So glad you are back!!!
just wanted to bring it up that you know what I think is actually hilarious. Lucerys tools Aemonds eye out with a knife, and Corlys literally was like, āyou know what, my precious grandson is so bad ass, I am going to commission him his very own customized dagger with a gold seashell and pearl handle.ā Like Corlys gave zero fucks about Aemond and Alicents feelings bruh ļæ½ļæ½ Corlys is competing for number one Aemond hater with Daemon.
Glad to be back!
Iād like to think he had the dagger commissioned because Luke actually has experience with using one even if it was only in the heat of the moment. The fact that it was the last weapon type Luke used both swiftly and with confidence likely swayed his decision. I can picture Corlys carefully choosing to have it made because itās both familiar and much less intimidating to wield than a sword. Not even thinking that it may be perceived in poor taste by certain people.

Eve best loves Lucerys so much, she would bring him back and gave him the Olympic Gold medal if she could. I needed more scenes with Grandma Rhaenys and grandson Luke. Luke is Legend at this point.
Their relationship deserved to be explored in depth and itās such a shame it wasnāt.
The way she feels for her grandsonsā Luke especially considering heās meant to continue Corlys legacy arenāt just plain black and white. Thereās layers to be dissected. Yes there is an undeniable resentment and even shame lying beneath the surface knowing those boys arenāt of her blood. But theres also love. We see she holds a grandmotherās adoration in her heart for them which takes precedent over any hard feelings towards illegitimacy.
If anything, a lot of Rhaenys more unpleasant feelings are geared towards Rhaenyra for what she feels on her part is a total disregard for House Velaryon other than what they can do for her rather than spite for the boys. Not to mention the constant feelings of dread knowing her son just may be dead at Rhaenyraās order. Itās why she finally agrees to the betrothals during court when sheād all but rolled her eyes when Rhaenyra first proposed it.

The blacks and greens celebrating their first Thanksgiving together now that their family is complete is actually the most stressful holiday for them yet. The pressure of making sure Luke has a good time weighs so heavily on them that Rhaenyra cries when she realizes she forget to add an extra yolk to the lemon pound cake before throwing it in the oven.

