But to anyone new to the situation, there is an anon spreading hate & misinformation about @bambinella & it all came out of the blue after blocking a specific person. They’ve also tried to spread rumors that she is a predator, rapist, pedophile, & zoophile, all of which have 0 fucking evidence to back it up

Ha! I wish I had good ones? I really am just the pettiest when it comes to Orodreth.

Mostly it boils down to: Finrod ran that place for like 400 years and things were FINE (always barring that whole Fen of Serech incident and the whole oath-that-might-have-gotten-everyone-killed fiasco). But then Orodreth got the reigns for less than thirty and he built a fucking bridge?! And just...trotted out to go see that dragon in the neighborhood? Buddy. Come on, now. You couldn't hold onto a well-fortified hidden kingdom for three decades? I get losing Tol Sirion when Sauron came knocking (dude is freaky) but Nargothrond?! In less than 30 years?! My dude.

But in honesty, most of my petty bitch-ness around him is more HC than canon. He has always showed up in my head as the most straight-laced of the group. I have absolutely no reason for or way to explain this, but he is the St. John Rivers of the Noldor in my head.

So anyway, HC Orodreth is constantly judgy of all his kin for the whole leaving Valinor thing (despite having also gone along with it if he wasn't born in Beleriand) and can get a bit preachy about it. Also he ends up being rather condescending re how much Finrod brings the Edain in on everything and thinks it would be better if they stayed more aloof. He has some feelings about habits and mannerisms Finrod picks up from his time hanging out with his new friends. (Uncle, this is distinctly undignified behavior.)

But then when a human shows up in Nargothrond on his own watch and is kicking enough orc ass that it makes Orodreth actually look like he's heading up some decent military accomplishments, he lets it go straight to his head and just shrugs at any good advice, including a direct voicemail from the literal Vala who told Finrod to build the damn place in the beginning.

So...yeah. Nothing really of depth, just extremely petty beef with ol' Orodreth in what is probably an entirely unfair way since most of that is just a ton of extra-canonical fluff that popped into my head for no reason while reading the Silm, but is now embedded beyond repair.

Holy… WHAT?! How was that bombshell just dropped in the epilogue like it was nothing!!!

This book had me hating each of the main characters! I seriously wished bad for all their endings, haha. But just as I was getting super annoyed with one character, I actually started to feel for them. And then just when you think that one nice character is making a bad judgment call, you realize it was all intentional!! And though another character wasn’t good, but wasn’t totally bad, it turns out they’re just as bad as the other character! I’m sorry that’s confusing, but I can’t spoil it!!!

This was such an intense ride and though you think you’ll have it all figured out, I assure you, you won’t. Hence the bombshell in that epilogue.

Seriously, this was insane.

* Who the fuck is burying a body?!

* Wow. Eve’s husband, Nate, is really just… even-tempered. I don’t trust him already. You’re married to Eve for 8 YEARS and you kiss her three times a day and fuck only once a month? You’re sketch, dude.

* Oohhhh, Addie. What did you do? Inquiring minds want to know.

* Enter mean girl Kenzie. Yeah, I’d have picked up her bag and flung it down the stairs. Fuck that petty bs.

* Oohhh. So Addie accused Arthur Tuttle, a teacher, of something and made him resign..? And Eve is totally in Arthur’s corner and disliked Addie because “Arthur is a nice man” 🤔

* Wait… so wtf happened? They’re alluding that Addie accused Mr. Tuttle of something but she’s saying she didn’t..?

* Her husband is being hit on by the new, young hot teacher? And he’s not dissuading anything? He’s totally cheating. Maybe not with the new teacher, but with someone.

* Oh lord. Addie said she didn’t care if Mr. Bennett was hot and now she’s smitten because he likes Edgar Allen Poe and he WINKED at her. This is gonna be a rollercoaster.

I also love how you reiterated that he’s not good with words so instead he channels what he’s feeling into his craft and Chip, bless her heart, understands that this is him trying to apologize and sends her own olive branch in the form of the lavender coffee 🥺

Lol her beating herself up for not being petty enough and giving Carmy the cold shoulder for a while longer/indefinitely is such a mood

But they don’t seem to realize the effect they have on each other and it’s too late for Mikey to realize it at all 💔 I’m not crying

I think wildly enough that poll went to frisbee that fucking plate or don't destroy either. I went with it as a sort of trolley problem for chip LMAO-- Like letting the Cat do it's thing was not pulling the lever, and putting the plate back inside was like well this is what i'd normally do. And listen plants can grow back.

But to be honest in the original concept of Just Dropped that plate was getting yeeted out the fucking window it was gonna be . so sad.
