i Am watching the olympics!! my family loves it (not to the level of making olympics themed food to snack on, but to the level where we all become experts in different sports overnight and talk loudly about each athlete's performances)

meanwhile obi-wan and his horse boga are trying to sneak into the stadium where they're holding the men's gymnastics games. it's all fun and games until he sees the swell of anakin's biceps during the rings event. then it's not fun at all anymore and actually very very very distracting

i think darry probably just went by darrel at school because the right to call him darry was reserved for the people he grew up with. my own hc is that paul used to be one of the only people from school who called him darry because of how close they were, but paul didn’t stick to one name, he switched between darry and darrel. tho after the fallout, it’s exclusively darrel or just “curtis,” as a way to distance himself from the fact that they were once closer than he cares to admit.

as for the musical, i could definitely believe that at least pony and soda grew up calling him darry, but stopped as they grew older, like outgrowing a kid’s toy. especially when their parents died, the name darry kind of died with them, it’s a relic of their innocence that they can’t use anymore without remembering what they’ll never get back.

i kind of also want to get into why the coordinators of the musical chose to change darry’s name over dally’s, when they just as easily could have had dally go by dallas and kept darry’s nickname. and this is where the reaching starts so don’t take me seriously i’m just being a D1 yapper rn

but to me the decision to keep dally’s nickname is a symbol of the fact that dally literally is a child. to the average audience member who has little to no knowledge of the source material, “dally” is probably a little bit childlike and serves to remind them that no matter how touch he acts, they’re watching a kid make incredibly big decisions for other kids

darrel meanwhile is the designated adult of the group, and that’s only by circumstance, not because he genuinely is old enough/has enough maturity to handle it. but by taking away his nickname, it emphasizes the point to readers/movie watchers that darrel can’t afford to be seen by anyone as too young or childish, not even the audience. he’s hiding behind even his name to put up the illusion that he knows what he’s doing, where they’re going, how they’re going to get there.

So let me tell you about my year…

On my very first day I made a friend, Rhiannon. We ended up being in the same squad too - Fourth Wing, Flame Section, Second Squad. Two new friends we made in our squad are Ridoc and Liam. I know you told me to stick to the other fae around here… But she’s a bitch and I’m this close to kill her every second she opens her mouth. And I really don’t know why our wing leader is fucking with her- like literally. Humans need to meet more fae, otherwise he’d realize that she’s not special. I really hope more fae will come to the riders and help mixing humans and fae in the future… Geographically our worlds are connected but somehow we are not. Back to this bitch tho. Her Name is Eve and she’s the daughter of some lord from Autumn, who’s dad is or was friends with Beron - this should be enough for you to know that she’s a bitch. So anyway now my friends and our section leader Garrick are now judging Xaden for fucking with her. Which made Xaden, our wing leader, hate me… Don’t ask me why just me and not the others too, but just me.

Maybe it was because I once said to Eve that I know she’s just messing with him because she can’t have the real Shadow boy ( yes I’m talking about you Az) - and he was right behind me. She looked offended tho, so add her to the endless list of girls that want to fuck Azriel, yet he still choses the life of abstinence.

Okay uhmmm all the fighting stuff is actually way too easy for me which is why I’m mainly training with Liam or Garrick and not the other first (now second) years.

The food is awful and doesn’t get better the longer you eat it (pls Rhys I’m begging you, pull some strings and get me a care package).

What can I say - I or We were the talk of the month when he appeared during Threshing and chose me. Everything around me became black. I couldn’t see anything and then… two glowing red eyes appeared in front of me and he spoke. He spoke in my head.

‘I’ve been waiting for you.’

Then the darkness … vanished and there he was. An enormous black dragon. His scales are razor sharp spikes, his horns ( he has for of them) are so long, I could hold them while riding him. His teeth come close to the size of you Cassian. His tail ends in something that fades into a shadow… just like his wings. They have holes in them and the ends fade into shadows…

He wasn’t a normal black dragon I was sure of that.

Thanks to being a fae I got on top of his back and somehow managed to stay there during the flight.

I’m sure you heard all about the drama that went down afterwards.

He shouldn’t be here.

So there’s the one… everyone knows of… Shadow Wielding. That’s kinda obvious with how Noctis looks (and forces me to spend more time with Xaden, since we both have the same signet and he’s told to teach me).

