Hi!!!! I Hope You’re doing okay and having a wonderful day/night. I was wondering if you can do a Wonka x reader fluff where basically the reader works for slugworth and is supposed to you know hate wonka but both wonka and reader have feelings for each other. And maybe it can center around the reader trying to confess their feelings to Willy but slugworth is always getting in the way of it. (So cock blocking 💀). But In the end it’s Willy who confesses to reader.
The Chocolatier and The Receptionist

Willy Wonka x reader
Words: 3981
Authors notes: I am so sorry this fic is a lot longer than I expected. I usually like my fics short and to the point but with this one I just kept going and going anyways I hope you enjoy reading it cause I had fun writing it 😉
Tumblr media
All you wanted was a simple job. One that was routine and easy, but of course no job was that simple.
Slugworth’s assistant, Miss BobBon, had gained much responsibility in the past few months and due to that, Slugworth decided to hire a receptionist and that’s where you came in.
All you did was respond to a flier but Slugworth seemed to like your quiet demeanor and he gave you the job easily.
At first being Slugworth’s receptionist was easy enough; take calls, write down messages. Slugworth was nice enough being that you got the job done. He didn’t talk to you much, other than a simple approving smile when you’ve done your job correctly.
However, with all this recent news about Wonka, an opposing chocolatier and his rising chocolate popularity, Slugworth’s irritation has begun to be
noticeable.
“Miss BonBon, when is my appointment with the chief of police?” You heard Slugworth ask his assistant as they walked right by your desk. You watched as she rifled through her binder. You, of course having organized that meeting yourself, answered him, “it’s at 3:30 Mr.Slugworth,” you chimed.
Mr. Slugworth turned around, a curt smile on his lips as he retraced his steps back to your small desk. “I’m sorry, are you my miss BonBon?”
Your eyes immediately went down to your desk realizing the sort of mood he was clearly in, “no.”
“Well then why are you answering receptionist?!” He said before turning back around and walking off leaving you to grumble to yourself as soon as he was far enough.
God, how you hated working for that man, if not for the pay then who knows where you would be by now.
After spending the last few hours pouting at work you called it a day and began your journey home.
Your abode was only a mere twenty minute walk and while some would hate the journey you didn’t really mind it at all. Sometimes it gave you just the amount of time you needed to clear your head.
Currently, it was giving you the time to grumble as you walked. As you strolled along you noticed the tiny delicate snowflakes as they began to fall. And with that beautiful sight taking place, your complaints stop as you come to a street bench. Sitting on it you look up and close your eyes letting the flakes decorate your skin.
The flakes melt at the contact against your face, causing you to become more relaxed, calm. You were so occupied by that feeling that you hadn’t realized a boy had come to sit at the other end of the bench.
“Rough day?” Asked the boy and your eyes shot open just now noticing there was someone else there. You glanced at him before deeming him harmless enough and shot him a small smile, “just the usual annoying day at work,” you reply.
“Hmm,” you watch as he looks down, his lips pressing together in a quick thought. “Well I’ve got just the thing to cheer you up!”
You observe as the young stranger quickly pulls out a jar and from the top he takes a small piece of candy and holds it out towards you. “This here is a Choco-Vanilla Spring Wafer, first an outer layer of chocolate, then vanilla, before you get to the wafer which is made with the flour of a special flower on a lone island not too far away. One bite of this and your mood will turn right around,” he exclaimed with a smile appearing on his face.
Your expression turns sour as the gears spin in your head while he sits there hand still out towards you, and after one more glance from his candy to his face it finally clicks. “It’s you!”
That exclamation made him jump a little in his seat before he looked around to see if you were talking about himself or someone else.
“You’re that chocolatier,” you clarified. His smile confirmed your statement. “Wonka. Willy Wonka is the name, chocolate is the game, except chocolate is not a game. It’s serious.”
He fails to make a change of expression on your face but only because you were too busy looking at the man. This was the first time you were seeing him and given how much he was affecting your boss, you expected him to be
older
and more sinister looking.
He gives you an odd look as you’ve just been practically staring at him. And once you don’t move he holds his hand out again motioning for you to take the chocolate but instead you jump up from your seat. “Are you kidding me? I can’t take chocolate from you! You’re the reason my job is so terrible!” You shout accusatory.
“Me? What did I do?”
“You and your chocolates are ruining my life,” you continue, ranting as you throw your hands in the air exasperated.
“How so?” He asks, voice genuinely concerned.
“It’s just
ooh you just
” you raise a hand palm open wide before curling it into an annoyed fist. I mean it wasn’t his fault exactly, all he was trying to do was sell chocolate and make a living, just as you or anybody else would. You sighed a dejected sigh and gave up, “nothing, it’s nothing.”
You stand there while he sits, both quiet, until he asks, “chocolate?” He repeats, his proposal from before still standing, but you hold your hand up rejecting the offer.
“I can’t, my boss would kill me if I had your chocolate.”
“You really care about this boss of yours,” he states and you scrunch your face in annoyance.
“I do not, for all I care he could catch a cold for a week,” you say nodding at your own sentiment while the boy called Willy Wonka grins laughing a little at your words which still seemed kind to him.
“I just need my job, that's all.”
“I really doubt your boss would mind.”
“Oh I know he would mind, in fact I shouldn’t even be talking to you right now.”
You turn around and continue your walk causing Wonka to leap up from his seat in order to catch up, “wait, you can’t talk to me?”
“My boss really, strongly, dislikes you,” you explain, eyes focused forward as the boy followed beside you.
“Fine,” he did as you did, taking steps while facing forward, “then I won’t talk to you, I’ll just talk to the air that's beside you.”
A smile breaks way on your face and he catches it, smiling as well.
“Goodbye Mr.Wonka,” you say, pulling the collar of your jacket up for two reasons; to keep you warm and to hide your grin.
He seems to catch the message as he stops in place while you continue on leaving him standing in the snow.
That night you can't help but ponder on what might’ve happened if you set your loyalties and fears aside and just took piece of the chocolate but oh well maybe in another universe.
The next morning on your way to work, you notice a spectacle taking place nearby. Curiosity taking over, you approach and as you near you recognize the voice.
Wonka.
There he was in front of a small stand with his name and a few jars of chocolates.
