would Nico and Harley get along well? Considering the fact that their both Underworld Kids lol
Anon, I would love to inform you that YES. Yes they DO.
After Something Wicked, Douxie asks Nico to come to Arcadia to help teach Harley how to use his powers. After that it's basically inevitable that Harley gets adopted by Nico and Hazel. He's smol and squishy! Just a baby!

shavuot day 1 debrief
so this was like day 3 of realizing that even if you wake up at 8:30am it doesn't mean youre actually going to get out of bed at 8:30am. I need to get better at that. but I finally got up at like 11 and started getting ready. when I went out to check on the rest of my family I saw that my mom and my brother were both wearing navy. I asked if I should go change and they both said no, but then my dad also put on a navy shirt and I was like "ok now I have to go change" and so I changed into a navy shirt. then we walked to the place where we were having lunch (a friend's house) and I infodumped about linguistics the whole time to my mom :p we ran into some family friends on the way who are also working at the camp im working at so I said I'd see them on friday :) when we got to the place I remembered that there were literally going to be 100 guests. legitimately 100 people. this family is notorious for large gatherings but I think this is their biggest one yet. now, on Saturday I was at another friend's house who had asked me to sit with her so she didn't have to be alone sitting with people she hated. I at first sat with my parents bc I didn't see her but she caught my eye and basically mouthed "save me" and so I came over. but then once everyone got food (it was buffet style) there was nowhere for me to sit, and someone had already taken my old seat, so I was relegated to the end of the table. it wasn't so bad though bc I ended up talking to my friends older sister and some of her friends about who's getting married and who's having kids and everyone's love life (it literally felt like a scene from a tv show or a book it was kind of surreal). in the middle of that my friend who had originally asked me to sit with her got up and left with a bunch of other people (but I like gossip so it's fine 🤭). eventually I got up and found my parents again and just stood next to them while they talked to their friends. then I got to hold a baby :3 and then it was time for dessert. now it is a 4 year long time honored tradition at this house to do a cheesecake contest on shavuot, and it keeps getting better every year. last year they had a plate for every family with 1 slice of every cheesecake; but this year they had a big platter for every family with a cup of every cheesecake so it was less messy and more accessible to read. my dad and I voted for cheesecake #14 and my mom voted for cheesecake #1 (my brother didn't vote because he doesn't like cheesecake :p). in the end last year's winner came in second, and the wife of the house won the contest (it was cheesecake #1. it was so basic. #14 was at least butterscotch flavored). my future coworker stopped by again to say hi to everyone, and then my family headed home :) I talked to my mom about these two guys I don't like the entire way home XD and now I'm debriefing before I shower because I am so sweaty 😩 time to do it all again tomorrow 😄
#surprisingly my stomach doesnt feel that bad after all that dairy#but to be fair i didnt have a lot of actual cheese mostly tuna and beyond beef#i think itll be worse tomorrow#the funny thing is im not even seeing anyone new tomorrow#im seeing two families that were at the lunch today#the host family and another family#things could turn nasty tomorrow so stay tuned#(thats kinda why im doing a debrief)#also people keep asking me or talking about i/p regarding schools and i just really dont want to#luckily theres always so much other drama to talk about that its easy enough to steer clear#but yeah cant wait to debrief tomorrow#and then it's off to camp :)#debrief

I don't know who needs to hear this but portia is not a parent where the relationship gets better with age, shes the parent you're low contact with by 20 and no contact with by 30
#rainy talks#am I the only one who remembers her telling Prudence pens OLDER SISTER how she doesn't want to have no prospects like her#despite Prudence also having no suitors??#or how she gave that big speech at the end of season 2 about how she was a mother and she had 3 daughters that she loved so much#and then doesn't even seem concerned about the distinct lack of her youngest#or how in the book colin and Penelope enter the house TOGETHER after the carriage and without a doubt looking uber disheveled#and she /still/ assumes hes asking to marry Felicity who I don't think he'd ever interacted with at the time?#or how she sees how distressed entering society makes Penelope and still pushes her out even though shes 17 and could have easily waited#or how she literally joins in with Prudence on mocking Penelope for writing to colin not because its improper#but because shes wasting colins time and ink?#like god no wonder Penelope is Whistledown can you imagine the pent-up aggression and vile she had?#no wonder shes lashing out on such a insane scale when her biggest bully isn't Cressida its her fucking mother#idk its like 4 am and I woke up and wasn't able to stop thinking about this#but god portia reminds me so much of someone and I'm absolutely boggled by the people who want her to be pens defender#like thats not happening thats never happening if her and colin interact in regards to pen the one likely to be defending her#IS COLIN. because portias probably gonna think hes in love with Prudence or something#god I could go on if i really thought I could probably pick out even more times where she treats her kids like shit#because its not just Penelope theres a clear struggle in that house to be her favorite#and Penelope is loosing because she never stood a fucking chance.#And this isn't even getting into the marina stuff I could do an ESSAY on the marina stuff

in regards to skin tone variation in DM, i do think a lot of it is colorism/racism too. theres a few characters of color, but not many (just like how theres some fatter characters, but none of them are main characters (even senshi & other dwarves arent really depicted as fat)).
ryoko kui has surface representation for these people, but it lacks much substance, and the brown characters she does draw arent given brown facial features, and are almost always colored with very ashy skin. a lot of them just look like a recolored white person (especially cithis, kaka, & kiki). her random portraits of characters who dont actually appear in the series otherwise tend to be much better about this, but the actual characters that show up and play a part all seem to suffer from this issue.
im not saying kui is like, super-duper racist and we all need to stop reading DM etc etc, but i think its important to recognize and point out everyday/usually-overlooked colorism & racism when we see it, and i know im not the first or only person to point this out about her character designs. if she can draw fat people and actual brown people as part of the portraits, why cant she or wont she do the same for any of the featured characters in the series?
