Hello! I've been trying to get into Moonflower recently (Dandy's World) because the ship seems to really work out (ESPECIALLY when you draw it, my compliments to you!), but it hasn't been able to stick with me.

Allow me to…sprinkle headcanon lore on your skull (like dandruff)

Astro admires Dandy’s bravery to act on stage and stand up for himself and others off the stage.

Dandy makes Astro feel very very admired, so all his insecurities kind of melt around Dandy. He’s typically a quiet, reserved, and rather hidden away Toon. But around Dandy, he becomes more talkative, passionate, and really doesn’t mind showing off his four arms which is his BIGGEST insecurity.

Astro struggles to defend himself in arguments or anyone else for that matter despite whether he has the passion to do so or not, but bringing Dandy into an argument will get your ass knocked out. (Literally, he’ll put you to sleep via magic as a kind way of saying “shut the hell up”)

Astro does have a more hot-headed, annoyed side, but it’s normally hidden under anxiety and concern.

Astro tries to impress Dandy all the time with the smallest, most unnoticeable acts. (Helping around more, doing things for Dandy without him knowing until he surprises him i.e. cleaning his toon room or supplying his shop, etc.) Dandy in fact always knows and always notices.

Astro often keeps Dandy under control in aggressive situations, pulling him back from arguments before someone gets hurt. (or he’ll pull Dandy back so he can tag himself in.)

Dandy and Astro often spend nights together because Dandy gets frequent nightmares Astro can’t always catch up with. This is due to the stress of being the mascot and main face, after all. The mains typically have more nightmares than the others simply from stress related events.

In Dandy’s dreams, Astro is very often resting in the background as an observer. He visits after everyone else’s dreams are secure, and simply wants to either hang out with Dandy’s subconscious or observe to make sure everything is okay.

Dandy and Astro have necklaces of each other that they both created themselves. They are not sold publicly as merch, it’s like Sprout and Cosmo’s bracelets (basic definition and sentiment wise) except as necklaces. It’s how they can tell each other apart from clones (mainly Astro, Dandy doesn’t get clones.) (This is also attached to Clone Theory which I can explain in another post.)

Physical touch is both of their love languages. But this is normally like…hand holding. Nonetheless, it embarrasses Astro a lot in public but BRO DON’T WANNA LET GO!! But when they’re chilling together at home they’re cuddlin’ n stuff, being sweethearts and probably watching horror movies.

They love each other with all their heart.

On an unrelated note:

Ninjago Fic Rec Week (2024): Day 4

As The Years Pass By: A fic currently in the process of being rewritten/reworked but still chock full of next-gen Dragons Rising goodness! And it stars the one, the only, Jenna and Ethan from @rainofthetwilight!!!! This fic made me fall in love with her characters and I've loved reading/seeing/drawing these two adorable kids ever since!!!!

Dad!Jay AU by @taddymason: An AU so good I'm still catching up on reading it bit by bit to savor it for longer *-*)9 All the stories in this series are worth the read alone for the accumulation of taddy's character Kaida (a girl who needs no introduction–she's that awesome guys, trust me) but also the eventual father-daughter bond with amnesiac!Jay that is gripping and engaging aaaaall the wall through!!

I Carve This Poem From the Harshest of Storms: Another I'm not caught up with YET (a running theme for this Fic Week, it seems hgfhgfdfgds i'm sorry I'm slow and have a short-attention span). It follow two fascinating peeps in The Administration following The Merge, and without giving too much away, @theartsyswissapple ‘s voices for the characters just POP and make them feel SO real and it's been intriguing to read so far so yeah others should give it a try too!!!

What it Takes for You to See Me: A Spinjitzu bros story with added FSM and Mystake goodness too!!! This is one I've just started reading myself, but you know I love some throwbacks to Wu and Garmadon's past! And the OC here, @marhan-writes-n-draws's Amka, fits into the setting like a glove!!

Honeycomb: Gotta give a shoutout to @miqotepotatoe's Lucy while I'm here too!! Some short, sweet snippets of the Ninja Team's best (and most yellow) cheerleader!! I love her dynamic with everyone, and especially Cole <3

The Space Between Us: A very deep and heart-wrenching introspective into @k1ngtok's characters Lynda and Jamie, Master(s) of Space. It's story about siblings and bonds at its core, but also be mindful of tag of you're looking to dig deeper! (it also takes place in legacyverse technically but that's neither here or there I promise)

Flowery Language Another super funny and endearing story by King following Jesse (hey it's my boy!!) and Antonia on the case to discover who's been leaving flowers in Jesse's locker (spoiler: it's not Cole lmao). It's actually a semi-sequel to this old thing *I* wrote however long ago, but thaaaat's not required reading (though it does help). If you want more of a fix for the Jesse-Antonia duo + more of Jamie, this is the story to read!

