Peter sits nervously on the edge of the bed. He's contemplating on backing out of this whole thing -especially when Tony walks in with a gallon of Crisco.

"Ready baby?" Tony asks, setting the can down on the floor before kneeling in front of Peter.

"Yeah," Peter breathed. "Yeah, I'm ready."

"You should go to the bathroom before we get started," Tony added, as if it was an afterthought. "This isn't like getting fucked. Theres gonna be a lot of pressure you're not used to."

Peter nods and Tony moves back, allowing him to stand up.

This was his idea, but he was still nervous. He was getting a whole hand up his ass. And to think he'd only just lost his virginity three months ago.

Peter goes pee before returning to the bed, his cock still slightly sensitive from their earlier romp in the sheets.

"Alright, baby, hop on up, and show me that pretty little pucker," Tony grinned.

"Dont call it that," Peter grunted, pulling a face as he climbed onto the bed, facing Tony before laying down.

Tony cocks an eyebrow, looking challenged and loving it. Peter grunts and drops his head back to the mattress.

"Okay, I'm ready," he said, ending the conversation. Tony grunts in confirmation, and then Peter feels fingers breaching him.

He's already loose from being fucked into the mattress for the past two hours, so Tony's able to get three fingers in easily.

"I need you to tell me if you need me to stop, okay?" Tony said, serious now. "I mean it Peter, if it hurts too much or you feel wrong, you gotta tell me."

"I will," Peter promised. "I'm okay, keep going."

So Tony does. Its easy for Peter to fall into a relaxed daze, Tony thrusting softly in and out of him, three fingers working Peter's asshole loose.

When he adds his pinky, Peter grunts a little. Tony stills as Peter shifts on the bed, trying to get used to the extra finger. They've only ever gone with three.

"I'm good," Peter breathed a little while later, once the slight burn settled. He can already feel an odd pressure at the base of his spine.

Tony continues to push in, rocking his hand in and out of Peter, from the tips of his fingers to his second knuckles.

He does this until both of them can feel Peter's asshole loosen even more.

"You're doing so good, baby," Tony praised, pushing in to the third knuckles. Peter feels his body tighten, muscles locking up and he whimpers.

"M'okay," Peter gasped out seconds later. "I'm okay, just, just hold on."

Tony doesn't move, allows Peter a moment to catch his breath. He's frozen until Peter nods for him to continue.

Tony kisses at the back of Peter's thigh before slowly pushing in further.

His knuckles are the largest part of his hand so far, and it feels like Peter's being ripped open, even as Tony curls his palm a little to make the width not as wide.

"You're doing so well," Tony murmured, repeating himself like a mantra Peter clings to like oxygen.

"Breathe for me," Tony continued. "You gotta breathe, Peter, or we'll stop."

Peter forces himself to take a breath in, then let it out. He repeats this a few times before his body locks up again, Tony's knuckles finally pushing past the wall of muscle.

"Ah!" He yelps, body tensing all over and breath lodged in his throat.

Tony pulls his hand back, so only his fingers are still inside. It gives Peter a little relief. Neither move until Peter's settled back against the bed.

The second go wasn't as painful, but it still had Peter biting down on his lip hard to keep from wailing out.

Everything felt just on the right side of unbearable.  The pressure, the stretch. But Peter knew this would be painful. He wanted it anyway. He could do it.

The Crisco felt oddly thick, not quite like lube, but still slick enough to make Tony's hand glide in and out of him.

"I'm going to add the thumb," Tony murmured, mouthing at Peter's thigh. All he could do was nod.

He felt so overwhelmed. He didnt know if it was pain or pleasure or a mix of the two, but he couldn't stop the slight tremble from taking over his body.

"D-do it," Peter begged. He was frantic to find some sort of relief, but also needing more.

The burn had Peter's thighs shaking and he let out a reedy cry, tears welling in his eyes.

"Please- Tony, please-" his breath hitched as he blubbered. Tony continued to push in, thumb adding to the stretch.

