Carnival
Mary Earps x Child!Reader
Summary: Mary takes you to the carnival
Lockdown was both the bane of Mary's existence and the best thing in the world.
The worst thing because it meant confusion and fear and no football for a while. The best thing because it brought her you.
She fostered at first before moving to adoption when she found that she couldn't be parted from you.
With the lockdowns tentatively over now, things had started opening up again.
Like the carnival.
"They're rigged," You tell her.
You're still little but you speak well for your age, well advanced when compared to any of your peers.
"Rigged?" Mary laughs," Where've you heard that word?"
"I read it," You say," In a book."
"Oh. I forgot I was taking a genius out."
You make a little noise of acknowledgement before turning back to the carnival game.
It's most definitely rigged.
All of them are.
This one is one of those basketball toss games where you know the ring is only just wide enough for the ball to get through. If the throw isn't perfect then it'll hit the rim and bounce away.
Mary is looking at it with concentration though and you snag her belt loops, tugging lightly.
You hadn't meant to stop in the first place but you'd caught sight of one of the prizes.
One shot in got you a keychain.
Two shots got you a little inflated ball.
Three in meant the prize was a small toy.
Four was a medium sized toy.
Five was a big toy.
The big toys are displayed at the very top of the game. A lot of them a bears or big puppies but a handful of them are birds. They're in lots of different colours.
Yellow seems to be the most prominent colour but then it's pink. The one that caught your eye is blue though.
You like the look of it a lot but you also know the odds of winning it are slim to none.
Five perfect shots in a row is very difficult especially when the backing board behind the hoop is angled at a way that means if the ball hits it, it won't go into the hoop in the slightest.
"Mary," You say, tugging," Let's go."
Mary doesn't move though. "You want the bird?"
"Yes."
"Then let's try."
"No."
"You don't even want to try?"
You shake your head, scuffing your foot into the dirt. "It's not worth it, Mary."
"Would it make you happy though?"
"Yes."
"Then let's try."
"But-"
"Come on, birdie," Mary says," We'll try a few rounds and if we get it, we get it but if not that's fine too."
It costs five pounds for five balls and Mary fails abysmally for her first round.
It stokes something in her though, especially when your eyes dart away from the toy with every missed shot.
You've had a rough go of it, Mary thinks as she pays for another few rounds. Before her, you'd had a failed adoption. The couple had wanted you but then the wife had gotten pregnant and they realised what they actually wanted was a biological child.
It had fallen through and you'd bounced for a few days before being fostered by Mary.
She'd worked hard with you on understanding that she wasn't going to abandon you. She'd worked hard to get you to accept her as a maternal role in your life.
But that illusive word still evaded her.
She didn't need it, not truly. She knew what you thought of her and you knew what she thought of you.
She'd do anything for your happiness, including draining her bank to win you this stupid blue bird.
Your eyes had lit up when you'd seen it but you seemed fairly realistic for such a little kid.
These games were rigged but Mary refuses to let that stop her.
You want this stupid bird.
She'll get you this stupid bird.
Her hands are sweaty as she grabs her last ball. The others, surprisingly, have all gone in after nearly fifteen rounds of this stupid carnival game and it slowly dawns on her that this is the last shot.
She wipes her hands on her shirt.
"Mary?" You say and she looks down at you," Are you okay?"
"I'm just fine, birdie. One last shot and we can get your bird."
You glance down bashfully, fingers still threaded around her belt loop. "It's okay if you can't make it. We can go on the teacups instead."
Mary frowns, dropping to her knee so she can cradle your cheek in one of her big hands. "You don't want the bird?"
"I do," You say," But...I don't want you to feel bad if you can't get it in."
"Trust me," Mary says," I just want to make you happy."
You look into her eyes, searching for any hint of untruthfulness in them but you find none. You nod. "You should move slightly to the left," You say," And spread your fingers out a little more."
"Thanks, birdie."
She does as you've said and shoots.
The ball goes in and Mary breathes out a sigh of relief, already leaning over the counter to talk to the poor minimum wage worker that's had to sit through all her attempts.
"Yeah," She says," The bird. The blue one. Up top. Yeah, that one."
He has to get a big stick with a hook on the end to get it off and Mary takes it from him triumphantly.
She presents it to you and you gently stroke your hand over the fur.
She's still holding it but you bypass your new favourite toy completely, moving to hug her as tightly as you can.
"Thank you, Mummy."
Mary tries not to let you finally saying the 'm' word affect her, forcing back the tears that want to fall as she hugs you back, raining kisses onto the top of your hair.
"It was my pleasure, birdie."

lucky-bucky-boy has a really good smutty one shot about being undercover with Bucky
"Undercovers"
Warnings- SMUT! Friends to lovers? -------------------------------------------
The air in the fancy casino, was thick with cologne and desperation. Bucky, ever the picture of charm and sophistication, in a well-tailored black suit, leaned closer to you, his voice a low rumble. “Enjoying the high life, doll face?”
You batted your eyelashes, channelling your inner actor. “Only because you're here, handsome.”
It was all part of the act. You and Bucky, have been working together for about two years. It had been a normal mission so far. Until you two were told, that you had to pose as lovers for the upcoming mission. You both were calm about it.
Flirting with Bucky was the easy part, as you two were close friends. A playful banter was a natural extension of your friendship.
Mr and Mrs. Stan, socialite couple with a penchant for gambling and questionable art collections. In reality, you and Bucky were after a stolen prototype weapon, rumored to be changing hands tonight.
Tonight, it was amplified, a performance for any potential buyers lurking around. You exchanged playful swats, whispered secrets, and Bucky even ‘accidentally’ brushed his hand against yours, sending a delicious shiver down your spine. All for the mission, of course you thought…so did Bucky. Right?
Hours bled into each other, a blur of clinking glasses, fabricated interest in dubious paintings, and a well-timed ‘win’ at the roulette table.
As Bucky went, to get drinks for you and him, some guy came over and started to talk with you. “Hey beautiful, what's your name?” The man asked, trying to flirt with you, Bucky was quick by your side, gripping your arm firmly, glaring at the man. “Leave her alone.” Bucky said through clenched teeth, his tone dripping with warning, the man seemed puzzled by his response.
“What's it to ya? Can't a man flirt with a beautiful woman?” The man retorted. Bucky let out a small murmur of annoyance, as he gripped your arm tighter and glared at the man again. “No, you can't.” Bucky said, he still couldn't believe that he was being this possessive over you, he had no right. Right? He couldn't stop the burning jealousy that was building in him.
“And I don't like someone touching or flirting with my fiancée! Get away, you understand?” Bucky said, and the man seemed to see the warning in his eyes this time, and finally nodded and started to walk away. The air crackled with nervous electricity and something else entirely.
Maybe it was the wine, or the sequined cocktail dress that felt like a second skin (and three sizes too small), but your stomach was doing loop-the-loops.
The possessive nature of Bucky was a major turn on for you. Your panties, were in a twist.
The night was a blur of champagne flutes, caviar canapés, and Bucky's expertly delivered charm. You danced close, your bodies brushing, sending shivers down each other’s spine. The playful flirting, you both usually reserved for sparring sessions, took on a whole new meaning under the chandeliers.
“You know...” Bucky murmured, his breath warm against your ear as you both waltzed, “this whole fiancé thing feels surprisingly believable.”
You scoffed, but blush heated your cheeks. “Maybe a little too believable, ‘Stan’.”
Soon, Valentina Fontaine the target began to approach you and Bucky.
“You ready, doll?” Bucky drawled, the black fabric straining across his broad shoulders. A playful glint danced in his steel-blue eyes. “As ready as I'll ever be, handsome…” you retorted, trying to project confidence.
Valentina was flirting heavily with Bucky, which made you see red. You wonder, if this is, how he felt before? She was ignoring you completely, and you had enough of her touching Bucky, who was highly uncomfortable.
You excused yourself and weaved through the throng, brushing against a waiter carrying a tray of champagne flutes. One ‘accidentally’ spilling on Valentina, as her guards rushed to clean her up, Bucky like a gentleman held her purse, making you roll your eyes, as he swiftly took the key from it.
Finally, your chance arrived. Valentina, took a bathroom break. Bucky, ever the smooth operator, distracted her bodyguards, while you slipped into her private dressing room. Jackpot. A hidden compartment in her vanity revealed a flash drive with incriminating data.
Back in your hotel room, adrenaline buzzed through your veins. Relief warred with a newfound tension. You'd gotten the intel, but the night wasn't over. Here, alone in this opulent cage, the charade started to unravel.
Bucky poured drinks for you and him, his gaze lingering on you. “Good job tonight...” he said, his voice rough.
A teasing smile played on your lips. “Always the charmer, Barnes.” But the compliment hung heavy in the air. You both circled each other, the playful dance taking on a new edge.
“So…any reason, you made the waiter spill champagne on Valentina?” Bucky asks with a mischievous smirk. “Any reason, you were possessive, when the guy was flirting with me?” you teased him back.
“I was looking after my future wife…” “I was looking after my future husband…”
“Well, partner,” you say, with a playful smile, tossing the stolen flash drive to Bucky, who catches it with a wink. “Mission accomplished.”
Bucky's eyes narrowed. “Indeed. Now, about that fiancé thing…”
He pulled you close, the suit jacket falling away to reveal the familiar worn t-shirt he wore beneath. Laughter escaped your lips as he dipped you a playful bow.
“Care to take it one step further, doll?”
One step closer, and his hand was on your cheek, his thumb tracing a soft path over your lips. “This,” he murmured, his voice husky, “this feels a little too real, doesn't it?”
And it did. The line between mission and something more had blurred. Your breath hitched. “Maybe it should...” you whispered before kissing him.
It started as a release; a surge of emotions bottled up for too long. But the kiss ignited something deeper, a fire fuelled by unspoken feelings and the thrill of the night. Clothes fell away, replaced by a desperate urgency.
As soon as your back was pressed against the bed, Bucky lost all self-control.
A growl emitted from his throat, low and rumbling against your mouth. The kiss was hard, a battle of tongues for dominance. An aggressive kiss, making you moan and Bucky’s cock to twitch mindlessly against your tummy.
Bucky pulls back, looking at you. He gently traces his finger over your face. “Mine…” He leans down and brushes his lips against yours, kissing you deeply.
You deepen the kiss, your hands gently sliding down his butt. He slides his hands down your back, his fingers lightly brushing against your butt, kneading them. His kiss becomes hungry, almost desperate, as if he wants as much of you, as he can get.
“You drive me crazy, doll face...” he murmurs against your skin. He leans back down and deepens his kiss, his touch more insistent, his hands sliding over your body. Bucky kisses along your collarbone, down towards your chest, his lips finding the sensitive skin between your breasts. His breath is warm against you, as he lets one of his hands wander lower, his fingertips lightly brushing between your legs.
His lips find the spot on your neck and you moan softly. His fingers find the spot in your cunt. You gasp and moan, your hands slide along Bucky's sides up to his hair, tangling in them.
“I'm gonna take good care of you, doll.” Bucky murmurs against your neck, as he kisses along your collarbone again, nipping and sucking until he's sure he's left a mark.
His hands took your breasts between his palms, kneading them, worshipping them. He took one of the hardened nipples between his lips, sucking it with a deep moan. “Bu…Bucky” you gasped. He nuzzled his face against your breasts before pulling his mouth away, with an obscene pop.
You moan and gently roll your hips against him, the anticipation almost driving you over the edge. He pauses as his eyes move over you, drinking in the sight of you, his breathing is heavy. “You're so beautiful...” he says, sliding a hand up your thigh to your hip and leaning down to kiss along your stomach, his warm lips moving slowly.
“Bucky…” you moan, your hands tangling in the sheets again. His tongue starts to move slowly, teasingly over you. You pull your bottom lip between your teeth, trying to stifle your sounds as he slowly circles his tongue around your clit, teasing your button.
Bucky lets out a low moan against you, as he leans back, hooking his arms around your thighs, pulling you closer, as he lowers his head and his tongue finds your center again, moving slowly.
You let go of the sheets, as your hands grip his hair, your back arching in pleasure, as he drives you closer with his tongue. “Bucky…” you gasp, your eyes closing as he brings you closer to the edge.
He can feel you're close, by the way your body tenses, the way your breathing changes. He moves his tongue faster, wanting to take you over the edge, pushing you closer and closer, until you let out a gasp and a shiver runs through you, as waves of pleasure wash over you.
Your body starts to slowly come down, your eyes opening. Bucky lifts his head, stroking your thighs, pressing little kisses to your abdomen, a smile curving the corners of his mouth.
He slides up, leaning down and kissing you slowly. You can taste yourself on his lips, as he kisses you deeply, gently rolling his hips against yours again.
You hook your legs around his waist, rolling your hips against his. You can feel his arousal and it makes you crave his touch. You pull him closer, deepening the kiss, your hands trailing down his back, your nails scratching him, as he keeps rolling his hips against yours.
He groans softly, the feel of you against him causing his breathing to get heavier. He pulls back from the kiss slightly. “I want you,” he almost whispers, kissing along your jaw.
You slide your hand between your bodies, caressing his hardened cock. “You have me,” you say, leaning up and kissing his jaw before nuzzling along his neck. His breathing becomes heavier, as you find that sensitive spot on his neck and he gently moans your name.
You tilt your head back, as Bucky kisses along your neck again, the anticipation building. He gently presses you down on the bed, his hands pressing against your thighs, his lips trailing kisses up your stomach.
He lifts his head, looking down at you. His eyes are dark with need. He reaches down and gently teases you with his fingers, watching the way your lips part to let out a soft moan, your body shifting slightly at his touch.
Bucky gently withdraws his fingers. He leans down and kisses you, before shifting to settle between your legs. You wrap your legs around him, trying to pull him closer. Bucky kisses you deeply as he pushes into you, your pussy takes all of him in. His thick length stretched your walls.
His breath catching in his throat, at the feel of you wrapped around him. He bottoms out with a groan, before pulling back out again. His hips soon found a suitable pace. You break the kiss, breathing heavily, as he starts to move against you slowly, his forehead pressing against yours again, his arms around you, holding you close.
Bucky speeds up slightly, making your breathing hitch. He presses a little deeper and your nails slightly dig into his shoulders. “Bucky” you whisper, as he hits deep in your cunt, making all your thoughts scatter.
He leans back, looking into your eyes, his name on your lips, fuelling his need, his pace increasing as he buries his face in your neck. You can feel him getting closer, his breathing heavier, your name escaping his lips in a groan. You're close, too.
“Just let go, doll…” he whispers in your ear, his hips moving faster, his lips against yours. The words push you over the edge and you cry out his name, against his lips, as waves of pleasure wash over you. Bucky shudders, as he follows you over, holding you close to him.
You moaned into the kiss, as you came hard, “I'm... I'm gonna come...” he pants as he nears his climax. He spent himself inside you. Filling you up to the brim. He collapsed on top of you, catching his breath, burying his face in your neck.
You lay there for a while, panting, still wrapped in each other's arms. Bucky nuzzles into your neck, placing small kisses along your skin, making you shiver slightly.
He slowly rolls off of you and lays down beside you, his hand lightly caressing your side. You scoot closer into his side, your head resting on his chest as he wraps an arm around you, pulling you closer.
You close your eyes, as you feel his hand run idly up and down your back. You both lay there in a comfortable silence for a while. The line between playful banter and genuine affection blurred, leaving you and Bucky tangled in the sheets, the mission a distant afterthought. As dawn painted the sky a fiery orange, Bucky held you close, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
“Maybe we should practice this fiancé thing more often,” he murmured, his voice husky with sleep. You chuckled, tracing a finger across his metal arm. “Just between us, Barnes? I wouldn't mind.”
My pervert brain had to write about this.

~♡Brat♡~
"Nemiiii, I wan' that one!... Pleaseeee..?" You flashed your big doe eyes at him, pointing at the bright pink juicy track suit you had yet to acquire.
You had been meaning to buy one for quite a while now but could never find one in the color you want, unfortunately.
"No. The jacket alone is $113, baby, an' you haven't quite been on your best behavior today" He replied, never breaking his gaze away from the Jordans he was looking at. He was referring to the 8 bags he was already holding. (Even though you had repeatedly told him you could pay if he didn't want to).
Your arms flopped down at your sides in defeat, the bangles and bracelets on your wrists clinking together as you pouted up at your fiance.
You felt the familiar sting of tears well up in your eyes at the denial. You really wanted it. And you'd be damned if you weren't gonna get it by the end of the day.
You smirked as an idea popped into your head, and stepped closer to Sanemi. Your left hand came up to grab at his right biscep and your right hand moved to lay on his chest.
Your tan wedges added a good few inches to your height, making it easier for you to reach and whisper into his ear. "Oh really? So there's nothing I can do to change your mind, huh?... Bumer, I was thinking some time on my knees might do the trick" You knew you had him wrapped around your well-manicured finger by the way his eyes shifted slightly to towards you in contemplation.
He grunts under his breath, "Your on, princess. You make me cum an' it's all yours baby, " He leaned closer to you as he spoke.
You smiled up at him, your glossy lips shining and your sickeningly sweet Victoria's Secret perfume intoxicating him. His head was getting foggy at just the thought of your plump lips slickly wrapped around his already hardening cock.
You led him out of the store, looping your arm in his as you shut your brain off and let him lead you to the family bathroom in Macy's. Good thing it was a Wednesday and there wasn't many people here at the mall.
You and Nemi liked coming here on Wednesday's because you had worked at this mall in your teen years and knew that Tuesday was the day that all of the restock items came into the stores, and nobody's comes to the mall on Wednesday, so you get first picks at all the good stuff.
The two of you had already been to Victoria's Secret, and bought some new sets fro special occasions, Zumiez to get Nemi some new pants, - there was a sale - and to get you some new beanies. You had also spent almost $200 at Spencer's, buying brand new 'adult' toys to try out later. You had also stopped at Forever 21 to get a new dress for you and Nemi's date night on Saturday.
But for now here you were in a family bathroom that was, surprisingly clean. Nemi sat down on the closed toilet seat, after unbottoning his pants and shrugging off his jacket and tossing it on the floor in front of him, leaving him in a white wife-beater.
"Kneel on that. Now." His voice was stern and dominating. The lowness of it combing over your body, almost forcing you to kneel down in front of him.
"Well? Get to it slut... Don' tell me your backing out now, after allat talk earlier" His crystal white grin was sinister, but nonetheless put you into a deadly trance.
He didn't wait any longer and pulled out his raging hard-on. He wasn't the longest you had seen, - you had never really liked them too long - but his girth. My god, you could go on for days about how perfectly his thickness fit inside your holes.
You knew you had to be leaking at this point. You could feel the sticky wettness on your thighs. His dick was leaking at the tip, giving away how excited he actually was right now.
You breathed in deep, inhaling the heavy scent of his musk. It made your vision hazy and clouded your brain. Your head with filled with non stop thoughts of his cock.
Finally, you leaned forward and gripped the base with your small, manicured hands. Your gaze never left his as you left small kitten licks up and down the sides of his manhood, tracing the prominent veins lining his shaft.
Your mouth came back up to the top, tongue trailing along the bottom, where he had the thickest vien out of all of them, your pink tinted lip-gloss leaving kiss marks along his thickness.
You popped his tip into your mouth and sucked slightly. "Oh fuuuck, that's good, baby" He grunted out, in between heavy sighs.
His reaction pleased the hell out of you, motivating more movement from your tongue as you sunk further down his dick. You pulled back up and hollowed your mouth around him, creating a stronger suction than before.
His hips stuttered and lifted towards your hot mouth. "Shit!" He murmured under his breath as one of his large hands came to the back of your head, pushing you down on his cock as he fucked into your throat harshly. "Bet you like this don' you, baby?" You answered by humming out a muffled 'mhmm'.
"Course you do, your my good girl, after all. M'perfect baby. You belong to me. Nobody else can do what I do, huh? I've ruined you, haven't I?" His voice got more coarse and his hips sped up their pace. You could tell he was close. He always talks like this when his on the brink of coming.
You reached up to the hem of your strapless bubble-gum-pink dress and pulled it down, letting your plump breast fall from their confines. The silver of your pierced nipples shining in the harsh bathroom lighting.
Letting go of him, you grabbed both of your breasts and lifted yourself up into your knees, wrapping them around him as you continued to suckle on his tip.
"Holy shit! M'gonna cum princess, g'na cum down that pretty throat then m'gunna take you home and fuck that perfect little pussy" His pants were getting faster and faster as he chased his release.
You gazed back up at him through tears and subtle lash extensions. You hollowed out your cheeks and sucked harder, simultaneously moving your tongue around his tip and sliding your tits up and down his shaft.
"Holy fucking- shit baby, so fuck- so fucking good" His breathing was speeding up and shallowing out. You could tell he was about to cum, so you kept to what you were doing until you heard him suck in a quick breath and felt his hips stuttering.
His warm fluids flowing down your throat, so hot you thought it might be boiling. His hand came down unto the back of your head and his cock pushed to the back of your mouth, sending his cum further down your throat, giving you no choice but to swallow.
As you pulled off and caught your breath he spoke, "fuck baby, keep sucking me off like that and I'll buy you whatever the fuck you want"
You smirked, and wiped the corner of your mouth while standing up. Grabbing the straps of your dress you readjusted yourself, before turning to Sanemi. "Maybe I will then" you turned to the mirror in the bathroom. And reapplied your cherry lip-gloss.
He shrugged his pants and underwear back up and came behind you to rub your hips with his much larger hands.
You finished touching your face back up and turned to meet his lips in a soft kiss. You practically melted into him as his arms circled around your waist.
He pulled away and grabbed your hand, lacing your fingers together, and walking you out of the bathroom.
"Let's go get you that track suit, sweet girl"