“—Today I will be showcasing my new product. These are what I like to call Choco-Vanilla Spring Wafers.” he repeats his pitch, glancing around at the various faces in the crowd and as he does so he spots you. His smile widens while the crinkles around his eyes deepen, but he continues on professionally. “On the outer layer, chocolate, before a simple but delicious vanilla flavor, before you get to the wafer which is made with the flour of a special flower on a small, lone island not too far away from here.” He makes his way through the crowd making sure to make eye contact with each and every person. “One bite of this and your mood will turn right side up. Don’t believe me? Try one,” he comes to a stop right in front of you as he says so, and holds out a piece of the chocolate.
Now, you know what you said the other day and you know you work for another chocolate company, but after spending the night pondering over what that chocolate would’ve tasted like, you couldn’t stop yourself from growing more curious and right now what you wanted more than anything was a piece of that candy, so you took it from his fingers unwrapped it and then gently placed it into your mouth.
Willy watched as you chewed on the chocolate and a smile spread on your face, “it’s delicious.”
He smiles a smile of relief before turning around, “you heard it here folks it’s delicious, now get one of your own to try this new delicious chocolate.”
The crowd rushes forward as they all hold out their sovereigns wanting to try it themselves and with a single wave and a smile you depart leaving Mr.Wonka alone with his booming business.
He was right though, your mood did seem to turn right around.
Once you got to work you went straight to your desk pleased that Mr.Slugworth had yet to arrive which meant peace for at least a few minutes.
Which only felt like seconds today.
“I can’t believe the nerve of that Wonka boy!” Shouted Slugworth as he entered the building followed by his assistant. Your ears perk up as he walks by and you notice he has a familiar jar in hand. “How dare he sell chocolate when the police specifically ordered him not to. Ooh he’s becoming a real pain.” You watch as he opens the jar taking a piece out, “what good is his chocolate really anyway?” He pops a piece in and you can tell he adores it just by the expression on his face before he conceals it, “It’s just wretched,” he says entering his own office.
Oh that stubborn boss of yours, you thought. Thankfully that Wonka’s chocolate seemed to be working as your boss’s words had no effect on you whatsoever.
The day went quickly and soon you were on your way home just as the other afternoon.
Now, you weren’t looking for Willy Wonka but you couldn’t say you were upset when you had crossed paths again.
“You’ve really got to get a new hobby besides following me around,” you joked, starting conversation.
“But why would I do that when our afternoon discussions are my favorite time of day.” You didn’t know what response you were expecting, but that was a little more forward than you anticipated, but you met him at the same level.
“Really? Even more than making or eating chocolate?”
“Almost. Not entirely but it’s getting there.”
You turned to look at him, the smile on your face lessening once you recognized how his expression displayed a true small appearance of contentment, which seemed to throw you off guard.
You blink twice avoiding the sudden weird tension you were beginning to feel. “So what did you want this time? I’ve already tried your chocolate.”
“Ah,” his mouth gaped as if just realizing something, “yes you’ve eaten it but what did you think about it?”
You found the question silly given that you’ve said it earlier, “I told you, it was delicious.”
He shook his head, “not good enough . What about it was delicious? What was your favorite thing about it? Was there anyway it could’ve been better?”
“You’re really asking me for my thoughts?”
“Of course. Every customer's opinions are important to me.” That was true, but more than most of the time the customers' opinions were positive. And if he were being one hundred percent honest, he seemed to already care more about your opinion than any other customers.
“Well like I said it was delicious,” you repeated as you walked on and he nodded for you to continue. “The chocolate layer was the perfect taste of milkiness that stayed in the back of the mouth, and when the vanilla hit it was a swirl of the both and it felt like they were working together until the two tastes became singular. Then, of course the wafer was the most important part adding the crunch to bring your attention back to the taste. So yes it was delicious.”
You had been lost in your thoughts, you hadn’t noticed Willy stopped a few steps behind you, his expression gentle.
“What is it Willy?”
He shakes his head, his brown curls bouncing as he does so, “you have a way with words unlike any other.”
“Ha okay, thanks I guess,” you say laughing more to yourself at the odd compliment you’ve never received before.
“You’re welcome.” He says joining your stride again.
“You have a way with chocolates.”
“Thank you.”
You two continued in comfortable silence. The sound of the snow crunching underneath your feet. And that was the end of that.
Except it wasn’t.
Wonka and you had spent the next couple of days chatting just as you had been. He’d always meet you somewhere along your way home and you two would just talk for a bit, honestly it was actually becoming one of your favorite times of the day. You were beginning to grow curious of the man and his qualities and frankly you found yourself wanting to know more.
Which is why one day on your strolls you plainly said to him, “while I do enjoy our late afternoon chats, I do sometimes wish that we could converse more during the day?”
Willy’s eyebrows raised in what looked like excitement but someone else voice rang out before his own.
“Wonka!”
Turning around your shoulders cave forward as you notice Slugworth walking in your direction. He came to a stop in front of you and gave you a look before turning to Willy, “may I steal you away from my, oh so loyal employee, to share a word with you?”
Willy, brain seeming to connect the dots glances between you and Slugworth as you give him a knowing smile.
You chime in seeking for an exit from whatever was about to take place, “of course. We were done anyway. Goodbye Mr.Wonka,” you said, turning around giving the two their time.
As you finish your walk home you realize how wrong it all must’ve looked, you spending time alone with Wonka of course it would be inappropriate. But still even with those thoughts, you go to bed unable to keep the young chocolatier out of your head. You both hated and yet felt, for the way he was making you feel.
The next morning when you arrive at work Mr.Slugworth is already there, his buttock planted on your desk and he seemed to be in a weirdly strange mood.
“Oh hello, lovely receptionist
” you give him an odd look before filling in the blank for him by giving him your name, “ah right! Of course. Don’t you look lovely today.”
“Thank you?” You say questionably while setting your coat behind your chair.
“Of course, of course
ahem,” he cleared his throat and you expected what was to come next, “I was just curious about this Wonka fellow,” there it was. “What were you two um
chatting about?”
“Hm, nothing really, just chocolate.”
“Chocolate? Hm, his or ours?”
“Just in general,” you say, trying to be vague.
“Ah, in general of course,” he says, finally removing himself from your space while you take your seat.