"Do you need to stop?" Tony asked softly, looking up at Peter, hand stilling. "We can take a break."

"No-no! I'm oka-okay, I'm okay," Peter cried, gripping his legs even harder. "I'm okay, ke-keep going."

Tony pushes in further, and Peter shouts when his hand pops in past the rim. His muscles contract around Tony's wrist, and Peter shivers, teeth clattering. He clenches his jaw to stop.

Neither of them move for a long time. Tony strokes at Peter's hip, patiently waiting for Peter.

Peter chokes on a sob or two, mind having a hard time processing anything but the pain he feels. Hes almost frantic, but he forces himself to take breaths -even if they are short and quick pants that leaves him more dizzy than relaxed.

"You're doing so well, so well, baby. Look at you, you've got me all the way inside, just like I knew you could," Tony murmurs, not moving even a centimeter inside him.

It still feels too much. Thd pain shifts from dull to sharp, keeping Peter from ever fully relaxing.

"It-it hurts," he broke, sobs wracking his body, making the pain worse. "To-too much, Tony, I can't-"

"Shh, its okay, Peter. We can be done, you did so good," Tony said, setting his free hand on Peter's stomach.

Peter wonders briefly through the pain if he can feel his own hand through Peter's stomach muscles.

But that thought is gone almost as quickly as it comes, because Tony's beginning to pull out again.

Peter clenches his jaw so hard his jaw clicks and his teeth ache. He tries to hold in his pained moans and whimpers, but he can't help it. He knows Tony's gotta get his hand out, but it hurts so bad.

"Shh, its okay baby," Tony murmurs, continuing to pull himself out. Peter openly sobs now, body trembling.

Tony's knuckles pop free, and its like a damn opens. Peter's body sags, the pain leaving so only an ache remains.

Tony's instantly above him, smoothing sweat drenched hair from his temples and kissing at his cheeks.

Peter lets go of his legs, curling shaking arms around Tony's neck and hiding his tear soaked face in his shoulder.

"You did so good," Tony murmured. "You're so brave, baby."

Peter lets out a frantic little chuckle. He can't help the shivering, but Tony's hands brushing along his sides help.

"I didn't- I didn't do it," Peter said, voice weak and wet.

"You did," Tony nodded, pulling back just enough to kiss him on the mouth. "You got me all the way to the wrist."

"Yeah, but we didn't finish," Peter said, allowing Tony's weight to anchor him. He feels like he's gaping open.

"Baby," Tony huffed with a smile, kissing Peter again. "This isn't a porno. It takes a long time to get to the point where I can fuck you on my hand. You've already taken so much for your first time, I'm so proud of you."

Peter can't help but blush at that, body still in shock, trembling under Tony.

"We-we can try again," Peter said.

Tony shook his head.

hiiii bestie i would love to hear some explanations on some fave parts of that playlist that youre particularly proud of.. spoiler free or not your choice..

OMG hi sam thank you for enabling to talk about music.......theres a lot of parts of this playlist that i think are SUPER fun which means it got long so ill put it under a cut

hands down my favorite part of the WHOLE is actually the very first song being rounds by the oh hellos, which looks completely out of place but is INCREDIBLY plot relevant for a reason that i will keep secret for now. but i promise its so fucking cool

blessed are the peacemakers of red dead fame represents the first leg of the journey when it's just samira on her own as she heads from her spire to a small coastal town to the west, but by leaving her spire she's essentially doomed this town already. so very good sorta ominous traveling vibes. storm king by big tree directly after it is also part of the same vibes (my first autumn away from home/since i went away for good + no driving to storm king this year/ i give instead my stern appeal)

joan of arc by arcade fire is at the center of a whole segment thats sort of the earliest part of all 4 of them traveling together when things are still pretty decent, and represents the other threes completely misplaced faith in samira at the beginning. it's the start of a WHOLE cycle of conflict between the whole group that centers around sam's leadership and her pretending she knows what she's doing at all (which she doesn't) so joan of arc is half what's happening then and half foreshadowing in a fun way

