I think I'm about done with this pre-time skip version. I'll likely fool around with graphics before I start working on the post-time skip version just in case there are more glitches or oversights I want to fix before I move on.
I'll also be redoing the "progress report" page.
Glitches and oversight fixes(?):
-Some people couldn't move after leaving the lab after getting their first Pokemon, so I took a guess at what the problem was, tested it out (with Rebecca and Kai's intro on) and it seems to be working now.
Misc:
-Good news, everyone! It seems like the bad weather schedule is working! (Though it's very possible that I missed some characters.)
I might make a separate thing where they'll still go from building to building if the weather isn't dangerous, if that's even possible. (Though this might be in the expanded version only.)
-Gave Esmaralda a unique request.
-Gave Kai a unique request.
-Spun the placeholder request to fit Jayce as a unique request instead.
-Gave Kiana a daily request where she'll ask to see a Pokemon and will give you something in return. It doesn't activate until you sleep in your bed. (This wasn't on the physical list of things I wanted to do, but I did think about doing this for a while now.)
-I think I successfully made it so there's a random request everyday. (Activates after you sleep in bed.) It's pretty self explanatory if you interact with the board.
-Moved Kai to look at the "special" berry trees on your farm during winter time.
Blog:
-I added a description of what it means when there's bad weather to several different guides. (Guides that shares schedules and the guide to Pomona Town.)
-I added (most of) the other villager's schedules (finally) because I kept forgetting them. (I'm still forgetting some.) I added them to the "villagers" page.

So my account was terminated for like, a day, and I have no idea why. I didn't get an email and I decided to just check to see if it was still terminated the day after.
So I spent all of my time transferring everything I could though Google Documents by using what I could get through the Wayback Machine. I'm not sure if I'll bother updating the "progress report" page (with strikethroughs) but I guess I'll be updating everything else through there, just in case.

Being the champion
Being the champion works a bit differently in this game than it does in... Probably any other Pokemon game that has Gyms and an Elite 4, fan or official. Though part of it is kind of similar to the Gen 7 games.
Becoming the champion has extra perks:
You will get $50,000/month for as long as you are the champion.
You will get a small vacation home with furniture you can use, like a radio, a kitchen and a TV. (You can buy these items in Ceres, too. They're free in here, though.)
You can just waltz right into the Elite 4 area just to say "hi" to it's members, battle them casually.
But there's a catch. After you become the champion you will be obligated to return to the champion's room once a year to challenge anybody who enters.
If you don't do this before the end of the year, the title of "champion" is given back to the original owner and you'll have to do the entire challenge over again to get it back.
Similarly, if you lose while doing that challenge, the person who beat you will take the title and you'll lose your perks and will have to start over to get them back.
So far there are 6 different trainers who can challenge you. (This is how it's similar to the Gen 7 games.) The game will pick at random. I'm not going to tell you who those trainers are to avoid spoilers. I will tell you that you would need to unlock one of them before they will try to challenge you.
You might already know some of them, and they might be hanging around the region. That doesn't matter. Even if you can see them where they usually are, they'll also be waiting for you in the Pokemon League. (This is just so you're not forced to wait until a certain day to challenge them.)
I didn't give them different teams when they're champions, (so far,) so their trainer class will be the same when you battle them as champions. (Even if it doesn't make any sense.)

I usually try not to get blatant with my political leanings here, but I kind of have to now.
I might have to remove the gay marriage and the they/them options from the game and totally change one of the characters. Project 2025 includes making any queer representation being legally considered as "porn." It also plans on banning porn. So basically this stupid fan game might become illegal if I don't make major changes to it.
I'm not planning on doing that until it has to happen, but it might happen sometime in the future.

For of all I just want to say that I lost my wisdom teeth and it was a tough recovery for me so that's why I've barely done anything in the game for weeks now.
Second, more BETA and ALPHA Pokemon from Gens 3-5 were leaked. I might add those if I can find a use for them. (I'd have to make my own back sprites for most of them. I'd also have to "fix" them since the person saved the image as a .JPG. They're also big, but that shouldn't be a problem.)
But it's pretty clear that they're otherwise mostly Pokemon that they redesigned later on, rather it was for Gen 3 or later. (Latiken got to the sprite making stage though, so that's cool!)

