chan is soft-hearted when it comes to his little girl. a glance of her puppy eyes and he'll surrender himself completely to her.

often times, you'll find chan sitting cross-legged with little ha-eun on a stool, giving your husband a makeover. no matter what ha-eun does to him, he'll simply let it be — even if she's dabbing a ridiculous coloured eyeshadow on his eyelids and tying a horrendous looking ponytail at the top of his head. if it makes his daughter happy, then he'll entertain it.

you can count on chan to get your daughter ready for school. he's mastered multiple hairstyles! whether it be a french braid or pigtails, chan made sure he's mastered them even before ha-eun was born. he loves preparing his daughter to school, enjoys the morning as he ties up her hair and makes sure she's dressed up nicely.

would not miss any single school event. talent show? sports day? bring your parent day? report card day? he has every event marked on his calendar, and never misses any. all the teachers and moms know him for being so present and sweet.

i see minho as a twin dad. a boy & a girl!!

having twins in the house, pranks become a common occurence. one twin would prank the other, then a revenge comes. it becomes a cycle!! you'd try to stop the prank war going on but it cannot be stopped when minho encourages it!!! sometimes he'll even conspire with the twins to prank you. watch out for the sugar jar as you make coffee because it might actually be salt.

i cannot explain this but he makes weird bento boxes. the typical ones would be of animals, or studio ghibli characters but he makes odd characters that are lowkey terrifying but the kids are so used to it that they're unaffected.

they'll never know what's coming for them when they open their lunchbox. it'll be either yet another jureumi-shaped bento or a weird-looking cat.

leaves cute little notes too! odd, and a bit threatening but cute nevertheless. some of the notes the twins have received range from — "fight back when someone bullies you," or "eat well or don't come home." they're all affectionate, but written in a very lee minho way that you can't help but smile when you read them.

you never have to worry about leaving the kids with minho for a long time. he's got you covered! the twins absolutely adore their dad. would spend an entire day building a fort and watching movies while you're out with your friends.

at the end of the day, when you're back from your outing, you'd come home to the sight of minho and the twins curled up in front of the tv, a studio ghibli movie playing in the background. ♡

he would even build the prettiest dollhouse for her. it'd be a whole project, would spend days building a dollhouse and they'd have fun painting it together.

i think hyune is the kind to support and encourage his kids to find new hobbies. his son wants to enroll in taekwondo? sure, he'll take the boy to the first class. his daughter wants to try out ballet? he'll sign her up to a class, buy her a tutu and ballet slippers. he's just so supportive <3

often times, he'd take care of the kids while you go out with your girls. you'd come back to him asleep on the couch, while the (very much awake) kids draw on his face with sharpie ^.^

I recently made a post about wanting to understand the concept of Spideytorch more, and was directed to your blog! If it's not too much of an ask, could you break down their relationship for me?

Sure! I can do that. I'm going to refer back to your post just as a jumping off point -- Spideytorch is definitely, 100% a comics-based thing. Prior to the upcoming Fantastic Four MCU film, the film rights for both characters have never been held by the same company, and "crossover" films are very much a product of the MCU, although ironically Andrew Garfield did once say he wanted Michael B Jordan, who played Johnny in the 2015 Fantastic Four film, to play his Peter's love interest.

But while it is comics-based, it's a very different scenario than Spideypool, where the comics are very much based on their popularity as a duo in fandom. I'm not a Spideypool fan, just as like a disclaimer, but as someone interested in the symbiotic relationship between fandom and superhero comics, Spideypool is really interesting because their popularity came first -- they got that team up comic because they were already popular in fandom, they didn't become popular in fandom because they had the team up comic. So it's a really interesting look at how fan activity influences the connections comic characters have. That's not the case with Spideytorch.

(I'm not saying one of those things is inherently better than the other, but since you mentioned Spideypool and their team up comic in your post, I thought it made for an interesting comparison.)

Peter and Johnny literally meet in Amazing Spider-Man #1, back in 1963. The two premier teen heroes of the day, they have a lot of early interaction because they played well off each other -- Peter, a broke loner, was often jealous of Johnny's fame and money, whereas Johnny bemoaned his girl problems compared to chick magnet Peter. (Johnny's girlfriend at the time literally asked him why he couldn't be more like Peter.) They're both pretty big personalities, so there was a lot of pigtail pulling in the early days, but even when they argued there was always a sense that they genuinely liked each other deep down. For Peter, who didn't have friends in the business, Johnny was someone he could rely on, and for Johnny -- who just, like, did not have friends at all until he got to college -- Spider-Man was a peer, someone he looked up to and admired.

Miraculous Art Club AU part 3

Part 1 / Part 2

(I have lightly changed Marc's ladybug mask)

I had originally planned to just share a little on this au before I make a YouTube video for it but with how long it's taking for me to finish my High Guardian Spice rewrite first, it's not gonna happen for a while. Meanwhile I genuinely wanna share more on this au because I'm on a miraculous fix right now.

Notice that I low-key put the couples in similar poses to each other? This was 100% unintentional 😆 (Edit: changed Mari's pigtails)

I had also wanted to finish my redesigns for our main character's civilian fits before anything else just to try and keep myself in some type of order to get this done.

And you know that fun little fact of how Marinette and Adrien's color pallets are the inverted colors of each other to kinda showcase they were made for each other? Well, I decided to have some fun and apply a color language for all of the couples in this au. They're not all inversions, but they all have some type of rule to tie their color pallets together in pairs. I also decided to challenge myself and apply it to their superhero forms as well because I hate myself 😂

So we'll get into the designs as well as some of my rewrite storyline. I ended up sharing a lot more than I expected so this isn't super organized. Especially when I got to the Adrien section I kinda just started talking about potential Nathaniel plot. But I did my best to keep some sort of order.

Now, I think I'm the only person who's realized that, while Marinette and Adrien are inversions of each other, Ladybug and Chat Noir also have their own color language.

Ladybug is red and black while Chat noir is black and green. They share one color and sport an opposite color, red and green. And which color that's mainly sported is switched (red = Ladybug's main color vs green = Chat Noir's secondary color).

That being said, I decided to not only use that for Marc and Nathaniel's colors, but to have them wear each other's colors in the miraculous like in canon with Caprikid/Roosterbold. So Marc's colors are black and green while Nate's are red and black.

In my au, Marc starts the first episode in a much more boring fit of a green hoodie under a black hood jacket with black pants and boots, but then Juleka would try to help him express himself more by letting him borrow some of her clothes (they just happen to be the same size). And Juleka is much more into the vampire/witchy aesthetic, hence why he has a crop hoodie with the moon phases on it. The backpack is her's from the year before as well. The frog purse I thought would just be cute for Tikki to be sticking out of, but I like to think it's a present from his mom before the big move or maybe something he got as a kid but never used again because he was bullied for it (finally using it again now that he's gained some more confidence). Now don't get me wrong, he's not going to be more confident like Marinette was after the events of origins. He's still going to have this extreme social anxiety that he has to deal with, but with the help of his childhood friend, Luka, and now Juleka, he's finally found it in himself to at least dress the way he wants.

I don't have nearly as much to say about Nate's fit because he doesn't have the symbolic costume change that Marc gets. Just that while his colors are red and black, the splotch pattern on his shirt is kinda meant to look like the cataclysm of the cat miraculous he uses. Similar to the moon phase wheel on Marc's hoodie (a spot/circle shape), it's a peek into the actual miraculous that they use.

Now, despite his last name, I personally never saw him as Jewish for the longest time. I've never really been one to actively look for someone's ethnicity but when the topic came up, weirdly enough, if anything I got more of a Viking vibe from him. Though it wasn't until after saying that out loud to myself that I realized that might be because he reminded me of Hiccup in the first How to Train Your Dragon 💀🤣 But I am more than willing to make him both Viking and Jewish. Both on his deceased dad's side, his mom isn't very present in his life (emotionally). His cuffs are kind of the calling card for my viking headcanon, while his miraculous/ring's disguised form has the Chai symbol on it, which means life. And because he's Jewish on his dad's side, it's almost like a sign from his dad to keep living his life 🥹

Again I'm not going super deep into the family drama right now because this post is already going to be long enough as it is.

Their colors are inverted like Marinette and Adrien. I will say, when you look at Luka inverted, the gray of his shirt and the teal of his hair may be more light brown and orange. But that's why Chloe has sparkly brown eyeshadow and orange lensed glasses 😋 I make it work.

Luka is canonically the only other boy Chloe has considered attractive so how could I not pair them in the au? Luka is a very calm and collected person that can bring Chloe down to reality and because he's always been so responsible in helping others most of his life, Chloe makes the time to spoil him while trying to be more responsible around him so he can stay loose.

