The sound of raucous cheering rings out throughout the crowd of the 'Dog Pit' Den, Harlem's most prolific underground fighting spot. Fighters from all over the city come here to try and earn a living wage. Backbreaking, degrading work, boxing, kicking, and spitting in the no-rules ring. A crack, a cheer, and the sound of a collapsing body, before the announcer yells that Matias Lopez has taken yet another challenger down. A sweaty, tanned man hops back and forth on his feet, arms raised in the air as he celebrates his victory.
"Ladies and gentleman, Matias 'The Mayhem' has taken down yet another challenger! You know what that means! Make some noise!" The announcer yells, and the room shakes with boos and cheers, the stomping of feet making the ground tremble. "Matias Lopez has won the 500 dollar Rookie Fighters Championship prize!" Another round of yells, and Matias spits on the ground. He makes his way out of the cage, kissing the rosary his mother always makes him wear, even when he's cracking skulls in an illegal cage-fighting circuit. To be fair, she doesn't know. He sighs, tearing his fist-wrappings off and running a hand through his sweaty locks. He changes out of his outfit, switching into a casual gray hoodie, a pair of sweats, and some slides. After reapplying deodorant, he hears someone outside. One of the guys who runs the 'Dog Pit' has come to give him his check.
"Yo, Matias, my man!" He greets, slapping a hand on Matias's toned shoulder. "Me and some of the 'execs' as we've taken to calling ourselves are gonna hit the club', you in?" Mattias, clicks his tongue, and shakes his head. "Nah man, not tonight. I gotta get home n' see my girl. I was supposed to be home earlier." He glances down at the floor. "Shit, alright man, here's your check. I'll see you later." Mattias nods as the man heads out, stuffing the check into his duffle bag, before sliding out the alley exit.
Matias and you have been dating for a little over a year now. Both of you met in a pretty rough part of town, he was working a day-job at a gas station, and you were a cafe worker. He'd come in occasionally, claiming that the gas station coffee just wasn't up to his standards. He scared you, at first. Mattias has a very tough exterior, tattoos and muscles, but an even tougher interior. He was kind of stoic when you first met, and you couldn't quite get a read on him. He wasn't outwardly flirty or affectionate, which is why it took six weeks of him stopping by the coffee shop for him to pull you aside and ask what he was doing wrong, and why you weren't picking up on his advances. You had explained, and shortly after that you began dating. It was only a month or so into dating when you had learned of his cage-fighting career, but he assured you that he was tough, and no guy was gonna hurt him. You both needed the money on the side, so you reluctantly agree. That's what leads up to where you are now, passed out on your couch, waiting for him to come home.
He heads towards your shared apartment as quickly as he can, taking the subway about 8 blocks east, before running up the fire escape to the flat's balcony. He knows you deadbolted the door any time past 8:00, and doesn't blame you. It's kind of a dangerous neighborhood, and he feels bad enough leaving his girl home alone as much as he does.
"Pobre mami, espero que no me haya esperado." (Poor mami, hope she didn't wait up for me.) He pulls up the window, making sure to slip in quietly, in case you had already gone to sleep. As he places one foot on the floor, the wood barely creaks beneath him, when he hears a soft groan coming from the couch.
"Matty?" You mumble, sitting up from the plush couch and rubbing your eyes, trying to make out his large silhouette. He sighs, tossing his bag to the side as he stretches "Hey, hermosa, did I wake you up?" He asks, looking at you with his usual hooded gaze. "I guess, I don't think I was asleep that long..." You run a hand through your hair. "How'd it go?" He smiles softly, chuckling. "You know me, baby, I don't lose." He sits on the arm of the couch. "Gotchu' five hundred dollars, gonna' get you something real pretty with it." You sigh, and shake your head. "You've got me plenty of gifts, what we should be doing is saving up for somewhere else to live." You explain. He shrugs. "Yeah, you right, you right. That's my bad." He puts his hands up in surrender. "Well, if you aren't gonna let me get you somethin' pretty, you outta lemme' take ya to bed." Before you can react, he scoops you up in his arms, causing you to squeak.
"Don't scare me like that, God!" You smack his chest, but your hand only bounces off his firm pecs. e chuckles. "Gonna' have to hit harder than that, mami." He flicks off the living room light as he carries you to your shared bed. He lays you down, gently this time as opposed to the times he throws you on the bed, usually to pin you down and tickle you, saying things like '¿Qué pasa, bonita? Solo empújame, no es tan difícil...' (What's wrong, Pretty? Just push me off, it's not that hard...). Sometimes though, his manhandling isn't that innocent. As you snuggle down into the bed, Matias strips off his hoodie, and you blush at the way the light coming in through the blinds hits his chest. He lets out a soft groan, as the plush mattress and soft bed sheets soothe his sore body. Matias bites his lips as his eyes trace over your sleepy form, and he rolls over onto his side, tucking an arm around your waist.
"Mmm, no Matias... m' too tired tonight." You whisper, your face scrunching up. Matias was never a very soft guy. Playful and devilish, sure, but soft? No. His hands were calloused from years of bruising skin and bloodying faces, working and scrounging every penny he can get to get a better life for himself. Deep down, he couldn't imagine placing these damaged, dangerous hands on something as soft and sweet as you. He could snap you in half if he desired, and the thought terrifies him.
"What, no baby... I'm not tryna' smash at-" He looks over at the clock. "Shit, 1:00 am already? Jesus Christo..." He turns back to you. "Just wanna hold you, mami." He presses his long torso up against the curve of your back, pressing his face into your curls and inhaling your scent. "You feeling okay?" You ask. He knows he doesn't. He knows he should have been home for you sooner, and it didn't help that he had to make a stop on the way back home.
He feels a sense of dread in his stomach. You won't ever know about the stop he made, you were asleep. Besides, he comes home late all the time. What you will learn about is your bloodied new co-worker being found with his skull smashed in, just a few blocks from the cafe. Due to the graphic scene he left behind, it's sure to be on the morning news. Matias hadn't expected your new friend to be working the late shift, but he was still on an adrenaline high from the fight, and god... he couldn't stand the idea of that bitch getting to spend more time with you than him. He wants to be home for you more, he does, but he can't. Still, that doesn't mean he's going to let any other guy fill that void. Hell no.
"I'm fine, Hermosa. Just sore from the fight, wanna' hold my baby." He whispers, placing a chapped kiss on the shell of your ear, making you flinch. "That tickles..." You giggle. He smiles, and squeezes you gently. "C'mon, stop being silly. Necesitas descansar, especialmente después de quedarte despierto para mí." (You need to sleep, especially after staying up for me.) He scolds. You roll over to face him, and tuck your head into the crook of his neck. "Love you, Matty." You sleepily coo, before drifting off in his arms. He freezes, his breath labored for a minute as he looks down at you. Even now, after dating for so long, he can't process the softness of you juxtaposed with the beatings he both takes and gives every other weeknight. It's a transition he sometimes struggles to handle. He feels a smile creep onto his face, and he curls your small form into him, practically cradling you against his broad chest. God, he'll take on an extra five challengers next time, all for you.
"Gonna get you a penthouse baby, real nice neighborhood too. Somewhere safe, somewhere that makes me feel better about leavin' you all alone..." He whispers, knowing you can't really hear him. "Better not have anyone but me over, no fucker's from work, aight'? I'll kick the shit out of any of em' just for you..."

YEAH YANDERE XMEN LET'S GOOO
Anyways, I will look forward for any of your yan!x-men works. And I kinda hope for platonic mentor Scott Summers or Gambit(even if I don't see Gambit as a yandere it would be interesting to read about it)
𝐈 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐒…
!!! GN reader, dual-wielding yandere mentors, strict Scott, power abuse, manipulation, stalker Remy, no respect of privacy, the slightest bit of infantilism, I’m probably forgetting a lot cuz I’m really bad at warnings, pretty mild.
Tumblr media
*Clutches my head like I’m taking psychic damage* AHHHHHHHH, THE VOICES!!! THE VOICES!!!! THEY’RE GIVING ME IDEAS!!!!
First off, you basically predicted one of my WIPs. Something about Scott’s base character just screams platonic yandere to me, and I probably couldn’t write a non-yandere fic about him if I tried. So!! Because I’ve already got a little something cooking with solo Scott, lemme give you the best of both worlds of your asks; yandere mentor Scott and Remy.
A dynamic like this would be completely uncoordinated. Their mentoring styles are polar opposites, and it doesn’t help that they can’t see eye to eye with each other on most things. So expect this to be a tug of war between what is essentially a strict dad and chill uncle. Scott will get done lecturing you about staying out late (he doesn’t want you dozing off and getting lazy during missions, that’s all!!), only for Remy to whisk you away on a late night patrol (with ice cream as a treat!!).
To fully understand what you’re dealing with here, let’s do a quick rundown on both of them on an individual level.
Scott: Overbearing as fuck. He might start off as harsh and borderline brutal, constantly singling you out and critiquing everything you do. Should anyone raise concerns over this, he’d be genuinely confused. He’s not treating you differently from the other X-Men!! You just need a little more tough love, that’s all!! He sees your potential and wants to bring it out of you so you’re ready for anything and everything!!
It would probably take a near-death experience on your end for him to finally soften up on you. He’s still strict as hell, don’t get me wrong, but at least he’s more encouraging than berating!! But now he keeps you glued to his side during missions. And doesn’t let you go on missions he’s not on. And only allows you to train with him. And starts getting more involved with your personal life. And basically keeps you on a tight leash with everything.
He definitely abuses his authority as field commander to get you to behave. Don’t wanna listen to him? Fine, you’re sitting out for the next couple of missions. What’s this? You think it’s unfair? If you won’t listen to him now, then what good are you in the field, huh? He’s only doing this to make you a better team player!! Now go to your room and think about what you’ve done.
Remy: Extremely hands off. The word “mentor” is used loosely when describing him, as he really doesn’t see himself as such. All he does is makes sure you don’t die on missions, gives you profound life lessons, then goes on to contradict that life lesson with some reckless move (text book example of a do as I say, not as I do kind of teacher). His laidback nature makes it easy to confide in him, and he’s always happy to lend an ear to his petit!
Meanwhile, his yandere side kind of runs counter to this. Yes, he’s extremely lax with you, but only because he knows where you are 24/7. There are trackers in all of your clothes so he can check in on you periodically. Not because he doesn’t trust you!! He really doesn’t give a shit what you’re up to as long as you’re not doing drugs or whatever. There’s just this nagging fear in the back of his mind that you could be in danger, and he wants to make sure he can save you in time. He also has a habit of snooping through your things; again, not because he doesn’t trust you, he’s just curious and has no sense of privacy when it comes to you (and also because he likes to leave behind little trinkets for you to find later).
