mimkyu! ever since i saw that little freak i just fell in love with it it's so tragic... it wants to be loved but its true appearance is so ghastly that you'll actually die if you see it so it's forced to pretend to be someone it's not because its real self is TERRIFYING beyond comprehension.
it will work tirelessly to repair its disguise while CRYING because it's so hard. i'm a supporter of mimikyu wrongs so i think it's perfectly ok that it will violently despise the person who busted its disguise i mean you literally make it go through the effort of fixing its disguise again i think it's only fair that it hunts you down in an effort to kill you for the rest of its life.

If they allow me to catch Mimikyu in Z-A, I’m giving it a 5-star review. The game could have me clip through the walls but as long as I get to make my team with Mimikyu in it, I will be a happy man.

If you're taking requests, I love Drayton (favorite Dragon boy) and as a Fairy trainer, I'm super curious what the romantic (and friend) dynamics would be with him. So, I guess I'm asking for Drayton x Fairy reader content? 😅🩷
This gives me opposites attract vibes. The sweet Fairy type dynamic compared to Drayton being Drayton is a vibe I can get behind!
Pixie Wings | Drayton x Reader (Fairy specialist)
Pokémon Scarlett and Violet Indigo Disk DLC Spoilers ahead!
After growing up together traveling the unnova region side by side; when Drayton moved away to blueberry academy, he felt a small part of him was left behind. But fate seemed to have other ideas when a familiar face shows up to brighten his day.
Warnings: Lots of fluff with a little bit of Lacey hate
SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers for The Indigo Disk Ending
Why is Alcremie so cute? Like look at that lil guy, lil buddy so happy to be here 💗
Today was the day, the day you would travel to the blueberry academy. The school upon the sea! For the longest time, you had spent all of your time inside a stupid office building of a school. So when one of your closest friends and yourself both received letters of enrolment to the school; the stars aligned again! Though that didn’t stop the waves of nerves rushing over you. Seems you weren’t the only one feeling them, either.
Sitting on the plane, the nerves settled deeper and deeper in your gut as the mixture of excitement and dread flooded your every thought. Questions rolling around like the ocean tide below you, covering your mind like a cloud does the sun.
“What's got you so quiet?” A voice piped up from your side, “Nerves getting the better of you?”
With a deep sigh, you scrunch your noise, fingers placed on the bridge of it. “Sorry, sorry, I just keep thinking about everything that's going to happen when we arrive. I've never gone to a place like this. Sylveon was acting up all morning too, she isn’t much of a flying fan.”
“I get that, Mimikyu is the same, I can feel his ball shaking in my pocket.” A laugh escaped the both of you as the small talk wafted the clouds away from your mind. “I know you are going to be fine! You're the best damn fairy type trainer I know, and I know a lot of them! I went to a prep school for two years. You don’t get more fairy type than a blonde teen obsessed with make up.”
“That is very true.” The smile on your lips grew bigger as you leaned back into the plane seat, looking out the window to see your destination below. “I wish I could tell Drayton about this…”
“I know…”
Time went by quickly. Upon arriving at the school, a fellow Fairy type user gave you a tour of the building and the terrarium to boot. Teaching you all about the BB League and the other clubs around the school. A nice bonding session as well with your mutual feelings on fairy type Pokémon. She was nice, her outfit was cute too, though there was something you didn't quite get along with about Lacey. “And that about sums it up! To recap, the terrarium is split into four sections, the savannah biome is where the school entrance is! If you are a battler, the BB league is located inside to the right of the stairs. The elite four bases are spread out throughout the terrarium. Be careful when you go for the dragon trial, he, um, tends to get a little full of himself. Nothing new though. Just be advised to not fuel his ego any more than it already is.”
“Will do, thank you again for this. We look forward to seeing you at the trials!” You pipe up, disregarding the comment she made about her ‘friend’. With a small wave, Lacey spun on her heel and headed off for the coastal biome.
“Well, that was something.” Your friend piped up, trying not to laugh about how awkward that last part was. “Considering she calls everyone in the BB league club her friend, the way she speaks about the Dragon elite four members says otherwise. I mean she didn’t even use his name? How can we go off of toothpaste for a name?”
“I don’t know, but I'm sure we’ll meet him. Who knows, maybe it's a sibling rivalry sort of thing between them. Kinda felt like it to me.” You question, attempting to come up with any reason she may have been particularly pokey about one member and not the rest.
The sound of a poke ball stopped your conversation dead in its tracks. Your Archaludon had decided he was bored with the conversation and wanted attention now. Sylveon may have been your first Pokémon, but Archaludon held a special place in your heart; being the only reminder of Drayton you had. It was his Duraladon after all, a parting gift he gave you. It may not have been a fairy type, but that didn’t stop you from putting a fairy tera on it. Just for argument's sake.
Sitting down on a random rock, you quietly feed Archaludon a poffin, keeping him entertained whilst your friend rummages through her bag, finally zipping it back up once she was happy with whatever she did. “Well, I'm a head inside. Lacey describing the science club got me all giddy. Joltik agrees with me.” A small chirp followed your friend's voice as her tiny joltik popped out from her hood. How you didn’t notice it this whole time is beyond you. With a silent wave, you watch her walk into the distance. You weren’t alone for long though
“Two new students in one day and no one told me!?” A voice chimed up from along the beach. A boy, taller than others you had seen during the tour. His hair was spiked up at the front in one big swoop, kind of like, toothpaste. Just like Lacey had said. Though you could only see the back of him. From his outfit, he definitely fits the bill of dragon trainer.
That's when it hit you. Something about that hair seemed so familiar to you, and it hit you like a tauros. “Do my eyes deceive me!? Drayton? Drayton!! I can’t believe it!”
His neck snapped so fast, it was a surprise he didn’t give himself whiplash. The sound of your voice being music to his ears. Seems his feet began moving on their own; he didn’t even register he was moving till he was already hugging you tighter than a mousehold. “How are you here? What are you doing here?”
“I should be asking you that!” You respond, wrapping your arms around him tighter, still trying to comprehend the fact he really was there with you. “You moved to the other side of Unova!”
Drayton’s laugh coated your ears, causing your already beaming smile to brighten even more. “Well I didn’t say exactly where, probably should have mentioned the ocean school part huh.”
“Yeah, I've missed you so much, Drayton. Things just haven't been the same without your lively presence.” He had no response to that, only a simple hum as he moved away from you, his hands on your shoulders, a smile on his face.
That's when your entire team all decided to join Archaludon outside. Sylveon comes out first, running around Drayton’s legs, her blue coat fluffing up with every pass she makes. Your Archaludon was already watching the scene, if it had a tail it would be wagging. The sight of his old trainer and his current trainer looking so happy made the bridge happier than a yamper. Vanilla Alcremi came out not long after Sylveon, doing a little happy dance alongside your Hattereen. Silently your white florges admired the situation, being the newest of the team she simply watched, enjoying the reunion that was unfolding.
“Seems you were not the only one who missed me!” Drayton chuckled, running his hand along Archaludon’s side.
“Would seem that way. When Lacey described you earlier, you were not the person I pictured.” You admitted thinking back to what Lacey said.
Drayton smiled and pulled you into his side to allow the Archaludon to nuzzle into him, his arm around your shoulder. “Ah don’t pay Lacey any mind, she isn’t too fond of my fighting style, she thinks my attitude is unprofessional. Her words, not mine.”
“Well I think your fighting style is great, even if I can beat you no problem.” A cocky grin painted on your face, teasing him.
“Oh is that so!? How about we put that to the test, then?” Drayton offered his signature smirk appearing

I know you love doing crossover pokemon teams, any particular reasons you gave dipper and mabel the teams they have, besides the obvious connections?
yeah! i have little headcanons in mind for each one!! i will now talk about them at length because you gave me permission!!!
this turned into more of a story summary than a brief explanation of why i chose these pokemon, and also became really long. so it’s under a cut. thank u
So I’ll start with Mabel’s team. She and Dipper both had an Eevee for their first Pokemon. Mabel’s is named Eloise, and he evolved into a Sylveon because i think that is by far the most Mabel eeveelution of all. the ribbons, the pink, the power of love… of course there’d be some big cool heartwarming moment where Eloise evolved to save the day because Mabel believed in it so strongly. they are best best friends and never apart.
Mabel and Dipper also both got to choose a starter Pokemon when they first arrived in Gravity Falls. i picture it as an equivalent moment to when Stan lets them each pick something from the gift shop. Mabel picked a Popplio she named Bubble Buddy. i remember seeing some cute art that i think Alex drew back around the time when Sun and Moon were new, showing Mabel with a Popplio, and i thought it was so cute and super fitting for her. the Popplio line is so cute and goofy and very transfem, all of which is true of Mabel as well. i imagine that Bubble Buddy is just as hyper and fun-loving as Mabel, and also tries super hard to be fun and funny and impressive at first, but chills out once she realizes Mabel will always adore her, even when her jokes fall flat.
GRAPPLING HOOK is a stand-in for Mabel’s grappling hook, of course. she completely lucked into catching her as her very first non-starter Pokemon and is unbelievably proud about it. she’s her ace in the hole for battles, and she thinks she’s the coolest, strongest Pokemon ever… even though she’s actually kind of a pushover in battle, at least at first. she gets knocked out all the time early on, but Mabel never loses faith in her, and sure enough, she comes through and saves Mabel and Dipper in the season 1 finale. then once she evolves, she actually becomes the unstoppable ace Mabel always believed she could be.
Waddles is Waddles. same role and backstory, the main difference is just that he was deliberately bred to be shiny and that’s why a regular little Lechonk was a sought-after carnival prize. the guy selling him had lots of objectively cooler shinies, but Mabel wanted Waddles. he loves following Mabel around, but hates to battle, so she just lets him hang around and chill out like a spoiled pet. he also doesn’t want to evolve, so Mabel makes him an Everstone friendship bracelet (not pictured but it’s there i prommy)
Mimikyu and Garchomp are less fleshed out in my mind, but i still think they’re fun choices. i think the Mimikyu’s name is Dolly and joins Mabel after she and Dipper realize he’s responsible for a haunting they were investigating. Mabel immediately thinks he’s adorable and shouts down anyone who calls him creepy, and Dolly is so happy to find a friend who loves him for who he is that he demands to join her team on the spot. Garchomp’s name is Chompy, and she hatched from a random lost egg that Mabel found. as a Gible, she was an absolute menace who gnawed on everything in sight and threw tantrums constantly. Mabel had a tough time training her and getting her to listen, but eventually Chompy learned to trust Mabel. she matured as she evolved and became very sweet and cuddly over time.