(i know the orcs are fat, but its not a good thing the only consistently fat people are the ones who are a fantasy race based off of violent racial stereotypes, who are also pig people, while none of the main cast of "real" humans are fat except *maybe* the dwarves, who still have small waists and flat stomachs, and the lord of the island, who is depicted as corrupt & decadent)
Well yeah.
I'm just a lore blog so I don't like to get too into real life issues or make assumptions about how the author feels about these subjects. What I talked about on the skin tone post was assumptions as to why she thought it would be important to show skin tone variations on certain races as a character design choice. (In the sense that her character design is very purposeful)
I realize some people over praise Kui's designs when most of it is pretty safe for what it is, but even if it's just a step closer to better representation it's something that's rare to see in anime. So I understand why some people get so excited about it.
It is important to realize this isn't the ideal either (Dark skinned characters with the same features as the others, mostly well build characters on the thinner side) but I personally don't like to criticize these type of stories on what it "could/should have been".
As someone who is fat and not white, I'm happy we get some diversity in dungeon meshi. I hope this opens up the possibility of better character design in the future even if what we got now wasn't perfect.
It shouldn't be the case that this piece of art filled me with so much joy I teared up cause I had never seen someone with a similar body to mine drawn with so much respect and objectivity. But unfortunately that's the world we live in and I don't think it's wrong to be happy for what we get for now while acknowledging it's not perfect and that it should be better.
I'm also super happy the anime chose to make the dark characters even darker.
#Reading dungeon meshi while shaking my head so people know I think the representation could have been better#dunmeshi complaint#I think there's reasons why her more diverse art is outside the main story/main characters#by that I mean PROBABLY some choices were made for whats easier to sell

Pairing- Scaramouche x Reader
Synopsis - Going on a late night walk with Scaramouche ends up in an injury, but don't you worry your pretty little head about it. Nurse Scara is here to kiss your pain and embarrassment away!
Warnings- Vague descriptions on blood/an injury, modern au, cursing, Scaramouche
Authors note- Dearest apologies for the 2 month hiatus chat. Still learning to write a bit ദ്ദി(˶‾᷄ᗜ‾᷅˵ ᵕ) apologies if Scara is a bit ooc , I TRIED MY BESTT
–wc: 1.1k
It was supposed to be a regular walk through the park with scaramouche, but of course it's never really that simple with you, is it?
Late one night, the children had gone home and the old street lights had flickered on, you and Scaramouche had decided to go on a walk through the neighborhood park. The walk had been fairly normal, the both of you had walked hand in hand, talking idly about whatever came to mind in the moment. That was until you spotted the old children's playground. It was dimly lit by the old and barley functioning street nights, and you could see the leaves, dirt, water, and mud that had gathered at the end of the obnoxiously yellow slide.
The playground itself was pretty sad, if you're being honest. Consisting of a singular slide, and monkey bars that led to the swing set that consisted of literally two swings. If you were a kid and THIS is were your parents told you to play on, you'd ask to go back home. But then again the nostalgia from seeing a children's playground was obviously too much for you.
Now obviously, as any rational adult would do, you squeezed scaramouches hand tighter, swinging it upwards as you held your hands to your chest and jumped in excitement. "Look Scara! A playground!" You squealed out. "What about it?" He asked clearly confused as to why a grown adult would care about a depressing children's playground. "Wouldn't it be fun to go have fun on it? You know, relive the childhood memories and such." He looked at you with a puzzled expression for a moment before sighing, his breath visible in the cold weather before replying. "It's only you who can turn dumb shit like this into something sentimental I swear." You ignored his as you said "Oh cmon' , It'll be fun to play on a playground like kids again!"
Paying no regard to the annoyed grunt he gave as you dragged him over, eventually letting go of his hand and jumping onto the monkey bars, although it didn't work as well as you had planned considering it was made for 5-12 year olds. You decided you were fine with holding onto the bars and swinging while bending your legs to avoid them touching the ground. As Scaramouche walked over you could see a pout present on his doll like features, as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "You aren't actually going to play like a child here are you? I mean if you're gunna do this at least pick a good playground" He said, with an eye roll. "What?! C'mon theres plenty of stuff to do here" You said, drawing out the 'A' in What. "Like the swings! C'mere!" You said again dropping from the money bars and walking over to the swings.
Scaramouche followed behind you, albeit a little less excited to go on the swings. By the time he reached the swings you were already in a swing, beginning to swing back and forth already. "Swing with me Scara!" You Chirped. Silently and surprisingly with no witty comment or insult, Scaramouche sat in the swing next to you. Though he wasn't swinging all over the place like you were, he looked content simply sitting in one. "Im gunna jump!" You said, remembering the days when you would jump of the swings as a kid. I mean if you could do it at Seven, it cant be that hard! "I would tell you thats a bad idea, but you wont listen so, good luck i guess." Rolling your eyes at him you focused on building up some momentum, making sure nothing was in your way, and then you jumped.
And damn was it a mistake, You landed on your feet like you planned but unfortunately your ankle didn't get the memo to straighten before you hit the floor, causing to to fall face first into the hard, cold, and unforgiving mulch. It hurt, a lot. For a moment you sat there unmoving out of pure embarrassment, i mean how could you possibly face the world after so confidently face planting into the ground? Though it felt like forever, you knew it was only a few seconds before Scaramouche was at your side.
