I think my big issue with Arknights is just, the time limits for stuff, and how the whole gacha setup rubs against my completionism OCD.

If you're not in a good headspace to play during an event, there's usually a rerun... eventually... but it'll be just as short-lived, and the version that does eventually get added to the permanent sidestory menu even later on has been stripped of a lot of the extra stuff that further contextualized the story, Maria Nearl being the worst example so far with Stultifera Navis likely to get the same treatment. Really hard stages are fine when I have as much time as I want to take a break and upgrade operators before trying again, but every single event gives me burnout now, regardless of whether I was even able to finish it or not, and more often I can't. Tuye and Scene and Erato are locked behind CC, the worst gamemode that can only be reasonably farmed when it's in season, and when it's in season it's the worst fucking gamemode and then some. In general, with all the mechanics and gamemodes and different ways to improve operators and stuff that have built up over time, there's literally too much to do and not enough time to do it all, let alone watch the long-ass cutscenes, short of devoting every waking hour to it and it alone.

And if you weren't in a place to play the game when Originum Dust was running, haha, fuck you, you're never ever getting those Operators. Ever.

And it's still better about accessibility and player health than the competitors.