Yes, Luka's gonna be less of a heartthrob musician cliche in this au. He's already canonically the therapist of basically everyone in Paris while keeping Ladybug and Chat Noir's ID's secret, boi has to be stressed out.

He doesn't go to Collège Françoise Dupont because of a delinquent rep he indirectly built while protecting Marc from bullies growing up. So he'd meet Chloe for the first time, outside of the school bully context and be able to see through her spoiled brat persona.

I'll note here that in my au, Chloe doesn't see Adrien romantically. She's gonna be more like the protective sibling and see Adrien as family. But she's willing to make people see them in a romantic light if it means protecting Adrien from fangirls who'd take advantage of him.

Which would make it kinda funny when Adrien and Marinette start liking each other. Like, by the time they do, Chloe's redemption arc has already happened (she's still the sassy queen we know and love but she's much less insulting and more mature now. I see her being pretty similar to Stella from Winx (s1-3 Stella, we don't talk about Stella passed the first movie)(I my god I just realized Luka x Chloe is totally super Stella x Brandon coded 🤣🤣🤣)) so she no longer holds any antagonistic will towards Marinette but because of their past, she knows that she has no room to go against the adrienette ship. So she's kinda just watching their feelings grow and is like, "... This is so weird."

Now, is it kinda gaudy to wear pearls, diamonds and gold all in one outfit? Yes. Is Chloe also a teenager trying to show off how rich she is, partially in the hope that she'll make more friends using her money? Very much so. I doubt her shorts pass the school dress code but she most likely paid off the school board to let her dress however she wants.

(It wasn't until after I finished writing this post that I realized I never said what their super names would be ☠️ I was just expecting to share some art in my first post before my video. So before we go any further:)

Chloe/dragon/bunny = Ladoness/Bella Bunny

Juleka/turtle = Marina

Rose/bee = Zinnia

Adrien/butterfly/snake = Papillon/Aspik

And I'll also say this here; that I did draw these fits with what miraculous they'd end up with in the end (though I also kept in the butterfly on Adrien just so you could see what it'd look like for him (he's wearing the brooch on a chain necklace)). I've shown Chloe having the dragon and she'd be getting it the same way she got the bee in canon. But before she ever gets the chance to crash out and reveal her identity to the public, the moment Audrey says Chloe wasn't exceptional, Nathaniel (who had been invited to the show by Marinette as her +1 because they're pretty close friends by this point) goes off on Audrey about how much of a horrible mother and person she has to be for saying something like that. He wouldn't care that she's famous because she has no effect on his life and let's just say, he could kind of relate to Chloe in that moment 🫢. So my plan is that she finds the dragon miraculous but no one finds out, and then a few days later a new dragon hero called Ladoness starts joining in on the fights. Not even Beetle Bug or Catico know who she is and at first they do try to get the dragon miraculous back but after a while of her evading that, they realize that she's genuinely trying to help and be a good hero, so they decide to give her the chance.

And because Loong is kinda meant to be like, the typical wise one of the kwamis (edit: for some reason my brain mixed Loong and Sass as one, Sass is more the mentor-ish kwami but I can still see them having similar personalities as close friends), he kinda becomes like Chloe's "Uncle Iroh." It would be a lot of fun banter because of Chloe's selfishness but because he is a cosmic entity, he's the only one she felt like she couldn't exactly say no to without repercussions. Yeah, he never told her that the holder could control kwamis. 1) To be safe, and 2) If she's gonna keep evading giving the miraculous back to its rightful guardian then he's gonna take charge to at least try and make her a better person while he's here.

Now I'm explaining this because she's not exactly wearing the dragon miraculous here. Luka would originally only have the silver diamond shaped necklace before getting the fox, who's disguised form is the boat anchor necklace. And I'm sure you're not blind, noticing that she has the rabbit miraculous on her design sheet. Because my plan is for her identity to eventually be revealed unwillingly, to which she would have to give up the dragon. Symbolizing how she no longer needs one to feel more important now that she's finally made new friends in the art club. Though it is still sad because despite their troubles, she and Loong did grow to care for one another. In the same vein of a responsible older sibling taking care of their troublemaking younger sibling. Think Lilo and Nani from Lilo & Stitch.

Their couple color scheme? Similar clothing colors and opposite hair. Hair: purple vs yellow, easy. Clothing: purple & pink being next to each other on the color wheel. Sharing some light pink while that pink on Juleka is also near white to be compared to the white on Rose's top. Sharing dark/black leggings & shoes. Also giving their tops the opposite design for who you'd expect to be wearing them. To showcase their connection but I also think it better showcases themselves as characters. Because while Juleka is very goth and into the dark and spooky, she also very kind and shy. Meanwhile we know that Rose is sickeningly sweet but she's also into hard rock and heavy metal. I totally see her as being the type of person who you'd never expect to like horror films, but it turns out that she actually loves them. Because they can be a source of releasing pent up stress and anger.

I'mma make a canonical reason for Juleka having red eyes being that she has ocular albinism, which from what I know, can have a side effect of being sensitive to light. Hence how she got into the dark and creepy. Just wanting to be inside or in the dark because of her eye sensitivity. Vampires + other supernatural creatures often being depicted with red eyes in movies/stories, which made her feel a little more seen as a child who had no one else that shared this unique trait of her's. So despite being made fun of for her red eyes as a kid, she's always emulated the aesthetic of vampires as a way to kinda embrace it. Encouraged by her mother. Who taught her that bullies aim to make you feel bad about what makes you special and if you take pride in it, then those bullies can't win.

Juleka still has some sense of self diffidence about her eyes because of the bullying and no one else in her real life not having it, but she never lets it show.

As for Rose's story, she was still sick at some point like in canon. But I'm specifying it so that it was a massive tumor she had in her head. One so big that when it was finally removed, it left a massive empty space in her head and that is what causes her headaches. Her head muscles pulsating because there's not supposed to be a pocket space there. She is perfectly fine but because Juleka looked up on tumors to be safe (if you still have pains after a tumor removal, it might mean that it's grown back) she now has a constant fear about it. And yes, having an empty space in your head and still being perfectly functional is possible. I've seen situations where the brain was even worse but the person was fine and I even went over this idea with my mom who works at a hospital. The human body is fucking insane.

Though this is how Juleka and Rose actually met. The year prior, Juleka was repeating she was assigned next to Rose in class to help her with class work (because she was having memory/learning troubles during treatments and after the surgery) for extra grade points. And befriending Juleka is how she was introduced to the horror genre as well. It's... weirdly what helped manage to emotionally get her through the stress of having surgery. The logic would probably be something along the lines of, "nothing like what that slasher or werewolf did would ever happen in the operating room." To us that's very weird logic but to a child/preteen, that makes sense, ya know? When Rose is older and looks back on it, even she's confused about that logic.

And just to leave off to the next couple, with their pair coloring rule on their superhero forms: While the deep green of Juleka's turtle suit is kind of a stretch to match with Rose's bright yellow, they still share black, and Juleka's suit also sports plenty of light green, light yellow and orange accents. And the opposing hair? Rose's is yellow with black bits and Juleka's is black with yellow bits.

I'll be deadass that I basically just straight up yoinked this outfit for Marinette from Zoe-oneesama's Scarlet Lady au Bubbler ep. That being said, I did change it up a little, like the dots on her dress top not being messy splotches rather than a polkadot pattern. Adding a little pink stitching to the vest, and including the flower pattern that Marinette has on her canon shirt onto her new shirt AND on her shoes. I also changed the necklace to make the heart pendant smaller, but then the fit felt too bottom heavy so I tried to even it out a little by putting pearls on the chain that got bigger the further back they went on her neck.

Now you already know their colors are inverted and where so I don't need to explain that. Though I will say that instead of Mari's hair being canonically black, just looking blue to the audience because it's easier to animate, in my au Marinette straight up just dies her hair blue. Everyone else that had the blue hair effect like Marc, Sabine, Kagami, etc, their hair will be just straight up black (with a blue sheen for Marc just bc). Marinette dying her hair will be similar to Marc's clothing switch; she's her scaredy cat self in the origins episodes, but then she sees how scared Beetle Bug also is on TV before he fights through the fear and it inspires her to do the same. The next day her hair is dyed and she finally takes her first stand against Chloe. Though you may have noticed her eyes are brown. Straight up, I just think she looks cuter with the dark eyes.

And as you can see above, she'll be getting the pig miraculous. 1) Because the colors I'll use are the perfect inverted colors of my Aspik design for Adrien (ironically I had picked the pig before I realized this) and 2) Part of Marinette's character in this au is that she helps brighten up Marc's school life, doing everything she can to try and help him make friends in spite of his anxiety. Her super name is Primrose.

