Laughter Leaves the Perfect Opening for Heartbreak

I read this somewhere and I cannot for the life of me remember where now. But I have taken this to heart.

Writing a good, silly, funny character is hard. Sometimes you go too far and they're more irritating than funny. Because laughter is a legitimately hard emotion to evoke in people. A lot of comedians have opening acts because you have to warm up the audience - get them in the mood for laughter. Because to make someone laugh intentionally when you know maybe they're not feeling like it - that's hard. When they know a joke is coming, people guard themselves - so the joke has to be really, truly funny.

And when you get people to laugh - honest and sincerely laugh? Boom. Straight shot to the heart. The walls are down. Move in.

Because when you're dealing with a sad character, you know you're gonna be sad. Going through a sad story that starts sad just becomes an exercise in endurance. Which isn't necessarily "oh this made me sad" but like "Im already sad and Im trying to be different". Tragic is a gut punch when its a status change and not like an ongoing status effect.

There's a thin line between comedy and tragedy, but not just in a comic scene could easily be twisted as a tragic scene. The thin line is also all the ways a comedy sets an audience up for tragedy. When the audience is all warmed up, they're easier to affect - their emotions are loose and for the molding.

Which is why Sam is So Good. His perfectly tragic characters are those that make you really happy - take you up and up and up. So it's a hard fall down.

FCG/Loquacious are perfect tragedies because they're supposed to be shy of ridiculous.

ˋ☆ — i was waiting in line to get onto the bus for the end of year senior field trip. as sad i was for this to be my last field trip ever, i was excited to go to disney to be my last one. i got on the bus, seeing how there wasn’t that much room.

my eyes darted towards an open seat in the back. with a small sigh of relief, i made my way to it. i sat next to chris that i was somewhat friends with. “hi.” i speak softly. “oh hey, you excited?” he asked me, flashing me a smile.

“yeah! i haven’t been to disney in a long time, how about you?” i reply with a small smile in return. “eh, sort of. im not that much of a disney person, i really like universal more.” the brunette boy told me. my eyebrows raised slightly. i hum softly in reply before my eyes looked around the bus. it was incredibly crowded and to make it worse, a teacher came up to us.

“is it alright if you can move so i can place this box there?” the blonde curly haired lady asked me while holding a box filled with lunchboxes. i bit the inside of my bottom lip. “oh? uhh i don’t know where else to sit.” i say, my fingers starting to fidget with the lace on the hem of my shirt. “you could sit on my lap.” chris suggested nonchalantly. my face turned to face his, “you sure?” i said with a slight tint of worry in my voice.

“yeah i dont mind.” he said. after we got the approval from the teacher, i crawled onto chris’ lap. my back pressed against his chest comfortably and i placed my draw string bag on top of all the lunchboxes. “let me know if ya’ get uncomfortable.” chris reminded me as he awkwardly placed his hands in my lap. i nod, blushing a little bit when he placed his hands on my lap.

the bus started moving after a little bit, and as time passed i was getting bored. i turned towards my bag and grabbed my headphones and my phone so i could listen to music. just as i put one of the airpods in, the bus drove on a speed bump, making me bounce a little bit on chris’ lap. i heard his breath hitch a little bit, making me ask him if he was okay. “‘m okay.” he said, his hands starting to play around with my thighs that were being barely covered from my jean skirt.

venom the last dance is the third movie in the venom series and people who haven't watched the movies are probably wondering whats going on. whoever you're following has probably posted or reblogged some sort of eddie brock x venom thing. yes of course. mlm ships are popular and theyre the main characters. of course theyre gonna get shipped. just like stucky or other hot main male characters. nothing really special about these guys. right?

wrong! because as opposed to the other ones being non-canon ships where we just look at everything and say "thats gay" or look at it through shipping tinted glasses, symbrock is a bit special.

first movie moments. im skipping smaller moments and i'll try to not write out the whole plot.

eddie and venom go through a whole car chase scene on a motorbike, and the moment eddie calls him cool, they get his by a car. often interpreted as venom losing focus from the praise

-omg why would that lead to venom losing focus?? because venom, on its planet, is a loser. bottom of the barrel. an outcast. and someone called it cool. venom sees that eddie is also a bit of a loser on his planet. theyre two losers together. Eddie asks why he doesnt just kill him and hop to another host, but venom says that hes a good match (other bodies reject the symbiote, and die from organ failure/eaten from the inside) and venom is "starting to like him" venom also gets a bit stuck on the moment that eddie says we instead of i. its both of them. together.

later eddie finds out his organs were failing (venom was starving and was working on fixing it) and when they get seperated the way he acts is kind of framed like a bad breakup. its not "im free from this parasite! yippie!" its "i trusted you and you hurt me. we're done" sort of breakup. venom tries to say he was trying to fix it but eddie ignores it (not the exact words but if you look at it you'll get it)

eddie gets taken away by the bad guys and venom hops on eddies ex and they reunite. and its not just reunite.

fun fact! theres a sort of deleted scene where eddie asks "who was i kissing just then?" and she says "mostly me" and then we hear venoms voice saying "well actually it was mostly me!" ALSO at the end of the movie, she says it was venoms idea. this was venom and eddie making out. not eddie and his ex. they do not get back together. she has a new boyfriend and they've moved in together so its serious.

venoms original purpose as to why the symbiotes are on earth was as a scouting party for an invasion force. venom changes his mind on being on the invasion part. eddie asks what REALLY made him change his mind "you did eddie."

also after the movie was in theaters they made an additional romcom trailer to promo the dvd/blueray release. the movie. framed as a romcom. im not kidding. on sonys official youtube. for both movies.

speaking of both movies, the second one has them breaking up! full on divorce after fighting and arguing!! very sad. and then venom goes to a rave (october, there are costumes, hes fully transformed) and says "i am out! of the eddie closet!" HES COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET. one person at the rave has a mask on that says "kiss me" and venom says "sorry no, not my type" THEN WHAT IS YOUR TYPE HUH??? MEN?? SWEATY LOSER GUYS??? his hosts keep failing because theyre not as compatible as eddie. and after having fun venom is sad and wishes eddie could've seen him. they of course, get back together* after some apologizes and because they need to fight a serial killer who also has a symbiote (carnage) because previously, they went to interview him, he insulted eddie, venom got mad on eddies behalf and grabbed him, resulting in getting bit, and that spawned a new symbiote from the blood. also the serial killer, (cletus kassidy) went to bust out his girlfriend who upon seeing his tentacles breaking her glass cage, called it hot.

