled your head in consideration. You hadn't thought about the 'conflict of interest' aspect, but who cares? You aren't the only prefect at the school. Someone else can shout at the twins for their misbehaviors.
"Our differences keep things interesting," you said. "If Fred dated someone exactly like him, this school would go up in flames. Someone has to keep him in line."
You and Cedric chuckled, beginning to add ingredients into the cauldron. You felt a flutter of pride in your chest at the fact that Cedric picked up on how well you and Fred worked as a couple. You didn't worry yourself with the approval of others, but it was nice to hear it regardless.
——
You plopped your backpack onto the floor, joining Fred on the couch in the Gryffindor common room. It had become routine for you to visit Fred in the evenings after you finished your homework in the library. He was usually in the common room with his twin playing cards or planning their next prank.
"I heard that you made invisibility potions today," George commented from his place across the room. He was playing cards with Angelina and Lee.
"So what if we did?" you retorted. The advanced Potions class you were in had the opportunity to create more exciting potions that other students weren't allowed to. The invisibility potions were one of the recipes that was not taught to students outside of the class.
"I know a couple of people that could use some of those," Fred chimed in, slinging his arm around your shoulders on the couch.
"Would those people have red hair? Because I've heard that invisibility potions don't work on red heads," you replied, cocking a brow at Fred.
"You might be smart, but you're full of shit," George said, calling your bluff.
You picked up a pillow from the couch and chucked it at him. He caught it with one hand right before it would have smacked him in the face.
"You seem to forget that Fred and I have quidditch reflexes," George said, eyeing his brother mischievously.
"Now!" Fred shouted, picking up another pillow from the couch. He began smacking you with it, and George got up from playing cards to join him. You laughed as the twins continued to hit you with the pillows, a completely harmless attack.
"Do you feel better now?" you asked between giggles. Being with Fred meant that you also began to spend more time with George. You had grown to adore Fred's twin, and it felt like he was your own brother. No one could make you laugh quite like the twins.
"Only a tad," Fred answered, taking the pillow from George so he could return to his card game. "Want to come up to my room?"
Fred tossed the pillows back onto the couch and offered you his hand. You smirked, taking his hand and standing up onto your feet.
George made kissing noises at the two of you, turning around in his chair and wrapping his arms around himself to simulate a make out. This earned a giggle from you.
"There's something called knocking, you git," Fred said to his brother, trying to hide his smile.
"There's also something called a silencing charm, you freak," George replied, now moaning in an attempt to imitate Fred and you.
Your hand flew up to your mouth to try to stifle your laugh. George had a point. For some reason, Fred didn't like using silencing charms. He would prefer for everyone to hear the sounds that you made.
Fred simply yanked your hand and dragged you up the stairs, huffing at his brother. He opened the door to his dormitory, motioning for you to enter.
You had become a regular visitor to his dorm, and he even let you borrow pajamas when you stayed over. Fred crossed to his dresser, pulling off his uniform and putting on a t shirt and pajama bottoms instead. He tossed a large jumper at you.
"Would you like to stay tonight?" he asked, making his way to sit on his bed.
You held the jumper in your hands, weighing your options. You could either stay the night with Fred and risk being tired tomorrow, or sleep in your own room and miss out on this precious time with Fred. Your busy schedule meant that you didn't have much time alone together.
"I'm not sure yet," you replied honestly, beginning to take off your own uniform to put on the jumper. "You'll have me all weekend, so I should probably focus on studying and finishing assignments before the craziness of the ball."
Fred watched you, passively admiring your curves as you changed in the dim light of his dorm. He had seen you naked quite a few times by this point, but he still found himself star struck whenever you so much as showed an extra inch of skin.
You finished changing, pulling the jumper on over just your knickers. It was long enough that it landed at your mid thigh, and Fred loved how you looked in his clothes. You knew that he was itching to get his hands on you.
"You could take a break from studying for a week," Fred said, settling onto his bed as he watched you. "New potions aren't going to invent themselves overnight. You can pick it up again next week."
You crossed the room to join Fred in his bed. You wrapped your arms around him, pressing your face into his chest as you cuddled up to him. He held you, stroking your back as you took a deep breath.
"I know, I just really want to get into an Upper School. My exams for the Potions programs are in January, there isn't much time left," you said, still squeezing him tight. You had really been feeling the pressure of your upcoming exams, and Fred knew it.
He tangled his fingers through your hair, kissing you on the head as he played with the long strands. Fred always knew how to put you at ease.
"You never talk about your plans after Hogwarts," you stated, moving to prop your chin on his chest so you could look at him.
"That's because I'm not sure that I have any yet," he said, shrugging. His parents had been breathing down his neck about this, so the topic of future plans felt pretty sore.
"They don't have to be perfect plans," you replied, reaching up to run your thumb along his jaw. "If you could do anything in the world, what would it be? No matter how outlandish. I'll tell you my fantasy future."
"You go first," he said, leaning into your touch.
"If I could do anything, I would start a new wizarding school. It would have houses, but it would be nothing like Hogwarts. We would study Potions and Herbology, and instead of playing Quidditch students would compete in Wizard's Chess tournaments. It sounds dorky and there's really no need for another school, but I think it would be fun to create something like that," you said, rambling on. "What about you?"
Fred let out a breath. "George and I want to run our own joke shop. We could sell our creations and show other people how to pull pranks. It would never be successful, but George and I would love doing it."
You pushed yourself up onto your elbows, looking into his eyes. "Freddie, that sounds amazing! You and George would be cracking at that, all of the students here would love to buy your joke items," you said excitedly, a smile on your face.
"Really?" Fred asked, his own smile starting to form.
"Really," you replied. "There's no one better than you two to open a shop like that. And you're both great at convincing people to do things, I'm sure those skills would translate well into sales."
"George and I have been dreaming about it for years. It's something that we would never get bored of," Fred said. "I've never told anyone about it before. Except for George, of course."
"I'm happy that you told me," you said, giving him a kiss on the lips. "You know that I believe in you. I would happily be your first customer."
"Just because you're pretty doesn't mean that you'd get a discount," Fred teased, tickling your side.
You grabbed at his hand to stop the tickling, laughing at him. "Oh yeah? I'm sure I could find other ways to get a discount," you teased back, running your other hand up his chest.
"Maybe you should give a demonstration," Fred replied, smirking at you as he grabbed your hips and placed you on top of him.
——
It was finally Friday, and everyone was buzzing about the ball tomorrow night. You had managed to make it through the rest of the week without too many distractions, and you were caught up enough on homework that you could give Fred your undivided attention this weekend.
You were eating dinner with your friends, tucking into your dessert chatting about the ball. Beatrice had been rambling on about her dress even though she had already showed it to you several times.
"It's the perfect shade for my skin tone," Beatrice said. "Oliver won't be able to keep his hands off of me."
"We get it, Bea, we've seen your dress about 100 times," Cho said, taking another bite of her pudding.
"But with my makeup and hair done, it'll look completely different," Bea said, looking for a reason to continue talking about her dress.
You were excited about your own dress. It was a maroon color with a frilly skirt. It was relatively simple, but it still made you feel beautiful. You couldn't wait for Fred to see it.
A paper butterfly floated its way over to your table, landing neatly next to your plate. You and your friends looked at each other in confusion for a moment until you picked it up and unfolded it.
Meet me in my dorm after dinner.
You knew it was from Fred. You looked up, scanning the faces of the other students in the hopes of finding Fred. You were unsuccessful, and instead folded up the note and put it into the pocket of your robes.
"What's that about?" Bea asked, propping her elbows on the table as she looked at you.
"Fred wants me to meet him after dinner," you answered, playing with the crust of the pie that was on your plate.
"He always has to be dramatic about it, doesn't he?" Cho pointed out. "Cedric should take notes, he could learn a thing or two from Fred."
The three of you giggled. Cho rarely said a kind word about Fred, but he was growing on her. He had that effect on people.
——
You made your way up the stairs towards Fred's dormitory. You were nervous for some reason, but you couldn't really understand why. You had been to his room countless times, but he didn't usually invite you over by sending a paper butterfly at dinner. It seemed like he was up to something.
You knocked on the door, fiddling with your fingers that you had clasped in front of you. A few seconds passed until Fred opened the door, a wide grin on his face.
"Close your eyes," he said, putting his hands over your eyes as he pulled you into the room.
"What in Godric's name are you up to now, Freddie?" you asked as he led you through the room.
"You'll find out in a second," he replied, bringing you to the bed. "Sit down."
You obliged, sitting down onto his bed. You heard papers rustling, and you were tempted to open your eyes. But you knew that Fred wanted whatever this was to be a surprise, so you obediently kept them closed.
"You can open them now," Fred said, sitting on the bed next to you.
You opened your eyes, taking in the room before you. Fred had lit numerous candles and spread rose pedals around the room. It was like a scene from a romantic novel. It was cheesy, but you loved it.
You looked around, noticing that Fred had strung something up on the walls. "You should start from this end and work to the right," Fred said, directing you toward the door.
All around the room were sketches of you. The first was a sketch of your frustrated face. Your hair was braided, and you assumed that the sketch was of your confrontation in the courtyard.
The next was you in the Quidditch stands. Then you on your back on Fred's bed, his head between your legs. Your side profile as you looked out from the astronomy tower. Slow dancing to the record player. The first time you had butter beers with him and his friends at the Three Broomsticks.
You couldn't stop the tears that were rolling down your cheeks. Your hand was covering your mouth that was agape in absolute disbelief. Fred had chronicled your relationship in sketches. You had no idea that he was this talented.
The sketches continued in order along the walls of his room, and you didn't turn to him until you had looked at every last one. You finally looked at Fred. A soft smile was on his lips, and his eyes looked like they were shining. He had that look that he gave you once in a while that you were never quite able to place.
Fred closed the space between you, wiping the tears from your cheeks. He took your hands into his.
"Birdie....I don't even know where to start," he let out a chuckle, obviously a bit nervous. "I realized that I never asked you to be my girlfriend. We both kind of just assumed that we were together, but I wanted to be sure."
You giggled at him. He was right. You had never explicitly spoken about being together, it was something that fell into place naturally.
"So I'm finally going to ask. Will you be my girlfriend?" Fred asked.
"Of course I will, Freddie," you said, reaching up to wrap your arms around his neck. You kissed him on the lips, your cheeks still wet with tears.
"I'm not done yet," Fred said, pulling out of the kiss. He took your hand, walking you back to the bed. He sat down, motioning for you to join him.
"You and I have known each other ever since we got to Hogwarts. I always thought that you were cute, but your nose was so far into your books that I never tried to get to know you," Fred said, still holding your hand. "I have learned so much about you in these past few months. It has made me wonder how I ever was able to live without you before, how I could walk past you in the halls every day and not kiss you. I was missing out on so much, and I had no idea. But now I know you, and I also know that I'm in love with you."
Fred paused to take a breath. Tears continued to roll down your cheeks as you watched him in silence.
"I know that your last experience with love might not have been what you wanted it to be, but this is going to be different. Because I will spend every day making sure that you know that I love you. I will support you and your dreams. If that means you have to spend hours in the library and don't have as much time for me, I still support you. There is no one in the world who is as smart as you, as ambitious as you, as kind-hearted, patient, caring...I could go on for ages," Fred squeezed your hand, looking into your eyes. "I don't know a lot of things, but I do know for sure that I am in love with you. And I need you to know that. You are my weakness, and I think you have learned how to exploit that."
Fred gently poked at your side, trying to get you to laugh. A choked giggle came out of your mouth as you tried to wipe your tears.
"Darling, why are you crying?" Fred asked, his voice gentle. It was like he was afraid you were going to break like a piece of glass.
"This is just....I never expected this," you replied, taking breaths to try to gather yourself. "I don't know how else to respond to a gesture like this."
Fred squeezed your hand again, using his other hand to wipe a tear from your cheek. "Birdie, this is what you deserve."
You breathed out. You had been trying to remind yourself that you deserve good things. That you work hard and deserve success. That you are a good friend and deserve for that to be reciprocated. Fred somehow knew all of your insecurities and exactly how to make them vanish.
"Fred, this is....." you started, left speechless for a moment. "I love you too."
Your hands found his cheeks, taking his face into your hands. You kissed him, a sweet kiss that you hoped conveyed how much you loved him.
"How long have you known?" you asked, pulling back so you could look him in the eye.
"Known what?" he replied, finding your hand again and taking it into his.