bayern munich frauen x reader
1/6, 2/6, 3/6, 4/6, 5/6, 6/6
summary: fate brought them to you
you've been in munich for two weeks now, and life has been surprisingly calm.
after the chaos of packing, traveling, and settling into your new apartment, you've finally found a routine. the apartment is cozy, mid century themed and tucked away in a quiet nice bavarian neighborhood with everything you need nearby.
maple, your tabby cat, has settled in just as well as you, spending most of her days lounging in the patches of sunlight that filter through your windows. sometimes she lays on your balcony when it is warm outside.
remote work has kept you busy, but it’s not the same as the constant stream of activities back home. you've spent most of your free time exploring the neighborhood, finding comfort in the little things—like the coffee shop at the corner of your street.
the barista already knows your order: iced mocha coffee with strawberry cold foam to have with a plain bagel with butter. it’s become a morning ritual, something you look forward to each day.
despite the quiet life you're living, you’re still in touch with the girls from the group chat. they’ve kept you in the loop, sending memes, talking about football, and, most importantly, making you feel like you’ve got friends here in munich.
you’ve especially bonded with sydney, who’s given you tons of recommendations on places to eat and visit. you haven’t met any of them in person yet, though.
the thought of it makes you a little nervous. would they be as friendly in real life as they are in the chat? would they recognize you?
this morning is no different from any other. you wake up, stretch, and check your phone. a few messages have already popped up in the group chat.
georgia: guten morgen guys! practice soon ugh, i’m so tired from the sprints last night. i need caffeine
sydney: always need caffeine.
sydney: hey y/n
you: hi good morning!
sydney: try the new place i told you about yet, y/n?
you: not yet! i was planning to check it out this weekend.
tuva: y/n, if you don’t check it out soon, we’re gonna have to drag you there!!
you laugh to yourself as you get out of bed. maple stirs from her spot on the windowsill, stretching her little legs before hopping down to rub against your leg.
"hey, maple," you say softly, giving her a gentle scratch behind the ears before heading to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
within thirty minutes, you're dressed and heading out the door, your mind already on that iced mocha. the walk to the coffee shop is short, and you smile at the familiar sight of the cozy little café as you approach.
it’s not too crowded this morning, just a few people scattered around with their laptops and books at the wooden glossed tables.
you step up to the counter, already knowing your order by heart. as you wait for the barista to finish up with a few other customers, the bell above the door rings, signaling someone’s entrance.
you glance over out of habit, not thinking much of it—until you see a familiar face.
georgia stanway. from the group chat.
you freeze for a second, your brain trying to catch up with what you’re seeing. she’s dressed casually, a grey hoodie pulled over her head with matching joggers, but there’s no mistaking her.
she’s one of the girls from the bayern munich chat, and she’s just walked into your coffee shop. you’re not sure what to do—does she even care enough to want to talk to you in person? you’ve never spoken to any of them face-to-face, aside from a few private messages with sydney about food spots.
you’re still debating what to do when georgia looks up and catches your eye.
for a moment, you're sure she doesn’t recognize you, but then her face breaks into a smile.
"y/n?" she asks, her voice tinged with surprise.
you nod, unable to stop the grin that spreads across your face.
"yeah, hey!"
before you know it, georgia’s quickly walking over to you, pulling you into a quick hug.
"oh my days, i didn’t think i’d run into you here!" she laughs, stepping back.
"i’ve been waiting to meet you. what are you doing at this café?"
you chuckle nervously, still a little stunned.
"i live just down the street. this is my usual spot."
georgia’s eyes widen.
"no way! i live right down the street too. this is my favorite café."
"seriously?" you laugh.
"i’ve been coming here almost every day since i moved."
"well, i guess we’re neighbors now," georgia says, still grinning.
"small world, huh?"
you nod, feeling the nervousness melt away. georgia’s warmth and friendliness are exactly how she was in the group chat, and you’re already starting to feel comfortable.
"what are you getting?" georgia asks, stepping up to the counter with you.
"an iced mocha and a plain bagel with butter," you reply.
georgia raises her eyebrows, impressed.
"fancy. i’m just going for a regular iced coffee today. practice from last night has drained me."
the two of you place your orders and find a table near the window, settling in for what turns into an easy conversation.
you talk about the neighborhood, about your favorite spots so far, and about how surreal it is to finally meet each other in person.
"i can’t believe we live so close," georgia says at one point, shaking her head.
"i knew you were in munich, but i didn’t think we’d run into each other like this. we were all planning to invite you to the games in order to get the chance to see you!"
"oh my– and me neither," you admit, smiling as you sip your iced mocha.
"but this is nice. makes the city feel a little less big, you know?"
georgia nods, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"so, what have you been up to? besides chilling at this café."
you shrug.
"mostly work. i’ve been working remotely, so i spend a lot of time here or at home with maple."
"maple?"
"my cat," you explain with a laugh.
"she’s a tabby. super lazy."
"cute. i’m more of a dog person, but cats are cool!" georgia says, leaning back in her chair.
"speaking of lazy, i have to head to practice soon, but we need to hang out again sometime. we all think it’s nice having a non-football friend."
you smile at that.
"yeah, i’d like that."
before you leave, georgia pulls out her phone.
"we need to send a pic to the group chat. everyone’s gonna freak out that we met in person!"
you laugh as she leans in for a quick selfie.
"okay, ready?" she says, holding the phone up. you smile, and she snaps the photo. within seconds, it’s posted in the group chat.
georgia: *one photo attachment*
georgia: look who i ran into!!
the chat blows up immediately.
sydney: NO WAY.
klara: LUCKY???!!!!!
tuva: i’m dying omg
lena: jealous af rn
sarah: this is too cute. i can’t
you laugh as the messages roll in, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. you hadn’t expected to feel this connected to them, but here you are, genuinely happy that you’ve met georgia.
"i knew they’d freak out," georgia says with a grin, pocketing her phone.
"anyway, i gotta head to practice, but let’s hang out soon, yeah?"
"for sure," you reply, standing up as well.
"i’m heading to the gym anyway."
"perfect timing," georgia says, pulling you into another quick hug.
"see you later, neighbor."
"see you," you say, waving as she heads out the door.
as you walk back home, you feel a strange sense of contentment. you hadn’t expected to make friends so quickly in munich, but here you are, part of a group of girls who seem genuinely happy to have you around—even if the way you met was unconventional.
later that afternoon, after you’ve finished your workout and settled back in at home, you check your phone again. more messages have piled up in the group chat, and you scroll through them with a smile.
tuva: y/n, you should come to our game this weekend. we’re playing frankfurt at home
sydney: YES. you have to come. it’s gonna be epic.
lea: you don’t really have a choice y/n
you blink, surprised by the invitation. you hadn’t even thought about going to one of their games, but now that they’re asking, you find yourself grinning.
you: lea i’d love to anyways! count me in.
the excitement in the chat is immediate.
kathi: yessss! it’s gonna be so fun.
sydney: we’ll hook you up with tickets and the seating stuff. don’t worry about a thing!
lena: you can sit with kathi and i! we can’t play because of our acl injuries
y/n: ouu
y/n: ouu to the seating, not you and kathi being injured
klara: don’t lie y/n
kathi: ??
lena: ?????
klara: i’m kidding!
y/n: LMAO
ana g: see you soon y/n!
the day of the bayern munich vs. frankfurt game arrive a few days later. you’re feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. this is your first time attending a professional football match, and it’s not just any match—it’s your new friends’ match.
these girls, whom you’ve gotten to know through a mistaken group chat, are now part of your life, and you’re here to support them. its out-of-body to you.
you stand outside the stadium, ticket on your phone, which sydney had sent to you earlier in the week. as you walk in, you can’t help but take in the electric atmosphere. fans are streaming in from every direction, wearing red and white scarves, chanting and singing in excitement.
the energy is contagious.
after buying a pretty bayern-themed scarf from the merch stand, you wrap it around your neck for good measure. it feels like the perfect way to show support for your new friends, even though you’ve only known them for about a month.
they’ve been so welcoming, and you can’t help but feel grateful for how things have turned out.
you glance at your phone, double-checking the seating section sydney had mentioned in her text. the ticket leads you to the family and friends section, which surprises you.
you didn’t expect to be sitting somewhere so special for the team. then again, you didn’t expect to be here at all a month ago.
when you reach your row, you notice that the seats directly beside you are still empty, but that’s okay. you sit down, adjusting your scarf and the brown bomber jacket you’d chosen for the game. the late evening breeze is cool, but the jacket keeps you warm as you watch the girls warm up on the pitch below.
as you look out at the field, you spot all of the familiar faces from the group chat—they’re already practicing. you can’t help but smile, knowing you’ve gotten to know these players beyond just their professional personas.
the same moment– you see two figures walking together along the bottom of the family and friends section, heading in your direction:
lena and kathi.
you try not to stare, pretending you’re just casually looking around as they get closer to the section where you're seated.
it’s impossible not to notice when they head directly toward you. your heart skips a beat, unsure of what to expect.
"y/n!!!?" kathi grins, stopping beside you.
"hii its nice to finally meet you!"
"oh, hey!!!" you stand up, a bit flustered but smiling.
"it’s so good to finally meet you guys in person."
kathi pulls you into a hug, and lena smiles as she steps closer, giving you a quick hug as well.
"we were wondering when we’d run into you," lena says, her voice warm and teasing.
"same here," you laugh nervously.
"i wasn’t sure i’d see any of you outside the chat."
"well, now you’re stuck with us," kathi jokes, sitting down on your left, while lena settles in on your right.
"this seat taken?"
"nope, all yours," you reply, staying cool despite the fact that you’re suddenly sitting between two bayern stars.
"so, you come here often?" lena asks, nudging you lightly as she adjusts her scarf.
you grin.
"this is my first time at a soc- sorry, football match, actually."
kathi raises an eyebrow.
"wait, you’ve never been to a football game?"
"not really," you admit, feeling a little sheepish.
"i know how the game works, but i’ve just never watched it. i played basketball growing up in the states."
"basketball? that’s cool," kathi says, her eyes lighting up with interest.
"i could never get the hang of basketball. too many rules."
"too many rules?" lena laughs, shaking her head.
"you’re a footballer, and you think basketball has too many rules?"
"okay, fair," kathi grins, giving lena a playful nudge from around your shoulder.
"but come on, football’s just easier to follow."
"yeah, yeah, whatever," lena says with a grin.
then, turning back to you, she asks, "so. .y/n tell me– do you have any other friends in munich? or maybe… a boyfriend?"
you laugh, not expecting the question.
"oh, no. definitely no boyfriend."
lena raises an eyebrow, intrigued.
"really?"
"yeah," you nod, still smiling.
"i don’t swing that way."
kathi lets out a quiet snicker, and lena shoots her a quick look—one of interest.
kathi just rolls her eyes playfully, clearly aware that lena is trying to flirt.
you, of course, are oblivious and continue chatting as if nothing is unusual.
"good to know," lena says, her tone lighter, almost teasing.
before the conversation can continue, kathi jumps in, steering it away from lena’s not-so-subtle flirting.
"so, any hobbies? other than being in random group chats with footballers?"
"actually, yeah," you say, smiling at the memory of your last project. "i do ceramics."
"no way," kathi says, clearly impressed.
"that’s awesome. i’ve always wanted to try something like that."
"you should! there’s a ceramics studio in downtown munich. i’m going to a class next week if you guys want to come with me on wednesday."
"i’m in," kathi says instantly, grinning.
"i’d love to, but i’ve got a thing with adidas that day," lena says, frowning slightly.
"but next time for sure."
"no worries," you say, understanding.
"it sounds like you guys are always busy with something."
"pretty much," kathi sighs, leaning back in her seat.
"but hey, at least we get days like today to relax."
you glance over at lena and kathi, both of them sitting out of this gme due to their ACL injuries.
"how are you guys doing with the injuries, by the way?"
"we’re getting there," kathi says with a small smile.
"it sucks, but we’re doing okay."
"yeah," lena adds.
"it’s tough watching from the sidelines, but we’re handling it."
just then, a loud cheer erupts from the crowd as the game kicks off. you turn your attention to the field, watching as bayern and frankfurt begin to battle it out.
about thirty minutes into the game, georgia breaks through frankfurt’s defense and scores a stunning goal. the crowd screams, and you, kathi, and lena all clap enthusiastically.
"that’s our girl," kathi grins, clapping as she watches georgia celebrate with her teammates.
you lean over slightly, grinning as you point towards georgia.
"so how does someone kick a ball that far? seriously, that was impressive."
lena smirks and leans in a little closer to you, her eyes playful.
"how do you shoot a three-pointer?"
you laugh.
"practice, lots of practice. you’ve just got to get the right angle, arm strength, and—"
"so basically, the same thing as kicking a ball from outside the penalty box?" lena teases.
"i guess you could say that," you reply with a grin, enjoying the playful banter.
the three of you settle into the game, chatting in between plays and cheering for bayern.
as you talk, you can’t help but notice people around you taking pictures. kathi and lena are well-known, and while you’re not used to the attention, it’s clear that people are curious about who you are.
who’s the girl sitting with two injured bayern players? whispers and glances are cast in your direction from photographers and fans, but you try not to pay it any mind.
by halftime, the score is still 1-0 in favor of bayern, and lena and kathi stand up to stretch.
"we’re going to the lounge," kathi says, glancing down at you.
"you coming?"
you hesitate, unsure if you’re even allowed.
"i thought that was just for family and players?"
lena laughs. "you’re on the list. we put you down as one of our guests. you’re our friend."
"seriously?" you feel a smile spread across your face, touched by the gesture.
"that’s amazing. i had no idea."
"come on, let’s go," kathi says, waving you along.
"you’ve got to see it."
you follow them to the lounge, which is a lot fancier than you expected. plush couches, tables lined with snacks, and a relaxed atmosphere for family and friends of the team to hang out during halftime.
"you know– it’s so nice to have a friend who’s not a footballer," lena speaks.
"i’m glad you guys like my presence," you admit, still in awe of how quickly everything’s changed since that random group chat.
“oh, i definitely do.” lena smirks.
kathi roles her eyes at lena while smiling.
"it feels like you’re one of us now." kathi says, nudging you.
after the break, the three of you head back out to your seats just in time to see bayern score another goal. this time, it’s klara who fires a screamer from way outside the penalty box, sending the ball soaring into the back of the net. the crowd erupts, and you clap along with lena and kathi.
lena glances over at you with a playful smile.
"i’ve got to say, y/n," she starts, her voice light but with that familiar teasing edge,
"you’re really pulling off that look. the brown bomber jacket, the bavarian scarf—you're fitting in with the bayern fans already."
you laugh, tugging at the scarf and feeling a little flustered by the compliment.
"oh, thanks. i wasn’t sure if i could pull off the whole ‘bayern fan’ look, but here we are."
"oh, you’re pulling it off," lena says, her eyes lingering on you for a moment longer than you expect. there’s something in her tone—something that makes your heart skip a beat—but you shrug it off, thinking she’s just being friendly.
kathi, sitting on your other side, shoots lena a knowing look.
"careful, lena. you’re laying it on pretty thick," she says, grinning as she leans forward to catch your eye.
"she’s just messing with you, y/n."
you chuckle, completely oblivious to the flirtatious undercurrent.
"well, it’s working. i feel like a proper football fan now."
"you look like one too," lena adds, her smile widening as she casually adjusts the scarf around your neck. her fingers brush lightly against your skin, and for a brief second, there’s a flicker of something more in the way she’s looking at you.
again, you chalk it up to her just being playful. after all, you’ve only known these girls for a month—there’s no way lena’s flirting, right?
"okay, okay," you laugh, trying to shake off the slight awkwardness you feel.
"i get it, i look the part. but you two are the real stars here."
"oh please," kathi says, rolling her eyes.
"we’re benched, remember? lena and i are just here for moral support. you’re the real star for coming to your first game and surviving sitting with us."
you smile, feeling comfortable with them even though you’re completely out of your element.
"honestly, i’ve had so much fun already. i didn’t realize how intense football could be."
"you haven’t seen anything yet," lena says, nudging your arm.
"this is just a regular league game. wait until you see the champions league.”
"yeah, lena’s right. the energy in those games is something else," kathi adds, leaning back in her seat and stretching.
you nod, already imagining the bigger games. "i can’t wait to see more."
"and now that you’re here in munich," lena says, leaning a little closer,
"we’ll have to make sure you come to more games. maybe we’ll even get you onto the pitch someday."
"me? on the pitch? you guys would concede twenty goals before the second half." you laugh, shaking your head.
"i’m just here to watch. you guys are the pros."
"oh, i don’t know," lena says, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"you’ve got the look down, you’ve got the enthusiasm. all you need now is a little practice."
"practice?" you raise an eyebrow, amused.
"i don’t think i’d last five minutes on the field."
kathi grins, leaning in from the other side.
"i think you’d surprise yourself. plus, you play basketball, right? you’ve got the coordination."
"it’s not the same thing," you say, laughing.
"i’ve never even kicked a ball before."
"we’ll fix that," lena says confidently, her hand brushing against your arm again.
"next time we’re at the training grounds after our injury rehab, you should come. we’ll show you how it’s done."
kathi watches the exchange, clearly picking up on lena’s flirty tone, but you remain completely oblivious.
you just smile, nodding along as if they’re simply making friendly suggestions.
"yeah, i’m sure i’ll be a natural," you joke, but lena’s gaze lingers on you for a beat longer, and kathi gives her a subtle nudge.
by the time the final whistle blows after the game, bayern has secured a solid 3-0 victory, and the atmosphere in the stadium is electric. you clap and cheer along with the rest of the fans, feeling proud of your friends on the field.
"let’s go down and meet everyone," lena says, standing up and stretching.
"wait, meet everyone?" you ask, your eyes wide.
"yeah, come on," kathi says, grinning as she grabs your hand and pulls you toward the field.
"we’re taking you down to meet the whole team."
you can hardly believe this is happening. as the three of you make your way onto the pitch, your heart races. you’ve seen these girls on instagram or in the group chat, but now you’re about to meet them in person.
as soon as they spot you, georgia, sydney, tuva, and the rest of the team come running over, laughing and cheering.
“y/n!!” sam kerr squeals as she jogs over.
"it’s the wrong number girl!" tuva jokes, pulling you into a hug.
"i was starting to think you were a figment of my imagination." the norwegian continued.
“no no, i am real!” you laugh as she patted your shoulder.
"y/n!!!!"
you look over to see sydney sprinting to you from the benches.
she nearly tackles you as her strong body pushes yours into a hug. shes happy just as you were. you’ve talked to her more individually than the rest of the girls throughout the month, so you are most familar with syd.
sydney pulls back from the hug but keeps her hands on your shoulders.
"finally! it’s so good to meet you in person."
you smile, feeling the warmth of her welcome.
"yeah, it feels surreal, honestly."
"how’s munich treating you so far?" she asks, genuinely interested, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"it’s been great," you reply, nodding.
"i’m still getting used to everything, but it’s such a beautiful city like you’ve said. i’ve just been trying new places, you know?"
"that’s awesome," sydney says, giving you an approving nod.
"i’m glad you’re settling in. you’re gonna love it here once you get into the groove. georgia mentioned you live near her?"
"yeah, just a few streets down, actually."
"perfect!" sydney says, her smile widening.
"do you have a ride home? i can give you a ride home if you want. i’m heading that way anyway."
you blink, surprised by the offer, but then you nod, grateful.
"i was just going to take the bus home but that’d be great syd, thank you so much."
"no problem," she says, waving off your thanks.
"plus, tomorrow, you should join us for lunch. by us i mean me and sam. we are going to get pizza if you’re interested!?”
"that’s awesome, i’d love to" you say, clapping her hands together once as sydney pulls you in for a last hug– just happy to see you after speaking for a full month.
you laugh, feeling a sense of ease settle in. sydney’s kindness wasn’t surprising since she has always been kind and humorous in her messages.
a hand touches your shoulders and you see lena’s bestfriend– lea. the woman’s blonde hair and blue eyes complimented each other and you couldn’t help but smile.
"lea!!!" you laugh, hugging her.
"it’s so good to meet you," lea says, smiling warmly against your shoulder.
"its nice seeing you in person rather than in pictures on my phone." lea continued.
you blush, overwhelmed by how kind they all are. it feels like you’ve known these girls for years, not just weeks.
as the hugs and introductions continue, you can’t help but feel like you’ve found your friends here in munich.
pernille and magda walk over, and you freeze slightly. of course you’ve talked to them in the groupchat but you’ve recently discovered that they’re one of the most iconic couples in women’s football.
"so, you’re the famous y/n," pernille says with a grin, her arm coming to wrap around your shoulders.
"uh, yeah, i guess that’s me," you say, feeling your cheeks heat up.
"you’re adorable," magda says, giving you a once-over before flashing you a smile.
"thanks," you mumble, feeling your face grow even hotter. these girls are all so effortlessly cool, and you’re still trying to wrap your head around the fact that they’ve accepted you into their world.
after chatting with the team for a while, discussing the game and making jokes, you realize just how lucky you are to have stumbled into this friendship.
sure, it started with a wrong number, but now, standing on the pitch surrounded by these incredible women, you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
as the night winds down, sydney meets you after changing and showering in the locker rooms. she grins as the both of you walk to her car, georgia already waiting.
sydney agreed to take the both of you home. since you and georgia are neighbors and sydney lives a couple of minutes away.
"so, what do you think y/n? are you a football fan now?"
"definitely," you laugh, glancing around at the team. "i can’t believe you guys play that amazing sport."
“It's exhausting sometimes though.” georgia says from the passenger seat as you settle in the middle seat in sydney’s car.
“i feel you. i mean i’m not a professional footballer, but i did play basketball for many years.” you say.
“that's not shocking, you look athletic.” sydney says as georgia nods her head.
“thank you! i can’t believe the one and only sydney lohmann is complimenting me.” you joke and georgia laughs.
"believe it," sydney says, reaching over her drivers seat to pat your left knee.
"we’re not letting you go anytime soon."