Ogerpon would definitely join the team after a big important story arc, but i’m not sure how that would go. i just think Ogerpon and Mabel are so similar in a lot of cute ways. they’re both weird girls with big sweaters who are very sweet but also very aggro. i’ve seen them compared before and i just love to see it. i think her nickname would be Pompom. i also really like the idea of Pompom being besties with GRAPPLING HOOK, i just think it’d be cute.
-
NOW DIPPER’S TEAM! his starter was also an Eevee, of course, but his was a shiny! he and Mabel chose their Eevees from a big litter of babies their dad’s Eevee had, because giving an Eevee to new trainers is a longstanding Pines family tradition in this AU.
his was nicknamed Laika, and she started out as a solemn, angsty loner who took herself too seriously and only got along with Dipper; they’ve always bonded over being different and having trouble making friends. but over time, just like Dipper, she makes new friends and becomes more confident. eventually she evolves into Umbreon at a dramatic story moment, maybe at the same time that Eloise does because that’d be really cool. i think Umbreon is a fitting choice for Dipper because it’s mysterious and odd, but still based on the power of friendship, so deep down it’s just as cute and sweet as Sylveon. it just doesn’t like to admit to its own cuteness.
Dipper’s Alolan starter was Rowlet. he named him Nova, and Nova absolutely ADORED Dipper from minute one. despite being the size of a basketball, he immediately saw Dipper as a tiny little baby that he was responsible for. he was always preening him and fussing over him, and Dipper was annoyed and embarrassed by it at first, but always kind of found it endearing. sometimes in the first month, people like Robbie and Gideon would make fun of Dipper for being babied by a tiny round owl, but then a couple months later that tiny owl was a six-foot-tall assassin raptor, and if you so much as breathed wrong while looking at his human son he’d try to tear out their liver, and no one made fun of Dipper anymore. anyway, Rowlet is the most “nerdy bookworm”-coded starter in my mind, so i think it’s a natural choice for Dipper. especially if Mabel already has Popplio. i think the Litten from the trio they both chose from stuck around the Mystery Shack and eventually became Stan’s pokemon against his will.
The Rotom, Pluto, lived inside Ford’s Journal 3 Pokedex and was just trapped in there until Dipper found them. Pluto is super excitable and full of energy and always wanting to do new things and have adventures, and after all the time they spent cooped up inside a hidden, deactivated Pokedex, Dipper can hardly blame them. he does everything he can to help Pluto have fun after everything they’ve been through, and tries not to pry too much even though he’s really curious about their past. Pluto doesn’t talk, so they never directly give Dipper any answers about Ford. they’re still technically Ford’s Pokemon, and they’re traumatized by the loss of their trainer and at first very conflicted about whether they should let Dipper go down the same path that he did. but eventually they bond with Dipper enough to decide to help with solving the mystery of the journal-dexes. i just love the idea of the journals in a Pokemon GF AU being Pokedexes, because in a way, they kind of already are in canon, right? so i think that’d be the perfect excuse for Dipper to have a Rotom. once Ford comes back, he would be really grateful to see how much Dipper helped his traumatized Pokemon. up to that point Dipper wouldn’t have caught Pluto since they already had a trainer, but once Ford’s back, he’d definitely gift them to Dipper.
Crobat (named Comet) was Dipper’s first catch and represented a big important step in his journey, but starts out super anxious and terrified of everything. Dipper thinks Comet is kind of useless at first and is jealous that Mabel caught GRAPPING HOOK, who actually likes to battle and has confidence, as opposed to this dinky little Zubat who would never impress anybody. but eventually Dipper realizes that viewing Comet that way is unfair; she’s not a tool, she’s a living thing who’s shy and fearful and needs a friend who believes in her. so he changes his approach and treats her with more kindness and care, and she very quickly comes out of her shell and actually ends up being one of Dipper’s most powerful Pokemon.
The backstories for Golisopod and Beheeyem are a lot less detailed. Golisopod (Bermuda) is basically just a nod to Dipper’s arc of learning to be brave and stand up for himself, and Beheeyem (Dover) is just because Dipper’s whole thing is mystery and the paranormal and stuff, and also Beheeyem strikes me as a big nerd just like him. Sorry Dipper, that’s just how i view you.
finally we’ve got Terapagos. i like the idea of Dipper befriending them because to me they represent, like, the truth behind a big mystery. the hidden treasure at the heart of a search for the truth. that just seems perfect for Dipper. i think he deserves to discover and befriend Terapagos and be the first one to discover all the secrets they hold. and also hug them because they’re a cute little turtle. i think he’d name them Star.

…Man. It hasn't really hit me how relaxed i've been lately.
…I know some of you might hate composure, but… she's the nicest person I know.
For the past few years, I've been overworked with the sanctuary, carrying the world on my shoulders. Sixteen hours day, all day every day, seven hours of sleep, and maybe one hour for free time, But composure?
…She managed to organize and teach a few hundred pokemon out of the thousands I take care of how to help with my job, without my even asking.
I didn't wanna let the pokemon help, because its my job to take care of them, and it felt like if I did, I would've been overworking them, using them for free labor but… They aren't overworked.
Each pokemon thats helped has only taken fifteen minutes out of their day, max to help with the sanctuary, and they're all so much more efficient and better at the jobs than me. I don't have to do nearly as much, only six hours of work a day, and I have three days off a week now thanks to her.
She figured out singlehandedly how the pokemon could help in the fastest, most efficient way possible for me.
Like… an example is the farms. Ground types tilling entire crops worth of soil in a second, water types using a rain dance and fire types a sunny day for watering, and providing the sunlight thats blocked by the trees? Grass types using growth to increase crop yields, and Psychic types harvesting it all in half a second.
And that kinda stuff goes to everything. Hoothoot reminding pokemon to do chores at a certain time each day every day with their sense of time…
Lucario, Ribombee and Hatterene to sense rising tensions and potential fights, and calming them down before they happen…
Tinkaton and sinicha that help with repairs?
Xatu to warn us of any intruders that will appear in the woods?
zoroarks keep our location safe with illusions.
Toxtricity, miya, a mister rime, obstagoon a skeledirge and quaquaval to entertain them all with their performances.
We have gardevoir, chansey, and audino to help heal injured pokemon, and restore them after battle.
We have mimikyu and banette that help with fabric repairs and making clothing.
Like??? She set it up so some Polteageist, sinischa, miltank and a shuckle provide a bar for beverages for fucks sake.
All because of composure, her hard work, intelligence, and effort.
I may run the sanctuary, but without her it wouldn't even be a hundredth as amazing as it is now. It might not even exist, or have been able to keep running because of her.
…She's done so much for me. No matter what I do, I'll never be able to give her the thanks and appreciation she deserves.

Tagged by @tornrose24 for the tag game. Let’s go this!
Rules: if you get tagged in this, answer the questions that are written and make sure to swap out one question at the end of it for the next person to answer.
1. Are you named after anyone? Yes, I'm named after my dad and aunt. My name is a fusion of their names and I have my grandma’s middle name.
2. Do you ever go window shopping on sites like Etsy, and if so, what kinds of things do you look at? All the time, just did it yesterday. It depends on what I'm feeling like looking at, yesterday it was manatees.
3. What’s your choice of listening material when doing stuff? It’s very random at times, I just listen to whatever I'm feeling. I can go from sonic music to jekyll and Hyde to Beetlejuice to Karl’s theme to pizza tower. This is for everything I do from art to cleaning.
4. Do you like a song for its sound or for its lyrics? Both, tho I never have listened to an instrumental of song with lyrics. I should try that more.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? What their wearing, especially if it’s something I'm interested in,like a sonic shirt.
6. What’s your eye color? Dark brown
7. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings, I just want the characters to be happy. I’m actually very scared of horror movies, even tho I love watching murder mysterious and stuff like that (shows like deadly women) I'm just confusing.
8. Any special talents? I can spin my right hand in complete circle, been doing that since middle school still no pain! (old me is going to hate me)
9. What trait in others draws you to them? Playfulness, like they can joke with you, and you can joke back. As long as it doesn’t start sounding mean.
10. What are your hobbies? Drawing and sewing. I’ve done painting and making a manatee sculpture in the past, but I really love drawing and sewing, in fact I'm going to be making my own mimikyu cosplay by hand.
11. Do you have any pets? I’ve had a few pets in the past. I had a goldfish named fish, a rabbit named Tino, a hermit crab I got from the fair named Hermmy, and two other rabbits named Nippy and Sasha Fierce. Now I have another rabbit named brown sugar and a dog named Bella.
12. If you became a God/Deity, what would your domain be and how could you use your powers to make the world a better place? ......manatees, I would be the god of the manatees! And I will make it so that every week everyone must be chill like the manatees and help clean the ocean!
13. How tall are you? 5 foot 3 inches
14. Favorite subject in school? Art (yes I know very obvious) and gym. Art for the fact I got to do what I always love doing and seeing the chaos other students did (someone had a puppy in there) and gym because I got to hang out with friends and that’s where I met my boyfriend. (side story: I was the only high schooler who had a sonic backpack and a lock on their backpack, this was because my phone were stolen twice so my mom thought this would stop them from stealing my phone, but NOPE. I guess the thieves took this as a challenge and while in gym they got in between the small opening of my backpack and took my phone, but joke’s on them that phone was broken anyway! I win!!
15. Dream job? Being an animator or an professional artist in general, I do hope one day my silly little characters can actually be a show one day.
I’m tagging @jackie-sugarskull as the next person. Anyone else can do it too.
I’m changing #2 to What’s your favorite animal and why?

Pokemon OCs (Ask me about them!)
Victor (technically not an OC? He’s the male SwSh protagonist, but I headcanon he’s Gloria’s big brother who didn’t complete the Gym Challenge. I think he’s diverged enough from canon Victor to be an OC) He’s 18, attends Hammerlocke University. Lives with his partner Heen (a herdier). Speaks Scots. He’s studying Linguistics and has a few “study” pokemon he received from various regions.
