I haate to phrase it this way but the immediate thought that comes to mind is "Who do they think they are?" And I don't mean this in an accusing way, I mean genuinely they do not have the status to pull something like this off! They don't have the quantity of content or fanbase or views for this.
If I was Ryan, Shane and Steven right now, I'd be fucking petrified.
I'm sure, based on the last 6 years of consuming their content, that Watcher TV was not pitched as "easy money". I'm even more certain that they never thought in a million years they'd alienate and devastated their hard-earned fan base with the news.
All they needed to do was some fucking research. 5.99 a month is just too much for the vast majority of YouTube consumers to plump on something for so narrow in it's content. As high as the quality is, and as genuinely beloved as the Watcher boys are, it's absolutely fucking absurd to think that charging the same price as a service like fucking CrunchyRoll, is appropriate in any way.
If they'd have set the paywall lower. Like 1.99 a month, I think most people would be happy to support the endeavour, as long as they are financially able too. But 6 whole fucking dollars a month?! Also the Patreon has to go too. You cannot feasibly ask any audience to pay for two services that essentially do the same fucking thing.
It's not necessarily too late to change the price, apologise HARD, kill the Patreon, clarify what they intend to do with Watchers YouTube content, and do some fucking research!?
I'm actually in a position where I could potentially subscribe during the month's where they're uploading content I want to watch, but I think the principle of it just kinda blows, despite the genuinely good place I think/hope it came from.

The Husband Effect
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader is struck with a love curse that leaves her feeling more than a bit attached to Dean...
Pairing: Dean x reader (eventual)
Word Count: 2,200ish
Warnings: language, angst, love curse, fluff
A/N: Y’all don’t even want to know how old this fic is. Pretty sure it was written during S13. Figured it was time for it to see the light of day!
__________
“Y/N. Y/N. Giggling woman,” you heard Dean say, clapping his hands together. “Hey! Focus.”
“She’s cursed Dean,” said Sam with a smile. “It was some harmless witchcraft. It’ll wear off soon I’m sure.”
“Is she currently trying to climb into your lap? No?” said Dean, pointing at where he was continually shoving you back from him. “Y/N, stop it.”
“I wanna sit with you,” you whined, throwing your arms over his shoulder, nuzzling your cheek against his.
“This is weird,” said Dean, trying to scoot away, Sam biting back back a laugh. “A little help, Sammy!”
“So she’s a little extra clingy. We’ll put her to bed, she’ll sleep it off and in the morning she can be completely embarrassed about this whole thing,” said Sam.
“Why would I be embarrassed about my Deanie?” you asked, squeezing him harder, Dean rising to his feet.
“Come on, Y/N. Off to bed with you. Now.”
“Good morning,” said Sam to you with a teasing smile. “Sleep well?”
“Like a baby,” you said, giving Dean a big hug when he came in the kitchen. “Good morning!”
“Oh no,” said both boys, grimacing as you smushed yourself into Dean’s chest.
“Get the jaws of life for this one,” said Dean, trying to squirm away while you clung tighter. “Y/N, please let go of me so I can eat breakfast.”
“I’m sorry,” you said releasing him, moving your hand down his arm to hold his hand. “That was silly. Your arms are huge by the way. All muscle and strong. They’re so...mmm.”
“Uh huh,” said Dean, giving Sam a death glare. “Sam, your harmless little curse don’t seem so harmless right now.”
“She should have slept it off,” said Sam, taking a seat at the table, Dean pulling you over into one, resigning himself to the fact he wasn’t getting the hand you were holding back anytime soon. “It must be a different curse.”
“No shit. Figure it out for me, would ya? It’s weird having Y/N act all...cuddly,” said Dean.
“Well, she is a girl, Dean,” said Sam.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” asked Dean, your head resting on his shoulder.
“It means she likes hugs and you know, human affection...like a normal person,” said Sam. “You treat her like a guy sometimes.”
“Again, what does that mean?” asked Dean.
“It means when you tell her to buck up and kill the damn spider herself, she comes and asks me to do it. Or when you don’t help her with heavy stuff. She’s tough, don’t get me wrong, but I get the feeling she doesn’t think you care about her nearly half as much as she does you,” said Sam. “...Maybe that’s why she’s only sticking to you. It’s got something to do with that.”
“Y/N,” said Dean, your head lifting up with a smile. “You know I care about you, right?”
“Of course you silly boy,” you said with a smile, bopping him on the nose. “I love you different than Sammy is all.”
“See? She knows,” said Dean, giving you a smile that made your heart flutter.
“You’re so pretty,” you said, Sam rolling his eyes.
“Hey, Y/N. Why don’t you eat breakfast and then Dean can spend the whole day with you while I figure out how to fix you, huh?” asked Sam.
“The whole day with Dean? That sounds amazing,” you said, leaning up and giving Dean a kiss on the cheek.
“Please hurry Sam.”
One Week Later
“I want Dean,” you grumbled as Sam brought your dinner by your room. “Please? I need him.”
“Dean’s researching right now, Y/N,” said Sam, locking up the door behind him, spotting your barely eaten lunch. “You need to eat, Y/N or Dean won’t be happy.”
“Why do I have to stay in my room? I’m not doing anything wrong,” you said, Sam sighing as he took a seat.
“You’re making it hard to research out there, Y/N. You...you’re kind of all over Dean,” said Sam. “He’s not used to attention like that and it’s making him uncomfortable.”
“But you love him and you get to be near him,” you said, scrunching up your face. “Tell him I’m sorry. I’ll do whatever he wants. I just want to see him. Please.”
“Sweetie, it’s the curse that’s making you all nuts for Dean, you have-”
“I always liked him and now that I came out and said it he’s scared of me. Tell him I take it back. I’ll really try to be better,” you said.
“If you eat your dinner, I’ll talk to Dean about coming to see you, alright?” asked Sam, watching as you grabbed your fork. “Good girl.”
“Hi,” you said when you saw your door open, a pair of green eyes peeking in. Everything in you wanted to hop off the bed and run over to give him a hug but you said you’d try to keep it under control.
“Sam said you wanted to see me,” said Dean, hanging by the doorway, watching you start to fidget. “You’re shaking.”
“I’m fine. Are you okay? Can I do anything for you?” you asked, leaning forward and clenching your hands into fists.
“Just give me a hug before you have a heart attack,” said Dean with a sigh, your body responding before your brain, up and over to wrap him up in your arms. “Better?”
“No,” you said. “You don’t like it.”
“I’d rather have a hug because it’s real, not forced,” said Dean, moving your arms away.
“It is real,” you said, cocking your head up at him. “I want to hug you.”
“No, the curse is making you think you want to hug me,” said Dean with a smile. “There’s a slight difference there, sweetheart.”
“But I love you. Everything I’ve said or done, I always want to do,” you said. “I just...don’t have a filter to say ‘don’t do that anymore.’”
“It’s a curse and we’ll solve it, alright?” said Dean. “I don’t want you to get upset about it. We’ll figure it out and get everything back to normal around here.”
“Dean,” you said, moving forward again, Dean already with a hand on the door.
“I promise, Y/N.”
“I don’t know why it didn’t work but you shouting at me doesn’t fix it!” yelled Sam, both boys in the middle of screaming at one another as you sat in the library, doing your best to stay in your seat.
“It’s been two weeks, Sam. Look at her. She’s barely keeping it together,” said Dean, waving over in your direction.
“If I was under a love curse and the other person resented me, I might start to get upset too, Dean,” said Sam. You got to your feet, forcing them to move away and for your bedroom, your movements slowing as you hit the edge of the library. “See?”
“I’m just going back to my room, Sam,” you said over your shoulder, frozen in place with the need to stay near Dean.
“It’s got to be that spell. Figure out what you screwed up,” said Dean, his hand on your arm melting away your bubbling anxiety, replacing it with something soft and warm. Dean didn’t immediately leave when he got you back in your room, instead laying down on your bed, turning on your TV and throwing an arm behind his head.
“What are you doing?” you asked, sitting down next to him, curling into his side with a smile.
“I miss you,” he said, moving his arm around your shoulders, a rush of relief flooding you. “...I’ll take care of you. I know it hurts and yeah I’m not used to all this lovey dovey crap but I’m going to help you through it. If letting you crawl all over me makes you feel better, we’ll do that.”
“Hey, bozos,” said Sam, standing at the end of your bed, stirring you awake. “I didn’t mess it up. It’s on a time delay.”
“Well,” said Dean with a yawn. “How long until it works?”
“Judging by the look on Y/N’s face, it already did,” said Sam. You were glancing at your lap, sitting as far away from Dean as possible. “Are you...”
“I want to be alone, please,” you said, Sam nodding his head and leaving. “You too Dean.”
“It’s okay, it was just a curse,” he said, rubbing a hand up and down your back. “Nothing to be embarrassed about.”
“I told you two weeks ago, Dean,” you said, turning your head over your shoulder. “I don’t love you and Sam the same way. It was a love curse, Dean. All I was trying to do this whole damn time was to make you feel loved.“
“I do feel loved,” said Dean.
“You don’t get it. This isn’t something I can explain to you, Dean. Either you get it or you don’t and you obviously don’t so please give me some space today,” you said.
“I get it,” said Dean, grabbing your wrist and spinning you to face him. “It’s been very clear to me since this whole thing started. I don’t want you to want me though.”
“You don’t get to decide that for me. It’s my life,” you said, trying to shake him off. “Dean...”
“It’s different when’s it’s staring you right in the face and you can’t run away, right? To know that deep down that what someone is saying is true?” he asked.
“If you got hit with that curse, what are the odds that everything you’re spewing out is bull and you do want me but are too scared to say it,” you said. Dean was silent, dropping your hands as you nodded your head. “So what do you want to do about this?”
“If you want to...try, I guess I’m cool with that,” said Dean, shrugging like you were discussing dinner.
“Cool with it?” you asked.
“I ain’t turning into a Hallmark card anytime soon,” said Dean, holding up his hands. “But...your hugs aren’t so bad.”
“Ah, yes. Your definitely wooing me, Dean,” you said, shaking your head.
“Y/N, I’m trying,” said Dean.
“I know. We’ll...take it one day at a time.”
One Year Later
“Hey, you guys remember that freaky curse that made Y/N stick to you like glue?” asked Sam at lunch one day.
“Yeah,” said Dean. “What about it?”
“Well...I translated another spell that references it,” said Sam. “It was used back in the day to help men find wives.”
“That seems like a douche move,” you said, leaning back against the wall, tossing your legs in Dean’s lap.
“No, no. Not like that. It was meant for when a guy loved somebody but was too shy or insecure to say something. If the person didn’t have a reaction, they didn’t feel the same way. If they did, then it sort of proved there was something there,” said Sam.
“It took you a year to find this out?” you asked, Sam shrugging. “Why do I feel like you’re lying Samuel...”
“You know, we never did find out who put such a strangely harmless curse on Y/N either,” said Dean, crossing his arms. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you Sammy?”
“Not a clue,” he said with a smile, glancing back at forth. “Weird, right?”
“I’ll get my fiance to kick your ass you ever pull something like that again,” said Dean.
“I’m really good at kicking ass,” you said, Sam shaking his head.
“I got no idea what you guys are talking about,” said Sam, standing up with a stretch. “I think I’m going to go for a second run while I think about who could have ever done this to you two.”
“Want to destroy him later?” asked Dean, wearing a smirk once he was out of earshot.
“Of course. Not too badly though,” you said.
“Just a touch of destruction for our devious Sammy coming right up,” said Dean with a chuckle. “While we’re at it, it’s been a year since our first date tonight.”
“You got something special planned?” you asked.
“Obviously,” he said. “Mess with Sammy first though?”
“You read my mind.”

Summary: John is embarrassed of the fact you 'wear the pants' in your relationship... But only after the lads come to stay over and a snarky comment from Simon, does he decide to show you what's what. a/n: my first attempt at writing smut that I wanted to post... Also Ghost/Simon is a dick in this one...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John simultaneously is and is not ashamed to say how much he loves you.
Of course, he loves you to bits, finds you the most stunning woman he’s ever seen, and would kill and die for you in a heartbeat. His love was the epitome of “If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself.”
However, he would never risk introducing you to his teammates. Not if he can avoid it. And not just because he cares about you and wants to keep you away from prying eyes, safe and sound in your family home…
More like… they don’t need to know how John purrs when you scratch his beard right beneath his chin and whisper sweet nothings into his ear. They don’t need to see how his pupils almost morph into hearts equally if he sees you in one of his shirts, or in your work clothes, or in joggers and a sweaty t-shirt, or a sexy little number, or nude…
And they especially don’t need to know that their tough-as-nails Captain figuratively rolls over and bares his neck in submission when in the presence of his wife… Or that your voice is like a goddamn foghorn making him genuinely quake in a way he hasn’t since he was a boy at Sandhurst, getting yelled at by drill sergeants…
He hasn’t left the toilet seat up in 12 years. Hasn’t tracked mud into your shared home (whose floors you had just mopped!) in 10. Hasn’t eaten the last of your snacks or used the last of the tea bags without replacing it in 6.
There is no weaponized incompetence in your home because you know John is not incompetent and you will not allow him to feign being it to make you his maid. You take care of him and your home, and you refuse to let him disrespect you in any way… And he knows better than to try.
His teammates have no idea how hopelessly in love he is with you. With the way you seize control from him in a way he allows no one else to. Not his soldiers, not the rest of his family. He’s been the ‘man’ of the house in all aspects for as long as he can remember… But that stops the moment he crosses the threshold of the front door, hangs his coat and his gear in the hall closet, and pads through the home in search of you.
He always finds you busying yourself with something or other and you beckon him close like a puppy, with a pat on the chair next to yours as you work at the dining table, or a come hither motion of the fingers as you water the plants, or reach your arms out for a hug as you stand atop a ladder halfway through repainting the accent wall in the living room. He always hugs and burrows himself in you, inhaling your scent, basking in your warmth, leaving kisses and touches in every inch of exposed skin.
He’s not embarrassed of you, he’ll gladly shout out to the world about his love for you. But he’s embarrassed by how he acts around you. Soap and Gaz would tell him he’s “whipped” if they ever knew what you do to him. So he doesn’t want them to meet you.
But he doesn’t have a choice. December 23rd, at 11 P.M., he and the lads have just touched down from a mission. The weather forecast speaks of a rainstorm and severe weather warnings extending right over Christmas… And John knows what he must do.
So disgruntled, your husband walks off to his office and calls you. In a low tone of voice, almost hushed, because he woke you up, he grumbles about the storm, about how Soap won’t be able to drive up to Scotland for Christmas, that Gaz can probably risk driving to Birmingham, but it’s still pretty unsafe, and that Ghost, as usual, was going to lock himself in his quarters on base and drink himself until he passes out…
You don’t need to be told again. You spring into action immediately. You simply reply that you’re getting up and getting the guest rooms ready, asking if one of the lads would mind getting the pull-out sofa in John’s study, and telling John to drive safe, that the roads are dangerous with the rain…
It’s midnight when you hear the front door opening, and the hall light turns on, flooding the space with a bright warm-toned yellow-ish light. “Shoes off, you lot. The missus doesn’t want water or mud inside.” He demands in a gruff tone.
As they go about unzipping coats and undoing their muddy boots, you can hear John still chastising them. “I’ll stress again: I want you on your best behaviour. No work talk, no cursing, no disrespect. The missus is doin’ you a favour.” He adds as if the poor lads are children who cannot be trusted to be polite.
Unbeknownst to you, he had already spent the whole drive over from base warning them about picking up after themselves, about being respectful to you, about putting the toilet seat down, about making their beds… reaming them out as if they were wild animals who had never once been inside a house and would break and dirty up everything they touch.
You move to stand at the step that separates the lowered entryway from the sitting room, silently observing them, arms crossed as you lean your shoulder against the wall, wearing a robe and your house slippers as you look at them.
They’re all taller than you, moving surprisingly efficiently and quietly, trying not to disturb the peaceful home too much. They’re dripping wet, probably from rushing from the car in the driveway up to the front stoop. A set of four backpacks or duffle bags are on the floor by the door, their clothes for the days they’ll spend here inside.
“Give them a break, Jonathan, you can keep bossing them around in the morning, love.” You quip and you immediately feel all their backs stiffen, four pairs of eyes glued to you.
“Hi, lovie…” John says, already crossing the small entryway to wrap his arms around your waist, dropping a deep open-mouthed kiss to your awaiting lips. Your hand touches his face, caressing his cheek over his mutton chops.
“Steamin’ Jesus, the Captain’s got taste…” You hear a voice murmur, followed by a sharp ‘ow, what was that fo’?’ which causes both you and John to look at the other soldiers. The offending man, the shortest, with a mohawk, rubs at his arm, which seems to indicate the tallest one on his left side smacked him into shutting his mouth.
You don’t need to be told who’s who to realize that it was ‘Ghost’ who smacked ‘Soap’, while ‘Gaz’ stands on Soap’s other side and shoots John an apologetic look. He told you everything about them, without ever revealing names or pictures, for you to know more about them than you should. John himself as his lips pressed together, his mouth nearly disappearing behind his mustache, as he glares at the lads (aka Soap) for making comments about you.
You quickly approach the three men. “You must be the lads my husband talks so much about!” You say with a chuckle. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet the men responsible for bringing my John home in one piece every time…” You tell them gratefully while shaking each of their hands with two of your own, your eyes shining a bit.
“Please, come in!” You gesture behind you into the home as you flick the sitting room lights on. “John, will you show them their rooms while I put the kettle on?” You ask your husband as you slink into the kitchen.
A few muffled footsteps, created by socked feet, are heard as they walk inside, with John directing the boys to the different bedrooms (and study), and you hear a gruff voice murmur something about taking the pull-out sofa. You assume it’s Ghost.
Your husband then comes to hug you around the waist as you wait for the water to boil, dropping kisses to your temple and cheek, doting on you while his big, calloused hands squeeze at every part of you, your thighs, especially, but your tummy as well, along with gentle words. “I missed you so much, lovie…” “Thank you for doing this…” “You know, I can never sleep right without you in my arms…” “Just missed you so much…”
Five minutes later, you hear their steps coming back as you’re finishing pouring the water into a few separate mugs. Your husband dislodges his arms from around you. He doesn’t need the others to see he’s so crazy about you.
“Your home is beautiful, Mrs. Price.” Gaz says as you set the tea mugs, the sugar, and the milk within their reach on the island counter. He takes one of the mugs and tops it off with some milk. The way the young boy calls you ‘Mrs. Price’ has nothing if not respect dripping from it.
It makes you tingle on the inside, even after so many years, the realization that you’re John’s wife, John’s choice, John’s priority. Your husband preens himself a bit when he catches the look in your eye. He loves that you’re his, of course, but loves it even more that you like being his.
“Thank you, Gaz. I’m glad you like it.” You remark with a smile as you sip your own tea. Herbal, different from theirs, so you can resume your sleep which John interrupted with his phone call.
“Aye, real cosy!” Soap quips from beside him as he slides up to a stool on the island. He doesn’t drink tea, so you didn’t prepare any, per John’s request.
“I hope the beds are to your liking… I kinda made them in a hurry.” You quip, which causes the boys, and your husband, to laugh, as they seat themselves across from you, in the bar stools. You barely even noticed Ghost taking the last cuppa and sliding up next to Johnny, his mask rolled up just enough to allow him to drink.
“We’re soldiers, ma’am, we’ll sleep anywhere,” Gaz told you, ever polite, with a sweet smile on his lips. John has told you all about Gaz, his protegé, of sorts, a respectful lad, the youngest, but one that has proved himself to be useful.
Your eyes flitter over to John for a moment, watching as he drinks his tea, two fingers laced through the handle of his navy blue mug, rather than around him, his behind leaning back on the counter beside you. While doing that, however, you miss the glances the lads exchange with each other, and then to you.
“As true as that might be…” You trail off after sipping your tea and look back at the soldiers again. “I still hope you have some good rest. And, I’m sorry about the pull-out sofa… it’s a bit old, came from John’s old apartment… Has gotta be a decade old now.” You quip as you look toward Ghost.
“It’s alright. I’ll sleep fine.” Ghost says. “Like Gaz said, we can sleep wherever.” He adds.
Soap nods along. “Anything’s better than sleeping on the ground with your rifle between your legs and your jacket folded up to serve as an eyemask.” He adds and laughs.
“Johnny.” Your husband calls out, chastising him. “No work talk.”
“Aw, c’mon, Captain, that hardly counts as work talk.” He retorts with a little boyish grin.
“Them’s the rules. No bloody talk about service.” John insists.
“John.” You scold him, and your husband stiffens next to you, his eyes flittering over to you, eyebrows scrunched and his eyes softened as he meets your eye… nothing short of a puppy.
It was stronger than John at this point, to respond to your tone of voice with nothing but a baring of his neck, not a baring of his teeth like he would with anyone else. The boys all noticed it, the way his shoulders sagged and his eyes looked at you with utter devotion.
“Let the boys talk about work. As long as it’s nothin’ too gory or confidential…” You trail off. “I’m sure I’ll enjoy ‘earing all the stories they have to tell about you at work... Right, lads?” You ask as you look at them again.
“Oh, we’ve got stories alright.” Soap says with a giggle and a wagging of his brows, which causes Gaz and Ghost to snicker under his breath.
“Well, then, regale me with them during Christmas dinner, ye?” You ask them, to which they nod along with smiles. You could swear even Ghost had one in the corner of his scarred lips.
After a bit more small talk, you kissed John goodnight, while he told you he’d stay downstairs and talk with the lads a little longer, so you waved at them while trekking your way upstairs, the boys once more thanking you for the hospitality.
The moment John’s trained ears honed into the fact the bedroom door has closed, he finishes his tea and glares at the lads.
“Don’t be bloody flirtin’ with my wife.” He tells Soap directly, though his comment extends to Gaz and Ghost as well, which is why he glances to both sides at the other two.
“Sir?” Gaz asks while blinking.
“You ‘eard me, Garrick.” He adds and points a finger at the young Sergeant.
“We’re not flirtin’, sir.” Soap tries to defend himself.
“Aw, that’s rich that there, MacTavish, yeah.” Your husband says bluntly.
“Weren’t flirting.” Ghost retorts as he looks at John. “I was more so interested in the way she has your balls in her little purse.” He adds.
Both Soap and Gaz turn to look at Ghost with eyes so wide you’d think he just tried to kill the Captain directly… and he might as well have, the way John choked on nothing and started coughing up a lung.
The other two are trying to muffle their chuckles and hide their smirks as Simon continues. “Don’t give me that look, boss. We all saw it. Pretty thing might as well be walking you around on a lead.”
“Nonsense.” John says defensively as he snatches the cups of tea from the island and turns to deposit them all in the kitchen sink. He starts washing them quickly, shoulders stiffened.
“Bunk down.” John demands. “We’ve got plenty to do tomorrow.” He adds. The light screeching of bar stools being pulled back and pushed back into place is heard, as the boys vacate the kitchen with curt ‘Goodnight, sir’ murmured before they headed upstairs as well.
“Balls in her bloody purse, my arse.” John grumbles under his voice as he finishes doing the dishes, drying his hands, and then setting them on the island across from him, head hung in shame.
He knows Simon’s right. Hell, he revels in the fact you’ve got metaphorical balls of steel to confront him, to steal control right from under him, to wear the pants in the relationship. Lord knows it took him years to meet a woman who could not only keep up with him but put him in his place…
So why does it embarrass him so to hear them snicker at that fact? Why does it annoy him to look weak for you in front of his men? Why does it anger him that he loves to be weak for you?
Those are the thoughts in his head as he turns off the sitting room and kitchen lights and marches upstairs... And as he approaches your bedside in the dark, pulling the covers out from atop of you, exposing your body to him.
Under that robe you came to welcome them in, you were only wearing one of his t-shirts and no pants whatsoever, which he had peeped by the way your bare legs had shown through the slit between the two sides of the fabric whenever you walked.
“John?” You ask him in surprise, his breath is a bit ragged, more so huffing like a bull through his nose, as he grabs you and pulls you up into his arms, only to drop you on the bed further in the middle of the bed.
The giggle that escaped you when he did so annoyed him even more. He’s angry, pissed that he had been humiliated in front of his men, that you had humiliated him by merely existing and going about your relationship with him the way you always did…
So why are you giggling? Is he really that weak for you that you’ve grown to not fear his anger?
He grabs the hem of his shirt and yanks it up and over your head, tossing it to the side before he attacks your neck with nothing but kisses and bites, his hands touching your naked body, rough skin dragging over every inch of the softness he has left on display.
“John!” You giggle some more as he keeps touching and kissing you, his body weighing down on yours, your legs parted to accommodate him. “We can’t… We have guests!” You try to negotiate as his fingers dig into the pudge of your thighs and slide around to grip a greedy handful of your ass.
You still haven’t spotted the anger in him… And, as such, your playful attempts at negotiating postponing sex only annoy him more. You’re still trying to call the shots…
His left hand wraps around your face, quieting you with a strong palm holding your lips, his fingers digging into your jaw on either side. “You’re mine.” That’s all he says as his fingers continue exploring your body.
“You think you can embarrass me like that in front of the blokes?” He asks you in a whisper as his teeth catch your earlobe and suck and bite at it. “Hm?” He beckons, his tone aggressive. “Make me look like a big girl’s blouse in front of my subordinates?” He continues.
A shiver runs down your spine as his free hand wraps around the waistband of your underwear and yanks it off, down your legs, tossing them to a random spot, barely giving you time to react before his fingers drag up your thigh.
“You think you’re oh-so-box-clever, innit?” He asks you as his fingers slowly drag across your slit, finding your clit effortlessly, years of practice aiding in his torturing of you. You find yourself moaning and sighing against his hand, hips stuttering a bit, your feet looking for a perch at the edge of the bed so you can rub yourself into his hand.
“Walking around in just my shirt and those knickers and stupid bloody robe, making my boys see how lucky I am to have you, make them jealous… Only to embarrass me, make me look weak…” He trails off and tuts loudly, his tongue clicking disdainfully.
The things he’s saying make no sense to you. You didn’t try to seduce his friends, and you sure as hell didn’t try to embarrass him! It’s just the way you always act around him, around the house. He’s never complained, in fact, he’s praised you plenty of times for being ‘perfect’ for him… So where did this change of his come from?
Frankly, you don’t know, but you don’t care… It has been weeks since you were last together, sure, but you know that’s not the main reason why you’re loving this. The unbridled rage in his voice, combined with the way his experienced fingers touch your body, is making you feel things John’s never made you feel before. Your mind is clear of nothing if not a pang of hunger for him, your hands gently pawing at his shoulders atop his charcoal grey t-shirt, soft whimpers muffled by the hard palm pressing you into silence, into submission.
“I’m afraid I’ve let you gone unchecked for too long, lovie...” He grunts in your ear as his fingers draw circles against your clit, the rough pads catching at the throbbing bud, making you whine and whimper, your whole body shuddering against him. “I’m going to fix that attitude of yours...” He clicks his tongue again, sounding all the more annoyed.
“Now you’re going to be good f’r me…” He says as he uncovers your mouth, his hand, wet with saliva, slipping from atop your mouth to grab your wrists and pin them above your head, flush to the mattress. “And make the lads know exactly who’s in charge in here. Clear their doubts...”