Something that randomly came to mind...
Enjoy!
(NSFW below the cut; espadas included: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & Neliel)
Struggled a bit with 8, so forgive me. 😭
Types of Doms they are:
Starrk
This man has got exactly two modes when it comes to sex. Lazy or feral.
He's willing to do a lot with you, but if you catch him in his lazy mode you'll likely be doing most of the work.
Ride him, suck him, hell he'll even give you oral if you both find the right positions for him to laze a out.
Just remember: It's not that he isn't enjoying himself; that rock hard dick proves otherwise...
You knew what you were getting into.
Now then, switching gears: when he's feral, he'll barely let you move.
He's making you cum a minimum of one time before he's even going to penetrate you in any way.
He gets very possessive in this state.
Congratulations! You've essentially got a werewolf boyfriend who's usually lazy and can't transform like that...
But! When he needs to claim you for whatever reason? Welp!
Communication is key with this man! He doesn't mind if you have multiple partners, but he can get a bit jealous if you don't tell him!
Hell, you'll find out on more than one occasion, when someone flirts with you...
He'll bring you home and claim you all night long.
He might not even make it home.
Just... Keep him in the loop if you're crushing or plan to date another. it'll probably save some furniture.
Halibel
As she can't quite use her mouth outside of being in her release form, she's had time to master plenty of other ways to get you off.
She prefers to use her hands and fingers on you, but is not opposed to toys in anyway.
That's primarily for when she's doing any for of penetration on you, though.
She has learned to use any and every part of her body to be able to tease you and leave you squirming and begging for her.
Don't call her master. It reminds her of her fraccións.
May accept being called mommy under the right circumstances, though.
Has absolutely no issues with being called daddy.
Just sit on her lap and ask daddy politely if you can ride her thigh~
Not one to get jealous easily, but is definitely protective.
This is particularly true if you are someone who can be seen as weak to others.
Not very loud, but loves hearing how loud she can make you.
Ulquiorra
He struggles a lot with more human like needs and emotions
So he tends to be a heavy service top...
But it comes with so many questions.
"Why does your face warm when I kiss you?"
"Why do you avert your gaze when I-"
You get the idea.
Eventually once repeated behaviors rise up, he starts catching on.
When you make this sound, it means you really like it.
When you squirm, you're not actually trying to get away.
Just simple stuff, but you'll have had to explain it to him a bit before he starts connecting the dots.
Once he's more comfortable with you and starts recognizing these reactions...
You're in for it.
He's definitely someone who gets off on your pleasure.
As long as you're satisfied, so is he.
Nnoitra
He surprisingly doesn't mind being the one to do all the work.
It let's him be in control of, well, everything.
There's something about seeing how much you get off on everything he does to you that drives the predator in him wild.
He enjoys having control, and, having you submit to let him do whatever he wants is too delicious to pass up.
Plus, he can't help but enjoy the way you always act like such cute little prey when he's teasing you.
Those big doe eyes, the small squeaky and whiny noises you make...
The way he can make you come undone with almost any part of his body...
It's very >:))
Not entirely against sharing, but like with Starrk, if it's not discussed he can get a bit jealous
His jealousy, however, is usually more rage fueled than hormonal so watch out for that.
He's not too into being called anything "special"
May accept "daddy" now and again
Despite how kinky sex with him might be-- it is fueled by emotions (at least on his end)
You've sparked his interest in one way or another enough to warrant wanting to carnally claim you...
There's at least some attachments and calling him "master" immediately throws that out the window to him.
Grimmjow
He definitely still has some characteristics from his more beastial hollow form
His need to claim you is always in battle with his desire to see you submit to him
Kneel before the king and offer him a blowjob, he's grinning wider than Nnoitra
Seeing you beg him to pleasure you is just 😘
Part of the problem with him is that it's a bit difficult for him to give oral... Given that he has to be very conscious of every move he makes because of his hollow mask
But he is a god with his hands.
He's another one who likes to watch you ride his thighs.
Absolutely gets off on being called king, but will absolutely bust a nut if you refer to him as your husband (romantic partner ofc)
This is at it's worst before any kind of marriage, but it's still effective after.
Doesn't see the appeal in being called daddy until he *is* a daddy 👀 something about being one makes it kinkier to him for you to call him daddy
Szayel
A bit different from the others on the list in that he wants to be worshipped like a god.
He wants you to use your entire body to do so, but this is just the first act-- no form of penetration just yet. (Minus maybe deep throating him~)
Now, once that's all done he's got PLENTY of ways to pleasure you...
He's definitely into orgasm denial and overstimulation.
He likes testing your body~
If you're willing, definitely would do some experimenting...
He wouldn't do anything too drastic, though.
If not, he'll find a way to make some of his palatable for you~
You really should thank him for thinking of you.
So/so with names. The higher status the name gives him, the more he'll like it.
Neliel
Dommy mommy 🥰
She absolutely loves to spoil you during kinky times together
Another one who gets off more on your pleasure than her own
If you're not a pillow prince(ss) type of sub, she will boss you around a bit~
But she's so sweet when she does that it just has you melting at her every word
"What was that, baby? Tell mommy what you want~"
She might tease you with that one by having you with a gag in your mouth or other things 🤭
Absolutely does get off on taking care of you
Dotes on you, takes great lengths into making sure you're comfortable during aftercare!
Doesn't matter how you compare size wise to her, she's holding you on her and letting you rest your head on her chest
Makes an amazing pillow ngl

y/n doesn't know how to be petty & jealousy is not a good look on jimin
➺ pairing; park jimin x reader // balletteacher!jimin x ballerina!y/n
➺ genre; balletteacher!jiminiverse!! i think there’s a fairly good balance of honk honk humour and angst and fluff in here but i could be wrong!! seulgi (once again) is a pot-stirrer and you can either love her or hate her for it!! jungkook’s cute and is a really good dance partner!!
➺ wordcount; 12.1k
➺ summary; surprisingly enough, both y/n and jimin are great at acting unaffected by their devastating breakup — it’s only when they’re reunited two weeks later in class that their nonchalant, callous composures begins to crack.
➺ what to expect; “i just think the respectable move is to wait until we’re done learning, mr. park. or would you like to continue wasting everyone’s time by singling out jungkook and i just because you’re clearly in a sour mood for no reason and seem to be enjoying using us as your emotional punching bags?”
➺ currently playing on cee.fm; need you now — lady antebellum
»»————- 🥀 ————-««
the feeling of your phone buzzing rapidly against the mattress is the thing that rouses you from yet another restless night of sleep
you kept waking up every few hours and every time you woke up you’d be awake for at least another hour before dozing back off
you’re pretty sure you fell asleep close to six in the morning and according to the clock on your bed stand it’s already 1:30 but somehow you still feel so, so groggy despite getting seven and a bit hours of sleep
you peel an eye open reluctantly, staring at the bright vibrating rectangle for a few seconds before you drag your arm up lazily to grab it because something crazy must be happening if the group chat is chirping away like this
you’ve had your phone on do not disturb for the past week (except for the few times lisa clearly hit the ‘notify anyway’ button to get your attention) so you’ve kind of been out of the loop but being present and a functioning member of society isn’t exactly the first thing on your mind
people are right when they say time just melds together when you’re going through a breakup because you honest to god do not even know what day of the week it is
“okay, what’s going on…” you mutter to yourself, voice thick with sleep as you roll over onto your back and bring your phone up to your face to unlock it
it takes you a couple of tries to get into your phone because of how bright the screen is and you curse before resorting to typing in your passcode with fumbling fingers instead
you haven’t been on your phone too much because… well, you’ve just not really been in the mood to do anything but rot in bed all day with the curtains drawn — and not to mention, every time you’re on your phone you’re just waiting for a text or a call or literally anything from jimin but unsurprisingly it’s been complete silence on his end
you’ve mostly been ordering takeout and also you’re pretty sure you went the whole day without drinking water yesterday, so all in all, it doesn’t seem like you’re handling this very well
what makes things worse is that you have class today and it’ll be approximately a week since you last saw jimin and the two of you officially ended things and seven days is simply not enough recovery time — you haven’t even accepted the fact that you can no longer call him your boyfriend and that you have to call him your ex-boyfriend now (and teacher, but it’s not like that’s anything new)
i think we should end things permanently, because i want to be in a real relationship instead of whatever the fuck this has been.
jimin’s words ring loudly in your head and you feel your eyes starting to well with tears for the trillionth time in a row as you mindlessly scroll through all the notifications that have been marinating on your phone for the past seven days
the only thing you’ve been able to focus on is replaying that last conversation with jimin in your head and it’s driving you up the wall
i never said i was ashamed to be with you, jimin.
you never had to say it for me to see it.
“god…” you mutter, reaching up to pinch the bridge of your nose in a poor attempt to stop the tears from flowing
you haven’t been able to stop thinking about jimin and what makes it harder is the fact that you can’t talk about this with anyone without exposing yourself and jimin
and as much as you love lisa, you know that if you told her she would of course be concerned about you but would also have a million questions for you and you’re just not in the mood for an interview at the moment
another thing you’ve been thinking a lot about is what would’ve happened if you grabbed the phone and called lisa when jimin told you to call your friends and tell them the truth
would he have stayed?
was that really the proof that he needed to show him that you wanted to be with him?
would that have fixed everything?
you’d still have to hide your relationship — the only difference that telling your friends would make is that mr. park would be accused of playing favourites and knowing a few of the chatterboxes in class, word would spread very fast and it probably wouldn’t take long until you get an email from the dean asking you and jimin to come and speak to him
and then either jimin would get fired or you’d be expelled and both those options sound like hell
with that being said, wasn’t it an incredibly unfair move on jimin’s part to ask you to do that for him?
what if you’d asked him to call the dean to tell him that you two were together?
given the circumstances, wouldn’t jimin be hesitant to do it as well???
well, you suppose in your scenario it’s a little less high stakes because you’d just be telling a close friend, but still… you did the right thing, didn’t you?
it was irresponsible of both you and jimin to enter into a romantic relationship when you guys are teacher and student, and you had to put an end to it before the truth eventually came out and tore the two of you apart
this was the right thing to do
now jimin can continue teaching, and you can continue learning at this very prestigious dance academy that you worked very hard to get into
plus mom and dad would probably kill you if you got expelled over something as scandalous as this
sometimes doing the right thing feels bad! and it’s okay that you feel very, very bad at the moment, because feeling bad is just a normal part of the human experience.
you let out a huff of frustration, rolling onto your back as you look up at the ceiling
…but how do you know if you did the right thing or not?
you let out a slow exhale, shaking your head as you bring your phone back up to look through all your texts
you can’t help but wince a little looking through all your missed notifications throughout the week
most of your texts are from lisa and you know she’s going to want some kind of an explanation of your disappearance
from: lisa [wednesday 9:08am] — are you okay? barely heard from you all week
from: lisa [thursday 6:23 pm] — ??
from: lisa [friday 10:32am] — y/n
from: lisa [friday 11:02am] — helloooooo some kind of indication you are alive please
from: lisa [friday 8:14pm] — okay well you’re still sending me tiktoks so ik you’re alive
your thumb goes tired from scrolling through all of lisa’s texts and you finally reach the end to see that she texted you a few minutes ago
from: lisa [1:22pm] — are you coming to class today?
your fingers pause slightly as you think about how to respond and how to act casually about the fact that you’ve been a ghost for the last week
to: lisa [1:34pm] — yes!! i’m coming
to: lisa [1:34pm] — SORRY i haven’t been responding to your texts, social battery’s been weirdly low and feeling blegh bc period but i’ll see you today mwahaha
unsurprisingly, lisa doesn’t take too long to respond because she’s always on her phone and it’s never on do not disturb-
from: lisa [1:35pm] — hmmmm okayyy hope you’re feeling a little better at least? just glad ur alive! i’ll see u later ALSO read the group chat bc omg i’m dead
from: lisa [1:35pm] — mr. park
your stomach dips a little in anxiety at the mention of mr. park because the point of looking through your texts was to distract yourself from any thoughts of jimin, but then again, why are you surprised? the girls are obsessed with him and he’s always a hot topic in the group chat
one time he showed up to class wearing a pair of jeans that made his butt look really good and it was a topic in the group chat for like a week and a half straight
you switch over to look through the group chat, scrolling up the literal hundreds of texts until you get to what’s clearly the meat of the conversation
seulgi [best ballerinas 🤍] — You guys aren’t going to believe what I heard
seulgi [best ballerinas 🤍] — Rmb how I said I’m pretty sure Miss Im and Mr Park are like meant to be
seulgi [best ballerinas 🤍] — Apparently they were out on a date this weekend
lisa [best ballerinas 🤍] — wtffff NO WAYYY wait where’d u hear it from
seulgi [best ballerinas 🤍] — One of the guys from Miss Im’s class
seulgi [best ballerinas 🤍] — He slid into my DMs after their performance 💅🏼 as he should 💅🏼 and then we were texting for a bit and he just told me that he saw them walking around downtown together lmfaooooo I totally called it
you don’t even bother reading the rest of the messages but through your frantic scrolling you manage to catch a message from seulgi teasing you directly about losing your precious mr. park and- “oh, just give me a break!” you groan obnoxiously, tossing your phone aside before flipping onto your stomach and letting out a muffled scream into your pillow
great!
good for them!
good for jimin, good for nayeon, good for the happy couple! you’ll have to make sure to ask jimin if you’re allowed to bring a plus-one to their wedding and what colour they want to paint the nursery for the child they’re going to have who’ll undoubtedly be the cutest baby on the goddamn planet-
the thought of playing hooky and calling in sick so you don’t have to go to class crosses your mind briefly, but then you remember that in order to do that, you’d have to call mr. park to let him know (one time, lisa asked jisoo if she could let him know that she wouldn’t be in class because of a bad cold, and both lisa and jisoo ended up getting mildly scolded because why are you asking your classmate to talk to me for you, and why are you talking to me on behalf of your classmate?) and needless to say, the last thing you need is to talk to jimin and pretend like the only problem you have is that you’re not feeling well and you don’t think you can come to class today
and not to mention, with this new piece of information of him and miss im going out on a date over the weekend, you don’t want him thinking that he won the breakup because you’re so heartbroken that the only thing you can do in stay in bed and cry (even though technically that’s what you’ve been doing all weekend, but whatever) — as heartbroken as you are, you’re just as stubborn so you will be going to class and you’re going to try your absolute best to keep it together… you have to.

jimin splutters after splashing icy, ball-shrivelling cold water onto his face, blindly fumbling for the towel in his duffle bag before using it to pat himself off
he looks at himself in the mirror, leaning closer and reaching up with a finger to pull at the bags under his eyes
the last time he had bags this bad was when he would stay up all night rehearsing for his own exams
there’s not enough concealer in the world to hide the bags he has now
needless to say, this breakup has completely destroyed him and this is the first time he actually has no idea to conduct himself after ending things with someone
he’s had flings and short relationships all throughout high school, undergrad, and even at the academy, and it usually only takes him a few weeks to fully flush his ex out of his system, but he can already tell that this breakup is nothing compared to those ones
sure, he was sad after his breakup with nayeon and couldn’t even force himself to get over her for much longer than he’d anticipated, but that was then and this is now — and now, he can fully say that the breakup with you is one of the most devastating things to ever have happened to him
he’s been so out of it all week that he even ordered pizza for himself on friday night instead of digging into his usual meal of [insert choice of lean protein here], roasted vegetables and brown rice… a family sized pizza
a family sized pizza!!! a pizza for an entire family!!
the only time he went out this week was saturday afternoon when nayeon texted him to ask him if he wanted to go out for coffee and also to discuss what they wanted to do for their conjoined class today
and to be honest, jimin barely remembers what they talked about that day and he’s hoping that nayeon will carry them both through today’s class because mr. park is just not mentally here at the moment
to be honest he’d kind of been dreading coming to class (can you blame him?) and he considered calling in sick and cancelling class today, but if he cancelled today, that’d mean he’d have to have an extra makeup class next week and- well, he can’t avoid seeing you forever
it’s just that he doesn’t even know if he can look you in the eye after you basically showed him that you don’t want to be with him
it’s embarrassing
he’s heartbroken and humiliated and hurt and you’re basically the only thing that’s been on his mind this whole week
admittedly it was a little selfish of him to demand you to call your friends to tell them that you were dating him
it was an unfair move on his part and he knows he acted out of emotion, but… well, he just wished that you fought harder to keep him, that’s all
and it’s true that he always felt like you were slightly embarrassed to be with him — he was never afraid to hold your hand in public and act like a normal couple but it was always a little upsetting to turn and see you cowering down or hiding behind a pair of sunglasses or baseball hat or something to conceal your identity
he knows that you only did it to protect the both of you from being exposed, but you didn’t have to hide yourself all the time
you guys couldn’t even go to restaurants without you quietly requesting for a table at the very back to avoid being seen by anyone passing by
maybe this breakup was for the best, now that he’s had a week to think about it…
sure, his relationship with you was one of the best he’s ever had and he’s pretty sure he’s head over heels in love with you and would 100% say it back if you said it to him, but hey! he’ll get over it one day
you’re his student, he’s your teacher — it was inappropriate from the start and it was irresponsible of him to pursue anything with you, so this breakup was a good thing
it never would’ve worked out in the end, and it’s better that it ended sooner or later
this was just a lesson from the universe that he had to learn, and yes, it was a very hard lesson, but he’s always been good at learning and he’s just going to take this as a sign to not get involved with another one of his students ever again!
it was silly of him to think that it would ever work out in the first place, anyway, so if anything, he should be able to move on and move on fast
easy peasy
“easy fuckin’ peasy.” jimin clears his throat quietly, running his damp fingers through his hair as he looks at his reflection in the mirror from side to side, “i’m park fuckin’ jimin. top of my class, aced all my exams, youngest and most sought after teacher at this academy,” he puffs his chest out slightly, nodding to himself as he feels his confidence coming back to him
he’s mr. park, he knows he’s hot shit!
he doesn’t need you to feel complete
he doesn’t need you at all
he hears the voice in his head let out a laugh of disbelief followed by an all-knowing alright, keep lying to yourself if this is how you’re planning on coping with this breakup and immediately shuts it out before bending down to grab his duffle bag, swinging it over his shoulder before putting a pair of thick-rimmed, square framed glasses on
he forget to order more of his contacts over the weekend so he’ll have to wear his stupid dorky ass glasses today (the memory of you telling him how much you love it when he wears his glasses flashes in his mind and he shuts it out as best as he can, but the thought of getting you flustered today in class with these glasses makes the corner of his mouth twitch in a cocky smirk.)

