𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱 - 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: matt's been showing you less attention recently, all your emotions hit you at once while your alone in your apartment, but matt shows up.
contains: fluff (a lot), smut (matt the munch), crying, swearing.
-----------------------°°••....••°°----------------———-
it's been 2 days since matt's reached out, he hasn't texted, called, not a single word from him. 2 days isn't that long, but he's been distant lately.
i'm laying alone in my bed, the house is empty and obnoxiously silent. whenever i'm alone my emotions get the best of me, i hate crying in front of people.
i roll over, my eyes flick up to the time, 11:47pm. i let out a deep sigh as i see an Instagram notification appear.
'matthew.sturniolo made a post'
i click on it, liking it as i scroll through the mutiple pictures, its him ,nick, and this other girl ive never seen before. my heart sinks as i see his hand, which seems to be holding her hip.
"what the fuck.." i groan, wiping my eyes, everything makes alot more sense now.
everything hits at once, i feel the tears start, after a few seconds it turns into sobbing, my mascara streaking down my face.
abrubtly the door to my room creaks open, i slam my phone down, launching my body up.
its matt.
i instantly lie back down, rolling my body over so my back faces the door. "hey y/n!!" he says, unaware.
he turns on the light, i pull my blanket up over my head, holding my breath as i try to slow the tears, it doesnt work, instead a loud sob escapes my mouth.
i hear matt pause before he speed walks over to my side of the bed, he pulls the blankets off of my face, im met with his face, worry painted across his face.
"oh fuck, are you okay sweetheart?" he says, cupping my face with his hands as he leans over me bed.
"go away matt." i say in between crys.
he places a kiss to my forehead before walking over to the other side of my bed, crawling in next to me.
"matt i said go away-" i say, raising my voice but he cuts me off.
"shh.. i know i know" he says, wrapping a hand arounds my waist and tugging me close to him. "talk to me please." he says, anxiety clear in his voice.
i cuddle close to his side, laying my head under his armpit as i drape a thigh over his. he rubs my arm as he waits for me to answer.
"you havent.. talked to me.. in 2 days." i say in between sobs. i feel matt tense under me, "i know, youve been on my mind the whole time but ive been unbearably busy, you know i love you gorgeous." he says shakily,
"don't lie matt!" i raise my voice.
"y/n, stop it please." he says, his voice stern.
"no!" i yell, matt holds me close to him as i try to move away from him. his grip firm, but not painful on me.
"you were holding her!" i shout, matt's eyebrows furrow.
"y/n, who. who was i holding."
"that girl in your post." i mumble with a deep sigh.
"who, cassie? that's nates little sister, you know Nathan." matt closes his eyes as he plants a kiss in my hair.
i go silent, feeling slightly humiliated. "oh." i say, my voice breaking.
"can i show you how much i love you." he whispers, playing with my bra strap. i nod as matt pulls my blanket off me.
when matt and i usually hook up, we both put in equal effort, but matts made it very clear he doesnt want me to do anything.
"get comfortable," he says, slowly pulling down my sweat shorts until they bunch at my ankles. he taps my hip, signalling for me to lift it up, i comply, raising my torso off the bed. matt places a pillow under my lower back.
"you ready?" he asks softly, maintaining eye contact. "y-yes.. please."
matt spreads my legs, positioning his head between my legs, he places gentle kisses on my inner thighs, getting closer to my heat each time, i feel goosebumps form on my body as he places a light kiss on my clit, which is covered by my panties.
he reaches his palm to my legs, spreading them further. "good girl," he says, his breath hitting my inner thighs. he reaches his two finger up, pulling my panties to the side. he blows out cold air directly onto my clit.
a soft moan escapes my mouth.
he licks a stripe from my hole to my clit, i move my body into his mouth, desperate for more, his noses brushing against my pelvic bone. he grabs my hip with his spare hand, reaching two fingers down and teasing me.
"please!" i whine, squirm slightly, he grips onto my hip tighter before pressing two fingers inside of me. "oh my fuck.." i groan as he slowly pumps his fingers in and out of me.
i throw my head back, reaching my hand down and interlocking my hands with his hair. his mouth attaches to my clit, a desperate moan exiting my mouth as he continues to curl his fingers inside of me.
"im gonna c-" i whine, gripping his hair tighter, i clench around his fingers, releasing. matt slowly pulls his fingers out of me as he raises his head up, looking at me. his cheeks are flushed, a small amount of white painted on his cheek.
he places on last peck on my sensitive clit, before wiping his face. "you okay?" he asks, his voice barely audible as i catch my breath. "yeah.." i mumble, "thank you matt".
matt gets out of bed, walking over to my side of the bed and picking me up, cradling me as he walks us into his bathroom. "you're perfect ya know?" matt says, turning on the bath. after a few minutes he places me down in the tub, his hand on the back of my head so i don't hit my head.
he sits on the edge of the bath, still trying to wipe his face clean.
"im sorry matt."
"what no, its fine i like it?" he says defensivley.
"no, im not talking about the mess i made on your face, im sorry for yelling at you earlier."

i went off with this accidentally but it's a cool idea
Put your music on shuffle, play 5-10 songs and you have to make a musical with them, reblog and put the songs in the tags and how you would turn them into a cohesive story.
#always by blink-182. francis forever by mitski. free your hate by kmfdm. girl by salvia palth. not allowed by tv girl. hm#let's see here#two main characters. let's say they're two fucked up deranged lesbians#they loved each other a lot and girl 2 is getting a little distant while girl 1 is holding on. constantly being more physical and clingy#girl 2 leaves. girl 1 is devastated#she doesn't know what to do without her ex lover#there's some sort of time skip or this has just always been going on#there's like. an apocalypse sorta thing going on due to authority basically acting like a dictatorship#girl 1 and girl 2 go their separate ways and let go of the hate they have for#each other now and they hate they have for their fucked up society#by turning into like ... fighters. they take part in riots and rebellions in separate storylines and let out all their rage on that#but eventually. after things have died down a little and when they're either victorious or falling back they start thinking about each#other again#they start thinking that they want each other again#one night girl 2 drunkenly texts girl 1 on like a flip phone or something#both of them are VERY emotional#after a little bit of plot they start seeing each other again#but they have to do it quietly under the shadows of their fucked society#girl 2 still often gets with other people as well#which girl 1 is conflicted about#but still. they're sort of a thing again. and they see each other in the form of slinking behind alleys#writing to each other in hard to decipher poems#and maybe going at it in the back of secret bars

A girl running in the rain, clutching her purse to her chest and heavily breathing while frantically looking in every direction. Her scared pupils and parted lips allowed the heavy and forced inhale and exhale of air, raindrops sliding into her mouth. Her heels were almost making her lose her balance, she didn't want to fall down or she would get caught.
The rainfall intensified with loud growling sounds of lightning. The only thing that was going through her mind was to run away from the two men following her. She took a sharp turn around the road and hid behind the car.
Pressing her palms over the mouth and wide eyes stared at the distant road ahead. Her house was still a few blocks away and the feeling of dizziness returned but she scooted into the darkness and suppressed her fear and the sound of her panting.
Soon, within a few minutes, the footsteps came into her vision. Two silhouettes making their way towards the alleyway and in fact, that needs to cross the car which was hiding her scared form. A series of hope and prayers rushed to her mind and fell from the lips and mentally supported herself to stay stronger.
The scared pupils followed each step they took. The moment they stopped and looked at her direction, her breath hitched and cursed under the breath when she noticed them coming towards her exact direction. But before she could shift an inch, someone pressed their palms over her ears from behind and then she could hear the sound of two faint gunshots.
"It's okay, y/n. you are safe."
The soft voice from behind you and the stranger's hands touching your skin made your eyes shoot open and you shuffled forward, keeping your distance from the person. The first instinct in you worked was to look over to the place where two men from earlier were but to your surprise, there was no one. You stood up from your place and quickly stepped out of the darkness and you screamed.
Two bodies were lying on the road. The two men who were following you while you were returning from the café were lying on their own blood pool.
"Hey, calm down."
The same voice again spoke up and you quickly looked behind to see a boy, maybe around your age, was standing with a little smile but to the contrast of his facial look, his outfit was different, oh the gun holder strap on his waist and the belt designed over his black jacket. He looked scary with an angel face.
"Who are you? Are you going to kill me? and and how do you know my name?"
He nodded to himself before taking a few steps forward but before he could walk any farther, you yelled at him to stop and the way you were scared, he instantly stopped. There were few other footsteps coming from both of your sides. One, two...three...seven figures appeared under the streetlight. The rain was still pouring but it was less intense than before as if it had also got scared by these men.
"Who are you all? What is going on?"
The boy who was standing a few feet away from you smiled again and introduced himself, "myself Yeosang. We are just here to take you back home."
"home? I don't understand what you are saying." You were pleading with him not to hurt you and a different boy from the seven figures surrounding you but keeping a safe distance from you spoke up, "there's nothing to be scared of, y/n. you are Mr. Lee's daughter and we are here to take you to his place."
They know my dad...they are here to kidnap me to know about my dad's business but......he is dead and I can't ask for help from him. I don't know anything about his mafia business.
"I don't know. I am not close to my dad. He is dead. What else do you all want now? I know nothing about him. Please, I am telling you the truth. You won't get to know anything from me about him. I really don't know."
"We know he is dead. That's why we are here to ensure your safety. We are here because your dad isn't there to protect you." The tallest one of them spoke up.
You shook your head and stepped back when the dizziness from earlier returned. It did get noticed by the oldest one of them and he caught your limp body, "y/n, it's raining. Let's go home and then we can discuss everything."
You pushed him from you and stood straight on your heels, "no, I'm not going anywhere. I can't trust you. You all are lying."
"Didn't your dad tell you about the leaders of his organization?"
" he did..."
"We are the leaders of the organization, the most trusted gang of your father, Ateez."
You stared at them because the name is familiar but why to take you to somewhere you never went before. Your life was always at risk and that's why your dad kept you hidden but maybe his death led to uncovering your identity to other mafia gangs. But if they are the leaders under your father's organization, that does mean they are on your father's side.
"you all are my dad's men?" you asked in a low voice. The drizzling rain was pinching your skin, should you trust them or not. The thought was itching your mind.
"We might be mafias but we are always loyal to our boss. Please come with us." The leader extended his hand with a smile.
And you trusted them.
Taking the leader's hand and grabbing it with a hope to be safe.
You never thought ever that this was going to change your trajectory of your whole life.
“We are here to keep you safe.”

