THEN STOP PLAYIN' !!!! we NEED the cruising fic STAT!!!! /j
Hahahaha, it's getting close! This won't be what you want at all, but hell, have the opening scene:
-
If he were to guess without the use of the mind gift or any of his other vast vampiric intuitions, as he did often in his mortal life, heād say that the boy couldnāt be a day over twenty-five. Youth telling in the soft swell of his cheeks and the sort of boyish lankiness to his ungainly height that time tends to whittle away as one ages, and itās something Louis may have found charming once. Not just the eager lope of juvenile inexperience, but the rambling confidence of whatever habit heās doubtlessly maintaining. After all, any gangliness is underscored by the fact that heās whippet thin in his admittedly well-tailored suit, red-nosed and sniffling (allergies, heād so claimed when heād gone to shake Louisā hand earlier, much to Louisā amusement), with pupils like dual ink blots, blowing out in the dishwater grey of his irises.
Not unhandsome though, Louis supposes, crossing his right leg over his left on the soft leather seat of one of the Argyll Clubās more lavishly designed meeting rooms, although heās all elbows and angles in a way that vaguely reminds Louis of the half-starved boys of the 70s, arms like pin cushions and blood like oblivion, sprawled out on the steps of Badlands and The Green Park Diner. The thought almost distracts in the moment of it. The memory of those sticky-floored, dimly lit dives a far cry from where they sit now, but then, theyāre not so different, Louis thinks wryly, hooking his entwined fingers around his knee. After all, thereās a dance here, isnāt there?
A fumble in the dark.
As if heās heard a cue, the boy suddenly springs forwards, jittery, swiping the iPad screen heās laid on the table in front of Louis, moving through slides of tables and charts, chasing his own tail over the potential in dividends and yields.
āā¦based on the sector breakdown and broader market fluctuations, this is a short-term investment offering a substantial return,ā the boy says, settling on a slide with a bar graph and scatter plot. He passes the device to Louis, who takes it, frowning slightly at the smeared screen ā sweat or perhaps grease from whatever the boy ate for dinner, he thinks, pulling a handkerchief from the breast pocket of his topstitched suede blazer to wipe it. If the boy thinks anything of it, he doesnāt show it, although Louis feels Margot swallow amusement from her seat beside him.
āYes, itās a market thatās probably got a lifespan in years, not decades as the CEOās promising, and I hear your concern on that, Mr. du Lac, I really do, which is why timing will be everything. Right now, this is looking to be a bull market, and if we get you cashed out within three years, I think youāll be walking away with ten times what you put in today.ā
In his hands, the iPad screen glows back up at him, and Louis takes in the charts the boy ā Henry ā has directed his attention to, only to swipe aimlessly through the rest of the slides. Itās a well-prepared pitch, clear and well-researched, competent, that much Louis already knows. Heād read it last night from the comfort of the library at his old Hampstead house after Margot had sent it to him, the numbers already vetted by her swarm of militant underlings so that he was required to do little more than cast his eye across it and decide if he wanted to act.
Still, he thinks, glancing back up at Henry, who wobbles against the spruce blue wall paneling of the lux London meeting room, fingers moving to fiddle with the pin wedged in his skinny black tie. Thereās just something to it that Louis doesnāt like.
āMr. du Lac, I appreciate your hesitation, but I just really think this is a deal too good to pass on,ā Henry says, wiping his hands down the body of his blazer, giving one last earnest, too-eager push. āItās easy money.ā
And yeah, Louis thinks, switching off the iPad screen.
Thatās kind of the problem.
#i know i've talked a lot about this fic but i still feel it might surprise people hahah#i'm randomly a bit nervous about it? it's a big sprawling messy thing#but it's been very fun to explore louis in his messy business bitch post-second-divorce capitalist era#and for lestat to be just blossoming into his disaster rockstar era#they're both just looking for drama and remembering their preferred drama is each other <3#fic asks#cruising fic

fuck it, sephesis for all 15 questions
šššOKAY. LET'S DO THIS.
1. Which one is the better cook
They're both equally mediocre. Genesis is better with spices. Sephiroth is better at following directions.
2. What their love letters look like
Genesis,
I require your assistance in Room 108B tonight. The matter is urgent. I have verified your keycard. Please do not be late.
Cordially,
Sephiroth, Soldier First-Class
Seph,
HAHA Fuck you I knew you'd be the one to blink first. If you wanted a bit of action, I'd suggest someplace MORE romantic would be preferable.
Also why are you still signing your name like that? You're such a tool. Goddess, I fucking hate you.
-Gen
PS: Thanks for spotting me earlier, darling. Dinner is on me tonight. I found a new place I think you'll like. See you soon XOXOXOXOā¤ļø
3. Which one outlives the other, and how they cope
Both of them are functionally immortal thanks to the Jenova cells. But both will have to face the future being completely separated from each other. Genesis copes by shaping up into the hero he was meant to be. Sephiroth...simply no longer remembers Genesis at all.
