Download 11/22/22
This will probably be the only update for a while. You can probably imagine why. I only finished up what I stopped doing while my Switch is charging. (I’d play it docked but my husband’s asleep right now.)
Download page
Story:
+Finished Ollie’s pre-marriage schedule. (I actually had it done during the last update, but I forgot to say it.)
+Finished Jayce’s pre-marriage schedule.
+Started on everybody’s post-marriage schedule. (They’ll all have the same morning and night schedule, so I finished those right after the other. The “night” schedule is just them sleeping.)
+Finished doing something with the spouses.
Glitches and oversight fixes:
-Souma asks for a Jigglypuff for his trade, except I forgot to replace the Pokemon that the game will look for in your party for trade. Instead of Jigglypuff, it was Mareep. I fixed that.
-I was 1 digit off when I was making it possible to get different Deerling forms depending on the season. I did it correctly this time so the different forms should actually come up, now.
Pokemon:
-I made the Luvdisc forms into actual forms, so they (should) all share the same National Dex number now. In their place I added some Pokemon. I know what doing so will do, but I don’t really care. Think of this as a bonus for playing the game before this build- If you already had any of the different color Luvdisc before this build, you now have different Pokemon. Much stronger, fully evolved Pokemon. Pokemon like,
-Ursaluna is now in the game, except it’s a regional variant. So now it’s only a normal type. It’s basically just a bigger Ursaring. But it’s much easier to get one- just give Ursaring a Moon Stone to evolve it into an Ursaluna. It still has the same ability options that it has in Legends.
-Basculegion is also now in the game as a variant. It’s only a water type now. You can evolve it by using a Water Stone.
I worked on these after Violet and Scarlet came out so I basically did the bare minimum (stats, abilities, etc) without making them act like they’re stone evolution Pokemon, so I might work on them more after I’m done with Violet.
There will be more Pokemon like this in the future. The only reason why I stopped here is because between the new game and the holidays I have no idea how long the next update will take.
Blog:
-Added Ursaluna and Basculegion to this and this page.
-Added the “Move sets and abilities” page to the directory.
Graphics:
-I made the double bed’s pillows exposed. There’s a reason for this.
-I recolored (with the hue slider) Basculin’s shiny sprites.
-I made the Luvdisc forms’ shinies either more or less saturated. The “lower” the shiny level is, (as far as the level of hearts go) the less saturated it is. So “gray” is the least saturated. “Red” doesn’t look very different aside from the white parts. (Like the cheeks and lips.) I did this in case you get a shiny Luvdisc during the Luvdisc festival so you can tell which one you have.
-I also made the red Luvdisc slightly less saturated so it’s not so... Well, saturated.
+I made all of the sprites needed for the spouse’s last thing on their schedule. (And then I implemented that last thing.)
Misc:
-I very slightly made the farm’s map bigger.
-I never really noticed this before, but I made everybody who got their first Pokemon from Unova choose Tepig. (Besides Esmaralda, who got Munna.) So I switched Ollie’s first to be Oshawott (I don’t believe that she ever talks about her Pokemon?) and Jayce’s to Snivy. (He mentioned Tepig at least once, but I changed that.) I chose to change those two and not Rebecca’s because she does actually battle with Tepig in one of her events.
-I also switched Jayce’s “second starter” to Kurusu since he and Ollie both chose Happa, and he’s more likely to care about balance. I didn’t switch anybody else’s since I chose Kurusu for most of them on purpose. (Their reasons mostly being “I can surf with this Pokemon,” since they live so close to the beach.)

Krenko’s Guide to Pokemon: Scyther Line
Who wants a hug?
DESIGN:
Scyther is one of the coolest creatures ever designed. It’s clearly modeled after the praying mantis, but instead of spiked forearms, it just has swords for arms. Swords for arms are awesome. Scyther is awesome. Scyther has always been awesome. Scyther will always be awesome. And you know what else is awesome? Ninjas. And according to the Pokedex, Scyther has ninja skills. Sword-arm-ninja-bug is the coolest thing I could imagine when Pokemon hit the states in 1998, and you know what? I’m pretty sure it’s still the coolest thing.
Scizor, then, is a huge disappointment. Instead of sword arms it’s turned into some sort of lobster thing, with a heavy metal coating that vaguely resembles Iron Man. And the thing is, Scizor is still cool. It’s a steel warrior bug with deadly claws. But it’s just NOT as cool as a ninja mantis with swords for arms.
And then Mega Scizor is just… ugh. This thing doesn’t feel like an evolved super powered Scizor, it feels like Dr. Wily made a Scizor in his garage and sent it to kill Megaman. Its ridiculous proportions just make it look like it can’t move, and it’s anime as all hell. Sure, all Pokemon designs are a little anime, but there’s degrees. This thing doesn’t even look like a Pokemon anymore.
One thing you’ll notice about Pokemon is that there’s different designers and designs change over time, but the Scyther line really just looks like the Pokemon weren’t designed by the same people. Yes, there’s clear visual throughlines from Scyther to Scizor to Mega Scizor, but there’s very different ideas and concepts of what to do with each form, such that Scyther is easily the coolest despite being the first form.
EVOLUTIONS:
Scizor is the only lateral evolution in all of Pokemon. While some Pokemon lose some stats on evolution to gain more in others, like how Metapod and Kakuna have higher Defense than Butterfree and Beedrill, Scizor is the only pokemon whose stat total does not increase on evolution. This alone is really, really weird. Further, Scyther and Scizor have base stats of a whopping 500. There’d be plenty of room for a pre-evolution of Scyther, but we’ve never seen one.
The actual evolution method here is to trade with the metal coat, which I’ve established is dumb, because it could just be Trade or Metal Coat and doesn’t need to be both.
Mega Scizor is a weirdly unnecessary Mega. Scizor was already really good without it, and the evolution gives much more to defense than attack, meaning even in formats it’s allowed there’s reason to use non-Mega Scizor. It’s still quite good, though, it’s just not such an obvious, necessary upgrade as some Megas are. For this reason, we’ll be talking about all three of Scyther’s forms here.
Art by Clinkorz
TYPING:
Scyter’s Bug/Flying typing is a bit high risk, high reward due to overlap. Immunity to ground and double resistance to Fighting and Grass are big deals, but 4x weakness to Rock is vicious in a game where Stealth Rock exists, and there’s four other weaknesses besides. When Scyther resists a hit, it really resists… But it’s always open for taking big damage. Offensively, bug is really weak, with far too many types resistant to it. Fortunately, flying can hit most of them, giving Scyther super-effective options against Bug, FIghting, Grass, Psychic, and Dark and only stopped doubly by Steel.
Scizor, on the other hand, is a defensive powerhouse with typing. Steel resists most types, and Bug type covers both Fighting and Ground, leaving Scizor only weak to fire and, sure, it’s 4x weak to fire, but it resists (or is immune to) nine of the game’s eighteen types. On offense, Bug/Steel gets to be super-effective against one more type than Bug/Flying, but both Steel and Fire resist both its types. Mega Scizor shares Scizor’s typing.
Art by AbelVera
STATS:
At 500 base stats, Scyther has a good 110 attack, a good 105 speed, and then basically average defensive stats. All in all it’s a solid stat lineup that makes for a good, aggressive Pokemon. Numerically, it has no real weaknesses, though its typing makes it more vulnerable to attacks than its defensive stats suggest. On the other hand, Scyther’s one of the strongest Pokemon that can use Eviolite, which ups its base defenses both to 120, and multiplies its other defensive bonuses as well.
Scizor’s stats are still 500, but it trades 40 points of speed to increase attack and defense both by 20. This means Scizor’s a seriously heavy hitter and, combined with its high number of resistances, far more durable. The lack of 40 speed is actually a pretty big hit from a sweeping standpoint, but 65 speed isn’t so low as to be unusable, and the attack increase is very real.
Mega Scizor adds another 100 points of stats onto Scizor, mostly in the defenses. While its attack does increase from 130 to 150, the big boost is a defense jump to 140 and special defense to 100. It’s still extremely flammable, but it’s going to be able to take the vast majority of attacks in the game safely. So, why still use Scizor? Because the jump from 130 Attack to 150 attack, while strong, isn’t as strong as using a Life Orb or Choice Band, or even a Metal Coat, and Mega Evolution takes your item slot. This isn’t to say Mega Scizor isn’t great, just that it’s not the only good Scizor build.
Art by MorganHowell
ABILITIES:
Swarm, available to both Scyther and Scizor, increases the damage of their bug moves by 50% when their health is at ⅓ or less. This generally means you’re only getting one attack off with it before you go down. While not useless, the second ability is far better for damage.
Mega Scizor’s sole ability, which Scyther and Scizor can both get, is Technician. Technician increases the damage of any attack with base power 60 or less by 1.5x. Scyther and Scizor actually have a lot of these moves, though a few of the better ones aren’t currently available in Sword and Shield. Still, this is going to be the best ability for most builds.
Scyther’s hidden ability, Steadfast, increases its speed when it flinches. While Flinching is certainly a thing that happens, Scyther has enough speed that an ability that only increases its speed under specific circumstances just isn’t worth it.
Scizor’s hidden ability is Light Metal, which drops its weight from 260 pounds to 130 pounds. This is a super situational ability that only comes up if somebody’s going to hit Scizor with Low Kick or Grass not, so the only reasonable use for it is to use on a Scizor you’re intending to Mega Evolve so that you can choose not to Mega Evolve it if you’re expecting the Low Kick… But even then you’re only reducing the base power by 20 and you’re giving up 40 points of physical defense by not Mega Evolving, so it’s real corner-case stuff.
The point is: Technician. Scyther line’s only relevant ability is Technician.
Bug Catching Contest by Sa-Dui
MOVES:
Did you know Scyther invented the Swords Dance Sweep? Oh, sure, it wasn’t the only Pokemon in Gen 1 that could do it, but it was the only Pokemon that learned it naturally and had enough of a speed stat to sweep with it. And this was back when Slash would basically always crit because critical hits were based on speed, so you’d get this Pokemon that naturally learns Swords Dance, Agility, and Slash and you’d just power up and go to town.
What I’m saying here is: Take Swords Dance. If you’re not using a Choice item, all three forms are built to make use of it. Scyther has the higher speed, and (Mega) Scizor can take the hits to spend time building up.
For actual attacks, it’s important to remember Technician here. For Bug attacks, this means the best option should be Bug Bite, but Gen 8 currently doesn’t have a move tutor for it, If you can’t get Bug Bite on your Scyther, you’re stuck with either X-Scissor or Fury Cutter (Which, with Technician, starts at 60 power for the first, then 80 for the second, then 160 for all subsequent cuts.) Another strong bug-type move is U-Turn, and though you can’t sweep with it, it lets Scyther or Scizor get in a strong hit while using another Pokemon to defend.
But let’s be honest here: Bug is only super-effective against three types and it’s resisted by way too many, so if you just don’t have a bug attack, you don’t have a bug attack.
Art by Macuarrorro
For Scyther’s Flying attack, Dual Wingbeat is newly available in the Isle of Armor and it has beautiful synergy with Technician. As a two-hit attack, it actually has 80 power, but reads as 40, so Technician increases that to two hits of 60, for a 120 power hit with 90 Accuracy. Whatever Scyther was doing before (Aerial Ace mostly), this is just better. Though not as good for Scizor due to a lack of STAB, a 120 power Flying move is still good.
Scyther also learns a series of Dark moves in older generations. Pursuit with Technician can be a major hit, and Knock Off is always good, even without the Technician boost. Assurance, still available in Gen 8, does get the technician boost, and serves as a solid Dark attack even without any way to trigger its secondary effect. Further, Quick Attack, while generally weak, winds up being a lot more potent with Technician and the aid of Swords Dance, even if Scyther can’t get STAB with it.
Scizor, meanwhile, gets Bullet Punch, which is just like Quick Attack but Scizor does get STAB with it, meaning an attack with a base power of 40 hits as though its power were 90, which is quite an effective way to deal with Scizor’s lower speed. Iron Head serves as a stronger Steel type attack, but Iron Head with STAB only matches Dual Wingbeat without STAB, so it’s really not worthwhile.
Scizor, but not Scyther, can learn Superpower. While not particularly spammable, enough types are weak to Fighting attacks, and its base damage still matches anything else Scizor can do.
In older generations, Scyther can learn Roost, which works great for both forms. For Scyther, it can reliably go before an incoming attack and alter Scyther’s weaknesses, and with a bulkier Pokemon like Scizor (or even Scyther with Eviolite) or a complete tank like Mega Scizor it can seriously increase the Pokemon’s longevity.
For an actual build, I recommend Swords Dance, Dual Wingbeat, and Roost, with Bullet Punch for Mega Scizor, Bullet Punch or U-Turn for Scizor, and Quick Attack or U-Turn for Scyther as the final attack.