extra: 500 words-ish
The next morning, you wake up before John, as usually tends to happen when he comes back from a mission. The silence and lack of stress, the warmth of you in his arms, the cosy atmosphere of the house… It’s all the perfect sedative to keep him as good as dead for many, many hours. You slip out of his embrace and check the clock… it was just past 9 A.M. You pad quietly to the hall bathroom after fishing out a change of clothes from the wardrobe, and rinse off the sweat from the night before, as well as the dried slick and cum between your thighs. You’re still unstable on your feet, your thighs and the space between them deliciously sore, your body covered in marks of the night you spent in your husband’s arms… You feel like you’re floating as you drift downstairs and into the kitchen…  “Fuckin’ hell!” You jump, startled. In your kitchen, pouring himself a cup of tea is Ghost… You think. The height seems about right, though you didn’t expect a broad-shoulder, bare-chested blond in your kitchen. “Good morning.” You say softly as you shuffle inside, hearing him return that same greeting in a way-too-deep of a voice, standard of man who’s just woken up. “Go put a shirt on, this isn’t the beach.” You scold him, as you open the fridge, looking for the eggs. Your voice is as fierce as it usually tends to be with John. When he doesn’t reply, you look over at him, noticing his mask is missing. You assume John scolded him about it, how you’d likely be startled by seeing a masked man in the night. The look in Ghost’s eyes is unreadable, stern, unwavering, and eerily calm, as if he’s seeing through you. They flit over you, up and down, with a certain glint you can’t quite decipher. You straighten your back in the face of his look, portraying nothing if not confidence. Ghost leans against the counter, one hand holding his tea cup and sipping from it, the other resting on the counter to support his weight, before one of his eyebrows shoots up. “Nice night, huh?” He asks you and, immediately, you feel your entire confidence bleed out of you, your eyes widening like saucers. Of course he heard it… You’re sure all the lads heard you, especially considering John and you started right as they had gotten to their respective rooms to sleep, all of which were located in the same hallway as the master bedroom… It’d surprise you if they hadn’t… Hell, it’d surprise you if the neighbors across the way didn’t! The way John had you last night, crying out his name at the top of his lungs and making you apologise repeatedly for something you didn’t even do (on purpose) definitely leaked through the walls… Just like the shame you currently feel leaks through your pores. You turn away to fix your eyes on the fridge, too embarrassed to face him again after realizing he knows. Your brain rushes to find something to distract you, to hide what you feel… “Are you hungry?” You end up asking softly.

In the middle of the night, the Polar Tang was eerily quiet. By now, the Heart Pirates have gone to bed. However, in the captain's room, a faint light can be seen seeping through the cracks of the room's door. Law is sitting on his bed, holding a tattered grey hooded shawl. His tattooed hands gently caressed it as he recalls the time when he wore the fabric. It was the day when he lost his saviour. He could never bring himself to throw out the dirty old shawl, even though it brought back one of the worst moments of his life, because it was the only thing that he had in memory of his saviour, Corazon.
The doctor leaned against the headboard of his bed and sighed as he closed his eyes. He had to make this plan work. It was a tough decision to leave his crew behind and to leave you behind, but if he wanted to succeed in taking down Kaido, he needed to face his worst nightmare first, which was the man who killed his saviour. As he gripped the shawl tighter, his eyes drifted to his desk where your bounty poster lay.
In the past couple of months, Law had gotten closer to you, the crew's cook and sniper. What used to be a mutual relationship of captain and crew has evolved into a friendship, but his heart began to yearn for something more. He was unsure if you felt the same way, but he also knew that it was foolish to act upon his feelings as he was a dangerous criminal. Putting his crew and his friends in danger due to association is something he does not want, especially if it comes to a romantic association. So he decided it was best to protect his crew, to protect you, and the best way to do it was to act on this plan with a different crew.
The tattooed captain sighed as he put away the shawl on his bedside table.
"Please forgive me everyone, (Y/n)-ya, but I must leave soon. I need to keep all of you safe and I cannot afford to lose anyone again," he murmured as he turned off the lamp that illuminated his room. He was ready to tell the crew about his plans tomorrow.
But little did he know, you were listening to him the whole time at his door.
-------------------
The next morning, Law was met with a piece of bread on his plate at the dining table. The whole crew was eating breakfast, and he decided to join. But while you served everyone what they wanted to eat, you dropped a plate of hot garbage in front of your captain.
Angrily glaring down at Law at his seat, you kicked his seat, encouraging him to eat up. Your captain looked up at you with deadpan eyes.
"You're joking right?" he griped. "You out of all people should know that I hate bread (Y/n)-ya."
You shrugged. "I know. But everything else ran out, so eat it," you said.
"You just served Hakugan his second serving of rice balls. What do you mean you don't have anything left?" Law argued. The captain glared at Hakugan who was sitting across from him. The poor man had his cheeks full of rice balls and tried to look away.
Law glanced back at you and saw your eyes flare up with anger. "Did I do something to anger you (Y/n)-ya?" he asked.
You crossed your arms. "I don't know captain, you tell me. Did you do something?" you scoffed.
A vein started to pop on the doctor's forehead. "I don't have time for your petty games. If you have a problem with me say it right now." he gritted.
"Is that so? Well if you want it straightforward, please enlighten us on your plans to ditch the crew." you spat out.
The dining hall suddenly became quiet as the whole crew looked toward you and Law. The tattooed doctor simply sighed.
"The captain is leaving us?!"
"Wait where is he going?"
"How come we're just finding this out right now?"
The murmurs of the crew started to pick up. Bepo started to bombard Law with more questions, while Shachi and Penguin just blankly stared at their captain.
The captain rubbed his temple and glared up at you. "What gave you the idea that I was going to ditch the crew?" he questioned.
Your eye twitched in irritation. "Don't act foolish captain, I overheard you saying that you were going to leave soon!" you shouted at him.
Suddenly, Law realized that you had heard him talking to himself last night. "Why were you eavesdropping at my door last night?" he questioned.
"Stop avoiding the question captain." you spat back.
Realizing that it was useless to keep his plans under cover, the captain stood up and began to address the crew. "Since our dear cook eavesdropped on me last night and got the wrong idea, I will just tell you all now what I was going to say later on in the day," he announced.
The dining hall once fell into silence again, with everyone giving their undivided attention to their captain. Law looked at everyone, then at you, then back at everyone with hesitant eyes.
"For the next month or so, I will be going on a solo mission to take down Doflamingo, who is Kaido." he declared. "This is a two-step plan so please listen carefully. I will depart a week after we reach the New World. I will head to Punk Hazard, which is where the SMILE fruits are being produced. I plan to capture the head of production there, Caesar and use him as a bargaining chip for Doflamingo, who is a direct subordinate of Kaido as he is the one supplying the Emperor. I will force him to step down from the Warlord status and eventually will defeat him with the help of the Strawhats."
He paused for a few seconds and then continued. "I need all of you to head to Zou once I depart. We will meet there once I accomplish what I need to do. As your captain, I ask you to please trust me with this plan." he finished.
You were completely bewildered. Even though you were given a clear explanation, somehow this made you even angrier than before. Did the captain not trust you or the crew enough to assist him? It was a dangerous plan and he wanted to do it all by himself without
But before you could speak up, Penguin suddenly spoke up. "We trust you captain! You can trust us to follow through with your plan!" he affirmed.
"Yeah! Finally, you decide to take him down!" Shachi also encouraged.
"Captain!! Please be safe and come back to us!!" Bepo cried out.
The entire crew suddenly burst out into cheers, encouraging and reassuring their captain that his plan would be a success. Seeing that his crew trusted him, he let out a small smile. However, when he looked back at you, who was by his side the whole time, you were looking down with your eyes darkened. You were trembling, and Law was unsure if it was out of anger or sadness.
Law attempted to reach out to you. "(Y/n)-ya-"
"ALL OF YOU ARE IDIOTS!" you suddenly screamed.
Everyone stopped and looked at you. They saw a side of you that they never saw; you were furious. You were shaking from head to toe, with both of your hands clutched in anger. Your breath was laboured, breathing heavy as your chest heaved up and down and your face was scrunched up in a scowl.
Turning around to face Law, you grabbed the collar of his black coat and sneered. "What kind of stupid plan is that?! You're just going to get up and leave?! You don't trust any of us to help you?!" you spat at him.
Law's face twisted into a cloudy expression. His grey eyes bore into yours, with conflicted feelings written all over his face.
"I trust that all of you, especially you (Y/n)-ya to follow through with my plan. I just said that I trusted everyone here to meet me at Zou for the second part of my plan." he calmly said.
"It's not trust when none of us are assisting you. Are we a burden Captain Law? Do we hold you back? Why are you reaching out to others to help you?" you pressed on. Your angry facade started to fade and was being replaced with hurt and sadness.
"Y/N! You're pushing it!" Ikkaku yelled out to you.
"Isn't it disrespectful to question the captain's authority and motives?" Jean Bart murmured.
You let go of the collar and faced the rest of the crew. "Are all of you that blind to see that he does not trust us to help him? Why are all of you agreeing with him?" you argued.
Shachi stepped up to you and glared. "(Y/n), if the captain says that's the plan, we have to follow it." he countered.
Your eyes bore into Law's once more. "Answer me oh dear captain. What's the reason for doing this without us?" you questioned once more.
Law never had anyone one of his crew members question his plans or authority. Seeing you speak up and question him made him feel uncomfortable and angry. He was the captain and he knew what was best for you and for everyone in the submarine.
"Because (Y/n)-ya, this whole operation is something I need to do alone. I need all of you to be safe, and this mission can result in casualties. I am not trying to lose all of my crew in this." he lowly answered.
That was not the answer you wanted to hear.
"So what you're saying is, we're too weak to help?" you breathily said.
"That's not what I meant-" he started but you cut him off with a sarcastic laugh.
"We're pirates, captain. What makes you think we can't hold out on our own? We fought mercilessly against marines and other pirates, but you think we cannot handle some big shot like Doflamingo?!" you screamed at him.
The captain had enough of your disrespect towards him. Why couldn't you see that he was trying to protect you?
"(Y/n)-ya! You are to follow my orders! Have trust in me as your captain!" he finally shouted back.
"Trust? You have the guts to talk about trust when you can't even trust us to fight alongside you!" you countered back at him.
The entire crew watched you and Law scream at each other like a tennis match. The once easy-going vibe was now replaced with suffocating tension in the dining room.
You took a step back as your eyes started to well up. You were hurt that the captain decided to toss you and the crew aside for a mission. You didn't understand why he couldn't trust everyone enough to fight with him. After all, it was your duty as his subordinate right?
Or was it your duty because you didn't want him to leave your side?
"I had so much respect for you captain. Now, I don't know," you whispered, finally breaking the silence. You felt your heart hammering through your chest, anxious about the whole situation.
However, the next sentence that Law said broke your heart even more.
"If you don't agree with me, then feel free to leave (Y/n)-ya."
Your eyes darkened as your head hung, looking at the floor. The whole crew gasped and started to murmur.
"Hey, he must be joking right?"
"Well, she started questioning the captain and disrespecting him."
"Hey (Y/n), you're not going to leave right?"
You looked back up at Law, but instead of tears filling your eyes, he saw an unreadable expression. He knew he shouldn't have said those words, but he couldn't take them back. He understood the difficult decisions he had to make as a leader of a pirate crew. It was either he kept you safe or risk losing you forever. By choosing the former, it was best that if you refused to follow his plan, he would rather have you leave his crew.
You let out a soundless laugh. You thought he would care, but turns out he was willing to throw you away. You turned to your right and spoke to Bepo as you finally decided. "Bepo, surface this submarine right now," you said.
The mink started to panic. "(Y/n)-san-"
"Surface. Now," you darkly ordered. The polar bear started apologizing profusely as he scrambled to the helm of the submarine.
Penguin and Shachi scurried up to you in panic. "Hey (Y/n)! You know that captain didn't mean that right?" Penguin tried to explain.
Ikkaku also hurried by your side. "No wait! Don't go we need you!" she begged.
You bitterly smiled at your friends. "No, clearly I have overstayed my welcome here. I'm going." you sighed. As they tried to reach out and hug you, you shrugged them off and stormed off to your room to pack your things.
The entire crew started to frantically urge their captain to take his words back and not let you go. But amidst the chaos, he could only watch your figure disappear out the door as his heart ached.
30 minutes later, you were gone and out of the Polar Tang.
---------------------
You sailed your small boat towards a small island populated with lush forest with sand that surrounded the area. You only had your clothes, some food, a log pose and your denden mushi in your essentials bag. You were rowing for two hours so you collapsed in exhaustion when you set foot on the sanded beach. With your back on the sand, you stared up at the clear blue sky as the sun shone bright. Recalling your argument with Law, your eyes started to well up with tears, this time letting them run freely down the sides of your face. You immediately brought your hands to your eyes and attempted to wipe them as you wailed in desperation. You thought you and Law were friends, you thought that you were respected as much as you respected him. All the times you got to know him, and became closer with your captain, was all for nothing.
After crying for a good 30 minutes, you got up and proceeded to make your way into the forest with your bag in tow. You were now wearing a tank top with black baggy pants. It was the first time you wore regular clothes in a while. Trudging through the sand, you found yourself coming in contact with something small on your left foot. You look down to see a pear-like fruit lying halfway buried in the sand. It piqued your interest, so you crouch down and pick it up with your left hand. Looking closely, it was decorated with swirls with a weird feather-shaped stem on top.
"Weird, this looks like a Devil Fruit," you muttered as you gave it a sniff. You decided to put it in your bag and continued to trudge in the forest. You explored around for twenty minutes, looking for a place to rest. After an hour of walking, you were starting to get dehydrated and hungry. You also noticed it started to get darker. Looking up, you realized that storm clouds quickly gathered and rain was slowly starting to fall, so you picked up your pace and started running, hoping to run into a big tree to shelter under. However, a tree root caught on your right foot, and you fell to the ground, hitting your head on a small log. The bag that you were holding fell in front of your face with the contents spilling out of it.
The last thing you saw before you blacked out was the Devil Fruit rolling out of your bag.
--------------------
"Captain...we have to go back for (Y/n)-san!" Bepo pleaded as he gripped Law's left leg.
The captain was sitting crosslegged as he read a book on the common area couch of the Polar Tang. He was dressed in a simple black tee with his signature spotted jeans. He simply grunted in response, his eyes not looking away from the book.
Shachi, Penguin and Ikkaku stood in front of their captain. All three of them were visibly pissed and worried that their dear friend and crewmate left.
"Captain! Please be reasonable! I get it that she was somewhat disrespectful, but she doesn't know the real reason for your plan!" Shachi spluttered.
"Shachi is right!" Penguin agreed. "She doesn't know about Corazon at all!"
As Corazon was mentioned, the tattooed doctor let out a 'tch' as a vein started to pop up on his temple.
Ikkaku rolled her eyes. "Both of you don't know how to communicate with one another, and you guys aren't official yet," she muttered.
Law whipped his head up and glared at his crew member. "Are you implying that I would be in a romantic relationship with one of my subordinates?" he hissed.
"Oh come on cap, it was so obvious you have a crush on her." the curly-haired girl spat back.
He remained silent after that. The three crewmates looked at each other with blank faces.
The polar bear proceeded to get up and sat on the floor at Law's feet. "I'm worried for her Captain. You know how clumsy she can be. What if she hits her head or accidentally drowns?" the mink fretted.
The captain's left foot started to tap on the floor. Seeing that Law was starting to get anxious with the idea of you getting hurt, Shachi started to rile him up even more.
"Yeah, you're right Bepo. Knowing Y/n, she might get eaten by a large snake or something." he hummed.
"Remember the time she pissed off this giant bear and almost got her head bitten off?" Ikkaku added on.
"Oh yeah! I also remembered when she lit herself on fire when-" Penguin continued before he got cut off.
"Okay! We will retrieve her." Law said finally snapping as he suddenly rose from the couch. The four crewmates suddenly broke up into a smile and cheered.
The captain frowned as he proceeded to exit the common area and started to walk to the helm.
"You're lucky I care about you (Y/n)-ya," he lowly muttered as he got ready to surface his submarine.
-----------------
The first thing you felt waking up was your stomach rumbling.
Your eyes slowly opened as you started to gain consciousness. Your entire body was completely wet and covered with leaves and dirt. You shivered as you felt the cold breeze hit your skin. As your body started to wake up, you felt a sharp pain on your right foot and your forehead as you tried to get up.
"Urghh," you groaned as you pushed yourself up to sit on your bum. Your stomach growled loudly in hunger. Clutching your stomach with your left arm in hunger pain, you started to pat with your right hand around the area for the food that had fallen out of your bag since your sight was still blurry. The first thing your hand came in contact with was what seemed to be a small fruit with lumps, so you picked it up and proceeded to bite into it absentmindedly.
As you chewed the fruit in your mouth, you immediately became repulsed at how disgusting it tasted. Your face twisted in disgust as you continued to chew it and swallow it. After a few bites, your vision started to clear up and looked down to see what you were eating.
"Oh shit!" you shouted as you dropped the fruit. You scrambled to get up, but your legs gave up on you as your face met the ground. Getting up once again, your heart started to palpitate as you realized you had eaten a Devil Fruit.
Tears started to gather in your eyes again as you attempted to throw up the fruit. "No, no, no, no!" you mentally screamed as you attempted to wretch up the fruit from your stomach. "I refuse to be like my devil fruit freak of a brother!"
Your fingers started to dig into the ground, Your head started to spin as you started to breathe heavily. Tears dripped down your face and into the ground, as you slammed your head into the ground as you tried to throw up. While your panic attack starting to show, Law and the Heart Pirates started to show up by your side.
Law heard your screams once he set foot on the nearest island he found. He figured you would be at this deserted forest island since it was the nearest one to the submarine. Your wails echoed through the forest and into the beachy area of the island. As soon as the captain heard your screams, his heart dropped and started to sprint into the forest. Running the fastest he's ever run, he followed the sound of your yells until he spotted you, on all fours with your head down. The tattooed doctor's heart raced as he hoisted you up off the ground. His eyes scanned your body as he saw your entire body littered with dirt and grime. Your right foot was completely bloody and a lump started to show on the side of your head.
You looked up to see who picked you up and were met with familiar steel-grey eyes. Blinking away your tears, you started to shake as you realized that your captain had come back from you. His face expressed great concern, with his iris trembling as he gripped onto your left arm tightly.
"C-captain?" you quietly squeaked.
The next thing you knew, your head collided with his broad chest as he enveloped you in a hug.
"You stupid, stupid girl." He lowly muttered into your left ear. You lightly blushed as you felt his warm hands hold onto your hips. You felt your breath starting to stabilize. With your emotions at an all-time high, you continued to cry and shake in Law's chest.
The rest of the crew caught up to Law and saw your battered body in his arms. They all cried out to you seeing how hurt and dirty you were.
The doctor pulled you away from his chest and looked at you with concern. "What happened?" he asked.
You opened your mouth to answer back, but you were so lightheaded from crying and your panic attack that you blacked out once more, this time falling into your captain's arms. Law's tattooed hands caught onto you, immediately hoisting you up into a bridal style as soon as your body went limp. With his eyes not leaving your body, he commanded his crew to get the submarine ready for departure.
"Everyone back on the submarine now! Penguin, get the infirmary bed ready. Shachi set up the IV, she's severely dehydrated." he commanded.
"Yes, captain!" everyone shouted as they proceeded to rush back. Law glanced down at your unconscious form once with regret on his face before he shambled both of you back to the Polar Tang.
---------------------
"...(Y/n)-ya," you heard someone call out.
Your eyes started to slowly open as you regained your consciousness. As your vision cleared, you realized that you were back in the one place you swore to never visit again.
"Am I in hell?" you groaned as your voice started to wake up.
You heard someone sigh beside you. "Is that the first thing you're going to say after being almost left for dead?" a low voice said.
You turned your head to the right and saw that Law was sitting next to your bed. Your eyes trailed up to his face and saw that he had an unreadable expression resting on his handsome face.
"Captain, you came back for me?" you croaked.
A small smirk danced on his lips. "You wish, the crew was just annoying me to get you back." he lightly joked.
A chuckle left your lips as you turned your head back straight to stare up at the ceiling.
"I'm sorry for disrespecting you, captain." You apologized. Shifting your body in nervousness, you once again faced the man to your right.
"I guess I wanted to be useful. I am part of the crew after all. I'm a pirate, I know how to fight and take care of myself. But in all honestly captain, I..." you stopped to look into his eyes. "I didn't want to leave your side while you were fighting against a powerful person. I care for you as your subordinate and friend," you admitted.
Law's breath hitched once you spilled your confession. His stoic heart started to pick up as you told him that you cared for him. However, his face remained cold, not letting his facade down.
"Caring for me is foolish (Y/n)-ya. But I appreciate your concern. I also apologize for letting my emotions get the best of me. You are a valued member of my crew and I understand that your pride as a pirate was hurt when I shut you down." he spoke.
Your chest rumbled as you chuckled. "I guess I was being prideful too huh? What can I say, I'm a Heart Pirate after all."
"Your foolishness knows no bounds." your captain lightly joked as he shook his head. A smile started to form on his lips again. He began to speak until you cut him off.
"I know you must have your reasons on why you insist on doing the mission on your own. You can tell me when you're ready captain," you said.
Law's eyebrows shot up in surprise, but then quickly went back to his usual demeanour. "Alright then, I will tell you about it when you're all recovered."
You smiled. "Great. So will you let me come with you on your mission?" you asked.
Law's face fell. "No."
"Oh come on" you whined.
"I said no."
"I'll run away again if you don't let me."
The doctor scowled. "I'll think about it."
"Yes!" you yelled as you proceeded to get up. However, your body let you tell you that you were in too much pain to get up.
You moaned in pain as you slowly set yourself down on the bed. Your captain rolled his eyes.
"You idiot, you injured your leg and head. Do not rapidly get up like that." he reprimanded.
"Sorry." you huffed.
Your mind suddenly wandered back to when you accidentally ate the devil fruit and you winced.
"Is something else hurting you?" your doctor asked with concern as he saw you wince.
"Uhm," you started, "Well, I might have eaten something..."
"What? Was it a plant? Mushroom? Something poisonous?" he pressed on with worry laced in his voice.
You looked away as you started to sweat. "Uhm, I accidentally ate a devil fruit on the island..." you quietly muttered.
There was a pregnant pause.
"You what?!" Law hissed at you as he stood up straight from his chair. "Why would you do that?!"
"It was an accident! I was hungry and grabbed the first thing I saw! It was the reason why you saw me freak out..." you explained carefully.
The tattooed captain sighed as he leaned back on the chair. "You do realize that you cannot swim anymore right?"
"I never learned how to in the first place," you muttered.
"That's not the point. Do you know what kind of powers you gained?" he asked.
You hummed as you thought about the question. "Not sure, nothing happened to me yet."
"Well if you find out, you must tell me right away alright?"
"Okay, cap."
"Do not call me that."
"Sorry cap."
"Tch," Law grunted as he got up from his chair. "Go back to sleep and rest. You don't need to eat for now since you have an IV connected to you. I'll check up on you every hour or so. Let me know if you need something or if you're feeling any more pain. And do not rip the IV off like you did last time." he commanded as he proceeded to walk out of the infirmary.
"Yes sir." you sarcastically shot at him. Sleep was catching up to you once again. Your eyes closed as you called out to your captain.
"What is is (Y/n)-ya?" he asked.
"Thank you for taking me back captain. I won't let you down." you sighed as your sleep started to take over you.
Law paused as he was halfway out the door. "You owe me a serving of rice balls," he answered back. But what he wanted to say to you was;
"Don't ever run away from me like that again. I will always come back to find you."
He chuckled and sighed as he closed the infirmary door once he realized you were fast asleep.
----------------
Bonus Scene:
You were woken up with loud cheers down the hall. Your eyes shot open as you heard the crew cheer your name. It seemed like they were celebrating your return.
"Those idiots celebrating but I'm not even there," you muttered. Closing your eyes once more, you tried to let sleep overtake you but their cheers and ramblings were keeping you awake.
Scoffing in annoyance, you flipped to your left side and tried to cover your ears with your pillow and your right palm.
"Ugh, I wish it would be silent right now!" you groaned as you snapped your fingers in annoyance.
Suddenly, everything went silent. You sighed in relief as you no longer heard the rambunctious crew. You were about to snooze once more until you realized what happened. Your eyes shot up as you suddenly sat up on the bed.
"Oh fuck."