4.What they do on date night
Wander around the city long after everyone else has gone to bed. Genesis rambles on and on about Loveless or some petty drama he was involved in. Sephiroth simply watches him, quietly smitten.
5. How many kids theyāll have
Gen would like one or two eventually. He's very convinced he can coax Sephiroth into adopting.
6. How they decorated their bedroom
Gen's side of the room is covered with fancy art, scented candles, and a MONSTER of a bookshelf. Seph's side of the room is more nondescript, simply neat and organized, save for one or two of Gen's socks strewn carelessly about here and there.
7 Which one is the worse driver
Genesis. AKA Captain Roadrage.
8. What they argue about
EVERYTHING (they enjoy it)
9. Which one swears more
Genesis. Sephiroth never swears unless it's super serious.
10. What TV shows they watch together, and which ones they hide from the other
Gen has turned Sephiroth on to soap opera and reality television. Sephiroth PRETENDS to loathe them. Keyword being "pretends".
Genesis hides the fact that he also loves nature documentaries, despite the fact that Sephiroth loves nature documentaries.
11. What their first impression was of each other
Genesis: "This is the greatest day of my life he's real he's here Angeal pinch me I'm going to die I'm going to have a heart attack oh my god he looked at me I'm going to marry him my hero my idol my everything ASERDTFHYTREWRTHGREHGFDSDF ANGEAL PINCH ME"
Sephiroth: "He keeps staring at me. I don't think he likes me."
12. What they do for their anniversary
Anniversary spar!
13. Which makes a bigger deal of birthdays
Probably Genesis. Though Sephiroth honestly doesn't even know his own birthday. Really, Gen just wants an excuse to party.
14. What nicknames they call each other
"Pet", "Beloved", "Treasure", for Sephiroth to Genesis.
"Darling", "Dear", "Precious", and "ASSHOLE" for Genesis to Sephiroth
15. What they would change about each other
Sephiroth would rather not hear about Loveless ever again.
Genesis would occasionally like to punch Sephiroth in that smirking smugfuck face.
(Not a thing!)

Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 1 Initial Reactions
I didn't get to post these reactions so I'm posting them late as I needed time to edit all my 3am typos (cry) from Thursday.
Bless Francesca for being the funniest lowkey Bridgerton with that piano playing scene.
I swear I paused the Colin glow up reveal scene to analyze everyone's reaction. My top choices are Anthony and Kate and Bennedict.
ABC reunion + Gregory being adorable. I love when they show the sibling interactions.
Backs up, did I just see ASL from a debutant! That is so cool!
Queen Charlotte is having none of these people lmfao
Not Eloise getting dragged by Colin by her fashion choices (peak brother-sister vibes)
Stop- Francesca: āy'all are chaotic yappers the lord cannot present me a harder challengeā
Featherington's! I almost forgot both of Pen's sisters were married here! I keep remembering the book (romancing Mr. Bridgerton) and that the show has arranged things differently.
Prudence's man (I cannot/ do not remember his name) is giving such strong Kenergy.
Would it be the Featherington household without financial drama?
Eloise - Pen meet up, omg the heart break in their eyes!!
Cressida, when I get you!! It has been 0.5 seconds since this girl got to this garden party and she's already bullying Pen. Girl breathe.
Cressida-Eloise is intriguing as a dynamic Iām afraid. Also, Penās sad little face (cry)
I'm a bit confused with Francesca's interest in the marriage mart right now as she seems to prefer being around small groups of people and does not have much interest in being around guys. It feels as if this is a chore she must fulfil.
Kate -Violet solidarity is so cute to see after the angst of last season
Lady Danbury in the white ensemble with the top hat is looking magnificent I want her to poke someone with her cane!!
I'm liking the make up on Kate much more this season??? She seems a lot more glowy and rosy, maybe it's the lighting or something but her make up looks different.
I'm so sorry but Colin getting all this attention after having a literal hot girl summer is vv funny. Like he's in his early 20s lmao, but he is not giving confidence he is giving slightly awkward line reading with no chemistry. In the books him being more rakish was believable because it was set 10 years later.
Colin meeting and talking to Pen, side eye my boy. I'm loving the costuming choices to visibly show they are both uncomfortable/ do not fit their clothes well and itās so starkly done. Poor Pen in this yellow dress makes her look a lot more juvenile (which isn't bad but it is unflattering). And Colin with what I am assuming are Anthony hand me downs since that jacket looks frumpy. The parallels!
Omg "Go home and get to work" Mrs.Featherington is so unserious
One sentence horror story "I take comfort in knowing you will always be there to take care of me". Get out miss Penelope runnn
Colin had one slutty slutty summer and the fact they keep trying to frame it as mostly intellectual is sending me.
Eloise reading Jane Austen! Is this character development?
Every scene so far where Pen and Eloise see each other gives the vibe of two exes meeting after the most devastating break up, I appreciate this framing so much because losing your childhood girl best friend is one of the most painful types of breakups.