He walks around behind you to push your chair in for you and while he does so he leans down to your level.
“Just remember where your loyalties lie in this business,” he says, his voice low, before returning to his office leaving you to your work.
That afternoon Willy waits outside across from your office doors and once spotting you he bounds over. “Willy?” You ask, confused that he’s met you so early in your walk.
“I was going to meet you further on but I had recalled that we hadn’t yet finished our discussion from yesterday.”
Your eyebrows raise, “right, our discussion yesterday,” your eyes peer up and Willy follows your gaze as you make contact with Slugworth who’s shamelessly watching the scene from his glass windows.
“Um yesterday, right,” you took your attention off Slugworth and back to Willy. “
yesterday I actually was going to tell you, it would be inappropriate to continue spending time with you
goodbye Mr.Wonka.”
You give one last look upwards and notice Slugworth smirking beyond that glass, oh how you would love to punch that smirk right off. But instead you walk away quickly.
Willy stands stunned before he too looks up glaring at Slugworth before chasing after you.
“So that's it? We can’t talk anymore because you work for Slugworth? Is that what you want?”
Now being a good enough distance away from your office you turn around to talk to him face to face, “no it’s not.”
“Come work for me,” his chocolate eyes stare deeply into yours as he seems to beg for you to take his sudden offer with just a single look.
“Are you crazy? I mean I wish I could but do you have a factory? Can you promise a stable income? What even is the job?”
With each question you take note of how he looks down, refusing to answer because he essentially can’t.
You intake a deep breath, your chest rising as you do, “I wish I could but I need a steady job. I’m sorry.”
You turn back around as you were but he speaks again, persistent in continuing conversation, “when I make it big and official, you have a guaranteed spot in my factory, whichever position. What do you want to be; a taste tester, chocolate maker, or you could remain receptionist.”
“Willy
” it sounded nice working alongside him but who knows when that would be, “It’s a nice dream Willy, but that’s all it is
a dream.”
You both continue on his step now further behind yours as he seems to recall something, ïżœïżœsomeone special once told me that every good thing in this world started with a dream. She told me it was important to hold onto mine, so I am.”
“She?” You asked, curiosity increased.
“My mother.”
“Well your mother sounds like a wise woman.”
“She was,” he says he doesn’t say more but he doesn’t need to, you can tell by his expression that she was no longer with the living.
“
I’m sorry.”
He gives a saddened smile, “it’s alright, I’ll see her again.”
You gave an encouraging smile, unsure what he meant by that before moving forward with your conversation, “your mother sounded like a wise woman, and I admire her positivity
But sometimes a dream remains just that. A dream and for now that's all it is
a dream.” You say matter of factly, before uttering a final, “goodbye, Willy Wonka.”
Two days go by and you hear nothing from the young chocolatier. And with no news of Wonka you’ve noticed the change of attitude in Slugworth as he seemed to be oddly chipper than usual, but of course you chose to ignore the strange feeling you got from that man, he always kept secrets from you so why care about it now, you were just the receptionist.
That afternoon as you return from work just about to unlock your front door your attention gets grabbed by a young girl who strolled next to you. Upon taking a glance you realized, “I know you
?” You said recognizing her features to be one of Wonka’s helpers that you’ve seen in the crowds before.
“Noodle,” she said and you repeated it, (a trick you’ve learned to memorize names).
“Willy asked me to escort you to the old fountain only a few roads down. If you’ll agree of course?”
You contemplated your options; entering your place and spending a cozy night in, or accepting the man’s invitation and joining him in a who knows what adventure. At one last gnaw on your lip you agree to follow the girl.
Traveling slightly behind her, she leads the way, “how do you know Wonka?” You asked curiously.
“Willy?” The young girl asks, “he’s a close friend, we’ve sort of become close to being in the same predicament,” she explains.
Your mouth opens into a small ah as you nod showing you understand, but truly you didn’t, “what sort of predicament?” You asked, but before you could get your answer you had arrived. She guided you and motioned for you to go towards the fountain and you did.
It was fairly secluded especially considering the fact being that it wasn’t very much to look at, it was an old run down fountain and there were much simpler ways to get to town.
The girl walks away and you wait, finding this all to be unusual. As you wait you notice the fountain light up from underneath before it goes into a pattern of changing colors. Flowers aligned along the bottom of the fountain begin to bloom, one by one a variety of colors. You don’t know how he did it but it was sight to see, you honestly weren’t even exactly sure what was going on.
You followed the trail flowers with your eyes as they led all the way around and as it came to an end, that's when you noticed he was standing right beside you.
“Willy?!” You asked shocked and concerned as he stood there with his hand palm up as a small white box with a ribbon bow lay in it.
“I want you to try this.”
“All this for me to try chocolate?”
“He opens the box revealing a round chocolate. This is my new product called the Dreamscape. One of these and you’ll feel light and content. It’s a good dream wrapped into a piece of chocolate.”
You don’t know what to say, you admire his uniqueness, his charm, and his creativity in this whole plan and it honestly left you quite speechless.
“You said all of this is a dream. Well if being here with you is a dream, then I don’t want to wake up.” He holds the bite box out further to you and it takes all of your facial muscles not to react to his cheesy yet sweet phrases, “will you dream with me?”
Your brain tried to intercept and remind you of your work and what would become, but your heart was in play too as they both battled for the main position.
Willy stares, on edge, as he tries to gauge your reaction which was taking more time than he expected.
Until finally, eventually, you breathe out,“you really know how to win someone's heart.” With that sentence you pick up the piece of candy and take a bite out of it. “But I’m still working for Slugworth, so don’t make a big deal out of this.”
He raised his hands declaring a truce.
But with that single piece of candy you found yourself becoming happier with each second that was passing as you stood there, and so did Willy.
You didn't know what the future would hold but you were certain that if anyone could make their dreams come true it was him. And sure enough, days soon to follow after, Wonka and his team devised a plan to beat the Chocolate Cartel. (You may have given Willy some assistance in telling him where Slugworth would be located for the day).
Because of the disappearance of the Chocolate Cartel, Willy Wonka was free to finally begin his dream of making chocolate in his very own chocolate factory. Except, this turn out was slightly different from his original dream. This dream was sweeter, because it had you in it.