In the bustling city, amidst the towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, there existed a huge, tightly-knit advertising agency called "THE GUERRILAS".  For two years, the agency had been led by a charismatic and respected boss, Mr. Lee Sohyun. His sudden demise due to a heart attack had left his men and the successive leaders reeling with shock and grief. Among them, Ateez, his loyal gang and the main future successors took the initiative to take over his place with announcing their gang leader as the new boss, who all had worked closely with him for over a decade. Every other being in the company supported the idea and welcomed the new project of the company.
As the agency mourned their loss, Ateez stumbled upon a startling revelation buried within Mr. Lee's personal documents – he had a daughter, Lee y/n, from a previous relationship. Despite his private nature, he had never mentioned the daughter to anyone at the agency. Determined to honor their late boss's memory and fulfill his unspoken wishes, Ateez embarked on a mission to find his daughter.
“I didn’t know he had a daughter.” Seonghwa stated while looking at the documents presented by his gang member, Yeosang.
The leader, Hongjoong nodded, “He really hid her well but after his death. Many men betrayed him and leaked his personal information and the least we can do is to start with protecting his daughter.”
“Then let’s find Y/n. I hope we can bring her safely.”
Months of diligent investigation led them to a quaint town in the upstate, where you resided.
Their several initial attempts were failed missions.they certainly didn’t want to scare you but also not to give up in their enemy’s hand. So, they planned to approach you slowly and cautiously.
Unless that day when you were followed by members of an enemy gang and they saved you from danger.
And that day you accepted a new fate in your life.
Moved by Ateez's sincerity and touched by their efforts to connect with you, a wave of emotions hit your heart. Over cups of tea, you delved into heartfelt conversations with them, sharing memories and anecdotes about your father. Despite their vastly different backgrounds, you found solace in their company, united by the love for the man who had brought them together.
you listened intently to their explanation of the situation after your father's death, your emotions oscillating between disbelief and curiosity. As they shared anecdotes about your father's life and their time together at the agency, a bittersweet realization dawned on you – finally found a piece of your father's past that had long eluded.
"You don't have to be polite or formal with us. Think of us as your friends. You are our boss's daughter." The young boy smiled at you.
You chuckled, "Wooyoung, I'm trying. I think it would take time but this new place and new people and even staying with you all is such a new experience for me."
"You can come to me anytime. I am always here to accompany you and make you feel at home."he said and brushed his hair back. He glanced at you, who was smiling admiring the beauty of the garden. "Do you want to take your father's position?"
The question caught your attention and quickly turned towards him, you noticed him avoiding your gaze and gulping, "No." The answer was direct and simple.
He again questioned you, "why? Don't you think you are the actual successor of the boss?"
"I don't know a single shit about this life and also, I trust Hongjoong. You all proved your loyalty to my dad. You swear my protection and extend his hard work. So, you all are the actual successors." He nodded at your words.
"No cursing from a pretty girl." Yunho approached you two and handed over a sweater to you. You looked at him with a questionable look.
He held the sweater in front of you and urged you to put your hand inside the sleeves, "don't catch cold in the early morning while wearing just a full sleeve shirt. And Woo, can't you wear a full sleeve?"
The said man rolled his eyes at the tall one and sat on the bench with crossed legs, "I will be off to gym in half an hour. No need."
Yunho placed his hand on your shoulder, "would you mind a little walk with me?"
"Of course not. I would love to explore the neighborhood."
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and you found yourself drawn to their warmth and resilience. You admired their strength in the face of adversity and their unwavering determination to carve out their own path in life and also protect you in the process.
In your presence, they discovered a sense of belonging they had never experienced before.
As their bond deepened with you, they grappled with conflicting emotions they never thought possible. They had sworn to themselves that they would take care of you, but their feelings for you were evolving into something more profound and complicated. Torn between their loyalty to the late boss and their burgeoning love for you, they found themselves at a crossroads.
"Surprise!"
The boys in the living room turned towards the voice. You were exiting the grand space of the kitchen area with a huge cake in your hold. Carefully, placing it on the table in front of them, you placed your hand on your hips and waited for their remarks.
The leader was the first person to tune in with the surprise, "what's a cake for?"
"You all did well on your last mission and for the past few days, all of you were busy so I decided to bake a cake for you all today as I noticed none of you left the house. No work?" You expectantly looked at them.
They exchanged a few glances between them and before Wooyoung could say something, Seonghwa smiled and got up from the chair. The royalty of the grand hall of the mansion was sitting right with his rich mafia look even in just a plain black shirt and pants. He approached you and patted your head, "we don't have work today. Do you have something to say? Or to do something?"
You nodded and turned towards the rest of them, "have a taste of my most ordered cake. Before moving in with you all, I used to work at the cafe in my previous place. And people requested this cake everyday."
"Really? Then we should taste it. We are getting the privilege to have a demanding item without showing our powers." The leader said between his endearment of tasting your cake. You cut them a few pieces and waited for their reviews.
They hummed in the delicious taste of the soft cake and you got a collective of compliments.
Yunho was the first person to ask for another piece, you happily cut him one. He watched your happiness. The way you reacted to each of their compliments, the nervousness and feelings shy but still managing to keep yourself steady.
Yeosang proposed the idea that they should open a cafe near their place where you can train some workers and also be able to have some time to spend in a different atmosphere other than staying at the mansion. Jongho supported the idea.
Mingi raised the topic of your safety but San volunteered to check on you often and won't let anything happen to you.
>>>><<<<
The idea did come to light and led to action. You got work to keep yourself busy when they are not around but this definitely lured a danger.
Someone kept a watch on you. The strange feeling was creeping in your skin but you neglected it with the thought that San might be somewhere out of sight and spying on the place for a possible danger.
Once when you went to the mall with Mingi and Jongho, you got bumped into a person and got a scratch on your arm with a sharp object.
"Are you okay, y/n?" Mingi's concerned voice appeared and held your arm. "Why is it bleeding? What happened?"
"Might have scratched something. Don't worry, it will heal soon."
Well your assurance was not enough for him. The way he handled you around the mall, asking you whether you're  uncomfortable or wanted something. You wanted a chill hangout not both of them to worry about you.
But the beautiful time you all were having got disturbed when you suddenly fell unconscious. They both were shocked but reacted quickly to take you to the medical wing of their base.
You were poisoned by that scratch. But it couldn't affect much and spread properly. You were under threat and needed more protection and they made sure of it.
"San, people are assuming you as my boyfriend at this point." You groaned after pushing open the door to your cafe. He rolled his eyes behind you and glared when he noticed a young boy staring at you both entering together.
He pulled a chair and sat near the counter where you were placing the things to start the day. "I don't care about their opinions. Your safety comes first. And-"
"Hey! I guess, I'm invited inside the cafe too." Jongho entered the cafe and winked at the man sitting. You nodded, "of course you are."
He didn't have any schedule for the day so opted for hanging out in the cafe. You turned towards San and asked for him to complete what he was saying but he shook his head.
The days went normal, nothing to worry about. Everything was going as usual.
.
.
.
"You three are also leaving?" You pout and lean back to the table. They chuckled at your reaction and Seonghwa approached you, patting your head with an adorable smile, "we will be back soon. And Yeosang will be here to accompany you."
"Can't you stay together every time? Or like take me with you all."
"No!" The leader put aside the black leather jacket and held your shoulder, "we are not risking your life. There's always danger. We won't be able to control ourselves if something happens to you."
"Oh...but I feel scared for you all too. Just take care of yourselves. I am not strong enough to protect you all but......atleast I can pray for you." You felt so useless and a burden on them but Yunho quickly chimed into the conversation.
"Don't think of yourself lowl. You are our strength. We come back home and do our best and succeed in our missions with the hope that a beautiful soul and a precious girl is waiting for us. Your trust in us is everything we need to be strong out there."
Yunho is always the one to ensure that you are valuable and worth the effort they make to protect you. His warm embraces really make you believe that,
You are in love. You are at home.
The leader is always impressed by his words and also reminds you that their biggest possession is you.
"No other expensive material in the household or in the universe can be worth your value." Hongjoong and his exaggerated explanations.
Seonghwa is the one who would treat you like a porcelain doll, as if you are his daughter. Well let's not be weird with this thought. He is someone to ensure your wellbeing now and then.
"You are safe with us princess. No one can hurt you ever."
To his addition, San will buy you everything possible just in case you are not happy with something. Once when a worker pointed out you as a spoiled girlfriend and called you ‘gold digger’, he took matters in hand.
Grabbing his collar and glaring at him as if he could burn him alive and bury him there, "of course you don't have the courage or power to spoil her. But your dirty mouth can spoil her ears. And I don't like when some bugs are near her."
This is not the end, Jongho is not the one to show his emotions often but you have always liked his goofy nature with you but the majority of the time when you go out with him, he is the most mature and serious one as if he is doubting every individual glancing at you.
"I think he is spying on us." He murmured.
"You are looking around the restaurant in a way as if you want to order the rest of the items on the menu card. That's why he is staring at us." You started and went back to eating.
Mingi is the one who is always volunteering to go out with you because according to him, he fights well. So if someone attacks then he could fight back and take you back home safely. He is sometimes a bit controlling like Yunho but rest, you love his company.
"No, we are going back home. No more talking back. I'm your protector and the mafia member so you have to listen to me now."
The most important one to mention, Wooyoung. His professional side and the side with you are just opposites. Well this settles with all of them.
He encourages you to try new stuff, teaches you some self defense and also the one to try out pranks on others. You always grew up alone and wanted someone like him to be your friend and once you shared this feeling with him. You are now beautifully cursed with his presence.
"Do you want to know how to shoot?"
"No no please, that is the most intriguing thing to me but I'm okay with not knowing it's working."
He rolled his eyes, "don't be dramatic. It will help you."
"You all are here for me and... ...I..I love- I love how you are mafia members but have individual personalities that protects me and keeps me safe. Moreover, you all make me feel loved by a family."
"We are your family."
They all say this everyday. And today is not an exception.
Yeosang was on his laptop. You wanted to go out but he was too busy to even notice that. Not to make him mad, you scolded yourself for thinking to go out behind his back.
"Is it okay if I have a quick trip to the convenience store?......please."
He looked up from the screen, "what do you need, let me bring it for you."
"No. I just want to go out because others haven't been at home for the last three days and as you are alone I'm not allowed out of this house."
Yeosang always stays back or tries to be the member to protect you while all others are needed on a particular situation or missions.
He chuckled and got up, "let's go. We can have the trip together."
Before arriving at the store, you both didn't ever imagine the incident that was about to happen.
As soon as you stepped inside the sliding glass door, he got a call and excused himself to a side and you were humming a song to yourself while searching for the items needed.
Then everyone heard a gunshot. Screams and footsteps erupted from inside and he quickly went to your direction behind the shelf where his eyes followed earlier but to his dislike, you were not there. The back door was open and he saw a black car leaving the place.
He quickly dialed Hongjoong's number to let him know about the situation and to come to the location quickly which he would send them soon. He borrowed the computer at the counter of the store and filled in the inputs with codes and required data and he followed a particular car's location from all the CCTV footage of the road of the tracking device and also his phone was tracking your ring, which has a high-tech induced chip.
Within a few moments Ateez reached the desired location, well they were not in a mood to come across the familiar place but still they had to when you are here.
Barging inside the place, an intense fight between both the mafia gangs started. San went to search for you, a bullet almost passed through his arm but fortunately he could avoid it but still he got injured slightly.
There, you were tied to a rusted metal chair and sitting unconsciously. He was quick to untie your ropes and held in his embrace while placing himself on the dirty floor. It doesn't matter, the important thing is for you to be safe.
"Y/n...you are safe."
You blinked your eyes open, first he noticed your scared pupils like he saw them on the first day but it quickly turned into soft and tears brimmed in. You were securely protected by his embrace on his lap.
The others entered the room and found you in that condition and they felt relieved that you were safe. They surrounded your figure, some praising you and some asking you if the enemies hurt you somewhere.
Even though you were denying, none was fully convinced.
No one blamed you.
“I’m sorry…I should’ve listened to you all.”
Hongjoong knelt in front of you and cupped your face, “it’s okay. We should protect you more. Just stay with us and don’t leave us ever. We are going to risk ourselves to protect you, the daughter of our boss.”
You held his wrist and shook your head, “Call me yours. Say you will protect me because I’m yours. Because you all don’t want to lose me.”
“Y/n…you are more precious than you think you are.” he said and pecked your forehead with adoration in his eyes.
Seonghwa knelt beside the leader and held your hand comfortingly, pressing a soft kiss on it. San shifted your body to make you feel comfortable in his hold. “Just know one thing, we love you not because you are his daughter but we are in love with you. We fell in love with an innocent girl.”
“I fell in love too……with you all.” you murmured and thought no one heard it except the three near you but you were so wrong because there was a boost feeling in the rest of them after hearing you. San kissed the crown of head and whispered, “I love you so much, y/n. It hurts whenever I see danger around you.”
Yunho was quick to sweep you off the floor and you squealed in surprise, well, Tiny. as far as I want to show you my love for you right now. This place is making me anxious. Let’s go home.”
“To my safe place.” hearing your sweet words, he kissed the tip of your nose. Jongho smiled reassuringly at you that  even if enemies are trying to hurt you, they would rescue you but now as they know that the complicated feelings of theirs have been solved after the mutual acceptance, they won't be leaving your side ever.
When you all were about to step out of the room, a man held a gun towards Yunho, at you in his grip. He clenched his jaw but before anyone could process anything, Mingi was quick to hold his gun towards the man and stepped forward Yunho, hiding you both with his large frame and shot the man.
He turned around and smirked, “now this is more fun to kill people because of you.”
You turned your face to the other side and could hear others laugh, “keep that shit away.”
“No cursing, tiny.”
Mingi caressed your head before planting a kiss to the side, “you should at least know how to use it.”
Wooyoung led the way out of the warehouse and kept in check of any possible danger in their way.
Entering the car, you sat between Wooyoung and Yeosang when the youngest one of them entangled his hands with yours and you looked at him with a surprise, “hm?” he pressed a kiss on your cheek, “thanks for trusting us in your father’s place.”
“Thanks for keeping me safe like he did.”
“Even my shadow will protect you forever and my love will guide you back to home.” he put his head on your shoulder.
“ I know.”
When you turned to the other side, Yeosang was already staring at you and when he caught your eyes, he smiled, “I didn’t imagine this is how we would be confessing our feelings. But thanks for letting us know that you care for us too, like your dad.”
“I was so scared today. Because of all the lurking danger, I hated to be in this mafia life and my dad hid me from this dark side of the world but thanks to you all for saving me from the lonely world out there after his death. When I thought that today I’m going to die, the only last hope I had was one of you to save me. And you did. All of you did.”
He nodded and patted his shoulder, you obligingly leaned your head on it and he caressed your head softly, “we are always here to keep you safe and to love you forever.”
With cautious optimism, you all embarked on a journey of self-discovery and love, navigating the complexities of the newfound relationship with courage and resilience. Together, you forged a bond that transcended time and circumstance, proving that love could blossom in the most unexpected of places.
As you watched the view outside hand in hand, gazing at the stars above from the window of the car, all of you knew that love was a testament to the enduring power of connection and the infinite possibilities that awaited on the horizon. In each other's arms, you found solace, strength, and the courage to embrace the beautiful uncertainties of life's journey.
After all, you did the right thing. Accepting the extended hand of the leader and  being inside the boundary of protection and love.

THE TRADER’S DAUGHTER - cooper “the ghoul” howard x female!oc — PART 2
Tumblr media
EDIT: FOLLOW @bonafideyapper FOR FUTURE PARTS!
warnings(?): allusions to bisexual!cooper towards the end; bad grammar/bad writing/bad formatting; (I was intoxicated while I wrote a lot of this); bad depiction of a southern accent (I’m literally from the south); incorrect fallout lore; overall warning for general fallout violence; Daisy is 4/5 here; dbf!cooper
part 1
Tumblr media
During Josiah’s time roaming the aftermath of the fallout for the benefit of the vault, he became an important part of forming strong relationships between the vault and outsiders. Under his guidance, the vault had a successful trade relationship that spanned over much of the old territory.
Daisy has very distant memories of the vault, mostly just an old television set that played movies that she could vaguely make out. To her, life didn’t really begin until she woke up on an old couch being watched over by an old woman that owned a shop in the small town. Shortly after their arrival, her father established himself as a trader of chems and other invaluable items, creating a permanent place in the town after a few months.
cooper was a frequent customer at Josiah’s. He’d gotten him a place to take refuge in after escaping the vault with his daughter, after reaching out to an old female friend of his. she owed him a favor for him saving her ass from some raiders, and then for cheatin’ on him with the same fuckin’ raider.
Coop would develop a soft spot for the trader’s daughter. He’d known from the moment he met her that she’d be a firecracker someday. the first time they had met, the little girl was no taller than a bean sprout, and she was hidden behind her father’s legs. she had been playing with a handmade doll behind the counter when cooper walked through the door, greeting his old acquaintance with a big smile.
“Josiah, you son of a bitch. How’re you settlin’ in?” the ghoul drawled easily, reaching out to shake the man’s hand in a faux-professional manner before pulling him forward to greet him.
The brown eyed girl looked up in curiousity at the sound of the bell on the door, immediately getting up to hide behind Josiah’s legs. she had never seen anything like him before, the skin of his face stretched tight and scarred in various spots from decades of radiation exposure (and probably some chem abuse, but whatever, it kept him from going feral). The vest he wore under a long overcoat was buttoned neatly despite his otherwise disheveled appearance, and there was a once-fancy faded blue shirt peeking out from the under the vest. Something in her little brain recognized the pattern of faded gold, she thought she had seen it in one of the many tv-screened dreams she would have each night.
The ghoul set his bag of various meats (totally not just a whole bunch of ass jerky, he saved that for himself whenever he got the chance) and other supplies down on the low countertop between them and tipped his hat to the little girl, offering her a yellowed smile, “howdy, li’l lady. you must be that flower your daddy’s always talkin’ about.”
Josiah looked down at his kid and forced the young girl into full view of the ghoul. He wasn’t raising no pussy, he had to expose Daisy to everything the wasteland had to offer. And, despite his appearance, Cooper had a larger than life aura to him even after all of the damage he had sustained through the years. The father was sure his kid would adapt to the ghoul.
“Introduce yourself, Daze. Coop don’t bite.” He formed a joke and looked over at the ghoul, “Unless you misbehave, then he might eat you right up.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Cooper. My name is Daisy.” She said in a polite little voice, still working on looking up at the cowboy. She wasn’t afraid of him, she just had some nerves was all. Getting used to the new scenery around her was gonna take some time at her young age, but she’d be a natural in no time. Whole town would gonna be in love with her by the time she turns 6.
“pleasure to meet you, little Daisy. you can just call me coop, no need to be ‘fraid of me. i’m the best bounty hunter this side o’ the wasteland, one of the good guys.” coop says the final line with a easy lie, his eyes flashing up to Josiah who had seen the internal conflict he faced in the time he had known the ghoul. He sure as hell wasn’t one of the good guys, but he could be for the few people he cared about in his big age.
“Now, why don’t you go run along an’ let the grown folks talk alone?” Cooper reached down and patted the top of Daisy’s head, watching her run along to the back office.
Josiah pulled a case out from under a shelf and counted out the vials of chems that he owed the ghoul in exchange for the supplies he brought, giving him a couple extra for a cheaper price because he liked the guy.
“You did a good job there, Joe. She’s gonna be a little killer some day, I can tell she’s got your survival instinct already. Between the two of us, she’s bound to learn at least two useful fuckin’ skills.” Cooper leaned over the counter a bit and took the box from his old (lover) friend. Josiah nodded in agreement and looked back towards the door for a moment, “Thank you, Cooper. I’m serious, I owe you more than just a couple extra vials.”
Cooper shook his head and lightened the mood, “Us cowpokes gotta stick together up here, you’ll learn that soon enough, Vaultie. Don’t you worry about her, you know I keep my word.” As soon as Josiah had successfully gotten his sleeping daughter out of the vault, he had made his oldest wasteland acquaintance promise, swear even, to protect the young girl in case anything were to end up happening to the old vault dweller. Cooper had always been a man of his word, no matter how badly the effects of radiation and the fucked up immortality would change him.
Tumblr media
a/n: okay!! welcome to the end of chapter 2, definitely leaning towards cooper being (canonically?) bisexual & again definitely some kind of gay tendencies between the old buddies. But anyways, maybe I’ll flesh THAT out if anyone’s interested.
a/n 2: also considering accepting requests for cooper stuff outside of Daisy’s story, gonna try my hand at 2nd person POV writing. if you have something you wanna see me try to flesh out then feel free to message me/send me an ask ❤️