Art by ChrisMasna
OVERALL:
Scyther is still SO COOL and Scizor is also so cool just less cool. Dual Wingbeat really gives Technician something to work with, as does Bullet Punch, and Swarm’s not a useless ability it’s just… less good than Technician. My only real complaint is that Scyther lost Bug Bite in the new generation. Bug is a pretty weak type offensively, and X-Scissor just isn’t very good. Bug Bite, First Impression, or even Lunge would be a serious boon to Scyther and Scizor.
It’s also sort of weird to me that Scyther doesn’t have a baby version. Scyther is one of gen 1’s strongest first form Pokemon, tied with Pinsir, and with only Lapras, Snorlax, Aerodactyl, and the legendary Pokemon having higher stat totals. While Legendaries and Aerodactyl having a pre-evolved form is hardly necessary, Snorlax already has one, so it’s a bit odd to me that Scyther, Pinsir, and Lapras just appear fully formed as powerful as they are. Scyther is also one of the strongest Pokemon that can still evolve, beaten out only by Type: Null. I suppose that explains the unique lateral evolution a bit, but that’s still very odd, too.
Scyther’s just weird, because Scyther was already super cool and then they had to add two more forms to it for some reason. But Scyther is still the coolest.
And he knows it. Art by kenket

Pokemon Changes I’d Make
I’ve come up with some changes I would make for Pokemon after scouring the internet and because I had an idea of only numbering pokemon biological lines instead of each pokemon individually. 1) to save on numbers, and 2) I can put Pichu next to Pikachu without messing with the National Dex order which divides pokemon by region, so an entirely different system than mine, which divides by biological line in order of discovery of one of it’s members.
under the readmore, I will go through the list of most significant changes that I would make if I were in charge of pokemon
0) Numbering Pokemon by Family Line instead of Individually in Pokedex
Basically it’s what it says, it would look like this on paper:
001 = Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur = Grass/Poison
002 = Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard = Fire/Flying
003 = Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise = Water/Steel
oh yeah, btw, Blastoise is Steel type because Duh (don’t care if Empoleon did it, Fire. Fighting. That is all.)
001 Bulbasaur Ivysaur Venusaur 002 Charmander Charmeleon Charizard 003 Squirtle Wartortle Blastoise 004 Caterpie Metapod Butterfree 005 Weedle Kakuna Beedrill 006 Pidgey Pidgeotto Pidgeot 007 Rattata Raticate 008 Spearow Fearow 009 Ekans Arbok 010 Pichu Pikachu Raichu....
So basically like this all, all the way down the list for each Pokefamily
1) Ditto, Mew and Mewtwo have the same numbered family line.
I know none evolve into the other and only Ditto can breed, but Mewtwo is canonically of the same dna as Mew. Mewtwo is a genetically modified singular unqiue instance of a Mew. Original games go so far as to straight up saw Mew gave birth to Mewtwo.
Ditto being related to Mew and Mewtwo genetically is also a strongly held fan theory that I believe in, and well, this is called the changes I’d make to Pokemon if I could, and this is what I’d do
(Though Ditto would of course be move ahead to end of the Main Kanto group to be with Mew, rather then moving Mew and Mewtwo back)
2) Nidoran (F) and Nidoran (M) are now a single pokemon called Nidoran.
Their gendered forms are now the same thing as Meowstics, with male and females having drastically different sprites.
I know that F and M Nido’s also have different moves and stats and that’s important to preserve, and I say, this is fine to keep as well. Pokemon change their stats, moves, typings, abilities, all the time for TEMPORARY forme changes, heck even held items. Rotom, Deoxys, Genesect, Burmy/Wormadam, Aegislash, Shaymin, Castform, fucking Cosplay Pikachu etc If those things can change for temporary forme changes, they can be different for permanent gendered forme changes like Nidoran. I don’t see any conflict there.
Then female Nidorans evolve into Nidorinas, and male Nidorans evolve into Nidorinos.
Also Nidorina’s and Nidoqueen’s can breed because it’s stupid that they can’t.
3) Male Miltank eggs just become Tauros.
There’s no reason for Miltank and Tauros to not work like Illumise and Volbeat. This is a biological dex also, so just like Illumise and Volbeat are considered the same biological family, so are Miltank and Tauros. Miltank appears with Tauros in it’s slot.
4) Plusle and Minun are a pair/in the same family group, and can produce eachother’s eggs, but not exactly determined by gender.
Two of the same type breeding will give a Plusle
So Plusle+Plusle or Minun+Minun = Plusle
Two of the opposite type breeding will give a Minun
So Plusle+Minun = Minun
They otherwise keep their gender ratios and breeding group, so they can also breed with other pokemon, and the baby will be of the mother as per usual rules.
5) Oranguru and Passimian also share biology, but also in a non gendered way like Plusle and Minun.
Basically, either can be male or female and can breed with other pokemon, and have children based on the mother in the usual way.
But if an Oranguru and Passimian breed together, no matter which is female, If the offspring has higher attack than special attack, it becomes a Passimian. If it has higher special attack than attack, it becomes an Oranguru.
This is partly because I think it made sense given their lore and designs, and also because I thought it’d be a neat throwback to the gender determination system of the original crystal game, but in this case it determines species/abilities/lore etc
then if the attack and special attack tie, it just becomes whoever the mother was as normal.
6) Sigilyph gets demoted from being a unique pokemon, to merely a Forme change of Unown, akin to Wishiwashi’s schooling forme, but different.
I never really liked the idea of Unown evolving, but also knew it was related to Sigilyph, somehow, just didn’t really know how.
then Sun/Moon came along and along came Wishiwashi and it’s unique forme type. With the way Unown have always been portrayed to always school together like that just like in the Entei Movie, it was perfect!
When an Unown is at low health, in order to protect itself, many more Unown school together around it and psychically merge itself into a stronger being, in order to fight off the attacker.
So unlike Wishiwashi who starts out as many and weakens to being a single one, Unown starts out single, and upon a suitable threat, psychically calls upon its brethren for help as a last ditch resort. Unown also warp reality itself as they please, so it’s not outlandish to say a bunch of them could merge themselves together into a single temporary physical forme.
So thus the name Sigilyph is forever removed. It’s model just becomes a Guardian forme Unown.
7) Phione also loses it’s name/gets demoted to being a forme change of Manaphy like Sigilyph.
The Phione sprite/model is simply the Warm Seas forme of Manaphy, while the OG Manaphy sprite/model is now the Cold Seas forme.
There’s no reason why it couldn’t have been this in the first place. Phione has no reason to be a separate pokemon from Manaphy, it just doesn’t.
How it changes forme in-game can have something to do with the weather/terrain changes because idc.
8) Carbink evolves into Diancie.
This one, I’m unsure if I should remove Diancie from being legendary, or just make it so the item that evolves Carbink into Diancie is a one use only key item and you can’t get more/trade more/use it again.
But it’s one of the two, I think the one use key item is probably best though. No legendary deserves to be demoted (excepy Phione, but its fine because I merged it with Manaphy) and to keep Dianice special, the item must only be able to be used once, can’t get traded another one by any means.
9) Adjustments to pokemon evolution lines:
I have no justification for these other than I want them. Nothing crazy, just sticking some lines together, you may or may not disagree, this is fine also.
Dusnparce evolves into Drampa.
Linoone evolves into Zangoose.
Arbok evolves into Seviper.
Luvdisc evolves into Alomomola.
Minior evolves into either Solrock or Lunatone by Sun/Moonstone of course.
All Eevee evo’s are by evolution Stone
Flareon - Fire Stone
Jolteon - Thunder Stone
Vaporeon - Water Stone
Espeon - Sun (Dawn) Stone (Really these should just be the same Sun stone..)
Umbreon - Moon (Dusk) Stone (ditto as above. but Moon stone)
Glaceon - Ice Stone
Leafeon - Leaf Stone
Sylveon - Shiny Stone
10) And then, Pokemon Type Matchup changes.
This should probably be it’s own post, but fuck it, I can give the quick rundown
Rock and Ground type get merged into a single Earth type.
Sound type gets introduced to keep same number of types and because it’s long past due.
All type colors are as follows:
All other types get some re balancing in terms of type matchups
So, each type has 6 factors:
A type that they are good at attacking (Effective), bad at attacking (Futile), and totally ineffective towards (Useless)
and, types that they are good at defending against (Resist), bad at defending against (Weak), and totally immune to (Immune)
I re-balanced each type to make sure they have no more than 5 in each of those categories, without changing what made each type so unique and useful (attempting anyways) but it was easy enough, it was really more about removing extraneous resistances that didn’t really need to exist, which naturally removed a lot of ineffectivess, and then splattering a few actual effectives around.
Does this unintentionally make some types stronger purely because they have high base stat attacking moves?
Yes. but that problem shouldn't be solved by making types weaker, it should be solved by giving all the types effective attacking options. That way, all the types feel good and effective to use. I think it’s better that way, especially because it encourages the system of “using your favorite pokemon to win” and giving a lot more equally viable options for battle, instead of having a small few stand out from the crowd and trample everyone.
First I’ll explain Earth and Sound as they are new:
Earth Type is This:
Effective: Fire, Electric, Poison, Sound
Futile: Grass, Earth, Bug
Useless: Flying
Resist: Fire, Poison, Earth, Sound
Weak: Water, Grass, Steel, Ice
Immune: Electric
Earth is Ground and Rock combined (more like Rock enfolded into Ground but eh, some parts of Rock are still there)
Earth pretty much takes Ground’s strengths at attacking/defending, but takes Rock’s weakness against Steel. The thought being “Well, I had to merge them somehow, Ground is very powerful and needs some balance, need a good weakness, and the idea of a shovel shoveling Earth and tearing it up with manmade tools seemed to make sense”
kept the immunities and uselessness to keep that balance intact, removed references to Normal and Fighting since Fighting has nothing to do with Earth really, and Normal types often live/burrow in the ground so could be good or bad.
Gave an effectiveness against Sound since the earth absorbs soundwaves and weakens them.
Sound Type is This:
Effective: Flying, Steel, Psychic
Futile: Earth, Water, Grass
Useless: Sound
Resist: Flying, Steel, Psychic
Weak: Earth, Water, Grass
Immune: Sound
Sound is interesting and a bit unique, due to it’s ephemeral nature, the types it is effective against, are also the types that it naturally resists. As are the types it is ineffective against, are also the types it is weak to
Sound travels best through the Air, Flying is here standing in as an “Air/Wind” type, and the idea is that Sound powerful enough to attack just CUTS right through Flying types.
Sound is amplified by echoes, but Steel is especially prone to that, Steel basically helpless to do anything except amplify Sound, strengthening it, but just like vibrations strong enough to maim, are strong enough to shatter, the things that echo the loudest are also the things most prone to being torn apart by vibrations.
and then Psychic is simply because of how Sound is the number one way to interrupt concentration, and no amount of mental prowess can fight against that. It fits into Psychic’s weakness all being common fears, by screaming being the most common response associated with fear, and also sudden loud jumpscare noises.
Sound is weak to Water, Earth and Grass, and also is Futile against them for similar reasons across the board, bodies of water, wood, ground, boulders etc all absorb and disperse soundwaves very well without damaging themselves, unlike Steel which amplifies Sound.
Then finally, Sound is totally immune to, and useless against, itself. Sound is Sound is Sound. If there’s loud things happening, more loud things just add to the chaos and the volume. Sound cannot overpower itself, only add to it’s own strength.
The Pokemon that were Rock/Ground are now Pure Earth type, those that were Type/Rock or Type/Ground are now Type/Earth. Other than those conversions no changes were made to make something Earth type that wasn’t already once Rock or Ground type.
As for Sound type, something to make note of, is that “Sound” encompasses more an idea of “Music” or “Rhythm” where both singing and dancing but also shockwave and vibration are encompassed into “Sound” type, to allow for a base in both special and physical moves, and to encompass all expression of Noise.