*when they get reunited (anne helps out again) theres no kiss this time, and annes fiancee, after seeing them fight, says "those two need some serious couples counseling"

after a big climactic fight and mutual reassuring that theyre a perfect match for one another, they flee to some random place in mexico where they sort of have a love confession. theres an extended deleted version of it but i think many of us think they cut it down to save it for the third movie. also they get transported to the mcu in the post-credit and then re-appear in the post-credit of spider-man where theyre just sitting at a bar asking the bartender about the blip and thanos. venom decides to go skinny dip but they get transported back to their universe. net zero gain.

THE THIRD MOVIE

hasnt come out yet. but the promotional things. the trailer. my god the tiktoks and twitter clips?? WHY IS THE TIKTOK VIDEO CAPTION VENOM X EDDIE 4EVER??? HUH???? WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH ME!?!?! IF I GET QUEERBAITED IM GONNA EXPLODE WHY IS ONE OF THEM FRAMED LIKE A COUPLES COUNSELING HELP GUIDE.

Predictions for Arcane as a franchise + my thoughts! Season 2, Act 3 spoilers ahead.

jayce, viktor, and jinx can't be dead. Let me tell you why.

no. 1, Arcane's been pretty explicit with deaths. Silco, Vi and Cait's moms, Benzo, the sergeant from season 1 act 1 etc etc we've all seen dead bodies, time pass without them coming back, or character arcs shifting to accommodate deaths (lsha's and Silco's death shaping Jinx). In season 2, Maddie's, Ambessa's, and random extra's deaths were all shown on screen. Therefore, if we don't see a body, the body's still moving.

no. 2, while this is Arcane's last season, there's going to be more Runeterra shows. Of course we don't know what's going to happen over there, but I don't think Riot and Fortische are just going to throw Arcane's characters away unless they do. "the arcane is waking up" and all that jazz. Seems to me like the arcane isn't back to sleep, and who has experience with the arcane. Oh, right, all these cool guys. Leading to points 3 and 4.

no. 3, Jayce's crystal, given to him by the mage (Viktor) in season 1, was used for teleportation, if I remember correctly. Rather than dying/getting sucked into the crystal, they've been teleported somewhere else and will be used to shift the focus onto that location. This fits. Moving to a completely different location would disrupt the glorious evolution. Plus we didn't see their bodies so.

EDIT: apparently it was the rune of insight or smth. my bad. Still, theres a chance? Please Riot, pleaaseee

no. 4, Jinx my beloved. There was a line of shimmer leaving the explosion at the bottom of the pit, and the epilogue of Cait looking at the pit and seeing air ducts hints that Jinx/Powder escaped. I'm pretty sure the Zepplin shown at the end was to imply she left Piltover and Zaun, finally becoming her own person. Throughout the show, her identity was determined by her relationships (hair mirroring Silco's, smoke tattoos for Vi, mental illness from causing her brothers' deaths), and with hallucination Silco suggesting the best way to change the Cycle of Killing is leaving, that's what she chose to do. Additionally, her handwriting for the "the end" at the finale suggests that she was there to write it. She's alive guys trust me. Her change of scenery can be used to shift the focus to a different location.

My personal Thoughts:

on no. 4, I would hate it if they decided to kill Jinx after she found herself. It's overused. Seeing Jinx/Powder finally become herself without Silco's, Zaun's, and her sister's baggage in a new place would be super interesting. As someone who doesn't play League, I've heard there's some blond character she's shipped with from a different country/city? Foreshadowing perhaps? Plus it'd be so in character for her to start a new series with a chaotic "I bet you're wondering what I did after I faked my death."

Cait and Vi will probably remain in Piltover/Zaun doing reform (the show's whole point). The reason why Vi didn't look super duper sad is probably because she's going through shock or because Cait reassured her that Jinx/Powder isn't dead (air ducts). Ekko's probably going to do reform w/ the power couple because that's his motivation.

The sex scene's context is a bit odd, but Jinx literally gave Vi permission to be with Cait so... ? When life gives you lemons, give your gf head i guess. Wish Cait did apology head though, she really hurt Vi... But then again, Vi probably wanted to get lost in the sauce and forget about everything around her, hence the "I don't fucking care" comment.

Jayce was right, Viktor was blinded. Love that they're in love.

It's so interesting to see Sevika going from backing revolutionaries (Silco and Vander) to becoming a revolutionary herself and actually getting a seat on the council!! She went from kingmaker to king.

Thought season 2 was kinda rushed? Idk wished we had hour long episodes just to flesh things out.... still a great season.

It's not over. With the success this show's been giving Netflix, there's at least twenty more on the horizon. God bless Riot and Fortische.

how do you improve on capturing the essences of characters in fanart? like your twdg fanart looks SO good. but when i try to draw fanart of the characters i end up with something that looks nothing like them. any advice?

hmmmm ive never articulated this so hopefully i can answer this well enough

most importantly i did studies of them. and by studying i mean really paying attention to and breaking down the shapes AND proportions of their faces. both are equally important to capturing someones likeness. its why i did this lineup. just really breaking them down

ask yourself what features make this character identifiable. what makes them look like Them? aside from their shapes, its usually in the proportions of features relative to each other (size of chin/distance of eyes/width and height of nose/features relative to the size of the face/stuff like that). knowing proportion rules will help you here (distance between eyes=one eye length=width of nose. corners of mouth line up between inner and center of eyes. ear length between bottom of nose and center/tops of eyes (theres a lot of rules but these are the ones i consider most)). even if a character has close features they will still averagely be in proportion to each other and same goes for a character with wide features. let the rules guide your eye

when i draw a character i usually start by drawing the shape of the head First (i also do this when doing regular portrait studies). then add the features. it helps to keep things in proportion when you know your boundaries

when i break down the shape of the head i pay attention to these areas: forehead to cheekbones, cheekbones to jaw, jaw to chin. also cheekbones to upper lip if im drawing them from an angle. is their structure rounder and softer or harder and angular? a wide jaw or a small one? wide chin small chin? lower cheekbones higher cheekbones/general prominence? long head or short head?

then i worry about the features themselves. aside from using rules to plot them, this is where shape become important again in capturing their likeness. clem and aj both have larger eyes but weighted differently (clem rounder on the outside. aj rounder on the inside). louis' are more almond shaped. violets more hooded. are the eyebrows thinner or thicker? do they have shape? (clems have a triangulation to them (specifically S1-3) but violets are more simple lines. louis' are thicker and taper off. aj's are pretty small and not too thick). shape of the nose? shape of the mouth? the lips? are they fuller or thinner? wide? pout?

