Pairing: Boyfriend!Heeseung × girlfriend!fem!reader
Synopsis: Another heated argument with you and your boyfriend Heeseung, making it your last straw. You thought it was the end for a while after leaving, until one day..
Genre/warnings: angst to fluff, toxic relationship, a lot of back and forth, idk ok.. | wc: 2k
𝙈𝙖𝙧’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙚: This has been in my drafts for a while so I had to let it out. I’ve been writing SOOO MUCH HEESEUNG FICS ITS CRAZY omg. I promise diff are coming I’m js so brain dead on what to write and I don’t get requests..😁 Jake ff coming out Friday nov15 for his birthday tho!! anyway go enjoy :>
The argument started innocently enough. You were waiting for Heeseung at a party you’d been planning to attend together, but he never showed. You called, texted, and waited for hours, but he never responded. When you finally got home and found him there, acting as if nothing had happened, something inside you snapped.
“What’s wrong with you?” you demanded, slamming the door behind you. “I waited for you all night, Hee! Do you know how embarrassing it was, standing there by myself while everyone kept asking where you were?”
He looked up from his phone, barely acknowledging your presence. “I told you I wasn’t sure if I could make it.”
“You told me you wanted to be there,” you shot back, anger rising in your chest. “But you didn’t even call, Heeseung! You just left me there, like I didn’t matter at all.”
Heeseung rolled his eyes, an exasperated sigh escaping his lips. “Why are you making this such a big deal? It was just one night.”
“Because this isn’t the first time!” Your voice shook as you threw your bag onto the couch, barely able to contain your frustration. “You keep doing this—promising me you’ll show up, then bailing like it’s nothing. Do you even care about this relationship anymore?”
“Here we go again,” he muttered under his breath, but loud enough for you to hear. “You’re always turning everything into a personal attack.”
You clenched your fists, trying to hold back tears of frustration. “Maybe if you actually made an effort, I wouldn’t feel like I have to ‘attack’ you. I’m so tired of being the only one fighting to keep us together.”
Heeseung scoffed, throwing his phone down on the table. “Oh, please. Don’t act like you’re some saint here. You’re always complaining, always finding something wrong with what I do or don’t do. It’s exhausting.”
“Exhausting?” The word stung, and you felt a pang of anger so sharp it made you shake. “So you’re saying I’m exhausting?”
“Yeah, maybe you are,” he snapped, meeting your gaze with a hard look you’d never seen from him before. “Maybe this whole thing is just… too much. You’re always so needy, always wanting more. Maybe I can’t give you what you want.”
Your heart pounded in your chest, the words hitting harder than he knew. “Needy?” you repeated, voice trembling. “I don’t think it’s needy to want the person I love to actually show up for me. But maybe you’re right—maybe I’m asking too much from someone who clearly doesn’t care.”
“Oh, don’t twist this around like I don’t care,” he shot back. “I have my own life, my own problems. Everything doesn’t revolve around you.”
“That’s not fair, and you know it,” you said, trying to keep your voice steady. “You’re the one who’s been pulling away, Heeseung. You’re the one who’s been acting like I’m some burden you have to carry. I’m just asking you to meet me halfway, but you can’t even do that, can you?”
Heeseung’s expression hardened, and for a moment, you saw something cold flicker in his eyes. “Maybe I don’t want to meet you halfway,” he said, each word cutting deeper than the last. “Maybe I’m tired of pretending like this is something it’s not.”
Your breath caught in your throat, your heart sinking as his words settled over you. “So… what, then? You’re tired of me?”
“Maybe I am,” he said, his tone bitter. “Maybe I’m tired of constantly being made to feel like I’m not enough, like no matter what I do, it’s never good enough for you.”
You felt your chest tighten, a tear slipping down your cheek despite your efforts to hold it back. “I just wanted you to try, Heeseung. To actually care enough to make an effort.”
“And I just wanted you to stop making me feel like a failure,” he shot back, his voice raising. “Do you have any idea what it’s like to constantly feel like you’re not measuring up? You keep pushing and pushing, and it’s like nothing I do will ever be enough for you.”
“Then why didn’t you say that?” you yelled, feeling your anger and heartbreak twisting together into something raw and painful. “Why did you let me keep believing that you wanted this, that you wanted us?”
“Because I thought I did,” he said, voice cracking as he looked away. “But lately… I don’t know. Maybe we’ve both just been holding on to something that isn’t there anymore.”
His words shattered something deep inside you, a pain so intense it felt almost physical. You took a shaky breath, struggling to find the right words. “So that’s it?” you whispered. “You’re just… giving up?”
Heeseung’s gaze softened, but he didn’t move toward you. “I’m just… tired of hurting you,” he said quietly. “And tired of feeling like I’m the problem. I can’t keep doing this.”
You looked away, unable to bear the sight of him standing there, so calm, as if he hadn’t just destroyed everything you’d built together. “Fine,” you whispered, barely able to get the words out. “If that’s how you feel… then maybe we shouldn’t keep doing this.”
For a moment, you thought he might say something, that he might reach out, try to fix the damage that had been done. But he didn’t move, didn’t say a word, just watched as you picked up your things and turned toward the door.
“Goodbye, Heeseung,” you said, your voice barely audible as you walked away, each step feeling heavier than the last.
As you closed the door behind you, you realized that you had been holding on to a version of him that no longer existed, a love that had withered in the space between unmet expectations and unspoken resentments. And the realization hurt more than anything he could have said, because now you knew that sometimes love simply isn’t enough.
Weeks had passed since that night, but the pain still sat heavy in your chest, a constant reminder of the words you both threw like daggers. You had told yourself it would get easier—that eventually, you’d stop replaying the fight over and over, picking apart every sentence, wondering if you could have said or done something differently.
But every time you closed your eyes, you could still see him standing there, looking at you with that mixture of anger and something else—something you couldn’t name.
Tonight, you found yourself sitting in a quiet café, stirring a mug of coffee you hadn’t touched. You’d come here hoping the change of scenery would help, but all it did was bring memories crashing back, drowning you in thoughts you had been trying so hard to escape. And then, as if fate had a cruel sense of humor, the doorbell chimed, and there he was.
Heeseung.
He hadn’t seen you yet, and you almost turned away, almost gathered your things to leave before he noticed. But some part of you—maybe it was the part that hadn’t stopped missing him, the part that still ached for him despite everything—stayed rooted in place.
As if sensing your presence, Heeseung looked up, his eyes widening slightly when they met yours. For a moment, neither of you moved, both frozen in the shared silence. Finally, he took a breath and walked over, his steps hesitant, as if he, too, was unsure of how this would go.
“Hey,” he said, his voice softer than you remembered, almost as if he were afraid of breaking something fragile.
“Hi,” you replied, your own voice barely above a whisper.
He sat down across from you, and for a moment, the two of you just sat in silence, both unsure of where to start. The tension was thick, memories of the fight still hanging heavily between you.
“I… I didn’t expect to see you here,” he said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.
“I didn’t expect to see you, either,” you replied, your tone guarded.
Heeseung looked down at the table, then back up at you, his eyes searching yours. “I’ve been thinking about… that night. About the things we both said.”
A lump formed in your throat, and you swallowed hard, nodding slightly. “Me too,” you admitted, voice trembling.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he said, his gaze never leaving yours. “I know that’s probably hard to believe after everything, but… I never wanted things to end up like that.”
“Then why did you let it get to that point?” you whispered, the hurt and confusion you’d been carrying pouring out before you could stop it. “Why didn’t you just talk to me, Heeseung? Why did you make me feel like I was the problem?”
He sighed, looking down at his hands. “Because… because I didn’t know how to tell you that I was struggling. I thought I was supposed to handle everything on my own, and I didn’t want to burden you with my issues. But in trying to protect you, I pushed you away, and that’s on me.”
His admission cracked something open inside you, and you felt a surge of conflicting emotions—relief, sadness, anger. “I would’ve been there for you, Heeseung. All I wanted was to be there for you.”
“I know,” he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. “I realize that now. I just… I guess I was scared. Scared of being vulnerable. Scared of letting you see the parts of me that I’ve always tried to hide.”
You felt a tear slip down your cheek, but you didn’t bother to wipe it away. “You didn’t have to be perfect for me, Heeseung. I never wanted that. I just wanted you.”
He reached out hesitantly, his hand hovering over yours, and for a moment, you thought he might pull back. But then, slowly, he took your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours, warm and familiar.
“I don’t know if I can fix what I broke,” he said quietly, his eyes full of regret. “But… if there’s still a part of you that wants to try, I’d do anything to make it right.”
You looked down at his hand, the memories of all the times you’d held each other, all the promises you’d once shared. Part of you wanted to say yes, to let yourself fall back into the warmth of him, to believe that maybe, just maybe, things could be different this time.
But another part of you remembered the pain—the nights spent wondering if you were enough, the feeling of constantly fighting to hold onto someone who kept slipping away.
“I don’t know if I can trust you again, Heeseung,” you said, voice breaking. “You hurt me so much. I don’t know if I can go through that again.”
His grip on your hand tightened slightly, desperation flashing in his eyes. “I know I messed up, and I know it might take a long time to earn back your trust. But if there’s even the smallest part of you that thinks we could make this work… I promise I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Silence settled between you, thick with emotion, as you weighed his words. You knew that forgiveness wouldn’t come easily, that the scars from that night would always be there, etched into your heart. But looking at him now, at the vulnerability in his eyes, you saw a glimpse of the Heeseung you’d fallen in love with—the one who had once made you feel like you were his whole world.
Taking a shaky breath, you met his gaze. “If we do this… it can’t be like before. We both have to be honest with each other, even when it’s hard. No more hiding, no more pretending.”
He nodded, a look of relief washing over his face. “I promise,” he said, his voice full of conviction. “No more hiding.”
Slowly, cautiously, you let yourself smile, a small glimmer of hope flickering in your chest. It would be a long road, full of challenges and doubts, but for the first time in a long time, you felt like maybe, just maybe, you could find your way back to each other.
And this time, you’d fight for each other—together.

Chapter 12
Y/n sits, bouncing her leg as she waits with the pack at the table for her brother.
“Kitten.” Minho places his hand on her bouncing leg, having chosen to sit next to her to make sure she ate during dinner and whispers. “What’s wrong?”
She looks up at him. “Just a bit anxious.”
“Did you take your meds today?” She nods a yes at his question causing him to sigh. “Everything will be okay, it’s just your brother. He wouldn’t tell the rest of your family about meeting up with you, right?”
“No, he wouldn’t.” She relaxes a little. “He doesn’t talk to them anymore but just makes me wary.”
“Everything will be okay.” The alpha reassures her. “We’re all here with you.”
“Y/n.” A tall beta walks up and her eyes brighten.
“Hyuk.” She stands up to hug him and he holds her tight against him for a moment before she lets go.
“It’s good to see you again.” He looks her over. “You’ve been okay?”
“Perfect.” She smiles before turning towards the table. “Everyone, this is my older brother Minhyuk.” She then starts pointing around the table. “Hyuk, this is our pack alpha Chan, our head alpha Changbin, the second oldest alpha Minho, and our youngest alpha Jeongin. Then our head beta Hyunjin, youngest beta Seungmin, and our two omega like betas Jisung and Felix.”
“It’s nice to meet you Minhyuk.” Chan stands to greet him.
“You too, thank you for taking care of my little sister.” The beta bows his head.
“Of course, after we had found her, all we’ve wanted to do was help.” Felix smiles watching as Y/n takes her seat back next to Minho and her brother takes the seat next to her. “Even before we knew she was our fated mate we knew we’d do anything for her.”
“I appreciate it. Not a lot of people would do that, especially for an omega.” He smiles down at his sister. “I’m just glad she’s finally free now.”
Minhyuk watches as Y/n looks over the menu with Minho. “You’ll like this.” The alpha points to something on the menu. “It’s similar to those noodles I made the other day you liked.”
She nods her head but looking at the picture she worries as it looks like a big serving and she knows she won’t be able to eat all of it.
“Do you wanna share Y/nnie?” Felix noticed her look of uncertainty, as he doesn’t like to eat much so he knew this was the best option for both of them. “It’s a lot of food and I know I won’t eat it all.”
She nods, grateful for his offer before she moves to stand up. “Gotta go to the restroom real quick.”
They all watch her walk away from the table, but Changbin watches until she disappears behind the door having a clear view of the bathrooms from where he sits and continues glancing over waiting for her to come out.
“She’s anxious.” Minhyuk points out after she was gone.
“Has she always dealt with anxiety?” Jisung asks, wanting to find out more about their new mate.
The beta nods sadly. “Yeah, it probably started when she was about eight. Was bullied at school which caused a lot of anxiety and insecurities. Our family didn’t help either.”
“We’re having her see a therapist and psychologist.” Changbin tells him. “They’ve already put her on medication for her anxiety and are thinking about antidepressants too.”
Her brother sighs in relief at this. “That’s good, I’ve been saying she needed help with it for years but our family would blow it off saying she has no reason to be anxious or depressed.”
Seungmin scoffs. “Because they didn’t want to realize they were the cause of it.” He meant for his comment to be more to himself but everyone else heard.
“So she’s told you guys a bit about how our family treated her?”
“Yeah.” Jeongin nods sadly.
“Before she comes back I want to warn you guys about some of her tendencies.” Minhyuk looks around to make sure they’re all listening, which they are. “I don’t know how much you guys have experienced yet but I want to explain in case you have so you can understand why and to warn you of things she tends to do.”
“She doesn’t like to voice her feelings. Will bottle them up instead of talk until she blows and has a breakdown. Our family used to make it seem like her feelings weren’t valid. If you notice she’s bottling stuff up just push her a bit, she’ll give in and talk. And at times she can also go nonverbal. Sometimes it’s just because she’s been very social all day that by the end of it she’s worn out and just doesn’t want to communicate anymore. But other times it can be because she’s in her head about things. It could be because something was said to cause her to overthink or just her brain being cruel to her.”
“I personally think the reason for it is because she would get purposely ignored as a kid if she’s been overly talkative and as punishments. So she feels she just needs to silence herself either to punish herself or because she thinks she’s being too much. Just be patient with her. She’ll still communicate when directly spoken too either through hand motions or by writing or texting someone. She’ll usually pick someone to be the main person to communicate to, have them read what she writes. When it was her friend group she always just picked whoever she felt the closest to that day.”
The younger four just look at Minhyuk, sad to hear that their omega feels she has to do things like that. The older four are pissed that she went through that, all of them wanting to change her mindset from here on out for the better.
Y/n walks back over, noting that Changbin watched her the entire time until she was settled back in her seat between her brother and Minho. She also notices how heavy the air is as they all look at her with different expressions between pity, sadness and protectiveness.
She turns to her brother. “What did you tell them?”
“Nothing they shouldn’t be aware of.”
The omega eyes her older brother before Hyunjin speaks up. “He just wanted to help us understand some stuff, nothing bad, princess.”
“Okay.” She sighs, trusting her brother and her pack.