“wow, look who’s alive!” you jolt in surprise when lisa slings an arm around you from behind, leaning her head against yours with a grin as the two of you continue walking towards the main doors, “period cramps are brutal this month, hey?”
“yeah, it’s been- ha, not great, you know how it is-“ you press your lips together in a tight smile as you pop your airpods back into the case so you can give your friend your full attention, “sorry i… barely texted you all throughout the week, i’ve just- um-“ you clear your throat quietly, pausing for a second to think about what excuse to give lisa
you feel awful for lying to her about all of this because you know that lisa would never be upset or angry with you and is only here to help you because she’s your friend, but still… the wound is a little fresh at the moment so lying will have to do
because if you rip this bandaid off right now and she gives you that sympathetic head tilt and shoulder droop and big sad eyes combo, you are 100% not going to be able to make it through this class without completely losing your mind and you are certainly not about to burst into tears in front of your classmates
“you’ve just what?” lisa nudges your side to get your attention and you look over at her, your mouth still hanging open with no fake excuse sitting on the tip of your tongue
you’ve never really been good at thinking of things on the spot
you’ve also never been good at lying so there’s that to consider as well
“i just… i don’t know! weird mood. one of those weeks, you know?” you shrug weakly, lisa’s brow raising slightly before she purses her head and nods slowly
“no, that’s okay! i was just worried about you, that’s all. but you… know you can talk to me about anything, right?” she holds the door open for you and you offer her a meek smile, swallowing the lump in your throat as the two of you head towards the changing rooms
“yeah, i know.” you respond quietly, choosing not to say anything else after that even though you know you’re acting very suspicious and you have a feeling lisa knows you’re hiding something from her
“you excited for class today?” she changes the subject swiftly and you immediately nod even though you have no idea what’s happening in class today, “i’ve been buzzing about it all week. miss im’s boys are so fine.”
“they’re- oh, we have the, uh- they’re coming to our class today, right? we’re, like, pairing up with them or something like that, right?” you clear your throat, opening your locker door up before sitting down on the bench to take your sneakers off, “yeah, they’re all very nice to look at. that jungkook guy is nice, i follow him on instagram.”
“oh, jungkook is- mmph-“ you can’t help but giggle when lisa bites her fist, “he’s more than very nice to look at. you should ask him out. he was making googly eyes at you at mr. park and miss. im’s performance.”
the reminder of that night immediately kills the vibe and you feel your mood drop, but you focus on taking your socks off instead of thinking about i think we should end things permanently, because i want to be in a real relationship instead of-
the sound of lisa’s locker door slamming shut snaps you out of it and you turn to see that she’s already fully dressed and ready to go with her water bottle in one hand and her phone in the other, “you want me to wait for you?”
“you can go in first! i’ll be a while, i-“ you look down at yourself and your sweatpants, letting out a breath because you’re already exhausted and changing into a leotard is no easy feat, “i still have to change and then i have to pee and stuff, but i’ll see you in there.”
as soon as lisa leaves, you feel yourself slump as you lean over with your elbows on your knees, your mind immediately spacing out
you are not mentally here right now and you don’t know how you’re about to go through a two hour class where the main thing you have to do is focus otherwise you get in trouble for it
“it’s a guy.”
you immediately perk up when you realise you aren’t alone and you turn to look over your shoulder, your brows knitting together in confusion as you blink up at seulgi before looking back down at your duffle bag quickly and pretending like you were in the middle of going through it, “what are you talking about? and how the hell did you get in here so quietly??”
“it’s a guy. am i right?” seulgi sighs, ignoring your second question (though you are genuinely curious how she managed to come in without you noticing, or maybe you’re just really really checked out that you didn’t notice her at all) and plopping herself down on the bench next to you before crossing one leg over the other and crossing her arms over her chest, “that’s why you’ve been acting so off all week.”
“what are you on about?” you snort, though you can’t help but think to yourself how true it is that women are very intuitive when it comes to pretty much anything but especially when it has something to do with men
and seulgi is the best at figuring things out — especially when it comes to things that are literally none of her business like this!
“you’ve been weirdly civil with me over text when you usually bite back with something.” she raises her chin slightly, her gaze never leaving your face, “you never just sit there and take it.”
your eyes flicker slightly and you find yourself unable to look seulgi in the eye for more than two seconds before looking away, and you feel the hairs on the back of your neck prickle when she gives you that one look that screams i’m not going to stop pestering you until you tell me what drama you’re swept up in
“what makes you think that me being civil has something to do with guy problems?” you blurt out, your cheeks starting to grow pink out of anxiety because now you know that seulgi’s onto you, “also, we rarely text and talk outside of class except for when we’re out with the other girls for brunch or something. why do you care about my texting style all of a sudden?”
“well, you didn’t deny anything.” seulgi points out, and your hand immediately freezes in your bag upon the realisation that yeah, you didn’t deny anything and seulgi is definitely onto you and is also definitely right because you definitely are going through guy problems right now
but how much can you trust seulgi? you haven’t even told lisa who is arguably your best friend in the class and also the entire world
“we aren’t friends, seulgi. you don’t have to pretend like you care.” you mutter, voice wavering slightly as your eyes begin to brim with tears because this is the first time someone’s asked you if you’re okay in person and clearly you’re an emotional wreck if seulgi is the one asking and it’s making your eyes tear up
keep it together, keep it together, keep it together, you remind yourself, chewing on the inside of your cheek as you pull your leg warmers on and quickly reach up to wipe a rogue tear away before seulgi sees you crying
“so it is a guy.” seulgi hums, nodding her head to herself before clicking her teeth, “knew it. is it someone we know? was it a hookup? long time situationship? did he ghost you? have you been secretly dating someone this whole time and you just got dumped by them?”
all the blood drains from your face as you turn your head to look at seulgi with wide eyes (nearly snapping your neck in the progress), your lips parting before you quickly shut then and turn back to pull your slippers on
seulgi’s eyes widen before she blinks rapidly
no way
this whole time you’ve been dating someone?!
to be honest seulgi’s always thought you were a massive prude who would crumble at the sight of a couple holding hands in public so this is actually a pleasant surprise for her
“no fucking way!” seulgi delivers a harsh slap to your shoulder and you press your lips together, your eyes fluttering shut because fuck, the jig is up and now you have to confess to your sins to someone who cannot be farther away than good and holy, “oh my god. y/n y/l/n, you sneaky, sneaky girl. who?!”
»»————- 🥀 ————-««
“are those new leg warmers?” lisa looks over at you as you stretch beside her, and you look down at your brand new (grey, with little thunderclouds on them) leg warmers before nodding, “yet another pair for your already extensive collection…”
“well, what can i say?” you chuckle, reaching down to smooth them down a little before shrugging, “i wasn’t gonna get them, but retail therapy always makes you feel better when you’re feeling like shit.” you blurt out, looking up slightly when you realise that saying retail therapy implies that something happened in which you need to make yourself feel better
…
“retail therapy? what on earth bugged you so much that you needed to buy something?” lisa snorts, pulling her hair up into a ponytail in the mirror
“probably just dealing with the fact that she knows she’ll never be as good of a dancer as i am.” seulgi butts in, letting out a sigh before shaking her head, “it’s okay, y/n. not all of us were meant for the stage.”
“thank you for the reminder, seulgi. you keep me humble.” you joke, giving her a soft smile and acknowledging her attempt at a distraction with a little nod — you ended up telling seulgi absolutely everything in the changing rooms (but not before triple checking that nobody was around to listen, because that would’ve been a disaster for sure) because… well, it was killing you having to hold everything in! and seulgi, believe it or not, was willing to lend an ear and actually listen for a change instead of blabbing her mouth off like the know it all she is
much to your surprise, seulgi told you that she wouldn’t tell anyone about this (to be perfectly honest, seulgi thinks it was kind of sick of you to break the rules and date your own teacher, because it’s very unlike y/n y/l/n to do something as taboo as that… she has a newfound sense of respect for you because she would probably also do the same thing if she was in your position because who in their right mind wouldn’t launch themselves full speed at the chance to date mr. park?? but she’ll never tell you that because she knows it would go to your head and you would try to become best friends with her and she’s pretty sure that your relationship works better when you’re frenemies who are constantly trying to one-up each other.)
“they’re a little… gloomier than what you usually get…” lisa giggles, reaching over to jab a finger into one of the thunderclouds, “still cute, though! and it matches the weather.” you turn to glance out the window, frowning at the sight of the dark grey clouds hanging in the air as the the windows tremble from the weight of chubby raindrops smacking against it rhythmically
the weather for the past week has been absolutely dreadful and definitely hasn’t made you feel any better, but you have to admit that it was kind of relaxing laying in bed all day listening to the sound of the rain
“well, the weather is shit, but what makes me feel better is knowing that in a few minutes this room is going to flooded in an ocean of hot testosterone-“ lisa wraps her arms around herself before shimmying her shoulders with a squeal, “aren’t you guys excited?! i don’t know why you aren’t more excited that we basically get a free pass to flirt with boys for the next two hours-“
“i’ve got my eye on seokjin,” ailee chimes in, “god, i would climb him like a goddamn tree.”
“you know who’s actually built like a tree? kim namjoon. you seen those thighs of his?”
“well, i’m gonna see if i can get paired with hoseok — i’ve seen him dance, he’s super good. he does hip-hop too, the man can do it all-“
“yoongi and i already spoke last time so i’m pretty sure we’re gonna hook up in class and also out of class-“
“you guys just stay away from taehyung, because i’ve been eyeing him for so long-“
“y/n, what about you?” you feel lisa nudge your back with her foot and you spin around on your bum to face the group, “well, i don’t think i need to ask you who you want to be paired up with.”
“you seem to be convinced that jungkook was making googly-moogly eyes at me but i’m telling you that he was just being friendly-“
“oh, well- yes, jungkook was definitely making googly-moogly eyes at you and i’m pretty sure he’s going to try to get paired up with you so don’t even worry about that- i was talking about mr. park!”
“wh- what?” your eyes widen slightly and you let out a nervous laugh, “i- what- what makes you think that i- why would i get paired up with mr. park?? that’s not even- that’s not even allowed, i don’t think a student is allowed to be paired up with a teacher for an exercise like this-”
“why are you getting all flustered??” lisa laughs, reaching over to pinch your thigh, “oh my god, i was just teasing you because of the fat crush you have on mr. park, i’m not actually saying you’re going to get paired up with him, dummy-“
“even if y/n was paired up with mr. park, she’d probably clomp all over his feet.” seulgi snorts, “besides, she- oh, shit-“ she immediately gets up and you turn to see jimin walk into the room, muscle memory forcing you up from the ground so you can stand with your feet in third position with your hands behind your back next to seulgi
you feel your heart racing in your chest as the familiar smell of his cologne wafts past you and you immediately look down when he walks past you
you just hope that no one can hear how hard your heart is pounding because you would’ve appreciated some kind of warning before jimin came into the room
you’re just going to keep your head down and stay in the back of the class for this lesson, and then you’re going to slip out with the girls at the end of class as quickly as you can
“good afternoon, ladies…” jimin greets lowly as he makes his way towards the front of the room, his voice slightly raspy from the complete lack of sleep he’s gotten
he drops his duffle bag on the ground as he looks out at the godawful weather, frowning slightly because no one’s responded to him and he thought he taught you guys better than that! it seems like two weeks without class has turned you girls a little sloppy…
“i said, good afternoon, ladies…” jimin tries again, emphasising his tone before turning around swiftly with a tilt of his head, leaning back against the counter with toned arms crossed over his chest, “what’s the matter, you guys forget your manners?”
“good afternoon, mr. park!” everyone fumbles to respond to his greeting, and you find yourself barely mumbling out a barely coherent ‘afternoon’ before continuing to stand in your spot obediently
“…alright, jesus, i don’t know what the hell that was-“ jimin scoffs, shaking his head with a mild expression of disgust on his face, “maybe it’s a good thing miss im and her students are coming over today so you can see how proper students are supposed to act!” he claps his hands together before reaching into his back pocket for his phone, “miss im will be leading the class today, i’m just gonna be hanging around the back as her co-teacher, but please do your best and try not to embarrass me in front of her students. she just texted me and let me know that she’ll be here on time, so just continue warming up until they get here…”
“someone woke up on the bitchy side of bed this morning. what do you think his problem is?” lisa mutters to you as the class disperses back into doing warm-up exercises, and you shrug with one shoulder and plop back down on the ground
“i bet i know.” seulgi snorts, and you shoot her a warning look before she smirks and sends a blowing kiss in your direction
you turn your head slightly to look over your shoulder, surprised to see jimin looking right at you before his eyes flicker and he quickly turns and looks down at his phone instead
»»————- 🥀 ————-««
“now, the purpose of today’s class is just to familiarise yourself with dancing with a partner — after all, it’ll be one of the things you have to do during your exams at the end of the semester!” nayeon chirps, standing tall with her clipboard held close to her chest, “mr. park and i were dance partners, as you know… it’s also important to develop a bond with the person you’re partnered with. if there’s no bond, there’s no trust, no warmth, no chemistry, and all of that will be visible on stage through your dancing, so i cannot emphasise how important it is to really strengthen the connection you have with one another.”
“well, there’s more than one way to do that-“ taehyung mutters, the class breaking into a collection of snorts and giggles before going silent again when jimin gives them one of his signature unimpressed death glares
he’s barely spoken a word since nayeon and her boys came into the class ten minutes ago because that’s how mentally checked out he is
it’s actual torture having to be here with you standing across the room as if he doesn’t have a million questions lined up and ready to go
were you just lying when you said you loved him? did you know he was awake? did you do it on purpose to get him to become more attached to you??? did you date him so that you would be chosen for the nutcracker at the end of the year?!
he made brief eye contact with you earlier (he was staring at the back of your head and wasn’t expecting you to turn and look back at him) and he swore he was going to start tearing up when the two of you locked gazes which is why he had to look away so quickly
“i’ve paired you up randomly, so i’m just going to read your names off my list. when you hear your name, pair up with your partner and stand to the left side of the room and wait quietly until everyone’s been paired up,” nayeon clears her throat, looking down at her list, “lisa and taehyung, jisoo and seokjin, seulgi and namjoon…”
jimin resists the urge to blow his cheeks out and roll his eyes out of complete boredom as he stands next to nayeon with his arms behind his back, occasionally glancing down at her list to see how many people still have to be paired up
“-y/n and jungkook-“
he immediately perks up at the mention of your name, eyebrows furrowing when it’s followed by jungkook’s name because what the hell does nayeon mean by y/n and jungkook??
“oh, uh-“ jimin nudges nayeon’s arm, “you- you paired y/n up with jungkook? we, uh, did we… did we talk about that, or…?”
“what do you mean? i asked you if you had any preferences for partners and you told me to sort them out, don’t you remember?” nayeon whispers, using the tip of her pen to trace a line down her page before tapping right next to your name and jungkook’s name, “plus y/n’s clearly your strongest student, and jungkook is mine, so i’d like to see how they work together. i think they’ll work out quite well, they already seem to be pretty friendly with each other…”
“y/n and jungkook.”
you look up when you hear your name being called and you immediately look over at jungkook, offering him a shy smile when he beams and starts to make his way over to you
what a pleasant surprise!
you actually really like jungkook — sometimes he sends you memes on instagram or he’ll swipe up and respond to your stories, so the two of you have interacted more than a handful of times and you think he’s a pretty solid guy
and you’d be lying if you said he wasn’t handsome (and it kind of gives you an ego boost knowing that he might have a teensy weensy crush on you)
“pst- make him jealous.” you hold back a yelp when seulgi suddenly burrows her fingers into your side and you turn to glare at her
“what?”
“make. him. jealous.” she enunciates through gritted teeth, eyes flickering over to jimin before she looks over at a smiley jungkook, “nothing wrong with being a little petty.”
“what- i’m not going to make him jealous, that’s not going to solve anything-“
“it won’t solve anything, but would it be so wrong to have a little fun to make yourself feel better?”
“seulgi, i don’t like being petty and- hi!” you turn your head and greet jungkook with a bright smile, letting out a chuckle afterwards, “nice to see you again.”
“likewise! i’m glad we got paired up.” he nods, standing a little closer to you as the two of you return your attention to the front where miss. im is in the middle of giving her tips for the girls
“try not to help your partner! you kinda just have to trust them — i know it’s very tempting because you know the combination and you know what step comes next, but the best thing to do is to just keep a strong core and focus on yourself! that way, your partner can- you know, kind of put you where you need to go. so, what we’re going to have you do for this exercise is, girls, you’ll make up a short combination, tell your partner what that is, and then immediately perform it on the spot.” miss. im turns to look at jimin, “so, mr. park, do you have any tips for the boys?”
“uh, i mean…” jimin purses his lips slightly, “use your palms, not your fingers. it wouldn’t feel good for your partner to have your fingers digging into their ribcages especially. also, you’ll be able to have more control when you’re using your palms instead of lifting with your fingers. just, uh… yeah, trust in your partner.” he nods, looking over at nayeon to signal that he has nothing more to add
god, he really is out of it today
“any volunteers?” nayeon purses her lips as she looks around the class, not surprised to see that majority of you are avoiding eye contact with her (it is pretty intimidating dancing with all of your peers looking at you and judging every move, but it’s something that all of you will have to do eventually), “alright, then i’ll have to choose, since no one is taking the initiative.” she chirps, smacking her palm flat against her clipboard before turning to look right over at you and jungkook, “jungkook, y/n — would you like to come up here and demonstrate for the rest of the class?”
you feel the hairs on your arm prickle in anxiety as you stand there for a second in silence, both you and jungkook exchanging glances before you turn back to look at miss im with a meek smile, “ah- yes, miss im.”
you were expecting everyone to break out and scatter around the room instead of immediately performing in front of the class, but you suppose everyone’s already warmed up and ready to go…
“bepetty.” seulgi coughs quietly, and you turn to see jungkook holding his hand out for you to take
“shall we?” he grins, clearly very confident in your guys’ ability to impress the whole class with your little routine, “don’t worry miss im, y/n and i will try our best not to completely amaze you with our routine, but no promises…” jungkook’s comment gets a couple of laughs and you giggle lightly before taking his hand and letting him lead you to the front
“that’s easy for you to say, i’m the one who has to come up with the routine-“ you add on, the corner of your mouth lifting in a knowing smirk when jungkook lets out a laugh and a nod
his hand feels quite warm in yours and your eyes widen a little when you feel his thumb rub over your skin soothingly
“do your best!” miss im smiles, flicking the main lights off and turning the spotlight ones on as you guys get to the front, “y/n, what combination will you two be demonstrating for your peers?”
ah, shit
“i….” you’ve never been good at thinking of things on the spot, and you can’t help but look over at jimin for a split second who seems to be shooting daggers right at jungkook as he stands leaning against the wall by the door, his arms crossed over his chest and his tongue poking against the inside of his cheek before he clears his throat quietly and rubs his lips together a couple of times
his eyes are lidded slightly and to be honest, if looks could kill, jungkook would be bleeding out on the floor right about now and you can’t help but feel a little pleased at the obvious fact that jimin doesn’t like that you were paired up with jungkook and definitely doesn’t like the fact that miss im chose you and jungkook to demonstrate in front of the class
“y/n?” jungkook elbows you slightly to get your attention and you clear your throat before standing up a little straighter, sorting through all the moves that you know and trying your best to come up with a quick routine on the spot
“oh! i, uh… okay, first, i’m gonna piqué attitude to the left, tombé… uh, double stepover, and then i’ll do… ah… i’ll do… échappé-echappe… passe-passe, i… suppose i’ll do a spin and then finish in arabesque?” you smile sheepishly, looking over at miss im and jimin for validation only to get a grunt from jimin and a pleased nod from miss im
that seems like a doable combination, right?
god, you hope so
lisa shoots you a thumbs up from the audience and you clear your throat quietly, taking a few steps back and waiting for your cue as miss im lowers the spotlights slightly
the last thing you see before the lights dim is jimin’s furrowed brows and clenched jaw and you press your lips together in order to suppress a grin
»»————- 🥀 ————-««
“wonderful job, you two. impeccable!” nayeon claps her hands gently along with the rest of the class, a proud smile on her face as she nudges jimin with her elbow, “see, what’d i tell you? the two of them fit together like two puzzle pieces, don’t you think?”
“yep.” jimin licks over his front teeth in irritation when he notices the way jungkook’s hand lingers on the small of your back (a little too low for his liking, and if he was grading jungkook for an exam he’d immediately dock off a point for hand placement alone) as the two of you bow/curtsey at the front to thank your classmates for the applause and he feels his blood beginning to boil when he sees the shy little smile on your face and the blush spreading across your cheeks when jungkook whispers something in your ear
what the fuck is he saying to you that’s making your cheeks red??
“you have something you want to share with the class, jungkook?” jimin blurts out right before he can even process that he’s blurted something out, his hand instinctively reaching over to smack the main lights back on
the light switching back on so suddenly makes a few of you flinch and you reach up instinctively to shield your eyes, a little puzzled by what the problem is
jimin is completely unbothered as he looks at jungkook and tilts his head, “well? if you can whisper it to y/n, you can share it with everyone.”
you and jungkook exchange glances of confusion
“oh, i-“ jungkook stands up a little taller and jimin can’t help but feel drunk on power because of how intimidated he looks right now, “i just said that she did a really good job, mr. park, that’s all. a-and that she looks very pretty when she’s focused.”
“interesting. well, i don’t think that’s a very appropriate comment to make to your peer,” jimin responds immediately, shaking his head before looking over at nayeon, “miss im, you need to control your hormonal students-“
“woah, my boys aren’t the hormonal ones here-“ nayeon scoffs, and jimin’s eyes widen in offence at the dig at you guys even though he technically made the first jab (and also, nayeon’s probably right about that because he’s seen the way you guys look at him and has also heard many of things said about him), “and it’s perfectly fine to compliment a peer! maybe keep the second half of your comment for after class, but don’t listen to grumpy mr. park, you two — again, great job, you can go back to your spots.”
awkward, scattered applause makes its way around the room as you and jungkook return to your spots, and lisa gives you a look that says “what was that??? we’re definitely talking about this later” to which you respond with a quick shrug as you pass by her
“okay…” miss im clears her throat quietly, letting out an uncomfortable chuckle before flipping to the next page on her clipboard, jimin following close behind her as the two of them head back to the front of the room, “let me see… jisoo, seokjin, can you guys come up next?”
“i’m sorry if i- if i made you uncomfortable with my comment, y/n, i really didn’t mean to-“ jungkook whispers, and you shake your head quickly as you look up at him with a frown
“no, not at all! it was very sweet of you-“ you reassure him, reaching down to give his hand a squeeze, “really, it was very kind of you to say. and you did a great job as well- sorry i almost stepped on your foot when i-”
“oh, that’s- no, it was really all you, i basically just followed you and made sure to spin you and stuff-“
“jungkook!” jimin’s voice is crisp and it makes you stand straight up as you turn your head to look back at the front, “talking again while your peers are getting ready to perform up front?”
jungkook’s face turns bright red and he shakes his head quickly, “i- no, sir, i’m- i wasn’t-“
“i talked to him first, so if you’re going to bark at someone, you should do it at me-“ you raise your hand to get jimin to look over at you before giving him a casual shrug, “my bad.”
“‘your bad’?” jimin repeats with air quotations, narrowing his eyes at you and almost daring you to continue speaking to him in such a casual tone when you know he’s made it very clear how important it is to speak to him formally when it’s class time, “well, is there something that you’d like to share with the class since it was so important you had to speak to jungkook about it right now?”
“just that he did a fantastic job and he looked incredibly handsome doing it,” you chirp, maintaining a smile on your face, “i also said that we did completely amaze everyone with our routine because i guess we just fit together so, so well and- well, the second half of my comment, i’ll say to him when the two of us are outside of class, as miss im suggested.”
your comment doesn’t get any snickers, which isn’t a surprise considering the fact that everyone is probably terrified of how angry jimin looks — but honestly, you have no idea why he seems to be picking on you and jungkook but you have a feeling it has something to do with the breakup
and when you think about that, you can’t help but get more infuriated because can’t he see that he benefits from you breaking up with him?! now he’s free to date whoever he wants to date
like he said, he can be in a real relationship instead of whatever the fuck the two of you were in
not to mention, you haven’t brought your personal feelings into the situation the same way he has (this is a lie, you are definitely acting on your emotions right now but the denial is slathered on thick today) so what makes him think that he has the right to treat you and jungkook like shit just because he’s all pissy?!?!
“i’d like to pull y/n out to talk to her for a moment.” jimin immediately turns to look at naeyon with his hands behind his back, nayeon frowning as she looks back and forth between him and you, “now please, miss im. we won’t be long.”
“well, can you wait until we’re done?” you pipe up, and that gets you a little stomp on the toes from seulgi because now you’re just doing too much but the rage that’s building inside of you from having jimin clearly picking on both you and jungkook is becoming unbearable, “i just think the respectable move is to wait until we’re done learning, mr. park. or would you like to continue wasting everyone’s time by singling out jungkook and i just because you’re clearly in a sour mood for no reason and seem to be enjoying using us as your emotional punching bags?”
the silence is almost palpable, both you and jimin glaring at each other from across the room as everyone stands silently, awkwardly, because what the absolute fuck is going on right now?
jimin’s eyes have gone completely dark and if it weren’t for the fact that he used to be your boyfriend, you would probably be terrified for basically cussing out your teacher in front of the whole class — but the scale feels balanced now because the current conversation taking place doesn’t seem at all like a mr. park vs miss. y/l/n interaction… this is a jimin vs y/n interaction.
“leave this classroom right now.” jimin says through gritted teeth, his voice eerily low and quiet as he continues staring at you without a single blink, “right fucking now, y/n.”
“no problem.” you snap, swiftly moving your way through the crowd and heading straight for the door, your fists clenched at your sides
you let the door slam shut behind you, angry tears beginning to brim at the edges of your eyes as you storm down the hallway towards the changing rooms so you can get your bags and go home
you shouldn’t have come to class today — you knew that seeing jimin would be too much for you and now look at where it’s gotten you!
openly disrespecting jimin not just in front of the girls but also in front of miss im’s boys, which probably mortified jimin because he prides himself on how well-behaved you guys are whenever you’re paired up with students from another class… you have a feeling this isn’t going to end well at all.
the thought of being grilled not just by jimin but also the dean of the school sends a lightning bolt of anxiety right into you and your brain immediately begins to conjure up an email of what you’re going to say in your apology letter because that’s the type of student you are, not whoever you were just a second ago
you just couldn’t help yourself!! you’re running on an inconsistent sleep schedule and you haven’t been eating right and you’ve barely been drinking water and you’re sad about the breakup and mad at the circumstances and also feeling a little bit like maybe you acted too hastily in the first place and should’ve communicated with jimin about how you were feeling and what you were insecure about instead of diving head first into the whole crazy jealous girlfriend act and driving him away
and now it seems to be your ego and your pride standing in the way of making you turn around and just talk to jimin because walking away and accepting that this is just the way things are is the much easier option
“so stupid,” you sniffle, reaching up to wipe away a stray tear as your bottom lip starts to tremble
you’ve ruined everything
“hey, i didn’t say you could leave-“ you glance over your shoulder when you hear jimin’s voice as you continue making your way down the stairs, but you pick up your pace when you see him starting to follow you, “y/n, i swear to god-“
“i’m going home, i’m clearly not in the right state of mind to be here right now, mr. park-“
“oh, don’t give me that bullshit, y/n-“ jimin snaps, “i think you and i both know we’ve been avoiding each other but we need to talk because your behaviour today isn’t coming out of nowhere-“
“i’m sorry for talking back to you in class, but you were clearly picking on jungkook and i and i was so fucking over it-“ you swing the main door open, sneakers squeaking against the linoleum when you come to a sudden stop after seeing how heavy the rainfall is
you contemplate staying and waiting until the rain calms down a little but the thought of having to stay and talk to jimin is just a little too much for you at the moment
“it’s raining out and you don’t have an umbrella, you big baby-“ jimin changes the subject when thunder suddenly rumbles from outside, stopping at the top of the stairs to look at you, “what are you gonna do, walk in the rain?!”
“if that’s what i wanted to do, then i have every right to do so!”
you came here by bus and you know it doesn’t come for another twenty minutes, meaning that not only are you going to have to walk in the rain to the bus stop, you’ll also have to wait in the rain until it comes and that’s just a recipe for the nastiest cold in the entire world
and the thought of having to nurse a horrible cold and nurse your poor heart sounds like a nightmare
“y/n, i know you’re upset but you’re being irrational-”
“so what if i wanna walk in the rain?!” the emotional side of your brain takes over as you glare up at jimin before storming towards the doors, “i’m an adult, i can make my own decisions-“
“i know you are, and i know you can, but, y/n, please-“ jimin grabs the back of your arm right as you get to the bottom of the stairs and you immediately fling his arm away, “just talk to me, please-“
“about what?!” you adjust the strap of your duffle bag over your shoulder, “we broke up, it’s for the better, you’re my teacher and i’m your student and we never should’ve started dating in the first place because it never would’ve worked out anyway and-“ before you know it, everything is coming out of you and you can’t find a way to stop or control the words coming out of your mouth, “and i think maybe i shouldn’t come to class for a few weeks because it’s going to be weird and i can’t- i can’t be in the same room as you, jimin, it’s killing me-“
“it’s killing me, too-“ jimin admits softly, brown eyes glistening slightly underneath the lights, “i just- i can’t stop thinking about you, and i- baby, i- i miss you so much, you have no idea-“ your eyes immediately well with tears and you shake your head quickly as you take a few steps back, pushing the door open and stumbling out while unable to tear your gaze away from jimin’s, “please, we can figure something out, i know we can. i know i want to be with you, y/n, i don’t want anyone else, i just want you-“ his voice tremors slightly and he reaches out for you, “and i didn’t mean it when i called our relationship nothing, i was just hurt and- and angry and- i don’t even know why we broke up-“
“you should be with nayeon, she’s better for you and-“ you lower your voice slightly, “i know you went out with her over the weekend, so-“
“went out with her??” jimin gawks, almost letting out a laugh of disbelief, “we met up for coffee to talk about the lesson plan for today- don’t think i didn’t hear what everyone was muttering about before class, you guys need to cut the gossiping and- oh my god, y/n, is that what this is about?? you think i want to be with nayeon? we broke up for a reason, you- this is so incredibly frustrating, y/n, why can’t you just believe me when i say that i want to be with you?!”
everything that’s coming out of jimin’s mouth makes you feel ten times worse knowing that the two of you can’t be together
“this is why we need to sit down and talk about things, be honest and give each other our side of the story, because clearly something’s been miscommunicated and-“
“it doesn’t matter, jimin, at the end of the day, even if we talk about what happened we still can’t be together-“
“we can, we just- we can figure something out-“ the overwhelming reminder that you’ll have to tell the dean and all your classmates and face judgement and be gossiped about on top of the already overwhelming emotion of seeing and talking to jimin is just too much for you to bear, and you find your heart skipping more than a few beats out of anxiety because the only thing on your mind right now is to run away and hide from all of this
“i can’t be here, i have to go home, i can’t be here right now-“ you whimper, turning around to head into the rain, “you just- we can’t be together, jimin-“
“y/n-!” the last thing you hear before you sprint out into the dark, misty rain is the sound of jimin crying out for you and you can’t help but burst into tears, covering your mouth with your hand to muffle your sobs
run away run away run away run away
water splashes up and around you at every step you take, adrenaline coursing through your veins as you keep running down the sidewalk with your duffle bag flopping behind you wildly
this is too much
everything is just too much
you just need to go home and then everything will be fine
it doesn’t matter that jimin wants to work on things with you (it does, because you do, too), it doesn’t matter that he wants to find a way to make things work (it does, because you do, too), it doesn’t matter that he’s clearly stated that he wants to be with you and not nayeon (it does, because it reassures you and now you really know that jimin just wants you and you know that you just want him too) because all that matters is that everything is too much to handle and you feel like your head is about to explode
“so what am i supposed to do then?!” the sound of jimin’s voice down the street immediately makes you stop and turn around, and you’re glad that it’s raining like this to mask the tears streaming down your face
you aren’t surprised that he’s caught up to you, and you stand still as you look at him standing across from you, all the way at the end of the block, “what the FUCK am i supposed to do, y/n, huh?!” he yells, grabbing a fistful of his shirt and pounding against his chest a few times, “you want me to stand here and act like i don’t love you?! like we never happened?! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?!”
“i…”
“tell me that’s what you want and i’ll leave it alone, y/n. all you have to do is tell me that this is what you want.” your feet are stuck in place as jimin jogs right over to you and you resist the very strong urge to look away from him again but he just looks so sad and you hate yourself for doing this to him
“it was wrong of me to pressure you to tell your friends about us the way that i did, i know that.” jimin nods, slicking his hair back with a hand, “i fucked up, and i’m sorry for doing that. but i meant it when i said i wanted to be in a proper relationship, y/n, because i want to be able to hold your hand in public, i wanna take you out for dinners without constantly feeling like we’re going to get caught, i- i want to show you off! i wanna show you off because i… i love you, y/n…”
jimin shakes his head in disappointment when your only response is to stand there, staring at him with wide, trembling eyes
he waits one, two, three seconds for you to say something, to say literally anything and he hates that you still have nothing to say to him
even if you said you didn’t want to be with him, that would be a better response than you just standing there staring at him
forget it
obviously you’ve made your answer clear, and now he knows that he was 100% more invested in you than you were in him
if you want him to pretend like he doesn’t care about you and that you’re just another one of his students, he’s perfectly capable of doing that
he was a little out of control today, but he’ll be able to manage it in future classes
the thought of transferring you to another teacher’s class briefly flits through his mind but he’s reminded by the fact that he’d have to talk to the dean about that and then the dean would have to ask why jimin wants to transfer you and that’d just be a whole thing
plus, the semester’s nearly over so pretty soon jimin won’t have to be forced to be in the same room with the woman he loves but he can’t say he loves
it’s going to fine
everything is going to be fine
he’s been broken up with before, and he’s picked himself up and has moved on
he can do this
“fine, y/n.” he scoffs to himself, turning on his heel to head back towards the building, “if that’s what you want, i can’t change your mind. i’m sorry. i won’t push it any further.”
“i was gonna talk to the dean!”
jimin stops in his tracks when you finally speak up, and he turns to look over his shoulder to see that you’ve taken one step forward but hesitating to come any closer to him like a scared baby deer
he doesn’t move, afraid that if he moves too quickly he might scare you off and stop you from what you’re about to say
“what?” he asks quietly, turning around to face you and relieved to see that you don’t seem like you’re about to take off again
“i was- i was gonna talk to the dean.” you repeat quietly before averting your gaze, “i’d made an appointment and everything, i was gonna talk to the dean about us because i- i love you… too.” you blurt out, looking back up at him, “i love you too, but i’m… scared.”
“scared of someone finding out?”
“well, that’s a pretty big chunk of it because i could get expelled and you could get fired, but i’m also scared because… the last time i felt this way about someone, they left me for their ex six months after we said i love you to each other.” you swallow thickly, feeling slightly ashamed and embarrassed to admit that about yourself since it’s not something you like to bring up, “i… if there is even a 1% chance of you and nayeon getting back together, i don’t want any part of it. and i know that’s unfair of me to say because life happens and i get it but-” you whimper, feeling your heart splinter at the reminder of how broken up you were over your previous relationship, “as much as i love you and i want to work on things with you, i don’t wanna be hurt again-“
“you won’t be, y/n-“
“you don’t know that-“
“but i do!” jimin drops to his knees, looking up at you from the ground as he keeps his hands firm on the sides of your thighs, “baby, i do know that- i don’t know what crazy rumour you guys cooked up but i’m not secretly in love with nayeon- i wanna be with you, please, please just give us a chance to make it work-“
“i’m still your student, jimin…” you sniffle, reaching up to wipe at your red eyes, “all of this doesn’t change the fact that you are my teacher and i am your student, and the both of us never should’ve started doing this in the first place-“
“i’ll talk to the dean about getting you transferred to another class, or- or i can transfer to another class- i will make it work, y/n, we can make this work.”
you chew on the inside of your cheek anxiously as you look down at jimin, jimin who you’re hopelessly in love with, jimin who you love waking up next to and falling asleep beside, jimin who wakes you up with kisses on the face and a mug of tea (you hate tea, you just drink it because it’s him), jimin who you know you want to be with because it’s been so long since you’ve felt so strongly and so surely about someone and… well, it’s jimin.
“okay.” you nod slowly, reaching down to cup his cheek gently before swiping your thumb against his skin, “okay, we can make it work. i wanna make this work, but i think the first thing we have to do is talk to the dean because i don’t know how much longer i can hide it from everyone-!” you don’t get much of a chance to say anything else before jimin’s shooting up from the ground, pulling you in for a kiss as your duffle bag drops to the ground
“oh my god, i missed you so much, you have no idea how much-“ jimin murmurs against your lips, his arm looping around your waist to pull you in closer, while your arms sling around his neck and your fingers curl into the hair at the back of his head
“i missed you too-“ you laugh lightly, heart thrumming happily in your chest as you find yourself pressing closer into jimin’s familiar warmth, “we can make this work.”