another thing for likeness when drawing characters like.. Actually Living is to consider what emotions drive their reactions/expressions. characters express feelings differently. how does this character express anger? sadness? happiness? are they more open with their feelings or reserved? are they unimpressed? do they get shy? what embarrasses them? what excites them? are they mischievous or more serious? its about the overall behavior of the character and the cumulative average of their emotional reactions to create a sort of baseline to work from (does this make sense? 😭)

UUHHH.. im sure theres more i could say but thats the gist of it. just takes time and practice. use references!! dont be afraid to trace them either if youre stumped itll help 💕

And Muriel definitely lives off the grid - I also remember another ask arcana that said in modern times he'd wear a cable knit sweater on top and leather pants and demonias on bottom and that works so well for him XD

I actually think a fmbh au where circumstances (either Otto’s planning or Luke saying he’s not a Virgin in order to get out of it) see Aemond being the one people look to to carry the child. As you’ve said it would be an extremely traumatic event for him and I def think Luke would command Aemond to be silent on their wedding night while he messed up the sheets and cut his own hand to fake the blood. Pressured by Otto, you are tots right he would refuse to switch position even if Luke offered so I think Luke would def use his position as Aemond’s lord and husband to accept a faked bedding. This au would be so interesting because I feel like Alicent and Otto would pressure Aemond into continually trying to seduce Luke when a baby obviously didn’t arrive. In your story, Luke and Aemond kept coming back to each other for sexual release not only for their own sense of loyalties to not cheat, but also because they had slept together with assigned rolls on their wedding night that fit the comfort they had in their own bodies. Hate sex is a powerful way to draw characters to each other, but I think with this wedding night of Aemond being forced to bottom, they would never return to each other sexually so easily as we might see in fmbh. What would the story look like of their marriage was a stale one with no sex because Aemond was terrified of his own body which turned to even worse resentment, and Luke hated Aemond too from the start so he wasn’t about to spread his own legs. Thoughts??

You’re spot on. Having sex with someone you don’t even like is already bad enough but being forced to fit yourself into a role you’ve never been comfortable with whilst forced to acknowledge a part of yourself that you’ve been taught to view as shameful would def create a barrier between these two that wouldn’t allow for the dynamic we currently see to flourish. Since in this scenario the bedding was faked and they never actually had sex no emotional nor physical ties are created (which is good considering it would’ve been incredibly traumatic for both of them but especially Aemond). There’s no urge to seek each other out for more despite the hatred there, no dealing with a sudden desire to have that connection once more since hate is incredibly powerful and oftentimes goes hand in hand with lust. That lust soon having turned into genuine desire and an urge for affection.

Aemond would begin to view having sex with Luke as something to dread for the simple fact that his mother and Grandfather want him to carry on the Hightower line through Driftmark. I can clearly see a constant pressure on his shoulders throughout the years to finally go through with it just to get things over with and honor his families wishes, but always falling through last minute. Memories of Luke on top of him with pity in his eyes inspiring such anger because he’s put his body through years of training to never be seen as weak again. Shame that his nephew even saw him in such a state at all. He can’t follow through even when he feels like a complete failure every time his mother asks him if he’s yet with child only for the answer to be “no” time and time again. Theres too much negative emotion there to inspire anything other than hate and frustration.

It’s the same for Luke to a certain extent; while he surely doesn’t like Aemond he can’t help but feel horrible. He isn’t blind, he knows his husband is dealing with constant pressure to bear an heir no matter how much Luke insists it won’t be necessary as his point anout Driftmark passing through one of his sisters still stands. There’s pity alongside his dislike as well as sadness. Rhaenyra would never in a million years do something like that to him, so to see Alicent’s eyes on Aemond’s belly is hurtful. And he isn’t even the person her presence is digging into.

Luke is 100% the sort of man who’d want to have a discussion after x amount of years has passed because it’s that much of a sore spot. But Aemond refuses off jump; it’s bad enough he’s expected to act as Luke’s broodmare, why must he open himself up emotionally as well? Especially to the person who took his eye and still to this day has never apologized (at least in this Au)

However, I do see Laena being the one who slowly brings them together. Alicent would likely insist that Aemond take to her like a mother would in perpetration for when its his own time. At first he isn’t all that receptive because he’d always imagined if he were to have children he’d be a father rather than a mother, but soon enough he actually finds himself relaxed with parenting. If Laena cries he takes to her instead of servants, if she’s hungry he’ll stay and watch as she’s fed. Of course Luke’s there, so taking care of her would open them up to each other slowly yet surely.

Overall, 9.5/10, thoughts at the bottom of the post. Half point removed for having an odd pacing, not much technically happened but also a lot happened as well, i always think the events of this one are in forest of secrets.

9.5/10, technically a lot happened but it also felt like nothing happened, so half a point off. I liked it though, the writing is holding up so far, everyone's mostly in character- aside from sandstorm's flip-flopping- and the fire scenes were brutal. Not necessarily my favourite so far, but high up

Down the Hall, to the Left...

Oh this poor boy. He has no clue where he is going. Why is he here again? To find someone, something? Suppose it doesn't matter now. Silly thing, sanity. I would not call this sad display “Sanity.” This sad meander down the halls. Left, left, left, to the left again. He goes in a circle and doesn't even know it. When he turns around to try and leave the way he came his face smacks against the wall that wasn’t there just a moment before. But now… You could say that he's given up. 

Oh look at that, stairs. He’s just staring at it. When he looks you can see the darkness of the bottom swell into his eyes, tears. Pathetic. You can see his chest rise and fall, far too quickly. He sits down on the top step, his hands behind him on the solid carpeted ground. He falls to the side, idly tracing the patterns on the floor, that strange repeating floral pattern. Finally, he breaths. Sits up and begins his descent. 

The moment that his head is under the ground level all goes dark. He stops his breath hitching in his throat. He puts his hand behind him, likely expecting a new wall. But no. He does not feel the wall. Instead. It is warm and wet. He has stopped breathing. I curl my fingers in his short curly brown hair. He is now sobbing. 

He pulls his hands away from me. Uncertain. Quiet. He wants to be calm, become one with the quiet around him, but his insides refuse to quiet. The rush of his blood in his veins screams, the churn of his stomach nearly threatens to break the quiet but I don’t think either one of us would hear it even if it did. It will soon. It’s been too long since the last time he's eaten. 

He slowly continues his steps. One, two, three. Boo, lost count. I’m relishing this. I can’t lie. I won’t. Every few moments he stops. He feels behind him. He feels me. He cries. He lets go. Over and over. It takes so long for him to compose himself. I think what I’m doing is comfort. Stroking his hair, holding his hand, rubbing his back. I’m not trying to get him wet, but I think he prefers to be a bit wet and warm, then so cold that his breath fogs. It’s getting better though. With every step it gets a little warmer. More humid. 