“Do you want a brownie baby?” Jisung asks, grabbing the container of Felix’s homemade brownies he made the day before.
“You barely even ate your dinner, Ji.” Minho remarks. “And you still need to pack for Jeju island. You don’t get dessert until after that.”
“Hyung.” Jisung pouts as the alpha takes the container from him. “It’s gonna take forever to pack, then it’ll be too late to eat one.”
“Go.” Minho shoos him off before getting two brownies out and giving them to the omegas sitting at the counter.
“Thanks Min.” Felix beams, taking a bite of his.
“Have you already packed, pretty girl?” Changbin leans on the counter next to Y/n.
“Yup, packed everything I thought I’d need.”
“Did you pack your swimsuit?” Felix asks, still chewing his brownie. “We plan to spend a day at the beach.”
She frowns. “I don’t have one.”
“You guys didn’t make sure she bought a swimsuit when you took her shopping?” Changbin looks at Hyunjin and Jeongin.
“We didn’t really think about that.” The youngest alpha shrugs. “We were more just thinking of normal everyday clothes she needed.”
“It’s fine.” Chan steps in reassuring everyone. “We’ll just get her a few at one of the shops on the island.”
“What time are we leaving in the morning?” Hyunjin asks while grabbing a drink from the fridge.
“I want to be out of the house by seven.” Minho finishes cleaning up a few things that were left out in the kitchen.
“That’s so early.” Hyunjin whines, grabbing himself a brownie and looks at Y/n confused as she still hasn’t eaten hers.
She’s playing with the paper towel it’s on as if trying to hide it from the eyes of the others and realized why. He quietly grabs a second brownie without anyone seeing before moving over to her, placing it on her first one, helping her hide it in the paper towel.
“Go.” He whispers in her ear and helps her slide off the chair hiding the brownies.
“I think I’m gonna call it early and head upstairs.” Y/n announces.
“Alright, goodnight baby girl.” Chan moves to her and kisses the top of her head.
Everyone else tells her goodnight as she heads upstairs and Hyunjin takes her seat at the counter to eat his brownie next to Felix who is smirking at him. “What?”
“Nothing.” The younger one shakes his head still smiling having seen the entire interaction between him and the omega.
Y/n walks upstairs going straight for Jisungs door and knocks.
“Yeah?”
She opens the door and peeks her head in “I brought you something.”
He smiles motioning for her to come in and she opens the paper towel handing him the top brownie.
“You are an Angel.” He hugs her before taking a bite of his delicious treat and drags her to sit on the floor with him as he packs his bag and she eats her dessert.
“Do you always procrastinate packing?” She watches him figure out a good way to fit everything in the suitcase.
“Not always.”
“Don’t lie to our girl, Ji.” Minho walks in as neither of them had shut the door. “I thought I told you no dessert until you're finished?” He then he looks at the omega. “And I thought you said you were going to bed?”
Y/n blushes at getting caught sneaking the beta dessert. “I’m sorry, I just knew he was wanting one.”
“Relax baby, he’s not actually mad.” Jisung places a hand on her thigh. “He’s just teasing.”
She looks up at the alpha and sure enough, he isn’t mad. But he is looking at her as if he feels guilty for making her think she was in trouble.
“Oh.” She whispers and looks away now embarrassed.
“I think it was very sweet of you to think of Jisung and bring him up a brownie and to eat with him.” Minho kneels in front of her.
She just nods her head, accepting his words but doesn’t say anything causing him to sigh.
“I came in originally to make sure Ji was finished and to drag him to sleep in my room as he doesn’t wake up on time if he’s alone.” He continues to explain as he watches the beta zip up his bag. “Why don’t you join us?”
“Wha…” Y/n looks at them wide eyed and shocked before she quickly starts shaking her head. “No, no, I-I couldn’t…”
“Kitten.” Minho interrupts her. “Don’t you ever try to finish that sentence. You are a part of this relationship as much as the rest of us. Meaning you’re allowed to sleep in any of our rooms with us. You don’t have to stick strictly to yours.”
“Okay.” She stands up. “Let me go change real quick then.”
“You don’t have to.” Jisung smirks. “It’s an unspoken rule that if you sleep in one of the alphas beds you sleep either naked or in their clothes.”
“Don’t listen to him.” Minho rolls his eyes. “It’s just something the betas do, you don’t have to follow it. We just want you to be comfortable.”
Y/n nods her head, biting her lip as she thinks it over causing Jisung to smirk even wider. “You wanna wear Min’s shirt, don’t you?”
She blushes not looking at either of them and whispers a maybe.
The alpha smiles with pride, gently grabbing her hand. “Come on baby.”
After grabbing Jisungs hand, the alpha takes both of them to his room, then let’s go to look in his closet. He first grabs one of the betas favorite shirts to sleep in, giving it to him to change into. Y/n turns away from Jisung to let him change, she’s sure he’s used to changing in front of Minho and wouldn’t care if she saw but she knew she would jump his bones like she’s been wanting to with all of them if she saw him undress.
“Which one do you want?” Minho brings her out of her thoughts, holding three shirts up in front of him.
She contemplates which one as she feels each, deciding on the softest and baggiest shirt of the three and he gives it to her.
“You can change in the corner Angel, we’ll turn away.” Jisung motions as he climbs into bed now wearing the alpha’s shirt and a pair of sweatpants which she assumes also belongs to Minho. “And you can put your clothes in Min’s hamper to get washed.”
“No peeking.” Y/n gives both of them a side eye before moving to the corner, looking back at them one last time to make sure they were turned away, which Jisung has already gotten comfortable in bed and is watching Minho in the closet who is grabbing his clothes and changing too.
She quickly changes into just Minho’s shirt and her underwear. The shirt falls about mid thigh, covering everything that needs to be. After placing her dirty clothes into the hamper she turns just as the older male is walking over to the bed in just sweatpants. The omega of course can't help but to ogle at his chiseled torso.
“You’re staring, kitten.” But to be fair, so is he, loving how his girl looks in just his shirt.
She looks up at his face blushing. “Umm… C-can I ask about the…”
“The scar?” The alpha traces the silver line. “It’s from a medical surgery when I was a baby. It grew as I did. Nothing to worry about now.”
“Are you two just going to eye fuck each other or are you going to finally come to bed?” Jisung whines, causing the two to laugh.
Minho slides in next to his beta and lifts the covers for Y/n to slide in too so that he has both of them curled up on either side of him. She watches Jisung lay his head on their alpha’s chest making her want to as well but is unsure about pushing any boundaries. Before she can chicken out though she’s getting pulled into his side by his strong arm so she’s resting her head on the other side of his chest from Jisung.
“You never have to worry about cuddling, kitten.”
Jisung looks at her, booping her nose. “Some of them, Min included, might not seem like the type to want to cuddle or have physical affection, but I promise you none of us will ever push you away if you initiate it.”
“Okay, thank you.”
“Go to sleep you two, we have an early morning.” Minho kisses both of their heads.
“Night hyung, night angel.”
“Night, Jisungie, night Min.”
“Goodnight, babies.”

Summary: When you appeared and wept at his mother's funeral, Hongjoong found himself wanting to find out more about you. A regular girl, who owns a flower shop in his territory and has a relationship with the mother that he hasn't spoken to in years, why hasn't he ever noticed you before?
[Warning(s): 18+ for violence, use of weapons, smoking, alcohol consumption, slight gore, gang affiliation, tattoos and character deaths. Minors DNI. This is a work of fiction and does not represent the Ateez members in real life.]

Hongjoong's fingertipes tapped against the wooden surface of his desk. He was dressed in a plain white t shirt and dress pants, his white dress shirt discarded on the ground by his office door and his jacket on the couch.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"Come in." Hongjoong sighed, looking up from the computer screen. Wooyoung came in, stepping around the bloodied dress shirt that was strewn on the ground.
"The tailor is coming in an hour to do the first round of adjustments for our suits." Wooyoung informed.
"Alright, thanks. I should go get cleaned up then." Hongjoong stood up.
"Did you get anything good from the guy?" Wooyoung asked as Hongjoong gathered his things. He had just tortured a guy for information. Hence, the bloodied dress shirt.
"Nothing we didn't already know. I swear it's like we're missing something. No one can give me what I want." Hongjoong growled.
"Everyone's tight lipped, hyung. Plus, it could be anyone aiming to take us down." Wooyoung shrugged.
"And don't worry, we've got more surveillance up. Someone is bound to slip up and when they do, we'll be there to deal with them." The younger added. Hongjoong nodded his head, threats to Ateez were never taken lightly. His attack happened a week ago but the jab to his reputation felt like a fresh wound.
"You know what you need, hyung? A night at the fight club." San, having overheard the conversation, poked his head through the open door of Hongjoong's office.
"I'm too busy to have a fight now." Hongjoong chuckled as he picked up his jacket and bloodied dress shirt.
"Let off some steam. Fine, if you don't want to fight, go race." San grinned.
"San's right. It's been a while since you've raced, hyung." Wooyoung giggled. Hongjoong shrugged in response but was actually considering it. He used to race all the time with Seonghwa.
"Okay, you two. Let me shower before the tailor comes." Hongjoong playfully shoved them aside before going to his bedroom.
"Hmm..." Closing one eye, Mingi raised the gun in his hand and steadily pressed the trigger.
"Woah." Yeosang used his hand to shield the sun over his eyes as he squinted at the target to see where Mingi's bullet had landed. Mingi did the same, finding the bullet hole on the target.
"I hate these new stabilisers. I'm switching back to my old brands." Mingi cursed, dismantling the gun at the table and switching out the new stabiliser with the old ones. Taking his arm, he did the same as before and shot the target.
"This new stabiliser is supposed to help heavier guns with the recoil. If it doesn't work then we'll switch back." Seonghwa noted.
"You try, hyung." Mingi stepped aside for Seonghwa to try it.
"It adds too much weight to the gun, it's uneven." Seonghwa said, holding his gun in his hand after switching to the new stabiliser. Mingi nodded in agreement.
"Add that for those who use silencers. It's gonna throw the entire aim of the gun off." Mingi replied.
"That's why I prefer to use these. No need for any added equipment or upgrades." Yeosang held his fists up with a grin.
"Yeah, no thanks." Seonghwa shook his head with a chuckle, taking a sip of his rum. He placed the crystal glass down and took aim, shooting the target in a distance.
"I see what you mean..." The older turned to Mingi, who hummed and drank his beer.
"Mr Park, Mr Kang and Mr Song, I've been told to inform you that the tailor is coming soon to make adjustments for your suits for the upcoming gala." The butler came out into the backyard where they were practicing. The three nodded and waved the butler off, he bowed and left them alone.
"I completely forgot about the gala to be honest, even if we have been involved in the planning of it all." Yeosang admitted honestly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well, we've all been busier than usual. And with Hongjoong's mother's passing, it's been different." Seonghwa said.
"Hmm, whether he admits it or not, Hongjoong hyung is still recovering." Mingi added.
"He is. He's just too stubborn to admit it. But he still knows his priorities so let's put our focus on the gala." Seonghwa told the two, who nodded obediently.
"Where's Yunho and Jongho?" When the 3 entered, Hongjoong descended down the stairs, seeing the two missing.
"Probably gaming." Wooyoung snickered.
"We were not gaming. We were busy making sure the new surveillance system is up and running. You were the one gaming with San." Jongho said, walking through the front door with Yunho.
"Damn, how did you know?" San winced.
"Did you think we would not have full surveillance of our own computer lab?" Yunho scoffed, sitting on the couch. As the boys sat together in the living room with drinks and snacks, they chatted and waited for the tailor to come.
"What's the theme we're going with for the gala?" Jongho asked. Everyone turned to Hongjoong since he was always the one in charge of deciding the theme.
"It's a surprise." Hongjoong smirked from his armchair, sipping the whiskey he had.
"Good afternoon, sirs." The tailor came in with his assistant, each of them wheeling in a rack of clothing.
"You can set up here." Seonghwa said.
"Thank you." The tailor bowed and the two left the racks, going back out to get their remaining supplies from their vehicle. Yeosang tried to peek under the black cloth that covered the racks.
"I'll be placing the mirror here." The tailor set the full length mirror by the glass doors so the natural sunlight would come in.
"As always, Mr Kim chose a very nice design for all of you." The tailor complimented.
"Show us already!" Mingi said impatiently. This was their regular tailor for such events so he was used to the boys, their behaviours, mannerisms and what they did for work. The tailor chuckled and pulled the cloth off the racks to reveal the 8 outfits that were hanging off the hangers.
"Oooh." The 7 boys were in awe. Hongjoong stood up, going for a closer look. He nodded in satisfaction. Each boy had a uniquely designed outfit but there was always a similar theme.
"Nice choice. I don't think we've done dark purple before." Seonghwa ran his fingers against the material.
"Dark purple velvet." Hongjoong corrected.
"A purple this dark can go with either gold or white gold. Very nice." Wooyoung whistled. Hongjoong nodded, that was the intention of the design.
"Yes! I got a cape!" San fist pumped at his dark purple velvet piece. Yeosang's was a double breasted jacket with a peaked lapel.
"Ooh, mine is a coat." Yunho held up the hanger with his name tagged, looking at the piece.
"This is yours." Hongjoong handed the hanger to his best friend. It was a three piece velvet suit; a waistcoat, a jacket and the same pants as everyone. Jongho's jacket had a shawl neckline so the collar of his white shirt could have overhang to create a contrast of colour.
"This is Mr Song's." The tailor gave Mingi his purple velvet coat. But unlike Yunho's, Mingi's was different in that there were no buttons, it had a shawl neckline.
"And you requested to wear your new bolo tie so I got you a fitting shirt instead of your usual flowy one." Hongjoong sighed.
"Oh yes, I forgot about that." Wooyoung chuckled. His suit was jacket was more form fitting with a notched lapel.
"Okay, we'll have you all change to make adjustments. For those that do not have a white shirt on your hanger, means you are meant to be without one." The tailor said.
Hongjoong's was a regular jacket with a peaked lapel, pants and a white shirt but his tie was made of the same purple velvet material.
"Oh yeah, this is your bow tie, Yeosang ah." Hongjoong handed the bow tie to the male when he stepped out.
"Are you sure I should wear this without a shirt on the inside?" Seonghwa raised an eyebrow as he walked down the stairs. Hongjoong nodded in confirmation, Seonghwa always looked good in the suits that he designed. He had an eye for design, knowing what points to highlight on each person.
"Mr Park." The tailor gestured to the mirro. Seonghwa stepped up and the tailor stood behind him with his assistant. Hongjoong stood by to observe.
"It's a bit loose around the waist. We'll gather it in more." The tailor said and his assistant took down the notes.
"Mingi ah, what accessories are you getting for us?" Hongjoong asked the taller male.
"I think, after looking at everyone, white gold would be nicer. There's more elegance to it. I'm afraid yellow gold stands out too much and not in a good way." Mingi replied.
"Sure. I'll leave it to you." The older said. Mingi saluted in reply.
"I chose for you two to have longer coats since you're both tall. It compliments your height well." Hongjoong informed.
"Thanks, hyung. You always know what looks good on us." Yunho grinned. One by one, the boys stepped up to the mirror for the tailor and Hongjoong to make adjustments. Hongjoong went last while the others changed out of their outfits.
"Bring in the shoulders a little. It's not sitting right." The captain told the tailor, who nodded. Once he was done, the tailor gathered all the suit pieces from each of them.
"Good job. Can't wait to see the final pieces." Hongjoong said.
"You won't be disappointed, Mr Kim. Have a nice day." With a bow, the tailor left with his assistant in tow.
"Oh! I have to go for a meeting! Send me a list of all the accessories that I'll need to get for the gala." Mingi said to everyone before running out of the house.
"I need a nap." Jongho stood up and excused himself too. Hongjoong went to get a refill of his drink.
"How are the logistics coming, Yunho?" He asked.
"It's going better than before. I've put together everything, according to suggestions that were made during our last meeting. The venue will be 90% done the night. The other 10% is stuff that is best prepared day of." Yunho replied. Seonghwa nodded with a small hum to show his approval.
"Wooyoung and I have been working on invites. The important ones, at least." Seonghwa informed.
"Good." Hongjoong nodded.
"Also, Seonghwa hyung, Mingi and I were testing the new stabilisers earlier. They're not good. Especially for those that are going to use heavier guns." Yeosang updated.
"Then stick to whatever is better and more comfortable for all of you." Hongjoong said.
"I think we should drop this guy as a supplier, he hasn't been bringing in good stuff for us." Yeosang suggested.
"Get our money back first. Then you can do whatever you want." Seonghwa replied and Yeosang nodded.
"Alright, I'm going to get ready for my fight tonight. Sure you don't want to join, hyung?" San grinned. Hearing that, Seonghwa raised an eyebrow at his best friend while Hongjoong cursed.
"Don't give me that look, Seonghwa. And I already told you I'm not fighting, San. I have no temptation to enter the ring. If I'm there, it's only to watch your fight." Hongjoong scoffed, hoping Seonghwa wouldn't nag him about his recovery.
"If there's a slot, I'll fight." Yeosang raised his hand.
"Great. There's always slots." San took his phone out and sent a text to the fight manager at his club.
"We should all go watch tonight." Wooyoung said. Hongjoong had too much work to do to watch the fight. Yeosang and San always won their fights anyway.
"Why don't you guys come celebrate at my club tonight? After the fight." Hongjoong suggested.
"Yay! Free drinks at Hongjoong hyung's." The boys cheered.
"You guys can pay for your own drinks! You'll have winning money to use, no need for free drinks." Hongjoong hissed, making all of them laugh and ignore him.
"In the mean time, back to work." Seonghwa got up and headed to his office. San and Yeosang went to get ready for their fight.
"Game time." Yunho and Wooyoung fist pumped, slinging their arms around each other and going to the computer room to game. Hongjoong chuckled with a shake of his head, the boys were always so chaotic wherever they were. They could talk about serious work one second then change to nonsensical talk.
After you closed your shop, you went home to shower and change. You were not sure what to wear since you weren't exactly active in the clubbing scene.
"It's just drinks." You reminded yourself, digging through your closet to find something appropriate to wear.
"Ah ha!" You took out a dark red body con dress with a small slit on the thigh.
"(y/n)!" Your friends waved to you as you arrived outside the club. Besides Jihoon, there was Nana, who owned a petcare center, Eve, who owned a bakery, and Hyunwoo, who owned a gym.
"Your dress is so cute." Eve complimented.
"I had to dig it out of the depths of my cupboard. I don't go to these places often." You chuckled.
"Because you always bail on us." Hyunwoo pointed out, making you glare at him while the others burst out laughing. You assumed Jihoon made a reservation of some sort because you didn't need to queue.
"Thank god we didn't need to queue. Or else I would have gone home." Nana groaned as she walked beside you. The club was crowded, it seemed like a popular place to be. And judging by the long queue outside, you figured it was always packed.
"This is our table." Jihoon gestured and you all sat down. You didn't realise that Hyunwoo had disappeared.
"First round!" Hyunwoo announced, placing the tray of shots on the table.
"We just sat down and you wanna do shots already?! You're crazy." Nana yelled over the loud music. Jihoon shook his head while Hyunwoo grinned.
"Come on~ You guys can order different stuff after this. It's a welcome drink." He gave out the shot glasses.
"Ah... You're spilling." You clicked your tongue, taking a napkin to wipe the table.
"Cheers!" All 5 of you clinked shot glasses and downed the shot, wincing at how strong the alcohol was. You were not adverse to alcohol but even this was too strong for you to handle.
"Rum and coke?" Eve turned to me after taking Nana's order. You nodded, coughing from the burn in your throat.
"I'll go help her carry everything. And I'm getting a beer." Jihoon went to the bar to find Eve. They came back with the drinks and you received your rum and coke. It was a lot better in taste than whatever Hyunwoo had offered all of you earlier. All of you owned shops along the same row so there was always things to talk about.
"I've recently added a lot of new classes at the gym, you guys should come check it out. Free trial classes." Hyunwoo said, leaning against the back of the couch.
"I think working at the bakery is enough of a workout for me. Plus I have been busy training the two new bakers." Eve groaned.
"This is why I work with animals." Nana grinned.
"But you still have to deal with owners..." Jihoon pointed out with a raised eyebrow.
"Walk ins are still slow but thankfully, I've been getting more online orders. Maybe I should consider getting an assistant soon to help me with arrangements for events." You thought out loud.
"Yeah, you should! You're always staying so late to finish up your orders." Hyunwoo revealed. All your friends turned to you.
"Quiet, you..." You scolded Hyunwoo for exposing you. Jihoon reached over to flick your forehead.
At some point in the night, your friends momentarily scattered around the club. The dance floor looked too daunting and sweaty for you to join so you stayed away. Looking at the bar, you saw people chatting like they're long time friends.
'Going to the bathroom! Be right back. - (y/n)'
You sent a text to your friends and left the table, making sure to put the 'reserved' sign right at the front so no one would take your table, then headed to the restroom.
"Is this the line for the bathroom?" You tapped a girl's shoulder. She turned around and nodded her head with a hum.
"Thanks." You shot her a grateful smile. The queue was moving but it was long so you were stuck there for a while with your full bladder.
"Oh! (y/n) sshi?" Someone called, making you look up from your phone, not expecting a taller person before you. You squinted your eyes a little, trying to remember his name.
"Y-Yunho sshi?" You tried. He nodded his head with a smile.
"Mhmm! Fancy seeing you here." He chuckled. You could feel the attention fo the other girls on you.
"The queue is so long... Come with me." He nodded his head in another direction. You tilted your head in confusion but you wanted to escape all the attention that was on you now. The girls were definitely eavesdropping, seeing someone as handsome as Yunho, talk to someone like you.
"Yunho sshi, where are we going?" You asked, following him. You watched as two men stepped aside, revealing a staircase up to a private area.
"Here. Use the private bathroom down the hall. It's cleaner too." He pointed to the door.
"That's very kind of you but are you sure we can do this? It seems private or like a VIP area..." You looked around with uncertainty.
"You're funny, (y/n) sshi. Don't worry about it, we're not trespassing. Just go then you can return to your friends." Yunho smiled, gently pushing you in the direction of the bathroom.
"Bye~" He waved and headed to another door along the hallway.
"Thank you." You bowed to him and went to the bathroom. He was right, it was a private bathroom and it was very clean.
When you were done with your business, you washed your hands and exited the bathroom. You headed down the stairs, past the two guards that were blocking the way and went back to the booth to find your friends.
"You said you were in the bathroom! We went and you were not there!" Nana held your arm worriedly.
"Ah... Sorry, I bumped into someone I knew and got sidetracked." You rubbed the back of your neck. Hyunwoo and Eve were still mingling while Jihoon returned from the bar with another beer.
"Want some?" He offered.
"No, thank you. Beer makes me sleepy and I can't be falling asleep here." You chuckled.
"You know we wouldn't let anything happen to you, right? If you fall asleep, Hyunwoo and I will just take you back to your house." Jihoon said with a serious tone.
"I know. Thank you." You giggled. You stood up and exited the booth, wanting to go get another drink.
"Want me to come with you?" Jihoon offered.
"No need. It's just there. I'll be right back." You shook your head and went to the bar to order another drink. Of course, you got another rum and coke with lime. With more space at the bar now, you lingered there for a bit longer until you realised your friends might be looking for you.
"Hey." A hand touched your shoulder and you assumed it was Jihoon coming to find you.
"I just wanted to have a drink at the bar. I was going to return to the table." You laughed as you turned around.