While I don’t see very many situations where he resorts to this, it’s best to keep in mind that Remy’s a master manipulator. If you’re up to something he doesn’t particularly like — maybe you have a crush on someone he doesn’t deem worthy… which is just about everyone — he’ll easily talk you out of it, playing whatever card he feels necessary. There may be the slightest bit of infantilism (“you’re too young for mushy romance, petit!”), but nothing too heavy handed; he mostly does it to tease.
Okay, with that out of the way, let’s get back to their dynamic.
As said before, they don’t really work in tandem with each other. They just kinda coexist as your two mentors that constantly butt heads with each other. Scott sees Remy as a bad influence on you, and Remy basically does everything in his power to spite Scott. What’s this? Did mean ol’ Cyke lock you in your room? Good thing Gambit’s next lesson is to teach you how to pick locks (but that does not mean you can sneak out and do your own thing. Stay where Gambit can see you, damnit). It pisses Scott off to no end and Remy thinks it’s hilarious.
Now, there’s a very slim chance that they come to some sort of understanding. Sure, Scott has a stick up his ass and Remy is a bit reckless, but they at least share a common goal of keeping you safe. This is when they start (begrudgingly) working together, with Remy turning a blind eye whenever Scott oversteps his leadership role while Scott checks in with Remy for your current location. They’re absolutely not best buds with this setup, but they’ll at least tolerate each other for your own good.
They’re kinda like your divorced parents in this set up.
But, again, the chances of this happening are very slim. Scott will do everything in his power to keep you away from Remy’s influence, and Remy doesn’t trust Scott enough to agree to “sharing.” It would probably take a dire situation for them to work together. Just as a one time thing; it wouldn’t be permanent.
Overall, I love this dynamic. It helped me visualize a yandere Gambit better (despite him being my favorite, I wasn’t sure if I could hit him with my yanderefication beam), and of course I’m gonna write the X-Men’s resident yan-dad. I wanna write more so bad.

I'm going to have full cohesive pitches for these books as individual experiences sometime soon, i swear, but since I 1) just finished rereading thousand autumns (first time where it wasn't a third mtl), 2) am rereading peerless for the first time in years, and 3) am reading sleuth of the ming dynasty for the first time ever, I've been thinking a LOT about meng xi shi as an author and trying to scrape together my thoughts. Because I think she's really stunningly good! She's one of those authors whose skill just SHINES through, even when a translation is weak, and that's always something so fascinating to me.
But at the same time, i have a harder time raving about her books than most of my other faves. Trying to pitch thousand autumns to friends was something I really struggled with! The other two are easier, by nature of their central dynamics, while yan wushi cranks this one up to nightmare difficulty mode. But I think that it also provides an example of what I might be having to recalibrate for.
Like, I'm an easy binch. If Hua Cheng is leaving a necklace for Xie Lian early on, or Luo Binghe is noticing Shen Qingqiu's leaves right at the beginning of their books, I'm hootin and hollerin, I'm drumming my heels on the floor. And Meng Xi Shi is NOT about that instant gratification lifestyle. We're not having dessert before dinner, and there is some INTRICATE plot shit happening in all these books that is not getting muscled aside for indulgent ship time.
I'm absolutely certain it's a conscious choice, and one i respect the hell out of, especially since all of these books have the characters woven in with actual historical figures, which always manages yo take me by surprise. I assume details like keeping a wholeass imperial prince secret until he's five are fictional embellishment, but... nope! Actual history! The SCOPE of these plots and the politics they all muck around with means that there are limits to how much an author could spend time on ship bait without trivializing the central conflict. As much as i enjoyed golden stage, i never cared about the politics. And not caring about the politics in meng xi shi's work would be jettisoning SO much nutritional content.
And, that's not to say that there's NOTHING indulgent for me in the earlier parts! Yan Wushi starts delightedly letting people assume he's plowing Shen Qiao as soon as they start traveling together, Feng Xiao spends the second mystery of Peerless totally disguised as Cui Buqu's wife and fighting with him as "this wife", and Sui Zhou and Tang Fan start straight-up cohabiting POSTHASTE. And then. Meng xi shi makes you wait for it.
This isn't bad! The delayed gratification is very GOOD! The tension is delectable. The feeling of 'oh come on now you're just dragging this out on purpose' is mitigated by having characters drag things out in character. Shen Qiao's sense of responsibility pulls him towards Yan Wushi, and then away from Yan Wushi (and yan wushi is also Helping sfhfgdf). Feng Xiao doesn't move THAT fast, but Cui Buqu will Literally Die before he'll admit he has tender feelings. And Tang Fan is textually scared to lose what he has platonically with Sui Zhou by stepping into unknown territory. I'm still howling OH COME ON, but it transmutes into something directed at the characters, not the author.
And the plots we're making space for like this are hefty bois. All of them have heavy political themes, where in my usual diet, i would reluctantly accept a little politics on the side in my ancient chinese fantasy meal. And each of these books has baited me further into caring about mundane politics 😂 In Thousand Autumns, it's very much a balance between lavishly described fantasy martial arts extravaganza and big politics enhanced by the martial arts extravaganza. Peerless, we're down one martial artist in the lead characters, so there's more non-fighting politics happening (and both characters are secret police commanders), but at least one of my boys floats around playing magic music on his guqin. Fourteenth Year Of Chenghua? Goddamn, I'm reading this thing and I'm in the THROES over ancient chinese imperial office politics, like oh noooo oh my god HOW COULD THEY DEMOTE HIM AT A TIME LIKE THIS, fffff, who can possibly intercede with the emepror now-- And i have NO idea how i reached this point, this is so funny to me.
I do think it says a lot for all three of these that they won me over so hard despite not being as tailored to my personal tastes as something like mxtx! I do love all them to pieces. But it's something like... Digging in at the earlier, slower stages of these books was a hell of a struggle. One that paid off, but i worry about people bouncing off them! Something I've said about thousand autumns (and will say again) is that it's a book that asks for a lot of trust from readers. Some of that is PURELY down to yan wushi, but the structure and pace doesn't make that easy. I do think that the trust is repaid by the end, at least in terms of my reading experience, but it makes me worry! I do want people to read these!
Actually that brings me to the last big strong point I want to mention before i get back to reading: the character writing. Because GODDAMN, the character writing. It both contributes to the slow start in these books, I think, but also MASSIVELY enriches the emotional payout as they progress.
Yan Wushi is one of the funniest, most obnoxious characters of all time! He's also cruel, demanding, and overbearing, and a strong, vivid personality like that takes real time and effort to develop. The beginning of the book looks like it could slip into misery porn + stockholm syndrome healing cock = i guess this is a healthy relationship now. And it doesn't! But it's hard to tell how it WILL go, and that makes it hard to commit to a tome like this. Feng Xiao is comparably obnoxious and hilarious, but Cui Buqu is closed up tight as a clam, and both of them deal in secrets professionally, it is HARD to start accessing any hints of emotional sincerity in either of them. And Tang Fan and Sui Zhou are both junior government officials, early in their careers in a volatile work environment, and they present in a pretty reserved, professional way at first, and the subtler/goofier character notes take time and intimacy to properly manifest. wang zhi on the other hand--
I recommend these books! I really recommend them! I don't want to be underwhelming people with 'oh, you won't like it at first, but JUST YOU WAIT.' Because I did like them at first. They didnt elevete me to the same flailing emotional THROES as some novels, but the quiet rich flavor of the relationships in these are FABULOUS. And the sheer scope of the plots she pulls off, I mean, holy shit. I'm not underwhelmed by these books at all, I'm more likely to get overwhelmed, there's a reason I've been savoring the latest reading experience. I like them a lot! I like meng xi shi as a lot! In the sliver of cnovels that I've sampled, her books are doing some really cool things i haven't seen anyone else pull off, especially with such aplomb. I didn't start out LOOKING for books like that, but I'm still really, really glad i found them, and I do highly recommend them, just in general. I'll figure out how to pitch them individually soon.
*holds probably over 1.5M words of meng xi shi tomes* I Just Think She's Neat

idk if this ask went through previously because tumblr crashed as i tried to send it in, so i'm gonna just resend it 🫶 i apologize if you get duplicate asks in your inbox about this!!
i've been thinking about yan trey after you mentioned him and jade tag-teaming a darling (´▽`*)
he'd just be so good at slipping something into your drink at a party, using paint the roses to mask the flavor of it, and his nice-guy persona is the perfect cover for whisking you away somewhere a bit more private! nobody would suspect a thing, not even you, because he just doesn't seem like 'that kind' of guy 😭
he also strikes me as the type to gently mold his darling into what he considers to be 'ideal'! be it the way you dress, act, anything really; he's patient and good at playing the long game, so i think it'd be a piece of cake (haha) for him!
(i've also been thinking about yan jade and trey tag-teaming a darling 😭💗💗 they're both quite similar in rationale, though trey has a little less of a predator vs prey mindset and actively tries to come across as trustworthy and kind, whereas jade has no problem with revealing a darker side to tilt a situation in his favor. idk i just think their dynamic in regards to a darling would be super fun!!)
Omg yes!!! He has this very reliable older sibling type of vibe—something you just can’t help but trust and rely on because he’s always so kind, caring, and helpful. There’s no way he could ever do something as dubious as slipping something into a dessert he’s prepared for you. With his unique magic, it makes hiding what he’s done so incredibly easy. There won’t be any suspicion from you because you trust him, and if he’s worried you might taste something off in the dessert he can just twirl his magic pen and change the flavor under the guise of being innocently playful. But when you do start to succumb to the effects of whatever he put in your food, he’ll be there to offer assistance. It’s almost too quick and smooth the way he sidles up next to you and wraps an arm around you to help you stand and walk to a more secluded area so that the two of you won’t interrupt the unbirthday party.
You’ll probably see him as your older sibling because that’s really how he acts around everyone. It’s just in his nature to be protective and caring because he looks after his little siblings. Of course being in the brother zone stings and he’s not even sure if he’d prefer the friend zone over it, but at least that means you’ll see him as harmless, sweet Trey. He doesn’t stand out very much, he’s always polite, and he’s so patient and resourceful when it comes to dealing with problems. Obviously he’s just a good person all around!
Along with molding his darling into his ideal type, I think Trey accomplishes this by easing you into very domestic situations with him. When he asks if you’d lend him a hand in the kitchen, it’ll really feel like you’re lovers baking together, the way he carefully ties an apron around you, the way he teasingly swipes flour from your cheek, the way he stands so close, nearly pinning you to the countertop, while he reaches over to turn the next page in the recipe book. Or when you spend the night at Heartslabyul with Ace and Deuce and he’s there to offer you an extra blanket or a pillow if you need it, even going so far as to offer a spare set of nightclothes if you require them. And the way his clothes fit on you if you wear them... It makes him think of how nice it would be to spend Sunday mornings with you in a nice house where the two of you are married and you’re in his shirt and he’s in his trousers and the two of you sit to admire the rising sun with coffee or tea and pastries...