2013, Circuit de Monaco
"Happy Birthday sister!"Mark greeted on the other line "Am I the last one to greet you?"
Despite the afternoon horizons outside the window of Y/N, she was still in her bed. Usually she doesn't like waking up with calls but Mark's greeting was something that she can tolerate today.
"You are the first, I just woke up"Y/N replied.
"Woke up? Are you back in London?"Mark's confusion was evident.
"I'm actually here in Monaco"Y/N clarified "I had a late flight so I was a bit tired so I woke up here at around.. oh its 4 in the afternoon"
In hindsight, she should have set an alarm so she didn't miss out a huge chunk of hours sleeping. However, she was exhausted from packing and taking care of things before she left Spain. She wanted a complete break for her birthday that's why she overworked herself to ensure everything can function without her.
"How long are you staying there?"Mark wondered.
"Till the Monaco GP so I have 2 weeks to enjoy Monaco's waters"
"You have a good one there sis"
"Thanks Mark"
"Happy Birthday again, I wish you all the best" Mark added "And if you want to buy anything, just tell me and I'll pay for it"
"Mark, you didn't have to do that"
There was a sigh on the other line. Mark knows how much Y/N values to work for the money that she spends that's why she doesn't like spending money that she didn't own.
"Just let me be Y/N, I missed a huge part of your life because I was immature"Mark explains "Just let me do this for you, okay?"
The whole brother-sister relationship is still mending. It was already one of the best gifts that Y/N could have asked. These moments are just some instances that they tried to make up with each other.
"Okay, I won't buy anything expensive though"Y/N compromises.
"That's tough in Monaco"
It earned a shared laughter between the two. It was obviously common knowledge that Monaco's cost of living and the items displayed on the store could cost a month's worth of fortune.
"You take care okay? I'll call you later when I still have time"Mark said
"Thanks big bro"
When Y/N ended the call, there were several messages from different people. She felt inclined to thank them for their greetings and for remembering her birthday so she spent the next few minutes texting them back.
She already had a voicemail from Mick, a painfully long message from Jenson, even some Team Principals sent a message to her. Their greetings made her feel so loved.
However, there is this void feeling upon realizing that there is someone missing.
Y/N: Hey goodmorning! Are you okay? I'm leaving tonight for Monaco maybe we could grab some lunch later? Away from the media and everything. Miss you a lot x Y/N: Heyyyy so I heard from Britta you had a night out so maybe you are suffering a hangover. Let's just resched lunch? Y/N: Btw I gave her some hangover medicines that Jenson claims to be magic when he is hung over. I hope everything is alright xx
The messages from yesterday remains unread by Sebastian. It was a bit disappointing that she wasn't able to talk to Sebastian at all during the Spanish GP. She knew how it must have been difficult weekend for him.
I'm sure he will call, Y/N assures herself.
The grumbling in her stomach caused her to remember that she hasn't eaten yet. Y/N opened her luggages and decided to get dressed to get her first meal of the day.
There was a perfect cafe spot that was just right the corner of her hotel. It also has a perfect view of the yachts parked in Monaco, Y/N couldn't think of another perfect place to eat.
She was enjoying herself when all of a sudden someone called out her name.
"Y/N?" for a moment, Y/N wanted to think that it was Sebastian calling her.
But she knew that this voice was a little bit too different to be Sebastian. Sebastian has a certain kind of accent that pronounces her name in a certain tone regardless of his emotions.
"Jules?"she recognized the driver.
It was not often that she have interacted with Jules a lot but he was a friendly face in the paddock. He has always been a gentleman to women and he is one of those drivers that isn't a PR nightmare.
Jules made a beeline to Y/N, he was followed by a younger boy with a mop of brown hair.
"I thought it was you"Jules smiles "And I was right. What are you doing in Monaco?"
"Oh, I'm celebrating my birthday today"Y/N replied
"Wow, I didn't know that. Happy Birthday then Y/N" Jules greeted.
"Thanks, how about you why are you in Monaco? It's a bit too early for the GP"Y/N joked.
"Oh I'm here with my godson"Jules gestured to the young boy "Y/N meet Charles, Charles meet Y/N. Y/N here is from McLaren and is the one in charge of Jenson"
Y/N handed out her hand and Charles shyly picked it up to shake it.
"I'm Charles Leclerc, its nice to meet you Miss Y/N" he greeted back.
The boy had a certain smile that if Y/N was not informed earlier then she would have mistaken him as his younger brother. She could tell that if Charles gets a little bit older then he might looks strikingly similar to Jules.
"That's a very polite boy, you two look very much alike"Y/N noticed.
"Yeah-"
Jules phone starts ringing and he seems troubled to see the caller ID.
"Is it alright if you could look after Charles for a while"Jules asked "I have this really important call and it might take a while"
"Yeah sure!"Y/N agrees.
"Thanks, you are an angel! Be good Charles, I'll try to make this quick"
Jules stepped out of a cafe and began speaking to the one of the phone. Charles and Y/N were left at the cafe, the boy looks a bit lost in Y/N's opinion.
"You can sit there and you can tell me about yourself"Y/N offered.
He nods and he immediately took the chair next to her.
"Would you like something to drink or something to eat?"Y/N asked.
"I can't eat much, I have to be lightweight to be able to drive faster"Charles responded.
"You race too?"
"I kart around here and there, Jules has been teaching me a lot"Charles confirmed.
Y/N takes a sip of her hot chocolate as she smiles. When they started talking about racing, Charles certainly changed his attitude. Aspirers like Charles are quite exciting to watch because she knows that with their determination then she might end up seeing him in the grid in a couple of years.
"My brother drives too, his name is Mark"Y/N shares.
Charles' eyes widen in recognition. He went closer to Y/N with an excited smile.
"Mark as in Mark Webber? The teammate of current world champion Sebastian Vettel"Charles enumerates excitedly.
"You know your Grand Prix winners"Y/N notes.
"I think I know more about them than school"
This made Y/N laugh. It was not uncommon that F1 drivers drop out early of school so they could race. For this reason, they don't seem to have a life outside of the sports. Sebastian is a good example of how the man has been a walking encyclopedia of Formula 1. You could ask him the Grand Prix winner of 1978 and he could tell you it was Andretti without missing a beat. But ask him about the current president of America and he won't give you any answers.
"Sebastian is one of my idols, I wish he is still there when I drive in F1"Charles wishful thinking.
The thought of Sebastian crosses her mind again, her smile obviously falters upon checking her phone for the umpteenth time today.
"You seem to be sad today" Charles noticed "Shouldn't you be happy that its your birthday?"
She forces a smile.
"Its nothing, I'm just waiting for someone's birthday greeting"Y/N brushes it off.
"Is it your bestfriend?"Charles pressed "If my bestfriend forgot my birthday then I would be very upset as well"
Bestfriends? Soon lovers? The relationship is a bit complicated but either way Y/N understands Charles statement that its indeed upsetting when a special someone forgets. However, due to Y/N's closeness with Sebastian she is willing to make up excuses for his forgetfulness.
"He must have been busy, work hasn't been quite easy for him lately"Y/N reasons out.
As if on cue, Charles rolled his eyes. Gone was the shy boy from a while ago as he leaned closer to the table.
"You shouldn't make work as an excuse"Charles rebutted "Jules said that even if you have a bad race or a bad day, you should never take that out to the people important to you"
It was a good advice that Jules has given Charles. Y/N was sure that one day, Charles will be able to give himself a perfect work-life balance in the future.
"Believe me Charles, he is not usually like that"Y/N defends again "Maybe he is just caught up in some stuffs"
"Suit yourself but just remember that if he wanted to then he definitely would"
The words lingered in Y/N's mind even after Jules picked up Charles and the two said goodbye. It was something that kept repeating in her mind as she mindlessly walked the streets of Monaco and watched the skyline go dark.
Sebastian must have a reason for forgetting her birthday, didn't he?
2013, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
As a driver, they should not stay up late the night before the race. They must have a clear head so that they can focus on the task ahead. Any sort of pressure or stress may be detrimental to their performance.
Lately, Sebastian has been feeling all sorts of pressure. A lot has happened lately.
"You look like you had a lot of things going on"Jenson walks next to him.
"Aren't you supposed to avoid me at all cost?"Sebastian questioned.
"I mean we're not going to get caught if you don't tell anyone"Jenson grins "So what's on your mind?"
The heavy sigh that Sebastian has been keeping in finally gets out in the open. He doesn't even know where to begin with his story. Should he be completely honest or is this something that he has to sugarcoat to lessen the blow?
"A lot of things"Sebastian stated.
Jenson opened his arms wide and gestured that he is a person that Sebastian could confide him.
"Come on Sebastian, I'd like to think we're friends. Come on, lay it out on me"Jenson encourages.
The thing that Jenson doesn't understand is that Sebastian is wary of the information he gives out to him. He still doesn't know how to deal with Y/N and Jenson may say the wrong thing and it falls all over from Sebastian.
"I made several mistakes" that was one way of putting it lightly.
"Mistakes can be fixed"
"But I fear this mistake can't be fixed"Sebastian argued "No sorrys can fix this thing"
"Hey if this is about you missing out on Y/N's birthday then don't worry. I'm sure you could say that you have been preoccupied and she would understand that. You know she doesn't even make a big of a deal that we miss out her birthday-"Jenson was explaining.
Then it hits Sebastian. It was June.
"Oh fuck"
If Sebastian could just hit himself all over the wall then he would have done it all night long. He can't believe that he forgot about her birthday. He did not just forgot the birth date but even the birth month. He felt extremely stupid.
"You mean to tell me that forgetting her birthday is not the mistake were talking about?"Jenson pieced out the puzzle.
"Fuck, I am so fucking stupid"Sebastian lamented.
"What else did you do then?"Jenson inquired.
"Just something stupid"
Sebastian is at a lost of words before on how to explain his situation but with this new dilemma then its even more stressful. How can he tell her that he was so drunk that he slept with someone else that night in Spain. He couldn't tell the worst part that it was with someone that the both of them know. That the whole reason why he was occupied and forgot her birthday because he was trying to keep the situation quiet.
The comforting pat on the back from Jenson brought Sebastian out of his thoughts.
"You just got to be honest with her, I'm sure Y/N will understand"Jenson assures.
There was a voice in Sebastian's head that is telling him that this was something that any woman cannot understand.
"Y/N loves you a lot. You have to trust that her love is strong to understand you"Jenson stated.
Sebastian could just give a weak smile. The guilty feeling is eating him up more than ever. What did he ever do to deserve her love?
"Tell you what, I'll make some arrangements in the next Grand Prix. I'll make sure to keep McLaren occupied and you two could go spend time with each other"Jenson added.
"You would do that?"
"Of course, anything for Y/N"Jenson replied "Just don't make her cry, I hate seeing her cry"
Too overwhelmed by emotions and planning what to do next week, Sebastian failed to notice the smile that Jenson had on his face. If he paid attention then he would notice that Jenson was also as troubled with thoughts for a certain girl.
With a heavy sigh, Jenson keeps his true feelings at bay.
2013, Silverstone Circuit
It was already midnight when she arrived at her flat. Y/N was a bit tired and she was so glad that the race was happening in Silverstone so she has a few days in the comforts of her home. She was ready to hit the bed when she heard noises coming inside her apartment.
'Did I forget to lock the doors when I left?' she wondered in her head.
She quickly armed herself up by putting up her bag in a defensive manner and her phone hovering to the emergency number.
"Mein Gott! Why is this so difficult to do?"the voice from inside the apartment shouted.
She knows that voice a little too well. But Y/N couldn't believe that he would be here waiting for her.
"Sebastian? What are you-"
Seeing Sebastian Vettel in the kitchen with an apron was the least shocking thing that Y/N saw in her flat. The living room decorated by some balloons and a bouquet of flowers was placed there. Sebastian was tending over a cake that seems to be in the process of being coated with icing. The table was filled with some food that seems to be homemade.
"Hey, I know I have been a jerk recently but I'm here to apologize"Sebastian explains "Jenson stole your duplicate key and I prepared these little welcome dinner and I hope to get back to your good graces"
Something so domestic about the whole thing that Y/N's weeks of sadness immediately disappeared into thin air. She went to give him the biggest hug and she felt like the pieces are being glued back together.
"I missed you so much"she admitted.
"Its been a while"
"I really missed you"she confirms again "Please don't leave me like that again"
The way that Sebastian gazed at her and gave her a gentle forehead kiss seems to be a promise that he won't go away again.
There were a lot of questions that remained unanswered but Y/N is too distracted to ruin the whole thing by asking those. She is just happy to have him back and she wants to savor every moment with him.
2013, Nürburgring
"She seems to fit right in the family" Norbert told his son "Any progress?"
Sebastian was in a lovestruck smile as he gazed his attention to the garden where his mother and Y/N were conversing together. It wasn't the first time that his parents met Y/N but this was the first time that he brought her to his childhood home.
"I'm working on things"Sebastian replied.
"She is a wonderful girl. You treasure her and you don't make her cry alright?"Norbert reminded.
"Papa, its like you are handing me out for marriage already"Sebastian snickered.
"Isn't that the main point of dating? To get married eventually"
The word marriage seems to be foreign in the conversation between the couple. They both know and understand that they have to settle the score between their respective jobs to ensure that there is no conflict. Then the team mate thing has to be resolved as well. On top of that, they both have careers and dreams that they want to achieve.
But making Y/N a Vettel is something in the plans.
"You seem to be talking about us"Mrs Vettel called their attention out and Y/N's turned her head.
"Anything you want to share Seb?"Y/N wondered.
Sebastian just went forward to wrap an arm around Y/N. There was pure bliss in his eyes that everyone is getting along in the household. If he would make her a Vettel then she would be a happy addition to the family.
"What are you and Mama talking about?" Sebastian diverts the topic.
"Oh I'm just showing Y/N your childhood photos"Mrs Vettel gleefuly answered.
"Mama no"Sebastian groaned.
The albums from the past is filled with lots of photos of Sebastian that would be horrifying to show to the public. It includes his early track days, snotty seasons, and even some nerdy photos from school.
"You look adorable Seb"Y/N comforts "Look here Seb, this looks so cute. Is this you on your first day of school?"
The photo had a younger Sebastian holding hands with a blonde haired girl. They have their backpacks on and they seem to be giggling at the camera. Frankly, Sebastian have no memory of what they are talking about but they seem to have been caught conversing when the photo was taken
"Oh that's his first day of school with his friend Hanna"Mrs Vettel recognized.
"Hanna as in Hanna Prater?"Y/N inquired.
The mere mention of the name caused Sebastian's stomach to churn as if he swallowed a rock. The day have already been perfect but the name caused all of his worries to come back.
"You know Hanna?"the elder male Vettel asked.
"Yeah, I met her in some Grand Prix"Y/N answered "She was super sweet and she seems like a very supportive friend to Sebastian"
The way that Y/N talks about Hanna makes Sebastian feel more guilty about what transpired weeks ago. He couldn't have the heart to tell Y/N the truth about them. The first one in Brazil was an accident and could be something forgivable but what happened in Spain was something he was not sure of.
"Hey you seem pale? Are you alright?"Y/N voiced out her concern.
"I'm alright"
"You must be starving already, let's get you two some food"Mrs Vettel immediately got up from her seat.
"Mama you don't have to"Sebastian begs.
"Nonsense, you should get a plate or two before you go for the race weekend"Mrs Vettel argues.
It was useless to argue with his mother. Sebastian just raised his hands in surrender as his mother went off to the kitchen to prepare some meals for them to eat. She has also grabbed Mr Vettel and instructs him to set the table.
The couple was left alone and Y/N seems to be concerned with Sebastian.
"You can tell me anything that's bothering you" Y/N repeated
"I know"Sebastian sighs "But I'm not sure that I'm able to tell you this yet"
Her hands touched his face. It was a gentle caress meant to soothe Sebastian.
"I trust you, whenever you feel like talking then"Y/N smiles.
Those comforting words seems to be digging deeper wounds for Sebastian as the bile rises up in his throat. He wanted to tell her the truth of what happened but she is scared that in doing so that he might end up losing her.
He allows himself to be selfish for a little bit more time.