Nerves
From @jintaka-hane: Smoker/F!Reader fic, with marine doctor reader and Smoker being shy around her Tags/Warnings: Smoker/F!Reader, Doctor!Reader, sick!Smoker, vice admiral Smoker, fluff, pre-relationship Word Count: 996
Regardless of what many members of the public, and even members of his own unit believed about him, Smoker was not a man that stopped or lingered to pursue women. It just wasn’t in his nature. He didn’t have the time, nor the emotional bandwidth for it - he had duties to attend to and they mattered far more than whatever woman was throwing herself at him this time. That, and he was harbouring much deeper feelings for someone that he couldn’t bear to look another woman’s way.
It was utterly humiliating, the way that you made him feel.
Whenever he had to see you, and at this point he only ever visited you when absolutely necessary, he felt like a teenager all over again. You were the primary doctor on his ship when they sailed, and tended to his men on base too, which meant you were always around somewhere even if he wasn’t standing there beside you. He was very aware of that fact, that he could be doing anything and you could just round the corner and then you’d be able to see him. Most viewed him as stoic, serious, a man to not be trifled with - he’d defeated the Warlord Sir Crocodile after all - but he couldn’t be any of those things around you. It all melted away to reveal the little boy beneath that, that wanted to give you flowers and gentle kisses. He didn’t have time for women, but he had all the time in the world for you.
Recently, he’d been coming down with a little cold. It was truly nothing, just that being stationed on a winter island for several weeks had fucked with his immune system and now he was a little stuffed up. But his stuffed nose became a head cold, became almost flu-like. He didn’t often get sick, and so this was bothering him more than it might bother the average person. The coughing in particular was starting to truly get on his nerves - he couldn’t stop. He’d not done anything concerning like cough up blood, but Tashigi was beyond done with his complaining. “Sir! Go to the doctor if it’s bothering you so much.”
“It’s fine, it’ll clear up.” “Go to the doctor, or I’ll bring her to you.” Tashigi replied with a raised brow. She’d grown a lot in the last few years, but a consequence of that was she was now far more comfortable talking to him, and being disrespectful. She was a good friend. Her bringing you to him was more daunting than someone might expect - you were forgiving and gentle with everyone who came to visit, but if someone avoids seeing you and gets worse? Well, that’s when you became scary.
Before the end of the day, Smoker was shuffling toward your office, preferring to talk to you directly rather than heading to the med bay to see one of the nurses. He knocked softly on the door, listening out for your ‘come in’ before he opened the door. He found you behind your desk, pouring over some paperwork with a pen in hand that you softly tapped against the wood surface while you thought.
“Vice Admiral, how can I help you?” You asked without looking up, which surprised Smoker. You knew who it was even without looking - he wasn’t sure whether to be flattered or concerned.
“Doctor. I uhm, I’ve just had a small bout of sickness. Tashigi, she uh, told me to come down and see you. She’s tired of me uh coughing.”
“Tired of you complaining, you mean?” You replied, finally looking up at him with a small smirk and a mischievous glint in your eyes. That didn’t look good.
“I don’t.. I don’t know what you mean.” Smoker felt as heat rose in his face, colouring his cheeks with a soft pink, quickly withering under your intense gaze. There was a long moment between you where neither of you said anything, and then Smoker sat himself on the examination table unprompted, choosing not to fight that battle.
The examination passed mostly in silence, with you doing all the checks and tests that you needed to do, and asking questions when you needed to, but otherwise he just let you work. Also, Smoker wasn’t sure that it would come out coherent if he did try to speak, considering how close you were to his body. Too close, almost. He could feel the heat coming from your body when you leaned in, checking his temperature and looking in his ears for signs of concerning infection.
“Well, it looks like you’re right, it is just an unfortunately stubborn cold. But, it didn’t hurt to check, that’s what I’m here for.” You told him, pulling off your rubber gloves and tossing them into the bin beside your desk. Smoker nodded and slipped from the examination table, now unsure of what to say next. You really did just take all his coherent thought away.
“Thanks.” He managed eventually, but he didn’t sound so sure about it.
Another extended, awkward pause followed where you scribbled away in his medical file to make note of the appointment and what you’d found. Smoker stood, staring at you, wanting to talk to you but not knowing how or what to say. If he were a better man he’d ask-
“Do you want to go out with me?” You asked, taking the words right from him as if you could read his mind.
“What?”
“Next time we dock. I’m sure we can find a restaurant to eat at. If you’re interested, that is.” He was utterly dumfounded. First of all, you were interested? Second of all, asking you out was his job!
“Yeah. I.. yeah. Sounds good.” He agreed rather than questioning you or complaining. A date with you sounded more than good really, it sounded perfect. Plus, if he were to be realistic with himself, he never would’ve asked you first, he was far too nervous.

You really didn’t mean to stay this many days at the burrow. But you surprisingly didn’t miss your bed all that much. And you were having fun.
Angelina had gone home before lunch, Lee was staying for one more day, and Harry was staying for the rest of break as per usual.
You felt bad for him.
You had shared the same loss, but you felt worse for Harry than anyone else. He was the one to see Cedric die. Then he had to go and battle a dark wizard, and bring the corpse back with him.
Remembering that he was younger than you made it worse, dealing with all that at fourteen obviously is going to take awhile to recover from.
It seemed that the both of you tried not to dwell too much on it, not wanting to think about it, and using this time at the Weasleys as a way to distract your thoughts from that event.
Harry didn’t want to remind you of what happened and you didn’t want to remind Harry of what happened. You still asked how one another were doing and responded to each other in small group conversations at the table. But really no more than that.
Anyways, you’re trying not to dwell on it. This a vacation, you should be happy.
You did your best to act normal around Fred, trying to act as if you haven’t cried in his arms twice, and slept in his bed twice, sharing the bed one of those times.
The hardest thing to ignore was that feeling in your stomach any time he was near to you.
You're not sure when it started, nor how long you’ve been ignoring it. Maybe months? That’s quite terrifying, you won’t think about it too much.
The day was simple. You ate breakfast, watched both of the twins along with Lee and Harry play Quidditch, the twins already using the beaters bats you got them. Lee offered to switch places with you, seeing if you’d like to play a round with everyone. You refused, terrified you wouldn’t be able to dodge a ball in time or fall off your broom and end up with a broken arm.
You all went inside eventually, talked, watched TV, ate lunch, talked some more, watched TV some more, watched everyone play Quidditch some more, ate dinner, talked more.
Nothing very exciting happened most of the day, except when Lee was able to hit George right in the nose with a scone from the other side of the table.
Also, you were actually able to make conversation with the twins without getting annoyed every other minute. That was new.
Other than that, nothing super important happened for most of the day.
Once you went upstairs to change, you realized that you underestimated how many days you’d stay when you packed your bag.
You were out of fresh pajama shirts, you weren’t in the mood to wear the same shirt you’ve chosen to sleep in the past two nights.
It wasn’t ideal, but you just decided to keep on the shirt you had on all day and sleep in that, changing into a new pair of pajama pants.
Leaving the room and passing the twins room, you noticed a light on and the door was cracked open, it’s usually shut.
Peaking your head in carefully, you saw Fred standing and hunched over on his desk, focused as he wrote something on a piece of paper. Probably a new idea.
Pushing the door open a bit more, it squeaked and you cringed at the sound. Fred’s head slowly looked to where you were. He smiled.
“Will you be joining me in my bed again tonight?” He teased, a sarcastic suggestive tone in this voice.
“You got lucky last night, don’t push it Weasley.” You stepped fully into the room, crossing your arms. Fred noticed and looked down at your shirt, his eyebrows creasing inwards for a moment.
“Is that the same shirt you’ve worn today?”
“Oh, yeah. I ran out of sleep shirts. This will do for now.” You shrugged, moving a hand to play with the hem of your shirt.
Fred didn’t say anything, he went over to his dresser and opened the top drawer, the wrong drawer. You got a glimpse of his boxers and immediately looked away. He slammed in shut with panic in his eyes, then clearing his throat as he opened the one underneath.
He pulled out an old shirt, it had a faded logo of some band he liked when he was prepubescent.
“Here, you can use this for the night.” He held out the shirt for you, you took it with a hesitant hand.
Looking down at it and rubbing the finger over the fabric, you bit your cheek. Feeling guilty all of sudden, about so much.
“Fred, why are you being so nice to me?” The words tumbled quickly out of your mouth, sounding painful.
“What?”
“I’ve been so horrible to you, all these years I've been so bitter and mean. Yet, you just let me in. You never held an actual grudge against me. I don’t get it.” You looked up at him, laying the folded shirt on the dresser next to you.
“Y/N, I don’t understand what you’re saying.” He stepped closer to you. He was so close. So close.
“Why can't you just be mad at me? Why can't you hate me the way I’ve hated you.” You whined, shoving him slightly, praying you would finally scare him away, make him despise you.
Fred held your arms once you tried to push him away again, rubbing your thumbs over your wrists, and weakly saying your name.
“I could never hate you.” Fred spoke softly, you let out a breath of frustration and dropped your hands from his light grasp, wishing he would just tell the truth. He already was.
“I don’t know why. Maybe it’s ‘cause I understood, I am annoying and I am a bit of an arsehole sometimes with my pranks.” He chuckled and you let out a breathy laugh.
“I just don’t know Y/N, I just can’t hate you.”
“Godric, why are you doing this to me Fred?” You groaned, dropping your head to his chest, leaning against him.
“I don’t know. I can’t help it.” Fred shook his head as he gently placed his hands on the sides of your face, holding it up to his gaze. You clenched your teeth together.
Can't help what? Can’t help what, Fred? You wanted to push so bad, but you couldn’t bring yourself to. Scared to know his response.
His eyes were glazed over, and he took in a shaky breath. You stared at his soft lips, the sides of lips curled down.
He looked so fucking beautiful. You hated him for it.
And you didn't know why you did it. All you knew was that in that moment, while staring into his infuriating eyes and glancing down at his lips that were curled into a frown, you wanted to kiss him.
Air rushed out of his lungs as you did. It was strange, you expected anger, definitely regret, but all you felt was satisfaction.
Fred took a second before he pushed back into the kiss, his hands still cupping your face. Yours ran through his hair.
That yearning, the strange feeling of waiting you both held in your bodies for so long finally felt relieved as your lips opened and closed around each other.
You’d slept in his bed last night, now you were practically making out with him. What the hell were you doing?
Fred was the first to pull away, his chest heaving and swollen lips. Fred didn’t look regret-filled either but he also didn’t look ecstatic or happy.
He looked…unsure, which was exactly how you felt.
His eyes darted all along your face, taking in your features, analyzing them, trying to figure out what your puzzling expression was.
Though you knew what you wanted to do, you wanted to kiss him again. You leaned in then stopped yourself, pushing yourself completely away from him.
“Oh no. No, no, no.” You mumbled repeatedly to yourself, stress taking over your face as you pressed the balls of your palms against your eyes. “What am I doing?”
Fred whispered your name, disappointed at your sudden denial. You stared at him with puffy eyes, the lamp showed the shine of a tear that fell down his face. The guilt was eating at you now.
“Fred…we can’t. I can’t….I just. Fuck.” You rubbed your hands down your face, nearly running out the room and down the steps. Fred followed suit but stopped at the doorway of his room. Watching you dart away once again, you didn’t stop moving until you were outside.
Fred stepped back and rubbed a hand against his cheek, then using two fingers to wipe his watering eyes.
You sat on the wooden bench outside, your back against the table connected to it. Hunched over with your head in your hands.
With no idea of what you were doing, what you just did, and why you ran out on Fred, you moved your hands from your head to your face.
You were a complete idiot. A complete and utter asshole for what you were doing. You’ve begun to mess with Fred’s head as much as he’s been messing with yours.
You wouldn’t blame him if he held a forever grudge against you for this, you’d understand if he began to resent you.
The door leading into the kitchen creaked open. You brought your head up slowly, even though you really didn’t want to. Knowing who it would be.
“Hey.” Fred had his hands tucked into his pockets, a painfully awkward look on his face. He couldn’t meet your eyes. “You okay?”
“I don’t think I deserve to be asked that.” You let out a breathy laugh. Fred puffed out his bottom lip and shrugged. Moving to sit down next to you on the bench.
The two of you sat in silence, you sat up fully, resting your hand in your lap and fiddling your fingers.
“I didn’t mean to run away like that. I just wasn’t sure what to do.”
“I get it, there was a lot happening in one moment.” Fred lied, he honestly didn’t get it. He wondered why you couldn’t just come to your senses with your feelings.
“It was rude of me though. I’m just not sure about anything really.” You sighed.
Fred rested his hand over yours in a sympathetic way.
“How about we just stay here, as friends? It’d be really nice to call you my friend after all these years.” He chuckled. “I’m just glad we’re not at each other's throats anymore.”
“Yeah. Yeah we can be friends.” You nodded slightly, voice hoarse when the words came out.
“Okay.” A weak grin took over his face.
“Okay.”
It’s hard to stay as friends when you’ve already kissed him.