Victor’s roommate Odhran (pronounced O ran). Pastel green pretty boy. He seems like a very like...lazy and party type, but he’s a very hard worker. He works as a model to put himself through university (studying to be a therapist). That said, he loves to have fun. His main partner is a Matcha Alcremie with Ribbon Sweets. He secretly owns a shiny teddiursa, despite them being illegal in Galar. (He does sometimes think that rules are just suggestions). Odhran has two younger sisters: 14 year old Chloe and 12 year old Tashy. They still live at home on the farm in the middle of nowhere with his parents. (No one would ever expect Odhran to be a country kid lmao)
Chloe is literally empathic. She can feel the emotions of humans and pokemon. This causes her to be very sensitive and kind...but she’s a bit shallow at times. She very much prefers cute or pretty pokemon, with little interest in “cool or tough” looking pokemon. She’s very interested in contests and puts a lot of time towards improving her skill in them (contests the way I have them are a mix of anime and gen 4 sinnoh games. 1st round: dress up, must fit the category you’re entered in Cool/Cute/Beauty/Tough/Clever and a given theme. 2nd round: display, showing off moves to judges. 3rd round: battle round. Defeat your opponent while earning points for style. It’s possible to earn lots of style points and win the contest even if you lose the battle. Rare, but possible). Her partner is (eventually) a male Kirlia turned Gallade named Lancelot (she also eventually finds her calling as a pokemon breeder)
Tashy is...naive. She was adopted as a baby and due to circumstances she somehow ended up never really leaving the farm as a child. Her big brother and sister both did their best to protect her. They accidentally ended up with a sister who LITERALLY DOESN’T KNOW FEAR. She eventually leaves home for an adventure... without a pokemon, or even any pokeballs (she ends up befriending Allister who finds her wandering around at night with no pokemon. He ends up helping her catch her first pokemon, a Mimikyu.
Eirlys is Victor’s girlfriend and studying to be a Real Estate Lawyer. she’s pretty serious. but this is offset by her goofy little partner: an Elgyem. He plays pranks and is always teasing Eirlys. He’s her best friend.
Taffeta is a pokemon groomer, and a part time contest judge. Her partner is Dusty, a Minccino (possibly a variant, but the white parts are dyed pastel blue). She’s beleaguered by her boss, Willoughby who owns the pokemon boutique where her salon is.
Willoughby is the embodiment of a rich snob who think’s he’s better than anyone else. He’s got a Glameow in Galar because he doesn’t care about the rules and is rich enough to flout them. He’s the kind of person who would buy mass bred shinies for the clout. (He’s not really an oc, but he’s kinda fun to hate)
Marilla is the daughter of Diantha and granddaughter of Opal. Like her mother, she’s an actress. Her partner since childhood is Clefable. She really isn’t very close to her mother, and has been travelling on her own for roles and such since she was a kid. She really doesn’t take crap from anyone. What she really wants, more than anything, is to find a place to really belong. (I think I could see her going to Paldea, since I think she would enjoy the boarding school vibe and I think a lot of the pokemon would suit her, though it makes me sad that there’s no Clefable in Paldea so her partner would have to go back to Kalos)
Xavier Hawthorn. He’s a pokemon behaviorist. He is going for his doctorate. He has the ability to feel the emotions of Pokemon, just like Chloe. This uncanny ability makes him quite popular and got him a tv show in the vein of “my cat from hell” He was born in Icirrus City but he travels often for his work, doing most of his education via correspondence. He also has a pokemon rescue and fostering program. His teammates are mostly rescues and foster fails. Despite this, he’s actually pretty shy. He’s not super good with humans. He’s very much the type to move to the middle of nowhere and offer services online only.
Koyuki. Koyuki is a Kimono girl. She moved from Celestic Town to Ecruteak specifically to pursue that life. her partner is Glaceon. She’s very passionate about history, especially Hisuian history. Honestly at some point I’d like to see Koyuki time travel back to Hisui or ancient Johto in a Legends game taking place in Johto.
#pokemon#pokemon oc#pokemon trainer#pokemon trainer oc#i have so many Galar pokemon ocs because until SV came out it was the most recent mainline game#i'm sure there's more#but i can't remember off the top of my head

Reviews of All Scrapped Spaceword Betas
Exactly what it says in the title. This is also for my reference, as I might redesign some of these later for funsies.
I’m only including Pokemon that were 100% scrapped (we’re not here to argue what might have become what) and aren’t evos/pre-evos of existing Pokemon. Also, I’m using the English fan-translations for the names because I don’t speak Japanese.
Flambear/Volbear/Dynabear
Our original fire starter, and yeah, I can see why this was scrapped. For starters (heh), it looks more like a rodent that evolves into a lion than anything resembling a bear. And secondly... it doesn’t really have a clear focus, nor a memorable design. It’s just kind of a rodent-bear thing with flames tacked onto it.
The best Pokes usually have a "catch” to them, and these guys lack that. For example, this got replaced by Cyndaquil, which has the concept of flaming spikes that form out of its back. That’s memorable. This, well, isn’t.
Possible reason for being scrapped: Lack of focus/interesting design
Pokes to fill the void: Teddiursa and Ursaring are probably the closest in terms of being bears. Something about it also reminds me of Growlithe/Arcanine, probably because it’s a fluffy fire thing that evolves into a bigger fluffy fire thing with a mane and black markings.
Cruz/Aqua/Aquaria
This has the same problem as the Flambear line, just less extreme. It’s okay, being a little plesiosaur that evolves into a bigger plesiosaur, but it also lacks an interesting catch to it. The pearls are maybe something, but they’re not really emphasized, just kind of tacked on. Plus Dragonair kind of has the crystal neck ornaments on lock. And the horn. And the underbelly. And the water theme...
Whoops.
I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to a plesiosaur water starter in the future, but it would probably have to be completely redesigned.
Possible reason for being scrapped: Lack of focus/interesting design; too similar to Dragonair
Pokes to fill the void: Dragonair, as mentioned above. If you want a plesiosaur, Lapras is always a thing.
Putting the rest under the cut for length.
Sunmola1/Anchorage/Grotess
This is one of the most chaotic beta evolutions out there, aside from beta Girafarig. I can see the resemblance between Sunmola1 and Anchorage to some extent--counter-shaded blue fish with two fins and a short body--but the anchor part of the evolution comes out of nowhere. Then it sporadically turns into a gulper eel, which has nothing to do with the previous two evolutions at all.
I’ve heard some people suggest that Sunmola1 basically gets dragged into the depths and turns into a deep-sea creature due to its anchor, which is a fantastic idea. However, if that’s what they were going for here it’s not really clear, and I think it could be executed much better.
Individually, Sumola1 is a little plain. Not terrible, but I think they could do something more interesting with the little head thing. Anchorage is memorable, but there’s something very un-Pokemonish about it. I think it’s just the fact that it’s basically cut in half--I keep expecting the backsprite to show its organs or something. Grotess is also a bit too plain.
It’s also worth noting that at some point, this was the evolutionary line, which is more consistent but much less interesting (save for the middle evo’s eyes, which are pretty great).
Possible reason for being scrapped: Lack of evolutionary consistency; some designs plain or not very fitting for Pokemon
Pokes to fill the void: Alomomola is a sunfish Pokemon. Sharpedo is a shark crossed with an object, and Grotess almost certainly became Huntail and Gorebyss.
Rinring/Bellboyant
These two... are pretty good. They have a simple catch--black cats with bells--and the designs are nicely executed and memorable.
If I had one complaint, it’s that they maybe seems a tad unfocused in the backend of things. They’re dark types, but have a bunch of “cutesy” moves, and it’s not clear why’d they be dark apart from being black cats. They seem to have a magical girl vibe (Bellboyant looks a bit like Luna from Sailor Moon, which is probably not a coincidence), which also has nothing to do with the bells or the dark theme. I do think that the designs themselves are fine though, and that if you just focused on the sound concept a hair more you’d have a pretty great Pokemon.
Possible reason for being scrapped: Not entirely sure, these definitely would’ve been popular. Might’ve just been a balancing thing, or it lost the dev popularity contest.
Pokes to fill the void: Skitty kind of has the same vibe as Rinring. They also remind me a bit of the Meowth line, being cat Pokemon with metal attached to them. The Purrloin line takes over the “dark-type cat” aspect.
Bomseel
I’m torn on this one. On the one hand, it’s a very plain looking Pokemon. The idea of it balancing a fireball/bomb on its nose instead of a ball is clever and memorable enough... except that it’s dependent on it being on that pose. It can’t balance that 24/7, and once it stops all you’re left with is a plain sea lion with dark points.
However, it’s fire/water. The only fire/water we have right now is a legendary, so it would be sweet to have one that’s just a regular poke. So it’s not that the concept itself is bad, using a water-based animal and adding a fire type; it’s just more that the execution is lackluster. Give this guy a hook not related to the fireball and make the seal itself more interesting and I think you’d have something here.
Possible reason for being scrapped: Lack of interesting design
Pokes to fill the void: Volcanion is our only fire/water Pokemon for now. In terms of seals/sea lions with a circus theme, Popplio is a decent enough match.
Tigrette/Electiger
Someone at Gamefreak hates tigerballs, because this line was planned for Gen 1, scrapped, then planned for Gen 2 and scrapped again. Which is strange, because while it’s not the best design it’s not bad either. It’s very very cute, and could definitely find an audience.
However, I’m not really sure what the premise is here. If it’s based on tiger clay bells, then it doesn’t really play into the bell theme much at all. And if it’s not... why is it so round? It’s not that the roundness is bad, but it would usually form the hook for this Pokemon, like it collects static electricity in its fur that makes it puff out or something. Maybe some dex descriptions would’ve made this clearer, who knows.
Also, Electiger is literally the exact same design as Tigrette, just bigger. It would either need a completely new final evolution or would need to show up as a single evo.
While that sounds harsh, I do really like this design. Fix the evo, figure out/build on the hook of it being round or bell like, and maybe refine the markings a touch and it would be pretty perfect.
Possible reason for being scrapped: Not sure. Might’ve been too similar to Pikachu (both being yellow round electric type Pokemon with zig-zag tails, and og fat Pikachu was also very round). The need to rework the evolution also might’ve turned GameFreak off of it.
