Wonbin is not an active "physically" participant in this but more like a passive one. It is on his mind and his priority atm. It seems there was some sort of event that has happened very recently like a loophole or opportunity to take advantage of the situation and begin the process of thus "breakdown" and it had a lot to do with contractual or moral obligation on SM's end. There is a lack of defense able to shield them. The woman we have discussed playing a role in this is actively creating the environment necessary to proceed with a plan. If Wonbin is doing anything, he is assisting behind the scenes with this intellectually and with regard to the feelings of the people he wants to protect right now. He may also be more snarky than usual or talk back. Mentally- he is busy.

thanks to my post abt the irony of trent & dave being labeled ‘normal guys’ and being definitely not normal, that got me thinking abt their dynamic.

i feel like they’d be great flatmates, buddies, that kind of bond. despite their differences in personality, their lifestyles and even those personality differences help more than hinder their friendship.

trent’s easygoing ‘cool & calm’ nature contrasts rlly well with dave’s more upright, judgmental one. trent can help dave see things (and ppl) differently while staying under the fire; dave can help trent take proper charge by getting him to realize who or what should be prioritized. (or even trent helps tap into his lowkey ‘take charge’ side whenever he drags dave away from an obsession.)

dave being a germaphobe and a neat-freak can work mostly well with trent’s ocd. i know in canon his ocd is described as numerical and nothing much more, but given how badly canon fucked him over, i like to think that trent’s deal with the number 9 is still there but it’s prominent in a lot more aspects of life (like how many exhales is enough, how many times to check the front doors lock, etc.)

dave gets it, he understands a lot of what trent goes through and feels, and he tries in his own way to show some solidarity. trent doesn’t judge his desire for neatness and he tries to keep that in mind so as not to get anything too dirty and he makes sure to help dave with his panic attacks bc he knows firsthand handling them alone constantly is a painful experience; dave doesn’t judge his ocd and interest in the number 9

(but dave does judge other ppl heavily whenever they judge them. trent gets quite amused by this—and endeared that there’s someone in his corner. he hasn’t ever met someone who’s supportive, let’s him do his thing, and understands parts of what he’s feeling)

they both have shitty love endeavors which is smth they bond over (likely while in a vulnerable position). they both try to matchmake too—it doesn’t usually go well

their family histories and childhood/adolescence get brought up last. both of them are a fan of suppressing/repressing until they either consciously or subconsciously don’t remember it. but in the end they do discuss it and it becomes yet another thing they bond over and understand each other about. the idea of being ‘normal’ when they clearly are not is smth that they both need to come to terms with—it takes a while.

trent helps dave get out more, do stuff that expands his horizons (like taking him to a drama brothers concert). (dave comes to him first over anyone else abt his sexuality crisis; trent talks him through it patiently, bringing up his own sexuality revelation)

i can see their dynamic as being temporary flatmates at first. or whatever it may be, their bond was initially meant to be a temporary “just for the time being” situation. but then overtime it becomes just as much or more permanent than their other friendships. they can get v domestic (even like cuddles, leaning against each other on the sofa, them just plopping their heads down on the other's lap ready to complain abt smth or other (or in trent's case, talk abt his newest song idea) and stuff like that platonically once they cross that bridge bc it’s relaxing and calming), their vibes contrast nicely, they help each other thrive in an environment of solidarity. just wholesome stuff bc given what both of them must’ve dealt with to make them the way they are, they must not have had a load of wholesomeness in the past

Whereas Lewis has more of a tendency to hide his feelings. He also talks a lot about how he as a child often felt like he wasn’t allowed to show emotions esp to his dad (natal capricorn sun stuff). And he is now unlearning that and tries to allow himself to be vulnerable. Also in his interviews he always has this “positivity” approach which is imo just a facade and even a bit toxic. Like in his most recent post race after he had a shit day he literally says “Imma stay positive 😀” and rarely ever addresses what the matter is. Idk if it is his Scorpio rising or the overall water influence in his chart. I feel like in private and intimate or close relationships that might make him probably even a bit passive aggressive.

Mischaracterization in the CCCC fandom: a yapsesh (alternative title: Erm... What the Gore is Going On?)

So. One thing I've noticed in the CCCC fandom is this weird fixation on gore, torture, violence, etc. Usually a level of graphic content that makes your average horror flick look... pretty tame!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy horror! I even think a horror story based around psychological conflict similar to CCCC could work well!