So Antonio continues with his behavior and at home he can finally spoil you in all the right ways ? 🥵🔥
Pairings: Antonio Dawson x Intelligence!Reader
Warnings: angst, fluff, smut
Masterlist
First Installment: From Colleagues to Lovers
Second Installment: Gossip and Glances
Third Installment: Flirting with Risk
A/N: Thank you to the anon who sent this in! @talesofreading and @imagine-all-the-fandoms here is another smutty one for you!
You and Antonio have been dating for 3 months now but to you it felt even longer. Everybody at work knew that you two were together because of him wincing when he leaned up against the back of his chair and hissed. The men pried it out of Antonio and the girls pried it out of you when they dragged you to the locker room. The only person that didn't know, or at least you thought didn't know, was your boss Hank Voight. When nobody was around or it was just your coworkers you two were pretty handsy but the minute you heard Hank you both straightened and acted like nothing happened, although when you looked over to Antonio, he just smirked at his computer screen and you rolled your eyes but smirked as well.
Recently though he has been flirting with risk and to be honest so have you but he was the worst. It was one time during a briefing that he was the worst. He stood extra close to you and his hand would occasionally pump yours and you did it right back. Antonio slowly moved his hand across the desk and onto your back at first that didn’t bother you but when he got down to your ass and he lightly slapped it which made you jump a little and squeal not expecting it, you covered it with a cough “Are you alright Y/N?” Hank asked you and you nodded.
“Sorry it was just a little tickle. Please continue.” You said and he nodded and turned towards the board and you briefly turned your head and glared at your boyfriend who was just smirking and eating up the attention. You turned back to the briefing but caught the eye of the girls who were smirking and you rolled your eyes but continued to listen.
“Antonio and Y/N I want you to go and check out the coffee shop owner.” Hank said and you both nodded and then he gave everyone else their assignments. Antonio and you went to your desk and grabbed your things and he opened the gate and held out a hand signaling you to go first which made you smile and as you were walking by, he patted your ass and you turned and looked at him with a glare. You quickly hurried down the stairs with him behind you. When you both got in the car you smacked him on the arm and he jerked back.
“Aww what was that for?” He asked and you looked at him in disbelief as he rubbed his arm.
“That was for almost getting us caught!” You shouted at him and he smirked.
“You liked it though.” He said with a smirk and started the engine.
“Yes, I did but we have to be more careful. We don’t want Hank to know.” You said and he smirked.
“How can I resist when you look so damn irresistible?” He asked as he stopped at a stoplight and leaned over and kissed your neck but gently nibbled on it and it made you moan. You just happened to look up and the light was green.
“Tonio light green.” You moaned out and he turned away from you, you whimpered when he pulled away but he needed to focus on the road. His hand came over the console to hold yours and you gladly accepted it. Meeting with the coffee shop owner was quick and easy and surprisingly you got a lot of information and then you were headed back to the district. Nobody was there having still been out and you made sure Hank wasn’t there and when you confirmed that he wasn’t you grabbed Antonio’s belt loops and pulled him over to you as you leaned on the desk. Your lips met in a feverish kiss and then your tongues were battling for dominance and teeth were clashing against teeth, his hands went to your face and into your hair. It would’ve gone on until he ended up taking you right then and there but a throat clearing made you stop and turn to the top of the stairs. Kevin, Adam, Kim, Jay, and Erin were standing there smirking.
“Oh, don’t stop on our account.” Kevin said and got a hit to the chest but Kim. You were blushing like mad that you got caught but Antonio was smirking like he was proud that you two had gotten caught.
“Get a room.” Adam said
“Don’t tempt us.” You said finally finding your voice and everyone laughed as everyone scattered to their desks, you went to your desk and began working and Antonio came up behind you and watched you work since. He was super close, close enough you could smell his cologne the both of you talked about the case and getting input from your team members when you voiced your findings. It wasn’t very long until Hank was coming up and you were pushing your boyfriend away but he stayed close. You always feared that Hank would find out and then there would be consequences. Hank walked into the bullpen and you pushed Antonio away secretly. He walked back to his desk and began working.
It had been a few hours and you wanted, no need, something to eat and drink so you went to the break room. You were bent over looking through the fridge when you felt someone behind you and then hands on your waist, you knew who it was. Lips quickly found yours as you grabbed some food that was in the fridge and walked over to the counter, you moved your neck to the side “What are you doing, sexy?” He asked in your ear and you turned your head and gave him a kiss.
“Getting something to eat, handsome.” You said when you pulled away. “We could get caught.” You said as he kissed you again.
“It’s a risk I’m willing to take.” He said but then there was a knock on the door and you once again knocked him away and turned towards your food while Antonio turned to the person leaning on the counter.
“You’re lucky it wasn’t Hank.” Jay said as he walked into the break room. “You two are flirting with risk.” He said and then you turned towards him, taking a bite of your food.
“I keep telling him that but he won’t listen.” You said and elbowed Antonio in the stomach and he let an ‘oof’ Jay just smirked.
“Just be careful you two.” He said and you nodded and then you were walking back out to the bullpen while Antonio stayed to talk to Jay, he watched you walk away with a smirk on his face.
It was in the middle when Hank appeared. “I wanna talk to you two.” He said then turned to walk into his office and you looked at Antonio with a scared look on your face and he shook his head and walked over to you.
“You don’t have to worry about anything. I’m right here with you.” He whispered and you nodded. You both walked into Hank’s office as the others watched with smiles. Hank was leaning on his desk, arms crossed as you both walked in and stood in front of him like kids who got caught stealing something, your head was down and hands interlocked with each other and Antonio was standing close to you.
“I know you two are together.” Hank said and your head shot up.
“You do?” You asked and looked at Antonio with a shocked look on your face and he did to then you looked back and Hank and he nodded.
“It wasn’t hard to figure out.” He said
“How?” You asked, still trying to process everything.
“It was easy. You both are coming at the same time if not a second to a minute after each other, when it used to be 1 hour after each other. You both defend each other. You both protect each other and yes, I know your partners but this goes past just being partners. You both stand closer to each other during briefings. Also, you both disappear pretty much at the same time.” Hank said and smirked when your mouth fell open and Antonio had an unreadable expression on his face.
“How long have you known?” Antonio asked
“Since the day you both showed up at the same time and Y/N was wearing your hoodie.” Hank said “Just as long as you both keep it professional you can stay together but once your love life starts interfering with your work then we'll be having a totally different conversation.” He added, " Understood?” He asked you and Antonio, both of you nodded.
“Understood.” You both said at the same time and Hank nodded. You both walked back out and Kevin was the first one to speak up.
“So…. what happened?” He asked
“He knows.” Antonio said “But that just means that I can be loving to my girl now here.” He said and hugged you from behind and gently squeezed you. You shook your head and then you both got to work although he kept his antics up and now that Hank knew you started to get handsy yourself and Antonio ate it up.
When you were done for the day, you were ready to go home and finish what you both started. “You guys coming to Molly's?” Erin asked.
“No, we're going to stay in.” You said and she smirked.
“Don't have too much fun.” Kim said and you threw a paper ball at her and she ducked while she laughed. You grabbed your stuff and then joined Antonio at the top of the stairs and began to descend down them.
“Have a good night you two.” She said with a smirk and you flipped her off. You both walked to Antonio's car silently and got in.
“Now he knows and we can do anything we want.” He said gripping your chin lightly and kissing you.
“We have to keep it professional, Tonio.” You said when you broke away from the kiss.
“We will, when others are around but when they're not then you're all mine.” He said and you smiled and nodded he had released your chin.
“You're all mine too.” You said and kissed him “Now let's get home and maybe we can continue this.” You said with a smirk and a wink. He pulled a face and groaned then before you knew it you, he was speeding out of the parking lot and towards his apartment.
When you arrived at the apartment, he was quick to park and you both hurriedly walked in and got on the elevator. You pressed the all too familiar number and once you were sure the doors were closed you were quick to kiss him. It took him by surprise but he quickly followed the kiss. He was quick to turn you around so that your back was on the elevator wall. “Jump.” He said in a husky voice and you quickly did as you were told. You wrapped your arms around his neck and legs around his waist. “You're so beautiful.” He said when he pulled away and looked you in the eye. Then you brought his lips to yours as the elevator dinged. The kiss broke and you looked over to see you were on your floor. He didn't put you down, he instead walked with you clinging to him and went back to kissing you, you could feel how hard he was through his jeans and you had no doubt that you were soaking wet.
“I need you, Tonio. Need you so bad.” You said as he stopped at his door and dug out his key and he broke the kiss to be able to see what he was doing.
“Soon, Baby. Soon.” He said and unlocked the door and pushed it open then he shut it with his foot and locked it blindly. “Can't wait to get you out of these clothes and see all of your sexy body.” He said against your neck and you clenched around nothing and you moaned. He walked to his bedroom with you wrapped around his body and still having a heavy make out session. Antonio gently put you on the bed and then crawled up your body after having removed his shirt and pants leaving him in his underwear that was tented with his erection and you could feel your mouth water. You would love to get your mouth around him but he had other plans as he started to undress you. When he was done you were completely naked and exposed to him and he sat back on his knees and just stared at you.
“Like what you see?” You asked and that damn smirk popped up on his face.
“Absolutely.” He responded and he was quick to shed his underwear and have them join the pile on the ground. He didn’t waste any time by giving himself one pump and then he was hovering over your body. You could feel him at your entrance. “Remember to tell me to stop if something isn’t right.” He said and you nodded and then he was slowly pushing into you, both moaning at the same time.
“Fuck. Feels so good.” You moaned out as he halted and letting you adjust. After a minute you looked at him and nodded “Move.” You said and he obeyed. He set a slowly steady pace filling you just right and hitting you in the right places and the all-familiar stretch was perfect.
“Fuck, always so tight for me. Such a good girl. Gonna marry you one day and pump a kid into you, our perfect little family.” He said not knowing what effect it had on you. All you did was moan as you started to close.
“Faster, baby. Faster.” You said and he picked up his pace. “Feels so good!” You screamed out not caring who heard “Wanna have your kids and be your wife.” You moaned out, head thrown back and fingers digging into his shoulder blades and slowly making their way down his back. Antonio hissed from the pain but didn’t stop.
“I’m close, baby.” He moaned out and as his thrusts started to get sloppy.
“I’m close too.” You said he dropped his head into the crook of your neck and you could feel his hot breath on your neck. His grunting and moaning were bringing you to the edge. “Cum with me.” He said as one of his hands came down to your clit as the other stayed by your head. He started to rub your sensitive clit and you felt his thrusts become even more sloppier. His head went down to your breasts and started to give them attention equally.
“I’m gonna cum.” You moaned out a warning and that just seemed to make him pick up speed. That rubber band in your stomach snapped and you were cumming hard. You heard him moan out and stilled and you both came together. As you both came down from your highs he slowly pulled out and watched his cum leak out of you and smiled and then fell on the other side of you. You both just laid there. “You really mean it?” You asked him, looking at him.
“Hmmm?” He asked
“About marrying me and making me a mom and you a dad.” You said reminding him. He turned to you and propped up on his elbow.
“One of these days.” He said and you smiled.
“I would love that, you know.” You said and he smiled.
“I love you.” He said and kissed you.
“I love you too.” You said and then you both got under the covers and fell asleep cuddled together thinking about what the future has to hold. You couldn’t wait to marry him and be the mother to his kid.

the shakespeare exhibit - part 2
pairing: tara carpenter x reader
summary: in which you and tara go on your first date
warnings: none
word count: 1600+
author's note: more museum tara :D i am begging someone to take me on a shakespeare in the park date
previous part | next part
“Shakespeare in the park?” Tara asked as she stared at the outdoor stage, a few actors in costume bustling around and getting ready before the play started. Who would willingly choose to be in one of these things? she thought. She looked at you, her eyebrows furrowed. “Really?”
“Yeah,” you said, shrugging. You shoved your hands into your back pockets and tilted your head at her. “What, not into it?”
“Well, when you said you wanted to plan the first date, this definitely wasn’t what I was expecting,” she admitted, glancing at the surrounding bleachers. It was surprisingly crowded, and she tensed at the thought of anyone she knew seeing her there. Then again, who the hell do I know that likes Shakespeare? Her attention shifted back to you, a small smile on her face. I can only deal with one Shakespeare nerd.
You chuckled and hung your head. “I’m sure this isn’t what you’re used to.”
She looped her arm through yours, pressing herself into you a bit. “It’s not, but I can dig it.”
“You don’t have to lie, Tara,” you said. “I know you don’t like this stuff.”
“I mean, no, I really don’t, but you do, so it’s fine.”
You shook your head and bit back a smile as you looked at her. “We’re not actually doing this for the date, by the way.”
“Oh, thank god!” Shit, did I just say that out loud? She looked up at you sheepishly, but you were simply staring back at her with a soft grin, no offense or annoyance on your face. “I--sorry.”
“It’s cool.” You started to lead her away from the park, her arm still looped through yours. “Trust me, even I’m not nerdy enough for Shakespeare in the park.”
“Are you sure about that?” she asked. “Because the guy at the front knew you by name.”
Pink spread across your cheeks. “That’s…not important.” You turned to her, mischief in your eyes and a teasing smirk pulling at your lips. “Besides, I just wanted to see what you’d do if I brought you here, and, apparently, you’re enough of a simp to go along with it.”
Tara’s mouth dropped open, her eyes wide in disbelief. “What? I’m not a simp!”
You laughed and bumped your shoulder against hers. Butterflies sprang up like vultures in Tara’s stomach at the action. “Two seconds ago, you were literally agreeing to sit through a random Shakespeare play, and we both know you don’t like Shakespeare.”
“So? That doesn’t mean I’m a simp!”
“Tara, you told me yourself that you only watch She’s the Man for Amanda Bynes and 10 Things I Hate About You for Julia Stiles, and those are two of the most iconic modern renditions of Shakespeare.” You pulled your arm away from hers and instead wrapped it around her shoulders, bringing her closer to you. “So, the very fact that you were willing to watch an actual Shakespeare play is quite telling about your simpness.”
Damn it. She got me. “Whatever,” she huffed, her arm slipping beneath the backpack that you were wearing and sliding to hang around your waist. Her fingers drummed against a belt loop of your pants. “What are we actually doing, then?”
You pointed ahead of you. “Why don’t you take a look for yourself?”
Tara glanced forward, her eyebrows knitted together until she realized what you were talking about. The two of you were walking toward a park where there was a large projector screen set up, The Babadook title showing ominously on the front of it. There were a few other couples sprawled out on the grass, though not many, and the grin that spread across her face couldn’t be held back even if she tried.
"The Babadook in the park sounds much better than Shakespeare in the park,” she said, and you laughed.
“I thought this might be more up your alley.” You unraveled yourself from her and slipped away, just enough so that you could intertwine your fingers with her own. “Plus, I might’ve gotten a little hint about your favorite movie from your friend Mindy in my Romanticism course,” you confessed.
Mindy?! “You know Mindy?” she asked.
You nodded. “We’ve done a few projects together.” You wormed your way out of your backpack and tossed it onto the grass. “And then I guess you must’ve talked about me because she told me she knew about our upcoming date literally the day after you and I met,” you said, your voice light.
Tara could feel herself blush up to her ears. I’m going to kill her. “Shut up,” she muttered.
You kneeled down and unzipped your bag, pulling a blanket out of it. “Don’t be embarrassed,” you said, glancing back at her with a stupidly-adorable smile. Stop being so damn cute, she thought. “It’s endearing.”
She groaned and ran a hand down her face. “Shut up, please!”
“Okay, okay,” you conceded, unfolding the blanket and trying to lay it down flat on the grass. “I’ll stop if you help me with this.”
“Oh! Right. Coming.” She hurried to the other end of the blanket and grabbed it, helping you set it down in the right way. Once it was finally flat, after many failed attempts--“we’re not very good at this, are we?” you giggled at one point, to which Tara simply wanted to melt into a puddle--she flopped down ungraciously with a sigh. “That was a lot of work,” she huffed.
You chuckled as you sat beside her. “Good thing we get to do nothing except be scared for the next hour and a half.” You reached for your bag and Tara watched as you turned it upside down, a mountain of different candy falling out of it. “And also, of course, eat snacks.”
She gasped. “You got Twizzlers!”
“Well, duh. They’re the best movie snack.”
Tara looked up at you, internally cringing at the fact that she knew she had the cheesiest, shit-eating grin on her face, though she couldn’t help it as she thought, Fuck, this girl is perfect.
* * *
“I don’t understand how that could be one of your favorite movies,” you said as you walked along the sidewalk, Tara’s hand in your own. You shivered. “That shit gave me the heebie-jeebies.”
Tara chuckled. “The heebie-jeebies? Seriously?” she teased.
You turned to her, a faux-offended frown on your face. “I swear, Tar, I’m literally going to see the Babadook in my nightmares tonight, and I’m gonna blame it on you.”
Tara could feel her knees practically buckle beneath her as the nickname rolled off your tongue, but she knew she had to keep playing into the bit. “Hey!” She raised her freehand in surrender. “You chose to take us to see this movie. You can only blame yourself.”
You huffed. “Well, trust me when I say that I never would’ve watched that if you weren’t a horror movie fanatic.”
She hummed and leaned against you. “Looks like I’m not the only simp here, huh?”
“I hate it here,” you mumbled jokingly. You glanced at her. “Maybe I should just leave you out here instead of walking you home.”
“You wouldn’t dare!”
You smiled. “You’re right. I wouldn’t.”
Tara giggled. “I’ve got you wrapped around my finger.”
“Woah, now. I don’t know if I’d go that far. I mean, let’s not forget the Shakespeare in the park--”
“Never talk about Shakespeare in the park again,” she interrupted. “Ever.” She thought for a second; then, “And don’t you dare tell Mindy I was willing to watch it.” I’d never hear the end of it from her.
“I’ll agree to that on one condition,” you said as Tara slowed to a stop, her apartment building looming ahead. As much as she was tempted to invite you inside, she could see the light on in the living room and knew that Sam was waiting for her—and, if not just Sam, then all of her friends.
She turned to you, your hands clasped between your bodies. “And that is?”
“A second date?” you asked shyly, and Tara squeezed your hand softly, a giggle falling from her lips.
“I didn’t even think that was a question,” she said.
Your eyes lit up and you stood a little straighter at her response, a grin blossoming on your face. “Oh, good!” You fumbled with her hand for a minute before saying, “Well, I’ll text you then.”
This fool… She bit her bottom lip. Guess I’ll have to do it myself.
Just before you could pull away, Tara gripped your hand a little harder and pulled you toward her, sighing into you when your lips met. You squeaked in surprise but quickly kissed back, your other hand rising to cup her jaw softly.
It was a chaste kiss--you were just outside on the street, after all--and Tara wanted nothing more than to deepen it, but she didn’t complain when you pulled away, knowing that there would be others.
“Okay,” you murmured, your eyes still trained on her lips. “I’ll text you.” You leaned in again, kissed her quickly, and then pulled away entirely. “Bye, Tar.”
She giggled. “Bye, Y/N.”
bonus: when tara slipped through the front door of her apartment, she wasn’t surprised to see everyone in the living room, expectant looks on all of their faces.
“so, how did it go--” sam began before being interrupted by mindy.
“i saw you gay fuckers kissing down there,” she said, grinning. anika slapped her lightly on the arm, and mindy huffed. “what?! i did!”
tara shook her head, a soft smile on her face. “i hate you, minds.”