So, the following are now Pure Sound Types:
Whismur, Loudred, Exploud
Spinda
Chingling, Chimecho
Audino
Cincinno, Mincinno
Eevee evolution that’s pure Sound, Probably Melodeon or Vocaleon or Harmoneon (Evolves upon using Noise Stone)
The Following are Primarily Sound type with a secondary Typing:
Igglybugg, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff = Sound/Fairy
Ludicolo = Sound/Grass (Noise Stone, not Water Stone)
Kricketot, Kricketune = Sound/Bug
Chatot = Sound/Flying
Woobat, Swoobat = Sound/Flying
Meloetta = Sound/Psychic or Fighting
Noibat, Noivern = Sound/Dragon
Pikipek, Trumbeak, Toucannon = Sound/Flying
Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o = Sound/Fighting
and then the following are Primarily one type, but with a secondary Sound type:
Bellosom = Grass/Sound (Noise Stone, not Sun Stone)
Politoed = Water/Sound (Noise Stone, not king’s rock)
Voltorb, Electrode = Electric/Sound
Happiny, Chansey, Blissey = Normal/Sound
Munchlax, Snorlax = Normal/Sound
Yanma, Yanmega = Bug/Sound
Misdreavus, Mismagius = Ghost/Sound
Snubbull, Granbull = Fairy/Sound
Poochyena, Mightyena = Dark/Sound
Ludicolo = Grass/Sound (Noise Stone)
Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir = Psychic/Sound
Skitty, Delcatty = Normal/Sound (Noise Stone, not Moonstone)
Electrike, Manectric = Electric/Sound
Wailmer, Wailord = Water/Sound
Spoink, Grumpig = Psychic/Sound
Vibrava, Flygon = Earth/Sound
Bronzor, Bronzong = Metal/Sound
Tympole, Seismotoad, Palpitoad = Water/Sound
Maractus = Grass/Sound
Klink, Klang, Kinklang = Metal/Sound
Litleo, Pyroar = Fire/Sound
Primarina = Water/Sound
Oricorio = Fire or Psychic or Electric or Ghost/Sound
As for the balanced type matchup, you can see them all in this picture here:
you read it like the Type on the left is attacking the Type at the top
so, Fire (Left) attacks Bug (Top) and it’s green! So Super Effective and etc.
I won’t explain it all, because I feel like the chart is pretty self explanatory
aaaand, I think that’s all the changes I’d make to Pokemon itself.
I might come up with more later, but these are thing I want to see in Pokemon

Dusknoir’s Nephew
Here’s some backstory that no one asked for on Dusknoir’s eldest nephew:
It is tradition in Dusknoir’s family that the eldest child is the only one to carry on the species name—which basically means that all of Dusknoir’s younger siblings got names while Dusknoir remained “Duskull” at birth (and then of course took on his new species name upon evolution). It isn’t that they don’t care about the oldest in the family or anything—since there are plenty of families/pokemon that don’t give formal names to their children—it’s just a traditional sort of thing. The tradition was started by Duskull, who runs the Duskull Bank, and the original intent behind his decision was that he was intending for his oldest child to inherit the bank. Since he was courting a female duskull at the time things were starting to get shaky time-wise, he knew his children would be duskull as well and he thought that that interactions with patrons would be easier if the person who ran the bank shared the same name—and this was even before everyone’s sanity took a major dive. Considering the location of the bank, and some things I’ve said in my stories, he was actually able to keep the bank running for quite a while after time stopped. And even when the situation deteriorated enough that it just didn’t make sense to keep the bank running as an actual bank, he still kept hope alive that one day things would go back to normal. Which it did, eventually, but that only happened after the “higher being” that Dialga alluded to stepped in (so in that sense, it technically never stopped being a bank at all because of weird time/space reasons that aren’t really important to this post).
In any case, despite the fact that it wasn’t really running as a bank, his family still kept up the tradition up to Dusknoir’s time, and the quickly branching family did so as well—meaning that his siblings, who were given formal names, left their eldest children unnamed. This remained the case even when the children in question weren’t duskull—as is the case with Dusknoir’s eldest nephew.
Now, an interesting thing to note about Dusknoir’s family—given their origins, and how messed up everything was, Dusknoir is the first one of his family in generations to actually evolve at all, let alone make it all the way to the end of the species line (which, honestly, is something that Duskull should have really considered when it came to the bank, and starting this tradition in the first place. Maybe he had never planned to evolve, but he probably had friends and family members who had done so before all the evolution spots suddenly stopped working. And up to that point, people probably assumed things would eventually get fixed and go back to normal—Teddiursa, for one, had apparently been preparing to evolve for quite some time before the option was ripped away. Yet he never stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, a family member down the line would leap at the chance of evolution. Not to mention what would happen in the case of a descendant marrying a different species/adopting a child not of the dusknoir-line. It’s all well and good to name a bank after yourself/your family, but when you’re going by your species name… it doesn’t really work out all that well if the entire reason you did so was to keep up species association throughout multiple generations of your family. This is why it was smart of Persian in Rescue Team to call the bank “Felicity Bank.” Is it harder to remember? Maybe. But it’s also a less awkward name when someone down the line spawns a dragonair who takes over the family business while the marshtomp next door is stuck in a store called “The Wigglytuff Club.” Anyways…).
This normally wouldn’t have been a problem, and his family likely would have been ecstatic that he found a way to evolve if not for the way in which he did so—i.e, he went to Primal Dialga. For various reasons, people who knew about Primal Dialga typically did not like him. For the remnants of Treasure Town specifically, things were even more complicated. On the one hand, his interest in the area meant that others typically left them alone, so it was a relatively safe to live, and kept up something of a functional society even in the midst of madness. This is why Dusknoir, of all pokemon, is the only one of the pokemon from the dark future (that canon would have made us personally interested in) to have what one would classify as a “normal” childhood. On the other hand… that same interest, coupled with Primal Dialga’s typical instability and irrationality, also meant that he often got annoyed by the pokemon living there and would often attack the place (or at least the closest he could get to the place without outright doing damage to it) in anger/annoyance. Not to mention that a lot of people blamed him for the entire situation with time being out of whack in the first place. So while they were forced to tolerate him, they held no love for him—especially where their sense of morals were concerned. So, when they found out Dusknoir—then Duskull/Dusclops—had gone to him, trading himself for power… it didn’t matter that he ultimately did it to keep them all safe, and keep Dialga from attacking the area. His family took it as a personal betrayal and banished him. Or, at least… his parents did.
The thing is, while Dusclops—who they had no way of knowing had actually evolved into Dusknoir by the time things were fixed—became a cautionary tale in the family from then on… no one really knew what, exactly, he’d done, since only his mother got the full explanation from him, and while she did share it with the other adults—or at least with her husband—no one bothered to share the whole story with his siblings, cousins, or any of the children. So, while some of them may have gotten enough pieces to put together the entire story, by the time it filtered down to the younger kids, most of them probably only heard that grandma/auntie/whatever Dusknoir’s mother’s relation to them was had gotten mad at her son and banished him for evolving. And even if she did intend to tell them what actually happened fully… it isn’t the type of thing you want to tell young children—especially when they aren’t going to understand that the bigger issue was the moral implications of it all, when the situation is complicated and Dialga is, actually, keeping his word not to attack.
From that point, the kids are going to have a very negative view of evolution. They’re going to be afraid that if they evolve, their family will hate them—maybe even attack them. The thing is… because of the world they grew up in, they’re going to have no idea how evolution even works. Considering how long its been since anyone in the family had the ability, the adults may not even know themselves. And even if they did know, it isn’t like they’re going to tell the kids and get their hopes up for something that would likely never happen. (and, yes, I know it does happen, since there are fully evolved pokemon in the future. But the circumstances are definitely going to be different than the usual methods, so it’s going to be rare, and people might not actually know what causes it anymore—barring circumstances such as Dusknoir’s and Grovyle’s.) Since no one bothers to explain it, this is, unfortunately, going to carry on into the changed the future. Which is not good.
Now, Dusknoir’s family is in kind of a strange situation in the new future. Because of how safe the area was, most of them are still alive at the time the future is changed, and most of them would have been born anyways had time continued as it should have. Maybe not all of the extended family, but a majority of them would have. This means that they are put in the situation where they have the weird, sort of doubled-memory thing going on where they remember two sets of history. The thing is, though, in order to keep things mostly making sense, Dusknoir’s new backstory in the changed future is pretty much the same, just… maybe slightly lessened a bit. As in, his mom still got angry that he went to serve Dialga here—despite many other people considering it to be a very prestigious and honorable position—but it was more for the fact that—due to Paula’s actions in the past and spreading the story about what actually happened—she feels like Dialga still bears a lot of responsibility for the mess because he should have been keeping a better eye on the condition of his tower/the world in general and nipped the situation in the bud before it got that bad to begin with. But considering the changed circumstances, as well as time and distance from the problem in general… she probably cooled off a lot on this in the meantime. Especially when looking around and seeing how well-off her family actually was this whole time, as compared to a lot of other people. Getting some distance from the problem, and getting to think about things and how awful of a situation everyone was in… well, she still might be upset at her son, and think that it was the wrong thing to do, but… she still loves him. She always did. And maybe after a while, she’d even wanted him to come home—even when the future was still dark. But he took her words seriously, and never did.
…And, of course, no one is bothering to explain this to the kids, and many of them are also struggling with the new changes and doubled memories, and everything. And they might be afraid of evolution even more now, since the possibility for it actually happening is much greater, and now their grandma’s dislike of it seems even more irrational. Also… they still don’t actually know what triggers it.
Cue one day, a charmander—the eldest son of a charmander mother and duskull father, who happens to be the direct younger brother of Dusknoir (who everyone assumes is still Dusclops, because for all that Dialga might be more well-known, it isn’t like he’s going around and announcing who, exactly, is working for him, and most people encountering Primal Dialga directly weren’t going to live to tell the tale, nor were his underlings likely to directly announce who they worked for—assuming the pokemon around them were lucid enough to even care)—stumbling upon Luminous Spring/some other evolution location one day, having no idea what it does and not really paying attention beyond the “those that seek awakening” part of the mysterious voice’s spiel (because, honestly, that would probably be terrifying for an unaware child, to just hear something like that being directly beamed into their brain without prompting), saying “yes,” and then evolving. Or maybe he doesn’t stumble upon a spring—maybe he somehow manages to stumble upon something else that triggers evolution which is more similar to the method Dusknoir or Grovyle used, and which doesn’t exactly ask first before getting on with things. The result is that now you have a young charmeleon who, due to a series of miscommunications, thinks that his family is going to hate him, perhaps even hurt him, because they hate evolution, and he’s now evolved.
There’s no way he’s going to go home like this, but he knows enough that if he makes it to the New Planetary Investigation Team’s base—which is being newly constructed in response to all the weird time issues that “suddenly” popped up now that the world has reached the point where the old and new futures are now caught up with each other—that he’ll be safe—at least for a while. Lots of pokemon go there who need help, and he’s heard that it’s run by some pokemon who have evolved.
The thing is… remember how no one knew that Dusclops had become Dusknoir? Well, by that same token… Dusknoir had no idea that his younger brother had married a charmander, much less that they had a son together. So… when these two meet after a severely exhausted, sick, and injured Charmeleon makes it to the New PIT base, they have no idea they are related. Cue shenanigans wherein the two of them find out that they strangely have a lot in common with one another, and Charmeleon—who refuses to tell them where he comes from but is adamant that he’s fearful of going back (a story which is unfortunately common nowadays, with things like doubled memories and general struggles with the changes meaning that, even if things are objectively better, there’s still a lot of struggling and healing going on, and people trying to make new lives for themselves)—takes over a lot of organizing and managerial duties, since Grovyle obviously has no idea how to run an entire base and Dusknoir—who does actually have a lot of the training for it—is too busy being Dialga’s right hand pokemon and wrangling the Sableye Gang to effectively manage things on his own. (Not to mention the fact that he, Grovyle, and Celebi are trying to juggle the creation of a base along with their own doubled memory issues and grief over the fact that they think Laura is dead). After all, as part of the Duskull Bank lineage, he’s been taught a lot about things like numbers and running a bank—and in this new future, it was more or less expected that he would be the one to take over the bank when he was old enough, despite not actually being a duskull.
Thing is, though, his worried parents back home have no idea what happened to him, or that he actually ran away from home. And they are contending with fears compounded by memories of what could happen to a child who never made it back home after an errand when the future was still dark. And the most likely place to go for help in such an instance… is the New PIT base. Meaning that Dusknoir is going to get a family reunion with his brother—including a few days’ worth of bonding as they try to convince Charmeleon that it is perfectly safe for him to come home, the issue was never about evolution in general, and so on and so forth. It may or may not work right away, but the eventual result is going to be a reconciliation between Dusknoir and the rest of his family, and Charmeleon deciding that he’d like to stay with his uncle anyways because he actually likes helping to run the New PIT base better than the bank, and the best way to keep an eye on Dialga and make sure he’s actually doing his job is to stay relatively close to him, right? Also, he would feel awkward running the Duskull Bank when he obviously isn’t a duskull. Sorry, however many greats-grandfather Duskull, that’s just how things work.