Pokes to fill the void: Spheal and Rowlet are both pleasantly round. Pikachu is cute and electric themed in a similar way. In terms of tigers, Raikou is also electric-type. The exact way the stripes are done here is also very similar to Litten.
Kurstraw/Pangshi
GameFreak. GameFreak, you are telling me that we almost had a voodoo-doll Pokemon based off of Ushi-no-Toki-Mairi that evolves into a fucking jiangshi panda?? You are killing me here.
A few interesting things to note here:
Kurstraw evolves at level 1. How? Why? No idea. It could just be a placeholder, but...
The fact that Kurstraw was set to have Curse as its signature move (then called “nail”) and that it only learned this move at level 100 makes it evolving at level 1 seem intentional.
To make things more confusing, it almost seems like (and this is speculation on my part) GameFreak’s intention was to encourage players to not evolve this thing. Stats are comparable, Kurstraw only gets its signature move if you level it up to where it can’t evolve, and Kurstraw has the better moveset (getting frigging destiny bond at lv. 16, while Pangshi gets... splash (which. makes more sense when you consider it’s called “hop” in Japan but it’s still useless). If that was what they were aiming for, then that’s a really unique mechanic that would really make this poke stand out.
Design wise, Kurstraw is... well, it’s a doll with a nail rammed through it. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s not very Pokemon-ish. Meanwhile, Pangshi is maybe a little too much like a Jianshi rather than being reminiscent of one, right down to the little hat. The pose, fangs, and panda colors (which resemble Jiangshi mandarin robes) are more than enough to get the hook across.
What I really love about these two are the expressions. They are just like, so dissonantly happy. Kurstraw is literally like
and Pangshi has the dead-eyed thousand-yard stare of Espurr, except unlike Espurr it looks completely and utter deranged. It looks like if this Pokemon ended up in Mystery Dungeon, it would respond to every question with “my favorite color is blood”. Amazing.
Possible reason for being scrapped: I think these two might’ve been scrapped just because they were too scary. I mean, it’s a voodoo doll impaled on a giant nail that evolves into a literal actual corpse. The implied violence was probably just a bit much for GameFreak.
The reason I think this is, beside the fact that they have fairly solid designs, good hooks, and all of their stats and moves in place, most beta Pokemon have had their premises revisited at some point. But we’ve really never gotten a voodoo doll Pokemon since this, and we definitely haven’t gotten any jiangshi Pokemon either, which suggests the problem lied in the very concept rather than the execution.
Pokes to fill the void: People say that Kurstraw was reworked into Banette, but if anyone Pokemon resembles it to be, it would actually be Mimikyu. They both have cloth bodies with drawn-on smiley faces that resemble something cuter than them and they both want to curse you for existing.
For Pangshi... well, there’s Pancham if you’re looking for tiny pandas. If you’re after a jiangshi though, you’re out of luck.
Wolfman/Warwolf
This Pokemon has a great hook. I mean, a Pokemon that wears a pelt that transforms it into a werewolf? Hell yeah. Not to mention it might be a reference to an obscure Nordic tale about people donning wolf pelts to turn into wolves for ten days.
Design wise, it... well, Wolfman looks almost exactly like Venonat. I’m not the only one who sees this, right?
That aside, I think the idea could be played up a little more. Wolfman is fine, save for its Venonat-ishness, but Warwolf doesn’t do much for me, basically just being a larger version with claws and fangs. If the idea is that it turns into a werewolf by wearing the pelt, what if its evolution looked somewhat like a wolf? Or better yet, the actually body of the thing changes to fill the wolf skin more, so it looks like its a part of it? That would really elevate this Pokemon to a new level.
Possible reason for being scrapped: I’d guess that it’s the same problem as Kurstraw and Pangshi--too scary. I mean, that is a dead pelt of some kind, which means that it killed and skinned some kind of Pokemon, and that’s not getting into questions of what Pokemon they got that from.
It’s also worth noting that when we did finally get a werewolf Pokemon via Lycanroc, it was minus the pelt concept.
Pokes to fill the void: Lycanroc as our werewolf Pokemon. In terms of design, Venonat is very similar as noted above. And something about it really reminds me of Snorunt, being little critters with glowing eyes that wear a cloak of some kind and live in the cold (this line was ice-type).

what kind of pokemon do you think the ducktale crew would have if they were trainers?
I'm only doing main partner pokemon bc I don't think I can flesh out teams for everyone
Scrooge - okay so this one was actually really difficult. I really see him as specializing in steel-types, because aside from his immense wealth, a major defining trait for Scrooge is how he's self-made (through his adventuring) and, less notably, his distaste for magic. I think all of this has a lot of cohesion with the steel type, but finding the right pokemon was a challenge. I was hoping for something from Galar, but nothing really jumped out to me as vibing particularly well with him, so I think the best fit I could find would be Aegislash, which is, at least, also from a European region, and fits well with his adventurer motif. If anyone has any better ideas feel free to send them in, though, cos I'm still not entirely sure.
Donald - Specializes in water-types. It would be entirely fitting of Donald's luck for him to get stuck with a magikarp. But with hard work and dedication (and a decent amount of rage) he ends up raising it into a Gyarados. He would also have the mega-stone for it.
Della - Specializes in flying-types. It was so fucking tempting to give her a celesteela, but not only would that be kind of mean, but I also want to refrain from using any ultra beasts. That being said, I think that Skarmory might be a good fit, because it still does retain the same flying/steel mix, and I do think that Scrooge has rubbed off on Della, significantly (for better or for worse). Plus I think it fits her motif very well (planes, metal flying machines, while Donald sails boats, watercraft that catch the air in their sails, and goes well with a water/flying type). I was also really tempted to give her a rayquaza, but I also wanted to refrain from using any legendaries. Mayhaps she went to space chasing a rayquaza, tho?
Huey - eclectic in his type choices, he likes to have an extremely varied team. Obviously this makes it harder to narrow down his partner pokemon, but I feel like it suits him. I also feel like Girafarig suits him - I think he initially relates to it as he ascribes his own rage to a persona he feels is an antithetical "side" to his "normal" personality that he needs to supress, yet ultimately, he learns that the Duke is simply an aspect of himself and a part to his whole, just like how Girafarig is not comprised of two separate pokemon, but is instead just a single creature.
Dewey - Electric-types for suuuure. It just fits his high-energy personality so well, and I think it also has synergy with his desire to be a media star, since iirc most reporters, interviewers, and camera-people in the games carry electric-types. I think Jolteon would work well with him, since as much as he would hate to admit it, he does tend to gravitate towards the basic and popular, which the eeveelutions definitely are. And though pikachu would have been the obvious choice in that case, I think Jolteon fits his aesthetic, best.
Louie - ooookay I am going to cheat on this one a little because I do have two pokemon in mind for Louie. Firstly, I think he favors both normal- and dark-types, though he isn't too hard-pressed about types. His main partner pokemon would be either a Meowth or an Alolan Meowth, though either way he never intends to evolve it. Cats. Money. Louie. It works. I am very adamant about Louie having some kind of Meowth as a partner. I also believe he would have an Absol. Absol just seems like such a good pokemon for anxious people to have, since it can easily sense and warn about disasters. I think Louie would value that, a lot.
Webby - with Webby's high value and priority on friendship, I think the fairy type would be a very good fit for her (especially since she is a part of Team Magic) though, I also think she would at least try to keep a varied team. Her partner would be Mimikyu - because oh my god look at this little guy, it needs a friend so bad!! Webby will be its friend!! And she'll give it all the love and attention it needs. Of course, it knows Return.
Lena - Ghosts, Dark, Psychics, Faeries, anything that exudes a magic and mystical energy to match her own. Lena would definitely be one of those "psychic" trainers who absolutely has powers of her own, but still takes the time to raise pokemon. Her partner would be a Gardevoir - a pokemon very in-tune with emotions that compliments Lena in her struggle to control her emotions and magic. It would also be a shiny Gardevoir and Lena would also have its mega-stone, because then they would share the blue-black-and-white palette. And when they're both powered-up, Lena loses the black in her palette while Mega-Gardevoir gains it.
Violet - Violet also has an affinity for the more "magical" types her sister and friend are. I think that, due to her interest in witchcraft and metaphysics as a field of study, I'm a bit torn between Gothitelle and Hatterene. She probably would have both, I'm just torn on who her partner would be. On one hand, I could lean harder into the metaphysics aspect, since that's what one of her fathers studies/teaches, and go with Gothitelle, but Hatterene also gives her more synergy with Lena because their partner pokemon would be the exact same type combination. I'm not sure.
BOYD - A Ditto!! Not just for their implied connection to science and the steel-type, but because BOYD (in-universe) was also designed to replicate (and ultimately be) a real person.
Hahahaaaa that took a lot of thinking! Thank you for the challenge!! I do have more ideas but I think I'm going to stop there before it gets too long. Also sorry if you meant "ducktales crew" literally. I don't know those people well enough to assign them pokemon, lol.
#Ducktales#DT17#Pokemon#Also - Ty's partner is Joltik he specializes in bug-types#Kit's partner is Tropius and he specializes in flying-types#GLOMGOLD'S PARTNER IS SHARPEDO OBVIOUSLY!!!

Season 1
Season 4
I suppose you could argue that this is a different drawing. Like, eleven was raised in a lab, her art is just “like that” but it’s just how they made it so similar to the original that puts me off
I’d like to say they did this on purpose to say that this is an alternate space/this isn’t real since both of the drawing represent places/moments of trauma for Eleven. Her traumatic moment changes in this place because she’s in such a state of high-panic that this militaristic/broken family (what I wanted to see happen with the Creel house never got to be) world but after watching s4 I can’t believe that they aren’t just gonna go the easy way. (Also, poor El. Just leave her alone)
Season 2 (the second picture that’s actually the interior of the room doesn’t want to cooperate so it’s on the bottom of the entire post, sorry)
Season 4
Then there’s the rainbow room itself. I’ve long believed that anything outside of Hawkins, especially seen by characters like El or Hopper (who I have done some stranger analysis on to say that they do not exist, especially not El. She’s the “upsidedown” version of Will Byers on top of being the flea. (I mentioned Hopper there because he’s the acrobat) We don’t get to see Will in the Upsidedown. Instead We explore Hawkins and navigating the real world and friendship with characters like Mike with Eleven.) do not exist. The city with Kali is one of them big time. But that includes El’s aunt and Terry Ives, her mother. They’re outside of Hawkins, they’re even deeper in the subconscious world that I call “barbelith”.