ABC hang out?? Bennedict responsibility arc?
"She is colder now I am afraid" is a wild way to say someone is dead.
NEWTON!! BABY!! KANTHONY! IN! BED! BEING ROMANTIC!!
Damn! We're getting steamy af scenes already in the first episode! Anthony needing to go down on his wife to start off the day is certainly something I can get behind.
OOh this outfit reveal! Yessssss bb Pen eat them up! Penelope having a *debut* moment.
Aww the Featherinton spouses are sweet.
I see you Colin with that side eye
Omg Penelope being a bombshell and being socially awkward is so cute. Youāll figure it out soon bb donāt give up, theyāre just jelous!
Ooh these girls are not liking Eloise they're sus
I'm a little uninterested in the queen charlotte diamond drama atm
Francesca: Live Laugh Love the piano forte
These guys are being so rude to Fran like let the poor girl speak! Youāre traumatizing her.
Kanthony dancing and Kate's dress to reference the Bridgerton blue?? Oh the costume department has served.
Aww walflower solidarity with Francesca and Penelope. They're both the more reserved of their family, it's sweet moment between the two and the encouragement!
I know we won't love lord Debling but he's looking so sweetly at Pen and being so welcoming compared to everyone else.
CRESSIDA they can never make me like you, you little brat.
Yes, Pen eat him up give it to him tell him!!! "You miss me but you would never court me". GET HIS ASSS!!
Ā I fear our girl will be writing some scathing lady Whistledown.
This man threatening the Featheringtons is a gremlin, and I am getting bad vibes.
This conversation about the pitting of women against each other is valid social commentary but I cannot focus on it as it appears Cressida has murdered a flock of flamingoes to make her outfit.
Self-awareness, Cressida, does not free you from your crimes!
Kanthony is serving this episode. I appreciate this blissfully married life on them! Also Kateās outfits are so intricate and beautiful. She has come so far.
Francesca so far feels like an external character, and it was similar in the novels until we got to her book. I really hope we get more context for her outlook soon.
Colin, what are YOU doing here. The way that Luke N is serving this season, whew. I really can buy his clueless innocence at his friendship with Pen, but finally the plot is plotting!
I'm very confused by this Baron Kent plot line and its introduction in the first episode.
OOH the drama for Colin's Whistledown dress down.
She really said he ain't shit, it's a facade, a ruse, he's a sad little attention whore
Colin: FUCK lady whistle down all my homies hate lady whistle down.
I'll keep it short. It was simply exhilarating. I love being back it's like slipping into a comfy worn hoodie. It's good to be back!

since we're apparently among the only three people here who don't dislike Zaya...1. why do you think people have more trouble forgiving Zaya for their flaws when basically EVERY Degrassi ship is messy, flawed and complicated?! (Not judging anyone - we all like what we like, and things resonate with us for different reasons, I just find it interesting that people think Zaya is too toxic to forgive while some other Degrassi couples are objective just as messy and even more so) 2. Three Zaya scenes you love that show you they're meant to be? 3. Any songs you associate with Zaya? 4. Name three things Maya and Zig have in common and three differences they have that balance each other out! 5. Want to start a Zaya Appreciation Society with me? We can all share ice cream ;)
There are actually a solid amount of devoted Zaya fans. They're just harder to find. There's a reason I stick with Tumblr. Other places intimidate me and aren't worth the drama.
1.) Personal preference? Other than that, the existence of Campbell Saunders. Just as Zaya's potential romance was picking up steam and forming the foundation for their eventual relationship, Cam killed himself. Zig was the last person to speak to Cam. Regardless of Zig's intent or that during all of their interactions, Cam was the aggressor and the one who initiated all of their conflicts, the only thing the majority of Degrassi fans remember is that Zig pushed Cam over the edge. It never sat right with many viewers that Zig wasn't held more accountable for Cam's death or that Maya was so blasƩ about Zig's "confession". The writers' intent was clearly to send the message that no one is responsible for a suicide or anyone else's actions. But at the same time, you should still be mindful of others because you never know what's going on in someone else's head. Plus, I don't think Zig's character took quite the trajectory that some fans were expecting. He was supposed to have "learned" from Cam's death, meaning there was an expectation that he'd come away from the experience wiser with an acute awareness of how to navigate situations like this. It turns out, that never really happened. Zig tried his best and meant well, but he continued to be careless with words and was often in over his head. Zig also went on to feud with Maya's next boyfriend, Miles, where he was much more combative and kind of a shit starter. Miles was written with more care than Zig and quickly became the preferred character out of the two starting with season 14 and Next Class. So retroactively, Zig = bad, Miles = good. And lastly, a lot of people can't overlook cheating, even in fiction. While I take the stance that while I hate it, fictional cheating happening in teen dramas is highly likely, others felt too betrayed to continue supporting their relationship. Just overall, different people come away with different interpretations of characters and couples. In my opinion, Miles was far and away Maya's worst love interest and could have never made her happy in the long run even if they were both in heathier mindsets. Comparatively, I think Zig complemented Maya very well, offered constant emotional support and more often than not communicated well with her. Maya never seemed to be as happy with any guy as she was him once they were finally together. Others will tell you Miles was a great boyfriend, most of the things I just listed, and that Zig was a mediocre love interest.