-April 30, 2024-
It’s an uncharacteristically chilly day, but something heavy still hangs in the air as you walk downtown with Ethan. Well really, – Ethan is walking, you aren’t. At least, not quite. He’s so tall, and his strides are so long, that every couple steps you have to jog a pace or two just to keep up with him. Years ago, when it had just been the two of you on your own, he had been a lot better at waiting up for you. But this is the new norm. There’s no imminent danger, so it’s not necessary to watch each other’s backs. Even so, you find that you’re still always looking out for him out of habit.
A group of younger women pass by you, arms looped through one anothers as they giggle and talk – you can’t help but feel a little bitter at the sight, nostalgic for what that sort of camaraderie felt like. But before you can dwell on it too much, one of the girls’ face lights up and she waves to your nephew.
“Hey Ethan,” she grins.
Ethan does a double-take, pace faltering as he looks over his shoulder to give her a smile. “Hey.”
The moment is over as quick as it began. For the most part, you know most of Ethan’s friends, and most of the people in the community. But you don't recognize this girl.
“Who was that?” you ask.
“No one,” he answers quickly.
“Really? You don’t know her name?”
“Shhh!” He pushes you forward to put more distance between you and the group that has already passed, and it’s funny how you always seem to forget he’s a grown man whose strength far outweighs your own. “Can you just be cool?”
You roll your eyes and shake your head. “Can I not ask a question?”
“You can….at a lower volume.”
You snort, but continue on, whispering. “Okay, fine. She’s cute. Is she new here?”
“I don’t know,” he says, tone bordering on defensive. “Why do you care so much? Isn’t she a little young for you?”
“Oh my god, Ethan,” you’re slightly offended by the insinuation. “All I was going to say was she seemed happy to see you.”
“Yeah, well…” he shoves his hands in his pockets and looks over his shoulder. “Cool, whatever.”
“You are just like your dad,” you say. “He was always so bad at playing it cool.”
This softens Ethan a bit, and you watch his shoulders sag. After Vincent died, you had made it a point to tell Ethan everything you could about his father. Even though it hurt, and reminded you of how much you missed him everyday, surprisingly, it ended up feeling like a good way to mourn him, and work through everything you had been through.
"Oh, yeah?" he teases. "And you are?"
You have a feeling you know what he's going to bring up, so instead of questioning him further, you change the subject.
“God, it’s kind of cold,” you comment, wrapping your jacket closer around you as a breeze whirls past you.
“What, can’t you handle it?” Ethan teases. “It might even rain. That’ll be a long day.”
You’d walked into town with him to begin with because he was going to eat breakfast in the mess hall, and you had a patrol shift. “I’ll be fine.” you say, even as your stomach flips. Every shift comes with its own set of nerves. For as much as you don’t like the feeling, you know that the apprehension keeps you sharp.
And really, you like being outside the walls. Years spent in the wilderness have made the remote area feel like home – you love the feeling of the breeze rustling through your hair, the ever present smell of the pines. Plus, you're usually partnered up with good company, even if things get stressful.
Still, today….something feels off. Maybe it’s the low barometric pressure.
“I oughta go, I’ll see you tonight, okay?” you turn to look at Ethan, and he gives you a nod and salute before ducking into the mess hall.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Tommy, no,” you put your hands on your hips. “Me and Joel? That's a terrible idea.”
“I don’t have any other options,” he says. “Eugene is out sick. There’s no one else available for me to pair you with.”
“Yeah right,” you roll your eyes, crossing your arms. “I know how much you love to meddle.”
“Who, me?” he asks, incredulous, but there’s a grin on his face.
Being in Jackson has domesticated you, because a different version of yourself would’ve probably slapped the grin off of Tommy’s face, turned in your cowboy boots and stomped out of the barn. But you feel such aggressive retaliation will only betray your feelings for Joel.
It’s only been a few weeks since dinner at Tommy and Maria’s and despite the small moment you shared with Joel on their back porch, nothing much has changed. You’re not sure why you desperately want things to. You’re not even sure what you’re hoping for anymore – kindness seems unlikely, but even his cruelty would be preferable to being ignored.
“I can go by myself,” you offer. “I know the area. No one needs to take Eugene’s spot.”
Tommy scoffs. “If I did allow that – which I won’t, because it’s rule number one – and Maria found out, I’d never hear the end of it.”
“Tommy, it…” you sigh. “He wants nothing to do with me. It’ll be horrible, and awkward. For the sake of everyone, it’s better we keep our distance.”
“He’ll come around,” Tommy says. “I promise.”
“I don’t need him to,” you say, and it’s convincing enough that you believe it, even if only for a second.
“Come on. What’s the worst that can happen?” Tommy asks. “It might be awkward, but you’ll scout some places out, find a couple cans of food, and it’ll be over before you know it.”
You set your jaw, tilt your head. “Fine. But you know I’m not going to be the easy one to convince.”
“Oh, I’m well aware,” he says.
Almost as if on cue, you turn at the sound of footsteps, and find Joel standing in the doorway to the empty stall you were arguing with Tommy in.
Great.
“Joel,” Tommy says. “I’ve paired the two of you up today. Two of our other rangers are out sick.”
Joel looks at you. “Absolutely not.”
“There it is,” you purse your lips, and glance knowingly at Tommy.
“Well, I don’t have any other options.” Tommy begins. “Plus, we usually pair newbies up with our more experienced rangers to help them."
Joel lets out a barking laugh. “I don’t need a babysitter.”
For a second, he meets your eyes, and you avert your own to the floor. Hearing him be so vehemently against interacting with you, even though you’d expected it, isn't exactly a pleasant experience.
“It’s not babysitting,” Tommy says. “She’s been in the community longer, so she knows the terrain better than you do.”
“Who else is there?”
“Joel,” Tommy says. “This is not a negotiation. It’s an order.”
Turns out it is a negotiation, because there’s quite a bit more back and forth between the two of them – so much so that you end up brushing past Joel to go saddle up your horse, Neptune. You catch snippets of the conversation, whispered in hushed tones, but you’re too annoyed to piece them into anything coherent.
Eventually, though, Tommy mutters something about looking after Ellie and Joel gives in, the barn falling silent as he goes off to prep for his shift.
You had seen Ellie several times at Tommy and Maria’s over the past few weeks, and she even approached you once when she found you eating alone at the mess hall. The two of you don’t really talk much about Joel, but she did give you a bit of an explanation about how they ended up together. According to her, he was tasked with bringing her out to some Fireflies base camp because her family was there, but when they arrived the camp was overrun. The story begs more questions than it does answers, in your opinion, but you don’t bother trying to poke holes in it. There’s certainly parts of your past you wouldn’t want to explain to anyone if questioned.
In some ways, she does remind you of Sarah…it sort of makes sense they ended up together, even if they’re quite the odd pair. Like Sarah, Ellie is smart and clever – but where they differ is where she reminds you more of yourself at her age. Very passionate with a bit of a mean streak. It was a defense mechanism that, as you got older, you had gotten better at channeling, but only when you needed to.
Tommy sends you and Joel both north to scout an area you’re pretty familiar with. Joel keeps his horse several paces up ahead of you, which becomes frustrating, especially since you know where you’re going and he doesn’t, and you have to keep calling out and instructing him to change the course. He does so wordlessly, but refuses to let his horse fall into step beside yours, keeping his shoulders hunched and his head hung low.
You think back to the beginning of the outbreak, and all the things you had lost. At that point, you still had Vincent, but even your brother couldn’t offer the support you had needed. You had wanted Joel, had craved the feeling of comfort and safety that only he had ever been able to give you. And even though you’d been forced to give up looking for him, you had always hoped he could feel you. Even now, it’s all you want. But he seems oblivious. And as your patience wears thin, you know something between you is bound to snap.
In some areas of the mountains, the terrain is so rough you have to dismount to lead your horses through it. This area isn’t frequented often, mostly because the loose and large rocks you tread over is a natural repellent to both humans and Infected. But it’s not impossible to traverse, so you still have to keep an eye out.
You don’t find much, but the farther into the woods you get, the darker the sky becomes. Thunder rumbles in the distance, and you hope the storm skips over you, even though it seems unlikely. Despite dressing for the occasion, you’re still cold as the wind picks up, and when you feel the first drops of rain, you pull up alongside Joel.
“Might want to keep an eye out for shelter in case this gets any worse,” you say to him. Joel turns to look at you, and you catch, for a minute, a forlorn expression in his eyes. It disappears as he nods wordlessly, and you’re surprised he doesn’t argue with you.
The storm grows more intense, the drops of rain turning into a full-on downpour, and lightning illuminates the sky. A spring thunderstorm. If you were at home today, you might’ve been curled up on the couch with a good book and a window cracked. But instead, you’re out in the middle of nowhere, forced into the company of your former lover who now hates you, torrential downpour soaking through your water-resistant jacket and making you shiver.
Joel crests over a ridge, and pauses to point to a cabin maybe a quarter mile away. You’re in unfamiliar territory at this point, and it’ll probably need to be cleared out, but you’re desperate for a place to wait out the poor weather.
As you near the cabin, you see it’s clearly abandoned. Inside, it’s been picked over. Furniture is strewn about, drawers and cabinets hanging open, but other than that…it’s in pretty decent shape. Good enough to be fixed up for an outpost, and you draw a rudimentary map to take back to Tommy, should any other rangers be sent to the area.
Once the house is secured and you get the horses settled in the garage, you do your obligatory sweep of any drawers, cabinets, and closets. It’s mostly picked over, and nature has begun to take over in some of the rooms, the tree roots peaking through cracks in the wooden floor.
Letting another cabinet fall closed, you sigh.
“Find anything?” you’re surprised to hear Joel ask, as he comes down the stairs.
“No,” you say. “You?”
“Nothing,” Joel says, and sits onto an ancient couch. For a split second, you admire him, as he runs his fingers through his damp hair to push it off his forehead. You’re ashamed that you’re still attracted to him, potentially even moreso than you used to be. Maybe you always imagined growing old with him, and it was nice to see, even if the context was different. You knew that daydreaming about what could’ve been wasn’t the healthiest coping mechanism, but thinking about your time with Joel, and the future you’d never have with him had gotten you through some of your darkest days. You wonder if he had ever thought about it, just to feel something other than sorrow. But with the way he’s been acting, you question if he ever even cared about you at all.
With no other distractions to keep you occupied, all you can do now is sit across from him, and wait out the storm.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Joel picks up a well-worn book with broken binding off the shelf next to where he sits, and spares a glance your direction. You’re on a chair across from him, staring out the window. He can’t tell if you’re trying to keep watch or avoid talking to him. Either way, he doesn’t care.
The book in his hands is a self-help book written by man who had lived in the wilderness for an entire year, and so generously detailed all the things he learned from the experience. Joel almost laughs at how ridiculous the description sounds. When he places the book back where he found it, you pipe up.
“No good?” you ask.
Joel shakes his head wordlessly. He’s been doing a pretty decent job of keeping you at arm's length. He tries to avoid the hurt he notices in your eyes whenever he brushes you aside, which is why he tends to keep his back to you, so he doesn't have to see it over and over again. It’s just the right thing to do. Letting Ellie into his life had been hard enough. He isn’t willing to make himself even more vulnerable.
“Shit,” you say, looking disappointed. “Well if there’s nothing else to do, we might actually have to talk to each other.”
Joel puts his arm over the back of the sofa, and looks out the window. “No?” you prompt. “Well then, can I at least ask you something?”
“Depends.”
“I guess I just have been thinking…” you trail off. “After everything….the fact that the two of us are together. Feels like….I don’t know. Do you think it means something?”
Joel looks over at you, finds you leaning forward in your chair. You discarded your jacket to dry on the railing of the staircase, and your flannel shirt hangs open as you lean onto your elbows, an expectant look on your face.
Joel had learned long ago that it was senseless to look for meaning in this world. There was no rhyme or reason for why things happened the way they did – they just happened. All the good, and all the terrible. There was only so much he could do to control them, as much as he tried. And it made him feel helpless.
“It’s a coincidence.”
“Right,” you say, enunciating the T pointedly. He’s thankful when your jaw sets, and your expression gives nothing else away. “So what, then? We should just act like we’re strangers? Just pretend like…we never knew each other?”
“It was over twenty years ago. I’ve moved on,” Joel says. The more he can deflect, push you away, the more angry you’ll likely get, and the faster this conversation will end.
But you surprise him.
“Okay,” you say, looking at the floor. “I mean, I get it. I did too, because I thought you were dead. But you aren’t, so maybe we could just talk-”
“What is there to talk about?” Joel asks.
You’re incredulous. “So many things, Joel. But you’ve been…so….” you struggle to find the words. “I don’t think this is a coincidence. And you’re right. It was a long time ago, so maybe it’s foolish to think that we could maybe-” you cut yourself off, shake your head. “I feel like I at least deserve to know why you want nothing to do with me now.”
Joel notices how your knuckles are white from how tightly you have your hands clasped in one another’s. You’re probably angry. That’s what he wants. But you’re trying so hard to control yourself, to connect with him, and he’s shocked that you find him worthy of that energy no matter how many times he pushes you away.
“I’m not the man you knew. You’re wasting your time.”
You blink once. “Yeah. Okay. So that’s it?”
Joel remains stone faced.
“Well that’s,” you sigh, put your head in your hands for a split second, let out a choked sounding laugh, and look back over at him. “That’s so fucking stupid.”
“How do you think I got here? How do you think I survived for as long as I did? I’m not the same woman that I was, either. But that’s just how it fucking works. You’re gonna spend the rest of your life using that as an excuse to push people away – a friend, your own fucking brother-”
Joel flinches at the confirmation you might be just as bad as he is.
“Don’t bring Tommy into-”
“I’m not going to walk on eggshells whenever we’re together because you can’t deal with your own shit,” you raise your voice again.
Joel feels his lip curl, wondering why you won’t just give up, why you won’t just accept the rejection. But your hypocrisy is what frustrates him the most. He thinks back to when you’d been together. You were the reason he never told you he loved you. You were like quicksilver, sitting in the palm of his hand, but you’d run the second he tried to hold you. He never really got you, all of you, like he had wanted. “That’s great advice from someone who was always so good at being vulnerable.”
That one seems to hurt you enough, and you recoil slightly, sit up straighter. “Sure, yeah. I was young, and I was fucking….I was scared. But I-I’m trying to be better.”
He can’t stand the broken look on your face, would rather keep you angry. “Do you think I owe you something? None of that stuff matters anymore.”
“Really? None of it matters? Even Sarah knew–”
That slices through the thread of restraint he has left. “Enough.”
“I loved her, Joel,” you plead with him. “I loved her, too.”
Joel rises to his feet, his hands clench into fists, and you stand too. “Don’t-”
“-And you won’t even,” you swallow hard to compose yourself as Joel paces to look out the window. The rain has died down considerably, like it knows there’s only so much energy allowed to exist in one place. “You pretend like we didn’t know each other, I knew you Joel. I know you. And I knew her, and-”
“I said that’s enough!” Joel grabs the closest thing he can find, a lamp sitting on the side table, and hurls it across the room. It shatters upon impact, glass shards spraying in the air. He’s desperate to scare you off, willing to do anything to get you to stop poking holes in his resolve, it feels like you can see right through him, and he has no place to hide.
But you don’t even recoil from the outburst. In fact, you seem almost satisfied. In letting his emotions get the best of him, he's shown you how much he still cares. It doesn’t stop him from continuing on.
“You don’t know me, and she wasn’t your daughter. You will never understand what it is like to lose your own child.”
You exhale sharply, like he’s punched you in the gut, the color draining from your face. Eyes still red-rimmed, but the fire inside them is now gone.
“Okay,” you say, voice trembling and you look out the window. “It’s not raining anymore, so I’m gonna head back.”
“We’re supposed to finish the-”
“I don’t want to be anywhere near you,” you say, swiping at the corners of your eyes. “I don’t want to see you again, honestly. So just fuck off.”
Within seconds, you’re gone, the garage door slamming behind you. Joel stays in place, even after he hears the measured beat of your horse running off into the woods. He’s done terrible things to a lot of people that didn’t deserve them – and he did them without a second thought. This had been exactly what he wanted, but this time, he’s filled with regret.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You can’t remember the last time you were this angry.
Every nerve inside you is thrumming with electricity, and you are glad you’re alone, because you’re pretty sure the next person who touches you will get shocked. But even though you’re angry with Joel, you’re more angry with yourself. He had tried to warn you – and you just kept pushing. Why’d you allow yourself to grow so soft? To believe that you could both find a way to heal together? Bea had been wrong. Love was just another means to control someone else. Joel was no exception to the rule.
Sure, there were things about you he didn’t understand. But you aren’t willing to give him any grace, not after the way he’d humiliated you, over and over….and you just let it happen. Maybe it was irresponsible to leave him there alone, but you didn’t care. He could find his way back, and even if he didn’t, it no longer mattered.
The rage gives you tunnel vision, you can only see what’s directly in front of you, and even then, none of it registers. You’re not even sure how long you’ve been riding when you hear the gunfire rain down on you.
It snaps you out of it – the sound of the bullets whizzing past your ears hitting the trees, ricocheting off the rocks at your feet. Almost immediately you leap off your horse and take cover behind a tree, drawing your pistol and listening closely to see where the attack came from.
You hear voices – men’s voices, and the sound of leaves crunching underfoot. You pinpoint three distinct voices, but there could be more.
“Where the fuck did she go?”
“Doesn’t matter, we should go after the horse.”
“What if she has friends? She looked too put together to be alone.”
“Even better. Come on, she couldn’t have gone far.”
Truth be told, it’d been awhile since you’d had to navigate an ambush like this all alone. If you’d been paying closer attention, maybe you would’ve seen it coming. You’re already at a disadvantage, outnumbered, but it helps that you at least know their intentions.
The footsteps grow closer, to your right, so quietly, you shuffle to the left of the tree you’re huddled up against, so you’re out of view when two of them pass you. You imagine the third one is scoping out a different section of the forest. Idiots, you think to yourself.
The adrenaline kicks in, and you pounce. One of the men is wearing a scarf, and that makes things easy, when you yank him backwards, hiding behind his broad shoulders, you use the fabric to cut off his airflow, staying clear of his arms flailing about while the man he was walking with turns, hesitating, gun raised, but he doesn’t fire – he can’t, or he’ll risk hitting his friend.
“Hey, hey, we just want to talk!” the man in front of you pleads as you catch his eyes over the shoulder of his friend, whose attempts at freeing himself become weaker and weaker as he fights to breathe.
“No you don’t,” when the man goes limp in your arms, you shove him forward towards the man whose gun is now trained on you. He fires twice, but it’s you who delivers the final blow, so you don’t see where his bullets go. The two of them collapse together on the ground.
Your heart starts to beat faster, suddenly increasing your ability to focus. Warmth blooms in the pit of your belly, and you whirl around towards the sound of footsteps in the snow, the third man appearing in front of you – his gun also raised. His eyes flicker nervously between you and the two others – who are dead, if not incapacitated, but you can’t worry about that now.
He’s hesitating with his gun raised – why, you aren’t sure. But you are, too. There’s something about the fear in his eyes that makes you feel almost guilty. It’s me, or him, you remind yourself, a mantra you have had to repeat far too many times trying to survive. When his eyes shift behind you, you pull the trigger, and a second gunshot echoes your own. You brace yourself, thinking he fired too, but instead, his body jolts two times with the impact of two bullets before he goes down. They were inexperienced, clearly, but it was still a close call.
You look over your shoulder to find Joel behind you, gun still smoking, something dark and feral in his eyes. He lowers his weapon as you turn to face him fully.
“I had it handled,” you say, briskly. But Joel doesn’t answer you. In fact, the insult doesn't seem to register at all - his eyes are wide. You follow his gaze down, towards your stomach.
That’s when see it.
Blood, and a lot of it, blooming at your stomach, dripping down under the waistband of your pants. When you go to press your hand against the wound, you realize you can’t feel your right arm – your shoulder is bleeding too.
“Oh,” you suddenly feel lightheaded, cold. Your teeth chatter. “Shit.”
You slump against a tree, expecting to feel the bark scratching your skin through your jacket, but you feel nothing at all as you slide to the ground. Above you, the sun shines brightly – like it had never stormed at all.
Life goes on.
You look towards the light, but it’s quickly obstructed by Joel, hovering over you.
“We gotta-” he stutters, “We’ve gotta get out of here.” He says it like it’s a real possibility, looking down at your wounds. You can see it on his face. It’s not.
“That bad?” you say, when he meets your gaze again. He doesn’t answer, opens his mouth and shakes his head no, but you can tell he’s lying. You take in a ragged breath. “Just tell Ethan that-”
“It’s not that bad. Stop it. Will you?” Joel says, like he’s suddenly remembered how to talk. “You’re fine. You’ll be fine.”
“I don’t know,” you manage, and it’s hard to speak without feeling like you’re choking. “I-I don’t think so.”
Joel’s hands find your shoulders, and despite the last thing he said to you before you left him, the gesture does give you some sense of comfort. “I’m so….I’m so fucking tired. Ethan’s alright. He doesn’t need me-”
“No, no,” Joel cuts you off. “He does, he does need you. Lots of people need you.”
None of his words even register, you can only think about your imminent future. The fight you’d got in seems suddenly inconsequential. “I don’t want to be alone, will you just stay until-”
“We’re leaving,” Joel drags you to your feet, presses a hand to your middle to stop the bleeding, and you feel the pain for the first time. It’s such a shock – so intense and all-consuming that you cry out. “I know, I know, I know…” he says, and his voice breaks into panic.
“I should’ve never fucking let you go,” you’re not sure if he’s talking about you walking away from him earlier, or something else. Joel is half-carrying, half-dragging you along – so dizzy and disoriented you can’t move your legs, vision fading in and out. Joel stumbles over the uneven terrain towards his horse.
“Please-” just let me be, you want to croak, but the words don’t come out. You think of everyone you’ve lost – Sarah. Vincent. Bea. All the others. What had it felt like for them, before it happened?
“No, no, don’t close your eyes,” you feel Joel’s hand on the side of your face, and you blink them open – you actually didn’t remember nodding off. “Stay with me, now….please. Please.”
The more he begs, the less you understand what’s making him so frustrated. The less you understand anything at all. You wish you could answer, but you can’t. You can feel your body going limp. “Come on, girl, don’t fucking do this to me,” you hear his voice, harsh and desperate, your body being shaken.
Your vision comes in snippets– blood on your hands, on the slope of his neck, the canopy of trees above you, Joel’s eyes, wet with tears.
You can’t understand why he’s crying, and you don’t get to figure it out.