He only knows he is stepping in water because of the sound. Even so, with every step he continues to take down the stairs, he does not get deeper in the water, it only ever gets to his ankles. Yet still, he goes down. 

When he sees the first light of the pools, he just stops. His grip on my hand tightens. I was right about what I was doing. It really was comfort. Oh no. He’s taking steps back. His back is flush with my waste. My hair dangles over his face. It's cute honestly. How he looks everywhere but me. He can’t look down. Theres enough light in here now for him to see my reflection. He can’t look up because, well. Me. And, for some odd reason I couldn’t even begin to think of why, he can't close his eyes. That the new reason he’s crying. Probably. His eyes are so dry. The tears are salty sweet. When one falls I catch it with the tip of my finger. I either put it back in his eye or bring it to my lips. 

He huphing now. Huge breaths in and bigger breaths out.  Jumping on his toes and- Well now he's starting to run. I’m still right behind him. He can’t even move quickly given the water. Even if I had to actually move to keep up, he’d never lose me. I hope he knows that. 

We're here. The pools. It’s so blue. My favorite room. So pretty. He has to look straight ahead to avoid me. Avoid looking at me. Everything is shiny and reflective. He looks to his sides and sighs. He can clearly see the railings on the sides of the pools. BUt he can also see that the sides say that the depth is at least six feet deep. He knows what that means. I know he does. So he makes no move for the railings. When I tried to, they stayed exactly where they were no matter how far I walked toward them. Probably because they weren’t there then. They aren’t there now. 

He’s looking forward now. Right at me. He has blue eyes. Mine were blue. I don’t know what color they are now. It’s always intense for someone to look at me, but it’s all I’ve ever wanted. I move forward and he takes a step back bringing him closer to me. He sees this and swivels his little head in all directions to try and figure out what happened. He looks back at me and he’s closed half of the distance. His pink lips contort into horrible angles for his face. They won’t be horrible for long. 

Finally he takes a step forward, clearly hoping against hope that it will take him backward.

He is right in front of me. I reach for the single tear dripping down his cheek. It is his last. I drop the tear into the pools. He is looking me right in the eyes. I am looking him right in the eyes. I reach the tip of my finger out to him. I push him with just that finger. 

He falls into the water when I push him… All the way in. and then he comes out. He has not fallen. He still stands, but he no longer stands in the same room he was in. He’s in the boiler room. I am no longer in front of him. He has to turn around to see me. His shoulders are shaking yet there is no sound. None other, at least, than the crackling of fire. That foul smell in the air is enough to tell him what’s burning in that room. It’s bright red blends and bleeds with the purple walls and the bright orange neon lights. They line the walls. I don’t like this room. I hate this room. But I can’t stop the man from moving. He’s letting go of my hand. I want to hold onto it and make him look at me. But the key word is willing. So I let go. HE steps a shaky step, probably realizing for the first time that he was holding my hand. He still walks. And walks. RIght into the fire. And now… He’s closing the door. Pathetic idiot. I leave him to burn. like everyone else. I hope one day someone else will join me. It does get a little lonely here. But there's always plenty of company.

in the start XChara was depicted as a bright and happy kid along with XFrisk, with him getting upset over XGaster saying he's gonna end it all maybe it's safe to say he was happy being with XGaster and his works despite XGaster being underwhelmed with himself and his creations. And then Ink came right? Yeah it was all fun and games until XGaster decided to kill off Asriel

on the first overwrite XChara did nothing to stop it and just stood there.

on the second timeline he started growing upset and kept reminiscing about his past with Asriel, until Asgore became the big guy here and cheered him up. So like he got into a sad state but got cheered up in hopes for a better future, until XGaster deemed this timeline was too boring so he killed both the supports of XChara and XFrisk (Asgore and Sans (rip babygirl)) and that got XChara ANGRY

for once XChara stood up and tried to defend what's left in the timeline, but after XGaster's stiff "just let me work" he let go and just stood there bracing for impact again.

There was a part on timeline III where XChara called out XGaster for being insecure, so uhh his hate for him was like, starting to arise up now.

In Timeline IV it was shown the XChara locked himself in his room waiting for everything to end in the timeline, so yeah so he hits rock bottom in this timeline and his v v upset n all, and all that changed when XGaster took XFrisk to make him do genocide n stuff and XChara was like oohhh shit ohhh ooohhhhh and then like XALPHYS GIVES XMUFFET A CODIGO SAYING WHATS GOING AWN and then he stops XFrisk from stabbing XChara and told him thaf "he never cared about you" anx "you should stand up for yourself, stop him now" smn smn smn so XChara took that and rebelled against XGaster and punched him in the balls then resets the timeline

WHICH XGASTER FOUND RUDE so he sent off the twins to a timeline wherein no one knows them and XChara and XFrisk HATED everyone so they like planned to kill XGaster (i think) and then targetted XAlphys to like tell them where XGaster is and XUndyne butts in and beats the livinf shit out of them so like yeah yeah XChara hes so pissed rn so they took a moment to just unwind

then like XUndyne goes and offered the twins trainings, basically XUndyne gave them hope that they'd be a able to beat the shit out pf XGaster to which XChara took because he BELIEVED theres still hope, atp XFrisk already gave up

so like yada yada yada yeahh XChara went ti trainings and then they ambush XGaster n all n stuff and XUndyne fucking dies and XChara gets his half soul fragment stolen now he's sharing a soul with XGaster (which mind you, at this point the person he hates the most)

now, in XChara's timeline he's like,,, he killed XFrisk multiple times as commanded by XGaster (i THINK)

since they share a soul now XChara changed drastically, he probably judt submitted to XGaster n all (orrr that thing warped his perception of everythknf or smn like that)

then XChara says he wants XFrisk back, SOMETHING TO NOTE HERE is that throughout the whole series XChara still cares for his brother, XFrisk, even if it seems off putting, no matter what. and thats what i find endearing

so like yeah XGaster just said FUCK IT then revives XFrisk and prolly merge their souls so now XChara is this ghost that gpes around w XFrisk

take note XGaster said "2 masterminds in 1 body" or something similar,this is probably unimportant but this part was the whole theme for the X-Event (will be talking abt X-Event in another message)

In the next timelines, XChara can be described as someone with the brains, an ASSHOLE, a PIECE OF SHIT and someone who lacks boldness when going without a plan, a sadist and yada yada yada

now heres what makes me relate to him, through timeline IX (or Papyrus, i forgot my roman numerals) instead of reacting as happy and cheerful to a new crowd he now reacts to it with disgust

much like how XGaster would, in Papyrus' timeline he started acting much like XGaster would, in short he's becoming the person he hated the most.