But it’s just one of them… Rhys… I feel it. I feel the blood of the people around me. One time Rhi was bleeding and it just wouldn’t stop and I didn’t know what to do… I just wished it would stop. And then I felt it. I felt her blood running out of the cut on her arm and… I made it stop?

I know it sounds crazy but.. then there was this other time … I was just minding my own business during lunch and Eve had to sit down right in my eyesight and make out with Xaden… I got so annoyed… and just wanted it so end. I thought about blood running down her neck… and then… it started to run. Run out of her nose, down her mouth and…down her neck. She needed to go to the healer’s because it just wouldn’t stop.

Rhys.. what is wrong with me?

Noctis just tells me that he knew why he waited for me.

I know I should go to my teachers.. and learn how to control it.. but something tells me that I shouldn’t.

Oh and Rhys… His power… feels like yours.

hello!! we absolutely would love to share!! we love a good spooky/strange story, and altho you only asked for one, we can't choose one favourite soo heres a few under the cut.. :3c

first we'll give ya a spooky one! it takes place shortly after i was born, barely talking yet, our childhood room had a closet that was connected to the attic. apparently only my dad went into the attic cus my mom & sister were too scared and we were an infant. but whenever my dad went into the attic, the windows would be open and he'd have to close them. then he'd go yell at our mom asking why she kept opening the windows, but she didnt. cus she was scared of the attic. so one day they were arguing about this in front of me & my dad said smth like "well then who's opening the windows, huh?".

& apparently (according to our parents) we point up at the ceiling to the attic and said "man". so ofc our parents were like huh?? so we did it again & ofc my parents were like 'oh shit we're haunted'. but the ghost wasnt actually like.. doing anything other than opening the windows so my dad just kept closing them and everyone kinda left him (the ghost man) alone.

then, out of nowhere, when we were like 3 years old ish, we would just start screaming and crying in the middle of the night. full-on hysterics about "the man in the attic". so our grandma flew in to come bless the house with sage (we assume) and free the spirit peacefully and respectfully. the only thing we actually remember from this whole story is her walking around the attic burning something and repeating stuff. we're told she also made my dad do it with her, not sure why she chose him tho tbh. anyways everythings been fine after that and ever since then whenever smth weird happened in the house we'd be like "welp, i guess the man's back"

second story isnt super spooky but it is weird. this one starts when we were maybe 4 or 5? we were at a paranormal sites tour on vacation, i know how this sounds but stick with us here, the tour guide said to take 2 pictures because you might not get the ghost in the first picture, but you might get it in the second. now im prettyy sure this is actually something to do with the flash and lens flares but, my mom, sister & i still did it and sure enough my sister got the pictures with & without a little orb! how fun! we save the pictures to a flash drive or something to look at for years to come.

years pass and we're all looking at the pictures (as we'd done many times before) and we get to the pictures from that tour and were like 'oh we should show dad' so my sister calls my dad in so he can see the two pictures, one with the orb and one without it. except this time when we're looking at them, neither one has an orb. and we sit there dumbstruck because we'd looked at them so many times and there was always an orb in the second picture. we still dunno how it just disappeared.. our dad was just sitting there like ".... 😑😐🤨 what are you showing me?" as the rest of us went through the 5 stages of grief trying to accept that the one time we thought to show him our ghostie picture, it stops existing :(

last one's gonna be our fav cryptid!! theyre called the fresno nightcrawlers!!!! theyre super cute little dudes that were originally sighted in fresno, california (as per their name) but they usually show up in the US :3 they also showed up once in poland they usually appear in twos, one bigger one and one smaller one, but not always. they're very cute lil guys just look at them

theyre grey/white creatures with long legs with no arms or torsos, if you look closely, their knee bends where a human shin would be, so that rules out a person in a costume because their legs are too long with far too low knees to be a human. theyre known to be small (4'11/1.5m), but one sighting claims it was 7ft/2m~. perhaps the smaller ones seen are children?? from the footage we've seen, the smaller ones never seem to be sighted without a taller one. however, the taller ones have been sighted alone.

i'm bored so here are some opinions that i'm too scared to say on any other platform

Deciding that Pandora Lovegood had to be from a death eater family (Rosier, Malfoy, Lestrange) was the worst thing this fandom ever did to her character

The fannon characterisation of Marlene McKinnon gives me massive self inset pick me vibes and i hate every part of it (and i really mean every part of it)