Dr ratio and student (adult) reader who tried really hard to study but she is kinda failing? 😭 I once had strict teacher like ratio and he was softer to me, so Idk if ratio would be the same or even more mean
this is a little different from what you asked. BUT. i Do think that he wouldn't be mean n would help u study because it means you're trying to not be an idiot and his whole shtick is trying to make people less dumb. ykwim. i might've projected a littol bit... times r tough what can i say <(ㅍ _ㅍ)> cw: blurb/headcanon format (?), hurt/comfort technically because ratio is a little mean. it's not that bad tho trust, university setting includes: gn!student!reader, professor!veritas ratio, can be read as either platonic or romantic (or favoritism lmao) wc: 1k
Tumblr media
-ˋˏ I think he would be pretty frustrated at first. How come all your studying did little to nothing to change your less-than-ideal grades? Especially when he’s the one teaching you, at this point it’s an insult to him and his teaching skills!
-ˋˏ ...but when you showed up to his office with your lips curled down in deep a frown, downturned brows and meek eyes that refused to meet his gaze for more than three seconds and reflected just how embarrassed (and almost ashamed) you were, he could only sigh and wave his hand to gesture for you to come in.
-ˋˏ You took out your textbook, your notes and the study guide he had made specifically for the final exam. They felt heavier in your hands than they usually do, since now he could very well take a single look at your messy, scribbled notes and turn you away for “wasting his time” like you’ve seen him do with other struggling students. You couldn’t afford failing this exam though, so you place down your things on his (now cleared) desk and sit at the edge of the chair he had across of him, silently praying to whatever god to grant you some mercy.
-ˋˏ His first reaction was... not good, for lack of better words. Your notes were a mess and there were splotches of black all over about five pages— the result of an unfortunate accident where your pen exploded in your hands during an all-nighter. He was tempted to turn you away or to, at the very least, scold you for being so disorganized, but he wouldn’t be the infamous Doctor Veritas Ratio if he did. One look at you and he could tell that you hadn’t slept properly in God-knows how long, that you hadn’t eaten a proper meal in just as long, and that you had the drive to study, but for a reason unknown to you, simply couldn’t. Or, at least not in a way that made you retain the information you tried to hammer into your brain.
-ˋˏ You'd sit there; hands folded in your lap, eyes refusing to meet his, silently waiting for him to say something, anything lest you implode on the spot. Ratio would gloss over your notes, eyes lingering on the little doodles of yourself you drew in the margins of the page with a little speech bubble saying ‘help’ right above it, and would hold in a sigh. Crossing his arms over his chest he would lean back in his chair and tilt his head, burning holes in your skull until you lifted your head up. He wouldn’t say a word, he’d be as patient as he needed to be, waiting.
-ˋˏ When you finally looked over at him you swore you felt your heart drop to your ass (how long had he been staring?) as you forced yourself to not grab your stuff and dip. “Um-” you started speaking but he promptly shut you up by interrupting you with a question of his own; “Do you honestly think you can study adequately in such conditions?”
-ˋˏ (Of course he’d notice, you scold yourself internally. There’s no way to successfully hide the dark circles under my eyes.)
-ˋˏ You’re taking way too long to answer, too absorbed into your head to speak, and it’s starting to get under his skin. His frown seems embedded onto his face, the absence of his plaster head making you quiver in fear from the sheer amount of frustration he must feel because of you. Unfortunately, you’re nowhere near as observant as he is— because if you were, you would have noticed that his frustration wasn’t aimed at you, but at himself. How did he let it get this bad? He’s supposed to be a teacher, and teachers are supposed to care for their pupils
-ˋˏ (It might seem like he couldn’t give two shits about his students, but he does care— in his own harsh way. He considers kicking people out of his class a blessing; if he didn’t care about their wellbeing, he would have let them stay and feel stupid as well as let them be completely overwhelmed as a result of not understanding the content of his lessons and the workload he assigns. Of course, he doesn’t want people to drop his class, but if that’s what it takes for people to not go insane then so be it. He’s made peace with it.)
-ˋˏ “When was the last time you were able to sleep for longer than eight hours consecutively?” he asks, intense gaze unfaltering as your eyes dart all over his office in a poor attempt at avoiding the inevitable. Finally, you look at him sheepishly, and mumble a number that was far from satisfactory in his books. He clicks his tongue and unfurls his arms, grabbing your books strewn across his desk and shuts them, sliding them over towards you. You sit, puzzled and flustered that you’ve gone all this way just for him to kick you out. If he was going to be an ass, he should have just dismissed you as soon as—
-ˋˏ “Your assignment is to get a good night’s rest. Do not come into my classroom if you haven’t slept for 8 hours minimum. If I see you work dark circles as prominent as the ones you have right now, I’ll drag you to the nearest bed or couch myself.”
...Can’t say you expected that kind of response.
-ˋˏ You can’t even get a word in before he beats you to it, already knowing what you were about to say. “I’ll let you retake the exam if I deem your health to be unacceptable when you arrive in the lecture hall for the exam.” You shut your mouth, unsure of what to even say in response. You really felt like you were being scolded.
-ˋˏ He would gladly help you study when you come back looking (and feeling) refreshed, though. Not that he’d show it with his body language, but his actions said everything. He’d bring energy bars for you to snack on while he explained material you struggled with, would be patient when you’d ask seemingly dumb questions (one time you asked him why he hadn’t kicked you out of his class yet, and that was the first time he actually scolded you. Because that was the first dumb question you asked him).

pairing: Simon "Ghost" Riley x fem!reader words: 3.3k tags: death. blood. zombies of course. reader menstruates. single dad ghost. there will be sex but it isn't here yet. slow burn!!! enemies to lovers. summary: After losing your companions, you run into a skull-masked man and his daughter. They are your last hope for survival. a/n: some chill stuff before more angst ya know
The next morning, it is your turn to slip a treat into Blue’s hand.
You can tell by her expression that the Twix bar is like gold to her. Her teeth sink in. She stifles a moan. She hisses a swear you haven’t heard yet— Fucking noodles.
It reminds you of the time Paul found a Cadbury egg for Joseph. You smile as you watch, the kind where your teeth manage to poke through and your cheeks have to do some stretching. Ghost is chopping wood somewhere on the other side of camp, but still, you decided to close the shed’s door.
Last night, you were too worn to stay in the cabin for long. You left just after Ghost shucked on some large helmet with two strange eyepieces attached to it. To see in the dark, Blue explained in a whisper. Of course he would have that. When you asked him where he was going, he’d mumbled under his breath, Gonna make sure you didn’t have any bloody followers. You hadn’t even thought of that. He must not have thought of it until you actually showed up, either. He expected you not to make it.
You don’t know how long he was out there, but by the fact that you’d woken up to his axe chopping wood instead of heads, you figured the territory was clear.
“Better than Nutella?” you ask Blue.
Grey light streaks through the shed and over her face. The smell of potential rain looms in the air.
“That’s a tough question,” she says, licking the residue from her lips. She’s eaten half. She folds the wrapper over to cover the rest and hands it to you. Sweets like these are rare. You told her you’d keep it in your bag until she wanted the rest.
“I think it’s a strong tie,” she decides and then groans, moving her chin to the dip of her folded knees. “I wish chocolate could be hunted.”
“Me, too.”
“Are you sure you don’t want the rest?” She sounds guilty. “It is your Twix.”
“No, really. It’s a thank you.” Your knee gives a nudge to hers. “As if you haven’t given me food that is yours before.”
The guilt turns into a smile.
“You know,” she then says, eyes flicking to your pillowcase bag of looted goods. “When I was looking at your clothes last night, I got an idea of how you could fix them. Can I—” she tilts her head, “Can I show you something?”
She leaves Grim with you as she departs to collect whatever it is she has to share. It turns out to be a magazine of all things. She clutches it to her chest, rolling her lips together before turning it around to show you. The bright ink is faded a little. The corners bent and worn. The date of the issue reads March 2018. There is a woman on the front - some model you can’t remember the name of - clad in a tight blue dress.
The sight is just as weird as the abandoned streets and homes. For a moment, you look down at the skin of your hands, abraded from your bowstring, and press your lips.
“Remember how I told you Ghost and I went to a military base once?” Looking back up, you nod. “Well, we were mainly there to get ammo but we also went through the barracks— that’s where they slept.”
She explains it as if you have no clue, which you don’t. Never in your life did you care about the military, except for that first day when you hoped they might come to find you in some big tanks or something. They didn't.
Blue giggles. “I found this in one of the men’s old dorms.”
When she sees your expression, she says, “It’s okay. I’m not stupid. Ghost told me his old teammates liked to look at pictures of pretty women sometimes when they got bored. Anyway, I’ve looked through it so many times. I like all the fancy clothes people used to wear.”
She begins to flip through the pages and points out a few things. Where before you sometimes zoned out, your mind distracted by survival, this time you listen fully. One page has an ad with lush grass in the background and she informs you that the shade of green is her favorite color.
“Not blue?”
“That is my name, not my favorite color." Her nose scrunches. "What is yours?”
Do you even have one? You think for a moment. What comes to mind are the flowers your mother used to grow at the house in Norbury.
“Violet,” you softly say. “Like the flowers.”
“Huh?”
“They are like… a bluish purple.”
“Oh! There are some flowers like that by the pond sometimes. Hopefully, they come back this year."
Another page she points to has people laying on a white beach with crystal-like water. Blue says she hopes to go there someday. Not to just any beach. That beach.
When she passes an ad with a young man’s face on it - someone about your own age - she pauses for a moment and looks up.
"Do you think he is cute?" she asks. A tender curiosity.
"Um," you can't remember the last time you saw a man's face besides Paul. Ghost is always covered. She holds the page up so you can see it better. A sharp jaw. Dark hair and a strong nose.
"Yeah, he is very cute. Do you think so?"
She nods and bites her lip. "Did you… have a husband before shit happened?"
"What?" You frown. "I'm not that old."
"A boyfriend, then?"
"I had," you search the memories. They feel unimportant. Buried. "I had a few people who I enjoyed spending time with in uni."
"Like sex?"
You almost choke. "What?"
"I am not stupid," she says again. "The rabbits. They do it all the time. Ghost told me that's how they have their babies, and that is how him and my mum had me."
Oh. This is the first time Blue has ever mentioned her mother and you don't know why, but it makes your stomach tight. But she doesn't add anything else about her, as if she'd just told you the sky is blue or Grim is her friend. Something so casual. Brushed aside. As if, she hadn't mentioned it at all.
You don't pry about it.
Not to a kid. Trauma, grief— you can only imagine what a young brain has decided to do with them. But for a moment, your brain tries to imagine what kind of woman it could have been, what kind of woman Ghost enjoyed spending his time with. The only thing you can picture is Blue's eyes. She clearly didn't get them from him.
Blue moves on from the picture of the man. The page she really meant to show you is of a woman wearing jeans with a belt around them. She points to it and explains you could try something like that for the jeans you found.
Right. Jeans. Along with the blouse you grabbed, you got an ugly pink sweater and some jeans that won’t fit you.
"That’s called a belt," you say. “I don’t have one.”
“I have an old shoelace,” Blue says. “How about that?”
“That could work.”
Blue tells you bluntly that you need to bathe first. You smell like those fucks, no offense. You take your new clothes and she finds you a rag. In the bathroom, you harshly scrub your skin to erase the smell of rot. You wash your hair which is slick with sweat.
On your wrist, you notice a light bruise growing where that Grey had grabbed you. Luckily, you were too tired last night for your brain to conjure up any nightmares, otherwise, you probably would've had one about it biting you. Even a bite to just your hand - to a finger - would be enough for the virus to enter the bloodstream. You don’t want to admit it, but with that revolver, Ghost saved your life again.
After bathing, you slip on the blouse and a pair of too-big jeans. Blue gives you the shoelace. You feed it through the belt loops. It works well enough. The pantlegs fall past your ankles so you roll them. You tuck the large blouse so the excess fabric won’t get in the way while you hunt. The sweater… you don’t bother with it for now. It’s not warm enough. You will stick with Paul’s old coat when you go outside.
You look in the mirror again.
You stroke your own cheek, looking yourself over. You smooth your hands over the clothes. Underneath, you feel the plush of your breasts. The muscles of your stomach. The curves of your ribs. You are almost back to your normal weight, but it is still evening out. Under your eyes, the skin remains grey. Floorboards and stress will do that to a person.
"Let me see," Blue says on the other side of the door before you open it. You can still hear Ghost chopping wood outside.
“It’s not as bad as I thought it would be.” She touches the sleeves. “These are pretty long. They will get in the way when you shoot arrows, right?”
You nod. “Can you bring me the scissors?”
After you cut the sleeves down to your wrists, Blue picks up the scraps of fabric. “Hey, you could tie your braids with these. Like ribbons.”
"I could," you shrug and give a smile. "But I think they would look nicer on you."
The shyness returns as she nods. Gently, you guide her in front of the mirror and begin working your fingers through her hair, just as you do most evenings.
You notice her staring in the mirror with studious eyes as if she is trying to understand exactly what she sees. You wonder if she ever compares herself to those girls in the magazine. An eleven-year-old you certainly used to.
"You look very pretty, Blue."
"It doesn't matter if I do," she shrugs. "It's not like anyone will ever actually get to see me."
"Well," you swallow, "I get to see you right now, and I think you are pretty."
"Thanks.” She accepts the compliment with a puckered expression, before it softens and she adds, "I think you are, too, Twix.”
Twix?
But before you can question it, you hear the front door shut and realize that the sound of chopping wood has been gone for at least a minute. It is clearly Ghost entering the cabin.
You drop your hands before you can finish the braids, stepping back.
He calls out her name.
Recalling the rifle he pointed at you yesterday, you whisper to Blue, "Maybe you should go out before he—“
But of course, his heavy boots approach. The dark shadow of him materializes in the bathroom's doorway, consuming the space with his head dipped down to fit.
You turn around to face her father at the same time Blue does. His brows are drawn low and in one hand he carries the axe. You notice a sheen of sweat at the bridge of his nose where his mask begins.
The thing is, you try to avoid being spotted alone with Blue like this. She talks to you in your shed. You interact when he is busy with things.
Ghost reaches for Blue’s hand. He gently tugs her to him. He cups the back of her head and bends down to meet her level, though he is still much taller.
"Remember what we talked 'bout?”
What did they talk about?
"I remember," she mumbles. She tugs her arm away. "I was just helping her with her new clothes.” Smoothly, she changes the topic. “What do you think? The shoelace was my idea."
Blue. You almost groan, feeling his dark eyes slowly shift over to you. You think you would rather him press the axe to your throat than share his opinion about your clothes— they aren’t exactly like what the models in Blue’s magazine wore. His stare rarely does anything other than burn holes through your skin, so it is no surprise when you feel the heat through your blouse, up your neck, and all the way to your cheeks.
You look down at your feet.
Then, a bitter memory comes to mind.
You look like you're one 'em already.
That is what Ghost said once.
For a brief moment, you wonder if he still thinks it.
He doesn’t give an answer. All he does is clear his throat. Your strange curiosity fades as he stands and looks down at his daughter.
"C'mon, kid. Start the fire with me."
"No, not yet. She needs to finish my hair, Ghost."
He allows it, but remains in the doorway, watching as you finish her braids, using the fabric as floral bows to tie them off.
It looks nice.
Tumblr media
It rains just like you thought it would.
Not too heavy, but enough to cut your hunt short for the day, earning you only one squirrel.
When you return to camp, you find Blue crouched over the wood planter as she covers the sodden soil with a layer of mulch. Apparently, Ghost had her plant some cabbage seeds before the rain. The mulch is to stop the seeds from washing away, she explains.
Spring will soon arrive. With it, some crops to add to their meals. Good for them. Maybe you can convince Ghost to lend you a seed or two to plant for yourself.
After dinner, you sit by the fireplace with your boots off in order to warm your toes. The soft drum of rain against the cabin's walls lulls you into a trance as you listen to Ghost quietly read to Blue. Sometimes he points to words for her to try.
Tonight it is a book you recognize.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Your father read it to you once. A younger version of yourself told him it was too boring. But now you find yourself quite liking the story about a magic wardrobe where kids can escape to another world.
Blue falls asleep on the couch. Ghost carries her to bed like usual. It is your time to leave. The rain has died down some but you already know the water has probably leaked into your shed. Lovely.
But again you are stopped by a hand around your arm.
You turn to see Ghost. He clutches the map in the other hand.
“Um. What is it?”
You slip your arm away, his grip allowing it. Is he mad about you hanging out with Blue? Did he discover your secret exchanges? Is he going to finally kick you out since you didn't die like he probably hoped?
“Sit with me.”
You raise your eyebrows. He motions for you to follow him to the table so you sit down, hands in your lap, and pick at the skin of your knuckles. He spreads the map open. He also has a pencil in his hand. Between gloved fingers, he fiddles with it before sliding it over to you.
To your surprise, he demands, “Show me where you went.”
Although confused, you abide, making a small mark over the village. Ribchester.
His eyes narrow. “Not jus’ that. Show me which way you went.”
“This way,” you say, annoyed by his tone. Faintly, you draw a line through the forest all the way to the highway. “Then I followed the road.”
He takes the pencil from you and slides the map back in front of him, sweeping his eyes over the marks you’ve made. Under the black fabric, you detect the contour of his lips pressed into a straight line.
“How many were there?”
“Not many, really,” you admit. “Do you… Are you wanting to go there?”
You furrow your brows as you recall what Blue said. They don't make trips often. It is not like Ghost has much need to.
“No.” Not looking at you, he draws a mark some kilometers south of the one you made. “I want to go here.”
“Why?”
“I need ammo.”
His voice is clinical and gruff. You definitely prefer it over threatening. As he continues, it officially becomes the most words he has ever spoken to you.
“Went to a base over here two years ago.” He points a gloved digit to a spot on the east side of the forest. That must be the trip that Blue was talking about. “Wasn’t much left. Took what I could.”
“You’re all out of ammo, then?”
He gives you a flat look. “No. But I’m runnin’ low. I don’t want to wait until I am all out to go. Need some ammo to make it there, don’t I?”
“Why haven’t you gone sooner?” you pry slowly. “Why do you want to go now?”
“Got a bit more to lose than you do.”
It is a harsh truth, inviting a sharp breath through your lungs. What he means is he has someone he loves, unlike you. Someone he can’t just leave behind on her own.
You realize that Ghost probably avoids leaving this haven he has set up for that very reason, and maybe it is also why he is particularly conservative about their supplies. Whenever they end up running low, he has to drag her along with him to get more. The threats out there can be hard to predict. You’d been lucky.
Ghost continues.
“But if you could make it through here,” he gestures back to the marks you made. The route can act as a way to the military base, but he would still have to go further, maybe 10 kilometers past the village. “Then I can make it that way with her.”
You nod slowly as you begin to wonder why he is telling you this. But then, it sinks in, a pit settling in your stomach. If they leave, where are you supposed to go?
Ghost must read the expression that takes over your face. You don't wear a mask.
“You’re comin’ with us.”
“What?” You stand up, shaking your head as you hiss through your teeth. “No. I don’t want to. I just fucking got back.”
“You’re not staying here on your own,” he growls quietly. “I’m not askin’ whether you want to go or not.”
You catch his eyes. Black glass reflects the dim glow of the fire.
Of course.
He doesn’t trust you enough to stay here.
You have no choice.