Trey and Jade pining for the same darling is so fun because Jade loves unexpected situations, so when he learns that Trey also fancies you he becomes even more competitive just to see what Trey might do. Jade might even try to make Trey jealous if he’s actively attempting to push every button Trey has in hopes of getting an amusing reaction. They do have similar aspects! They’re both observers, and they know how to seamlessly diffuse situations and how to do things that will benefit them at the end of the day. It’s such a good dynamic!! Trey can use your trust of him to his advantage, while Jade can use his amiable, gentlemanly façade to lull you into a false sense of security. That, and intimidation, blackmail threats, perhaps even the completion status of your contract if you’ve signed one. You think Trey might rescue you if you find yourself cornered by Jade, but imagine how betrayed you would feel if you realize he isn’t going to do anything to dispel this situation when he looks at you with an apologetic, bashful smile that doesn’t pair well with the lust in his eyes.

Yooooooooooo
Yan!ScarletWitch, Yan!Polaris and Yan!Quicksilver with reader who's like a father figure for them. Reader just saw how Magneto treats his children and decided "You are my kids now. Let's go get some ice cream"
I love the thought of Father!figure!Reader being just a normal guy with no mutation or powers, just an average Joe who sees these kids (literal adults) with daddy issues and is like, “I’m adopting all of you and giving you what you really need”.
I think Wanda, Pietro and Lorna would absolutely adore the hell out of Father!figure!Reader. I could see them indulging in the Reader and the fact that he wants to give them a fatherly relationship that they haven’t really experienced from Erik, or at the very least wasn’t due to some kind of ulterior motive/benefit for Erik’s cause regarding mutant kind. At first, the kids may go into it and accept this new father figure into their life to assert some kind of reaction from their real father, basically make him jealous and react in some way to fight for his kids back.
When that doesn’t happen though and the kids have actually really taken to the Reader and playing house like this, they don’t want anything to mess it up for them. The Reader actually takes an interest them as individuals, completely not caring whether they are mutants or not, or wanting to use their powers for his own endeavors. This man just wants to give them something they haven’t really had and that speaks volumes.
If the Reader was human and had no powers or mutation, Wanda, Pietro and Lorna would all be so fiercely overprotective of him. Especially if Erik were to try and do something, whether to get his kids to come back to his side or just due to the Reader not being a mutant whatsoever. The kids aren’t going to let anything happen to the person who has done so much for them in the small amount of knowing them than their own father has as long as they’ve been around.
Given that Wanda’s powers can allow her to do some pretty off the walls stuff, whose to say she didn’t create the Reader out of her overwhelming want for a normal and loving family dynamic. Maybe she brought someone into their lives who was the epitome of what she has dreamed of in having as a father.
I can’t help but imagine Pietro playing catch with Mutant/Powered!Father!figure!Reader, similar to how Mark and Nolan Grayson play catch in that one episode of Invincible. Only, both Pietro and Reader are in a backyard or park somewhere, then Reader throws the baseball with such force and velocity that it has Pietro running halfway across the world to catch it, and he absolutely loves it. When Pietro makes his way back to his new father, he holds up the ball he caught with such pride and exhilaration. What makes it all even better is when the Reader ruffles his hair and tells him how good he did.

Modern Cdramas I watched in 2023
This was my first year in Dramaland (both Chinese and Korean). And I have to say that for the most part I have enjoyed my journey in discovering the dramas. This list includes dramas that were released before 2023 as well.
9. Love of Replica
This one of those dramas with lookalikes where the female lead impersonates her lookalike and solves the mystery about her backstory. Also, it's a bodyguard romance so I definitely expected some things going in. It's full of cliches and tropes some enjoyable and some irritating. I have to praise Yu Yue (actress portraying the female lead), she really made me believe that lookalikes were two completely different people. The chemistry between the main couple is fire. I did not enjoy the secondary characters' romance. However the overall squad energy and their team dynamic was great. I kinda guessed the twist but was surprised by how dark the drama went. Overall, I liked most of it and I was disappointed how some of the characters ended up. If you want a bodyguard romance with kinda obvious twists with very good cast chemistry then you'll probably like it.
8. Parallel Love
This is a time travel drama (you'll see more of these in this list) where Lin Miao, the female lead travels from 2020 to 2010 and she must help Jiao Yang, who is the Vice President of Hong Yu, become the president of the company within 3 months otherwise she will disappear forever. What I liked most about is that Lin Miao is very competant and smart, even if she is not experienced for the task she will still try her best and give it her all. I enjoyed the romance and the dynamic of the main leads. It definitely has plot holes regarding time travel and the rules were not properly explained. They also did not really focus much on the time travel part and did use the potential things that they could do with time travel. However, the interaction between the present and the future Lin Miao was very well done and something that many people would be able to relate to. The business plot was medium and not very interesting. The main leads' personalities and character arcs was the reason why I enjoyed the drama. However, they left the ending ambiguous so if you don't mind open endings then you'll enjoy this time travel/corporate romance drama.
7. Love under the Full Moon
Another time travel drama with a twist that Lei Chu Xia (female lead), who has time travelled 10 years into the future can't leave Xu Xiao Dong side beyond a certain distance. Together they work to recover her memory to unravel the mysteries of the past decade. This drama has great romance, unique time travel premises further in the series, good character development for the main and secondary cast, an antagonist that seems like a real person which makes it seem like we could meet someone like them in real life and a plot with unexpected paths. However, it does have a bittersweet open ending which could make some people hate the drama. Despite that I really liked the drama.
6. Mr. Bad
One day, Nan Xing, an online novel writer makes a wish for an "unforgettable love" in a wishing pool. Then, Xiao Wu Di, the villain of her story, suddenly appears before her! She tries to avoid him, but Xiao Wu Di finds her and threatens her into taking care of him. Unfortunately for him, Nan Xing's wish comes with a special power: whenever she needs help, Xiao Wu Di teleports next to her to fulfill her wish. It's fun, fluffy and sweet with not much angst. The romance is cute and the dynamic with the secondary cast is enjoyable. The ending frustrated me but I assume they did it to pass the censors so I just pretend the last 7 mins don't exist. This is one of those shows you can watch when you just want to turn your brain off and watch a sweet story.
5. My Lethal Man
It's premise is similar to Love of Replica however here Shen Man Ning, an art student takes the place of Zhuang Xin Yan, granddaughter of a business tycoon. Yan Xing Cheng, the mysterious male lead is ruthless in pursuing the mastermind behind the threats and is not really sympathetic to Xin Yan but as they face the difficulties together they fall in love. The romance is so good and their dynamic is very different from typical ones. I found the secondary characters' romance weird and poorly done. The plot was really good and the pace kept moving along nicely. Except for the secondary romance, I had a great time watching it, I really recommend this one if you want a drama that balances mystery/thriller and romance and does a good job at both aspects.
4. Love in Time
A time travel drama again ! This is the last one though. This one is unique because the appartment in which He Zhen Yu has recently moved into merges with it's past one. This is how he meets a rookie reporter Chen Jia Lan who is a former tenant from four months ago, and through some miracle, they are able to see each other. When they attempt to prevent future misfortunes by changing the past together, their romance blossoms. Their romance was so good that I really ended up hardcore rooting for them to get their happy ending. I don't want to give away too much so all I'll say is that the time travel and its consequences were handled very well for the most part and the plot was interesting and took surprising turns. He Zhen Yu's character arc was very well portrayed on the other hand while in the beginning I related to Chen Jia Lan, in the latter part of the drama I was frustrated with her choices and how she didn't have a character growth moment. All the actors did a good job but I have to say that the main leads' acting was very good and made me very immersed in their story. All in all, I had a very good time watching it as the ending brought it all together for me.
3. Lucky's First Love
It's one of those office romances which has a light tone for the most part. Xing Yun is competent and hardworking who was there with Xia Ke when he started the company. They have been working together for years and have deep understanding of each other and work well together. Thankfully, Xia Ke is not one of those CEOs who are jerks and cold hearted. He may be reserved but he is quite caring (not in an overt way) not only towards Xing Yun but also his employees. Xing Yun does go out with someone else in the start but it doesn't last long and love triangle shenanigans are not long drawn out. The main leads' romance is sweet and depicts their daily interactions and they have great kiss scenes. The secondary couples are also great. This drama has character development for main and secondary characters, wholesome workplace and family dynamics, no over the top melodrama, lifelike workplace and relationship issues, slice of life interactions and very little angst. This is a great watch for when you need something short and sweet that's not too heavy.
2. Ordinary Greatness
The show mainly focuses on novice police officers that are starting their one year long mentorship. They soon discover that the grass-roots work is different from what they imagined, and, after some struggles, they're gradually moved by the sense of achievement and honour gained in their work. Throughout the show we explore their characters, their comraderie with each other, with their mentors and with other police officers at their station. We also get to know their mentors and other police officers at the station which immerses the audience in the show deeply. It is a slice of life type drama, where most of the cases are not major crimes. All actors knock it out of the park with their emotional as well as subtle portrayals. This show depicts how even small acts and seemingly tedious and insignificant work really have great impact on people's lives and that the people doing such grassroots work contribute just as much and are just as important to the society if not more as the people doing big acts like taking down criminal gangs. While some situations and cases are specific to China, everyone will be able to relate to majority of them. I must say this is a must watch drama.
1. Arsenal Military Academy
This is a Republican era drama in which Xie Xiang assumes her brother's identity to join the Chinese army and is accepted in the Arsenal Military Academy. While she is the main lead the story also follows Gu Yan Zheng(main lead) - a spoilt quarrelsome rich kid, the gentle and introverted Shen Jun San, Qu Man Ting - a famous actress and singer and secondarily other cadets, their teachers and other locals. It has great comedy, really good romance (including their hilarious bickering), enjoyable action and entertaining dynamic of the cast. All the actors did an excellent job here, the standouts being Bai Lu, for portraying being able to convincingly play the female role and the female disguised as male role all while knocking out her emotional and comedic scenes and Xu Kai, who can forget his electrifying performance as a lovable troublemaker. I have to warn you that the story gets serious in the last 10ish episodes and that the love triangle does drag out a little bit longer than it should but it's resolution is still good. To me the drama didn't seem overly patriotic so I didn't have a problem rooting for the characters and their goals of protecting and improving their country. This ranked first because it's romance, characters and their comraderie won me over completely.
You can also check out my costumed cdrama rankings.
As I'm still a newbie to cdramas and kdramas, I welcome your recommendations.

Anyway, let's get to it:
YANDERE! POLY MINSUNG AS CHILDHOOD BEST FRIENDS
Tumblr media
Jisung and Minho have been pillars in her life since she can remember.