Helping you up off the ground, he helped you limo over to a nearby bench, it was a little damp due to the mildew of the night, but that wasn't the biggest concern at the moment. Assessing the damage Scaramouche noticed the bleeding scrapes on your knees and cheeks mainly, though there were smaller scratches though they weren't as serious. Scaramouche opened his bag and pulled out some alcohol wipes and band-aids he always carried with him, unfortunately this sort of thing was a common occurrence, he'd learned to be prepared. Sitting in silence, Scaramouche began to treat your wounds, "Hold on to my arm if it stings." he said, while beginning to wipe at the bleeding scratches on your knees. Oh and damn did that shit burn, you squeezed onto his arm, hissing a bit before he moved onto your cheeks, grabbing a new wipe and repeating the process.
He grabbed the box of band-aids and began to take a few out to put on tour injures. "Are those fucking Sofia the first band-aids? Of all the band-aids in the store those are what you choose?" You questioned a slight giggle at the end. "Instead of mocking my band-aid choices let's talk about your poor life ones, yeah? Where did you go wrong, getting your ass kicked by a barely standing swing and some mulch" You were silent after that.
As he placed the last Sofia the first band-aid your cheek, he leaned down and gave you a kiss on the lips, a quick kiss but a kiss nonetheless. Suddenly it was like you had drunk the sacred blood of god or something because that kiss had you feeling better in seconds, smiling and kicking your feet. "Be more careful, [name] seriously. How do you not get tired of tripping and falling all the time?" Scaramouche said, in a teasing tone. You could practically hear the smirk in his face as he pulled you off the bench, Letting you lean your weight on him for the walk back to your shared apartment. "It's getting late, let's get back home, yeah?" He said adjusting himself a bit. "Yeah..
"Lets head home.."

things i noticed/thoughts about most recent rewatches of dps (plus laserdisk deleted scenes):
whenever theres a group scene i've started watching the characters that the story isn't focusing on to see what they do and i've been having a fun time with that. pitts and cameron specifically seem to almost always be doing something interesting in the background.
hopkins!!!! my favorite minor character who somehow got character development despite having like 2 lines!!!! the last guy to stand on the desk but he did it!!!
sometimes i do like to think about what the rest of the students thought about the dead poets society, esp in alternate timeline neil lives dps keeps meeting universe. like yeah theres this guy in their class whose one of the most credited students in the school and we think he maybe started a cult. idk though. but that group runs out into the woods every few days to do god knows what and one of them keeps talking about "dead poets honor" whatever that means and holy shit welton star student neil perry started a cult.
i watched the movie with headphones. and maybe it's because ive seen this movie Far too many times and mabe i'm listening too hard but it was Really obvious sometimes when audio was added in post production. llke in the sweaty toothed madman scene when you can hear laughing and to be fair the camera is behind their heads. but it does Not look like anyone's laughing. my favorite is at the end of the phone call to chris scene where knox is like i'm gonna seize the day!! and runs up the stairs and the poets are cheering him on and neil is sort of yelling "carpe!!!!" and i could be wrong but i'm like 75% certain that the person singing is Also rsl so now neil is just speaking two times at once somehow. anyways it didn't ruin the experience for me or anything it was maybe just a little bit funny to notice but very sorry if this did ruin anyone's viewing.
people talk a lot about how rsl and ethan hawke really made their characters what they are but i have to add dylan kussman to that list. I get the impression that older versions of the movie didn't really give as much depth to cameron and watching dylan kussmans performance is like. he Knew who his character was so fucking well and it shows!! like the deleted scene of them getting clubs assigned. like i could tell So Much about cameron from that scene
for how little she actually appeared, there is an emphasis put on the fact that neil's mom smokes pretty frequently. and i think that's interesting considering neil is one of two poets shown actively smoking. neil's mom doesn't appear for very long in the movie but during that time it definitely seems like the movie is intentionally making parallels between the two, particularly in the last argument with neil's father. neil and his mother are both sitting for almost the whole time, which contrasts with his father who is standing. they are both almost powerless in this scene. they stand up at almost the same time. anyways there's a couple different possibilities for what this could mean? that i've though of? 1. to show that neil's mother is in a similar situation to the one neil is in in regards to neil's father and 2. maybe a stretch here but the theory that neil inherited his mental illness at least partially from his mother. i'm pretty sure 1 was fully intentional on the directors part, not entirely sure about 2 though
unmanned flying desket scene: it's probably cause he and ethan wrote the scene themselves but the way rsl talks in this scene feels more like the way he talks in general than the rest of the script. like briefly neil perry is talking in rsl's voice. one of my absolute favorite scenes though the sarcastic dialogue is so good.
the light of knowledge at the first shot of the film vs. todd standing on his desk at the last shot of the film paralel
#there was a whole additional part of this post that was about knox and charlies relationship with their parents#but it ended up being half of what i wrote here and i still had more to add so i'm making that a separate post#that should be posted in a few days i'm not a fast writer#neil perry#richard cameron#gerard pitts#todd anderson#dead poets society#dps#hopefully coherent

Regarding this post (https://www.tumblr.com/piratecaptainscaptainpirates/750832838350340096/okay-so-theres-one-thing-that-im-kind-of-tired), the racism of Stede having the crew members of color acting as servants was clear, but I always thought he did that because that's what Badminton and his officers would expect. If he had had everyone sit at the table, or even if he'd had the "servants" be both white and PoC, that would have given the ruse away. I saw it as Stede pulling off his first fuckery before he even knew what a fuckery was, and creating what he thought would appear to Badminton as "a bunch of upper crust lads trying their hand at the seafaring life". In other words, he was well aware that it was racist but asked his crew to go along with it so they could get Badminton and his officers off the ship as quickly as possible. Had Wellington not been such a blatant racist prick, they might have succeeded, but Jim was never gonna let that behavior slide. Quite right too.