Download 8/18/24 (Major update!)
Link that takes you to the download page
This is a much smaller major update than the previous ones. That's because debugging gives me so much trouble, so I wanted to just get the shit I'd need the debugging part for out of the way so I can finish the major social parts of the game.
What I want to do with Pomona town's residents and your children and spouse(s) might be complicated to develop. It will probably take a long time to finish.
But I do want to have two things available as soon as they're done- an extra event with your spouse(s), and rival events.
Story:
-You can now go through Route 7.
-You can now go through the second half of the Victory Road.
-You can now challenge the Elite 4 and the Champion.
--Becoming a champion will give you extra perks, but also an obligation. (See below)
Pokemon:
-There's four new Pokemon available to catch. The Pokedex is (probably) complete.
There is a chance that you can't catch the Komarai Pokemon though. I have no idea how to easily test roaming Pokemon.
Blog:
-Added the four remaining Pokemon to the "moveset and abilities" page.
-Added the Elite 4 and finally updated the trainer sprites for the Gym Leaders in their page.
-Added a new page, "Being the champion."

Update 8/17/24
I'm pretty much done. I just need to do some minor things, set up the post detailing the new stuff and upload the game. Then I can focus on what I think will be the last major update that focuses a lot more on the social stuff. (Like marriage.)
Story:
+I was going to end Victory Road with a battle with your rival. (As is the standard.) But for some FUCKING REASON Pierce won't fucking battle you, so too fucking bad I guess!
Of course he'll battle you if I isolate the fucking battles. FUCK I hate RPG Maker XP so fucking much!
+Defeated the Elite 4 and became champion. Twice (I wasn't satisfied with how the credits went, but I don't really feel like changing it right now.)
+Tested a couple of events where you'd have to have a certain Pokemon in your party.
+Tested a small event with another Pokemon.
+Tested another event that'd lead to two roaming Pokemon. I have no idea if the roaming part works or not. I'd have to encounter one of them by chance.
Pokemon:
-Make the shiny Pichu line whiter.
For context: The "spiky eared Pichu" from the gen 2 remakes was originally going to be white, but there was a miscommunication problem.
I also decided to make some of the shittier shinies (the ones who look too much like the original) stand out more. I chose to make the Pichu line's shiny "white" because of this. Except they were more gray than white, soooo I whitened them up a bit while waiting for the game to compress.
I'm also turning the brown spots brown again.
Misc:
-I slowed down one of the trainers who's swimming around in Atargatis Beach.
-I got rid of Kiana's "whoops I forgot the Pokedex" letter from the mailbox. (I thought I already did this.
+I added one of the champion perks. (Again, I thought I already did this. Oh well. I'm glad I caught it now and not later.)
+Tested out all of the "champion perks."
+I tested out what happens when you lose said perks.
Glitches and oversight fixes:
+I spelled "false" as "falce" at least twice in one of the text files. The fuck is wrong with me?!
+Here's a fact that's not very fun: I can't connect maps anymore for some fucking reason. So most of the surf routes aren't connected. (Some of them wouldn't have been anyway.)
Here's another not fun fact: You automatically stop surfing the second you go into a different screen if it's not connected. So I have to have awkwardly placed sandy spots connecting each of the maps together.

Graphics:
-Adjusted some points on the map so they would fit to the actually "points" of the map. (Not totally accurately, though.)
Misc:
-Finished labeling the map.
-Removed the "teleporting tiles" between the two Route 3 maps, since that one glitch seems to be an actual bug only on that one player's end.
-Made it so Kiana will give you the regional Pokedex right after you choose your "first" Pokemon. (I thought I already did that.)
-THANKS TO @kyedix AND FL YOU CAN SET CONTROLS NOW!
+Finished the "Credits," maybe. Going through the script was pretty restrictive so I might just do my own using files in the "Pictures" folder and text directly on those pictures if I don't like it.