She met Jisung in kindergarten, and when they realised that their lunch boxes were identical, they decided they were best friends. Minho appeared on their first day of primary school, being new to the neighbourhood. The other kids found him scary and he never tried to interact with anyone, until one day, Reader noticed him sitting alone during break and eating his lunch in a hidden corner with a sad frown and dragged him towards Jisung. After spending a good while making him talk and sharing food, they found out little Minho was just incredibly shy and having moved to another place where he didn't know anybody made him terribly anxious, so he preferred to not speak much to not embarrass himself.
When school ended that day, the three of them were already inseparable for the remaining time. Jisung and Minho clicked instantly and Reader was the extrovert that pushed them out of their comfort zones.
This dynamic remained more or less the same as they grew. Since they lived in the same area, they hung out every day and created beautiful memories. Minho managed to get out of his lonely bubble and worked on his social skills, while Jisung learnt to take things calmly and rule himself. They witnessed each other's worst and best moments.
Reader had other people around her, but she only ever paid attention to her best friends. Minho and Jisung never interacted much with anyone besides her either. They always said "We only need each other. We're a team. The rest doesn't matter". She was so focused on them she neglected socializing with other people..which the boys didn't mind at all.
As time passed and the three of them remained as close as ever, they realized they needed her, on a visceral level. She was the sun they were constantly rotating around to to keep living. She was their personal ray of sunshine and they couldn't stand the mere notion of being depraved from that light...or having someone else enjoy it. As these thoughts started to get weight in their heads, it changed their behaviour too.
They sneakily isolated her from other people except her own family. They whispered lies in her ear, slowly manipulating her into believing that no one would value her as they did, that most people were out of to hurt her. Everytime she was about to make friends with someone, they cut that off quickly from the sides and dragged her back to them, all with the same kind smiles she grew up with so she never suspected a thing. She genuinely thought she was simply bad at socialising and her besties were her comfort zone, her eternal protectors. Yeah, they brainwashed her.
When high school started, both boys made sure to be inscribed on the same one as her, and with such luck they were placed in the same class. She never sat by herself, always with one of them at her side or both surrounding her, like human shields. For group projects they always paired together, and when the teacher separated them, it was hell for the other people involved.
They've been so smooth and cunning with their antics over the years that she has never felt anything wrong with them. She believes in them blindly. They're her precious best friends, her soulmates, her brothers. Sure, they might be a bit overprotective at times, but because they want her happiness.
At first they truly saw her only as a friend, their friends who belonged to them first. She could hang out with others, but at the end of the day, they should be her priority. They'll be the typical toxic besties that are like "you know her for five months, but we've known her for years" or "Do you seriously prefer to spend time with them over us? We're your best friends, you should think of us first!", or they'll make her cancel plans to go out with them instead. It's what they expect her to do. She must always prioritise them.
However, when their feelings for her started to become romantic, their attitude became worse. She wasn't allowed to go out with others anymore, especially boys. They made sure she was with them at all times, scaring off or threatening anyone that tried to approach her. What if someone stole her away from them, from her rightful place? They can't live without her. What are they supposed to do?
When they start their senior year in highschool (I got no idea how the education system works outside Spain) Han and Minho are in the same class, much to their delight...until they notice she's not there. Their protests are ignored, the graduation is this year and teachers have a lot in their minds to care for some "petty teenagers with separation anxiety." And so they're forced to endure the classes without her, unable to keep an eye on their girl. They're worried sick. What if something happens to her and they're not there? What if someone gets close to her and takes her? No, they can't stand it. No matter how much she promises them she's fine and can handle herself, they know she needs them. She's never been without them for long.
So they find a solution: Track her. They install a spying app on her phone to know where she is and record her conversations. They keep an eye on anyone that speaks to her longer than they like and intervene behind her back to cut off any potential admirers. This was supposed to remain only in school, but they use it even outside.
Years pass and they're already college students. Since they no longer can be in the same class, the boys find a solution: Move to an apartment and live all together. That has been their dream all along, create a routine for life together, as a team, as family. At this point, they're confident their schemes to "protect" Reader and tie her to them have all worked, so they relax a bit. They're sure she feels the same way for them, after all they did for her and all they went through together, she surely loves them just as much. She must have realised she's made for them. They even let her attend college despite hating the idea of not seeing her at all hours, because they trust her. They even slept together a few times already, so that means it's all established, right?
So imagine their surprise when she arrives one day and announces she'll be going on a date with a cute guy from her class. If that revelation wasn't enough to fuck them up, she adds that she's so happy because she's been crushing on him for a while now and wasn't sure he was interested.
All these words sound so wrong in their heads. Blurry, confusing, like she was speaking another language.
When they finally process it, they're furious. More than furious. The three of them have their first big argument since middle school and she leaves. Turns out that in the little time she spent away from them and interacting with other people helped realise that maybe some stuff just doesn't feel right with Han and Minho. She still found ways to excuse them in her head, believing it was all protectiveness but a bit extreme. So she stepped out of he comfort zone a bit and found out how refreshing it felt to have other people to talk to. Specially the guy that sat beside her in class, who always made her heart beat faster and showed her a different, softer kind of affection. One that doesn't suffocate you, doesn't hold you back.
They're mad at her initially but they eventually blame the guy. They blame everyone in the damn uni, for filling her head with lies and corrupting her. Minho claims he knew they shouldn't have supported her going to college without them, but Han says it was all his fault for stopping with their schemes to keep watching over her.
Then, they come up with a plan. One to ensure you have nowhere to go but their side and traps you forever. First, they get rid of the guy (either by intimidation...or something darker), then they comfort her broken heart by telling her that they warned her, that no one would ever love her like they do. Minho suggests having some dinner and drink to get their minds off it.
They get drunk, and they keep refilling her glass to distract her from the pain. They hug her and kiss her face, whispering sweet words in her ears. She's so sad and desperate for some affection there she lets herself go in their arms.
The morning after, she wakes up with hangover and realises they had sex, several times. It's not the first time, so she doesn't think too much about it, except for the slight uncomfortably feeling of not remembering everything. She stands up to shower herself...and doesn't check the trash cans, where there are no signs of condoms.
When she gets told that she's pregnant, it's way too late for her.

Ok an idea I’ve had for a bit is a platonic yandere villain protecting someone from the romantic yandere “hero.” I think Archie and Guzma would both suit the villain side of this because they’re both kind of like. Bestie material despite the crimes. But also I like the idea of the more morally dubious one saving the day here. Steven and Lance would both be good for the other side of this. Thoughts?
This made me realize that I have never written anything yan related for Steven ack—
I find this concept interesting! I fully agree that Archie and Guzma are buddy material when it comes to platonic yandere stuff. They're very protective of you, to the point where they're kinda like guard dogs around you. They do let you hang around people, but they still keep an eye out in case someone crosses a line.
Especially when they see Lance/Steven come into the picture.
Of course, Steven is not okay with Archie hanging you at all. He has a strong sense of morality (ironic, right?) and he isn't very fond of Team Aqua and their goals. Feeling is mutual, Archie detests Steven for the fact that he knows that he's a yandere. Those charms and honey coated words don't fool him for a second! He knows that eventually, Steven will make you choose between them and he's not looking forward to that day.
The same dynamic works with Guzma and Lance. Guzma scoffs at Lance, seeing him as a person who stands above others just because they're gifted or whatever. Oh...but deep down, he's insecure and afraid. He's scared you'll choose Lance over him because of how much better he is. Guzma hates feeling like this. As for Lance, he doesn't take Guzma seriously, at first. He views him as a delinquent and advises you to please stay away since he doesn't want Guzma to influence you. You are such a wonderful person, why would you taint yourself hanging around with someone like Guzma?
Steven and Lance have this weird...hero complex(?) but it does border delusional. They fully believe it is their right to steer you away from the clutches of these...criminals. They have lied and stolen, not to mention put the world in danger for whatever their cause was. It doesn't even matter why they did it, darling. They still committed crimes that could have harmed people, so you shouldn't be around them. You'll just be another person waiting to get hurt eventually...and they won't stand around to let that happen.

currently reading: 长安少年游 by 明月倾
Tumblr media
The title roughly translates to, "Chang'an Youths' Journey".
Synopsis
Yan Junyu is the orphaned heir of a noble family that has lost its influence. At 16, his grandmother sends him to the imperial palace as a 伴读/"study attendant" for the princes, hoping he can make connections that will secure their family's future. He initially studies with the spoiled and bratty Seventh Prince, who often bullies him. The Crown Prince, Xiao Jingyan, runs into two instances of Yan Junyu being bullied, and asks for Yan Junyu to join him at his Eastern Palace instead.
As Yan Junyu settles into in the Eastern Palace, he realizes the seemingly-perfect Crown Prince actually faces serious political challenges. The threat of a war looms as tribes to the North are growing increasingly greedy and aggressive. The Prince's relationship with his Emperor Father is strained as their political views diverge. Yan Junyu falls in love with Xiao Jingyan, but he doesn't know or understand so many parts of his person and history. A brilliant entourage is helping the Crown Prince with his duties and political agenda, but someone very important is obviously missing, and Yan Junyu doesn't know if he meant to replace that missing shadow.
However, Yan Junyu is learning and growing quickly as some of the brightest people in the nation are teaching and helping him. He wants to become the great general his father almost became and help his prince build a prosperous future for their nation...
(Also, the entire novel is FREE on JJWXC!!!)
What I like about the story
Crown Prince Xiao Jingyan. I read a review that called Xiao Jingyan "the fictional Crown Prince who is most like a Crown Prince." He understands the power and responsibilities that come with his position, and has went beyond expectations with talent, hard work, and immense personal sacrifices from both himself and his allies. He barely has any personal time because he is so busy with his duties to the court, with serving his Father Emperor, and with managing his own team of strategists and advisors. He is always in control, calm, dignified, and wise, so perfect in his role as a ruler that Yan Junyu can hardly understand how to love him like a human. Even though he is perpetually calm and at ease on the surface, there is ambition, anger, ruthlessness, and even a healthy dose selfishness hiding underneath. It's obvious that Xiao Jingyan desperately needs companionship in his lonely and stressful life.
Political Intrigue. I think this is one of the best historical political novels I have read. The story is set in an alternate history, some time after the Song dynasty. Externally, there is a threat of war on the Northern Borders. Internally, the Emperor is increasingly unsatisfied and resentful of his heir as his health fails. The Crown Prince needs to balance playing a loyal son and subject while furthering his own political vision as the future ruler. I think the schemes are at Qiang Jin Jiu's level of complexity, and it feels even more complicated at times due to the constant allusion to actual Chinese history, literature, and philosophy. The Prince himself and two advisors study Taoism, Confucianism, and Legalism, respectively; their methods differ based on their philosophies and life experiences. The strategists on the other sides are just as clever, and everyone is trying to think three steps ahead. No one is treated like a cartoon villain. Even the people whose main motivations are ambition or self-preservation are shown to be rational with their priorities.