We Can't Be Friends Song Reaction
Inspired by Ariana Grande's song: "We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)
Hyung Line Version. maknae line version
Warning: This is angsty and sad af, slight cursing, mentions alcohol, Seungcheol's is devastatingly fluffy, some suggestive things in Jeonghan's so minors dni.
A/N: using a song lyric as a prompt for each of the members. Decided to break this up from Hyung Line (Seungcheol - Jihoon) to Maknae Line (Seokmin - Chan). Keep an eye out for the Maknae Line part. The parts are written in order from where the song lyrics show up. I hope you enjoy.
Tumblr media
✫ Jun: "I didn't think you'd understand me. How could you ever even try?"
You and Jun come from two different worlds. That's what made the relationship so exciting when you first decided to date. You thought it would be fun. However, there was a lot of cultural differences and just things that neither of you could never understand no matter how hard you both would try. You even tried to learn each others languages and cultures but it was just too difficult. Plus the pressures of being a secret lover just never set right with you. You understood why you had to love in secret but it still didn't mean it didn't hurt. When you made the unfortunate decision to break things off with Jun, he pleaded with you and even said he understood how difficult things are but you already made up your mind. No amount of tears from either of you could change your mind.
✫ Joshua: "Just wanna let this story die. And I'll be alright."
When Jisoo and you began dating, you never imagined getting to this part. You imagined getting married to him. You imagined having a family with him. You imagined a beautiful life with him. That's why these last few months have felt like such major whiplash. The constant fighting, the snide remarks, the tension, it was exhausting. You just were waiting almost impatiently for him to end things with you already. However, he was stubborn and he still loved you. You are everything to him and the thought of losing you is a nightmare. That's why you had to do it. At 2:13 am you both were screaming at each other on the phone over who knows what when you finally chose to end it." "Jisoo, we are done," you finally shouted causing him to quiet down and realize the gravity of the situation. "What do you mean we are done?" He asked while trying to choke back tears. "I mean we are done. We are broken up. I am tired of this fighting over nothing. It's time to let our love story end." Before he could say anything you hung up and blocked his number. It hurt like hell but you felt a little lighter and less stressed out. You knew you would be alright and one day you would find someone to live the happy life you imagined with Jisoo.
✫ Hoshi: "We can't be friends. But I'd like to just pre-etend."
The days where you would come home to Soonyoung were a distant memory at this point. You both were just so busy with everything that you both came to a mutual agreement to break up and just try to remain friends. However, little did you realize how hard it would be just friends. Whenever you were out with mutual friends, you both would both try your best but there was still some tension and longing glances even though neither of you would ever admit it. Your friends would beg you both to just grow up and get back together but both of you were just stubborn and rather live in delusion and pretend that being friends was the smartest choice. It was for the best.
✫ Wonwoo: "Me and my truth, we sit in silence. Mmm baby girl it's just me and you."
You felt delusional. You were being delusional. When Wonwoo walked out your once shared apartment you sat like a lost puppy thinking surely he would ignore your words to get lost. However he listened. He got lost and left everything you built together. He was hurt, he was upset. Everything he did was for you, and to watch you just throw everything you both built was devastating. However, he would do anything for you. That includes walking away when you ask. After two weeks of waiting for any sign of Wonwoo, you realized it was just you. You realized what you did and you regretted it but you also knew that it was for the best. He was amazing and deserves someone who could love him the way he loved. Maybe in another life you both could try again.
✫ S. Coups: "Cause I don't wanna argue but I don't wanna bite my tongue yeah I think I'd rather die."
Fighting with Seungcheol was one of your least favorite things to do. It took all your energy and just made you feel sick. Normally, if he was being irrational or bothered you, you would just bite your tongue and just pray it would be over soon. However, after months of doing this you realized staying silent was killing you. You wanted to express what was bothering you in hopes you both could mend your almost deteriorating relationship. You had texted him earlier that you wanted to talk when he got home. This caused Seungcheol to hurry home to see you. He thought you were hurt. He was left in the dark about your angers and wanted to make sure the love of his life was okay. When he got home he saw you sat at the kitchen table with a worried face and that's when he was nervous. "What's wrong, baby?" "I um, we need to talk about us. I don't want to argue about it but I wanna talk about how I am feeling and have been feeling for a little while." He nodded and pulled out the chair next to you and gave you his full attention. Once you let out all your concerns, worries, and grievances you were worried about, Seungcheol just held your hand and then together you made a game plan on where to go.
✫ Jeonghan: "You got me misunderstood but at least I look this good."
"What do you think you are doing (Y/N)?" you heard someone behind you ask causing your heart to race as if you were a kid who was caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar. You felt guilty but deep down you knew you had NO reason to feel guilty whatsoever. It had been over three weeks since you and Jeonghan decided to call it quits and tonight you decided was the night to wear a little black dress and try to move on. What was the occasion? Saint Laurent had invited you to a party in Seoul and you decided it was a good opportunity to dress up and feel pretty. You knew Jeonghan would most likely also be invited but to be honest, you could care less. He was not yours to worry about anymore. Tonight it was only about you and supporting Saint Laurent. You sighed as you turned around and saw Jeonghan staring at you with mixed emotions across his face. This caused you to smirk at him before shrugging. "Same reason you are here, I was invited." "But why the short dress?" "Since when were my legs offensive?" This made Jeonghan shut up and just look at you. After what seemed like an eternity you waved goodbye to your former lover and walked away into the party.
✫ Woozi: "You cling to your papers and pens. Wait until you like me again."
When Jihoon and you both started to talk, you knew that he was a workaholic. You knew he'd spend countless hours in the studio and you had sworn up and down that you were okay with it. However, after him being at the studio while you waited at a restaurant on your one year anniversary happened you were angry. He didn't even apologize really, he just was like "you know I need to get this album out." It hurt. When he got back to your shared apartment, he noticed how empty it was. He noticed there was not a trace of you. He called out for you and he heard nothing. He looked everywhere and when he realized you were gone. He quickly took his phone out to call but the call went straight to voicemail. He then found a letter addressed to him saying that you were done being second best to him. You said you would love and support him forever but for your sake you couldn't do this anymore. The note broke him and he couldn't help but breakdown crying.
ahh this was emotional im sorry. maknae version coming soon <3 maknae verion is here! x

Note
you've actually given me tamaren brainrot i cannot stop thinking abt them now.. feed me your headcanons if you have any to share please
Renee x Tamarack Headcanons!
Author Notes at the bottom!
Tumblr media
STEP 2
-> Tamarack and Ren were very distant with each other.
-> Tamarack had hidden herself from the world. Her shine was now dull, and unlike how she acted years ago, she was closed off to the world.
-> Ren noticed, because how could she not? She remembers the time that Tamarack had so boldly gotten into her face. Now, it feels like she'd apologize for even being in her line of sight.
-> Renee would smile at Tamarack whenever she'd see her. It's not exactly an apology for how she'd exclude Tam from the group for being a girl, but it was something. She wasn't brave enough to talk about it yet, and she felt like Tamarack didn't really want to talk to her.
-> Tamarack would try to smile back at her. It was different from the smile she wore when she was younger. Back then, she would smile so wild that you would see her gums. Now, she'd just perk up the corners of her lips. Ren didn't even notice that she had braces.
-> Ren was too scared to think about Tamarack. Tamarack was too busy thinking about how others perceive her to perceive Ren.
STEP 3
-> They're a little more at peace with themselves during these times. It's inevitable, they started talking.
-> Renee's more comfortable with the fact that she's a girl. Tamarack's more comfortable with the fact that she likes girls. This leads to.. flirting?
-> Tamarack thinks its a little funny on the fact that Renee strayed away from girls only to end up as one. She tries not to poke fun at it too much.
-> As they matured, Tamarack started hanging out with Qiu more. Renee happens to be in a lot of places where Qiu is.
-> Qiu is, unsurprisingly, the bridge between them.
-> The two start with awkward, friendly, compliments. But slowly, they start cracking jokes, and poking fun at each other. Somewhere along the line, Qiu doesn't need to be there for them to get along.
-> Renee is a little unsure of how she feels about Tamarack. She likes her. But how deep does that like go? Is it, like, a like like? Does Tamarack even like girls? Does she even like girls?
-> Tamarack is always sure of how she feels and what she wants. She's sure that she wants to kiss this girl and make her feel beautiful.
-> It doesn't need to be said, but Tamarack makes most of the first move. Renee however, is too flustered to reciprocate. She backs off, thinking Renee is uninterested.
-> Their relationship falters for a while, until Renee admits how she feels on a random tuesday during midnight.
"Have I ever told you how sorry I was for how I treated you when we were kids?"
"Like, a million times now Renee. Sweetheart, I appreciate the apology, but I forgave you long ago."
"Well.." She yawns. "Have I told you about how good you look in red."
"Hm?" Tamarack laughs. It's the nicest sound Renee has ever heard. "You're the one with red hair."
Renee's laying on her bed, phone in hand. She wonders if Tamaracks doing the same. If she closes her eyes as Tamarack speaks, it feels like she's right next to her.
She cuts off Tamarack as she rambles about her day.
"I missed you." She pauses. "I think I love you."

Random, useless Tekken headcanons, this time not at 6 am, but still, part 2.
• Xiaoyu and Jin cuddle obviously, but he's very awkward and clunky about it, and she's SOOO clingy (he doesn't care at all, he loves her so much).
• Kazuya had a childhood blanket that he's hidden away somewhere. He had it as a baby and after Kazumi died, it was his clutch. Until he got older and Heihachi tried to make him throw it out, so he lied and kept it very hidden - and eventually, as a 50 year old, he had it tucked away, safely somewhere, and sometimes brought it out in his giant shoe room, just to have some privacy and a little support with it. (I know it sounds weird, but I love giving my comfort characters as much comfort as possible 😭)
• Adding onto childhood endeavors with my favs, I think Jun used to crochet and knit all the time as a child, to pass the time :(. But when she started going out into the forest more, greeting the animals, she was knitting for them!! She would make scarves or little blankets and cuddle up with them all, and I still think she does. She and Kazuya go out into the hills or forest and she knits or crochets, while he tries to be gentle with the animals, and that's their downtime...
• Bruce Irvin and Anna Williams are the only 2 people Kazuya considers friends, and even then, he doesn't like that term, he considers them 'close acquaintances'... He's been out to restaurants and bars with them many times before. He and Anna Williams have a platonic relationship - even if it seems she's flirting with him all the time, I believe that she is his best friend and it's the like joking flirting kind of thing.
• Feeding off of that one, Tekken 2: Jun and Anna were besties!!! They met and would gossip and go shopping, and I hope Anna returns in 8 so I can see my girls together again.
• Bruce Irvin's bisexual with a heavy male lean. I love him, please ALSO come back to 8...
• Lee and Lars practically took Jin under their wing, but I believe Jin lives primarily with Lee - and Lee loves to baby his 'most excellent nephew' a bit. Not like baby-baby, Jin's a grown man, but give him a little comfort. Like if Jin's having an off day (which I think happens a lot, just thinking about how he is with the Mishima side, or him thinking about Jun and missing her). Lee sits him down, makes him tea or a meal and just holds him or sits with him for company... (I LOVE UNCLE LEE HEADCANONS.)
• This is more of an interpretation, but still a headcanon: I think Reina's relation to the Hachijo clan, is that she's a distant cousin of Kazuya. Because Kazuya is technically a part of that clan, as he's Kazumi's kid. So I think maybe one of her siblings had a baby before Heihachi killed them, and he took Reina in... Good to know he doesn't kill infants but will throw a barely past toddler off a cliff 🤔
• Steve Fox isn't trying to get Nina to be his mom, which is what I see a lot of, it's hard to explain... It's him trying to redeem her as a person, not a mom. But I do think he cares deeply for Nina...
• Adding onto that, Anna found out she was his aunt and took him shopping because she felt bad...
• Jin used to sleep on Jun's floor as a teenager. Like she'd be asleep, and he'd come in with his blankets and pillows, throw them on the ground and sleep in there, just to feel his mama's presence.
• Kazuya and Lee obviously treated one another as rivals growing up, but I think they had a trustful bond as teenagers. Like, if one had a secret that would either get them killed or they could NEVER spill around Heihachi, the other would keep it for eternity. They HATED one another, but they were both trying to survive the same threat.
• Lars takes time every morning to style each and every point in his hair. Like the Mishimas got crazy hair, but I know damn well they STYLE it like that. As proven by Heihachi having his down in Tekken 8 -
• ADDING ONTO THAT: THEIR HAIR IS LIKE THAT BECAUSE OF THEIR WEIRD POWERS OF ELECTRICITY. They style it like that because it always finds a way to stick up...
• Paul Phoenix is only that stupid because he was hit on the head so many times. Not saying he was a genius before, but he's got some bad brain damage. Like he's not super stupid, he's just... Got some troubles.
• Bryan Fury has a super, mega crush on Dragunov, nothing can change my mind. 'Deeply admires', okay bud...
• Dragunov's favorite color is hot pink, that's why he collects the hot pink army vehicles. Love a Barbie kinda guy. I also believe Dragunov wears lipstick and eyeliner, there is no way his lips are naturally almost black...