Hello! I Hope You’re having a wonderful day/night. I was wondering if you can do a Wonka (2023) x reader where the reader is a show girl and is in love with Willy Wonka. And the reader works as a showgirl for slugworth (to Yk promote his chocolates). But reader and Willy falls for each other and it’s a whole forbidden love type thing since readers boss hates wonka.
Hello! Thanks so much for the request!! Gotta love the forbidden lovers trope (probably one of my favs tbh).
Willy Wonka x Showgirl!Reader (Wonka 2023)
Warnings!!!: Fem!reader, cursing (literally once, I'm pretty sure)
A/n: Baby's first request + Baby's first time posting fanfiction (AJGSHSHEJJXHDJDJ) Hope it's not awful.
Tumblr media
Sometimes you wondered why you ever agreed to this job.
Being a showgirl wasn't as easy as a lot of people seemed to think it was.
Every other weekend, you performed at the local theatre to promote Mr. Slugworth's infamous chocolate. Two shows on Friday, two shows on Saturday.
Sounds easy enough. But, Mr. Slugworth insisted that no two shows could be the same.
Which meant that everyday you weren't performing, you were learning a new song and new choreography for your next performance. Which got very tiring very quickly.
Tonight was a particularly bad night. You were barely halfway through your show and already wanted to just collapse in the middle of the stage and sleep. Your costume felt tight, there was hardly anyone in the crowd, and your face hurt from how much you were smiling.
You had just finished your third number when the theatre doors opened. A young man walked through the doors. You recognized him from an incident in which he made your boss float through the air.
You briefly looked at him before going into your fourth number.
To your surprise, the man chose to sit right in the middle of the first row. Right in front of you. Now that he was closer you could see that he was actually pretty handsome. Dark brown curls that framed his face well and beautiful eyes that seemed to watch you in utter amazement...
You had to look away.
At the end of your performance, the man cheered loudly. Full on cheered, despite everyone else in the theatre simply clapping quietly.
He interested you with his sparkly eyes and bright smile. But, you knew you couldn't be interested. Your boss absolutely despised this guy. So, he wasn't cute and you weren't interested. That was that.
You were leaving the building through the back exit, happy to finally be out of your costume and headed home, when-
"Hi, there!"
"Ah!" You were startled by the sudden and enthusiastic greeting of... The guy you definitely didn't think was cute.
You sighed, regaining your composure after he had frightened you. "Hello." You said back simply.
"Sorry if I startled you there! I just wanted to compliment you." He said with a smile that for sure didn't make you want to swoon. "You are the most incredible singer that I've ever heard."
You couldn't help but feel flattered. "Thank y-"
"And you're an amazing dancer."
"Tha-"
"How do you even manage to dance in those tall, fancy heels?"
"I-"
"And isn't it strange to be taller than you usually are when you wear heels? Does that bother you at all?
You paused, making sure he was done talking before speaking again. "I guess being taller than usual would be strange at first. But, I'm used to wearing heels. So, being tall isn't weird for me."
"Like a giraffe." He said.
"Wha-"
"I'm Willy. Willy Wonka." He stuck his hand out.
You paused for a moment. Mr. Slugworth definitely wouldn't like the fact that you were talking to him... But, he wasn't here right now.
"I'm Y/n."
These little post-show conversations became something you looked forward to.
It was every Saturday, after your last performance of the night. He'd always be right outside the back exit waiting for you. Talking to him was always thrilling. Your heart beat a little faster whenever you were around him, breaking the rules... And maybe it was also because you thought he was cute.
You couldn't lie, over time, you'd grown to like him. And based on all of the lingering gazes and soft smiles he'd given you, you were pretty sure he liked you as well.
One day, you were backstage, looking into the mirror as you put on your makeup. You glanced up and in the reflection of the mirror was your boss, Mr. Slugworth.
This couldn't be good.
You turned around to face him. "Hello, Sir." You forced a polite smile.
"Yes, hello." He said with narrowed eyes. There was a brief moment of silence which you decided to fill.
"Did you want to talk to me about something?" You said, hoping the innocent head tilt you gave him was convincing.
"I know what you're doing." He said, ignoring your previous question.
Shit.
"One of my associates told me that they saw you and Mr. Wonka meeting behind this theatre every night."
You stayed silent. You knew you were guilty and you knew you probably couldn't talk your way out of this.
Mr. Slugworth continued. "I don't want an explanation or excuse from you. I just want you to agree to never speak with him again."
"What?!" You were shocked. He couldn't do this! He couldn't just tell you to stop talking to someone outside of work! He didn't have that power!...
Except, he kind of did. You knew how Mr. Slugworth was and you knew he wouldn't hesitate to fire you over something like this.
And that's why you agreed.
That night you left the theatre through the back exit like you always did. But, tonight you walked right past Willy.
"You were incredible tonight! I- Where are you going?"
You ignored him and kept walking. To your surprise, he began to follow you.
"You look sort of down.. Is something wrong? You can talk to me about it. I'm sure I can make you feel better!" He said as he continued to follow you.
He continued to try talking to you, and you continued to ignore him. He ended up following you all the way to your doorstep.
"Y/n? If it's something I did to upset you, I'm really sorry."
You took a deep breath and turned around, looking around to make sure no one was watching before you grabbed him and yanked him into your house.
As soon as he was in your house he looked around. "I like your curtains." He said.
"I'm not mad at you." You told him.
He smiled. "That's good to hear. I was already thinking of an apology chocolate recipe for you and it would've been-"
"Willy." He went quiet when you said his name. "Mr. Slugworth doesn't want me talking to you ever again."
"Oh?" He thought for a moment. "Well, that doesn't seem fair."
"Yeah. It isn't fair."
"Well, then don't listen to him." He made everything sound so simple. So easy. You wish you could see the world how he saw it.
"I can't just not listen to him. He's my boss." You looked at the ground. "And I need this job..."
Willy crossed his arms. He furrowed his brows in thought for a moment. "Huh."
...
"Huh." He looked back to you.
"What?"
"Why don't you just work for me?" He suggested with a smile. You were about to protest, but decided to hear him out. "Yeah! You can quit working for Slugworth, then you and I can update your act, and you can start promoting Wonka's Chocolate!" He said, excitedly pacing your small living area.
You thought over the plan. "Huh." You chuckled. "That's... Do you think that could work?"
He walked over to stand right in front of you, looking into your eyes. "I know it could work."
You shook your head with a smile. You were probably gonna regret this. "Let's do it."
"Yes!" Willy clapped and then stuck out his hand so that the two of you could shake on it. Instead of shaking his hand, you sort of let your emotions take control.
You grabbed his face and kissed him. After a moment you pulled away, a bit shocked at your own actions. You searched his face for any signs of discomfort and were met with a smile.
"That was better than a handshake." He said with a chuckle before leaning forward to capture your lips in a soft kiss.
Ok, you probably weren't gonna regret this.