But is it just me, or has this fandom COMPLETELY lost track of what the characters are like in the source material?

Like. Let's be real. Nowhere in the album does Soul do gruesome surgeries on Mind, nowhere does Mind go ripping people to shreds like Doomguy, et cetera. The closest thing we have to an implication of violence is what most of us call the "Juno incident"- as even "tines stabbed through eyes" is clearly a metaphor with the next line: "that the sides have condemned."

I feel the biggest victim of this mischaracterization is Soul. In the album he's... kind of a victim, really. He toughs out being dismissed and fought over and pushed aside and outright dehumanized for so, so long. Are we seriously just... going to characterize him based solely on his lowest point in TSE? Spring and a Storm and Mucka Blucka are also songs where he's present- along with his presence in Just Apathy that the fandom seems to outright deny to keep their characterization of him as some violent, abusive monster. (Which, again, is quite literally never alluded to! He's honestly kind of a victim, if anything!)

He's not emotionless. If you believe this, you've fallen for his stoic facade. All of his songs are just. So full of so much rage. Maybe even a little bit of grief and sadness and fear, masked by said rage. He isn't some emotionless robot- (Heart calls him an automaton as an insult, but that's another rant.) and honestly it feels like such a disservice to such an interesting character with so much unexplored depth to portray him as such.

Heart. Oh boy. Where do I start. Heart what did they do to you.

Heart is the emotional side, yes, but that isn't just some... smol innocent uwu baby who cries all the time. Emotions aren't small and cute and timid. They're INTENSE and PASSIONATE and EXHAUSTING. Strong emotions leave you so, so drained, good OR bad. This is so much more interesting than portraying him as some "uwu hai dere!!" type of character. Which is nowhere in the album.

Whole is hardly even a character. Soul worshipping and praying to whole is fanon.

This fandom's weird obsession with creating shock gore and one-upping each other in a violence competition has spiraled pretty far out of control, and it's honestly crazy. How do you go from an album about internal conflict to violence that would make even the cast of Resident Evil cringe? Brah.

Final notes uhhh. Soul is a victim who got pushed to his limit, not an evil heartless abuser. Mind is angry and unstable and hurt, not some emotionless robot. Heart is the entire emotional spectrum, not some innocent baby. Ok i . I think that's all. Have a good one

your analysis are fun, thank u for answering! sorry if i keep sparring, i just like talking abt it and i liked ur take, even if i kinda disagree. that analysis of remus' "blind devotion" is completely fanmade —for example, remus had no trouble refusing a teacher's position until dumbles offered him wolfsbane in exchange, sth that shows more how desperate remus was for a respite of his condition than anything else— and it's set upon a flawed premise: remus isn't blind to his friends' flaws. he does see them and he knows they're wrong, and it's implied that he even called them out sometimes and he did reign them in a bit. i doubt he'd do the same to dumbledore, but that's not out of blindness, but out of respect for dumbledore and an intimate knowledge of what blind mistrust (which is what harry tends to do and what remus is answering to when he talks about trusting snape bc dumbledore trusts him) can lead to in a war. ultimately, people tend to criticize remus for not going against dumbledore when there was no reason for him to do so (he didn't know of dumbledore's more questionable plans and people's dislike of dumbledore tends to get in the way of how he'd be perceived in-universe without that book 7 reveal), especially in the context of a war that dumbledore's leading. how he acts regarding dumbledore is no different from slughorn, the weasleys, the guests at the wedding in book 7 or any other character, regardless of his personal history with the man. not to say it wouldnt be interesting to explore, but it's not something that defines his character or the choices he makes (as shown in the fact that remus only being allowed to attend hogwarts bc of dumbles is barely mentioned in the books while we have hagrid to exemplify what blind devotion towards dumbledore because of what he did for someone looks like).

I suppose fanon does have a way of influencing, I guess i've read too much fan-fiction. I can see how I have mixed up respect and blindness, respect makes more sense. Whereas with Hagrid, who is shown through to have a massive amount of respect and nothing bad to say about Dumbledore because he let him stay at Hogwarts.