Originally I was going to just add in the two Pokemon again AFTER this build, but some things happened (apparently my brain broke) and I ended up having to fix some things after I added in those Pokemon.
Since I'll be testing the map I can easily just use the "dev" switch to go beyond the map's limits without having to worry about anybody else doing so, which means that I don't have to have a period of time where I can't fix any bugs anybody reports until I'm done.
Misc:
+Added music to the remaining maps.
+Filled the rest of the map with trainers. Maybe. (So far.)
Blog:
-Added the two new Pokemon I want to add here.
-Answered "can you change the controls?" in the FAQ.
-Removed the "social" things from the "development progress" list, since I'm getting frustrated with everything else and I kind of just want to get the region itself done and uploaded so I can focus on the social stuff.
Pokemon:
-Attempted to add in those two Pokemon again. Did it work? I don't know yet. I didn't get any errors FROM THEM so maybe?
I lost the TMs file with their names in it somehow, so they can't learn any yet. (Not that it really matters right now anyway since you can't get them yet.)
Glitches and oversight fixes:
-I might have fixed Pierce's Halloween battle.
-I might have fixed one other thing with him. I can't say what it is without spoiling it. (It barely mattered anyway, but still.)
-When I tried to compile the new data an "error" message popped up saying that I misspelled some moves. Which also means that I forgot to compile the files before attempting to upload the game.
Whoops.
Here's a list of what I misspelled somehow:
"Slugebomb" instead of "Sludgebomb"
"Twist" instead of "Twister"
"Rubblebeam" instead of "Bubblebeam." TWICE!
Not a single Pokemon's name was misspelled, by the way.

Link that takes you to the download page
The people who made the version of essentials I'm using stopped with the Pokedex numbering after Gen 2, and some of the ones that are there are just messed up. Like Caterpie's regional dex number is 10, but it's national dex number was 24.
When I changed the regional dex number to 13 and tested it, it did show that it's regional dex number is 13, but the national dex number is 10, which is what order in the Pokemon.txt file it's in.
I don't understand the point of the second number if their internal number is going to be the national dex number anyway. (But I was going to do it that way anyway, so it works out I guess.)
Sooo besides most Legendaries, I think the only Pokemon not available in the game that are coded in are Brionne, (Kalani's first Pokemon,) Torkoal, Unown and Cryogonal. I might just sneak those last three in the cave at some point. (I'll think about it.)
Because I can't fucking debug I can't actually fucking guarantee that any of these changes actually happened, but,
Pokemon:
-Finished the regional dex. (Maybe.) Some of the ones that will only be in the national dex might not have a blank entry. (And I might have forgotten some.)
If you're wondering why some of the last Pokemon in the dex are normal, everyday Pokemon, it's because I forgot to include those in the original list. (This includes evolutions. I somehow forgot that Whismur is a three stage Pokemon, for example.)
I might renumber them sometime. Might.
-Lowered the level Komuno needs to be at to learn Swords Dance from 36 to 30 and added "Iron Tail" to it's moveset.
+Added a new legendary Pokemon when it's own event. I'm not going to tell you how to activate it, though.
+Filled every map that I wanted to have wild Pokemon with said wild Pokemon. (So far.)
Misc:
-Redid the "trading chain" thing. I wanted the traded Pokemon to be ones that you can't get in the game until way later, but I kept adding Pokemon in the wild, including those who were in the chain.
I'm going to have almost every one of these Pokemon available in the wild right before the Elite 4 just in case you got rid of one without breeding it first. (All but the last one.)
-I decided to cut Communa Village from the chain thing. I like what I did with it and since Communa Village isn't a "main" town anyway I figured that I'd just have that trade be separated from the chain.
She'll now give you a Klefki for a Smeargle.
Glitches and oversight fixes. MAYBE.:
-Apparently one of Umeko's events (I hope I got the right one. All I was told was "the broken one") would ignore the "don't fucking turn this switch on anymore" switch and repeat itself, so I attempted to fix it.
I never had these problems when I fucked around with MV. 'Just saying.
I also didn't have debugging problems when I could use the version that isn't the Steam version of XP. 'Just fucking saying.
-Some people just can't get to the two Route 3 maps for some fucking reason, (even though it doesn't happen on my end) so I have teleporting tiles between them now.
Blog:
-Added that same forgetful Pokedex explanation on the "glitches and oversights" page.

