I knew I was gonna get this one lol

Gonna preface this by saying that I don’t care if you ship Obikin - I actually follow a lot of people who do ship them! If I can interpret a fic/artwork/post/etc platonically, then I will, and if I can’t, then I won’t reblog it. It doesn’t matter much to me what the original intent was, since all I really care about is my own interpretation. It’s the “live and let live” philosophy of fandom.

That being said, I personally find Obi-Wan and Anakin’s relationship to be much more compelling and much more interesting when interpreted with the authorial intent: as besties-brothers-fathersons, with the labels shifting but their insanity about each other never changing.

The ship does also fully give me the ick, which is not a moral judgement on the ship or those who ship it, but I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t a factor in my dislike of it. Something about the 16-year age gap and the power dynamic and the importance of Anidala to the story, plus the way this fandom tends to write off Padmé as a lovesick idiot… yeah, it gives me the ick.

But at the end of the day, these are just my thoughts and my opinions, and I definitely don’t want this to be misconstrued as me bashing Obikin shippers. These are fictional characters, and we can do whatever we want with them, so I’m happy to stay in my lane and let other people stay in theirs!

Todd is very stubborn and hates being seen as weak or vulnerable. He would probably try to downplay his symptoms in front of Eggie and Baxter. He complains quietly, and he hates being sick, especially on days where he could be working instead. He would try to hide his symptoms and show up to work sick if he could, even if he looked and felt like absolute shit.

❄️: Would it be more unusual to see this character sick during the winter or during the summer? Do they typically go down during cold and flu season, or do they usually get summer colds?

Todd tends to get sick more in the winter time. It would be very unusual to see him with a summer cold. He is American, but lives in Canada since he moved into Eggie’s house as her roommate. So he’s definitely not as used to the cold weather as she is. Haha!
