So the Kryptonian naming culture seems to have this thing where boys just have the family name but girls have their father's name then the family name (Eg. Superman is Kal El while Supergirl is Kara Zor-El, Zor El being her father). So he's my question, if Superboy Conner Kent/Kon El had been born a girl or turned out to be trans what would her surname be? Who's her daddy? They are a clone of superman with Kex Luthor's DNA also in there. Does the clone thing mean technically her parental line goes back to Superman's parents, so Kon Jor-El (feel there is an argument for this since superman's parents the Kent's take Kon in not Superman himself implying a sibling dynamic on the tree) or is it Kon Kal-El because there's also an argument Superman is the father, or are we in Kon Lex-El or even Kon Lex-Luthor territory with this? Or even Kon John-Kent?

Superboy being a boy means he can just be given the El and Kent names to signify being in the family without specifically saying how he fits in, but if this situation happened with a girl they would have to make a specific call in terms of paternal parentage.

#intrestingly the think of surnames as just a way of saying son of or daughter of was a thing in a lot of real languages too #with the scottish surnames beguining with Mac litrally coming from Son of Name #and before they became locked in as just the family name it would be unique to each generation #and girls wouldn't be Mac-anything they would be Nic because they were daughter of not son of #this is the case for a lot of languages i just know scottish the best #really funny as a gaelic speaker when people with Mac surnanes just get called Mac like you're litrally just calling him Son #Superman #Supergirl #Superboy #Kryptonian #Kon El #Kal El #Kara Zor-El #I often doodle their family tree in the kryptonian letters and always wonder if on a kryptonian tree Lois Lane should be written as #Lois Sam-Lane #but that would ruin the LL thing #but equally if you write the tree in English including English naming traditions then Superman's bio mum's name wouldn't be LL it'd be LV #so the only way for both to be LL is to have both naming cultures in the tree #I'm supposed to be working right now why does my brain do this 😂

Marazhai being Trueborn is worth it if nothing else for the fucked-up sibling drama he has with Yremeryss. She decided to take him being born extremely personally, but also, he's her only Dracon so she's not super incentivized to kill him. So they've just been stuck in a cycle of sabotaging each other for who knows how long, and at least until you come along it seems like she'd been winning.

He fucked up a raid? She has her haemonculus torture Low Gothic into his brain to teach the other Kabalites a lesson. He tries to have her usurped as Archon in front of their liege's Kabal? She lets the Wyches take his skin and make him fight in the arena to earn it back. And even though last one was bad enough he wants her soul trapped over it, he's more mad about the status loss than the "making him earn his skin back" part.

And then later you can ask him about why haven't they killed each other sooner and beyond just being too scared cautious to do it himself, he's also like, "its a bonding thing, and trying to torment other people would be boring so :/" which is probably true but also he doesn't seem to have many stories of getting one up on her so...?

I was just rewatching an old Ranboo and Technoblade VOD from way back just after Doomsday, and I don't think it is possible for anything to be funnier than Technoblade and Ranboo both mutually turning into bundles of social anxiety and dancing around each other

the great thing about dutch rock band focus is that it never stops being funny to me that their most successful song ever is hocus pocus (by focus)

#truly a happenstance that makes it seem like they came together for the recording of that one (1) song #and picked a rhyming name just for the hell of it. even though hocus pocus only appears on the second album #(not the first. the first only had tracks called focus. by focus. not NEARLY as funny)#so yk. this is sort of like if U2 were mostly known for a song called choo choo. if nirvana had done the mahna mahna muppets song #and they were essentially ONLY known to the wider public for the mahna mahna song in spite of recording it in the 70s #and being around literally to this day. which weirdly fits as a comparison because the lyrics of mahna mahna and hocus pocus #make roughly an equal amount of sense!#which is not to say they don't both go hard. of course they do #*

I must say that lately I've been too addicted to animal crossing to really have time to do anything else but one good piece of news is that I finally made some real progress on my book documenting my experience of seeing TMBG show recap post because I finished describing the pre-show stuff and the first set yesterday so I might finish it this week. I hope. The only problem is that it's already 9 pages long so in a way I'm not joking about how I could turn this into a book instead. And it's not my fault that the stage banter was so good that I'm probably going to end up transcribing like half of it at least.