And you know what? I'll put this here just for clarification that the whole Kim at the Pool incident does not exist in this au. It was a spiteful attempt to further assassinate Chloe's arc, make you feel bad for Marinette, justify her stalking, and it ruined Kim in the process. Meanwhile I had been planning out this au for a long time – back just before season 4 ended – I had already planned for a scenario similar to the Kim/Pool incident to be something that happened to Marc in the past. So no, this is not me taking Marinette's development and giving it to Marc or anything. This was me deleting it from Marinette bc it makes no sense for her and then my own idea I made before certain episodes had been released happened to match up in show later. It happens all the time within fanworks.

So the pig's powers will stay the same, as it represents Mari's role in Marc's life now and because it does essentially trap opponents in a trance. So it's perfect for distractions.

And I already gave a summed up rundown of Adrien's plot in the pt. 2 post. But what I will say while I'm on the topic, is that the canon plot that is going on about keeping the truth about Gabriel a secret from Adrien; I'm just gonna kinda slide that over to Nathaniel's mom...

Yes, unlike the bully/pool plot thread going to Marc because of coincidence, this is literally me just recycling Adrien's plot for Nathaniel. Because in this au Adrien starts off having already found out that he's a sentibeing and having his villain era, so there was really nothing else to take from the canon show for Adrien's plot here. He's still very present mind you, he'll have his own redemption as well, but it's nothing from the canon.

Listen, the plot going on in canon season 6 right now can genuinely be super interesting. It's just with the way this show built up to it, I can't bring myself to be invested. Not to mention I had already written my au to make it so that Gabriel never uses the butterfly miraculous, therefore he never goes batshit crazy and genuinely tries to be a better father for Adrien after he sees what Adrien was willing to do because he emotionally neglected him. I had done this because in early seasons, we had seen hints to the idea of Gabriel actually caring for Adrien only for that to be retconned until the very end when he died and finally seemed to care... I think. (This man's definition of love makes no fucking sense y'all).

However in my rewrite, I was already making Nate's mom a piece of shit with no redeeming qualities and I was just gonna leave it at that honestly. Because sometimes abusive-parent situations just aren't solved and people can do nothing but try to move on afterwards. But recently I was thinking over the au and what I may need to edit/change and I suddenly just had the thought of like... Maybe I could make it work. Because I like to challenge myself in my rewrites by trying to recycle everything. Nate's mom wouldn't manage to make the wish, fuck that noise 'cause she'd trade Nate for her husband without hesitation. But the idea of Nathaniel's mom being a villain and defeated (she had to be killed to be stopped) but then Marc – who has already been also dealing with a ton of other stresses I won't bring up here – doesn't know how to break it to Nate that he killed his mom and doesn't know how horrible of a parent she was. So he lies that she sacrificed herself to stop the big bad. Which would do nothing but shatter Nate's brain because "wtf do you mean? Since WHEN would she care?!!"

Just that tension you'd feel. The weight of the lie hovering while Nathaniel starts reimagining his mom in a better light for her sacrifice, only to eventually find out he had been bamboozled? It would be like losing another parent all over again for him as well as another betrayal. This time from his mother as well as his partner. Bro would full on. Crash. Out. Deservedly so. Low-key that would straight up break Nate's psyche, 'cause he already heavily blames himself for his dad's death. This plot just makes more sense here than what canon has offered this far imo.

That situation really is juicy as hell and as a writer/artist, I know that you need to make the most compelling story beats connected to your main character(s). Which in this au, is Marc and Nathaniel.

But idk, let me know what you think on this idea, I could just completely drop it for what I was doing before if y'all feel like it's too much recycling between characters. I would genuinely love the feedback, I'm always second questioning myself with these things.

Well on to our last design I GUESS 😅🤣

And Alix being the easiest to make color-wise because she's not being paired with anyone. Go my Aro Queen 😚 Her look might just be my favorite out of the bunch, she just looks badass. I did get the fit design from THIS Pinterest pic but the colors are all my choosing. I usually use a mix of Pinterest and Gacha life 2 for the character designing process. Which, funnily enough, when making the fit on gacha I had used a few different things to make the shoes sport all the colors in a way to connect the color pallet across the board. Only to realize like a week ago that I basically just straight up gave her her canon shoes 🥲 I mean if it works, it works and it helped me in designing the front of her hat to match. I like to think her shoes and hat are merch of a popular roller derby team and then she just switched out the black laces for pink. I can then imagine her recycling one of the black laces to use as her hair tie as well, she would totally do that.

And yes the backpack is just an Arcane/Jinx backpack recolored and drawn over, I just did not have the energy to trace and re-color in the backpack myself like I did for the others. Maybe later, I'll edit this post. But I do see Alix as being one to draw/color/spray paint all over backpack for fun.

In terms of her backstory, she is raised in a family of historians/egyptologists but she never gained the same love for it that her parents and brother did. Instead she was always more active and wanted to watch the sports channel more than the history channel. So because her family doesn't know how to further connect with her, they just kinda leave her to her own devices. They're not neglectful by any means, in fact her dad feels awful about how he can't really connect with her interests. But they all, Alix included, decided that they're fine just kind of doing their own things during most days and then just having dinner to talk about how each other's day went before bed. Staying connected in their own way while not annoying each other by trying to force a closer connection. Though Alix does go out of her way to stick to the louvre when she has nothing else to do or is doing homework, so she can read over the paintings and scriptures while skating around, so she can at least keep up with what her family talks about during dinner. (She and fam live right next to the louvre bc her dad is also curator.) Though even with them all understanding, that doesn't stop her teenage emotions from feeling just a little resentful about being stuck in a family where none of them understand her.

That being said, Alix is Nathaniel's childhood friend. Having met at the louvre when Nate went with his dad to see the pretty art. Always having his back and trying to get him to socialize again after his father's death. Making sure to cover for him whenever he "disappears."

To which I'll finally say this here to leave this post off with; that I do plan on changing up the whole "secret identity rules." Because Beetle Bug and Catico have no idea where their miraculous came from or anything, they had just decided to keep their ID's a secret from each other as well just to be safe until they learn more. (Note: my Master Fu is gonna be more competent but would've expected them to share their ID's. When he finds out, he decides that as long as they still have total trust in each other, it probably is the safer option for now.) Within the first or second season, the pressure of being a superhero on top of meeting new people would definitely get to Marc eventually and he would break the secret to Luka. Some time after (1-3 eps later) he talks to Catico about how he's revealed his ID but it was to his closest friend during a low moment. Talking it out, they decide to still keep it a secret from each other, but they're both allowed to intrust their identity to 1 in their civilian life. To make things fair and for better support outside the mask.

Hence Luka would know Beetle Bug's ID and Alix would know Catico's.

Now knowing Nate is a super hero, she ain't gonna lighten up into terms of athletic training. She used to go easy on him when they'd play wrestle and such growing up, because he was never as strong or active... Not anymore. He needs to stay vigilant for any scenario, she's going all in from now on because he needs it and it's funny when he fumbles. She'd be a lot like Toph with Aang in ATLA, Alix be a real G out here 😂

"sometimes i run out and just grab the first one i see getting off the train."

so OF COURSE you track down the my melody pair and start to comb through his blonde hair

"okay, done!" you open up your phone camera and hold it out in front of kenma. he quickly pauses his game and lightly grasps your hand holding the phone as he checks himself out.

he gently swats your arm away and swaps the phone in your hand with his hand in the process, "babe, noo."

"just one? please?" you pry.

he shakes his head and takes your hand up to his lips, kissing it but mumbling out against it a firm...

"ken."

his eyes are still glued to the screen...

"no."

"with a cherry on top?"

he turns and leaves a quick kiss on your lips, looking into your eyes before whispering...

despite all his protests, though, rest assured you walked away that night with a new photo in your favorites album: kenma covering his face with his controller with the purple and pink sanrio bunnies holding up two blonde pigtails on the top of his head.

but that was inevitable, he could never resist his baby for too long.

he lets you take a few pictures before you hand him your phone to look for other hairstyles, & he takes the phone with a quick kiss to your lips

he scrolls on your phone trying to find a new hairstyle to have you do as you start undoing the ponytails on his head. his hair dried a bit while the pigtails were in, so you run your hand through his hair and ruffle it up a little bit to get rid of the indent the hairties made.

"oh! what about this one," bokuto beams, holding up a pinterest pin of a manbun, "do you think i got enough hair for you to do it?"

you take your phone back to get a better look at it as bokuto tries to gather up as much of his hair in his two hands and hold it up in an... attempt at a manbun.

you look at him and feel laughter bubble up in your chest, but you manage to make out a, "well we can certainly try, kō."