This fandom isn't misogynistic y'all are just too demanding and expect the fandom to be the exact same as any other where we have a hardcore cannon source for every one of these characters and ships. we do not. we know more about Barty Crouch Jr then we do about Marlene McKinnon, Mary MacDonald and Dorcas Meadowes combined. it's unrealistic and stupid to expect everyone to care about the same characters and ships to the same capacity as you do when we are not watching/reading the same thing. (if any of that makes sense)

Barty Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier and pretty much every single other death eater were villains. it's okay to like them and want to expand on them but stop trying to make every bad guy secretly good

We cannot keep blaming Dumbledore for everything. Dumbledore had nothing to do with half of the deaths that you are accusing him of. blaming Dumbledore and headcannoning that he obliviated Mary and turned Regulus away and all that takes away from everyone else's characters, sacrifice and choices

The Marauders weren't child soldiers. They had a choice on if they wanted to join the Order or not and they chose to because they're Gryffindors and they're The Marauders and probably thought of themselves as some invisible hero's. They don't need to be seen as victims to Dumbledore for them to be tragic

Hello hello! First of all, thank you so much for asking so many questions and allowing me to talk about my AU to you all, I really appreciate that you guys are enjoying this as much as I am! <3

Second of all, I'm so sorry this took so long to answer!! I have seen your other ask concerning the writing for my AU, and I have to tell you beforehand that it's okay if you lost motivation or inspiration to write this during the long wait. I totally understand if you don’t feel like doing this anymore. Please don't force yourself to write for something you lost interest in. But I’ll gladly still infodump you about the AU!

Names:

Sure, if you wanted to you could just call them their job names. It would make it easier for the readers to recognize each character, but I do have some actual names I came up with if you prefer something more natural sounding!

All the job switched mercs chose their own names, but I deliberately made the names they chose sound as close as possible to the OG Red mercs'. Because the irony here is that they are clones who try so desperately to be unique and different from the OG team, but still managed to somehow copy them despite all their efforts not to.

But I'm really shit at naming things so the effect was kinda lost :')

Sniper as Soldier- Monday or Mondy

Reason: When asked about his name choice, he paused for a moment and asked back, "what day is it today?"

"Monday."

"Monday it is, then."

Soldier as Spy- June or Spyder

Scout as Medic- Germs (short for germinoma) (yeah idk what happened with this one but I didn't wanna call him Jerry either)

Reason: June chose the wrong day to ask Germs about name choices. When asked, the battle worn, tired, salty field-medic grabbed a random medical book from his bookshelf; opened the book; flipped to a random page; viciously stabbed his finger on a random spot on the page and read the word under his finger: "germinoma"- all the while maintaining direct eye contact. It was supposed to be sarcastic. June took it literally, so it became his permanent nickname (much to his dismay)

Medic as Engineer- Ludovic (sometimes they call him Ludo, for short)

Spy as Demoman- Louise, Lois, Lassie, Louisiana, Lyse (any name similar sounding enough to Lois works)

Reason: His "boom sticks" are modified versions of an actual French cigarette brand called "Gauloises". Since none of the mercs actually knows how to read French, they severely butchered the pronunciation and ended up just dropping the beginning of the word entirely, sticking with "loises". However, everyone had varying interpretations of how to pronounce THAT too. So his exact name remains a mystery, and he won't clarify either (he finds it fun to see them try and guess).

Demoman as Sniper- Trevis

Heavy as Pyro- Mikel

Engineer as Heavy- Belle

Pyro as Scout- Zippo

Reason: ya know... zippo lighters... and he's a scout now, so he ZIPS past you... get it?

These are all very bad names, I know, but hopefully you can tolerate my utterly abysmal naming skills :')

Nicknames:

- Monday sometimes calls Lois "Goldilocks" as his own godawful pronounciation of "Gauloises". It annoys Lois to no ends and Mondy loves it.

- He also sometimes calls Germs "bun-bun" to piss him off about his buck teeth. He feels too bad to joke about Belle's tho.

- Monday uses the most nicknames with others, 90% of which is to mock or annoy but it's all in good fun (usually)

- THEY'RE ALWAYS THE SILLIEST NICKNAMES TOO, WITH EVEN SILLER STORIES BEHIND THEM. Just think of the dumbest, goofiest, sounding names

- He once honest to God called Mikel "Jason" and did NOT elaborate

- Germs rivals Monday with his own silly nicknames for everyone, but his tend to be a bit more... vulgar

- "HEY FUCKNUGGETS"

- "fly high, chucklefest junior!"

