Unfortunately, it’s not another Natsby hc. I know, I know, I love them too, but sometimes you’re insane like me and obsess over a background character and a bill board 👌

So, I know that’s I’ve joked about this before but I’ve never really expanded on it. So, I have this HC that TJ Eckleburg and the owl eyed man are angels—

Let me explain.

It’s quite clear with TJ’s billboard has symbolism to sight and something all seeing. Like George said— the billboard was the “eyes of god.” And, it would be quite interesting if the man himself had those literal abilities. Which I consider the angel of life. (I like to think he has this diorama of the entirety of New York. He’s a people watcher, what can I say.)

When I say life, I mean it in a more broad definition of it. Meaning, it’s not only the beginning of life but all points of it. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Now, the owl eyed man is interesting here. I consider him to be the angel of death. Just think about it— not only did he foreshadow the death of Jay Gatsby with his car accident, he was one of the only people there. Which says a lot about his character.

Was all this meant to be taken literally from the book? No. BUT!! But but but, it’s interesting to think about. Even if there is no supernatural bits of the great Gatsby.

So I made this earlier, based on the picture that’s been going around today

It was originally going to be more accurate to the original picture, but I wanted to be lazy with Dark Cacao’s outfit and not draw his crown, so it turned into this

I’m realizing I still got bits of Dark Cacao’s hair wrong though. Whatever, it’s been a bit since I properly drew him

Speaking of which, there you go, here’s your actual Cookie Run fanart, the fandom I’m actually mainly in, instead of attempted and mostly failed Evoland 2 fanart (sorry that sounds a bit harsh, and probably unnecessary, I just wanted to be a little petty and put that in)

But yeah, I don’t really have much to say on the art, I just think that this picture was really cute (even if no one seems to have an official source for it)

They’re also holding hands in the original, which made it even more adorable when I realized it