the chunk below is the first big reveal of the story, when they essentially get to the place they've been traveling to the whole time and start to realize a few things about the nature of the coming apocalypse and the world they're in. it's a lot of instrumental, but infiltration and exfiltration bookend their journey into a now-defunct spire (represented by catchpole station, at the start of the playlist sam's tower was represented by the song catbird station also off the oxenfree soundtrack) and realize both why spires are becoming defunct and what exactly the coming apocalypse is (vignette visions, which is delightfully eerie and a good mix of ambient and these really intense synth hits and alignment which has. startlingly relevant lyrics). ghosts in the static, night zombies, and the universe is going to catch you are the (very literal to the song name ghost in the static) aftermath of this sequence

two scenes san fermin into proximity night in the woods is where the story truly starts to collapse - two scenes (which im interpreting by vibes and not exact lyrics) is where two stories that have essentially been being shown at the same time throughout the story despite the fact one of them happened nearly 200 years ago begin to sort of collapse into each other (the eponymous 2 scenes lol), and it also represents a real tension between the goals of the various members of the group (these goals are the other two scenes, essentially), which reaches a breaking point at proximity when the group splits up. followed up by coda: a burn scar by los campesinos, with the relevant lyric 'i can't believe you choose the mountains every time i chose the sea'.

from the sea to the land by sea power is in the middle of the next journey they go on when they get back together (sam makes some BIG fucking mistakes and essentially says ok like for real this time if we dont do something were fucked i know youre all mad at me but) and the vibes of this journey are waaaaay different and i think the trumpets in this song are a pretty good marker of that vibe. this song is just so gorgeous

the goose and the wren by hop along has always been a HUGELY important song for this project, and it gets put riiiiiight before the climax kicks off. sort of a reflection of where we've been so far and one final bit of desperation before the finale section

the finale section starts with approching the shimmer from the annihilation soundtrack and goes through the end of the playlist!!! (my fave part of the annihilation soundtrack is the alternating use of synths and guitar, and the only other song from the soundtrack on here is the watchtower, a more guitar heavy one thats at the start which i think is fun). both for spoiler reasons and because i dont totally know what will happen i cant talk about this bit tooooo specifically but i really love this little instrumental sequence thats the true climax and is all bangers. despite the 3 songs named for mountains this part does take place in a cave. the little piano bit at the end of castaways is one of my fave parts of the outer wilds soundtrack and here it represents a very similar thing to what it does in that game so <3

theres only 3 garages songs on this playlist and one of them does get to be in the finale segment (after the part above by a few songs) i wonder who for a long long time could be about 🤔🤔🤔

the very last three songs on the playlist are road to hell 2 from hadestown, the beach (7am) from oxenfree, and what happens now from interstellar. road to hell 2 is SPECIFICALLY for that 'to know how it ends/and still begin to sing it again/as if it might turn out this time' because thats the line of all time and also because. well things get a little weird towards at the end of s/n. on the same note, the beach (7am) represents a similar thing to what it reflects at the end of oxenfree (like i said we're getting weird) and what happens now is sort of literal to the title!!! also because its a gorgeous fucking song to end on.

Summer In Jersey - The Garden State Hip Hop Hour’s Richard Scott

In a land full of snakes, the Garden State is far from one.

Composed of only free spirits who "ride that wave" at all cost, New Jerseyans put on for their hometowns. As a union, they mostly have sleepless nights and quick snooze sessions throughout the day. But alone, they come from different backgrounds that helped them grow.

Even so, there is one thing that all residents can agree on: Summer In Jersey lives up to all of New Jersey's hype.

When you tune into Summer In Jersey, expect songs that highlight New Jersey's undying pride and summer functions. As one part of the compilation references to the club (or klerb as others might say), the others fall in line as beach, flex or nightclub anthems. Besides this, Summer In Jersey carries a three-part skit by The Infinite Nudist. Essentially its all about a friend who is convincing another to go with him to the beach. Then, a girl whos fed up with his distant ways as they go to the shore and it closes off with a late-night "You Up?" call from a friend who tries to convince the other to leave and go to a lituation.