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
The warmth of the lake water at the family lake house is what brought Y/N out of her daydreaming along with an electrifying jolt through her body. Why would she be at their lake house? She was just in an ambulance.
There was a distant beeping noise in the background.
"Pulse is back. Vitals returning to normal." Someone said off in the distance. "Someone please notify the family." The voice continued.
"You know he didn't mean it right?" A voice sounded from behind Y/N and it startled her. She turned around and saw the most beautiful woman standing there, she looked exactly like Jake, this must be Dakota. "He loves you." Dakota said.
"The way he said it made it sound like he didn't. He said he wished they would've saved you instead of me." Y/N said, replaying the fight.
"Jake says a lot of things that he doesn't mean. I watched the whole fight and his reactions. He regrets everything he said and did." Dakota replied, "You both love each other even if hurtful things get said." She continued. Dakota walked over to the young girl and placed a hand on her cheek which Y/N leaned into. "You look so much like both of them." She said.
The beeping kept going and it was bothering her but she ignored it. Until a voice came in.
"You can try talking to her. Sometimes they say it helps them come back and they can sometimes hear you." A nurse said to the family that were led into the hospital room.  It was silent. "You're allowed to touch her." She added. "I'll be right at the nurse's station if you need me." She said and walked away.
Dakota and Y/N had walked into the Seresin-Bradshaw Lake house and were at the oven making cookies, cookies her Grandma Carole taught her how to make.
"I never want this to end! We're having so much fun!" Y/N said to Dakota while putting another batch in the oven and set the time. She turned around and to the island where Dakota handed her a cookie and they began eating.
"Time is endless here but you have to go back eventually." Dakota said in a sweet voice that mother would do while talking to their kid while Y/N looked out the window. "Your time is not done here and you need to wake up." That made her head jerk to Dakota.
"What did you say?" She asked, confused. A ringing beep went through her mind "Do you hear that?" She asked again.
"I said time is endless here. I don't hear anything Sweetie." Dakota said just then a version of Goose came into view.
"Hey, Chick. They say sometimes coma patients can hear loved ones and I'm hoping you can. Your Dad and Pops are worried sick. I just want to know what happened to make you drive into a storm. I just hope you wake up, I need my pranking buddy back." He said. He got up and bent over and kissed her on the forehead "I love you, Chick." He whispered close to her ear. He walked out of the room feeling his heartbreak.
She felt the kiss on her forehead and his breath on the shell of her ear when he whispered. She could also smell his scent that smelt of cinnamon. She missed that smell.
"What made you drive in the middle of the storm?" Dakota asked
"I wanted out of the house away from Pops. I wanted Grandma and Grandpa Goose. I was going to see them." She said a bit sad. She felt guilty that she's putting stress and breaking her loved one's hearts. Just as she was getting ready to speak, Carole appeared.
"Hi, honey." She said in a hushed voice but still cheerful voice. "I fully believe you're listening to us." She paused and grabbed her granddaughter's hand and started to rub it. "I really miss you. You're my best student when it comes to cooking, don't tell your dad I said that." She giggled. "You're my best girl, I don't want to lose you. Everyone is waiting for you to pull through. You're our little fighter. I love you Y/N/N." She said and kissed her hand and reached down and hugged her.
Y/N giggled at what she was saying. She felt her hand tingle and she looked down at it and then felt her whole body get warm from the hug and then the warmth left. She could smell brown sugar and lavender. She missed her. Why did she have to get into that truck? She should've just stayed put. The timer to the oven brought her out of her daze but Dakota was already pulling them out of the oven and bringing the cooled-off batch over to where Y/N was sitting on the couch and sat down with her with the cookies in front of them.
"They miss you." Dakota said.
"Yea I know but I don't want to go just yet." Y/N said.
"That's ok. You know it was my decision for them to save you if they couldn't save us both. It wasn't your fault." Dakota said and reached over to get a cookie for each of them and handed her one.
"Then why did Pops say that?" She asked.
"It was out of anger. It was my decision." Dakota told her. Before either one of them said anything else. Ice walked in.
"Hey there, Sunshine." Ice said. "How's my beautiful girl doing?" He asked knowing he won't get a response while pushing hair out of her face and occasionally rubbing her forehead. "I saw the truck. It's pretty bad but we all can fix it. That's what we do best." He said coming to rest his hand on her cheek. "You're worrying us all, baby. Everyone just shut down. We told the others what happened but refrained them from coming in until you're awake." He told her and watched her chest rise with the help of the ventilation machine. "I'm just hoping you wake up and jump up telling us all this is a joke, but I know it's not." He paused and was silent. "Cyclone and Warlock were asking about you just a little while ago, we didn't give much detail." He told her. "Cyclone doesn't want to admit it but he has a soft spot for you and we all can see it."  He laughed "I guess I should let the others have a turn. I love you, Sunshine." He said and kissed the side of her head.
She felt it and could smell his lemon and jasmine scent. She just wanted to reach up and hug him. "What day is it?" Y/N asked Dakota.
"Here it's a never-ending day but it's Friday 12 PM." She told her niece. Maverick was the next to walk in.
"Hi, Peanut." He began "I really don't know what to say. The last time I was here like this was when your Grandpa Goose had his accident but he pulled through, I know you will too, you have the Bradshaw stubborn genes." He said it was heartbreaking. "Peanut. You're strong as fuck, excuse my language, you've been put through extensive pilot trianing and even pulled g's, if you can survive that you can survive this. I believe in you and so does everyone else. We all love you and want you here with us. You're too young to leave this world, there is a lot left for you." He paused, clearing his throat trying to hold back tears but they were already falling "You're important to us all, even more important to Jake and Bradley. They need their little girl back, I don't think they could function without you." He said as he put his hand on her thigh and rubbed it. He got up and kissed her forehead "Be strong Peanut." He said and left.
She laughed at that and felt his hand on her thigh, the kiss on her forehead, and the breath on the shell of her ear. She could smell his jet fuel and sandalwood scent.
"Pilot training?" Dakota asked and Y/N laughed.
"Yea while Dad and Pops were on deployment Grandpa Ice, Grandpa Mav, Grandpa Goose, and Uncle Slider thought it would be fun to teach me to fly and be a WSO. I went through extensive pilot training and they didn't know about it and still don't." Y/N laughed at the memory and turned to Dakota.
"Are you all going to tell them?" Dakota laughed knowing Jake would flip.
"Eventually." Y/N said. She turned back around when Bradley came in and sat down and just sat there for a minute.
"Hey, Honey." He began tears already falling down. "This is really hard for me and your Pops. He's taking the worst of it." He continued "I hope you can hear me. They said talking would help but I don't know what to say. Last time I was in the hospital you were born and now this time you might wake up and you might not, I'm hoping for the first option." He said. “Honey, your Pops didn’t mean what he said. After the fight he went downstairs and shut down while I tucked you in. He beat himself up and actually cried the only other time I’ve seen him cry was when you were born and he held you. He loves you to the moon and back. I honestly think he loves you more than he loves his F-18. I love you so much, maybe even more than the Bronco and that’s saying something honey.” he said ending it with a sniffle “Please don’t leave us, I don’t think any of us would survive. We really do love you.” he took a shaky breath and ran a hand through her hair “If this is it and you’re ready to go, then that’s ok. We’ll miss you like crazy but we understand. I just hope you choose to stay with us. You’re the light of our lives. I love you, Honey. Come back to us, please.” he ended and kissed her forehead. A few tears dropped onto her hair and he lingered there for just a few minutes. He let out a shaky breath and left.
Y/N had tears running down her face. She didn’t want to leave her family. She felt his hand running through her hair, felt his kiss on her forehead and the tears falling onto her hair. She could smell his honeysuckle scent that reminded her of home. She loved them all. She couldn’t leave them not a chance.
“Sounds like you have people that love you.” Dakota said, making her jump.
“I do and I love them all so much!” she exclaimed “I don’t want to leave them. I just want to keep resting for a little bit. I’m just so tired.” she said and Dakota smiled.
“Of course Sweetie. You still have one more person to listen to.” She said and about 10 minutes later Jake walks in. It was now 1 PM in the other world.
Jake sat down and let out a shaky sigh “Hey, Sweets. I hope this will get to you. I’m so sorry for hurting you, yelling at you, saying I wish they would’ve saved Dakota instead of you, for all of it. I never wanted to turn into my dad but that night I did and I’m so sorry.” He said and tears started to fall. “From the day you were born you were the light of my life and I made a promise to not hurt you and I broke that promise.” he took a shaky breath “I love you so much and I will never stop saying it no matter what happens,” he said. “Slider would probably miss you the most out of all of us. He wouldn’t have anyone to help him mess with Ice or Mav and you know how much he loves to do that.” he gave a watery laugh. The next thing he said was from his heart and nobody knew except Bradley, Jake grabbed her hand and ran a hand through her hair, and leaned down next to her “The day you were born and they gave you to me, I thought my hands were too rough to hold you. And you cried no matter what we did. But your Dad said that that was a good sign, you were strong. It wasn't much comfort when I was holding you, pacing back and forth all night. All you did was look at me with those big, beautiful eyes. I made all kinds of promises to you if you'd just go to sleep. Y/N... I forgot to keep those promises... and I'm sorry. Do you forgive me? I'll tell you every day how proud I am of you, how proud I am that you're my daughter. Just stay with me... please.” Jake was full-on sobbing. He leaned over and gave a lingering kiss on her forehead and tears fell on her face.
“See he loves you and didn’t mean he said.” Dakota said looking at Y/N as she was watching her Pops. She was crying and she could feel him running his fingers through her hair and the pressure when he leaned over to kiss her forehead and the tears on her face. She could smell the woodsy scent and the lingering jet fuel from him working on his jet every chance. She couldn’t leave them “All you have to do is wake up, Sweetie.” Dakota gave her advice and that’s what she was going to do.
Jake ended the kiss and took his hand away from her hair and was about to start walking away when Y/N squeezed his hand and not just a light squeeze, a death grip squeeze and that made him stop short. “Sweets?” he asked and walked back to her as she started to cough and choke on the tube. “Hold on Sweets. Let me go and get someone.” he tried to walk away again but she wasn’t letting up on her death grip. Alarms were going off left and right and her heart rate was picking up alerting the nurses and they came rushing in which the other family members shot up from their positions and rushed into the room and saw the commotion. She was trying to grab the tube but Jake was stopping her then nurses and her main doctor rushed in and just as Y/N opened her light amber eyes and looked up at her Pops. They pushed Jake out of the way but she wouldn’t let him go “Sweets, it's ok. I’ll be right in here, they just need the space to work." That seemed to work because she let go of his hand.
Bradley went to him and pulled him back to the rest. Maverick was crying and holding his mouth. Ice was trying not to show emotion but it wasn’t working. Goose was holding Carole, keeping her from falling. Bradley was doing the same to Jake.
The nurses successfully removed the tube and put a nasal cannula on her and then backed away and some left besides on her main nurse, Nurse Alex. “I’ll get Dr. Hayes in here.” Nurse Alex said and they nodded. Once he was gone nobody dared to move afraid it was just a hallucination.
“Pops?” Y/N said in a raspy voice and held out her hand and he walked to her and grabbed it.
“Yea, Sweets?” Jake asked, tears streaming down his face.
“I forgive you.” Y/N said and Jake leaned down and he reached down and ran a hand through her hair he leaned down his other hand coming to the other side of the face and kissed her forehead, as she grabbed onto his shirt in a death grip. He leans down further and wraps his left hand around her head while her head rests on his bicep and closes her eyes as tears flow freely from both of them. Jake hugs her like his life depended on it and she clung to him like her life depended on it. She was never letting her family go again.