Now, whether or not Dusknoir actually tells any of his family members that he actually met the original proprietor of Duskull Bank—because while everyone is eventually going to realize that Grovyle is the same Grovyle from Paula’s story, she may not have actually told people about Dusknoir or the sableyes involvement. Considering that her major focus was on making sure her friends got remembered and that this sort of thing never happened again, she might not have gone into the whole “they got chased into the past” thing in favor of the “hey, these pokemon had to come from the future and save us because we forgot how Time Gears worked” bits. Yeah, the pokemon in the guild and Treasure Town obviously would have cared about the entire story—since they actually knew Laura and Dusknoir personally—but I don’t think that anyone who wasn’t already involved would have really cared that much. Even if she did tell that part to everyone she met, I can see his involvement getting lost very easily since, again, no one else probably cared about that bit—not to mention the fact that when Laura eventually came back, along with some other time-jumping shenanigans going on with other pokemon later—things would have gotten even more muddled and confusing that it was just easier to stick to the main story and important parts, which is that they need to keep an eye on stuff like Temporal Tower, because otherwise stuff like that is going to happen again, and no one should have to struggle with the very real fear of being erased from reality itself considering that basically no one knew how it was prevented in the first place, and while the people in the new timeline are happy to still be alive, they can attest to the fear and hopelessness of the situation they were in, and the ending they got is still no walk in the park. The point is… his family probably has no idea he was involved at all, since they don’t actually know what Primal Dalga was actually having him do, and, for various reasons—least of all the very obvious grief he’s currently going through—no one wants to ask. Dusknoir probably wouldn’t bring it up of his own volition anyways (mostly due to a mix of embarrassment and having other, more important things to deal with—like the living family who is right in front of him).
Besides, his family has more important questions to wonder about—like whether or not the sableye and/or Grovyle are technically part of the family now, given the way Dusknoir acts around them… which, of course, brings up its own awkwardness.
Although… given some of the things that are slated to happen in later parts of The World’s Treasure, as well as the fact that Dusknoir likely told Laura about his childhood home at some point (or, even if he didn’t, she might get flashes of him talking to the Little Imp about it—since we know for sure that he told her, and even brought her within viewing distance)… it’s entirely possible that Duskull himself might find out about this link to his descendant at some point or another. He may even leave something behind for him to be found at a later point in time…

What are your top pokemon games??
Official or fangame? I’ll just list both. I will say Pokemon Reborn is my top-rated overall if we combine both lists (with HGSS and Collesseum/XD following as 2 and 3 respectively.)
On Official, it’s
1. Heartgold/Soulsilver (My favorite region is Johto, and Ethan is my favorite Pokemon protagonist so…unsurprising. The games are still genuinely good though imo because of the massive amount of content and post-game and QoL stuff like following Pokemon, auto-run, etc.) I also love the nostalgic feeling of the region. Lance is also here, and I like him and his design a lot, not as much as Volkner though. Also Proton is here, and I love the dude so. Pedometer is included here.
2. Pokemon Colosseum/Pokemon XD; I include this together since they’re a duo set in terms of story. XD is the better one gameplay-wise because of the new additions of Shadow moves, more Pokemon choices, QoL changes like saving, etc. but Colosseum is the harder of the two games imo b/c of the sparsity of Pokemon–if you can play it on laptop, mod XD with Pokemon XG for massive QoL changes (Fairy Type, more shadow Pokemon, upped difficulty, etc.)
I like how this set tries new stuff and it honestly showcases how if you the Pokemon IP to a third-party, you end up with something that tries to be different and actually plays pretty well.
3. Pokemon BWBW2; included as a set because of joint story line. Honestly, I feel like BWBW2 are objectively the last great mainline series additions. Even if you didn’t care for the story, they at least tried with it and the rivals. You had the nice rival in Bianca and the “focused/ruder” rival in Cheren, and both encompassed the themes of the game (Truth with Bianca as she realizes her ineptness as a trainer and Ideals with Cheren who strives to overcome his boundaries and the player even if he never can). N is pretty awesome, and I think Ghetsis is a better Lusamine (sorry, idc for how Lusamine’s actions are brushed over and blamed on the space jellyfish). There’s a lot to enjoy in Unova imo.
Also massive post-game stuff like Join Avenue (which encourages one of the main tenets of Pokemon, interacting with others and trading; ex. “Magnemite Coil”), half the region opening up for Post-game (White Treehollow, Kyurem’s abode, etc.). The Legendaries also have home locations for the most part, and their items aren’t just given to you by random people. A lot of stuff to do that isn’t just breeding mindlessly for shinies (I mean I love doing that, but options ya know?) or online battle.
4. Pokemon Conquest; Fire Emblem (or more accurately, Nobunaga’s ambition) meets Pokemon. I like turn-based grid tactic games, and this one’s actually pretty fun. You’re encouraged to roam around and give people different Pokemon to see which ones they’re compatible with. Also another example of what can be done if Pokemon is given to a another developer.
5. Pokemon Explores of Sky (and to a lesser extent since it’s the base, Time/Darkness); you can swap this with Colloseum/XD, BWBW2 or Pokemon Conquest depending on if you prefer Pokemon’s style of play, tactics games, or dungeon crawlers. I like this one since the story’s actually pretty good, the difficulty’s nice, and especially the post-game dungeons and content.
6. Pokemon Platinum and Diamond+Pearl to a lesser extent– the region that actually has a reasonably difficult Elite Four and champion. I love the additions they have like distortion world, the melancholic feel you get at times in the Chateau area and snowfields, and the post-game Battle Frontier. However, the games run so slow without Drayano’s mods. In terms of husbandos, Volkner’s pretty nice as well, and he’s pretty high-tier for me. Cynthia’s here as well, so I guess she counts since she’s a feature every time she shows up.
7. Pokemon FRLG-The definite version of Kanto for me. Sevii Islands, callbacks (callforwards?) to the Johto games with the Rocket Admins, decent difficulty and ability to sequence break somewhat, etc. It gives new experiences for those who’ve played the OG versions, but doesn’t change them drastically. The “you can’t evolve anything outside of the OG 151 before post-game” is stupid though. Lance is here as well, but his half Dragonite/Dragonair team annoys me b/c of how repetitive it is, but product of the time as well and the HGSS first battle had that as well but at least they’re all evolved.
8. Pokemon Red/Blue Rescue Team-I like this one since the story’s still good and incorporates the idea of a human being transported to a Pokemon world, but I just feel like Sky’s gameplay improvements and portraits for everyone trumps this one. I like Gengar a lot and his team. I also think the difficulty on this one (depending on starter and partner) is fairly good at times (The Moltres fight is actually pretty difficult if you don’t have Pikachu or a water type partner).
9. Pokemon Emerald and to a lesser extent Ruby/Sapphire–Battle Frontier, Scott and Smeargle cave (ie. post-game content), beautiful promotional artwork (including ORAS’s), fairly difficult battles at time if you aren’t prepared/going in blind with no excessive grinding (2nd May battle, Flannery, etc.), hidden secrets like Regis and Secret Bases. However, the latter half is so boring with the excessive surfing and lackluster variety. Steven’s here, and he’s a dreamboat even with the sprite graphics.
10. Pokemon Channel and Hey you, Pikachu!-Weird I know. This would be higher if I didn’t think this was a niche pick. It’s just really relaxing, and I want another one, especially if you can get more Pokemon to raise. It’s a lot more fun once you play it. I like exploring with Pikachu and it offers a look into the world of Pokemon as a non-trainer. I really want another one tbh.
11. Pokemon Rangers series (Ranked from favorite to lowest; Shadows of Almia–>OG–>Guardian Signs; all are good but that’s my preference) The gameplay is actually pretty fun, and I wish we got another one. They could use Joycons as a styler. Spencer, Sven, and Lunick are also pretty cute
12. Pokken Tournament- What battles should feel like in mainline if they injected millions of dollars into the mainline, so unrealistic expectation. I think Pokken is a decent fighting game. The moves are nice, and the music is good. This can go lower if you don’t care for fighting games.
13. Pokemon Battle Revolution and Stadium games-They’re mostly battle simulators with some mini-games. The animations are actually pretty lively and fun compared to SWSH’s. I would like to rank this higher, but there is no story mode sadly. It’s great if you want to see what Pokemon would look like in-scale.
14. Pokemon X/Y-I think these are actually pretty nice if only for the fact there isn’t excessive handholding; it’s there but it doesn’t force me to put down the game out of boredom. The outfits are genuinely pretty cute. However, the rivals are ridiculously terrible, difficulty is either too low or unbalanced if you use/turn off exp. share. Let’s put ORAS here as well b/c I think the lack of Battle Frontier and mediocre post-game, getting Lati@s early, etc. drops it down from Emerald. The PSS system is amazing though.
15. Pokemon Trozei and Pokemon Pinball series-Yeah, I’ve played these. Trozei’s actually pretty cool as a match-3 game, and pinball is pinball. You also get slightly more lore into the Pokemon world with Lucy Fleetfoot. I like match-3 and pinball so very much a YMMV. Pop Gates to Infinity and Super Mystery Dungeon here as well. Idk, they just lack the magic of the first two entries.
16. Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Dash, all the other spin-offs I didn’t talk about-they all offer something fun, but I just wish it was either updated for modern times and not released again (like with Snap) or a bit more (in the case of Detective Pikachu and Pokepark series). Pop Puzzle League games here as well. I like them, but they aren’t much besides Tetris games. Same goes for the Pokemon Trading Card games; they’re nice, but not super great imo.
???. Pokemon Box/Ranch/all the other storage games and stuff like Dream Radar-Idk what you’d want me to say since they’re storage space or gimmick games to catch HA Pokemon. You do get Extremespeed Zigzagoon which I love since the little buggers are very adorable.
Bottom Tier. Pokemon SM and USUM. I hate these games. They’re cash grabs (more so than usual) with being $40 a piece and the updated versions being barely changed (and actually feeling like what should have been released first). Incredibly handholding, areas feel half-baked, lacks areas to explore for the most part, Lillie is kinda annoying for me tbh (which hurts because you’re supposed to feel for her and the game’s story hinges on that), and the player is an actual detriment to what they’re trying to achieve story-wise. A big shame b/c Alola is a pretty region and Team Skull is great in concept, but execution is awful. Stated as someone who has bought all 4 versions to keep, and 2 extras for gifting.
Absolute Bottom Tier- Pokemon Masters, incredibly terrible mobage game coming from someone who plays FGO, FEH, etc. lack of meaningful content, grinding but meaningless b/c of said lack of content (ex. FGO gates you with mats but it makes you feel like you’re growing with your servants and offers a story and events to compensate; basically, a sense of achievement). CO-OP is pretty bad when you can just hop over to GBF or something if you want guilds and group content. I’m still gonna wait for Ethan and Volkner to appear though.
Unrated-OG RBGY and OG GSC (the remakes are superior outside of nostalgia factor imo so I think it’d be unfair for them to take a spot), LGPE (didn’t buy them b/c pricing but the colors are vibrant and I love that), SWSH (didn’t buy them because I have opinions on the cuts and stuff and price point doesn’t look appealing for what’s offered), Pokemon Mini (these were included with Pokemon Channel), Magikarp Jump+Duel (Duel was a cash grab and Magikarp Jump is cute but no real opinion on it), Pokemon Go (weird spot where I like it, but I don’t live in an area with safe walking areas so very much area-dependent), Arcade games (I don’t live in Japan for that), Perdue Farm games (they’re flash games made to promote so…), Pokemon Rumble (enjoyable but not memorable for me imo) etc.
Fangames-
1. Pokemon Reborn-150+ hours of content, visible themes that permeate the story and characters, beautiful spritework for some of the areas, intuitive usage of TMs/HMs and some logic (ex. Field Effects that emulate anime battling in turn-based rpg such as Corrosive Field; using Rock Smash to break the glass in some areas to solve puzzles, etc.), actual difficulty that hinges on how much you understand Pokemon (ex. IVs, stats, EVs, etc.) that’s fair but still difficult, puzzles and rewards for exploring and coming back to areas, etc. Fantastic game that I wish Gamefreak had attempted to emulate (perhaps not the darker themes but the ambition basically). Has some kinks with the revolving door of characters and such but still fantastic. Also offers custom shiny sprites, custom egg sprites, and online play like Wonder Trade and battling.
2. Pokemon Rocket Edition-Not done but I think this is a fantastic hack so far story-wise and how it implements its mechanics. You’re a Rocket Grunt, but you aren’t OP. It deals with the politics behind Kanto and Team Rocket. Still being worked on.
3. Pokemon Viridian Version-Another “play as a Rocket” game. Funny yet still can be serious; it takes the tone of the anime and understands when to be serious and when to not be. It feels like it would fit into the canon tone-wise, and deconstructs the “it’s cool to be a Rocket!” thing.
4. Pokemon Gaia-Excellent and a huge callback to classic Pokemon in story. It’s an OG region and offers a lot to do.
5. Drayano hacks- QoL updates but his work actually adds a lot to the games+new events.
Anyways, that’s my list. There’s a lot of Pokemon content, but this is how I feel for the most part.

Anyway I beat the main story for Pokemon Shield so here's my pros/cons list(also spoilers kinda??)