A World of Pure Imagination
Author's Note: This is my first story. It's a Wonka 2023 x Male!Reader. Let me know if you want a female version of this story, too! Just message me! Also, I'll refer to the reader as Yin instead of Y/N. It'll still mean your name; it's just a different way of writing it. This might change later. Let me know if you like the 'Yin' idea or not.
Enjoy the first chapter!
Summary: Yin is a runaway after his parents died before he turned 18. He meets Noodle, and when he needs a place to stay, she sneaks him into Scrubbit's and Bleacher's. Yin wishes for change. His wish seems to come true when an eccentric and very cute chocolatier comes to town, ready to sell his chocolate.
Chapter 1: A Chance Encounter
Tumblr media
Yin walked around the Gallery Gourmet, his (hair color) (straight/curly/wavy) slightly messy from the wind. He looked around at all the shops and restaurants for what felt like the hundredth time. It's the same old thing over and over again.
As he got closer to the center of the Gallery Gourmet, he saw where the three titans of chocolate resided. Arthur Slugworth, Felix Fickelgruber, and Gerald Prodnose. The sight of the three buildings made him tense, and he looked away.
But just before he could turn and walk away, he heard a voice. But not just a speaking voice. The voice was singing.
đŸŽ”At last, the Gallery Gourmet
I knew that we'd see it one day
It's everything you said, Mama
And, oh, so much moređŸŽ”
The voice was tenor like and sounded very optimistic. It drew Yin in, and he followed the voice. He weaved through people, excusing himself as he followed the voice.
đŸŽ”Each way that you turn, another famous chocolate store
Here's my destiny, I just need to unlock it
Will I crash and burn or go up like a rocket?
I got nothing to offer but my chocolate
And a hatful of dreamsđŸŽ”
The voice got louder and more clear, signaling he was getter closer. Now, he was in the center of the Gallery Gourmet, and what he saw surprised him.
It was a man, a man around his age; maybe a little older.
He was dressed in a magenta coat with faded gold embroidery, a fuzzy vest over a striped button-up shirt. He also saw a bluish gray scarf around his neck. Beige striped pants that looked like mailman pants, tall worn brown boots, and a brown lumpy top hat. He also had a cane with him. From physical features, Yin could tell he was lithe and pale but not in a sickly sense. He couldn't see his face too well where he was, but he could tell he had dark brown curly hair underneath the top hat.
It was an unusual attire to see, but Yin quite liked it, even feeling envious because he was dressed similarly to the man; minus the coat, hat, cane, and scarf. But the unusual outfit wasn't what took him him off guard. It was the fact he was dancing in the middle of the square.
He looked ridiculous, but Yin couldn't help but find it endearing. He let out a couple of giggles before covering his mouth, a blush blossoming onto his cheeks. Since when did he giggle like a girl with a crush?
Then, he saw Officer Affable tap on the mysterious man's shoulder, reaching his hand out. Yin could only sigh in annoyance. He hated the 'no daydreaming' rule. It was stupid. Not to mention, you have to give three sovereigns for it?! He rolled his eyes. Whoever made the rules needs a good smack on the head.
The man reluctantly gave the officer the money before he left. Officer Affable made eye contact with Yin before giving the boy a nod. Yin nodded back respectfully. Officer Affable was a decent guy; better than some of the other officers.
Yin went to leave, but as he turned, he accidentally made eye contact with the top hat wearing man. He let out a soft gasp. He saw that the man had some sharp facial features but still managed to look childlike.
He quickly recovered and gave the man an apologetic look with a nod before quickly running the opposite way before the man could respond. Once he was behind a building, he inhaled and exhaled softly, his cheeks warm with embarrassment.
'I can't believe I embarrassed myself in front of him. God, I'm an idiot. But.... he didn't judge me when I was blatantly watching him. He actually looked friendly and really cute.' He thought to himself.
Yin bit his bottom lip shyly. He couldn't wait to tell Noodle this later.
(Time Skip to nighttime)
Yin sat in the room in the back of the lobby of Scrubbit and Bleacher's, leaning against the wall. Next to him was Noodle, his one and only best friend. She was reading a book as he read silently next to her. He would occasionally point at a word, silently asking Noodle what it meant. He was intelligent, but Noodle reads more than he does.
The scratching at the entrance to the wash house caught their attention. He heard Mrs. Scrubbit scolding Tiddles, the wild guard dog. They heard Bleacher talking to Ms. Scrubbit. Then, they heard they had another guest.
'Oh no. Not another guest.' Yin thought to himself.
They listened to the two talk, along with the voice of the new guest, a voice Yin swore he recognized.
Mrs. Scrubbit then called for Noodle to pour glasses of gin, which she reluctantly did. Yin took the opportunity to take a peek out into the main lobby. He saw the two pigs known as Mrs. Scrubbit and Bleacher, but when he saw the new guest, he had to hold back a gasp in worry.
'Oh no. It's the cute man from earlier!' He thought to himself.
Yin took Noodle's hand and dragged her into the backroom again.
"Yin? What's wrong?" Noodle whispered.
"It's him." He whispered back.
"You mean..."
Yin nodded. "The man from the Gallery Gourmet."
The pair watched the three converse.
"You see, I'm something of a magician. Inventor and chocolate maker. And first thing tomorrow at the Gallery Gourmet, I plan to unveil my most astonishing creation yet!"
Yin felt his body tense up again. He planned to sell chocolate?! Here?! He's up against the Chocolate Cartel, the only ones who sell chocolate in this town. He can't compete with them.
Yin watched the man remove his top hat. He got a better look at the curly haired man. Sharp jawline, tall nose, his eyes were big and wide, paired with a set of bushy but straight eyebrows that matched perfectly. However, he couldn't see what color his eyes were.
He wondered what color they were.
He watched as the man reached into the hat to seemingly pull out his creation. Instead, he pulled out a teapot.
"A teapot."
"No. That's just for making tea. One second."
He put the teapot back into the hat and went for a second time. This time, he pulled out a bunch of carrots.
"That's for my stew."
Noodle and Yin giggled as the curly haired magician got flustered and tried a third time, but instead continuously pulled out an assortment of scarves. Yin placed his hand over his mouth to prevent a particularly loud giggle that was about to escape his mouth; also, to hide the soft blush that was starting to bloom onto his cheeks.
After Yin calmed down, he saw the man, which he learned was named Mr. Wonka, revert back what Yin assumed was his usual demeanor as he thanked Mrs. Scrubbit. Then, Yin saw Scrubbit take out the thing that he and Noodle dreaded. A contract.
"I have to stop him from signing that. Yin. Go to my room and hide before Mrs. Scrubbit and Bleacher find you." Noodle instructed in a whisper. She pointed up the stairs from her hiding spot in the backroom. "You know where it is."
Yin, knowing the drill, nodded and quickly but quietly jogged upstairs to where the workers sleep. He got to Noodle's room and slipped in, closing the door. He sighed and sat on Noodle's bed. The room was dark, with only a few beams of soft blue moonlight shining through the window, bars on the outside of said window.
'I hope Noodle managed to convince Mr. Wonka into not signing that contract.' His thoughts then wandered to the very adorable magician. 'He seemed so optimistic and driven about his creation. I hope it’s as astonishing as he says it is.' He thought to himself with a soft smile.
Yin removed his boots and laid on the bed. He pulled the threadbare blanket over him. As he drifted off, he thought more about the optimistic and aspiring chocolatier. He was very excited to see what would happen tomorrow.