A vent post about my love life for y’all who’re interested:
So I have talked about a girl I’ve been seeing, right? We have hooked up a few times and we’ve been talking to each other/seeing each other since July/August. She’s like 5 years older than me and she’s been nothing but nice and gentle. However, about a month ago she started being a little distant, and when I asked her about it she was honest with me and told me a lot of things were going on in her life:
1) her ex wanted to get back with her (important to point out they were together for about 6 years and from what she told me it got to a point that she would either marry him or break up with him, so she broke up with him because she felt like she was missing some experiences, aka being with women)
2) her mom has lupus and was going through some health issues that worried her.
3) she was having a sexuality crisis (thinking she could actually be a lesbian, but at the same time reflecting on going back to her ex)
4) and she was also going through some mental health issues + having a lot of work.
Understanding all this we basically decided to distance ourselves a little bit, to stop literally seeing each other. I also gave her some space and we ended up messaging each other way less than what we used to.
My birthday was coming and even though all of this was going on I invited her anyway. She immediately said yes, but I still felt unsure of her presence at my birthday party while being in this situation with her. So I was honest and opened up to her about not being comfortable with the current situation we were in. Which led her to tell me she reflected a lot about some things and she came to some conclusions:
1) She wasn’t really having a sexuality crisis, she was just unsure if she wanted to be in a relationship at the moment or not.
2) She thinks her mom struggling with her health + the fact her parents recently retired will mean she is gonna need to provide for them for a while, which means she will need to work more.
3) She didn’t want to make me any promises and actually wanted for us to be able to do some things like travel and stuff like that, but with her providing for her parents and all that she would be unable to do this.
So what we basically agreed to was to not make any promises to each other, to basically have something casual (though that’s not what I really want), but I like her so I agreed anyway.
I’d also like to add when my birthday came she asked for my address so she could send me a present 😭 she had bought me a book. At my party (which was in a bar) she made sure to buy me a non-alcoholic drink knowing because of some health issues I cannot drink alcohol rn.
But this week I also had the opportunity to talk with one of my exes after 2 years of not speaking to each other. I apologized for some things and she was so nice about everything. We’ve been talking and we’ve agreed to some time go out together whenever she’s more available.

out of the main characters, who has the best/worst relationship with their parents/parent figures?
Well here i’ll go thru all of them LOL
rook & bentley: on the surface, good! these two love each other a lot and bentley has served as a positive role model for rook his whole short life. however, especially as rook gets older, bentley is finding that she can’t control him as well as she used to. she tells herself she does everything in his best interest and to keep him safe. she doesn’t want him to end up like, um, someone she used to know very well who is now a “failure” in her eyes. let’s just say that. when rook meets and starts actively trying to be around moth and splinter, bentley is extremely resistant to it. 8/10
rook & scarlet: scarlet nursed rook and they have a sweet relationship, albeit not as close as rook’s relationship with bentley. scarlet really sees herself as rook’s true mother. she’s projected on them a lot since two of her original litter went missing, and that’s put her at odds with whiskey and rye. scarlet is kind of obsessed with rook. she thinks they’re a beautiful, perfect child sent from rhune. you can imagine her other children are rubbed the wrong way by this… lmao. 7/10
splinter & coal: splinter’s dad. this relationship sucks. coal is inherently a standoffish and distant guy and splinter always sensed it even before thorn’s death. she hates that she’s so much like him and apparently not enough like her radiant dead mom. coal is extremely critical of her, always pointing out even the small things she does wrong. he’s getting to the point of disowning her entirely even though he’s a big reason why she is the way she is. 2/10
splinter & wild: now this is what i call a banger dynamic. splinter+wild and rook+bentley mirror each other in some ways. but wild is… wild. you know. a freak. they encourage splinter’s idiosyncrasies and weirdness while making she she doesn’t completely succumb to chaos. wild adores their little angry niece. splinter has always loved them, too, basically idolizing them from birth. solid 9.5/10
moth & talia: you all know how bad this sucks. talia nursed moth and served as his foster mother. then moth accidentally killed talia’s little girl and now she hates his guts. but BEFORE all that, talia tolerated him. he would always try to make her laugh by doing stupid goofy shit and it usually worked. at best she was amused by him but there was always an underlying concern about his origin. she felt it was confirmed by what happened to her daughter. 1/10
moth & frond: this is a weird one! frond’s the one who found baby moth and rescued him, same day thorn went missing (and the next day showed up dead). after moth killed rain talia made him sleep in a different pew, but thankfully frond let him sleep with him instead. moth can find some comfort in frond but not a lot. frond is very high-strung and very terrified of moth leaving. cats come and go in the clowders. moth isn’t in love with his living situation so leaving isn’t a stretch, but he feels tethered to the bethels because of frond. 6/10
honorable mention goes to wild and moth, not a parental thing but more of a “my best friend’s relative who is also my therapist and drug dealer” thing - 10/10

I started writing this long reflection about media analysis, JJK and the impact of it and this entire fandom and your story but it'll work better once H&H is complete and I can make it less ramble-y and coherent. (oh look I'm rambling again just like the now-saved draft)
Instead, let's just dip into the moments that left the biggest impact because I barely held it together.
The P word and I gasped. Thankfully no one was standing near me on the train platform.
“You’re always to my left, Suguru.”
Now I want to go back and see if that's always the case?
But Satoru has revoked Suguru’s access to his voice and mind space. He’s retreated to the steel entrapment in his head. Leaving Suguru to fend for himself.
The mystique over his "really good eyesight" and their silent communication is so delectable. And then this happened, I can feel it.
Suguru can read any page in any person’s book, no matter the language. But he can’t seem to decipher her expression.
I loved the moments of accuracy during the active trauma. But this felt the most writing from what you know and your training as a physician. (and the chuckle from the doctor over the phone later, poor boy was too stormy to catch that but a doctor would NEVER do that if it was bad news!)
The joy of Fatherhood, given and taken from him in a night.
I have not experienced this type of loss, but I know people who have. And that type of grief is so intense. You didn't overstate or linger on it too long to undercut the feelings and space.
Will they survive this?
I know they will because you've said as much. But that didn't make this any less impactful. The journey and all....
He fantasizes about your precious love child.
Of all this chapter held, this moment was the proverbial straw. Especially with the dream of a girl. And the precious love of dads and their daughters. And now I am going to lose it again, just thinking of my husband and how he would've felt. (he also would've chosen me over the fetus like The Boys).
Satoru fails to swallow a gasp, and the cords tethering Suguru’s brain to rational logic snap in half.
A deft touch here, appropriately use of the intense emptions of sex and touch. I hope it is not their last (not that we need visceral descriptions of it, you've had great pacing without needing to keep reminding us of time passage)
His addiction to being needed is one he’ll never recover from.
Oh Sugu, your doting and motherhen-ing is adorable and I can't get enough of it.
I just want to like, ramble on and on and on. Wine, snacks, and a big comfy couch.
Jen my little angel 🤍🩷. I love when you do this to me with your juicy analysis and questions that make me think.
Long Author POV below:
1. The P-word. This was left field but of course she’d be. The boys have been filling her reckless. And part of me feels like their bodies knew. The way they doted on her in the fluff flash back, both kneeling to put her shoes on. They’re like dogs who sense their human is pregnant. Now though, with the loss. They’re going to be INTENTIONALLY trying to make another one. Even more desperate when reader pushes them away for a bit.
2. A reader actually made a comment on AO3 that they can’t wait to see the boys communicate more. Because it’s true, I’ve written them so in sync I leave a lot of their dialogue to the reader’s imagination. It was fun to force them to try and figure out how to verbalize things when they’re off step with each other.
3. Suguru being unable to read the doctor’s expression. *sigh* gonna get emotional here. They try to teach us divine neutrality in med school and residency. Delivering bad news while being empathetic but distant. You should be able to call time of death one minute, then walk into the next room and give another patient your 150%. I struggle with this. Elia struggled with this. I hope I did it justice with how it’s written
4. Girl Dad Suguru 🥹 I struggled writing his and Satoru’s reactions. I just wanted to explore the complexities of yes they love reader, yes they want more of her, but ultimately reader, NOT baby, is their priority. Full stop.
5. Satosugu soft sex. I hope this didn’t feel TOO out of place. Mostly because grief is MESSY. It does things to short circuit brains. And sometimes it makes you want to make love with someone to feel in control and warm and intimate. They both were crying and confused through it. And Suguru was so desperate to feel close to Satoru again. Satoru didn’t verbalize it but his “I’m so lonely” and “no, stay” was my way of hinting at that.

With how much Tangle and Whisper meas to you.. are there any specific moments in the comics that made you love them? What initiated that spark? :3
That is actually a really complex question for me...
I would say it's the full package ?
Lemme go a little bit into detail here, i try to split this into two parts:
Part 1 - How they affected my personal life in a positive way
When i first started to read the IDW Comics the relationship of Tangle and Whisper did stick out to me immediately.
I always enjoyed Sonic the Hedgehog as a medium, played the Games whenever they did tickle my interest, grabbed me some merch when i thought it looked nice, i literally grew up with the blue blur. I always looked at it as funny cartoon animals do funny things to annoy big bad Dr. Eggman, because that's what it was for me since childhood.
So when i jumped into IDW it is probably an understatement that i was surprised by it's depth and how all these characters were shown in a different light, a more serious tone, in relatable situations, they have their flaws, their strength, their fears, they suddenly had a wide set of emotions brought into play i honestly wasn't sure for a while if i was reading official Sonic the Hedgehog Comics by SEGA or a really good fanproject.
Anyway, it didn't take me too long until i catched up with Tangle and Whisper.
Back then (early 2021) i was in a really weak position and went through a hard time in life (Still trying to recover from it as you know) and let's just say the Tangle and Whisper Mini helped me to look up and enjoy life again.
Whisper's backstory, losing her team, trying to find a footing in life, opening up to people again, dealing with her own trauma somehow just spoke to me on many levels.
And mixed up with Tangle being the sunshine she is, the bound they formed during the events of the comics, it somehow gave me strength to not give up on myself.
I know this might sound weird to some people that literally cartoon animals helped me to regain my spirit again.
Ngl it did surprise me too, never in my life would i have thought that actual Sonic characters/comics would get me out of that dark swamp i was trapped in.
But life is never 100% predictable. In the end i just embraced it for what it is even if it did strike me a little weird.
So much about my personal experience.
Part 2 - Actual organic LGBT representation that feels natural in it's buildup.
So that is a thing that did really stick out to me a lot while reading the comics.
Tangle and Whisper's bound did evolve very organic throughout the course of the whole comic series, it added depth with the mini series, showed growth through the annual story and their overall interactions with each other while fighting side by side during the metal virus arc.
From being distant to slowly starting to embrace each other more and more, Whisper's breakdown when she found out she lost Tangle to the Virus, tackle hugging her out of relieve that she got her back, ending in a flirty scene even + many more small details, little interactions and be it just Tangle wrapping her tail around Whisper for comfort.
There is a lot of unspoken body language between these two as well that adds a lot to their narrative in my eyes.
Heck even their whole Cover Art Selection for their Mini Series is truly something else.
These two girls gave me such a massive gay/lesbian vibe and they were also so close to each other on the page, that i was actually surprised (Heh, again) when i found out that they weren't pitched that way in the first place.
Like, excuse me but huh !?
Supporting, healing, growing, feelings, baby steps, it's all there.
I was really happy to see a wlw relationship blossom in such a normal way that it felt like fresh air to me. (Back then it wasn't even confirmed yet) Tbh i didn't delve too much into details at that point i just enjoyed the story surrounding them.
A typical case of good written slowburn. And man i love slowburn romance haha
Usually i was used to a lot of subtext till the end (Korrasami for example, it is a good story but was extremely restricted)
Anyway i don't want to make this any longer than it already is, BUT I THINK we could say that all of the above initiated that "spark" for me.
And tbh i am not even sure if my words here give it enough justice at all. Honestly i was never a big shipper for anything in my life prior to these two.
I bet i could squeeze more outta my head but that's honestly already a lot of digging here on my part.