despite him growing like XGaster he still sticks to his original goals, props to him

so like YEAH but at this point it looks like his care for XFrisk is deteriorating, it's like all he cares about now is his goals and not his brother (but his goal is literally to end XGaster to stop the suffering so....,, slay ig?)

he started forgetting why he even stuck around with him brother, he didn't care what it takes he didn't care what will happen to XFrisk when he makes him do all these crazy shit all he cared about was his plan

he always strived for a better future, so much he forgot about everyone else

he basically turned into a manipulative piece of shit 😍

so like yada yada yada stuff he tells XFrisk to make Cross (aka my husband <3) kill him

the difference between XFrisk and XChara on this timeline is that XFrisk still cares, XChara lacked empathy at this point

oh yeaj did i mentioned XChara also threatened Cross to KILL XFrisk because that's how determined he is

and when he found advantage knowing XGaster's half soul wasn't with him and it'd be easy to kill him off and take the soul he took it and used it

his second plan to kill XGaster was to give everyone back their memories of the previous timelines so they're mad n all

but since Cross refused to cooperate on his first plan he decided to tell XFrisk to tell everyone to just kill him off or leave him alone

now this, this is the part where they thought they reached victory but nope, Cross comes in and kills everyone then takes XFrisk's soul and then BOOM the world is deleted and his whole plan goes in shambles

he was quick to planning, he tried to kill Cross to be free from his body and go back to his originsl host (XFrisk) so they could still overwrite but noooo Cross kills XFrisk too 💀

so like there

hes stranded, so he chose to try and manipulate Cross (he was successful)

so basically he poured his soul, life, time and XCharussy into putting XGaster down which just failed in the end :(

the thing to alwaye remember about XChara is that no matter whay happens that hoe never backs down #SlayXChara

A/N: So sorry for leaving yall hanging! Life is just crazy right now and this blog needs a lot of TLC tbh!! Also ehh I def dont think this was my best work but enjoy?

“Oof” Y/N lets out as she plops on to her boyfriend who was lying comfortable on the couch. Tom groaned at the impact with a cheeky smile on his face, his arms instantly wrapping around Y/N’s frame.

“Y’know..there are empty seats right there.” The soft brown-eyed boy gestured with the flick of his thick head as Y/N raises her eyes looking down at him, pretending to be slightly offended.

“Oh I see how it is then. It’s cool...Ill just cuddle with Tessa instead. I know she would welcome me with open arms instead of—” As she slowly starts getting off his chest, Tom is quick to pull her back in, securing her with his strong arms. “No baby, I was just kidding. I want you right here, and Im never letting you go.” he pleas.

The only thing Y/N could manage was letting out a fit of giggles into his chest, a sound that Tom adored and would do absolutely anything to hear every minute of every day. They stay like this for a while enjoying the feeling of each other as they both run their hands into each others hair, the feeling of their chests moving up and down, the subtle thumps of their heartbeats, and the little slips of adoration that came out of their mouths. It was peaceful. A moment that nobody could really take a way because it was theirs.

Y/N casually pulls up her phone, and scrolls through Twitter when she noticed a particular tweet on her timeline. Her eyebrows furrow, as she read the 160 character message.

She knew it wasnt a good idea to open up the thread. She knew very well that everything within the shallow string of tweets would be a complete waste of her time because it was made up by fans who just wanted to satisfy their fantasy of shipping Tom with his co-star. Who can blame them? They always had great chemistry, but it was part of the job and thats all it would ever be.

“You’re awfully quiet.” Tom murmurs, as he places soft kisses at the crown of her head. “Whats going on?” She was lucky her phone was facing away from Tom, quickly closing the app and pretending to be on one of her many tabs in Safari.

“Mmm..nothing.” Y/N lies softly, a tight-lipped smiled plastered on her face.

“Absolute bullocks. Youre not a very good liar.” He chuckles. “Tell me darling. Whats on your mind?”

Y/N rolls her eyes in response. She’s heard that comment one too many times in her life from everyone shes known. After not giving it much thought, she gives in, sighing heavily. “Dont judge me for what Im about to say.”

“Mmm...I think it might depend on wha— Ow” Tom reacts as he playfully rubs the side of his chest that Y/N hit. “Okay too soon for jokes. Go on.”

Again, Y/N sighs as she props herself up. “Its just ... well a lot of your fans keeps talking about wanting you to get with Aaliyah.” She looks down trying not to make eye contact with Tom, who she’d imagine was looking at her with annoyance.

Tom rolls his eyes at the ridiculousness. Not so much at Y/N but the fact that some of his fans just didnt want to accept the fact that he was happy with Y/N. If it had to come from his mouth to stop the stupid rumors and give his girlfriend peace, then hed gladly yell it from the rooftops for everyone to hear. “Thats it Im making a statement about it.”

Y/N’s eyes widen in fear, scrambling to prevent him from grabbing his phone on the table next him. “No no no no.” She repeatedly declines. “You’ll only make it worse.”

“Darling, Im not going to stand here and watch you get all insecure because of their delusional ship.”

“Yeah well Im not gonna be the reason your fans hate me because Im getting in the way of your friendship with Aaliyah Cole.” She fires back.

Tom was ready to open his mouth only to be cut off once again. “And you know better. That is how your fans will always see it.”

“Okay, are you done?” He calmly asked, cautiously observing her. Rarely did Y/N ever get worked up about anything, but when she had her tangents, Tom always made sure she got off everything she needed to say before he becomes her voice of reason.

“Yeah, I guess.” she says feeling defeated. “Look its whatever and Im tired, can we just let this go and forget this whole conversation even happened?”

Tom was unconvinced, but didnt want to push her further. So reluctantly, he gave in and wrapped his arms around Y/N as they both tried to lull themselves to sleep.

Y/N wasnt sure how she ended up in the Tube. It was strange how the lights flickered off the rusted tile floor. The train was no where to be seen, but off to the side of the railroads was pitch black, she could hardly see beyond. To her right she noticed herself standing in the corner of the room, and to her surprise Aaliyah was there. Her milk chocolate kissed skin, and fashionably long frizzy hair dropped down past her shoulders. Her figure long and poised, as she wore a rain jacket and sweats. An outfit only she could pull off and make it look like she was a model for Vogue. Aasliyah smiles brightly at Y/N.

“Hey Y/N.” She says cheerfully as a genuine friend would.

To Y/N’s surprise she greeted her back in the same tone. “Hey Aaliyah...uhh whats going on?” Y/N wasnt sure if she wanted the answer of how they both ended up in the Tube or if she truly wanted to know how her day went.