Chef! Ghost Headcanons
SFW & NSFW

SFW
Chef!Ghost who works in a 3 star Michelin Star restaurant and co-owns it
Chef!Ghost was just like Carmen Berzatto from The Bear. Watching YouTube videos on cooking perfect meals and being so precise and accurate with his cooking
Chef!Ghost who gets a bit attached and attracted to one of the waitresses
Chef!Ghost who yells at everyone else including his cooks but is extremely nice to his favorite waitress
"I NEED HANDS! WHERE ARE MY WAITERS!!?" He yells from the kitchen. Some of the customers all looked at the kitchen hearing him yell, waiters and waitresses excuse their selves to head to the back.
"Sorry, had a table that wouldn't let me leave, I was on my way, I promise," she says, coming into the back where he just apologized to her for being loud and rude.
"Yeah, same here," a waiter comes in.
"I EXPECT MORE FROM YOU, YOU'VE BEEN HERE FOR A YEAR AND STILL CAN'T GET A SIMPLE TICKET ORDER RIGHT!!" He yells.
"SHE'S BEEN HERE LONGER THAN ME!" Pointing to Y/n. She just shrugs and heads out.
Chef!Ghost who starts on desserts a bit early, but really he was making it for his favorite waitress.
"I'm looking for my order for table 5?" She comes in asking. "It's been close to 30 minutes," she says. "I thought the ticket times were good?"
"Ask him," Soap points to Simon over his shoulder, who was leaned over the dessert, he noticed Y/n and brought it over to her.
"Sorry for the slow time," he says. He grabs a to-go box and placed it inside and hands it to her. "For your lunch break." He says.
"Thank you...I still need that chicken alfredo for my table."
"It's coming," he says waiting for her to leave. "HEY I NEED THAT FUCKING CHICKEN ALFREDO, WHERE THE HELL IS IT!!?" He yells like his normal self.
Chef!Ghost who liked closing nights, cause sometimes Y/n has to close, Y/n always picked up night shifts cause she liked them, it was surprisingly slow at nights versus the morning or afternoon.
She wipes the tables down and moves the chairs to be on top of the tables, refilling the salt and pepper shakes as she cleans around. She rolls some silverware for the morning people.
"Your here late." Ghost says coming into the main dinning hall.
"I'm just cleaning up."
"Where's Henry?"
"He left early, so it's just me," she says.
"Did you...eat the dessert?"
"I didn't have time to, I didn't even get a break because I was running around doing things, and couldn't get a break," she says.
"Well, it looks like you're done now...want to...eat it?" He asks.
"Now?" She giggles at him.
"Why not? We can clean where we ate."
NSFW
Chef!Ghost who clears off a space in the kitchen, to place Y/n on top of. Spreading her legs, kissing her lips and moving down to her inner thighs. The plus about working here is that waitress were in skirts, honestly easy accuses
Chef!Ghost who now wants to close almost everyday just to be able to have you when no one is around
Chef!Ghost who has pulled Y/n into the walk-in for a quicky, locking it behind them and yelling at anyone who knocks to bother them
Chef!Ghost who likes to wait at the back door for you when you're done with your shift just to take you to the car and have his way with you in his car
Chef!Ghost who makes your favorite lunch and you two eat in the office with the door closed and Simon likes to have his dessert on his desk, her legs spread and seeing his favorite cream on the desk
Chef!Ghost who's birthday was coming up soon, the kitchen was already prepare for the Chef's birthday, but Y/n had came to his home for his early birthday gift
"Hi, my love," he says.
"Happy Birthday." After that small interaction, Y/n was in control with what happened next, her being on top of him with whipped cream on her chest with it slightly falling with the slight bounce. Simon was just a happy chef.
Chef!Ghost who loves your boobs and he makes subtle hints about it. Making desserts and putting cherries on them. When you two are alone he likes to tease you by moving the neck of your shirt to look down.

"I want to see them," he teases.

Never raising his voice at you for any reason
Chef!Ghost when it's Halloween he gets a sneak peak of your custom before going into work
"I like it...the top though?"
"What's wrong with it?"
"It's a little low. Only I...can see these beauty's," he says making his way to your chest cupping your boobs and kissing between them

mundane things he does for you
₊˚ ᗢ itoshi rin x gn! reader.
⤷ slice of life moments with rin.
if there is one thing rin loves (other than soccer), it would be you. to him, you were like a warm bowl of ochazuke. seeing you smile everyday has steam coming out from his ears. his palms would get a little clammy if you ask him to hold hands. you give him so much love and support that he feels like a fish out of water.
so when it comes to showing affection, aside from soft pecks on the lips and forehead, there are a few things he does to express his love.
on days where you feel too exhausted to move a muscle, he’ll take time out of his routine to clean up the room for you. starting from the backpack you left on the ground, he’d hang it up alongside your other bags, making sure to remind you to take your things out if you decide to switch.
when the posters on your wall start to droop or the masking tape peels, he’ll tape them back up. he’ll lovingly press his fingers tightly against the prints to make sure they sit flush against the wall. at the end he’ll stand and take the scene in slowly (feeling a little proud that he was able to tidy up your room to your liking)
as much as you think he’d hate doing laundry, he finds the task to be relaxing. his favorite thing to do is sort through your clothes and fold them neatly. he only likes this specific part of laundry because he gets to see all the matching clothes you have with him (especially that owl sweater he got you for christmas).
while he might not be the best cook in the world (the one thing he can make is ochazuke, but he understands if you don’t want to eat it right now), he can arrange snacks neatly on the table for you or walk to the local convenience store to buy your favorites. he would stick to foods he knows you’d like for sure. he’s not a very adventurous guy and likes to play it safe.
whenever he passes by a gift shop, he’ll always go inside to see if there is anything you might like (this is where he’s a little more adventurous with his choices). if you adore the smiski series, he’ll make it a habit to buy a couple and bring them home with you. his curiously eats away at him so he hopes you’ll open them quickly so he knows what you get.
trinkets. trinkets. trinkets. everyone says this. it’s true. he would 100% be a trinkets person (obviously because of you) his bag rattles whenever he’s around and everyone in blue lock tries their hardest not to make fun of it.
overall, the ways that rin shows affection for you might be a little different from everyone else's, and he hopes that despite his rude, blunt attitude, you'll understand how much he truly adores you.

Goodbye
Professor! Spencer Reid x Reader
Warnings: Angst, one mention of the reader as a girl, teacher/student relationship, if there's anything else, let me know
Word count: 1.4k
(please be nice I never write)
The beginning of the semester is usually stressful; the combination of finding your classes, meeting professors, and getting used to the workload can be a lot. But nothing could have prepared you to see your boyfriend of three months at the front of the class, greeting students as they walked in.
When your eyes meet, you freeze, realizing Professor Reid and Spencer Reid are, in fact, the same person. He starts walking towards you in an awkward manner, the same shyness he had when you first met. But before he can reach you, you dart towards a seat in the back of the class, unable to handle that conversation just yet. His eyes follow you, and you can only hope he understands why you can’t speak to him. It isn’t every day you find out you’ve unknowingly been sleeping with your professor.
See, you met months ago, right at the beginning of the summer. You had been reading at a table in your favorite library; it had a cafe in it, and the employees were always great. The rest of the tables were full, and you happened to look up as he was looking around for an empty seat, with a coffee in one hand and a book in the other. It was almost out of the movies, the way your heart stopped as your eyes met. He had to have been the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen, then he gave you this shy smile, and immediately you were done for. You offered him the empty chair at your table, and by some miracle, he accepted the invite.
As he was sitting down, you took the opportunity to introduce yourself, to which he smiled and replied with his own name.
“Well, Spencer Reid, I don’t know why it’s so busy today. Usually, the place is pretty empty.” He didn’t seem like the type to enjoy crowds.
Proving my guess, he replied, “The last time I came in, most of the tables were empty. I figured it would be the same now." His eyes flickered from your eyes to the rest of you. “Though I’m starting to think it may not be such a bad thing.”
Your eyebrows furrowed. “And why’s that?”
Almost like a switch was flipped, his demeanor changed. No longer was he shy and awkward, now he was exuding confidence. “I have an excuse to talk to a pretty girl.”
You didn’t do any reading after that. Instead, you and Spencer spent the rest of the day chatting (flirting) about your favorite books, hobbies, and everything in between.
In the next couple of weeks, you kept meeting at the library, both acting as if it were an accident. Eventually, though, you started meeting outside of the library, starting with walks around a local park, where he told you about his job as a profiler in the Behavioral Analysis Unit, explaining he would be gone for days to find the “unsub,” as he called it. Walks turned to trips to the movies; he had a thing for films in foreign languages, and you didn’t mind him translating everything in your ear (though you were not paying much attention to anything other than the feel of his breath on your neck).
One night, after dinner, you asked him to kiss you, wanting to be more than the sort of not stranger we became. He took the hint, and for the rest of the summer, as long as he was in the city, you were inseparable.
Until now.
The lecture went fast, as the first day usually does. Professor Reid only went over the syllabus, not that you were paying attention to a thing he said; you were too busy thinking about the impossible situation you had ended up in. When he finished going over the syllabus, he dismissed everyone early. You wanted to leave the class quickly, but as if he knew what you were going to do, he met you at your seat. You didn’t stand a chance.
“We should talk.” Though he was not physically holding you, you could not move. You knew you would either talk about it now or would never talk again.
The class finally cleared, and you were alone. This is something you would usually relish, but this time, being alone with him feels dirty, like you’re doing something wrong.
Avoiding eye contact, you fidget with the strap of your bag. “So when you said you worked as a profiler, were you lying?” It's certainly not the most pressing issue, but you had to find something to say.
The sound of his chuckle was both music to your ears and nails on a chalkboard. “No, I teach as a side job when I'm not on a case. I'm sorry, I must have forgotten to mention that.” It’s confusing how he can find humor in a situation like this.
“Yeah, it would have been nice to know. especially when you heard me complain about my college classes.” You don’t blame him, never could, but you have to be upset about something. When you finally get the courage to look at him, the look he gives you tells you he knows this.
Having spent the last thirty minutes thinking, you already know what you have to do. Tears began filling your eyes as you really, truly took him in.
“We have to break up.”
“What?” He looks devastated.
“It's the most logical option, you have to agree.” you can’t look at him anymore, too scared to see his reaction. You start pacing. “I mean, this is putting your job in danger, and there’s no way I’m letting this jeopardize my education. Not to mention how cliche it is for a student and her teacher to be together." You take a glance at him while you take a breath and continue, "Do you know what people would say about me if they found out?" you then wait for a response, but instead, his mouth is ajar as he takes in everything you just said.
Unable to handle the silence, you continue, trying to convince both of you that this is the right choice. “So we break up. It doesn’t matter how either of us feels, it’s what has to be done. No matter how much fun I had. No matter how much I care about you. It doesn’t matter.” The tears are starting to flow now, but the word vomit will not stop. “Nothing matters because I can’t be the girl who sleeps with her professor for a good grade. Even if it will kill me to see you three times a week and not be able to hug you, kiss you,... or even talk to you.” That’s what breaks you, the reality of the situation finally getting to you.
Your sob is what finally breaks him out of his trance; he rushes to you as if his only job is to calm you down. His hands cup your face faster than you can process. “You’re right... we should break up. For my career and your education.” His eyes are tracing your face like he’s trying to memorize every detail of it, as if his eidetic memory could ever fail him. “But this summer has been the best thing to happen to me, and I will always remember it as that. You taught me how to live again, not just survive.”
Your breathing starts to calm again; he seems to always know how to do that. Just another thing you will miss about him.
As you take in one another, you realize how much you don’t want to lose him. Not if you don’t have to.
“I can drop the class, and we’ll avoid each other on campus. We can do that, right?” But he’s got that look in his eyes, the one that says he’s made up his mind. It may have started as your idea, but it’s ending as his final decision.
“You need the class to graduate, and I’m the only professor who teaches it.” His sad smile mocks you. “And we both know I can’t stay away from you when you’re mine.”
The tears start up again as he reminds you that you won’t be his anymore. That he won’t be yours.
“I’m going to miss you.”
“Goodbye,” the final whisper of your name before he walks away feels like a knife to the heart.

