Thi Bui's The Best We Could Do absolutely broke me. I was weeping openly through most of the last chapter. And the illustration is simultaneously beautiful and intricately woven into the storytelling.

They had a kind of mutual unspoken gender envy situation as kids where Ginger liked doing 'boy stuff' more while Bunny liked doing 'girl stuff'; both of which were strict secrets from their parents ofc . So they hid their toys in each other's rooms and pretended to be into them to cover for each other 🧡 I imagine Bunny was really into mlp or smthn similiar as a lamb and had to ask *Ginger* to ask their parents for an mlp thing for Christmas so their dad wouldn't berate him for wanting a 'girl's toy'

mighta made a post about this before but GOD nothing is quite like using good and high quality tools for your job, no matter what it is.

I do a lot of electronics repair, dis- and reassembly, and other kinds of precision maintenance so I hugely profit off of well built screwdrivers and stuff.

Got myself some really fancy precision tweezers for my birthday last year, originally listed for 35 but the seller offered me a discount to 25€ so I couldn't say no

Been loving them ever since, every day I have an excuse to use these is a good day and they haven't let me down.

Beautiful little things. I did admittedly break off about 2mm worth of point from one side, but I reshaped and sharpened them with a find grind stone to be the same length and so they close at the right point.

Better than the standard I think! I use these for a lot more "heavy" precision work, such as poking against small connectors or wiggling out screws still holding onto the last thread rotation meaning the tip being slightly beefier and not as slender as it was is an improvement for me.

I'd never use these to lever, wedge, or pry anything that requires force and they're so so lovely to work with.

jewelry making has a surprisingly good effort to what-ppl-will-pay ratio, which is nice, but i always feel at least somewhat guilty when someone gives me $10 for earrings that were $3 of materials and 10 minutes of work