2.) That's super tough to narrow down. I feel like I'm doing this wrong, but..
(1) Zig comforting Maya after Miles screams at her, reassuring her that he knows that she means well
It's the softness for me. It's how after the confusion with the season 13 love triangle and Zig being resistant to Maya's help, he gets it. He's here when she needs him the most. It's funny how for some, Maya and Zig getting together in the second half of season 14 came totally out of nowhere. But even though I didn't expect it when the season was airing, looking back it's very easy to see what was developing and how they were getting closer and closer each episode. Even though the Maya/Miles relationship lingered and Zig could have potentially gotten together with Zoe, those romances didn't pan out. To me, this is when their season 14 arc officially begins.
(2) Zig and Maya making up backstage
Yes, they were fighting and Maya was frustrated with Zig for trying to handle the gang on his own rather than turning Vince in, but he realized on his own (with the help of Damon) what needed to happen. We didn't see the full scene, but Zig clearly apologizes for their earlier conflict and for not initially going to the police. Maya is so forgiving and so prepared to forget the whole thing happened. Like she said. "You're here. We're together." That's literally all that mattered to her. No matter what happened, she was going to stick with Zig. No one can convince me that Maya Matlin wasn't equally and 100% as in love with Zig as he was her.
(3) Zig trying to cheer Maya up
Post bus crash, Maya was in the darkest place she'd ever been in. She was slowly losing all of her personal connections. At this point, it would be difficult to say Zig and Maya were even friends anymore. Their relationship ended in a very painful way with Maya still angry with Zig even months later. They both almost died. Zig entered a very public relationship with Esme. While they had occasional moments where they interacted that reinforced their connection, (in 302 when Zig asked Maya for advice about Esme), overall Zig wasn't part of Maya's life and therefore missed a lot of her warning signs. But, he did notice her on the verge of breaking down in the hallway and instantly knew something was wrong even if he couldn't have imagined the extent of it. So, Zig basically gently forces Maya to open up to him about what's going on. He knows she's struggling with something and isn't happy anymore, so he decides to cheer her up. This is Maya's first genuine smile the entire season. Every other time, she's either faking it or indulging in darker interests that only serve to trigger her more. And Maya clearly feels all the feelings in that moment. Yes, it's easier with Zig and he reminds her of happier times, but it's also very obvious how much she's still in love with him. This isn't technically part of the scene, but in the next episode Maya makes it a point to ask Esme to take care of Zig for her. The only other person we see Maya explicitly request be taken care of after she's gone is her mother. So, it says a lot about the depth of Maya's love for Zig and how much it would mean to her for him to be taken care of after she's gone. Anyways. Zig makes Maya happy and instinctively understands her.
4.) Ugh, I'm the worst at song questions.
It Might Be Love - Latch Key Kid (played during the first time they went to The Dot)
Oh My Love - Layla (played when Maya kisses Zig in season 14, kickstarting their relationship)
The Words You Say - Harrison Storm (played at the end of #YesMeansYes)
Lover - Taylor Swift (I know I'm basic, but it's their song)
5.) Three things Zig and Maya have in common.. they're both loyal, protective people and never afraid to fight for what's right, particularly when it affects someone they care about. I'll count that as two. It's honestly tough to find similarities, as weird as that sounds. They just match each other's energy and tend to be on the same wavelength. I'll say they're both pretty laidback. In spite of the fact they find themselves pulled into drama (especially poor Maya), they typically don't go out of their way to create it. Sometimes certain rivals will bring out that side of them, but overall they're chill people.
As for the differences that balance each other out.. Zig is the more sensitive one. He has a way of being quietly supportive and intuiting things while Maya internalizes a lot of her emotions. She's so desperate for nothing to go wrong that she almost avoids reality. I honestly think Zig grounds her a bit and forces her to be honest with herself. While both have good hearts, Maya is more compassionate and quicker to forgive. Even though it would sometimes be easier to lash out and the people wronging her would 1000% deserve it, Maya avoids conflict for the most part. Zig has never met a physical conflict he didn't want to throw against his locker. He means well, but he struggles with his anger from time to time and can't help but want to defend. Sometimes he's defending himself, other times he's defending the people he cares about. Maya provides a calming influence and encourages Zig to find better, healthier ways to handle his problems. This is so hard LOL. I feel like that's it? Who Maya is and who Zig is and how they interact with each other makes them an unusually good match. This is awful. I apologize.
5.) Absolutely!