Dante Reyes: Tonight, we'll hunt down creatures with our weapons to poison them.
Regina George: Yes, my lord, it's my turn to strings! My turn to hunt! (Pushed in the pushing bag)
The hunters walked out of the room in the darkness, back to the forest, in her bunker, Poppy drew the picture of her, her sister, her mother and her father before her sister's disappearance and her mother's death, she put it back in the box. That night, the teens walked into the woods, with their loaded poisonous dart guns and the butterfly nets are ready, the brothers continued staring at the clear, night sky with peaceful in Branch's heart. They stopped staring at the stars, something caught his eye. He see the hunters in the flashback as baby crying and seeing his father's sacrifice during the attack. End of the flashback, beyond his home, in the trees across the fields and below a mountain. The hunters putting their masks on, then they walked into the woods.
Branch: That's my land, hunters in our homeland.
John Dory: We got to check it out and fast.

Spruce: I'm agree with you guys (they grabs their weapons onto their backs, they swung down the the tree they were located on and landed safely on the ground. The brothers swiftly took off.
The bounty troll hunters loaded poisonous dart guns are ready, Dante Reyes walked in the tent. The bounty troll hunters smiled at the rookie with her new suit.
Dante Reyes: Tonight, we hunt down trolls! (Talons Bounty Troll Hunters cheer for his master plan)
Branch, John Dory, Spruce and Floyd continued to ran though the trees and across the valley and valley without having to stop. In order to improve their speed, they sometimes ran in all fours, a trait that their kind uses should they ever want to escape their foes. Unlike the other trolls, the brothers can ran longer distances, has a high stamina for it and many survival skills that were earned throughout the years. Now they're finally paying off. Finally, he reached the edge of the forest until he stopped shortly when they saw something embedded on the dirt. The dogs smell them as they see trolls while they barking at the brothers. They ran across the dogs barking and they were seen them running.
John Dory: (gasped and whispered) Dogs?
Branch: (gasped and whispered) Still fresh,
Spruce: (whispered) Guys, looks the hunters bring the dogs, they barking and stalking at us.
One of the dog: Woof!
Floyd: Who are they?
John Dory: (whispered) Hunters! That's man is their new leader and they want to hunt us down. Since Daddy sacrifice himself to save us all, 20 years since Clay's disappearance along with Viva back, we were kids.
Floyd: (whispered) It's not too late for you to leave. Forgot about us. Just be careful.
Ignacio Carapax: Hmmm! Oof! Oh what the? (One of the dogs barking) I knew, they across all of y'all in the forest. I'm going to the boss about the good news.
Branch: I told you, We'll return to the village. (The brothers looked up at the hunters and they gasped, Dante Reyes say)
Dante Reyes: Suprise, trolls!
Branch: No! It can't be! Listen to me! We must fight to the hunters. Gather Alder want everyone you know and run! GO!
Bounty Troll Hunters #6: We got them now!
Bounty Troll Hunters #9: Ha! Got him! (Branch whipped at the hunters' face)
Branch: Oh, you think so, huh? (hidden smirk, he has reached his end. As he dashed ahead, the hunters gasped when Branch and Floyd suddenly jumped and climbed on narrow edges on the vertical wall. The brothers stretching their hairs and grabbed onto a small rocky ledge of the wall. Waving a wave to the hunters, they swung forward like a slingshot.
The brothers: Yeah!
John Dory: See y'all next fall!
Dante Reyes: Don't ever do this! Regina!
Branch landed upright and hurried off to the exit.
Branch: (laughing, running as fast as he could. He dashed around a corner and ran up the rocky path. But just as they thought they were home free, Regina darted on his right upper shoulder, a rope was suddenly around his waist, trapping his arms, and was pulled to the bottom of the cliff.)
John Dory, Spruce and Floyd: Branch! (Branch groan, Arthur Slugworth and his partners Gerald Prodnose and Felix Fickelgruber used their butterfly nets and captured them as they scream in horror.)
Branch: What just happened? (shook his head and noticed the rope around him. They looked up to where the rope led by Regina.)
Floyd: Who is she?
The brothers looked up at her, a spotlight shined on fully as Branch see poison on his upper shoulder and he shivering with fear.
Branch: AH! No! You're poisoned me!
Spruce: O O Oh, how's could you!
Arthur Slugworth put John Dory, Spruce and Floyd in the bag and tie it up.
John Dory: I It's is... (Arthur Slugworth evil laugh)
John Dory, Spruce and Floyd: NO, NO, NO, NO! D'OH!
Spruce: (mumbled) NO!
Dante Reyes: (evil smile, the hunters holding the rope.) Though you trolls got away, didn't you, trolls?
Branch: (gasped, in the vision, Hernan Reyes' evil laugh, Thorn fight against him. Baby Branch crying and wailing for his father's sacrifice during the attack and the fires. End of the vision, he shivering with his eyes.) Big mistake, ugly! (growled and charged at him. But then another rope to grab his right foot, snared his hair, pulled him back painfully. Ahh!
Branch struggled to escape, managing to pull his arm free, but unfortunately, the hunters threw one more rope which bounded his wrists together.
Branch: Let's us go! (panting, that's he lost his father to the hunters.)
Poppy arrived on the table and see the hunters, they looked at her.
Arthur Slugworth: What was that thing? It's looked like gray but it looking dark. How's it got up here?
Poppy jumped up to try tackled him, Regina used her net to captured her and then he put her in the bag. The hunters tried pulling Branch up, despite his struggles.
Poppy: (mumbled) Hey, watch it!
Dante Reyes: (whipped his horse, with the jeep, the horse neighing) To the village!
He and the hunters walked to jeep while dragging them and straight back to the village. At the Village's museum, Clay and Viva has to escape from prison. Clay is taller and slender, his hair became messy lime green hair and he wear a green one suit romper with a diamond. Viva is slightly taller, her hair is curly, with one lock of her hair resting down on the right side of her face and pink yellow sparkling makeup. She wears a white leotard with golden colored trim and a pink star with golden trim on the the chest. She has red leg warmers with pink lozenges on them.
Clay: (gasped and held his pictures of his mother Ivy, his father Thorn who sacrifice himself to save them, because of his disappearance along with Viva, his grandmother and his brothers.) Mom, Grandma, John Dory, Spruce, Floyd, Branch!
The call of his brothers' help, his mother asked him to come home. He regains his memories, reminiscing those of his brothers, family, friends and himself. He fears of forgetting everything and knowing that losing his brothers.
Clay: I...AM CLAY, SON OF THORN AND IVY AND THE HEIR OF GLADE CLAN! I AM THE MIDDLE BROTHERS OF JOHN DORY, SPRUCE, FLOYD AND BRANCH! I must to save them from the hunters' threats! (running out of the museum, fast as he can to save his brothers.) I'm coming brothers! Help is on the way! I have to go now! That's is my greatest fear. Losing my brothers. I have to save my brothers! He had a big amount of guilt as he blame himself for leaving the forest, since his father's sacrifice during the attack and the fires in the woods. He ran into the church, with a plan and Viva's help to save his brothers.
Can Clay regain his memories and reunite with his brothers on the next chapter.