A few notable tracks like "Mexico Bity (Cliquot Mix)", "Dollar Sign Malc", "Sorry Not Sorry", "Maria", "Can I Call You', "Black Pool Party" and "Invited" help tourist get the jist of what it's like to live in a goal-driven yet party oriented state. The 21 piece collective is curated by The Garden State Hip Hop Hour's boss man, Richard Scott who sought to make a timeless summer tape that everyone can enjoy.

Cued into a section of every song, Siri does her part in announcing that it's a "Garden State Hi-Hop Hour Exclusive."

The first song "Valentino" by Chad B is moreso a flex track that seperates itself with self-reflection and words of encouragement. One reason why he's able to shine is because of the daily grind. Still, his success mostly stems from an undeniable skill with rhyme schemes and autotune. Following in unison is a "diamond-in-the-rough" beat that embellishes on the obstacles he's encountered. But Chad B teaches all that there is a silver lining if you just believe and focus on yourself.

"Bad Girls Only” by Melo V is a salute to all those women working 9 to 5s! The beat is influenced by pop, techno even some R&B but the power of the track is held by Melo's strong, melodic vocal play. "Bad Girls Only" really allows women to let loose and enjoy themselves.

Fourth in line, "No Way" by Trophy Hitta Sage keeps up the momentum especially with this one liner, "Wearing yellow in the summer, you're a bright catch." Like Chad B. she uses auto-tune but its a bit more airy and passionate. At most "No Way" is a techno/hip-hop track. Trophy Hitta Sage uses the beat to speak about a girl whos got her going crazy and she just wants to know whats up.

Then theres "Invited" by BUMPPRO, a track thats quite infectious and falls as an anthem to those who don't get invited to the "off-the-wall" parties. Sonically "Invited" dabbles into rock but then carries on with futuristic synthesizers, techno and auto-tune. The song speaks about a party next door that BUMPPRO has heard about but he wasn't invited to. Nevertheless he's with the hype and is going anyway because everyone needs to let loose every now and then. The best line thus far from "Invited" is "Sounds like a sick party bouncing off the wall/ I got a case, I got a bottle. But I look fly, I came to party/f*ck those problems."

In pursuit "Act Up" by Rich Smiles stresses the projects care-free flair. It's hard to fit "Act Up" 's genre into one because of the R&B vocals at hand with a dancehall and caribbean feel. Here, he sings about a women has caught his attention but he's not looking for commitment. To have her for one night is enough and he won't let anything (or anyone) stand in his way. The highlight of "Act Up" is when Rich Smiles does a vocal run on the phrases "back up" in chorus and "act up". He really cranks up the heat with his ability to alter R&B's main focal point on love.

'Intentions" by Ganja Killz and "Zaya" take a similar approach. Driven by latin and caribbean vibes, they both use soothing vocals so listeners can feel at ease. Besides this, their native tongue pays homage to where they’re from. It’s nothing but tropical slashed with a whole lot of sultry energy.

Next, “Mexico Bity (Cliquot City)” by Killa Klerk Cobain travels back to Spanish Harlem. Killa Klerk Cobain gives glory to Jersey Club and uses it to drive the beat selection. But really, its to show listeners that people in New Jersey “really just be vibin’.” This track is solely for those who are looking to have a good time. So the tango might as well go on!

Fast forward and "Jersey Anthem" by GrooveBoyPut ft. Dougie F., Tsu Surf, Sonny Breeze, Crunch Calhoun, Albee Al Daddy pave the way for all New Jersey artists to keep going! Just like them, they've been through the struggle but still conquered. Now they're realistically living their dreams. For those who weren't there for the long haul, just know these emcees hold weight. They're coming with the pounds and don't care what others think regardless!