#Zaya#otp: It felt like the world was gonna end#thedegrassidiaries#Long post#Not my gifs#I definitely fucked up the numbering because I misread your ask but oh well#Damn this ended up being so long

The Witch Elm by Tana French
"One blink, one glance to the side, and when you look again everything is different: the trees and the garden wall and the people all looked like themselves, but they were made of some new and alien material; the world looked unchanged, and yet somehow I was standing in an entirely different place."
Year Read: 2024
Rating: 3/5
About: When a burglary gone terribly bad leaves Toby Hennessy hospitalized and near death, his entire life is upended. Recovering and horrified that he may never fully recover, he moves into the Ivy House, a family home where he spent childhood summers running wild with his cousins, to care for his Uncle Hugo, who has a terminal brain tumor. Their idyllic peace is shattered when a human skull is found in the wych elm in the Ivy House's garden, and Toby must come to terms with the idea that the past isn't quite as he remembers it. Trigger warnings: character death (on page), graphic violence, suicide mentions, severe illness, cancer, seizures, sexual harassment, threats, bullying, homophobia, ableism, the atrocity of cutting down a two hundred year old tree.
Thoughts: I've never met a Tana French novel I didn't at least like. She's a gorgeous writer, and that alone is reason enough for me to pick up her books. Her prose is detailed, insightful, and absorbing in a way I find less and less in fiction as I get older. I can gauge my investment by how often I feel the need to check my phone as I'm reading, but with these, I'm happy to silence it for hours and let myself be pulled into her world. There's not a lot she doesn't excel at, from strong sense of place and complex, devastatingly human characters to arresting drama and the slow unwind of a mystery. Like most of French's novels, this one depends on an understanding of characters and their natures to work. How well do we really know them? How well do they know each other? Well enough to know which of them could commit murder-- and get away with it?
That being said, this isn't destined to be one of my favorites. Unlike some reviews, I didn't mind that the mystery was slow to take off. While I enjoy the murder plots, it's not really why I read these, and prose and character are usually enough for me. I like the deep dive we get on Toby's life. What killed some of my enjoyment was actually Toby himself. For all his charm and largely harmless obliviousness, he's just not that likeable as a human being. I had the same problem with Rob in In the Woods. They're both such lackluster, self-centered dudes, and I don't think it's a coincidence that my favorite French novels largely hinge on the narrators (Cassie, The Likeness; Frank, Faithful Place; Antoinette, The Trespasser). Toby's attack brings out the worst of him, as such things tend to do, and while it's well played out, it gets a bit difficult to be in his head. He's just so ableist about not wanting anyone to think less of him for his slightly slurred speech or his limp-- which, with exactly one exception, no one ever does. The problem is that Toby would think less of other people for these things, and like so many of the other characters throughout the novel, I just wanted to shake him and tell him to get some perspective. Other humans exist in the world with experiences entirely different from yours.
I can't help feeling this would have been better as a Dublin Murder Squad novel told, say, from Detective Rafferty's perspective, but on the whole that comes down to a preference for smart narrators over moronic ones. I was on board with the mystery to a point and was even starting to get a sense of where it was headed, as I usually do with her books. It's less a sudden epiphany than a slow, dawning horror that, the characters being who and what they are, this could only have gone one way. There are a couple fascinating philosophical threads throughout about whether a person's nature or their actions make them good or bad (is badness something you do, or is it just something you are? if you were never in the position to do something bad, would you still have that potential in you? is it the potential that makes you bad, or the action?) and our desperate, often flawed search for reasons for the things that happen to us and whether misfortune is something we deserve or something that just happens to us. The end went off in a fairly absurd, unnecessary direction, however, and those last two chapters or so really made me regret my investment. I think the overall message is that personalities are so dependent on context that it's almost impossible to really know someone or ourselves, but it comes over feeling more like people kill other people for utterly stupid, pointless reasons, which is not a very rewarding takeaway after five hundred pages.

Okayā¦so today's episode of Home Alone really highlighted how close NCT 127 is. They must have become even closer recently, but it really showed their deep bond. When Doyoung mentioned that Haechan sometimes says he wants to live together when they get old, Haechan himself confirmed it, making sure of his decision and expressing his eagerness to do so in his life. He also mentioned that his favorite drama is Reply 1988, and there's a dialogue in it about neighbors being better than distant relatives or something. This really reflects the episode of the "lost boys" and what Haechan said about his family and his bond with them. He truly wants to cherish the bond with his hyungs (older brothers) forever.Of course, he is close with the dreams too, but you know, I hope you understand what I mean.
I used to be someone who didn't like Haechan because he would annoy and tease Doyoung all the time, at least that's how I saw it before. But now I can't deny the fact that he is emotionally closer to Doyoung than to Mark. Mahae is close frnds, Maybe it's because of their schedules and work, they depend on each other mentally and physically. But the closeness he shows with Doyoung is something really special. I don't know how to explain it, maybe it's because of Doyoung's kind nature towards him, even though he teases and stresses him out. Haechan lacks that kind of attention in his life, and as everyone knows, he is an attention seeker. So if he wants it from Doyoung, he will come and get it. And who is Doyoung to deny attention to the people he loves and adores? So it's balanced, haha.