Greetings, so have been loyally following the posts and blurbs about the FMN x HIPS crossover because itās so interesting and combines your wonderful writing. Might I humbly propose something similar? I was wondering about FMN and I thought to myself, hmm how can I make this worse? And wellā¦what would an FMN au look like crossed over with A Love Long Lost? Could you give us blurbs upon blurbs for this? Iām talkin reactions of characters on what Aemond did to Luke (esp Alicent and Helaena). What is life like for Aemond in the modern world now that instead of his canon self who woke up, itās a version who remembers desecrating Lukeās body? Is he FMN Aemond just dealing with a new history or is modern Aemond just the exact same as a love long lost!AEMOND, no change to speak of? Does Luke remember from the beginning and have to learn what happened to him from the internet or art/history? Or is the story more in line with FMN canon? If Aemond is more like his FMN self, does he have a chance with Luke or will there always be that fear of Aemond regressing and becoming the man who used Lukeās dead body for his own pleasure and obsession? Or is Luke just terrified of even seeing Aemond after learning what he did? Please take this what if and go zoomin
Okay, let me just say āhmm how can i make this worse?ā Is literally me anytime I open a google doc.
A love long lost!Aemond is one of my favorites because it plays into how unstable he really is. I mean, anyone whoād slaughter an entire house for no other reason than the fact that they share blood with three boys you have a grudge against (Joff didnāt even do anything mind you) isnāt all the way there mentally. Explores every deeply hidden corner of Aemondās obsession with Luke from outright anger to the badly hidden desire and even giving attention to his overwhelming need for intimacy/human connection considering that aside from Alys he never truly knew what it felt like to be desired for himself. And even then their relationship was all a ploy for power on her part.
Now, I personally donāt like the whole āevery time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin blah blah blahā mess because it takes away from the fact that theyāre not normal people. Magic literally runs through their veins, so mental illness isnāt a Targaryen trait passed from generation to generation in this instance, itās simply something pertaining only to Aemond. Certain circumstances such as being marked as āotherā from his brother and nephews due to being dragon less, having an overbearing mother who leans on you to fill the role of certain relationships she lacks due to being a sold off child bride who lives off of resentment, losing his eye and seeing how little his own father did to punish or at the very least give a stern scolding to the one who did it. Itās the perfect recipe in creating a man whoād so easily break after taking a life for the first time. The life of the one person his existence had circled around for years at that.
One thing about FMN is that it plays off every characters past. For instance, HIPS X FMN crossover would feature an Aemond who while is remorseful, still carries the need to āget back whats his.ā in a way due to both his biology and the way prime alphas are socialized. He still holds onto the idea that both Luke and Osferth belong to him despite the circumstances. So things would be definitely prove the same for a love long lost! Aemond. Especially considering how we have a degree of mental instability playing into his actions.
Does regret or remorse for violating Lukeās corpse come to be because of his exposure to this new world? Not at all. In Aemondās mind Luke belongs to him in both life and death regardless of circumstance and has so ever since Luke took his eye. Itās a debt that time will never be able to repay, a rope tying them together for eternity. And everyone being reborn into this new millennia only assures Aemond that fate is going to reunite him with his love. ļæ¼
Aemond not only remembers his actions fondly, but becomes enamored with how history regards him. Has pride in his love being so deep that others get queasy at the mention of it. Iād even say his education as well as pride in his work as an archivist makes even more sense here as itās fueled by the want to constantly surround himself with nostalgia. Itās unhealthy yet no one around him (his own family cause the blacks have several restraining orders) feels comfortable enough to pull him out of that festering hole out of both love and fear. Especially Alicent considering sheās the only one who lived to see what her son became. Had to sit across from Lukeās mummified body year after year. Covering her ears at night as she knew her son was intimate with a corpse. Her love as a mother and her disgust as a decent human being are constantly fighting a losing battle because while both are strong, neither can overwhelm the other.
Aegon canāt stand it but stays and tries his best to ignore how far gone his brother is mostly because he feels this mess his fault in part. That his bullying + public humiliation (brothel scene from s2 is a prime example) led to Ameond becoming such a broken man. Though i will say Aegon is the one person who makes it known that Aemond needs help rather than coddling.
Surprisingly enough, Hel is one person who doesnāt walk on egg shells or pretend things are normal. Instead she talks with him about Luke, how it felt to be with the one he loved even if it was just a cold shell. She connects with her brother because he was once the only person she felt close enough with to be herself before Lukeās death changed him for the worst.
We can also make note that Hel once felt outcast for being ācreepyā and āoddā herself and therefore forms a connection. Although being autistic coded with an interest in bugs is nothing like being an ill necrophile, there was once a certain mold you had to shape yourself into if you were to be welcomed by others and Hel never fit it. Paired with her dreams and constant episodes of talking to herself creates a bridge between her and Aemond.
As for Lukeā¦ I donāt like to imagine him having had such a terrible coming up simply because it would be far too overwhelming. I imagine him growing up in stable foster homes. Good fosters who while lower class do provide love and protection as well as a decent education. It lays the groundwork for being able to see red flags in a man and run rather than go in deeper for the thrill of it.
Considering this incident would be very notorious history involving this house (coming in third behind Roberts rebellion and Dany retaking the throne) its a very well known fact which Luke already has some minor knowledge about. Because of this It would take a lot for him to even give a man who has such an outward obsession with a skin crawling event the time of day. This ofc leads to Aemond doing his best to not come off as a total creep. Stopping himself from smelling Lukeās hair or running fingers across his pulse point to feel the blood pumping. He puts on a mask, one of a normal guy who just so happens to study odd history.
Their relationship would not only have to be a well-kept secret as to avoid the blacks finding out that Aemondās been in contact with Luke, Alicent and Aegon telling Luke to run for the hills, but also keep from scaring Luke away too soon. However, once Luke recovers his memories their relationship would be over from then on out. The fact that Aemond not only did what he did but feels no guilt and even remembers their past life as āhusband and wifeā fondly is terrifying.
I must say that this crossover would 9/10 end in tragedy.

ārhaenys makes the decision to turn back and face aemond [...]. it goes way back to S1, to her decision not to toast the greens when she could have, and to the deĪ±Ļh of her grandson, luke velaryon, at the hands of this very beast. she has to go back in.ā -Alan Taylor
I want to believe that she went back to fight Vhagar because she realized that not killing the Greens led to the death of Lucerys, her Grandson. Even though Rhaenys may not have been warm, she no doubt did love those boys.
Rhaenys loved her grandsons in her own way. It wasnāt warm nor was it the kind of love which was screamed from the rooftops, but it was there and Iāll die on that hill.
There are a dozen and one factors which caused Rhaenysā love for the boys to manifest as it did in my opinion; Shame for having forced her son into a het marriage despite having a partner he loved and the heavy taboos concerning bastardy being the main contenders. It created a sense of guilt for the hardships she put her son through as well as guilt for unintentionally having a hand in three boys being born into a society that sees their mere existence as a sin against nature. And seeing how much Laenor loved those boys despite them not being his by blood probably led to a lot of self-reflection met with roadblocks caused by an entire lifetime of prejudices.ļæ¼
R.I.P to the queen who should have been. Hopefully you and Lucerys get a chance to build a better relationship after beating Jaehaerysā ass in the Targ afterlife