"For The Low" by $uper Drug$ ft.Threat Digga says it all in the title. Proficient in the ways of trapping and counting blue faces, these two only wreak havoc when someone disturbs their peace. Beat wise, "For The Low" takes the aggressive approach. These two do justice in being blunt, flexing and collecting their coins discreetly.

Now if there comes a time when a jam for night drives is needed, then "All Summer" by Dollar Sign Malc is the perfect fit. Because it gives off a 90's vibe, "All Summer" will be the only thing that shines this season. To summarize, this song fits all occasions like going to the beach or riding around the town with a shawty. Same applies for "Can I Call You?" by Najir. Even though it leans more towards a early 2000's sound, its still something with hype due to the Jersey Club influence. Najir in this song speaks about how hes in need for love and doesn't want to lose his girl.

Funnily enough, "Maria" by Smooch also speaks on a love whos got the artist stuck. Like “Mexico Bity (Cliquot City)” the beat takes a trip to South America and uses some boom bap flair. On a vocal standpoint, he hits more notes than rhymes but he excels when dabbling into the two.

"Te Fallo" by Lilskrt4k feat. Chris Cruz is similar to 'Intentions" and "Zaya". Same tropical sound with a bit of reggaeton but theres more energy and switch between Spanish and English. Seems like this song is speaking about doing anything for love also. The part that gets me is the ad-libs. It really makes one feel like they're on an island.

To say the least, "We Jus" by Bulletproof Belv tells all about summer flings. Although they're great in the moment, it's really short-lived once the leaves turn brown. "We Jus" beat leans into the trap side. But because of the background drums and snares, it distinguishes itself as a summer vibe. Overall "We Jus" is a song to play when it's just too hard to say "this is a DTF situation."

On the other hand, "Sorry Not Sorry" by GrooveBoyPut and Smoove The Rapper goes in the opposite direction. GrooveBoyPut and Smoove The Rapper are really feeling this girl but shes done them dirty so now they've started to care less. Because of the drums in back and xclophone, it categorizes itself as a summer anthem. Still, "Sorry Not Sorry" has some trap influence and can easily be mistaken as another flex or derogatory song. All in all "Sorry Not Sorry" is a song for the heartbroken. It goes hard on self-liberation and leaves no room for tears or empathy.

"See This" by DOMS is worth all the hype. Trap-ridden at its own leisure, DOMS dares anyone to step up because it'll be them against him and his boys. Equally important, DOMS flexes at an all time high. One line that speaks volume is, "Gotta make those sacrifices if you want to beat them."

Like the last track, "To the 6ix" by A-Money$ is a trap song. Aside from highlighting his luxurious trips around the world, "To the 6ix" doesn't forget to talk about the exotic women and drip that he easily obtains.

Next to last, "Can't Be" by Honey gives off a bittersweet feeling. A once mutual love, Honey catches on to her mans sneaky ways. Thus she can’t help but to be hard on herself for not noticing sooner. Following is Honey's emotionally captivating vocals and a beat that pulls heart strings.

Finally, Summer In Jersey closes off with a lucid song called "Black Pool Party (CLICQUOT MIX)" by Clicquot Geno and Jet Lyte. Contrary to the beat, these two go all in with smooth sailing vocals and confidence. Some can even go so far as to say that "Black Pool Party" is making waves. Don't believe me? Listen for yourself. This song basically speaks on how they have no time for the B.S. and how certain individuals are now trying to swim on their stream of fortune. To summarize, the R&B and hip-hop influences run deep.

“Just remember. There are leftovers in the fridge, and I left money if you want to order in,” Simon heard his mom repeat the same instructions once again over the phone. 

Nora had placed third in a cooking competition, and the semi-final was out of state. Nora was allowed two guests, and Simon had assured his family that he needed to catch up on homework anyway. 

“I’ll be fine, mom. Plus I have a credit card to order in with,”

“Just in case,” Emily replied. “We’ll see you in a couple of days, Si.”

Simon settled down to watch a film with his dinner, comfortably relaxing on the couch. 