The rainbow room in Terry’s flashback is small, just a space where El and Kali are playing. There’s not even elements of other children being experiments at the current time.
Also, if El really was raised in the lab as it is in season 4, among these other children it further doesn’t add up. Henry holding that conversation with her about her powers doesn’t work. She wouldn’t have been able to understand half of what he was saying if she doesn’t know the word “friend” when she gets out of the lab. As of s1, it was clear (at least I thought it was) that she was never raised among other children. And if there were other children in the lab at the time, Eleven never interacted with them. (I’d assume this was because she was under special watch due to her strong powers.) If the rainbow room and season 4 lab stuff is NOT subconscious, then it creates more plot holes.
The Duffers are trying too hard to explain their mysteries and I hate that. The Material Monster thing is EVERYTHING! I wrote my grad thesis on it! Do not explain it no matter how much people beg or theorize because then it becomes boring! It’s like if Nintendo were to reveal what Mimikyu looked like under his costume. It just would take anything interesting out of the concept.
It’s clear that if this is real it was NEVER planned from the beginning and I don’t like that the duffers are retconning things and adding things on to try to make their ALREADY GREAT show “more interesting”.
Here’s baby El and Kali in the ORIGINAL rainbow room ⬇️

THAT’S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!
Ok so this is gonna be a long list, since my head is only empty when it’s of greatest inconvenience.
Also please read the tags for potential triggers! Lmk if I missed any and I’ll add them right away.
Without further ado, here’s my interpretation of a Sanders Sides Pokemon AU!
* Ok so first of all, the sides are all gym leaders.
* I picture this in the Galar region, but probably with different towns and the like because I don’t remember any of them.
* Basically, just assume that all of the towns are made up, but that Dynamax still is a thing.
* Let’s start with Patton because his story is the least sad.
* His family runs a Fairy Type gym/pokemon nursery.
* Patton is the eldest in a large family, so he eventually became the new gym leader following in his father’s footsteps.
* He has two dads, one who was the gym leader and the other who is a pokemon breeder. They’re both pokemon breeders now and work in a Pokemon Center.
* They are definitely responsible for Patton’s sense of humor.
* Patton and all of his siblings are adopted, but they’re so close that they might as well be related by blood.
* Patton loves taking care of pokemon and would be a pokemon breeder full-time if he could
* But he also loves his family so he continues to run the gym to raise enough money to keep them comfortable and happy
* The Pokemon team I have come up for him is:
* - Togekiss
* - Boltund
* - Greninja (cuz frog)
* - Altaria
* - Frosmoth
* - Hatterine
* (If anyone has any better ideas for pokemon for any of the sides, feel free to throw your suggestions in the notes!)
* Moving on to Logan...
* Like Patton, he also inherited his gym, a Psychic Type gym, from his parents
* However, his family life isn’t nearly as happy...
* Ever since he was old enough to throw a pokeball, his parents have trained him rigorously to become the next gym leader
* They handpicked all of the pokemon in his team
* Except for a Lucario, which Logan caught as a Riolu when he was very young. His parents only let him keep it because of its battle prowess
* So Logan’s team is:
* - Lucario
* - Gardevoir
* - Alakazam
* - Raichu (alolan)
* - Malamar
* - Onix
* (Also this should be obvious by now but not all the pokes will match the gym’s type cuz that’s boring)
* Logan took over the gym when he was 15 and has been running it basically on his own ever since
* His parents still get the final say in all major decisions, even though they don’t really do anything
* Logan resents them, but doesn’t have the courage to stand up for himself
* ENTER PATTON
* Logan is at first pretty skeptical regarding Patton, since he doesn’t seem to take his job seriously
* After challenging Patton to a battle, however, that stance changes remarkably fast after facing a narrow defeat at the hands of Patton’s pokemon
* Even so, he tells himself that he doesn’t have time to become more than colleagues. He must be cordial with Patton so they can coordinate as gym leaders, but that’s it
* Meanwhile, Patton takes one look at this emotionally-repressed man and thinks to himself
* “Oh, this is the guy I’m gonna marry.”
* He then takes literally every opportunity to flirt with Logan
* And he is not subtle AT ALL
* Like he literally goes up to Logan one day and is like
* “I know you’re not ready for it right now, but one day I’m gonna marry you and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
* And Logan is VERY confused and VERY flustered because feelings? What is happening to my heart!? Am I getting sick!?
* (And his parents would absolutely disapprove because they are huge homophobes and want Logan to have an heir to pass on the gym to)
* But eventually Patton manages to break Logan’s walls down and they become close friends
* (And eventually more)
* Now, the twins!
* Their situation is pretty similar to Logan’s, at least to a certain point
* Their parents own a Fire Type gym, and were so excited to have a child who would eventually take over the gym
* Two things happened that they did not anticipate
1) They ended up having twins
2) The mother died during childbirth
* Driven by grief, stubbornness, and resentment, the father had the idea that, in order to make the twins as strong as possible, he would put them against each other at every opportunity
* They would constantly be competing to become better than the other, creating an extremely toxic rivalry
* It didn’t work... at least, not at first.
* When they were very young, Roman and Remus were inseparable.
* Even when their father tried to put them against each other, they would rebel against him and not listen
* (Remus had no issue with this, but Roman quietly longed for his father’s approval, even though he knew it was wrong)
* They had a dream that they would run the gym together, and they would talk long into the night about the gym they would create and the pokemon they would train
* That was, until their father started to take a different approach
* He noticed that, despite the two boys receiving the same education and training, Roman had a better affinity for battle (at least when it came to fire types)
* So he started giving Roman more praise and attention
* Roman was thrilled to finally make his father proud
* Remus, on the other hand, was tossed to the side
* Roman was reluctant to give up his father’s attention now that he had received it
* (Looking back, Roman wishes more than anything that he had given it up)
* The twins were driven apart, Roman being trained to take over the gym, and Remus being completely ignored
* One day, Remus ran away, disappearing in the middle of the night.
* Roman was devastated
* He wanted nothing more than to search for Remus, but he knew that if his brother didn’t want to be found, he could vanish off the face of the earth
* Years pass, and Roman takes over the gym
* His father passes away from illness when he was 16
* He can’t find it in himself to grieve
* Roman continues running the gym, hating how quiet the halls are and missing his brother terribly
* One day, he receives news of a new Poison Type gym being established, one heavily criticized for its unorthodox (and, some complain, absolutely disgusting) gym structure and puzzles
* For the first time in years, Roman smiles
* Their relationship is not nearly as close as it was when they were children, and they still have a lot of that competitiveness that was hammered into them, but they’re trying
* And of course, their pokemon teams!
* Roman’s team is:
* - Charizard
* - Wigglytuff
* - Aegislash
* - Milotic
* - Gallade
* - Butterfree
(Maybe he should have more fire types but I like all of these Pokémon for him and they don’t really have a common type among them and ahhhhhhhh...)
* While Remus’s team is:
* - Garbodor
* - Muk
* - Tentacruel
* - Gengar
* - Mawile
* - Venomoth
* While catching up on everything that happened while they were separated, Roman asks Remus how he managed to establish his own gym so quickly
* Remus smirks, saying that he had a little help from a certain dragon...
* WHICH IS JANUS! HE HAS A DRAGON TYPE GYM!
* And this is where we get into that sweet sweet angst
* Janus was born in a small village surrounded by mountains
* A few months before his birth, a disease spread throughout the village
* This disease would coat the skin in angry red boils and drive the infected delirious with sickness
* One day, Janus’ parents found him shivering with a fever, the left side of his face covered in boils
* Fearing for their lives should they catch the disease, they brought the child into the mountains and abandoned him in an old, dark cave
* He wailed in pain and terror until his throat was so hoarse he couldn’t cry anymore
* Dialga, the legendary dragon-type pokemon with power over time, heard his cries and took pity on the child
* Dialga reversed the effects of the illness, curing the child but leaving shimmering scales where the boils used to be
* Dialga then tasked the dragon type pokemon in the cave to look after the child, not trusting humans to ensure Janus’ well being
* A family of Dreepies, Drakloaks, and Dragapults takes a particular liking to Janus, raising him as one of their own
* Eventually, when Janus is a bit older, he goes to visit the town he was born in (supervised by his dragon family, of course)
* Only to find that the village was gone, abandoned by the few survivors of the horrible plague that spread throughout
* Janus felt no remorse
* He knew that he could only rely on himself, and that if he wanted to survive in this world, he needed to be aggressive
* The following week, he said goodbye to his family, only taking with him his best friend, one of the Dreepies in his family that was now a powerful Dragapault
* It wasn’t easy, as he had to learn the language and social etiquette of the people around him (being raised by pokemon would do that to you)
* He even had to resort to stealing in order to survive, which kept him on the run
* Until one day, he met Remus, another kid on the run
* Together, they were an absolute menace. To this day, the two of them have never lost a double battle
* Eventually, they both opened their own gyms, Remus a poison type and Janus a dragon type
* When not busy with the typical duties required of gym leaders, they’re basically inseparable
* Remus is the one person Janus trusts whole-heartedly
* I headcanon them as either really close friends or queer-platonic partners, but I’ll leave it up to you to decide their relationship!
* By the way, Janus’ team consists of:
* - Dragapult
* - Mimikyu
* - Zoroark
* - Arbok
* - Salazzle
* - Kimmo-oh
* So that leaves one side left...
* Ima be honest, I based Virgil heavily on Piers, but bear with me ok?
* Virgil grew up in a very poor town with his mother, as his dad abandoned them when he was very young
* And when I say poor, I mean that there wasn’t even a Pokemon Center
* Even so, he didn’t wish for anything. He didn’t care about traveling or becoming a great pokemon trainer. He just wanted to be with his mom
* (His anxiety made it hard to leave the house, anyway, so he was in no rush to go on some grand adventure)
* His mom had a dream to open a pokemon gym that both 1) incorporated music and 2) was more down to earth than the grand stadiums that were now the norm for gyms
* When she was pregnant with Virgil, she was more than happy to give up that dream for her family
* However, when her husband, their main source of income, abandoned them, her dream became more of a necessity
* The entire town was on her side, knowing that a gym could bring money to their town
* Their “gym” was nothing more than a small, outdoor stadium, but his mother loved it
* The few curious pokemon trainers who decided to challenge the unofficial gym absolutely loved her, and slowly she started to gain a bit of notoriety
* Virgil was terrified. He was afraid that his mom would get hurt by the powerful pokemon that constantly challenged her
* (And he missed her terribly. She still made time for him, but it wasn’t as much as before she took on the role of unofficial gym leader)
* And so, his mom brought him his very first pokemon: an Eevee that always seemed to know exactly how to calm him down
* He loved his Eevee, and he felt a little bit less alone whenever his mom had to leave for work. He was ok.