Doing It All For Us (Pt.9)
Masterlist
Rafe Cameron x Reader
Summary: This chapter gets pretty fucked up but ends well! I hope you enjoy! <3
Warnings: Language, substance abuse (cocaine, alcohol), cigarettes, self-harm, suicide attempt, psychosis, mental health
Word Count: 5.7k+
You moved your food around your plate as you listened to Topper, Rafe and Kelce discuss baseball. You couldn't be bothered to eat.
Rafe knew you were craving drugs. He knew you too well. You couldn't hide it from him. So, of course, he became annoyingly overprotective. He didn't leave you on your own for long.
You didn't want to be at the club right now. You hadn't showered in four days. You were still in the same old t-shirt you borrowed from Courtney. Your hair sat in a messy bun on your head and you had no make up on. Thank God you had at least drowned yourself in your JC perfume.
Rafe dragged you to the club, forcing you to eat and socialize. But you didn't even try. You sat there, obviously unhappy, just bringing everyone else down.
Rafe ran his fingers over your leg and smiled at you. You attempted to smile back but it was just pitiful. Topper and Kelce were staring at you with worried looks.
"Baby-"
"I'm gonna go smoke." You said, standing up and heading towards the door.
"Do you want me to-"
"No!"
You walked across the street from the club and sat in the grass. Lighting up an American Spirit, you laid back and watched the clouds move above you.
_
"What's going on with her, dude?" Topper asked Rafe.
Rafe was on the verge of tears but he held them back. "I-I don't know. I mean, a lot is going on but she won't talk to me. She just sits in silence and barely eats..."
"Maybe Courtney could get through to her?" Kelce asked.
Rafe shakes his head. "She tried. Court says she's gone through this before. Told me not to leave her alone for too long." He said as he looked out the window. He noticed you weren't where you had been moments ago. He stood up quickly and walked outside. "Y/N!" He yelled as he looked around for you. You were gone.
Rafe ran back inside, panicking. "She's gone!" He told Topper and Kelce.
"What?" Topper asked as he stood up, throwing some money on the table.
Rafe ran his shaking hands through his hair as his eyes began to swell with tears once again. "We gotta find her, man!"
The boys ran outside and piled into Rafe's truck.
-
You heard the sound of a bike approaching you but you didn't turn to look. You just kept walking lazily down the side of the road, dragging your cigarette every now and then.
"Hey, Princess!" You hear Barry say as he pulls up next to you. You sigh and turn to look at him. "Where's Prince Charming, huh? Lettin' you walk all alone out here. Never know who might swoop you up!" He laughs.
You just stare at him, too tired to say anything back. You can feel the bags under your eyes. Your face felt heavy and your body was weak from malnourishment.
"Shit..." He says as he examines you. "You look like you need a fix, am I right, Princess?"
You nod.
"Hop on," He says. He doesn't even offer you his helmet but you don't care. You climb on the back of his bike and wrap your arms around his waist. He drives off towards his house.
You know Barry was a bad guy. He'd probably want to take you back to his place, get you high, try to get in your pants. But you just didn't care anymore. The voices in your head were eating you alive.
Worthless. They don't really love you. Burden.
The words play over and over again in your head as you watch the trees pass by.
"Here we are," Barry says, helping you off the bike. "Come on, I'll fix you up."
You follow Barry inside. You scanned his house, noticing the few people that laid lazily on his couch, obviously doped out of their minds.
"You ever freebased?" Barry asks as he sits down at the kitchen table, sprinkling coke over a piece of foil.
"Yeah." Your voice was weak. You sat down across from him as you watched him prepare the foily.
He slides it over to you with a tooter and a lighter. You bring the tooter to your lips and light the bottom of the foil. You inhale the smoke slowly, feeling an instant buzz.
Barry smiles as he watches you. "Damn, you go harder than Country Club!" He laughs. "I ain't ever seen no Kook Queens up in the trap house smoking foilies!"
"I'm from LA," You tell him, feeling a little more talkative now that your buzz was hitting.
You hand him the paraphernalia. "That's all you, Princess. Go crazy." He said, waving you off.
You chuckle, bringing the tooter back to your lips to smoke more. After a bit, you were on Cloud 9.
People began drifting in and out of Barry's house. He'd sell them drugs, talk to some girls, then come back and sit with you, continuing to fix you up with the makeshift crack.
"You wanna shot, Princess?" Barry asks as he taps your arm with a bottle of whiskey.
You take it from him and quickly chug as much as you can before you get back to making your foily. You were really feeling it now. You hadn't been this high in a long time.
"Ayo, Y/N!" Barry says, snapping his fingers in your face.
You snap up to look at him. "What?"
"Chill, girl! Have another shot, you need to relax."
You eyed him for a moment as your nose twitched, but you took the bottle and chugged more.
"You really love that kid?" Barry asked you.
"What do you mean?"
"Rafe," He said. "You was bout ready to kill me for his ass!" Barry chuckled.
Rafe. Rafe. The love of your life. The only person that made you feel at home. You had left him at the club. You looked around now, realizing it was dark out and Barry's house was full of people getting high as fuck. Music was blasting way louder than you realized and you could feel your anxiety start to rise.
You snap out of your trance and look back to Barry. "Yeah. I do." You said confidently.
Barry smiles. "You know, for a Kook, you're not half bad. Country Club's a lucky man."
You look up at him with your devil eyes. The one's that came out after you'd drown yourself in substances. The eyes that showed who you truly were under your make up and jewelry. The psychopath.
Barry eyed you for a moment, looking almost scared. You offer him a small smile, hoping to convey that you were fine but knowing deep down you probably looked crazy.
Barry offered you a bill to snort one of the lines he just poured out. You accepted and leaned over the table, railing the white powder quickly.
"Well aren't you a sight," You hear a raspy voice say from behind you.
You turn around to see an older man, probably your dad's age. But he looked even older. Years of alcohol and drugs taking a toll on him.
You scrunch your nose up at him as he steps towards you and places a hand on your hip.
"Back up, Luke." Barry said, pushing him away from you.
"Ah, keepin' her all to yourself?"
"That's Cameron's girl." Barry states, keeping you behind him.
"Well I don't see that little shit around!" Luke laughs an intoxicated laugh.
You could feel anxiety rise in your chest. You didn't want to be here anymore. You wanted Rafe. You wanted to go home. You didn't want to be this fucking high anymore.
Barry turned around as he noticed you hyperventilating. "Ah, fuck." He said. He grabbed the whiskey off the table and put his arm around you. He pushed Luke out of the way as he lead you back to his bedroom.
You felt yourself pulled back as Luke grabbed your hand. "Get off me!" You yelp.
Barry turns around and punches Luke in the temple causing him to instantly fall to the ground. "Don't fucking touch her!" He turns and ushers you back to his bedroom.
You were a weeping mess now. Crying and hyperventilating. Barry closed the door behind him and you coward away from him, nervous he was going to do something.
He holds his hands up in defense. "Hey, Y/N, I'm not gonna hurt you okay?" He says. "Sit."
You sit down on the edge of his bed and pull your knees to your chest.
"Hear, drink this. It will calm you down."
You take the whiskey from his hand and chug. Too much crack. You were scared and paranoid. You didn't have your phone or anything. You were stuck in the middle of this party out in the Cut high off your ass and you hadn't talked to Rafe in hours.
"R-Rafe." You stutter.
"Hey, just relax, okay? I'mma call him right now."
You nod your head quickly, taking another swig from the bottle.
Barry paces his small room as he dials Rafe's number. Your eyes flicker back and forth as the voices in your head come back. You put your hands over your ears and shake your head, trying to get them to stop.
You're too high. You're going to die.
"Ayo, Rafe! You need to come get your girl, man!" Barry's voice echos in the background.
The voices became too much and you start screaming.
"Shit, shit! Yo, she's freaking out! Come get her!"
You were practically ripping your hair out.
"Y/N! Stop!" Barry yelled, grabbing your hands and keeping them by your sides.
You continued to thrash around on the bed, shaking your head back and forth violently. You let out another scream.
"Rafe's coming! He's on his way!" Barry yells at you.
You ease up slightly at the sound of Rafe's name but you were still terrified and you didn't know why.
"Listen to me, it's just the drugs okay? You smoked too much. You're okay. I promise." Barry said, trying to calm you down. "Look at me!"
You try to focus your eyes but you couldn't help but shake.
"You're good," Barry reassured you.
You nodded nervously. Barry let go of you and you remained somewhat still on the bed.
Fifteen minutes later, there was knocking on the door.
"Barry!" Rafe banged on the door. Barry opened it and Rafe, Courtney, Kelce, and Topper piled into the room.
"Y/N!" Rafe screamed as he ran to your shaking body on the bed.
"Take me home!" You cry as you throw your body around him. "I don't want to be here."
Rafe held you tighter than he ever had before.
"What the hell did you give her?!" Courtney yelled at Barry.
"Look, I'm sorry-" Courtney slapped him, cutting him off from his sentence.
Barry nodded, knowing he deserved it. "She freebased a bunch of coke, man. Just get her home."
Rafe wanted to strangle him, but you were more important. He had one arm around your waist and one cradling your head as he pushed past Barry and out to the living room.
"The Kooks are here!" People start saying as Rafe carried you through the sea of junkies that invaded the trailer.
"Fuck off!" You could hear Courtney, Topper, and Kelce telling people to back off. These weren't even Pogues. They were lower. This house was disgusting and you just wanted to leave.
You knew Rafe was probably furious with you. But he still came for you. You clung to him so tightly as you shook in his arms.
"I got you, baby." He said. His voice was so soft and it calmed you down. "Top, drive." Rafe said, throwing him the keys to the truck.
Rafe pulled you into the back seat with him, Courtney climbing in after.
Rafe placed you in his lap, he forced you to look at him. "Baby girl, you're safe, okay?"
All you could do was sob. Fear taking over your body. "The end," You spit out between sobs.
Rafe holds your face between his hands. "The end? What end, sweetheart?"
He'd never seen you cry so much. Your entire face was bright red and moist from tears. Everyone else in the car was silent as Topper drove.
"My end!" You sob loudly.
Rafe is just staring at you with a puzzled look on his face, tears spilling from his eyes. "Baby, what are you talking about?!"
You quickly grabbed the door handle, swinging it open as you tried to jump out.
"Y/N!" Courtney yelled.
Rafe had his hands around your waist and Courtney grabbed your wrist pulling you back in.
Topper swerved at the sudden commotion but quickly regained control. "Dude, what the fuck!?" He yelled from the driver's seat.
You started screaming again and tugging at your hair again.
"What is wrong with her?!" Kelce yelled.
"Psychosis!" Courtney replied, pinning your hands down. She got on top of you, straddling your lap. "Rafe, hold her still!"
Rafe did as he was told, bawling his eyes out. He'd never seen anything like this in his life.
Courtney decked you as hard as she could in the side of the head and you went unconscious.
"What the fuck!" The boys yelled.
Courtney sat back, letting you rest in Rafe's lap. "Drive," She says.
The car ride was silent besides Rafe's sobs as he cradled your head.
When Topper pulled up to your house, Rafe carried you inside, immediately going to your room and tucking you into bed.
He sat and stared at you, his tears never letting up.
You stirred slightly but leaned deeper into your pillow.
"I need to talk to you," Courtney said from the door.
Rafe looked up to meet her gaze. He nodded. He looked back at you, placing a kiss on your forehead before joining Courtney in the hallway.
Courtney pulled Rafe down stairs to where Topper and Kelce were.
"What the hell is going on?" Kelce asks.
Courtney sighs. "Psychosis. She has episodes when she's really depressed."
———-
You tumbled out of bed and grabbed the knife from you bedside table. You crawled toward your bathroom and locked the door.
Rafe was surely mad at you for going to Barry's and getting fucked up. All your friends were probably about done with you. Your dad was gone. Fuck it right?
You took a small post it note from your counter and wrote out a few simple words. I love you, Rafe.
You stuck it to the counter and sat down.
They are better off without you. Kill yourself. Bleed.
The voices made you cry. You didn't want to leave Rafe but what if they were right? Maybe he was better off without you.
You put the knife to your wrist, tears falling down your cheeks. You force yourself to smile and slice the knife quickly across you skin, far too deep.
———-
"I'm gonna go check on her." Courtney said.
She had explained to the boys what exactly was happening to you. You were spiraling into a deep depression. But not like most people experience. Hallucinations, anxiety, the comatose states. It was taking over your body. You were in a very fragile state and the drugs didn't help.
"RAFE!" Courtney screamed.
Rafe got up immediately and ran upstairs, Topper and Kelce not far behind him.
"She locked herself in the bathroom!" Courtney cried.
Rafe didn't waste any time as he threw his shoulder into the door.
"Y/N!" He screamed, finally kicking the door in. He saw you motionless body on the floor, blood draining from your wrist.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, NO, NO!" Rafe repeated as he ran to your side. "Call 911!" He screamed as he ripped his shirt off and wrapped it around your wrist.
Courtney was frozen, tears falling from her eyes as she watched you bleed out. She couldn't help but remember the time you'd tried to do the exact same thing in her bathroom at nine years old.
Kelce caught Courtney as she collapsed. Sobbing over the fact she could never make you happy enough to stay on this earth.
Topper was level headed. He called 911. He explained everything that happened.
Rafe was hysterical when the paramedics arrived. They had to pull him away from you.
He climbed into the ambulance with you. There was no way he wouldn't be with you this time.
"Stay with me, baby, please, please, stay with me. I love you so so much." Rafe said as he held your hand.
"You her boyfriend?" The paramedic asked.
Rafe nodded, keeping his eyes on you. "Why couldn't I help her?"
Rafe's eyes scanned your body. You were pale and thin. Your hair was matted and you had circles under your eyes. He couldn't help but blame himself for not taking care of you.
"It's not your fault, kid." The paramedic said.
Rafe pressed his lips to your frail hand, praying for the first time in his life. He asked whatever God was listening to help him build a life you would want to be a part of. He just wanted to know what to do. What he could do to make you happy.
Rafe sat and watched as they once again hooked you up to machines. His angel, his baby girl, his goddess. He would never understand why she wanted to destroy herself.
As frail as you were, you were still vibrant in his eyes. And maybe that's why he hated himself. He thought you were were perfect every time he laid eyes on you. He couldn't see your bones pertruding or your hair falling out or the loss of your voice. Any state you were in, he was completely in love with you.
————–
You opened your eyes, taking in the blinding white walls of the room around you. The fluorescent lighting burned your retina's as you reached up to shield yourself from them. That's when you noticed the pain in your left wrist.
"Ow, fuck!" You examined the white bandage that was wrapped around your forearm. A deep red leaking through the cloth. You furrowed your eyebrows at the sight. You don't remember what happened or how you got here but judging by the placements of your wound, you knew you had done it to yourself.
"Shiiiit," You mutter as you sit up and scan the room. There was a doorless bathroom in the corner, a small desk in the other. You were on a small twin sized mattress that lay atop a metal bed frame. The small window was covered in bars, letting in little sunlight. This wasn't the first time you'd been in a room like this.
"No, no, no, no..." You said as you got off the bed and rushed to the large metal door. You looked out the small window for any sign of someone. "Hey!" You start yelling, banging your fists against the door, completely ignoring the searing pain in your wrist. "Hey, let me the fuck out of here!" You continue banging and kicking the door until someone finally opens it.
You step back as you watch two people enter. One woman in a lab coat, dark hair pulled back, glasses, clutching a clip board. The other, a man, in blue scrubs.
"How are you feeling, Miss Y/L/N?" The lady asks.
"Why am I here?" You ask, staring angrily at her. "Where's Rafe?"
She takes a step forward and you take a step back. "You are here, Miss Y/L/N, because you experienced a deep state of psychosis and tried to take your own life."
Psychosis. You hadn't had an episode since you were a kid. It only ever happened when you got severely depressed.
"You also had a large amount of cocaine and alcohol in your system. You became a danger to yourself and others. After you were treated at the hospital," She motions to your wrist and you bring it behind your back, hiding it. "You were brought here for treatment.
You scoff. "I don't need treatment. I just had an episode. I need to go home. I need to see Rafe!"
"You have been placed on a mandatory 72 hour hold."
"How long have I been here?"
"Six hours."
"Fuck that! Let me out, I'm not fucking staying here!"
The larger nurse steps towards you.
"If you literally step any closer I will fight you!" You spit at him.
"Y/N, we need you to try to calm down. This stress isn't good for you or your child."
"What the fuck are you talking about?! I don't have-" You stop, swallowing your words.
"You are pregnant, Miss Y/L/N."
Your eyes fall to the floor as you try to take in the words you just heard. You slowly turn and walk back to the bed, sitting down calmly.
Pregnant. Pregnant. The word repeated itself in your mind.
"Are you okay?"
You scrunched your face and waved them off, laying down on the bed and pulling your knees to your chest.
"Visiting hours are four to six. Mr. Cameron will be waiting to see you."
You don't respond, burying your face into the pillow and letting the tears fall silently from your eyes.
____________
The clock struck four and you were already sitting up, waiting for nurse to come retrieve you. You'd been thinking for the last few hours about everything. Whether or not you were going to tell Rafe. You had no clue how Rafe was feeling. You'd just tried to end your life. You also got high as fuck. You wouldn't blame him if he wanted to leave you.
You traced the RC that was scarred in your skin and silently prayed he would forgive you. Your other hand traced your stomach. You didn't want to die. You wanted to be with Rafe. You wanted your baby. You wanted to be normal and be happy for your family.
You heard the door click open and you jumped. "You have a visitor," The nurse said, holding the door open so he could escort you to the visiting room.
You walked slowly, fiddling with the sleeves of your sweater. Courtney must have packed your bag. A few pairs of sweats, tank tops, and sweaters. All things the hospital would accept. She remembered what you could and couldn't have in here.
You enter the cafeteria, scanning the room and seeing people sitting with their loved ones. Your eyes landed on Rafe and you breathed a sigh of relief.
He looked up, eyes meeting yours. He slowly stood from his seat, scanning over your body as he tried to accept the fact you were in here.
You couldn't hold back the tears as you ran to him and jumped in his arms. You wrapped your arms around him tightly and you could feel him sniffling into your hair.
"Hey baby girl!" He mumbled, letting his own tears flow. He gripped you for dear life, as if he were to let go you'd simply evaporate.
"Rafe, I don't remember anything." You whisper.
You could feel Rafe try to control his breathing. He obviously remembers everything.
"Sit down, baby." He says, releasing his grip on you and helping your weak body into the chair. He sits next to you, taking your hands in his.
He choked back tears as he felt how frail you were.
The expression on his face broke your heart. Knowing it was your fault he was in so much pain. "Rafe....I'm so sorry..."
He shook his head. "No, baby, no. It's not your fault. I'm sorry I didn't take care of you."
"Rafe, baby, what are you talking about?" You lean forward, tilting his chin up to look at you. "All you do is take care of me. This isn't your fault."
"I just-" He begins, trying to take in a deep breath. "I just want to make you happy. I want to build a life that you will be happy with."
"You make me so happy, Rafe. My head just isn't right. But I'm gonna get it right. For you. For us. For-" You stop yourself. "For us." You repeat.
You hated yourself right now. The way tears spilled out from his beautiful blue eyes. You can't believe you put him through this.
You force yourself to smile. You didn't want to be here. You had absolutely no idea what to do about the news you were pregnant. But if being here could potentially get you some help, you were willing to do so. For him. For your baby.
You climb into his lap, wrapping your fragile arms around his neck. He brings his arms up, wrapping around your waist. His wrist rested on your hip bone, noticing how thin you were under your sweater.
"Did you eat today, baby?" He whispered, already knowing the answer.
You shake your head. "No, but I'll have dinner after this." You promise. Knowing you have to eat for two even though the thought of food made you sick.
You pull back from him slightly. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Rafe sighs, the memory of the night prior causing him extreme anxiety, but he nodded his head.
-
A look of disgust sat on your face as Rafe finished telling you what happened. You were so upset with yourself. You could have reached out for help but you decided to fuck up instead. As you always do. Always afraid of asking for help and just getting high and trying to end it all instead. Even when you were with the love of your life.
"5 minutes," A nurse said as he walked past you.
You and Rafe both ignored him.
"Rafe..." You began, tangling your fingers with is. "I'm going to get better okay?" He was hesitant and you didn't blame him. Rafe was a coke head, yes, but he had never seen this side of addiction. "I'm going to talk with the doctor tonight. Talk about meds and therapy and all that shit. Just please...please don't give up on me."
His eyes shot up to meet yours, almost offended by your words. "I would never leave you."
That's when you realized how fucking shitty you were. Rafe was a coke head. But he stopped for you. He took care of you when you overdosed. When you tried to end your life. He was completely addicted to you. Drugs couldn't compare. He'd do anything just to have you but here you were, running off to the trap to get high and landing yourself in a mental institution.
The nurses announced that visiting hours were over and your stomach dropped. You weren't ready to spend the night without Rafe.
"I'll be back tomorrow," He promises. "I love you more than anything, angel." He said as he pulled you into him and pressed kisses to your head.
"Can you bring Courtney tomorrow?" You ask.
Rafe's face falls. "Uhm..."
"What is it?"
Rafe sighs. "Courtney is, uhmm...she's upset."
You look down. Courtney had been subjected to this before. You couldn't blame her.
"I'll talk to her, okay?" He says, grabbing your chin and forcing you to look at him. You just nod in agreement and he presses a kiss to your lips.
You want to savor the moment forever but it's cut short by the nurses ushering you all back to your rooms. You turn to look at Rafe one more time. He attempts a smile but you can still see the pain on his face.
Once you are back in your room you let it all out. You sobbed loudly as you thought about your actions, how much pain Rafe was in, how Courtney was hurting, how you had a tiny human growing inside you. It was all so overwhelming.
A nurse knocked on your door and you quickly wiped away your tears. "Dinner?"
You offer a smile, walking over and taking the tray of food from him. "Thank you."
You go back to your bed and pick at the food on your plate. It looked disgusting but you knew you needed to eat. You rubbed your belly, knowing the little life you and Rafe created was growing inside you. Suddenly, you didn't feel so alone.
_________
You stayed calm the next few days. You saw the doctor and she prescribed you some antidepressants, ones that wouldn't hurt the baby, you made sure.
She voted against the anti-psychotics, since it didn't seem to be a prominent thing. You knew this last episode was fueled by depression, alcohol, and far too much cocaine.
Rafe visited you every day. You still hadn't told him. You couldn't, not like this. You told him how hard you were trying to get better, and he could see your change in behavior. Being completely sober seemed to improve your mood so much.
After Rafe left on day three, you headed straight to speak with your therapist.
"Hey," You said as your plopped down on the couch in her office.
"Y/N, how are you feeling?" She asks with a smile.
"I'm good," You say, biting your lip and blushing. "Just saw Rafe. I can't wait to get out of here and be with him again." You throw your head back, smiling like an idiot.
She chuckles. "Will he be the one picking you up tomorrow?"
"Yep!"
"Have you told him?" She asked, motioning to your stomach.
You smile and place your hand on your belly. "Not yet. I want it to be special. I don't want to tell him while I'm locked up in here. He'll go nuts. He's a very hands on type of person."
She nods. "How are you feeling about your sobriety plan?"
"I can do it. For Rafe and for our baby. I don't want anything to happen to him."
"Him?" She asks, raising her eyebrows.
You smile. "Yeah. I've been having dreams the last few nights. It's a boy."
Your therapist humors you. Getting through the rest of your session, she makes sure you're all set up with your medication, contact info for any help you may need, and goes over the plan you two worked out for getting back on your feet.
In all honestly, you didn't care. Yes, you were going to take your meds. Yes you were going to stay sober. But you just wanted to get home. You wanted to be with Rafe.
________
You woke up the next morning with a smile. You threw on a clean pair of sweats and a tank top. You tossed your beach waves into a high ponytail. You couldn't help but smile in your tiny bathroom mirror. Rafe would be here soon and you'd get to go home.
All you wanted was to get some McDonald's, go home, make love, and watch movies with the love of your life. You were determined to prioritize your happiness so you could be a good girlfriend and a good mother.
You sat on your bed, clutching your duffle bag. You couldn't help but smile as you tried to be patient for the nurse.
Finally, he came to retrieve you. "Ready to go, Miss Y/L/N?"
You jumped up from your bed and walked out the door. "Yep!"
You walked with confidence, feeling like your old self again. You clutched your bag to your shoulder, running your thumb over the RC on your chest. You couldn't help but smile. Things were going to be good now.
The nurse escorts you out to the lobby, and to no surprise, your blue-eyed, 6'4" boy was waiting for you. You dropped your bag and jumped into his arms.
"Hey baby!"
"Pretty girl," He whispered into your neck. "I've missed you so much."
You enjoyed his embrace for a moment before he set you down and picked up your bag. "You ready to go?"
"Fuck yes!" You say excitedly.
Rafe laces his fingers through yours, trying his best to ignore the bandage on your wrist.
He walks you out to his truck and helps you into the passenger seat. "You hungry?" He asks.
"Mickey D's!" You yell excitedly. Your meds were doing a great job of bringing your mood up.
Rafe chuckles. "As you wish, angel." He closes your door and runs around the truck to hop in the drivers side.
Rafe pulls into the drive thru, ordering you nuggets and fries and a McFlurry, of course. He orders himself some food too and he parks in the parking lot.
The two of you giggle, throwing fries at eachother and sharing food. Just enjoying the moment on this beautiful sunny day.
"So I'm guessing you're ready for a horror movie marathon?" Rafe asks as he drives back to Figure Eight.
"Most definitely!" You tell him. "But...can we stop by Courtney's real quick?"
Rafe bites his lip at your request, but he nods.
Courtney had barely talked to the boys in days. She was traumatized. It was the second time she'd seen you try to take your life. She did everything in her power to make you happy and it was never enough. It wasn't her fault, of course, but she couldn't help but feel like it was.
Rafe pulls into Courtney's driveway. He's about to get out of the truck but you stop him. "Just, give me a minute. Please." You tell him. He's reluctant but he nods.
You hop out of the truck and head towards the front door. You take a deep breath before ringing the door bell.
Helena answers, taking in the sight of you. She held back tears as she pulled you into her arms. She didn't say anything. Just held you tight and rubbed your back before nodding towards the basement.
You offer her a smile and head downstairs. You could hear a movie playing loudly. You turned the corner to the theater room, seeing Courtney spread out on the couch. A plethora of soda cans and snack wrappers littering the table in front of her.
"Court?" You say softly. Almost hoping she doesn't hear you. But she does. Her head snaps to you, but she doesn't move to get up.
She reaches for the remote and pauses her movie. "Hey," She finally says. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm, uhm...I'm good." You told her. "How are you?"
She snorts at your question. "Living the dream."
"Courtney, I'm so sorry-"
"Why'd you do it?"
"I-I don't remember doing it. It was a mistake."
"So I'm supposed to forgive you and just wait for you to do it again?" She scoffs.
Her words hurt, but they are valid. "I'm totally sober now, Court. And I'm on meds. I'm really trying to sort my shit out."
"What's gonna keep you sober? Rafe obviously isn't good enough. You should have seen him after they took you to the nuthouse. He was a fucking wreck. I've never seen a grown man cry like that!" She's standing now, yelling at you.
Your face twitches but you bite back tears. "I know. But it's different now."
"How's it different, Y/N?! Please, enlighten me!"
"I'm pregnant!" You say, standing up to meet her gaze.
Her eyes widen, trying to find the words to say.
"Rafe doesn't know yet." You add.
Courtney's lip quivers. She couldn't be mad at you. As much as you hurt her, she loved you more than anything.
She pulls you to her, hugging you tightly. You hug her back as she rocks you back and forth.
You hold each other for a solid five minutes. She pulls back, taking your face between her hands. "You're gonna be such a good mama." She tells you with a smile. And she meant it. As fucked up as you were, you were loyal, and you put the people you loved first.
You beam up at her. She leans down and presses kiss to your lips. "Don't you ever do that shit again," She scolds when she pulls back.
"I promise, Court."
She smiles. "Go, tell Rafe."
You smile back at her. "I'll text you. I love you."
"I love you, too." She smiles.
You run upstairs and out the front door, quickly hopping into Rafe's truck.
"Everything okay?" He asks.
You smile. "Everything is perfect. Can we go back to my place? Watch movies, order food, and maybe take a bath?" You ask.
"That sounds perfect, baby girl." He says, leaning over and kissing you.
You bite your lip and look out the window, excited about your future for once in your life.