Dynamic characters! The Eastern Palace has an amazing entourage of talented people united by their faith and loyalty to the Crown Prince, but they still have their own emotions and flaws. Rong Hao, a privileged young lord, tends to underestimate the desperation and ambition of those who have to crawl their way up. Yunlan, whose history makes her ruthlessly rational and efficient, fails to recognize the anger and resentment clouding her judgement. Ye Xuanji, the Crown Princess with amazing political acumen, chooses a loveless marriage in exchange for a position of power. Ao Ji, a loyal and kind young man from a military lineage, cannot forgive the Crown Prince or his own father for the compromises they have made to stay in the game of power. They are closest friends from childhood, but also lord and subject, colleagues and allies, trying to build the future of their nation together.
What makes me go a "meh" at times
The protagonist .... Yan Junyu is basically a male ingenue. He is kind, respectful, optimistic, handsome, and extremely talented with military strategy. Xiao Jingyan loves him because he is a breath of fresh air from the political schemes that fill his world, but at times Yan Junyu's "innocence" and "kindness" are a bit much. Everyone else in the novel becomes cautious and jaded, but he remains "pure". He is also better at military strategy than generals with front line experience just by reading and playing strategy games, supposedly because he is a genius in this. It definitely feels like "protagonist halo"
The relationship arc ... Oh, where do I begin...
Despite his attraction to the Prince, Yan Junyu feels so young and inexperienced at 15/16 compared to Xiao Jingyan's 21. It's one of the few times that the power and age difference between the characters really made the relationship feel unfair. The Prince doesn't personally push Yan Junyu into anything, but everyone knows what he has in mind when he asks Yan Junyu to join his palace. Regardless of what has or hasn't happened between them, and before he really understands his feelings or Xiao Jinyan, Yan Junyu is already known as the Crown Prince's favorite and living under his roof ... did he really have a chance after Xiao Jinyan has chosen him?
Perhaps due to the reasons above, the relationship develops very slowly and takes a long time go further than kisses. They have intense feelings and affections for each other, but Xiao Jingyan doesn't share much about himself. To be fair, Xiao Jingyan is extremely busy with his duties and has very little personal time to spend with Yan Junyu, but he still keeps a calm and controlled facade even when they are alone, and it's hard for Yan Junyu to truly understand his feelings with that mask.
This is probably just me, but for once I actually want to sink the main ship ...
Yan Junyu's reputation has become entangled with the Crown Prince the moment he enters the Eastern Palace, but he does so without much choice or understanding of the implications. Ao Ji goes through the trouble of remind him of who he can be, how bright he can shine away from the palace, on the battlefields he longs for. You sort of mourn for the parts of him that may never come to be under the shadow cast by the Eastern Palace, even though he wants to stay there for Xiao Jingyan.
[Mid-novel spoiler alert] I'm on the The Xiao Jingyan/Ye Liangyu ship? I don't know the whole story yet, but at 16 the Crown Prince loved one of his study attendants, the brightest young man of their age who is meant to become the chief strategist of the Eastern Palace, an important ally to one day help him govern the nation. He loved hard enough to fight the Emperor on this, but they still split up. The Eastern Palace still suffers from this young man's departure, as Rong Hao must step up to be the strategist despite not being suited for it, and Ao Ji is angry at Xiao Jingyan's choice of wife in the aftermath. Yan Junyu is loved because his morality and character is untouched by the dirty schemes of imperial politics and their relationship is one of Yan Junyu learning to understand Xiao Jingyan and his world. Ye Liangyu is literally the antithesis of all this, as someone who grew up meant to be an integral part of it, and I just find that so much more compelling. I almost don't want to keep reading because I know this relationship is dead, but I love it so much!
I'm rushing to post this because Ye Liangyu is returning to the Eastern Palace to help with a political crisis, so I may feel very differently soon!

Game, Set, Love: A Yu Qing Romance - Chapter 7
Tumblr media
As they returned to the courts, Qi Lin couldn't shake off the lingering embarrassment from the misunderstanding. She stole glances at Siyang, who seemed lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Zhou Zhi chatted merrily as they walked, lightening the atmosphere with his witty remarks. Qi Lin found herself gradually relaxing in his presence, grateful for his ability to diffuse tension.
Upon arriving at the court, they witnessed Baiyang's failed attempt to return the ball, resulting in a point for Lu Xia. Qi Lin observed the match intently, her mind buzzing with thoughts about how she could improve as a manager.
Pulling out her notebook, she began to scribble down some notes, realizing that if she wanted to excel in her role, she needed to learn more about the team dynamics, individual playing styles, and strategies.
"Am I seeing an Ah-Yan from an alternate universe?" Zhou Zhi teased Qi Lin, but her mind was too preoccupied to hear him.
Her thoughts raced faster than the tennis ball in front of her as she mumbled to herself.
"Baiyang's style may be an aggressive baseliner, while Lu Xia is an All-Courter. If this goes how I think it will, Lu Xia could end up winning by 7-6."
Just as she was jotting down her thoughts, Baiyang executed a remarkable move known as the snake ball.
"A buggy whip shot?" she asked herself.
"No, it's some kind of variation that curves the ball with it."
Intrigued by the technique, Qi Lin turned to Siyang and Zhou Zhi, eager to learn more.
"Can you guys explain how that works?" she asked, her curiosity piqued by the move.
"It's called the Snake ball," Siyang began.
"It's a low trajectory, slicing shot that curves because of the high amount of side spin," he explained as he adjusted his glasses.
Qi Lin made an "ohhhh" sound in astonishment.
"Thank you for the information!" Qi Lin said as she got back to writing heavily in her notebook with her eyes sparkling with curiosity like a cat who spotted a prey. The two players beside her couldn't help but sweat drop at her antics.
As the match progressed, the intensity increased, with Lu Xia and Baiyang both sweating profusely as they continued to battle it out on the court. Qi Lin observed the players closely, her mind racing with strategic insights.
Turning to the two players beside her, she asked, "Is Baiyang tiring out Lu Xia by making him run back and forth?"
Zhou Zhi responded this time, saying, "That's his strategy. Baiyang's high endurance allows him to wear down his opponents, making them feel like they're being coiled by a snake."
Siyang added, "In this match, it's not just about physical endurance, but also mental strength. Both players are pushing their limits."
Qi Lin nodded in agreement, noting, "Baiyang seems to be slowing down and making more errors with his snake ball technique."
The match continued with Lu Xia securing another victory, showcasing his skill and adaptability on the court.
Siyang commented, "They're both exhausted but the difference is one saw through his opponent, while the other is worried that his strategy didn't work."
Zhou Zhi just smiled at his comment, while Qi Lin continued to write in her notebook.
As the game continued, Lu Xia executed another impressive move, this time baffling everyone except Qi Lin with the mimicry of Baiyang's snake ball technique.
Qi Lin sighed in disappointment as she closed her notebook, recognizing it as another example of Lu Xia's pettiness and mimicry when it comes to playing tennis.
"Despite being talented, he never really learns," Qi Lin remarked, voicing her frustration.
Siyang agreed saying, "He should stop imitating others. It would only hinder his full potential in the long round."
On the other hand, Zhou Zhi chimed in saying, "I think this thing makes it a lot more interesting. Don't you think so?"
With that last shot, Lu Xia was declared the winner of the match. On the other hand, Baiyang's frustration became apparent as he vented his anger by hitting balls furiously.
Qi Lin flinched at this behavior, which didn't go unnoticed by Zhou Zhi.
"Don't worry, Qi Lin. This is perfectly normal." He said as a reassurance to her.
She nods and gulps, still worried about Baiyang's behavior.
She shifts her attention to Lu Xia who is now exiting the court without saying a word.
"Well done, Lu Xia!" She exclaimed.
"Thanks Jiejie." He replied nonchalantly.
Qi Lin got ticked off and her aura turned dark as she pinched Lu Xia in the cheeks. Stretching it in and out while saying, "How many times do I have to tell you to stop imitating Uncle?"
"Not only that, you're pettiness while playing seems to have no bounds also. Hmp." she ranted to her 'younger sibling', who still seems unfazed by all her blabber.
"Qi Lin. We need to go to the office." Siyang said.
She exhales deeply and lets go of Lu Xia's cheeks thinking that he'll only learn this when the time comes.
"Fine, I'll drop this for today, but reflect on what I've said," she stated firmly as she turned away and headed towards the club's office. Lu Xia nodded slightly in acknowledgment and bowed respectfully to the Captain before the two's departure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As they stepped into the office, Coach Qi looked up from her desk, her gaze shifting between Siyang and Qi Lin. "Is everything sorted?" she inquired, her tone businesslike.
Siyang nodded, handing over the score sheet. "Yes, Coach. Here are the results for today," he replied, his voice steady.
Coach Qi went up and pinned the score sheet to the board, her brows furrowing slightly as she studied the numbers. "Lu Xia defeated Baiyang. What a surprise," she remarked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.
"Yes. Everyone was nervous. If we can keep it going until the provincial competition-"
"That's good. You seem to like Lu Xia." Coach Qi intervened.
"You know Lu Xia always intrigues other players, Mom." Qi Lin butted in.
"He does. But it's still refreshing to see."
Siyang ponders while the mother-daughter pair converse.
"I still don't know what he's made of," he started.
"For now, I just let him play with different players."
Coach Qi sighs and takes a seat. Qi Lin takes a seat as well and brings out an orange fanta to drink.
He then continued, "As captain, I have to know my players well-"
"Auntie!" Qi Lin shouted in excitement, running towards her aunt's desk not noticing the other two people in the room.
"Aunt-" she stops in front of the three and regains her poise.
"Yes?"
"Uh, Coach. I can't find Lu Xia anywhere," she began.
Siyang avoids Qi Ying's gaze and fixes his glasses, while Qi Lin looks up to her younger cousin with a cheshire cat grin.
Qi Ying continued, "So..." but trailed off thinking of the right words to say.
"So?" Qi Lin asks, wiggling her eyebrows up and down with her smile never fading.
"I came to see if he's here." Qi Ying finished.
"Do you care about him?" her aunt inquired.
"No. no." shaking both of her hands profusely. "I just want to congratulate him."
Coach Qi snickers and sips some water from the glass while her eyebrows stay up not believing what her niece had said.
Qi Ying shifted the conversation from her aunt to her older cousin saying, "Jiejie, did you already know about the list? Why didn't you tell me?" She pouted.
"Senior Siyang too," she murmured.
"I didn't know about it 'til moments before we posted it. Plus you didn't ask me anything," Qi Lin defended.