The sun burned high in the midday sky, warming the land below it, creating the ideal conditions for children to misbehave under the near cloudless blue sky. Laughter and shouts were carried along the slight breeze as a group of children descended the interconnecting vines of the Hallelujah Mountains, whooping and yelling as they jumped between the colossal vines, soaring through the air and swinging their arms.
Lo'ak and Spider were at the head of the group, committing daring stunts and they launched themselves from vine to vine, sometimes using each other for leverage as they went. Trailing behind the were Kiri and Tuk going at a more sedated pace, though Tuk would sometimes disregard Kiri's warnings of not going too fast and mimic Lo'ak as she jumped between the vines. There had been more than enough close calls that Kiri had sent Tuk to the back of the group with Niri'te, who was carefully making her way down.
Tuk had whined and stomped her feet, but Kiri wasn't having it, so after the almost-tantrum Tuk had waited for Niri'te to catch up so the two could climb down together.
"Ah, c'mon little sister, it isn't so bad," Niri'te tried to placate the girl, but all she got was a petulant huff, Tuk crossed her arms and jumped down to the next vine. Niri'te sighed, it doesn't seem like Tuk would be in a pleasant mood for the next few hours, lest something catches her eye and she forgets that she was ever mad. Nirir'te admired Tuk of that, having the simple pleasure of forgetting your all troubles to focus on the small things.
Originally Niri'te had thought she would spend the day with her grandmother, learning and completing tasks for the aging woman. She was busy doing just that when Spider had come up to her, looking nervous as he wrung his hands together. Niri'te put down the stone grinder to look at him, showing him that she was listening. "Hey Ri'te," he started, looking over her shoulder as he avoided her eyes. "D'you know what's up with Lo'ak? He's been kinda distant lately..."
Niri'te sighed and looked down at her unfinished work. "He got in trouble again, he and Tuk went out without permission and they got attacked," She looked back at the human boy, noticing his skin paling slightly out of worry for his best friend. "I didn't get the full story, Lo'ak's been avoiding a lot of people lately."
Spider nodded, looking over her shoulder again. She wondered what was so interesting that he could keep eye contact while he was having a conversation with her. Spider bit his lip, looking as of his mind was elsewhere. Niri'te decided that she wasn't going to wait for him to continue the conversation and picked the stone grinder back up again and went on with her work.
After a moment of awkward silence between the two, Spider finally spoke again.
"So I was thinking that maybe we could all go out today, like just go down to the jungle and mess around for a few hours, maybe we could get Lo'ak outta the dump he's in."
Niri'te glanced up at him out of the corner of her eye. "What do you mean by 'we all'?"
"Y'know like... me, you, Lo'ak and Kiri. Maybe Tuk as well."
At first, Niri'te was warming up to the idea of going down to the jungle to unwind a bit, but when he mentioned Kiri, that idea had curled up and died.
"Sorry dude," she sighed as if she cared, "No can do, I'm busy today."
"Aw what? C'mon Ri'te, you gotta come with, you've been holed up in this rock for too long! It's affecting your brain, turning you into a buzzkill."
Niri'te scoffed. "You remember the last time me or any of my family went down to the jungle?"
Niri'te had nearly killed herself, Lo'ak and Tuk were attacked and Tuk had refused to leave their mother's side for days after, always with her or Lo'ak, much to the dismay of their father.
"You can't let a few bad things get to you like that. If you do, you would never go outside." Spider reasoned with her. And she couldn't really argue with his logic.
Niri'te sighed and finally looked at him, her yellow eyes narrowed as she debated his words. After a moment of the two staring at each other, Niri'te spoke.
"Okay fine, but if I say I wanna leave none of you can stop me, got it?"
"Yes ma'am," Spider mock saluted her. Niri'te hissed playfully and swiped at him, the human boy barely dodging the surprise attack. "Don't call me that dude, you're older than me."
Spider shrugged. "But you're more mature so that basically makes you an adult compare to me."
Niri'te rolled her eyes, a smile playing on her lips as she looked back at her work. "Fine dude, whatever you say."
Spider grinned, calling over his shoulder as he turned to walk away. "We're leaving around noon, so get whatever you can done by then!" To which Niri'te gave him a thumbs up as the human boy jogged away, probably off to go find Kiri or something.
"Guys!" Tuk whined. She had started to fall behind the older kids, her attention too easily caught by the surrounding flora. "Wait up!"
Niri'te was shaken from her thoughts as she stopped walking, turning back to wait for her little sister to catch up. She laughed softly as Tuk jumped up and skipped over, suddenly not bothered by being left behind. She could be so strange at times.
"Come on, tsmuke, or they'll actually leave us behind." Niri'te joked as she let Tuk go in front of her, smiling as she watched the little girl basically frolicked between all the plants.
They had been on the ground for about a few hours now, though the two boys had been adamant about keeping off the ground, especially Lo'ak, who kept glancing back at Tuk as if to reassure himself that she was still there and safe. Niri'te understood that need, the action that almost became instinct after someone you loved was put in danger. She did the same thing to Lo'ak, though she found herself doing it less and less as time went on and the gash on Lo'ak's leg healed, becoming a pale scar on his calf that stood out against his dark blue skin, a constant reminder of the time where Niri'te had failed her baby brother, had let him get hurt.
Niri'te shook herself from those thoughts, knowing that she couldn't change the past, no matter how much she wanted to.
She was bringing up the rear of the group, walking at a sedated pace on the moss-covered ground with Tuk, the young girl reluctant to go into the trees, her hand absently coming up to touch the healing injuries on the side of her face, though she tried to play it off as the bandage itching, and Niri'te knew that feeling all too well.
"C'mon Niri'te! Hurry up, we're losing daylight."
Kiri had been complaining about Niri'te for the past hour or so, always about her falling behind and slowing them down. Niri'te didn't pay it much mind, unfortunately, used to such things with her twin sister. She would always apologise to Kiri about whatever she complained about, the action seemingly infuriating her sister more. It was something Niri'te took a small pleasure in, proud of herself for not stooping down to Kiri's level, with all the childish insults and harsh words spoken to like she wasn't supposed to hear, but she did. Niri'te always did.
"Sorry, I got distracted." Niri'te placated, holding her hands up a mock of meek defensiveness, playing the role of the weak pushover like she always did with Kiri.
Kiri scoffed and walked away, wanting to put some distance between the two of them, but before she could get far Niri'te brushed past her. "Because we all know what happens when I fall behind, right Kiri?" she said to her, voice hushed so the others wouldn't hear. As she walked away, Niri'te glanced behind her to see Kiri standing there, frozen in what she believed to be shock. Niri'te smiled sweetly at her sister and skipped away, coming up behind Tuk, and giving the little girl a tiny shove that sent her to the ground where she was crouched in front of some plant, its tendril-like stems reaching out and attaching themselves to Tuk's fingers.
Niri'te turned back to Kiri, wanting to see if her twin had gotten the hidden meaning behind that little interaction. She did. Niri'te knows she did because of her paling face, the glare aimed at her, and the way Kiri's stride faltered for the smallest moment.
"C'mon Kiri! Hurry up, we're losing daylight." She parroted her sister's words back to her as she walked away, taking great delight at the disgruntled look she got from Kiri.
“Ease off you two!” Lo’ak called from the front of the group, sick of listening to Kiri complain and because of it not in the mood for another fight to break out between the two sisters.
Lo'ak's voice cut through the tension, his tone firm yet laced with weariness. Niri'te glanced at him and saw the frustration etched on his face. She knew he was tired of the constant bickering between her and Kiri, and she couldn't blame him. Lo'ak always tries to be the mediator, the one who tried to keep the peace among their group, but somethings things just didn't work out.
Kiri snorted, her eyes fixed on Niri'te as if to say, "See? Even Lo'ak is tired of you." It was a mocking expression, one that Niri'te had grown accustomed to. Kiri seemed to take every opportunity to belittle her, to remind her that she was different, an outsider in their tight-knit group.
Niri'te met Kiri's gaze head-on, her own eyes narrowing in defiance. She refused to let her sister's words get to her. Instead, she walked up ahead, catching up with Spider who was waiting for her. The two of them fell into step together, leaving Kiri behind.
As they continued their trek through the jungle, the air thick with humidity and the sounds of the wildlife surrounding them, Niri'te felt a sense of calm wash over her. She enjoyed the solitude of being away from Kiri's constant scrutiny. Spider's presence was comforting, his easygoing nature a welcome contrast to the tension that had been building within the group.
Niri'te had lost sight of Kiri after that, her sister most likely slipping away to go galivanting through the jungle like some sort of hippie. Or at least that's what her father says whenever Kiri goes off on her own. She had always wondered if it was an insult, or something with a negative meaning to it, some childish part of her just wanting to throw petty insults at Kiri like her sister does to her. Even after pestering her father for ages about the meaning of the word, Jakesully had remained very tight-lipped about it for some reason, and Niri'te doesn't know why.
She heard Tuk gasp, quickly turning to her to see the little girl gaping upwards, eyes glued to the derelict remains of a Sky People aircraft, an Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson, one of the same ones that some of the human scientists would use during high stake raids. The Samson was entangled in vines as it hung prone above the forest floor. Niri'te came to stand next to her, staring up at the craft with the same kind of reverence.
It was surreal in a way, Niri'te had seen aircraft just like this just weeks ago in action, raining down missiles and bullets as they attacked her people. And now, seeing one of those very same aircraft that looked like it had been hanging there for longer than she was alive, covered in rust and dents, with vines wrapped around it as the craft decayed.
"Is there any dead bodies up there?" Tuk called up to Lo'ak and Spider, the two boys already making their way up the vines and going into the craft itself. Spider's head popped out on the other side of the craft and informed Tuk that no, there weren't any dead bodies, which Niri'te was secretly glad about.
After some time of waiting for the boys to finish goofing off inside the Samson, Tuk had decided that she wanted to see what was so cool about it that Lo'ak and Spider had spent nearly 30 minutes inside it. Niri'te reluctantly followed, not wanting to be left standing down there alone like some idiot.
The inside was very underwhelming. Most of the floor was missing, leaving sizable holes with sharp and rusted edges, which she had warned the others about, having heard one of the human scientists talking about this thing called tetanus that's caused by being cut with something rusty, or something like that. Lo'ak wasn't listening to her, she was sure of it when she heard him make explosion noises with his mouth as he sat in the empty pilot's chair, twisting the control leaver this way and that as he shot imaginary enemy ships from the sky. And she knew that Spider wasn't listening as well when she saw him stand behind the absurdly large machine gun on the other side of the craft, making similar noise to Lo'ak as he aimed it at the equally imaginary enemies.
Niri'te rolled her eyes at the two, trying not to smile at the way Lo'ak was starting to loosen up. He had been so tense when they left, his temper shorter and he was more closed off than normal. But now he was acting like his goofy, and at times immature self again. And Niri'te wouldn't have him any way else.
Though after another 10 minutes of the boys being themselves and Tuk complaining about not getting a turn with the machine gun or sitting in the pilot's chair, so Niri'te didn't want to take any chances of Tuk throwing one of her signature tantrums and firmly suggested that they moved one, saying that she doesn't want to spend all of their limited time inside the literal death trap that was the Samson.
"Okay you two," Niri'te said to the boys, hopefully catching their attention as she led Tuk back down. "I think it's time for us to go, the sun isn't going to stay out for much longer."
Spider turned around, his expression pleading. "Aw c'mon Ri'te, we just started!"
"Yeah Ri'te, we can't just leave now!"
Niri'te said nothing, just giving the two boys a look and crossing her arms.
"Just five more minutes, please Ri'te!" Lo'ak said, turning around in his seat.
"Yeah five more minutes!"
Niri'te gave an exasperated sigh, throwing her head back as she looked down to where Tuk was waiting for them. In that moment, she truly felt like a tired mother trying to get her two unruly boys to comply and go to bed. Eywa, she wishes her future children won't act like this
"No," she said, giving them a stern look. "We've been in her long enough and Kiri hasn't come back from wherever she wandered off to, so we have to go and find her before it gets dark."
She held Lo'ak's stare, her lips pressed in a thin line. When his stare didn't let up she turned to Spider, giving him the exact same look, though this time popping her hip to the side and putting her hands on her hip as well. Spider's eyes widened slightly, mouth gaping as he stared back. It didn't take long for him to break away and give Lo'ak an apologetic look.
Lo'ak rolled his eyes and stood, huffing like a small child as he climbed down. "Softy," he told Spider as he passed the human boy.
Spider flushed pink and sped after him, jumping on Lo'ak's back to put him in a mock choke hold.
Tuk led the way as they looked for Kiri. Though she didn't stay in the lead as she got distracted by some fan lizards, giggling when the little creatures glided away from her. Spider then took the lead, his head on a swivel as he looked for Kiri. It was clear to anyone with eyes that Spider was very fond of Kiri, Niri'te was sure of it, though she didn't know if the same could be said for Kiri. It would make sense if Kiri liked him back from the amount of time they spent together when Spider wasn't goofing off with Lo'ak or in the labs with the other humans.
"Kiri!" Spider called out, climbing onto a root protruding from the group.
"Kiri!" Tuk mimicked, jumping up to look over the bushes.
Spider called out again, not noticing the way Lo'ak had tensed, his fists clenching at his sides as he looked around them in a panic. They were being too loud, something could hear them.
Lo'ak became uncomfortably aware of the grazed bullet wounds on his back, the little cuts that littered his arms and legs, and the sting of the palms of his hands. His eyes fell on Tuk, the action outside of his control as he edged closer to her, wanting to be close enough to her to pull her away just in case something happens. He gets the feeling that it might be more true than he would like.
Niri'te could see all of this, her worry for Kiri increasing as they kept walking.
Suddenly Spider darted off, Niri'te instinctively reached out to catch him but the human boy was too fast as he disappeared into the brush.
"Spider! Get back here!" She exclaimed, taking a few steps to where he had disappeared.
Great, now they had to look for both Spider and Kiri, what a great way to spend the last hour or so of their little adventure. Hopefully, the two would find each other so the rest of them don't have to turn the whole jungle upside down just to find them.
"Spider, bro, come back!" Lo'ak tried, one hand cupping his mouth while the other held Tuk's arm.
Suddenly there was a noise, the bushes to their left rustling, right where Spider had run off to. They all tensed, Lo'ak pulling Tuk behind him as Niri'te stepped back.
In a quiet, suspenseful moment, the bushes rustled again. Tuk whimpered and stood closer to Lo'ak.
She could hear footsteps. More than one pair. Getting closer, and closer and closer, closer closer closer.
Without her knowing, Niri'te's hand had reached for her dagger, gripping it tightly as she held it in front of her, the noise draws nearer, Niri'te's heart was pounding in her chest, she could feel it pulsing all throughout her tense body, whatever it was just a few meters away, if not closer. She swallowed thickly, edging further away. A hand appeared, blue with five fingers, Lo'ak thought when he saw it. It pushed the branches away slowly, hesitant. Lo'ak pushed Tuk completely behind him, hiding her as she clutched at his arm tightly, pressing close to his back, Ri'te was next to him, her dagger high and her keen eyes trained on the bushes. Right when the hand, blue with five fingers, had pushed the branches, Niri'te pounced. She wasn't going to let whoever it was hurt Lo'ak, hurt Tuk. She just wasn't.
She launched herself at whoever it was, knocking them both to the ground as she pressed her dagger to their throat. She hissed in their face, baring her teeth menacingly.
"Get off me!"
Niri'te was thrown to the side, landing harshly before she was on her feet again, crouched low, tail swishing behind her.
Kiri was on the ground, leaning up on her elbows as she glared daggers at Niri'te, baring her teeth as her ears pressed tightly against her head. She pushed herself off the ground, Niri'te doing the same as she sheathed her dagger, shame and embarrassment flooding her. Niri'te kept her eyes on the ground as Kiri stood, her glare unwavering, an almost unheard rumble of anger in her chest.
"Spider, you kurkung! You scared the shit outta us!" Lo'ak barked, slumping his shoulders as he stepped up to his friend.
Spider winced, curling into himself slightly as Lo'ak smacked him up the head. "Sorry, sorry! I thought I saw Kiri and I just..."
"Just what? Ran off into the jungle without even warning us? Come on dude, that was just foul."
"I said I was sorry! And look! I found Kiri!"
Unbeknownst to the two bickering boys, the twins were caught in a stalemate. Kiri had yet to lower her glaring and Niri'te was just wishing the ground would open up and swallow her whole. Kiri stalked towards her sister, intent on getting back at Niri'te for tackling her, but before she could even take a single step, Tuk jumped in front of her.
"You're back! You're back!" Tuk exclaimed, hugging Kiri tightly. She can admit that it was a little over the top, but Tuk needed a way to draw Kiri away from her anger, not wanting to find out what she was going to do to Ri'te if she hadn't stepped in.
Kiri looked down at her, surprised at her sudden appearance. Tuk grinned up at her, pleased with herself for successfully diffusing a most likely bad fight between the twins.
"Oh, hey Tuk," Kiri said awkwardly, her hand coming up to pat Tuk's head.
Tuk smiled in response and detached herself, skipping over to where Lo'ak and Spider were still bickering.
"Where did you even find her bro? We literally looked everywhere."
"You did not look everywhere, you were just walking in a straight line just hoping you'l just happen upon Kiri wherever she was!"
"We were not walking in a straight line! It was a strategical search pattern."
A beat of silence.
"Strategical search pattern!? Is that what they call fucking off in a random direction now?"
Lo'ak sputtered, his eyes wide as he thought of a comeback.
When Lo'ak didn't answer, Spider gave him a smug look, crossing his arms in a smug way. Like the smug smugger he was.
Lo'ak then punched his shoulder, "Smartass." he muttered. Spider grinned.
"Okay, cut it out you two, we have to get back soon, it's almost eclipse." Niri'te called as she shook out her hands nervously, avoiding eye contact with Kiri as she held her hand out for Tuk, who came bounding over.
Lo'ak rolled his eyes, giving Spider one last shove before he walked off, followed by the rest of the group as they made their way back to the mountains.
Niri'te was at the back of the group, as far away from Kiri as she could be without separating. At the back of the group, Niri'te felt that she could have a better perspective of them, keeping Tuk close to her if anything were to happen. And with their luck, something almost always did happen, it was something that Niri'te loathed with almost her entire being.
Lo'ak stopped, crouching down as he inspected something on the ground. Spider came up behind him to peer over his shoulder, a confused noise leaving him.
"What is it now?" Kiri asked, rolling her eyes as she huffed in a way only she could. Lo'ak waved her off as he moved to the side, keeping his eyes on whatever it was that caught his attention.
Niri'te walked up to the two boys, Tuk trailing after her. "Come on you two, we're supposed to be back by now," she said, casting her eyes up at the slowly disappearing sun worriedly. She didn't want to get in trouble again, not so soon after everything.
"Ri'te's right man," Spider reasoned, his hand on Lo'ak's shoulder as he tried to get the other boy to stand up. "Come on dude."
She looked over Lo'ak's shoulder. finally seeing what it was that had caught his attention. It was a footprint, a shoed footprint, something she hasn't seen in ages. She glanced at Lo'ak, wondering what must be going through his mind.
"It's way too big to be human," Lo'ak commented, his voice distant as he stood, eyes still trained on the print. He turned in the direction of the prints' path, looking for more.
"Avatars?" Spider asked, not noticing the way Lo'ak tensed, Tuk's hand came up to her bandaged face, and the little girl clutched Niri'te's hand.
"Maybe," Lo'ak mumbled. "They're for sure not one of ours." Lo'ak began to follow the prints, deeper into the jungle with Spider following after him.
"Lo'ak!" Niri'te hissed. "Lo'ak stop, we have to get back to camp, we don't have the time to do this." She pleaded, her hand starting to hurt from how tightly Tuk was holding it. She was worried and scared, Niri'te knew, Tuk wanted to go home.
"What are you doing?" Kiri asked, annoyed.
"Shh... I'm tracking," Lo'ak answered thoughtfully, stalking off into the growing darkness.
What is he thinking? Niri'te asked herself, reluctantly following after the two boys.
Her breath hitched when she saw where the tracks led them.
The old shack had been taken over by the elements, its walls encased with spindling vines, dented and rusted with time gone by. The broken window showed the shadowy interior of the shack, ransacked and barren, But it was what was outside the shack that made her blood run cold.
There were almost a dozen camo-clad Avatars milling in front of the shack, their massive guns held loosely in their five-fingered hands. Tuk whimpered beside her, pressing close to her side as the little girl tried to hide away.
Cold realisation washed over her, looking between Lo'ak and Tuk, the fear shown plainly on Lo'ak's face as he paled at the sight of the Avatars.
They were attacked by the Avatars, there was no other way to explain it.
"We're so screwed," Niri'te whispered from where they were crouched behind some bushes for cover.
Lo'ak sent her a withering glare that looked eerily similar to their mother, a chill went up her spine. "Shut up, Ri'te."
She rolled her eyes at him, despite the way she felt as if he was looking through her, his green eyes distant and dull, yet they were shining with fear. Niri'te faked a scoff and turned her head back to the Avatars. The group had been huddled around an old mech suit, the one who could only be the leader stood the closest, his eyes not leaving the suit. "This is your fault though; you shouldn't have followed those tracks." She grumbled.
Kiri looked towards Niri'te with a glance of agreement, surprising Niri'te thoroughly. Lo'ak scoffed but ignored them, keeping his eyes trained on the Avatars.
"Dad's going to ground you," Kiri whispered and Lo'ak rolled his eyes. "Stop," Kiri eyed him amusedly at his aggravation, not seeing how his hands shook. "For life." She continued to tease. "Kiri, stop." He said a bit louder.
"Shh, what if they hear us because your loud ass doesn't shut up..." Niri'te hissed and Lo'ak quietly mocked her. Spider and Lo'ak began to whisper about the battlefield, and Niri'te just rolled her eyes.
"I gotta call this in," Lo'ak suggested and Spider's eyes widened. "No don't, we're gonna get in so much trouble." Spider whispered and he wasn't wrong, especially with what happened with Lo'ak during the raid all those days ago. It felt like it's been a lifetime since that day.
"Listen, let's just go. Tuk shouldn't be here anyways." Niri'te whispered, rubbing Tuk's arm who looked up at her sister, eyes wide with worry.
Lo'ak considered this and nodded his head once. "Let's go." They turned around and began to move further back into the forest as quietly as they could. Lo'ak began to inform their father as Niri'te and Kiri put in their earpieces. They stopped and huddled down while Lo'ak talked with their father.
"What's your provenance?" Jakesully asked and Lo'ak and Spider glanced at each other while Niri'te rubbed Tuk's shoulder. Tuk was shaking badly, her breaths coming out in panicked puffs that heated the skin of Niri'te's neck where the little girl had her face pressed into since she saw the Avatars.
"Uhh, we're at the old shack," Lo'ak said, glancing at Spider who shook his head.
"Who's we?" Jakesully asked and Lo'ak hesitantly spoke everyone's names. Jakesully began to give instructions and soon they were heading out of the area in a hurry.
"We're going to be in so much trouble." Kiri hissed at Lo'ak and Tuk who was in front turned around. "It's almost eclipse come on!" When she turned back around one of the Avatars from before launched out and grabbed Tuk.
She let out a scream and almost immediately they grabbed their weapons and started hissing at them. In a few seconds, they were surrounded by the whole squad. Niri'te began to drop her weapons as the Avatars screamed at them to do so.
A soldier came around, grabbing Niri'te roughly and pulling her tswin. She let out a yell and hissed at the one pulling her braid. It only made him pull harder and he kicked the back of her knees bringing her down to the ground.
The leader's voice cut through the tense silence, his words dripping with condescension. "Well, aren't you a sight," he remarked, his gaze fixed on Niri'te. "Didn't know they came in this colour." He chuckled, a cruel jest at the expense of the other Avatars.
The sound of Kiri's snort broke the tension, and Niri'te turned to look at her sister. Kiri's face spoke volumes, a silent confirmation of her disdain for Niri'te. It hurt, even if Niri'te tried not to let it show. Kiri's betrayal stung, a reminder that even among the outcasts, she was still an outcast. But Niri'te held her ground, meeting Kiri's gaze with defiance. She refused to let Kiri's hurtful words and actions define her worth. She had come to accept herself, flaws and all, and no amount of taunting would change that.
The one holding down Kiri grabbed her hands and almost looked happy to see that she had five fingers. "Colonel, five fingers. We got ourselves a half-breed." Hearing them speak English sounded so foreign to Niri'te, only ever hearing it when her father and Norm were talking, or when Kiri was listening to one of Grace's video logs. But this time it sounded much harsher, when the Avatars spoke, cruel in the way it would be pleasant and calming when it came from someone she knew.
He glanced at Kiri and her fingers before moving to Lo'ak, demanding him to show his fingers. Lo'ak being Lo'ak showed them but decided to flip him off while doing so.
The colonel gave Lo'ak a calculating gaze. "Well, hello again." He gave a predatory grin. "Didn't think we'd see you again, little watcher."
Lo'ak paled at the words, understanding enough to know what the man was saying. He glanced at Tuk, his heart breaking at her terrified face, her hands gripping onto the woman holding her in place. Her bandage had come loose during the scuffle, now peeling off her face, revealing her healing injuries.
The man chuckled. "You're his, aren't you?" Lo'ak responded with a weak hiss but that only seemed to confirm this man's question. "You're his alright."
He grabbed Lo'ak's braid, pulling him up to his feet as Lo'ak cried out in pain. "Where is he?"
At first, he didn't answer but the colonel pulled his braid again. "Ngaytxoa 'ìnglìsì...ne vonvä."
The colonel tugged again. "Peseng ngeya sempul?" He tugged harder this time, making Lo'ak scream. He held his ground though, hissing at the man.
"Really you wanna play it this way?" The colonel took out his knife, leaning it towards Lo'ak's neck.
"Ftang!" Niri'te shouted, Kiri, crying out as well. The colonel stopped, throwing Lo'ak down. He turned walking towards Kiri. "Kehe!" She shouted pulling against the man's grip.
"Kehe, no, stop!" Lo'ak shouted in English as he miserably failed to get up and intervene only to be held by his braid once more. "Stop! Don't touch her!" Spider shouted, trying to pull from his captor's grip. The colonel stopped in front of Spider as if he knew him. "Please don't hurt her please." Lo'ak pleaded behind him.
The colonel's attention shifted to Spider, his eyes narrowing in recognition. "And what's your name, kid?" he inquired as he crouched in front of the human boy, his voice laced with careful hesitation and bewilderment.
Spider stared back at the man, his gaze unwavering. For a moment, he seemed lost in thought, grappling with something deep within him. The silence stretched on until finally, Spider's answer came, sharp and defiant. "Spider," he replied, his voice devoid of any familial connection.
The colonel seemed taken aback by the response, a flicker of recognition and realisation crossing his face. "Miles?" he uttered, hesitantly and bewildered. Spider's response was a venomous glare and a hiss, prompting the Avatar holding him to yank on his hair in retaliation.
A tense silence enveloped the group as Quaritch studied Spider intently. Niri'te held her breath, wondering what was going through Quaritch's mind. The revelation hung heavy in the air, a secret exposed.
Quaritch's nonchalant demeanour shifted slightly as he continued to observe Spider. "You are, aren't you?" Quaritch muttered, his voice tinged with surprise. "You've got your mother's eyes, you know, bright and fierce." His distant gaze hinted at memories long suppressed. Spider remained silent, his glare unwavering, unaffected by the curious gazes of the Avatars.
"What are you even doing here, Miles?" Quaritch inquired, his tone tinged with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. Spider's response was cold and assertive, "Nobody calls me that." Quaritch's eyes widened, realizing the truth. "Well, I'll be damned. It is you, ain't it. I thought they sent you back to Earth," he mused aloud. Spider, somewhat proud of himself, smirked inwardly at his father's confusion. "You can't put babies in cryo, dipshit," he retorted, relishing the opportunity to challenge his father's assumptions.
Finally, the colonel stood up. "What are we doin', boss?" The one holding Spider asked as Quaritch clicked his communicator on. "Iron sky, Blue One, Actual."
Niri'te's eyes widened. This was Spider's father? But how? Spider's dad is supposed to be human... How can this Avatar be the Colonel Miles Quaritch? The colonel is supposed to be dead, his decomposing body was in the mech suit outside the shack. There was no way for the man to be standing here, alive and blue, of all things. Niri'te's head was spinning with all the possibilities.
"Blue One, Iron Sky, send your traffic," came the faint voice from the comm.
"We're standing by for extract, over." he responded. After a moment he spoke again. "Be advised, we are bringing in high value prisoners, over." They began to be moved by the Avatars and Kiri tugged and pulled. "Let us go!" The one holding her yanked her back. "Shut up."
They were moved and forced to sit down, tugging and barking 'shut up' when any of them spoke. As Niri'te struggled against her captor, a video of what sounded like Jakesully and the colonel played.
As the sky began to turn into Eclipse, they gathered the Sully children in a line. Waiting for something, Niri'te didn't know what would come first, their father, or the Sky People that were going to take her and her siblings as prisoners. It began to rain as they waited, listening intently for any signs of their mother or father.
Then she heard her mother's calls, ears perking up she waited for her time to move. Kiri mumbled comforts of her own under her breath, the soldier holding her eventually got tired of it. Yanking her head down he aggressively told her to shut up.
An arrow hit his head only a few seconds after. As they started shooting Niri'te took her chance. Moving her hands upwards she grabbed her captor's arm, biting into it enough to draw blood. He screamed and let go.
"Why don't you come out Mrs Sully?" Quaritch called out from his cover, staring at the yellow and green fletching, immediately knowing who it belonged to. "You and I, we've got some unfinished business." He was taunting her, knew that damn well, but he just couldn't resist.
"Demon!" Neytiri answered, hidden in the trees, her voice sent a chill down his spine. "I will kill you as many times as I have to!"
"I guess you and the corporal have been pretty busy haven't you?" His voice echoed through the forest. "You got yourself a whole litter of 'em, little half-breed tykes!"
Neytiri screamed in rage at the way the colonel talked about her children, she readied an arrow, breathing deeply to calm herself as she took aim. Leaning just past the cover of the tree, Neytiri levelled the arrow at Quaritch's head, all her focus set on killing him for the last time. Unaware she was at the Avatar pointing their AR at her, aiming for her head. But before he could take the shot, an arrow pierced his chest, the tip glistening with his blood as the soldier fell to the ground, dead.
Neteyam breathed heavily as he watched the man fall, his hands shaking as he watched the man take his last shuddering breath. He just killed someone.
Neytiri took one last deep breath, her grip tightening on her bow, her finger twitching. She let the arrow loose, it whistling through the air as it soared toward Quaritch. The arrow embedded itself in his shoulder, the colonel grunting in pain, his hand coming up to break the arrow in half, pressing hard on his shoulder to try and stop the bleeding. Like the coward he was, he retreated to the cover of the underbrush.
In the midst of the chaos, Niri'te's focus shifted to Spider, needing to find him, not knowing if Quaritch and his team wanted to take him or not. She grabbed his arm leading him away as they ran, trusting that Lo'ak would look out for Tuk, having been the closest to her when they were captured.
The two ran along a narrow branch, Kiri only steps behind them, looking back as she watched the Avatars shoot into the jungle without aim. She pushed ahead, willing herself to be closer to Spider and Niri'te as they ran, but the branch was becoming too narrow and thin, unable to hold all three of them. When they had reached a junction, Niri'te pushed Spider ahead, then allowed Kiri to skirt past her, but in doing so, Kiri pushed Niri'te off the branch.
Niri'te had only just caught herself, her bound hands clutching at whatever she could.
Spider turned abruptly, eyes locking on to where Ri'te was hanging, her legs swinging as she tried to pull herself up. He had to help her, he thought, running back to where Kiri was just watching her sister struggle. Something ill and strange swirled in his chest when he saw Kiri doing nothing to help. He pushed her aside, rougher than what was necessary, his bound hands holding onto Ri'te, grunting as he tried to pull her up.
"Go, Kiri! You gotta get outta here!" He called over his shoulder, feet shifting as he managed to pull Ri'te up halfway. But then something happened, Spider was struck, his back burning as his world shifted as he fell, plummeting down to the forest floor. Though Niri'te fell with him, the momentum of his body pulled her down with him. But she reached out to grab him as his grip loosened. The two of them hung there for a moment, the only thing holding them was Niri'te's perilous hold on the branch.
Niri'te's grip slipped, unable to maintain her hold on Spider. Desperation etched on her face, she attempted to reach out to Kiri, but Neytiri intervened, pulling her sister away to safety. In that chaotic moment, Neytiri didn't realize that Ri'te had fallen alongside Spider. The truth of Ri'te's whereabouts was unknown to her.
At the bottom of the embankment, Spider and Niri'te lay battered and bruised. Spider struggled to remain conscious, his body weakened by the fall. Niri'te was in a similar state, her breathing shallow and laboured, small cuts and scrapes littering her body.
In this vulnerable state, Quaritch and his team discovered them. His eyes gleamed with a twisted sense of triumph as he approached the injured children. Without hesitation, Quaritch scooped up Spider, ordering one of his subordinates to retrieve Niri'te. However, before the order could be executed, an arrow found its mark, embedding itself in the Avatar's skull, the body slumping forward, falling onto Niri'te's semi-conscious form.
Realizing the danger, Quaritch and the remaining Avatars withdrew, taking Spider with them and leaving Niri'te behind.
Once the threat was gone, Neytiri came rushing, crouching down next to her fallen daughter, shoving the body off her prone form. Somehow during this, the Avatar's tactical knife had come loose, cutting Niri'te on her neck, dangerously close to the delicate flesh of her throat.
Neytiri gasped in alarm when she saw the blood, her hand pressing down to stop the flow, calling for her mate.
"Ri'te!" Jakesully called out when he saw the two. He ran over, reaching his arms out as Neytiri passed Niri'te to her mate, his hand coming to replace hers on their daughter's neck. "They got her," Neytiri said, glaring at the body of the Avatar, at the bloody knife now laying on the forest floor.
"It's alright, we got her now," He said, standing, Niri'te in his arms. He called for his ikran, climbing onto the beast's back once it landed. "Come, Neytiri, we have to get back to camp."