"How long have you known that you loved me?" you said, rubbing the back of his hand with your thumb.
Fred looked down for a moment as he considered your question. "The astronomy tower. I think that's when I knew, I just didn't want to admit it yet," he answered.
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Wow...that was a long time ago," you said.
"Birdie, you are the only person who challenges me. Who always sees the best in me. You believe in me without a question. And you have been that way since the beginning. How could I not fall in love with you?"
You leaned in to kiss him again, this time biting at his bottom lip. Your hands found his hair, and he pulled you onto his lap.
"You are so sentimental and I love you for it," you said, stroking his cheek. He smiled at you, kissing you once more.
His kisses wandered from your mouth to your jaw down to your neck. Your hands were busy in his hair, pulling at it as he nipped at your sensitive skin. You leaned your head back, giving him full access to your neck.
He undid your tie, tossing it to the side before working on the buttons of your shirt.
"Someone seems impatient," you teased, scratching at his scalp with your nails. You were usually the one who pushed things along. Fred was willing to be patient for the sake of your comfort.
"I've been dying to make love to you," he replied between kisses, now biting along your collar bone. He had already finished with the buttons of your shirt, and he waited for you to pull it off your shoulders.
You obliged, discarding your shirt so Fred could continue his trail of kisses. He stood up from the bed, picking you up for a moment before placing you on your back in the center of the bed. You opened your legs, and he slid between them so he could plant another kiss on your mouth.
He made quick work of your skirt, and soon you were left in only your undergarments on his bed.
"What a view," he said, grinning at you as he moved to take off his own shirt and tie.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," you teased at him.
"That's what the sketches are for," he said, already taking off his pants.
Fred came forward to kiss your lips again, your legs wrapping around his middle. His hands ghosted along your ribcage, wandering around to your back so he could unclasp your bra.
You slid your bra straps down your arms, dropping it onto the floor next to the bed. Fred left hot kisses from your lips all the way down between your boobs. Your back was already arching off of the mattress, begging for more.
"I want to take my time with you tonight," he said between kisses, sucking a nipple into his mouth. You moaned in reply, hands flying to his hair.
He worked your other nipple with his fingers, eventually moving his mouth to give the other a turn. His searing kisses trailed down your stomach, stopping just above your navel.
Fred's fingers played with the edge of your knickers, tickling along your hip bone. "May I?" he asked, looking up at you from his position between your legs.
"Yes. Please," you answered, your nails scratching along his muscular shoulders.
Fred pulled down your knickers, dropping them onto the floor. He kissed the side of your knee, working his way down your thighs toward your center.
"So gorgeous. Such a perfect girl," he mumbled, leaving love bites on your inner thighs.
His hand hooked behind your knee, pushing it closer to your chest. His mouth migrated from your thighs to your hip bone, leaving kisses along your lower belly.
One hand came down to your center while his other propped him up on the bed. His thumb found your clit, slowly working a circular pattern onto it. He still kissed along your belly, making you writhe with anticipation.
Fred dove one long finger into your opening, making you whimper. He was taking his time just like he said he would, but it was driving you insane.
He was finally gracious enough to move his mouth down to your core, teasing your clit with the tip of his tongue. His finger still worked in and out of your opening, causing you to grip at Fred's hair.
He picked up his pace, sucking your clit into his mouth as he added another finger into you. You were moaning his name, pulling at his hair as he pleasured you.
You were so close to your release. Fred knew your body well enough that he could tell that you were close, so he continued exactly as he was. In his mind, you two were just getting started.
You finally reached your high, arching off of the bed as you pulled on a fistful of fiery hair. Fred eased you down, leaving gentle kisses on your thighs before moving to kiss you on the lips.
"I love you," he said, brushing your nose with his as he looked into your eyes.
"I love you too," you replied, still catching your breath after your orgasm. The moment was sweet and endearing, but you wanted more.
You reached for Fred's waistband, raising your eyebrows at him suggestively. "I'm going to be on top this time, pretty boy," you said, a smirk creeping across your mouth.
Fred's face lit up. He had always taken control during sex, but he wasn't upset about this change. You were nervous about being on top; you had never tried it before. But tonight felt like the right time.
You switched positions on the bed, with Fred laying on his back. You straddled him, and Fred sat up and kissed along your collarbone and shoulders.
"I think you were made for me," he said between kisses. His words made a shiver run down your spine.
He was straining against the fabric of his underwear, and you knew exactly how to help him. You pushed his shoulders back, forcing him to lay down onto the bed.
"What do you want, Freddie?" you asked, trying to make your voice sound sweet and innocent.
"Anything," he answered, running his hands along your hips. He wanted to take his time, but he was starting to get desperate.
"Hmmmm...I'll have to decide for you then," you said, tracing your nails down his chest. Your fingers landed at the edge of his boxers, toying with it.
You could feel Fred shiver beneath your touch. A smirk spread across your lips. Having this power over him felt addictive.
You pulled at his boxers, taking them all the way down his legs and tossing them onto the floor. You kissed along his abs while one hand reached down to grip him.
Fred sucked in a breath. He had been anticipating your touch. You continued your kisses down to his hip bones, working him with your hand.
You peered up at him. His mouth was open slightly, and his pupils were dark. You had him right where you wanted him.
"Do you want something?" you asked, blinking at him through your eyelashes.
"I...your mouth," he said, stuttering a bit. He was flustered.
You brought your trail of kisses down further, and you dared to dart out your tongue to tease his tip. He shuddered in response.
You had enough of teasing him. At least for now. You took him into your mouth, still using your hand to work the rest of him that didn't fit. Fred groaned, his hands finding your hair.
"Fuck, birdie. Feels so good," he said, watching you as you worked him deeper into your throat.
You could feel his muscles tensing, but you didn't want him to finish like this. You pulled your mouth off of him, propping yourself up with your hands on his thighs.
"I couldn't let you finish like that, Freddie," you said, your voice soft. "I know what you want. You just need to beg for it."
Fred huffed. "Beg?" he asked in disbelief. This sounded like the kind of thing that he usually did to you.
"It's your turn to be desperate. Or we could stop, that's alright too," you replied, taking your hands off of his thighs. You started as if you were going to get off the bed, but he grabbed your wrist.
"Please," he said, his eyes boring into yours.
"Oh Freddie, you know you can do better than that. So insincere," you teased, running your nails up his thighs.
You moved so you were straddling his middle. You played with his hair, looking down at him. He was stubborn, not wanting to give in to you. But he also wanted you, and that meant that he would have to play along.
"Birdie, please. I need you," he whined, bringing his hands to your hips.
"I know," you replied, grinning at him. His eyes were pleading with you. You had to give in to him.
You pushed your hips back, using your hand to find him. He still held on to your hips as you aligned him with your entrance, slowly working yourself down onto him.
Fred breathed out, gripping onto your hips harder. You supported yourself with your hands on his chest, trying to find a comfortable pace. You had never been on top before, so this was unfamiliar territory.
Fred's hands slid up to your sides. He pulled you forward, kissing your lips. You kissed him back, your hands now propped on either side of his head. You moved your hips up and down, still feeling a bit unsure of what to do.
Fred's lips moved to your ear. "Would you like some help, darling?" he whispered.
"Please," you replied, letting out an embarrassed chuckle.
Fred took back some control, using his own hips to meet yours. You increased your pace, meaning that Fred also increased his.
You pulled yourself back up, putting your hands on his chest once again. He grabbed your hips, moving you up and down to match his rhythm.
"Fuck, Freddie. Just like that," you cried, digging your nails into his chest.
He continued like this, bringing a hand down to your center. His thumb found your clit, working it as you rode him. You let out a whine, feeling overwhelmed by the pleasure.
"So good for me, birdie. Such a good girl," he praised. "Are you going to finish for me?"
You moaned as he increased the pace once more. You were close to your finish, but you wanted him to finish too.
"Not until you finish for me," you managed to say between moans. He had you on the brink.
"I'm close, darling. So close," he replied, digging his hand into your hip.
Fred continued, and soon enough you were crying out. "Freddie, so good. Don't stop."
You reached your orgasm, maintaining Fred's brutal pace so he could reach his own. It only took a few more moments.
"Fuck, that's it, birdie," he said as he finished, his hips stuttering into you. You both slowed your hips, and you collapsed onto his chest.
You were both breathing hard and sweaty. You stayed on top of him, burrowing your face into the crook of his neck.
"That was...." Fred started, chuckling. "You never cease to amaze me."
You picked up your head, exhausted from your effort. "I aim to please," you replied, shooting a wink at him.
Fred chuckled again. "You sure do," he said.

When a High Lord is powerless.
summary: Eris x human reader, reader is sick, Eris is freaking out.
a/n: since i'm just getting over a sickness I wrote this to feel better about myself. enjoy
Warnings: none
wordcount: 1.1k
Eris pulled at his hair, helpless at the scene before him.
You were sick. The night before you told him it was a “common cold.”
“It’s a human thing I guess, since you ethereal fae don’t ever get the sniffles.”
He had never been around anyone ill. Fae got injured. Accelerated healing made it so only deadly blows would do any real harm. But it was never anything invisible that would wound, it was magic, blades, fire. Yesterday you had been perfect. Eris listed the things he saw you do in his mind: breakfast, ride through the groves, read, play a game of chess… all the usual things that kept you busy.
“High Lord, I beg, don’t touch the High Lady. She has a very high fever and we must lower her temperature.” The words were a blow to his gut. A contradiction to the very instincts that urged him forward, closer to you.
“High Lord, please.” The healer looked at him with wide eyes. He could not find malice in them, only worry to match his own. “What can I do?”
The healer sighed and wiped her brow. “If you could find ice, it would help the fever.”
He nodded, exiting the room at once. In all his years his magic, his fire had never been the cause of his self loathing. It was the fire that kept him going in the dark days when Beron was alive. The same fire that kept you warm in the cold Autumn nights when you first arrived was now aggravating the monster that ravaged your body.
He winnowed to the border with Winter as soon as he stepped out of your chambers. Scooping chunks of ice and snow and praying to whatever gods might hear him that it would be enough. That they might spare you.
Would a god implore him in a bargain? Your health for his magic. If it would bring you harm when you needed help he would be rid of it entirely. Or perhaps his immortality. There’s no him without you, not anymore. He might trade his lifespan for a human one. You’ve said that you have sixty years if you’re lucky. That would be enough… what god might- “Oh thank the Cauldron you found some! The ice in the kitchens ran out.” The healer yanks the bag from him and begins to coat your body in the frigid substance. You moan, discomfort rousing you from sleep.
“Eris… where is he-”
“I’m right here, love.” Your hand reaches for his, but the healers instructions were clear. Heat would worsen your condition and he was a walking furnace. “I’m right here, the healers say the cold will help with the fever.”
“I don’t- I don’t like this Eris, I’m cold. Hold me, please…” He can’t stand it. The paleness of your skin, the heaviness in your eyes and the dark circles beneath. Your teeth are chattering. He steps closer. “High Lord! She is merely uncomfortable, the ice is helping. Please try to remain calm.”
He fumes. “Then make her comfortable! She’s your High Lady! If harm comes her way I will not hesitate-”
“Don’t yell, my darling. I’m alright… just a bit cold is all.” Your voice is barely a whisper as it slaps him across the face.
“I apologize, I’m worried about my mate.”
The healer huffs in acknowledgement and returns to her ministrations. “It’s just a cold Eris, I’ll be fine by tomorrow. Back in the Human Lands my mother would make me broth and I’d be back to normal.”
“What kind of broth?”
Then he was in the kitchen. No cooks were on duty in the middle of the night so he followed a recipe from a book, which he ignored a soon as he foud a medicinal journal. He boiled anything he could find with healing properties to make an unappetizing broth but at the very least it would help your body fight.
“This smells terrible.”
“Humor me.” You gag as you get another whiff but manage to down a few sips. The lukewarm liquid soothes your throat so, against your tastebuds screaming otherwise, you sigh in relief. “Is that better?”
You nod and give him a quarter of a smile.
“Is there nothing else I can do?”
“You can brush my hair.” Eris looks towards the healer for her approval. “So long as you only touch her with a brush, it should be fine, High Lord.”
He massages your scalp with the soft bristles of the brush andthen proceeds to rid your hair of the tangles being in bed had caused. If he was being honest, it looked like a bird’s nest. He’s as gentle as he can, and a loud snore makes his heart jump to his throat. You’d fallen asleep again.