Siyang jumped into the conversation and said, "From what I remember, I think I told you that the list was finalized."
Qi Ying looks down as she shyly answers, "I didn't know Lu Xia was in it."
There was a brief pause, giving Qi Lin a moment to gather her thoughts before she spoke up. "Considering Lu Xia's dedication, I wouldn't be surprised if he's practicing even without an opponent. He might be in the indoor courts or at a nearby tennis court," she suggested.
Qi Ying's excitement bubbled over as she hugged her cousin from behind, exclaiming, "Thanks, Jiejie! You're the best!" With that, she hurried off, leaving the trio to their discussion.
As time passed, the conversation among the three continued, flowing smoothly. However, Qi Lin soon noticed the sun dipping below the horizon, signaling the approaching night. She interrupted the discussion, addressing her mother. "Mom, shouldn't we head home soon? The sun's setting," she pointed out.
Coach Qi's expression shifted, realizing her forgetfulness. "I'm sorry, dear. I completely forgot. I have a late meeting regarding the club's financial support," she explained apologetically.
Disappointed, Qi Lin tried to protest, but her mother had a request for Siyang. "Could you accompany Qi Lin home, Siyang? It's getting late, and I'd feel better knowing she's safe," Coach Qi asked, turning to him.
Siyang accepted the responsibility without hesitation, assuring Coach Qi, "Not a problem, Coach."
"Thank you Siyang"
"Don't I have a say on this?" Qi Lin added
She was faced by her mother, saying the word 'No' in a smiley yet scary face.
"Here are the keys," Coach Qi said while giving them to Qi Lin as she prepared her bag and other stuff before leaving the office
Coach Qi bid them farewell, "Take care, you two." and left the office.
"Take care Mom/Coach," they synchronously said.
As the two were left in the office, the awkward silence between them stretched on. Qi Lin shifted uncomfortably, feeling the weight of the silence pressing down on her. Finally, she cleared her throat, breaking the tension.
"Let's go," she said, her voice sounding slightly strained.
Siyang nodded, understanding the urgency to leave the stifling atmosphere behind. Without a word, he turned and led the way out of the office, his footsteps echoing softly in the empty hallway. Qi Lin followed closely behind, her mind still swirling with the events of the day.
As they reached the exit, Qi Lin unlocked the door and pushed it open, allowing a breath of fresh air to sweep into the dimly lit corridor. Siyang stepped outside, holding the door open for Qi Lin.
"Thanks," she murmured, offering him a small smile as she passed through the doorway. Siyang nodded in response, his expression unreadable as he followed her outside.
Once they were both outside, Qi Lin locked the door behind them, signaling the end of their day at the office. Together, they headed home, the events of the day lingering in their thoughts as they walked.
It just very baffling how I finished 2 books in the span of 2 weeks when I barely even read any of my tbr list. Like what the fuck is up with that?
Anyways, I think my reaction about First-Class Lawyer is already quite late, since ei already finished another book already, so I should start with that.
First-class lawyer wasn't really something I planned to read. I saw it in passing ages ago, from angieloveshua who gave it under recommendation. What caught my eye by that time was Po Yun, which I had already finished (and just realized never managed to make a post about it, the sheer plot with that is still driving me mad and my love/hate/love relationship with one of the characters still bothers me til this date).
Anyways, First-Class Lawyer was oomph. The plot was wow, just wow. It wasn't pain-numbingly boring, as what I always thought when it comes to lawyers and I agree with that comment that if you ever read it, you'll want to be a lawyer (but we know at this point the difference between fiction and reality 🙂). First-Class Lawyer delivered to me a futuristic world full of intertwined events that were all part of one big plot. The mystery were sometimes kinda predictable but I was hit by the end some chilling revelations that I did not expect (the sweeper was a freaking chilling character like holy shit). I also loved how they opened my eyes when it comes to court proceedings. It was interesting to delve on the strategies lawyers take up to defend their clients. However, it did not show much about the shadier sides of lawyers, about how defending a known guilty person to reach a not guilty plea and victimize one lawyer even. While yes, it showed Yan Suizhi and Gu Yan taking cases where they defend clients who they knew weren't innocent, but it sweetens this event and showed how they made it seem they got away with it but still met justice (kinda optimistic in the real world). But I'm not gonna delve deeper on that because it fiction (and I should not apply much the rules of reality to the world created by an author creating a world different from.the reality we live in, respect and all). So I'll end with that
And now we come to the real and central part of this story. Zhe Romance 😎.
At first, I thought it was going to be a slow-burn, but after some revelations from our dear Young Master Joe, the fall was fated to happen.
I had some qualms with Teacher/Student relationship because I kinda see a teacher as someone's second parent. Additionally, I'm bothered with the age difference. The novel did downplay the age difference a bit, making Yan Suizhi a young and promising lawyer, youngest First-Class Lawyer ever, so he's probably around his late 20s when he became a teacher to a 18 year old Gu Yan? Correct me if I'm wrong. (Honestly, the novel muddled my brain from figuring out their age difference, so correcting me clears up this great mystery). However, there were still the power dynamics. I already tasted dom/subs lit before, but honestly got turned off if it ever blossomed into a relationship. So I was guarded how the author will play this power dynamic between the two.
And then, I saw they switched it up?? So the teacher undercovered as a disciple and the disciple became the teacher?? But sometimes, the intern behaves like his former self and the student allows it but doesn't bow to him?? And, it blew away the teacher/student dynamics. What I saw was how a close senpai and his kouhai interact, basically imagine 2 people who are friends but one is older than the other. It doesn't really feel teacher/student at all. And that was refreshing. The story did dabble about how uncomfortable it is about their previous relationship of being a teacher/student but both agreed to, not per say forget about it, but rather not delve deeper to it and affect their relationship. It was mind-blowing, and allowed me to regain my interest in teacher/student relationship.
Gu Yan. Gu Yan, Gu Yan , Gu Yan. How could anybody hate this adorable person. He has a cold exterior but within that is a very soft interior. He may act harshly and not pay attention you when you speak. But you could always rely on him when it really needs. And this tenderness ways is showed to the world when he interacts with Yan Suizhi.
Sigh. Gu Yan is something else. The sheer amount of pinning our dear Gu Yan had for his Dean Yan has been contained for so long, (10 fuckin years (although some demon pinned for 800+ years but we don't compare in this post, we all honor their pinning no matter how long, what matters is their feelings)), and the fact he still restrained himself, no matter how near that person was. He clearly prioritized Yan Suizhi, and made exceptions, although quite inappropriate, so that he could be comfortable despite living under a different skin. He was very considerate and his care towards the person he love was chosen. And god, the fever chapter was so satisfying.
But me liking Gu Yan doesn't refrain me from loving the troll. Yan Suizhi is a very amusing MC. His self-confidence is downright laughable that I kept on laughing at god knows what hours as he believed his acting was damn good, unknowing that his student already cracked his identity before one month ends (I'm not sure exactly when Gu Yan figured it out). And the way he solved his problem freely without thinking much of other's perception, just how he is being his unrepentant self is exciting to watch. He's humor is something relatable and the way he behaves with the people around him, how he teases everyone, especially when he's in a bad mood, is just golden. Their faces, I can't stop laughing.
But, what I valued the most the whole time is his interaction with Gu Yan. The way his guard is lets down, that's when he see his true self. Because, the way he treats everyone in the novel (about 3/4 of the story) still require some acting, since he's supposed to hide it in the first place. The only times he could be himself is when he's alone with Gu Yan, and he does that unconsciously. He found Gu Yan comfortable, and after some flashback, has felt this way for quite some time even back in their teacher/student days. Just the way Gu Yan acts differently from the people around him attracted his attention to him and everything falls to place.
Yan Suizhi is enclosed by this mystery. No one in his circle could ever pierce that bubbble, and neither could we, with how little the author gives about his past until around half of the story(?). And we learned that he put everyone within arm's length, never letting them too close and lives with that great of anonymity for quite a long time. And, I could relate with that. No one knowing who you are and settling to die with the fact that no one would never know you (I'm remembering Klein now as I type this).
We saw how Gu Yan slowly peeled layer after layer of Yan Suizhi and loving those parts unconditionallh. I cherished the point where Yan Suizhi slowly shared himself to Gu Yan, allowing one person to know his story, willingly share a part of himself to Gu Yan and that was beautiful. We slowly learn of him as he slowly started to depend on Gu Yan. And we saw this person, who has always been independent and alone find someone he could depend on.
And that's just sweet and what made me stick knowing their ending, a seemingly fairytale that I always wanted to have but will never deserve.
Besides the main ship, the side ship are worth screaming for. Joe and Ke Jin, I didnt saw the potential but after realizing and learning of Joe's feelings made me root for them finding a cure more. Like, my man has spent 3 years (probably more, not certain) in the company with the guy he loves, however, in silence. But he still stuck, and even studied psychology to tend his daily needs. Now I wonder why I didn't saw that with that much dedication. And seeing them together at the end felt satisfying seeing Joe be with the person he loves not being addled by a mental burden. I see a hint of George and Zhao, but I'm not sure if I'm interpreting things or there's a possibility there. Also, I want Eunice and Laura too.
I should probably end it to that. Just realized I amde a fuckin essay. Sorry if it's a bit too long to read, but like I said, don't like it don't read it. This is just me trying to be unrepentantly myself. God knows I need a bit of Yan Suizhi's self-confidence.
Ahhh is requests open? If it isn't,please ignore this!! :,)) But if it is,could I request for NSFW hcs for Yandere Hanma Shuji? Thank you,take your time :D Don't rush yourself and remember to stay hydrated and well rested!!♡
🔞 yan!hanma nsfw hcs 🔞
Tumblr media
ok ill be honest i wasnt a hanma stan at first (his jp va reminded me of goofy, uk the one from mickey mouse) bUT!!!! a yan is still a yan and he looks s’hot in timeskip brrrr
tw yandere, noncon, predator/prey dynamics, knifeplay, bloodplay, marking/branding, hANMA’S A CREEP LOOKING FOR GIRLIES RUNNn
# if you’re (un)lucky enough to capture the affections of this gentleman of gentlemen, you can kiss any and all personal space goodbye 👋🏻
hanma shuji is a bastard creature who’s almost two metres tall but the second you’re caught in his crosshairs, he will not hesitate to throw those lanky-ass arms over your shoulders, launch himself onto you so hard you stumble on your feet, while he starts babbling all sorts of weird shit. as if he’s your boyfriend. as if it’s his god-given right to just cling to you whenever he wants. he’ll bury his face in your neck and just… breathe in. deep. just sniffin’.