Pros
Fucking rad as hell soundtrack like holy shit it slaps and I want to download it.
Mother. Fucking. Facial. Expressions. You have no idea how much I have wanted facial expressions during the cut-scenes.
Cute clothes like damn.
In Pokemon Camp your Pokemon will act like they are talking to each other and sometimes they race and it's adorable.
I like the characters tbh and the arcs they have are kind of unexpected but very refreshing since they go against the typical Pokemon formula.
The gym battles happening in stadiums with crowds and shit is the best thing to happen to Pokemon in years like the hype is unreal.
Shiny catching is easier than it's ever been but you still have to put in work so it's fair.
Being chased by Pokemon in the wild area really does make you understand why in the other games they tell you not to go into the tall grass without a Pokemon of your own wtf (and also it's hilarious and reminds me of playing tag as a child like the perfect mix of fun and terror that comes with being chased it's nice to feel that again).
I love the replacement for the elite four like when I heard there wouldn’t be one I was kinda confused but the sports style finals and semi-finals was super fun and I appreciate how it cements that the Gym Leaders are actually holding back to be fair to the challengers and fighting them when they aren’t holding back anymore RULES.
Marnie cheering you on during some of the last battles was legit fantastic I loved the engagement.
Making your own trading card is fun and I liked the poses they included.
I actually liked the Dynamaxing it was also fun.
Getting rid of the rocks to evolve Glaceon and Leafeon was a good choice imo. I always wondered why the ice stone and leaf stone didn’t work and now that they do it feels like the games make a little more sense. I also enjoy that the only requirements for Silveon are high friendship in general and a fairy move, I never liked the Pokemon Amie/Refresh requirement.
The epic parts of the cut scenes def FEEL epic there were quite a few times where I had to hold back from shouting “DAMN THAT WAS SO COOL!!”
Cons:
I don’t think the game was worth $60.
There are a lot of places it FEELS like you should be able to explore like the castle in Hammerlocke, the lighthouse in Hulbury, and the Ferris Wheel in Wyndon. It was def a bit disappointing to see all of the NPCs talking about the Ferris Wheel and after running around trying to figure out how to get on realizing that you can’t.
I really do not understand not having a National Dex. I know this is a dead horse at this point but as far as I can tell there was no real reason for them to cut it and not having it was also disappointing since a lot of my favorite Pokemon were cut.
I also don’t really think that including 400 Pokemon as an alternative was wise. Having the options is nice but the fact that they had to cram all of them in as natural encounters kinda makes the game feel crowded and the constantly shifting weather/time of day requirements are obnoxious.
The graphics def could have been better. I didn’t get any of the major glitches but the ones that were there were distracting to say the least.
I’m salty with Nintendo in general for going the PS/Xbox route and locking the online features behind a paywall. It’s not as expensive as the other services and I like the family plan option but I feel like free internet stuff was kinda nice and I don’t appreciate having to pay for it now.
Why is the day/night cycle only in the wild area until you beat the game??? Why????? And why don’t they TELL you that?????
The Pokemon jobs are nice but sometimes they don’t tell you exactly which types of Pokemon they want and that can be frustrating.
The story is a bit railroad-y and I would have appreciated more freedom of where I can go and when. I miss being able to screw off to do whatever half-way through the game like you could in the Kanto region.
As fun as Dynamaxing is I wish it worked for less than 3 turns?? It makes the wild raids a bit harder and it feels like it should last longer.
Overall it was a fun game and I am enjoying it, but it left a lot of room for improvement and I seriously hope that in future games they give us a bit more.

Game Blondes Crystal Clear Nuzlocke Part 1!
“Hey I’m blonde!”
“…I’m also blonde.”
“AND WE’RE THE GAME BLONDES!!”
(Game Blondes Logo by @game-overture)
“…okay so what the heck is this?” Samus stared at the screen with a grumble.”
“Okay so remember when we played that Wonderlocke for Pokemon Y? We’ll be doing something similar here, well YOU’LL be doing something similar here, a Champion playing a pokemon game might be a bit overkill. But essentially this is a romhack of the original Johto games.”
“A romhack? Like AM2R? I love that game!”
“Loved, it’s gone now, but yeah, essentially. So the premise is you can freely roam both the Kanto and Johto regions without any roadblocks or plot to get in the way of getting your badges. Battles scale for your number of badges so you can do everything in any order you want. It’s designed to give the maximum freedom possible with playing the Generation 2 games, we’ll get into some of the specifics later.”
“Hmmm, well I’m already a Champion of the Kalos region from playing Y, so this should be easy now.” Samus cracked her knuckles.
“Yeah well keep in mind the later games are a bit easier, Generations 1 and 2 are where the big boys play. No Mega Evolutions, no Affection bonuses, most gym leaders have more than three pokemon, we’ll see how you do.”
“…way to fill me with confidence…” Samus sighed.
“As far as the rules, same Nuzlocke rules as the Wonderlocke, you can only catch the first pokemon per new area, and anything that faints is dead to you. Only difference between this and the Wonderlocke is there is no Wonder Trade so you get what you get. Might as well start the game though, there’s a tutorial I believe.”
“Alright so you can start with either Kanto or Johto regions, everyone starts with Kanto so I’ll go against the grain and pick Johto. Next is gender… huh, so you can pick whatever sprite regardless of gender, that’s nice. Think I’ll go with the girl and make her blue, sounds good for me.”
“Wow! Look at all these starters!”
(Mun Note: Shuckle is also an option, this pic may be outdated)
“How do I even start to pick?” Samus grumbled.
“Well since you said you want to go against the grain I’d suggest starting with a pokemon that’s not already a starter in any normal game, so that cuts out Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Cyndaquil, Totodile and Chikarita.”
“Well Magmar and Electabuzz are pretty cool…”
“True, but they’re also babies. You can’t get their third stage in this game and they’re stuck as babies until they evolve at level 30, until then their stats are pretty trash which isn’t great for a nuzlocke…”
“Hmmm true, so I can probably cut out the babies too…”
“Magikarp, Ditto, Shuckle, Unown and Smeargle are mostly for challenge runs so I wouldn’t advise it…”
“So that leaves Psyduck, Slowpoke, Seel, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Voltorb and Porygon…”
“Narrowing it down to eight’s not bad.” Cynthia smirked and put her hand on Samus’s shoulder.
“Fuck it, Porygon needs more love after the whole seizure thing. It’s a good balanced pokemon to start off with and should be pretty solid.”
“It does have a good movepool, feel free. Plus it comes with the Amulet Coin to get you more money right off the bat.”
“Porygon it is! My god is this whole episode just going to be us picking our characters? What is this a Dark Souls stream?”
“Not yet anyway.”
“…please don’t scare me like that.” Samus shivered. “Anyway, picking blue for the pokegear and item pack, looks like we finally got to the tutorial… oh god who let this guy be a pokemon professor?”
“What, you’ve never heard of Professor Shockslayer? Shut up, he’s trying to explain the game.”
“So basically what you said about free roaming and stuff scaling with badges, and I can rechallenge gyms if I want too, that’s pretty neat. Some stuff about music settings and shiny rates, that’s all good but not something I need. There’s non-canon secrets tucked away so I’ll have to be on the lookout for those.”
“Some pokemon areas have been shuffled around too so you can obtain all 251 pokemon in some way.”
“Isn’t there like over 1000 pokemon though?”
“This is generation 2, simpler times.”
“Many regular encounters are resettable by beating the Elite Four, good to know but again not something I’ll probably need. And every TM is purchaseable in the TM mart once I get enough badges.”
“Oh yeah, unlike Y TMs aren’t reusable, so you can buy them but they’re one use, sounds like a fair compromise.”
“That doesn’t sound fair to my wallet!” Samus huffed. “Oh! I can have pokemon follow me too, that’s pretty cool! And now we can finally start the game!”
“It’s okay, we’ll make this episode a little longer since we’re just starting out.” Cynthia chuckled, watching Samus dive in.
“Okay so Porygon needs a nickname, I’m thinking… Polly.”
“Polly? You know Porygon are genderless right?”
“Well she identifies as a female okay?”
“Porygon said Trans Rights!”
Samus laughed as she put in the name, shaking her head. “Alright let’s get going~
“So if you have a Porygon named Polly that’s a pokemon, a pocket monster….”
“…don’t say it.”
“Does that make her Polly Pocket?”
“FUCK! Your bad puns are going to get us sued! Lemme just run into this tall grass and shit. Awww look, Polly’s following me, how cute!”
“Anyway the Professor says I need at least one badge before he’ll give me shit, so I’ll just go find some pokemon and start building. …great a Rattata.”
“Hey at least you start with some pokeballs to catch it with.”
“Why do I want a rat!?” Samus growled. “WHAT!? He broke out of the ball twice!? That motherfucking rat get in my balls you little shit!!I only have five pokeballs and I wasted three of them catching a fucking rat!”
“Two pokemon’s always better than one.” Cynthia shrugged.
“I guess… let’s just keep going, what should I name it. It’s purple, so I’ll name it Verde.”
“Verde means green…”
“I’M NAMING IT VERDE!!!” Samus huffed. “Fuck, the very next encounter was a Hoothoot, that would’ve been so much better…”
“Oh hey there’s a route up there, you can try again.”
“Hmmm shit there’s a battle, Polly got two levels from freezing that Ponyta solid, let’s try Verde versus this Pikachu of the same level.”
“…well Verde’s dead.”
RIP Verde: Lv. 3 – Lv. 3, Route 29- Route 46
“Well that’s great, first battle and I already have a casualty… at least Polly finished it up handily.”
“And this is why we didn’t pick a Baby starter.”
“Oh hey, a Geodude though, that’s a much more useful Pokemon. Alright, a critical hit and a quick capture. It’s a female so what to name it… it’s a female Geodude so “Dudette”.”
“How creative…”
“Are you here to help or make snarky comments?”
“Snarky comments, to much help from a Champion would be cheating.” Cynthia chuckled.
“Well with one dead rat, one living N64 sprite and a boulder, I’ve made it to the next town. I can go anywhere from here huh? I could go back up to Route 46 and see what’s up there or continue from Cherrygrove here along the normal path… let’s keep it safe for now and take the north path, get some more pokemon. I already have one dead pokemon so no time to take risks…”
“Oh wow it’s a Poliwag! That’s really cool for this early on!”
“I love Poliwag! Let’s catch it!” Samus grinned. “Oh fuck thank god, I forgot to buy more balls and Poliwag got in my last one… but that just makes me even more mad that I wasted three balls on a rat that died five minutes later!!”
“Can’t win them all, especially in a Nuzlocke.” Cynthia shook her head.
“Well at least I have a couple good pokemon now, got a good water-type to cover some of my bases. I really need a Town Map though, where’s Gary’s hot-ass sister?”
“…in Kanto.”
“FUCK!”
“Well your map is built into your pokenav now so you’re fine.”
“Good, well anyway lemme name this Poliwag… it’s got a swirl on its tummy, like a spiral, spiral power… Shimon, yeah let’s go with that.”
“Who the hell do you think he is!?”
“Going back to the Mart and getting some more pokeballs and two antidotes, I’ve heard Nuzlocke horror stories about poisoned pokemon, not taking any chances. OH SHIT IT’S YOUNGSTER JOEY! He’s got the best Rattata in the world! I’ve seen the memes.”
“…he sure went down easy.”
“I guess the best Rattata in the world is no match for a lower-tier Geodude.” Samus chuckled nervously. “Alright, next route up, found a Gastly and caught it! Since it’s a Ghost I’ll call him Danny. And let’s see, going into the Dark Cave right now is possible, but going in there blind would be insane, so let’s not do that and just go to Violet City.”
“Well we’ve got a gym in Violet City, this is where Falkner and Sprout Tower are for you to explore.”
“Yeah, but you know what the fun part of this romhack is? FUCK IT! We’re going straight to Goldenrod! Let’s go! Road Trip! Let’s see, got the Rock Smash TM from this dude, onto Route 35, got a Drowzee, naming it Yume~”
“Yume huh? Doesn’t that mean Dream?”
“Yup! I know some of my languages and stuff!” The bounty hunter giggled. “Got a Spinarak on Route 36 and named it Peter. Man I am just burning through this routes, though feels like I’m running in circles. Oh hey, this dude gave me a Magnet cause it’s Sunday!”
“We’re recording this at like 11:45pm so you almost missed that by like 15 minutes…”
“Well got a Hoothoot on Route 37, named Hooters of course. I planned to go to Goldenrod but I’m in Ecruteak now, such is the nature of Road Trips.”
“You have no idea where you’re going and you have a fucking map, open world exploration was a terrible idea for someone like you…” Cynthia sighed.
“Well wherever I’m going I found the National park and caught a Psyduck named Headahce.”