confide 𝜗𝜚 ׅ ۫ alec volturi x reader
warnings: angst, fluff
His anger filled the atmosphere with an intense tension as the screaming match between the two of you well and truly continued.
“I didn’t have a choice..!” You placed your hand on the table in direct line of his eyesight, the daggers he had been glaring at it now turning in your direction as he scoffed.
“Of course you had a choice!” He hissed at you as he stood up straighter, standing to his full height as he stared you down angrily. “You should have alerted me the second you knew of the child..!”
“They are my family!” You seethed, continuing to stand your ground against him - his anger only spiking more so.
“And I am your MATE” He scowled at you as his voiced raised at you, making you withdraw slightly as venomous tears pricked at your eyes. He halted with the next words that came out of your mouth and his expression contorted into one of slight horror.
“You’re right… and I shouldn’t have to make a choice between the two…”
You looked at him, eyes glistened with tears which would never fall and Alec pettily rolled his eyes.
“Do not look at me like that Y/N.”
You looked at him for another moment before moving your eyes down to look at the floor. You heard a frustrated sigh before his shoes filled the empty floorboards you glared at. Using his index finger he lifted your chin to meet your eyes and though his held evidence of his volatile anger, you could see his adoration clouding over his irises, pupils dilating as you stared up at him in a puppyish manner.
“I know you tried to do the right thing sweetface…” His voice was surprisingly soft and low as he spoke, all the while his hand moving to stroke your jaw delicately - tracing your jawline. You simply sighed.
“I know I should have told you… I shouldn’t have hidden it” You pouted and his thumb moved to your lip to brush it away.
“I was scared.” You continued, teeth coming down on your lip and he pulled back slightly as if you’d burnt him.
“Of me?” He questioned but you shook your head and he sent you a puzzled look.
“I was scared that…I didn’t know how you’d react- how your coven would react and…” You took an unneeded intake of air before continuing. “ …and with all of the chaos of Nessie’s birth and Bella’s change it must’ve slipped everyone’s mind and I- I didn’t want to be the one to cause unnecessary trouble for my family”
Your eyes moved right back to the floor as Alec sighed and tilted his head back, almost in frustration.
After a few moments he spoke up and you tilted your head to look up at him.
“Seeing you on the other side of that clearing… It scared me. More than anything I have ever felt in the entirety of my existence and it is something I never thought I would have to witness. Perhaps even something which could have been avoided entirely if any one of your coven had simply alerted us from the start. We were enforcing the law. ”
His voice hardened as he stared at you
“Believe it or not Y/N,I am on your side. As your counterpart. As your mate. We are a team whether you believe so or not. I am not asking you to choose between your coven and I, all I am asking is you to rely on me to help you when it’s needed.”
You looked down in guilt as he spoke before sighing.
“I’m sorry I never said anything about Renesmee… and i’m sorry for scaring you… and cutting you off.”
You gloated as he sighed cupping your face in his hands.
“Promise me you’ll confide in me in the future… let me do my job as your mate and be truthful with me” He stared at you wistfully, eyes glistening.
“I promise” You held out your pinky and he looped his own around it, pulling your hand to his lips and kissing it in reassurance. You pulled him into an needed embrace, the calming scent provided by him luring you into security.

| actually the worst | part 5
ao’nung x f!reader
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | bonus part
summary: it’s been a month and you’re still fuming over what ao’nung did to lo’ak. however, when kiri asks you to hear him out, you find it easier to forgive him than you thought. a trip to the cove of ancestors seems to solidify the newly restored friendship and also encourages a new aspect of your relationship that you weren’t expecting. when things inevitably go wrong at the spirit tree, ao’nung plays a surprisingly strong role in getting you through the traumatic events of the night.
includes: enemies to lovers, teasing, swearing, mildly suggestive remarks, mentions of seizure/death, ao'nung being... a sweetheart?🫢
word count: 4.3k
a/n: oh my god i am so sorry this took me forever to write! the past few days have just been so busy, but it's finally done😮💨 i'm thinking one, maaaaybe two more parts depending on what i can come up with for part 6:)
Okay, so maybe you did like him. A little. Like a minuscule amount. It was microscopic, really.
You had spent the past month fervently denying it anytime your siblings poked fun at you or when you found yourself thinking about it. However, a few days ago you were sitting on the beach, watching your siblings fool around with the Metkayina kids when you realized you had been staring at Ao’nung for an embarrassingly long time. You hadn’t spoken a word to him since the Lo’ak incident, but you’d been staring practically whenever you thought it was safe to do so. Sometimes you thought about everything you disliked about him and fantasized about punching him. Most of the time you were fantasizing about- well…
The point was that you finally decided you couldn’t deny your attraction to him any longer. But that didn’t mean you were about to let anyone else know that. Especially not him.
“[Y/N], are you coming?” Kiri’s head poked into the marui. You stopped braiding the bracelet you were working on, quickly hiding it behind your back as it was going to be a gift for Kiri’s birthday in a few days. Technically it would be your birthday too, but you preferred to celebrate her.
“Where are you going?” You asked excitedly, starting to ready yourself for what you assumed was going to be one of your nightly explorations of the island.
“Tsireya is taking us to the spirit tree!” Kiri exclaimed, clearly more than happy to be going.
“Oh…” You couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed. You certainly wanted a chance to finally see the spirit tree of the Metkayina, something you sorely missed about home. However, you knew who would be tagging along on the journey and it was not someone you wanted to be around. “Maybe just go without me.” You mumbled.
“Nonsense, you need to go. It is important!” Your mother stood from her spot next to your dad as they finished eating their dinner together. She squatted down next you, placing a comforting hand on your leg. “You have been sulking around for many days, [Y/N]. I think it will be good for you to go with your friends.” Her smile was kind, reassuring. It’s not like you could tell her why you really didn’t want to go.
“Alright.” You caved, mustering a small smile for Neytiri before you followed Kiri out the door. She was practically skipping.
“Maybe you should make up with Ao’nung, tonight.” She said airily, and you choked on your own spit.
“W-what?” Kiri barked out a laugh, shaking her head.
“Relax. I said make up. Not make out.” Her eyes danced with laughter as you tried to ignore your heated cheeks. Even she, your trusted twin, had not been able to resist teasing you about the bane of your existence.
“Either way, it’s not gonna happen, Ki.” You pursed your lips. She smiled, looping her arm through yours.
“He’s not so bad anymore.” She was no longer teasing, but you snorted out a laugh anyway. “I’m being serious! I still don’t like him much, but you have to admit that he’s been incredibly civil lately.” She was right, of course. The Metkayina boy was still a snarky moron, but he’d actually been getting along with everyone. He’d even attempted to apologize to you, but you were making it incredibly difficult by avoiding and outright ignoring him. “Just give him a chance to talk to you, okay? You don’t have to forgive him if you don’t want to.”
“Fine,” You sighed, wishing anyone but Kiri had asked you this favour. “Though I think cutting my own leg off would be preferable to listening to him speak.”
“Listening to who speak?” You shouldn’t have been surprised that he had snuck up on you yet again. It was becoming ritual at this point.
“Is nothing I say ever private to you?” You whipped around, meeting those shining blue eyes. It was the first time you had made real eye contact with him in weeks.
“I’m going to go meet the others. I’ll let them know you guys are on the way.” Kiri whispered, giving your arm a reassuring squeeze before she took off in the direction of the beach. You swear you saw her grinning.
“So you’re talking to me now, forest girl?” Ao’nung’s deep voice was neutral, but his small smirk betrayed his satisfaction.
“Don’t get your panties in a twist. It’s not exactly my choice.” You scoffed, finding a small bit of amusement in the fact that Ao’nung didn’t know what panties were. You could see him fighting the urge to ask.
“I suppose you’re expecting me to apologize.” He finally said, looking incredibly uncomfortable. It was clear that he didn’t make apologies often.
“I suppose I am.” You echoed, crossing your arms.
“I’m sorry.” He bit out. You blinked, waiting for him to continue. The soft chirping of insects and the distant rush of the shoreline were the only sounds as the two of you stood, awkwardly staring. When it became clear that he didn’t plan on saying anything else, you let out a short, bitter laugh.
“You can’t be serious.” You turned to go, thinking about what a waste of time that was. However, you only made it about two steps before a callused but incredibly gentle hand closed around your arm, tugging you back.
“Wait.” He breathed, sighing softly. You turned slowly back to face him.
“I really am sorry, [Y/N].” You stilled at the sound of your name passing his lips. You couldn’t think of a time when he had actually said it. It was always forest girl, or freak. The way your name sounded coming from him was intriguing. He said it like a prayer. Like you were something to be worshipped. It made it difficult to pay attention to the rest of his apology.
“I don’t expect you to forgive me.” He frowned, rubbing the back of his neck. “I don’t deserve it, honestly. But I just feel really desperate for you to know that I learned my lesson that night. I kept on imagining what could have happened, how it could have turned out. I- I have nightmares about it still,” He paused briefly, looking past you for a moment as if seeing something you weren’t. Your heart clenched. “I’ve spent my whole life trying to impress people. Trying to be funny and unbothered and worthy of being the future Olo’eyktan. I don’t know when that made me into a monster, but I don’t want to be that anymore.” He swallowed deeply, nervously shuffling from foot to foot while avoiding your eyes. The sight was unbearable.
Without thinking, you stepped closer, reaching up to place your hand on his cheek. Startled, he looked up from the ground, meeting your gaze.
“I forgive you, Ao’nung.” Your words were almost inaudible, but you felt him shiver slightly beneath your touch. Slowly, his hand extended out to rest on your waist, inching the two of you closer than ever. His breathing was slow and methodic and you instinctively reached up, placing a hand over his rapid heartbeat, completely unable to look anywhere but his blown pupils. Your mind felt impossibly slow, barely registering anything other than Ao’nung’s grip on your waist and the fire it was spreading all along your body. It was when his lips brushed ever so lightly across yours- so excruciatingly close to being a kiss- that you came rushing back to reality.
“Jesus christ, I’m sorry…” You took a faltering step back, shivering at the loss of contact when Ao’nung’s hands fell away from you. “I- That-” You stumbled over your words, so utterly embarrassed that you couldn’t think properly.
“No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have assumed…” He shook his head, stepping back a bit.
“I mean- I’m just- I need some, like, some time.” You finally got out the words, hoping you weren’t sounding like a jerk. “You did almost kill my brother, after all.” A breathy laugh escaped your lips, but you instantly regret your words when you realized how terrible they sounded. However, they rang somewhat true. It seemed ridiculous to be macking on the boy immediately after he apologized. You didn’t want to be that desperate.
“So… can we go back to how things were, then?” He asked, his signature smirk playing at his lips. Relief flooded you as you processed his words, glad to be offered a way out of the mess you had just created.
“I don’t know,” You shrugged. “Are you willing to go back to getting your ego demolished by me?” You quirked and eyebrow, earning a scoff from him.
“You wish, freak.” He suddenly turned, starting toward the beach. “Better catch up before everyone leaves without us!”
You huffed, jogging to match to his long strides. “Maybe I can convince them to leave you behind.”
No one said a thing when the two of you strolled up to the water together, looking what you assumed was at least somewhat amicable. Your friends and siblings just shared quick, knowing looks before you all mounted your ilus and started off for the cove of ancestors.
Ao’nung rode beside you throughout most of the journey, and the two of you traded sarcastic remarks and snide comments, seemingly making up for lost time. It felt good, almost normal again, and you found yourself thinking that maybe a friendship with the infuriating boy was actually possible.
"We're here!" Tsireya finally called out, slowing down to allow everyone else to catch up and take in the surroundings. It was truly an incredible sight, with the soft glow from the underwater bioluminescence and lush green vegetation, all surrounded by the jutting silhouette of large curved rocks and smaller suspended chunks of land. You glanced around at the faintly illuminated faces of your companions and a swell of contentment filled your chest. You missed your home in the forest deeply, but you felt that the ocean and its islands had rightfully won a place in your heart, and that gaping wound left by your grief was beginning to hurt a lot less.
"So beautiful." You breathed.
"Yes." Ao'nung agreed, and you turned to where he was floating, already staring at you. You flushed slightly under his gaze, wondering how long he had been focused on you.
"I think you have some drool on your chin." You quipped, and he quickly brought his hand up to his face, looking slightly alarmed. Seconds later, he caught on. His face twisted into that of annoyed amusement. The two of you had never entered this territory of playful flirting before, but he seemed game.
"Very funny, forest girl," He simpered. "And pretty bold coming from someone who's been eye-fucking me for the past month."
Your jaw slackened as everyone else burst out laughing, including Kiri, who you shot a betrayed look.
"What does that mean?" Tuk piped up from her spot on Neteyam's ilu, looking confused. It seemed most of you had forgotten she was there.
"Oh shit- I mean, it's nothing, Tuk." Ao'nung quickly backtracked, earning a threatening glare from Neteyam and another round of muffled laughs from everyone else. Even you could barely hold yourself together.
"Just don't repeat that to mom and dad." Neteyam sighed, shaking his head.
"Why don't we go to the spirit tree now?" Tsireya spoke up, still smiling. Thankfully, everyone nodded and started dismounting into the water. You swam closer to Ao'nung, lightly smacking his arm.
"Nice going, genius." You snickered and the colour in his cheeks deepened.
"Shut it." He rolled his eyes at your continued laughter, though a smile was creeping onto his lips. Eventually, he was full-on grinning, the look so genuine that it was almost shocking. The only two expressions he ever seemed to make were akin to scowling or smirking. This was something entirely new. You realized your gaze had become fixed on the curve of his lips and blushed.
"Who's drooling now?" Ao'nung laughed, settling back into his signature taunting smirk. You decided not to let an opportunity pass you by.
"Don't get any ideas, freak." You shrugged. "I was just thinking that I've never seen you smile like that." Your heart sped up as you finished your sentence.
"Like what?"
"Well... like you're actually happy. You usually just look like an asshole with a debilitating god complex." You had to round things out with an insult, thinking you were inflating his ego a little too much. He just smiled and shook his head, finally turning to swim after the others.
"If you didn't hate me so much I'd think you were in love with me." He said before he dove under the water, heading for the spirit tree.
"If you didn't act like such a skxawng then maybe I would be..." You mumbled, diving under too as you became consumed by your own thoughts. Less than an hour ago the two of you had been seconds away from kissing, but you couldn't seem to let yourself go through with it, like it was somehow offensive to the very core of your being, despite your growing feelings. So why, after such a rejection, were you unrelentingly teasing and flirting?
You had only been attempting to return to what was normal- known territory- between you and Ao'nung. Teasing each other was like breathing. But now that you understood your feelings for him, it was fun to flirt a little bit, especially because you had convinced yourself it was a harmless action, more of a game than anything else. Because you couldn't help but fear that's just what you were to him: a game to be played and won.
So that's how it would be, you decided. You would be happy to oblige in this self-indulgent game so long as it never became more. He was still the bane of your existence, after all.
Connecting to the tree brought you back home both figuratively and literally. The tree of souls flashed in your memory, and with it a thousand little reminders of the life you had left behind. The first time you went hunting with your father, exploring the forest as a child with Kiri, playfully fighting with Lo'ak and Spider, bonding with your ikran, sleeping next to your family and breathing as the forest breathed with you. All of these experiences were collected in your mind like beautiful, treasured shells. It was was wonderful to have them on display.
You eventually ended up in a memory that you didn't even know you had, blinking as you trekked along one of the thick vines that connected the hallelujah mountains together. You harbored many memories like this, certainly, but this specific one felt different somehow. You strained to think of when this had taken place.
"Hurry up, slow poke!" You found yourself calling out, a laugh bubbling from your chest when someone groaned behind you. You turned your head and struggled to make sense of your companion.
"When you said you were going to show me your home, this is not what I pictured us doing." Ao'nung frowned, glancing warily over the side of the vine you both walked upon.
"No? What exactly were you picturing, then, Nung?" You queried and Ao'nung's lips split into what you could only describe as a suggestive grin. Since when the hell did you call him that? Everything about this was so strange to you. It was clearly not one of your memories at all.
"Oh, you know, maybe a little less dangerous hiking and a little more finding a secluded spot to-"
"Oh my Eywa!" You- or at least this alternate version of you- yelped, shaking your head. "Just keep walking, you sick bastard."
"Just putting ideas out there.." He chuckled, suddenly pushing forward to catch up to you. He slung his arm around your waist, pulling you into him like it was the most natural action in the world. You tried to stop alternate you from leaning into his touch, to no avail.
You leaned in closer, standing on your tiptoes to whisper into his ear. "You're so desperate, Ao'nung." He shivered.
"Only for you, forest girl."
You ripped your queue away from the tree, breathing heavily as you desperately tried to work through whatever that was. You had never experienced anything like it before, even when you connected to the tree of souls back home. It scared you.
When you had calmed yourself a little, you looked around at the others, most of whom were still connected peacefully. Ironically, only Ao'nung seemed to be finished as well, his eyes settled on you through the layers of glowing fronds from the tree. He gave you a questioning look, sending you briefly back to your supposed trek through the mountains with him. Your cheeks burned, wishing you could just forget about it entirely. Ao'nung opened his mouth to speak, but didn't get the chance when the fronds around you suddenly began flashing and pulsing.
You snapped your head around, trying to find the source of the change when your searching eyes landed on your twin. Her body was impossibly rigid, her neck bent back as she shook somewhat violently. You immediately dove toward her, disconnecting her queue from the tree as Neteyam swam up and grabbed her, pulling her upwards. You grasped onto her stiff hand, trying to still the tremors that had her fingers twitching. You briefly registered Ao'nung on the other side of her, helping Neteyam swim her to the surface.
When you all burst through the water, panting, you wasted no time in lifting Kiri onto the back of Neteyam's ilu.
"Is she breathing? Is she breathing?" Rotxo asked worriedly, and you mentally thanked him for saying what was on your mind. You couldn't seem to speak as your throat constricted with fear.
Neteyam hopped up beside Kiri and blew a few breaths into her lungs, thankfully getting her chest moving on its own again.
"Let's, go! We have to take her back!" Lo'ak yelled, urging Neteyam forward. As soon as he took off, your hand slipped out of Kiri's, leaving you even more afraid than before. Your own body was stiff, your mind running through a thousand thoughts a second. Everyone around you was mounting their ilus and taking off toward home, but you were panicking too much to even keep yourself properly afloat. Water entered your throat as you hyperventilated, your head beginning to feel extremely light.
"[Y/N]!" Ao'nung's voice sounded distant, but he was somehow directly beside you in the water, offering a hand. You grasped onto it and he pulled you quickly up next to him like you weighed nothing at all. "Just hold on, okay?" He said directly into your ear, his tone urgent but kind. Since you were in front of him, there was nothing much to grab onto except for the arm that was gripping the ilu's saddle. Evidently, that did not seem to be enough for him because as you went speeding along the water, he wrapped his free arm protectively around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest.
The ride back felt like mere minutes, thankfully, but Neteyam and Kiri were nowhere to be seen along the shoreline when you arrived. You hoped that meant they were already inside your marui and getting help.
You were so intent upon getting to Kiri quickly that you stumbled getting off of the ilu, your shaking legs nearly buckling before Ao'nung was there again, grasping onto your arm to steady you. When you found your balance once again, he let go, but stayed close behind as the two of you ran for your marui pod.
"Kiri!" You cried as you approached, catching a glimpse of her lying on the floor of the pod. There were many people scurrying around her, trying to figure out what was wrong, but they kindly made room for you to kneel beside her, taking her hand in yours once again.
"What is the matter?" You looked up frantically, searching the faces of anyone close by in hopes that they had an answer. Most of them looked just as clueless and frightened as you, including your parents. Only Ronal seemed somewhat calm, examining Kiri from her other side. You caught her eyes and a look of pity passed over her features.
"I do not know yet what is afflicting her, child." Ronal said calmly, but you grimaced at her words, your breaths once again starting to come out short and fast. "But she is stable, now. She is asleep. I believe it is her body trying to recover." You relaxed some upon hearing 'recover', but the incident was still fresh and playing over and over through your mind. You just wanted Kiri to open her eyes, to prove to you that you had not lost her.
"Just fix it!" You knew it was unfair to yell and get mad at everyone who was just trying to help, but you didn't know what else to do. You jumped a little when a warm hand rested on your shoulder from behind. Your mother's eyes were filled with worry, but she spoke gently.
"Leave us to help Kiri, [Y/N]. The Tsahìk needs space to work, my daughter." She urged kindly, gently tugging your elbow to pull you up. You reluctantly released Kiri's hand, still breathing hard. Not knowing where to go, you awkwardly spun on your heel, looking around for a better place to stand. Ao'nung caught your eye from where he stood in the doorway and gestured for you to follow him outside. You didn't really want to go far from Kiri, but the rational part of you knew it would be best, so you obliged. As soon as you stepped out the door, Ao'nung grabbed your hand, guiding you away from your marui and down the short path to the beach. You stopped when you reached the sand, the two of you just standing and staring out into the vast stretch of water. Something about it seemed to snap the last little bit of restraint in you, and you began to whimper, a fresh round of burning tears making their way down your cheeks. Your whimpers turned into loud cries mixed with hyperventilating as you lost all control of yourself. You were so far gone that you didn't even question it when Ao'nung suddenly pulled you into his arms, folding them loosely around you, as if unsure of himself. The comfort of it felt so insanely good that you pressed into him further, stretching a bit to wrap your arms around his neck. He took that as a good sign and pulled his arms tighter, forcing your head to rest on his chest as you cried.
"She will be alright. Eywa will protect her." He whispered to you, his thumbs drawing comforting circles along your back. He held you that way for a long time, not once loosening his grip on you even as you began to calm, sniffling for a bit before eventually growing silent. Your breathing fell into a slow, methodic rhythm that was somewhat in tune with the strong and steady heartbeat you could hear through Ao'nung's chest. Your eyes fluttered shut, just allowing yourself to feel the body against yours. The strength of the arms holding you in place. The smooth skin beneath your cheek. The pleasant warmth of the fingers trailing across your back. You sighed heavily, releasing any leftover tension that you had been holding in your chest.
"Don't think this means I like you." You finally said, wanting to distract yourself from thinking about your sister and spiraling again. A reprieve from the situation was necessary, at least for a little while.
Ao'nung chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest. "Of course not." He said. "I would never be so bold."
"How come you're always so warm?" You questioned, enjoying as the heat of his touch bled into your skin.
"It's obviously because of my ridiculous good looks." You could hear the smirk in his words, and you took that as your signal to finally pull away from him, immediately regretting the loss of contact.
"What does that have to do with it?" You raised an eyebrow, skeptical, but Ao'nung just shrugged.
"Nothing. But you just admitted that I'm good looking." His smile was infuriatingly wide. You scoffed.
"I most definitely did not, skxawng. You're delusional."
"Mm, I don't think so." He said, shifting to sit down in the sand, facing the water. You followed, sitting close enough that your leg was pressed against his. Neither of you seemed to care to move away to a more appropriate distance. "C'mon, just admit that you think I'm handsome!" He nudged you with his shoulder, earning a glare from you.
"Not gonna happen, fish lips."
He gasped dramatically, throwing a hand to his chest. "I'm wounded!"
"Aw, poor baby." You mocked, jutting out your bottom lip into a pout.
"Well now you're just being rude." He deadpanned. You laughed.
"You really want me to give you a compliment?" You finally asked, and he perked up, eyes shining as he nodded.
"Alright," You sighed. "Your face is actually kind of handsome," Ao'nung opened his mouth to agree. "When your stupidity isn't screwing it up." You couldn't help but immediately burst out laughing, especially as the conceited smugness on his face twisted into a scowl.
"You're the meanest woman I've ever met." He grumbled, shaking his head.
"That's why you like me." You grinned.
"It's definitely not."
"Oh, but you admit that you do like me?"
"That's not what I said."
"Sounds like it."
"Sounds like you need to shut up."