Now, in S1E2, him and Pete thinking that the tribe were cooking and eating their hostages was incredibly racist and they absolutely deserved to be called out on that. But I never got the sense, even in those early episodes, that Stede treated his PoC crewmembers any differently or worse than he treated his white crewmembers. And especially with Olu and Jim, he valued their advice and counsel, and Olu had no issues speaking his mind to Stede, which to me meant that he never felt threatened by Stede or worried that Stede would abuse him or anyone else on the crew.
If I've misinterpreted Stede's actions, please let me know. I'm white, so I know I don't see a lot of the micro aggressions that you see every day, though I have been working on actively listening and learning.
Hey there! I don't disagree with any of your points here, but I think there are wrinkles!
Was Stede just falling back on the easiest option to allay suspicion? Absolutely! Was it still a racist move? You bet!
See, I think Stede's first fuckery is the "ghost of the forest" bit in s1e2, and this is more...him leaning back on established social hierarchy. He fails to think outside the box in a way that would allow all of his crew members to feel respected. Think about how Frenchie gets himself and Olu onto the party boat - by thinking up a creative story. Stede thought up backstories for his white crew. His crew members of color could have been African royalty, rich benefactors, envoys from distant lands...the possibilities of avoiding suspicion are endless, and they could've even used these exoticizing tropes their guests were unlikely to see through as a way to boost the Revenge's apparent prestige for their guests.
The important thing to remember here, I think, is that Stede's plan in the pilot fails not in spite of the racism of it but because of that. If their guests had known that it would be not only inappropriate but a social faux-pas to insult the crew members of color, then there never would have been a need to fight back against an escalation in racist language.
And I don't disagree that Stede doesn't treat his crew members of color differently! My point is rather that his racist biases are an important facet of his general ignorance of the lived experiences of others - like, he genuinely doesn't really get that most people are pirates because they have no other choice (there's a huge racial component there, no coincidence we hear it from Olu), he doesn't realize most of his crew will be illiterate, he fails to account for the differences in lived experiences he's enjoyed thanks to his relaive privilege. In these early episodes, he talks at the crew, not with them.
I love Stede and his journey so so so much! And every time I rewatch the show I love seeing all these ways that he's grown and learned.

human reader question!!!!!
okay so, cultural differences(i think these are cultural). thoughts??? like how big the families would be, in the loz world i dont think theres ever families bigger than 2 kids and 2 parents. but then with humans.. you know. then also food!!!! processed food!!! spicy food!!! and!!! the advancements in humans (regarding music, the arts, and food, medicinal, etc) compared to hylians.
like how would the chain react to reader casually saying that they have like... a LOT of family?? especially when you add both your moms AND dads side of the family.
how would the chain react to the advanced medicine??? like reader casually being like 'oh yeah i had surgery" and chain being like???? "hello????? youre alive??????" cause yk, it used to be SO much more dangerous.
if im missing anything in the first paragraph, feel free to add!!!!
Reminds me of a story my mom told me once, when she was dating my dad. They went to a party where her family was and as the only gringo there, my dad stood out like a sore thumb.
Outside of the house, there was a bunch of men lined up on the wall, talking amongst themselves and my mom turned to my dad and said "guess what?"
"What?"
"Those are all my cousins."
"No."
"Yes."
But Hylians have better spice tolerance than most humans. I mean, and I say this knowing that Wild/Link is an outlier in general, but he can eat Goron spice like the bes-
No. I take it back. If I'm gonna stick to my headcanons that Wild is part human, then he gets it from the humans. I don't see Hylians genetically modifying peppers to be hotter and hotter just because they can.
While I'm sure Hylians have the idea of surgery, I say this still feeling like they rely too much on their magic to be as complicated as modern medicine has become.
Like, I'm sure Hylians know about amputations or blockages but that could be as far as they ever went.
You tell a Hylian you had open heart surgery and the faint because what?

I actually really love ur interpretation of farcille where falin and marcille have a... Difficult time together. Because it annoys me when people treat their relationship like the most important one and also like they're completely perfect for each other. Because they're not! The bath scene itself is an example of how they're not completely on the same page yet. Marcille treats Falin like a precious toy to look over, even when she's clearly uncomfortable, and when Falin starts asking questions (because she knows something is up), Marcille shuts it down. Marcille doesn't treat Falin as an equal. Also the bits in the daydream hour where it implies Marcille wants Falin to dress a certain way or cut her hair a certain way because it looks good to Marcille.
Not to say that Marcille is evil, or even completely in the wrong. I think Falin has a bit of a bad trait where she doesn't talk about things that upset the ones she loves. There was an extra comic, if I remember correctly, from Falin and Marcille's school days, about Falin bringing food to Marcille's room and Marcille would just be like "??? What???" And eventually Falin just stops going to Marcille's room. But then later Laois explains that Falin was trying to get Marcille to eat with her, but eventually gave up without speaking about it at all. Or how she did drop the topic of her resurrection even though she knew something was wrong and deserved to know what was going on. And while she was under the influence of the dungeons magic, it's pretty in character of her to go hungry and not say anything because someone she loved (Thistle in that moment) wanted her food.