Learning to Love (Again): Yet another King fic based in legacyverse (a coincidence), this one kiiiind of takes place during Season 2/Book 3 and follows Jamie on his quest to truly show his friends (Nya, Antonia, Harumi, Jesse, and...Olivia?!) just how much he cares about them through the power of love languages over the course of a week and it is AWESOOOOOOOOME!! Soooo many touching and feel-good moments, mostly soft slice-of-life with teenagers being teenagers, and is a great pick-me up when your soul is feeling sad ;w;)/ I advocate for this one just for the warm soft friendshippy-feelings it gives me alone!!! AAAAAA—

Something About Morning Glories: Jesse (oop there he is again) takes it upon to himself to comfort Jay after the latter finds himself concerned about something following obtaining his True Potential. A duo I desperately want to write more about but can't yet, so this little bit of foundation for their relationship will have to suffice for now ;w;)/

(and if you're still clamoring for more of a certain magic pink fool, there's plenty more where that came from; perhaps there may be a Jesse-Antonia friendship origin story on deck soon, along with maybe some DR stuff~! ...listen there will never be a good chance to self-advertise like this again!! In the Company of the Stars: A tale as old as time—a Royal!AU where the fair groundskeeper of a palace's garden (that's the OC) falls head over heels for the prince far out of his league (that's Cole)—except, the prince absolutely likes him back...albeit only as his secret, suave alter-ego. But is that really true—and, more importantly, is there bigger problems to deal with right now???? There's romance, mystery, good food, royal drama, angst, fluff, sabotage, magic, a whole bunch of flowers, Harumi causing chaos on purpose, Skylor throws Chad across a room, Jay goes on a rampage a some point, Kai can't flirt to save his life—the author just needs some fresh motivation to post the darn next chapter already because the ending's gonna be really really good ;V

HC: Looking at all the promotional art, I believe Sonetto and Schneider would have been friends.

Regulus and Vertin's relationship have a similar same vibe as Sonetto and Schneider's. That friend who drives you nuts but you're a pretty awesome duo.

Vertin's involvement might complicate things but I can see them teaming up on her when she does something stupid or fighting side by side to protect the crew.

If I had to use the lore and context around Reverse 1999 to explain how Vertin, Sonetto, and Schneider's dynamic would work, it'd be a compromise. While others may say Vertin would be the reason they fight, I'd say she's one of the things that draws them together and makes them appreciate each other. Here is how I see it:

Schneider understands what it means to sacrifice and provide for a family. She knows the struggle of fighting against a world constantly taking from you. She and Vertin have a natural chemistry because of these experiences. Sonetto understands this and instead of being jealous (not that she isn't at times but she learns to let go), comes to realize its good for Vertin's mental health. They "get" each other. At the end of the day, Sonetto wants what's best for Vertin.

While there was turbulence in the past, Sonetto's devotion to the Timekeeper is unwavering. Vertin isn't impartial either since we know Sonetto lives rent free in her head from the trails (analysis of this here). Sonetto grew up and is willing to cast aside her faith in the Foundation if it means protecting Vertin. Schneider finds that admirable and its gives her a sense of security. Sonetto is someone she can depend on, which is a big deal considering she's used to being the "rock" in her family holding everyone up.

At first its like "I need to keep you around for Vertin's sake."

But then it turns into "I'm happy you're here."

Vertin's always making sacrifices for people. They'd rather compromise than force her into a position they know she can't handle (no matter what Vertin decides, someone will get hurt).

On that note, they do exist outside of Vertin. Schneider might enjoy telling Sonetto about her home country while Sonetto eagerly listens. Sonetto doesn't know much about the outside world, but she can share insight on the world of arcanum. Its utterly insane and Schneider is amused by this. They teach each other things and also complain to each other about Vertin's gremlin ways.

Moving on, it's possible to have complicated feelings for more than one person. The important thing is deciding on whether or not you want to pursue a future with with them.

I'm about to drop a hot take so hot it could burn you. This is an opinion that ties into my HC. Ok, here I go.

Love isn't just feelings, it's work. You need to put work into a relationship or else it'll fall apart.

There are so many people on this earth. In my eyes it's normal to going to have chemistry or complicated feelings for more than one person in your lifetime.

But you choose the people you love out of the other potential candidates because you see a future with them. It's not about what you feel today but what you're going to feel years down the line so you devote your time and energy to those people in you life. You see something worth fighting for which is why you commit to those people (could apply to all relationships honestly).