- "calm down Colonel shrinky-dink"

It's been... a day. Let's just say I'm at the point where I either need to bang my head against the wall or put on some old jazz and write.

Anyway, you are a fantastic person, regardless of what you decide to make or how it turns out.

So I went to the library and read volume 9 of FMA. I got to the part about Hughes' murder, and everything about how that was done in the book was absolutely beautiful. Naturally, since I'm drawing most of my inspiration for the fic about Mask from FMA, I want to marinate my brain in that now. I'm thinking about Mask being able to go to Warriors' era at some point while Warriors is in a different era and no one knows where he is... so... of course they can't definitely say he's dead, but...

I swear I'll write a happy ending, they'll all be happy in the end.

Okay so idrk how to start this. Its definetly gonna be long. Ignore any typos that I make

So for contex (you can skip this its just me generally venting ill color the main part so u can find it easily) I'm in my first freshman year (yes first, I will have multiple cuz the school system in my country is weird asf and you can leave for high school multiple times, i left trom my 2nd school mainly cuz of my toxic friends (and because it was just a shitty place overall (also some of my ex friends are in the same school but in the science class but im in the ict-english one)) so yes.) and i just dont know how to fit in with the girls.

I have this skin condition that doesnt let me be in water a lot (my hygene is kinda bad partially bc of this) and so i dont swim but i dont think my friends take it seriously. They prolly think its just an excuse to not swim, which is not true, i would really love to swim, I actually have a tinyy bit of dysphoria cuz i cant swim, since im waterhearted and a seawing fictionkin.

Now I already felt sorta uncomfy around them. I just cant fit in with neurotypical people in general, even tho I am one, or atleast I'm not doagnosed with anything altough I'm 90% sure that I have ASD a maybe some identity disorder or amt disossative (?) and definetly social anxiety and maybe chronophobia (i asked my parents they regised to zake me to get a proper diagnosis for asd, i didnt tell them the rest yet). So I already gind it hard to fit in, also I'm kind of a nerd, not THAT type of nerd i just like being in school and i like to do research on stuff i like, mainly biology or science overall, and also some other stuff like i chose to do pushups and other excersoses instead of my thumb going backwards, having 2 blue spots in my arm and being anxious for 45 minu- MY BAD I MEAN PLAYING VOLLEYBALL on pe, because thats aparantley weird that i stick with the safer harder option than the more dangerous easier one. Also I tend to get dizzy during pe so i didnt wanna risk it. Oh also i got weird stares when i asked for C6H12O6 (forgot the name in englishs o im using this chemistry thingy sry) after pe cuz i felt dizzy (luckily i had other candy with me).

NOW TO THE ACTUAL PART so today we had this psychologist come in on one of the classes so she can teach us abt stress and how to get rid of it, i didnt think anything would go wrong until she told us to form groups. We had to draw a gingerbrrad figure and put dots where we can feel stress and them she announced that someone will have to read ir from the group in front of everyome. My class is 35+ ppl btw. So the entire group was like "X *puts hand on our chest forming an x*" and now, 1 girl did it first, then 4 of us, then another girl. But it all happened so fast that no one saw who was last exactly (even im not sure i may be wrong) so they argued then some very smart ass person sais "how about *my name*? Cuz she doesnt have to swim" Yeah uh if its possible to have a panic attack without breathing issues I had one RIGHT THERE AFTER I PROCESSED WHAT HAPPENED. GIRL KNOWS THAT I DONT SWIM CUZ I PHYSICALLY CANT, IT DOESNT RELATE, THERE WERE OTHERS WHO DID LESS IN THE GROUP ACTIVITY THAN ME, AND SOMEHOW THE ENIRE GROUP FOUND IT A GOOD IDEA. Like thats the last straw for me. So the teacher calls on us and they all say my name and im like "im not reading it" (i told them before when they suggested that that logic doesnt make sense and that i wont), one of the girls (ily bestie, actually the one qho i get along w oretty well) just gravbed the paper and read it. I feel kinda guilty ngl but like no not reading the absolute crap they wrote down there because I WILL BE THE ONE EMBARASSED. And so after that we got ANOTHER task, "how to deal with stress". I gave them multiple ideas that they tirned down, later orher groups said the exact same things and it was correct 🙄.