And that's not even getting into how many fans erase how important Laois is to BOTH of them and how much he loves them as well. (Marcille was definitely not his biggest fan in the beginning, but I think you could make the argument that by the end, she cherishes him almost, if not just as, much as she cherishes Falin. Not even in a shippy way)
Anyway. All this to say, I love farcille but they're not a perfect couple right now. I actually really like that ending you imagined a while ago where they never put a label on things and falin dies old and happy but Marcille keeps thinking of "what could have been". I think that's really the only way their relationship can end (unless they COMMUNICATE in the case of Falin and LISTEN in the case of Marcille)
here's the scene you mentioned!
i think theres a scene in a different chapter showing more of this but i cant remember lol so im not sure if falin stopped or not. but considering how falin grew up as a conveniently good kid for her parents i think it's in-character for her to give up in fear of bothering marcille
which is in line with chimera falin's attitude (WHICH IS SO COOL THAT HER CORE AS A PERSON REMAINS UNCHANGED DESPITE THE DUNGEON'S INFLUENCE)
and yes i think a lot about how laios is the reason they even go on the dangerous quest to save falin! he is what convinced marcille and chilchuck it's not too late for her! because they know hes knowledgeable about monsters, so if he thinks they can still save her then it must be possible! on the contrary, as shown by the official roleswap comic where falin and laios swapped places, she couldn't convince the party, not even marcille, to go save laios with her. further showing that laios is the person they trust as their leader
also regarding marcille and laios i think people sometimes forget that despite their difference branch of passions both of them are hungry for knowledge
hell, she might be the only one in the party beside laios who is in it for the sake of knowledge instead of glory and wealth (toshiro is in it to prove himself as a warrior, namari having to make up for her father's misdeed, chilchuck for the betterment of his people, and falin who is still at the stage of following laios and marcille's whims)
honestly i think it's inevitable for The Most Popular Ship to be sandpapered. in the end, shipping is about having fun with barbie dolls that have no agency to protest about how theyre being treated and we the shippers are gods ruling over fanon
but im also. kinda petty about it lol.

hcs of stevepop being haters to papercut but specifically curly😸
rare stevepop mention in my inbox omg
•first of steve dont even hate curly fr, its soda that dont like him, its like a “curly shepard slander is not only tolerated, but highly encouraged” typa thing, steve has no strong feelings about curly, thinks hes trouble and a nuisance but nothin noteworthy, everyone thinks that of curly, steves not special in that regard😢
•soda could b ranting about how curly isnt good for pony and steves just not paying attention, he’s just staring at soda thinking he looks good😭😭, but if soda does say something outlandish that curly did, he will make his own comment
•i like to think that curly and steve r similar in some aspects so when soda mentions something steve also does, the convo goes “dont i do that same thing” “yea but ur u, so thats different” and steve squints his eyes cause he doesnt know how to take that one
•instead of just paying for the snacks at the drive ik, curly and pony go to the dx to pay for snacks and just sneak into the drive in w the snacks in curlys secret pockets, and will soda admit that thats clever as hell??? NO HE WILL NOT☝🏽☝🏽, he makes sneaking glances at him
•only time steve rlly talks to curly is if he makes some kinda comment towards soda, so at that cash register, curly teases soda and i WAS gonna say that steve doesnt say much and aggressively keeps it professional but id b a liar, steves saying something slick right back
•bc steve and curly dont rlly know each other that well, their banter is pretty much limited to curly talking about steve being w soda and steve WOULD say something about being w pony but sodas right there and he wouldnt like that, so he says something about curly being a pain in the ass, very surface level bullyin goin on here
•when soda sees pony and curly, hes literally pulling steve along, steve is 95% unwilling 5% willing bc he rlly does care for pony and wants to know whats up w em
•HOWEVER, he’s not that interested that he wants to be around them for longer than an hour when theyre supposed to be hanging out, steve just wants to question em for 5, maybe 10 mins THEN leave but soda wants to stay for way longer
•i feel like ppl also forget that steve still goes to school, so when theres a school dance steve takes advantage of that and uses it as a date opportunity and brings soda, but on e again much to everyones disappointment pony n curly r there too, so sodas like TRYING to enjoy his time w steve but look at curly over there,,,breathing near pony,,,how dare he share the same air,,,
•steves the one who drove all of em to the dance, however soda promised to not be too overbearing for pony and steves sake, which he kinda???did???? he was staring at em ofc but so was steve, but steve was just laughing at the stupid shit curly was pulling pony into while soda was makin sure nothin too over 18 was goin on
•steve is still like one of ponys biggest haters, once he told pony something about him being so desperate to not be a tag a long he mustve picked the closest person to him to prove that he wasnt and it just so happened to be curly and thats how they got together

Gonna be interrupting the ongoing Neo3 saga for a bit, because something serious needs to be addressed.
Its come to my attention that there have been some serious allegations against me and another member of the Magoverse server. The posts were brought to us by someone in said server and that’s how we all found out.
Im here to provide proof against them.
TLDR: There has been a person lying about some very serious matters. I will discuss and provide proof against their claims below.
A former member of our server, giyagas-strikes-back, has claimed that I have been generally harassing them while they were there. They have stated that they have no proof of their accusations. There is no evidence of this because it did not happen at all.
I did not abuse or harass them. All I did was address the behavior that was making other members of the server uncomfortable. We were not once rude to this individual. We had spoken with them regarding their disruptive behavior multiple times, including their disrespect towards our members when they had asked them to tone things down and failed to regard such wishes.
Seen below:
For this next series of screenshots, they were involved in an rp involving sudden angst/violence that made members in the server uncomfortable. I was not the one who addressed the concern, but I did agree with the point of the one who did.