─────── · ·
You were on edge while readying yourself for your next shoot. Applying the last touches and fixing your crooked bow-tie, you leaned forwards on the vanity staring into the mirror. Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath, you turned on a smile and walked towards the studio. Your tuxedo flaps waving behind you as you walked, top-hat under your arm.
You knew that the fans loved these videos, they often showed the best engagement statistics and you were worried that as your first time as a "gentleman," you would not live up to the fans standards. Amanda was already sat at the table, the Jenga tower standing tall and proud at its centre.
Alex was off-camera, constantly keeping an eye on the tower to ensure every brick was perfectly placed before they were ready to start filming.
"Hey (name)! You ready to get your ass kicked in Jenga?" Amanda challenged with a large smile. Shaking your head at your friend, you placed your hat atop your head before taking an empty seat beside her.
"More like are you not going to cry when I kick your ass?" you retorted, giving her shoe a light tap with your own underneath the table. "We will just have to see, but we all must remember, we are gentlemen after all- Hello everyone! and welcome back to the table where us gentle-fellows will be trying to disassemble this tower."
Your head flipped around, hat almost flying off your head by how quickly you moved to face the camera, cheeks warming as you did not hear Alex call for the cameras to roll. Spencer, your boyfriend, had taken a seat beside you as usual.
You met his stare with wide eyes as he grabbed your shoulder and laughed, you couldn't help but smile in return loving to hear the chime of it. "If you gentlemen are done grasping each other's garments we really must make haste of this game, I have a meeting with my accountant at noon and another with my mistress from across the pod at three!" Shayne announces from across the table, his shoes upon the wood surface, blocking his face from view as he tips on nearly falling backwards and out of his chair.
Your eye go wide, welling with tears as you try and hold back your laughter from the double-eyed wink he gives you that has Spencer pointing you a look. "Don't tell me you're actually going to listen to this unchivalrous, undefined, uncivil, and highly impolite individual? We will start when we start for it is the man that determines the time."
You stare at Spencer, that anxiety coming back to your chest as you laugh it off and look towards the camera as a means of fake support, staring at it for a long while as you can imagine an eire noise playing and a slow zoom towards your face.
"Now if the real gentlemen could please step forwards, I am going to pull the first brick! Hmm let us see..." Amanda holds a finger to her chin, tapping it in contemplation, "pulling it from the top will not make the tower drop so I shall do just that!"
You lean in to whisper-shout into her ear, "You're saying your thoughts aloud!"
"Oh, sorry I did not realize, thank you gentleman. And do you know you are shouting?"
"SHOUTING?" you question.
"YES, YOU JUST DID SO NOW!" Amanda shouts back.
"AH, WELL, I messed up my hearing when doing a most chivalrous deed while serving. Now that I think about it... I can't remember much of it except for the screams and the blood..."
Amanda appears to stare through you, not knowing what to say before Shayne falls backwards and out of his chair, the room exploding into laughter as he waves his top hat above the table to show that he's alright.
─────── · ·
The game progresses, Amanda nearly knocking the whole tower over and you all are running out of possible moves. "Well shit," you say, standing and walking towards the front of the table where the cameras face. Squatting down to level your eyesight to the game you strategize your move.
"If I may offer you a tidbit of advice, good friend," Spencer asks, fingers taping against the wood of the table as you nod your head once in his direction, preparing yourself mentally for whatever crazy line he had cooked up next, "Every word that comes out of his mouth this vid makes me a little scared for our relationship..." you joke with nervous laughter.
Spencer opens and closes his mouth, his head tilting forward in a silent ask, are you okay? we can stop? Character immediately dropped. All you do is not your head, grabbing his forearm gentle as he places his hand on top of your own.
"Pulling a brick should work, any brick. My old man would say its all up to luck now." Nothing actually too crazy... you think to yourself, thankful that Spencer was toning it down a bit yet how wrong you would be in the text moment when Shayne was to pull next.
"Good move, good move, Gentleman," Shayne compliments your flicking technique of a brick from the bottom of the tower. It had slightly shaken the organization now appearing like the leaning tower of Pisa.
Leaning in to pull a piece, the tower falls before Shayne's fingers even touch a piece, the game over yet Spencer appeared to still had a few lines to share.
"Well when I blow on things that tends to happen as well, wind in the sails and all that," Spencer comments with a smirk, fixing his glasses as the table erupts in laughter once more.
Mouth agape you don't know how to respond to your boyfriend as him and Shayne have a playful sparring match off to the side. Top hats long forgotten as they pull their punches and grab each other's neckties.
"It seems we know who the real gentleman are here," Amanda makes an offhand comment you both leaning on the table watching the two wrestle. A camera pans over your shoulder before cutting to both of your faces. "Say, gentleman. How's a drink sound right now?"
"A drink, you say?"
"Yeah."
"Then I would have to say yes-"
"Oi!" Spencers head flicks up, starring between you and Amanda. "They are MY drinkin' buddy!" The camera cuts to black.
─────── · ·
After the shoot, Spencer is hot on your heels walking towards the break room before he pulls you into a random empty office. "Hey, you are doing okay... right? You know that nothing I say while wearing this," his fingers point up and down his body, "means anything real."
"I know, I know, and thank you for trying to tone it down today. I-just, I really want the fans to like the episode but I feel like I ruined it being my over-anxious self. I just-"
"Hey, hey," Spencer wraps his arms around you as tears well in your eyes, his hand rubs up and down your back in a soothing motion. "The fans are going to love it just because they love you, I mean there's a reason I clickbait you in almost every episode..."
You both laugh, "I hate that you always find a way to make me laugh, Spence."
"And I hate that you hate me, what can I do to fix that?"
"Well... you could kiss me?" Spencer places a kiss to your forehead. "No- I mean like-"
"Mean what?"
"Now you're just being mean, Spence." Spencer chuckles before picking up your chin and pulling you in for a kiss. You sigh content against his lips loving the way you can feel Spencer physically relax as you fall into each others arms before pulling away.