"really? can we?" he smiles at you. you nod and bokuto dives in to kiss you through your giggling. after a moment, you feel the still-damp ends of his hair fall to brush against your forehead, as his hands go from holding his makeshift manbun up to gently holding the face of his one and only love.

so you sit crossed-legged in front of each other on the floor, and you have him hold the comb and hairties

he sits there all pouty as he has to bend down a bit for you to reach his hair bc he's so tall end me

NO PICTURES!!! the bastard even tries to hide your phone

"tetsu! give it back!" you complain. you've crawled into his lap and yet his arm still holds your phone too high up and out of your reach. "i swear i won't post it anywhere–just one picture, please?"

"absolutely not!" he says through a chuckle. he cranes his neck up and uses your phone to look at his own reflection. he groans at the sight of his spikey locks sticking out from the two pigtails on his head.

"babe," he whines, "this is really messing with my self image."

"yeah right, as if the rest of you isn't literally perfect."

"not true! as long as my hair is concerned right now. but y'know what?" he finally brings your phone back down to his side but holds the side of your face with his free hand.

"what," you deadpan, before trying to quickly grab your phone back. but to your dismay, he holds it out behind his back and out of your reach once again as he continues.

"i'd feel a bit better if i could get a kiss. just a little one," he mumbles with that shit-eating grin you can't help but love, "who knows, maybe i'll feel so much better that i can give your phone back."

"and let me take a picture?" you ask hopefully.

he looks into your eyes and starts to caresses your cheekbone with his thumb, "well... that might depend on how good this kiss goes, yeah?"

least to say you got your photo, and then some other perks while you were at it.

you can really see his two beauty marks with his hair pulled up and you give them a little kiss when you're finished

"look at him komori," you coo, facing sakusa's phone camera toward him with his cousin on the other end of the line. you had called komori to show off your work, but sakusa couldn't care less as he clings to you now that you're finally finished doing his hair.

"wow cous', this is definitely a new look for you," the brunette giggles through the phone. sakusa tries to hide his face in your neck and groans,

"don't you have anything better to do, motoya? bye."

and with that, sakusa takes hold of your hand and hangs up the call on his phone.

"i quite like it, omi! your cousin agrees with me too," you tease. sakusa can't help but chuckle lightly as his arms wrap around your torso tighter. you can feel the smile creep onto his lips against the skin of your collarbone.

"yeah, whatever. we can do this more often, i guess," he sighs, "the you-playing-with-my-hair thing, not the my-cousin-being-involved thing, mind you."

“‘sahi stop moving,” you giggle. all he can do is hum in bliss as you try to get his hair together amidst him leaning into your touch every other second.

"love, is the first one done yet?" he asks innocently, eyes closed, as if his scheming hasn't costed you an extra 20 minutes or so trying to fix his hair up.

"just keep watching your highlights and keep your head still!" you plea with a hairtie between your teeth, finally managing to gather one half of his hair into a ponytail. and just as you were ready to stretch the hairtie out and make the first loop around the bunch of wavy brown hair that you had in your hand, asahi just so happens to readjust how he's sitting beneath you, making some locks fall out from your grasp.

"asahi!" you let go off the hair and draw out a frustrated sigh. you can hear him chuckle as he leans his head against your thigh, turning his head to look up at you.

his hand is already guiding your dejected one back towards his hair, "oops, sorry angel. i guess you'll have to start all over again."

in the lulls of your conversation you can feel his thumbs lovingly glide back and forth along your hips im dying i love him

you stand behind yamaguchi in the cramped bathroom, him hunched over the sink as he observes himself and the new look you’ve given him.

you watch him through the mirror as he holds back a smile. his hand reaches about to touch the points at which the tips of his olive hear sprig out from the pigtails of your doing, his stomach peeking out from his worn out white tshirt as it lifts a little at the careful movements he makes.

he finally breaks the silence “yeah… i wouldn’t go out like this anytime soon.”

the two of you can’t help but burst out in laughter, at how ridiculous he looks and the ridiculous way you two have just passed the evening. the sound echoes along the tiled walls of the bathroom.

as your laughter dies down, yamaguchi turns and wraps those same arms that were poking at the pigtails in his hair, around your waist.

he pulls you close, “but they look good, love. maybe just not for me."

you look up at him and he swears he can see a universe of stars in your eyes, "you really think so tada? they were kind of rushed..."

"of course!" he leans his forehead to yours and touches his nose to yours, "maybe we can open a hair salon for you to hone your skills."

his comment makes you giggle, and he can't help but lean in closer to give your smiling lips a quick peck.

you knew the only way you could achieve getting pigtails on this guy was by ambushing him

so as he's dozed off on the bed, you slowly maneuver your way behind him

mf's a heavy sleeper so you eventually realize you actually don't have to be super gentle as you pull his hair into two little ponytails

his hair's already parted down the middle so it's pretty easy

goddamn is his hair silky smooth

you gotta ask for what products he uses bc holy shit why's he been gatekeeping them from you

i feel like his hair is long enough that actually they kind of sag down once you put them up in little curves coming out the top of his head like a bunny!!

but just as you're looping the hairtie one more time around the second pigtail, you accidentally pull on it a bit too hard and it quickly snaps against the top of his head ouch lmao

suna groans as he starts to shift and stir awake at the feeling of his head getting bonked. you have to restrain yourself from laughing as he absent-mindedly reaches back to see who it is that woke him up from his nap, hand slowly patting down your side. even through his sleepy haze, he can tell it's you and he lightly hums in contentment before turning around and engulfing you in his arms.

"sorry, rin, i didn't mean to wake you," you whisper.

for a brief moment as he's cuddling into you, he opens an eye to see your face. though you were trying hard to contain them, your laughter starts to escape between your upturned lips and suna's brows furrow in confusion. what's so funny?

he leans back again to find his phone on the bedside table and you watch as he catches a glimpse of his new hairdo before he can check the time.

all you hear is him mumbling something along the lines of, "you're something else," before he's plopping his phone down onto the sheets and he's tucking his head under your chin.

the two pigtails tickle your face like feathers as your ears begin to pick up on the sound of light snores as suna peacefully dozes off once again.

pigtails out of yours and oikawa's hair, you're cleaning up the products and hairties scattered across the bedsheets when you accidently brush over the screen of oikawa's phone. the screen lights up with one of the photos you just took with him: you both winking at the camera with pigtails sticking out from the tops of your heads. there's some digital stickers he selected scattered about the photo, as well (a lot of hearts and flowers). he's in another room getting the two of you a snack.

"tōru! can you come over here real quick?"

you hear the pitter-patter of his footsteps as he rushes back to you with chips and drink cans in his hands, "what's up, precious?"

his phone in your hand, you hold it up to him for the screensaver to appear again, "are you serious? did you have to pick this one?"

at that instant he doubles over in laughter, so much so he embraces his arms around your head and falls onto the mattress again, making you both lay down next to each other. he moves his hands to hold your face, "what, why such the long face? you don't like it?"

"no... it's just that everyone who picks up your phone is gonna see it now," you explain, starting to laugh yourself because this boy's laugh is irresistibly contagious.

he leans in to give butterfly kisses to your nose, "yeah, that's kind of the point my love. want everyone to know how happy i am when i'm with you. don't we look so happy in that picture?"

you roll your eyes and reach up to play with his hair again as you two lay there in love, "i guess. but i can't believe you look better in pigtails than i do!"

"i look good a lot of the time," he jokes. his eyes drift down to your lips and after a beat, he presses his lips to yours briefly.

"but not even i can be more beautiful as you are all of the time."

and once again: hilarious dialogue, heavy and dark undertones. jen has very, very legitimate reasons to hate and mistrust agatha, even more than she realizes. she will never open up to agatha like the others, and that's both fair and sexy of her. tbh she was too kind all things considered, that bitch deserved her ass kicked from here to the afterlife

case in point, agatha knows jen well enough to manipulate her into joining them. and jen knows agatha well enough to say what will hurt her. she picked the worst thing she could come up with

billy and the audience don't notice that agatha has just been stabbed in the heart

partners in crime, once again! agatha is so proud of her boy's lil manipulative side. and yep, billy is not as naive as he tries to appear. he's still a bit clueless, but he tries.

love how they're so deliberate in depicting the witches as a legit community with its own culture and history.

watch this scene again. now think about the rage and soul and desperation jen pours into winning her powers back from agatha. look at the way these two are being both so casual and so callous about jen's deep, bleeding trauma. not so funny a scene anymore, is it?

agatha shoving a fistful of paper in her mouth so she doesn't have to say rio's name also goes in the top five funniest list. she'll never beat the toddler allegations

and now she's gobbling a corn dog! see what I have to deal with here?? how can I keep it classy?

what's really iconic is bringing your gay son to hot topic

alice always looks a little hunched down, as if she had, idk, a giant disgusting harpy sitting on her shoulders. the more I think about it the sadder it gets

oooh, those are dorothy pigtails. i get it now.

you know, I said yesterday that agatha successfully cons jen and alice, but that's not true. she couldn't have swayed jen without billy's help, and she had alice completely wrong. she thought alice was looking for her mom, but Lorna didn't die on the Road and alice always knew it was a con - she's actually the world's biggest Road expert after agatha herself. seems like Agatha is pretty desperate and out of her depth without her mind reading powers. (wait, do we think billy is the one doing the mind reading, is that why he got to jen so easily?)

seeing her being so cruel with people's deep seated traumas is really upsetting me. especially considering how she guards her own trauma. feeling guilty afterwards is no justification, she knows exactly what she's doing.

these two need their own show. oh wait, they already have it.

but agatha saying "we don't need her" and then pushing people around in the mall - she is upset about what she just did to alice. and she's almost relieved she said no, that she gets to spare her. sweet, sad alice, so spiky on the outside, soft as a marshmallow on the inside. she did not deserve any of this. her death is entirely on agatha.

sighing and looking wistfully out of the window, she's in pain but determined to go on

meanwhile detective agnes is working hard to figure billy out, you can practically see the gears turning inside her head. I think at this point she already kind of knew, tbh. "I have a theory, but I need more."