The friends thing, he knew what they were doing was bad, I did not mean to imply otherwise, more that it would make it harder for him to speak against them. I cannot remember how much in canon Remus reigned them in, but I think it is stated somewhere that Remus couldn't or didn't want to do much in regards to it? Like the Sirius thing, he didn't want to admit about him being a animgus (or whatever) because that would have broken the trust Dumbledore gave him.

The Dumbledore hate train seems to have a way on twisting things, and it is true that Remus would have had no way of evening know about some of his, let's say dubious, plans.

The emphasis on letting Remus join Hogwarts is definitely explored more in fanon, but I still think it holds weight. Remus would have respected him a lot more for it, and I think it would have meant a whole lot to him and influenced him.

It is true that others opinions and thoughts may have influenced my opinions and how I remember the books, so thank you for bringing actual factual evidence from the books, it's been awhile.

I do think that Dumbledore would have had influence on Remus, but not at all negative or to slight him against. As you said, everyone trusted Dumbledore, held him in high regards.

I think it is the Dumbledore hate that emphasis's these flaws that people like to talk about, and maybe exaggerate them.

I agree with you in some places, and disagree in others.

Taeyong is not a vocalist, so he can't be a person to be "afraid" of. To begin with, Doyoung doesn't have untouchable idols of his own. He has artists he loves and respects, but not those he worships. He asked (the) Taeyeon to future (who is way ahead of Taeyong in years of experience, solo works and vocal provess), approached Lucy band members, he got (the) Kangta to give him a song, and said to (the) Kenzie that he wants to be the one who will sing the last song he will create in her career (very arrogant of him, heh, they are that close then). Here a producer who has known Doyoung since trainee days said how Do came to supervise and make corrections with post-productions of songs.

I think it is about "going solo", having an album made wholly by yourself. Mark wrote lyrics for an existing song. A song Doyoung picked and approached his favourite to ask to do a collab. A song with Tae will be Taeyong's vision, Taeyong's song. Not to mention, Tae was very busy with his own solo albums. There was probably no time to write a song from scratch, and one that perfectionist Do will like. Tae has a lot of experience as a song-writer, a rapper, but little as composer. The sound he goes for, his team of producer friends, do very different genres from Doyoung.

I agree that Doyoung pushes Taeyong for independance. He listened to Tae's songs and supported him, but he evaded giving more than "don't worry, do you". Tae said himself he is indecisive and needs opinions of others, their help. Do was always "throwing a puppy into the water to swim on its own" with him. I agree that Do didn't want any judgement from an experienced songwriter/producer, to not get more worries than he aleady had. And, looking at how Tae always praised Do's writing and singing, I don't think Do would believe him, in Tae being objective and not biased (ah, you are saying nice things because you are my friend). So in the end, Tae's help won't be of help. Again, Tae was in the middle of his own comeback and promotion when Do was wrapping up his album. Doyoung prepared his first solo album as a package deal, all the songs are a part of one "youth" theme (a book). I see why he would like for his friends, especially Tae (who he respects as a musician, yes), to listen to the final perfected result.

The closer people are to Do, the more harsh he can be with them. Doyoung letting Johnny listen to some songs before the debut isn't a sign of how close they are, actually. It's more about Do not being able to refuse this time, afraid to offend (after he did in the past with the muscial, Johnny always complained about Do not telling him things, not giving him tickets), or, as you said, wanting the verbal support but not being afraid Johnny will shake his resolve/opinion in any way (as JN not being high on the totem pole as an artist). Johnny is a good cheerleader, he genuinely supports his friends, is proud of them, a sertified Do's fanboy. He is a people person, he knows how to find words. Other members also mention it.

The boyfriend factor. Is also a good reason for Tae's absence on the album. Mark is in the child category. MarkDo is not TaeDo, there is no co-dependance, Mark is not Jae's rival.

One day Taeyong will win, we will get TaeDo duet, I'm positive. Either as a single, or on the second album.

I feel like GRRM's update for the first time confirms that not all will be the same in the ending as we have seen on screen. Bc what else can we make abt the deaths? Who died we cared abt? Rickon, Jamie, Cersei, Daenerys, Theon (oh, Euron too, lol). Any of these surviving changes the story significantly, as well as any death that we haven't seen on screen (looking at you, Tyrion!) On the positive side, I think he’s making progress because he’s thinking about the reception of the book and I definitely felt like this was his effort to get the audience hyped. However, I’m doubtful this is as new/exciting as we want it to be as far as it giving more information.

