i swear grian and scar are as crazy about each other as we are

i'm watching scott's most recent escape room video and i saw the void room and thought "huh, that's a grian thing to do" and then scars doing stuff, i expected him to call the button room a grian room but he saves his grian mention for the void room where he says "oh not the void. I've been in the void before. this is when grian appears and says- does something to me." does what to you? 🤨

but it isn't just scar that does this cause i stumbled across an old mcc vod and grian said "every alley in my mind leads to those aliens like scar with Disneyland" and scar was on an entirely different team or may not have been in that event at all (grian and scar in MCC is a whole thing, don't get me started on how grian wasn't playing in MCC 20 but dropped into scar's teams call just to gong them and got put on a team with scar both mccs after that) and will say things like "batman is my starwars"

they both just bring each other up when they're not around and it drives me nuts /pos

the way that whenever charles gets confronted by edwin or crystal, he gets angry at first but then he closes his eyes and looked down for like a moment and then he replies in a calm tone

i think thats why that blow up happens, because he trying to stay okay with crystal and edwin, he's trying to not get angry at him and i think that's why he blew up at the night nurse because now he had an excuse. but the thing is that he supposed to get angry with them, he's supposed to let out his feelings and sometimes a fight needs to happen for a person to realize when they've been trying to get through this whole time

so when he pauses with edwin after crying and being so, so tired, he's just like "i don't want to be a bad person." because he's been so angry throughout that case because those two boys were supposed to be the good guys, it wasn't supposed to be like that. it wasn't how stories get told.

so when edwin says, "you, charles rowland, are the best person i know." from him? he always gets light good jobs from edwin here and there and edwin talks about how their good together, but charles takes that as like "i have to be good. i have to" and it's his trauma response.

so hearing that from edwin, that he is good, the best person? it's what gets him out of his slump because yes, he's been to hell, he's heard all sorts of terrible things and seen terrible doings. it's true. even despite all that, edwin is very precise with his words, he means what he says, he knows why he's saying them. but sometimes he just assumes that there isn't any need to say them because charles should already know. edwin wants him around he doesn't keep him around, he's not even his best friend, he's just someone he knows that when he looks over his shoulder he'd be there.

I'm pissed because I am more on Shiv's side... but she did still fuck herself. Yes, her brothers shut her out of the company a few eps back, she's squirming her way back in but she's pulling for Matsson for no reason.

and when it came down to it.... would not risk Nate actually promising to fuck the deal. Not for the Whole of democracy! Like the rest of them she wants her cake and she wants to eat it too and would not give up the chance at power with Matsson even if it meant the election. Just like Kendall going with Mencken because he promised to fuck the deal, for all her hemming and hawing she made the exact same fucking call as Kendall did.

Roman was a particular pissbaby but Kendall and Shiv are the fucking same person. Pretending to be left-leaning but snakes in the fucking henhouse, because when the going gets tough they put the company first

Since I saw folks talking about fruit flies in a server I'm in, and it's getting to that time of year for them in the Northern hemisphere, I figured I'd share the one thing I've found that almost entirely takes care of the problem. Beyond the whole "keep your kitchen clean, thoroughly wash/rinse out recycling, and wash produce when you get it home" stuff.

That is to make a fruit fly trap (or as my husband calls it a "death bath" lol). In a container that's on the shallow side, put a drop or two of liquid dish soap (for hand washing dishes) or hand soap, then add enough apple cider vinegar to come up about 1/4 inch or 1/2 cm up the side of the container. Your kitchen will smell like vinegar, and you'll have to change it out every couple of days. But since we've been doing this we've had almost zero issues with fruit flies!

oh yeah part of why myeol is so interesting is that he's a survivalist with one indulgence (dog) so it's so fascinating to see phill worm his way into myeol's good graces by being pliable in the way dogs are and getting him more open to more morally ambiguous lines of thought by invoking dogs' best interests (like when he was sooooo happy when they broke that one guy's fingers together or assuaging myeol's feelings about being protected after the bomb went off by reminding him of papillon)

In the same way it’s crazy looking back at phill bending myeols finger backwards and being like We gotta kill the kid and thinking he could get away with that shit it’s also interesting seeing myeol go from NO KILLING AT ALL OR I WALK! to Ok phill torture this guy cuz he kicked a doggy. 🫡

what's funny to me about Death Note is how casually the authors will drop the most insane lore you've ever heard and then just move on as if it never happened. like here's a girl whose parents were killed in front of her and who also would have been murdered by a crazed fan if he hadn't mysteriously dropped dead before her eyes. yes we WILL proceed to call her stupid and annoying for the rest of the series and never address how this affected her. btw did we ever mention that L is an orphan who has been working as a detective since he was 10? and that the orphanage where he grew up is now dedicated to raising child prodigies on the principle that their entire existence is worthless if they can't live up to L's standard? no? well he's dead now so here are his successors. yeah one of them joined the mafia at 17 and commits violent crimes because he believes it's the only way to prove that he's worth anything. yeah the other one had to take on the only case L couldn't solve entirely from scratch at age 13 with no prior detective experience. no the implications of this won't be addressed. also one of the new anti-Kira investigators has a vendetta against Kira because someone close to her was killed by him. will that ever be explored in canon, you ask? well you're not going to believe this-