The warehouse throbs with a bassline that could crack ribs.

Scorched earth of Hidalgo-Cochise borderlands underfoot, corrugated walls crumbling and bleeding graffiti: GOD HATES YOUR FUCKING PULSE. The air reeks of diesel and sagebrush, the kind of nowhere place that swallows screams and buries bodies. Tonight, though, The Dead Zone’s alive, vibrating the sand out of scorpion carcasses. Some fucker in neon shuttershades and black PVC (callsign: GLITCHGOD) is DJing a remix of Clubbed to Death spliced with Gregorian chants, emergency sirens, and the thock-thock of helicopter blades. When he screeches into the mic, his voice distorts through a pedal that makes him sound like a chipmunk. “BUSH DID 9/11!” The crowd surges; screams back. It’s a slaughterhouse ballet in the pit. Tweakers with meth-jaw tremors rub shoulders with trust fund coke-heads. Jock-straps, pigtails, balaclavas, tutus, U of A hoodies—somewhere there’s a Ventrue neonate in a fucking pantsuit and Louboutins. A shirtless guy with a soul-patch grinds up on a goth chick whose fishnets are shredded from climbing barbed wire fencing. Their sweat mingles with the underlying brine of blood, ozone and festering needle tracks clinging to the walls. Over by the bar (huge, spray-painted plywood board; oil drums), a frat boy pukes Jägermeister and glowstick fluid onto his box-fresh high-tops. His buddies laugh and shout “dude!” and film it on flip phones and BlackBerry’s.

On the opposite side of brick and mortar, a Gangrel shovelhead tears into some drunk kid’s throat mid-piss behind creosote. His carotid crunches like a honeycrisp apple. (Body’ll be found at sunrise, blamed on coyotes.) No one cares. The desert especially doesn’t give a fuck about you. The rules here, for both kine and Kindred, are simple: Don’t piss off the bikers guarding the doors. (Those aren’t bikers, by the way.) Julian leans against a rattling speaker stack near the far end of the space, pale and absurd in his Akira tank top and fingerless gloves, pretending to fix something while actually scouring a laptop he’d swiped from the booth. His mismatched earrings catch fractals of UV every few seconds, and his arms are vein-mapped as they move under blacklight. Sol, absently nodding along to whatever conversation is happening beside her, watches him from where she’s perched at the end of the bar. She’s wearing a thrifted slip dress; backless, the color of dried blood, safety-pinned at the hip; a pair of glowstick bangles, and boots that’ve stomped through worse than this. Her hair’s a glossy, dark pool gathered en masse over one shoulder, Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in red and black ink on full display up her spine. They're supposed to be tracking an informant—a starved ghoul left to dry, now trading Cam intel for blood on the border. She’s supposed to be charming the Anarch envoy slouched next to her—some Brujah fuck with a septum ring and a “KILL YOUR LOCAL LANDLORD” patch sewn into his denim vest. He’s been monologuing about dialectical materialism for twenty minutes, spittle flecking his beard. But she’s bored. She’s always bored without Julian.

The Brujah’s still talking. “—so like, Marx’s theory of alienation under capitalism is basically the same as the Beast, right? We’re all just—” Sol cuts him off by sliding off the stool, her hip brushing his knee. “Gonna smoke,” she lies. “I’ll come—” “No.” She’s already walking, kine parting for her like she’s got a fucking forcefield. Her eyes stay locked on Julian as he chews his lip, thumb jamming the spacebar. She knows that look. When she’s close enough to smell him—bergamot oil and static—she hooks a finger into the belt loop of his jeans and yanks. “Jesus!” He spins, but his glare quickly dissolves into a grin. “I’m working.” “You’re losing,” she corrects, nodding at the screen. A progress bar’s frozen at 69%. “Nice.” He snorts. “Firewall’s got more layers than your mom’s—” “Finish that and I’ll rip your dick off, Sim.” “You’d miss it.”

Sol’s cheeks dimple (lopsided) when she smiles, teeth turned violet under the blacklight, the barest hint of fang. She steps closer, her knee nudging his thigh. Julian’s irises are voids; she can see the hunger in him—not for blood, but for the win. “Take a break,” she says, softer. “Dance with me.” “Dance?” He barks a little laugh. “You know I don’t—” The Brujah envoy’s watching them now. So’s the Ventrue in the Louboutins, pretending not to. Julian hesitates—then slams the laptop shut. “Fine. One song.” “Two.” “Don’t push it.” She grabs his wrist, cold and corded, and drags him into the swarm. “THIS ONE’S FOR ALL YOU DEAD FUCKS IN THE HOUSE—YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!” It’s a remix of Closer, reverb heavy enough to thrum the stale blood in their veins, with intervals of deep-sea whale song. Sol sways first, all hips and dark eyes and waterfall-curls, her dress slipping off one shoulder, accidentally-on-purpose. Julian stands stiff, arms crossed, like he’s waiting for the beat, or Trent Reznor, or GLITCHGOD, to punch him. “Relax,” she shouts over the noise. “I am relaxed.” “You look like you’re cosplaying a fucking utility pole.” He laughs, sharp and sudden, and, yeah, he cracks. His shoulders drop. His head tips back, throat bobbing as he lets the rhythm hit him—there.

Sol turns, dodging a raver’s elbow, and closes the distance until her back’s to his chest. He doesn’t say anything, but his hands immediately find her hips, thumbs pressing into the divots of her pelvis. The contact zips through her like a live wire; an overwhelming urge to rouse the Blood. She leans into him as they move. The song fractures into static, then a warped sample of Toxic meets The Exorcist. Sol grinds against him. He’s half-hard. “Sol,” he warns. She continues, smiling. It’s evil. His grip tightens. He spins her, pins her front to his chest, his hand sliding up her ribs to cup her breast. Her nipple pebbles under the thin fabric. Sol’s cheeks flush by the millisecond as blood starts to move. Her lips graze the smooth sweep of his jaw. Julian’s fingers dig into her waist. He’s straining against her lower stomach. The song ends. The crowd howls. “One more,” she says by his ear. “Sol—” “One more.” He gives her a look—but nods.

This track’s slower, dirtier, all distorted moans and sub-bass—no whales. Her hands slide to his chest. His heart doesn’t beat, obviously—what’s under her palm is a sick mimicry—but his skin is heating up, beginning to glisten, and she feels the want between them. Her lips find his neck. Fangs drag along soft, supple white flesh. Julian stiffens slightly—not fear, but awareness as the Beast prickles under his skin. Sol licks a hot, wet stripe up his jugular; savors the feel of his Adam’s apple stressing under the press of her tongue when he swallows reflexively. She nips his chin, then his bottom lip. He shudders. When she pulls back in his arms her eyes are different. Not the color (dark brown, restless—always fucking restless), not the shape (almond, long-lashed). It’s the way they move. Flicker. Slow. Deliberate. Like a snake uncoiling in sunlight. She’s staring at his throat. The crowd surges again as Julian leans to kiss her. His mouth misses hers as they’re thrown between sticky bodies, his lips skimming along her scar. He cups the back of her head and pretends he meant to lick her instead. She laughs, grabbing fistfuls of his tank top to drag him toward the exit. He follows without protest, grinning, a little dizzy. Outside, the desert slams into them like a brick wall—110 degrees past midnight, air so dry it leeches the spit from their fangs. The rave’s bassline thumps muted through cinderblocks. Fifty yards away, a body lies in the dirt, throat torn wide, one Reebok still twitching. Julian’s already texting a cleanup crew. “Fuck’s sake, can’t even eat neat,” he mutters, squinting at his Razr’s green glare. “Amateur hour out here.”