To me, the two posts sound fairly similar. Even the discussion of the ending feels about the same to me. Now he says “Some things will be the same. A lot will not.” Back in 2019 he said:

I understand why people want to latch onto “Characters will live! Others will die! A lot will be different!!!” But I suppose I’m hesitant to think he means what we want him to mean because even today he was still saying this:

He prefaced all the talk about characters living/dying and when with this comment, so I don’t think he’s changed his mind about what his endpoints are or even the major beats. How things will transpire, sure. But those important moments he’s had in his head for years/decades? The things he has told us time and again over the course of years that he told D&D? The things the fandom wants to believe are strictly their fuckery? Like say, Stannis burning Shireen, King Bran, Dark Dany? I still think that’s all from him. The endpoints? I still think those are his. That may just be my pessimism speaking, and I am certainly not trying to persuade anyone to agree, I just read that and thought...this is (almost) the same post.

My thought about ASOIAF characters not making it to the end who did in GoT was Cersei, which @kazetoame said as well:

I already see people hoping Dany survives, but it could be someone like Melisandre, we could see Benjen again, Edd could survive, Missandei could live, I reblogged a post suggesting Selmy. I know he doesn’t mean it badly, he’s just doing his job and trying to help the shows set in his world succeed, but it seems cruel to bring up this idea in such vague terms when we all know the fandom at large only cares about Dany surviving so they will take it as the confirmation of that. I am sure that isn’t the person he’s thinking of. Fingers crossed Rickon lives! And if he does, a lot of fans have pointed out that Sansa should be Robb’s heir as she is older, that progress means less sexism and that the eldest regardless of gender should inherit, so I’m not sure that Rickon surviving has to change her ending. I’m not counting on it, but it’s nice to think about. My point is, Martin can be honest, but his honesty still leaves a lot of room for us to deceive ourselves. I’m trying really hard not to.

So, to me, the post felt similar to what he wrote after the GoT finale only a little more focused in his desire to hype people for his books and convince them TWOW is still worth reading. He knows how the end of GoT went over, and I think that’s part of why he’s again trying to point out that there will be stuff we don’t know in his books, and he really did spend a while emphasizing that. Yay! But I also think there are reasons other than just trying to be nice to us that leads him to make these comments, and I’ve already seen articles pop up saying he is reassuring fans his series will end differently...and I just don’t know that that is an accurate reflection of what he was trying to say. There will be a lot of differences in the particulars, I know that. But will the things we really care about be dramatically different? Sadly, I’m still doubtful.

in chips life, he’s p much always been on that down hand and trying to catch up in some way. so, like… idk it makes sense to me then that his immediate instinct would be to cling to the upper hands he gets and not let go. giving up the one advantage you have when you FINALLY have it is hard, even if it is the best and most advantageous plan. but idk how much he was like… really thinking through those advantages. it was a stressful fucking environment so going more off first instinct kind makes sense

(arguably, he was for once Not thinking in the immediate consequences of the “we are surrounded and going to Fucking Get Shot” and instead the advantages of future blackmail/if kuba revived himself or whatever. which, frankly, is funny as hell. chip tries to think abt the future outcomes of his decisions for the first time ever and immediately takes an L)

● So talking abt Ruki there's no doubt which judgemental functions he has, but with perceptive functions I have some problems...

● Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not into saying his dom function is a perceptive function, because any of N or S show kinda rarely...

● But what we actually have. From his flashbacks (pre orphanage) it's seen how low his Se is. He doesn't really fare about food and physical things, he even judges some girl for jumping in cold water to pick coins from there... He was like:" I'd never be like that, even if I'm also that pathetic." He's not interested in surviving "physically", only mentally, I guess. So Se is here, but it's low asf => +to INTJ

● Moving on. What about Si??? Well... Si operates the experience, attention to small details (again, material, aka physical) and collects such ⬆️ information. What do we have with Ruki? He often refers to past experience, when tries to say that people are liars (when Yui treated him kindly without any mercenary intentions, he didn't get it, because in his own past experience things didn't work like this, people were cruel and abandoned him.) So, he has experienced it, now he uses this knowledge, everything seems to be logical, BUT. Ruki clearly realizes that he doesn't learn on his mistakes. Yes, he gained some lessons of life in the past, but what now? He treats Yui just like those servants, calling her livestock, as if he ignores the reason why he was "punished". I mean, literally, he says :" everything what's happened to me is a punishment for my sins (aka violence aka ignorance). Is that okay, that a Si dom treats his experience as something non essential? Really? Also, he doesn't seemed to be detailed-oriented person, when he was discussing the escaping plan from the orphanage with others, he didn't really pay enough attention to things, which could have helped them escape successfully... He was only about "never stop, run as fast as you can" bla bla. That was a rather maket of a plan than a plan lmao... So, I really doubt about any Si here

