Midway through the book I wondered how the story would be if instead of "Lucy is the warning and Mina is the one they must save", Jonathan came back a couple weeks earlier and it was "Mina reads her traumatized husband's journals and can't talk to him about it for fear of hurting his health. So she, Lucy, and one or two of Lucy's maids team up to save Lucy and fight Dracula." Idk if that sparks any drawing inspo?

I love this idea a lot.

I would like to have done more with like the maids and stuff I think it’s a really cool idea but I wanted to get the drawing done this evening and not still be working on it too late.

for the Dracula requests, the Harkers’ wedding! It’s one of my favorite scenes in the book (and favorite fictional wedding tbh)

It has been a very long time coming but it is finally the day for me to post this!

I didn’t realise it was today until I saw marghen’s instagram and had to rush to listen to the episode.

A lot of the tension between Herbert and Meg probably could have been avoided by them bonding over their mutual hatred of Dr. Hill. Herbert mutters something about Hill being a filthy plagiarist and hack when Meg is in earshot and her ears perk up like a bloodhound and she’s like “omg right he’s fucking awful”. Dan comes home to Meg telling Herbert about that time she caught Hill sniffing her hair over sodas and snacks. Rufus is asleep in Herbert’s lap. Meg forgets that she came over to see Dan and he ends up being the third wheel on his own date night because Meg finds out Herbert has never seen Terms of Endearment and oh my god he has to watch, it’s the best romance of all time and Dan never wants to watch it. Herbert gives him a stern look and merely says “Daniel!” in a mock scolding tone. Dan ends up going to bed halfway through the movie - partially because it’s almost midnight and he’s exhausted and partially because he can’t stand the snappiness of it - figuring Meg will head out after the movie ends. Instead she and Herbert go out and egg Hill’s car.

you're easy on the eyes, pretty compliant looking and he's sure he has overheard you discuss with friends that you find the whole 'vampire scene' to be hot. easy prey, he thinks. and as a bonus, it'll be his stupid form of get back. him and you have never been on good terms and he just cannot wait to see the expression on your face when you realize the alluring, charming vampire that has approached you turns out to be the guy you've been looking down at and calling an idiot this whole time.

what he didn't account for- is that your approach from start to finish is too fishy... is that vampire fantasy perhaps not just a fantasy but an experience already? how come you seem to be one step ahead of him, what's with the gradual change in your demeanor that he otherwise wouldn't have noticed were he not looking forward to your absolute surprise-

until he realizes a little too late that the hunter has been the prey this whole time. sure, there were rumors of older vampires around, not just by years but experience too, master of some of the vampiric crafts or just the life of the night- nothing but pure, filthy, demonic blood coursing through their veins unless currently feeding on their latest course.