( “you smell so nice baby. ah, so delicious i could just eat you up~ have you been touching yourself recently? i’ve been feeling all lonely and horny without you~ why don’t you take care of it for me? no one does it better than you do. if you treat me good, i’ll give you a little reward~” )
# and if you try to push him off or snap at him he’ll pin your arms to your side so you can’t struggle, grinning as if he likes that you wanna get rid of him, and nevermind if you’re in public — he’ll croon what a disobedient little girl you are, letting out a throaty chuckle, licking up your neck until you shiver — and then he’s herding you off like his little sheep, because he’s so much taller and bigger than you are and he can practically drag you along to wherever he wants, regardless of how much you struggle.
but he likes the chase, so he’ll let you disobey him sometimes.
maybe when you kick him hard in the shin he pretends to falter a bit, lets his grip loosen just the slightest, enough so you can break free and run off — but just be warned, it won’t be long before he’ll come searching for you. whether you’re hiding away in your friend’s house (the same friend whom he has charmed to hell and back), or cowering in your own closet (silly girl, he knows where you live), he’ll always find you and take you back. always.
and it just might be the thrill of it that makes him want to play with you like this — just wants to see what lengths you’ll go to to escape, see how desperate you’ll get (and if you beg or cry or both, even better), because all those expressions of yours when he finally has you cornered, has you writhing under him, are just too cute to stay away from.
# but if you ever try to injure him in any way? well, then he’ll be pissed.
he’s done so much for you, showed you how much he loves you, even played along with your little game, and you seriously think that pathetic little pocket knife is enough to keep him away? (all it did was put a scratch on his lip anyway.) he’ll shove you so hard onto the floor that you get disoriented as hell, and he grabs you by the ankles and yanks you under him like a ragdoll, scowling with his teeth bared (and there’s just a hint of a malicious smirk on his face, as if he can’t believe what you’ve just done) and oh. you’ve really done it now. he’s really, really mad.
“you wanna be a fucking bitch don’t you? fine. bad girls need to learn some discipline.”
and you don’t get away unscathed this time. he’s shoving his hands into your clothes and feeling you up everywhere, groping at your tits and ripping every article of clothing off your thrashing body, cooing in mock sympathy when you shriek and tell him it hurts it hurts, get the fuck off —
no, what if he doesn’t want to? what if he wants to kiss at your neck some more, leave a few bites here and there, make it painful of course — take your little knife, the one you tried to hurt your loving boyfriend with, run it along your pretty neck, your smooth skin, and just dip it in a little, prick you a little; just enough so a small bead of red breaks through the surface… and ah, your blood tastes the sweetest, you know that?
# the first time he carves his initials into your collarbone, it’s light. shallow. meant as a warning more than anything, that bad girls will only get what’s handed to them. but you seem completely shattered after what happened that night — flinching when he comes near, hissing at him when he tries to touch you, refusing to eat what he gives you, and that’s just not fair, isn’t it?
all he’s ever wanted is you to love him. and you do, he’s sure, because he had you creaming all over his cock the other night — screaming his name and cunt squeezing him so hard, milking him for all he’s worth, and it’s not fair at all! you look too cute when you shrink away from him, as if pretending that he didn’t make you feel good, hiding your true, dirty dirty nature, but it’s okay. he knows what you’re really like.
and he’ll make you say it often — that you feel so good, that you just love being stuffed full with his cock, that you love when he plays rough, makes you cum until you cry — it makes him feel very much satisfied knowing he’s got so much control over you like this (albeit you’re always trembling and a terrified mess and you meant almost nothing that you said)
# ah! don’t even think about going to the police. in the first place, he’s got enough sway in his hands to make your family and friends think you’re living out the life of your dreams with him, because who else to entrust their lovely girl with if not her charming boyfriend? (he simply looks like the personification of refinement, with that well-pressed suit, cool-as-a-cucumber smirk, and that controlled demeanour of his; it’s just a shame they can never manage to look past the facade)
if he catches you trying to call for help, you’ll have your clothes privilege revoked for a week (that’s all fine by him though, he likes making you cling to him for warmth when you’re cold in the winter, feeling your nipples pebble against his chest, and likes pressing his knee not-so-subtly against your pussy just to tease)
you should be grateful anyway!! he’s not going so rough on you anymore since you seemed pretty shaken up since the last time. doesn’t mean he won’t make you work for his forgiveness though. makes you ride him while he sits back and watches, refusing to lift a finger even as you whimper and struggle to sink down on him. when you’re just on the verge of cumming, mewling out little depraved noises, he’ll flip you over and thrust so deep that you see stars — and afterwards when you’re dizzy and can’t think properly he’ll still be sucking deep hickeys into your skin.
# he’s probably the kind of guy who adores going to the extreme in the bedroom. (sometimes taking it out of the bedroom, too) he’s not gonna have any problems just twisting and manhandling your body to fit his mood, using you like you’re his toy as he chases his own high. and you don’t really have the means to stop him either, so that’s just a breeding ground for his nastiest fantasies.
ah? you’ll snap in half from how hard he’s bending you? well that’s too bad, ‘cause he doesn’t feel like pulling out of this pretty pussy anytime soon. feel that you can’t take anymore after the tenth time he made you cum on his tongue? sweetheart, you feel good don’t you? just wait and see, he’ll make you feel even better, all you have to do is be good and he’ll take you to heaven. he promises. sit back tight and let him fuck you against the hood of his car real quick.
"... For she was his secret treasure, she was his shame and his bliss" -GRRM, A Storm of Swords
In the dead of night, you hear the sea calling your name.
Sometimes the sound is as soft as a love song, gracing your skin in a gentle breeze that lures you to the seashore where the waves can finally lay claim on you. Other times, the sea strikes the land in a deafening, challenging roar.
"Really now... How long do you think those mountains of his will stand in my way?"
Unbeknownst to you, the Lord of Geo watches as you try to pay no attention to it, as for a Dust Priestess that would be considered heresy. Despite being nothing short of an orphan now that your goddess is gone, you remain a loyal daughter of Guizhong, always mindful of your duty.
Morax knows that the Dust Priestesses were one of his late friend's greatest pride, praised for their beauty, intelligence, and sense of devotion. Mortals and gods alike lusted after the famous, unattainable daughters of Guizhong, the vow of chastity you and your sisters took only serving to further those forbidden desires.
But now, your goddess was gone. And those who had not perished on Guili Plains were, in Osial's own words, nothing more than spoils of war waiting to be claimed.
It was Morax's duty to protect you now. And the thought of it stirs something in him that he barely manages to cage down as his amber eyes are drawn to you. That something that had begun to blossom a long time ago, when you were nothing but a simple apprentice, not wise enough to be a Dust Priestess yet. You were so eager to gain his approval as her goddess' most trusted friend back then. If Guizhong admired him, you believed it was your duty to do so as well.
That something whispers in his ear that plain admiration is not enough. It echoes that total, utter devotion is what he should be demanding of you. Your sweet prayers should not call upon Guizhong's name but his, your true savior. He would dress you in the finest silks, instead of the modest garb that the war has reduced to little more than rags that barely protect you from the cold.
He could shield you from the cold too, and you would delight him in loud, sinful praises for it, surrounded by the glaze lilies you once cared for as he claims you as his, over and over, until there is no doubt in your mind as to who you owe devotion.
"The grand, almighty God of Contracts, reduced to his primal instincts by a girl" the sea teased, "Does it disturb you, Morax? Thread lightly while you are still able to..."
The shaky, weak coughs of another priestess ground him out of his thoughts. She is not going to survive the night, and both of you know it. But you remain by her side, tending to her wounds, whispering sweet songs about the spring that is yet to come. She is too weak to sing along but smiles teary-eyed as you hold her hand.
"... that sweet, pretty thing could never survive you at your worst."
Unlike him, Osial never had to suppress his desires, instead choosing to relish in them. Not that he was some kind of beast that had yielded to his own impulses, he had conquered them. He took whatever he pleased, waiting patiently for the right moment to strike. The amount of power and authority he had over himself could intimidate anyone, and nothing ever stood in his way from achieving what he wanted.
Until now, that is.
Not that Morax's constant intervention could ever deter him in any way, on the contrary, it only made you more desirable. Taunting him over his conflicting feelings was surprisingly fun too. He could try to keep you away from the Lord of the Vortex, but never in the way he wanted to.
While Morax debated with himself over his darker nature, Osial had carefully planted destructive seeds in your mind. His alluring call growing louder and harder to ignore as nights passed. Sometimes the Lord of Geo would find you in a trance, your eyes enraptured by the reflection of the crescent moon in the water.
As much as it torments him to think about, Morax believes that the thing stopping Osial is not him, but your duty. And that could die tonight, along with the last of your sisters. That belief makes him uneasy to the point of being unbearable, as though he is close to losing control over the beast that rages inside of him, that asks for Osial's blood, that menaces to claw its way out of his ribcage to reach you, his spoil of war.
Your soft whimpers catch his attention away from his mind once again. He barely manages to catch his breath as his eyes narrow dangerously at the scene before him.
His gaze grows darker as you cry quietly, mourning your sister's death.
Do Yanni and Jamie ever do things with each other? And if so what? Would they be into giving each other handjobs or blowjobs while one of them fucks y/n.
okay like, at first? when you first start hooking up together? no. no fuckin way that makes it weird (as if a couple dicks touching between bros is the thing that'd make it weird).
eventually, though, as they get more comfortable with the dynamic, with each other (and low key with themselves), how hot it all is outweighs that weirdness. things would start shifting, walls dropping with one coming on your face, your chest, the other running his fingers through it to feed it to you, kissing you after regardless.
soon it’s playful, nearly chirping, one groping the other over his boxers while he’s making out with you, making his hips buck involuntarily to move things along a little. and, if you’re tryna blow them both at once and their cocks rutting together a little between your hands feels kinda good? kinda thrilling? they just won’t bring it up. it’s whatever.
it’d be one night where all the almosts would build and crescendo at once, hours of the three of you winding each other up, edging blurring all your minds and all your inhibitions long gone in favour of whatever feels good, and you’d have been riding jamie: the drippy wet streaks of your juices are frothy and everywhere, all over jamie's cock, his thick thighs, when he pulls you off, puts you from the couch onto the ground and tells you to clean him up, he wants to come down your throat.
and somehow, in the fray of it, yan’s followed you down to his knees, and not even he could tell you why. he’s looking up at j, kinda wide-eyed and more innocent than he’s ever looked: it’s dirty, somehow, and yanni’s telling him "'m not blowing you.", but that's not what it looks like, yanni on his knees beside you, both of you between jamie's legs. yanni’s bare shoulder bumps yours when he sits up, uses his tongue to catch the bead of your come rolling down the side of jamie's cock.
"obviously not." jamie's kinda trying not to laugh, trying not to moan, cause he's taken aback but there’s a tongue on his cock, and he's too keyed up to fuss over who’s mouthing at him filthily like this.