“Her fever is better, I will return by sunrise to check again. If anything happens please do not hesitate to call, High Lord.”
“Thank you, Willa.” She nods and pats him on the shoulder. “She’ll be fine, my Lord.”
It’s morning when Eris wakes up in the chair beside your bed. A sneeze that startled both of you was his good morning. “I need a handkerchief.” You request while covering your nose and mouth with your hands. Eris digs into his pocket and gives you his. “Don’t look at me while do this, sweetheart.”
“Why not?”
You roll your eyes and just urge him to “look away!” He does and what follows in a wet, squelching sound he cannot imagine is coming from the beautiful creature on the bed. “All done,” you say in a defeated tone. The energy you had gathered from sleep had been wiped out by a sneeze and a blow of the nose.
“How are you feeling?” It takes you a while to reply as you cuddle up closer to the pillows substituting Eris’ body. “A bit better, I suppose.”
“You said you’d be back to normal today.” What if you had taken a turn for the worse? Had the fever been too much?
“It’s not an exact science, my love. But my throat doesn’t hurt anymore, so I am better.”
“You’ll be the death of me I swear.” You reach your hand out to his. He hesitates.
“I don’t have a fever anymore, hold my hand.” He has no power agaisnt his mate and has been craving your touch for hours. Your hand is icy in his, but its just as soft as he remembers it. “See, I’m right here, not going anywhere yet.”
Yet. Because you had your days numbered, illness or not. He would never be ready to part. Never wants to face eternity with out you. So he reaches out to the gods again, hoping at least one would take up his bargain.

The wind was cold as it whipped against your face -- you hadn't enjoyed the Winter Court much for that. It was rarely warm in this court, no sun, no humidity... it almost made you miss the Summer Court.
Perhaps I'll just go back there, you thought.
Shaking your head, you let the angry feelings recede a bit. As you closed the open window and made to look in the mirror instead, you let out a long sigh.
Is the Spring Court High Lady supposed to look so... blue?
You reached for the jewelry you'd laid out for today's meeting; a pair of pearl earrings your mother had once given you, and a golden necklace with a heart-shaped pearl hanging from it.
That one was from your mate.
Your mate. Your husband. Your Tamlin. Your brows furrowed as the sinking feeling in your heart returned, one that made its debut the night prior. The night prior, when, being so stubborn as usual, you and your mate got into a tiff. More of an argument, really. It was the worst one you'd ever had.
You glance at yourself in the mirror again, frustration reddening your face as you try to clasp the jewelry around your neck. Usually, your husband would be there to help you out with that -- but, he had left early this morning, after a long night with not so much as a cuddle from you.
Maybe he was rethinking his original proclaimation to make you his High Lady...
Last night's argument was rough, sure. But the Tamlin you knew, one so changed after his falling out with Feyre, wouldn't think twice about you being his equal. You knew that -- but the feeling still lingered.
He was so upset last night, so worked up by the things you were saying. You'd never so much as heard him raise his voice before, let alone gripe at you so loudly during the disagreement. But, last night was different.
"You're not hearing what I'm saying, Y/N," he started.
"I don't need to! I already told you, the best course of action was to ally with Kallias, and-"
"Is that much not already clear? By the Cauldron, Y/N, we've travelled all this way to meet with him in his palace-"
"Exactly!" Your voice rose one octave, the knitting of your brows only making him frown.
"So why aren't we focusing more on our alliances with-"
"I swear to the Cauldron, Tamlin, you don't listen to a word I say." You huffed, tossing your worn gown into the closet and slamming the door. You pulled your sleeping top over your head, continuing on.
"We already have the Autumn Court on our side. The only other party here right now, for this meeting tomorrow, is the Night Court-"
"Right, the Night Court that we still need to forge an alliance with."
You glared at him hard.
"You really think Rhysand is going to hear a word either of us have to say? After all this time, how blinded are you-"
"For the record, I've been doing this a lot longer than you have, High Lady. I think I know what I'm doing." He glared back at you.
That's when your heart sunk, and a few beats of silence passed between you.
"That was low, even for you."
His face softened at your words, his eyes downcast as you slid into the cozy, winter-white sheets.
He let out a small, saddened sigh as he changed, and slid in behind you.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean-"
"Don't." Even with your back turned, you could still hear every word he said, and sense he had reached out to embrace you.
You didn't care. Your feelings had been hurt -- and your heart felt as cold as the snow gathering on the windowsill.
Standing before the closet once more, you ruffled through the gowns you'd packed, not quite sure which one was best fit for the meeting. Originally, you thought the pale blue would be best, as you were in the Winter Court after all -- but, you were the High Lady of the Spring Court. You didn't want your potential allies for this upcoming battle to feel as though you were trying to be somebody that you weren't.
You bent at the waist, picking up the discarded gossimer from last night and hanging it straight on a hanger. That one was a rather expensive one, one your mate had bought you for your anniversary; you'd have to consult with Alis about the wrinkles.
Thumbing through the dresses once more, your eye caught on the moss green gown, one you hadn't worn often, but one that surely got other's attention. The last time you'd worn it, you took your honeymoon with Tamlin in the Dawn Court... oh, what a lovely trip that had been.
You tried to ignore the growing pulse between your legs at the memory.
Snatching it from the closet, you put it on, fixing your hair once before giving yourself a confident smile in the mirror.
You'd make things right today, you thought. Just after you got through this meeting.
✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *
"My Gods Y/N -- you're ravishing as ever!"
Vivianne greets you with a warm embrace, and you chuckle as some of the fur on her long, white coat tickled your nose.
"It's good to see you again, Viv."
You pulled away, smiling politely before she pulled you close conspiratorally.
"Hey -- we really need girl's weekend again, don't you think?"
You smiled, the memory of the last weekend spent in the Summer Court a happy one.
"Oh, I most certainly agree. Tamlin's been..." you trail off, trying to find the right word to describe, but not insult your husband.
"...Tamlin?" She finishes, and the two of you chuckle. Your stomach drops a little as you see the familiar head of blonde hair waltzing over to the two of you, one that didn't particularly like you or your husband.
"Morrigan!" Vivianne cheered, embracing her long-time friend as she'd just done to you. "I missed you so much!"
Morrigan flashed her a beaming smile, her attention solely focused on her friend. Your cheeks heated in that moment. Of course they were closer than you and Vivianne were -- they'd both been doing this for a lot longer.
Maybe, you should've trusted your husband's judgement, instead of snapping at him like you did.
"Mor, I'm sure you've met-"
"Yes, I have. The, High Lady, of... the Spring Court." Her words are punctuated, but she extends a hand to you nonetheless. You take it, plastering the most confident smile on your face as possible. "Your name was...?"
"Y/N," you fill the silence, Vivianne's eyes switching between the two of you. "It's Y/N." She only nods, dropping your hand as she subtly glances at your necklace.
"Yes, Y/N and I were actually just talking about another ladie's weekend!" Vivianne chirps excitedly. "Do you think you'll be able to come this time?" Morrigan's gaze returns to her friend.
"It depends -- Rhys always has something for me to do, we have more of an army than we know what to do with, and..." she glances sidelong at you. "I suppose it depends on how this meeting goes today, doesn't it?"
Vivianne bites her lip, trying to feign nonchalance as she offers a simple shrug. "I... I suppose, so."
Morrigan takes in a breath, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "It'd be so much easier if the men here could get off their high horses; if we started working together years ago, we would already be prepared for something like this." She lets out a short laugh, and you can't help but crack a smile.
You definitely should have heard Tamlin out. An alliance with the Night Court? That was absolutely the move.
Vivianne and Morrigan shatter on as you reflect on how wrong you were, shouting at your mate like that last night, what were you thinking? You were already friends with Vivianne, which meant Kallias was willing to work with your court-
"Hello, everyone! So glad you could all make it." Kallias' voice rang out through the room, his voice bouncing off the ice-walls. "Please -- join me at the table, everyone, as we discuss this upcoming war."
Morrigan tutted, and Viv muttered a "men, right?", which caused you to chuckle as you made your way to your seat. Your heart caught in your chest as you observed Tamlin in the chair beside yours, his chosen outfit for the day was green, fitting, and... attractive.
You began to pull out your chair, only stopping when his large palm covered yours atop the wood.
"Allow me."
The quiet offer was all you needed, as you moved to sit, allowing your husband to push you closer to the table. He sat quietly next to you, and it took everything in you to not lean over and kiss his cheek.
"Alright -- at our last meeting, I believe we were discussing the matter of battle origin," Kallias begins. He droned on, and on, and on, discussing various maps of each court as he earned input from the other two High Lords in attendance. Beron, though he was your ally, didn't know how to say anything respectful; you opted to sneak a glance at your husband instead of listening to his opinion.
Boy, what a mistake that was.
You felt silly, foolish for the thoughts running through your head. Your mate's jawline was clean shaven, his silky golden hair flowing to his shoulders. The way his cream-colored pants fit him... Gods, you only could imagine the way his strong thigh muscle would feel against your aching clit, his strong hands guiding your waist back and forth as you made a mess on his-
"And, what do you have to say about this?"
You were so wrapped up in your dizzying thoughts that the question came as a shock to you. While you were trying to come up with an answer, something to say to that -- Tamlin spoke up.
"I believe we will have to agree with Kallias on this one."
His answer washed over you like a bucket of ice water. Kallias? The Winter Court? Examining the maps laid upon the table, one thing was clear -- the decision of where to camp for battle was very divided.
All it took was one look to the High Lady of the Night Court's face to realize the grave mistake your husband just made -- they'd never align properly with you, given that you'd taken the side of the court in the minority over their plan that made much more sense.
Even Beron frowned.
"I... I think, what Tamlin meant," you spoke up. "Was that while the Winter Court would be ideal..." you could feel the nerves creeping in. Everyone's eye was on you. Public speaking wasn't a comfortable skill you'd taken on, usually opting for your husband to do most of the talking -- after all, he was much better at it than he had been.
"I think that, while your Court is ideal," you repeated, looking to Kallias and then to Rhysand. "The weather for said activity, is not. From my understanding, the Night Court is much better suited-"
"We think the Night Court is a good idea, but it may be better to lie in wait here where invading armies are less likely to look." Tamlin interrupts, trying to steer the conversation in favor of the Winter Court. You huff, only trying to show your change of heart from the night before.
Kallias' satisfied expression changes when Rhysand opens his mouth.
"Let the lady speak, Tamlin... she is your High Lady, after all." He offers you a polite smile, and you clear your throat once more.
"I think... we have to agree with the Night Court, on this one." Tamlin shakes his head beside you, his knuckles white as he clasps his hands together atop the table.
"No no, we are aligning our judgement with the Winter Court." He half-smiles at Kallias. Beron raises an eyebrow.
You look at him, brows knit. "I think my husband is... confused, as we already talked about our allegiance with the Night Court," you punctuate, hoping to get the memo across that yes, he was right, and yes, aligning with the Night Court would be best.
He stares blankly. "I'm not confused. About any of it." The two of you stare eachother down, only interrupted when Beron claps his hands loudly.
"Well, as it seems the two of you don't have your court's beliefs in order quite yet," he looks to Kallias. "How about an intermission?"
The High Lord of Winter nods. "An intermission -- meet back here after dinner?" Many attendees nod, moving to stand from their chairs. You catch a small wink from Morrigan, clearly pleased with your interest in her native court. But before you can make to stand, your husband's hand braces your thigh.
"You're not going, anywhere." He growls. You sit still, watching as every other member filters out, and Kallias closes the door behind him. Turning to Tamlin, you take a steadying breath as his eyes meet yours.
"Tamlin, I-"
He rushes toward you, his free hand bracing the back of your neck as his lips crash into yours. His other hand squeezes your leg, feeling up and down as he rumples your dress. Lips moving against one another, you let out a soft groan at the feeling of his tongue slipping between your lips, tasting you and fighting for control against yours.
You pull back breathless, your eyes meeting his once more. The dark green irises are filled with pure hunger.
"What are you playing at, Y/N?" He growls, and you have squeeze your legs together.
Your mouth opens and closes like a fish, already longing to be on his again. "I... I realized, you were right, last night, and um-"
"And, you thought leaving your mind open to me, during this crucial meeting was a good idea?" His brows lower, while yours furrow in confusion.
"What? I..." Oh.