An Animalistic Disaster
CH-27: Meeting the king of hell
Masterlist
Summery:Where you welcome the king of hell in your chaotic group and melody reveals something important
You held the bird that you were sure was Lucifer, close to your chest as you started walking inside the cabin with Husk and Niffty following behind. Niffty's tail was wagging in excitement and Husk just looked as concerned as you were.
Charlie was about to greet you but stopped once she saw the look on your face. " (Y/n)....? What're you holding?"
" Lucifer...."
" Luci...what?!"
She quickly rushed up to you and carefully picked up her dad. Husk showed her the tiny hat and cane that fell as well. You went to look for something you can lie him down in. You picked up a shoe box and filled it with one of the sofa cushions from your sofa. It overflowed a bit and the box looked like it might burst open but it was this or nothing. With this, you headed back to the kitchen.
"....fell from the sky and (Y/n) jumped to save him "
Looks like they were talking about when you saved him. It was odd though. Why did he fall from the sky? Up until now, all the others emerged from the ground inside a pentagram. His case was the only different one. Perhaps there was something unique about the fall of Lucifer. Hah, the irony....
Charlie soon placed unconscious Lucifer on top of the cushion and you gently checked if anything was broken. Not that you were an animal expert of anything but everything seemed fine. He was just knocked out.
" My my, what a commotion we have over here! What are you lot gathering together for?"
Alastor's voice boomed from behind as he stood behind you all and leaned down. He was much of significantly taller then all of you so it was easy for him to catch the sight of the cockatiel. " So we have a another guest perhaps?" His ears flicked. Another nosy little sinner.
Lucifer's eyes slowly began to pry open. It almost felt like his head was about to burst out from the headache. Almost like someone hammered his head a hundred times.
" Ahh what happened?"
All you heard was a chirp. But Charlie and others understood him and Charlie quickly scooped him up and hugged the box. Lucifer was startled for a bit looking at all these ... giants? Wait, was that a human girl? Why are they all so big? What happened with him? He tried to move his arms and legs.
His wings started flapping and when he extended his leg, his bird claw came into view. Perhaps he turned to his bird form while he was knocked out. He tried to magic back into his normal form but was unable to. He shook his hand in frustration before looking up at Charlie. He realized just how close she looked to his daughter. He wondered if it could be...
" Charlie.....?"
" Dad! Dad you're okay!" Charlie's excited voice rang throughout the room. ' Dad?!?' Alastor eye brows widened. This blasted thing was the no-good father of Charlie's? Lucifer fell down to earth??
" Charlie!" There was no doubt about it. This was his daughter. He quickly jumped up to hug her. Oh he was so so relieved. His baby girl was safe and in one piece. He doesn't know what he would have done if something happened to her. Tears filled his eyes before he knew what was happening. Charlie started to cry as well seeing her father cry. Now both the father and daughter was crying together.
You , Husk and others who soon gathered listening to the commotion watched it with a soft look. It was really touching. Everyone except Alastor who just had a scowl on his face.
" Charlie! What happened to you? Where are we? What's going on?!"
He asked a lot of things at once. Charlie felt herself sweatdrop looking at her dad as she placed him down again. " Calm down dad, I'll tell you everything."
So that's how you all found yourselves sitting around the soft with Lucifer standing on the dining table wearing his little hat and the cane in one of his legs being told everything from the scratch. The more he heard, the more bewildered he got. And he glanced towards you couple of times. It felt like she was leaving something out though purposely but he couldn't put his finger or claw in it.
" (Y/n) was it? Thanks for looking after my girl. You have my thanks. "
You didn't understand anything by chirps as you saw him suddenly bow at you after putting down his cane. You looked at Charlie helplessly to translate. Charlie understood quickly. " Owh, uh, dad thanked you for looking after me." Your face brightened up hearing that. You bowed yourself a little while sitting. " I consider myself lucky for being able to spend time with your daughter " Charlie felt herself flush hearing that. You were being too polite.
" Well let me see if I can use my powers. I'm the devil after all. There's very little that can confine me." He said smugly as he furrowed his eyebrows and commanded his body to transform that into a human's like theirs. Nothing happened, just silence followed. " H-hold on a second..maybe if I just...eughhh" He tried a second time with no results yet again. "It's impossible! How could a mere book seal all my powers?!? Where's my cane??"
Alastor snickered looking away. Niffty was looking at him with her tail wagging. She was trying really hard from pouncing on the bird even though her dog instinct told so. Lucifer was a bit unnerved with her and just stood away.
As soon as Lucifer was graced with his cane again that he put dowm, he felt a bit of his power surging through him. It wasn't much, but it was enough to transform into... something at least. For some reason, no matter how many times he tried to appear as a human it didn't work. It felt like that form was locked behind a barrier. He finally gave up and thought of something else he could transform to. His favourite, a duck.
Golden light surrounded his tiny form as Alastor's snickering finally stopped. All of them wondered if it was truly happening. As the light subsided they found Lucifer to be....a duck?!?
" Ta-da! I can't turn human for some reason but I can turn into other animals it seems ~" Lucifer said spreading his wings making feathers fly around. With a another burst of light he turned into a snake and coiled around Alastor with a grin. "Pretty cool, right~?"
Alastor felt a chill go through his spine for so blatantly being touched by this cursed man. He was about to yank Lucifer off form himself before he slithered his over to Charlie and booped his face on her cheek making her giggle.
You couldn't help but chuckle looking at all that. You couldn't hear what he was actually saying but it was still funny to see their shenanigans. It was like cartoon came to life.
" Let me try something else!" He swished around the cane once more. Nothing seemed to have happened.
" Hello hello, testing! Can you understand me now (Y/n)?"
You looked at him with your eyes widening. You could understand him! But he was still a snake..how..how did you understand him? This was a miracle. "Yes,yes I do!" You replied in awe.
"Aha! So my magic still works here, as usual. I just can't find how to turn into a human...oh well, I will figure something out eventually. I'm using my magic to talk into your head directly." He was confident in his abilities. Why wouldn't he be? He was the literal devil. There's very small things that can stop him. He came from the a cartoon in the first place right? Was he even real..what was going on.. travelling between realms, dimensions and worlds..and those last lines in that book. Wait right, the book fell with him.
" Did you guys see any book nearby that fell? It was like this tall with this width.." Lucifer showed with his snake head and tail how big it was. It clicked in everyone's head which book he was talking about. " You mean the one then sent us here right?" Charlie piped in. " The glowing yellow book.." Alastor spoke in venom in his tone. "Yes that's the one! Did you see it!"
Niffty, Husk and you all looked at each other and shook your head. " No, not really. Only you, your hat and your cane." You pointed at all those things. "You mean to say... " "This is bad! The book fell with me. If it falls in the wrong hands.."
.
.
.
.
" Oh? What's this?"
A gloved hand came out and picked up a certain golden plated book. A moth came and flew in top of the books cover. It couldn't see things that well without being up close.
"Wait~ I remember this book. This is the fucking shit that got us into this mess!!"
The moth squeaked angrily. A grin spread across the person's face. They lowered the book down where a doll of a dog awaited them. "Velvette, tell me, is this the one you two told me about earlier? " The doll bent her knees to look at it and scoffed while nodding " Yeah, that's it. That motherfucking thing brought us here. "
The hooded person chuckled gathering the book in their arms. " The hunt can wait for today. We got ourselves a book to read"
.
.
.
" You mean that fucking book is here? And is lost?" Charlie was began to hypervent. " That, that book is our only hope for getting out of this mess!" She grabbed your shoulder and screamed. "We've got to find it!!" Charlie was desperate, she was the one who got them into this mess. Finally, after this long time they had the chance to get out. And she was going to take it.
" Charlie dear calm down. Of course we're going to find it" Alastor placed a hand on Charlie shoulder while looking at her softly. It earned a scowl from Lucifer's face which Alastor relished in. " You father may have lost the book, but I assure you, I will succeed in finding it for you"
The hope in her eyes were slowly but surely returning looking back at him. She was unaware of what's going on, but the rest of you quickly understood. The king flew over to Charlie's shoulder as a bird and nipped at his hand to make him let go." Ouch what the-" " Charlie, darling, I can transform into any animals, I'm pretty sure I'll be more useful then this four eyes over here"
" Excuse me??"
" Oh you heard me~"
" We're going to go search for it together!" You quickly interjected between them. You weren't letting another musical break through while you stayed in a corner awkwardly. " But we're going out later together! When Vaggie and others return." You were able to calm down the situation somewhat. Husk was pretty impressed with your ability to dissect a situation and deal with it.
Later Charlie went with Lucifer to show him the episodes. Lucifer almost had a panic attack when he realized all his nervousness was shown in the TV. He turned into his snake form to hiss at Valentino when he saw how he licked Charlie. He swore he will tear Val from limb to limb if he ever got his hands on that guy. A smirk graced his lips when he heard that bell-hop was under a contract. Finally, something to piss him off with.
As the day went by, Vaggie, Pentious and others also arrived. Lucifer congratulated Vaggie with a hug and told her how happy he was for her to be included to the family. There was also an iconic moment when Lucifer said " oh so you're a fallen angel right? Me too! We have so much in common! I can tell you all about falling hahaha..." Safe to say he was a nervous wreck.
Melody was nervous meeting Lucifer. Like this was the man from the bible. Cartoon or not, he was real now. Next came the problem of sleeping. You and Melody finally went to the basement to check it out. You got spooked everytime you heard a strange noise. "That's it, I'm buying cleaning supplies tomorrow!" Niffty was more than happy to help. Everyone was far too tired so searching was on hold.
The next day rolled by. You gave Lucifer your bed saying it's the least you could do to show respect to someone of his calibre. Lucifer was flustered, he understood you guys situation was well so he didn't want to overstep but you insisted. He wasn't able to argue against you so he just stayed quiet.
In the afternoon while you were busy carrying the box's outside of the basement, you heard some quacks coming from around the lake. You dropped the heavy box in your hands gently on the ground and walked over to find Lucifer, as a duck, swimming happily in the tiny lake you had.
Rest was due by that time, you had been working from the morning after all. You sat on the side to watch him. Lucifer didn't even notice you.
Lucifer knew this was a bad time and he had to find a way to...get back to his realm to rule those sinners. He sighed looking upwards at the sky. He had rules and duties to those awful god forsaken people. Any time Lucifer was able to come to earth is when someone summoned him for their personal gain and he had to leave almost immediately. But right now, he didn't have to worry about work, worry about his kingdom. It can all go to hell.
And the fact that he was supposed to be... cartoon character. Lucifer half wondered if it was another cruel trick played by god to him. He always did get short end of the stick. So yeah! Maybe now god decided to tell him, 'hey, your whole life was a joke that we made to entertain humans!' he wouldn't honestly be surprised. Whatever happens, he just needs to see Charlie happy, that's all.
Another thought came into his mind. About (Y/n). That was a nice girl. She's probably going to end up in heaven if she hasn't done something wrong. Well, if she does end up in hell, he'll make sure to give her the royal treatment for taking care of him and his daughter. Not to mention, she was kind of ho.....
The duck made an eye contact with you. You waved at Lucifer and flashed him a smile.
Lucifer was at awe in your form. You wore a sleeveless black top which showed a fair amount of your arm's muscles alongside a short which ended just above your knees. Your hair was tied up which was now a mess. Your body was drenched in sweat as you waved at him and wiped the sweat of your forehead. A quack left his mouth as he quickly submerged his head into the water. Why did he found you so attractive?? Was it because of your build? You looked like you could easily manhandle him and carry him around.
You chuckled while looking at him at what you assumed he was playing around. 'welp, enough resting ' you stood up with a huff cleaning out dust from your clothes as you headed down again. There was still a lot of things that had to be done before evening.
After cleaning around the area, you found there was another washroom and kitchen there. Although they looked in less then usable condition. You felt like throwing up just looking at the state of the toilet. Odd stench's were coming from the room. But Niffty seemed excited to then ever at the good challenge. 'I guess it's a blessing to have her around '
You were all worned out by evening. Here you thought that taking days off from work would give you more time to relax. You sunk into the bathtub as the warm water soaked your body and helped you relax your muscles after a day's hard work.
' ahhh~ I feel so much more refreshed now..' you walked out while drying your hair with a towel. You found Pentious, Melody, Lucifer, Charlie and Husk was far too engrossed in playing Uno in your dining table. Things were getting pretty heated.
" Alastor you fucking told Charlie my cards! I fucking saw your mouth move!" He immediately looked at Charlie. "Don't worry ducky, I'm not mad at you."
" I have no idea whatever you are talking about ~ I'm not even playing the game~"
" Oh you bastard -"
" Husk stop adding cards in my deck!!"
" Sorry kiddo, I can't go easy on you just cause your (Y/n)'s cousin."
" Come on, please???"
"Um...u-uno?"
Every players eyes immediately turned to Pentious who only had one card left. Pentious shirked in fear under their hot gaze. Immediately everyone's fighting stopped as they began planning on sabotaging Pentious's winning together. You and Vaggie looked at each other and sighed, ready to break any fight if it occurred.
The game ended in midnight with Charlie sulking in a corner, Lucifer screeching in his cockatiel form, Melody enraged and Pentious looking at everyone scared. Husk had won. He really was good at playing cards.
Admist the chaos, Melody suddenly remembered something. " (Y/n), I totally forgot to tell you about something" you and several others looked at her wondering what it could be. " So I overheard my mom talking with yours the other day before coming here. They're apparently planning to hold a party on your upcoming birthday soon at your dad's place " you rolled your eyes, the last thing you needed in your life was going back to that wretched place.
" Also they're planning on holding your engagement ceremony in the party "
You spew out the water you were drinking at Husk's face.
A.N: Writing Lucifer is much more difficult then I expected lol. I hope I'm doing the guy some justice.
Again, sorry for taking so long to post these, college is kicking my ass..
Also buckle up guys. We're in for a wild ride from now on. Resting days are over.
Stay tuned (◠‿・)-☆