“Watching you burn through this game with no regard to story and just catching things left and right is hurting my heart…”
“Hey who’s this guy feeding the ducks in the national park? DOOM? That doesn’t sound like a normal name… This must be one of those non-canon secrets the tutorial was talking about… does he have a super strong pokemon that’s gonna take my team out?”
“Only one way to find out…”
“Apparently if I lose I have to pay for his lunch. He says he only has Ponyta… HOLY SHIT HE HAS A SHINY PONYTA!!”
“I can’t catch that right?”
“That would be stealing.”
“FUCK! I want it! It’s a blue flaming horse! That shit’s so cool! It’s not very strong though… he says he’ll pay for my lunch instead now and there’s a place in Goldenrod he goes to for lunch… guess that’s where we’re going next! We’ll go to Goldenrod after all!”
“Better go stop off at Ecruteak again to heal up before you go, you’ve walked like halfway across Johto and you’ve only been playing an hour, this is fucking with my head.”
“Alright, gonna make a pit stop and then we’re heading to Goldenrod to check out this restaurant… NEXT TIME ON GAME BLONDES!”

Krenko’s Guide to Pokemon: Mr. Line
“If a tree falls in the woods, and nobody is around to hear it, and it hits a mime, does anyone care?” ~ Gary Larson
DESIGN
Mime Jr.’s actually pretty cute, looking like a tiny little silly clown. The design is a bit generic but also very effective, making it a creature with just enough clown parts so that you know it’s a clown without so many clown parts to look terrifying. It also manages to look a lot like one of those clown-faced ice creams you can get at some places, where the cone is upside down as a hat. The point is, Mime Jr. is a small, cute pokemon that works perfectly fine.
Next is “Kantonian” Mr. Mime, and I put that in quotes because this Pokemon isn’t actually Kantonian. As with Farfetch’d, Mr. Mime is called Kantonian because that’s the first region we as players could get it, but the only ones available in Kanto outside of Let’s Go are either from trades or from the game counter, plus a very tiny amount that appear in the grass patch south of Pallet Town in Gold and Silver but not Red and Blue, implying that someone in Pallet Town has been breeding and releasing Mr. Mimes, and I’m not going to say who, but we all know these Mimes are a certain protagonist’s half-siblings, don’t we?
So where is Mr. Mime from? Well, we’ve established that the first Mr. Mime we met, Marcel, didn’t come from Kanto, and there’s no Mr. Mime in Johto, Hoenn, or Unova. Alola’s a weird one, as they don’t appear in Sun and Moon but they do appear in both Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Still, they’re only in one location and Alola is known for having many imported Pokemon. Sinnoh’s a possibility- while the Trophy Garden is clearly cultivated, Mr. Mime and Mime Jr. both appear in the wild in Diamond (but not Pearl). Still, I think the actual natural habitat of this Mr. Mime is the Reflection Cave in Kalos. Not only would a mime Pokemon make the most sense in the Kalos region, but it’d make far more sense for it to be living in a hall of mirrors than simply wandering grasslands as it does in Diamond. Further, this is in much closer proximity to the Galar Region, where Mime Jr.s and Galarian Mr. Mimes wander freely. Thus, for the rest of this article I’m going to refer to this creature as Kalosian Mr. Mime.
And Kalosian Mr. Mime is terrifying. This thing is so Uncanny Valley that it goes down to becoming some sort of Uncanny Trench where light vanishes and there’s no hope for escape. It has all the most terrifying aspects of a clown, with a vaguely human form that isn’t quite right, hair that resembles horns, and an uncomfortably close relationship with your mother. Its bright coloration and curly feet are just sort of haunting, giving the illusion that it’s wearing clothes while in actuality that’s all just part of it’s horrible, horrible body.
In contrast, Galarian Mr. Mime is much friendlier looking. The pants help a lot, but so do the big gloves and the nose. It looks less like a monster and more like a cartoony man, and while it’s still weird to see a Pokemon that’s so humanlike, this version doesn’t feel inherently wrong and unsettling. Much better design here, unless the goal is to freak people out. That said, I just don’t buy this as an evolved form of Mime Jr. Galar really needed a Galarian Mime Jr. to finish the set, because as is Mime Jr. turning into Galarian form in Galar and Kalosian form anywhere else just feels off. The other weird thing is that Galarian Mr. Mime, with its new focus on tapdance, doesn’t still feel like it should be called Mr. Mime. It’s something I complain about a lot with alternate forms, but if a creature’s called Mr. Mime it should be miming, not dancing, and if a creature’s called Sandshrew it should be sand based.
Visually, I love Mr. Rime. He’s got all the charm of Galarian Mr. Mime but now has a silly hat and an ice cane. He also gets the red bubble on his stomach back from being a Mime Jr. which makes me question why Galarian Mr. Mime doesn’t have it. Mime Jr. links fine to Mr. Rime, but through features lost along the way, like its hat and its big red poofs. Mr. Rime is also clearly Charlie Chaplin, and I love the pun of its name in that it’s both Rime and Rhyme.
EVOLUTIONS:
Oh god this line is a mess.
First we get Mime Jr, which has first form starter stats, but evolves when knowing the move Mimic. With no TM or TR, Mime Jr. learns Mimic at 32, finally evolving into a Pokemon whose stat total is still a bit small for a final form. If it’s not in Galar, it stays a Psychic/Fairy type. If it is in Galar, it becomes a Psychic/Ice type, which then evolves again at 42 into something that’s not actually that big a boost over its previous for, making Galarian Mr. Mime a good user of the Eviolite.
And then Mime Jr. is an incense baby, so if you breed two Mr. Mimes (and you can because despite the name half are female) you get a Mr. Mime if you’re not using incense. This is a stupid mechanic that they need to get rid of.
As with Farfetch’d, the fact that the original doesn’t get a new evolution while the regional form does bothers me, because it doesn’t do anything to bring the original back into playability, it just gives us a new different Pokemon that makes the original less relevant.
I will say Mime Jr. was a good addition. While some baby Pokemon are a waste of time, Mime Jr.’s actually a really solid early-game Pokemon, and Mr. Mime’s strong enough that it shouldn’t be appearing until mid to late game anyway. Adding Mime Jr. adds a lot of playability to this line in PVE.
Art by Zerochan923600
TYPING:
Kalosian Mr. Mime spent a lot of time as a Psychic type until we actually went to Kalos and found out it was a Psychic/Fairy type this whole time. Defensively, this is decent. It only has three weaknesses, and while it only has three ‘resistances,’ one of them’s a double and one of them’s an immunity. Offensively, it’s super-effective against four types and neither type works well against Steel… but that’s Steel, and most things don’t work well against Steel.
Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime are Ice/Psychic types, with their only competition in that type combination being Jynx and the legendary Ice Rider Calyrex. Defensively, this is a really bad combination, with six weaknesses and only two resistances- Ice and Psychic themselves. Offensively, this gives super-effective options against six types with only Steel as a shared resistance.
Art by DarkraiLady
STATS
Kalosian Mr. Mime has a whopping 120 Special Defense, but a mere 40 HP, seriously inhibiting its ability to actually tank, and only 65 physical defense. It’s 100 Special Attack is respectable, but Speed 90 isn’t really enough to make a sweeper out of it, even with Nasty Plot.
Galarian Mr. Mime balances its stats a bit, trading Special Attack and Special Defense for a bit more HP and Speed, but the only thing here that really works out in its favor is that it can equip an Eviolite, turning it into an actual defensive Pokemon, albeit one that still has poorer HP than most.
Mr. Rime brings up most of its stats as evolutions do, but weirdly drops its speed from 100 to 70. It manages to be more defensive than average post-evolution, but its key stat becomes its 110 Special Attack. Overall, its stats are fine, able to dish out hits and take them, and its worst stats are only a bit below average.
Singin’ in the Snow by Pizapioart
ABILITIES
Kalosian Mr. Mime and Galarian Mr. Mime have entirely different abilities, with Mr. Rime having another.
Like Electrode, Kalosian Mr. Mime can get Soundproof, and there’s plenty of Sound based attacks out there, making this a decent defensive option. This improves in 2v2 where you can pair it with Boomburst.
Filter, a near-Signature ability of Mr. Mime, is another powerful defensive option, reducing the damage of supereffective moves from 2x to 1.5x. As you can reasonably expect most opponents to have Poison, Steel, or Ghost moves somewhere in their lineup, you really can’t go wrong with this.
Technician increases the power of any of Mr. Mime’s moves of 60 power or less by 50%, and in theory this is a good ability, but Mr. Mime just learns all the good moves anyway. There’s no reason to use a Technician’d Confusion when you can learn Psychic, or a Technician’d Magical Leaf when you can learn Energy Ball. Skipping this should be easy, because it’s Mr. Mime’s Hidden Ability.
Galarian Mr. Mime (but not Mr. Rime) gets Vital Spirit, which grants immunity to sleep. This is fine and usable and plenty of enemies will try and put you to sleep, but this isn’t the reason you’d be using this Pokemon.
Mr. Rime gets Tangled Feet, which is a garbage ability for garbage Pokemon. Nobody needs raised evasion when confused, what they need is to not be confused.
Ice Body, hidden ability of Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime, causes a Pokemon to heal in Hail. Of course, every Pokemon that can get this, other than the not-fully-evolved Seel, takes no damage in Hail anyway, and it really takes a fully defensive playstyle to worry about using your ability on sometimes healing 1/16th max HP a turn. There are ways to build Mr. Rime for this, but it’ll involve other Poekmon on your team setting up the Hail and wanting it, too.
Besides, Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime have the signature ability “Screen Cleaner” which negates Reflect, Light Screen, and Aurora Veil upon switching in. This ability is honestly the best reason to use these Pokemon, more than anything they’ll actually do once on the field. Any ability that has an effect on switch in tends to be good, because as long as it’s something you wanted done, you basically just got a free action.
Art by PeregrineJazmin, formerly Retkikosmos
MOVES:
Psychic and Psyshock are both great options for your primary attack form. Psychic is a bit bigger, but as you’ll have a special move of your other element to fall back on, Psyshock adds a bit more versatility.
Kalosian Mr. Mime’s only Fairy attack is Dazzling Gleam so you take Dazzling Gleam. Galarian Mr. Mime/Mr. Rime gets your choice of Ice Beam, Blizzard, or Freeze-Dry. Freeze Dry has the drawback of being weaker most of the time, but extra strong against Water Types, which are rather common. Blizzard is more likely to outright end something, but without Hail its accuracy is rather poor.
Coverage options are pretty wide for the mimes. Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast are available to both, with that last one being super effective against the Steel types that resist Psychic, Fairy, and Ice.
If you think you’ll get a moment to build up, Nasty Plot is always a great move, as is the more defensive Calm Mind.
Mr. Rime gets two particularly interesting options: it can Rapid Spin, which combines well with Screen Cleaner to reset the field, and it can learn Slack Off, the normal type equivalent of Recover.
The Mime family’s move pools are actually rather deep, and there’s plenty more options in there, like Hypnosis, Reflect and Light Screen, Baton Pass, Iron Defense, Stored Power, and, via older gens, Healing Wish.
Art by albrt-wlson, which I have to assume is short for Albert Wilson, but might actually be Alberta Walesong.
OVERALL:
I love to hate Mr. Mime, though overall the whole family winds up in the range of ‘fine.’ Mr. Rime’s speed loss is its biggest hit, but other than that there’s a lot of good stuff it can do, especially with both Screen Cleaner and Rapid Spin. Having below average speed on a Pokemon with so many weaknesses is a problem, but with such a strong variety of moves there’s a lot that can make up for it.
Kalosian Mr. Mime, unfortunately, really needs that stat boost that Mr. Rime got or the ability to use Eviolite like Galarian Mr. Mime, and it just doesn’t have either.
The other thing that really bugs me about Kalosian Mr. Mime is its abilities or lack thereof. In flavor, Mr. Mime is THE Barrier Pokemon. Reflect and Light Screen are supposed to be what it does better than anyone else… but it just isn’t. Sure, Soundproof, Filter, and Technician are interesting, but I’d have loved to see Mr. Mime have something like Prankster or an ability that mimicked Light Clay, anything to say ‘this is the Pokemon that is best at Reflect.’ Honestly it’s a problem I see in the game a lot, a Pokemon having a specifically mentioned ability or a clear signature move that the Pokemon just has no reason to use. At least Mr. Rime clearly wants to use Teeter Dance with Tangled Feet, even if that strategy isn’t a strong one.
It just really bugs me when a Pokemon isn’t good at what it’s supposed to do, even if it’s good in other ways.

Pokémon SoulSilver Randomized Nuzlocke [Part 1]
Since I haven’t fully learned from my mistakes, hey! It’s time for another Nuzlocke. With extra Randomizer action for reasons that are going to be very apparent as I go through this set’s rules.
