Shakespearean Men believing their wife/betrothed is cheating on them by evidence offered, ranked from most sympathetic to least:

1. Othello, Othello: subject to a premeditated slander campaign, handkerchief used as evidence, takes a while for him to believe it. Understandable, if horrible, and very tragic.

2. Posthumus, Cymbeline: proof in the form of a love token and the description of his wife's body. Also kind of understandable because they were subject to a seperation of unknown length. Murder was a little extreme though...

3. Claudio, Much Ado About Nothing: tricked by a man who literally just tricked him, sees two figures in the dark and a woman calling herself "Hero", immediately willing to believe it. Somewhat understandable, I guess, maybe.

4. Leontes, The Winter's Tale: VIBES. Pure vibes, man.

At some point between 3 and 4, did Shakespeare just lose his faith in humanity?

i keep seeing people say "omg Percy and Annabeth are Odysseus and Penelope!!!" and i wholeheartedly agree, but then they shoot themselves in the foot saying Percy is Odysseus and Annabeth is Penelope

I say this with absolutely no disrespect, but what the fuck are you talking about???

Which one of them, Percy or Annabeth, has the fatal flaw hubris, which is the exact reason Odysseus was so fucked (he pride led him to reveal is name to Polyphemus)? Which one of them, Percy or Annabeth, plans for every fight THOROUGHLY and CAREFULLY (I know very well that Percy is battle strategic, but let's be honest, it's a 50/50 chance he'll have a thorough plan that doesn't have a large chunk of impulsiveness and vibes)? Which one of them, Percy or Annabeth, is the literal DAUGHTER of Odysseus's patron and mentor?

We all know Percy would go ape shit if anyone hurt Annabeth, but who did we see ready to fight three random people because they didn't know where her missing boyfriend was? Who did we actually see go ape shit because she couldn't find her boyfriend? Who fell from first-ish glance?

On the other hand, who has the more "fight first, question later" mindset (which, for someone who hates Ares and tolerates Mars, he has a very Spartan like disposition)? Who likes to piss people off to get their attention (granted, that's both a Odysseus and Penelope thing, but I'm referring specifically to Percy sitting on his dad's throne compared to Penelope's "if your not my husband, move the immovable bed rq")?

If Percy and Annabeth are indeed Penelope and Odysseus reincarnations (which i do believe they are lol), Percy is so Penelope and Annabeth is Odysseus.

it's actually super funny when you think about how the Superfam 🤝 Flashfam 🤝 Arrowfam 🤝 Wonderfam = basically all collectively being friends with and/or respecting the hell out of Dick Grayson

You think it's just Clark but no. Lois loves him. Post-Crisis!Kara thought of him as a mentor and big brother figure. Kon canonically thinks Dick is cool. And Jon looks up to Dick a lot (and obviously Clark literally put Dick in charge of looking out for Jon while he was off-planet)

And then you think it's just Roy, but no. Lian calls him "Uncle Nightwing," Dinah thinks he's good for Babs, Connor's generally chill with him, Emiko thinks he's nice and hot (lmao), and Ollie's apparently fond enough of him that we're told Dick is the one who named the Arrowcave

And then you think it's just Wally but no. Wally's kids love him, Barry likes him, he's on good enough terms with Bart to get a focus panel at Bart's funeral, he's led Jesse on two separate teams, and Jay's willing to swing by NYC with the rest of the JSA to help him move out of the Cloisters after Final Crisis

And THEN you think it's just Donna, but no. Diana watched him grow up and thinks fondly of him, and Cassie respects Dick enough that she not only took Damian onto the Teen Titans on a trial basis just because Dick asked but he's also the first person she calls when she thinks Tim's gone crazy after Bruce's death

truly the linchpin character of the DCU, we have no choice but to stan