Sol leans against a rusted shipping container, watching him pace and type. Wispy black bangs fall over his eyes and he scrunches his nose, tongue peeking. Moonlight slicks his collarbones. She wants to bite into that divot between neck and shoulder, all meat, where his pulse should be. Wants to make him forget every line of code, every dead drop, every shred of control he’s white-knuckling. “Julian.” “Hm?” She steps into his space, hips swaying slow, deliberate. He doesn’t look up. “Julian.” “What?” Her palm slams the container beside his head. The metal dents. He finally meets her eyes, brows raised. “You’re being a shitty date.” “We’re working.” She ghosts her lips over his jaw. “C’mon. You’re two firewalls from stroking out.” He huffs, thumb still jabbing keys. “Listening to Das Kapital: The Remix for an hour didn’t help.” “You’re the one who picked this shithole to scout first.” “You’re the one who—” She kisses him.

Not the soft, teasing shit from inside—this is all teeth and hunger, her tongue demanding and pleading both. Julian makes a noise between a groan and a sigh, phone clattering to the dirt as he fists her hair. His other hand finds her ass, yanking her flush against him. She grinds down, feeling him harden further through his jeans, the seam catching her clit just right. “Fuck,” he hisses against her mouth. “We’ve got ten minutes before—” “Stop planning.” She bites his lower lip hard enough to draw vitae. The coppery tang blooms between them. She kitten-licks it. His hips jerk. “Sol—” “Shut up.” Her hands dive under his shirt, nails raking down his ribs. He’s all lean muscle and smooth skin, twitching under her touch like a live wire. “Let me fix it.” He laughs, breathless, exasperated. “Fix it how? You gonna suck my dick in a meth den parking lot?” “Tempting.” She drops to her knees. “Solona.” He frowns; his hand catches her chin. Not harsh, but firm. “Not here.” “Since when do you care about audience participation?”

The tension crackles louder than the rave going on inside. Finally, he caves. “Fuck it.” His hand slides behind her neck, pulling her up and into another kiss. This one’s slower, deeper, his tongue mapping hers with precision that makes her toes curl. When he breaks away, his lips trail down her throat, peppering breathy, open-mouthed kisses. “Wait,” he murmurs against her skin. “The bond—" She shivers. “So?” “So I’m trying to be responsible. We talked about this.” His thumb brushes the safety pin at her hip. “Three bites, and you’re mine. That terrify you yet?” “You wish.” “I do, actually.” She grabs his wrist, pressing his palm to her chest. Her heart’s a useless vestige but the vitae makes sure he feels the echo—whatever that means now. “Take it.”

Julian’s jaw clenches. The Beast stirs behind his eyes; ripples in oil spill. For a second, she thinks he’ll agree—let the thread snap tight. Instead, he exhales sharply and steps back. “Not like this.” “Like what? Me begging?” She advances, backing him against the container. “You want me to get on my knees again? Say please?” “I want you to think.” His voice cracks. “Once we cross that line—” “We crossed it when you Embraced me.” “That was different.” “Bullshit. You’ve wanted this since—” They freeze before the gun cocks. “Real fucking cute.” The voice comes from behind a stack of pallets—raspy, smoke-ravaged, distinctly Texan. Julian’s eyes flick to Sol—stay cool. Sol turns very slightly, very slowly. Mid-forties, sun-leathered skin, neck tattoos, camo pants stained with what might be dried blood. Guy’s got a sawed-off shotgun levelled at Julian’s chest. “Y’all the new attack dogs?” He spits tobacco. “Heard you were asking about me. Expected scary vamp motherfuckers to be honest, not two fucking kids playing tonsil hockey.” Sol’s on him before he finishes speaking; fangs bared, pupils catching moonlight, the Beast reflecting it back; a snapping, serrated hunger that unfurls beneath acrid dry lungs and hisses out of her windpipe. Her claws—Caitiff-crude—punch down through the man’s thick wrist like three fucking machetes before he can pull the trigger. The gun clatters. He screams right as GLITCHGOD yells some bullshit about the illuminati, then Sol’s boot’s between his shoulders, pushing him face-first into the dirt. He curls around his hand—what’s left of it. The shotgun lies in pieces.

Julian crouches, karambit hooked to the howling motherfucker’s throat, keeping him relatively still, relatively quiet. “Let’s try this again,” he says. Sire voice. “You’re Marcus Keene. Ghoul. Ex-Camarilla. Recently acquired some very interesting intel about a certain Elder’s haven.” One Marcus Keene continues to weep over the sand. Julian presses the blade deeper. A bead of blood wells. “Look, man, I’d love to do this the hard way—peel you like a grape, feed your intestines to the coyotes—but my associate here?” He nods at Sol. “She’s got dinner plans.” Sol leans down, lips brushing the ghoul’s ear. “I’m starving.” “Talk,” Julian says. He does, to his credit. Sol doesn’t listen. She stares back at the warehouse, eyes glassy. Somehow the music’s gotten louder. There’s a figure hunched and skulking on the roof, not even trying to be subtle. A couple are fucking doggystyle in a ditch, and someone’s getting world-class head behind the shipping container on the other side of the ruins by the sounds of it. Two college girls stumble past the bikers out front. One’s crying, clawing at her own face like she’s trying to peel off her skin, dragging thick black eyeliner into rivets down her greasy cheeks. Blood dribbles from her nose; her neck black and purple with bruises. The other just pulls her along. The desert doesn’t give a fuck about you. Sol looks away. “—are on a b-burner phone—left pocket. But I need—” Julian pats him down, retrieves a phone then stands, wiping his blade on his jeans. “See? Was that so—” Sol breaks the ghoul’s neck with a crisp snap. Julian blinks.

“Or we could do that.” She shrugs, staring at the corpse. Julian watches her, brow furrowed. “You good?” “Great.“ His lips twist, like he’s thinking for a moment. “Sol—” She turns away and starts walking towards the trail.

----------- They take the long way home, windows down, radio blasting System of a Down. Julian drives one-handed, the other drumming the wheel. Sol fixes on the stars, legs folded under her. The silence stretches, thick and prickly. Finally, Julian clears his throat. “Back there… you were right.” She side-eyes him. She doesn’t feel right about anything. “The bond. The Embrace. All of it.” His knuckles whiten on the wheel. “Look, I’m trying to do right by you, but—” “But you’re a vampire. I’m a vampire. We’re fucked.” Julian forces a laugh. “Basically.” She studies his profile—the slope of his nose, the set of his jaw. He runs a hand through his hair. Her fingers itch to trace the cross earring dangling from his lobe. “Pull over.” He glances at her, suddenly alert, frowning. “What? Why?” “Pull. Over.” He swerves the Geo onto the shoulder, dust pluming around them. Before he can speak, she’s straddling him, seatbelt digging into her thighs. “Solona—” She kisses him; needy, deep, but sweet, her hands cradling his face. He tenses, then melts, mouth opening under hers, tongue licking into it. Her nails card across his scalp just how he likes. Julian moans, pulling back slightly, dropping his face to her chest. “You’re overcomplicating this,” Sol murmurs into his hair after a moment, fingers still grazing gently, scratching the nape of his neck. He turns his head to the side. His eyes stare up at her, pupils huge, brows pulled apart, and suddenly he’s not her Sire—just another dumb fucking fledgling. “Am I?” “Yes.” She unbuttons her dress, letting it pool around her waist. Julian breathes, softly, unnecessarily. “You want me. I want you. The rest is noise.” “Sol, the bond is—” “Fuck it.” She rolls her hips, making his head loll back with another quiet moan. “I asked for the Embrace. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t want to be.” “But that’s the thing. You might not have a choice soon.” His hands find her thighs, grip soft, steadying. He won’t meet her eyes. Sol leans in, lips brushing his.

----------- Later—much later—when the seats are pushed back and they’re tangled together, limbs slick with sweat and vitae, Sol traces the veins on his wrist. “I don’t want to be careful anymore,” she whispers. “I want it. Nothing else feels like this. Nothing else feels like you.” He tugs her closer, nose buried in her hair, arms tightening, but says nothing. She licks along his forearm, tasting salt and iron, then agonizes suddenly, wanting to attempt levity—but he was always better at that. Julian is silent. She meets his gaze. The Beast is there, pacing behind his eyes, but so is something else—something fragile. She kisses his wrist. The desert swallows the rest.

