While I really love the MCU Guardians of the Galaxy, I really wish they specifically didn't have so much synergy with their comics counterparts. Obviously Bendis' habit of bringing in random Earth characters didn't help, but the team dynamic in almost every run but Ewing's has been just a worse version of the films'. Gunn's changes aren't bad for the movies' sake, but when they try and make the established 616 gotg act like them it just comes off as weird, and for some reason we're still doing it in the year of our lord 2023. I just wish the MCU didn't have such a profound impact on the comics so we could've had two very different but well-written versions of the team.
Synergy hit the Guardians harder than any other characters and it was inevitably going to happen even if Gunn wasn't involved because the moment Feige wanted to do a GotG movie the comic Editors wanted to make the characters more audience friendly and basically tasked Bendis (who really didn't want to do it and had to be convinced to, which also explains why his run is so bad) to be the person to do t.
Even though Bendis has admitted that beyond reading Clarmeont and Byrne's Star-Lord he really didn't read or care much about the other characters. he was going to reinvent them and the plan from what I could tell was to synergize the movie with his own comic. But it's really that. Most writers that got involved with the Guardians really DGAF about them or just don't know what the hell to do with them. After the first movie came out you could told most just copied what Gunn did with them in the MCU. Problem with that is that no one is as good as James Gunn at doing his brand of humor, no one saw past the comedy aspect and reduced them to just jokes. Drax always took everything literally and couldn't understand metaphors or figure of speech. Gamora was always a flawless stoic badass. Rocket was angry 24/7. Groot had no personality. Peter Quill was a manchild that everyone disrespected and ridiculed.
This was especially bad during the period between vol.1 and vol.2 where everything was just a repeat of the plot in the first GotG movie. Guardians don't get along, Guardians find an ancient powerful Mcguffin, Guardians have to fight bad guy who wants the Mcguffin, Guardians have to band together and get along in order to defeat the bad guy. If they fought a bad guy it was usually Korath, Nebula, Ronan, or the Chitauri.
The GotG cartoon was notorious for this, and when it started bringing out non-MCU stuff it was things from the Bendis run and it's why you had multiples episodes with Asgardian and Symbiote related plotlines.
I also get the feeling that a lot of the writers that handle the Guardians don't really care about them as characters nor about their history. The current GotG writers for example feel like they really care more about writing a space western than really writing a Guardians story. The Guardians in the comic just feel like Guardians in name only.
#wondy answers#The GotG cartoon was sooo bad#they fought Thanos so many times#that's how uninspired they were#and then to outdo themselves they fought Carnage Thanos#asfffrfrg#Only the Adam Warlock arc was decent#but the next season they lose every character development they had from that

Pairing: Charles Leclerc x Reader. This is a simple Christmas blurb. ;)
Perhaps his skin becomes so much lighter is because the colour of snow. There's theory where someone's skin is usually getting more light if the background is also light and not dark. Maybe the theory also works on him. Because in your eyes, he looks more... How can you say it? Glowing mayhaps.
You look at him thoughtfully, when you thought this man couldn't be more fine, then he always proved it. Clearly this is one of his moments. He looks at you, abandoning his skiing pole on the ground full of snow. You're shivering, sure you're using many layers, but holy shit, you're not used to cold temperatures. Clearly will never be.
"Mon cœur... Are your still shivering?" He asks. You are about to scoff, not enjoying any questions from him while he asked it with hint of humour—the urge to laugh at you, you can see it on his eyes, you know him too well anyway.
As he try reaching you while walking, leaving his pole with his friends—having conversation about skiing you clearly don't understand about, you're kicking some of the snow on the ground. You should be enjoying the trip. Last year, Charles tried to get you on board on the trip, but failed at the attempt since you were so against the cold temperatures, knowing how bad you can be.
You snap jokingly, well you can't be mad at him nonetheless. "What do you think, Leclerc?" At that, he laughs and finally standing in front of you. Hands on your waist, creating some patterns you don't really pay attention to in this situation.
"My love, I'm not laughing. I'm fully concerned," he continues. Making his face to full acting, trying to look like he's not going to make fun of you. Yet his eyes are soft, looking at you like you're his favourite person to be with, like you're all that matter. Making you knees buckle.
It's your turn to laugh before sighing. "I don't know why you asked me to be part of the trip. I can't even do anything, I'm only slowing you and the guys."
His green eyes—which you've noticed since you first met looking straight at you. There's some frowns that you hate so much. During the season, you knew how much pressure he had. Ferrari battling for the World Constructor Championship added to his shoulder, making it a cherry on top, you'd say.
After Abu Dhabi, his mood worsened. Loosing the title to McLaren certainly made his mind wander over something not certain and useless in your perspective. He kept blaming himself, thinking all What-Ifs, if only he did this, if only he didn't, if only he was better.
You hate it. You think his frown and depressive stare are your biggest nemesis. Something that you wish Avengers could fight like when they fought against Thanos.
You remember those days where you couldn't attend the Grand Prix, having jobs you needed to be at, he called you after the free practice, qualifying, hours after race—especially after bad results, he tends to be alone after bad race, not wanting to throw some tantrums or putting his anger at you. It leaves some bad spots on your emotions, seeing him so sad and blaming himself adding your personal problems with the sports.
You just want this trip to be his healing list. You don't want to worsen his days by making his holiday worse than ever.
Yet he shrugs it off. "Baby, what are you taking about? I only agreed to this winter trip so we can have our time together. If you didn't agree, I wouldn't too. I'd rather stay at home, maybe doing something funny while decorating Christmas tree with you, ma chérie."
These are the moments where you are sure that before you meet him, you never understood the situation of love. Back in the days you only think that love was impossible for you. Because in your mind, you thought, what could be love from you? There's nothing special. You're just... You. You're no model, you're no extravaganza, you're... No special.
But then there's interesting Monégasque who does anything to make you feel loved. Who's every actions makes you like you're everything. Who's actions are calculated, proofing how he would do anything for you.
Just, maybe, if you are loved too after you met him.
He continues. "We can stay in any city that you want. Summer, winter, any season doesn't matter. And like other every cities than exist in this world, there is city in my heart where you are its only population."
"Oh, Charles Leclerc. You're a fucking simp. Now teach me."
Yes, this moment definitely on your 'He's the proof where I am loved too' list.
"و في قلبي مدينة كُل سُكانها أنتي.'
"And there is a city in my heart where you are its only population." By Mahmoud Darwish.

I Will Avenge My Ghost [Bucky Barnes/Reader]
Summary: Your sacrifice on Vormir was meant to be your end. You did it for love. You did it for family. And you had no regrets in your decision to be the one to jump instead of Steve. But you never expected to wake up in Wakanda and you certainly never thought that you would still lose Steve and your sister in the years since your death. While you can't get Steve back, you're determined to figure out what happened to your sister and you end up dragging Bucky along for the ride. Your questions lead you to Westview, a sleepy little town harboring a dark past, and a witch named Agatha Harkness. Will you find what you truly seek down, down, down the Witches' Road or will Death finally come to claim you?
Word Count: 3.4k
Author's Note: I was going to hold off on this, but I watched episode seven and I had so many feelings I literally wrote this last night. If you enjoy this and would like to see this continue, please let me know!
Read On AO3
When you jumped off the cliff at Vormir, the decision had been easy. It had been a long five years without your sister and you would have given anything for Wanda. You would also give anything for Steve, and if this brought you closer to winning the war against Thanos and bringing all the lost back, then you would do it.
A sacrifice of love was needed and you had nothing but love to give for those two. You couldn't live in a world without Steve and while he wanted to do the noble thing, you knew you would never be able to go on without him. So, you used your power one last time to push Steve far away from the edge of the cliff and then threw yourself over it.
As you fell, you could hear Steve crying out for you. You always assumed your life would flash before your eyes like everyone claimed it would. But all you saw was Vormir's sky eclipsed by Steve reaching over the cliff's edge, as if he could still reach you. And then you saw nothing at all.
You didn't remember hitting the rocks below, but the only people on your mind as death rushed to meet you were Steve and Wanda. Steve, selfless and sacrificing, and how much he yearned for his best friend, the person who truly understood him above all else, Bucky. And your sister, who had drifted away into dust and oblivion after losing the love of her life. Wanda, who had been forced to kill Vision, only to have it all be for nothing. Her grief had sent shockwaves through you and you would never forget the raw pain that had radiated off her after losing Vis. You couldn't bring Pietro back, and while his death would always weigh on your mind, you knew that you could bring Wanda back into the land of the living.
You would make it right. You had to. Even if this was your end, then at least it meant something. At least it was used to save countless others.
Death flowed endlessly around you in glimpses of life and snatches of memories, remembered and forgotten. They fell right through your grasp, never yours to begin with, but a tether to the world you longed to revisit. You fought and struggled, pulling at strands and words, willing them to materialize. You followed a lead, a road, that appeared before you and at the end, you expected to find Death.
No one will ever be tempted by the darkhold again.
I miss you. God, I miss you so much.
I got my dance. I owed her that. I owed myself that.
I can't feel you.
We can't reverse death.
You're gonna need me.
Immortality never meant anything to me before, but I suppose you’re not mine after all. Not yet, at least. Don’t say I never did you any favors.
You didn't expect to wake up.
You felt breath expand your lungs and you sat up with a gasp. You didn't know where you were or what had happened to you, but all you could think was that you failed. You had traded your life for the billions of others that had been snapped away by Thanos. If you were here, alive, then it had all been for nothing.
"Hey, hey," someone was saying, and you could feel hands on your shoulders, but you didn't want to lift your head to try to see who was attempting to talk to you. "She's freaking out here. Don't you think you should do something, Shuri?"
"And what would you have me do, Bucky? This might not even really be her. I thought her magic was blue."
"It was," someone said. Bucky, you realized. It was Bucky who had you by the shoulders. "Hey, doll," Bucky tried, bringing a finger up to tuck under your chin and force your head up.
You met Bucky's eyes, trying to make sense of what was happening. He hadn’t been wrong. You were freaking out, but it wasn’t going to do you any good now. You needed to figure out what the fuck was going on.
"Bucky?" You tried, your words coming out as a rasp. "Am I alive?"
Bucky looked like he was torn between relief and confusion. "Yeah, you're here with us." He gestured at the other two people in the room. You recognized one as King T'Challa's sister and you had already known Sam.
"How did I get here? I died on Vormir. Or...I thought I did. I don't remember dying," you told them, trying to remember what happened. Death hadn't felt like an end, more like a journey. You had felt, all the while, like you were being lead somewhere. Maybe, you couldn't help but think, it was bringing you here.
"We don't know how you got here," Sam interjected. His arms were crossed and he was wearing a new suit. It wasn't his usual Falcon getup. It was more reminiscent of Steve's, showcasing red, white, and blue with a star on the chest. The shield was strapped to his back, and you started to panic again.
"Where's Steve?" You quickly let your gaze shift from Sam to Bucky again. “Bucky, where’s Steve? Did he make it? God, I gave up everything for him and if he still died...,” you trailed off, letting the thought go unfinished. It didn’t bear thinking about.
Bucky turned to throw a look over his shoulder at Sam. You couldn't see Bucky's expression, but you could sure as hell see Sam's.
Grief. Remorse. Apology. Pain.
"No," you denied with a quick shake of your head. "I jumped so he would live. I jumped so he would get to have a life." You could feel a strange new energy thrumming along your limbs, and you didn't know how to contain it. You felt restless, an urgency rising within you that you didn't know how to quell.
"He did," Bucky assured you, finally looking at you again. You felt like his hands on you was the only thing keeping you together, so when he made to draw away, you latched onto his shirt, pulling him closer. "Okay, okay," he soothed, moving to sit on the edge of the examination you realized you were lying on.
He was treating you like a frightened animal, and you didn’t know how to feel about that. You were torn between seeking comfort in the familiarity of him and lashing out for letting you be so vulnerable. It wasn’t his fault. He was only doing what he could for you, but you were caught between anger and fear, and nothing good ever came out of that particular combination.
"Then what happened? Where is he?" You demanded, looking from Sam to Shuri and back to Bucky again.
"He...," Sam paused at another look from Bucky. "Well, she's gonna find out eventually."
"What?" You snapped, hating that everyone in the room knew something you didn't. "What happened after I jumped?"
"We defeated Thanos and the people he snapped away came back," Bucky told you, giving you the tiniest hint of a smile when your shoulders began to slump with relief. Before he started talking, his lips twisted to the side in a grimace and you knew he was about to throw you back into the deep end. "But, you've gotta realize that winning that war nearly destroyed Steve. He told me what happened on Vormir and he told me what he wanted to do."
You were briefly distracted by a shimmer in the air around Bucky. You hadn't realized it before, but the air around him seemed to faintly glow red. As he spoke, it shifted to a light blue, and you were so distracted by the sight that you missed his next words.
"You alright there, Maximoff?" Sam called, breaking you out of your fascination. The air around Sam seemed to glow just the slightest hint of green while Shuri had a purple aura around her.
"I don't know?" You answered, ducking your hand to look at your hands. You felt off, somehow. You had never really been the same, not since losing your parents at a young age and having to look out for your younger brother and sister. After being subjected to experiments by sadistic scientists and coming out the other side with superpowers, you figured you would never lead a normal life. Steve had been the closest thing you had ever gotten to a fairytale ending and now he was gone.
You felt unmoored, adrift, in this new reality and you were waiting to crash down again. You only hoped you would be given the opportunity to brace for impact when the time came.
A light danced across your fingers, your magic beginning to flare up with your frustration. You had never been anywhere on your sister's level, your magic blue where hers was red and chaotic. But you had also been able to tame a flame and throw objects around with just a thought. She would always be the more powerful of the two of you, but you had held your own well enough in a fight.
The magic that pushed up beneath your skin to pool in your palm was no longer blue, but orange.
"Huh," you breathed, no longer able to accept that you were rooted in reality. "This is the weirdest dream ever." You finally looked back up at Bucky, catching his worried expression. "You think this is what I'm seeing before I die?"
"Doll, that's what I've been trying to tell you. You did die," he stressed, tightening his grip on your shoulders. "There was never a body. Steve wanted to bring you back, but you just weren't there."
"The soul stone must have claimed her. It did require a sacrifice," Shuri observed with a thoughtful noise. "I could tell something was happening. There was just too much energy and while I thought it was your sister, it turned out to be you swirling around in the air like a ghost. I still have no idea how you corporealized and got here from Vormir, but you're living and breathing," she assured you, gesturing towards a monitor you realized was showing your heartbeat, oxygen levels, and other vitals.
There were too many worries crowding your mind and you tried to sort them out. You thought if you could just focus, then maybe something would start to make sense.
"Steve?" You tried again, not able to accept that he might be gone.
"He passed on," Sam said, his tone somber and apologetic. “Wasn’t that long ago, but I’m sorry to tell you, he’s no longer with us.”
Bucky shot him a glare, but you shook your head.
"No, tell me," you demanded, trying to force yourself to breathe. “I’m not going to get anywhere with you hiding things from me.” You wanted to scream and rage, but you weren't sure what your magic would do if you gave into the instinct. It was new, something you had to relearn, and you didn't want to hurt Bucky, Sam, or Shuri because you couldn't control it.
"He, uh, well," Bucky started with a wince. "He had to bring the stones back to their original homes. He told me before he left that he was never going to be able to save you. Your death was tied to the fate of billions and there was nothing he could do to get you back. The soul stone wouldn't return you, but the time stone could still give him a life. It could help him right some past wrongs and regrets."
Bucky stopped talking, but you didn't need him to continue. You could almost see it playing out like a movie in your mind. Steve searching for you one last time on Vormir only to be informed that you were no longer there. Steve leaving and finding Peggy. Steve finally getting his dance. Steve getting his happy ending.
Without you.
You pulled away from Bucky, your hands curling into themselves as you felt your power build up. A brilliant, blinding orange light caressed your skin and you threw your hands out to the sides, releasing everything that had been building up.
You let out a scream, throwing your head back as you attempted to claw back control from the wild impulse of your magic. It was untamed, no longer held under your will, and you felt like it would tear you apart. It was lighting you up from the inside and you were distantly aware of the smell of smoke and flame.
Someone was shouting your name, attempting to bring you back to yourself. But all you could feel was pain and the agony of losing Steve after all was almost too much for you to take.
Someone wrapped their arms around you, trapping your arms at your sides. It was enough to pull you out of your grief, the surprise of being so fully embraced while you were feeling like a bomb that had finally gone off shocked you into finally reeling your magic back in and storing it away.
Bucky had you in a tight hold, but it wasn't restricting. It was comfort and reassurance and understanding.
“You couldn’t have done that before she burned a hole through the floor?” Shuri wondered, sounding exasperated.
“Where do you keep your fire extinguisher?” Sam wondered, his voice drifting away as he searched for something to put out the fire that was still raging on the floor.
"I know," he was whispering, ignoring all the alarms you had accidentally set off. You could hear Shuri cursing and Sam rifling through a cabinet. "I know, alright? It hurts. It hurts me too," Bucky confided in you, keeping his voice low enough so only you could hear him. “But you’ve gotta keep it in right now. Just for now. And then I’ll get you someplace where you can let it all go. Once we know you’re okay,” he added after a moment.
You let your arms wrap around Bucky's waist, resting your head on his shoulder. He brought a hand up, letting it curl around the back of your neck, holding you in place. You could feel tears tracking down your cheeks, but you no longer wanted to cry. You had gotten your answer, and while it wasn't what you wanted, you couldn't begrudge Steve a happy ending. Not after everything he had given up to save the world time and again.
You absentmindedly reached a hand out, drawing on the flames and letting the fire fall into your hand. You closed your hand into a fist, letting it die.
“Neat trick you’ve got there. You couldn’t have done that sooner?” Sam asked, finally brandishing a fire extinguisher that was no longer needed.
“Perhaps we should give them a moment,” Shuri suggested to Sam. “Why don’t you come look at these readouts with me?”
“I’m not a toddler. You don’t have to distract me,” Sam grumbled, but he dutifully followed Shuri to the other side of the room, leaving you and Bucky with a small measure of privacy.
"I'm sorry," you muttered into Bucky's shoulder, letting yourself only focus on him. "I'm sorry he left you. He really loved you, you know."
"Yeah," Bucky huffed out on a humorless laugh. "He really loved you too."
You stayed like that for a while, soaking up Bucky's presence while everything fell apart around you.
"Sam's Cap now?" You checked, knowing that if Sam wielded the shield, then he had taken on the mantle. “He’s good for it.” You knew that if Steve had passed on the shield to Sam, then it was with very good reason. You had always assumed that if Steve retired, then Bucky would take on the role of Captain America, but looking at him now, Bucky just seemed tired. Maybe he didn’t so much want to play hero as he wanted to simply stop looking over his shoulder at every turn waiting for his past to resurface.
"Yeah," Bucky answered, finally pulling away enough to look at you. "You missed a lot while you were gone, you know."
"How long has it been since I died, Bucky?" Steve was gone and Sam was Captain America and Bucky seemed less constrained, but still wary. It was a monumental change, but you had a sinking feeling it was only the tip of the iceberg.
"Years." Bucky watched you in silence for a long, drawn-out moment. You heard the door open, but didn't bother to see if it was admitting someone new or if Shuri and Sam had finally had enough of pretending they weren’t eavesdropping on your conversation with Bucky. "Look, there's something I should tell you, but after how you reacted to Steve, I don't know how you're gonna take this."
"What are you--"
"I almost didn't believe it," someone interrupted, and you finally looked over to see Stephen Strange standing in the doorway. "It's miraculous is what it is," he continued, not aware of the way you tensed at his presence.
There was something dark in the air around him. It looked as if something had latched on to him and was content to be a passenger. You didn't know why you were literally seeing people in a new light, but you knew that whatever had happened with Stephen wasn't good. It was like it had left a stain on his soul.
"Stephen," you greeted with a nod of your head. "What the hell happened to you? You’re...different," you decided, watching how the inky wisps attached to his aura pulsed at your words. You couldn’t tell if it was something separate or if it was simply a part of Strange now.
Stephen's brow furrowed in confusion. He shot Bucky a look and then Sam and Shuri. "Did you--?" He let the question hang, waiting for them to answer.
"No," Shuri told him, watching you in interest. "She's changed. Her power has evolved with her death."
You swung your legs over the side of the table and let yourself stand. Bucky reached out to help you or hold you back, you weren't sure, but you waved him off. Another question had come to mind, and you instinctively knew that Stephen would have something to do with the answer you were seeking. Shuri had mentioned your sister earlier and now she was all you could think about. Why did Shuri it was your sister trying to materialize? Wasn’t Wanda alive? You would never get Steve back, and you would never want to rip away whatever peace he had stolen for himself. But Wanda would need you. Wanda always needed you. If something had happened to her in your absence, then it was your job to find her and help her.
So, you met Stephen's gaze and held your head high, not wanting to show even a hint of weakness.
"Where's my sister?" You asked, daring him to lie to you. You could see a flicker of uncertainty in his expression as you advanced on him. You could feel the tempting crackle of your power tingling along your fingers. You longed to see Wanda, knowing that she would be the only thing keeping you from truly falling apart. Your sacrifice had cost you more than your life. It had cost you Steve. And you would be damned if it also cost you your sister.
You felt like your soul was reaching out to her, your entire being aching to pull her back into your orbit, but there was a strange emptiness inside you. It was like she was drifting further away from you by the second.
Stephen met your gaze, never letting it stray. "What do you know about the darkhold?" Stephen finally responded after what felt like an eternity waiting for any news about what had happened to your sister.
It wasn't what you wanted to hear and you couldn't help but lash out with your magic. It had been coiled, ready to strike, and who were you to deny it when you finally had a worthy target?
You had expected to simply push him with your power. It had been a familiar defensive response before your death, but now your magic seemed to take hold of the reigns. It curled out away from you and wrapped around his throat. You could hear his breath cut off and Bucky was calling your name, but you didn't care.
There was only one thing you cared about at the moment and Stephen Strange seemed to hold all the answers.
So, you decided to give him one more chance and posed the question that had overtaken your mind.

Part 2
Main Masterlist Steve Rogers Masterlist
Steven Grant Rogers also known as the hero Captain America. Fought against Hydra and their leader Red Skull, his brainwashed best friend, Ultron, his own team and even Thanos. You would think that Americas golden boy is unstoppable, that nothing can stop him.
You’re wrong.
See, Steve has years of experience in fighting due to the fact that he’s over a hundred years old and fought in World War Two. The only thing he doesn’t know about, or to be more specific, doesn’t have any experience with, is the opposite sex. Steve has never been on a date or had a real first kiss. Ok, yeah, he kissed Peggy and Natasha once, but that meant nothing. God, he’s still a virgin.
To sum it up, Steve is an awkward bean around women. He doesn’t always show it obviously, but ask him something not work related with a flirty smile, and he starts to sweats like a polar bear in the desert.
Steve always thought that he was going to be able to talk to ‘the girl’ once he saw her, that he will have no problem to communicate with her.
He thought wrong.
Steve is in the training room, punching the punching bag until it falls off again. He was supposed to be training with Sam, but he hasn’t shown up. So far, Sam always showed up or at least texted him if something came in between and he couldn’t make it. Steve stops hitting the punching bag and goes over to the bench where his phone is laying. He picks it up and swipes it open, seeing that he didn’t receive any text message from Sam.
It’s not normal for Sam to be late, so Steve decides that he’s going to look for Sam. He puts his phone in his pocket and walks out of the gym, in the direction of the living area.
As he walks down the hallway Bucky crosses his path, “Hey pal, have you seen Sam”, Steve asks.
“No, but I can imagine he’s talking to the new recruits, telling them something about teamwork makes the dream work, or some other shit”, Bucky says, mimicking Sam’s voice.
Steve’s brows furrow; what new recruits? Steve heard nothing about new recruits. “I don’t know anything about new recruits?”
“Transferred from a SHIELD base in Germany, I think. Sam will probably force us to introduce us to them”, Bucky says. Steve knows that it’s hard for Bucky to talk or communicate with new and many people at once, but he knows that he’s trying his best. Since he began going to therapy, his old self made more and more of an appearance, and Bucky feels a lot better in general even though it’s hard sometimes. He’s proud of Bucky. He’s trying his best.
“Better we do it now than later. Come on, Buck”, Steve says, patting his shoulder, and pulling him with him.
Bucky lets out a chuckle, “Ok”.
Both super soldiers walk towards the meeting rooms, thinking they might be there when Bucky suddenly stops walking. Steve looks at Bucky, silently questioning why he stopped. Bucky reads Steve’s facial expression before pointing towards the end of the hallway, “found him”.
Steve follows Buckys finger and sees Sam. Sam is not alone, he’s with a woman. A beautiful woman. A goddess.
Bucky sees Steve’s face heating up. “You good, pal?” he asks with a teasing voice. Steve doesn’t answer him, to lost in the woman’s beauty next to Sam. Bucky snaps his fingers in front of Steve’s face, trying to get him back to reality, but it doesn’t work.
Lost in thoughts, or to be more specific the woman, Steve doesn’t see how Sam noticed them too, and is calling them over.
“Steve!”
Steve comes back to reality when Sam calls him for the third time. Bucky laughs at Steve’s confused puppy stare, looking like he just woke up from a coma without any knowledge of what happened before. It gets worse as they see how Sam and the woman are now walking towards them. Bucky feels Steve panicking next to him. “Hey Steve, calm down, ok?” Bucky whispers to him.
“Mhm”, Steve answers, not being able to form any words. Sam and the Woman getting closer and closer to them.
“Remember, we just introduce ourselves” Bucky tries to calm him down, his own anxiety leaving and instead focusing on helping his friend, “You can do this. Just remember to think and talk at the same time, and don’t just stare at her”. If his friend wasn’t looking like a dead fish Bucky would’ve really enjoyed this moment. Him helping his friend talk to a woman like he did back in the 40s, but nothing about Steve’s current problem is funny. Well, maybe the fact that he for real looks like a dead fish.
“Ok” Steve says.
“Ok”
“Ok”
“You can do this, Steve”
“Ok”
And the woman gets closer and closer.
Steve begins to murmur what he wants to say, making Bucky look nervously at him.
The woman and Sam are now almost completely by them as Steve suddenly says, “I need to finish the mission report”, before sprinting the other direction.
“Hey, why did Steve-“ Sam can’t finish because Bucky is already sprinting after Steve, leaving him and the woman utterly confused. “BUCKY!”
Sam puts his hands on his hips, “normally they are not like this, ok? They probably just remembered to take their anti-aging cream”. He turns to you, “Super soldiers, you know”.
You smile as Sam claps your shoulders and says, “how about I show you the training room?”. You nod, letting him lead you to the training room.
Meanwhile, Steve is sprinting towards his room, looking like a gazelle who’s running away from a predator. Steve thought he could talk to her, but no.
Once he reaches his room, he locks the door, and then just stands there, staring at the locked door; what just happened? He begins to hyperventilate like how his pre serum self did when he had an asthma attack. The room feels like it’s shrinking. Steve feels small and scared. Just the sight of the woman made him with a snap of a finger feel like his weak 40s self before the serum. Back when no one liked him.
While Steve is having a panic attack, Bucky is running towards Steve’s room. Bucky started running after him some seconds after he sprinted away, and normally Bucky would’ve caught up to him, but Steve’s panic and the super soldier serum made it a bit difficult. Luckily, Bucky knows Steve like no one else and knows that he’s hiding in his room.
“Steve?” Bucky asks, knocking on the door. “You good, pal? Can I come in?”. He waits, but no answer comes, so he tries opening the door but it’s locked.
Bucky sighs, “Steve, let me in”.
On the other side, Steve is debating if he should let his best friend in. His debating goes too long for Bucky though because the next thing Steve hears is Bucky saying ‘Friday unlock the door’, and the door opens.
Bucky walks in, seeing a teared eyed Steve who’s breathing fast and heavy. Bucky strikes over to him and pulls him slowly down to the floor, sitting face to face with each other. He takes his hand and puts it on his heart, “Steve, hey. Focus on me. Focus on my heartbeat. You feel mine?” Bucky says, putting his other hand on Steve’s heart, feeling how his heart is still beating fast. “Steve, focus on my heartbeat”.
Steve looks at his friend and tries to focus on his heart. He closes his eyes, only trying to listen to Bucky’s heartbeat. “Yeah, I feel it”.
Bucky gives him a smile, “ok, good”.
They sit in silent for a few minutes, Steve’s heart beating now slower and his breaths coming out normally.
Bucky waits until Steve’s heartbeat is fully back to normal before asking “better?”.
Steve nods, “I didn’t think we would have had to use that method on me”, he says chuckling.
This calming method showed Bucky’s therapist, Steve. She told him that it would help Bucky calm down when he’s having a panic attack, and it did in fact help. The night after she explained it to him, Bucky woke up from a nightmare and started to panic. Steve’s room is right next to him, so he heard his friend’s panic. He tried the method that night and it worked perfectly. It took some while until Bucky calmed down, but it was way faster than without the method, and Bucky was able to fall asleep again after.
To other people, this method may look a bit weird, but it calms his best friend down, so who cares? It’s also no surprise that Steve is the only one allowed to do this method. Sam once tried it and Bucky punched him in his face when he put his hand on his chest. Sam left the room angrily and annoyed with a broken bloody nose. Bucky punched him with his metal arm. He thought Sam was in danger that second and in a state of danger he uses his metal arm. Bucky apologized to Sam though, and he truly felt bad and sorry. Sam instantly forgave him though, he knows it wasn’t his intention.
At least not in that situation.
Bucky even ‘baked’ Sam some brownies. Well, more like bought some Brownies and said he baked them. Sam knew he didn’t, but said nothing and just enjoyed eating some good, tasteless brownies with a smile on his face.
“Well, we didn’t think you would ever run away from a girl”.
Steve sighs, “Yeah. Back then, they would run away from me. Now it’s me running away”
“Why did you?”
Steve shakes his head. “I don’t know. I got scared I guess?”.
When Steve looks at Bucky again, he comes to face with a blank stare. It kinda reminds him of Bucky’s winter soldier stare. If they weren’t having an emotional and serious conversation, Steve would’ve been actually concerned that something happened that made Bucky go into Winter Soldier mindset.
Bucky scares Steve when he suddenly jumps up, “You know what” he pulls Steve up, almost making him fall over “You will have that girl”.
“Huh?” he asks, confused.
“Or just someone”.
He doesn’t like the thought of Bucky helping him. Bucky was a true player back then, a gentleman, but a player.
“I help you talk to women. I can do that. I did that a hundred years ago” he stops when he realizes “fucking hell, that’s a long time ago”.
Steve scowls, “Language, Buck”.
“Sorry”.
“I get that you’re trying to help me, and I appreciate that” Steve takes a deep breath before continuing, “but I can’t”
“Why?” Bucky asks crossing his arms, standing like an angry parent.
“I just can’t, ok? Also, colleges are not allowed to be in a romantic relationship”.
“Then look for someone else. There’s this woman named Leah. She works at my favorite sushi place and I heard-“
“I don’t want someone else!”
Bucky raises an eyebrow, a teasing grin on his face. “Ohhhh, so you want her. Ok, Steven. I see you”. He winks at Steve as he groans.
“I didn’t say that. I just-ugh, I like her, but-there’s not gonna be anything between us” he tries to give his best friend a reassuring smile, but knowingly fails. “You can ask Leah out”, Steve tries changing the topic.
“No, she’s not my type”.
Bucky knows that Steve won’t stop having a crush on the new recruit. It took Steve a hundred years to get over Peggy. He was still in love with her even after being unfrozen. Now imagine he’s thinking about the new recruit until he dies. Bucky doesn’t want that. God, he was honestly happy when Peggy passed. That woman was like a snake slithering her way into his friends heart only to poison it. He didn’t like her from the second she interrupted Steve and his conversation. Dumb Bitch.
He wants his friend to be happy. He wants to be an uncle. He hopes Steve will get himself together and talk to her.
“Ok. Whatever you say”, Bucky says, patting him on his shoulder. They continue talking, but this time about what movie they are going to watch for their ‘we need to learn about cinematic history’ movie night. While talking, Bucky’s mind continues to wander back to their original conversation, and about the fact that Steve doesn’t want some dating teaching from him. In all honesty, he’s slightly hurt by that.
He could still help him somehow, though.
It’s been a week now since he saw the new recruit and he’s been trying to avoid any situation that could lead to him seeing her. Steve knows it sounds silly, but he’s scared of her. Scared of seeing her. Scared of her seeing him. He hasn’t been training for a week. Steve knows the chances are high that she will be there. The only sort of trying he did this week was going for a run. Alone.
Sam noticed a change in Steve. Everybody did. Steve was never a huge extrovert and now he’s such an introvert. He doesn’t even eat with them anymore because she could be there, or just walk past them eating.
Today he needs to be brave, though. Bucky asked him to train together because he’s the only good match for him. Bucky told him that winning against Sam slowly starts to get boring, and that Steve needs to train again. Cardio is good, but Steve needs to do more.
After trying to convince Bucky that they can also train outside or anywhere else than the training room, he knew from Bucky’s reaction that it’s not gonna happen. So now he’s on his way to meet Bucky in the training room.
To say Steve is nervous is an understatement, he’s almost shitting his pants.
Bucky assured him they would have the room for themselves and Steve just hopes that that’s true.
Steve walks into the gym and surprisingly sees no one. No Bucky. Steve was already late because he was nervous, so it confuses him why Bucky isn’t here. He looks at the clock on the wall and sees that he’s sixteen minutes late, meaning Bucky is to late too.
“Maybe he’s still asleep”, Steve tells himself. Technically, he would be happy that Bucky is able to sleep, but it’s the first time since a week that he’s training and last time, Sam already didn’t come.
He is just about to go to Bucky’s room when he hears a soft voice.
“Well, it’s only seven in the morning”.
Steve turns around and freezes.
It’s the woman
Oh, no no no no no
“Every normal person would be asleep at this time”.
Steve is unable to speak, he’s just staring at her. Not even blinking, just staring.
She looks at him with a smile, waiting for an answer, or just something.
When Steve realizes that she’s waiting for an answer, he clears his throat. “Yeah, uhm-I uh, I mean he likes to sleep-uh- he can’t sleep that much and-uhm yeah. He normally only uhm-sleeps with me- Wait not like that-uh I mean, he just likes to sleep with me-no. He uhm, he sleeps better with-me-uhm because I’m a good sleep partner- no, I just-uhm. IM NOT GAY”.
Steve looks at her with wide eyes. He knows he just made a fool of himself, so he tries to save himself.
Tries.
“There’s obviously nothing wrong with liking-uhm men, but I’m not like that. Yeah, uhm I hate men- wait not hate men, I like them, but platonic like ha ha. I like woman. But I’m not a relationship-I uhm”, he doesn’t want to look like he is desperate for a relationship. She could think that he’s trying to ‘hit on her’. He believes that what it’s called, but you can never trust Tony. “I’m not into relationship- uhm, the romantic, uh, kind-just the other kind”
Now she looks at him with wide eyes. The only other non-relationship kind she can think of is the sexual one. She can’t believe that Captain Rogers, the golden boy, is such a man. The worst part is that Steve doesn’t understand what he just said and instead looks at her with a nervous smile. Poor boy thought it sounded more like normal relationship, platonic kind. It didn’t, though.
“You do you, I guess” she says, feeling incredibly uncomfortable. She didn’t think her first time meeting Captain America would be like this.
Steve sees that she’s not comfortable or at least confused by what he’s saying. Maybe she doesn’t like his answer.
So he continues to try to fix this conversation.
“I uhm I would like a relationship-with someone-uh I want to-“ he can’t say dancing, that sounds boring. He needs to come up with something that everyone does these days. Something that she would probably like “do Netflix and chill”.
Steve needs to get better at telling when he can trust Tony and when not.
“Oh, uhm” she doesn’t know what to say “that’s nice I guess”.
Right now, Steve would rather fight against HYDRA than talk to her. He can feel how he’s sweating. And if that already isn’t bad enough, he starts to really look at her. Oh boy.
She’s wearing tight black leggings with a matching black sport bra. She must’ve been already training for a while because he sees some drops of sweat on her chest area, running to her cleavage. Steve is directly looking at her cleavage, not taking his eyes off it.
He doesn’t notice that he’s looking at it, well, that he’s so obviously looking at it.
She puts her left hand on her right shoulder, acting like she’s massaging it, and not like she’s trying to cover her chest.
Steve’s eyes move to hers, and it only takes three seconds until realization hits him.
“Shit!” he screams, making her jump “oh, I’m sorry I didn’t want to scare you-I uhm, and I didn’t want to stare at your you know-chest. Not because they are not pretty, they are-NO Uhmmm, they uh. It’s just”.
Steve stops talking when the door opens and Bucky walks in with a smile on his face “Language, Steve. Good morning you two”. At least someone is having one.
“Morning”, she says, smiling at his best friend before walking away to lift some weight. Deep down they are both happy that Bucky saved them from the awkward situation, though, Steve is also sad because he wanted to talk to her, to have a chance, but he failed.
Bucky smiles after her, then turns to Steve. “Hey Steve, how are you?”
“You knew, didn’t you” Steve almost spats, his voice echoing throughout the training room. He turns around and sees how she is looking at them.
He quickly turns back around, facing Bucky, who just gives him an innocent smile. “What do you mean Steve?”. Bucky knows that Steve can’t say anything about that, due to the fact that she can hear everything they are saying.
Steve glares at him, grinding his teeth. “That you would be late”, he lies.
“Yeah”.
Steve wants to scream, but he can’t “why didn’t you tell me?” he asks, his veins showing.
“I texted you, Punk”, Bucky says as he walks over to get a punching bag.
Steve frowns; Bucky didn’t text him. He pulls out his phone.
Love❤️🔥- I’ll be a bit late
Send one minute ago
Steve cringes as he sees the name Tony and Sam saved Bucky on his phone. He would rather want Punk with that heart. Platonic style. He doesn’t know how to change it, though.
“Didn’t you see my message?” Bucky gives him a fake questioning expression. A teasing one.
“I must have missed it”, Steve says in a monotone voice “I mean it says you send it a minute ago. Bucky”.
“Oh, you know. The signal is quite bad here”
Steve closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “Yeah, Bucky. You would’ve thought that Tony would’ve already handled it”.
Bucky snickers “Yeah”.
“Yeah”.
Bucky walks with the bag over his shoulder towards a hook to hang the bag on. He turns to look at Steve, a grin on his face when his eyes move to look behind Steve.
“Hey, how about you help her, Steve~”, Bucky says loudly.
Steve follows his eyes and sees how the recruit is struggling with moving some weights out of her way, so she can put the bench there to do some bench presses.
She looks at them and gives them a shy smile. “That would be kinda nice”.
Steve looks back at Bucky, panic in his eyes. Bucky gives him a big smile that says ‘yes’.
It’s time, it’s time to shine, Steve. He can do that, he can easily lift that.
‘Ok, Steve. Pull your ass cheeks together and help her’ he thinks to himself as he walks towards her. He stops in front of her, getting lost in her eyes for a second. This time he snaps back quickly though and moves the weights away.
“Thank you, Captain Rogers”, she says, his back still towards her.
“Mhm” he can’t bring out a single word. Instead of turning back to her, he sorts the weights, so she doesn’t see him blushing. “You-You’re welcome”.
He hears her getting on the bench and takes that as his cue to leave.
“Hey, Steve!”
Please, don’t Bucky.
“You should help her. Stay behind her to make sure that her arms don’t give in”
Steve doesn’t turn around this time. He can hear how she doesn’t lift any weight, meaning she is looking at them.
“Yeah, I uhm would, but- mission reports. I need to finish the mission report”, Steve lies “important stuff you know. Not like helping her isn’t important, but yeah. Avenger stuff is important….”.
It’s that second that Bucky realizes that Steve is the worst person in admitting his crush he ever met. The best friend he is, he needs to help him. “Oh, I already did them for you”.
Great, now Steve’s lie is a lie. Thank you, Bucky.
“No, I don’t think you did”, he tries to save himself “They were on my desk this morning, unfinished”
Good job, Steve.
“I did them this morning. We were on the same mission, Steve. Only one of us needs to do them” Bucky says, punching the bag “I send you a message”.
“No, you didn’t-“ he looks at his phone to see a message from Bucky.
Love❤️🔥-already did the mission report.
Send a minute ago.
Bucky knows Steve like the back of his hand. He knew what excuses he would use to try to flee the scene. A laugh almost leaves his mouth as he sees the face Steve is making. God, he missed teasing him.
“I thought you were asleep”.
“No, I wanted to finish it. You’ve been quite stressed the past week, and I wanted to lift some weight of your shoulders”.
“Thanks, James”.
The tension between them is noticeable. So noticeable that the recruit is more uncomfortable than when she was alone with Steve.
She gets their attention when she walks past them to grab her water bottle. “Have fun training”
“You already leaving?” Steve asks disappointed, sad that she’s leaving.
“Yeah, I’ve already been training before you both came. Also, I need to find Sam. He promised to show me the rest of the compound. I only saw half of the facility so far and don’t want to get lost at some point”, she says. So far she didn’t get lost because the most important areas were already introduced to her, but it’s better to know the whole compound. “Bye” she waves them before opening the door and walking through it.
No one says anything until the door closes. Bucky is the first to break the silence, “wow”.
“I know you did that on purpose!”
“I was trying to make you talk to her” he grabs his shoulder “I just want to help you. She’s a beautiful woman-“
“Hey!”
“See” Bucky says, “you’re jealous when I just say that she’s pretty. You have a crush on that girl, Steve”.
Steve sighs in defeat. “Ok, maybe”.
“I KNEW IT” Bucky screams, jumping like a little kid on Christmas morning “FUCK YES, STEVE”
“Language”
He stops jumping and looks at him. “You will get that girl. I promise” Bucky looks like he’s about to cry “oh my god, you’re all grown up”.
Steve lets out a slight laugh. It’s almost ridiculous how happy Bucky is that there’s a girl that he kinda likes. It reminds him of how they talked about their futures when they were little. They talked about carriers and family, and how they will be called uncle Steve and uncle Bucky by their best friends kids.
“Are you crying?” he asks, seeing Bucky wipe his eye.
“Pfff, no”.
Oh, he’s definitely crying.
“Calm down, Bucky. Just because I like her doesn’t mean that she likes me”.
“Yeah, because you’re just an Avenger, the symbol of America, a super soldier, owner of America’s ass-“
“Ok, I get it”. Steve isn’t dumb, he knows that people know him, that he’s quite famous; god he sounds like Tony. All this doesn’t make him the most liked person in the world, though, and not everyone fall for him. Not just because he has blond hair and some women like dark hair, or he is to old schooled and doesn’t know every new show on Netflix, or women are not into him because they hate male genitals and prefer women’s….parts. The shield only shows what he shows the world and not the people he cares about. He doesn’t show his emotional side with all his flaws.
“You like her, right” Bucky asks, knowing the answer.
“Yes, of course, but-“
“Then you will go to her and tell her that”. Bucky claps his hands. “You will tell her how much you like her. You will take her dancing and to the movies. Understand?”
“Yes, Sargent” Steve smiles.
“I know she’s the one. You will propose to her at sunset and give me some nephews and nieces”. Steve laughs at Bucky’s hyper fixation about his crush. Both of them are acting like two teenage girls.
“A uncle to Steve Jr’s and….uhm…what’s her name again”
“……”
“………..”
“……………”
“………you don’t know her name?”
“no, not really”. Well, that’s awkward.
“Oh my god, Steve”, Bucky is regretting his decision to help his friend “how about we start with you introducing yourself?”
“Bucky, please don’t do anything stupid”, Steve pleads. He doesn’t want Bucky to give him to much pressure. The thought of Bucky trapping them in a closet scares him, or him basically throwing him against her.
Bucky just looks at him confused. “You will do something stupid. I’m here to prevent that from happening”.
“Promise?”
“Promise” Bucky says showing Steve his hands “I swear on Sam’s life”.
Steve smile slowly falls and Bucky corrects himself “ok, I swear on uhm, your life”.
“I guess that’s ok”
Since then Bucky’s been on the mission ‘get a sister-in-law’, with no luck though. He thought being a wingman would be easier, but it’s not. Definitely not. Or he has just a bad person that he needs to help.
So far Steve had like four times eye contact, spoke two sentences in two conversations. The one sentence only being two words.
The best try so far was when Steve was in the kitchen, reading the newspaper, when she came and asked him if he could move a bit so she can get to the fridge, and Steve said ‘yes’. He said something, made eye contact, didn’t walk away and didn’t stutter. He didn’t even sweat! Steve did this on his own without him and for that he needs an applause.
And the worst try was when he was ‘forced’ to train with her.
“You can do this Steve”, Bucky whispers to Steve before giving him a pat on the shoulder and pushing him towards the mat.
Steve still hasn’t introduced himself yet, so Bucky thought it would be a good opportunity to see the skills of the new recruits and to train with them. Surprisingly, Steve is now sparring against his crush, the woman they still don’t know the name of.
Steve walks on the mat, giving a quick look over his shoulder to see Bucky giving him a thumbs up.
He takes a deep breath before saying, “Ok, come at me”.
To say he’s impressed is an understatement. He’s fascinated by her skills, by the way she moves with such grace. Instead of directly coming at him and trying to punch him, she moves around him. She does that the whole time, dodging every single move of him while he tries to land a hit on her, well, more like pinch her. He wouldn’t hurt her. Ever.
At some point Steve finally manages to get a hold of her, but she is quicker and kicks his one leg away and then uses his arms to lift her up and wrap her legs around his neck, bringing him down. Steve is now on the mat with her legs around his neck, her directly hovering over his face. Steve doesn’t know why, but he’s not complaining about this position.
He gets himself back together and uses his legs to his lower back of the mat and makes a roll, so now she’s on the mat, with him in between her legs.
Steve can be lucky that most of the recruits are already doing their own thing because this is not a professional normal work position. Sam, who just walked in, stopped next to Bucky when he sees the scene. He looks at Bucky and sees how he’s directly looking at where Steve’s face is.
“Stop doing your creepy eye thing”, Sam tells him, but Bucky simply ignores him. Sam is about to say something when he hears a loud slam, and sees her on top of Steve, straddling his hips “oh”.
This scene doesn’t last long though because Steve flips them around, now straddling her hips and pinning her arms above her head. She tries to move around under him, successfully. Her back towards and is about to use her knees to make him fall off. Steve thinks quicker though and flips them again. Her back against his chest and his back against the floor. He wraps his legs around each of her legs, making her unable to move them, while he wraps his arms around her neck, taking her in a headlock. She tries to wiggle away, but can’t.
She taps his arm, signaling him that he won. Steve lets her go, softly lifting her arm to help her up, and then getting up after her.
“Everything ok?” he asks, wanting to make sure that he didn’t hurt her in some kind. That would definitely make admitting his feelings harder.
“Yes”, she smiles at him, panting slightly, “thank you, Captain Rogers, for training with me”. The smile she gives him is a true, generous smile. Steve doesn’t see how Sam and Bucky are exchanging scared looks.
“Y-You don’t need to tank me”, Steve says. Now it’s the time to introduce himself; he can do it. He takes a deep breath before continuing. “And you can call me S-“
He gets pulled away by Bucky, forcefully getting pushed against his chest. Steve looks Bucky confused into his eyes as Bucky pulls him with him behind the corner, out of sight of her, with Sam walking next to them. All the way to behind the corner Bucky keeps Steve against him, while Sam blogs other from seeing Steve’s side.
“What are you doing? I was just about to introduce myself”
Sam looks at him with wide eyes. “Yeah, something else was also about to introduce himself” and points to Steve’s crotch.
Steve looks down and sees what Sam is talking about.
For the first time, the golden boy is having a boner. A huge one. The serum really did make everything bigger.
“Oh, no no no no” Steve goes.
“Hey, it’s ok” Bucky tries calming him down “it’s uhm normal”
“Yeah, you know how many boners I had in my life”, Sam continues.
“See, even Sam thinks so. Did you ever notice how often I had when we were out with some girls, or just when I was thinking about one”, Bucky continues, Sam nodding his head the whole time. Both giving Steve a smirk. “You have them everywhere. In the shower, during work, in bed, I even had them when we had a sleepover”.
“Oh my god” Steve hates talking about that. He doesn’t know what’s worst, talking about women things or about men and their boners. “I had it in front of her, in front of everyone” he cries out.
Sam pats his shoulder. “No one saw it”
“You did!”.
“Because we watched both of you”, Sam assures him. “The others did their own thing, and she looked in your eyes, man. Not what’s below Captain America’s waist”
“Maybe she felt it though”, Bucky says.
“Bucky!”
“Your not helping, man”, Sam shrugs and looks down “ok, maybe she did because you know, it’s not small”
“See, Wilson! You agree”
Steve had never been this embarrassed in his entire life. He covers his erection with his hands, but it only makes it more obvious. He’s trying to cover his boner while his two best friends are talking about his penis size and how often they get a boner. He wants to dig himself a grave.
“Guys!” Steve whisper screams, getting their attention back. “I need to get rid of it”.
“Of your giant boner?”
“Yeas, Sam. What else is there to get rid of?” Steve says. Bucky slaps Sam on the back of his head, with no context at all. “What was that for, Bucky?”
He shrugs “I know you would like to do that, but are too nice to actually do it”. Steve just wanted to have a nice day where he maybe finally managed to speak to the woman of his dreams, but no, everything had to go like shit. “What do I do?”.
Sam and Bucky look at each other before letting out an obvious loud breath of air. They turn to Steve. “Well, you could try to calm down” Sam says, and Bucky continues “or you could, you know, help yourself out”.
“No!” Steve doesn’t even want to imagine helping himself out. The simple thought disgusts him and he feels an incredible feeling of shame.
Steve shakes his head at them. “Tell me something, that helps uhm, the problem”.
“Remember when your mom caught us looking through her drawers and spanked you”.
“….”
“….”
“….”
“Are you getting harder?” Sam asks, looking at his now slightly bigger boner.
“N-no” Steve pushes with all might on his boner to get it down “s-say something else”. He begs his friends for help.
Bucky looks hopeless “I don’t know what to say to get her off of your mind”. Steve wants to say something when Sam holds up his hands.
“Hold up, her off of your mind” he says looking at Steve, “so it wasn’t just because you got a bit close to her”. The smirk on his face is huge, a teasing one.
Steve groans out of frustration and pain.
“You know, I could see you together”, Sam goes, giving him a thump up.
“I know, but he’s too afraid to ask her. He couldn’t even introduce himself”.
“You didn’t introduce yourself to y/n?”
Steve looks at him and repeats her name softly. Y/n. Your name sound like an angel, a page out of the Bible that you worship and say as a pray. He would do that. Say your name like it’s a holy prayer. He wants to say your name again again and again. Whispering your name in your ear as you slowly share a kiss.
“Shit” Bucky says. He thought that Steve’s boner couldn’t get any bigger, but he was wrong. So wrong. It’s now almost twice as big as before. “Sam, why did you say that?!”
“I didn’t know this was going to happen! I just said her name. I didn’t think he would get hard because of a name”.
“Well, he did!”
They hear people coming into the training room. A lot by the sound of their talking. At least fifteen entered the room. Now you add them three, plus y/n and plus the seven recruits that were already in here. That makes twenty-six people. Two, Sam and Bucky, already saw Steve’s boner.
“Guys!” Steve screams “what do I do?!”, hiding more in the corner.
“Obviously getting her out of your head doesn’t work”.
“How about you stay in front of me while I walk out”.
Both shake their head “they would see you though and stare at you. Also, there are too many. You wouldn’t make it out unnoticed”.
“What if I wait until they leave”.
“Steve, they will eventually walk to this corner when they get more weights, and then see you”
Steve looks hopeless. “Bring me some pants that- I don’t know, doesn’t show my you know”.
“Steve…nothing can hide that boner”, Sam says “there is only one option”.
“What?”
“you could…help yourself out, Steve”
“No”
“Steve, please”
“No”
“Pal, listen-“
“No, Bucky. I can’t do that. I can’t just touch my…member…and..bring myself pleasure”, Steve hates talking about it. “How am I even suppose to do it?!”
“You take your dick in your hand and hold it tight, then you start to move your hand up and down. Personally, I would advise you to do it fast but-“
“I meant where!” he covers his ears trying to forget what Bucky just said. Though he learned something new. “I can’t just do it here, it would..spill”
Sam looks around until he sees something that could help “take this to collect your sperms”. He shows Steve an empty probably by someone forgotten water bottle.
“But-“ Steve knows that this is the only way and that he should accept it, but he doesn’t want to “fine”.
“I wait around the corner so no one walks over here, while Bucky makes sure you don’t get a heart attack” Sam says, winking before walking around the corner. Bucky gives Steve a slight smile before turning around. He doesn’t need to see his best friend Masturbate.
Surprisingly, Steve isn’t that loud. Sam only heard him once or twice a bit louder. One time he was screaming Bucky’s name because he turned around for a second.
Sam walks over to them when Bucky gives him a thump up. Steve is sitting on the floor, panting heavenly. Next to him, a completely full to the top water bottle. Or more like cum bottle.
“Congratulations on your first orgasm, Steve”
They are on their way out now, happy that Steve doesn’t have a big gun in his pants anymore.
“Hey, Sam”
Fuck
“Hey, Y/n” Sam smiles, while Steve panics. He’s drenched in sweat and is holding a bottle of his own cum.
You smile at Bucky and Steve too. You look at Steve and see how he looks like he’s in pain and completely drenched. “Are you ok, Captain Rogers?”.
Bucky and Sam quickly cover him up. “Oh yeah, he’s fine, he just-“
“Is hungry!”
“Uhm yeah and you know how you can get sick when you didn’t eat”
“Yeah ya get really sick”
You stare at them for a second, trying to process what they said. “Oh, maybe you should drink your shake then, Captain Rogers”, and point to his ‘shake’, and give him a smile.
“I-“
Bucky stops Steve. “Yeah no, he will just get something from the kitchen, you know?”.
“Bucky’s right, uhm I don’t think that would be such a smart idea to drink the shake. Hah ha” Steve says awkwardly.
Your smile falls. “Oh, yeah sure. I just thought that would help. We don’t want you passing out”.
Was his answer mean, is what Steve thinks. He doesn’t want you to think he just didn’t drink the ‘shake’ because you said that. Steves heart pains as he sees your reaction; you looked so sad. It obviously isn’t that big of a deal. Surely you forget about it later, but what if you don’t? You don’t forget that he didn’t want to drink the ‘shake’. What if you think you’re dumb for asking that? He thinks for a second, a long second, a second that will change everything.
“You’re right”, and opens the cap.

All parts: part 1, part 2, part 3
Y/N was given to Maria Hill, a close friend of Natasha Romanoff, to care for while her mothers fought Thanos with the rest of the Avengers. It’s already been hours without any kind of notice on what’s going on, which made her incredibly nervous. But this was her mothers’ job, she was used to it.
“They’ll be alright, they always are.” Maria states as she notices Y/N tearing away the skin around her nails, blood already gathering to the wounds. “Not even Thanos can beat them.” She gives her a comforting smile, sitting next to her.
Y/N hums with a nod. “I know, Aunt Maria.” She mumbles. Her mothers have always come back home, just like they promise when they leave through the door. This time wouldn’t be any different. They wouldn’t dare to break such a big promise.
“You should eat something. I could order us a pizza and we could watch a movie to take your mind off of it all?”
“Sure.” Y/N appreciates the way Maria tries to comfort her. She doesn’t usually watch over her, as most of the time she’s working with the Avengers, but this time Natasha personally asked her to stay with Y/N. Maria was only one she trusted to do anything in her power to protect their daughter.
Looking through movies, Y/N decides on Frozen. A childhood favorite of hers, a movie her moms had to sit through just a few too many times, though they never complained. She leans against the couch, waiting for Maria to come back so they could start the movie while waiting for food.
Something drops to the floor.
Y/N turns to look towards the kitchen where Maria was just standing in, but is now completely empty. “Maria?” She calls out. Frowning, she stands up and walks over. “Where’d you go?” Her foot accidentally kicks something under the fridge. She groans and kneels down, moving her hand around to find whatever slid there. Finally grabbing the object, she pulls it out and stands up. It’s Maria’s phone.
The phone call is still on going. Quiet hellos coming through from the other side, until the pizzeria hangs up. Gripping the phone in her hand, she starts going through the rooms of the apartment, looking for aunt Maria. She doesn’t understand where she could’ve went so quickly, especially without her phone.
Her breathing picks up and heart starts beating faster when she realizes Maria isn’t there anymore. Before she can fully comprehend the situation, loud crashing comes from outside.
Running to the window, Y/N opens the blinds and sees pure chaos. Cars crashing into each other, a helicopter falling down, people screaming and running and..disappearing into dust. A deep pit grows inside Y/N as she stares at the scene unfolding in front of her. Her moms, she can feel this’ll be the first time they break their promise.
The hallway is loud as multiple students laugh and talk over each other. Everyone is walking towards their next class, through not all of them are in a hurry to do so. Some of them sneak off to the toilets or hidden parts of the stair well together, while others just walk out of the university building, simply not bothered to be there. Y/N is one of those people.
Her hands are in the pocket of her jacket and the hood of her hoodie is pulled over her head. She’s trying to be as small and invisible as possible. And she has been, invisible, for the past five years. She doesn’t have friends, only some people she can barely call acquaintances, nor does she have any family left.
No one really knows where the blipped people are. People got tired of trying to figure it out after three years. Y/N lost hope of getting her moms back two years before that. She knew she had to get used to being alone, and that she did.
She finished high school and got into college, barely, but her education was always important to her moms, and she couldn’t bear the feeling of disappointing them, even if they weren’t with her.
With a grunt, Y/N pushes her door open with force, cursing at the poor condition of it. Her apartment is in bad shape, but it’s cheap, so she has to live with it. Slamming the door shut, she throws her keys to a bowl and slumps down to the couch. Closing her eyes, she leans her head against the back of it after putting the television on to fill the never ending thoughts running through her head.
The television is playing old reruns of How I Met Your Mother, which makes Y/N laugh bitterly. She used to watch it with Wanda, who desperately wanted her to share the love of sitcoms with her. She just never found them that funny. Now she wishes she did. She wishes she could laugh at them like her mother did.
She blindly switches the channel. There’s no use in pretending to like sitcoms now.
The apartment gets filled with sounds from an action movie. Her body relaxes as she takes a deep breath. However, loud knocking from the other side of the door jolts her body back up. Her face turns into a frown as she stands up to go to the door, nobody comes to see her.
Y/N opens the door, her eyes widening the moment she recognizes who is standing in front of her.
“Y/N?” Wanda whispers, eyes full of tears and hands covering her mouth. Her little girl is all grown up. They missed so much. She takes a step forward, but Y/N instantly takes a step back. The hurt is evident on her face.
“You’re back.” She mumbles.
“We’re back.” Natasha smiles. Tears are already streaming down her face. “Can we come in?”
Y/N opens the door wider, letting Wanda and Natasha in before closing the door. They all stand there, no one really knowing what to say or do. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” Wanda’s eyes trail over her, looking for any physical wounds. “The only thing in my mind while we fought Thanos was you.”
“Thanos is gone?”
“Yes,” Natasha answers, “for good.”
Looking away from her moms, Y/N tries to process everything. Her eyes are stinging from the unshed tears and her hands are shaking do much she has to hold them behind her back so they wouldn’t see. She scrunches her brows together. It’s been five years.
“Little one?” Wanda sets her hand on Y/N’s shoulder. The urge to hug her daughter is overpowering, but the way she stepped back from her swims through her mind. She doesn’t want to overstep.
“Don’t call me that.” She mumbles, swatting away her hand. Her voice is harsher now. “I’m not okay. I was left alone for five years. I had to grow up at 14.” Y/N stares at her mothers. In the logical part of her brain, she knows her parents aren’t to blame for it, but the anger she has felt all these years is taking over.
“It’s horrible that you were alone for so long, we feel awful for not being there for you. You’re all grown up, and you had to do it without us.” Natasha takes a slow step forward, as if not to trigger Y/N. “It’s unfair. So unfair to you. You shouldn’t have gone through that.” Her voice cracks. She can see the pain in Y/N’s eyes. She was never able to hide anything from her.
“But we’re back now.” Wanda leans down slightly, coming to the same level as Y/N.
“No. You don’t know me anymore.”
“You’re still our girl.”
“No.” She shakes her head. Her breathing is getting more rapid as her face turns into anguish. It feels like all the feelings she has pushed down are coming out all at once. The lump in her throat is growing and her sight is getting fuzzy. “I’m not her anymore. I haven’t been her for a long time. I’m an adult now and I don’t need you!”
“Nothing could take our little girl away, you hear me?” Natasha is now close enough to set her hands on Y/N’s shoulders. She’s holding tightly enough so she won’t run away, but still gently so she won’t hurt her. “We know who you are deep down no matter what, because we are your parents,” she moves her hands to cradle crying Y/N’s face between them, “we are here, whether you need us or not. But we need you. We need our girl to be here.”
The minute Y/N’s cries turn into inconsolable sobbing, both Natasha and Wanda wrap their arms around her, carefully lowering to the ground. They whisper sweet nothings into her ears, while crying themselves. Knowing their daughter was alone for five years makes their heart ache for her in a way they have never ached before. Their daughter is the most important thing to them, and they weren’t there to protect her from the dangers of this world.
“We’re so sorry, little one, so sorry.” Wanda whispers, her face buried into Y/N’s hair. She holds her eyes closed as she takes in the now unfamiliar scent of her conditioner. It’s not the kid’s strawberry one she has loved for years anymore, she doesn’t recognize it. The feeling of everything about her being changed in what felt like five seconds to them feels so difficult to understand. It is partly true that they don’t know their daughter anymore, but Wanda eager to find out everything.
“I missed you.” Y/N says once her sobbing has stopped and her breathing has calmed down. “I missed you so much it hurts.”
Natasha kisses her cheek. “We’re never leaving you alone again.”
Pulling away slightly, Y/N sniffles. “You can’t promise that anymore. I was without you for a long time, you can’t expect things to go to the way they were five years ago.”
Wanda’s thumb rubs Y/N as she nods. It’s difficult to hear those kind of words, considering the gap has been significantly shorter for them. “We understand,” she moves Y/N’s eyes to meet hers, “but we have to try, okay? Because I refuse to lose you.”
Y/N nods, leaning her head against Wanda’s chest, completely exhausted from the day. She closes her eyes as Natasha plays with her hair and Wanda hums a Sokovian lullaby, just like they did when she was a kid.

In The Endgame (Peter Quill x reader)

Warnings: angst, fluff, emotion
No...
This wasn't supposed to happen.
You weren't supposed to die in space.
None of you were.
But Thanos had taken Gamora, and Peter, Drax, Mantis, and two of the Avengers you'd met all turned to dust right in front of you.
Your heart suddenly broke, knowing that Groot and Rocket were with Thor.
And now you were stuck in space with Nebula and Tony Stark.
Two people you were not incredibly fond of.
Once you were rescued and brought back to Earth, you learned that Rocket was alive, but Groot hadn't made it.
"What the hell happened to us, Kid?"
And even though he wouldn't admit it to anyone but you, he cried.
You cried for months after losing the love of your life.
But in the five years that followed that fateful day, you never moved on.
You kept yourself busy helping Rocket and Nebula to hold the Galaxy together and searching for Thanos while many of the heroes were 'dead'. And then one day, a bug dude showed up and brought the concept of time travel with him.
And this is how you ended up back on Morag in 2014.
It was the first time you'd seen Peter since he dusted. You desperately wanted to run to him and kiss him again, but this wasn't your Peter.
As he danced dramatically to 'Come and Get Your Love', you, Nebula and 'Rhodey'—as you'd been introduced—watched on at the utter ridiculousness.
Rhodey broke this silence.
"So he's an idiot."
You couldn't disagree.
"Yeah." You smiled sadly. "He's my idiot, though."
After all you'd been through there was no turning back now.
Portals opened everywhere in the ruins of the Avengers campus, and that's when you spotted Drax and Mantis, then—
Him. Your sweet, loveable idiot, Peter Quill. Sprinting over to join your found family once again, he spotted you and broke a smile. You returned it, giving him a desperate kiss when you reached him.
"I thought I lost you forever!" You cried, clinging to his jacket.
He looked confused. "It was only a few hours?"
Your head snapped up.
"Uh, try five years."
"What?..." He whispered, eyes widening as if horrified by the concept of you being alone for five years.
You turned towards Mantis and Drax, waving to them with a giddy expression. They both waved back, and you all faced the Mad Titan's army ahead.
And soon, you were right in the thick of it.
Lunging at a nightmarish humanoid creature, you blasted it before turning to cover Peter, who was fighting off two more. Once those were taken care of, you moved in and fought them back to back. Being close to Peter again felt like heaven, even in the battlefield.
Even when you saw all of the Female avengers joining to push back against the army, you were hesitant to leave Peter's side in fear that you'd lose him again.
"Go." He told you with a smile and a kiss. "I'll be here when it's over."
You ran after Mantis and Nebula, spotting...Gamora? You weren't sure how that worked, but you were glad nonetheless. It didn't feel right that Natasha wasn't there, but this, you felt, was to honor her. It was what she would want.
Fighting a pale squid looking thing, you watched over it's shoulder at Carol, the woman who had saved you in space, entering the fight. You cheered wildly and pumped your fist in the air. There was no way you would lose, now.
As you struggled with a Titan monster, you received some help from Groot, who skewered it with a thick branch while you blasted it in the head.
"Thanks, buddy." You high fived him.
"I am Groot."
"It's good to see you too!"
And all of the sudden, the Titans were disappearing.
It was then that you looked over to see Tony, slumped against a piece of wreckage, pale and barely breathing. It hit you that he had just snapped the enemy away, and that had drained everything out of him.
You shared a sad look with Rocket.
As dickish as Tony was, he had a good heart.
And he gave it all to save the world.
Everyone stood in silence as he breathed his last. And then one by one, they began to kneel. A king, a sorcerer, a captain, a soldier, an assassin, all from different backgrounds, honored one man. You kneeled and began to cry, knowing that he had a wife and daughter, one of which would be waiting for him.
After the funeral, you sat at the edge of the lake outside the Stark's cabin. Peter sat down next to you and slid an arm around your waist.
"He didn't have to do that." You bit back tears and leaned into him.
He signed deeply. "I don't think he saw a choice."
You had learned that Gamora, was in fact not the one you knew, but the one that didn't know any of you. The last you'd heard is that she'd run off in a ship from the battlefield.
"I missed you, Peter. You have no idea." You sobbed.
He pulled you closer "I'm sorry you had to go through that, babe."
"I...I couldn't bring myself to move on. You better treat Rocket right, too. He's the only reason I'm still here."
"I'm really glad you didn't. And, were on good terms, trust me."
You chuckled, giving a small smile.
"There it is." Peter crooned, kissing your jaw softly. "Wanna go get Dairy Queen before we head back out there?"
"Hell yeah!" You cheered.

There were many things about being an Avenger that you truly loved. Your friends and family were one of those perks, the line between the two blurring, ever since the Avengers defeated Thanos. The moment Thanos snapped, the moment you watched the people you loved turn into dust before your very eyes, was the moment where you realized, that everyone that fought by your side was your family. You didn’t care that you lost the war. It was a selfish sentiment that you would never dare to utter out loud. In that moment, where you felt your heart shatter a thousand times over, it didn’t feel like you failed the world. It felt like you failed the people you loved. You and the remaining Avengers stopped at nothing to get your team back, your family members. Consequently, with defeating Thanos came a satisfaction so resolute, that it almost healed the wounds in your heart. Almost. It still felt like you failed though you eventually got everyone back. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place. If you had been stronger, better, faster, Wanda wouldn’t have died in your arms on that day. You still remember the shaky breaths that left her, the rapid and jagged beating of her heart, and the slow tears that dripped down her pallid cheeks. When she collapsed, at first, you ran to her side and gently eased her into your lap as you ripped off your mask. In your mind, she was exhausted, tired, and hurting. Wanda had to destroy Vision, her best friend, to keep one of the stones from Thanos. In the end, her pain, her tears, and the guilt she felt at having to sacrifice someone she loved had been for nothing. Thanos still got the stone. He managed to collect all six, and everyone watched with fear and bated breath, as he snapped his fingers.
First, it was Bucky. Then, it was Sam. Then, it was T’Challa. And Groot. Then, it was Wanda. It started at her feet and slowly made its way up. Pieces of her turned into ash, inch by torturous inch, and floated away in the breeze polluted with the stench of death and darkened by the smoke of war and destruction. When you saw what was happening to her, all you could do was shake your head slowly, the denial at what was about to happen quickly engulfing you. The tears fell faster as sobs left your lips, and you clutched onto her with every ounce of your strength. Wanda reassured you over and over, her hand cupping your cheek as teary sobs left her, that everything was going to be okay, and that you were going to be alright. Her very last words to you were that she loved you, and the last of her that you felt before she disappeared from your hold had been the cold and shaky touch of her caress on your cheeks. You watched as what was left of her, the dust that had once been the woman you loved, disappeared into the orange hue of the sky that was ablaze with fire and explosions. Five years. That was how long it’d been. Five years. That was 260 weeks. 1,826 days. 43,830 hours. 15,780,000 seconds. You had to live that entire time without Wanda in your arms, without feeling her body against yours. Five years not seeing the gorgeous smile you loved. Five years not hearing the accent you adored. Five years not seeing the lush green of her eyes, eyes that reminded you of the green dahlias she loved to plant in her garden. Five years without the feel of her lips against yours. Five years not hearing her moans when you made love to her. Five years with you realizing, as every second ticked, the arms on the clock mocking you as they kept moving while your world ground to a screeching halt, that your future with her was gone. Just like that. All with the snap of two fingers. She was gone, and at the time, the last memory you had of her, was of her crying in your arms.
…but you couldn’t think about that right now. Not when you were in the middle of a mission, but also, you didn’t want to think about what those 5 years did to you. You could hardly remember them. The trauma had scorched those five years completely from your mind, and there were some things just not worth remembering.
Regardless of the hardships endured, there were only a few select things about being an Avenger that you truly hated. This one, you realized with growing dread, was one of them. You scaled down the walls of Oscorp Industries, silently making your way to the lower lab. It was eerie being in here by yourself. You weren’t in any immediate danger, or else your spider senses would have been bouncing off the walls of your mind, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that something was very, very wrong. To say that you hated Norman Osborn wasn’t quite true, but you didn’t like the man either. Rumors of his biological experimentation had spread like wildfire in the public news. However, the allegations couldn’t be proven without any substantial evidence. Norman was by the book. He crossed his T’s, dotted his I’s, and made sure that any mistakes that were made were taken care of internally. By government standards, what he was doing wasn’t illegal, just immoral. So, they allowed him to keep experimenting. Except, whatever happened just a few hours before you arrived was apparently so out of his hands that he had to call the Avengers. “His hand was forced” Nick repeated to you, Osborn’s words, not his, he told you as you were briefed on the mission details. Osborn had been less than forthcoming with any specifics, but he did say that the building was entirely evacuated of all personnel, and that whatever escaped was contained…for now.
This was where you came in. You made your way to the lower floors, and still crawled further down into the basement. Each floor you passed looked the same as the previous. Empty. Abandoned. Desolate. Eerie. Though the loud buzzer of the alarm was silenced, the overhead, florescent lights still remained off while the white, sharp lights of the alarms flashed repeatedly. It illuminated the space around you a millisecond at a time, and you felt like you’d dived head first into a scary movie. Someone would either scream at you to leave while they knew of the danger that lurked below, or would call you a dumbass for entering because they knew the danger that you weren’t aware of just yet. You would be the latter if you were in the audience.
The comm in your mask chirped to life and you flinched, your heart jumping into your throat at the sudden, unexpected noise.
“Any updates, Y/n?” Fury asked. You had to swallow your heart back into your chest before you could answer.
“So far so good,” you replied. “It’s spooky as hell in this building though.”
You could hear his chuckles. “Need back up?”
“Nah, I got this.”
“Copy that.”
You got lower and lower, your hands and feet gripping the walls securely as the lab you needed to enter came into focus. The moment you reached the ground and stood on two feet, you received a phone call. This, too, was patched through your mask and you smiled. You already knew who it was.
“My, my Ms. Maximoff,” you answered with a chuckle. “Don’t tell me that this is a booty call.”
You heard Wanda’s adorable giggles. In your mind’s eye, you could see the way her eyes squint when her smile reached them, the way the green would sparkle as her cheeks flushed a pretty pink.
“We live together, silly,” she finally said when she was able to talk. Still, some chuckles bubbled from the other end of the call, and you nibbled your bottom lip with your teeth as you felt your heart flip in your chest. “I was calling to see what you wanted for dinner.”
“You can be my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, baby girl,” you said with a husk. “I can always use the extra protein.”
Wanda snorted at your not-so-subtle innuendo. “As tempting as that sounds,” she said, her voice sarcastic but still humorous. “I was hoping that we could both eat. I’ve missed you and I wanted us to have a dinner together.”
You couldn’t help the bubble of emotion in your chest, your love for Wanda somehow growing stronger when you heard her words. It’d been a hectic few weeks, that’s for sure. It was mission after mission, assignment after assignment, and for those weeks, all you were able to share with her were only a few phone calls. You missed her too and you wanted nothing more than to be in her presence.
“I’ll cook us something,” she added when you didn’t immediately respond. You smirked.
“Do you want to cook?”
A laugh. “Not really, no.”
“Then, I’ll pick us up some Chinese on the way home.”
You could hear the excitement in her voice. “Oh! Can you get the potstickers?”
“Of course. Steamed not fried, with chicken not pork, and the ginger, sesame seed, soy dipping sauce on the side. Just the way you like it.”
“You know me so well, детка.”
“I try. I have to go and clean up a rich man’s mess. I love you.”
“One of these days, I’m going to put you in a maid’s uniform. It’ll be one of those slutty ones too, like what you see in anime? With as much cleaning Fury is having you do lately, I think you need a change in uniform.”
You smirked. “Don’t forget to buy the matching collar.”
“Now that is an idea,” she replied on a laugh. “I love you too. Be safe.”
“Yes ma’am. See you tonight.”
You ended the call and returned to the task at hand. Right as you webbed the doors and pulled them open with your strength, you heard the comm crackle to life in your ear.
“Y/n, I keep telling you to mute your comm when it concerns personal matters.” You smiled.
“And I keep telling you to not eavesdrop or you wouldn’t be as traumatized as you are. Besides, this isn’t the worst thing you’ve ever heard. Remember that time we all heard Yelena and Kate-”
“If you finish that sentence, I swear to god I’ll fire you,” Fury grumbled, the threat very much empty.
You couldn’t help the cackle that left you. Yelena and Kate thought it appropriate to have phone sex one day and they both forgot to shut off their comms. Fury was unable to mute the lines on his end so you, Natasha, and Bucky all heard what was said in excruciating detail. Bucky had turned an ugly shade of red before excusing himself. Natasha cackled the entire time, her phone out and recording what was being said before she sent it to both Yelena and Kate. Fury released a deep sigh before reaching beneath his desk and removing a shot glass and a bottle of tequila. He said that he was going to drink until the last few hours were completely scorched from his internal mainframe. It hadn’t worked. The only thing he successfully did was give himself a hangover that incapacitated him for two days. And you? Well, you grabbed a note pad and a pen from Fury’s desk and started scrawling notes. To say that the conversation you heard was colorful and informative was an understatement. There were things you heard that were definitely not a part of your sex ed curriculum when you were in high school. Later that night, you told Wanda what happened and what you learned. Then, you both decided to put your new knowledge to the test. It resulted in Wanda having some of the best orgasms of her life, and you sprinted into work the next day thanking Kate and Yelena profusely while they stared at you in horror. It took a month for the teasing to stop. It only did when Tony took a dick pic and sent it to the group chat and not to Pepper. Nick was a part of that chat, and when he saw it, he closed his one eye, sighed in defeat, and reached for the tequila bottle under his desk. He forwent the shot glass and wrapped his lips around the bottle instead, chugging mouthfuls at a time like the contents inside were water.
“I do like being employed,” you said.
“Then please do your job and go home to your girl.”
“Aye aye.”
You continued into the lab, the hallways just as pitch black as the floors were, and you moved silently. You listened intently and kept your guard up as you searched. So far, nothing was out of the ordinary, and you kept moving forward until you reached a reinforced metal door. You tried to enter the code Osborn provided, but the keypad would flash red and beep. You were about to contact Fury when you saw another means of entry. You shot a web at the vent and yanked the cover off before you webbed a line to pull yourself inside. You were only in there for a second before you removed another cover and dropped to the floor.
The lab you were in was massive, and it was completely wrecked. Electric panels had been ripped from various machines and the walls. Sparks of energy crackled and flew haphazardly to the ground before they fizzled out. Ripped wires and tubing hung from the ceiling. The white flashing of the alarms barely illuminated the space before you, but thanks to your enhanced vision, you weren’t having any problems. There were cracks and craters in the floors. As you looked around, you saw what looked to be a black rocked housed inside of a tank. The reinforced and impenetrable glass was cracked. Pieces of it were still breaking off and falling to the ground in sharp twinkles of sound. Something destroyed this place, and as you glanced back to the door you tried to enter from, you saw the deep indents of something strong and seemingly incorporeal in the metal of the door. It tried to batter its way out, the metal warped beyond repair.
“What do you see?” Fury asked after a while.
“It looks like someone released Bruce in here.” You knew that Fury could hear the sparks flying from the demolished electronics in the room. “Beyond that, I am not seeing anything.”
You turned and looked towards the black rock. It was iridescent, shiny, and shimmering as it reflected what little light still shined on it. Something inside of you told you not to touch it.
“Any casualties?”
“No.”
Something shifted behind you. It’d been quick, just the sound of movement that had you spinning on your feet. You looked around and held your breath, the seconds passing by without you hearing anything else before you relaxed. Maybe it was a trick of your senses. The darkness coupled with the unexplained destruction you were seeing played with your nerves. You turned to leave, but you still remained vigilant.
“Sorry, Nick, but there’s nothing-”
Your words were suddenly cut off when you felt your spider senses tingle, and you were about to whirl back around when something wet and dense slammed onto your back. What would have been a retaliatory attack against whatever was on you, morphed into you gaining your footing, standing there, and staring around the lab with confusion. What just happened? That fleeting feeling of panic was there and gone in a flash, and a sudden feeling of being okay replaced whatever had gripped you at first. Your spider sense faded back to normal, and you reached behind your back to feel nothing but the smooth texture of your suit. Nothing was out of place, and you furrowed your eyebrows. The more you thought about it, the more you couldn’t remember why you were so ready to attack in the first place.
“Y/n? Are you okay?”
You looked around once more, before turning to leave. “Yeah, I’m good. I almost tripped over something, I think. Osborn must be getting sloppy in his old age, but there’s nothing down here anymore. Whatever was in here must have escaped.”
“Okay, return to the compound, debrief, and go home.”
“Understood.”
You started to make your way back out, but had you been able to see what happened on your back, you would have seen the last few remnants of black soak into your body before it disappeared from sight altogether.

Why do they only focus on Tony Stark’s ptsd, trauma and mental health in general
—————————————
Steve Rogers - World War II veteran, was frozen for 70 years, lived through the Great Depression, best friend fell to death in front of him, proberly feels tremendous guilt for not searching for Bucky’s body, had abusive father in comics (you’d have to guess it was MCU cannon due to how they had no mention of his dad being otherwise)
Thor Odinson - has fought in many battles, mom was killed, dad died in front of him, had to kill his sister, lost his home, watched his brother die several times, had to fight his brother many times, was forced to rule when he didn’t wish to (“And believe me I would love for someone else to rule but is can’t be you. You’re just… the worst”)
Bruce Banner - turns into a homicidal, destructive monster
Clint Barton - was a shield agent, not much is known about him
Natasha Romanoff - Red Room, ex shield agent, the Ohio mission, never knew her family, Antonia Dreykov, guilt
Sam Wilson - ex pararescue, watched best friend fall to death
Wanda Maximoff - bombing survivor, two days stuck under rubble, human experimentation, forced to kill boyfriend, lost children, was left so horribly traumatised by killing vision that she accidentally mind controlled a small town to create a reality where everything was fine, was corrupted by the dark hold into trying to kill a child, was left hated for a accident that happens while trying to save people (Lagos), dead brother
Bucky Barnes - was kidnapped and experimented on, fell to ‘death’, was taken, had memories wiped, tortured, brainwashed, forced to kill, nearly killed best friend twice
Peter Parker - Uncle died in front of him, parents died when he was young, bullied, nearly crushed by falling building, blackmailed into fighting superheroes he was to inexperienced to fight, mentor died in front of him, aunt died in front of him, pressured into for filling a role he can’t, was forced to wipe everyone’s memories of him, lost everything
Carol Danvers - was kidnapped, had her memories wiped, was betrayed by her friend, still is recovering her memories in her second movie
Scott Lang - was kept out of his daughters life, lost years of her life to prison/thanos
Black Panther - saw his father die, almost kills a innocent man out vengeance, was nearly killed by his cousin
—————————————————
I could keep going on but I think you get the point
So many other mcu characters have trauma, many show signs of ptsd and I am a strong believer is Steve Rogers having really bad depression. My point is that there are so many other characters whose mental health the mcu could unpack but they continuously chose to not acknowledge it. Instead of fleshing out other characters via there mental health they keep choosing to shove Tony Starks daddy issues and the one time he flew into a wormhole in our face, which in my opinion was good the first time round but is now overused.

When your powers emerged, you were sent to an institution, where there were more people with you, mutants, no matter how many tears you shed, your parents left you there and never came back. It was thanks to Natasha Romanoff, that you found your place, she found you during a mission, you had saved her life by burning a man who was after her, Natasha took you in, saw potential in you, so she took you to be trained, so that one day you would be an avenger. As an avenger, your duty was to protect the earth and the people, that was your purpose, to be a hero and save lives, that was why you fought against Thanos, and when it was all over, many of your friends died.
In search of peace and tranquility, you left for the beach, where the water was abundant and the winds were aggressive at night, far away from all the pain caused by Thanos, the water washed your body of bad memories and brought you shells as gifts. After a few months living in this small house, your routine began to take shape, first the day started with a good breakfast, then you cleaned the house and went to the beach, swam and sometimes cleaned up the garbage left by some people, in the afternoon you were free to read or do anything artistic you wanted, and at night you ate a home cooked meal and slept. On rainy days your powers became a little too strong, the water hitting hard against the rocks sharpened your senses, and all you wanted was to get outside and be free to use your powers.
That's how you met him, on a stormy night, a blue boy, standing near the edge of the sea, at first you thought he might have been lost or drowned, but when he started walking towards you, saying some things in an unknown language, you realized that he was not from the surface, this boy was from the water.
Even without fully understanding what he was saying, you managed to communicate, showed the boy your house and dried his wet skin, the moment you handed him a mug of hot chocolate, you realized that he couldn't drink because he needed the device on his face to breathe. Fearful, you used your power to create a circumference of water around the boy's neck, allowing him not to need to wear the braces covering his mouth and to be able to drink the hot chocolate, he was almost the sponge bob in Sandy's house.
That wasn't the last time you saw the boy, every other day he would come back at night to play in the water, drink hot chocolate, or watch movies on TV. Then suddenly the child disappeared, a week went by and he didn't come, you waited every night for him at the water's edge, but there was no sign of the boy.
Until one dawn, noises of footsteps were coming from outside the house, running outside you saw the blue boy, hugged him and smiled when he returned the hug. The sun was setting, but still you two played in the sand, running around, and throwing water at each other.
Unbeknownst to you, from afar, three figures were watching you, watching you play with the boy, and using your powers so that he could be without the equipment. During the boy's disappearance, K'uk'ulkan, was interrogating him, asking about the missing equipment, and what the boy had used the equipment for, so when the child told him about you and how the two of them played at night in the water, Namora and Attuma along with K'uk'ulkan went to the surface and watched their powers flow from you to playing with the boy.
Slowly, the three approached, and when you noticed their presence, you quickly moved into attack position, afraid that they would hurt you or the kid.
"Who are you?"
"I am K'uk'ulkan, King of Talokan, my enemies call me Namor, but I don't think it is suitable for you."
"What do you mean?."
"I know you are not an enemy, you present no risk, I have observed you for a few days, I am curious about your powers, and so are my people."
Since that day K'uk'ulkan and you began to meet, he told about how he found out the boy was going to the surface, the child's parents noticed him missing at night, and curiously at the same time, that equipment also disappeared.
In every encounter, more and more, the King of Talokan fell in love with you, he felt a fascination for your power, and watched whenever possible you use your power to amuse the boy. The child's parents wanted to know who was the person who caught their child's attention, so K'uk'ulkan, Namora and Attuma, took the little family to meet you, they were curious about the person who could control the four elements.
Soon the news spread through Talokan, most saw you as a possible ally, but others like Attuma and Namora, believed you could be the Queen at K'uk'ulkan's side.
Of course the King knew about this gossip, the years were passing and he still didn't have a Queen at his side, but with you, he saw a possibility, who would be better than a powerful woman like you? He knew that he was destined to be with the woman who captivated one of his small children, and who instead of attacking, took the boy into her home and cared for him as if he were her son too, K'uk'ulkan knew that you were his Queen.
The people of Talokan accepted the King's choice, not because they were afraid of him, but because they knew you would be a good Queen for them, and even the most distrustful like Namora, began to love the future Queen, you would give security and protect them as you did the people on the surface, that was your purpose now, it was your destiny to be Queen of Talokan.
"Marry me, be my Queen, y/n, with your strength and mine, one day we can burn the world, you have enchanted me since the first time I saw you, like a mermaid."
K'uk'ulkan believed he would have the strength to control himself until the wedding, but he was wrong, lust was stronger, the moment you agreed to marry, he pressed his lips to yours, his strong calloused hands gripped your body. In the blink of an eye, his big hand was on your pussy, touching your clit until you came.
"My love, cum for me, I want you to wet my hand before I put my cock in you."
When he was satisfied, he kissed your mouth, it was a hot and wet kiss, he laid you on the bed with your back to him, in your ear he whispered in a groggy, panting voice.
"Forgive me for being so impatient, I can't control myself anymore, the only thing I can think about is your body and how I want to fuck you."
The room was being filled with the smell of sex, as he teased your pussy, rubbing his cock against you, his hands grabbed your breasts and squeezed them hard enough to leave marks.
"Beg."
"Please."
*Quickly K'uk'ulkan lifted one of your legs, positioned his cock in your pussy and thrust deeply, his breathing was ragged as his thrusts got faster and faster.
"Allow me to cum inside you, love, a good husband should always cum inside his wife, to give her children, say you want it, I will give every drop to your pussy."
The words spoken in your ear made your pussy tighten around his cock, K'uk'ulkan wanted to get you pregnant, the idea of being a mother never crossed your mind, but now, with his cock so deep, reaching that place that made you see stars, yes, you wanted to be a mother.
"Please, K'uk'ulkan, my husband, cum in me."

It´s been a long, long time
Chapter 93
Returning to civilization felt strange as if I’d expected the world to be drastically different. In some ways, it was—just worse. Thanos, the mad titan, had set his sights on Earth. I wasn’t sure if I had any fight left in me; on bad days, I could barely stand.
We had just fought two of his minions—formidable fighters who fled only after Sam, Nat, Steve, and I intervened to save Wanda and Vision. Their relationship had always struck me as odd—Vision wasn’t human, after all. But the way they looked at each other, full of love and devotion, made my heart ache.
Vision had been wounded during the fight, so we rushed to the one place that could help him—Wakanda. Not only to treat his injuries but to extract the soul stone from his forehead. Destroying it was the only way to stop Thanos from getting his hands on it.
I thought going to Wakanda might stir something in me—the prospect of seeing Bucky again. But I was too tired to feel anything. All I could think about was how I had hoped to hunt down Dr. Locke the moment I could show my face in public again.
Yet here I was, with another being from space threatening our existence, forcing me to put everything aside. At least when we were on the run, my life was my own. Now, this overwhelming responsibility was thrust back upon me, and I wasn’t sure if I could bear it.
Putting the suit back on felt like a heavyweight, dragging me down, and I didn’t have the strength to fight it. Steve, on the other hand, seemed to welcome the distraction—if you could even call it that. He was back to his stern, commanding self, throwing himself into the fight with renewed purpose. But every time his eyes landed on me, he offered a sad smile, as if he could see how much I was struggling beneath the surface.
We touched down on one of the many helipads in Wakanda. As I unstrapped myself, Steve approached, placing his hands gently on my shoulders. "Are you okay? If you want to stay back, not join the fight..." he started, his concern obvious.
But I cut him off. "I'm fine. I’d rather fight than sit around and think," I replied, my voice firmer than I felt.
He nodded, his eyes searching mine for a moment longer, then bent down to press a quick kiss on my lips before turning to leave the jet.
I took a deep breath before stepping out, and there he was—instantly recognizable. His hair was longer, his beard fuller, but the smile he wore seemed genuine. Steve greeted him first, pulling him into a tight hug, both of them laughing. Bucky’s smile faltered for a moment as his eyes scanned the area, and when Steve pointed in my direction, our gazes met.
I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up. Without thinking, I quickened my pace, rushing toward him. The moment I reached him, Bucky wrapped his arms around me, and I felt him sigh as he murmured my name. We held each other tightly before finally pulling back, our smiles reflecting the same quiet joy. For the first time in a long time, I truly smiled.
I pulled back fully when I realized everyone’s eyes were on me. Steve broke the silence with a smile. "We’ll take Vision to the lab. Why don’t you two catch up?"
"Are you sure?" I asked, my brow furrowed, trying to ignore the hopeful look on Bucky’s face beside me.
"Yeah," Steve nodded, his smile turning solemn. "Enjoy the peace and quiet before everything goes to hell."
I knew he was doing this for me, offering a small gift of time and space because he understood how fragile I’d become. His gesture wasn’t lost on me, and I gave him a small nod in return, grateful even in my hesitation.
Steve patted both of us on the back before disappearing with T’Challa and the others, leaving me and Bucky alone in the quiet aftermath.
"So, how have you been?" Bucky asked with a soft smile. I opened my mouth to respond, but the truth felt too heavy, too raw. I didn’t want to burden him with it. Instead, I redirected the conversation.
"Forget about me," I said, forcing a lighter tone. "How have you been? How long have you been out of cryo?"
We started walking through the bustling city, the vibrancy of Wakanda almost surreal against the weight of everything on my mind.
His expression grew serious, his gaze fixed ahead as he replied, "A while… They woke me not long after they found a way to get those words out of my head."
I hadn’t expected that answer. It stung, more than I wanted to admit, that he hadn’t tried to contact me all that time.
Sensing the shift, Bucky glanced at me, almost apologetic. "I knew you were on the run, so I figured it was best not to reach out. Wakanda has been a blessing, honestly. I just wish you two could’ve been here too… maybe Sam too." He smiled faintly, trying to soften the weight of his words.
I nodded, but the ache lingered. Part of me understood, but another part couldn’t shake the distance that had grown between us. Maybe it was better this way, I thought, trying to convince myself.
"So… did they help you? With the trigger words, I mean," I asked as we sat down on a bench overlooking a small lake, the water calm and reflective.
Bucky smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes as he nodded. "Yeah. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but… I’m free." He glanced toward a small cottage across the lake and pointed. "I’ve been living there. It’s so peaceful here, and the people are incredible. I haven’t felt like this in… well, a long, long time."
Hearing him say those words—a kind of peace I’d almost forgotten was possible—brought a strange mix of happiness and sadness. I was glad for him, but it made me wonder if I’d ever feel that kind of freedom again.
"I’m so happy for you, Buck," I said, and I truly meant it. Seeing him like this, so at peace, warmed my heart in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time.
"You and Steve could stay here when all of this is over," he suggested with a wide smile. "It’s not Brooklyn, but the air’s a lot better."
I smiled softly and looked out at the lake. He was right—it was beautiful and serene, the kind of quiet I hadn’t realized I missed. Children played and laughed in the water, their joy contagious. A few of them waved at Bucky, and he waved back with a smile before turning back to me, his eyes still bright with hope.
"It sounds amazing, Buck," I said, my voice soft yet strained. "But I can’t… at least not for a while. There’s something I have to do."
The heaviness in my words made his smile fade, his brow furrowing in concern. "Do what?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for an answer.
I fidgeted with my hands, struggling to find the right words. Bucky’s hand gently rested on my shoulder, his touch reassuring. "Talk to me," he said quietly, sensing the complexity of the matter.
I took a shaky breath. "Steve and I have a son."
Bucky’s eyes widened in surprise, but I rushed on before he could react. "Hydra ambushed us in the middle of the night and took me. They drugged me, kept me unconscious through the entire pregnancy, and then stole my baby, leaving me behind like trash."
Tears welled up as the memories surged back, my voice trembling. "Hydra has him, and I won’t rest until I get him back."
I wiped away my tears, waiting for Bucky’s response. He was momentarily speechless, his shock evident. After a deep breath, he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a tight embrace.
In the shelter of his arms, I allowed myself to fully feel the weight of losing my baby, setting aside the anger and the vengeful images that had been driving me. For a moment, I just let the pain wash over me, grateful for the comfort and understanding he offered.
Bucky pulled back slightly, looking into my eyes with a determined expression. "Do you have any leads?"
I shook my head. "No, nothing. I only know the doctor’s name—Doctor Locke." Bucky’s face darkened at the mention.
"Do you know him?" I asked, a knot tightening in my stomach.
He nodded slowly, a grimace crossing his features. "I do." He took my hand firmly. "We will get your son back, I promise you."
At that moment, I felt a spark of hope flicker to life within me for the first time in months, warmed by Bucky’s resolve and the promise of a future where I could finally find my son.

It's Just This Once
Chapter 1
Hey everyone! This is my first post. This work is finished but I will be uploading the chapters weekly. (I don't really know how Tumblr works so if y'all have suggestions or tips let me know)
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Warnings: Not many. Bucky and his PTSD, my life choices to write this, nightmares, Bucky's regret and self hatred. Idk. There's not even language in this thing its mostly fluff.
Summary: Y/N is an Avenger, she has healing powers and uses them to patch up the rest of the team. Bucky never asks her to use her healing powers on him, except once.
Chapter Word Count: 1,912
Chapter 1: Take the Pain Away
Y/N was working in her little corner of the medical wing of the newly built Avengers Compound. All was right in her little world, well as right as her world could be since reappearing after a five year absence.
Everyone was trying their hardest to go back to normal but adapting to a life without Steve, Tony, and Natasha was far from it. Shortly before Tony and Steve's fallout, Y/N was recruited by Fury to join the Avengers Initiative. He had somehow figured out she was an enhanced and convinced her to join the team. She had hid her abilities so well in the past she had no idea how a man she had never met before found out about them. Y/N had the extraordinary ability to heal others, it had taken an insane amount of time, energy, and focus to master her powers. With the help of Wanda she had also been able to unlock another talent. She had intuition that was insanely on point so she could guide her teammates on their missions. Natasha had taught her some martial arts moves and Steve taught her how to protect herself in a fight. Y/N soon became part of the family and finally found a place where she belonged, but after a few billion people came back from nothingness, her family seemed to narrow down. She had fought in the battle against Thanos and tried, had really tried, to heal Tony with her powers but in the end it wasn't enough. She couldn't help but feel a little responsible for his death. When the battle was over and Steve left to be with the love of his life, he left so many friends behind. If Y/N couldn't heal Tony's physical wounds, maybe she could heal the emotional wounds he and Steve left behind.
Shortly after the battle she became close with the remaining Avengers. She helped guide Sam on missions as the new Captain America, she comforted Wanda after her little outburst in Westview, she even got to know Bucky a bit more. Sam had convinced him to live at the new Compound with him instead of being alone in an old apartment in Brooklyn. Every so often Sam and Bucky would limp into the med bay in need of healing. She had healed Sam several times and Wanda a few but never Bucky. He always said she shouldn't waist her energy on him, and she always replied with, "It's no trouble at all, it doesn't take that much energy." Bucky would brush it off and say his advanced healing would take care of his injuries in no time. She never really pushed it, considering what he's been through with people messing with his body, it didn't surprise her when he didn't want to be helped.
Today was nothing unusual when Sam came into the med bay with an arm around Bucky and the other around his side. Y/N hopped up from the seat at her desk and began walking to the two men.
"What did you do this time?"
"This idiot took a bullet for me." Bucky spoke up as he helped Sam into a bed.
"Hey don't be mad at me for saving your life." Sam snapped back. He was taking off part of his uniform so Y/N could assess the injury properly.
"I have better healing than you, I would have been just fine." Bucky countered.
"I'll be fine! I have the best healer in the world right here, right doc?" Sam shot a quick smirk at Y/N as she started to heal him. A light purple glow emitted from her hands as she closed the wound on Sam's torso.
"Just because I can heal you in seconds doesn't mean you can be reckless."
Sam's smirk faded as Bucky gave a short "Ha" in victory. Y/N noticed Bucky was holding his left arm with his right and had a few bruises on his face.
"I could always heal you too Bucky if you need it."
"It's fine doll, these bruises will be gone in a couple hours." He said as he gestured to his face. Y/N turned her attention back to Sam as she finished up her work.
"All done." She said as she removed her hands. "Go clean up, Wanda and I are making dinner soon."
She grabbed a cloth and wiped some of the blood off her hands.
"You're the best doc. " Sam gave her a quick hug and headed out with Bucky. As they left she saw how tight the muscles in Bucky's were. With all of the experience Y/N had with healing people, she was able to see how much he was hurting. It could just be the stress of the mission so she didn't think much of it.
Later that evening while Y/N was cooking with Wanda, she once again noticed Bucky. At this point she couldn't tell if it was just stress or flat out pain. Sam was tapping away at his laptop sending a report on the mission to Fury. He didn't seem to notice the tight expression Bucky was wearing. Bucky was absentmindedly rubbing his left shoulder where metal met flesh, he looked exhausted.
"You good Buck?"
He glanced up at her removing his hand from his shoulder and said,
"Yeah, I'm fine. " with a half hearted smile.
She hoped that a warm meal would help. Y/N loved to cook, especially with Wanda, she loved seeing people's faces when they ate the food she made. Pretty much everyone else was away from the compound so it was just the four of them. Wanda had suggested they make soup since Autumn came out of nowhere and settled in New York. They set the table and listened to Sam talk about the mission he and Bucky had just endured. Bucky let Sam do all the talking for once and kept quite happily enjoying the warm food. The creases in his features slowly melted away as he finished the soup. Once the story was finished and the dining room was cleaned up, everyone said their goodnights and started off to their rooms, all expect Y/N.
"You're not going to sleep?" Wanda had asked when she saw Y/N going towards the elevator instead of her room.
"I have some work left to finish since I was so rudely interrupted earlier." She had turned her head to Sam with a smile.
"Hey don't come at me." He said with his hands up in a surrendering gesture as he walked to his room.
She gave a small laugh, "Goodnight guys."
Y/N headed down to her lab and picked up where she left off. She was running some lab work on some blood samples when she heard thunder shake the building. It startled her enough for her to nearly drop her test tube. Soon after she heard rain begin to pound on the walls of the Compound. She glanced at the clock as it struck 1:00 am.
"Just a little longer." She whispered as she resumed her work.
Bucky was sitting in his bed when he heard Thunder boom outside his window. He hadn't slept since coming to his room, too stressed from the mission and in too much pain. He knew the rain was coming, he felt it in his bones, but that didn't make it any less unsettling. He truly felt like an old man knowing rain was coming by the way his prosthetic arm felt. The mission had caused a few unpleasant memories to resurface and that made his mind uneasy. All of that combined together resulted in a dull headache and an unbearable amount of phantom pain in his left arm. His shoulder was throbbing and it felt as if he was being stabbed by a hundred needles where his metal arm occupied where his flesh should be. His breathing was laboured and heavy, he was so close to a panic attack it wasn't even funny. The weather hadn't helped either, it made him feel cold and achey. He tried so hard to keep it together but the pain became too much. He needed relief and there was one person he could think of to help. He hated the idea of Y/N using her healing powers on him when she could use them for something much more valuable. He didn't want to inconvenience her with his pain but it was becoming agonizing. He sat and thought it over for a few more minutes when he finally caved and made his way down to her lab. He stood at the door and sighed,
"It's just this once."
Y/N was just about finished when she heard a small knock at the lab entrance. She got up and walked towards the door, she wasn't expecting to see Bucky when she opened it. He stood with his hand clutching his metal shoulder, his hair was unkempt and he had bags under his eyes.
"Hey, I thought you went to bed. Is everything okay?"
"Uh, not really. I hate to ask you this, especially this late, but-"
Suddenly thunder echoed through the lab and Bucky squeezed his eyes shut and his breath began to shake, using his hand to add more pressure to his shoulder.
"My shoulder hurts, and my arm too kinda." He looked down not wanting to meet her eyes.
"Like phantom pain?" She questioned
"Y-yeah, it feels like pins and needles. The vibranium feels heavy."
"Are you asking me to help you?" She asked in disbelief.
"I-if you don't want to that's fine I can manage."
"No, no come in, sit down."
She led him to one of the beds and guided his hand off his shoulder, eager to work on the one person she hadn't helped.
He winced in pain as he moved, his hand letting up the pressure it was omitting on his upper arm.
"Sorry," she stepped back for a second, "I need you to take off your shirt." In the dimly lit lab she could see him blush a little. "It'll be better if I have direct contact to the skin."
He complied, slowly and painfully taking off his blue Henley. She walked around to the side of the bed to begin.
"I'm just going to put my hands on your shoulder, okay?"
He gave a very tight nod and she began. Her hands danced across the mess of scar tissue where metal crept into his skin. She couldn't help but felt bad for what Hydra did to him. His breath hitched but his back slowly became more relaxed. She could feel his heart rate slowing and his breath even out.
"I'm halfway done, are you okay? " she was concerned. She had never been able to do this for Bucky before and didn't know how he'd react.
"Mhmm." he seemed content.
She stopped and moved to his front to place her hands on his collar bone. She tried not to make it too awkward by making eye contact but she glanced up anyway and met his blue eyes. They both quickly looked away and Y/N turned her attention back to his arm. She stopped when she felt she couldn't do anything more to help with the pain.
"Done, does that feel better?"
He immediately brought her in for a hug and whispered a quite,
"Thank you."
She hugged back happily,
"You're welcome."
It gets better I promise. It was originally a one shot but it evolved.

Vaz Prizrak-Three
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Words: 1387
Warnings: swearing, some smut, fluff, lots of angst.
Summary: Bucky and Reader’s life in Wakanda had been everything they ever wanted. But when they are told about the fight that was on it’s way to them, they fear that life would be dusted away for good.
Authors Note from 12/6/24: During my reread of my first Bucky series, I realized chapter three was missing so here I am, posting it to add it to the master list!
“UGLY! MOTHER! FUCKERS!,” I bellowed as my knife sliced through an alien's throat, three stabs, as they had me pinned to the ground.
With a swift kick, it fell to the ground in a heap and I was back on my feet in a flash; just in time to send my knife into another alien's head.
Thanos’ army was fast, strong, and not all that appealing to look at. It seemed that now matter how many we killed, hundreds more appeared.
“Bucky?!” I yelled while looking around.
In the midst of everything, I had become lost in the fray. Bucky and Steve were somewhere on the other end of the battle field. My long hair was a mess, blowing in the winds, as I frantically looked around. I was fighting side by side with the many men of the Wakanda army.
All too quick, my veins filled with fear and my skin tingled with death.
Bucky.
My head snapped to the left and this time, my own anger filled me as I saw the sight in front of me.
Bucky was on the ground, alien on top of him, as he tried to fight it off of him with his small knife. Darkness took over my vision, clouding my judgement, and the all too familiar warmth spread to the tips of my fingers, sparking to life.
I shot multiple balls of fire at the alien on top of Bucky, who watched in slight horror as it fell to ash around him.
“SHE’S BACK!” Sam’s voice yelled into the coms.
Blinking my eyes a view times, the darkness was gone and I was staring at Bucky’s concerned face.
“Are you alright?” He questioned, cupping my chin.
Time had stopped for a split second around us.
“Never better,” I grinned while smacking my hands together.
They sparked again, flames burning my finger tips.
We fought for a few moments longer before coming to a halt when lighting struck around us, causing the fighting to stop.
A few inches from me stood someone I hadn’t seen in a very, very long time.
“Long time no see, Thor.” I smiled towards him.
“Y/N? You changed your hair,” He smirked, ruffling my hair.
I had almost forgotten that my powers changed it to a vibrant red.
“You made some new friends?” I pointed towards the racoon and the walking tree.
“This is my new friend Rocket and Tree,” he introduced.
“I am Groot,” the tree spoke.
I nodded. “I am Y/N L/N.”
“Y/N! I could use some back up over here!” Steve’s voice yelled into the coms.
My feet sprinted over towards him, blasting away any aliens that got in the way. Steve stood in front of me, blood pouring from a wound on his lip and I gently wiped it away.
I went to speak but felt myself getting pounced on from behind, head smacking hard against a rock.
“Shit,” I groaned.
Sharp teeth chomped towards my face and the blood pooling from my forehead caused my vision to fade, in and out. The drool from the alien dripped down on me, an indication that he was seconds away from ending it all.
The alien was off before I could register that Steve had kicked him, sending him flying meters away.
“Y/N,” he cooed while helping me to sit up.
“I’m alright,” I stated as I smacked his hands away. “I heal fast, remember.”
Steve sighed, his fingers brushing against the open wound of my forehead. I couldn’t stop the loud hiss that fell from my lips.
“GUYS! VISION NEEDS BACKUP!” Bruce’s voice rang through the coms.
Steve hesitated while looking at me, weighing the decision in his mind.
“Go, I’ll be fine,” I nodded.
He was still apprehensive but when I set an alien ablaze that had sneaked up behind him, he knew that I was in fact alright.
Once he left, I willed myself to my knees, trying to gain whatever strength I had left. This fight had taken so much out of me, not having to exert this much energy in such a long time, and I knew that this was it.
“I’m going to die alone,” I muttered with a sigh.
“You’re not alone.”
Natasha helped me to my feet, brushing the dust off my shoulders.
“Now, I know I didn’t teach you to give up so easily,” She t’sked.
“Moment of weakness,” I shrugged.
Suddenly, the wind had picked up, circling around us with a soft breeze, the air shifted with an uneasy feeling. Natasha and I shared a knowing look and we with a quick nod, we both ran towards Steve and Vision.
“He’s here,” Vision spoke.
I turned my back to them, speaking into my com. “Bucky, where are you?”
Silence.
“Damnit,” I cursed.
Steve pulled me closer to him before speaking into his com. “Everyone in my position. We have in-coming.”
A sudden portal opened in front of us, a giant purple titan stepping out of it. I gasped, the fear of knowing that there would be no way we could stop him loomed close.
“That’s him,” Banner said.
Steve looked at me, engaging his shield. “Eyes up. Stay sharp.”
The flames burned with hate as I shot multiple fireballs towards Thanos, who had easily dodge them. His large hand wrapped around my throat, lifting me with ease.
“Pathetic,” he spat, throwing me to the side.
I landed against a tree with a loud, painful groan and I could hear Steve scream my name. My body lay defeated in the dirt, eyes watching as my friends tried to fight against Thanos, only to fail.
Bucky’s screams came from the bushes, gun firing at Thanos.
“Bucky!” I yelled, watching him getting thrown in front of me.
Tired hands and feet crawled over towards him, turning his heavy body over so I could look in his eyes.
“Are you alright?” I pondered, brushing the hair out of his face.
“You’re bleeding,” he mumbled.
His vibranium fingers wiped the blood from my head.
“I’m okay,” I reassured him with a soft kiss.
Bucky let out a loan groan, the pain of the fight catching up to him. “I’m starting to think we should have stayed in bed.”
The giggle that fell through my lips was cut short as the screams of Wanda filled the air. My full attention was on her as I watched Thanos bring Vision back to life, only to end it just as quick, pulling the mind stone from him. Vision’s body fell to a heap on the ground, right next to Wanda.
“No,” I trembled, tears welled in my eyes.
Thanos stood tall, all six stones in hand. Thor, however, had arrived out of nowhere, laying his axe in Thanos’ chest. But it didn’t matter, no matter how deep Thor dug his axe into Thanos.
“You should have gone for the head,” Thanos said.
Before anyone could register what happened, he raised his hand with a quick snap.
“NO!” I bellowed.
Thanos’ hand burned, his gauntlet almost to ash, as the aftermath of what he did started to lay around us.
“What did you do?!” Thor demanded.
As fast as he arrived, Thanos was gone.
Steve stumbled his way over to Bucky and I, helping us to our feet. After giving us a quick once over, he turned his attention to Thor.
“Where did he go?” He questioned.
“Thor, where did he go?!” I fumed.
“Y/N?”
Bucky’s voice was filled with fear and worry as he spoke my name; it came off so quiet from his lips that I almost hadn’t heard.
Steve and I both turned our attention towards Bucky, who suddenly was dusting away with the wind, body disappearing.
“BUCKY!” I yelled running towards him.
My knees fell to the ground, hands spreading through the ashes of where Bucky once lay.
“NO, BUCKY!”
My scream echoed throughout the forest, the high pitch banshee like yell causing whatever birds there were left to flock away from me. Fire shot from my hands, setting the grass and trees around us a blaze in a warm fire. Everyone winced at the sound of my yells, cries for my lost love, as I buried myself deeper into the ground, hoping that this was a bad dream. Bucky was still here, he hadn’t left me.
A loud, painful scream had clawed its way through the tough confines of my throat as I doubled over in pain to clutch my stomach. It felt like my insides were being ripped out and with a choking sob, I spit piles of dusty ash to the ground. My fingers shook as I dug into the ground, the realization of what happened coming to light.
I had now lost every single part of Bucky in the snap. Not only was he gone but what I was growing inside of me had vanished before I even knew it was there.
I was so engrossed in my own pain that I hadn't noticed others had disappeared as well. Until Steve pulled me from the ground, into his chest.
My cries came out muffled against his suit as I screamed and kicked against him. “He’s not gone. He can’t be!”
Steve cupped my cheeks, forcing my broken gaze to his. “It’s okay. I’m here.”
Knuckles turned white as I clutched onto him with whatever strength I had left, fearing that he would leave me too.
“What do we do now?” Natasha asked.
“I don’t know,” Steve admitted before hushing my cries with a soft kiss to the top of my head.
For once in his entire life, Steve didn’t have a plan and that absolutely terrified him.

you know what’s funny… it took 8yrs. to make Izuku his hero costume and honestly phineas and ferb would have made that suit within 3 or 4 hours
because if they can make a huge rollercoaster, time travel, travel to space, travel the world, create an intelligent escape tower that covered the whole galaxy
then yes, they could have made a suit within 3 or 4 hours plus they actually did make a suit and since phineas and ferb follow blueprints they could have pulled out this blueprint as a base to get a good idea for izuku’s suit
like phineas and ferb create so many things just for fun and they are so smart that iron man himself gave them the opportunity to go have an intership with him
honestly if the marvel universe is in the phineas and ferb universe then by definition so is mha because if you know or may not know deadpool and all might fought thanos and deadpool is a part of the marvel universe
#this is just for fun#just a random thought that came to mind#phineas and ferb#my hero acedamia#boku no hero academia

A fresh start masterlist
16.666 followers ‘16 days of requests’ celebration
Two years after the blip, support group meeting, …
“Welcome to our support group,” you shyly glanced up at the tall man holding out his hand. “I have never seen your face here before. Do you want to have a seat? We got tea and some cookies. I think Cherice will bring cake today.”
“I-uh,” you tried to swallow the lump in your throat. “Hi, I’m Y/N. I heard about this group. I thought…maybe I can support you too. I got a bakery across the street and made some cupcakes.”
You pushed the box filled with cupcakes into his hands. “I got cupcakes and some cookies. I know from my granny that people get hungry after talking. I mean…she was…Everyone came to my granny with their problems. She always had an open ear for them. Now she’s gone…”
“I’m sorry to hear, Y/N,” he softly said. “I wish we could’ve done more.”
“OH! No…no,” you shook your head. “My granny didn’t get dusted.” You gave Steve a weak smile. “She died a few weeks before all of this happened. At least I can visit her grave. I can talk to her and…” You sighed deeply. “I came here because I want to help. My granny would’ve done the same.”
“I’m Steve and we gladly have you around, Y/N. Do you want to help me with the chairs? The others aren’t here yet.”
“O-kay,” you looked the man up and down. He was a tall and handsome man, with his blue eyes, pink and plump lips, and the thick bead framing his face. He reminded you of someone, but this couldn’t be. Or could it?
“Great.”
“Do I know you?” you asked before you could stop your tongue. “Sorry, it’s just you remind me of someone but I’m bad at memorizing names.”
“Guilty,” he laughed nervously.
“It is really you?” you gasped. “Captain…thank you for your service.” Without thinking twice, you hugged Steve, holding him tightly. “Sorry…it’s just…we all saw the pictures and you fought so hard for all of us. So…thank you.”
God, you felt so stupid. How could you just pounce on Steve Rogers? Captain America in flesh and blood.
“It’s fine,” he softly said while running his hand over your head. “No one thanked me for failing them. I let the world down.”
“Captain, you didn’t fail us,” you hastily said. “You and your friends fought so hard.” You teared up. “We all lose sometimes. It’s just the way this world works. Sometimes you win, other times you lose.”
He smiled. Steve didn’t know how long it has been since he smiled. But right there, in this very moment, it felt right to smile.
“Still, I wasn’t strong enough.”
“I’m sorry,” you said. “I didn’t want to make you sad.”
“No, you—” looking at each other, like you are the only two people you didn’t recognize the room filled with the members of Steve’s support group.
“OH! We forgot about the chairs, Steve.”
The spell was broken when you turned around to help the others with the chairs. Steve watched you for a moment, a content smile on his lips.
“Please welcome Y/N, our newest member,” Steve introduced you to his support group. “She lost her grandmother before the snap. Y/N was kind enough to bring us cupcakes and to offer her support.”
“I remember your grandmother,” Semira, your former neighbor’s daughter said. You remember the cocky girl too. She always listened to the same song and sang along. “She was kind. Always was there for us.”
“She liked you too, Semira,” you whispered. You always were a little shy around too many people, or in general. But at that moment, with everyone staring at you, including Captain America, you felt even more nervous. “Granny was the heart of Brooklyn.”
“Do you want to talk about your grandmother, Y/N?” Steve asked. “Whatever you tell us will stay within these walls.”
“I only came here to help. You all lost so much more,” you dropped your gaze. “Please continue. I’ll get more tea and coffee for all of you.”
After the other members of the support group left, you and Steve cleaned the room for the next group.
“If you want to, you can tell us more about your grandmother next time,” Steve broke the comfortable silence.
“It’s fine,” you gave him a weak smile. “This is a support group for survivors who lost their loved ones in the blip.”
“We support everyone,” he looked down at you, features softening as he could see the hesitation in your eyes. “Or we can talk after the meeting if you want to, doll.”
Your cheeks heated up at the cute nickname. “I don’t want to waste your time. You already do so much. This world is…different now. Colder. Harder. You are a light in the darkness.”
He smiled. Again. For the third time that day.
“I lost my two best friends in the blip and Tony…we don’t know what happened to him. Maybe he got dusted too. I don’t know.”
“I’m sorry,” you grasped for his hands. “You lost so much and yet; you blame yourself for a fight all of us lost. Not only you.”
“Doll, it was my fault. I failed all of you.”
His eyes dropped to your hands holding his so larger ones.
“Maybe you need to take your own advice and talk about your feelings more. You listened to all of them but didn’t give away what’s hurting your heart.”
“Maybe you can listen to me from now on?” he asked, making your heart flutter. “I know we barely know each other. But I can talk to you better than to the people I know for so many years.”
You chewed on your lower lip. “If you want to, you can visit me at my bakery. I live upstairs.”
“I’d like that,” he said, offering you another smile.
After that day Steve and you became friends.
He often visited you at your bakery and you joined him at the meetings. If only to support the members and your friend.
You talked for hours after the meetings, sharing your feelings. Steve was a constant in your life for almost three years.
Until one day he said something making you fear for his life.
“We know how to undo the blip…”

<<Chapter 14
Brooklyn, Autumn 2024
It's not easy planning a wedding in six weeks. But it is easier if you have a community that rallies around you and the many friends that the couple made with the volunteers at the newcomer centre, dock workers, and Tracey's fellow nurses offered their forces to help Bucky and Tracey. Several who had fought against Thanos stepped up as well, offering their help, even from afar by agreeing to help in any way they could. It also helped to have the funds and the know how to do it, especially when the know how came from a surprise source.
Several days after the engagement was announced Bucky returned home from the docks and was surprised to see a dark limousine parked in front of the house. Fearing the worst, he braced himself to face whomever was now inside the house and tell them in no uncertain terms to leave him and his family alone. He shouldn't have worried for as soon as he stepped inside, he was shocked to see Pepper and Morgan Stark sitting on the couch, with their driver Happy Hogan perched on a dining room chair pulled into the living room.
"Hi Bucky," said Pepper warmly, standing and extending her hand to his. "I'm sorry we stopped by without letting you know first but we just heard about your engagement. Rhodey mentioned it in passing and well, I wanted to offer my help to you, if you'll take it."
At first, he didn't know what to say. He had seen Pepper on the battlefield during the second fight against Thanos, then at Tony Stark's funeral but had always assumed she wouldn't want to have much to do with him, considering what the Winter Soldier did to Howard and Maria Stark. His thought must have also occurred to her because she looked at Happy who gave up his chair to Bucky and went to get another one. She smiled kindly at Bucky as he sat, then at Rebecca.
"You're confused that I'm here," she said. "Tony was never very good at admitting when he was wrong. Heaven knows, it was like pulling teeth even for me to get an apology from him. During the Blip he found a lot of information about what was done to you, and the fight you put up constantly to resist HYDRA's programming. With all that happened to you this past while, with Ross and Fontaine trying to force you back into that life I may have provided the information Tony uncovered to Rhodey and your lawyer."
"You? You did that for me?" asked Bucky, his face turning hot as it coloured pink. "Why?"
"Look at you," she replied. "Ever since we defeated Thanos you've done everything that was asked of you, and more to make amends for crimes that you, Bucky Barnes, were not responsible for. Not only that, but you also got on with living, getting a real job, taking care of your sister, Rebecca, finding love, and a place in this community that values you."
He was aware that Amina was standing there, long past the time she should have returned home after her shift. She smiled at Bucky with glistening eyes and nodded at him. He tried to clamp his jaw down, to force back the emotions that were bubbling up inside of him. Pepper said nothing, allowing him the time to speak.
"I still don't understand why you're here, in our living room," he finally choked out. "Why would you help me?"
"Because you're a good man, who deserves a lifetime of happiness," she answered, her own eyes becoming glassy. "I'm in a position to help with that and I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you sooner, when you were struggling and trying so hard to take care of your responsibilities." She glanced at Rebecca. "So, allow me to help plan your wedding, as I do have some organizational skills, having been Tony Stark's personal assistant for far too long. On his behalf, let me begin to make amends to someone who deserves it." Morgan tugged on her mother's sleeve and whispered, making Pepper smile. "Morgan wants to know if your arm hurts. She knows that Tony destroyed your other one."
Bucky reached into his pocket for his handkerchief and dabbed his eyes, then wiped his nose. Smiling, he looked at the dark-haired girl.
"No, not anymore. The people in Wakanda gave me a really good arm and took all the pain away."
"Can I see it?" she asked sweetly. "I build Lego robots."
Another smile crossed his face, and he took his jacket off then ran his long sleeve up past his elbow. Morgan shyly approached him and touched it gently with her fingertips, tracing the seams in the different segments. He explained how it was full of electronics and computer circuitry that he really didn't understand but it worked very much like a real arm and hand. She nodded.
"My dad would think this was cool," she said. "Can I come to your wedding?"
He looked at Tracey, who smiled and nodded. "Of course, you and your mother will both be invited, Happy too. There will be lots of kids there, music, and dancing, and people from many different countries."
"I heard about the newcomer centre," said Pepper. "Rebecca told me how much they helped you both when you needed caregivers. I'm always looking for charitable organizations to support."
"Stay for dinner," said Bucky, impulsively. "I'm a pretty good cook and we can talk about the centre, and the wedding."
"He is a good cook," agreed Rebecca. "You're more than welcome."
"Only if we can help," replied Pepper. "It's not cheeseburgers, is it?"
Happy blushed while Morgan giggled making Bucky wonder if that was a private joke. Amina took her leave after thanking Pepper for offering to support the newcomer centre, inviting her to visit and see for herself how it had changed many refugees' lives. Bucky walked her to the door and looked at this small woman from the middle of Africa who meant so much to them.
"Am I allowed to hug you?" he asked, already knowing the answer.
"It's not really permitted since you aren't my husband," she smiled, "but you are like my brother ... my brother from another mother." She giggled at her joke. "Your family is my American family. You've been through so much and you never gave up. Miss Tracey already asked if we would come to the wedding. It would be a privilege to share that day with you. Baraka Allahu fik, Mr. Bucky. May Allah bless you."
"Baraka Allahu fik, Amina Nyok. Thank you."
She bowed her head then stepped down and began her walk to the nearby bus stop. He watched her from the steps, making sure she got on the bus okay before he turned back to the house and helped prepare supper. Pepper, Morgan and Happy stayed for several hours talking about the newcomer's centre, and what the couple wanted for their wedding. When Morgan fell asleep on the couch with her head in Rebecca's lap and Alley Cat curled up in her arms Pepper decided it was time for them to go. Happy gently lifted the little girl up and carried her out to the limousine.
"So, Tracey, Rebecca and I will go dress shopping this weekend," confirmed Pepper, "while Bucky and Sam go looking for tuxedos. Then we'll meet up and visit the newcomer centre to discuss the reception. Happy will arrange transportation for the wedding party. You'll figure out where the ceremony is to be held?"
Bucky nodded. "We'll work on the guest list this week and get that to you before the weekend," he said. "Your printer can get them done quickly so we can address them and mail them out."
There was a serious hiccup when a broken water main flooded the newcomer building just days later. It meant they would be unable to hold any event there before Christmas so after meeting up on the weekend they reluctantly went looking for a new venue. Fortunately, with Pepper Stark on it she learned that a unique facility was available the first weekend of December. A heritage building, near the Williamsburg Bridge, the Weylin was originally the Williamsburg Savings Bank when it was built in 1875. Both Bucky and Rebecca remembered it being a bank back in the day. As they toured the grand space the brother and sister looked at each other then Bucky turned to Tracey for her take on it. After they whispered together Bucky looked at Pepper with regret.
"It's beautiful but it's much too grand for us," he said. "I'm a dock worker, Tracey's a public health nurse; it isn't really us."
Smiling kindly Pepper accepted that then took them to her second choice, the Metropolitan Ballroom. They had a cancellation on Thanksgiving weekend and a bonus to using them was they could provide a halal menu for the Muslim guests that would be invited. As they toured the space while it was being prepared for a wedding later in the day, they still found it quite grand but with lower ceilings it seemed a little more cosy to them. The manager assured them they could make it fit their own style. Agreeing to hold the ceremony and the reception there the contract was signed and the couple, with Pepper's help, made an appointment to visit during the week to finalize the décor, flowers, and menu.
After being dropped off back at home Rebecca decided to have a nap. Before she went to her room, she asked Sam to briefly speak privately. Bucky looked at his friend and best man, wondering what he and his sister had cooked up, but Sam refused to say anything without Rebecca present. While she slept Sam went out with Janice and came back with the makings for jambalaya, beginning to prepare it with her and Tracey's help.
Once Rebecca got up Bucky cornered his sister in the dining room. "What are you and Sam planning?" he demanded. "It better not be a surprise party."
"What if it is?" she countered back. "You've done so much for me and now I want to do something nice for you. Won't you let me?"
She gave Sam a little wink when she said this to Bucky.
"Yes, I don't mind you doing things for me but I just need to know what's going to happen so I can prepare for it," he replied. "I'm a private man."
"You're a grumpy old man," she chirped back. "What do you say, Sam? Should we let the cat out of the bag?"
"Sure, it's not like we haven't brought it up before," replied Sam, grinning as he cooked in the kitchen.
"I used our little emergency fund to book a blues club and band for tonight," said Rebecca, standing unaided in front of her brother and looking defiantly up at him. "We invited anyone who wanted to help celebrate your engagement. I figured now that you're a millionaire we could splurge a little and have some fun. Sam and Pepper arranged it, arranged the limousine and we're going in style."
Bucky looked down on his white-haired younger sister, caught between amusement and irritation. Then he bent over and hugged her, easily picking her up so her face was level with his.
"I do love you," he said, his voice catching. "It's a nice surprise and we'll have a great time with friends." Kissing her on the cheek he hugged her again and let her down gently. He noticed Sam grinning like a demon at him. "Don't you start. Rebecca gets a pass because she's my little sister and I love her."
"You love me, too, Buck, admit it," said Sam, still grinning. "I'm your best friend and you would do anything for me if I needed it."
A scowl crossed Bucky's face that didn't fool anyone, and Tracey hugged him, kissing him on the cheek. She went back to helping Sam with the jambalaya, both her and her mother listening carefully as he walked them through it. Rebecca put some music on and swayed in the living room alone before reaching out for Bucky.
"Dance with me like you used to when I was a girl," she said, laughing.
"You used to stand on my feet," he said, taking her hands in his, then positioning her so her feet were on his. "You're heavy."
"You're a super soldier and can handle it," she retorted. "Humour me." He looked at her with amusement again, but concern must have shown on his face as she looked up at him. "I feel good. Really, I'm ready to cut a rug, boogie down, trip the light fantastic."
Bucky smirked but kept dancing with his sister. The three in the kitchen came out to watch and Tracey snapped some pictures on her phone.
"You going to dance with me tonight, Rebecca?" asked Sam. "I'm not taking no for an answer."
"Sam, I'll dance as much as I can for as long as I feel the music," she replied. "I want to celebrate having my brother again, him finding someone wonderful to spend his life with, good friends, life, all of it. What did Auntie Mame say in the movie? Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death. Well, tonight we feast."
Everybody laughed in agreement and when Bucky's eyes met Tracey's he knew by the way her eyes sparkled that he wanted to make love with her that night. At that moment, dancing with his sister, his best friend and future mother-in-law watching, and seeing the woman he loved returning that love in her eyes, he felt like the luckiest man in the world.
Sam's jambalaya was a big hit; every bit of it eaten and enjoyed immensely. After cleaning up they all got ready for their night on the town. Bucky wore his grey suit and white shirt, while Tracey wore a blue dress that Bucky couldn't help but bite his lower lip when he saw her in it. Janice looked years younger in her navy-blue dress, which almost matched Sam's suit. Rebecca, with Tracey's assistance, came out dressed to kill, in a red lace dress with sequins that accentuated her white hair.
"Wow," said Sam. "You looking to find a boyfriend with that dress, Rebecca?"
"As long as he can keep up with me," she laughed. "I feel young tonight. If he's not over 50, I'm good."
Bucky smirked and his sister tapped him on the arm. He put his hands up in mock surrender then kissed her on the cheek. She was on fire, and it was fun to see her like this. The doorbell rang to reveal their limousine driver at the door. Sam and Bucky helped the ladies on with their coats then Rebecca waved off Bucky's offer to carry her out and instead walked down the steps on driver's arm to the limousine, charming him in the process. He took them to a hole in the wall club in Williamsburg, which had a "Closed for a private party" sign on the door. When they were let inside there were already a number of people there; Rhodes, Torres and his girlfriend, Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Wong, dressed in his traditional robes, Marie Peters and a couple of Tracey's nurse friends with their escorts, Rick from the docks, as well as several guys from Bucky's crew. A few minutes after they entered Thor came in, followed by Maria Hill, Clint Barton, and surprisingly to Bucky, Peter Parker and Kate Bishop.
"I thought you were keeping under the radar," Bucky said to Peter.
"I'm not wanted or anything," said the young man. "I'm really happy for you, Bucky. You deserve it all. I don't think you've met Kate, yet. She's the new Hawkeye."
Bucky shook her hand, while she looked a bit starstruck at the other Avengers that were there. She had been contacted by Rhodes already but with the team still forming she hadn't gone on a mission yet. Rhodes came over to them but was distracted by Tracey's mother, Janice. Leaning towards her he kissed her on the cheek.
"It's nice to see you again," he said to her. "You look amazing tonight. We are going to dance, right?"
"I was hoping," she smiled at him. "I wouldn't mind a drink."
Giving her his arm Rhodes led her to the bar and they began talking. Bucky looked at Tracey and shrugged then they and Rebecca were shown to a booth where they could see everything. Sam excused himself and went up to the stage, taking the mike.
"Well, there are a few more people still to come but we're going to get started because the guests of honour are here. Tonight, we're celebrating the engagement of our friends Bucky Barnes and Tracey Harris. They're getting married Thanksgiving weekend because Tracey said she would marry Bucky in a New York minute and he decided to get it done before she could change her mind." There were hoots and hollers while everyone clapped. "Also with us tonight is the lovely Rebecca Barnes Proctor, Bucky's younger sister, who at 94 years of age decided she wanted to have a party to celebrate him finding someone willing to put up with her grumpy older brother." Bucky shook his head but he was smiling and Rebecca took his hand, squeezing it. "In all seriousness, this is a special night for Bucky and Tracey. They were fortunate enough to find each other in this big city. Right from the start others could see what was happening between them. If there are two people who are made for each other it's them. We all wish them happiness and a long life together. You were given two drink tickets when you arrived. The first two drinks are on your hosts but it's a cash bar after. Drink responsibly and don't drink and drive after. Let's get the music going and the party started."
The band, at least a dozen musicians, crammed onto the stage and the piano player took the mike as he sat on his bench looking out at everyone.
"So, I got a call a week or so ago, asking if I could round up enough musicians to do some big band classics, plus some newer blues and jazz that people could dance to," he began. "That's kind of a tall order so I asked what the event was. An engagement celebration, I was told. Okay, what person getting engaged in 2024 would want stuff from the 1930s and 40s to mark their engagement? The man on the other end of the line said Bucky Barnes, born in 1917, a certified blues and jazz fan who actually saw some legends perform live back in the day. I do like a challenge so I pulled some friends together and we're going to do our best to pay homage to the acts you loved so much back then. Feel free to dance as this is a party. We'll start off with some Benny Goodman, Stomping at the Savoy."
Bucky had a big grin on his face and turned to Tracey as the band started. "Darlin', you have to dance this with me. I'll keep it simple but I can't sit if this is playing."
She put her hand out and Bucky led her to the floor then began showing everyone what he hadn't done in public for 80 years. As others braved the floor Bucky showed them how it was done in his day, bringing whistles and cheers as he twirled Tracey around the small floor. When the song ended he shook the hands of the musicians at the front, telling them it was perfect. They got into some Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Harry James, and other songs that Bucky remembered from his younger years. Sam got Rebecca up for a couple of slower songs, as did Bucky and Joaquin. Rhodey danced a lot with Janice and even the younger people got into it, trying to emulate Bucky's moves. As more guests arrived, including several from the newcomer's centre, the place was packed, the drinks flowed, and a steady stream of finger foods found their way onto people's tables. There was laughter, more dancing, and a lot of visiting between the different friends that Bucky realized had been made since Tracey came into their lives and reached out to a group of strangers for their help.
At midnight Rebecca finally admitted she had enough and the party began to wind down. Before the last song was played, Bucky came up on the stage, which in itself was an unusual thing. He pulled Tracey up with him and looked emotionally at everyone who was there.
"In about 5 weeks this lovely lady and I are going to get married," he said. "I hope the party then is as good as the party tonight has been. I didn't know I had this many friends."
"I came for the free drinks and music," yelled someone, and everyone, including Bucky laughed.
"It's been great, hasn't it? Are you guys playing my wedding?" The piano player gave him a thumbs up and Bucky reached over to high five him, gently. "I look forward to it. Thank you all for coming. Take care getting home and we'll see most of you at the wedding on Thanksgiving weekend. Tracey, do you want to say anything?"
"No," she said, to laughter from everyone. "I'm just here because I fell in love with some guy who likes old music."
Bucky kissed her passionately, starting up the hooting and hollering from the guests again. As the band began to play Goodnight Irene he helped her off the stage and danced with her to the last song on the packed dance floor. It still took a while for the club to clear and to be safe Bucky carried Rebecca in his arms to the limousine. He sat in between her and Tracey, with his arms around both their shoulders. Sam and Janice sat across from them as Bucky looked at Tracey with a soft smile, whispering occasionally into her ear then kissing her neck. With a sudden realization, Sam understood the situation and whispered into Janice's ear that she should wear ear plugs when she went to bed. He shifted his gaze to Bucky and Tracey which made her mother smile and she nodded in understanding. Then Janice leaned forward and touched Bucky's knee.
"Rebecca and I have talked," she said. "I'd like to stay while you two have your honeymoon so I can be there with your sister. You won't have to worry about her. Between me and her care aides she'll be well looked after."
"Thank you," he said. "I was going to ask. It's very kind of you."
"No, it's the least I can do for you taking me in," she said. "I've had more life in the last month than I've had in years."
When they got to the house Bucky carried Rebecca into her bedroom, followed by Tracey and Janice, who took over getting her ready for bed. She was almost asleep by the time they brought her back from the bathroom and put her nightgown on her. Sleepily, she laid under her covers as Bucky sat on the edge of the bed and caressed her hair with his large hand.
"Thank you," he said softly. "That was the most fun I've had since I was a young man. I love you so much." His emotions grew full as he tried to stem them from overwhelming him. "I wish we had more years together. You are the best sister anyone could ever have."
"I know, me too," she whispered. "But we have each other now and you've been wonderful to me. Now give me a kiss and let me sleep. I love you, Bucky."
Smiling, he bent over and kissed Rebecca tenderly on the forehead. Then he tucked her in again and turned off the light before closing the door. Tracey went to change while Bucky locked up. Sam and Janice had already gone downstairs to their beds. When he entered the bedroom Tracey was in bed, sitting up with just the sheet covering her. Her bare shoulders drew Bucky's attention and he took his suit off, hanging it up, then unbuttoned his shirt, draping it over the chair, in the hope that Tracey would wear it after. His briefs came off and he climbed onto the bed laying next to her, propped on his elbow and reaching with his right hand to touch her cheek. Lying down on her side she looked at him with her soft brown eyes. With tenderness he lowered his lips to hers and kissed her softly, pulling her body under the sheets closer to his body above the sheets. Slowly she pushed the sheet down and laid under him, feeling his hard cock on her already wet folds.
"Do you trust me?" he whispered. "I want to try something."
"Yes," she whispered back.
"Get on your hands and knees ... please."
Tracey moved to the position he asked for, feeling both anticipation and anxiety. Bucky reached for the bottle of lubricant and smoothed some over his rock hard cock. Lining up behind her he gently inserted himself in slowly until he was fully in.
"You won't hurt me, will you?" There was some nervousness in her voice as they usually did oral first to help when he entered her.
He ran his hands over her back then leaned over and kissed her shoulder. "No, I'm going to take care of you," he replied. "But if it does I'll stop, I promise."
Holding her hips close to his he asked her to sit up until her back touched his chest. She gasped as she felt the pressure of him fully in her.
"You okay?" he asked, his mouth right beside her ear. "You feel incredible like this. I can kiss your neck and shoulders from here. You can move my hands wherever you want. While I'm in you I'm going to touch you everywhere."
He began to move, thrusting himself up into her while one hand fondled her breast and the other reached down to her folds. Tracey placed her hands on his and moved with him, feeling the pleasure as she felt him deep within her. In his arms she felt supported and she laid her head back on his shoulder opening her neck to him. Taking his cue from that he mouthed her neck, focusing on the sensitive spot under her ear. Within minutes Bucky could tell by her breathing and heart rate that she was aroused and he breathed softly into her ear.
"You're making me hot inside. I'm so close but I want to hear you and feel your body as you come. Can you do that, angel?"
She moaned and began grasping his hands, making his hand movements more pronounced and intense. He began rolling her already hard nipple between his thumb and forefinger. As he went harder and faster into her the sounds coming out of her throat grew louder and more desperate. Placing his mouth next to her ear he breathed into it before running his mouth down her neck to her shoulder. With a cry she suddenly stopped then pushed back against him several times, groaning in ecstasy as he kept rubbing her clitoris. With a gentle nudge she moved his hand from it, bringing it up to her other breast and he massaged them as he kept thrusting. His own orgasm only took a few more seconds and he held her tight as he thrust several times before he finished. Gently he enveloped her in his arms, caressing her breasts and body as he kissed her neck. When he released her she went down on all fours and he pulled out, still supporting her as she dropped flat onto her stomach. Placing himself beside her he stroked her back until she rolled onto her side.
"I never did that before," she said. "It was intense."
"Did you like it?" She nodded. "So did I. Thank you for trusting me."
"Always," whispered Tracey. "I trust you with my life, Bucky."
They kissed again, languidly, their tongues exploring sensuously before breaking apart. Getting up, Tracey put Bucky's shirt on and went to the bathroom to clean up before returning back and getting under the covers with him. After Bucky turned out the light Tracey curled up with her head on his shoulder, her hand over his body and one leg over his thigh. He pressed his lips into her hair and kissed her on the side of the head, murmuring her name. Then they both closed their eyes, secure in the arms of the one they loved more than anyone or anything.