Im tired of not having a good friend group. I JUST WANT TO SOCIALIZE DAMN IT. I dont know whats the problem, im trying but it doesnt work. I get good grades and try to be nice, i always send the kids that didnt come to schopl my notes, etc but i just simpym dont know who to hang out with. My current friends (except one) , well i just feel like it isnt working out. I am DEFINETLY NOT hamging out with the popular type girls. And rbh I would hang out with thr boys but im closeted (im agender + demiromantic + ace + omnisexual w the prefernce of girls but i just really cant see myself datong anyone) so it would be weird and i would be called a pick me 100% which is not what i need from my mental health rn. I could get friends from other classes, i already have some but we cant see eachother every vreak cuz my school is way to big and i do not want to walk across it and walk up 4 stairs for like what? 3 minutes? There isnt more time than that.

Also its late im gonna go to sleep afzer i pack my bag but i acidentally left my pe bag at school and since i had swimming today i brought crocs and not my normal shoes and idk how ill get my normal shoes into school. My parents said in a bag but like huh? Am i gonna be beinging it in a zransparent bag? Am i gonna walk into school with a random bag? Wtf thats insane idk what to do im scared of getting weird looks and i already feel like everyone is staring at me when im uncomfortable.

Also i dont wanna switch schools cuz this is amahing, the teachers are nice, and its well equipped i just cant fit in.

oh im thriving rn. also heres the sluppy her ref is shoddy idc its better than most of my characters get😤promoted from "every white slup i encounter is my assistant" to oc. with lore now even. i GOTTA infodump about that. also a general cw for the read more, mostly just mentions of death/illness. and its long i mean it im good at infodumping and not at proofreading my infodumps👍

will start with what she can do. she's teeny tiny even as an adult, barely larger than a slugpup, but significantly smarter than wild slugcats. because she is a purposed organism created by my oc aloft under stars / aus for my other oc infinite whispers / iw (atp im probably not renaming her tbh) to help her do research when vermin gets too old. there's more context on that, not the most relevant for right now though.

anyway. she can climb walls, can't stand still on them because her grip isn't good enough but otherwise she a climber. additionally she's very capable on her own, even as a slugpup she's as strong as an average slugcat. at least until she's incapacitated because she's still small enough that she gets injured way worse. her stomach, or whatever organ slugcats store items in, can hold a greater capacity for nonedible things - she was engineered with carrying capacity in mind, and the more she can bring back, the better! plus, she's crafty, and can make her own tools from materials she finds outside (like a spear or lantern). she was also engineered with the ability to hear broadcast signals like spearmaster can. her harness thing that does not look like a harness bc i did not know wtf i was trying to do allows her to receive signals targeted at her on the move, though it's up to her if she actually cares. it has a small badge of aus's head print on it so that if she strays off on a mission or something and ends up too far it's evident where she came from. the harness is also useful to her as an adult because she can jam spears under it and carry them on her back, something unintended as the harness was mostly for communication and to be able to transport stuff for her creators without her losing it.

that's what she can do though. she has a silly little story i think. my friends said that she gets the Cool approval so it's worth sharing imo

her creation was to replace vermin when they became older and weaker. vermin is effectively a wild slugcat that chose to stick around aus and iw and help them, that relates more to their stories than assistant's tho. she and verm are friends for the rest of their lifespan, the introduction to each other was unintentional but she is little baby and they are old and crusty i think they'd make great friends. as a younger pup she does small missions just to build up her capability and then as an older one she does more full scale things, heading even out of the shared facility grounds or to other iterator facility grounds to complete tasks for iw. she's got a very independent mind though, and sometimes a desire to wander gets the best of her, leading her to stray off course. so on one further out mission as a young adult slugcat she ends up on the grounds of my other iterator oc one step ahead / osa, same guy i was talking abt in the rot post. at that point it's in his structure and he's very sick and isolated, prone to outbursts from his constant fear and rage. it significantly impairs his senses and his awareness.

as a very small slugcat, assistant actually can make her way through his rot infested grounds, and investigates his dying structure. despite instruction to turn back and go home, she finds him in his chamber, and observes the state he's in, and how he's completely alone. having been raised by iterators, she can see clearly that he is unwell and in need of support (that she can't provide, being a slugcat.) she's seen a healthy iterator, and an iterator in debatable health, but never one that was actively ill and dying like osa. and so she defects from her assignment to stay with him. there isn't really anything she can do except provide comfort for him, and simply be there, though i think she'd still get it into her animal brain that she could possibly do something anyway and she's determined to try. it definitely benefits and soothes osa, because he'd been in his situation for a long time, and even though the rest of his group collectively failed to ever try to help him when they still could, this small creature wants to try to help him at his most hopeless point, and he recognizes it to belong to one of his groupmates (because of the badge). that's not very significant, i think it's a small note to acknowledge because of some background between osa and aus that is not relevant to the assistant.