Hey, Cowboy
part two
jake seresin x reader ≈ 800 words masterlist
language, suggestive comments, it’s abt the cowboy hat rule
y’all want a pt 2?
—
A few too many beers in your system had made you especially combative that night, and combined with Hangman’s obnoxiously attractive bravado, you were all too ready to get into a fight with the man.
“All you do is make a fool of yourself, Seresin,” you laughed cruelly, snatching the pale tawny hat off of his blond head. “‘Look, I’m Hangman, best of the best with a big ol’ dick! Ain’t got no—’”
“Stop that!” A big hand ripped the hat off of your head, his voice hissing loudly at your mockery. “Don’t do or say shit you don't mean, Raptor.” He searched the room anxiously. You didn’t quite understand why that, of all things, had gotten to him, but you laughed again as you smoothed your hair and took a drink of your beer.
“What? The dick joke too much?”
“No, kid, we’re in fucking Texas. Everyone here knows the rule,” He took a swig from his whiskey glass as he scanned the room, “and I know most everyone here.”
You were entirely out of the loop, but you didn’t need him to know that, so you rolled your eyes as you grabbed your drink and walked to Phoenix, the whole squad save for yourself and Hangman having congregated near the pool tables. The night dragged on and everyone got taxis back to base, but the question of Seresin’s very sudden nervousness still prodded your mind.
Still, you slept through the night, and by the time you woke, it had slipped your mind. The morning after, your head was splitting, so you took some ibuprofen and headed to the gym to make the rest of you hurt. Walking in the door, you immediately spotted Hangman facing the mirrors covering the wall, repping a weight probably too high for the morning after a night like the last.
You paused to admire the veins in his arms and the grunts that he made before snapping out of your trance and heading to your locker to stow your gear. You stepped to the side of the gym furthest from the man to do some dynamic stretches, then put your headphones on and hopped on the treadmill. 30 minutes of running passed before you hopped off, gulping down some water before you treaded heavily towards the upper body machines.
Your music was blasting in your ears so loudly as you worked your traps that you couldn’t hear Trace approach, her light steps not making it past your headphones. When you finished your set with a grunt, you stood up and yelped with surprise, her presence unexpected.
She chuckled at the noise, then scanned you up and down as you walked up to her, taking your headphones off. “You’re walking surprisingly well, Raptor.”
You felt your brows scrunch up as you tilted your head, completely lost. “I wasn’t that drunk.”
“No, but after that stunt you pulled with his hat, I thought Hangman would’ve had you follow through.”
It took you a moment to recall what she meant, but as soon as you did the confusion returned in full force. “No, what the hell does that mean?” You blurted out, throwing your hands up. “First he starts acting like I just accused him of being a Communist then you say you expected me to ‘follow through’?”
Trace’s eyes widen, surprise and glee mixing in equal parts. “You really don’t know the rule?”
You raised your eyebrows expectantly and pursed your lips, gesturing for her to continue.
“‘Wear the hat, ride the cowboy’ rings no bells?”
Your stomach sank, a gasp ripping out of you before you groaned, smacking yourself on the cheeks and dragging your hands down. “Oh, come on.”
“What, like you wouldn’t have done it if you knew?”
You searched the gym for Seresin before you sighed and nodded. “Woulda hoped his reaction had been different, though.”
“Oh my god, (Y/L/N), you cannot be serious. He was practically buzzing afterwards. The whole night he kept looking at you like he expected you to do it again and mean it.”
“No. Bullshit, Trace. You cannot be serious.”
“Why the fuck would I lie?”
“He hates me!” You groan, spinning in a circle.
“He does not. He wants you, Raptor. Do it again tonight. You’ll see.” You looked at her like you hated her, and she laughed with her full belly. “What do you have to lose?”
—
This time, when you set the hat upon your head, Hangman’s eyes widened exponentially and his mouth opened slightly.
“You know what that means, (Y/L/N)?”
“Yessir,” you murmured, waiting for him to move.
“Well then shit, let's get going.”

task force 141 + ice skating
Characters: Simon "Ghost" Riley, John "Soap" MacTavish, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, John Price, Alejandro Vargas, Rodolfo "Rudy" Parra
Warnings: none
A/N: screaming crying throwing up i have my two hardest finals tmmrw halp
guys we've finally got the gang back together
alright so let's be real for a minute
the 141 is definitely not the kind of group to coordinate an ice skating date outside of work
i mean can you imagine like six grown behemoth men at an ice skating rink with like some rando child whizzing around while half of them struggle to even get on the ice
yeah right
so when they do ice skate i see it happening while they're on duty
it's winter (duh) and they're up north so it's extra cold
the base they're staying is right next to a giant lake, which has finally frozen over
gaz was the first to notice
he was eating some breakfast (cocoa puffs) and he looked out the window and saw the lake all icy
and he pointed it out to price who was drinking some coffee and reading the newspaper on the couch
price got up to go check it out too (and u bet he did that thigh slap grunt combo men do)
and gaz was right, the lake was completely solid
and i like to think that the 141 usually has breakfast together/hangs out in the commons in the morning
so price asks if everyone wants to go skating
ofc most of them are happy to say yes
ghost needs some convincing but he gets there eventually
for some reason that base had a bunch of skates
but it worked out so no one's complaining
and don't ask how they had the right sizes or why they would be there in the first place (it's through the power of i have to sleep soon and i can't come up with an explanation rn)
so everyone starts making their way outside to the lake
alright time for some super speedy individual headcanons
simon "ghost" riley:
sorry but ghost definitely does not know how to skate
that's one of the reasons he was so apprehensive to join
it's hard to look intimidating when ur falling on ur butt
and it's not like he has a wall to hold onto
this is also his first time ice skating because he never got to do it as a kid
so yeah going into it he was pretty nervous
he doesn't even have the best balance to start out
but he's a fast learner and he was able to get the hang of it pretty quickly
definitely fell over a few times
much to the delight of soap who got to gloat as he helped him up
and ghost definitely said something like "watch your tone sergeant im still your commanding officer" to try and defend himself
it was not very effective
but once he gets the hang of it he can actually skate surprisingly well
he doesn't skate very long though until he goes back inside
much to the disappointment of everyone else
definitely skates with his hands at his side or in his pockets tho
except one time he almost face planted bc he couldn't use his hands to catch himself
so now he's extra paranoid about skating with his hands in his pockets (as he should don't skate with your hands in your pockets, it's dangerous)
john "soap" mactavish:
surprisingly good at ice skating
skated around a lot when he was a kid
roller skating and ice skating
so it comes pretty natural to him
he hadn't done it in a while but skating sorta like riding a bike in that you never really forget once you know how
he can do the like crossovers and stuff but not any super fancy tricks
def knows how to skate backwards tho
likes to skate super fast and then just go around in loops
laughs at ghost whenever he falls but ways helps him back up
he also had to teach ghost how to even skate
ghost was not very happy about that arrangement
but only because soap kept joking that ghost looked like bambi
ghost got his revenge though when after soap laughed at ghost for falling, he immediately faceplanted
and it was like a comical faceplant
his legs almost went over his head and everything
soap had to go inside after that because he got a bloody nose
in the end it was fine though and he went out and kept skating
soap's definitely the kinda guy to build up speed and then coast on the momentum with his arms out to his side
it makes him feel cool what can i say
kyle "gaz" garrick:
alright so gaz is a pretty decent skater
he's gone a few times recently with his younger siblings
so he knows the very basics
he's definitely a little more timid about it though
especially after watching everyone else keep falling over
for what it's worth he never fell over once tho
but he was also super duper paranoid about falling through the ice
he had to help out price a little bit too at the beginning
he wasn't very good at it though so soap ended up taking over
definitely is a more mild skater
he's just down to coast and do whatever
he gets cold pretty easily too so he's usually rubbing his arms or his hands together while he skates
also is really really really bad at stopping
especially since there's no wall
so he just kept continuously skating like the entire time
and then he had to coast until his momentum ran out when he wanted to go inside
john price:
alright so price skated a little when he was younger imo
he went on a lot of roller skating and ice skating dates back when he was a young adult
but it's been a long time since then and so it was kinda hard for him to get back into it
so he had gaz and soap help him at the beginning
after a while though he got back into the rhythm
and he started to get more and more gutsy
and started to try little tricks that he was able to do before
skating backwards, turning a little, those fancy stops where they like skid on the ice
at one point he messed up and fell though
and like a true old man he hurt his back
and lord was it a struggle to get off the ice
he had to get gaz and soap to come help him up
when he went back inside ghost was drinking some tea and asked him why he was holding his back like that
for fear of sounding like an old man, price told ghost it was nothing
the next morning though his back was super stiff though
but nothing he's never experienced before
alejandro vargas:
bro man's is actually cracked at skating
like price he definitely went on ice skating dates back when he was a young adult
but unlike price alejandro has actual moves
like he can skate backwards, forwards, on one leg, he can do turns, jumps
it's actually insane
like nobody knows how he got this good and he refuses to tell anyone anything except that he just went on a lot of ice skating dates
because the truth is that one year he had a crush on this girl who was super into figure skating
so he spent like the entire year watching figure skating clips from the winter olympics and stuff and practicing and his local skating rink so he could impress her
she ended up moving away before he could show her though
but he still kept on practicing because at that point he had just sorta fallen in love with ice skating
so yeah when he pulled up on that lake he shocked everyone
alejandro spent a lot of time helping rudy too
and yes they did that thing where alejandro held rudy's hands and skated backwards while rudy got pulled forward
i mean it's a skating staple it has to happen
rodolfo "rudy" parra:
alright so like ghost rudy's never skated before
he didn't realize they had a skating rink and he's also not really a fan of the cold
like i said before he tends to run cold so he needs a lot of jackets when he goes skating
alejandro had to teach him bc rudy truly had no idea how to do it
unlike ghost he was not successful quickly so alejandro spent most of the time holding his hand and guiding him
he definitely fell down a lot of times
wanted to give up at one point but alejandro made him keep going
and it was worth it because pretty soon after that he started to get the hang of it
he actually really enjoys ice skating
what can i say it makes him feel like elsa
definitely jokingly did elsa's hand movements and pretended he was controlling the ice or something
he had to start off skating super duper slow though because he was really nervous about falling
but by the end he was able to speed up and live his ice queen dreams

You Make Loving Fun - Warren Rojas x FReader
Summary: You weren’t really a relationship girl. Sure, you had no problems with some fun and this was the era of free love, but you preferred to keep things as just fun. So, when your friend introduces you to the drummer in her band, why does he make you want to change this rule so badly?
Warnings: implied sex, recreational drug and alcohol use, adult language
“Karen, I swear I cannot get drunk tonight! I have a shoot tomorrow and I cannot be hungover. No drugs either, they make me sloppy in the morning.” You warned, looping an arm through your friend’s.
She tilted back her head in a laugh. “I promise to keep an eye on you, party pooper. You’ve got to have a little fun, though.”
“Of course I will, I just don’t want to mess up this gig. I’ve worked so hard and things are too fucking competitive out here. I will do my best to loosen up a little bit, though.” You gave her a grin that mirrored her own.
Karen was one of the few good friends you had out in LA. You came out here to pursue modeling after you were scouted soon after high school, and you’d spent the past couple years working hard at it. Not to brag, but you were doing alright for yourself. You were grabbing a drink with some coworkers of yours, which you had to admit were a little insufferable and bitchy, when you met Karen.
Now here you were, at a party thrown by Karen’s new band. The Six seemed like cool people, Karen definitely liked them better than her previous bandmates, so that made them okay in your book. She was right though, you did need to relax a little bit. This party might’ve been just what you needed.
“Everyone, this is my good friend, YN. Y/N, that’s Graham, Warren, Eddie, Billy, and Billy’s lovely wife Camila.” Karen announced to the group.
You exchanged pleasantries with everyone before more people started arriving and the group dispersed. It wasn’t long before Karen drifted off to talk to Graham and you decided maybe one drink wouldn’t be the end of the world. Loosen up, you told yourself.
“Hey, Y/N, I’m Warren.”
You jumped a bit as you finished pouring yourself a glass of wine, startled by the immediate presence of a curly-haired man.
“Oh, hi, and I remember.” You chuckled as you turned to face him. He was cute, in a playful way. He seemed genuinely happy, which was something a lot of aspiring musicians these days didn’t exude.
“So, Karen tells us you’re a model, that’s pretty cool.” He gave you a nervous grin.
You nodded. “Indeed I am. It’s not as glamorous as it looks all the time, though.”
He leaned against the table, very obviously trying to be flirty. “Well, I’m sure if it’s you doing it, it looks plenty glamorous.”
That earned a laugh from you. He was funny. And actually quite attractive, you decided. “What else has Karen told you about me?”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, she might have told us that you can be a little stuffy.”
A shocked expression took over your face. “Did she really? Wow. That hurts.”
“I didn’t say I believed her.” Warren shrugged.
“No, she’s kind of right. I’ve been working a lot lately and my agents have me under a pretty strict routine. That’s why I came tonight, to have some fun.” Your lips turned up in a sly smile. A rush of satisfaction flooded through you as Warren’s eyes traveled down to your lips. Two could play at this little flirty game he had started.
Suddenly, Karen showed up with Graham and Eddie in tow. “Hey, we’re going to go smoke out back. Do you two want to join us?”
You considered for a moment. If you stopped drinking now and only stuck to some weed, you’d probably be okay in the morning. “Sure, I’m in.”
“Really?” Karen looked pleasantly surprised.
“Yeah, apparently someone is spreading the rumor that I’m ‘stuffy’ and I can’t have that circulating.” You sent her a playful glare.
“Well, you heard the lady, let’s go.” Warren grinned.
About an hour later, the five of you sat out back in a comfortable haze. Karen and Graham had gotten surprisingly touchy with each other, and Eddie seemed hilariously out of it. You found yourself sneaking numerous glances at Warren. Weed made you a little horny sometimes, which you probably should’ve considered before agreeing to this.
Luckily for you, Warren was also sneaking glances. You could tell the wanting feeling between you two was mutual.
Before long, Karen and Graham slipped away, and Eddie wasn’t long to follow. That left you and Warren alone.
“So,” He sat up beside you in the chair you two shared. “Did you have fun tonight?”
“Yeah, I really did.” You gave him a lazy smile. “How about you?”
“Me too, but I have fun all the time.” Warren chuckled .
An easy smile played on his lips and you found yourself staring. He did radiate this comforting sort of vibe…honestly, he radiated fun. You weren’t sure at what point you started leaning toward him, but he had leaned in too.
Before you knew it, his lips were locked on yours and you had your hands entwined in his mess of dark curls. He gave you a chance to break the kiss, just in case it wasn’t what you wanted, but you didn’t. You only kissed him back hungrier.
Everything about kissing Warren was thrilling. It felt like light speed, but also as though the minutes had dragged into hours. At some point, he’d shifted you into his lap to where you were straddling him and his hands drifted comfortably to your hips.
“We could…take this upstairs to my room. If you want to.” He whispered breathily into your ear.
“Sorry, I only fuck guitarists.” You whispered back with a joking smirk.
“Shit, I guess Graham will have to give me some lessons then.” He let out a raspy chuckle that sent a flutter of warmth through you.
You kissed him again, with the same passion resuming almost immediately. “I suppose I could make an exception this once.”
– – – – – – – – – –
You were still grinning as you tugged your dress back on. Coming to this party had definitely been the right decision.
“You don’t have to leave now, you know,” Warren murmured from the bed.
All giddiness faded from you immediately. You never stayed. Relationships were messy and stressful. Your work was stressful enough for you, so you tended to keep your personal life more casual.
“I should go, I have a shoot pretty early in the morning.” You didn’t look at him as you put your heels back on.
He was silent for a beat. “Well, could I call you sometime?”
The pit in your stomach only deepened. You felt guilty at the tinge of rejection in his voice. There was something else too, though, but you couldn’t quite put a name on this other feeling.
“Warren, listen, I’m not exactly looking for a relationship right now. I’m sorry.” You grimaced, unable to make eye contact. Normally, you didn’t have to do this part because most guys didn’t question things when you left right after.
“Could I call you if we don’t make this a relationship thing?”
You didn’t really do repeats either. That bordered too close to attachments usually, but something in your gut made you nod. Deep down, you kind of wanted to see him again.
“Yeah, I think that would be okay.” You said hesitantly.
After writing down your number, you slipped out the door and went to find the exit. As you sat in the cab on the way home, you realized that the odd feeling you couldn’t name earlier was longing. A part of you had wanted to stay with him. Honestly, you weren’t sure if you trusted that part of you.
– – – – – – – – – –
You and Warren jokingly liked to call each other sex friends. It was a fairly accurate label, to be completely honest. Yeah, the arrangement started off as a sex thing, but you found that you had actually gotten to know him over the past few months and you enjoyed his company.
Karen brought you along to a decent amount of band functions if you were off work, since your schedule was patchy sometimes. You enjoyed the extra time you got to spend with her, but you didn’t hate seeing Warren more too.
You and Karen were lounging on some chairs in the studio one afternoon while you waited for the rest of the band, who were almost all usually always late.
“Why aren’t you with Warren?” Karen asked out of the blue.
“Why aren’t you with Graham?” You returned.
She sighed and stared off at the wall. “You know why. I love my work, and I’ll never be the woman that wants to settle down. I don’t want to give this up, and being with him would require that of me in the end.”
You shrugged. “Same for me. Work comes first.” Karen considered your words for a moment, and you could tell she didn’t quite believe you. “Just say what you’re thinking.”
“I think that for me, my work makes me happy, and this is the life that’ll make me happiest. If that’s true for you, I respect that one hundred percent, but I don’t think your work makes you happy like I’m happy.” You were about to protest, but she stopped you. “No, listen, I’m not saying you need to be with Warren to be happy. That’s not it. I’m just saying that you should really consider if this lifestyle is what you truly want in the long run.”
God, you hated when she was right about things. You couldn’t even challenge her because while it may not have been what you wanted to hear, there was some truth to them. Did you want to spend forever just working and going home to an empty apartment? Hell, it’s not like modeling is a career that lasts forever. Did you really want to pour your whole life into a career that would be done with you before the next decade was up?
“And for the record, I do think you look happy with him. He definitely is happier with you. I’m not trying to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, I’m just saying that, for the record, that’s what it looks like.” She added and gave you a small smile.
You couldn’t go into the Warren spiral again. Not now. Your mind had been drifting there all too often lately.
“I think I need to go.” You mumbled and grabbed your purse.
Karen stood up with you and put a hand on your arm. “Hey, please don’t. I didn’t want to make you angry, I just thought you needed to hear it. Please stay.”
“I’m not mad, Karen. I’m just frustrated that you’re right, so I think I need to be alone to do some thinking, okay? I’ll call you tonight.” You grabbed her hand and gave it a quick reassuring squeeze before you headed for the parking lot.
The universe, it seemed, had shitty timing. Keys in hand, tears starting down your face, you opened the door and ran straight into Warren himself.
“Hey, Y/N, what’s…wait, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” The smile that formed upon your appearance quickly faltered from his face.
You shook your head, not wanting to deal with any of it right then. “I’m fine, Warren. I’m just going home.”
But he couldn’t just let you leave. No, you had to pick one of the most decent guys in LA to be in a situationship with. He didn’t move from his spot in front of the door. “I don’t think you’re fine, and I would appreciate it if you didn’t try to drive yourself home like this.”
“Dammit, Warren, why do you fucking care!?” The words were harsh and you didn’t really want to say them, but they slipped out anyway.
“Because I care about what happens to you. I just, I don’t know, I just care about you, okay?” He kept his voice calm.
“I didn’t ask that of you.”
“I know, but I can’t help it.”
You let out a shaky laugh. “The funny thing is, I didn’t want to date anybody because I didn’t want the distractions and complications, but here we are. Here I am. I’m a fucking mess. It doesn’t matter that I didn’t want to love you because apparently I don’t get to decide those things myself.”
He looked stunned for a moment. “You love me?”
“Yeah, Warren, I do.”
“Can I tell you that I love you too, or is this a bad time for that?”
That mustered a weak chuckle from you. He always could make you laugh, even from the beginning.
It really hit you then. Loving Warren wasn’t this painful, terrible thing. It was passionate, and warm, and fun, and it felt good. Maybe it wasn’t in your plan to love someone, but you hadn’t met Warren when you decided that for yourself. Love didn’t have to tear you apart, it could be a thing to keep you together.
“No, I want you to tell me. Please.” You sniffled, looking up at him through your teary eyes as a fresh wave of tears were about to ensue. These were the happy kind of emotional tears, though.
“I love you. I’ll love you for as long as you’ll let me.” Warren said softly.
He bent down and kissed you then, and as he did, you got the feeling that you would let him love you for a very long time.

If You Flirted
<Prev || Part 15 || Next>
You: *fidgets and reaches for the vampire bite* Hi *smiles* I’m (Y/n) Judith Black
Rosalie: Rosalie Lillian Hale.
You: … *stutters* ah right. My. My brain… stopped. *chuckles* you ever have one of those days…
Rosalie: *smiles* not very often, no. Do you tend to be this deep in the forest, alone?
You: *raises eyebrows* I’m not alone. I’m with you. But I guess you can say I’m out in the forest often just never on this side
Rosalie: and what do you do in the forest
You: *smiles* stop and smell the roses
Rosalie: *chuckles* that was bad
You: *chuckles* you loved it. *holds out your hand* you wanna go for a walk? Stop and smell the roses with me
Rosalie: *smiles and takes your hand*
You and Rosalie: *starts trekking through the forest*
You: *jumps over a log and holds out your hand for Rosalie
Rosalie: *gets over the log with your help* not very use to seeing the forest from this low. It’s pretty
You: *hums* not as pretty as you
Rosalie: you know, for someone who turns into a wolf, you’re surprisingly really charming
You: *blushes* oh, I could say the same about someone who sparkles in sunlight.
Rosalie: well at least I’m not hairy
You: Fur keeps me warm in the cold, Well warmer.
Rosalie: *suggestive* I’m sure my icy touch could warm you up just fine
You: *blushes* is that a promise
Rosalie: *smirks* maybe
You: *brings intertwined hands to your lips and kisses Rosalie’s hand*
Rosalie: you can ask me anything you know. I won’t bite, we’ll unless you asked.
You: You seem like the type…
You and Rosalie: *reaches a two-tier waterfall*
Rosalie: *notices the bite mark, frowns and reaches to touch it*
You: *flinches*
Rosalie: *pulls away* sorry
You: *grabs her hand and places it are your heart* it’s okay
Rosalie: what happened?
You: my friend Quil and I were up in Seattle. I was angry with my brother’s obsession of Bella and Quil missed his friends who were in the pack. We were ordered to not interact with our old friends. I found a loop hole, Quil wasn’t my friend. A newborn caught my scent, came after Quil and I. I couldn’t shift, not when Quil was close, so I jumped into the newborn’s path. It allowed time for Quil to shift for the first time and kill it. And I felt a burning pain, passed out and woke up the next morning. Or at least I think it was the next morning
Rosalie: *caresses the scar*
You: I’ll gladly bear the pain if you’d like to leave marks
Rosalie: I couldn’t do that to you
You: *whispers* you could have me anyway you like
You and Rosalie: *forhead touches*
Rosalie: *whispers* it feels so good but so wrong. To have you complete me in such a short amount of time
You: what can I say, I guess I have some sort of charm *kisses Rosalie’s cheek* you complete me too.