Niri'te knelt next to Kiri who was listening next to their hut, Tuk had her head down peaking inside. Her wound had been stitched up and bandaged and her grandmother finally let her go after an hour of monitoring her. Niri'te was a bit paler than usual from some blood loss, Mo'at recommended taking it easy. Lo'ak and Neteyam had stayed next to her the entire time, taking peaks at her wound and either making teasing comments or talking about a cool scar forming. They had tried to do this at first, but after Niri'te had lost consciousness due to blood loss, Mo'at had quickly chased them out.
"What's going on?" Neteyam asked as the brothers came and squatted where the rest were. Kiri immediately silenced them, and they began to listen to their parents' conversation.
"I cannot, you cannot ask this." Neytiri stated, pacing the length of the marui. "I cannot leave my people." She set something down. "I will not." She defied.
"He's hunting us." Jakesully replied, and Niri'te's ears pressed against her head as she listened. "He's targeting our family." He sounded so tired, and it made her feel bad for making him worry today. "You cannot ask this!" Neytiri yelled at him. "The children, everything they have ever known, the forest. This is our home!" She screamed at him.
"He had our children. He had them under his knife." A small silence passed. "We got lucky, if Ri'te's neck was cut any higher, she could've died!" he huffed, and a tense silence broke out between them. Niri'te stared straight ahead but she could feel the glances from her siblings.
Neytiri sighed, and a few seconds later they could hear her pick up something. "My father gave me this bow, as he lay dying! And he said, 'protect the people.'" She said a bit more quietly, sorrow consuming her voice. "You are Toruk Makto!"
"This will protect the people!" His voice was sounding more agitated the more he had to explain. "Quaritch has Spider, that kid knows everything!"
Niri'te glanced at her siblings, all of them sharing a look before going back to listening. "He knows our whole operation! He could lead them right in here!"
"If the people harbour us, they will die." Niri'te knitted her eyebrows together, hating that her father was telling the truth. "Do you understand?"
Another silence fell and Niri'te could hear her mothers' huffs of emotion, distraught by the thought of leaving her people behind. "Look I got nothing, I got no plan." Jakesully admitted. "But protecting this family, that I can do."
Neytiri growled. "But running away will not solve anything! We have to stand and fight! We are not cowards! We are warriors and we will protect our family, our home."
"Neytiri—" Their father started.
"No! I will not run away. I will fight!"
"Babe, please—"
"No, you cannot ask this, you cannot!"
Listening to their parents back and forth tore a whole in Niri'te's heart, she hated that it had come to this, with her father thinking the only way they'll ever be safe was to run away, and her mother wanting to stay and fight, like the warrior she was raised to be.
"You cannot ask this..." Neytiri said softly, her voice pleading.
Jakesully sighed. "I know."
Neytiri sobbed, her hand coming up to keep quiet, not wanting her children to hear her cry like this.
Niri'te knew what this meant, this meant they were leaving their home. Neteyam rubbed her shoulder in comfort, and she grabbed his hand in silent thanks.
"But I know one thing." Jakesully paused. "Wherever we go, this family is our fortress." Nri'te looked at her siblings and they all snuck away quietly to go to a spot and talk about what they just heard.
Later that night the parents brought their children into the marui to tell them the news they were already expecting. They were leaving their home, to go far away, to protect their people and their family. Niri'te was upset, beyond upset really, and she knew everyone else was too
She didn't get much sleep that night, thinking about how she will most likely never get to see her friends or call the Omatikaya Clan her people ever again.