Not being able to debug really fucking limits what I can do.
Story:
-I MAYBE fixed one of Umeko's heart scenes.
-I don't fucking know what's fucking wrong with Mary/Angela in Melinoe's gym so I just fucking deleted her.
Pokemon:
-I might have fixed some of the wild Pokemon in the available routes. I had to do it through the .txt file and compile it which is always a gamble. (That's my preferred method of doing things otherwise.) I'm not even sure how they got fucked up in the first place.
+I might have been able to shove wild Pokemon in most of the remaining areas where they'd appear. (There's one remaining, but I have to change the "trading quest" first. Before that I have to finished the regional dex.)
+I started on the regional dex. (Not that that really matters right now.) I'll explain my process once I'm done with it.
Blog:
-Answered the question "will you make a list of Pokemon and where they're located?" in my FAQs.

I can't debug again. That's just FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!
Blog:
-I'm going to keep "finished the map" uncrossed for now until I'm satisfied with it. (Or at least until I think that it's "good enough.")
+I started on a new page for the next major build. What it's about isn't important right now. :)
Glitch and oversight fixes:
-Redid parts of Route 3 and Fulgora because I'm so shit at lining up maps correctly.
-Removed Alderic's face from some of the Season 1 calendars. (His birthday is in Season 2.)
Misc:
+I finished the Elite 4 members.
+I finished the extra Champion challenge. (For the most part. I might add some trainers to that.)
+Finished the Champion's perks. (Unless I want to add more later.)
Pokemon:
+Added two new Pokemon. Maybe. Probably not. God this pisses me off so fucking much.

I couldn't check to see if there were more glitches before I uploaded the last build. I had it compressed for a while, so when I had access to the internet again I uploaded it, made that post and passed out.
Glitches and oversight whatevers:
-I accidentally had you exiting to Tellus instead of Atargatis when you leave Atargatis' mart. I checked every entrance/exit but I guess I missed that one. (I only found out when I left the mart while debugging.) I fixed it.
-Mary in Melinoe's gym wasn't working, so I replaced her with another Silent Hill character.
It's kind of freaky that it was Mary who didn't work properly, considering who I named her after. I mean, I think I know why it was her, but still.
My intrusive thoughts almost gave the new character a Honedge. That is way too fucked up so I gave her a Chandelure for symbolic reasons.
Misc:
-I replaced Maria's Pokemon. (Maybe. I replaced "Mari's" Pokemon, but I still had the trainer's name as "Maria" and she still worked so I dunno.)
-Communa Village and Route 3 are no longer connected through maps. This is an attempt at hiding how horrible I am at making maps. :)
+Made a couple of trainers who are important to the story. (Or lack thereof?) I just have to implement them into the game now.

There was an internet outage so when I wasn't asleep I was working on the game.
Glitches and oversight fixes:
-I switched the "intro" so you don't play as the dev this time. (LOL)
-I didn't think that anybody would try to go through Fulgora's gym the long way instead of using the teleporter so I forgot to make sure that you'll go to the right map. I fixed that. Maybe. I didn't actually check to make sure that it'd send you to the same door that sends you to the gym leader's room yet.
I don't know why the fuck it sent you where it sent you before. I'm just assuming that that shit just happens when you're forced to use something that's 20 years old to make a Pokémon fan game.
Misc:
+I'm almost done with the Pokemon League. I got the "trainers" part mostly done. I just didn't edit the Pokemon yet because I didn't have access to Smogon to help me figure out how I should have them.
+I might have finished the map. It's kind of underwhelming though. I am almost definitely going to go back to it and add or change some things to the new maps.

Link to the blog page that has the download (I actually updated the details this time!)
Story:
+Finally finished Souma, meaning that I can finally start testing this build.
Edit: I lied. I'm not done yet. I completely forgot about the winter maps.
Misc:
-Changed the intro so instead of playing as the first two options you now play as the player you choose and it won't change unless you're able to use the custom clothes feature. I dunno why I didn't do it this way in the first place. It's so much easier this way.
-Added a little Easter egg in the intro house.
+I think I successfully changed it so you won't be forced to have a child. The countdown for the discussion to have a child shouldn't happen until you buy a crib or two.