● Well Te and Fi are obvious here, and since they stand on the same positions in these 2 types, I'm not gonna dig into them.

So, Ne. And here's the showtime starts. There's a small ray of hope to Ne inf, because Ruki was considering the imaginary situations "if I was born non human, I'd be free" bla bla, A LOT. As if he really regrets the missed chances, lost opportunities, which had never existed then.

If you're a Ne dom user, therefore you have Si inferior, and you about to regret something from the past, feeling smth like : "ohhh I could do it in the other way and the consequences would be different", but if you're Si dom with Ne inf, then you're gonna to see a lot of ways of solving the problem, but you'll be scared of this huge number of possibilities. It'll distract and scare you, and Ruki is just regrets about the situation, which could never happened to him but he's dreaming about it... This kinda looks like Ne inf? => + to ISTJ?

● But now I'm gonna discuss his Ni... Honestly, it doesn't shine bright as the dominant function (aux seems to beat it haha), but Ni, just like Si, can refer to past experience but be more abstract and intuitive (obviously). I won't say Ruki talks with metaphors (like Laito, for instance) or uses a lot of images, but sometimes there are small evidences of it. He calls himself "snake", also called Eve the "Goddes", referring to her abilities of creating the new race, payed attention to blue sky as a symbol of freedom and thinks in abstract ways. Like, he was talking about the necessity of being reborn, the cycle he could live again and again, as if he's circled into his own sins and can't escape, but why? He just understands it and can't explain, like its his fate and he has some missiom. Like Ni sometimes just understands the connection of events, but can't explain. I'd say he's like that. When he was a child he had already thought about those "reborn"-themed things, he was seeing the future lmao => +to INTJ

Another small conclusion INTJ>ISTJ. It looks like INTJ characters are the ones who have the actual urge to action, and ISTJ are more static, they're mostly happy about the hierarchy in which they are. That's why (but maybe it's a freaking myth just like statement that all INFPs are crybabies) INTJs are more innovative, they go against the system, because they don't like it. And Ruki wasn't happy with orphanage life, so he chose action here. Again, it looks like ISTJ are more cautious and grounded.

And another thought. Idk, for me Ruki seems to be a character with Te dom function, not the auxiliary, because I see him as a pure revenger with his main idea of take a revenge to world... But then he's gonna be ENTJ, Te Ni Se Fi , but it looks ew because of Fi inf and Se tret, his Fi is much more clear than Se, so INTJ totally wins

i think the best they've gotten is kurogane's arm. there isn't any connotation of inhumanity bc he's using a mechanical prosthetic (as in a lot of cyberpunk), it's a symbol of wholly positive development for his character (one could say that kurogane isn't a truly "whole" person until he cuts off his arm, and his relationship with fai is made "whole" again by fai getting him the prosthetic), but it also isn't perfect. it doesn't fit totally right, causing him some pain - which fai, at the conclusion of his character arc, can casually remind him that he shouldn't lie about being in pain. the arm is a needed prosthetic for kurogane, and this prosthetic is a symbol of how kurogane has healed from and left behind his trauma (as part of the larger metaphor of kurogane's arm & his scar). it is not a total fix-it buy it is positive. kurogane gave up things to save fai, and those sacrifices that he chose to make were important and had lasting effects on him. he can't go back to the way he was before. and that's fine. it's good.

this post isn't meant to be a thesis about this topic btw. i don't use a prosthetic so i am also not a person to be an informed authoritative voice on this topic. i just consider disability & ableism in media often bc it's something ive learned a lot about. i was just thinking about kurogane's arm in terms of disability (because i was thinking about the ableism inherent in the darth vader suit metaphor). i mentioned the eye stuff bc i think that if you talk abt disability in clamp manga then you have to mention the eyepatch-wearing elephant in the room