Grandpa Corlys not wanting anyone else to be his heir, just Luke. He never even thought about what would happen if Luke passed and who would take after him in case of anything, it was only Luke. In his mind he couldnāt fathom anything happening to his Pearl. I donāt even think heās fully accepted that Luke is even gone. Cause he hasnāt even thought about who his next heir will be.
**grabbing boxes of tissues** my baby needs to come back and haunt Aemonds ass. I need Aemond groveling on the floor, and throwing up because he took team blacks most precious treasure.
And thatās just true love right there isnāt it? Nothing but loyal to his grandson despite Luke being gone and their circumstances being so dire.
While we all know that Luke had many insecurities over his ability to take over Driftmark considering his sea-sickness, lack of swordsmanship and even paternity, Corlys never cared about any of that. It didnāt matter that Luke couldnāt handle being out at seaā he didnāt give a damn that his heir didnāt look like him, and he most certainly didnāt care about what anyone may have had to say on the matter including his very on brother. Luke was his grandson, the boy who was born to inherit the sea just as Jace was born to inherit the Iron throne. I can just imagine Corlys holding a newly born Luke who was tiny enough to carry in one arm as Laenor tells his father that this little boy will be their legacy.

Jace mimicking Daemons stance as āRhaenyra says āno,āā to him. Jace is so Daemon coded I swear.
Jace is definitely Daemon coded. When someone on twt pointed out heās his stepfatherās mini-me to the point where they even have the same stance I grinned so damn hard my cheeks started to hurt. Daemon raised those boys like his own and it shows in the most subtle ways.
But can we also take a moment to point out how Daemon being a role model for both Jace and Aemond affects the way these two present themselves to the world? To Jace Daemon is not only a worrier but a man whose intellect and wit are more than worth learning from. The sort of man who when he speaks you listen because knowledge will certainly be dropped even if itās hidden in-between petty insults. Jace wants to learn as much as he can from Daemon and apply those teachings as he journeys to become his own man, not actually be him.
On the other hand Daemon is someone Aemond wants to mirror exactly. A full blooded Targaryen whoās seen real battle first-hand and made it out victorious with more than a few scars. Thereās always an air of confidence surrounding Daemon to the point where most may think him arrogant yet he wears it so well. Aemond tries to mimic that from what little heās been able to pick up on what few occasions they were in the same room but it just comes off as a little boy trying to play dress up. Itās gotten to the point where instead of being upset or even frightened, heās geeked about Daemon sending two men to behead him because in his mind thats a sign heās worthy of Daemonās rage.

Did you see Joffrey throw Luke's toy into the fire?
Ugh, donāt remind me anon š
This scene actually broke my heart into a million pieces and its not even funny. Personally, I feel this just puts into perspective how close all three of these boys really were if the youngest of them not only knew how dearly Luke mustāve held that figurine to his heart, but going out of his way to find and make sure they burned it so perhaps itād be with his big brother on the other side.
Donāt even get me started on how heart broken Rhaena looked. Lukeās funeral truly does a great job of reminding us why this family has a right to want Aemond 6 feet under.

Is the second season going to change anything you proposed for FMN?
As of yet, not at all. Iām not a big enough fan of the shows changes thus far to actually add any of it to the FMN verse. While Alicole is for sure interesting to watch play out, them having had an affair simply doesnāt match up to the version of Alicent Iāve developed. Same goes for how blood and cheese was actually an āaccidentā as well as the alleged meet up Nyra and Ali are supposed to have in the next episode according to the leaks.
My answer may change as the season continues on but so far itās not enough to turn the tides.

Aemond caring and regretting Lukeās death more than his nephew Jaeherys who was just killed is justā¦.Luke is working overtime haunting that narrative.
Antiās called us crazy when we insisted that Lucerys was important. They said we were delusional, that we were living off headcanonās, but look at us now. Two episodes into an eight episode season and Luke has been mentioned more often than some living characters. Our boy is truly haunting the narrative and I couldnāt be more proud.
All that aside I think we need to come together to find whatever Lucemond secretly scored a job pitching ideas in that writing room. Aemondās buck naked in the arms of the sex worker he more than likely just got off on and yet Luke is the person on his mind? *chefās kiss*

Are you going to mention Alys Rivers on FMN?
Technically Alys has been mentioned in passing through some of Aemondās internal monologue a few chapters back. However, thatās not the last weāll be hearing of her considering she does have her own role to play..

in FMN if people are starting to know about Luke's existence with the Lannisters, will it be something important? I mean, will the media be some kind of obstacle or annoyance?
Oh most definitely. Media in the FMN verse are about as bad as paparazzi were in the late 90s/early 2000s and theyāll eat up anything involving members of the great houses. If certain people were to catch wind of Lukeās existence and in turn find out about his current case (something Alicent is doing everything she can to keep as quiet as possible considering the circumstances) the whole family would without a doubt get the Britney spears circa 2007 treatment. Not to mention that people from Lukeās past would easily be able to keep up with himā good and bad alike.
Sadly, this possibility is increasing by the day since last chapter weāve seen that people at the kids school are starting to talk.