The Dinner Scene (Incredibles au)
This is so long, but I have had so much fun with it. A lot of this is just pure chaos lol.
ao3 link
————————————————————
“Mom, Four’s making weird faces at me.”
Malon looked up from where she was putting food on her plate, and saw Wind staring across the table with a foul look. Four crossed his arms at Wind’s complaint and shook his head. “Am not, these peas just taste funny.”
“Ooh, are those the ones that were on the top shelf?” Wild said as he leaned over, long hair almost falling in his food, “those are from last February.”
Four turned a little green. “...That would explain it.”
Wild leaned forward to grab one, but Malon smoothly grabbed the plate out from under his hands, and made the executive decision to promptly dump the questionable peas into the trash.
The perils of leftover night.
“What would you like instead honey?” Malon asked as she dusted her hands off, “carrots? Green beans?”
“Maybe an antacid?” Legend suggested with a smirk, but Four only shrugged and grabbed some broccoli off of Time’s plate. He’d barely eaten anything, instead reading the newspaper for what seemed like word for word.
Malon looked over at him, letting out a small sigh. “Honey, do you have to read that right now?”
Time’s attention was solely on the newspaper in front of him, scanning the headlines. “Uh-huh... yeah...”
Malon rolled her eyes in mostly-fond exasperation, and sat back down, wiping some pea juice on a napkin. She looked around the table, and raised an eyebrow at Hyrule, who was attempting to shove an entire steak into his mouth.
“Whoa hun, yikes, smaller bites. If you need help cutting it just ask someone, remember?” Hyrule looked at her sheepishly, and Malon tapped her husband on the arm. “Time, would you help the carnivore with his meat?”
Time nodded and wordlessly reached over to help Hyrule cut through the tough steak, eyes never leaving the paper. Malon then cleared her throat and turned to Wind, giving him a pointed look as he shrank in his seat.
“So Wind, do you have something you wanna tell your father about school?” she asked mildly. His brothers all turned to look at him in interest, and Wind sunk even further.
“Well we uh, dissected a frog.”
Wind let out a nervous laugh as Wild perked up, and Malon sighed.
“Honey, Wind got sent to the office again,” she said as Wild began grilling Wind for frog details, and Time hummed distractedly, still reading the newspaper.
Malon’s eyebrows lowered, and she tugged the newspaper down from where it was blocking her husband’s face, finally making him look up.
“What?” he asked, paying attention now.
Malon looked him in the eye. Gracious was he distracted tonight. “Wind got sent to the office again.”
Time frowned, and looked over at Wind, who was looking rather small. “What? What for?”
“Nothing!” he said quickly, and Malon crossed her arms.
“He put a tack on the teacher’s chair. During class,” she said with a frown, and Hyrule and Wild both looked over at him with impressed expressions.
“Wait, really?” Hyrule said, sounding awed.
Wild grinned. “You did it during class? That’s so—!”
Malon raised an eyebrow at him and he coughed and looked away.
“—bad. Really bad. You should know better, Wind. For shame.”
Malon gave Wind a pointed look, and he sat up, looking defensive.
“Why does it matter? Nobody saw what I did! You could barely even see it on the tape!” he defended, crossing his own arms. “And I didn’t even actually get in trouble, Mr. Cole just went on one of his dumb rants again.”
Time blinked and faced his son, unable to help an impressed smile from forming on his face. “You got caught on tape and still got away with it? Wind, you must have used hurricane force winds just to move it fast enough, that’s amazing,” he said, and Wind perked up, obviously eager to explain. “How did you manage—?”
“Time,” Malon interrupted with a firm look. “We’re not encouraging this behavior.”
“Um, Dad..?” Hyrule spoke up, but nobody heard him.
Time’s eyebrows lowered. “I’m not encouraging it, I’m just asking how fast he managed to—”
“Dad—”
“Honey, we can’t let him use his powers in class! How is that—”
“Dad!”
Time suddenly cut straight through the dinner plate and the table, sending an entire corner of the wood to the floor along with half the plate.
Hyrule mumbled an “I tried to tell you,” and Time dropped the utensils and put a hand to his forehead, letting out a tight sigh.
“Wonderful. First the car, and now we‘ll have to fix the table...”
“The car? What happened to the car?” Malon asked worriedly. Her husband hadn’t said anything about that since they’d been home.
Time didn’t reply, standing from the table with a heavy sigh.
“I’ll go get a new plate,” he muttered, then left the room.
Malon sighed as well, and the rest of the family resumed eating, albeit much quieter than before. It appeared her husband had had a rather unpleasant day. Looked like she’d have to corner him later and figure out what was bothering him.
More and more of his days seemed to be unpleasant lately.
“Twilight honey? How about you, did anything interesting happen at school?” she asked in an effort to break the somewhat awkward silence. Her oldest son had been rather quiet so far.
“Not really,” he said quietly, rubbing his temple.
Malon watched him for a minute, something in his voice setting off her mom instincts. “Is everything okay?” she asked gently, “You’ve hardly touched your food.”
“Just a headache,” he murmured. “I’m okay. And anyway, Legend’s barely touched his food too.”
Malon looked over at her other son, and Legend wrinkled his nose a bit. “I’m not really hungry for meatloaf,” he grumbled, pushing his food around on his plate.
Wild grinned from across the table and leaned in. “Well, it’s leftover night! We have steak, pasta, monster soup, some old seafood fry and that weird greenish-purple stuff in the way back. What are you hungry for?”
Wind coughed. “Marin Koholi~” he singsonged, and Four giggled when Legend snapped his head towards him.
“Wind be quiet—”
“Well you are!” Wild piped up, blinking innocently as Wind grinned at him. “She doesn’t even know you exist, yet you still drool after her every single day—”
Legend growled and banged a hand on the table. “Shut up Wild or I’ll—“
“That’s enough you three, do not shout at the table,” Malon said as she leaned forward, spreading her hands between the boys. “Honey!”
“Listen to your mother!” Time shouted from the kitchen, which immediately shut the three of them up.
Dinner resumed for the third time that evening, the seven occupants of the table quietly eating the food on their plates.
“...Bet he’d be hungry if we were having Marin loaf—”
“That’s IT!”
Legend dove for Wind, who shrieked and ducked out of the way, nearly crashing into Four who was just trying to eat his dinner in peace. The kid ducked, and Wind somehow ended up smushing what was left of Hyrule’s dinner.
“Hey! Your elbow got in my potatoes!”
“Sorry ‘Rule— ah!”
Legend made a grab for Wind, but he used his winds to leap out of the way, then promptly bolted out of the room.
“Boys!”
Legend ignored Malon, narrowing his eyes and turning on Wild instead, who saluted before bolting impossibly fast out of the room after Wind.
“Get back here!” Legend shouted at the two, and Twilight watched with an exasperated look as his brother turned invisible except for his clothes, sprinting after them into the living room.
“That’s enough you three, stop running in the house,” Malon warned as they chased each other, “Sit down and finish your dinner!”
Wind charged back into the room with Legend on his heels, then suddenly crashed into a bright red shield, grabbing his nose as he let out a cry of pain.
“Ow! Hey, no shields!” he cried, and Hyrule crossed his arms.
“You wrecked my potatoes!”
“Well Wild started it!”
“I did not!”
And that started an all-out brawl at the table, Wild jumping at Legend as he attempted to stay invisible and make himself less of a target while Wind frantically avoided them both. Twilight had turned into a wolf and was snapping at all of them, and Hyrule was throwing shields in at random moments, all while Four continued to quietly eat his broccoli.
“Boys sit down! You’re going to hurt someone!“ Malon shouted over the ruckus, but nobody except Four even heard her. “Time!”
In the kitchen Time had just grabbed a non-broken plate, and upon hearing the commotion coming from the dining room, quickly set down his newspaper and prepared to head back in. But a headline from his discarded paper suddenly jumped out at him, and he froze, setting down the plate and picking the news back up.
“‘Darmani Gorro, longtime advocate of superhero rights, is missing’?” he muttered in shock, quickly scanning the article.
Darmani... Blazing Fist...
“Missing... just like Sky?” he whispered, then heard a shriek from the dining room. He set down the paper for the moment and rushed back through the doorway, blinking in surprise at the war zone he’d suddenly found himself in.
“Link! Don’t just stand there!” Malon shouted over the ruckus. She had an arm on Wind and another clutching her son that was currently a wolf, but seemed to be making little difference in anything going on. “I need you to intervene!”
Time floundered a moment, unsure of where to start, before striding forward to where he could reach everyone. Then he grabbed the table and lifted it up, several of his children hanging off the sides and still yelling at each other.
“I’m intervening! Now what?!”
Malon didn’t hear him. “Wind, let go of your brother! Twilight do not lick Legend’s ear— for goodness sakes, stop it!”
Then the clear chime of the doorbell rang through the house.
All eight of them swung their heads at the door and froze, eyes wide.
Then Time set down the table and everyone immediately took their seats like they’d never been fighting at all. “I’ll get it,” Wind said quietly, and got up off his chair while the rest of them tried to fix the table into a more normal-looking mess. They watched in silence as Wind walked over to the front door, and Malon gave Time an uneasy glance.
Had one of the neighbors heard something?
Or worse, seen something?
Wind cautiously pulled the door open and blinked up at the blond-haired man standing on their front porch. A blue scarf was draped around his shoulders, and the moment Wind saw it he launched himself at the man with a cheer.
“Uncle Warriors!” he yelled, and a sigh of relief went up from the table behind him.
“Hey kiddo,” Warriors grinned, catching him and ruffling his hair. “It’s been a bit, huh? Sorry about that, things have been busy. How’re your powers these days?”
“Strong as a hurricane!” Wind declared proudly, then flicked a gust at Warriors’ scarf so it flared out behind him.
“Nice!” he said in an impressed voice, admiring Wind’s work, “I should get you to follow me around all the time and make me look cool.”
Wind beamed, and Warriors turned to the rest of the family, giving them a smile. “Hi Malon. And Twi. And Ledge and Wild and ‘Rule, and Four.” He hesitated for a second. “I forget anyone?”
“Just me,” Time said with a relieved smile, and stood to give Warriors a clap on the shoulder. “Ice of you to drop by.”
Warriors gave him a rather flat look. “Old man, that wasn’t funny the first ninety-nine times you said it, and isn’t funny the hundredth.”
Time smirked. “I’ll hold out hope for a hundred and one.”
“Hey Warriors!” Wild called from the table, then drank and spat an entire mouthful of water at him from across the room before Malon could tell him not to.
Warriors lunged forward and shot some ice from his hands, instantly freezing the water and catching it before it could hit the ground. He held the frozen water out to Wild with a grin, and his nephew took it with a slightly disappointed expression.
“Aw... I like when it shatters.”
Time grabbed his coat from the closet as Warriors made the rounds and asked how everyone was doing, before ruffling Legend’s hair and making him squawk.
“How you doing Ledge? See your carrot obsession hasn’t faded,” he teased with a look at his plate.
“And I see you’re still insufferable as ever, uncle freezer burn,” Legend huffed back, whacking his hand off his head.
“Aw, I love you too.”
Time walked over and gave Malon a quick kiss before he tugged his coat on the rest of the way. “I’ll be back later.”
“Where are you two going?” Malon asked as Warriors pulled Time impatiently to the door.
“It’s Wednesday, remember?”
“Oh, bowling night,” Malon said with a sigh. “I’d forgotten what day it was. Have fun you two, and say hi to Arty for me, will you hon? I want you two to come over for dinner sometime soon.”
Warriors nodded with a smile. “Sure thing Malon. Good night everyone.”
“Bye Wars,” they all chorused back, and Warriors pushed Time the rest of the way out of the house. Malon then turned back towards Wind, who had been quietly trying to slip off his chair in the bustle of the two leaving.
“Don’t think you’ve avoided talking about your trip to the principal’s office, young man,” she said sternly, and Wind froze. “Your father and I are still gonna discuss it.”
Wind crossed his arms and kicked at the floor. “I’m not the only kid who’s been sent to the office you know,” he mumbled, and Malon sighed. What are we going to do with him?
“Other kids don’t have superpowers hon. Now, it’s perfectly normal...”
“Normal?” Legend suddenly cut in, his face still foul from the earlier argument and exchange with his uncle. “What do you know about normal? What does anyone in this insane family know about normal?” he snapped, and Malon frowned.
“Now wait a minute Legend—”
“We just act normal! I wanna be normal!” he said, standing up and dropping his fork with a clang. “I’m sick of being weird! The only normal one out of all of us is Four, and he’s only three feet tall!”
Four shrugged and continued to eat his broccoli.
“Lucky,” Wind grumbled. “about being normal, I mean.”
Malon sighed and rubbed her forehead as Legend slammed his plate down and stomped out of the room, the rest of her sons exchanging looks.
“...Can I be excused?” Twilight asked quietly, and Malon nodded as he slipped away as well.
The perils of leftover night.