“Well Im getting ready to present at the Oscars.” She replies, a smile plastered as if she was so excited about it, almost too excited like she was keeping a secret.

“Really? Oh my god, that’s amazing! Im so proud of you Aaliyah! Who are you taking?”

Aaliyah pauses for a few moment looking back and forth, making sure no one else was around. “Okay can you keep a secret?” She whispered.

Y/N nods her head slowly, not having the slightest clue of what was going on. “Im taking Tom. I think he really likes me, and well...I like him too! Do you think maybe I should ask him when we go?” Aaliyah asked genuinely. It was almost like she had no recollection of Y/N and Tom being a couple. “I think we would look good together. Everyone is already making rumors and ships about us.”

Y/N backs aways lowly only to bump into a broad figure. As she turns around she sees Tom, emotionless and almost sad. “Y/N.” He speaks out. “I dont think this is going to work out. Im leaving you.”

Y/N’s heart quickens, and her breaths become shorter as she tries to find a way to run. Running and running into the darkness, until all she could hear was Tom’s faint voice calling out her name.

“Y/N! Y/N! Baby wake up please.” Tom cries as he gently shakes his girlfriend from her disturbed sleep.

Quickly Y/N opens her eyes and clutches on to Toms hoodie firmly. Back home, and in Toms arms. It was a dream was all she thought. A sigh of relief escaping from her mouth.

“Darling...” he speaks softly, worried about his girlfriend. “Are you okay?”

Y/N looks up at him and nods frantically. “Mmm..bad dream.”

“Yeah it seemed like it. You were so frightened...I was scared. What happened?” He’s looking at her, trying to read her saddened eyes, wanting to desperately understand what scared her so he could make it all go away for her.

Y/N looks down at her fiddling hands, as she sits on the couch. “I uhh...” she lets out a chuckle, thinking of the ridiculousness of it all. “I uhh...dreamed about Aaliyah going to the oscars and saying how she loved you and how you two are perfect for each other. When I turned around I saw you but you werent happy and said you were leaving me.”

Tom doesnt say a word, all he could think about was how sorry he felt to put Y/N in this position. Though both of them knew, It wasnt Toms fault, or anyone’s for that matter. Feelings are feelings and that was okay. No human being was ever born perfect and without insecurities.

Y/N always tried to be a good sport with situations like this knowing every shippers theory and evidence were hardly ever true, but at some point there was only so much she could take before it all came out like an oil spill. Maybe it was a sign that she wasnt good enough to be with Tom if half of his fanbase thought this way as well.

Tom cradled her into his arms again, holding her tightly and kissing the top of her head. “Darling, I know youre still doubting yourself about all of this, but please believe me when I tell you that I love you so so much and no matter what happens...Im always yours.” He whispers gently in her ear. “It was only a dream and these ridiculous rumors and theories are just that. No one woman in the world could ever make me feel the way I feel for you.”

Y/N blinks softly, as she stares into space. Afraid and in a weird way ashamed, its funny how something so small and so minimal could affect her self-esteem so greatly. Tom gently brings her head up, so her eyes can meet his. He rolls his thumb on the bottom of her soft lips. “Hey, I love you.” Tom smiles.

Time stopped for the both of them the moment Y/N looked into his eyes, she felt safe. All the bad words and thoughts slowly disappear. Tom was right, none of the things that anyone said about their relationship mattered. She knew Tom loved her, and how much she truly loved him. Isnt that enough? Of course not. It was more than enough. A smile slowly forming on Y/N’s face. “Theres that smile I love so much.” He comments.

“Im sorry, for being such a —”

“No. Its okay. You have a right to feel the way you did.” He picks up her hand and leaves a gentle kiss.

“I love you so much Tom.” She says pressing her lips to his. “I dont deserve you.”

“Darling, its me that doesnt deserve you. Im always yours.” Tom proclaims as he kisses her back.

also, note: I havent caught up on bnha in a minute, I'm at like the start of the war arc but I barely remember shit there tbh so like. probs missing new stuff. also bnha spoiler warnings lol

so, for starters, the homie bakugou has like,, a good handful of issues that come from his childhood that explain why he's an ass. he was always praised and never actually reprimanded for being a twat which led to him having a huge ego that ended up fucking him over majorly. this ego was something that his mother acknowledged him having, but literally didnt try to fix it with anything other than violence. see here:

like, instead of trying to help him, she hits and insults him, which is probably what led to his weird inferiority/superiority complex. being constantly told by others that you're outstanding and one day you'll be a top hero because you're rude and aggressive and then going home and being hit by your mother for those exact same behaviors is bound to fucking confuse a child.

so like, now that we've established that its definetly canon that his mother (parents? I think he said parents at some point but masaru doesn't seem like the type so 🤷) hits him though we don't know how much or how often (though if bakugou was as much of a little shit back then ((which as far as we've seen- he was)) then it was probably often), lets talk about how regardless of all that 1) hitting your kids as "discipline" not only doesn't work but is abusive lol like idc if it's spanking/popping them on the mouth for talking shit, slapping them across the face "on occasion", etc. shits not okay 2) hitting your kids!!!! does not work!!!!!!!! it is literally PROVEN not to work!!!!!!!! hitting a child who has done something wrong doesnt teach them to stop doing something it teaches them to be scared of you, which will cause the child to withdraw, removing part of their support system (assuming said abusive parents would even offer that up) and will most likely lead to them thinking they're a bad person, not that their actions were bad, which are two different things. so, ya know, that would clearly have an effect on a kid. like, as someone with a mother who reminds me all too much of mitsuki: I have acted like a complete shitbag and taken my anger out on people to feel better in the past because of the way my mother treated me. though it was nowhere near what bakugou did, I still know first fucking hand what a mother hitting and insulting her child will do, especially if they have no proper outlet for that (friends, a safe place to vent) which bakugou never fucking had.

theres also the fact that just talking to your kid the way mitsuki does (saying it's his fault he was kidnapped because he's weak, all while hitting him) is not??? okay?????? ive seen people arguing that this was just a joke in poor taste but like her son was KIDNAPPED and even if it was a "joke" there's literally NO WAY that would EVER?? BE FUNNY??????? she just sounds like the kind of parent who at the very least says shit without thinking that would traumatize bakugou (because being told right after being kidnapped it's your fucking fault by your mother is absolutely traumatizing) but it comes across as her being emotionally abusive.

mitsukis character as a whole comes across as a shitty mom who doesn't realize she's a shitty mom and thinks bakugou being an ass isn't at least partially her fault even though she's admitted to realizing he has always had an ego problem and doing nothing to fix it except for hitting and yelling which obviously did nothing but make him just as loud and violent as she is.