Another event where they commented something negative about something and someone else talked to them about it. Again, I was only agreeing with someone else, I did not speak harshly to them at all:
We never held a grudge against them, and only spoke to them in this way when they made someone uncomfortable.
Additionally, they told us that they were at least 13 (minimum age for joining the server) when we talked to them. We all thought we were speaking to an individual who would handle criticism we gave them seriously. We found out later that they were lying about their age:
Because we weren't notified, it only came to our attention much later into their membership, as is shown here. (Edited Discord notifications do not provide an "unread message" tag, and with a massive influx of members coming in at that time, this message was quickly buried.) We do not accept members under the age of 13 in our server. Every member under the age of 18 must inform us that they are a minor (no specific number required, just that they're under 18), and they are given a tag indicating that they are a minor. Additionally, we have multiple guidelines in place regarding minors and VC manners. We all mind our distance. To note: Before we could confront giyagas-strikes-back they left the server. We are unsure if they left because they caught wind we knew about them lying about their age, or if they left because of the multiple times that members of the mod staff had been forced to step in to handle behaviors or statements made by them that made other members uncomfortable.
An extra note to add, giyagas-strikes-back claimed that all this happened in a server where the “mod was always away”. We are the mods, and they were fully aware of this. The status of our mods is very apparent and in no way shape or form secret. Even our nicknames are given a specific color to indicate that we are the mods of the server. We only ever interacted with them on the specific server that we mod, so I am unsure if this is another lie, or if they legitimately didn’t realize we were mods and that is why we kept addressing their behaviors with them.
They also mentioned that I associate with Blaze, who they claim said weird stuff to them/is grooming them. But doing a quick search on a statement they made proves otherwise:
I believe these allegations are an immature act of retaliation due to our addressing their ill behaviors.
Theres one more thing I need to address. It was also brought to my attention that someone is claiming I stole an AU. I was never approached about this, neither has Blue as far as I am aware, and honestly have no idea what AU they're referring to, so I'm going to assume it is CtyH (Close to Your Heart, the au where Mags marries a god). We first discussed this au last January 26, 2023 -- here are screenshots of the first discussions about it. This AU started off as an offshoot to my interp and evolved from there. If anyone ever felt I had stolen something, it was never brought up with me or Blue, and I never wrote this AU with anyone elses in mind.
In closing: A healthy reminder. When people are accusing others of something, never take just their word as fact. Always look into it before making your own decision about the person in question, even if it comes from someone you trust. Never let anyone's opinion be your opinion. Always, ALWAYS, find the facts and discern for yourself! Make your own choice. Don't allow others to choose for you. Take this evidence as you will, but please, if you know those responsible for damning our names and making these baseless claims, we ask that you do not harass them on our behalf. We will not tolerate anyone speaking ill of them in my name. Yes, what they are doing is bad, but would any of us be better if we reciprocate in the same manner? That helps no one. Instead, simply inform and educate others. Be peaceful, be respectful. Be polite. Do not attack these people under any circumstances.

Hi! Idk if you’ve already spoke about this so sorry if you have but do you think that Harry can still speak parsletongue after he’s no longer a horcrux? And do you have any hcs about if theres any changes before vs after he’s no longer a horcrux?
Hi 👋,
Like, in canon, I don't recall it ever being mentioned in the books. But JKR did state in an interview he lost the ability to speak Parseltongue:
Nigel: Can harry speak parseltongue when he is no longer a horcrux? J.K. Rowling: No, he loses the ability, and is very glad to do so.
(Source)
The books don't really mention it, but they intend you to understand it as Harry not being able to speak Parseltongue anymore.
Personally, I like to headcanon he still can. Since it isn't book canon, but stated in an interview, it's pretty loose in canonicity.
Like, my headcanon regarding Harry's Parseltongue is that he wouldn't have been able to speak it if he didn't have a latent gene for it. Like, if a random wizard that had no recent enough Gaunts in their family tree to have the potential to be Parselmouths, became Voldemort’s Horcrux they wouldn't be Parselmouths. Like, I headcanon Lily's maternal grandma was a squib from the Gaunt family, and that's why Harry had a dormant Parseltongue gene that was just activated by becoming a Horcrux. So, he'd keep the ability after the Horcrux is no longer there since it just triggered a gene that was already there. I already talked about how most muggleborns are likely descendants of more recent squibs, so it's not only possible Lily has relatively recent magical ancestry, but likely (also, she has Slytherin green eyes, and was the one to really kill the Heir of Slytherin the first time, let her be a Gaunt).
I think Harry would feel weird after the Horcrux is no longer there. Lighter than he ever felt before. He'd think it's because the war is over and there aren't dark lords or Durlseys to mess with his life, but it isn't. His life likely is still quite stressful while rebuilding the wizarding world, and I think, he'd realize eventually the horcrux left him a little emptier. I think the moment he buries Voldemort and his wand would be the moment he realizes how much he feels the lack of the Horcrux.
I mean, imagine you have a certain amount of soul in you your entire life. Your body, your mind, your spirit, your own soul and magic, the very essence that is you, has recognized another as part of itself, got used to having more soul between your ribs than just your own. and then, in practically a blink of an eye, it's gone. I can't imagine you won't feel it. Like a phantom limb.
I don't think Harry's personality changes much after the Horcrux is removed. Like, I don't think his magic or the alliance of his wand would be affected by that. I think he'd be fine on that front. I think he'd just feel lighter. Emptier. I think his magic would be a bit off balance in the first few months until he got used to the new balance of his body and soul. And he'd just feel off. Like when you leave your house and you have the feeling you forgot something and you just don't know what — that, but constantly, and about your own soul.