The Patron Saint of One Way Trips
Ch4
Tumblr media
Description: chapter 4 - I’m not entirely sure if this is any good. I need to go through and edit it but I’ll do that when I’m closer to knowing what’s actually gonna happen 🤣 we will wait and see! I’ve posted this on ao3 as well - same username and title. I love Wes Anderson, hence the Isle of Dogs theme. Feel that it fits the theme of this fic too. Anyhoo..
Tumblr media
I allow Gaz to lead me to a well lit room. It looks like some sort of living area. Comfortable sofas and carpeted floors. This was totally foreign to me after my time spent in the facility. I felt so out of place. I flit my gaze to Gaz who must notice my discomfort or awkwardness, and he beckons at me to sit down on the sofa. I am still zipped up inside his warm jacket, which smells of a warm vanilla scent mixed with some variation of citrus fruit.. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it is comforting and calming. I try not to make it obvious that I am taking in his scent.
The others are already situated in their seats. I feel all of their eyes itching into my skin. I shrink back into myself again. The pack Alpha, their Captain, clears his gruff throat before speaking. "We have received information from Laswell. She has found your file and is going to send it over as soon as it is secured in the system.. she has told us you are not a direct threat to us. Is this correct, Laika? Can we trust you?"
I feel like scoffing at him. Me? Can they trust me? It's almost laughable that a pack of four huge Alpha's think that I, a drugged, undesignated girl, could threaten them. Not to mention that I am not in the best of shape due to lack of nutrition and poor sleeping habits. "Well..?" he prompts. I met his gaze for the first time since they'd found me. "I pose no threat to you or your pack members, Captain" - I decide to address him officially as pack Alpha. He stands a little straighter than he was before, obviously happy with my answer. I feel a sense of relief wash over me before dropping my gaze back to the floor.
A growl echoes through the silence, the others all looking between each other to find the source of the sound. Their eyes land on me. I can feel my face redden under their scrutiny - my stomach is the source of the growl. "S-sorry" I stutter anxiously. Gaz steps forward slowly and smiles down at me. "C'mon, let's go and get some food. I could eat too." He nods towards the left and I follow the motion with my eyes and see an open door to what looks like a kitchen. I stand up nervously and follow Gaz, taking the widest possible route around the masked man and Soap, still not trusting them.
I step into the kitchen area and Gaz opens the fridge and inspects the contents. "What d'ya like?" he asks. I shrug. "Not really eaten much since- since I've been their asset.. I-I used to like soup though.." - "Soup? Let me check the cupboards. Think we've got tomato.." He moves around the kitchen smoothly, opening and closing cupboards when he doesn't find what he is looking for. I stand in the corner quietly, trying to avoid getting in the way. "C'mere" he beckons me over - "tomato or chicken?" he nods to a stack of four tins -two of each flavour- stacked neatly in the overhead cupboard. "J-just whatever is spare will be nice. Th-thanks" I whisper. "C'mon, love, try to stop being so shy with me.. you can trust me, even if you aren't sure about my packmates yet, yeah? I promise you they're good men underneath their tough exteriors.." he tries to convince me. "S-sorry.. I'll try harder" I murmur. I decide to try and be bold - I step closer to him and look over his shoulder into the cupboard to inspect the tins of soup. "Tomato would be nice.." I utter quietly. Gaz's smile is instant. It lights up the entire room, my eyes drawn to it. Wow - he had beautiful teeth. Sharp canines, gleaming white.. It reminded me that my teeth had been neglected - only able to brush them a couple of times a week when they allowed me to shower. I suddenly find myself feeling self-conscious. I haven't even properly looked in a mirror for at least a year..
I step back again, feeling a little anxious after my inner thoughts had caught up with me. Damn him and his big, perfect smile. And his deep, kind eyes. "How buttery do you want your bread?" The question snaps me out of it. "Butter?.. uhm.. same as you?" I question my own answer. "I've not had butter for ages. Just stale or mouldy bread.." I admit. He sighs sadly, but immediately tries to cheer me up. "You should see how Soap takes his bread. I swear he would use an entire block of butter per slice if he could. It's gross" he says jokingly. I release the smallest giggle at that. He is smiling so brightly now that he knows that he successfully made me laugh. My defences drop for a split second thanks to the growing comfort I am feeling in Gaz's presence, and my mouth blurts out before I can catch it "they scare me..”
Gaz snaps his gaze back down to mine - "What? Who? Soap..? He is harmless" - "and the masked one" I add blushing, anxiously. "That's Ghost - the masked one. He can take a while to warm up to strangers.. he won't hurt you though. Promise" he reassures me. My eyes follow his hand closely as he gently places it on my shoulder, attempting to comfort me, I assume. I try not to tense up or flinch at the soft touch. I just stare at his hand until he slowly withdraws it. I jump slightly when the microwave dings. Gaz pours the soup into a bowl and hands it to me with a plate full of buttered bread. I stand there confused, just staring at the food that I am holding.
"C'mon, hope you don't mind eating on the sofa. We usually just eat off our laps.." he shrugs. "It smells nice.." I compliment, following him as he holds the kitchen door open for me seeing as I had my hands full. I, once again, take the widest route around Soap and Ghost.. I sit down at the very end of the sofa and wait for Gaz to sit in the place next to me, subconsciously using him as a barrier to the outside room.
"What did Gaz make you for tea, lass?" the rich Scottish voice chirped. I jump in my seat slightly. I quietly respond "Tomato soup" without looking at him, remaining hidden behind Gaz's body. Soap leans forward and looks right at me "Smells delicious. Any leftovers, Gaz?" he asks. "Make your own... tins are in the cupboard" - "Awkt, but you made her some.." - "I'm not microwaving soup for you, Soap, piss of mate" - "Fuck sake, ya prick, though we were supposed to be packmates.." The duo go back and forward like this in a light hearted tone for a couple of minutes. "I - I don't mind letting you have this.." I offer anxiously, shakily holding my plate out towards Gaz, feeling guilty that I'd taken their food.
Gaz gently guides the plate back into my lap. "Don't be silly, bug, you haven't even started it and you haven't eaten properly for ages. Get eating!" He instructs, I listen - ever obedient. I gently lift the spoon to my mouth and slurp the soup into my mouth. I swear it's the best thing I've ever tasted. I hum quietly to myself. Unbeknownst to me, Gaz and Soap are watching me with a fond smile on their faces. I eat about half of the bowl, and a slice of bread before feeling utterly stuffed. I slowly lift my gaze from the food and glance at Gaz. "I can't eat any more.." I whisper. "You sure? You've not eaten much.." - "I'm full.." I reassure him. Soap suddenly sits forward in his seat again, making me shrink back slightly again. "Ya done, Lass?" - "mmhmm" I murmer shyly - "Here, hand it over then!" he says keenly. Before I can even process his words, he has leant over Gaz and stolen the bowl and plate from me and was groaning in pleasure at the taste. I blush slightly, embarrassed, that he hasn't even replaced the spoon I had been using. "For fuck sake, Soap, you know she's jumpy. Tone it down a bit - yeah?" Gaz suggests to Soap. "Aye, sorry just starvin' - Sorry wee'yin" he gobbles around a mouthful of bread. I just stare at the scene in front of me, lost for words.
With warm food in my belly for the first time in forever, I start feeling sleepy. I slowly unzip Gaz's jacket, now that I'm warm again, and hand it back to him. "Thanks.." I whisper, placing it on his lap. Gaz tries not to show his disappointment that you are no longer wearing his jacket - his scent. "Are you wanting me to show you to the spare room? Think it's set up ready to use.." he offers. "If that's ok.. I - I don't want to be a hassle.." - "None of that, now.. C'mon, follow me."
I stand and follow obediently again. I enter the hallway after Gaz. The walls are wallpapered with a white floral pattern. It's light and airy. Gaz walks up a set of stairs to an upper level, I follow him closely. He stops on the upper landing and points to the left hallway. "It's the second door on the right. You'll have your own bathroom too." I nod and hesitate before walking independently down the hallway, feeling a little insecure, but deciding to be brave anyway. I get to the door and slowly twist the door handle. I glance back at Gaz who just nods and turns to go back down stairs to join the rest of his pack.
I step into the room and take stock of everything in it. The walls are covered in blue and white striped wallpaper. There is a window on the back wall of the room. I check out the bathroom which is to the right hand side of the room - it has a shower, sink and a toilet, with another smaller window behind it. I step back into the main room and look at the bed. I hesitate before slowly lowering myself down on it. It's soft. I should feel comfortable, but instead I feel exposed. Unsafe. I decide to look around the bathroom again, digging through the cupboards to see what I could use. I find a few toothbrushes, still in the packs, so I remove one and hurry to brush my teeth. It's funny how such a small bit of self care can make me feel cleaner. I decide to strip from my filthy clothes and step into the shower. I turn the water on, accidentally blasting myself with freezing water before it started to heat up. I don't even squeal, being all too accustomed to cold showers. I do, however, moan when the water starts to heat up. I check out all of the soaps and products on the rack in the shower. It all looks like male stuff but I don't care. I absolutely lather myself in it. I repeat it several times over. Lather. Rinse. Lather. Rinse. And so on...
I finally step from the shower when my skin starts to wrinkle. I haven't felt this clean since - well - probably ever! The wall of steam floods the bedroom when I leave the bathroom. I get myself dry and search the chest of drawers for something clean to sleep in. From the looks of the contents inside, it looks like standard military style clothing. I find some dark joggers and a khaki t-shirt. I quickly dress, finding myself having to seriously tighten the drawstring around my waist of the trousers and roll the sleeves up of the long sleeved t-shirt. I climb into bed and pull the covers tightly around me. I toss and turn before finally dozing off.
*Gaz's POV*
I show her the directions to the room she is to stay in, deciding to stay back and let her check it out for herself. Soap had stayed in that room a few nights ago when he pissed everyone off so badly, Ghost decided to punish him by throwing him out of the pack bed for the night. I just hope he had left it clean enough for her. I walk downstairs to the rest of my pack. I sit back down in my space next to Soap, who immediately chucks his legs over me, to rest them on my lap. I massage his legs for him, making him purr. I smile softly at my pack mate.
Price speaks up then. "Kyle - what's going on with the girl then..?" - "She's scared.. terrified. Fuck knows what they've done to her but none of it has been good. I think she is warming up to me though" I reply. He nods in agreement. "Kate sent over her file. It looks like she's been tortured and drugged to comply. Her designation is unknown - but she has been the asset behind all four of the most recent Makarov hits. And several before these too, before we were called up, so she certainly isn't as harmless as she makes out." I find myself nodding too, trying to piece together what all of this means. "Who is she, then?" Soap asks. "Her government name is Y/N Y/L/N - they called her Laika - apparently she was always co-operative, or obedient, I think is the word they used. I guess she was thrashed into submission. They say she is of a gentle, anxious, nature but the drugs helped 'level' her - whatever that means" Price explains.
"Turned her into a puppet, that means. A puppet to do all of their dirty work" I spit back, disgusted and angry. "So the drugs, are they still in her system? Is that why she isn't giving off any scent or signs of her designation?" I ask. "That's something we are going to have to ask her, Kyle. The file mentions that she gets 'topped up' every couple of months when she starts showing resistance" - "Poor girl was trying to fight it" I interrupt Price.
"Don't start getting attached, Garrick." Simon grumbles at me. "Piss off" I snap back.
"I'm tired, let's go to bed, yeah, talk about it in the morning?" I suggest. "Yep, Kyle's right, bed - all of you" Price orders. We all stand and make our way to our room. I glance toward the door of Laika - Y/N's - room and all seems quiet. Hopefully she is sleeping, I think inside my head.
*Back to Laika (Y/N's) POV*
I wake, startled - seeing visions of pools of blood I had been the cause of. Seeing lifeless eyes of those I had killed. I leap out of bed and start feeling my arm for my handkerchief. Shit shit shit. I'd left it somewhere. I slide down the wall panicking, trying to remember where the hell I had put it. All this time at the facility and I'd managed not to lose it. It comes to me all of a sudden. Gaz's jacket. My handkerchief is in the pocket of his jacket. I sneak out of the room and try to quietly tip toe downstairs. The stairs are a bit creaky but being quiet is my speciality. I finally find my way to the room we had been sitting in when I had returned the jacket to Gaz. It wasn't there. My stomach sinks. A single tear falls from my eye. I slump on to the couch and try not to weep. I can't go rooting about looking for it. I will just have to calm myself down and go back to my room. I try to gather myself.
Five, or so, minutes later, I stand and start to make my way back up the stairs. I avoid all of the creaky parts of each stair and successfully make it to the upper landing. I turn toward my room and gently close the door. I fail to notice the dark, masked Alpha, watching my every move. He slinks back into his pack's room, not waking them.
I try to settle back in the bed, failing miserably. I find myself crawling under the bed with a pillow and blanket, feeling safer in an enclosed space. I finally settle into a restless sleep.

I couldn't save you tonight
pairings : geto suguru x reader summary : how can something so beautiful turns into a nightmare?
Tumblr media
"suguruu!!" you run towards him with your arms outstretched, ready to give him a big hug after he came back from his mission.
suguru's tired eyes gleam at the sight of you and open his arms as well, gracefully embracing you. feeling like his fatigue instantly disappear when he wraps his arms around your waist.
he buries his face at the crock of your neck, sniffing in your scent that he misses so much. your hands went up to his hair and brushes your fingers through his locks.
"come, you must be tired" you gently took his hand and tug him towards his dorm so he could rest.
suguru comply and walks behind you with a small smile plastered on his tired face.
stopping in front of your dorm you stop and looked at him, "do you want to eat something?"
suguru just shakes his head "no, i'm fine, i've already eaten on the way here" in which you just nods and gives him a quick "okay!" before walking to his dorm again.
opening the door, suguru went to the closet and took his clean clothes and change in the bathroom while you wait, sitting on his bed.
after a few moments suguru walks out of the bathroom fresh and clean. he approaches you and sit down beside you, laying his head on your shoulder and wrapping his arms around your waist.
watching him being clingy is not a rare sight when it's just the two of you in the room, so you just giggle at his action and ruffles his hair.
"you should rest now suguru, you've had a tough day" you said soothingly which only make suguru tighten his grip around you and buries his head into the crook of your neck.
"don't want to, just want to be with you" he muffled, sending vibration to your neck which made you shiver.
"you're just extra clingy today aren't you?" you laugh at his action and push him away gently, looking into his eyes.
"but seriously though, you need to take a rest" seeing your serious expression make suguru pout like a child.
"only if you accompany me" he said.
how could you possibly say no when he's looking at you with that adorable face?
you sigh and push his shoulder so he'd lay on the bed "okay, i will. but you have to rest, okay?" i raise an eyebrow at him, and he nods at your order "yes ma'am" he said before pulling you to lay next to him on the bed.
"you're not going anywhere pookie" he spoons you, locking you in his arms so you couldn't get out.
"who taught you that word suguru?!" you exclaim after processing his words.
"no one" he nuzzle his head on your shoulder, dozing off into his slumber.
if only things always went that way. if only things stays the way it should be. he'd still be here for you, he'd still smile and be his clingy self with you.
but he wont.
gone without any trace.
you curse yourself every day when you think about him.
that night, the last night you spent together like any other night, though he was acting a lot more clingy and romantic towards you. yet you thought nothing of it.
those days where he starts being distant and quiet. when he force a smile whenever you come and talk to him, when he always looked so drained.
why didn't you notice? why didn't you pressed more so he'd open up? why weren't you good enough?
those thoughts keep haunting you everyday since the news that geto suguru had murdered his entire family and other non-sorcerer was presented to you.
they must be joking, they must have the wrong geto suguru. because the geto suguru you know will never do that kind of thing, your geto suguru will never do it.
from that moment on, you felt like all the colours in your life was drained.
everything is only black and white, everything hurts.
suguru's absence really made a huge impact on your life and everyone keeps on telling you to move on, forget about him and continued living your life.
but how could you?
geto suguru was the first person that taught you what love is, geto suguru was the only person you love, the only one you're accustomed to love,
geto suguru was your everything, and you were his everything too, or so you thought.
a/n : i may make another part but idk, also as always reblogs and likes are very much appreciated!