- LOVES cats sm, has a little tabby named Mr. Darcy who he adores more than anything. Sometimes it'll knock over his inkwells or bat at his quills but he doesn't seem to mind

- He's the youngest of five kids and kind of the black sheep of the family. Rarely got attention besides teasing over his interests growing up, and used books to cope with it

- Doesn't really make eye contact, it makes him really nervous

- he actually briefly knew Harvey as a child and they were each other's only friend. Harvey moved away about 3 years after they met and they finally reunited in Pelican Town

- He can draw, but writing is much preferred

- Wrote letters to Harvey after he moved. When he was in highschool his dad got to the mail before him, read a new letter, and forbid him from communicating with Harvey again with no explanation. Elliott was devastated

- Went to college for writing and literature! He was able to publish his first book because he got a very good letter of recommendation from his professors for his work. The money he earned from it helped him get out of his town and away from his family

- Pelican Town has made him feel the most peaceful he's ever felt in his life. The cabin gets lonely, but he's happy and he cant imagine himself anywhere else

Harvey

- His dad was a military medic and unfortunately died while stationed when Harvey was a baby. His grandpa moved in to help raise him, and as mentioned in the previous HCs, was responsible for his interest in being a pilot

- He likes wearing headphones in public to block out loud noises, but gets too shy to do so often because he thinks it'll draw attention to him

- had a secret clubhouse he and Elliott used as a kid (literally just an abandoned garage where they kept a bunch of their stuff) but it meant a lot to them. It was a place to get away from the bullying they faced

- was incredibly short all his life until he got a crazy growth spurt in highschool and wound up being 6'2

- says shit like "good golly!" And "cheese and crackers!"

- he's a nerd, this man does not take his whiskey neat and bed at 3

- HES THE ONE THATS TOO SWEET

- Wrote letters to Elliott a lot after he moved. They stopped when the two of them were in highschool. Harvey sent a letter confessing he had a crush and never got one back, so he thought he did something wrong until he met Elliott again

- his mother is a huge ally and comforted him a lot after that incident. She loves her son so much :(

- He has really bad asthma

Shane

- much of what Jas has is a hand-me-down she got from Shane. All the toys, clothes, and stuff like that are from his childhood before he came out. They're a bit outdated, but Shane and Marnie can't always afford brand new things for her

- He went to college on a gridball scholarship, but studied in Visual Arts. The camera he has in his 7.5 heart event is one he used to make short films for classes.

- Came out to Marnie as trans at 12 and was terrified to do so. She was really accepting and sweet though! He let her be a big part of the new name process too :)

- Jas's parents were also in those classes and the three of them often worked on projects together. It's how they became best friends! He still has all the reels of little films they made, and watches some of them with Jas when they're really missing her parents

- Clint has a one-sided beef with him since Shane is Emily's best friend and ex. He views him as competition for some reason and acts weird about it. Shane has absolutely no clue why and just thinks he's weird

- He got really good at styling hair after he took in Jas. She likes just having her hair in two pigtails mostly but he can do some fun styles!

- Has a lot of health issues post recovery because of how heavy his drinking was. He's sick fairly often and it's frustrating for him

- Driving and being in a car makes him anxious, he prefers to either walk or bike if he can help it

- Let's his hair start growing out after he starts recovery. He gets it to a nice medium length. Tried to go for a mullet but Emily begged him to cut it 😭

- He does NOT like Lewis at all because of how he treats Marnie and he has to restrain himself to act civil, for his his aunts sake

Harley Quinn's designs are terrible and here's why

I swear people do not understand how to properly write Harley Quinn I have been hyperfixated on her for a very long time at this point and I have only read one single comic where I think she's written well and even then in that comic it doesn't really feel like Harley Quinn It's just a well-written character.

there's so many issues regarding sexualization and infantilization with her but I think it's easiest to just focus on her character design, originally she was based off of jesters and playing cards I think this is an intriguing design and it's pretty good especially compared to some of her newer looks but I'll get to that later. her original design makes sense both in costume and outside of it. she's a jester not a clown which inherently differentiates her from the joker sure they're very similar but still fundamentally different. her being a jester isn't the connecting factor to the joker though it's the playing cards specifically 3 of diamonds. That's what tells you that they're on the same team while also showing that he is considered to be more important than her. her original design is a full body suit with a headpiece and a mask. Back when the animated show was released I believe pretty much all of Batman's female villains had kind of a femme fatale thing going on they were supposed to be attractive and even still this is probably Harley's least revealing outfit. as for her out of costume look, honestly I've never quite liked the pigtails but this is where I think it looks best mostly just because it has an actual purpose one to easily put on her headpiece and two because she's a gymnast so it makes sense to tie her hair up. All of these things that I'm praising about her original design are almost completely destroyed later on

One of the main reasons that Harley Quinn's design changed so fundamentally is because of a little old game called vampire the masquerade bloodlines and specifically the character Jeanette. Harley Quinn is basically just Jeanette now both in personality and design, and don't get me wrong I think Jeanette is a fun character I also think Harley Quinn is a very fun character but they are not the same goddamn person and they shouldn't be because they have very different lives one is a literal vampire.

ever since vampire the masquerade bloodlines Harlequin has drastically changed to some extent for the better but in a lot of aspects for the worst especially when it comes to her character design. let's start off with the first thing I hate her long hair it doesn't make sense obviously we know that she likes to have her hair up even before she wore the pigtails she wore her hair up, So tell me why I see designs for her all the time where she's wearing two loose pigtails that do nothing to keep the goddamn hair out of her face also there's no reason for her to even have pigtails anymore because we've just thrown away the jester design I guess. except there is a reason infantilization here's where we get into the nitty gritty Harley Quinn has always been portrayed as somewhat childish and that's not good because I don't think we should be conflating mentally ill with being childish or dumb Harley is actually an extremely intelligent person you can be intelligent and mentally ill and very chaotic and not be childlike. I do understand to A certain extent it's meant to show her in a better light make it obvious that she's being manipulated by the joker, that he's in the position of power but you don't have to be a child to be manipulated and abused. what Harley exhibits around the joker and the way she acts is a fawn response it's appeasement to try and calm the situation down, It doesn't mean that she's childish or stupid it means that she's doing the best she can to get control over the situation she might act dumb sometimes but it's only an act to again appease her abuser and hopefully avoid him becoming more aggressive. I'm not even going to get into right now how this ties into her relationship with ivy but let's just say I'm not very happy about how it's being written.

next is the sexualization of her character. This one is a bit more controversial I think because a lot of people see it as that idea of her owning her own sexuality, but when the character is being written by a male writer that's kind of a moot point, Even when considering that maybe it's not about sexualizing her you have to ask the question why else would her character design have shifted this much now instead of wearing a full bodysuit she's wearing A two-piece that doesn't cover much and that's fine character can totally wear that but I'm of the opinion that a character's design should have a purpose it should show who they are and I don't get how Harley Quinn's current design is it all relevant to who she is as a person or her motivations and goals. there's the argument that it's because she's trying to separate herself from the joker okay well there an easy way to do that without completely destroying her brand image and it's getting rid of the card theming and keeping the Jester theming. she needs a design that actually means something both to the bigger picture of the story and to her as a character. also I feel like Harley Quinn being so heavily sexualized especially after breaking up with the joker just plays into so many fucking stereotypes, about women, about gay people it's all just a mess.

I don't have the perfect solution for what her character design should look like but I definitely have a few ideas, for one short hair I've seen some amazing fucking artwork of her with short hair and it always looks amazing, It gives her this level of separation from the joker and her constant appeasement of him, and honestly It doesn't make her look any less like Harley Quinn, A really fun idea could be a buzz cut with patterns Dyed into it. as for her outfit like I said I feel like she really needs to maintain that jester design but that doesn't necessarily mean that she has to have that full bodysuit it could be more abstract than that and I'd love to see some punk elements mixed in with that jester theming. I mean she's an ex-villain anarchist with a love for chaos and an ecoterrorist girlfriend she's punk as hell. LET MY GIRL BE PUNK

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

this is less of an issue with fandom (although it does pop up) and more of an issue w lobdell's portrayal of roy (specifically in rh/a) but. roy isn't dumb. he's actually very smart!!! there's one issue of wildcats, i think, where he's there w batman and bruce has been fiddling with some piece of tech for ages and roy goes hey let me try :)) i'm not too bad with this kind of stuff :)) and batman's like fine but i don't think it's going to and roy is like okay i fixed it. i have zero clue if this counts as an unpopular opinion but i feel like i have to put it somewhere. i think a funny jaykyle take is that jason develops a very reluctant pigtail pulling infatuation throughout the whole multiverse journey thing but kyle just genuinely dislikes him throughout. does this stop them from making out?? no. no it does not.

"That child is staring at you," Tony says in Steve's ear. They're waiting patiently in line for coffee — at least, Steve is waiting patiently — Tony on the other hand, is quietly contemplating leaping over the counter. Regardless, the little girl in front of them has been gazing adoringly at Steve for the last five minutes, her mother grilling the poor barista about every possible menu option, apparently.

She's adorable, all tiny blond pigtails and huge brown eyes.

"She is not," Steve says. "She's probably looking at you."