Even when they're playing, whether it's teasing or anything else, how many times does Haechan mention Doyoung's name? The eagerness he shows to do anything with Doyoung (other than being on the same team when playing physical games, well, that's also kind of teasing) really amazes me. It's not just Jaehyun or Taeyong who remember Doyoung in everything they say or do, Haechan also attaches himself to Doyoung in an emotional way. I think that's really cute.
I don't know when he started thinking about the idea of living together, but speaking of that topic, our Taeyong already requested to dy to go nursing home together in 2020.. .that's really makes me wonder how much that man loves dy even 3 years ago...haha...
Haechan is really clingy. I haven't watched the 2nd episode yet, but in the 1st one the first thing Hyuk dis at the service stop was to go and demand they eat something together. In the end they ate separately in different groups, so the point was more to annoy (my favourite moment was when Tae appeared behind them chewing on his bread with cheese(?), looking like a content hamster).
Doyoung is a self-proclaimed person who prefers to give love. As a result he is surrounded by attention-seekers. Win-win for both parties, heh.
The most noticeable thing is Hyuk making sure to thank Doyoung (for food or smth else) or advertise his solo projects (albeit often in a teasing manner). As Tae, Jae and Johnny, Hyuk aknowledges Do's effort (what Do actually wants and expressed this in the past a lot).
Why are the men arounf him ask to cohabit together with Do in the future with disregard to his future wife... hm.

Going in blind: Watching season 4 for the first time. Random thoughts.
I never said anything about it before but I love Shadow Weaver's DCAU Batman eyes. They're so expressive.
Episode 1: Okay...I wasn't expecting Catra to do that. I mean, it makes sense. If she has leverage over Hordak then she's basically in charge of the Horde and that's what she's wanted (or at least believes she wants) since episode 1. It's an aspect that made her a good antagonist, that she's not blind to the evil of the Horde, she just doesn't care as long as she herself is secure. Which naturally begs the question, when the rebellion and the princesses are crushed, when the Horde is on top, when Adora is dead, when Catra finally has everything she's ever wanted...will she actually finally be happy? Somehow, I have my doubts.
I definitely feel for Glimmer in this. When you go through as big a loss as she did you need to be able to feel and vent if you're ever going to get through it. It doesn't have to be right away but everyone doing everything in their power to avoid the topic entirely can make you feel like you're going crazy. It'a especially bad for her since it unintentionally makes it feel like everyone is acting like it doesn't matter that Angela is gone when it clearly means everything to Glimmer.
Episode 2: I actually had a potted cactus plant once. Accidentally forgot about it and left it outside for an entire winter. Once the snow was gone the cactus looked like it had melted.
I kind of want to see what an interaction between Double Trouble and Clayface from the Harley Quinn animated series would look like. I'm guess Catra was just testing how good Double Trouble was as a doppelganger because it doesn't seem like she did anything while Adora was being distracted, though I suppose that could be a reveal in a later episode.
Not much to say except that I love how buff Huntara is while still clearly being a woman. Like, women can have a variety of different body types, as this series and Steven Universe show, and Huntara's build isn't just, like, Bow's body with lipstick and ponytail and the animators calling it a day. No, she looks like a freakin' jacked adult woman.
Episode 3: I didn't figure out the Flutterina = Double Trouble twist until a minute before it was revealed, so good job there. Before that I was wondering if Flutterina was some fan's original character where they won some contest where their OC got to be in the show for an episode. She was giving off some weird self-insert vibes. That twist made it all work though. It's honestly not a bad plan. Shapeshifters haven't really been a thing in the series before now so there's no reason to suspect it. Even if they did they'd probably be expecting it by way of magic or technology, while Double Trouble's seems to be a natural ability.
I like that even though Bow is definitely the goofier one of the trio he is still consistently shown as competent. That's never in question. He was very heroic and reassuring to the villagers this episode. I get why those kids idolize him so much.
Catra's having guilt over what she did with the portal and to Entrapta and her response is basically to just double-down. She doesn't know any other way to be. Not going to lie, I am kind of hoping we get another moment in the show where Adora just completely overwhelms Catra with the sheer power of She-Ra. I'm not saying like brutalize her or anything but just something where Catra is made to realize just how powerful Adora is and that she could just destroy Catra if she had a mind to do so.
Episode 4: Well, I was saying I wanted Adora to do it but I guess I don't mind Glimmer being the one to get some good shots in on Catra. Like I predicted, Shadow Weaver's moving in to become her teacher like she was with her father. Honestly I like that that was more Adora's problem than Glimmer using her as bait, which she seemed to get over pretty quick. Yeah, it was kind of a heartless thing to do but it was an understandable tactic and she clearly outright told Adora that she did it and why afterwards, which at least means she's still being honest.