"You think I can't hear what you're thinking? See what you're fantasizing about, while I'm trying to focus on the plan you suggested-"
"Woah woah woah," you held your hands up, chuckling humorlessly. "How did you miss that I was trying to follow your plan?" He glowered at you. "Tamlin, I know what was said last night was in anger, but you were right-"
"Do not apologize to me." He says lowly. "I had no right to speak to you that way. Speak to my mate that way." Your heart aches at his wors, his mouth mere inches from yours as he maintains eye contact. "And I don't want you ever, thinking I'd want you in any court than mine. With me. Leading, with me."
Your bottom lip quivers. He must have heard your negativity this morning, too.
Before the tears well up too much in your eyes, you pull him in, kissing him again. Your fingers grip his emerald jacket collar, holding on as his mouth devoured yours at once. His hands, Gods his hands... he hoised you out of your chair, placing you on his lap to straddle him instead. You moaned into the kiss, his cock throbbing beneath the restraints of his pants and sending waves of desire straight to your core.
His hands roved all over you, sliding down your back and across your covered thighs before settling on your hips, moving you back and forth across his hardening length. You only break the kiss to gasp when he leans you back, splaying you flat on the table while he pushes up your dress.
"T-Tamlin, we're..." you suck in a breath, his eyes meeting yours as he slides his tongue flat against your clothed pussy. "We could... someone could..."
He reaches out a hand, the small click of the door locking behind him all the assurance you need. His gaze returns to the masterpiece before him, his mouth practically watering as he slides your panties down your legs, tossing them to the side.
"Oh... OH Gods," you groan, his tongue returning to your quivering hole at once. You write beneath him, every lick and soft bite around your pussy pure torture. He lays one hand on your lower stomach, pressing down as he inserts two of his fingers inside, curling them deep inside of you.
"T-Tamlin, oh Gods...yes, yes," you chant, feeling the tightening in your lower stomach as his mouth continues eating you out deliciously. At once, the lewd sounds stop -- and you lift your head off the table for only an instant before his hand wraps around your throat, pushing you down to lay flat again.
"You want to tease me during an important meeting, hm?" He smirks, shoving down the waistpant of those well-fitting pants at once. His shoulder muscles flex, his bottom lip caught between his teeth as he gazes into your eyes while jerking himself off. "This dress? Your attitude?" He tuts, and you clench around nothing as he presses the head against your awaiting hole.
"You're getting what you wanted, my love -- I'll always, give you exactly what you want."
A gasp breaks free as he pushes into you, his girthy length stretching you in the best way. His hand grips your ass, pulling you to the edge of the table. Your hair lays splayed beneath you, your beauty only more captivating to him as he squeezes your throat slightly.
Breathy pants escape with every thrust he gives you, every vein and ridge felt against your sensitive walls. He groans in pleasure, licking his lips as he speeds up, pounding mercilessly into you.
"I... oh, Tamlin, oh... fuck," you moan, and he chuckles slyly at you.
"What a dirty mouth you've got for a High Lady," you suck in a gasp as his hand leaves your throat, opting to slide along your jawline as his thumb runs over your bottom lip. You open your mouth, sticking out your tongue as he slips his finger inside.
"Mmm... good girl," he grunts, watching as you squeak in pleasure beneath him. His hips slap against your thighs, the angle at which his dick is thrusting into you bringing you closer and closer to the edge.
You open your mouth, gasping for a single breath. "Tamlin, I'm gonna... oh Gods!" You squeeze your eyes shut as you cry out in pleasure, the pressure in your belly finally releasing as your orgasm rolls through you. He continues fucking you, only slowing when he drains himself inside of you. Pulling out, he offers a small laugh as you make eye contact.
"I think... we need to clean up, before the others return." You giggle, taking his offerring hand and hopping off the table. The both of you work to re-arrange the maps as they'd been before your activities, and you smooth your dress down once you're satisfied with the room's presentation.
"I'll keep these," Tamlin reaches for your undies, pocketing them for later. You blush as the two of you approach the door, unlocking and opening it to reveal a shocking scene.
Kallias stands before you, a brow raised in amusement.
No words are exchanged, until your husband clears his throat.
"We were just discussing-"
"Oh, don't worry. I heard your discussing." He chuckles, and your face reddens. How long had he been waiting there?
Tamlin coughs, opening his mouth again to speak. Kallias only raises a hand.
"No need to explain, friend -- I've already called off the meeting for tonight." Tamlin's brow furrows, and you exchange a look of confusion.
"But, we haven't even discussed our final decision yet-"
"You both... discussed, rather loudly. Assuming you'll give your wife exactly what she wants..."
Your face deepens more in color.
"...you'll be in favor of the Night Court's plan. That's 3 votes to 1." He glances to you, smirking as he turns on his heel. "Seems as though the High Lady of Spring is going to get exactly what she wants."
He begins ascending the stairs, and Tamlin takes your hand in his. The rosiness on his cheeks is cute, but you can tell he's embarassed too as he calls after his ally.
"Kallias, wait-"
The white-haired male turns, looking at you two with an amused grin.
"Maybe, next time, don't use my round table for your...discussions."

Bewildering
The Skreat escape pod crash landing on Earth one night caused chaos in more ways than one. Several people’s lives were altered forever by the events that immediately followed the ships blazing destruction. It was dark as sirens blared through the night heading towards the blaze.
I woke up by the shrieking sounds of alarms approaching. We crashed on some foreign planet after the sudden attack. My biggest fear was being captured on this planet, what if they were the ones that attacked us? What if they took me and tortured me for species secrets. I couldn't let them know about Skreats and began slithering as fast as I could through the area lined with bark lined towers.
2 figures approached in the night, but I couldn't focus on identifying features and chose to hide. Suctioning my way up a bark tower, I chose to use my observation skills to determine if they were friendly organisms or foes determined to take me in for experimentation.
"Raph I don't think we should get closer. We should go back to camp and evacuate. It looks like it could lead to a big wild fire," the shorter of the two pleaded with the bigger one.
"Alex, dude. There's no way it wasn't like a giant secret ship or something insane that caused it. Didn't you hear that crazy crash? We gotta see this thing first hand," the taller and much more statured of the two said with a boomy resonance.
The two were going towards the ship crash at a rate faster than I could slithering on this planets gravitational pull. I decided they were my way to observe the site and get there faster. I dropped my suction and aimed to fall on their bags. After detaching, I aimed to fall on the broader one since it seemed like my size would be negligible on him.
After falling onto his bag, he turned around as if he heard something behind him, but by that point I had slid into an opening on the enclosure. We Skreats are very pliable and I made my way into his bag.
The pair of earthlings made their way closer to the ships crash site but by the time they got there bright lights and tape marked off the region. Curiosity struck many trying to get a sight at the alien ship. I peaked out of the bag only to see the blaze. There’s no way any Skreats could have survived such a blast.
Numb. All I felt was numbness as this earthling unknowingly carried me away from the scene. Was I the last Skreat? How does one internalize the idea that you’re the last of your kind? The bag shook and then got flung onto a nearby soft surface after a loud door shut. I flew inside the bag which rocked me back to cognizance. Where am I now? I peaked out of the fabric cage I resided in and saw the taller one walking around a room.
He peered into a doorway that emanated light before pulling out a round red sphere and taking a bite.
He appeared to be preparing earthen sustenance…I should become more accustomed to this if I’m the last Skreat I’ll need to blend in with the earthlings. I left the soft seat the bag was thrown onto and slid my way closer to get a better look.
He threw things into a hot cauldron item over a flame. After a few time sectors he was done and put some of the substance into a bowl, that’s when I lost my grip on some steam and fell into the bowl when he wasn’t aware.
I hid among orange, green, and tan bits of sustenance in the hot salty broth. I stung but I couldn’t risk being caught. Eventually a colder metallic platform came into the bowl and lifted me up to his front facing orifice, despite my protests I got swallowed again without his notice.
I refused to be defeated. I mustered up the energy and detoured before meeting the earthlings digestive acids and headed to his core. I guess you call it a heart.
Once there, I began inserting my tendrils and began spreading myself through his bloodstream. It’s a large task for such a small Skreat like myself to attempt a takeover of a creature this large but I was desperate to live.
The large creature began to notice and clasped hard at his chest. But it was too late for him. Pulse pulse pulse. I could feel his heart pumping and eventually I synced up with it. We were becoming one. It’s a skill of the Skreats but it was my first time doing it. I was scared to do it wrong or worse…kill the host.
I began trying to use my new lungs. A phenomenon that like sounds like gasping for air from those who normally use lungs. Eventually I calmed down and brought the heart pulsing down to a normal seeming speed. All the internal systems seemed to normalize as I calmed the body down.
Except one part of the sizable earthling….
I used the body’s messaging device to take an image for further research later. Then I continued to calm the body down leading the appendage to become more restrained. But a message appeared from someone named Babe. I opened it up to see a slimmer earthling with longer hair. They appeared unclothed with a message saying “can i come over?” I replied with my new fingers “affirmative”.
I continued to try enjoying the sustenance the human made before. Wow these sensations from my new mouth were so vibrant and exhilarating. I wonder what else I can figure out. My new thick fingers fiddled with the bag I came out of nearby. An item flopped out with a bunch of cards, I picked up one with this bodies image.
Raphael James Conrad Lee. Was that his identification? That seems very long and superfluous. Must be why that other human called him Raph before.
A knock came to the door of the housing unit I was in. I approached the door and instead of investigating almost as if the host was on autopilot it turned the knob and a tiny earthling stood there in a see through top piece of clothing and a frilly bottom one. I believe this must be the opposite gender, a woman.
She lunged at me piloting the host and placed her mouth on to mine introducing her anatomy to mine. I reciprocated before she yanked my bottom clothing down. My previously hard appendage revived itself with a mind of its own as the woman placed her mouth on it.
All I saw was her eyes as she moved swiftly. One she placed her mouth on it, it felt like all I could see was colors. Oh my what is this phenomenon. Ohhhhh unhhhhhh. What are these sounds escaping my mouth. Before I knew it, the feeling became overwhelming. I felt something coming. My hosts feet previously firmly planted on the ground, curled its toes. My abdomen contracted and then a RELEASE. I opened my eyes as she wiped something. She placed her mouth on mine again and said “thanks”. Before immediately fleeing.
What was that? What is this experience. And why does it feel so good?
I need to understand more about what this appendage does. I wonder if that tiny male human that was with “me” earlier might want to do the same activities with his appendages. I try to recall his identification. Cmon I knew I heard him say it. Lex, Ale, Alex….Alex? Yes.
I picked up the messaging device and snapped an image. I copied the text the woman sent me. “Come over”. Maybe that’s how humans that want that activity communicate it to one another.
Almost immediately the device buzzed.
“Oh bro I didn’t know you rolled like that too?”
What do these words mean? I don’t want him to out me for acting outlandish…okay I can do this.
“Yeah bro. So are you cuming?”
A hand with a thumbs up appeared above the message appeared? What does this mean? So much to learn about this planet. I better start learning if I want to blend in.
The door was never closed after the woman left and a one pound happened on the already opened door. Before I could approach it to see who it was. Alex was there at the door. I could see the same energy the woman had in his eyes. He slammed the door behind him and unclothed himself with haste. He also had an appendage hard like mine, but smaller. Was my body considered an alpha amongst men?
He approached with eagerness but also a tenderness, unlike the woman. I put my mouth on his like she did to me. I was about to show Alex everything I’ve learned about earthlings.

TINKER-Twisted Wonderland x Tinkerbell!Yuu/Fem!Reader Part 3 Part 2 Part 4
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・You know, it’s easy to say that [Name] was really annoyed. She was clinging tightly to a rock, hovering above this monster, and let me tell you, she had been in this precarious position for what felt like ages. Now, don’t get me wrong—she’s not the type to be impatient, at least not by fairy standards. But honestly, if those guys didn’t get their act together soon, she was ready to kick them so far underground that they’d be greeting Hades himself. Maybe this was just karma for laughing at the very people she should have been helping. You know how it goes; they’d probably forget her the moment they got out of the mines.
“H-Hey, monster! I’m uh… I-I’m over here!” [Name] perked up at the sound of a familiar voice. Never in a million years did she think she’d feel relieved to hear Grim, but hey, tough times call for tough measures.
“Grrraaawrrr! BEGOOOOONE!” The monster’s booming roar made the entire mine tremble, and a startled yelp escaped the girl.