He only got about twenty minutes into the film when he heard a loud thump from the upper floor. It was loud enough to startle Bieber who had been asleep at his feet.

“It’s probably nothing,” Simon said aloud and noticed how weird it was to be talking to himself.

Simon tried to shake the slight feeling of dread at the pit of his stomach. He had asked Leah and Nick if they wanted to stay over, but Leah had a family dinner and Nick was going out town for the weekend as well.

His first choice had been Bram, but he’d chickened out before asking him. It was a huge deal, to sleep over at each other’s place, and Simon was frankly terrified of moving too quickly. 

There were countless things to think about when spending a night together. The logistics of not treating it like a sleepover, but not making it too uncomfortable. The expectations…the bed sharing…the -

Simon’s thoughts came to an abrupt stop when he heard another unmistakable bang from upstairs.

Nothing extraordinary happened between the time that Simon’s film finished and he decided to go to bed.

A part of him wanted to sleep on the living room couch; with all the lights on and a Netflix documentary boring him to sleep, but that was stupid. The internal debate lasted a few hours, and around one in the morning, Simon decided that he’d be going upstairs.

He was going to be fine.

He made his way to his bedroom after brushing his teeth and just as he closed his bedroom door he got the fright of his life.

A massive black spider scuttled from the corner of his door frame towards him and Simon let out a piercing shriek. Simon considered himself fairly brave in most situations, but spiders were an exception.

And some fears were far greater than others…so he called his boyfriend.

Simon heard the back door opening, and his heart gave a little jump. But logic calmed his nerves, knowing it was only Bram. He’d texted Simon moments ago that he was outside, and Simon gave him the code to the garage, where they kept the spare keys.

It was a couple of minutes before Bram slowly opened the door to his bedroom and Simon quickly pointed at the light switch, where the spider currently was.

Bram took a paper cup and a flyer that he’d grabbed from the kitchen and swiftly grabbed and disposed of the arachnid in a matter of seconds.

Simon let out an audible sigh, “Thank you,”

Bram put the cup and flyer on Simon’s desk and sat on the edge of his bed. “I didn’t know you were afraid of spiders…”

“I’m terrified,” Simon said, stretching his arm out towards Bram. “Look, I’m still shaking…”

Bram took Simon’s hand in his own, hoping to calm him down. “And you’re all alone…”

“That’s not too bad,” Simon lied.

“It’s terrifying,” Bram told him. “The first time my mom did a late shift at work I didn’t sleep the entire night,”

“I’m glad you’re here…” Simon confessed.

Bram smiled, one hand still holding Simon’s and the other tapping on his leg. They sat there for a moment, neither of them saying a word and Simon could see that Bram was as unsure as he was.

And that gave him the courage to ask: “Stay the night?”

Simon hadn’t noticed before, but Bram was already in a pair of Marvel pajama pants. He must have immediately rushed out once he’d received Simon’s text, not bothering to change.

Simon loved him for that.

He made some space, and Bram put his phone next to Simon’s and lay down under the sheets.

Simon shuffled closer until he could feel the heat of Bram’s body, silently praying that he wouldn’t mess this up. But Simon would ramble when he got nervous.

“There isn’t much to do right now, is there?”

That caused Bram to erupt into a fit of giggles, something that Simon found so endearing that he joined in a matter of seconds.

“I didn’t mean it like that…” Simon mumbled after they calmed down.

“What did you mean then?”

“I don’t know…” Simon replied. “I just don’t want to mess this up and make you want to leave,”

“Believe me when I say that there’s nowhere else in the world I’d rather be,”

“Really?”

“Really,” Bram nodded, his cheek against the pillow. “And Si?”

“Yeah?”

“You shouldn’t worry about messing up,” Bram stated. “I think about that stuff all the time as well, and the fact that we worry about each other enough to care says a lot,”

“I just want to make sure,”

“Then ask…” Bram said, and Simon could feel him intertwining their fingers.

“Can I kiss you?”