* Unfortunately, fate had cruel plans for the young boy
* His town was cast into shadow as a maddened Dynamaxed pokemon appeared a few miles away
* His mom, the strongest trainer in town, left to take it down, despite how much Virgil begged her to not go, or to take him with her
* (She had to go. The second-closest city to the dynamaxed pokemon was still very far away. Help wouldn’t come for a while. She was all her small town had.)
* (...She didn’t return)
* The entire town was in mourning, holding a huge ceremony to honor her memory.
* Virgil was inconsolable, barely speaking and refusing to leave his room for almost an entire year
* If it wasn’t for the people in the town, who cared for him as deeply as they did his mother, he probably wouldn’t have eaten.
* The unofficial gym, without a gym leader, was abandoned, and its small glimpse of fame was lost, plunging the town back into a seemingly inescapable pit of poverty and obscurity
* Until one day, a group of thugs came and terrorized the town, letting loose their pokemon and stealing everything they could get their hands on
* Virgil was terrified, but he couldn’t just stand there while people got hurt. With only his Eevee and his only experience being watching his mom in her matches, he challenged the thugs
* He didn’t stand a chance. His poor Eevee was at its knees within moments
* Virgil was distraught, hating his weakness and how he couldn’t protect the town that had become his family. He tried to fight the thugs himself, only to be knocked back by one of their Pokémon’s attacks.
* He got back up and charged again, tears in his eyes and bile rising from how scared he was
* His Eevee, terrified for its master and inspired by his bravery, began to glow...
* ...and in its place stood an Umbreon, body pulsing with newfound power
* This scene rallied the other people in the town, who banded together to drive the thugs away, Virgil and his Umbreon leading the charge
* From then on, Virgil vowed that he would become a strong Dark Type gym leader and create the gym his mother never got the chance to
* He trained hard, swallowing his fear to capture and train more pokemon for his team
* Which consists of...
* - Umbreon
* - Houndoom
* - Galvantula
* - Gothitelle
* - Corviknight
* - Noivern
* The townspeople, much like Team Yell in Pokemon Sw/Sh, would often go to other cities singing Virgil’s praise and unwittingly causing all sorts of problems
* Virgil has no idea that any of this is happening
* Eventually, word gets out again regarding this unofficial Pokemon gym, attracting the attention of the other gym leaders
* Roman is sent to investigate
* He doesn’t expect much, given the general appearance of the town (it doesn’t even have a pokemon center, after all)
* He’s even more put off when he recognizes the outfits of the trainers in the “gym” as the strange people who have been causing trouble all over Galar
* Even so, he has a job to do, so he dons a disguise and plows through all of the trainers, eager to finish the gym so he can go back home
* His desire to leave vanishes faster than a Pikachu with Agility the moment he lays eyes on Virgil
* Just like his mother wanted, Virgil’s battles take place during a rock concert, so Virgil waiting on a makeshift stage with a guitar in hand
* (Virgil feels like he’s going to explode with nerves, just like he does every time a trainer challenges his gym, but the memory of his mother gives him courage)
* As his Umbreon leaps into battle, he begins to sing
* And holy shit Roman is in love
* The small area is filled with spectators cheering and singing along to the song, and despite it being a far cry from any grand stadium Roman has ever battled in, it has more spirit than anything Roman has ever experienced
* It’s the most fun he’s had battling in years
* Virgil is a tough opponent, a testament to his years of pushing himself, but in the end Roman has more experience
* Virgil is devastated at the loss, knowing it would be a blow against the gym’s reputation, but manages to put on a smile and offers Roman a pin: their unofficial gym badge
* Roman smiles, removing his disguise to pin the badge to his clothes and Virgil is like “holy shit that’s Roman the famous fire-type gym leader oh no he’s really hot oh no what have I done I GAVE HIM A HANDMADE PIECE OF SCRAP METAL OH NO”
* And Roman, ignorant to Virgil’s crisis, is like “cmon, we gotta get the paperwork done to establish this place as an official gym!”
* When later asked, Virgil would firmly deny it, but at that moment he had literally burst into tears
* Roman still wears the badge Virgil presented to him to this day, even though Virgil has repeatedly offered him one of the higher-quality badges they now give out as an official gym
* Virgil’s gym is the only one that doesn’t have Dynamax, since he still has some trauma from his mother’s death
* Prinxiety eventually happens because I say so
* And all of the gym leaders are friends also because I say so
I might add more to this AU if people are interested! And feel free to add your own ideas! I’d love to hear what you think!

Oh god it's more Pokemon AU notes
[Link to first Pokemon AU submission]
Hey, it’s that guy who wrote all the Pokemon stuff! I’m so chuffed you liked it, I honestly panicked after hitting send! I haven’t had time to write a thing but I wanted to say that; hell yes to Steve having a Mimikyu and Billy having a Growlithe. And here’s some thoughts on how they got them!
Billy’s Growlithe was probably a gift because it’s a Manly pokemon - but also it can only grow so strong. Fire Stones aren’t cheap ya know, and it means Billy has a ‘power cap’ of sorts on his Pokemon. Neil likely has something with a type advantage or just pure strength on it’s size and like I said, he’s ensured at least one of Billy’s pokemon won’t evolve to it’s final form without a generous amount of money. The Growlithe itself is more nervous than Klaus and doesn’t posture for attention because it’s been in the Hargrove house since puppyhood, and is the only person/pokemon allowed to try and comfort Billy after Neil’s lashed at him. I imagine it’s named ‘Tiger’, given Billy was a child and would’ve just gone 'it has tiger stripes therefore I’m calling him Tiger!’ Tiger avoids conflict and just likes company and exercise like any good pup, while Klaus lives for a fight and wants to be strong enough to knock out Neil’s pokemon someday. Dog verus wild cat and all that!
Steve’s Mimikyu is a very recent addition, from working at Scoops Ahoy! The Mimikyu in question was part of the Russian experiments but got loose and had some fun adventures in the Mall until stumbling into Scoops Ahoy and devouring the ice cream. Robin, being the sensible person, decided she didn’t want anything to do with that, leading to Steve being the one who had to try and shoo away this strange little cloth Pokemon. He looked it up and ended up relating and then started sneaking her favourite ice cream to her (Rocky Road), leading to him nicknaming her Rocky. He had no idea she was a girl when he picked this name but it stuck. She’s an odd Pokemon, partly cos she’s from Russia so what is English. But she grows fond of Steve and helps him out in her own way, and when it comes to a battle she is ruthless. I imagine Scoops Ahoy staff could only have “cute, fitting Pokemon” at work, so Rocky gets around it by adding a sailor hat to her costume. Look she’s a sailor! (also she takes Steve’s place as second mate).
I had more thoughts on Steve’s Umbreon and felt he would give her a shockingly 'normal’ name, like Amy. She knows Steve so well, better than he knows himself some days. So she never played up for the popularity, was just always cool as can be cos someone has to be when you’ve got this dramatic himbo for a trainer. Plus Steve learned the 'Play it cool, act like you don’t care’ vibe from soneone! Did I make her a girl so there can be Eevee babies in the future, Hell Yeah I Did. You know Klaus is after that girl as hard as Billy is after Steve, even if Billy isn’t acknowledging just what he wants with Steve yet. Also the idea of Steve having nothing but female Pokemon amuses me. Always a girl magnet.
Also I gotta add an additional character and their Pokemon; Robin has a Mawile because it has big Lesbian STFU Energy. It was introduced in gen 3 and in later gens gained the Fairy type, making it a Steel/Fairy mon. It’s very sweet looking and uses it’s cuteness to lure people into a fake sense of ease, but has a massive pair of jaws on the back of it’s head that are strong enough to tear through iron bars! Naturally her Mawile does get to be at Scoops Ahoy, cos of the cute face.
(Does Billy have a mon for when he works at the pool? Maybe… but I will say that Robin and Steve’s manager at Scoops is an ice type Pokemon they both hate cos it’s such a little corporate suck-up!
Sorry for the big info dump and no writing! Just know that this AU lives in my head rent free and someday I’ll get to writing about Billy walking into Scoops to flirt/harass/purchase ice cream from Steve and about Steve going to the pool.
- That Guy who did the Pokemon thing! And should probably come up with a handle if this becomes a habit
-
okay I’m cleaning out my inbox and I must’ve MISSED THIS I love it so much. I’m so glad you liked some of my ideas for pokemon they would have, and even adding more onto them. Finding this seriously made my whole day so much better I read it like three frickin’ times, I’m gonna keep my submissions open in case you ever wanna send more! (I beg please send more if you’ve got it)

What are your pokemon headcanons for some of the characters teams lol
I've figured out some fitting pokemon for most characters but I like to try to find a neat theme and setup to go with the choices. I don't have all of them set in stone but I'll share the choices I'm the happy with atm.
Some of the descriptions will be a bit long. Characters included are Rasiel, Fran, Belphegor, Chrome, Ryohei, and Bianchi. (With very slight mention of Haru and Kyoko)
Rasiel- I’ll just get him out of the way first. Due to his status and traumatic childhood Rasiel’s preference in pokemon revolves around high class ghost types. Vain status symbols and testaments to his ability to overcome death. His team is comprised of pokemon like Cofagrigus, Chandelure, and (Authentic)Polteageist. His most notable pokemon is Cofagrigus.
Not long after the “incident” that left him terribly injured and ill, employees around the castle noticed the presence of a distressed yamask pacing the outskirts of the castle grounds. Some noted the unsettling resemblance between the young prince and the mask the pokemon carried. At some point during his recovery, the Yamask found it’s way into the castle and rushed straight to Siel. It’s presence didn’t scare the prince, it was oddly comforting and the stray pokemon offered him some small bit of company while he remained isolated.