I’m going to try what this person on the internet calls a Chainlocke, though with slight alterations for the sake of sanity; basic idea is that my catch Types have to be linked. If I catch a Grass/Poison pokemon, my next option has to have one of those in common.
That gets thorny really fast, which I guess is the point, but I’m more about wacky fun than serious challenges. So to make things more entertaining, I will be randomizing every pokemon in the wild, as well as NPC gifts and trades. All the other Trainers keep their original stuff. I get to be special.
So. Rules:
Only the first viable pokemon of each route may be caught.
Gift pokemon are cool to use.
In-game trades are also cool.
‘Viable’ in this case means that they must have a Type in common with the most recent caught pokemon.
The starter will be starting that chain despite not technically being caught by me. Because I feel like it.
Each pokemon must receive a nickname.
If a pokemon faints, it is considered dead. It will go in an appropriately named box in the PC.
In the event of a team wipe, the run will continue with whatever’s left (alive) in the PC.
And that’s about it. Let’s kick it.
No.
I can’t remember if this version does the all-caps for names or not. In any case, this protagonist avatar will take on the name Sunny. Because I am in a warm and welcoming mood, ready to make all the new creatures I encounter my friends.
I love how they have Lyra use the mail system.
Someone has to.
It certainly won’t be anyone playing these games.
Okay, based on how Lyra’s Marill is discussed, human names don’t get the all-caps treatment, but pokemon do. What does this mean for my nicknaming schemes? No idea. The hour is late and I don’t care enough.
-rubs hands together-
Hmmmm.
...
Dude.
Get out.
Hmmmm.
I can’t pick Cyndaquil, because what even is the point if I do that. Sableye I’ve never been so interested in as a true companion. Dewgong is fully evolved, and I hate starting out with that.
However.
I never get to use Dewgong.
Seel is never anywhere convenient.
DEWGONG WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
Shaped like a friend.
I haven’t worked out any particular theme for this run. I can name her whatever I want. I think I shall call her Chance.
Look at how cute she is. She is adorable. Sassy and highly persistent. I declare her perfect. She also knows Headbutt! That matters beyond being a cool move in this version! Much squeeing! She also knows Growl, Signal Beam, and Icy Wind.
My next pokemon will have to be Water or Ice. It will probably be Water, thanks to Water being absurdly common. That’s cool. I like Water pokemon.
And so, without yet being able to catch anything, I head out into the world. Running my obligatory fetch quest for Professor Elm.
Huh, a Smoochum says hello. That’s a good thing to know for later. But what’s in the Headbutt tree?
...A Hoothoot. Sigh. Well, one less thing to worry about when finding pokemon.
Weedle also lurks in the grass.
Yay. Gotta go fast.
Can I buy poke balls yet?
No. Sad face.
The next route has Kricketot. Did I check the similar strength button by accident?
Then suddenly, Grumpig! Okay, sweet. Just a few Buggy coincidences. Gligar is also here.
Literally have never heard of you. You have a boring name. No one should ever copy it ceaselessly for a gag that no one sees any value in.
Hello, a wild challenger approaches! With his super duper Totodile! Headbutt it, Chance. Headbutt it into submission. Good girl.
Uh. There’s not enough room for it.
Perfect.
I love how Silver’s most defining feature is his red hair.
After a short visit home to tell our mom we are far too irresponsible to be trusted with all of the money we’re going to earn from mugging other children, plus a short tutorial on catching things, we can finally get started!
Smoochum is the only thing available in the routes we’ve visited so far, but I haven’t checked out the northern one right outside the starting town yet.
But the walking takes the decision out of my hands! We encounter a level 4 Smoochum, and as per the rules, that is what I have to go for. Lest I kill the route.
...
I killed the Smoochum.
I guess that answers my question about its Typing. Ruh roh. Signal Beam was a mistake. For multiple reasons, now that I’m taking a second to think about it. Whoops. Any game that requires me to think is screwed from the start, honestly.
So now we search for something else to catch.
Route 46? Be nice?
Carvanha! That’s a Water! Can catch!
In theory. It’s broken out of two pokeballs. It’s also level 2, so I don’t think I can risk attacking it.
.I’m going to run out of balls, aren’t I?
I think I have to risk an Icy Wind. I’m on my last poke ball. I don’t really want to leave it purely up to the mood of the RNG.
Chance apparently doesn’t want friends.
She got a critical hit.
Two dead routes! Okay!
Still needing a Water or Ice Type!
Also more Poke Balls!
One of those problems I can fix. As for the other, inb4 the Mystery Egg and whatever I get from Bill are the only other teammates Chance ever has.
We march through the trainers between us and the next town. Certain of nothing but Chance’s ability to murder them all.
Route 31 has an Elekid as the first thing I see and the rules say I can’t catch it. What horrible person came up with this. Seviper and Lopunny are also here. Those I care less about.
Dark Cave? Help? Mayhaps?
A Golbat appears.
Okay.
Before we think too hard on that, I’ve gotta say that I do love how gen 4 does the caves. They are very gorgeously cavernous, and the few times I bother to think about the background art, I enjoy walking through them.
But yeah, is there anything in this cave that is not a Golbat?
Route 31 has a Butterfree.
These are things that do not help me.
The person who usually gives you an Onix for a Bellsprout in whatever this city is (Violet) offers a Corphish for a Kecleon. Things to keep in mind if I ever find a Kecleon. That I can catch.
In no version of this game have I ever done this egg thing. I was unaware there even was an egg thing, since anything that requires me to pick the right word out of the hat of words bores me to tears. Then I started watching too many people play Pokemon games on the internet.
-Googles how to get egg-
So normally, you can get a Mareep, Wooper, or Slugma. In the spirit of the Chainlocke, even though I said gifts were cool, we’ll take the Wooper egg. Vote now on whether or not it’ll actually be a Wooper. I don’t know how to use the Randomizer.
Hm. Iiiiiiinteresting.
Chance, Headbutt some trees on the off chance that a Water pokemon falls out, please.
It’s a Hoothoot.
I get the feeling that the Randomizer settings didn’t care about the pokemon found through Headbutting.
Route 32. Help.
Gligar. That is not help.
Rhydon is not help either. Likewise Torchic.
SQUIRTLE. THAT IS HELP.
...
...
...
Chance.
Why are you getting so many critical hits against your friends. Do you not want friends. Have I raised you to be so antisocial.
-sigh- Route 32 declared dead.
Ruins of Alph? Maybe you have someone Chance likes?
...
Why is Gligar everywhere.
I guess. I will go to the tower. With Chance. Just the two of us.
Plus the Gloom egg, which is looking like a very likely candidate for the only friend Chance will ever have. Besides the Mystery Egg we don’t have yet.
(Also Rock Smash HM get. Yaaaaay.)
Local level 11 Dewgong beats up 3 year-olds.
So many dead Bellsprout.
I haven’t run into any wild pokemon here, yet. Sadness. We will never know which new friend Chance was going to kill next.
SURPRISE!
It’s Medicham.
Chance kills it.
Partially because I can’t catch it anyway, partially because that is just what Chance does. Her sassiness belies her murderous intent.
Flash obtained with little fuss, and time to move on to Falkner. He of the coolest name. Yet another Gym Leader I wanted to be as a child. Even if he uses nothing but birds. Falkner is just the coolest name.
Oh, and it looks like there’s also Roselia in this tower.
I can’t do anything about it, but that’s nice.
I love how each generation of pokemon decides the Gyms need to be more extra.
They’re right and they should say it.
-five seconds later- Well that went by quickly. Good girl, Chance. Your murder spree continues. And our prize? Picking up the Mystery Egg! Which gets to be a genuine mystery for now! Chance! You might have a friend! In pure spite of your best efforts!
Time to spend an hour doing nothing but walking. I normally wouldn’t be so interested in hatching the eggs, but. I would kind of like to have a promise of Chance not being completely alone this entire game.
One down! His name is Cloud! He is... also Sassy (Chance, is this why you let him stay), level 1, and alert to sounds!
!
whatisitwhatisitwhatisitwhatisit
...Wow. Something I actually could have gotten legitimately in this Chainlocke. In theory. In a world where Chance is of slightly different temperament.
Her name shall be Sleet. She is Quiet and likes to run.
Hm.
I remain unsure if I’m going to actually use either of these new friends. The spirit of what I’m going for with this doesn’t really work with me just being handed two random Official Teammates. I might change my mind after a few more routes of things not going well for me, but for now, I think I’ll mostly stick to me and Chance.
..Though before I do..
They’re both level 1. I can be nice and not set them up for death. They can make it to level 5 before we say a cordial farewell. I can grind in this game. I can be nice.
-ten minutes later-
-tfw Ivysaur also lives on Route 32 because Route 32 is starter central-
Niceness done, let’s get on the road.
The road takes us, and our level 17 Dewgong, to Union Cave.
If you squint, this looks like fanart of a sleeping Sandslash.
Will we find the Water or Ice pokemon our team longs for here????
You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Uh.
Let me look up the rules for evolving Feebas in this gen. Because Feebas is pure Water. If I can’t evolve it, I’m better off killing it so I have more options available with what I can catch.
...
The internet says I need eight massages from Daisy (Blue’s sister. in Pallet Town.) to max its Beauty so it can evolve.
Chance. just. just do the thing. we all know how this ends.
So dies Union Cave.
Awww, how cute. A Shaymin. Now just one of the many corpses littered at Sunny’s feet. Hariyama is also here. A floor below, it’s the return of Grumpig. Plus Yanmega for the first time. Girafarig.
-SIGH-
Route 33. Do you want to save us?
Weezing.
WHISCASH. GIMME. CHANCE, SWAP OUT AND LET CLOUD HELP.
AT LONG LAST.
WE HAVE.
THE CHAINLOCKE’S FIRST CATCH.
FLUDD, WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
NEXT CATCH?
WATER OR GROUND!
LET’S END IT THERE WHILE THINGS ARE STILL GOOD.

That Viva Pinata-esque game. Got a few more ideas.
It would be in a more stylized low-ish poly, for the sake of trying to make it run on multiple system setups. Also I personally love when people focus on putting their all into the animation quality. And this should be one of those games that have an animation > graphic complexity mentality.
Critters do not evolve in this game, but can definitely age up (no worries about them getting that old they die however, these guys are ageless until eaten).
Also can be specifically trained for jobs (like the whole guarding of crops thing mentioned <a href=“https://finion591.tumblr.com/post/187088879825/games-i-would-want-to-make-but-cannot-yet“>in the last post</a>). Training follows a positive reinforcement logic (aka they do something you want them to do, you give them a treat and they will try to do it again) and everything your critter currently learns (either by themselves or from you) is tracked in their infos/stats. You get them to unlearn unwanted behaviours by distracted them to do the things you’d rather want them to do.
At the start of the game you’d need to occassionally check back on the critters you fully trained for a job so they don’t get demotivated without lengthy periods of treats, later in the game you can hire a worker to do the job if you want however.
You can absolutely pet each and every critter. Also hand feed most of them.
Each critter type follows a certain uh, shape design- Like, Stone critters are based off of squares, plant critters off of triangular shapes and the sand critters off of circles/ round and flowy shapes.
Also as for backstory on the importance of gardens... This plays on a small island chain where independence is pretty much a neccesity. Everyone has a garden or works for people with gardens. There is also no money, you trade goods for services instead. Kids and Elders usually help in the gardens of relatives if they do not have school/ are too sickly to work. Mind you, they have an excellent health care system! The garden committee eventually developed for the sake of bragging rights but it’s optional, albeit lucrative to go along with their monthly challenges.
The Critters aren’t really magically despite looking like it. Most of them have passive bonuses. Stone Critters produce minerals and occasional gems, Plant Critters can procure free seeds or help various plants grow, Sand Critters do very well with other critters and can keep their mood up, they are also known to attract water-only critters and dig up ‘treasures’.
I am a little torn on how to handle this completely but for now: Each individual species has it’s own personality modifiers (besides what time of day they are active) and then a slight random modifier is applied to the individual. So some critters of the same species might be faser learning than others, or more efficient in their assigned jobs, or need more food and whatnot.
Biggest thing to figure out yet is, of course, what kind of animals are going to be used. I do not want to make a carbon copy of Viva Pinata.
So far the listing is as follows (don’t mind the categories ahaha):
Land Dwellers: Domestic Dog, Domestic Cat, Orchid Mantis, Donkey, Tree Frog, Toad, Tortoise, Kakapo, Gecko, Frilled Lizard, Lemur, Maned Wolf, Gazelle, Chicken, Lion, Cobra, Tarantula
Air Dwellers: Crow, Heron, Bat, Fruit Bat/Flying Fox, Bee, Mosquito, Swallow, Magpie
Water (includes amphibians) Dwellers: Sea turles, Mudskipper, Eel, Octopus, Shark, Salmon, Crab, Lobster
You can also encounter rare versions of critters! Melanistic/Amelanistic versions for any Critter, Overgrown Stone critters, Dried Plant Critters (which look a bit more spooky but are perfectly healthy!) and Glass Critters (rare version of Sand Critters).