Damian took a deep breath, standing back to admire the setup one last time. The restaurant was transformed; warm string lights hung across the ceiling, and the tables were set with fresh flowers—your favorites. He’d flown in your family and closest friends to be here, and they’d been his silent co-conspirators for weeks, working from behind the scenes to help pull this off. Everything was in place for tonight, and it was time to go get you.
“You’ve done an incredible job,” your mom said, stepping up beside him with a warm smile. “She’s going to be absolutely thrilled, Damian.”
He gave her a grateful nod, a rare hint of nerves showing in his smile. “I just want everything to be perfect,” he admitted, glancing around one last time. “She deserves that.”
Your sister came over and gave his shoulder a light squeeze. “It’s perfect, trust me. She’ll love every bit of it.”
Damian chuckled, though he felt the butterflies starting to stir. It wasn’t the big matches, the huge crowds, or the intense stunts that got to him—it was this, something so much more personal. He was about to ask the person he loved most in the world to spend her life with him, and despite all his careful planning, he felt the weight of it in his chest. But this was the good kind of nerves.
“Good luck!” one of your friends called out, snapping a quick photo of him and flashing him a thumbs-up. “Go sweep her off her feet!”
He grinned, feeling his confidence return. This was the moment he’d been waiting for, the one he’d been planning from the very start. He exchanged a quick round of hugs with everyone, their encouragement following him out of the restaurant and into the cool evening air. As he made his way to the car, he could already picture the look on your face when you found out that everyone you loved was here, celebrating with you. All he had to do was get you to say “yes.”
Smiling to himself, Damian climbed into the car, running through the plan in his mind as he drove to meet you. He could almost hear the cheers, and feel the excitement in the air.
After leaving the restaurant where the party preparations were well underway, Damian made one quick stop on the way to your place—a small flower shop he’d spotted on the corner. He’d already been envisioning you with a vibrant bouquet in your hands, and he wanted tonight to start with something beautiful, a small token of how much he cherished you.
Stepping into the cozy shop, he picked out a mix of roses, lilies, and a few sprigs of eucalyptus, the arrangement coming together perfectly. The florist wrapped the bouquet in delicate paper, and Damian smiled, imagining the look on your face when he handed them to you.
But as he exited the shop, distracted by his own thoughts and the weight of the ring box in his pocket, someone brushed past him, jostling him. His heart sank as he watched, almost in slow motion, as the bouquet slipped from his hands and fell to the ground. Before he could scoop it up, a few bustling passersby accidentally stepped on the flowers, crushing the delicate petals.
He crouched down, surveying the damage. Most of the bouquet was a lost cause, the bright petals bruised and torn. Only one rose, red and mostly intact, remained in decent shape. He plucked it from the mess with a sigh, then gave a small, resigned chuckle. So much for the picture-perfect start.
When Damian arrived at your place, you opened the door with a smile, dressed and ready for what you thought was just a fun night out together. Damian’s gaze softened as he looked at you, all the nerves he’d been holding onto momentarily melting away.
“Heat, beautiful,” he murmured, his gaze intense as he took you in.
You couldn’t help the blush that crept up your cheeks at his words. You looked down, smiling, and thanked him, feeling a flutter of excitement you hadn’t expected on what you thought was just a simple date night.
“For you,” he said, holding out the rose with a slight grin. You laughed, accepting it and bringing it up to your nose to breathe in the soft, floral scent.
“I know it’s not much,” he said, scratching the back of his neck, “but… it was supposed to be a whole bouquet. Someone bumped into me, and the rest of them didn’t make it.”
You laughed softly, touched by the gesture all the same. “It’s perfect,” you replied, taking the rose from him and breathing in its faint, sweet scent. “Besides, you know I’m not a huge bouquet girl. One rose feels a lot more… us.”
Damian let out a relieved chuckle and reached out, brushing his hand along your cheek.
“You really are too good to me,” he murmured, his eyes filled with warmth. He took a step back, admiring you fully as he added with a grin, “And you look sexy as hell tonight.”
Blushing, you slid your arm through his, leaning into his side as he led you toward the car. The single rose resting in your hand felt like the perfect start to the evening, a small hint of the wonderfully imperfect surprises that awaited you both.
He slipped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you in close as he led you to the car. You fit perfectly against him, his warmth and easy confidence somehow soothing the butterflies in your stomach. “So, dinner and maybe drinks after?” you asked, teasing him with a small smile.
“That’s the plan,” he replied with a glint in his eye that hinted at something more, something just under the surface. But he kept his tone casual, not giving anything away.
Damian opened the passenger door for you, his hand lingering on yours as he helped you settle into the seat. You couldn’t help but notice the way he seemed both a little nervous and utterly enchanted, his gaze soft as he closed the door and walked around to the driver’s side.
Sliding into his seat, Damian turned to you with a smile, a glint of excitement sparking in his eyes as he placed a hand on the back of your seat and backed out of the driveway. As you eased into the rhythm of the drive, the single rose resting on your lap, the soft hum of the car and the quiet city lights streaming by outside felt both intimate and comforting.
The conversation was light, and playful—shared jokes, stories from the week, small moments that felt like their own kind of magic. There was something different in Damian’s energy tonight, a charged anticipation he couldn’t quite hide, and it made your heart flutter in response. Every so often, he’d steal a glance your way, his fingers drumming lightly on the wheel to a rhythm only he seemed to hear.
“You’re being extra mysterious tonight, you know that?” you teased, studying his profile with a raised eyebrow.
He chuckled, casting you a sideways smile. “Maybe I just want to surprise you for once,” he said, his voice low and warm. “Besides, I think you’re going to like where we’re headed.”
You smiled, leaning back into the seat as you looked out the window. The night felt full of possibility like something big was just on the horizon. And with Damian by your side, you knew it would be something unforgettable.
But just as you were about to ask for a hint about the night’s plans, a strange, rhythmic thump-thump-thump broke the comfortable silence, sending a jolt through the car.
You felt Damian’s grip on the wheel tightened as he glanced at the dashboard, his expression shifting in a heartbeat.
The low tire pressure light blinked on, and with a low sigh, Damian slowed the car, pulling over to the side of the road.
“Stay here,” he murmured, his brow furrowing as he stepped out to assess the damage.
You watched as he stepped out, his tall frame silhouetted against the faint glow of the headlights as he rounded to the back of the car. He crouched down, running his hand along the rubber tread. Sure enough, the back tire was completely deflated, a jagged piece of glass embedded in the sidewall. It wouldn’t be going anywhere soon.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath, grimacing as he realized just how bad the situation was. He’d barely make it a mile down the road, much less the distance to the spot he’d planned for the proposal. And there was no spare in the trunk—the realization hit him like a punch to the gut.
He straightened up, exhaling slowly as he weighed his options, before heading back to the driver’s seat. Sliding in, he reached for his phone, dialing AAA with a clenched jaw and an air of frustration that was rare for him.
You looked at him, concerned. “How bad is it?”
He hesitated, glancing up at you with a faint smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Pretty bad. No spare, and I don’t think we’re getting this thing to a gas station.” He exhaled, rubbing a hand over his jaw as the AAA line continued to ring. “They’ll get here, it’s just…gonna take a while.”
As the minutes ticked by with AAA’s hold music crackling over the phone, a light drizzle started to fall, pattering softly against the windshield. You could see Damian’s frustration starting to build, his usual calm composure slipping
Damian ended the call with AAA, his expression dark with frustration as he stepped out of the car, pacing under the steady drizzle that had quickly turned into a downpour. You could see the tension radiating off him, his shoulders tight and his brows furrowed, and you knew that his mind was racing with everything that had gone off course tonight.
You slipped out of the car, bracing yourself against the cold rain as you approached him.
“Hey,” you said softly, reaching for his arm. “It’s okay, Damian. We’ll get there when we get there.”
He stopped pacing and looked at you, his eyes flickering with a mixture of disappointment and frustration.
“You don’t understand,” he muttered, almost to himself. “I had this whole thing planned, and now…” He ran a hand through his soaked hair, his eyes drifting to the ring box in his pocket. “Now it’s all ruined.”
You shook your head, stepping closer as the rain streamed down between you.
“Nothing’s ruined,” you whispered, trying to meet his gaze. “I’m here with you, and that’s all that matters.”
He looked at you, truly looked at you, and in that moment, the rain, the broken-down car, the hours of planning he’d poured into tonight—none of it seemed to matter. Taking a steadying breath, he reached into his pocket, his fingers wrapping around the small box. This wasn’t the candlelit scene he’d imagined, but something about the imperfect reality of it made his heart pound even harder.
Damian dropped down on one knee, the rain splashing around him as he looked up at you with a gaze so full of love it took your breath away.
“This… this wasn’t the plan,” he admitted, his voice low and vulnerable. “I wanted everything to be perfect, to give you the proposal you deserve. But honestly, I don’t care how it happens anymore.” He held up the ring, his eyes never leaving yours. “All I know is that I want you by my side, no matter what. Will you marry me?”
Your heart skipped, and you felt a wave of joy so powerful it brought tears to your eyes. With a smile that held all the love you felt for him, you nodded. “Yes. A million times, yes.”
Damian slid the ring onto your finger, his hands steady despite the rain pouring down between you. You leaned in, pulling him up from his kneeling position as your lips met in a kiss that was both soft and electrifying, the rain wrapping around you like a private, cinematic backdrop.
As you finally pulled away, you kept close, smiling against his lips. He chuckled softly, shaking his head as he murmured, “I’m so sorry… I wanted this to be perfect. You deserve so much more.”
You laughed, looking up at the rain-soaked scene around you. “I don’t know,” you replied with a grin. “This is actually pretty romantic. Kind of like something out of The Notebook.”
He laughed, his tension easing as he pulled you close, resting his forehead against yours. The two of you stood there, soaked to the bone, yet utterly content, wrapped up in a moment that, despite all odds, had turned out to be just as perfect as he’d hoped.
With a grateful nod to the AAA driver, Damian gave the newly fixed tire one last look before guiding you back into the car. The two of you shared a quick glance, both completely soaked, but the energy between you was electric. The rain hadn’t dampened your spirits one bit; if anything, it had made the night even more memorable. Damian gave your hand a squeeze before starting the car, the ring on your finger glinting in the glow of the dashboard.
The drive to the restaurant wasn’t long, and before you knew it, Damian was pulling into the parking lot. The anticipation built as you approached the entrance, and he placed his hand on the small of your back, guiding you inside. Despite being soaked through, neither of you could stop smiling.
As you stepped into the restaurant, the warmth hit you, along with the quiet murmur of conversation that suddenly fell silent as friends and family noticed you standing there, dripping wet. Confusion flashed across a few faces as everyone took in your appearance. Damian’s friends exchanged glances, and your mom’s mouth fell open in surprise.
But before anyone could ask, you lifted your left hand with a wide grin, flashing the sparkling ring on your finger.
“He did it!” you announced, barely able to contain your excitement.
Damian wrapped an arm around your shoulders, his eyes bright as he added, “And she said yes!”
The room erupted in cheers, laughter, and applause, and within seconds, you were surrounded by friends and family, all eager to hug, congratulate, and hear every detail of what had clearly been an unforgettable proposal. Damian’s mom reached up to touch his damp hair, shaking her head with a chuckle as she took in your soaked outfits.
“We definitely didn’t plan on the flat tire or the downpour,” you admitted with a laugh, “but honestly… it was perfect.”
“Oh my gosh, what happened?” one of your friends asked, eyes wide as she looked between the two of you.
You recounted the whole story, from the unexpected flat tire to Damian pacing in the rain, to the beautiful, rain-soaked proposal on the side of the road. As you spoke, Damian’s hand stayed on your back, his warmth and presence grounding you as the group listened, hanging on every word. You could already tell this story was going to become a beloved memory, shared at family gatherings for years to come.
Your mom hugged you, beaming. “I can’t think of a more romantic proposal. Damian, you did good!”
Damian grinned, meeting your gaze with that familiar sparkle. “I couldn’t have planned it any better myself.”
The two of you exchanged a glance, sharing a moment of silent understanding. Despite the flat tire and the rain, the night had been more perfect than either of you could have imagined, and now, surrounded by friends and family, you knew this was only the beginning of a lifetime of perfectly imperfect memories together.

gn!reader, no physical descriptions but the fic states that reader doesn't drink often/is inexperienced with it and that they're a bit of a lightweight. the "very giggly but refuses to accept that they're inebriated" type of tipsy that's interesting to experience for the first time. fluff fluff fluff. also this should go without saying, but everyone including reader is over the legal drinking age.
I meant to post this back in august/september but never got around to finishing it. might as well do it now while I'm clearing out drafts!!
it's a bit of a rare sight to see you like this.
you don't drink often- a glass here or there when you're in the comfort of your apartment, or out at a restaurant with friends, but you're adamant about not going past that without some level of planning for it.
but tonight seems to be unfolding a bit differently than you anticipated. (he, however, saw this coming the second you got excited over how good your drink tasted and downed it on a nearly empty stomach.)
"I told you to eat something before we left," he said with a bit of a sing-songy tone. quite truthfully, he's never seen you this close to being drunk before and he's thoroughly amused with your behaviour.
you roll your eyes and lean back against your chair, watching your friend and her boyfriend on the dancefloor. "I'm not even drunk, baby, I barely had anything to drink. besides, she said she didn't like her drink and she offered me some!"
he snorts. the “barely anythings” in question were a lot stronger than you expected them to be. and it's true, your friend asked you to drink half of hers on top of your own so she wouldn't be forced to drink it all- apparently you were the only one at the table who actually enjoyed the taste of it.
the only issue is that the base of the drink was a type of juice he knows for a fact that you hate.
you would get tipsy trying to help out a friend, he thinks fondly.
his heart warms at your generosity, and also at the way you're now staring up at the ceiling with an analytical look on your face, like you're trying to solve a difficult math problem.
"y'know, I'm actually so fine," you seem to conclude.
he chokes on his soda, trying not to laugh at you. "yeah? so you could walk from here to the wall without stumbling even once, no issues?"
you try to match his gaze, but you see his raised eyebrow and dissolve into a fit of giggles, leaning forward to rest your head on the table. you've been doing that a lot tonight. you suddenly sit up straight, very serious look on your face. "okay, but to be fair, am I ever able to do that?"
he shakes his head with a slight smile. "okay, fair enough."
you frown and press your palm to your head. "ughhh, why am I so dizzy?" you whine. "it won't go away."
he quickly leans over and steals a few french fries from your friend's nearly empty plate, feeding them to you slowly. having a full belly doesn’t seem to be helping your state, but it’s the first thing he thinks of. "you wanna know what I think?"
you nod and rest your head against his shoulder.
"I think you're definitely not sober, sweetheart. despite what you're saying."
you look up at him with narrowed eyes. "fine... maybe just a bit... can we go home now?"
he thinks that's the most logical thing you've said since finishing dinner.
your friend must see him helping you stand up and grabbing your coat, because she quickly steps off the dance floor to assess the situation. "hey, are you guys leaving?"
your boyfriend nods. "yeah, I think I'd better get them home."
she takes in how you're leaning against him, eyes shut in an attempt to stop the temporary vertigo, and shares an amused look with your pillar before hugging you both goodbye. "get home safe, you two. call me if you need anything!" and then she's back on the dancefloor, her boyfriend waving from where he's stood.
"alright, baby, let's go."
you nod and try to lead the way, before reaching out behind you with a small "oh."
he's steadying you in an instant and making sure you're okay.
"c-can I just hold onto you until we get to the car?" you ask sheepishly.
he snorts and crouches down a bit to pick you up. You're definitely able to walk with his support, but quite honestly, he'd use any excuse to have you in his arms. "I wouldn't let you walk on your own right now even if you insisted."
you direct a dreamy sigh towards him. "you're so good to me, baby."
he's thankful you're more focused on the city's nightlife with a dazed expression than the pink blooming on his face.

yippee for rushed endings!!! I definitely had more planned for this fic but I can't remember exactly what those plans were LOL
i got tipsy/mildly drunk on vacation for the first time and it got me thinking about who'd be best at handling you while you’re inebriated. this is just a silly little fic *partially* based on true events. "I'm actually so fine" might've been my most repeated phrase of the evening. (I was in fact not fine)

Wholeheartedly, wildest group I've ever had. Tears of laughter. A son of portuguese immigrants in France and his brazilian wife who spoke zero english and yet bought the entire table extra chorizos and wine. A very nice couple from Wisconsin who asked me so much about growing up here and whose husband had heart problems but not enough to convince the Portuguese to not offer him more wine! A chinese couple fascinated to learn about the chinese community in portugal. An italian lady who spoke french and her cuban husband both living in geneva who I spoke with at least two different languages. "Los portugueses en geneva solo beben super bock y usan camisetas de Porto". And finally the two irish lads who challenged me on my very assured statement that I can pronounce any irish name correctly only for me to fuck it up with the simplest name imaginable, but nonetheless gave me 20 irish pounds and several hugs for me next trip to Ireland. Amazing people. Will NEVER forget this one

Dysprosium, Mary Soon Lee
dysprosium, AN 66, is a silvery-white rare earth metal. its name is derived from the greek dysprositos, meaning “hard to get at”, owing to the difficulty in separating and isolating this rare earth element. dysprosium is used to measure neutron flux, to fuel reactors, and to activate phosphors. terfenol-d is a magnetorestrictive alloy, meaning that it changes shape when a magnetic field is applied, and is used to manufacture underwater acoustic systems.
jason “robo” robertson, dallas stars #21 for @simmyfrobby’s nhl periodic table poems <3

DP X DC: A Minor Drinking Problem
Phantom is a relatively new member of the JLA, but it's been a few months, and things are settling in well. He's shy and polite but is a master of the snark with villains.
Before a big mission, the all hands on deck kind, everyone is talking about scars and the crazy stories behind them to distract from the coming fight. Danny, finally feeling like he can join in the conversation with all these adult heroes, pulls off his right glove to show a pretty gnarly scar on the back of his wrist. “I got this one when I fought a guy from the Revolutionary War a few weeks ago! Didn't think he'd charge me with a bayonet.” He shares a couple more stories and scars, but only the ones that he can easily show off.
Because of stories like that and some historical depictions of Phantom from different time periods, they think he's this ancient and powerful immortal that just looks like a teenager, it wouldnt be the first time. He's powerful enough to go toe to toe with Superman, so there's no way he's actually a kid. He even sometimes has the haunted, world weary eyes that their most hardened members only get after experiencing too much. Danny, being our lovable, obliviously dense idiot, has not realized that they think he's an ancient being.
After the mission concludes -it was a rough one-, the JLA celebrate their victory with a couple drinks back at the watch tower. Danny is understandably uncomfortable with this whole situation and keeps asking, “Are you sure I should be here?” They reassure him it's fine as they pass around beers, which Danny politely declines several times. Danny eventually sees this as the perfect chance to pad his blackmail folders on his inebriated coworkers.
Anyway, as the night goes on, they have a good time, but Phantom still hasn't gotten a drink like the rest of them, and Green Lantern (or hero of your choice) really wants their shy friend to come out of his shell. So, he slams an open beer bottle on the coffee table in front of Phantom. “Come on Phantom! Let loose a little. Celebrate!”
“Dude! What the hell?! I'm 16! That's illegal!” Phantom squeaks in shock.
“We don't care how old you were when you died. It's how long you've been a ghost that counts.” Flash slings an arm around Danny's shoulders from where he’s sat next to him on the couch. Flash can't get drunk, but he also thinks it would be fun to see their uptight new member drunk.
“That's even worse! You'd be giving alcohol to a two year old!” Phantom is horrified that his coworkers are so casually breaking the law.
“But you said you fought in the Revolutionary War this morning!” Green Lantern said with his eyebrows knit in confusion.
“No, I said I fought someone from the Revolutionary War. As in, the ghost of someone from the revolutionary war!”
“You can't pull that on us. There's murals and stuff of you from thousands of years ago.” The Flash waves off with a laugh.
Phantom’s finger presses painfully hard into Flash’s chest. “I do not need to explain time travel to you of all people. My mentor hates you, and I'm STILL sent on missions constantly to clean up your messes.” Phantom's clear and low. Flash liked it better when he was shouting and not staring him down like a predator with narrowed eyes.
(This random idea popped into my head. It made me laugh, so I thought you might, too. Here you go!)