I think the entire journey could be really fun in a fic that uses the loss of the Horcrux as a way to explore Harry's trauma from the war now that it's all over. He feels lighter, the weight he carried all his life is gone, but it leaves him empty and purposeless. That's why I think he would go back to 8th year — back home to find his balance.

regarding your recent posts on petit bougeoisie, one thing ive never managed to understand is how someone like an independent digital artist isnt considered to be selling their labour. in that scenario there is nothing they own that is making them more capable of making artworks, as they could fairly easily just be working off of a library computer or something, and what they’re selling is basicaly just the time and skill they’ve invested into producing their clients request. so besides the fact that they arnt being paid hourly and are instead charging based on how much work they’ve done, i dont really understand how they’re not considered to be selling their labour?
with something like a carpenter selling chairs or something i can more understand it as theres at least a physical thing being owned with the wood, and another being sold with the chairs, but even there it still seems like a stretch to say they’re not selling their labour at least in part, as the increased price of the chair compared to the wood is due to the work the carpeter put into sculpting it.
so far any reading ive done has been only really adressing small buisness owners who employ others and not really touching fully independent people working off of commisions or similar models of buisness, so im hoping you can clarify this for me or direct me to somewhere that does
Firstly, a clarification: a worker is not selling their labour, but rather their labour power. In some of the earlier works by Marx and Engles, they talk about selling their labour, which is later corrected to labour power. This is a more precise and useful term. When we refer to selling labour power, we are talking about the worker selling their ability to work for a given amount of hours in exchange for a wage. The worker who builds phones in a factory does not sell phones to the capitalist and their are not paid per phone. They are paid per hour. What is being purchased is their ability to work during those hours.
According to the formulation of labour in your ask, essentially everyone would be proletarian. In all commodities, regardless of who produces them and how they are made, the labour hours used to create them are factored into the price.
When it comes to independent artists, they are putting their labour power into the commodity (regardless if it is physical or digital) that their are selling, rather than selling the labour power itself. When an artist makes art in exchange for patreon money or doing comissions, the commodity that they are selling is the piece of art that they have made, rather than their labour power. They also receive income in the form of profits and not wages. This is in contrast with, for example, a digital artist who works for a AAA games company and is paid a wage for their ability to produce a certain amount of art per hour, rather than the piece of art itself.
In theory you could be an independent digital artist as someone who draws with a mouse on mspaint at a library computers and perhaps someone has done this before, but it is absolutely not how independent digital artists tend to operate. In reality, an independent digital artist is someone who owns a set of tools (copy of art software, computer, drawing tablet etc.) which act as the means of production when they produce a commodity (a piece of art that they intend to sell). When they invest their money into their further ability to produce more commodities (buying better software or hardware for example), that money acts as capital.
If I misinterpreted any part of your ask, please let me know.
As far as reading recommendations, and assuming that you have read Wage Labour and Capital, I would recommend Value, Price and Profit which touches more on this.

HELL YEAHHHH AND SERIOUSLY THE PARALLELS ARE INSANE I DEF RECOMMEND WATCHING IT BC. THERES SO MUCH. and hell yeah!!! good luck LMAO it’s. an absolute fucking ride. im also uh. sitting here thinking about the st peter-mike parallels and how young pete townshend happens to look quite a lot like finn/mike and has a very similar sense of style to mike to the point where i wouldnt be surprised if they intentionally looked at him for costuming.
mike also had a guitar in his bedroom. not only is pete a guitarist but he’s one of THE guitarists of all time in terms of influence. ever wonder why doc martens got popular? it’s very very largely because of pete townshend. the who were very much considered to be counter-culture AND had a lot of themes of eternal youth/eternal teenagers/eternal childhood in their work, much like we see in ST (baba o riley by the who is actually the song used in the st3 trailer and will has ‘my generation’, a song about dying young and about youth in general on his official playlist). i don’t think it’s a stretch at ALL that the stylists would’ve looked to pete for style inspiration for Mike, especially considering that pete is also queer AND has all of those counter-culture and rebellious themes tied to him and was very much a symbol of it at his time. like there’s also a ton of themes regarding the who in terms of what mike is dealing with and repression and catharsis and finally expressing oneself and even right down to mike’s family dynamic. like the line ‘i don’t need to be forgiven’ from baba o riley haunts me in terms of mike and just in terms of karen and the whole wheeler dynamic and karen cheating on ted and Everything. and it even ties into the metal stuff in s4 because while the who was not a metal band by any stretch, their bassist, john entwistle, is credited as to having invented/really popularized the death metal growl in ‘boris the spider,’ and the band as a whole inspired a bunch of musicians of various genres and was considered to be an early punk band/absolutely paved the way for punk and they were one of the first rock bands to really crash the boundaries of how loud a rock band could be with the volume and distortion and feedback, pete would frequently smash his guitar on stage, keith moon (their drummer) set up an unplanned explosion inside of his drums on national television, their live performances were very chaotic and just. ARGH. The entire band and their music is very very much about teenage frustration and angst and queercoding and trying to conform with society but then rejecting conformity and dealing with a nuclear family and political frustration (aids crisis and satanic panic in st) and those are all things we see with mike in s4. i cannot stress enough how much it makes SENSE for them to do a nod to pete intentionally with mike’s styling and how it wouldnt be the first time they’ve included stuff about the who, even if we ignore the tommy parallels.