“Please,”

Simon was almost unable to register the kiss. They had done it so many times but never like this.

Never laying by each other’s side knowing that it could end in slumber; yet when they’d wake, the first thing they’d see would be each other.

Never with the promise of what was to come. It was thrilling in its own way.

Bram always kissed him so tenderly, yet Simon was never able to shake the feeling of his lips long after they’d stopped. His kisses were truly magic.

Simon felt Bram’s arms trying to wrap around him, but one was stuck between Simon’s waist and the mattress.

Bram let out a small laugh, nudging at Simon to lift himself only slightly so that Bram could properly hold him. Simon complied immediately, feeling himself being pulled toward Bram’s chest.

“I love you,” Bram whispered.

“I love you too,” Simon replied, giving Bram a kiss on the nose now that they lay impossibly close.

Before Simon knew it, he fell asleep in Bram’s arms.

Simon woke up as the sunlight streamed into his room. He must have forgotten to draw the night before, having been distracted by a gorgeous boy in his bed.

They had shifted during their sleep apparently, with Simon’s back to Bram’s chest, inadvertently becoming the little spoon. Simon tried not to wake Bram as he shuffled around to face his boyfriend.

Bram seemed to be sleeping rather peacefully, his features looking more relaxed and delicate. Simon couldn’t help but run his finger on the bridge of Bram’s nose and onto his cheekbone, so desperately restraining himself from kissing Bram awake.

“Morning,” Bram said in a gruff voice, his eyes still closed.

“I didn’t mean to wake you,”

“It’s okay,” Bram answered.

Simon still felt tired and managed to lay his head on Bram’s chest in an attempt to fall back asleep. Yet, he couldn’t help but listen to the beat of Bram’s heart and didn’t know if he was imagining it beating so fast.

Apparently, he’d been voicing his thought out loud because Bram answered his question. “You’re not imagining it. It’s always like that when I’m around you,”

Simon took Bram’s hand by the wrist and put it against his own chest, “You’re not the only one,”

Simon thought he heard something, and figured it must have been the thumping noise from last night. He figured they could investigate what the source of that was, in the safety of daylight but they didn’t get the chance.

Right now he just wanted to close his eyes and lie next to the boy he loved. They didn’t get to do that for much longer, because at that moment Simon’s father burst into the room.

“Oh! It was Bram’s car!” Jack practically bellowed, causing Bram and Simon to wake up in terror, and Bram to almost fall off the bed.

Jack quickly scanned them and seemed to be content in the fact that they were both dressed. He grinned, “Everything okay boys?”

Simon caught his breath, checking to make sure if Bram was okay. Bram was decidedly not, he was a stuttering mess trying to explain what he was doing there.

“Bram. Kiddo. It’s fine. It’s not like you guys got caught having sex…” Jack laughed. “And even if you were, we wouldn’t…”

“DAD!” Simon stopped his father before he could make the situation even worse. “Can you give us a minute,”

“Sure thing bud. Be downstairs in ten minutes okay? Your sister needs some comforting,”

“What happened?” Bram asked before Simon could, and Simon caught a look of genuine admiration in his father’s eyes. Bram was always so caring, about everyone, and Simon was glad his father got to see that part of him too.

“Turns out they made an error, and she’d actually come in fourth place,”

Simon shook his head, expressing his disapproval, hoping his sister wasn’t too hurt by the turn of events. “We’ll be right down, dad,”

“Bram…I’m so sorry, I thought they’d be back tomorrow,”

“It’s fine,” Bram said, forcing himself to calm down. “I don’t want your parents to hate me,”

“They don’t hate you,” Simon comforted him. “Believe me. You’re the hero in this story, and I am going to be the victim of endless teasing,”

“The hero?” Bram snickered, shaking his head.

“My knight in shining armor,” Simon laughed. “Well…in superhero-themed pajamas,”

Bram gave him a small wink as he headed to the bathroom to freshen up, and Simon shook his head unable to believe how he’d gotten so lucky.