this is obviously not the entire reason why he's a dick but he was never properly taught that the shit he was doing wasn't okay and people not stopping it and/or praising him endlessly even tho he was a bully is basically the same as encouraging it, thank you very much.

moving on from that, let's talk about bakugous other traumas and how he naturally responds to them. hint: it's with either full blown panic or a fight response (verbal or physical, though usually physical. also sometimes it's the panic followed by the fight response.)

so far in bnha (keep in mind that I am not caught up, I've only read up to the beginning of the war arc and i barely remember those bits so) bakugou has...

nearly died via sludge villain (he was unable to move and was being suffocated to death- keep this in mind)

lost for the first time ever and against deku of all people (this nearly sent him into a full blown panic attack, likely because of that sexy little inferiority/superiority complex combo. think of this as like. gifted kid burnout lite. he has always been the best of the best and now suddenly he is being beaten by somebody who has always been weaker than him, which immediately makes him start thinking he was never actually that good, he's actually a fucking failure, a goddamn fraud)

won the sports festival by default (bakugou counts this as yet another failure because todoroki didnt try his best. had bakugou lost to todoroki full strength, he would've taken 2nd place with a bit of bitching, but he still wouldve taken it rather than refuse the medal as it would be a reminder that he failed. instead of accepting that like UA shouldve, the staff chained and muzzled him on live television and then had all might, his fucking idol, force the medal into his mouth. remember the sludge villain incident and how he couldnt move and was suffocating to death? yeah.)

been kidnapped because of the way he reacted to winning during the sports festival (he was aggressive and tried to refuse the medal because he felt he didnt deserve it and was then retraumatized by being chained up and muzzled. his "villainous attitude" was a fucking trauma response, do not tell me otherwise)

was then chained up once again by the LOV after being kidnapped,,, do we see the "retraumatize bkg" theme yet?

"ended all might" (he literally blames himself for all mights retirement because had he just not have been weak, all might wouldve had more time, right?)

my point with all of these is that bakugou has been severely traumatized and has then had his trauma responses (aggression, fight) used to further demonize him. not all people with trauma react the fucking same and the way the fandom just refuses to acknowledge anger as a valid form of trauma response is gross as hell.

moving away from that topic, bakugou has literally never had any actual friends, they all just used him and didn't care about him which absolutely will fuck up a kid, especially one who already has all that other shit going on. bakugou deadass never had a support system or people to help him grow as a person, let alone properly work through his fucking emotions so it's not surprising that he would take out his bullshit on the one person who tried to help him especially considering he saw dekus actions as him thinking he was weak. bakugou was raised to not seek help, he thought somebody strong shouldnt ever need it, so for somebody like deku (who bakugou percieved as weak and helpless already) to offer up help? deku must obviously think bakugou is even weaker than him, what other explanation could their possibly be!

speaking of which, there's his heaps of insecurities that he basically hid by being a twat and bullying others for most of his life. kid was so insecure he bullied deku for fucking years cause he thought deku looked down on him, thought he was better than him, etc. and that only got worse bc his idol then decided to take deku in, train him and even give him his quirk. there's probably some shit im missing but still he's got issues and always has had issues. that being said, he's actually improving and working them out now which is what makes him a really good, interesting character. it's also nice to see a character who is a dick without some tragic backstory (like his backstory is sad but its not the classic "my family was fucking slaughtered and i turned into a raging bitch who murders people" type shit) bc that rarely happens and it's like most assholes don't actually have a story like that they're just assholes lol

now lets talk improvement! lil bitch has been getting better since he got into UA and im so happy abt it!! he had a rough start what with deku suddenly having a quirk and all but like he is really improving now and it highkey shows that bakugou just mostly needed people who 1) didn't constantly praise him and actually criticized him instead 2) actually fucking punished him doing stupid shit and 3) some motherfucking friends

Since going to UA he's gotten actually feedback from teachers about his weaknesses and how to get stronger, he's lost against others, hes been told he has a shit attitude and is a dick, told he should be nicer and leave deku alone, etc etc. He hasn't gotten in trouble too much with teachers but others give him shit for what he does and aizawa has punished him too, while still acknowledging that bakugou is an amazing and dedicated student, something which no one else had done up til that point. and uh???? homie actually has friends who like,,, don't use him and also call him out when he's a dick. like specifically kirishima has done this shit and him and bakugous relationship is clearly very healthy and beneficial for the both of them. makes me feel all happy n shit, ya know

bottom line is: while it is absolutely valid to dislike or even hate bakugou because he is a massively flawed person who has been very cruel to others, villainizing him for the way he acts which in large part seems to be from a lack of guidance, a shitty mother and heavy amounts of trauma, is fucking awful. his actions cannot be fucking excused, he needs to apologize and continue to grow, but he is also a fucking teenager, who is just now being told that the way he acts is unacceptable by people who dont fucking abuse him (and I swear to god if any people who think mitsuki isnt abusive interact with this fucking post I will fullstop hardblock you, I do not fucking care) and actually treat him like a normal person instead of some prodigy child or someone who needs to be fixed.

im gonna break this up into 3 components. the way arkham is depicted, the musical aspect (because i do think that has potential), and the characters

my credentials? im autistic and am currently hyperfixating on batman, and i've been a musical theatre student at the university level for the past four years.

part 1- arkham asylum

the more i think about it the more i feel like this section should be titled 'worldbuilding'. i think that each batman movie or adaptation has its own highlight as to what separates it from the rest. the nolan movies ground absurd comic ideas. batman 2022 sort of takes advantage of the fact that its absurd and lets it be absurd, i think they've got a really very good Gotham. interestingly, i found that in joker 2019 gotham (and its citizens) reflected the real world. it highlights poverty, classism, and ableism as large issues. most importantly, i think phillips completely flipped what we see of Arkham Asylum. in the first movie, its depicted as a sort of sad place, kind of the last place you'd want to end up and it gives the impression that this is where gotham locks up the people they just dont know what to do with. the secretary man is actually really nice to arthur and there's nothing in the brief scene that indicates that police violence runs rampant here. even in the last scene when he's back in arkham, it's not violent. it's very clean, white, sterile. my question is, why would you then turn arkham into a fucking prison when you've already established that its not a prison.

part two- the musical aspect

this one might make me the most annoyed. this is where im going to stand on a pedestal. musical theatre is a very tailored craft. when you enter into the theatre world theres things you have to do in order to maintain suspension of disbelief and also keep your story organized. the number one rule of musical theatre is "if it's too much to keep talking, start singing. if it's too much to keep singing, start dancing", and the cycle repeats. the other really important thing is that in most musical theatre plays there are specific songs your want to see at specific points of the play.