“Insect?!” The cat stared in disbelief at the girl dangling for dear life. The monster growled again, catching Gris’s attention. “He's coming our way! Yuuken!”
Yuuken glanced up at [Name] and exclaimed, “You have wings, remember?! You can fly!”
“Oh right!” [Name]’s wings sprang to life, keeping her aloft. “Watch out!” she called out to the cat and the boy. With a powerful flap of her wings, she dove down, swooping up Grim and Yuuken in one smooth motion.
“Right over here, monster!” the black-haired boy taunted, waving his hand at the creature.
“Grrurgh? Thieeef thiiis waaay tooooo... Neeevvva giiive stooones! Neeevvvaaa!” The monster growled, chasing after the teens as they scrambled to escape the cave.
“Eep! If it lands one of those punches, we’re toast!” Grim squeaked as [Name] skillfully dodged the monster’s attacks.
“Aieee! I’m scared!” Yuuken slapped a hand over his mouth, bashfully glancing at [Name].
“Really, Yuuken?” Was [Name] now the knight in shining armor? She could’ve sworn she was just the damsel in distress a moment ago.
“Begooone! BEGOOOOOOONE!”
“Ugh, this guy’s breath is horrendous,” [Name] muttered. Soon enough, they caught sight of a glimmer of light emerging from outside the cave. Once they had distanced themselves enough from the mine, she unceremoniously dropped Grim and Yuuken on the grass and then landed gracefully beside them.
“We got him a good distance away from the mine!” Grim exclaimed, clearly relieved.
“Now’s our chance!” Yuuken urged as Ace and Deuce took up defensive positions back to back.
“You bet! I’m ready! One extra-large gust of wind, coming right up!” Ace flicked his magic pen at the monster.
“And I’ll add my blazing-hot fire to that! MYAAAH!”
Ace grinned, “How’s that for a combo?! With my winds fanning them, even Grim’s flames can turn into a raging inferno!”
“Whaddaya mean ‘feeble’?! You really don’t know when to keep your mouth shut, do you?” Grim shot back at Ace.
Yuuken’s eyes widened as realization dawned on him. “The monster’s afraid of our flaming tornado!”
“Just stay calm, aim carefully… and pull out the biggest, heaviest thing I can think of… Get ‘em, cauldron!” Deuce shouted, brandishing his cauldron.
“Nailed it! The plan’s working! Look, Yuuken! That monster got smashed flat by a falling cauldron, just like Ace did!” Grim teased, taking a jab at the orange-haired boy.
“Could’ve done without the reminder, thanks! This has been one drag after another,” Ace rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.
“Quick! While it’s distracted, we need to grab that magestone!”
“Guh?! Waaait! Nooooooo!”
“That’s it! That’s a magestone!”
“Dooon’t tooouch thaaaaat!”
“Uh-oh! Looks like it’s almost wriggled free!” Ace took a step back, clearly on edge.
“I’ll help, I guess,” [Name] said as she took to the air, fairy dust swirling around her like a gentle snowstorm. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a small circular device and tossed it at the creature, which expanded into a net that wrapped around its body.
“Wait, you could’ve helped back in the cave?!” Ace exclaimed, a hint of offense in his voice.
“I’m helping now, aren’t I?!” she shot back. “Besides, you guys left me back there,” she said, crossing her arms defiantly.
“I told you we forgot something!” Deuce argued with Ace, who had accused him of being ridiculous.
“Nnngaaaah!”
“We got the magestone! Now let’s get out of here!” Grim and Yuuken rushed up to join the group.
“Roger that!” Ace grabbed [Name]’s wrist and pulled her along with him.
“MYYY STOOOOOOONE!”
“Are you kidding me?! It’s still coming! It broke all the nets?!” Ace tightened his grip on the fairy, causing her to wince and poke him with her other hand.
“Ooooooooogh...! Giiive it baaaaack...!”
“It’s too fast! It’s about to catch us!” Deuce started to panic.
“Then it’s kill or be killed!” Yuuken shouted, a hint of fear creeping into his voice.
“Easy for you to say, Yuuken! You don’t have to fight it!” [Name] exclaimed, pulling out her magic pen with a sigh as she held it close.
“Aw, fine! Let’s just smash the thing. Try not to wet yourself, Deucey!” Ace quipped, using the hand that had been around [Name]’s wrist to retrieve his magic pen.
“Same goes for you, Ace!” Deuce replied, following suit.
“I’m gonna show you why they call me Grim the Great!”
“Shut up and help,” [Name] said, her annoyance evident as her wings jingled.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
Deuce was panting, leaning against a tree for support.
“Is it... over?” Ace whined, collapsing onto his back in sheer exhaustion.
“Yes, I mean, I guess watching it disappear right in front of your eyes doesn’t mean anything,” [Name] shot back with a playful sass.
“Even after that intense battle, you still find room for attitude?” Ace questioned, raising an eyebrow.
[Name] laughed, “We?”
Yuuken glanced over at the girl, who was still cackling. Even though he had only known her for less than a day, he was already getting used to her quirks.
“I think... we won? I think we really did it!” Grim exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air.
“All right!”
“Woohoo!”
“Give me a victory high-five!”
“I’m not doing that,” [Name] said, turning onto her side. Grim grunted but raised his paw anyway.
“Shared adversity really brings people together, huh?” the black-haired boy said, a satisfied grin spreading across his face.
“Uh... I don’t think that has anything to do with it,” [Name] replied.
“Yeah! Spare us the clichés, Yuuken!” Ace chimed in.
“There’s no ‘together’ here! We won because of me! This is all thanks to my magical genius!” Grim declared proudly.
“Magical genius, my a—” [Name] was cut off mid-sentence.
“You know... I hate to admit it, but we mostly won because of your plan,” Ace said, smiling at Yuuken.
“Right? If you hadn’t kept your cool and directed us, we never would’ve snagged this magestone. I can’t believe it—now I won’t get expelled! What a relief!” Deuce scratched the back of his neck, glancing down at his feet.
“I’m just glad nobody got hurt,” Yuuken shrugged, brushing it off.
“Yeah, yeah, lessons learned and all that. Can we just go home already? I’m wiped,” Ace said, clearly drained.
“Using all that magic made me hungry! Huh? What’s this?” Grim’s eyes widened as he spotted something.
“Is that... a part of the monster we just beat? It looks like... a magestone? But it’s as black as coal! I’ve never seen one like that before,” Deuce pointed out.
Grim sniffed at the black stone, “What IS this? It smells amazing!”
“Are you out of your mind?” Ace stared at the cat, utterly dumbfounded.
“It must be some kind of fancy monster candy that it was hiding from us!”
“Why don’t you just eat it then? I bet it tastes delicious.” The boys looked at [Name] as if she had just sprouted three heads. Did she really just suggest that? Before they knew it, Grim plopped the stone into his mouth and started munching on it.
“Wait!” A look of horror washed over [Name]. “I didn’t actually think you’d eat it?!”
“Did you seriously just eat that?!” Yuuken rushed over to Grim in disbelief.
“MYAAAH!”
“Are you okay?!” Deuce asked, panic creeping into his voice.
“That’s what you get for eating trash!” Ace laughed, unable to contain himself.
“Oooooogh... Urrrgggh... That... was AMAZING!”
“What?!” the group exclaimed in unison.
“Rich in flavor and full-bodied... It’s like sweet, fragrant flowers bursting into bloom on my tongue. A whole field of them! Right in my mouth!”
“What are you? Are you even real?” [Name] looked at the cat, a mix of confusion and disgust on her face.
“Gross. Monsters must have some seriously weird tastes,” Ace recoiled, grimacing.
“You might be onto something there... Most humans don’t just pick up random stuff off the ground and pop it into their mouths,” the dark blue-haired boy added.
“Monsters really will eat anything, I guess.”
They turned to [Name], waiting expectantly for her to explain. “Wha—oh, I dunno,” she shrugged, tapping her foot against the ground, clearly uninterested.
“Myah ha ha ha! Man, that was fantastic! Don’t worry about me. I don’t have a weak stomach like you humans do,” Grim boasted with pride.
“Hmph. We’ll see if you’re still so smug when you’re sick later tonight,” Ace retorted, ever the snark.
“Okay, let’s get it together. We need to deliver this magestone to the headmage!”
[Name] dramatically fell to the ground. “Deuceeee,” she dragged out, “Carry me there, I’m exhausted,” she curled up into a small ball. Deuce blushed, flustered by the request from a pretty (albeit sassy) girl. Slowly, he picked her up and settled her on his shoulder. Ace scoffed at the boy’s red cheeks while Yuuken sweat-dropped at the girl’s antics.
“Come on!” Grim beckoned, and off they went.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
[Name] was peacefully snoozing away, her soft snoring confirming she was in dreamland. Meanwhile, Deuce was on edge, tensing up every time she shifted in her sleep. Suddenly, a wave of ugly sobs filled the air, pulling her from her slumber. She lifted her head, squinting through her blurry vision, and was stunned to see none other than Headmage Crowley in tears. Seriously? What’s up with him crying like a baby at his age?
“What’s this guy’s problem? Crying in public like that? At his age?!” Grim exclaimed, his jaw dropping in disbelief.
“In all my years at this school, today marks a monumental moment! The students of Night Raven College have finally united to confront a common enemy!” Crowley dabbed at his tears with a handkerchief, clearly overwhelmed.
“Whoa! No way am I joining hands with that guy!” Deuce protested.
“First off, there was no hand-holding involved. Gross. And second, just how old are you, Headmage?” Ace chimed in, echoing [Name]’s thoughts.
“Right now, I’m just too moved to express myself. This moment has validated my hopes. Yuuken, my doubts have vanished! You hold the talents of a beastmaster!” Crowley declared dramatically.
“What talents are those?” Yuuken asked, tilting his head in confusion.
“My students have been chosen by the Dark Mirror for their exceptional abilities. But with great talent comes great pride and huge egos. Most of them are so self-reliant, they wouldn’t even think of working with others,” Crowley admitted, looking down in shame.
“You make it sound like that’s a bad thing,” Yuuken replied.
“But you, Yuuken, you have no magic. Yet, in spite of that—or maybe because of it—you managed to rally those who do have magic to work together for a shared goal. Your ordinary, everyday vibe might just be what Night Raven College needs!” Crowley continued passionately.
“But... none of that sounds good?” Ace responded, unimpressed.
“Yuuken, I genuinely believe that people like you are essential for the future of this school. My instincts as an educator tell me so. Trappola, Spade—I’m revoking your expulsions! And you, Yuuken, I’m granting you the qualifications you need to officially attend Night Raven College!”
[Name] shot upright, eyes wide. “WHAT?!”
“You remember I can’t use magic, right?” Yuuken said, confusion evident on his face.
“Of course, and this is incredibly generous of me. However, there’s one condition. Your lack of magic is unacceptable for a mage. You wouldn’t be able to keep up with the curriculum! And Grim... your actions today show you have enough talent to become a mage. Considering everything, you and Yuuken will share a single enrollment at Night Raven College.”
“Ughhh,” [Name] sunk deeper into Deuce’s shoulder, “Does Grim really have to go to school?”
“Silence, insect! I... I get to be a student? Not a janitor?!” Grim exclaimed, excitement bubbling over.
“Exactly. But! There can’t be any more incidents like today. Clear?”
[Name] couldn’t help but chuckle; she knew Grim wouldn’t last a day without causing chaos.
“It’ll be a pleasure working with you,” Yuuken said, smiling down at the cat.
“Don’t lie,” Grim retorted.
“MYAAAAAH! I FINALLY DID IT!” he shouted, jumping in joy.
“Now, I’ll present Grim with the magestone issued to every student here,” Crowley announced.
“Heh! A magestone, huh?!” Grim said, eyes gleaming.
“Just don’t eat it…” [Name] cautioned, watching Grim slump at her words.
“It usually attaches to the ‘magic pen’ each student uses, but I doubt your paws can handle that. So, I’ve got a custom solution for you. Am I too kind or what?”
“Ah, sweet! A magestone collar, fit only for the legendary archmage, Grim!” Grim beamed.
“Are you even listening? Yuuken. As you can see, Grim is completely clueless about human customs. You need to keep him in check and make sure there are no more incidents! And you, [Name], will be placed in the ramshackle dorm until a room in Diasomnia opens up. I’ve already put your uniform by the door,” Crowley explained.