on occasion he does still lash out at her, even though it is entirely unfair for him to be mad at a small animal it relates more to the effect his rot has on him. and she keeps coming back anyway, being incredibly persistent about being an assistant to him rather than her creators. even though he cannot be helped and she lacks the ability to help. just the cat distribution system tbh. maybe she stays out while he's inconsolable and wanders the structure. speaking of, there is an echoed version of her. it is in fact relevant. because of osa's decaying structure, he is gradually falling apart, and eventually suffers from a void fluid pipe rupture (i think thats pretty much just a dp thing but i Dont care. im acknowledging it and im saying i dont care :p) that leads to at least one room becoming flooded with void fluid. she gets caught in there, drowns, and because i dont remember what's been indicated about void fluid nor can i be bothered to check if this is a wrong statement to make, echoes. it's less that she echoes due to being too attached to karmic urges or ego, but because she was so determined to do something impossible and so severely unfulfilled she could not simply ascend or die. and as an echo, it's mostly just rerunning her entire life over and over, trying to do new things and go to new places but always meeting that same end if any at all because she is trying to attain something she cannot fulfill

thats all i have to say abt this particular goober rn. if its noticeable that her story doesnt have a lot of depth its because it was effectively a shower thought. that parts in the rough stages i'll think about her more and it may get more improved on than just this. ya. slugat !! i'll draw her some more eventually, once i finish the other things i'm working on

Hii, I read that freakishly looong (but interesting) take on Fiona

Personally, I think the major problem for her in the comics was that she wasnt really of major importance to the writers. I think the writers thought of her as interesting at first then got bored of her and she was lost to the wind.

I think thats where the problem started.

Secondly, I think the freedom fighters were also at fault. I think they forgot that not everyone has the mental capacity to be a hero. Not exactly good person but I think they expected too much of Fiona. Im not saying this in a degrading way tho. I mean, she went through a lot and they expected her to be healed already, they expected her to suddenly see them as heroes and want to be good. They forgot that not everyone has that inclination. They expected too much and I think that also got her overwhelmed.

Im not sure if this makes sense but yeah this is my take on it.

its pretty clear that bollers and penders didnt have much investment in her character at all, but also that that point she was really just a tangentially relevant side character. like i said in my post, frankly before ian gave her a corruption arc she didnt really have much to offer in the first place. you cant really fault the writers all that much because she wasnt really meant to be of major importance. when ian took the helm as main writer he clearly thought she had potential as a character and utilized that through the corruption arc. she wasnt "lost to the wind", she just became a villain and, as such, didnt need to be on the main screen all the time. archie sonic has a lot of villains and it would be honestly a bit annoying if we spent all of our time with just a handful of them - theyre great characters and should be used accordingly! yeah she took a bit of a backseat in the "scourge+fiona+ss go to mobius and get whacked for it" arc, but like. come on they were clearly setting something up here

she comes back in journey to the east and is pulling together her own gang there, and then comes back in full swing in scourge lockdown, in which they were. also. clearly setting something up

the plan according to ian is i believe that scourge & fiona were gonna have an epic breakup and she'd take the destructix in the divorce, which tracks plenty enough with the setup that was being put in place.

also, honestly im gonna have to partially disagree with you on the second point. its a complicated situation and i think youre simplifying it a bit too much. fiona willingly chose to "become a hero" - its not like they made her. she literally couldve left at any point in time to just be a normal civilian (which is... literally what mina did. nobody had an issue with it, even though mina's superspeed wouldve been a massive aid in battle. she wasnt equipped to be a hero in that way because, like you said, that kind of life really isnt for everybody).

also, the freedom fighters frankly cant be everybody's personal therapist - theyve all got so much baggage themselves and they cant even address that because theyre all in the middle of a war 😭 i dont think its that they expected too much of her - id say its much more in the direction of that they didnt even really consider what she went through or how it wouldve affected her in the first place. its less that she got overwhelmed and more that she was functionally an outsider who had no support system and no friends to stick up for her or try to really make her feel like she was one of the team - not out of malice or anything, but just because nobody really ever thought about it in the first place.

overall its just a really messy situation and while fiona made the bad choices that she did of her own volition, there were real reasons behind why she made those decisions in the first place