The consensus between his caretakers was that the Yamask had mistakenly taken the likeness of the prince during the moments he was buried after his brush with death. Rasiel miraculously surviving and Yamask retaining his likeness made the pokemon confused and curiously drawn to him. And it wasn’t just Yamask. Rasiel’s near death experience and the recent flood of negative energy throughout the castle grounds turned it into a beacon for ghost type pokemon. Overtime Rasiel developed a fascination with death and the afterlife and became as drawn to ghost types as they were to him. Not once did he have to go out of his way to catch his own pokemon, all of his partners eagerly sought out their new prince of their own accord.
Rasiel’s main partner Cofagrigus is a very unsettling and dangerous pokemon and most are surprised by how docile it is in his presence. Not only is his connection to Cofagrigus deeply personal, his family is wealthy enough to satiate it’s appetite for gold and his status as future king makes him a perfect match for that particular pokemon based on it’s history. -“There are many depictions of Cofagrigus decorating ancient tombs. They're symbols of the wealth that kings of bygone eras had.”
Fran- Fran has a very notable lack of motivation when it comes to most things, being a trainer included. He doesn’t really have a preference and his team is made up of pokemon he obtained through odd circumstances. Notable pokemon in Frans possession are Espurr, Zorua, Mimikyu, Appletun, and Hatterene.
A tiny apple-less applin became infatuated with Fran’s hat and was determined to make it it’s new home. Though Fran tried many times to shoo the pokemon away or lock it out of his house, it always found its way to him again. Eventually he grew tired of constantly dealing with it and just let it take up residence in his hat. It’s delighted little eyes always poking out of the top. Fran eventually evolved it not long after he acquired a new hat.
Though I don’t have an idea for how he acquired Mimikyu and I do have the hc that Fran is for some unknown reason is the only known person capable of looking under Mimikyu’s disguise without it having any negative affect on him. Not even Belphegor or Mukuro are willing to personally test their luck in that regard.
Hatterene are scary and near impossible for the average person to approach without provoking. However Fran’s monotonous disposition and overall lack of outward emotion made him unintentionally cross paths with one. Though he had no desire to catch or battle it he noticed it had intently started following him. It had never encountered a human that didn’t instantly agitate it and that made it curious.(She also just liked his big silly hat) He didn’t particularly like the idea of having such an aggressive and volatile pokemon in his possession but he also didn’t want it following him through places filled with people that could potentially provoke it, not that he was concerned it might attack other people, he just didn't want it to attack him. So he made a compromise to take it with him while in the safety of a ball, and it surprisingly obliged.
There is ONE perk though. Hatterene HATES Belphegor. He’s loud and hostile and his vibes are terrible. He is everything Hatterenes hate in a human. If Fran tries to use Hatterene in battle while Bel is nearby it will turn it’s focus straight to him. Sometimes Fran does it on purpose because honestly Bel deserves it majority of the time. Her Fairy typing also directly counters Bel’s favored dark type.
Belphegor- Gonna be honest, I’ve tried to put a lot of thought into Bel for this AU but he is incredibly difficult to work with. It’s hard for me to assign him pokemon because I just can’t seem to find any that are good enough to fit his vibes. Or in his case bad enough. The main thing I decided for him was that he would have a focus on dark types and two of his pokemon would be a shiny Absol and the exception to his preference, Gengar. Alolan Persian, Deino, Weavile, and Skuntank are pretty solid contenders but i’m not 100% on all of them yet. Tho I do like the idea of both of the twins having meowth, Bel ending up with alolan persian and Rasiel ending up with Kantonian Persian.
Absol’s are considered bad omens, bringers of disaster and death, and that is exactly what comes to those whose paths are crossed by this crimson visage. It’s presence is a warning that it’s master is near. Bel has had this fearsome partner since he was a child, it’s first appearance before him marking the “death” of his brother. Since then Bel has been a beacon for disaster, anywhere he goes he happily brings death with him, and that is why Absol is never far from his side. Always there to be a warning, or a threat, to those who venture too close or are unfortunate enough to have Bel’s sights set on them.
The exception to his preference in dark types is Gengar. He liked it’s vibe and got it as a direct response to Fran’s Hatterene being a constant pain. Though head-to-head it does come down more to skill than typing since both have disadvantage and weakness against the other. Generally they tend to be pretty even in power.(when you don’t consider the fact that Fran doesn’t really put much effort into battles.)
Chrome- Chrome isn’t one for battle when it comes to pokemon and doesn’t really have a preference. For Chrome her pokemon are therapeutic and a source of comfort in her day to day. Her pokemon are Musharna, Sylveon, Togetic, Shiny Audino, Kirlia, and Gothorita. Pokemon that specialize in soothing the fears and anxiety of their trainers, and bringing them happiness. Her very first partner was a Munna.
It isn’t uncommon for doctors to use pokemon as assistants for a variety of medical treatments. Though they were not exclusive to that ward, munna were often found in the pediatric ward at night. They provided assurance and comfort to recovering children, soothing their dreams and eating away the nightmares. Though there was little hope she would survive, Chrome had one assigned to her bedside. A small comfort during what would likely be her last few nights. Her moments of consciousness were short and scarce, so her dreams were all she had left.
Up until Mukuro’s odd intervention, Munna remained snug by her side. It would sometimes visit her in her dreams, providing some company within her peaceful, yet lonely world. After all what company could she dream of if everyone had abandoned her? When she awakened and had miraculously stabilized due to Mukuro’s aid she just so happened to take the Munna with her on her way out of the hospital.
Ryohei- While not one I tend to think too much on and I dont have a full party thought out for him, I recently decided I like the idea of him having Mega-Lopunny. I know that seems like an odd choice, because it is, everyone thinks it's an odd pokemon for him to have, including himself, but under no circumstances would he ever consider removing it from his team because it was a gift.
When his little sister Kyoko became a trainer the first thing she did was try to find a pokemon she could give to her big brother as a gift, as a way of showing him she was capable of catching pokemon on her own and to thank him for helping her get to that point. At the time Buneary felt like a good fit in her eyes because it was cute and its ears seemed to pack the kinda punch Ryohei liked his pokemon to have.
Ryohei was overjoyed by the gift and didnt question in the slightest why she would give him a normal type when he specialized in fighting types, he was just proud of his sister. His synergy with Lopunny is surprisingly solid as it makes for a good pseudo fighting type, and in it's mega form it not only becomes a proper fighting type it also gains the ability to PUNCH GHOSTS which is cool as hell!
Once Kyoko is a little older she feels kind of embarrassed about her choice given Ryoheis type preference but he insists Lopunny is amazing and gladly shows off it's power to anyone when given the chance, making sure everyone knows it's because of his little sister he has such a powerful partner. This does not help ease her embarrassment. Ryohei eventually returned the favor by gifting her a stufful. Something that suited her that was cute and strong, and also because Haru had one and he knew how much Kyoko loved it.
Bianchi- Instead of going full poison types like I originally planned to, I started liking the idea of her having food themed pokemon that are just kinda wrong. She's the only char I have considered taking some liberties with the canon designs and typing of her pokemon. At the moment I hc her having Alcremie, Vanilluxe, and Tsareena. All "shiny" though people are sure Bianchi's pokemon were not always those sickly off-colors. Their designs would be more warped/melted with tsareena being an exception as she seemed to have a better response to it's trainer-inflicted poison typing. (A G-maxed Alcremie in her possession would be a horrific sight)
Bianchi herself isn't doing this intentionally to her pokemon and also doesn't seem to notice their differences. Her love for her pokemon and the care she provides for them are genuine, they just somehow always end up “wrong”. Their sickly appearances haven't hindered their ability to function in battle and they actually seem to be unusually stronger than their average counterparts.

hurgh....ace attorney but its pokemon
i boot up my switch. i check the news. i see the trailer for the crown tundra. i immediately get pokemon brainrot
anyway heres some half-baked ideas for an au with some help from ppl in the narumitsu discord gdsngksns (it got long so it’s under the cut)
gym leaders. everyone’s a gym leader. also i’m stealing the concept of the gym challenge from swsh because that SLAPS
whatever region theyre in thats based on japanifornia it’s pretty lax with their gym leaders. the gyms have to be branded based on what type they specialise in but the gym leaders can use basically whatever they want. as a result a lot of them lean more heavily on specific gimmicks during battle (remember how half of raihans team isnt even dragon type because they have weather abilities? yeah that but everyone could get away with it if they wanted to)
phoenix, larry, and miles did their gym challenge at the same time, that’s how they met and became friends. larry bailed out after the 7th gym, phoenix lost to miles in the semifinals and miles lost the final match of the finals, before he could get a chance to face the champion
miles moved to another region a few months after the gym challenge, and when phoenix turned 18 he moved to the other side of the region for college, so they lost touch for a few years. they meet again when they all become gym leaders in the same year. they’ve all changed a lot but they recognise each other almost instantly.
the first gym challenge after they become gym leaders is also when maya, klavier and apollo sign up for the gym challenge. (maybe trucy, athena and pearl as well but wouldnt they be super young i dunno)
oh yeah gym leaders.......hang on here they are in order
gumshoe - runs a normal type gym, but his team actually consists almost entirely of dogs. his partner is a bibarel.
phoenix - runs a fire type gym. i didn’t put any thought into this. the only reason he’s a fire gym leader in this au is because someone in the narumitsu server mentioned him having a fletchling as his partner and i liked the idea too much. his partner is a talonflame.
larry - runs a psychic type gym. this comes as a shock to basically everyone because “psychic-type specialist” brings about a certain mental image and he aint it, chief. he just thinks psychic types are neat. also he has an alakazam who hates him. his partner is an espeon.
mia - runs a ghost type gym, but she doesn’t lean into it that much. i don’t know what her gimmick is. her partner is a froslass or a chandelure (i never decided. i could see diego being a fire type specialist and giving her a litwick as a gift)
iris & dahlia - run a fairy type gym together. they inherited it from someone, probably. their gym’s main gimmick is double battles, which doesn’t work out great for them. they’re incredibly competent trainers on their own, but in double battles they’re rarely on the same wavelength. iris’ partner is a mimikyu. dahlia’s partner is a galarian weezing (or maybe a salazzle)
kristoph - runs a poison type gym. i thought it was funny. i never bothered to figure out what his partner is because i haven’t played aa4 in a LONG time.