“Wow, that’s quite the upgrade. From janitor to student to prefect—all in one day,” Ace said, clapping playfully.
“Oh, I see. So if your dorm is just you three, and the headmage himself is putting you, Yuuken, in charge of Grim, that makes you... Yuuken the dorm prefect and [Name] the vice-prefect.”
[Name]’s jaw dropped. She had magic, so why wasn’t she the Prefect? She shot an angry eyebrow at Crowley but eventually lowered it in defeat.
“Well, that’s gotta be a Night Raven first! A magic-less prefect and a girl in one dorm? Sure, why not? Whatever works!” she said, rolling her eyes.
“I’ll do my best!” Yuuken declared, determination shining in his eyes.
“Heh heh heh. Good luck, Magic-less Prefect!” Ace chuckled.
“Ah, yes. I suppose that makes you a prefect. And I just so happen to have a job for you, which will make it much easier to... uh, I mean, congratulations! I have something for you. Behold, the ghost camera!” Crowley showcased the camera proudly.
“Camera?” [Name] and Yuuken echoed, intrigued.
“Ooh, my grandma mentioned those! They’re like, super old magic items, right?” Ace snapped his fingers in recognition.
“I wouldn’t say ‘super old’… ahem. But it might have been invented when your great or great-great-grandmother was a child. It’s a camera enchanted with a special kind of magic that allows the user to photograph not just the subject’s physical form but parts of their soul too,” Crowley explained.
“Wait, that sounds... sketchy,” Deuce said, narrowing his eyes skeptically.
“Right…” [Name] agreed.
“They’re called Memories. Here’s the catch: when the soul bond between the photographer and subject grows stronger, the Memories captured in the photos can come to life!” Crowley continued.
“Soul bond? Jumping out?” [Name] and Yuuken exclaimed in unison.
“When the photographer and subject get closer, their photos become animated like videos... and sometimes the photographs even take on a physical form and leap out. Isn’t that what you kids would call ‘wicked cool’?”
“That sounds like ghost photography!” Deuce commented.
“Very observant. That’s why it’s called a ‘ghost camera’. It was created as a more vivid way to capture moments before video existed. As Spade noted, back in Back in the day, people would freak out when they saw their memories literally jumping out of photos, yelling things like, "Ghost!" I’ve heard so many stories about folks who were absolutely terrified of being snapped by those kinds of cameras.”
“Honestly, this whole tech situation seems like it could cause more headaches than it’s worth.” Ace stretched.
“Luckily,it’s not you handling the camera,”[Name] said as blunt as ever.
“Yuuken, I need you to grab this camera and take some pictures of Grim and the other students, documenting your campus life,”Crowley said.
Grim chuckled, puffing out his chest, “Myah ha haaa! That sounds like the perfect way to capture all my greatest moments!”
“Ahem... Just make sure to focus especially on the little antics of certain students who might have a hard time controlling their impulses. Trust me, keeping a photo journal is way less of a hassle than writing me those long reports, don’t you think? As a prefect, it’s your responsibility to keep an eye on things and document them. Plus, just look at how generous I’m being by letting you use this rare magical item that even someone like you can handle. Isn’t my kindness just off the charts?”
“I’ll give it my all,” Yuuken replied, determination shining in his eyes.
“Alright, it’s getting late, so we’ll have to dive into the details tomorrow. You’re all dismissed, so head back to your dorms!”
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
“Wow, Yuuken,” [Name] wrinkled her nose as she looked around the inside of Ramshackle, “Let’s tackle this mess tomorrow. Oh, and remind me to grab a mop and duster too. Got it, Prefect?”
Yuuken and Grim exchanged shocked glances. Was she really going to lend them a hand?
“Thank y—” But before he could finish, a fairy wing swooped in and covered his mouth.
“Don’t thank me,” she said, lifting the wing away and watching as he coughed up a cloud of fairy dust. “I’m just doing this because I want a clean space.”
“At least we’re making some progress around here,” the black-haired boy chimed in, brushing off her comments.
“Yeah, yeah. And just so you know, I’m calling dibs on the bed!”

💙🤍💙🤍💙
Azriel left you in the hallway, leaving you behind in his search for his love.
Elain.
Sweet, beautiful Elain who had chosen him, who had decided to love him for who he is.
Still, he couldn't help but rub at his heart, the sting of the broken bond catching his attention as he rejoined the party. He wrapped his arms around Elain who had taken up a spot at the balcony, her eyes gazing out at the stars.
How the Cauldron had decided that you would be his mate, he would never know. Your company was fine, that was true, but he had never once felt an ounce of attraction towards you. As a human, your face had been... difficult for him to look at compared to the beauty of the fae, or even your sisters. And as a fae, you were simply plain.
His eyes glossed over you every time you were in the room.
And with everything Azriel had gone to, well, he deserved the beautiful female currently in his arms, her eyes so filled with love as she looked at him.
The ring he had picked out for tonight was heavy in his pocket, and he was just about to pull it out when Feyre let out a scream- one so filled with pain and grief that the entirety of the House of Wind silenced, confused and concerned looks following their High Lady as she sprinted out of the main room.
Rhys followed first, only a few steps behind Feyre, and the rest of the Inner Circle exchanged glances before following suit.
Another guttural scream left Feyre as they approached the balcony that she was peering over, her wings springing into existence in the next moment, and then Feyre was flinging herself over the edge.
Less than a minute later she returned, your limp body in her arms.
His mate.
His mate!
Suddenly all Azriel could feel was the shredded bond in his chest, his hand flying out of Elain's to clutch at his heart as he stared at you, unmoving.
Elain and Nesta rushed to your side, careful not to touch you lest they do more damage that would stop your already weakly-beating heart.
Their mouths were moving, but all Azriel could hear was the quiet sound of the muscle he had shattered mere minutes before pushing blood through your veins, working to keep you alive.
Cassian appeared with Madja a short while later, though Azriel hadn't noticed he'd left, his senses entirely focused on you.
Their words went unnoticed until Rhys was in front of him, pushing him by the shoulders away from the balcony.
"What are you-?"
"Madja needs quiet, Az. Come with me. We need to talk," Rhys said quietly, guiding Azriel to the study he kept in the House.
Azriel shot one last, longing glance to your body, but the three sisters and Madja surrounding you blocked his view.
"So..." Rhys began as they sat in the leather chairs around the fireplace, with Cassian shutting the door and leaning against the wall next to the blazing fire.
Azriel hadn't noticed he was walking with them.
"What happened?"
Azriel looked at Rhys and blinked once, twice.
"What?"
Rhys sighed. "What happened? I saw Y/N pull you aside only a few minutes before Feyre discovered her. So... What happened?"
Azriel blinked at him again before answering. "She... Y/N, she's... My mate."
Surprised flickered on both Rhys and Cassian's faces before confusion took over.
"Isn't... isn't that a good thing? I know you and Elain... But... Why did Y/N... Why is she hurt?" Cassian asked.
Azriel didn't answer as shame washed over him, finally realizing the consequences of his hasty choice.
"... Az?" Rhys asked quietly.
"I... I rejected her..." Azriel whispered as tears streamed down his face, the dam having finally broken.
Silence.
He couldn't bear to look at his brothers, see the disgust in their eyes at his actions.
"I'll go tell Madja," Cassian said quietly, leaving the room in the next moment.
"Azriel... Why?" Rhys asked once the door had shut behind their brother, his voice soft.
Azriel managed to meet his eyes, the usual sparkle of stars in them missing. "I... I promised Elain that I would. And really, I... Y/N is... She's very nice but I never thought..." He trailed off, hoping that Rhys wouldn't make him explain further.
"You never thought what?”
"I never thought that my mate would be the wrong sister..."
"So you just... Rejected her? How long did you consider it?" Rhys paused to let him answer, but Azriel couldn't tell him that he'd given it no thought at all, and rather thought it was a cruel joke played by the Mother. "Did you even consider it, Azriel?" Another pause, and at Azriel's continued silence Rhys scoffed. "You didn't consider it, didn't think of the consequences of breaking the bond. You of all people should know just how a rejection can ruin someone."
Rhys was right. He hadn't thought any of it through, and look where that got him. A rejected bond and a nearly dead mate.
"I want to fix it," Azriel said, his voice cracking. "I want... I need to fix this."
Rhys narrowed his eyes at him, looking him over and taking in how wrecked he looked. Tears were still streaming down his face, a hand absently clutching at his heart.
"I suppose... You can attempt to apologize to Y/N, if she'll let you. But you need to decide what you're going to do about your relationship with Elain..."
Elain. How could Azriel give up his sweet, perfect, beautiful Elain? How could he... He would have to. Somehow, he would get over Elain.
"I'll go talk to her now," Azriel said as he immediately stood and made his way to the door, only stopping when Rhys put a hand in front of him, holding the door shut.
"Azriel. I need you to think about this choice. I won't have you harming Elain as well because you haven't thought yet another decision through. Go take a flight, clear your head. Think, brother." Rhys relinquished his hold on the door, allowing Azriel to pass through.
His feet led him to the balcony you had fallen from, quiet now that you had been taken away for further healing. Azriel gazed over the side, his heart clenching painfully when he considered you had done the same, deciding it was your only way forward.
He launched himself into the air, the chilled wind clearing away every thought but you.
🤍💙🤍💙🤍
Pain.
That was all you knew now.
When you woke the first time, your bones had screamed out, every muscle in your body flaring in pain and agony.
And then came the overwhelming sensation of the shredded bond in your chest, a scream passing through your lips without meaning to as it tormented your entire being.
"Y/N? Y/N we're giving you more pain medicine, you'll be out in a moment, just don't move sissy," a voice said into your mind, the familiar brush of it the smallest balm to the burning pain of your body.
Twin.
And then darkness washed back over your mind, pulling you away from the pain.
The next time you woke, you heard angry voices.
Pain still ruled you, making it impossible to open your eyes and see who was arguing.
Was it about you? Surely not, you aren't important enough to argue over.
One voice caught your ears.
The voice you had loved over the past year, clinging to every word that dropped from the lips it belonged to.
Now, it aggravated the bond, the jagged edges scraping your soul and bringing you back into your body.
Pain. It flowed through you like the blood in your veins, controlling every fiber of your being.
"She can hear you!" A voice hissed- twin.
Feyre's here. I'm safe.
More words, hushed this time, before a cool hand brushed over your brow.
"Go back to sleep, sissy. We'll still be here when you come back," Feyre whispered into your mind softly, and moments later you fell back into the dark, comforted by the presence of your other half.
The third time you woke, you could hear three heartbeats thudding close by, and one more that was muffled, distant.
Your body ached, and just clenching your fingers lightly sent shooting pain up your arms, a soft whimper leaving your lips.
The ragged bond in your chest still chafed, pain flowing out from it with every inhale and exhale you took.
You opened your eyes, only to close them tightly at the bright faelights illuminating the room. You slowly opened them once more, squinting until your eyes adjusted.
There was a warm weight on your right arm, and when you turned your head carefully you saw Feyre's face, eyes shut as she slept.
It looked like the first time she had slept in weeks.
"Feyfey?" You tried to ask, instead coughing as your dry throat protested speaking.
Feyre was awake in an instant, blinking sleep from her eyes. Her blue orbs met yours, tears filling them in the next moment.
"Oh, Y/N," she cried, her tattooed hands clutching your face gently. "I love you."
A weak smile graced your lips. "I love you too," you said, your voice rough.
"Oh, here," Feyre said, raising your head and tilting a glass of water so that you could drink as much as you wanted, her eyes never leaving yours. "Better?" She asked once you were done, gently placing your head back on the pillow it was resting on.
"Yes..." You whispered.
The distant heartbeat picked up in pace, and the bond in your chest flared again, causing you to clutch at your heart with a hand, even as your muscles protested the action.
You carefully surveyed the room, finding that Nesta and Elain were both sleeping much like Feyre had been, heads resting on the bed as the slumped over in their chairs.
All of your sisters, here at your bedside.
After you had... Had...
"How are you feeling?" Feyre asked gently, drawing you out of your thoughts. She always had known when you were spiraling into your anxieties.
"Not... great..." You said quietly.
That felt like the understatement of the century.
Your body was sore all over, your bones themselves aching just from existing. And the bond...
It was awful.
"I can give you more pain medicine in a bit, but Madja... She said that you might have lasting pains, from... From falling," Feyre said shakily, tears spilling from her eyes.