~ Theory ~
Ok so maybe this is an obvious theory maybe someone already came up with this but I think I have a theory that connects all three adaptions of Wonka together.
If you have not yet seen "Wonka" please be warned, spoilers ahead just a trigger warning.
The theory is....
Wonka's parents divorced and Wonka went to live with his mother until she passed away and he went back to his father, as his father was a dentist and hated anything to do with candy, he made him wear a brace and forbid from eating candy so Wonka his the bar that his mother gave him and kept it with him in secret. When he discovered the taste of chocolate, he decided to follow his mothers footsteps and become a chocolatier something that angered his dad and then he run away.....
Short but bittersweet.
Seeing "Wonka" did answer the question about what happened to his mother and the fact they covered songs from the original movie and I believe that after the experience that Wonka had with Prodnose, Slugworth and Ficklegruber, i think that's why he created the test for the children in the original adoption to see who was honest and loving and not selfish and spoilt.
This is my theory but i could be very wrong.

wait no get back here and tell me your earnest wonka thoughts
HI ANON I LOVE YOU
Warning: this will get spoilerish
Okay first of all, I love the callbacks to the 1971 film. Were they occasionally a little heavy handed? Maybe! But they made me smile. The last scene before the credits (watching the Chocolate Room come to life) legitimately made me tear up a bit.
I think paralleling Charlie only ever receiving one chocolate bar a year by having Willy’s mother make him one bar a year worked really well! It informs how Wonka might interact with Charlie one day, and why Charlie was the perfect heir. It also really contextualizes the Everlasting Gobstopper, which is helpful because of how big of a role Everlasting Gobstoppers play in the ‘71 film particularly.
I do wish it was a bit more invested in dovetailing in the with the ‘71 film overall (with one exception which I will mention in a moment). In particular, the ending makes it a bit hard to see how Slugworth, Prodnose, and Fickelgruber will return to being respected chocolate makers/serious threats to Wonka. I want to know what happened in the interim between this story and the three of them sending spies into the factory—specifically, were they trying to restart their candy empires, or bolster existent businesses? Am I overthinking this? Yes.
This is entirely my own personal little bugbear, but I’m also not a fan of “Hover Choc,” because I feel like it kind of defeats the significance of Fizzy Lifting Drinks (with that said, the Fizzy Lifting Drinks scene is the Worst Part of the 1971 film, so I don’t know why this bothers me so much).
In general, re: changes, this never feels like a Roald Dahl story, but it sure feels like a Paul King story. And I think that’s fine? Dahl hated the ‘71 film, and I think that it’s okay to let this proceed as its own entity (and, frankly, to let go of any need to “honor” Dahl, who was an awful person).
And now for perhaps my most earnest (and possibly most controversial) opinion:
I think it’s absolutely fine that Timothee Chalamet leans into the gosh shucks golly gee vibes and lands Wonka more in Cloud Cuckoolander territory instead of going Wilder-levels of Dark. Because that’s. The point? He hasn’t literally had all of his faith in humanity destroyed, and hasn’t spent years locked away in an empty factory. That’s very much the point. This Wonka was never meant to be that Wonka. Not yet. Something something all prequels are tragedies. Is Chalamet a little cloying sometimes? Yeah. I won’t argue that. But that earnestness is not, in and of itself, an enemy to the character’s authenticity and his role within this story.

Wonka Review by: Alicia
MILD SPOILERS
The most common criticism I have heard about Timothee Chalamet's performance as Wonka is that he does not capture the whimsy or sarcasm as Gene Wilder's Wonka. In Chalamet's defense, I felt that he was sufficiently whimsical in his song and dance routines. I won't harp him as the greatest actor in the world, or claim that he was the perfect Wonka, but he played the role well.
As beloved and memorable as Wilder's performance was, the addition of his sarcastic and "savage" personality was a creative liberty on Gene Wilder's part. I do not believe it is fair to criticize Chalamet for choosing to not portray this interpretation of the Character. Chalamet's performance is the closest resemblance to how I imagined his personality in the books.
The theme of "the poor" overcoming the "greedy" and wealthy was perfect. An important aspect to Wonka's character is that he hates greed. In the book Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, Wonka has an internal monologue about how selfishness, especially over money, brings out the worst in people. This theme is more subtly touched upon in the first book wherein each of the four naughty children fall victim to greed in their own way.
Wonka's generous nature is forefront and prevalent. As it should be. And the reveal of Slugworth immorally coveting his inheritance provided a nice contrast between the two characters.
The villains Slugworth, Fickelgruber, and Prodnose, were only mentioned in the book, so I think the film did a good job in fleshing out these characters.
The new characters such as Noodle, Mrs. Scrubitt, and Bleacher, felt sufficiently Dahlian. The "poor orphan" is a common trope in Roald Dahl's children's stories, as well as the "abusive caretaker".
I liked the implement of the exotic ingredients used to make his chocolate special. Wonka's chocolate isn't the best in the world because he has some sort of innate magical talent; they are the best because of his worldly travels, creativity, and kindness towards those who would share their treasures with him (such as the giraffe). The exotic ingredients are a reference to Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator wherein Wonka invents Wonka-vite, a de-aging pill that contains things such as the hoof of a manticore, and the front tail of a cockatrice.
There is also a scene in the beginning of the film where Willy accidently drops a coin into a sewer grate. I thought this was a cute little easter egg implying that this was the same coin Charlie finds to buy his winning chocolate bar in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
TLDR: I liked it :)

2023 Wonka movie and Clara Oswald for the reverse ask game?
for this ask game!
Wonka 2023
i like the wonka prequel. i don't love it, i don't think it's good, but i like it. if charlie and the chocolate factory wasn't my special interest, i think i would have watched it once, thought it was silly but a good time, and moved on. if the character wasn't supposed to be willy, i would even say he's a perfect fantasy family christmas movie protagonist. but alas, it's poorly written, has horrific acting, and worst of all, the most outdated body-shaming jokes i've seen since the early 2000s. that being said, i do genuinely listen to some of the songs regularly because they're fun and sweet and a simple escape from... everything that's happening in my life right now. it captures (some of) willy's characteristics well, in a blinding innocence/cover-the-hurt-with-humour sort of way that makes sense for a prequel. it gave me noodle who is an interesting charlie parallel and thus gives fuel to my headcanon fire, especially when considering where the hell she is during original canon. it gave me canon slugworth, ficklegruber, and prodnose, something i've been wanting for years. at the end of the day, it gave me more willy wonka content to think and write about, which is the actual only thing that keeps me going so i can't complain.
Clara Oswald
listen. i used to hate clara but it was literally you who convinced me to like her. the thing is, i was a HUGE river/doctor shipper in ye olden days of 2013-2015 as a literal child and found myself in online communities where it was either choose river or clara OR be cyber bullied. river is still one of my favourite dw characters, but now that i've rewatched her episodes as an adult (as recently as yesterday when i was making that gifset), i can see how much she represents a Particular Era of doctor who that truthfully doesn't really hold up. what the fuck does "hell in high heels" mean. meanwhile, clara and the doctor have some true fucked up toxic co-dependency, become one another, two souls intertwined, not platonic not romantic but a secret horrible third thing relationship going on and that has become My Shit. the older i get, the more irredeemable i want my favourite characters to be because it makes them more interesting. don't give me vanilla, don't give me a hero, give me a villain hardened by war. heaven sent favorite episode. That One Edit You Showed Me >>>>>>.
clara/eleventh doctor has no rights though.