It occurs to me that Glimmer and Catra may be the ones running parallel right now. Both are basically leading their respective sides of the war. They both have lost someone very important to them. And both are trusting someone they probably shouldn't. Both even have outfits that've been updated in the intro. The difference is Glimmer's just trying to deal with a bad situation while Catra's is entirely self-inflicted.
Minor thing but I like Glimmer's new outfit this season. I'm sure this is the intention but it makes her look older and more mature. A little more muscular in some shots too.
Episode 5: Heart of Etheria project. No idea what that is but assumedly whoever's a part of it doesn't like Light Hope and Mara being friends. Sounds like it's very much interested in She-Ra being just a warrior, and perhaps a tool, for the greater good. It does make me wonder though how much Light Hope remember from when she was rebooting. Even if she deleted the Mara memory she could potentially still have the memory of her and Adora watching the Mara memory, as well as Adora asking to be her friend.
Episode 6: Yep. Scorpia; definitely favorite supporting character. There is something kind of funny about her whole "Scorpions are loyal" line when you remember the story about the Frog and the Scorpion, where it stings the frog despite it meaning death for itself as well simply because that is its nature. But finally we're having someone go save Entrapta, and I can only assume at some point Scorpia's going to access the power of the Black Garnet.
The parallels between Catra and Hordak are definitely at their max here with that speech of hers to him. She's basically trying to convince herself that she doesn't need anyone, the timing of which is appropriate since she just drove away Scorpia and now truly doesn't have anyone. Not that I blame Scorpia, obviously. Like Adora before her, however good you believe someone can be and that you can help them, at some point you just have to cut the toxic people out of your life. You have the right to be happy too.
And man, Bow is just the best. He saw something was wrong between Adora and Glimmer and defused the situation like (snap) that, pushing them to talk like any sane person would.
Episode 7: I'm sure it is just because I've seen way too many TV shows and movies (both animated and live action) that don't do it but it is just such a relief to have a show where the characters just TALK and LISTEN to each other. It doesn't solve all their issues but they're at least not being stupid and freakin' petty. It helps the drama feel a lot less forced and contrived.
Episode 8: A little bit of amusement in Bow thinking at first that Glimmer and Adora didn't even notice he was gone despite them coming to his rescue very shortly afterwards, given Catra is only now realizing Scorpia has left and assumedly she did so a while ago. Bow and Sea Hawk hadn't been gone for that long so it's not unreasonable Glimmer and Adora wouldn't be worried about their absence (Bow was literally talking about "me time" when they last saw him), while Catra is only noticing Scorpia's absence now and it was because she wanted something. Like Scorpia said, she's a bad friend.
Kind of ironic given that a lot of Catra's issues are the direct result of Shadow Weaver giving her very little love growing up but it does seem this tough love is probably what'll get through to Catra the best. She might finally stop making bad decisions and lashing out if she's forced to live with the consequences of them, like Adora told her last season.
Glimmer gets a bit of slack from me since she suffered through a huge loss, that being her mother, and then was immediately thrown into being queen right after. It'd be hard for anyone to be 100% on their game and well-adjusted in a situation like that, and I buy that she was on some level resentful of Adora for coming back instead of her mother, even if unintentionally so. What definitely helps is that Glimmer very clearly and immediately regretted what she said to Adora. Like Catra she's lashing out but unlike Catra Glimmer recognizes some of the damage she's doing and knows, at least in this case, that she went too far.
Episode 9: Now that I can see the design in color I definitely prefer Mara's She-Ra with pants to Adora's She-Ra with shorts. Honestly, while the differences are pretty minor, I do think Mara's She-Ra design is overall a lot better than Adora's. Sharper shoulder guards. Bigger cape (especially the cape, I love capes). I don't know, there's just a lot that clicks with it and I wouldn't mind Adora getting a similar outfit later.
Madam Razz definitely had a Yoda feel this episode. I was very much expecting her to start wacking Mara with a stick over the sugar like Yoda did with R2. Though while that was Yoda acting crazy, for Razz it's because she experiences time out of order, and I don't think I've ever seen that concept taken to this extent, or at least done this way before. There are characters like River Song from Doctor Who, Professor Paradox from Ben 10, or even the Reverse-Flash who interact with other characters in time out of order but those characters are still on a linear path from their own perspective, even when travelling through time. Razz is just bouncing around her own timeline, seemingly not even any real reason or cause to it like Subaru from Re:Zero. Clearly she's not just remembering things oddly because her talk about things of the present are heard by people in the past and have an effect. I wonder if maybe the reason why is because Razz was at ground zero of Mara's actions and this is a side-effect of pulling Etheria away from the rest of the universe.
Bringing more Star Wars into this, it basically sounds like the Heart of Etheria project has turned Etheria into a magic Starkiller Base; storing power that'll be unleashed to destroy whole planets. And jeez, I think this was the first time I really felt creeped out by Light Hope when she was talking to Mara.