That's why I HC Sonetto and Schneider like this. They could move on. Sure it'll hurt, but its not impossible. However, they found someone they want that future with. Someone with a lot of love to give yet asks for none in return, which is really sad tbh. If Vertin's not going to love herself then damn it they will! Maybe its unconventional and sometimes difficult, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it.

oh my GOD you guys @burrotello's AU is SOOO good!!!!!! the TADC fandom just has the best artists, every AU i've seen is so creative and fun and this one is an exception because IT'S. EVEN. BETTER.

i cannot express how much i love her artstyle and how much expression she can convey through her art.. so i'll just link the boxer AU masterpost here and let you guys see for yourselves!

for now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: toby and diane! you already know toby if you know me and/or my involvement in the TADC fandom - my OC, very strongly based on agent 47. diane is a new face, though, because she was created with the intention of being toby's handler! (she's based off diana burnwood, obviously.)

the duo and a description of their relationship:

toby is 150 cm (which is his height in the TADC universe as well), while diane towers over him at 187 cm.

since toby is based off a rubber duck, which is meant to be a gag, i decided to incorporate that into his defense - it's meant to act as a way for the opponent to be unable to see him, since he's so small.

his homing briefcase is his ultimate attack. it's a good thing there's not any water in the boxing ring, or we'd be seeing players drop dead left and right!

also to bounce off toby's duck self, diane is a fox because, well, she's a sly fox! she's based off diana even more than toby is off agent 47, because, while i take a lot of liberties with toby (make him swear more than 47, make him act wayyy more caring and open than he does in hitman), diane is literally almost the same. her wits, sarcasm, beauty, everything is kept in this awesome fox lady. (it was also my first time drawing an anthropomorphic fox, which was sooo fun! i did some warm-up, messy sketches too. i swear the furries are gonna claim me soon, drawing anthros is sooo fun you guys.)

toby's fighter name is "agent T" because i didn't want it to be THAT obvious by naming him 47, but... his HP speaks for itself. i know his stats just SCREAM "mary sue", so SUE ME. he's a damn good fighter!... if only the fight club was fair, then he'd get the proper compensation.

there are a lot of references sprayed throughout their descriptions that i haven't even begun to cover, including lines of dialogue. can you find them? 👀

had the idea of designing a buttload of minds a bit ago, then recently this week i decided the same for soul. doodled him at school, then showed him to my friend via whiteboardfox :]. i draw Dyadra semi different now than there, but all his design is the same. rope neck that coils up inside his body when not in use, oversized pointy teeth (went monochromatik style with human teeth originally but nah), frizzly uhkempt hair, and a trident through his head. he’s always bleeding from the roof of his mouth, whether the trident is retracted into his skull or not. i love him so much😭💛. he has a full body and even a cute little gut but that’s kept for later for now. consider this a teaser of my inner workings :monk_devious:

ive been drawing him *SOOo* muchhh aaugha…can’t wait to show you when i can :]. building a batch of art for a tumblr post that i’ll dump later today maybe. get ready for some fun and gore galore~ (its not too gorey, just the trident-through-head-hes-always-choking-on-his-own-blood concept in full force. yummy ideas have to be explored huhu)

I absolutely love your Hades au, do you have any planned dialogue between characters? Because I would really love to see a trial of the gods between Leia and Anakin, the pettiness is palpable.

I don't exactly go about this AU from a coherent story-writing point of view, I just want to see all these characters (and some places) drawn in the game's style. So usually the way I go about the dialogues is either to go and whine to some of my amazing writer friends until they take pity on me (as it has been the case with Rex, and much earlier with Boba), or spend a week or two sweating over a single one-liner ^^;

With trial of the gods, I think the dialogue is rather aimed at the player in a "You better pick me first next time, but you're lukcy I still like you" (which, of course can still be petty as hell) - so what I'd rather love to see is a Duo Boon with Leia and Anakin :D that's where the gods/boon-giver characters interact and react to each other, now that would be super passive agressive anywhere with these two! (although I don't think it's possible to get a duo or even a trial of the gods with Hermes, and that's where Leia is cast in this AU. She's a very important political/rebel figure, she's always in a rush, I think it fits.)

(I kind of wish my main criteria for picking the god characters hadn't been "make them mostly Jedi" (and Boba and Cobb) because that really cuts down on their possible interactions, if you want to imagine them like that.... but these were also the characters I wanted to draw so... Priorities had shifted along the lines, I suppose ^^;)

All that said I do have a one-liner in mind for Din's meeting with Obi-wan ("Now, I wonder where I have last seen someone roundkick a droid's head clean off like that."); and I've had a few alternative ideas for Maul's monologuing that very much shows the effect Mand'alor Darasuum has had on me. (Maul finally gets a teeny tiny apprentice in that one, as a small detail. It's awesome, I still need to finish reading it and leave a comment, but in the meantime I'll rec it here!)

Maul: "Hunger. Raw meat. Best devoured while it still wriggles - good, good. We've got quite a little carnivore on our hands it seems. Such potential is entirely wasted on pacifism and the Jedi way." Din: "So you are not a Jedi, then?"