READING AND WRITING
So let's find out which one came first ! Reading or writing? In my modest opinion I would say it's like the chicken and the egg. Which one was first we don't really know. Yet I can say and I know that numbers were created thru mere lines that were added to one another so that starting with the number one a straight line ; then two, an angular one at the bottom of the one and then three with yet another one etc etc! Of course after that we composed more esthetically pleasing figures that made up today's Latin numbers! If we look at the alphabets of the world starting from the Far East we can easily see how this evolved into the alphabet as we know it in our country ! Starting with bold and simple lines in Chinese it became rounded without completing the circles in Arabic and finally became the Latin alphabet in the western world! Yet when did the people actually start writing letters to one another and why and were they still carving and etching into stone to send messages to one another we don't know ! I am sure that there is pretty good documentation in the world almanac! We people of this century who have forgotten these difficulties will probably not understand nor find it that interesting anymore . I still visit countries where there are a lot of seniors besides children who are learning to spell and to read! They come from villages without the ability to get proper education ! Then they cherish this newfound trade to read whatever is published or handed to them. They love to read the news in a simple letter or newspaper ! Yet we; the lucky ones snub the news be it fake or not and sometimes prefer viewing TV and movies instead of reading. Be it this way or not ; don't you think that reading especially books ought to be a two way communication ? I mean instead of receiving the text from the writer we should also be capable of asking or placing our own opinions as well. Thus we can understand what he or she wanted to say and why! Wouldn't it be interesting if we could do that? I know that some books have given different endings to their stories depending on the variety of options . But again the majority of books are written to address the issue or story from the author's point of view. Today the ones who publish or can; do that through monies to market their books . The new who are very good or lucky sometimes prevail ! Otherwise in this competitive market a writer may not have the chance of the book going public. That is sad of course ! That being the truth and once the author has made his or her debut then they have to come up with more and more books! This some times makes the author lazy and then they hire a professional writer with good editing qualities who helps them in producing more and more books of the same kind ! Yet this wasn't that way before ! We don't see too many Tolstoy's or Dostoyevsky's and Shakespeare's! ! These great authors who already established themselves in a time frame when the stories were interesting and the literary accomplishments were remarkable ! Shakespeare with his many stories that presented human emotions and behavior in many ways spread these across continents and made indelible imprints even in the days of no internet and poor communication devices ! The visual technology has also brought out many actors who now portray the words and characters of these authors in a remarkable manner ! Sometimes instead of referring to the book we visualize the actor who brought it to life! Yet every day when we watch these shows maybe many many times we forget that they are not true but acting! Are we fooled that easily ? Maybe ? So once more we can go back to reading and pick up the book where we can imagine the characters as they are portrayed in the words and give them the emotional and physical imagery that we want ! So how do we choose the books we want to read? Is it a friend who tells us that they liked that book ? Is it the curiosity we have towards that kind of action or story? It's probably both ! The same way people guide us to go to such and such a restaurant because they thought that the food was great! Tastes and color are subjects we don't discuss ! Cause they are variable ! Anyway getting back to books and reading ,we already know that in today's world there is a lot of fake information! That is true from the beginning of world history ! Every author writes his or her opinion and story! There is the famous story Rashomon a Japanese classic when many different people describe an event and thus they write that many variations of a story ! Imagine! To top it some of these people are even dead! Those writers who serve royalties like emperors or great companies are mostly assigned to these posts to document the achievements of the peers? The higher sources which dictates them want to see positive remarks about their accomplishments! Be it true and sometimes not! Yet there are others who see happenings around them just as they are and report them like decent journalists with proper resources! They tell these events through their own eyes and resources ! Bravo! Yet there are also liars ! The phishing in writing and producing fake news both in books and other written format was started years ago! War time was the best period of false news and intended propaganda so that they could incriminate and destroy the country opposing them ! Incriminating their leaders so that they would be despised was purposefully done and even went down in history even though they were lies! Some of these authors wrote these hate books that were supposed to be published in fifty years or later so that the person in question would not be able to defend themselves ! Just think how history was twisted to befit those slandering authors with their malicious books ! Indeed even today when someone sends written remarks over the social media how many of us readily accept the news without even checking the source or truth! Yes my friends writing and reading are great tools to be carefully examined before we take them to the level of acceptable or true; no matter what ! Let us not forget that even though there are people children or old who are new and want to learn the alphabet so that they can become educated and enjoy the thoughts of others there are those who abuse the system and yet go without punishment because of a certain freedom that we all have yet sometimes tend to ignore ! Writing is putting black on white ! It is as important as etching or carving the stone before sending it to the another person . I found out that my grievance period was diminished after the death of my parents because I opted to write ! This was a great time for me to get out of my inner thoughts and emotions ! If anything this was and is a great way of releasing ones inner feelings! But before sending it to someone please read it many times cause you may want to rethink those thoughts and examine those emotions once more! May there be many more true and different writers who can bring us back to our interdependent life style !

Volkswagen Dealerships - How to Find the Best Deals
Introduction:
Your guide to new and used car dealerships near me! Whether you're looking for a Volkswagen dealership, or looking for any other type of vehicle, we've got the information you need. We hope you find this helpful as you search for your next vehicle purchase. The auto industry is one of those industries that are constantly evolving. This means time and time again whether you're buying or selling your vehicle, deals need to be made based on your personal needs. With so many different brands out there and differing price ranges, finding the best dealership for yourself can seem a bit daunting at times.
Things to keep in mind for finding Best Deals:
Price:
With all of the different price ranges out there, you need to find the right one that fits your budget. Some dealerships, like Volkswagen Dealerships, offer both new and used vehicles, with different price ranges depending on which one you choose.
Location:
While many people may not think it's important to consider location while shopping for a new or used car, it is actually a very important factor. The location will determine what distance you will have to drive to get there and if you really need to go so far just to look at cars that may be out of your budget range in the first place.
Services available at the dealership:
While some dealerships may offer more services than others, you'll want to know what services are available should you need them. Some dealerships offer extended warranties on vehicles and others will allow you to trade in your used vehicle for credit towards a new one.
Customer Service:
Customer service is very important in today's business world as we are always looking to get the best possible deal while still having good service. Dealerships may be willing to give you a better price if they feel like you'll be happy with their service afterwards. You want the best of both worlds - a low price and great customer service for your new vehicle purchase.
Conclusion:
Of course, you'll want to keep in mind that you don't need to settle for the first dealership you visit when shopping for a new or used car. There are plenty of other options out there and it's likely that you will be able to get a much better price at another dealership if you spend some time doing your research. In another case, you may decide that the other dealerships are too far away from where you live and it's just not worth the time and effort to drive there.
Even though dealerships can be a bit overwhelming at first glance, you should feel like you have everything under control as long as you have a plan in place. With your price range in mind, as well as where you'd like to purchase your new vehicle, it should be much easier for you to find a dealership that will fit your needs. If not, there are plenty of others that can and will give you what you want.
Antwerpen Volkswagen offers a new and used Volkswagen selection, as well as an extensive car maintenance and repair facility. Our staff of knowledgeable and experienced salespeople are here to help you find the vehicle that's right for you, at a price that's right for you. Volkswagen vehicles are known throughout the auto industry as being reliable and stylish cars that are known to last through all types of weather conditions without fail. Of course, this reputation comes with having excellent quality vehicles designed by one of the best manufacturers in the industry.

“Though Peter and MJ remained friends in the aftermath, they went on to date other people, and none of the subsequent pairings were intriguing enough to really wash the taste of OMD from fandom’s mouth.”
Hey genius can I let you in on a secret?
NO pairing is EVER going to do that.
You and a lot of other folks out there seem to think the Spidey/MJ relationship was merely the ship within the spider fandom that happened to last longest or be most famous.
It wasn’t.
Peter and MJ within the fandom, maybe within Marvel itself, are essentially along the lines of Lois and Clark now.
There is NO POINT pairing either of those characters up with anyone because there is nobody else better suited to them and there is no creativity to be had. The same applies for Peter and MJ.
We are talking about two characters who developed TOGETHER for 20 years BEFORE they got married and then developed whilst IN a relationship for 20 more years.
It’s a relationship that stopped being ‘optional’ for the franchise before a lto of people reading this were even born.
Because of this NO relationship Can be intriguing. Shit they paired Spider-Man up with BLACK CAT and that didn’t work because we crossed the point of no return so very long ago. You know how DC had to bring BACk Supermand and Lois’ marriage and handwave the bullshit with Wonder Woman? That’s because they crossed the line of no return too.
There is no ZERO creative reason for Spider-Man to be with ANYBODY else because we already know a) it’s doomed to fail because Marvel will never allow him to be with one person long term and b) We’ve already seen the best person to be his long term romantic partner and it was Mary Jane. Her entire character is one big compliment to his character for god’s sake.
Why the fuck do you think there is even a Renew Your Vows book out right now?
“But what if instead of looking to the past, Marvel was able to introduce a new love interest for the wall-crawler, one that had the potential to make fans forget all about “One More Day?” Well, it looks like longtime Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott may have found the perfect formula with Spider-Man’s current girlfriend, Mockingbird.”

Spidey dating Mockingbird is enough to make fans forget THE WORST SPIDER-MAN STORY OF ALL TIME????? And ONE of the worst MARVEL stories of all time? People haven’t even forgotten he fucking CLONE SAGA and that ended 20 years ago!
“ It’s not uncommon to see Spidey involved in a team-up adventure with a fellow superhero, but he and Mockingbird displayed obvious chemistry from the start of their working partnership.”
No...No they really didn’t. Event he picture you posted, which by the way wasn’t from the start of the series, doesn’t display that.
If we were to be kind we could say it displayed standard cookie cutter quippy hero action banter which by this logic is enough to say that Spidey has chemistry with Captain America or Iron Man.
But if we were being less kind...the image LIERALLY calls out how Mockingbird is NOT laughing at Spidey’s jokes and cannot even tell if he IS joking.
That is literally showing you they DON’T have chemistry. God dammit do CBR writers even know how to interpret shit?
“What began as innocent flirting while beating up bad guys slowly evolved to Peter and Bobbi as a legitimate item.”
THAT ISN’T FLIRTING THAT’S JUST THEM TALKING! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU DUDE!
“Spider-Man and Mockingbird began without much fanfare, but they really seem like a perfect fit for one another. This is what Spidey’s needed for years to finally get over the lingering bad will left by “One More Day.””
Here is a challenge for the author and anybody reading this.
Why?
No seriously, give me SPECIFIC reasons with SPECIFIC examples about their SPECIFIC lives and personalities to EXPLAIN why they are the perfect couple as opposed to you just shipping it because it merely exists or for the same reasons people actually genuinely believe Spider-Man and Deadpool would make a good couple despite in canon reasons to the contrary?
Go on...I’ll wait....
“But one downside of their relationship was Peter always fearing for MJ’s safety.”
One downside of the relationship was danger, tension and drama the kinds of which police officers (a job being a super hero is equivalent to) has to deal with in real life, real life being the thing Spider-Man the EVERYMAN hero was DESIGNED to emulate. FFS.
“Mockingbird, however, is a superhero and super-spy in her own right. While Peter would no doubt have some of the same worries with Bobbi as he did with Mary Jane, he knows Bobbi has the necessary skills to fend for herself. ”
a) MJ owned a gun, knew some martial arts and defeated Swarm, Norman Osborn AND the Chameleon on her own b) Again...you are literally explaining why it’s more boring for him to date Mockingbird. Good job
“Plus, relationships between superheroes tend to make for more entertaining comics, scenes like the one below, where Peter and Bobbi trade crazy scenarios that only a fellow hero would understand.”
Peter could do that with ANY hero. He could do that with Black Cat even if he WASN’T dating her. Moreover again, knock knock McFly, Spider-Man isn’t SUPPOSED to engage in this fantastical stuff beyond just putting the costume on. His normal life is SUPPOSED to be relatively NORMAL so his romantic partner and him should not spend most of the time talking hero shit.
““One More Day” left a bad impression with Spider-Man fans, but Spockingbird is proving compelling tales can be told, not only with the wall-crawler having a significant other, even if it’s not Mary Jane.”
Meanwhile in Renew Your Vows where Spider-Man is MARRIED to a superheroine...who is also Mary jane even BETTER stories are being told a bagillion times more compelling mostly because they are working with 2 characters with an ACTUAL relationship and romantic chemistry.
“We’ll have to wait and see if Spockingbird has a happy ending that includes wedding bells for Spider-Man and Mockingbird, but until we get there — if we get there — it looks as though “One More Day” might finally be able to be left in the past.”
I repeat:
