The Myth of Dreamless Sleep
Consciousness never "switches off" because it isn't generated by the brain. Its sensory inputs can be switched off - during sleep or general anesthesia, for instance - but your consciousness is still there. For example, a small but consistent number of patients report out-of-body experiences (OOBEs) or near-death experiences (NDEs) while under general anesthesia.

Just had the strangest series of nightmares where each one was like, a flash game. The scariest one was called “where are you, Alec” where I was trapped in this time loop, doomed to die until the loop deemed me worthy of the cure for the disease that was infecting the world. Except, the man causing the disease was hunting me down.
Some of the scenarios in the loop: I was in a compound of uninfected people but we were curious about what was beyond the fences. We started tossing things over to see what would happen. Then, a man hopped the fence. I immediately tried to escape because I knew deep down he was a bad bad person. I left the compound running full tilt but he was easily keeping pace right beside me, grinning with huge eyes. I can’t remember how that loop ended.
Another one was me running from someone and trying to make it to my home base. I made it, but I ran into the wrong room (a tiny, cramped space) and the person chasing me ran into the room I was trying to get into. I was stuck in that tiny room, holding the flimsy, non-latching door shut. For eight years.
The first one was me as an exchange student into a Japanese class. It was fairly normal at first, but there was this baby that kept appearing, and I had to take care of it even though it was getting sicker and sicker. This wasn’t my baby, I didn’t know whose baby it was. The last thing I remember from that loop is the baby puking up green mush all over the cafeteria floor.
Eventually I was “deemed worthy” to gain access to the cure. There was a car that held the last remaining cure, which appeared speeding past me going the other direction. I then had to chase the car until I caught up to it, through all these obstacles (people, off road, lookalikes, etc.) until I finally caught it.
The cure was in this half empty water bottle, a powder. I shook it to mix it all up and drank half of it - it was NASTY. It tasted like carbonated water and salt and bittering agent. I remember thinking it could be a trap and that this was the disease, that I was going to become infected.
And then the man showed up right in front of my car. He was grinning, enveloped in this static purple cloud. The type of grin that you just know means this person wants to hurt you, was looking for you just to torture you. I clenched my eyes shut and the whole world turned into that purple static, the man laughing as everything turned to chaos-
And then it stopped! And it was peaceful, a silent world with this gorgeous nature view and everything. I didn’t feel relieved (I had just spent like DECADES going through this time loop) but I knew it was over.
And then it all snapped to black and I heard the man cackling. He said “Where are you, Alec?” And then I woke up.
There were another couple, this one where I had to enter a hotel room and wait until the chairs in the room stopped moving before I moved in to put them back. If I moved too early, this tall (7’ or taller) lady with long black hair and grey skin, unblinking eyes and a straight face, would come out from the darkness moving just a little too fast to be human and grab me. If I looked away from her face I would lose. I couldn’t stop myself, though, because she was so fucking scary. That nightmare only ended when I finally slapped her, and my phone alarm went off.
There was one where I was trying to convince this group of villains that I belonged with them, that I was one of them. There was all this weird shit going on where we had to blow people up, steal shit, all that kind of stuff, to avoid being sent to hell - which was an actual place, where you would be like, air fried or some shit over and over and over again. Brutal and bad. I remember the person who’d been there explaining that it was like your outside became brittle and dry while your insides turned to soup and you just kept shrinking in this agonizing, unending heat, until you ceased to exist. And then they brought you back to do it all over again. We were trying to steal stuff from the store to replace other shit so we could trick the other villains into sending someone else to hell in our places, because we were the ones who’d killed their leader.
There was another flash game type thing but I was frantic during it because the last dream of the lady in the hotel room so I don’t remember the objective, only that I had to stack things in a toilet and I was locked in a handicap bathroom stall. I was so scared to leave the stall that even after I “won” the game, I just started sobbing and wouldn’t leave. That was the last one before I woke up.
#nightmares#hey brain why the fuck did you do that#I’m going to be thinking of where are you Alec for WEEKS#hiding under my blankets even though I’m supposed to leave for work in 4 minutes because. I am afeared.#why is it I always have my most vivid dreams/nightmares in the hour between my first alarm going off and my final one#but only after I’ve woken up a few hours too early and tossed and turned until I went back to sleep#it’s like I experience no REM and then get DROP KICKED into it only after ~1.5 hours of not getting back to sleep#GAH#so anyway. haha. fuck you purple cloud man you fucking freak

Can Binaural Beats Really Help You Achieve Lucid Dreams?
Binaural beats have gained significant attention for their potential to influence mental states, relaxation, and even lucid dreaming. By using subtle auditory illusions that the brain interprets as a rhythmic beat, binaural beats can guide the mind into specific brainwave states associated with REM sleep, dream recall, and heightened awareness. For those looking to enhance their lucid dreaming…

hi maeeee!! can i request a poly! marauders where maybe reader is fighting with only one them and the others are shocked when they find out and try their very best to fix it even though things are quite tense? thanks maeeeee ilyyyy💐💐💐
Thanks for your patience with this one angel! It's not as angsty as I planned when I started writing it, but I hope you enjoy it <3
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1.8k words
It’s James who finds you this time. You’re curled up in a corner of the couch, pretending to read whilst secretly feeling sorry for yourself. Your boyfriend sits next to you, touching your shoulder so that you turn to him for a kiss.
“Still upset?” he asks after a peck.
You ignore the complicated, knotty feeling that makes itself known in your chest. “Not at you.”
“No, I know.” James smiles a little, gifting you another kiss. “I’d be coming in here with my tail between my legs if you were. I’d hate to be on the wrong side of either you or Rem’s wrath.”
You stay quiet. You wouldn’t go so far as to call what you’re feeling wrath—that seems a tad dramatic to describe the low flame of vexation you’ve been burning for your tallest boyfriend—but you don’t feel like opening yourself up to the subject with James. You’ve already heard it from Sirius this morning.
“Angel.” James gives your shoulder a cajoling squeeze. “Come on, when are the two of you going to get past this? It’s very awkward sleeping in the same bed with two people who are quarreling, you know.”
“We sleep exactly the same as every other night.”
“There’s underlying tension,” he counters lightly. You roll your eyes, and James laughs. “Oi, don’t get cross with me now, too. I’m just telling you about my lived experience.” He leans his head on your shoulder, all sweetness and treachery. “You’re really not gonna forgive him? You know he’s gonna stick you with Sirius in the divorce.”
You huff a laugh. James grins up at you hopefully. You know there’s some sense to what he’s saying; one of you has to be the bigger person eventually. It had started small, a stupid disagreement, but you and Remus are each stubborn and petty enough to not want to admit where you were wrong. Now you’re more angry with him for being angry with you than for anything else.
When you think of his coldness to you—never mind the fact that you’ve been cold to him in turn—that flame of vexation burns a little brighter.
“I don’t know why you’re over here trying to convince me,” you tell James. “I won’t have any problem forgiving him if he actually apologizes.”
James sighs. You look down at your book to avoid his disappointment.
“Okay, then. But he does feel really bad, so you know. He’s in the bedroom with one of his headaches, and he asked if you were still upset with him.” You look up. James levels you with a weighted look. “Could probably really use a cuddle, if you two were on good terms.”
James is at least only somewhat smug when you abandon your book to go to the bedroom. You pass Sirius in the hall, who gives you a smile and a firm peck on the lips, likely having just left Remus himself. You enter the bedroom expecting to see the curtains drawn, lights off, and your poorly boyfriend in bed, but instead Remus is standing, well lit by the daylight streaming in through the windows, book tented on the bed still made from this morning. He appears as though he was just on his way out.
“Erm, hi,” he says, brows pulled together in the middle. He looks to be studying you. “Are you alright?”
“Fine,” you answer, bemused. “Are…are you?”
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?”
The door clicks shut behind you. You startle at the sound, not having closed it yourself. Then, you watch as a resigned sort of irritation comes over Remus’ features at the same time as it settles into you.
“Pricks.” He moves past you to the door, jiggling the handle. “It only locks from the inside, you twats.”
“Love you too,” comes Sirius’ voice. “You can come out after you kiss and make up.”
“And say you’re sorry!” adds James.
Remus scowls.
“Open it,” you tell him.
“What do you think I’m trying to do? One of them is holding it shut.”
“Let me try.”
“Be my guest.” Remus steps back, letting you have a go at the handle. By putting everything you have into it you manage to twist it, but you can’t get it open even an inch.
“Don’t hurt yourself, gorgeous.” Sirius sounds smug enough to make your face feel hot. “James is holding it on the other side here, a few more minutes and you’ll make him break a sweat.”
You let go of the handle with a huff, turning and stalking towards the bedroom window. You start moving the desk out of your way.
“Would you really rather climb out the window than be in a room with me?” asks Remus. You look over your shoulder, and he’s sitting on the bed, side-eyeing you with his back propped against the pillows.
“It’s not about you.” You shove your hip into the desk, budging it enough for you to get at the window latch. “They lied and made me feel all guilty just so they could lock us in here.”
“What’d they tell you?”
You try to get your fingernail behind the latch. “It doesn’t matter.”
“Sirius had me thinking you were quite upset.”
“Yeah, and probably that I was asking after you, right? James told me you had a bad headache.”
A chuckle. “That was enough to make you come in here looking so flustered?”
“My mistake,” you huff, but it turns to a short whimper when your nail breaks. “Christ, you’d think they’d make these easier to open. What if there was a fire?”
“Don’t go out the window,” Remus says calmly. “You’ll ruin your tights.”
You work another nail behind the latch. “I can’t just let them win.”
“Mm. That’s a bit of a problem for you, is it?”
A bitter coolness settles over you. You turn, crossing your arms. “Something to say?”
Remus picks up his book, cornering a page. “Just making an observation, is all.”
“Remus,” you say sternly. “Don’t act like you’re any better. You could’ve apologized at any time.”
Your boyfriend levels you with a look. “Would that really have made a difference?”
“Yes!”
“Honestly?” He looks like he doesn’t believe you. “All I have to do is say I’m sorry, and you’ll forget about all of this and be completely happy with me?”
You shake your head, bewildered. “…Yeah. I mean, I would want to know that you understood how you hurt my feelings, but yeah. Really, it’s not that complicated.”
Remus’ expression softens. “I do understand that, dove. Do you understand how you hurt mine?”
“I…” You find you can’t quite look at him. “I imagine it’s sort of similar. Because I’ve been cold to you.”
“And because you wouldn’t hear me out,” he says. It doesn’t sound like I told you so, not smug so much as gentle. “But it was a small thing to begin with, wasn’t it? I’m ready to be past it.”
You frown at him. “It’s not about the argument for me. I’m already past that, it’s just everything else.”
Remus considers you. “Would you come here, please?”
You swear you wouldn’t go if he didn’t sound so kind. But you find yourself with your legs curled underneath you on the bed in front of him, Remus coaxing your hands into his.
“I’m sorry I hurt your feelings,” he says sincerely, looking you in the eyes. “It was a silly argument, and I shouldn’t have been so stubborn.”
You chew the inside of your cheek, sizing up whether he means it. “I…also could have been less stubborn,” you admit begrudgingly. Your tone softens. “I’m sorry I hurt your feelings, too. I didn’t mean to.”
“I know, sweetheart.” Remus’ touch coasts from your hands up your arms as he pulls you closer to kiss your forehead. “Are we okay?”
“Yeah,” you say, mollified.
He smiles at you. “Hear that?” he says towards the door. “You can let us out now.”
There’s no response.
Remus frowns as you get out of bed, going to try the handle. The door comes open, revealing and empty hallway.
“Pricks,” Remus mutters.
You find your boyfriends in the living room, James flicking through channels on the telly while Sirius reads the back cover of your book. James notices you first.
“Oh, hello.” He grins at you as Sirius looks over. “All sorted, then?”
You’re half tempted to pretend you didn’t make up just to spite them. When you look over at Remus, you suspect he’s thinking the same thing.
“That was sort of mean, lying to me like that,” you say to James instead.
He looks a bit contrite, but Sirius says insouciantly, “You were never gonna do it by yourselves, babe. We weren’t ready to start divvying up the furniture because you wanted to have a row.”
You kiss your teeth. “I think I might be having a row with you now.”
“What, us?” James’ eyebrows rise above the frames of his glasses. “What for?”
“You lied to us both to make us feel bad,” Remus reminds him, “and then locked us in the bedroom.”
Sirius isn’t impressed. “Well, it wasn’t really locked, was it. If you’d gotten desperate, you could’ve taken it off the hinges. Or just checked again after a couple minutes.”
“She broke her nail trying to get the window open.”
You hold up your torn fingernail as proof. Sirius coos, reaching for your finger and bringing it to his lips while you scowl at him.
“Sorry, lovie. We had a plan to bring you food in a couple hours,” says James. “We were even going to let you out for bathroom breaks if you needed to go.”
“Really, you wrapped it up much quicker than we were expecting,” Sirius praises. He’s still holding your finger, drawing his thumb up and down the side in easy, consoling strokes. “We thought you’d ice each other out until supper at least. I’m quite proud of you.”
Remus scoffs.
“Oh, come now.” Sirius grins. “Give us a kiss.”
You roll your eyes but turn to Remus, extricating your finger from Sirius’ grasp to meet him in a chaste kiss.
The other boys cheer. “There we are!” James tilts his face up expectantly. “Now one for me.”
You and Remus exchange a look.
“No,” you say coolly, “I don’t think so.” The two of you go to sit on the far side of the couch, away from both Sirius and James with you curled against Remus’ side. He looks a tad smug as he puts his arm around you.
“Oi!” says Sirius. “Look what you’ve done, you’ve made James pull his sad puppy face. What do you have to say for yourselves?”
“You lied to us,” you say again, slowly, with emphasis, “and locked us in the bedroom.”
Sirius scoffs. “So dramatic.”
“Oh, that’s rich.”
“Will it help if we say sorry?” James asks meekly.
Remus looks at you. You shrug.
“Maybe,” he says. “You’re more than welcome to try and find out.”

Slashers with a sleepwalking s/o
AN: totally based off my personal experiences sleepwalking lol asked my friends and family what their favorite sleepwalking episode was.
Jason Voorhees 🏕
Jason is already paranoid AF about you unknowingly wandering into a trap during the day.
But the first time he comes across you in the woods at night? When you should be asleep?
He is not a happy man. Many thoughts run through his mind. Are you trying to leave him? Trying to get yourself hurt? Would you rather die then be with him?
It takes him a good while and a lot of explaining for him to understand what's happening. That your not intentionally doing this. Science shit™️
He sets up a system. Maybe a bell or two. Something loud to let him know where you are. Maybe some trip wires.
Strangest thing he's seen you do: He watched you eat a entire sleeve of saltines while standing in the shower.
Michael Myers 🎃
Michael's seen some shit. So this is nothing. All those years in Smiths Grove have prepared him for this. So you sleepwalk? Cool, his neighbor at Smiths Grove used to eat cockroachs.
That being said, the closer you're relationship grows, the more worried he becomes. What if you fall down the stairs? What if you wander into the road? What if, what if, what if??
He doesn't have the foresight to set up traps, like Jason does.
Uses his fucked up sleep schedule to his advantage and often stands over your sleeping body. Jumpscare.
Will definitely tie a bell on you while you sleep. Totally not a collar what are you saying? Don't make it kinky.
The strangest thing he's seen you do: Put all of the remotes in the refrigerator because they needed batteries.
Thomas Hewitt 🥩
Poor sweet man. You're going to give him a heart attack one of these days.
However, he's probably one of the more better prepared of the lot. His house is set up to keep people in and out. So there isn't much danger you can get into.
Unless he forgets to lock up the basement. Which has happened once. And only once. You were fairly unharmed if not a little traumatized.
Has taken to locking your bedroom door. Also installs like 10 latches. AND puts a bell on the doorknob. And maybe sometimes you.
Look, he's already scared of losing you to somebody else, he doesn't want to have to worry him losing you to you.
Strangest thing he's seen you do: Him, Monty and Hoyt sat and watched you stand in front of the sink for a hour and a half. Just standing there. Menacingly
Brahms Heelshire 🐀
Oh, poor baby is confused. Especially at the start of your situation-ship. You don't know he's there, you just think you're babysitting a doll for a sad old couple. Not their grown ass son who lives in the walls.
The first time Brahms finds you sleepwalking, he's pissed. You trying to leave him, he knows you are. But... did you just snore?? Wait, you're asleep. He feels a little better about the situation.
Until you start walking towards the stairs. Boy's never moved so fast in his life. He knows if he wakes you up it's game over. So he gives you a gentle nudge back to your room.
Now after you find about the rat man in the walls, things are different. Brahms, even in the deepest REM cycle, will never let you go. Man is a koala and you are the tree he's clinging to for dear life. It's almost impossible to escape his arms at night.
Almost makes you sleep in the walls instead of the bedroom so you're safer. Like ain't no way you're getting out of those without him waking up.
Strangest thing he's seen you do: Sat up in bed, complaining about the maracas in your mouth??? He cried.
Billy Lenz 🎄
World's worst caretaker 👑
Especially before yall start dating because, at that point in time, he's still trying to decide if he wants to kill you. He won't lie, he very briefly thought about pushing you down the stairs.
But? After you win him over? Yeah still kinda sucks ass at keeping you from hurting yourself. He'll keep you alive, mind you, just a little worse for wear.
He asked you once if he could tie you down in bed. You didn't like the look in his eyes so you declined. Billy pouted for the next three days.
TBH he might do it anyways. Look he's just trying to keep your silly little self safe, S/O. Get your mind out of the gutter. Haha, jk...unless 😏?
The strangest thing he's seen you do is eat a entire bag of gummy bears while standing outside. He joined you.
Vincent Sinclair 🖌
Another prepared king 👑
His workshop is dangerous. Upstairs is dangerous. The whole town is health code violation. And bby cannot stand the idea of you hurting yourself.
But other then the constant anxiety that you'll some how end up falling off the stairs or falling into the wax or the any other number of things his brain comes up with, he's very level-headed.
Child safety locks. He buys that shit in bulk.
But hey, gives him a excuse to hold you at night. (Vincent, they're literally your s/o)
The strangest thing he's seen you do is stand over Bo's bed, chanting tomato. Bo almost cried.
Bo Sinclair 🔧
Definition of "Look at that idiot...oh wait that's my idiot!"
Honestly, probably the worst. Not like 'let's you just walk around' worst, but more like 'Imma gonna chain you to the bed' worst.
Dude's so scared of losing you, pretty much the best thing that ever happened to him, that his willing to go to drastic matters to keep you safe.
Don't try to explain the science behind it, you'll only give him a migraine. Just let him keep you safe. K, bby?
Bo's gonna lose sleep some nights, he's that scared. No doubt you will wake up to the feeling of someone watching you. Just comfort him, ok?
Strangest thing he's seen you do is sit up in bed and start singing 'Livin La Vida Loca'
Asa Emory 🪲
Number one prepared king™️
I'm not saying he may or may not, kinda sorta perhaps placed cameras around your living situation before you two even began dating. But yeah he did.
So he knows all about the crazy shenanigans you are up to at night.
He reads the books, watching online lectures 👏all👏the👏research. You can bet your sweet ass he knows exactly how to wake you up in case of emergency.
In the same breath, despite how much he does love you, science. Prepare to be studied like a bug under a microscope.
Strangest thing he's seen you do is standing with the refrigerator doors open, telling him how much you love this show.
Norman Bates 🚿
My poor sweet innocent murder bby. He doesn't know what to do.
Yeah, keep you safe, he's got that much down. But at what cost?
The hotel looks like a a daycare center now. Baby proofing everywhere (ask him about getting locked out of the bathroom, it's funny)
Suggested a collar once as a joke, wasn't expecting you to agree. Got flustered. Dropped his cup, maybe got a bone.
Another koala sleeper, so good luck escaping his embrace. Will go as far as following you to the bathroom to make sure you're actually awake.
Strangest thing he's seen you do is sit down in a fake potted plant in the living room and talk about dinosaurs.

🪷 Unspoken Facts About the Void State 🍃

1. The Void State and Neuroplasticity
While many people focus on the metaphysical aspects, the void state may have a direct link to neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to rewire itself. The deep focus and detachment from external stimuli in the void can enhance your brain's capacity to form new neural pathways. This means that being in the void isn’t just about manifesting; it’s literally reshaping your mind to align with your desires on a neurological level (and even on a molecular/genetic level).
2. The Void’s Connection to Deep Sleep and Healing
The void state shares similarities with the brain activity observed during non-REM sleep, particularly in stages of deep rest. In this state, your body undergoes repair, and your brain consolidates memories. This suggests that entering the void might accelerate healing processes, as the state mimics the restorative effects of deep sleep while maintaining conscious awareness. Similar to meditation and hypnagogic states.
3. Time Perception in the Void
While in the void, many report losing track of time, but this isn't just a mental trick—it’s tied to how your brain processes sensory input. The void eliminates external stimuli like light, sound, and touch, which are essential for your brain’s internal clock. Without these cues, your sense of time becomes fluid, making hours feel like minutes or vice versa.
4. The Void and Quantum Coherence
The void state aligns intriguingly with concepts in quantum physics, particularly quantum coherence. In quantum systems, coherence describes a state where particles exist in a superposition of possibilities. Similarly, the void state places your mind in a "superposition," where you are simultaneously detached from reality yet capable of accessing infinite possibilities.
5. Entering the Void and Brainwave Frequencies
The void state is strongly associated with theta and delta brainwave states. Theta waves are linked to creativity, intuition, and deep meditation, while delta waves are tied to deep sleep and healing. The unique blend of these brainwaves during the void allows for heightened subconscious access and profound stillness simultaneously. Which is why it is recommended to use these frequencies!
6. Sensory Deprivation and the Void
The void state mirrors the effects of sensory deprivation. When external stimuli are lost, the brain compensates by enhancing internal awareness. This is why many people experience heightened clarity, vivid imagery/mental images, or even sensations of "oneness" while in the void. Essentially, your mind becomes the primary sensory environment and why you lose all of your senses.
7. The Void’s Link to Embryonic Consciousness
Some spiritual theorists compare the void state to the consciousness experienced in the womb. This hypothesis suggests that the void may feel so “pure” because it reflects the state of pre-birth awareness—where one exists in complete with nothingness and infinite potential. This also refers to pure consciousness being your home that you always return to.
8. The Void and Ego Dissolution
A lesser-discussed aspect of the void is its role in ego dissolution. In the void, your sense of self—the “I”—disappears. This detachment from ego allows you to manifest without the usual doubts, fears, or biases that come with personal identity, creating a direct connection between intention and reality. Hence the affirmation "I am" as there's nothing to become, only to "be".

When your Character is Sleep Deprived
Sleep Deprivation - occurs when you don’t routinely get sufficient sleep at night.
Seven to eight hours of quality sleep time is the baseline for most adults, yet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one third of American adults suffer from measurable sleep loss.
This lack of sleep can lead to disruptions in everyday life, from grogginess and delayed reaction times to serious medical conditions.
Causes of Sleep Deprivation
Many factors can prevent you from getting a good night's sleep. These include:
Sleep disorders: Certain conditions like sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome can interfere with healthy sleep.
Mental health conditions: Depression and anxiety can be sources of severe sleep deprivation.
External stimuli: Loud noises, bright lights, and hot temperatures can all prevent you from getting enough sleep.
Work schedules: Shift work at night can clash with your natural circadian rhythms and trigger sleep deprivation.
Physical activity: Exercise can inhibit sleep onset if scheduled too close to bedtime.
Effects of Sleep Deprivation
The consequences of sleep deprivation can be serious. A person operating on insufficient sleep may face increased risk of the following effects.
Daytime drowsiness: A poorly rested person can go through the day feeling groggy. This can lead to drowsy driving, car accidents, mental slip-ups, and poor cognition.
Microsleep: In addition to general drowsiness, a person running on very little sleep can experience microsleep—very short bursts of unconsciousness that feel like blacking out.
Mood swings: A person overcome by sleepiness may be cranky and irritable, and they may also experience headaches that further sour their mood.
Memory issues: Poor sleep patterns that cause a person to get less sleep have the potential to affect memory recall.
Tips for Avoiding Sleep Deprivation
To ensure you get consistent and sufficient sleep duration, consider the following strategies.
Stick to a bedtime routine. Sleep difficulties can stem from inconsistent schedules and routines. Improve your sleep hygiene by creating consistent sleep habits and a bedtime routine. This may involve stretching, an evening shower, or a cup of tea.
Avoid digital screens before bed. The blue light of electronics can mimic the effects of sunlight and prevent your body from entering its natural sleep cycle. Keep digital devices out of the bedroom, and when you must use them before bed, use a blue light filter that keeps the most disruptive light out of your eyes.
Consider a natural sleep remedy. Supplemental melatonin can help you fall asleep when your routine sleep schedule has been disrupted. Take care to not build reliance on sleep medications that may dampen the restorative effects of REM sleep and non-REM sleep.
Lower the temperature of your bedroom. A nighttime room temperature of 60 to 67 degrees Fahrenheit signals to your brain that it’s time to sleep.
Practice mindful relaxation techniques. A bedtime ritual of deep breathing exercises and slow exhales can promote progressive muscle relaxation. Mindfulness can also eliminate tension while allowing your body to drift into drowsiness and get enough hours of sleep.
Monitor your health conditions. Certain medical conditions, like sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome, can impair sleep onset and deprive you of sleep over the course of the night. Seek medical advice for handling such conditions, and work with your healthcare provider to develop treatment and coping strategies.

Info on void
According to ancient scriptures like the Mandukya Upanishad, Yoga Vasistha, and Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, maintaining awareness in deep sleep (non-REM sleep) is considered a direct doorway to pure consciousness (Turiya).
Deep Sleep & Pure Consciousness in Scriptures:
Mandukya Upanishad:
Describes four states of consciousness:
Waking (Jagrat)
Dreaming (Swapna)
Deep Sleep (Sushupti)
Turiya (Pure Consciousness, beyond all three)
Sushupti (deep sleep) is where the mind dissolves, and only the causal body remains. But if awareness is retained in this state, one enters Turiya, the state of absolute consciousness.
Yoga Vasistha:
States that the realized yogi remains fully aware even during deep sleep, experiencing an uninterrupted state of blissful consciousness.
Vijnana Bhairava Tantra:
Mentions techniques where one remains aware during sleep to transcend the gross mind and merge into Shiva-consciousness (pure awareness).
Scientific Parallel: Non-REM Sleep & Pure Awareness
In deep non-REM sleep, the thinking mind (ego/memory) shuts down, and only pure awareness remains.
If you can retain consciousness in this state, you experience pure being without thoughts—which aligns with what the scriptures call Turiya or Samadhi.
How to Experience This?
Cultivate awareness before sleep using meditation techniques like Yoga Nidra, Kriya Yoga, or mantra repetition.
Focus on the transition into sleep without losing awareness (a practice known as Yoga Nidra or conscious sleep).
Observe deep sleep from a detached state, remaining aware while the body fully rests.
Conclusion
So yes, if you stay aware in deep sleep, you are in a state of pure consciousness (Turiya). This is the highest state of self-realization, where you are beyond mind, body, and ego, resting in the universal awareness (Brahman/Shiva state).

You crept down the hall of the boy’s dormitory, checking over your shoulder to make sure you didn’t get caught. When you reached the door you knocked softly and waited. It opened to reveal Remus and he ushered you in quietly.
"Hey Remus.“ You said shrugging off your robe and tossing it on James bed. “Just us?” You said noticing the empty room around you.
“For a little yes. Everyone else went out to play Quidditch for a bit. How was your day?” He asked sitting on his bed, his eyes looking over your tiny sleeping shorts and skimpy tank top as you planted yourself next to him.
“Long day and I’m so tired but I got almost all of my course work that’s due finished. You?” You said reaching your arms above your head to stretch.
“Good on you. You do seem exhausted, would you like a back rub?” He offered innocently. You nodded.
“You know what that does sound nice, here let me lay down.” You said crawling to the head of the bed and laying on your stomach. Remus positioned himself above you and began working on your shoulders. His hands were warm and comforting, your body beginning to relax under his touch.
“As for my day it was just a lot of homework as well. I’m happy you stopped by though it always brightens my day.” He said slowly moving down to your lower back.
“Mmm you’re so sweet Rem.” You hummed, loosing focus as he began to work at your muscles. “Could you do my legs as well? Pretty please?”
“Well since you asked so nicely how could I say no.” He replied, moving down. His hands gently rubbed at the back of your lower thigh making its way up. Remus felt embarrassed, realizing he was semi hard from the close contact. It didn’t come as a surprise seeing as he’d found himself touching to the thought of you. His hands found their way to your upper thighs, his thumbs gently moving inward. You stayed quiet, feeling a little flutter in your stomach as his thumbs grazed over the thin fabric covering your cunt. It could have been an accident, but you wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t. You’d be a liar if you said you hadn’t always had a deep attraction to each of the boys. Remus adjusted to get more comfy, his erection briefly pressing into your leg.
“Could you go a little higher?” You asked, feigning ignorance. He said a small yes and you moved to open your legs wider. He swallowed hard and started to move his hands closer to your pussy. The pad of his thumb brushed under your shorts, his eyes widened when he felt how wet you were. For a moment he paused, thinking carefully about his next actions. Almost as to help encourage him you arched your back ever so slightly, giving him better access. He took the opportunity and moved your shorts to the side, gently pushing his fingers inside. You moaned and gripped the sheets.
“Are you sure this is okay?” He asked nervously, realizing his lack of experience meant he wasn’t quite used to taking the lead.
“Do I have to beg?” You joked, rolling your hips back to signal he should speed up. Your consent made him feel at ease so he did as you wanted and began pleasuring you. “Oh my god Remus.” He looked on in awe, admiring your body.
“Can you lay on your back for me?” He asked withdrawing his fingers. You whined and flipped over.
“Why’d you stop I was getting close?” You protested as you sat up to face him.
“Because I’ve been waiting to do this.” He said before catching your lips in a needy kiss. You slowly laid back, pulling him down with you. He held himself up with one hand while the other found its place between your legs again. In an instant his fingers were back inside of you, working desperately to get you off. You moaned into his mouth and grabbed a fist of his hair to pull him back.
“Please give me head.” You said watching his face light up. Without stopping his movements he moved down to level himself with your core. He pulled the shorts farther to the side and inhaled deeply. You smelled heavenly. You jumped at the feeling of his tongue finding your clit, clamping a hand over your mouth to muffle your cries. His tongue worked over the sensitive nub while his fingers curled in you. If you hadn’t been so engrossed in each other you might have heard the door open and shut, or the quiet ‘holy shit’ that fell from Sirius’ lips. He cleared his throat and you both shot up. Remus’ face flushed and you tried to stutter out an explanation. Sirius saw your faces and smirked.
“Oh no no. Don’t let me stop you. Seems like I’ve interrupted something.” He said casually kicking his shoes off and placing his things on his bed.
“I should go.” You said, face burning from embarrassment.
“I said continue.” Sirius said sitting on the bed closet to you. You and Remus looked between each other, both confused. “Oh don’t play coy Remus. Like we haven’t discussed this before.”
“Sirius not now-“
“Discussed what?” You asked cutting him off.
“About what we’d do to you if we ever got the chance.” He said casually. Your eyes widened, then darting to lock with Sirius’. His mouth was etched into a sly grin, seemly excited to finally tell you.
“Is that true Rem?” You asked turning back to him. He nodded meekly, afraid you’d be upset. To both of their surprise you reached out to palm Remus who was still aching to be touched. “Alright then. Show me what you guys talk about.” You said leaning in to kiss Remus again.
“That’s our girl.” Sirius said unbuckling his pants. You reached to do the same for Remus, freeing him from his confinements. You pulled away and gently laid him back, getting ready to give him head. As you leveled yourself with his cock you realized this might be a more difficult task than expected.
“Good God Remus you’re huge.” You exclaimed, earning a chuckle from both boys. Remus opened his mouth to answer but was cut short by the feeling of your tongue licking a thick stripe up the underside of his shaft. Sirius watched on quietly, slowly stroking himself at the sight. He figured it was best to give you two a moment to finish what you’d started. You inched your way down, only able to make it two thirds of the way down before he hit the back of your throat. You gagged and Remus groaned at the feeling. His hands tangled themselves in your hair to hold your head still while he started rocking his hips. You tried your best to breathe while he used your throat. A moan from Sirius encouraged you to keep going. Remus’ hips bucked and he pulled out of your mouth quickly.
“I was getting close. I’d like you to come to the edge of the bed.” He said breathlessly. You quickly got off him and got into position, resting your head to face Sirius. Remus wasted no time pulling down your shorts down and lining himself up. Sirius watched intently as your eyes rolled back, squealing from the feeling of Remus stretching you out. Once Remus had gotten as deep as he could he stayed still, giving you a moment to adjust. Then he began his slowly and steady strokes, grabbing your hips to keep you close. When Sirius saw a lazy smile on your face, lost in the feeling of his friend fucking you he decided it was time to join in. He stood up and stripped, finding his way behind Remus to look over you.
“You’re so gentle with her Lupin.“ He said snaking his arm around to grasp Remus’ throat. He shuddered at his touch. “Why don’t you go a little faster?” He suggested keeping his grip loose. Remus whimpered and obliged, snapping his hips forward and picking up his pace. You let out a loud moan and lifted your hips slightly to allow your hand to find your clit. Sirius leaned down to kiss Remus’ neck, suddenly tightening his hand around his throat. This drove him over the edge, his fingers digging into your skin as he started fucking you harder.
“Yes Remus right there!” You mewled, feeling your orgasm coming. Sirius parted from Remus just in time to look down and watch as you came. The sound of you calling his name sent him over the edge and he quickly pulled out, cum painting your backside. He slowly pulled out, Sirius turning him around to capture his lips in a kiss. You sat up and turned to looked back, having never known the extent of their relationship. ‘Makes sense’ you thought. Sirius broke away and turned to you. His hungry gaze raked over your body for a moment before he stepped forward. His presence was far more intense than Remus. He leaned down to kiss you.
“I need you to turn around for me.” He commanded. You nodded and quickly turned. Sirius guided you to lay face down ass up. The second he got into position he rammed his length into you. You yelped in surprise and lurched forward. Remus sat down next to you and gently pushed your hair from your face, his other hand wrapped around his cock. Sirius gripped your hips harshly and pinned you in place, unbothered by his friend’s cum coating his hands. He started thrusting, using you to pleasure himself. "You’re doing so good.“ He growled, unable to hold back. Your legs began to quake, still weak from the first round.
"You look so pretty (y/n).” Remus moaned. You just nodded weakly as Sirius brushed you g-spot again and again. He felt your walls getting tighter and chuckled.
“You’re gonna cum already?” Sirius teased.
“Mhm.” You moaned, beginning to rock your hips to meet him halfway.
“Ask for permission first.” Sirius replied.
“Huh?” You asked but as the last syllable left your mouth he brought his hand down to spank you.
“I said you need permission to cum.” He snarled, snapping his hips to thrust faster.
“May I please cum?” You begged, excited by the new experience.
“That’s better. Yes you can, but next time I won’t be so easy on you.” He purred. Remus stroked faster as he watched your legs give out. Sirius held you up to continue, feeling his own orgasm coming. He looked over to his friend and reached to caress his face. Remus eagerly moved forward to capture his lips. This was enough to help Sirius finish, hastily pulling out and cumming on the bed. His grip on you loosened and you let yourself collapse onto the bed, breathing hard.
For a moment you all sat without a word, just catching your breath. You broke the silence with a hearty laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Sirius asked lying down next to you looking up at the ceiling.
“Just wasn’t expecting this to ever happen.” You said rolling over to hug him. He pulled you close and kissed your forehead before you sat up.
“Me neither. Did you have fun?” Remus asked covering himself with a pillow. You nodded.
“Of course. So now what?” You asked looking back and forth between them.
“I don’t see why it has to be a one time thing.” Sirius said sitting up.
“It sure doesn’t.” You said with a cheeky smile. “I’d better get out of here and get cleaned up before everyone else gets back.” You said scooting forward and fixing your clothes. The boys saw you off and when they were finally alone they couldn’t help but recount the afternoon.

improving your memory
having a good memory is like having a personal archive of valuable information at your fingertips. it enhances efficiency by allowing you to recall facts, dates, and tasks quickly, making daily life and work more productive.
good memory also aids in learning, helping you retain knowledge and skills, which makes acquiring new information easier. it plays a crucial role in problem-solving by enabling you to draw from past experiences to tackle current issues.
additionally, remembering details about people—such as their names, interests, and past conversations—helps build and maintain strong relationships. keeping your memory sharp also has health benefits, as studies have shown it can delay cognitive decline and reduce the risk of conditions like dementia.
essentially, a good memory is a mental toolbox that equips you to handle life's challenges more effectively and can even help you stay organized and on top of things. improving your memory can be achieved through a combination of lifestyle changes and mental exercises.
below are some strategies:
stay mentally active: keeping your brain engaged is crucial for maintaining cognitive function. activities like solving puzzles, reading books, playing chess, or even learning a new language or musical instrument can create new neural pathways and enhance mental agility. continuous learning and challenging your mind can prevent cognitive decline and improve overall brain function.
get enough sleep: during sleep, your brain processes and consolidates information from the day. deep sleep stages, particularly REM sleep, are essential for memory consolidation. aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to ensure your brain gets the rest it needs to function optimally. establishing a regular sleep routine and creating a restful sleep environment can also improve sleep quality.
eat a balanced diet: nutrition plays a significant role in brain health. foods rich in antioxidants, such as berries, and those high in healthy fats, like nuts and avocados, can protect the brain from oxidative stress. omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are particularly beneficial for brain function. vitamins, especially vitamin E and B vitamins, are essential for maintaining cognitive health. staying hydrated is also important, as dehydration can affect cognitive abilities.
exercise regularly: physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, which can enhance memory and cognitive function. regular exercise promotes the growth of new brain cells and improves the connections between them. activities such as aerobic exercises, strength training, and even yoga can be beneficial. aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week to keep your brain healthy.
practice mindfulness and meditation: these techniques can help reduce stress, which is known to negatively impact memory. mindfulness and meditation encourage relaxation and focus, allowing your brain to function more efficiently. regular practice can increase grey matter in the brain, which is associated with improved memory and learning. incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine can help you stay present and retain information better.
stay organized: keeping your environment and tasks organized can significantly improve your ability to remember things. using tools like calendars, to-do lists, and notes can help you manage your time and responsibilities more effectively. breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps and setting reminders for important deadlines can also enhance your ability to remember and complete tasks.
limit sugar intake: high sugar consumption has been linked to cognitive decline and impaired memory function. excessive sugar intake can lead to inflammation and oxidative stress, which can damage brain cells. reducing your sugar intake and opting for healthier alternatives can help protect your brain and improve cognitive function over time.
stay socially active: engaging in social activities and maintaining relationships can stimulate your brain and keep it sharp. social interactions can provide mental stimulation and emotional support, both of which are important for brain health. joining clubs, volunteering, or simply spending time with friends and family can help improve your memory and overall cognitive function.
incorporating these strategies into your daily routine can help keep your brain healthy and improve your memory. consistency is key, so try to make these practices a regular part of your life.
i hope this post was helpful! 🫶nene