And then it was real fun to imagine the indignant rage Maul would fly into for that accusation XD

There is also one line for Maul in my notes for when Din goes to see him with Ahsoka's token in his pocket:

Maul: "You have something else Force-touched on you. Not you, of course, you are as blank in the Force as a Mandalorian can ever hope to be, but something... brighter."

And there was also the one that was too tempting and thus had to be cast aside where Maul points out that he had been Mand'alor once, and the Darksaber still remembers him, to which Din's natural reaction (who has not yet been enlightened about that particular part of Mandalorian history by anyone hanging out around home base) is of course "Neat, do you want it back?"

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! I’m beginning a small series of doodles to celebrate, they won’t be daily (or on any schedule for that matter), just when I get around to them! The plan is to draw characters from lots of media I like with their (canon or headcanon) pride flags! They’ll mostly be characters in groups, some will be ships or just duos, while others might be grouped by flag! (For example, I might do a group of characters I headcanon as bi from House, because they’re not in a specific ship or because there are a lot of them.) I also will likely yap about the characters underneath the image, but I’ll try to put a cut there. Let’s see how many I can get done this month! Here’s the first one:

I decided to start with these two because I remembered I still have to finish Scorch Trials, and I miss them SO BAD. I see a lot of Newt and Thomas which I can definitely agree with and think they’re very cute together but like. Cmon. They were the gay dads of the Glade ok. They’re THE doomed couple. Absolutely miserable. And I love them. They are definitely dating ok. Also turns out newt is canonically gay which is AWESOME good for him I’m so joyous. I was originally drawing it already as a headcanon but then found that out so HEY!!! YIPPEE!!! Alright that’s all I miss them they make me so devastated.

✦ Ranpo knows everything. His little one shouldn’t even bother trying to hide anything. He is the world’s greatest detective after all! He’ll recognize that they’re starting to slip before they even notice! He’s super good at avoiding tantrums thanks to that. Before the baby can even process they’re upset, he’s already taking care of the issue!

✦ Ranpo is also amazing with a non-verbal little! He doesn’t need to hear anything to know what they want! He can just tell. Some caregivers might struggle between differentiating different whines. Hungry or uncomfortable? But Ranpo knows! He’ll take note of tummy grumbles, shifting in clothes, drooping of eyes, everything! Plus he thinks all the little whines and babbles sound a little bit different!

✦ His little one gets so many sweets! He’ll be careful they don’t have to much of course. Tummy aches are super yucky (,,>﹏<,,) But as long as they’re not making themselves sick he’ll let them have as much as they want! Taking from his own stash of course. No one else is allowed to touch Ranpo’s stash, but for his baby? Of course! They deserve the best!

✦ Ranpo always encourages games that require thinking! For big kids that can be Rubik’s cubes or puzzles. For a little baby all he asks is that they draw not just color! Gotta keep those creative juices flowing to get super smart like he is!

✦ Anxious little one? Yeah… Not with Ranpo! He wouldn’t even give them a chance to be anxious. The second he notices anything he’s explaining to them how amazing they are! They can just have an off-handed thought bad about themselves, suddenly here comes Ranpo to the rescue! “Y’know you’re awesome right? The cutest baby in the world. Wanna come to my desk for some candy?”

✦ Ranpo would love a clingy little though! I don’t think he’d be super strong, but he’s strong enough to pick up his little one! For a short period of time at least. He’ll happily run around with them, off to solve some mysteries with the Ultimate Detective and the Mini Detective! Aka the best duo ever. If anyone doubts that fact he’ll explain why they’re wrong! ✦ Pet names with Ranpo are super sweet! (Haha sweet, get it? I’m so funny) There’s some classics “Honey” “Sugar” “Sweet Thing” Ranpo can also have some pet names that would be considered negative? But he says them with love! “My little Dummy” “Dumb dumb” “Tiny brain” The self confidence never wavers! Oh oh I also think he’d say like “You’re so cute I could gobble you right up!” Then do the thing where he pretends to eat his baby Σ(°Δ° ꪱꪱꪱ) It tickles a whole lot!

✦ If for any reason Ranpo has to set his baby down he’ll whine just as much as they do! Even if he’s just setting them down to grab a snack, all the way to the counter then all the way back they’ll be hearing “Ughhhh It’s no fairrrr. I just want to cuddle my little baby! Why are the snacks so far away! It’s very rude. Don’t you think Sugar?” He expects babbles in response! He doesn’t wanna just be talking to himself of course!

✦ He’ll always remind his baby how much he loves them! Always always always! It’s part of his strategy to stop the anxiety before it starts! He says how much he loves them all the time! While they’re playing, watching a show, sitting down to eat. No occasion is to small to remind his baby of his love for them!