What exactly does Springy’s spinoff in the AU involve? Like, I’m assuming that part of it is him still dealing with the loss of Goldie. Or, is that a bit that you’re still working on?
<Incorrect-fnaf-quotes
OKOKOK BSLDHEKEHEKDJ ahem
so before Springy's spinoff, what ends up happening is that he tries to burn down the diner (in the beginning of part 2), and Finn was actually inside the diner while Springy was doing this almost cinematic type scene I have in my head (I'll see if I can sketch it out at some point, either as a mini comic or animatic)
and so as Springy's getting ready to burn down the building and set himself on fire, Finn is in a distant room practicing his guitar (Freddy was gonna pick him up in a bit, so he was gonna lock everything up and such)
so, Springy's like prepping up and pouring gasoline on everything and stuff, and so he sets the building on fire from the inside, and Finn starts to like, smell something burning so he walks out of the room he was in to find a rabbit engulfed in flames (he doesn't know it's Springy)
and so Finn is like "what the hell ??" and he tries to get closer to Springy and put out the fire (the fire extinguisher is closer to Springy), and so Springy sees him and goes manic, straight up running and attacking Finn in this angered, distraught frenzy (think Geppetto in GDT's Pinocchio if you've seen it)
as they're wrestling on the ground, Springy ends up wounding Finn in the eye
Finn manages to get away from Springy and calls Freddy, and Springy runs out the back door and essentially runs away, and this is where the story splits from the gang and Springy's perspectives
now in Springy's spinoff, he ends up running for days and days, as far as he can from Fredbear's, from all the pain and suffering, and he manages to find shelter in this old decrepit building
inside that building he finds a young rabbit, who's pregnant (I haven't developed her character yet hrng, so she's currently nameless, having the title of ✨ Vanny's mother ✨) and so they're both scared and alone, but after a while they end up taking care of each other and becoming a family of sorts (Springy becoming a sort of loving father to her and baby Vanny once she's born !!)
(I hope I'm not boring you with all this rambling 😭😭)
I'm basically speedrunning through the story, but essentially the 3 of them become a family of sorts and it's really cute and it helps Springy heal a whole lot (he loves his girls ;-;)
sadly that happiness has to come to an end
cowabummer 😔😔
Vanny is now probably still a toddler, around 2-4 years old, and Springy's taking care of her while her mom is out running errands ✨✨
Vanny's mom gets into an accident and ends up dieing, and it crushes the ever loving hell out of Springy, who has to now take care of Vanny and not shut himself from the world like he did when Goldie died. he has to be there for his little girl !!
the years pass and Vanny grows, and as she's growing she gets more and more rebellious, and Springy gets older (mi viejito ;-;) and it gets to a point where they get into a heated argument and Vanny runs away, thus starting the ✨ Glamrock Spinoff ✨
yay ✨✨

Story time
I love my old guy best friend (platonically) and I found it out at his baby brother's christening
So I was at a christening today
It was my old guy best friend's baby brother (as in the friend with 2 mums-yes I was amazed a church accepted same sex parents)
Anyway, he says hi to me and my family seen as we don't know any of their family. I said a quite hi, he explained how he did something to his knee, while STANDING UP! And now he has a brace. My parents laughed, and he went back to talk to someone else
His biological mum came and said hello, and walked into the church with us. We sat down and the service began. I felt like a fraud being an atheist in a church, pretending to go along with the prayers. It was a quick, and pretty shutty service to be honest. There was even a quiz about baptism some people participated in. I was just uncomfortable.
After the service we drive up the road to this pub which is owned by one of the mum's best friends so they got a party for free. There was lots of food and I felt uncomfortable about it, seen as I had eaten but wanted to eat again. I went outside and got a bench. I felt so fucking tired, so bored, and hungry. Some time goes by, and me, my mum, dad and one of my sisters are sitting at this bench. And then my dad calls over my old guy best friend (we'll call him J) because my sister was do8ng something funny. The three of them were laughing and joking and then they started reminiscing the past. Talking about the new neighbours and how ut was better before they moved away (they lived in the flat beneath us). And then they started bringing up the things we used to do, and J brought me into the conversation, like he actually spoke to me for once. He started talking about how my dad once put us in a suitcase when we were little and sat in it (we were okay, it was hilarious), and then about how we would be in this big communal garden and my dad and hus mum would pour water on us from my flat balcony above. I felt happy to talk to him. I thought it would be hard, but it just flowed, it made sense. I felt calm around him. At social events I get anxious and I just want to go home. But talking to him made that go away. I even ate good because I had spoke to gin. He made me feel as though it didn't care if I ate. He has this hold on me. He always was the best friend I could ask for. I can't believe I won't see him for like at least 2 years.
When he moved 100 miles (3 hours) away, I was broken. I developed gad (generalised anxiety disorder) and I went to therapy for a few months. I always thought it was just because I lost my great grandmother but it was more. It was also losing my best friend a few months later. I was alone, for the rest of primary school, I had the occasional friend (including my other neighbour, Frankie) but it wasn't the same. I get it now. My platonic love for this clumsy, skinny, ginger haired boy is what gas kept me alive. Seeing him makes me light up, gives me reason to live. I never realised until now just how much I loved that boy. I never realised I could relate to Frances and Aled in having platonic love. I didn't think I could ever feel that. Yet I have been, since I met him at age 1, 13 years ago. I have loved that idiot for 13 years and not realised it. Him leaving me changed my life, made it depressing, full of anxiety. And everytime he returns, even for a few hours, I get that inner peace. That inner happiness I've been longing. None of my other friends give me this feeling. But he does. The boy who doesn't even realise it. They boy who has had numerous new best friends, while I've been stuck on him. Not being able to move on. It really does sound like a relationship and a breakup. And it is, but a platonic one. One of two best friends. One a silly blonde girl and the other a hilarious ginger boy. Destined to be in each others lives, no matter how distant. Even if I have no way of contacting him, he's in my heart.
This is not where I expected this story to go (I added the title at the end).

OC Headcanons #2
them and their families : )
violet lives with her dad. her mom died when she was 7 or so. violet was greatly affected by this as she was super close with her mom. her and her dad just... don't know how to connect with each other. theres love, but its distant and awkward. she honestly gets along better with red's mom.
daphne has a large family. she lives with her mom and sister, kris. ethan and lyra stay over frequently enough to count as residents, with lyra genuinely living there fulltime. she's also related to wallace and lisia in hoenn, and i made wallace and lisia related to wally so it's a whole family tree. theres also [redacted]. her mom and dad divorced when she was still a baby. he's not in the picture at all anymore. daphne thinks he can go eat shit. besides that, she's very close to all of them, even the ones in hoenn. (minus wally. his poor health meant he was never able to visit sootopolis and trips to petalburg were rare) family means a lot to her.
ivy actually has 2 parents who are still together! everyone be shocked! norman and her mom, of course. she's very much a daddys girl and always jumped at the chance to help norman out. not as close to her mom, but it's still a good relationship.
chryssa has her mom and her twin brother lucas. it is not a well adjusted family. their dad died shortly before they were born and johanna did not take it well. johannas something of a contest stage mom to chryssa while pretending lucas doesn't exist since she only wanted one girl and not a pair of twins. chryssa hates her mom and has very complicated feelings about lucas.
ieva has her mom and 3 brothers. matas and marius (older twin brothers) and ramsey (younger). she gets along well with her brothers! she's especially close with matas, tho she spends more time with ramsey since they're closer in age and he still lives at home. she was very close to her dad who died when she was 12ish. he was her hero growing up and his death put her into something of a depression. close to her mother as well, though she was always a daddys girl.
bryony only has her mom, though hugh's basically a brother. it's a very chill relationship between them. has not an inkling who her father is and doesn't give a shit.
carmella also only has her mom. they're very close due to them being the only constant in each others life for so long. grace is honestly kind of overprotective at times and carmella pretends to hate it, but she secretly loves it. im going back and forth on her possible dad so.
kiana is also very close to her mom. similar to carmella, they moved around a lot so they were each others sole consant. her father was giovanni and considering how young she was when they left him, kiana actually looks back on him semi-fondly. when she meets him again, not so much and she realizes with hindsight how messed up her early childhood was. also lives with her grandmother but they aren't super close. kiana just hasnt spent much time around her. also has a half brother in silver. once they meet, she thinks he's the coolest ever and silver has no idea how to respond to the blatant hero worship.
lili is adopted by a single mother, but she also has a secret sibling who wasnt adopted alongside her (bede). gets along well enough with her mum, alongside her grandparents who she also lives with. does not get along as well with bede. that is a supremely rocky relationship for quite a while and even once they come to terms with things they're more likely to argue then get along.
jess lived with her mom. she didn't enjoy it. why do i keep giving the sinnoh oc's horrible mothers. rip. when she's yeeted to the past and experiences some memory troubles, one of the biggest holes is memories of her mother. this gives her a sense of relief and she's not wholly sure why. sometimes, she feels bad about that and wonders what it says about her. anyways, gets pseudo-adopted by laventon and in turn pseudo-adopts vessa as a little sister.