"just tastes good. 's not to get you off." yanni says, but he's laving his tongue, flat and wet over the base of jamie's cock, up the underside, lapping at the frothy white layer of transparent slick left, your cum, and you were trying to help him clean up the mess you'd made, like jamie had told you to, but you find your head at rest on jamie's tense thigh, grinding your used cunt against his leg, brow furrowed pathetically, desperate.
(j would usually make fun of you for it, that desperation. he’s a little caught up, though: his head tips back for a half a second, but then he’s dragging it back, cause, god, you’re both between his thighs, and it’s a fuckin’ dream, he thinks. he can’t let himself miss the sight.)
and j would groan, "yan, shut up." the more yanni tries to explain himself between sloppy kisses to the fat cock above him, between sloppy kisses to your mouth, sharing the taste, and you’re reaching for yanni with one hand, pushing his curls from where they’re stuck to his face, and his spit’s slicking jamie’s cock up enough that your other hand can stroke the shaft in time to the mindless roll of your hips.
jamie comes with your hand around his cock and yanni tonguing a heady mix of precum and whatever’s left of you into your open mouth, both panting while J’s load spills over your hand, his stomach and thighs spattered white while that big body buckles, the man groaning loud. jamie wishes it was down someone’s throat, like he’d wanted earlier, but fuck, his boy spitting in the mouth of his girl, the pair of you framed by his thighs, his heavy cock throbbing in your hand— he can’t hold off at the sight, let alone the way it all feels.
j’s barely composed himself when he catches the telltale downward push of yan’s shoulder, a hand shoved into his boxers: you know better than to touch yourself without asking, but yan’s never given a fuck about waiting for permission, even less so when he’s so hard it hurts. besides, jamie’s not his keeper, yanni will swear it till he’s blue in the face. still, jamie kicks a calf out at yanni, only hard enough to jolt his body, pause the movement, and yanni doesn’t argue, just rolls his eyes and mutters something, then pulls the hand out of his pants. jamie clears his throat.
“you can both clean me up, this time, since you wanna behave like a pair of sluts. my fuckin’ sluts.”
I feel like I’ve found my kin, I fell in love with Kakashi when I was like 8 LOL. Can I request some general yandere Zoro headcanons btw? I loved/still love him too 😶
Yes you may ahhh!!!! I love Zoro so much. I love writing for fandoms like this bc shounen anime are... Well, shounen, they're aimed at dudes, so they tend to not have as large of a female audience so there's not a lot of content out there. I love Luffy and there's like zero girl-targeted content for him. I swear I've spent so much time looking for wholesome, decent LuNa (my otp im sorry i just hhhh) doujins that aren't super male-oriented, and there's like... 2. For a 900+ episode anime. 2.
I also love the concept of a yandere in a situation where they CAN'T kidnap you, they're limited by their circumstances, so they have to kind of adjust or go insane. It's an interesting dynamic because it eliminates the norm for yanderes.
I think I mentioned this but I'm not 100% caught up with one piece (I mean, who is?), so I'm just keeping it simplistic and going with kinda basic Zoro and nothing with specific character developments or any spoilers other than his backstory
Yandere Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
Tws: all the usuals -- yandere, noncon, kidnapping
He meets you while he's lost. I'm sorry I just. Zoro gets lost in the middle of some place they're docked, and you're just such a sweetheart, you see this guy clearly not knowing where he's going, and offer to help him. He's kind of taken aback by your softness and sweetness.
He's not easily made aware of his own feelings. He's a rough and tough sort of guy, and he has dedicated himself to swordsmanship so much that he's neglected to focus on himself and his interpersonal relationships, and he's not really self aware at all of his own feelings, very out of touch with his emotions.
Obviously, even if he tries to shove it down, Kuina weighs heavily on his mind in relation to you. He's another man that has known loss and it's dealt its damage on his psyche. He can't lose another person who's dear to him again.
This results in him becoming insanely protective, one of the most protective yans out there. He's easily one led into paranoia delusions regarding your safety. However, he's an honest and reasonable guy and can be level-headed when confronted. If someone (not yourself, as he thinks you're naive, but maybe another girl like Nami or Robin) tells him he's being overprotective and exaggerating about your safety, he may actually have a moment of self-realization and admit to it. He's capable of being reasonable enough to see it once it's pointed out to him. However... this doesn't stop him. He tries, really, he genuinely tells himself that he needs to stop. But his instincts just kind of take over. It's an impulse, to stop you from doing even the most slightly dangerous things.
Once you join the Straw Hat Crew, he just kinda... clings. It's a silent presence, but he's always there, constantly seems to show up wherever you are. Unfortunately, you can't really... get away from him per se. You're kinda limited to one ship, at least as long as you're out on the sea. Your only option for respite is going to your room or bathing, otherwise, he's gonna follow you, even if he's not saying anything and (very badly) trying to feign indifference, pretending you just happen to be going the same way all the time. He doesn't really know what to say, he's not good with these things, and often he's acting without really thinking too much about it. He won't usually strike up a conversation, he just... is there. Watches. May awkwardly ask a question or make a passing comment.
One scenario I imagine is you jokingly picking up one of his swords and wielding it around giggling and he just flips out, takes it from you and yells at you not to do that, are you an idiot? Do you want to trip and fall and have that impale you? Do you realize how easy it would be for you to slice your arm open by accident? It's startling to both you and anyone watching -- even for someone who gets yell-y as easily as him, it seems like an overreaction. He'll apologize but insist it's a safety thing, really.
And he really tries to hide his more... aggressive nature, because he thinks it will drive you away -- he's a blunt, tough guy with a short-fused temper, and he thinks that's definitely not something women like very much. He tries not to yell at you, not get mad so easy, keep his calm better around you, and might even be nicer to others so that you don't think he's mean. And for the most part, he can manage that. Except when it comes to a very specific, very problematic blonde crew member. His little conflicts with Sanji get worse, to even a point that he's snapping at him so frequently that even Sanji himself is a bit bewildered and caught off guard by it. The others notice they fight a lot more often... and Zoro always seems to instigate it, picking quarrels over the littlest things. In reality, he's afraid of the other's... sleazy nature. He can't have you falling for that bastard. He even starts to get jittery when you're in the presence of Franky, Usopp, hell even Luffy of all people. It's noticeable, and everyone kinda worries for him.
He kicks himself for it as soon as he does it, but he finds himself insulting you nonetheless. It's a terrible habit. He gets so awkward and flustered that it's second nature for him to say something snarky or even rude when you talk to him, and he immediately is just mentally screaming at himself for doing so. This will get a bit better with time, though, if you two talk more often.
Now, even if you can fight, you're never gonna really get the opportunity. In battle, he's clinging to you and protecting you at every moment, even if it costs the others some unnecessary wounds. It's highly uncharacteristic of him, and they notice. He won't leave your side, insisting that you're a weak fighter and that he has to take care of you. You just don't get it, you overestimate yourself, you underestimate your enemies, you're a girl. What, Nami and Robin? Well, they've been at this much longer than you, and they had rough upbringings. You're different. You're soft... fragile. You just can't see it. You're lucky he's here to protect your dumbass.
Due to your setup, well, he can't really kidnap you per se. He undoubtedly would if you two were somewhere else, in another life or another setting, but that's not really an option, and even as a yandere, he would never go so far as to kill or abandon his crew. So, he's stuck with just... slowly, slowly mentally deteriorating.
Now, he's not capable of kidnapping, he's not smart enough to really manipulate you into anything (although he WILL tell you that some of the other guys are out to use you), so, he's left to be the guard dog he inevitably becomes to you. If you avoid him, he'll just follow you. If you don't talk to him, that's ok. If you confront him, he'll just insist he has no idea what you're talking about, and you'll start to feel like maybe you're just paranoid. The others... don't really know what to do, to be honest. I can see Nami/Robin potentially confronting him, but in the end, they can't force him to change his behaviors, and they can't afford to lose him. This results in, gradually, everyone slowly kind of accepting your dynamic onboard. They feel bad for you, really, but... in the end, Zoro's just more valuable to the crew. Sorry. They're not gonna get rid of him, but they don't want to get rid of you either.
If you leave? It may just be one of the very very few things that could ever cause him to leave the Strawhats. It would tear him up, really, it goes against his dreams, his pride, his loyalty, but in the end... his loyalty is first and foremost to you. He'll follow you if you leave. It's a bad move on your part, because this gets rid of the only thing standing between you and kidnapping. Which, at that point, surely will happen. Like his other behaviors, he'll feel bad, he'll try and stop himself, tell himself it's wrong, but you'll end up bound in some dark basement nonetheless. He's one to take a very simple approach. Find you alone, sling you up and over his shoulder and carry you off before anyone can come.
Rejection doesn't faze him. No matter what, he'll remain by your side. Even if you never love him in return. It's just his nature, he's a guardian through and through.
In the end, he'll be right there by your side, scaring off any competitors, clinging to you like glue, ever in your presence like a shadow, forever. Whether you want him to or not. He's just an inescapable force, an unmovable object, and you're wasting your time trying to change your fate.
Now, he's very flustered with anything sexual. Highly embarrassed, lots of shame, and doesn't talk much about it. It just kind of happens. He doesn't talk much during, mostly grunts and the occasional fuck when you clamp down, occasionally asking you if you're ok, if it hurts, if it feels good. It's one of the only very soft sides of him. In the end, he really, truly loves you, and doesn't want to hurt you, he wants you to feel good and just love him. It's a very different side to him, one no one else has ever really seen, it's the most vulnerable he himself has ever been with another person.
He feels shame for it, but initially he'll definitely be one to steal your things, sit outside of your room at night, listening to you through the wall, try and get glimpses of you bathing or dressing. He really, really feels guilty, and he's one that will, once you're comfortably restrained and never going anywhere, just sit down and list out every nasty little thing he's ever done regarding you, just to get it off his chest. He understands if you react badly, and he'll apologize, which is a bit ironic considering how much worse kidnapping you is.
He'll apologize for that, too. He's actually one to do so a lot. He's normally a proud guy, but with this? He knows it's wrong, he knows it's fucked up. He knows he can't stop. And he'll be sorry to the moon and back. Just never sorry enough to stop.
He's actually a pretty vanilla guy. Hand-holding missionary type. And, despite being so embarrassed over it all, oddly romantic about it. It's one of the only things he's ever soft and gentle about, it's almost unbelievable to you that he's capable of being so gentle and slow with anything. But he'll kiss your forehead, really take his time with it all, make you cum on his fingers before ever actually fucking you. Hold your hand, look into your eyes. It would be honestly incredibly sweet if it weren't... you know, taking place in some dark sealed off room after dragging you there against your will.
If he's particularly mad, he can get rougher, but he'll apologize after. It's a lot of harsh grabbing, biting, it leaves bruises that he'll rub over softly, whispering an apology, even if a little part of him likes the way it looks on you.