You just nodded, barely registering the information as Nesta awoke, her back straightening as she blinked her eyes into focus. Tears filled them when she saw you.
"Y/N, you're... You're awake," Nesta sniffled, a noise you rarely heard from your aloof sister. "Don't ever do that again. You are too important," Nesta said heatedly before placing a soft kiss on your forehead. "Alright?"
"Alright," you agreed, pleased to see the smallest of smiles grace your eldest sister's lips.
Elain stirred last, her chocolate brown eyes welling with tears when they landed on you, her disheveled hair a testament to how worried she was.
You remembered Azriel's words. I think it’s best for you to stay away from Elain and I. I wouldn’t want you getting territorial and ripping my love’s throat out or anything.
How could he have ever thought you would harm Elain? Your sisters were the most important anything in the world to you.
"Bunny, you're awake," she said tearily, her hands grasping for yours over the blanket. "I'm so, so sorry, I had no idea that he was your-"
"It's fine, 'Lainey. I made sure no one knew," you said, cutting her off. "It's not your fault."
Tears fell from her eyes anyways, and you knew she was still blaming herself.
"I want... I want someone to want me for me. Not a bond 'Lainey. He... He would never have looked my way, even if you had rejected his advances," you whispered, thinking to his cruel words before he had rejected you.
Feyre sighed, and you knew she was contemplating whether or not to kill the shadowsinger for hurting you.
"Cuddle with me? Like the old days?" You asked quietly, hoping beyond hope that you wouldn't have to deal with the sting of rejection from your own sisters.
"Of course, sissy," Feyre replied, already peeling back the covers to slide underneath, her arms wrapping tightly around you.
"For as long as you want, munchkin," Nesta said, following Feyre's lead and snuggling up to you.
That left Elain, who hesitated.
"Come in, 'Lainey. It wouldn't be the same without you," you reassured, your worries eased when she laid behind Feyre, one of her arms looping over to meet your hands.
The four of you fell asleep, snuggled together just as you had for so many years. This time to hold you together, your sisters acting as the glue that keeps you from shattering further as your ears listened to that fourth heartbeat, singing to you as it does to the shadows.
🤍🤍💙🤍🤍
"You need to get up," a voice said, slightly muffled by something.
"But I haven't-"
"They're all sleeping, you need to go and clean yourself up. You waiting here isn't going to help things," a third voice said.
"But what if she wants to see-"
"Then she will ask for you. Until then, you need to give some space. Go wash up. Eat something. I'll see if Feyre thinks she'll want to see you, and if she does then you can come sit in front of the door again," the third voice ordered, followed by a heavy sigh.
"Alright."
Footsteps, then quiet.
You relaxed once more, sinking into the softness of the bed and warmth of your sisters around you. Pain lanced through your body, and you wished that you had asked Feyre for more of the pain medicine before you fell back asleep.
Feyre stirred next to you, no doubt awoken by soft mental prodding from her mate to ask her if you wanted to see your... your former mate.
"You alright?" She asked quietly, attempting to not wake your eldest sisters.
You nodded. "I hurt everywhere, though," you whispered.
She pulled a vial of pain potion from... wherever she pulled things from, and tipped it into your mouth.
It tasted horrible, but the relief was near-instant, the harsh aches easing into mild discomfort for the moment.
"Thank you Feyfey."
"Of course, sissy. Go back to sleep, hmm?" Feyre suggested, laying her head back on your shoulder and letting one of her hands lock fingers with yours.
You did as she said, drifting back into the peaceful space that your sisters' presences brought, the feeling of their souls next to yours as comforting as ever.
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Your sisters were speaking softly when you awoke next, still cozied in between the three of them.
"If he keeps waiting outside, I'll kill him," Nesta hissed quietly, and Feyre shook her head in response.
"You can't do that, Nesta. You can punch him, sure, but I think Rhys would be upset if you killed him."
"Then I'll rip his heart out- oh wait, he doesn't have one.”
"Nesta, stop. Y/N's awake," Elain said. "How are you doing?" She asked, a nervous lilt to her voice.
"I'm alright. What are you two arguing about?" You asked, eyes flitting from Nesta to Feyre.
"Azriel is outside. He refuses to leave," Nesta seethed.
"Oh... What does he want?"
Feyre sighed before explaining. "He wants to beg for your forgiveness, or something along those lines."
You let that sink in. He wanted to apologize... But why?
"I... I suppose I can see him now."
"Are you sure? We can make him go away. You never have to see him again, if you don't want to," Feyre offered, but you shook your head.
You needed to do this.
"If you're sure, bunny..." Elain said, waiting until you nodded in confirmation before climbing out from underneath the covers. "We'll be waiting right outside."
Feyre and Nesta followed her after helping you to sit up against the mound of pillows behind you.
"Let me know if you need us to remove him," Feyre said, tapping a finger against her temple.
"I will, Feyfey. You should all get some food, okay? You need to eat," you insisted, the three of them caving when you narrowed your eyes at them.
"Alright. But if he does anything..." Nesta seethed.
"You'll be the first to know, Nes. I promise."
Your sisters shuffled out of the room, each of them glaring at Azriel as they passed him. Nesta even hissed at him, something that made you laugh internally.
You couldn't laugh out loud, though, as your former mate was standing before you now, looking worse for wear.
"Y/N, I wanted to apologize to you," he paused, waiting a moment to see if you would react. "I feel awful about rejecting you without so much as a thought, without considering the blessing that the Mother has granted us. I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I'm here begging for it anyways. I want you, Y/N. I want to love you, and love the children we will have together. I want you to give us a chance, please.”
The entire time he was speaking, you merely stared at him, wondering how you had fallen for this male. Had it solely been the bond forcing your heart? Or were you now so disillusioned that you couldn't imagine loving him?
"Y/N?" Azriel asked, once you had been silent for a minute.
"You are begging for forgiveness? And that's the best you have to offer?"
Azriel blinked at you, confusion clouding his eyes. "What?"
"That's your apology? You call that an apology?" You scoffed, rage flooding your veins, put there by the bloodied bond in your chest. "You told me that five hundred years of waiting was a waste. You told me that I could not compare to Elain, you thought that me being your mate was a joke, you told me that I was not. Your. Mate. And yet here you are now, 'begging' for forgiveness by informing me that you rejected me without a thought, and that we will have children. You are right on one count. You do not deserve my forgiveness. And you will never have it. Now leave," you demanded, satisfied at the disbelieving look on his face.
He thought you would give in so easily? That you would crumble under a few kind words?
He was wrong.
You are an Archeron. You might not have the typical fire exuded by your twin and eldest sister, but you possessed the stubbornness that ran through your bloodline.
After ten seconds, he still hadn't moved, just staring at you as his wings drooped to the floor.
Perhaps he was beginning to feel the pain that he had condemned you to when he had rejected you 'without so much as a thought' as he had put it.
"Get out," you told him again. "Or I'll let Nesta tear you to pieces."
Still, he didn't move.
You sent your mind out to Feyre's as best you could, tapping on the strong walls of her mind. Can you send Rhys? Or someone? He's not leaving, you whispered to her.
Rhys is on his way, sissy, Feyre replied. Nesta too, as soon as Rhys stood she followed, Feyre sighed into your mind, causing you to laugh softly to her.
That's alright, I threatened him with Nesta.
The two of them burst into the room a moment later, Nesta grabbing your former mate by the hair and dragging him into the hall, faster than you would have thought possible.
Rhys stared at them in confusion for a moment before turning to you.
"Are you alright, Y/N?"
You nodded. "I'm fine, I said everything I wanted to. I just needed him to leave."
Rhys bobbed his head in understanding. "I'll make sure he won't bother you, rest assured. He will be banned from Velaris until you're ready, if you're ever ready," Rhys said softly, a look of understanding in his eyes. "I'm sure Feyre and Elain are headed back with food for you, but I'll make sure something is sent to you no matter what, hmm? Feel better, Y/N." Before he left, he kissed the crown of your head gently, and it was the first time you considered him to be your brother.
Only a couple of minutes after he left, Feyre and Elain returned to your room, both of them carrying a tray of food.
The three of you ate for a few minutes before Nesta reappeared, looking rather satisfied with herself.
"Have you eaten?" Nesta asked you, but before you could respond asked "Has she eaten?" to Feyre and Elain.
You wrinkled your nose at her in amusement. "I'm eating, Nes. You should eat something too, you didn't have much time."
She stared at you, waiting to eat until you had taken a bite yourself, proving that you were eating.
The four of you ate together until all of the food was gone, and you were certain that they had made you eat the majority of it when you laid back, feeling absolutely stuffed.
"Will you... Will you sleep with me again tonight? Not right now, but... later?" You asked hesitantly.
"Of course we will, munchkin. I think we might protest if you said you didn't want us with you tonight," Nesta said softly.
You smiled at her, pleased by the caring side of your eldest sister that you were finally experiencing.
"For now, I think I'd like a bath," you said, the feeling of having slept for multiple days covering your skin.
"I think I can help with that," Feyre said, and began lifting you from the bed.
"Feyre, I can walk!" You giggled as she brought you into the bathroom.
"I know, and you can test it once you've soaked in hot water. Madja said you may have some difficulty using your muscles for a while. So just be patient with me, I don't want you to get hurt. Okay?" Her face held such tenderness that you couldn't help but agree.
"Okay."
🤍🩵🩶🩷🤍
Six months.
Six months, and you felt like your life had changed completely.
The first two months had been absolute hell, with you learning to tame the shattered bond in your chest, slowly filing its edges down into something that still hurt, but wasn't all-consuming. You had also had to relearn to walk, write, swim, sew, knit, crochet- basically everything that you loved to do.
It was hell, but you would do it all again.
Because you had re-perfected your needlework in the next two, embroidering beautiful patterns onto dresses for the upcoming parties of the spring season, earning enough money to rent a small house in the Palace of Thread and Jewels.
Your own house.
All your own, to decorate as you liked. Of course you had help from your sisters and their mates, the seven of you working to transform the slightly run down house into your pastel dream home.
In the next two months, you had started a business with your new friend- Alina. She had been the junior dressmaker at the shop you had been working for, and the two of you became fast friends.
You were able to work in silence together, drawing peace from your work and each other's presences. And when you talked, you had so much in common. Both of you were... Not confident, for various reasons. And both of you fiercely loved your families, willing to sacrifice anything for them. You both enjoyed reading, but preferred soft romances compared to the smutty fare that Nesta enjoyed.
It turned out that Alina, too, wanted to be loved for who she was, rather than a bond. You found kinship in the story of her mate, the way he had only looked at her differently once the bond had snapped.
The two of you had bonded so much that when the owner of the shop you worked at had fired Alina for no good reason, you had quit in protest. Together, you opened a small shop near your home.
In only a month, the clients that preferred your and Alina's work had started frequenting your shop, leaving the both of you busy nearly every day.
It was absolutely lovely, everything that you had ever dreamed of.
Except... You still wanted to be wanted.
You shoved that desire down deep at every chance, throwing yourself into your work until your body protested, fingers cramping while you worked by a candle in the dead of night.
Some days, though, you could hardly move. The consequences of your choice to fling yourself off of that balcony followed you like a dark cloud, waiting to pour pain onto you at any given moment.
Still, you managed to push yourself forward, taking solace in the life you had created for yourself. You could hardly imagine what life would have been like had you accepted Azriel, but you didn't think it would be a happy one.
Nothing was worse than being the choice that was not really a choice at all, rather the forces of fate.
And nothing was better than being the first choice, you'd soon learn.
Because on the first day of the final month of spring, a Tuesday at 9:53 in the morning, something wonderful happened.
Theo, a repeat customer of yours had entered the shop, holding a dress box from your shop in his hands.
When Theo had first entered your shop a little under a month ago, he had taken your breath away, so, so similarly to how Azriel used to.
His bright green eyes made you blush whenever they fell on you, and you wanted nothing more than to run your hands through his curly dark hair. And his voice! You melted at the sound, how deep and gentle it was at all times.
You would be lying if you said you didn't put extra care into each order he placed, making sure each piece was perfect for him.
He had ordered a couple of dresses from you before, both of them for his sister.
"Good morning, Theo, did your sister need something adjusted?" You asked as he set the box on the counter in front of you.
"Good morning to you, Y/N. This... This is not for my sister," Theo began, and you would almost say that he was nervous, if not for the confident smile on his lips. "This dress is for you, Y/N."