usually, in a musical, near the very beginning, you want something called an "I Want" song. In Hamilton, for example, this is My Shot. He's explaining to the audience what he wants and what he's going to do to get to his goal. Then there's something called the "I Am" song, which is basically a character explaining who they are, (usually this is reserved for the villains, so that you dont empathize with them as much). Interestingly, in Hamilton, the closest thing i can find is Aaron Burr, sir, and Schuyler Sisters (though arguably neither of these are villains). But think of like Dentist from Little Shop or Poor Unfortunate Souls from Little Mermaid. Then, there's also the 1st act show stopper (One Day More from Les Mis, Bottom's Gonna Be on Top from Something Rotten, Tonight (Quintet) from West Side Story, etc), and the 11 o'clock number (Santa Fe from Newsies, Made of Stone from Hunchback, Legally Blonde from Legally Blonde).

none of these tropes show up in the movie and YES i went through the entire album on spotify.

i dont know what was going on there, funny enough, every single track on the album has a DIFFERENT producer and composer, which might explain why they're all just a different iteration of the same goddamn message with a slightly different beat. this is not a musical. these are just songs. i honestly can't figure out how they fit within arthurs character either because the movie doesnt even follow Rule 0. he starts singing at the most unorthodox moments. like the first song, for example, For Once in my Life comes WELL after meeting Harley for the first time. Why not have him sing that song on his way back to the E Wing right after meeting Harley.

here's the thing. i maintain that the movie could have gotten away with the musical aspect. the first movie makes it a point to emphasize that the music we hear is also heard by arthur, indicating that the music that's played is a reflection of his psyche. so absolutely make it a musical if you're doing a sequel, but for god's sake make it consistent. let the music tell the story, not exclusively what the characters are feeling. and if they are feeling something they need to have an arc within the song. it cant be stagnant. they really muddied the waters as to what was diegetic and what wasn't. i think it would have been really funny if we saw people like harvey dent, or the judge reacting to arthur randomly bursting into song. he's living a fantasy, we know this, let the other characters see it as well.

part 3- the characterization

im going to address the elephant in the room. stop giving dogshit, inaccurate depictions of DID. it's harmful. just. stop. bro. to quote my sibling, "why would you try to explain what's wrong with the joker". let him be a freak. dont use his trauma as an excuse for him fucking murdering people. this is where i think they should have stayed true to the last movie. arthur has a defense regardless of whether or not he's mentally ill. we know he's mentally ill. we also know he's living in abject poverty in a city with a crime rate that's insurmountable. that in an of itself is a more reasonable defense for pleading not guilty than having mental illness is. i think it would have been more effective to allow arthur to come to terms with his actions through that lens rather than through the veil that he's genuinely not guilty by "reason of insanity".

harley quinn's character was cool, that's one of the few things i liked. i liked that she lied about her upbringing, but apart from that they rlly made her the most shallow person in the movie. like fuck dude, give her some substance. why didn't she set off the bomb at the end? why didn't she like, disrupt the court, or something like give her something to do oh my god.

they did harvey dent so fucking dirty. like first off, you cast the most beautiful man. and then he does nothing. you had two-face but you gave the- AHHH. IT WAS RIGHT THERE YOU FOOLS. and i get wanting to make your own version, and i get that the joker corrupting harvey dent has already been done but then why did you put harvey dent in it. like it felt like a carrot and a stick. it went no where. also??? one of the guard's is called Bullock, but that also goes no where and oh my god the guards.

look. i'm a big fan of post-modernism. i think it's cool. i think shocking people into a state of realization can be really effective. but i also think that you shouldn't just. abruptly assault your main character. i think that if arthur, instead of being assaulted, had been violently beaten up, it would have a) paralleled the first movie and b) shown both arthur and the viewer that violence is prominent everywhere. no matter where arthur goes, he's going to be kicked while he's down. you didn't need to fucking assault him to break him.

bonus part 4- how i would have written it

it's gotham. i would have found a loophole to get arthur out on bail. i would have allowed him to interact with different parts of society. he could still meet lee, along with the people that agree with the joker, people who don't. people who fall in between. people who don't care. and then you could give each different person a different song. then, maybe shit goes down in the "second act". maybe there's a provision that screws up arthurs bail, and thats when he's locked up in arkham. the isolation and police brutality (because i do think that's an important thing to showcase) causes arthur to develop as a character and bring us to the final scene. maybe harley sets off the bomb to break him out. ALSO (and I KNOW it's a joker movie, not a batman movie), i would have tied off the batman line from the first movie. maybe the wayne trial is running concurrent with the joker trial. if you're going to have harvey dent for gods sake add in jim gordon. also??? give the little gay guy some more things to do. let him kiss other gay guys. maybe dont kill him. sorry they did that 2 u ricky r.i.p.

Today was tiring, for both you and Asra. While Asra went out to help Nadia with surveying her people, asking what they thought was an issue to be fixed, you stayed home, at the shop, running it and closing. Being left alone all day, with your thoughts and such, made you exhausted.

When Asra came home, he half expected you to be asleep at the counter, faust on your shoulders. But upon entering and seeing the shop tidy and quiet, he ventured upstairs to your shared room. What they weren’t expecting was to see you laying on the bed, curled in a ball and looking tired and sad.

“S/O? What’s wrong?” they spoke, taking off their scarf, bag and vest as well as their boots before sitting on the bed next to your curled up form.

You sighed, moving so you could sit up, your knees pulled to your chest, “Asra, am I,,I dunno, am I,, not feminine enough?”

Asra was visibly shocked at your words, putting their hands on your shoulders, “My dear, where is this coming from so suddenly? Why would you think you’re not ‘feminine’ enough?”

“My height, Asra. I’m as tall as you are, don’t you think it’s a little weird? A girl like me, as tall as her partner is-is weird!”

“Oh s/o, don’t you think like that. Just because you’re tall doesn’t mean you're any less feminine. It just means we’re the same height, and there’s nothing ‘weird’ or wrong about that,” Asra brings you into a hug, holding you close to his chest, your arms wrap around him too. “Height doesn’t define masculinity or femininity. You could be as tall as Muriel and still be just as feminie as smaller women. You’re perfect the way you are, my love.”

Smiling, you moved to kiss his cheek, “Thank you, Asra.” “Of course, my dear.” Bonus: hcs!(bc the fic kinda sucked) -Asra fucking loves you no matter what, if you wear heels that make you taller than him he swoons