blackquill - runs a flying type gym. his team is all birds, and they’re all best friends with him. there’s a reason NPCs can’t use stuff like affection (that thing where your pokemon spontaneously cure themselves of status conditions and tough out fainting blows bc they love you so much) but blackquill’s team can and they’re so op, pls nerf. i didn’t decide what his partner is.
miles - runs a dragon type gym. the von karmas are essentially dragon tamers, so once he started training under them he became skilled with dragon types as well. his partner is a bisharp that he doesn’t use in battle (at first, anyway...)
there’s no elite four. i like sword and shield, sue me.
manfred von karma is the champion of the region. he’s corrupt as fuck. idk i only thought out like 20% of this au
some miscellaneous shit:
mia wants to retire after the gym challenge and pass her gym on to maya.
kristoph is also corrupt as fuck. probably doing some chairman rose bullshit behind the scenes. klavier inherits his gym because kristoph got arrested lmao
phoenix has a salazzle on his team. he got it from dahlia
i havent decided what partner pokemon the challengers have, but i like the idea of klavier having a toxtricity. after he takes over kristoph’s gym, he makes it music-themed and all his pokemon use sound-based attacks like echoed voice and perish song
franziska is probably the champion of whatever region is based on germany. her partner is an altaria
idk if or where diego appears in this au but if he does he’s got beef with phoenix because they both use fire types and he’s disproportionately mad about it gkldsngkl im not funny
gregory edgeworth specialised in steel types (which is why miles has a bisharp). he’s probably still dead but i don’t know how he dies
maybe the first thing phoenix realises after meeting miles again is “hey i thought you didn’t like dragon types what’s up with that” but idk
something phoenix DEFINITELY realised is that he’s got a type disadvantage on miles now. on their gym challenge he had the upper hand when it came to fletchling vs. pawniard because fire > steel, but dragon resists fire so every time they fight miles wipes the floor with him dskfjsdkfjk
if trucy or any of the gramaryes are in this au maybe they’re psychic type specialists? :eyes:
if athena’s here she has a pikachu. i just think it would be funny. (but seriously i like the idea of her being an electric specialist. i have not seen jack shit about aa5 or 6)
oh speaking of shit i dont know about 5 or 6: aura might be here? if she is she’s a steel type user. her partner is a skarmory which is the sister of simon’s skarmory. it slaps
thats your lot. if you have any other ideas lemme know bc i think this is a neat concept but im way too lazy to do anything with it

Obey Me Characters as Pokemon Trainers AU (Pt. 2):
Part 2 is finally here! Read Part 1 here! Again, the pokemon chosen were considered based on character personality, appeal to said character, Pokedex entries, and, in the demon brothers' cases, their respective sin they represent.
Asmodeus: This demon trainer of Lust is all about fashion and appearances, meaning he prefers Pokemon Contests over battling. If he does engage another trainer, his brothers, or the MC, he will surprisingly put forth an effort if he notices that his pokemon party actually want to battle and dirty up their precious costumes. Since Asmodeus rules the pokemon contest industry, both the personalities of Asmo and his pokemon charming the industry and their fan club without fail, I would think Asmo would be a Normal type. His team will wreak havoc ob his opponents when all of his pokemon know the move "Attract." Vietnam war flashbacks to Whitney and her Miltank
Asmo's team would consist of: Sylveon (originally an Eevee), Wigglytuff, Cinccino, Blissey, Staraptor (refer to its Platinum entry), and Lopunny.
Honorable mentions: Audino, Chatot, and Purugly (when caught as a Glameow; was horrified that it evolved into Purugly. Emphasis on ugly, but still loves it nonetheless)
Legendary: Meloetta
"You are such an ADORABLE trainer! You're so cute that my pokemon and I could just eat you up!~"
Beelzebub/Beel: Beel as a demon trainer would look VERY intimidating due to his height and body build, he is actually a softie and a major foodie; he likes traveling with his brothers to different regions and their respective cities and towns to try signature dishes. Unfortunately for all the chefs, they love Beel as their regular customer, but ultimately hate the fact that he's literally eating the restaurants out of house and home, and kick him out in order to restock on food and other supplies. Don't worry, once the restaurants are fully stocked, the chefs graciously allow him back in, serving him and his twin brother Belphie to a free meal, accompanied by a dessert of their choice, also on the house.
Considering Beel's insatiable appetite, his loving nature towards his family, and his physical strength and physique, I can see him as a dual trainer of Normal and Steel types, leaning more towards Steel pokemon due to their resistance of Poison and sheer endurance to most of the other elemental typings.
Beel's pokemon would be: Ursaring, Munchlax (later evolved into Snorlax, sweetly reminding him of Belphie when apart), Alolan Sandslash, Copperajah, Aggron, and Bastiodon.
Honorable mentions: Steelix, Solgaleo as "the beast that devours the Sun"
Legendary: Melmetal (see Shield pokedex entry) or Solgaleo.
"I'm hungry. After this battle, wanna go grab something to eat together?"
Belphegor/Belphie: Y'all know Caitlin from Unova's Elite Four? That's Belphie. All this pokemon demon trainer wants to do is sleep and spend time with his twin brother Beel. Out of all of his brothers, Belphie is by far the most ruthless of all when it comes to pokemon battling, but doesn't like to show it until after you can't run away from a trainer battle. You wish you could. Belphie would be a very powerful Ghost type user. If you wake him to battle, only for the battle to be time that "I could be using sleeping," you will pay dearly your life. The only two people who have the honor to wake him for a battle are Beel and MC, only after MC proves themselves as a competent trainer.
Belphie's pokemon team would consist of: Gengar, Bannette, Spiritomb, Jellicent, Golurk, and Mimikyu.
Honorable mentions: Decidueye, Palossand
Legendary: Lunala or Hoopa, alternating Hoopa's forms depending on the battle.
"*YAAAAAAAWWWNNN* ....You woke me up to battle? ...Fine, but if this turns out to be a waste of time I could be using to sleep, you're suffering will be slow and painful."
Diavolo + Soon-to-be Dateables
Diavolo: This Demon Lord trainer is of course, the Champion of the Devildom, succeeding his dad. Diavolo is a trainer with many great titles and even greater status, but that doesn't stop him from swinging by each school in the Devildom to have fun with the younger demons and learn all about the latest trends and memes. Diavolo himself is a big kid himself, never thinking twice about his child-like actions in front of nobles or any demon trainer with a high status. He's very charming and charismatic upfront, and is the kind of demon you could talk to or joke about anything without feeling nervous. Diavolo knows that the only reason he's so laid back and fun-loving is thanks to Lucifer, so he trusts and appreciates Lucifer a great deal.
Taking into account Diavolo's personality and status, I would deem him as an expert in Dragon type pokemon, embodying the many personalities Dragon type pokemon have. They enjoy having as much fun as Diavolo does, and both are forces to be reckoned with.
Diavolo would have the following team members: Duraludon, Salamence, Dragonite, Tyrantrum, Haxorus, and Dragapult. Diavolo loves seeing Dragapult yeet Dreepy to their opponents because he finds it funny every time.
Legendary: Giratina, gifted to him from his father after beating him in battle and becoming Champion
"Being both a Demon Lord and a Champion is such a draaaag! Nobody wants to challenge me because they're intimidated by me, I guess. How about you an I have a little fun with a pokemon battle? Don't hold anything back from me!"
Barbatos: His ability to see alternate timelines and universes and manipulate them to his will leads me to the obvious: Psychic. Between caring for the royal family and their grand palace, he can't find the time to battle with his pokemon as a stress reliever, unless Diavolo orders him to battle him and to "have fun" while battling him. Even though Barbatos apparently knows all and sees all, he nonetheless humors Diavolo already knowing the outcome.
Barbatos's team: Gallade, Gardevoir, Alakazam, Espeon, Xatu, and Gothitelle.
Honorable mentions: Orbeetle and Indeedee (one male, one female whom he asks them to help with his daily tasks in the Devildom's royal palace.)
Legendaries: Dialga and Palkia: They both assist Barbatos when he uses his abilities to maintain order amongst the alternate timelines and universes, and keep him from over-exerting himself in the process.
"Would you like to challenge me in a pokemon battle? Haha, no need to answer that, I already know that that's what you want."
Luke: Precious child of God. Very defensive and reluctant to associate with demons, but over time begins caring for them. He favors Beel the most out of all the brothers, but will never admit it outright to anyone no matter how obvious it is to everyone else. Enjoys baking more than battling, so his team isn't fully evolved. He won't battle unless Simeon is training him in battle or Luke challenges trainers in the Celestial Realm that are around the same age and level as he is. Because of his personality as of now, he would be a Grass type trainer.
Luke's team: Treeko, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Snover, and Bounsweet.
Honorable mentions: Snivy and Milcery, with Milcery helping Luke bake in the kitchen, and Skiddo
Legendary: Celebi or Jirachi
"What? You want to battle m-m-me?! Why? I know I'm not that strong, but I think it won't hurt to try!"
Simeon: Literally Luke's guardian angel in the place of Michael the Archangel during their time in the Devildom. He's very patient with everyone, especially with Luke. His patience gives off an impression that Simeon is a grounded angel who thinks things through before speaking and acting. But if someone hurts Luke in any way, all logic and patience goes out the window, as he will savagely check the individual and pray to God asking for forgiveness. Ground types would be Simeon's cup of tea.
Simeon's team: Torterra, Gliscor, Mamoswine, Flygon, Rhyperior, and Mudsdale.
Legendary: Suicune or Ho-oh
"I think I may be missing something in Luke's lessons as his mentor in both battling and teaching about the ways of the three Realms. Think you could help me figure out what I'm missing with a friendly pokemon battle?"
Solomon: Very mysterious human trainer who doesn't talk much about himself. Is he a rival or friend? It's difficult to tell, but he hasn't done anything to raise any alarms, so the MC deems him as decent for now. But why does he act like he knows something that everyone else doesn't? Because of his seemingly shady impression he gives to others, whether he realizes it or not, makes him a Poison type trainer.
Solomon's team: Roserade, Venusaur, Naganadel, Salazzle, Crobat, and Drapion.
Legendary: Eternatus or Kyurem
"Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?"