You blinked in surprise, glancing down at the box. "For me?"
"Yes, for you. I was hoping that you would join me for dinner on Friday at Sevenda's," Theo said, his eyes holding yours captive.
"Like, uhm... A date?" You squeaked, blood rushing to your cheeks.
Theo nodded, his smile widening. "Yes, a date. Are you interested?"
You nodded, not trusting your voice, and a matching smile to his graced your lips.
"I'll pick you up at seven, if that works with you, sweetheart."
"O-okay," you said nervously. "I'll see you then, Theo."
At the sound of you saying his name, Theo blushed lightly, your eyes just catching it before he turned to leave the shop.
"Oh, and you don't have to wear the dress if you don't want to, but... I think you'll look even more beautiful in it then you do now," Theo said sincerely, leaving the shop after flashing a bright smile at you once more.
You covered your face with your hands, your face flushed and grinning.
Theo had asked you out! You couldn't wait to tell Alina and your sisters, Feyre especially. She would be over-the-moon happy for you, knowing how much of a crush you have on him.
Luckily for you, your weekly sister tea time was later today, and you would have something exciting to tell them.

Cassian is a Nosy Busybody Who Can’t Keep to Himself
Summary: Cassian knows Azriel is seeing someone, but he keeps denying it and Cassian is determined to find out who he’s seeing
Author’s note: my personal headcanon is that Cassian is EXTREMELY nosy and loves knowing everyone’s personal business 💕 He’s just like me 💕
Azriel was seeing someone, Cassian was sure of it. The others think he’s being a bit too obsessed with the shadowsinger, but Cassian has a gut feeling that Az is seeing someone and purposefully hiding them.
Over the years, they’ve all had lovers and flings that they kept to themselves, mostly because they didn’t matter much and were casual, short-term things. This time feels different. Cassian thinks Az has been seeing someone secretly for months.
Az seems happier, he seems more reluctant to stay out drinking, he even delegated assignments that were “too long” to others.
Cassian needs to know who this fae is and whether or not they’re good enough for his beloved brother.
Unfortunately for Cassian, Azriel is the night court’s spymaster. He can’t exactly follow him around. He’s tried it. Azriel just maneuvered in and out of random shops, making Cassian go insane trying to find him.
He has concocted what he thinks is the perfect plan.
-
Cassian slept on the floor below Azriel’s. No one wanted to share a floor with Cassian because he “snores too loudly” or whatever they tell him. Fine by him, he gets an entire floor to himself.
The past few nights Cassian has been staying in one of the other rooms on his floor - the room directly underneath Azriel’s. He’s been staying up to see if he can hear any noises coming from above.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, he hardly heard anything last night, except what he had convinced himself was two pairs of footsteps at one point. He decides it’s now or never when he wakes up, racing up the stairs to Azriel’s floor. He knows he has to be quick - his stupid brother’s stupid shadows alert him to any disturbance, so the time is now.
Cassian runs to Az’s room, takes a split second to catch his breath, then shoves the door open, finding Azriel waking up in bed. And a mysterious shape next to him under the covers.
“Cassian,” Azriel states, “what in the Cauldron are you doing here?”
Cassian can’t take his eyes off the shape under the covers, but he realizes if he wants to find out more, he has to keep his true intentions of coming a secret.
“Well I could ask you the same.”
Mother boil him, that was definitely not the right response.
“This is, in fact, my room. If you come by after lunch I’ll provide you with a tour.”
At that, Cassian begins to look around the room more, noticing mugs on the twin nightstands that surround Azriel’s bed. On the nightstand closer to the amorphous blob under the covers, was a stack of four books, one of which looks very familiar.
“Azriel, I didn’t know you could read.” Cassian states, trying to rile something of the shadowsinger.
“Piss off, Cassian. Of course I can read - it’s you who everyone thinks is illiterate.” Azriel was getting more and more annoyed by this intrusion, worried about if you were still asleep by his side or awake for this. He had just enough time before Cassian plowed down the door to cover you with his duvet.
“This book looks familiar. Isn’t it (y/n)’s? She’s going to kill you if you get ring marks on her book. She almost filleted me alive when I bent one of the pages of a book before.”
At hearing your name, you stirred just a tiny bit, both Illyrians going still at your movement.
Cassian looks down the bed, seeing your foot jutting out from under the covers.
“Az, I never knew you had such small, pale feet.”
“I hide them in my shoes, stop looking at my feet you weirdo. Why exactly are you here again?”
Cassian cannot come up with a good enough lie for why he was there. The room is silent, until he decides on, “You’ve been sleeping in too much recently - wanted to make sure you were coming to training today.”
Azriel narrowed his eyes, seeing right through the lie. “Cassian, training is in 2 hours.”
“Well, I know you like having time to eat breakfast and wake up before training, so I’ll just help you pull the covers off-“
Cassian reached for the duvet, and Azriel grabbed Cassian’s hand, squeezing it so tightly, the general was afraid he’d lose circulation.
“Don’t you dare do that.”
And Cassian has the upper hand.
“And, pray tell Az, why not?”
The blanket begins to shift, and a hand comes out from under the blanket, pulling the blanket down just enough for your messy hair and your eyes to be seen by Cassian.
“Because it’s really cold outside of the blanket.”
Cassian was gobsmacked. His jaw literally dropped, and he kept pointing between the two of you, going “you.. and you!”
He heard you giggle underneath the blanket. “Yes, Cassian.”
Cassian, still shocked at this revelation, could only think to ask “Was last night the first time?”
“Not that my sexual endeavors require your knowledge, Cas, but we’ve been seeing each other for about 8 months now.” Azriel remarks, a smirk growing on his face.
“EIGHT MONTHS?!” Cassian bellows, “you’ve been sleeping around for 8 months and DIDN’T TELL ME UNTIL TODAY?”
You had never seen Cassian so upset before.
“Well,” you say, “at first we wanted it to be a secret from everyone, because you all are so nosy,” at which Azriel makes a pointed face at Cassian, “and then a few months ago we thought it would be funny to see how long before everyone found out so we started being a bit less secretive.”
Cassian begins thinking back to the past few months. He recalls going to Rita’s with everyone one night, and in his drunken haze he swore he saw you nestled into Azriel’s side while everyone else was dancing, but he chalked it up to drunken lenses. There was another day where you were just coated in Azriel’s scent, but he chalked it up to the flight the two of you embarked on earlier that day.
“That’s why for a few months neither of you would come out drinking with us!”
You both nodded.
“Oh gods, I can’t wait to tell everyone - RHYS!” He starts screeching for Rhys, who winnows in very quickly, looking very pleased with himself.
“Yes, Cas?” Rhys smirked, knowing where this was headed, and very excited to watch the outcome.
“Look! Him! And-and her! For MONTHS!” Cassian says, pointing at the two of you still in bed.
“Yes Cassian, I know.”
Cassian turns to his brother, “they’ve been hiding it for months, the b- what do you mean you know?”
“I know.” Rhys says, his smirk taking up most of his face.
“How’d you find out?”
“I woke up in the middle of the night wanting cookies and I found them making out in the kitchen.” You slowly sink back under the covers a little in embarrassment, remembering Rhys making his presence known with a quiet cough as you were kissing Azriel in the kitchen. The shit-eating grin on his face as he asked “midnight snack?” is one you won’t forget.
“Wait, does anyone else know?” Cas asks, putting his hands on his hips in indignation.
Rhys puts his hand on Cassian’s shoulders. “Everyone else knows, you were the last to find out.”
The look Cassian gave was pure offense. He had never felt so offended in his life! Being the last to know about you and Azriel. He loved both of you dearly, and he felt a little offended you didn’t want to tell him.
“Cassian,” you say, as if you also possessed the gifts to read minds that Rhysand does, “we love you, we just know how much you love finding things out, so we thought you’d love to snoop around and find out. If I weren’t naked under this blanket, I’d come hug you.”
Cassian gives you a suggestive look and winks, causing Azriel’s wings to wrap around you in a cocoon.
“Now that everyone knows, can you both please leave us alone?” He huffs, wrapping his arms around you as well.
“Does Rita know?” Cassian asks, acting oblivious to you two clearly wanting this public spectacle done with.
“No, she doesn’t” you say, peaking your eyes out over one of Az’s wings.
With that, Cassian bustles out the door, excitement coursing through his veins.
“He’s like a dog with a bone,” you laugh, “he’s precious.”
“You two do know he’s going to tell all of Velaris right?” Rhys says, reaching to close the door.
“Aww let him have it, he’s just excited.” You say, nuzzling into Azriel’s chest as Rhys shuts the door.
Walking through the streets of Velaris later, Cassian truly made the rounds telling everyone, with people offering you congratulations and happy tidings on your relationship. Azriel wasn’t very fond of everyone knowing, but he found it incredibly sweet how happy they all were for the two of you.

His Job | Azriel x Reader
Summary: You get fired from your job but it just so happens your Shadowsinger is always there to comfort you. (Requested by anon)
Pairing: Azriel x Gender Neutral! Reader
Warnings: losing a job… fluff… that’s about it!
You were exhausted as you walked into the townhouse. After spending all day busting your ass in the museum archives, looking for a tiny piece of paper your boss needed for an “important” meeting, you were called into his office. He did things like this all the time. He made you run around the museum, city, Cauldron, even the Court sometimes, just to find one specific artifact. And chances were it was in his office or on loan. Which would have been logged properly if you were allowed to do your actual job and not just be an errand creature.
You never complained, though. You loved your job. You loved being around the old Fae artifacts from thousands of years ago. Granted, a lot of it wasn’t in great condition. But that was what you wanted to work on. If your boss ever let you.
You would air your frustrations to Azriel every week, over wine. He would do the same to you about his job. It was therapeutic. And it never came with advice on how to make it better or how to improve it. It was a simple venting session.
Tonight, you were going to act like it was wine night. You were at the edge of tears.
You loved your job. You loved everything about it other than the few tasks your boss had you run around for. And even that normally ended in you learning something new. But when your boss invited you into his office today…
“I’m letting you go.” He said simply, not even request you sit down.
You blinked, waiting for him to continue. “Letting me go… home?”
“I don’t care where you go… but don’t come back here.” He said.
“Sir… I’m sorry… are you… are you firing me?” You asked.
He barely glanced up from the papers on his desk when he responded, “Yes. Please leave.”
So you packed up your belongings from your desk and left. And came here trying to hold in your tears.
“Sweetheart? Are you back… Hey, what’s wrong?” Azriel’s soothing, concerned voice traveled down the stairs.
“I- I…” I took a shaky breath, needing to tell him before you broke down and he went to kill anyone you came in contact with. “I got fired.” You said, letting out that long-awaited sob.
Azriel frowned, pulling you close to his chest when you almost fell down. “Oh… sweetheart I’m so sorry.” He whispered and stroked the back of your head, pulling you tighter to his chest.
When your sobs had subsided, he pulled away slightly. “Let me take care of you. You want a bath?” He asked, his hazel eyes still concerned, but full of love. With a nod from you, he picked you up and carried you to the bathing room. He set you on the counter as he filled the tub and then poured some sweet smelling oils into it. He helped you undress before lifting you again and setting you in the tub.
Next, he undressed, getting in with you. “Just relax baby.” He whispered, your back to his chest. You relaxed into him, a small smile coming to your face as he grabbed a sponge to wash your body. He gave you a back massage, whispering sweet nothings into your ear whenever he hears a small sniffle from your nose.
And then he helped you out, wrapping a fluffy towel around you as he grabbed your favorite pajamas: one of his t-shirts (that no matter what was always way too big for you) and your favorite sweats.
He led you back downstairs, made your favorite tea, and set you on the couch. Then he told you about his day. He babysat Nyx until an hour before you came home. And, you learned, Elain brought your favorite cake over. Something about sending that you would need it.
So you had tea and cake… and when the tea was gone, you had wine.
You were slowly starting to drift off with your head in Azriel’s lap when you heard him mumble something. “What was that, love?” You asked quietly.
“I never liked your boss anyway. You deserve better.” He whispered, pushing your hair out of your face. Your eyes fluttered open, smiling when you saw the love in his eyes again. All directed to you.
“Oh yeah?” You asked.
“Yeah… and now you can come work for the project I’ve been talking about.” He said. “Rhys wants to start collecting artifacts for the library in the House of Wind… a separate area more like it. I think you would be perfect to direct it.” He said.