..........................................................
Ananya reached her apartment around 1 am. Roma was not back yet, thankfully. She wasn’t ready for her interrogation.
The night still felt surreal. She leaned against the dining table and held on to the edges to steady the head-rush she was feeling. If the Tupperware of leftover pasta was not in front of her (he had insisted she took some coz she had barely eaten), the girl would have seriously wondered if she had hallucinated the whole thing. But no, this really happened. And she didn’t bail on whatever this was, as she had initially planned to do.
The wine was still buzzing in her system, helping calm her nerves. Before turning in for the night, she sent him a quick message.
Ananya: Reached 15 mins ago. Thanks for the drop.
She wasn’t expecting a response. He must have a ton of people to talk to / respond to after the match earlier that night. So she started an episode of Friends, hoping to fall asleep in a bit.
5 mins later, her phone flashed.
Jude: Cool. Tired?
Ananya: Oh yeah, in bed already. You?
She rubbed her temple to soothe her straining eyes. It had been some day.
Jude: Wanted to crash but some of the guys still partying at Vini’s house. Cama kept sending me videos, gosh he’s so wasted right now. Came there for a bit.
She smiled at her phone. The team deserved every bit of celebration tonight.
Ananya: That’s nice. Have fun :)
Jude: Yup. What plans for tmrw? Boss cancelled our training so I am free till afternoon.
Ananya: Have to work a few hours in the morning, which might extend, not sure.
Jude: On Sunday morning?
Ananya: Welcome to investment banking.
Jude: Keep forgetting how smart you are.
Ananya: Not that smart, but ok :)
Jude: So, I have an ad shoot tomorrow evening, then flying out for an away game on Monday after training. Don’t know when I will see you next.
A wave of sadness hit her, surprising her with its force. Her brain admonished her. She had only just met him and she needed to get a grip.
Ananya: It’s fine. Will figure something when you are back.
Jude: Hmm. Haven’t even kissed you yet and you are already messing with my head.
The sadness was replaced by a warm shiver as she stared at the screen and thought of a response. But couldn’t come up with any.
Jude: Did you just fall asleep on me?
Ananya: Stop being dramatic. I am right here.
Jude: Naa, wish you were HERE. Why’d you leave?
Ananya: Jude, you know why.
There was something about the way she said his name that made him want to hear it on loop, in various settings. God damnit this girl.
Jude: Yeah yeah. You thought we won’t be able to keep it in our pants.
She choked on water, and some spilled out on her blanket.
Ananya: How drunk are you?
Jude: Plentyyyy. Don even know what’s been shoved down my throat anymore.
Ananya: Figures :)
Jude: One last thing. Veryyyy important, like proper critical.
Ananya: Yes?
Jude: Need to see you in my jersey.
She smiled to herself before typing.
Ananya: Maybe win the Madrid derby next, score the winner, and then we’ll talk?
Jude: Tough, tough crowd. No mercy. No rest for the wicked. No respect for the Classico winner.
He was even more dramatic when he was drunk. She could almost hear the whining from his texts.
Ananya: Good night, Jude :)
Jude: Good night, dove. Try not to dream of me too much. Mwahhh!
She smiled at the screen and ended up kissing it, finally drifting off to sleep.
Next morning, she woke up to a message from him. Sent at 5 am. A drunk out of their wits pic with Jude, Cama and Fede. Along with a caption.
Jude: Your preciousss Cama.
Then, another message from a few seconds later.
Jude: Don’t stare too long.
She responded with a heart emoji to the picture and got started with her day.
Next few hours were hectic. She got into her work mode, shutting out all the madness that had transpired the day before.
Still, in between, her eyes drifted to her phone, to see if there were any new messages. Poor guy must have been sleeping. Or busy. He did say he had an ad shoot in the second half.
She somehow pulled through the day, and it was almost 5 pm when she finally finished work. Roma was also on the same project. The girls sighed about it being Monday morning just  next day, and decided to make the most of their remaining evening.
They ended up at the same cafe where Ananya had met him the other day. Was it just two days ago? God - so much had happened since then.
She ordered her favourite churros and took a picture. Then wondered whether she should send it to him. Would it look desperate? Like she was just seeking his attention? She couldn’t have that.
But it was a harmless pic. He would get the reference. Deciding to not overthink it, she ended up sending the photo with a caption.
Ananya: Back to ground zero!
No blue tick for over 15 mins.
Roma rolled her eyes at her then.
‘Can you stop the sappiness? Look around - lovely day. Lovely food. Let’s get some Sangria and let the world go to hell.’
Her roommate was the best. The two perfectly complimented each other. Plus, her American upbringing lent her this carefree attitude which Ananya really wished to imbibe.
‘Well, how can anyone say no to Sangria?’
The girls ordered a pitcher and ended up staying there for a few hours. Gossiping about their colleagues. Talking about life. Planning a vacation - Sevilla and Granada were top of their list. They looked up their calendars and found a long weekend that seemed ideal. The prospect itself making them cheerful.
By the time they got back, it was already 9 pm. There was still nothing from him. Not even a blue tick. She knew he was working. Yet, an ugly thought still creeped in - was this just a one night distraction? Did he already…lose interest after she dumped her constraints on him? All her doubts from last night came rushing back, leaving an unpleasant taste in her mouth.
She got into bed and tried watching a movie. Anything random to keep her thoughts at bay. While scrolling through her insta.
And there it was - a post from him a few mins ago about the ad campaign for a cologne. With a gorgeous, stunning model at his arm. Ofcourse.
The first photo looked like a part of the creative. The two were dressed immaculately in all black, she was leaning against his chest while his hand rested just above her butt. Seductiveness oozing from every inch of that frame.
The next was a BTS video - of him just being goofy on set while getting ready or trying to take a shot & not getting it right. The whole crew just getting charmed by his antics and boyish smiles. The model, in particular being extra supportive, extra attentive, giggling a bit too hard while holding onto his arm. Perfect hair, perfect figure and perfect skin. Ofcourse.
And just then, her insta reels recommendation showed Jude hugging multiple female fans who had lined up outside his shoot. They screamed his name, begging for hugs and he obliged. Warm, cozy, Jude hugs. Granted he only wrapped one arm around their shoulder and looked embarrassed when some of them reached up to kiss his cheek or pulled him closer, but still. This wasn’t something she needed to see right now.
Was this going to be her life from now on? Curled into bed, following his activities on social media, feeling inadequate. She didn’t deserve it. No girl deserved this.
She threw her phone aside and forced herself to focus on the movie. It was already 9:45, it would be best to get some sleep soon. Next week was going to be super hectic at work. Yes, work is what she needed do focus on. That’s why she was halfway across the world in this city. That was her goal in life right now. Not some ridiculously handsome random boy who made women go weak in their knees everywhere he went.
Around 10 pm, her phone buzzed. She had tucked herself into bed by then and almost decided to not look at it. But curiosity got the better of her.
Jude: Heyyy. Sorry my phone was not with me. Just getting back from a shoot.
She was equal parts relieved and irritated with that message. Ananya took a deep breath to calm herself down, and thought of a neutral response.
Ananya: Oh yeah, you had mentioned. How did it go?
Jude: Not too bad. Somehow got an ok on my take, that’s all I care about honestly. This acting gig ain’t no joke.
Ananya: Hmm.
Jude: Churros looked lovely. Hope you had fun.
Ananya: Yep, and yep.
Jude: Tired? Am I keeping you from something?
Ananya: Nope.
Jude: Why so wry then? What’s happened?
Oh, how she wanted to scream. What’s happened was exactly what she didn’t want to happen. What she swore she won’t put herself through with another boy. And this was amplified 1000 times here coz of who Jude was.
She started typing, then deleted, then typed again, unable to find the right words. This went on for two mins.
Jude: Can I call?
She sighed, exasperated. Her voice will immediately give away her irritated and confused state. But he knew something was up and typing like this was getting exhausting.
Ananya: Sure.
He called the next second. She braced herself, then answered.
‘Hey.’
She couldn’t have possibly made it sound drier even if she tried.
‘Hey. Wassup?’
‘Nothing, was just about to crash. Already in bed.’
‘Hmm, won’t keep you for long. Just wanna hear your voice.’
Damn him. To the moon and back. Damn his sweet agonising voice.
‘Why? Looks like you had enough company today.’
The words just tumbled out of her before she could check herself. Great going girl, way to make yourself look pathetic.
He paused for a few seconds.
‘What’s that supposed to mean?’
‘Nothing, forget it.’
‘Tell me you’ll sort this on your own and wake up all fine tomorrow morning, I’ll leave it be.’
She knew that wasn’t gonna happen. There was also no way for this to ever work if she wasn’t honest with him. Especially given his situation, things will just compound and then break very quickly. If they ever even get started, that is.
‘The photos bothered me a bit.’
She could sigh him breathe audibly at the other end - probably getting irritated at her insecurity. Or her immaturity. Maybe both.
‘What about them bothered you?’
Damn him for always making her spell everything out loud.
‘Just…her? Everything about that stunning woman. Looks like she fancied you.’
She could tell the wheels were churning in his mind at the other end.
‘I see. And you think I should be with someone like her. In fact, maybe I am going to her hotel room right now & talking to you on the way.’
Her silence was deafening. Jude gripped the edge of his seat to not curse out loud.
‘Ananya - didn’t we speak about this last night? Are we gonna go back full circle here?’
‘I am sorry. It’s just - I don’t know how I could ever compete with someone like that. Also, I don’t want to. I am a normal, regular girl Jude. Don’t need that in my life right now, or ever.’
‘YOU DON’T HAVE TO COMPETE. Can’t you see you have already won?’
Warmth and fuzziness ran over her, making her feel gooey inside. She had to clutch her tummy to arrest that feeling. To arrest the freefall.
‘You don’t know what’s gonna happen.’
Jude fought the urge to throw his phone against the opposite seat.
‘DO YOU? Does anyone? Girl, why don’t you believe me when I say I want you? Should I list down how much I have fantasised about you the last two days? How much I wanna…..’
‘Stop, please stop Jude. Please.’
Both were breathing heavily at this point, for different reasons.
‘Can I ask you for one thing, Ananya? Try trusting me till I give you an explicit reason not to. I am not such a dog, y’know. Yes, I have seen multiple girls together before but all parties KNEW it was casual. No commitments. This is not that. This is not a situationship. I would have told you to your face if that’s what I was looking for.’
She clutched her phone close to her chest. Him being who he was had made it all so hard. But he was right - he hadn’t done anything. Well, not yet.
‘I don’t know what to say, Jude. Like I know a lot of this is in my head but I don’t know how to make it go away.’
Heavy breathing continued at both ends. He broke the silence after a few moments.
‘How about this? Ask me what you really wanna ask me. All your unsaid questions, assumptions, perceptions about me that make you want to distance yourself. I won’t lie, promise. Be the smart girl I know you are and break it down like you will a work project.’
That was actually a fair suggestion. She could see what he was trying to do by appealing to her logical side. Not just a pretty face. Clearly not.
She chucked her inhibitions on how crude her questions might sound. He was right - without this they would keep coming back full circle.
‘So…when you said you were dating multiple women together..’
‘Seeing…not dating.’
He clarified before she could go on. It was an important distinction for him.
‘Yes, seeing them together, how long back was that?’
‘In Dortmund.’
‘Hmmm.’
She didn’t know how to feel about that. So she skipped to the next obvious question.
‘And…what about Madrid?’
‘Seen a couple, texted a couple, but not at the same time.’
‘Ok. When was the last time you were…you know..’
He understood the question before her finishing it.
‘Two weeks ago.’
‘I see.’
That wasn’t too long back. Was he still in touch with her? Did they meet up at his house? Something about the last thought made her feel icky.
‘And, these rendezvous, usually happen where?’
He chuckled at her choice of words. She really was something.
‘At a hotel close by. It’s a private, exclusive property.’
‘Ofcourse.’
He could tell there was a tinge of sarcasm in that last word but chose to let it go.
‘Are you in touch with her….the last one?’
‘Not since a week.’
She was feeling particularly bold at this point. Jude could anticipate her next question from a mile away.
‘Well, are you planning to?’
‘Nope. Not her. Not anyone else. I will only be with you and you will only be with me. Exclusively.’
He declared without hesitation. Her mouth open and closed at his last line, unsure of how to react. He waited patiently.
‘And what about the hordes of women who throw themselves at you daily? Who would do absolutely anything you want, and more?’
‘There is no easy fix here. You will have to find a way to believe that I will not stray, I will not indulge them.’
He could have backed his statement with evidence. Coz the model from today did slip him her number & he had politely wriggled out of that. But even he had the good sense to know this wasn't the time to bring that up.
She appreciated how he didn’t try to feed her any rosy crap, really following through on answering honestly. His tone & speed of response gave her enough assurance that he wasn’t being evasive.
She had run out of questions and said as much to him. Weirdly, in some inexplicable way, this was healing.
‘My turn then.’
This caught her off guard. But it was a fair ask, after the grilling she just put him through.
‘Sure, go ahead.’
‘Open your door in precisely 1 minute. I will ask in person.’
The phone dropped from her hand as she sat up, landing somewhere under the blanket. She reached for it blindly with one hand while switching on the lights with the other.
‘What do you mean in person? You don’t know where I live.’
‘Agnes knows.’
Ofcourse. His driver had dropped her home last night. Great, his presence was making her dumb now.
‘But….what if someone sees you? Roma is home too. The house is so messy. And I am, I am..One second, your shoot was on the other side of town and this is not in your way. What would you be doing here? Are you messing with me?’
She rambled faster that the speed of light. He ignored every other comment but picked up on the last one.
‘How did you know where my shoot was?’
Damn. Bloody rotten hell. She groaned audibly on the phone and he laughed out loud.
‘Dove is a stalkerrrrrr!’
He said teasingly, in a sing-song voice.
Before she could respond, she heard a car honk under her window. No, this couldn’t be. He wouldn’t. Would he?
‘Buzz me in and open the door. I am getting out of the car now.’
Ananya rushed frantically to the door, buzzing the building gate open. The idea of someone seeing him here filling her with nerves. Thankfully, she was on the first floor, half a staircase away from the building door.
Three seconds later, she saw him enter the building. Eight seconds later, she was grabbing his arm and pulling him into the apartment, shutting the door firmly behind them.
What was he thinking? What if someone had seen him outside? The media crap storm would have been unstoppable. How irresponsible was this? The gall of him to show up unannounced like that, anytime he wanted. Oh, she was mad. Raving mad.
Before she could turn around and give him a piece of her mind, strong arms wrapped around her from behind.
‘Sorry. Just wanted to see you once before I fly out tomorrow. Didn’t want to leave on this note.’
And just like that, he knocked the fight out of her chest. With two simple lines. Frankly she was a goner at sorry itself. The boy carried a magic wand of persuasion with him.
Her shoulders, which were tensed in anger, dropped as she leaned back into his chest. He kissed the back of her head, conveying his gratitude.
She could stay like this forever. In his warm, comforting hold. His scent, familiar by now (when did that happen?), seeping into her skin, taking over her senses. His big, calloused hands enveloping her smaller ones. Involuntarily, she sighed.
‘Thank you for being honest with me earlier. I feel better now.’
‘I am glad. My turn? Only have one question.’
‘Ofcourse.’
He turned her around in his arms and tilted her chin up to look straight into her eyes.
‘Would you let me kiss you right now?’
Time stood still. She was very numb yet very aware in that moment. The dim lighting in the living room from the night lamp, the faint noise from the street, the rhythmic tapping of feet coming from Roma’s locked room who was blaring music on her headphones. All registering in some peripheral part of her brain.
But what she was hypnotised by was his face, and his eyes, gazing intently at her, drawing her in. How was it ever possible to say no to that face? To those big brown eyes which looked even deeper, softer, more vulnerable than ever before?
She didn’t realise when he took off his jacket, nudged her towards the dining table a short distance away, put his hands on the sides of her waist, lifted her slightly to place her on the table. But when her legs were being parted gently so he could stand in front of her, their torsos touching, her trance broke. The heat radiating from his body was palpable.
Jude’s face was inches away, almost eye level.  A pleasing, handsome, perfectly symmetrical face. The dim lighting creating a halo around him. Ananya tilted her head to look at Roma’s room and if it was still locked. But he put two fingers on her cheek to turn her back to him.
‘Been waiting for this since I saw you.’
Jude lifted her arms & wrapped them around his neck, while his hands stroked her back. The flimsy fabric of her tank top not providing any barrier; it was almost like he was stroking her skin. Her legs, spread wide apart to fit him in, dangled aimlessly on the edge of the table.
How was he expecting a coherent verbal response from her in this situation?
She slowly slid one of her hands from his long muscly neck to his hair, fingers gliding through the thick, firm, soft curls. Her eyes searching his, telling him this is the best she could do right now.
That was all the signal he needed. Her grip in his hair tightened as he angled his head to cover her lips with his. Plump, pillowy lips caressing hers. Making her tightly shut her eyes and whimper out. Which broke something in him.
He dove in again with more urgency, parting her lips this time, getting them to move in sync with his. She gladly obliged, submitting to his rhythm while her heart hammered against her chest. She wondered if he could hear it too. But he was too occupied with tasting her mouth. All her little sounds & shudders giving him a head rush. His hot breath fanning her cheeks.
When her whimpers went up an octave, he gave her a little breather, connecting their foreheads as they breathed in the same air. Her hands had fallen to the wide expanse of his shoulders, clutching at them to anchor herself.
He kissed her forehead, the top of her eyes, and placed two delicate pecks on each cheek. His light stubble grazing her skin. She tilted her head involuntarily along with his movements, giving him ready access, like a puppy would to someone petting it.
‘Ananya, lemme see you.’
The way he said her name, the fondness in his voice, it was like a silent command she couldn’t deny. Her hands gripped his shoulders tighter as she opened her eyes.
He smiled affectionately, and it took her breath away. All the walls she had built around herself, all the rules, all the notions of just focusing on her work for now, this boy had bulldozed his way through all that with just his breathtaking smile.
Some part of her still conscious brain tried to chide her that she was no different than any of the other girls fawning over him. All it took was him showering her with his undivided attention and she was putty in his hands. But her brain couldn’t get a word in edgewise, her other senses had taken over.
Jude reached for her hands, unclasped them from his shoulders, somehow sensing the tension in them. What he did next made her lightheaded. He moved his lips to her palms, placing soft, lingering kisses on both. And then, he moved her hands to his face, as if asking her to hold him. Somehow, this felt even more intimate than their kiss.
His unending torso was all hard muscle, pressed into hers, but his face was soft. Rugged yet soft. Her hands couldn’t even fully cover his cheeks, she noted absentmindedly. So she used the pads of her thumbs to stroke the rest of his gorgeous face.
Suddenly, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer into him. She looked up in surprise, finding darker, hooded eyes.
‘The next time you wanna run away from me, remember this feeling.’
Not only had his eyes changed colour but his voice had turned hoarse too. Insistent lips crashed into hers, prying them open, his tongue penetrating her mouth. She gasped at the invasion. One of her hands fell from his face  & settled behind her on the table, trying to find balance, as the force of his kiss made her lean backwards, with him looming over her.
His spare hand gripped her bare thigh to help steady her. She just realised how her tiny sleeping shorts had completely inched up her legs, leaving them almost fully bare. His hand was firm and his fingers dug into her skin, making her head spin.
She lost her balance, despite his support, falling further backwards and knocking down a container behind her on the table. He broke the kiss & stretched his arm to reach for the container, finding it just before it was about to crash on the floor. While she just panted in his hold.
‘Jude…I..’
‘Shhhhh, I got you.’
They fell into a warm, comforting embrace. Arms settling around each others’ backs. Her face resting in the crook of his neck as he quietly stroked her hair.
‘Did it ever occur to you that it’s hard for me to trust as well?’
That made her grudgingly break the hug and look up at him with confused eyes, while their arms remained locked around each other.
‘It’s tough to figure if someone really likes me for me or it’s the lifestyle, fame, money and exposure that they are after. If a private encounter would remain private or the details would be splashed over some social media later. If some photoshopped images or invented stories be circulated as sworn truth. I have struggled to judge, so honestly I stopped trying. Keeping it just about sex was simpler. Uncomplicated. Convenient. No strings attached.’
No, it hadn’t occurred to her at all. Not till he put it like that. On any other day, she would have been irked at him trying to conveniently defend his conscious indulgences. But it felt more like an admission than justification.
She stroked his neck and shoulders as he continued being vulnerable with her.
‘You see, the normal and regular you think to be such a distancing factor, is in fact the opposite. A huge chunk of my life will always be public, I get that. I signed up for that. But this bit, I wanna protect. I’d love to come home to someone normal.’
Ananya stroked his face with all the tenderness she could muster. Trying to show that she understands. From the way he relaxed into her, she figured he got her message.
Jude knew he had to be careful with her. Seeing her skimpy nightclothes hugging her body tonight had already disrupted his brain chemistry. He couldn’t shake the thought of how easy it would be to just push her on her back then & there. To rid her of the flimsy fabric barely covering her form l, with one determined tug.
That’s why he knew he had to leave soon, while he was still thinking with his head. She wasn’t ready, not yet.
‘That your room?’
He tilted his head towards the open door at the end of the corridor.
‘Uh-huh.’
‘Want me to carry you in and tuck you into bed? I will leave after a goodnight kiss.’
She met his gaze with a twinkle in her eye, cocking her head sideways, biting her lip slowly. His eyes followed every little movement.
‘Think you can handle being in my bedroom just to tuck me in?’
Boy, he didn’t see that coming. Didn’t know she had it in her. It immediately made him even more interested. The open challenge in her eyes, the suggestive tone, and that jutting out bottom lip. That needed to be responded to.
He leaned in and bit down at the same spot on her lower lip, making it sting a bit, then flicking it with his tongue. His hand gripped her bare thigh again, knocking the sass out of her.
‘Lippy. So lippy. I love it.’
He continued rubbing circles on her thigh with his thumb till he drew a moan out of her, despite her biting her cheek to keep it in.
‘Your pretty brain may not approve of me yet, but your body is definitely #TeamJude.’
She gasped, and he chose that moment to lean in for a deep goodnight kiss. Making it wet & sloppy, on purpose, so much so that she had to wipe her mouth with the back of her hand when he was done with her.
‘Sleep tight, dove. Talk to ya tomorrow. And..’
He leaned in to whisper in her ear, enunciating each word.
‘Will think about you tonight. Maybe in the car as well.’
With one last attempted wink, he bid her goodbye and walked out. While she was still perched up on the table, her body tingling everywhere he had touched her, her lips tasting of him, and her mind reeling from what had just happened.
………………………
There it is. Was delayed because, well, the pictures threw me off :)
As always, feedback / comments are always welcome. Hope you are enjoying their journey so far!

A lil snippet of this fanfic where Yevgeny meets Ian for the first time as a teenager, after his friend is injured and Ian is the paramedic on duty. (Mickey moved states to be close to Yev & Svet right after getting out of prison and hasn’t seen Ian in 16 years).
————————
The red head’s eyes were darting around the hospital reception, like he was looking for something he wasn’t sure he wanted to find. Yevgeny eyed him suspiciously.
“What you still doing here, anyway? Didn’t think you guys stuck around after bringing people to the hospital.”
The paramedic’s - Ian, Yevgeny reminded himself - eyes widened. “Uh, yeah, I uh… I had some paperwork to fill out from another case,” he answered. Yevgeny nodded and turned away, planning to go see if he could get a snack from the vending machine. Before he could leave, though, Ian spoke again.
“Your friend okay?”
Yevgeny nodded. “Yeah. You were right. Broken ankle. He’ll be out for the rest of the school year but he should be able to play next year when the season starts up again.”
“Good. That’s good.”
At the thought of the next soccer season, Yevgeny’s stomach dropped. The school could easily kick them off the team for all this.
Ian’s voice interrupted his thoughts.
“Is uh… is your dad on his way? Is he coming to pick you up?” Something about the guy seemed nervous, but Yevgeny didn’t dwell on that for too long as thoughts of having to tell his parents he was kicked off the team filled his head. Yev shuddered at the thought. God, his parents were going to be so pissed.
“Shit. Yeah, he’s on his way. Should be here any minute.” Yevgeny’s eyes anxiously flickered towards the hospital doors, waiting for his dad’s surely explosive arrival.
His dad was a pretty fair parent, his mom being the stricter one. His dad scared other people, Yev knew that. But he didn’t scare Yevgeny. Underneath the tough exterior and tattoos, he was a nice dude who cared about his family more than anything.
But, Yevgeny knew he’d fucked up badly tonight. It would probably go on his permanent record, and if there was one thing his mom always enforced, it was the importance of not fucking up his future. Soccer was his chance at a college scholarship.
Plus, he had promised his dad he wouldn’t go along with any of Jackson’s stupid plans, but he did. And his dad fucking hated lying. Yevgeny never really lied to his dad. Honestly. He told his dad when he had his first kiss, his first beer. Even though all of his friends lied to their parents and said they were chilling at a friend’s house when they were going to parties, Yevgeny always actually told his dad the truth. Mickey had always told Yevgeny that he could tell him anything, call him at anytime if something happened, and he’d be there for him.
But Yevgeny hadn’t told him they were planning to sneak out of the hotel this time. So yeah, between lying and fighting with the other team to the point his friend landed in hospital, Yevgeny knew he was going to be in some deep shit once his dad arrived.
“You okay?” Yevgeny looked back at Ian. His dread must be pretty apparent on his face. His mom always said he was like his dad in that way, no fucking poker face. That and they pretty much had the same face.
“Yeah, I’m good. I’m just, ah, realizing I’m probably gonna be grounded for the whole summer.”
Ian chuckled, but there was something dark behind his eyes. “Well, could be worse.”
And yeah, Yev knew that was true. His mom and dad never went into too much detail about their childhoods, but Yev gathered enough information about their pasts to know that the both of his parents got punishments a lot worse than a few months with no social life. Still, it was the summer before senior year, and he was bummed he was going to miss out on it because he was stupid enough to listen to fucking Jackson.
“You hungry? Have you eaten?” Ian pulled Yevgeny out of his thoughts.
“Was just gonna get something from the vending machine,” he answered.
Ian shook his head. “Wait here. The staff cafeteria is 24 hours. They know me there. I’ll go grab you something to keep you going until -“ Ian faltered. “Until, uh, your dad gets here.”
Yevgeny was quick to refuse. “No, no, that’s fine man, you don’t need to do that.” But Ian wasn’t having it.
“No, it’s fine. It’s late and you should eat.” He paused before he said, “besides, you’re 17. You shouldn’t be here alone. I’ll uh…” He turned and looked at Yevgeny, and Yev realized it was the first time since the conversation started that the guy was actually looking him in the eye. Ian’s face held the same haunted look he was wearing in the ambulance. “I’ll come back and wait with you until your dad gets here.”
Yevgeny went to protest because he’s not a fucking kid, damnit. But the red head was already half way down the hallway.
Yevgeny watched as the guy walked away. He didn’t really understand why the dude was doing all this for him, why he seemed so concerned about him. Surely he saw this sort of stuff all the time in his line of work. He especially didn’t understand why Ian looked at him like he’d seen a fucking ghost.
Yevgeny didn’t have too much time to dwell on it, though, because pretty soon he heard the familiar voice of his father come through the doors of the hospital.
“YEVGENY MILKOVICH!”