She is looking at Steve, though. Tony knows, he invented that lovesick look. Or so he's been told. Repeatedly, and by many sources.

"Sure is. I know that look," Tony says matter of factly, winding his arms around Steve's waist, smiling at the flush that crawls its way up his neck. God, it really would never get old, eliciting that kind of reaction from one Steven Grant Rogers. "I invented that look."

To his credit, Steve tries valiantly to keep a straight face.

"You have graced the cover of Time on numerous occassions for your inventions," Steve muses. "I don't recall being mentioned, though..."

Tony waggles his fingers at the little girl as they finally (finally!) move up in line, her mother finally having made up her mind. She doesn't look away from Steve for longer than a second, but she registers the gesture enough to break out in a smile.

Something, anyway.

"Ah, I'm saving that nugget for our joint Vanity Fair cover. At Home with Captain America and Iron Man... I can see it now," he teases.

Steve's flush deepens. "That's...I... you're not actually planning that are you?" Steve sputters.

"You know babies like pretty people? There's a fun fact for you. Science. You can trust me on that," Tony says, pointing to himself. "Science guy. And you, you are the definition of capital P pretty, Steven."

"Next!"

Tony has to order for them while Steve recovers, still flustered, though he does give in and wave at the baby as she gets carried out of the coffee shop. She squeals loudly, delighted.

"Tell me about it, kid," Tony says, taking Steve by the hand and leading them out the door and into the sunshine, long-awaited coffees in tow.

OH BOY I ASKED FOR ASKS AND I GOT SERVED. I'll go in the order you gave me :p

Eva:

1. Why do you like this character?

There's a couple reasons why i like her, despite her little screentime, and one of them is her hot temper, actually.

To me she only truly gets pissed off in two or three episodes, and they're usually triggered by understandable things; loosing her MP3 player during TDI, and struggling with the interviews during TDWT. Which. I can relate to both, i fucking hate it when i missplace stuff but headphones are especially annoying, and i get frustrated suuper easily when trying out new things. i like angry girls <3

I think the tidbit in her bio about wanting to be a leader, and working on her temper are also interesting and i wish those went anywhere since we don't get a character in a team leadership role that isn't either bossy or a coniving bastard until Sky in TDPI.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

So! Im gonna struggle with this question! Because unless i've directly thought about it before im gonna have like 0 answers lmao

For Eva, the main problem is moreso that the first song that comes to mind is not one for her specifically but one i associate with a heatheva fic i was trying to write - one that matched the vibe of songs i think she'd compose herself. And it was also just a song i was listening to at the time. Sooo Imħabbti by Ghoolie it is!

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character? (the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter)

I can't pick between Izzy and Noah lmao, can't seperate team escope even if i wanted to! Eva's one of the few characters in this cast that can regularly match Izzy's sheer manic energy, and she'd bounce off Noah very well (in my head) and in general i think these two are a good fit with Eva; they all come accross as people that don't have many friends and would treasure the ones they have, even if they're not the most obvious about it. I think it's sweet, and kinda sucks that when people only draw two of team escope Eva's usually the one missing :<

23. Favorite picture of this character?

Honestly, anytime she has a little pout or suprised eyes. or smiles. she so cutie pattotie

Zoey:

1. Why do you like this character?

I'll admit, my favorite parts about her are more conceptual than her in canon? I like that she's kind of an indie girl, since we don't have another girl character that's like her in that way. I also think her judgemental streak and people pleasing tendencies are interesting but i wish they were more clearly displayed in canon. that or im misremembering lol

I also like her haircut! I like how the red dyed hair makes her both stand out next to the other girls, but also means you can't call her red haired without implying she's ginger (and she isn't). Also the pigtails are cute and i like messing around with them in drawings!

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

I've said before that she'd listen to Panchiko (and also The Scary Jokes but i haven't assigned her a specific song) sooo yeah

Oh that's a good question as well since she's already in a canon trio (friendship finale, aka her, Cameron and Mike), and i think both of them are perfectly good choices, since on one hand you have the pretending to be normal duo and on the other you have the super sheltered kid and the one that goes outside, and they can all learn stuff from eachother and in general i find it sweet!

But also i'd be kidding myself if i didn't also think Sierra was a good option? they're both nerdy, weird girls that like Total Drama! They have a bunch of shit in common! I can't pick between these three im sorryyy

1. Why do you like this character?

Both his Cake Entertainment Flyer label and his canon one are interesting to me. Despite how he spent most of his time on screen making sound effects, he seems to be one of the more down to earth characters in the TDPI cast, and while i do like that cast alot i can't deny that it really needed more down to earth characters that aren't just Jasmine (outside of her apparent trust issues) and Sky (who's generally more introverted than anything else)

Also? Characters that like music get points from me by default.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

In general i think Beardo makes his own songs, including keeping around a ton of sounds to use as samples; in general he'd like House and genres similar to them, and considering the equipment seen in his audition tape i think he'd act as DJ for like. parties or some shit. and i think this song right here would be featured in the tracklists quite often vv

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character? (the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter)

Ella. I do not CARE that they don't interact a single time, they're the two song enjoyers of their generation they would get along SO WELL they would try to form a band with Beardo on the instrumentals and Ella on the vocals and use samples from Disney or Fairytale movies and it would be so awesome because they'd both be out of their comfort zones since Ella would be exposed and participate in the creation of music in genres she wouldn't have seeked out on her own otherwise and Beardo would have to write lyrics which he wouldn't have to otherwise!!!

He barely has any appereances in canon so i kinda have to pick the beta design. Boy why are you so devious

Damien:

1. Why do you like this character?

One of the few good things the second season of the reboot did was make me actually care for and like Damien, since he took charge and gained confidence in himself and his abilities! I like the progression from him having the normal person reaction to everything total drama (being freaked out by a ton of shit happening), him slowly adjusting up until he decides he wants to stay before his elimination during Season 1, and then coming back to prove himself during Season 2!

In general he's pretty charming and just. He's a nice dude! i like having him be around! It's nice!

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Either Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon or Registry by COMPUTER DATA. In general his music tastes would be varied, he'd bounce from rock to indie to lofi house to some fourth thing. I picked these two out since the latter uses samples from Mario games and he'd 100% appreciate that, and the former because. I just think he'd be a Lemon Demon fan.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character? (the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter)

That would've been a hard question if canon didn't serve an answer on a silver plator to me thanks to reboot Season 2 again, because it's Nichelle!!! It's Nichelle and it's an easy answer. The contrast between Damien being some guy and Nichelle being a big famous Hollywood actress is very fun, and i don't think Nichelle has actual friends outside of that? So Damien being her actual first friend is great :D

you're right!! lyla is about 13 months old, and you're 16 weeks pregnant with alex - apparently he's the size of an avocado, so you really only have the beginnings of a bump, but you've told absolutely everyone that you're pregnant and they're all treating you like you're made of glass and it's pissing you off something terrible lmfao. but still, everyone's excited for baby healy #2 and also for glasto, and you're 100% sure matty's deliberately being overprotective of you when you're trying to do your literal actual paid job - "nah babe i need to talk to jamie this amount of stress isn't good for you OR the baby", when actually it's less stress than usual cos the glasto team you're liasing with are really professional and efficient lol - so as to distract himself from being nervous, bless him; there's a really sweet moment the week before the festival when you wake up in the middle of the night to find him wide awake beside you, and then you're like "baby... s'ok to be nervous, you know. it IS a big deal" and you open your arms and let him snuggle into you and kiss his head like "you'll be amazing no matter what. and the three of us are so proud of you regardless of how the show goes, but i think it's impossible that it would ever be anything short of incredible". matty just kisses you and says "i really love you, y'know. i'm glad this show's happening when i have you and lyla and the bump there to see it. everything i could ever want, all in one place at one time", and the two of you fall asleep holding each other and it's extremely cute. what's ALSO extremely cute is the festival itself, lyla (and her little tiny pigtails!) flitting between toddling around the bus on the way there or sat on her dad's knee looking in fascination out the window, and giggling and dancing along to the music playing in the dressing rooms, and absolutely BEAMING at matty from the side of the stage when the boys play - it's actually her first show (george makes a joke that "god, she'll expect this level of hype for every show now. we've spoiled that child"), and although she gets a little upset at one point cos she can't just run to matty (real. and he does nip offstage to give her a quick cuddle tho) she has the best time ever. but really, her (and yours and matty's) favourite part is the big family cuddle afterwards, after which she promptly falls asleep on matty quite adorably; him being him, he literally does not put her down for a solid hour and a half, at which point denise puts her foot down and invokes nana rights just so he gets a break, which he literally just uses to cuddle you and the bump instead. he might be a rockstar, but at heart he's just such a dad/basically-even-though-he's-yet-to-propose husband lol. cute!! <3