this is an insane stretch moment FR but it’s worth noting that the guy who wrote the majority of Tommy, Pete Townshend (full name peter) wrote a lot of it based on his own life/experiences so in many cases, “Tommy” is actually “Peter”
stretching is not only okay but encouraged in this house. also i desperately need to watch that movie now if the parallels are getting even more intense holy FUCK
like i meant to watch it and i kinda forgor but now it’s something in neon flashing red in my brain and i might watch it tomorrow if not tonight
#stranger things#st analysis#mike wheeler#st costuming#mike wheeler costuming#st and the who#st music#dont mind me im very very very very very normal about the who#i could talk about them forever fr#i spent hours listening to them every day for an entire year (like id listened to them lots prior and still do but like. this was as much as#possible every day for a whole year) when i first started really realizing that i couldnt repress gender etc stuff anymore and was so mad#about it and dealing with a lot of other stuff and its just. theyre very cathartic even if mikes music taste is different the counter#culture vibes and catharisis and the fact that theres a LOT of themes tied to what mike is dealing with regarding the wheeler dynamic#ANYWAY SORRY FOR THE MASSIVE RANT ABOUT THE WHO I JUST. I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS OK#i have so. so many thoughts about the who this is one of my big interests#classic rock as a whole is of course but the who SPECIFICALLY#they fascinate me so much#u got my daily music rant because. god. god i am sososososososo normal about them#watching their live shows on youtube is like instant catharsis theyre s o good

GABRIELLE: “I never thought I’d see this.”
XENA: “What?”
GABRIELLE: “You washing blood off my hands.”
XENA: “I never thought I’d see it either.”
The inclination for Xena to lie and fashion fantasies to save Gabrielle in ‘Legacy’ is something I could spend hours on thinking and writing about. Of course she won’t let Gabrielle near her if that’s what she plans to do because Gabrielle would outright refuse to lie. Her actions and choices - she knows she must own up to them. But Xena… Xena would spend eternity and the next serving the greater good in retribution for all her past sins… but not when it’s Gabrielle that has to pay for her own crimes. In that case she’ll go against the grain. She’ll even go against it if Gabrielle didn’t do it.
Because as she said… Gabrielle is more important to her than the greater good. Than her own moral code.
Mostly because she’s HER greater good. But also because she believes she doesn’t deserve to face any consequences to actions - even if they are her own.
And it wouldn’t make much sense for Gabrielle to be the opposite. To put Xena second. Only if it’s herself - which is something I feel like ‘Fallen Angel’ got wrong.
But this is it though. This is what it comes down to. This is why these final Season 6 episodes make sense.
The greater good is only put first if it’s themselves. Each other? Not a chance. Not even if it’s just once. You can’t make them pay for their crimes with each other. That’s something they will not allow to happen.
I’ve wrote about this extensively before but it bears repeating again. Xena and Gabrielle were true heroes. Meaning they weren’t about self-gain at any point. But first and foremost, they were heroes to each other and if for any reason one of them made a mistake or had a misstep somewhere in their actions, the other will do anything possible - regardless of how dangerous or even morally wrong it might be - just to save them.
Now ‘Legacy’ is interesting because obviously the audience is going to be on Gabrielle’s side just as Xena is. Not just out of bias but because they’ve seen the full picture of what happened. They see how much of an accident it was. But nevertheless, it was still going to be murder in the eyes of everyone else - even those that worshipped them and would be biased based on that alone - because they didn’t see the full picture.
They didn’t see that it was an accident and they wouldn’t take Gabrielle’s word for it that it was. So Xena feels she has to lie because how else could she ensure Gabrielle’s survival? And once Gabrielle tells them the truth, she feels she has to betray them all to the Romans. She doesn’t care about what’s morally right because it’s Gabrielle that’s caught in the fire.
Not her.
Then theres ‘AFIN’ where even though we, as the audience, know Gabrielle would do the same - it’s still shocking to actually hear her say it. That she doesn’t care about what’s morally right. Different situations and circumstances aside - it ultimately doesn’t matter about that because it’s Xena that’s caught in the fire.
Not her.
It’s like what I explained in that post talking about WayHaught and the trope of doing crazy things for love or doing the selfish or immoral things for love.
When you’re more important to each other than the greater good - you’re going to go against the greater good to save one another or to keep one another alive.
UNLESS the other requests or pleads for you to not to.
And this is the major striking difference with Xena.
Xena’s only stipulation to the moral code of serving the greater good is Gabrielle. That would be true even if Gabrielle herself requested it the way Xena did in ‘AFIN’. Not even Gabrielle’s choice would deter her from saving her or keeping her alive. From protecting her. Keeping her safe. And it’s up to you whether you consider that to be a good thing or not. I find it quite selfish because it makes Gabrielle seem more like a possession to Xena than regarded as an equal to her.
But that’s Xena. That’s how she operates. You see, she gives up her happiness in ‘AFIN’ in that she lets her go on without her. But only because she’s the dead one.
Were it Gabrielle that had to make that sacrifice.
Nope. It wouldn’t happen. And ‘Legacy’ proved it.
So ‘Legacy’ is interesting because it’s a compelling confliction they face and would own up to the consequences of - of which we know would only be true if it was themselves rather than each other. But even more so on behalf of their own request - of which Gabrielle acquiesced to. Xena did and would not have.
Was the show about the greater good? Mostly…
I’d rather put it as it was about the greater sacrifice because what’s good about sacrificing with your own end? And if there’s someone that goes beyond or above that for you,… how do you deal? Because you’re not sacrificing with YOUR end. You’re sacrificing with THEIRS. What if they specifically ask you to let them?
Do you ignore it? Or do you respect it? COMPELLING.