I'm looking forward to seeing what it means that the First Ones only made the sword and that Etheria made She-Ra. If that's the case, why is only the sword able to bring out the She-Ra form? Is it like MCU Thor's hammer and the weapon was just meant to help him control the power he already had? Or is what we think is She-Ra not actually She-Ra and that form that Adora and Mara take is just a stand-in for the real thing?
Episode 10: It didn't even occur to me until now but Double Trouble's capture is another blow to Catra's circle of "friends" too. They were at least able to make her laugh. One less person for her to talk to and just...really just distract her from her thoughts.
It's a good dilemma this episode presents about what to do with the Heart of Etheria. The safest and probably best option is to just dismantle it, like Adora and Bow want, since it could easily lead to the destruction of the entire planet if it goes off. Not the mention there's so little they know about it and what it was intended for and the one person who can potentially tell them, Light Hope, they were warned not to trust. But it's not hard to understand where Glimmer is coming from in wanting to use that power to fight the Horde. They're already losing the war and now she knows Hordak Prime and his FAR more powerful forces are on the way. Tapping into the Heart is a huge risk but she's not seeing any other paths for the rebels to win. It's a really good dilemma, with good arguments presented from both sides, and I buy this widening the schism between Adora and Glimmer.
Episode 11: I have mixed feelings on King Micah still being alive. On the one hand there's a lot of good potential interactions we can now have with him, primarily between Glimmer and Shadow Weaver, and he is a fun character. But on the other I can't help but wonder if this kind of lessens the impact of what Angela gave up to overcome the false reality. Part of what made it so emotional was that she had to accept the person she loved was dead and not coming back...except now we see that he wasn't dead and now he is coming back. Yeah, their family lost out on years together and that does still carry some emotional weight but I was already also half-expecting Angela to come back later in the series because she's stuck between dimensions, meaning there's a chance she could still be alive. If both Glimmer's parents come back then that really feels like it takes a lot of weight out of her story. But I guess we'll see what happens.
Also, why did the Horde exile him to Beast Island? Why not just kill him?!
Episode 12: So the Horde exiles Micah to Beast Island instead of killing him. The First Ones protect their secrets by sending their bad tech to Beast Island. Does no one know how to just destroy things in this world?
Ohhh, I am so looking forward to next episode. While it's debatable whether Glimmer should be going through with her plan she is at least being smart with how she's going about it. Double Trouble was being paid by Catra to work for the Horde, not out of any sense of loyalty. Glimmer has the resources of Bright Moon at her disposal so it's reasonable she could pay them more to switch sides. Double Trouble was very good at sabotaging even a group as tight-nit as the heroes, so Hordak and Catra are probably easy pickings with all their issues.
Episode 13: ....WELL THAT AIN'T GOOD!
I'll admit, I had a little bit of an unintended laugh. After all we've heard about Horde Prime, like this shadowy all-powerful monster, I wasn't expecting the fabulous flowing dreadlocks and smoothness. Credit where it's due, man has charisma and charm, which goes a long way in helping your big evil world conqueror not be a very flat character, because it's doubtful he's going to have the same kind of sympathetic motivation as Hordak or complexity as Catra to keep him elevated.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Double Trouble kicking at Catra while she's down. Adora and Scorpia were honest but they never wanted to hurt Catra. Not so much with Double Trouble and they just shove reality into her face. Everyone leaves Catra because of Catra. She's the common factor. It's her fault and no one else's. Again, I don't know for certain if Adora and Catra get together at the end (Catra would have a LOT to make amends for regardless) but Double Trouble was definitely implying Catra had feelings for her with the way they put Catra's hand on "Adora's" cheek while talking about how she left her.
I like that we see Glimmer's plan actually working at first. The princesses get a massive power boost and decimate the Horde forces. But the minute it starts going wrong she immediately admits Adora was right and she tries to stop the energy flow. I imagine having her there with Catra was intentional by the writers. Despite some parallels, Glimmer can actually accept her failures and work to try and fix things. Unlike Catra, she didn't blame Adora for things going wrong.
So the sword allows the First Ones to control She-Ra and the energy she'd be absorbing from the planet. Assumedly that means there are at least some parts to She-Ra that have nothing to do with the First Ones and thus maybe Adora can still use some of those powers without the sword.
Season 4 verdict: Yeah, the show keeps getting better, though I will admit last season's finale had me more emotional, but that's a bit of an unfair comparison given everything that happened in that finale vs. this one. This is definitely the series hitting its darkest hour, where it feels like EVERYONE lost. Not just the rebels but the Horde as well. The sword and Light Hope are gone and She-Ra (for now) along with them. Glimmer and Catra are basically prisoners. Hordak's probably going to have his personality stripped away. The Fright Zone is in ruins. The only one who's gained anything is Prime.
Really looking forward to what the final season has in store, especially since there seems to be the implication that Catra just saved Glimmer's life.