In what way specifically is the trailer inaccurate?
every single way, he never did the factory for his family, he enslaved the oompa loompa people and he sabotaged several budding chocolatiers, that's why slugworth hates him

Character ask: Grandpa Joe (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Requested by @comma-after-dearest
Favorite thing about them: The wonderful stories he tells that reveal the history of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and his sheer joy when Charlie finds the Golden Ticket that propels him out of bed and gives him a new lease on life.
Least favorite thing about them: That in the 1971 film, he convinces Charlie to try the Fizzy Lifting Drinks, which nearly gets them both killed and leads to Wonka (seemingly) denying Charlie his lifetime supply of candy, and in response to the latter, he urges Charlie to sell the Everlasting Gobstopper to Slugworth.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I love chocolate.
*I love to tell stories.
*I sometimes lounge on my bed too much, but I have bursts of physical energy when I get excited.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm not a grandparent.
*I'm not 96 years old.
*I'm not married.
Favorite line:
The long stories he tells about Wonka's history.
And from the 1971 film, about Veruca Salt:
"If she's a lady, I'm a Vermicious Knid!"
brOTP: His son Mr. Bucket, his daughter-in-law Mrs. Bucket, his in-laws and bedmates Grandpa George and Grandma Georgina, and above all, his grandson Charlie.
OTP: Grandma Josephine.
nOTP: Charlie.
Random headcanon: Thanks to the revitalizing power of Charlie's good fortune and going to live at the chocolate factory, he'll live to the age of 122, the oldest age that any known (non-Biblical) person has reached in real life. This means that at the end of the book, he has 26 more years to go, and they'll be full and happy ones.
Unpopular opinion: The trend of hating him and calling him "the real villain" is ridiculous. Maybe it's just a joke that no one really agrees with, but it's become so widespread online that I think older fans who meant it as a joke have taught younger fans to sincerely believe it. He's not "lazy" or "faking disability" at the beginning of the story. He's 96 and 1/2 years old, and he's genuinely weak and bedridden, until the sheer joy of Charlie finding the Golden Ticket miraculously revitalizes him. No, it's not realistic, but this is a fantasy story. If you can believe in Oompa-Loompas, chocolate mixed by waterfall, chewing gum that turns a girl into a giant blueberry, etc., then you should be able to believe that sheer joy can cure a bedridden old man of his feebleness and make him leap up and dance. As for the Grandpa Joe of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, specifically, he is a flawed man. The Fizzy Lifting Drinks incident is bad: it's supposed to be bad. But "flawed" doesn't equal "unredeemable jerk."
Song I associate with them:
"I've Got a Golden Ticket"
youtube
Favorite picture of them:

Wonka was feeling down but even so he knew that Melody spoke the truth
With his enemies no longer in town, things really could only get better from here.
The chocolate-maker pat the hand the seamstress had placed on his shoulder, conjuring up a weak smile in return for the one she gave him. “You’re probably right
Hey, maybe Affable will take him in
”
Willy looked down at his candy-coated clothes again.
“I hate to tell you this, Melody, but that wonderful outfit you made me
 Lost ‘em at sea
Slugworth and the others tried to blow me up on that ship and
” The next thought had him depressed again. “I lost all my belongings. Except my hat and cane, by some miracle. Even lost my travel factory
I don’t know why, but I never thought I’d lose it
” To top things off, there was a picture of his mother inside that was lost with the rest of the portable workshop.
He started to cry, quickly turning away from Patch. He wasn’t ashamed of tears, but he just didn’t like to bring his loved ones down with the waterworks.
“Do you believe me about the little orange man, Melody?” Out of his six human companions, only Noodle had been witness to the Oompa Loompa. Her testimony, unfortunately, wasn’t worth much considering she was just a child.
Melody just listened to his venting, she knew he probably just needed someone to listen to him right now, it was abundantly clear he had been through a lot. Originally she had believed being stuck in that launderette was the worst possible thing that could have happened to anyone, but looking at him and knowing everything that happened to him...yeah she was starting to second guess her initial idea of what was worse.
As he finished his venting, she simply offered an attempt at a reassuring smile and set her hand on his shoulder in a rather feeble attempt at comfort. Yet she was at a total loss for words. What do you even say to someone who's just been through everything he went through. It's not like a simple 'it's okay' is something that would do much in this situation.
"Listen, stuff is really...not all that great right now." She started, not knowing what exactly to say. "But things can only get better, I mean I doubt there's anything much worse than...well all of this. And hey! I'm sure Tiddles'll find a new home. A good one too."

(Lili lites her hands up, using the fire to block/evaporate the liquid chocolate like blocking a squirt gun stream) Ugh, burnt chocolate smell. (She continues this until she reaches and passes right through Slugworth to turn the valve) You think this is it? As a dead man I have all the time in the world a day or an eternity I WILL ruin Wonkas' legacy. (He dosen't see the other MK sneaking up behind him with the mirror.)
Slugworth: And I will-!
Coraline: CRAM IT! *Traps Slugworth in the mirror* That guy was getting annoying.
Norman: Never thought I could hate a ghost this much.
Dipper: Yeah
 Well, let’s banish this guy.

Heyy! Do like the original willy wonka movie?
Hey, Anon! I generally enjoy the original film! I have a complicated relationship with it, but as I have gotten older, I have more appreciation for it. The first version I watched was Burton’s because I was super young and it had just come out. It was not until I was about six or so, when my parents rented the original on VHS (I am that old lol.) I remember being super excited to see Mr. Wonka and his factory again because I was stupid and thought it was a continuation of the 05â€Č version. I was super disappointed that it was a musical and that tunnel scene like ??? It scared the crap out of me and I had to stop watching the film. I continued the next day and I just remember being overall bored with it. Wonka yelling at Charlie made me upset as a kid because he seemed so nice and then to have him start yelling confused me. I decided that I only loved the 05 version and dedicated myself to it. I maybe would have been more open to rewatching it, but the way that adults treated me for liking the new film, made me dislike it even harder. I hated the way adults told me I was wrong for loving the new one and that I didn’t know what I was talking about.
Flash forward to now, I met my boyfriend last year and he prefers the old, but acknowledges and likes the new version. It just isn’t his favorite. We made an agreement to watch both. I honestly was not looking forward to a rewatch, but I was curious to see if the rose tinted glasses of childhood would block my enjoyment. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed it overall! Wilder’s performance is perfection, the score is really good and the acting in general is well done. I am not a big fan of a lot of the changes from the book such as making Slugworth a villain, the fizzy lifting drinks and eliminating Charlie’s father. I still don’t really like the ending because Charlie didn’t deserve to get yelled at for Grandpa Joe’s mistakes, but it’s just a nitpick. I no longer despise the old movie like I did as a kid. If it was on television or my boyfriend wanted to watch it again, I would! I think it is a solid film just like the 05â€Č version is!

“Oh, is that so? Well, that’s fine. You like what you like, even if it is the bottom of the barrel garbage Slugworth is putting out these days.”