Relax (NSFW)
Kayson x Reader
Kayson comes home from his shift. You are still awake and decide to tire him out properly.
You had been sitting at your desk for hours, buried in centuries-old literature about mythical creatures. They seemed connected, tied together by a string you had only started seeing now when you looked more closely into their history.
It fascinated you, and you lost track of time, descending into a rabbit hole so deep but fundamentally interesting that it was only Kayson shutting the door quietly as he came home from his shift, that snapped you out of it again.
Glancing at the clock, you silently cursed your absentmindedness. It was one in the morning already.
“Hey,” Kayson whispered, poking his head into the room. He frowned as he saw you still sitting at your desk. “What are you still doing up?”
“I got a bit distracted with work,” you said, getting up to greet him properly. He collapsed into your embrace, burying his face in your neck and drawing his arms tightly around you. You trailed your hands across his back, smiling softly as you felt his tight muscles relax. “Tough shift?”
“You have no idea,” he mumbled, nuzzling into your neck. Your caresses were making him melt, and he could not help the deep sigh of relief escaping him as he finally unwound for the night. “It’s always nice to come home to you still awake,” he said, kissing your neck. “I would like you to get your eight hours, of course, but being in your arms after a long day is my favorite thing.”
You chuckled, slowly moving both of you towards the bed. “I love you, too,” you said, running your hand through his hair. “Have you eaten?”
Kayson raised his head, making you see the tired smile stretching across his face. “Yeah,” he said, leaning in to kiss you. “Don’t worry, perfect.” His arms tightened around you, holding you close as he deepened the kiss.
You raised your hands to cup his cheeks, drawing your arms around him a moment later as you felt yourself fall. You hit the bed with a startled yelp. Kayson’s arms were still wrapped around you, and you could feel his deep chuckle reverberating in his chest.
“I don’t think you’re tired enough yet,” you said, hiding the amused smile tugging at your lips at his playfulness.
“Maybe not,” he replied, loosening his grip on you to draw himself up on his elbows. He smirked before giving you a gentle push to lay on your back and straddling your lap in a swift movement.
You looked up at him, eyes wide in surprise.
He leaned forward, bracing himself against the mattress until his face was inches from yours. “I think I know what would tire me out, though,” he said, lowering his head to place open-mouthed kisses against your neck. “If you would be amenable to it, that is,” he whispered, his hot breath fanning over your exposed skin. You shivered.
Your hands settled on his hips instinctively, keeping him steady as he continued peppering your neck with kisses. The white dress shirt he wore for work had ridden up a little. You moved your hands, tracing them over the skin of his hips and lower back.
Kayson gasped, nearly toppling over. “Why are your hands so cold?” he hissed, shuddering as you traced his spine with your cold fingers. “Not fair, perfect.”
You smirked at the little pout he gave you. “You know what is not fair,” you said, waiting for him to raise an eyebrow before taking hold of his waist and flipping him over.
His breath hitched. You could make out his face slowly turning red in a blush. It made your heart melt. Kayson was so cute under you. The sentiment must have shone on your face because his blush deepened. “Like what you see?” he asked teasingly, but you caught on to the hint of insecurity in his voice.
“You’re stunning,” you said truthfully, mirroring his position from earlier and leaning forward until your noses were nearly touching. You know he received compliments daily for his looks — and he was beautiful, but you needed him to know that he was more than that.
He was more than his physique, more than the objectifying looks he drew, more than the envious glances thrown his way — he was more than the ‘pretty boy’ who got hired only for his looks, and who was reminded of that fact every single day when his colleagues disregarded his opinions and ideas solely on the belief that he was the eye candy of the restaurant with nothing in his brain.
“You work so hard,” you said. He averted his gaze at your suddenly genuine tone, biting his lip self-consciously. You tilted his head up as he refused to meet your eyes, needing him to look at you and believe what you were telling him. “You work tirelessly,” you repeated.
He scoffed, shifting a little. “As if you don’t,” he said, “and you do more than me.”
“We do completely different things,” you said with a frown, “and this isn't about me. You work hard, and you deserve to rest when you come home. Let me take care of you.”
If Kayson had a retort ready on his lips, it died when you buried your hand in his hair, playing with the dyed strands and making him sink further into the mattress. It was easy now that you knew each other so intimately. You could make him unwind in a heartbeat with a few touches.
“Fine,” he murmured, his eyes drifting shut as he leaned into your touch. One of his hands trailed over your side, before settling against the back of your head.
You leaned down, following his wordless request for a kiss. You could feel him smile against your lips, and as you drew back, you found him looking at you with a content sparkle in his eyes.
“I love you, did I tell you that?” he said, taking the hand soothingly massaging circles into his scalp and bringing it to his lips instead. “Because I do, you know. I love you so much, sometimes it scares me.”
Your gaze softened. “I love you, too,” you said, brushing your fingertips over the lines of his face. You trailed them over his cheekbones, gliding over the dark circles under his eyes — a reminder that you truly shouldn’t keep him up too long tonight — over the side of his nose and the corner of his mouth until you reached his lips. You hesitated, carefully using your forefinger to tug on his bottom lip.
“You’re so pretty,” you said, watching him break into a smile.
“Thanks, love,” he said, holding onto your wrist and pressing a kiss against the palm of your hand. “Somehow it feels better coming from you.” Kayson groaned, your hips grinding against him as you adjusted your position on his lap. He looked up at you, his pupils blown wide.
“Relax,” you said, shifting on his lap to make him moan again. “I said I would take care of you, and I will.” You could feel the bulge in his pants growing beneath you.
Kayson swallowed, a little embarrassed at how effortlessly you got him hard like this. He could not help himself, laying on his back for you made his mind short-circuit. “Don’t tease me too much,” he said, feeling your hands roam across his chest and undoing the buttons of his shirt one by one.
You only chuckled in reply, leaning back a little to admire his bare chest. “I think that’s for me to decide.” Your hands trailed lower to his belt. “May I?”
“Ye— Yes,” he stuttered breathily, fighting the urge to rock his hips as you brushed over his bulge. You gave him a smirk, and Kayson had half a mind to plead with you not to torture him like this when you traced the outline of his cock with your finger and a low whine escaped him instead.
“I can feel you twitching,” you said, relishing the dark shade of red on his face. You moved off his lap, waiting for his eager nod before freeing his cock. He was painfully hard already, a bit of precum gathered on the tip as you took him in your hand.
He arched his back, his eyebrows drawn together in a blissful expression as you began stroking him. “Ah— ah— mhm—” he moaned, biting his lip to keep quiet and turning his head away from you.
“Let me hear you,” you said, twisting your wrist in a way that made him gasp. “I want to see the pretty looks on your face when I work you like this, Kay.”
“Ah— don’t say that,” he panted, squeezing his eyes shut and bringing his fist to his mouth to muffle the beautiful sounds you pulled from him.
You were having none of that, gripping his wrist with your free hand and pinning it above his head. Kayson looked at you with wide eyes, and you felt him twitch in your hand. “Let me hear you,” you said again, smiling at the low moan spilling from him.
“I— I—” he stammered, searching your gaze for something, “wait, I— wait!”
You stopped, letting go of his wrist and leaning back to give him space. “What’s wrong?” you asked in concern, fighting the urge to reach out to comfort him. “Are you alright? What--?”
“I— I was close,” he panted, still a little dazed, “but you haven’t— I want to make you feel good, too.”
“Don’t worry about me for once, alright?” you said, giving him a reassuring smile. “Let me take care of things. I’m good, don’t worry. Do you want to continue?”
Kayson thought for a moment. “Are you sure?” he asked, placing a hand on your waist, slipping his fingers under your shirt to caress your skin. “I’m never too tired for you, perfect.”
You kissed him again, overwhelmed with love for the person who never failed to make you feel appreciated. “I promise,” you said, closing your eyes and leaning your forehead against his. “Do you want me to help you finish?”
“Please,” he said breathlessly, rolling his hips. Your hand was on him in an instant, giving him the friction he so craved. “Yes, yes— go on— go— mhm—” he moaned, throwing his head back.
You watched him writhe with hungry eyes, loving what you could do to him, loving that he trusted you enough to be this vulnerable around you. A thin layer of sweat coated his forehead, and Kayson’s lips had turned a shade of deep red. His blush had traveled to his chest.
“You’re so good,” he panted, fisting the sheets at his sides while curling his toes. He was close now. You continued working him, guiding him steadily towards his high. “You— ah— ah— gonna— mhm— please. Please!”
His hand shot out. You took it immediately, interlocking your fingers and raising it to your lips. Kayson squeezed your hand tightly, coming with a cry. You worked him through it, gradually slowing down as you felt him shudder under your touch.
“How was that?” you asked, laying down next to him to check in before washing up.
Kayson was panting heavily, still clutching your hand. You saw his eyelids beginning to drop.
“Kay?” you asked, gently nudging his shoulder.
His eyes fluttered open again. “Sorry,” he breathed, turning to face you. “‘M fine, just suddenly tired.”
You gave him a peck, watching the corners of his mouth turn upwards as he blinked his eyes open again. “Sleep, it’s alright,” you said, pressing another kiss against his forehead. “I’ll clean us up, and you close your eyes and rest, yeah?”
He hummed, already half asleep. It did not take much to get him to relax, in the end.

A thing for Aquaman (Kelley O'hara x reader)
This was a request, but I had a tough time writing it and don’t know if I achieved your expectations. It’s a short one.
Kelley pov
“Hello ladies! My name is Shean and I’ll be one of the instructors that will be guiding you all today.” We were at the Marine Life Rescue center in Florida. The USWNT is combining forces with the Program to help raise visibility to their mission, so we are making a visit and recording some media stuff. A few of us visited the Clearwater aquarium, some went to the beach to see a turtle and a dolphin release. Me, Lindsey, Alex, Sofia, Trinity and Sonnett are in the group that is going scuba diving.
“So, a quick story before our leader gets here. The Marine Life Rescue Project was created to support the mission and funding to Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute. We believe in preserving our environment while inspiring the human spirit through leadership in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine life. By research, conservation and environmental education of the community. Alone, we can’t do much, so that’s why your visit here is so important for us…” The boy kept talking and my attention quickly was out of it. I poked Alex and asked. “This guy sounds like he is repeating this line for the hundredth time and has zero animation to be here” Alex laughed but kept looking at the boy, Lindsey that was near heard me and answered. “He is cute though. But I don’t know if I’m too excited to enter the water. I think I will rather stay in the boat talking to him.” Trinity, who was also listening to us, spoke. “What? We are scuba diving for free. Why would you want to stay in the boat?” “What if there are sharks in the water?” Lindsey whispered loudly. “That’s the fun part.” Trinity has a smirk on her face. “I don’t think there will be sharks in there. Right?” I tried to calm Linds, but I was not too sure of myself.”  “Don’t worry, the sharks don’t like humans that much. They usually don’t show up. Usually.” A woman whispered behind us, making the girls who were close jump a little as we haven’t seen her before. “Usually?” She just shrugged. “Who are you?” I was the one making the question now. “I’m…”
“Y/n! You made it. Come here.” The woman winked at us, stood and went up front. “Girls, this is Y/n Y/l/n. She is going to be the lead instructor that will be diving with some of you. Any questions?” Lindsey raised her hand and asked. “Can I stay in the boat?” We all laughed and Y/n answered. “Of course you can, no one will be forced to be down there. But I must warn you that you will be missing a lot.” “Thanks. But I rather stay here than risk being eaten by a shark.” “First, sharks don’t attack like that. That is a huge myth created mostly due to Spielberg's movies. There is a bigger chance of you dying in a plane crash than being eaten by a shark.” Y/n corrected Lindsey, who still didn’t look convinced. “I think I'll take my chances with the plane.” Y/n laughed but before she could say anything the other instructor called her informing that everything was ready on the boat. “We are going. And second…” She interrupted herself by taking off her hoodie, and Oh, dear! She has muscles. God, she is hot. “Second, I know this beach like the palm of my hand. I know these animals and you’ll be safe with me and my team. Don’t worry. Let’s go girls?” With that she walked toward the boat leaving us behind.
We watched her going and I broke the silence “Have anyone else seen those muscles?” “Yeah. You know what Linds, you can stay in the boat. I will dive with her.” Sonnett grabbed her backpack and started her walk to the boat. “Wait. I think I changed my mind. With those arms, I think I will be safe.” Lindsey says following Sonnett. “You know Kells, if you want a chance to stay near those arms you’ll have to run. Sonnett and Linds are thirsty.” Alex laughed at me and we all ran to the boat.
An instructor started the drive and we all sat in the boat waiting for the boat to stop at the diving spot. “So Y/n, is being this muscular and hot a requirement to being a scuba diving instructor?” She laughed and answered. “If it was Shean over here would be with his days counted.” “Hey! I work out.” “I’m just kidding man. But answering your question, it’s not. But it helps to keep the girls' attention at you when you’re repeating the program instructions.” She winked at me. “I noticed, but don’t know if I paid too much attention to what you were saying, was occupied with something else. Too distracted. I would love to learn more about it.” “Well, unfortunately that isn’t part of the tour but I’m always open to show what those muscles can do some other time.” “I think I know how those muscles work in the gym.” “I imagine, but I wasn’t talking about the gym.” My eyes widened and I stayed speechless. She stood up and started grabbing the equipment.
“Well, as we already pass through instruction on the beach, I won’t repeat them. The only thing I’m reinforcing is to make sure to be close by. This water is normally safe and calm, and you will have the chance to watch the most different species of animals and corals, but your safety is the most important thing here and any caution is too much. Any question?” This time it was Trinity who raised her hand. “How close can we stay to you?” “Can I hold your arms?” Sofia asked. Y/n only laughed and put her backpack on. “Calm down girls, there is enough of me for everyone. Now, who is ready to dive?”
Next thing I know Y/n was helping the girls with their equipment and Alex poked me. “Really Kell? You’re almost drooling over her.” “Can you blame me? Look at those muscles.” “She is more than just that, you know?” “I know, but how can I not want that? She is smart, strong, funny, and hot. She is friends with the fishes, sharks, and almost the whole marine life. She is basically the female Aquaman.” “Kids, why did I have to stay in the kids group?” She walked away and Y/n came near me to help me with the equipment.
“Everything is good?” Y/n asked. “Yep.” “Great. Let's finish our tour then and wish for it to end with a success.” She said finishing tightening the strap. “Success? I thought you said we didn’t have to worry about it.” She looked at me. “You don’t. Not on my part anyway.” I looked at her confused. “What do you mean?” “You know the story, the hero saves the ladies from the sharks and gets the girl in the end.” “Who says you were the hero?” “We are in a small boat Kelley.” A smirk appeared on her face and she went near the edge of the boat. “But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you have a thing for Aquaman.” She winked at me and jumped in the water. Oh God, I have a thing for the female Aquaman.

I just do not understand the insistence that animals must be sentient.
Because if they were, then why are the animals that kill other animals not labeled as murderers?
Hell, why aren't cats seen as malicious, mini, jigsaw killers considering how they play with their food. Why aren't ewes looked upon with disgust for often trampling orphaned lambs that a farmer tries to get them to adopt? Why aren't wolves seen as bullies for hunting in packs to kill prey? Why aren't dolphins more acknowledged for being effing rapists?
If you believe that animals are capable of reasoning, then that automatically makes all animals that eat meat into exactly what humans that eat meat are, thus they should be looked upon with every bit as much scorn as certain vegans look upon regular ass people. And it'd also mean that any animal that hunts is a murderer.
Hell, many animals are cannibals! In fact, plenty even eat the young of other animals or even their own young if they're so much as lacking in B12!
Literally! Mother hamsters are known to eat her own babies if she's put on an all-corn diet! They don't even have to be dying because of it!
You can't claim that animals are all sentient & then not hold them responsible for their actions! That's hypocritical! Because if these animals are sentient, then they are making the active decision to commit these actions & should be held acountable for them! Period!
Seriously, unless an animal is specifically an obligate herbivore, they will likely still eat meat given the chance!
And, whether you like it or not, animals are only as vegan as their options. As soon as times get tough for a deer, it's gonna be eyeing up any little Tweeties or Thumpers they come across. Same with horses, sheep, ect.
In fact, if animals are as deserving of life & respect as us, then doesn't that make having pets the same as slavery? And how do cat owners even justify feeding their pets? At least those that force their cats into a vegan lifestyle are being consistent even though they're abusing the poor things. Those cats aren't gonna live to be 10 years old on a diet like that & they'll be miserable the whole time.
Like, how do people twist their brains into so many directions just to justify their lifestyles??
Seriously, humans are so freaking unique within the animal kingdom. We are probably the only creatures who would do all this nonsense for the sake of critters that honestly don't give an eff.
Like, dude, whatever. You don't wanna eat meat, then don't. No skin off my brow. More brisket for me! But don't moralize your choice & don't demonize those who love a delicious steak.
Here's what some don't seem to understand; those animals are gonna die anyway, whether it's by the hand of man, a predator animal, sickness, or old age. Their days are numbered no matter what. And, quite frequently, they'll still get eaten. So, in the end, what's the difference if a sheep is eaten by a human or a buzzard or a coyote?
You didn't save that sheep's life. You only postponed the inevitable. Because if you're not the one who eats it, then someone or something else will. You cannot stop it.
And it's likely going to hurt regardless, so saying shit like "anything to reduce at least a little bit of the pain in the world" is just pure naiveté. You haven't reduced the pain in the world even a little. And in fact, considering how a lot of animals don't even care if their food is all-the-way dead as they're eating them, you could even say that that animal might end up experiencing even more pain than if they'd been killed by a human.
And that isn't even taking into account sickness or accidents! How do you know that that animal's last moments won't be spent in complete misery or abject fear??
Because one of the things about humans is that, for the most part, we prefer our food dead-dead before we eat it. And we intentionally go out of our ways to make death as painless a transition as possible, even for the animals we're gonna eat.
If we're gonna keep it 100, ya'll. Humans can be some of the gentlest, most merciful killers on earth.
Hell, we have laws against animal cruelty!
And, the thing is, animals... don't. Period. In fact, most don't make it to old age.
So, in the end, your efforts were meaningless.

Fic Idea Adoption!
i have way too many ideas for fics and i know i won't ever get around to writing them all so i'm putting some ideas up for adoption!! i may or may not write these eventually, but they're too good of ideas to leave sitting in my notes app forever, so i'm releasing them to the void! anyone and everyone is welcome to use them, and feel free to be as ambiguous with the prompts as you want! no particular order but nsfw ideas are at the bottom for anyone who wants to avoid them!
(if you do use any of these, i would love to read the fic!! you definitely do not have to but please feel free to send me anything you write off this list!!)
-john takes rodney to earths moon
-john and rodney find the ancient equivalent of speed. they do Everything
-au where ronon gets earth to repeal dadt bc john tells him it's why he can't be with rodney and ronon goes I Must Fix This (he enlists teyla and lorne and maybe cadman)
-rodney asks ronon to go with john to earth (outcast coda)
-rodney goes on bill nye saves the world after stargate declassification
-evans biggest fear is having to shoot john (and maybe getting a promotion bc of it?) and john finds out
-rodney’s ‘torture too hideous and intimate to recount’ is him being tortured, just for them to realize that torturing his team is a better way to break him
-teyla living out ‘the chosen one’ trope
-what happens to sora after the eye
-au where meredith(female!rodney) comes to atlantis instead of rod and not only is rodney horribly disturbed, he’s furious (and strangely confused) as to why everyone apparently likes him more as a woman
-todd is weirdly obsessed with this strange human he meets, and is determined to get closer to him
-the team is most excited about catching up with todd when they get the confirmation atlantis is going back to pegasus
-everyone complains about rodney’s moods bc no one can complain about the infinitely worse in every way sheppard bad moods, that make everyone on the base wish they were on a hive ship being eaten by two wraith at once
-au where ronon ends up on athos at the same time the wraith come and he sneaks through the gate with the intention of just sneaking away on the next planet but whoops it’s atlantis (ronon pov)
-rodney keeps a memorial for every single scientist lost in his lab and radek shows it to new scientists who start complaining about rodney not caring and risking their lives
-reaper au where’s he’s fed the fuck up with these two stupid men who never actually die when they’re supposed to and it’s more annoying than anything now bc he still needs to show up
-au carson comes to atlantis and is HORRIFIED by becketts retrovirus research and the hoffan drug bc “does the hippocratic oath mean NOTHING here???”
-au where rodney can’t admit to himself what john means to him, until something happens that brings all the alternate rodney’s that have lost their johns to atlantis, and they all fall apart when they see john alive, and john and rodney have to have a Conversation (mcshep? maybe ambiguous? idk yet)
-rodney sees john as three separate entities: the Colonel, who is Professional Important Official Man; sheppard, who is his friend/team lead that he hangs out with and goes on missions with; and john, who he’s always seeming to have very intimate moments with that make him question a lot of how he feels
-early days in the city, elizabeth is sick of the marines shitting on the scientists for not being tough and the scientists for shitting on the marines for not being smart so she makes them try to solve a fake crisis from the other side and everyone is like aww shit this is harder than it looks
-that thing where tough men pretend they don’t care much about someone but then the person gets hurt and Tough Guy go a little feral and then holds them close and whisper pet names (sweetheart, baby, darling, etc) but it’s john and/or ronon after rodney gets injured
-the more important something is to john, the harder it is for him to talk about it, and rodney starts to realize how hard it is for john to talk about what rodney means to him
-a bunch of au sheppards get brought to atlantis and one on them is terrified of flying
-rodney has always said biology was beneath him, but then ford almost died, and was… different, from the wraith. and rodney knew he had to find a way to help ford, maybe find a way to fix his mental problems while keeping the physical benefits. rodney and carson find a way to save ford and sheppard is so thankful he kisses them both
nsfw ideas:
-ronon suggests some planets for trading when they get low on supplies that have an interesting trade system. it seems too good to be true and they wonder why telya hasn't taken them until they find out that they trade goods for sex
-au where john is hired as a spy for atlantis and he seduces people in pegasus to get intel for the city
-sometimes rodney just grabs john (by the hair, throat, back of the neck, chin, etc) and asks who he belongs to and john instantly melts
-rodney decides to be a tease on a mission and teyla and ronon think mckay is just really pissing sheppard off when he pulls mckay away for “privacy” but really he’s just super horny and wants to fuck (or, teyla and ronon don’t realize that their fighting is foreplay)
