Ik a lot of people struggle to give characters random traits but fear not! here's my list of go to questions

1. Would they pee in a pool/lake/ocean/while swimming?

how comfortable are they around others? how conscious are they of germs? is it unhygienic to them in some situations but not others?

2. Can they build a fence?

look, the ikea furniture question will always be funny, but everything is pre-packaged and the instructions clearly labeled whether you read then or not. now, a fence??? would they seek how the materials, ask for help, do research a head of time? there's so much that goes into a project like this

3. What does their sink look like?

this goes hand in hand with what colour us their tupperware and how often they empty the dishwasher.

4. What does under their bed look like?

is it a mystery pit of lost items only to be found on the offchance its explored or is it a pristine organized storage facility for vacuumed sealed winter outfits??? what's under there!!!!!!

5. Can they use public bathrooms?

for obvious reasons but also did you ever know those people who could poop at school with the confidence of a God? yeah.

6. How often do they wash their hands?

also self explanatory but do they carry their own soap? lotion? how dry is their skin? how cracked are their nails? is there dirt under there? do they even think about it???

7. Do they wear shoes in the house? Do they wear shoes outside?

controversial question that went around that one time but people's footwear habits speak volumes!!!!! fuck your socks and slides are they feeling dirt between their toes yes or no????

8. Do they have any mild allergies?

Serious ones are important and life altering but my favorite are the ones that aren't life threatening and are just mildly inconvenient. How are they coping during spring? How's that dust looking? Is there a fruit they say is "spicy" and had no idea that means they're allergic to it? (looking @ you, apples)

9. Would they fall for an email/phone scam?

I don't care how cool they look covered in blood, would they fall for a phishing scam????

10. The check engine light is on. What do they do?

knowing how to change your tires is important. understanding that rotating your tires doesn't mean spinning them is also important. MORE importantly is how long they ignore a problem until its too fucking late

11. How soon would they take an ibuprofen?

do they believe they deserve to suffer y/n

Something Something Avatar The Last Airbender was fundamentally about showing the horrible long-lasting effects of both war and violence in a grand sense (the way people suffer under fire nation occupation including the air nomad genocide and the state of the southern water tribe) but also a personal sense (zukos entire arch) and the show goes to great lengths to avoid glorifying war, often specifically choosing only depict the aftermath of terrible violence while not graphically depicting the violence itself.

And I think it's a profound misunderstanding, maybe even an insult to the source text to continually depict gratuitous death and violence as a focal point of the live action.

Simon and Tommy had a complicated relationship as brothers. 

At a young age, Simon basically wrote himself off as a lost cause, and did the best he could to make sure at least Tommy had a chance to be a functioning human being. After all, Tommy was the gentler brother, the dreamer, the one who looked like their mother (who'd walked out on them years ago to escape their father). But Tommy got bitter, got sick of the one always being protected, being babied. He lost respect for Simon, for the way he wouldn't fight back, and in a twisted way, grew closer to his father as a way to learn how to be powerful, strong. It backfired, and Tommy got wrapped up in some bad business.

Simon's kid brother died while he was deployed. He got the news in the letter, and it broke him in a big way. In the story timeline, it was years and years ago but it still hurts like hell whenever Simon thinks about him.

one thing im noticing abt ‘i saw the tv glow’ at the very beginning is how beautiful it is that maddy loves tara so much. that she says tara is super hot and badass and how she cries when tara beats the shit out of the monster of the week. how she loves this version of herself so much and she does not yet understand that it is her.

So I know some of the more current theories is that Stan didn’t need glasses until he was much older or that he only wears them to look more like Ford, but can I offer:

• Stan needed glasses around the same time Ford did as a child, but Filbrick wouldn’t budget for them because “he wouldn’t use them anyway” or “he would just break them”

• This is the real reason Stan always copied off of Ford. Because his brother’s desk was closer than the chalkboard and therefore easier to see.

• Additionally, Stan didn’t want to admit that he needed glasses and his family (supposedly) couldn’t afford them, so he quickly just embraced the “slacker” persona

• When Ford disappears into the portal, Stan finds an old pair of his glasses and tries them on out of curiosity. They aren’t a perfect match to his prescription, but the difference is enough that he either keeps wearing them or scrounges up enough money from the Murder Hut to get his own.

• This made reading the journals a little easier for him until he realized that he actually retained a lot of that information he’d copied from Ford. Had he had the resources and support to continue his education, he probably would have done quite well if he only had some glasses

sua's such an under analyzed character but her mentality and presentation is really interesting!! to others (besides mizi), she appears reserved (very demure. very mindful) / cold but she's genuinely going through constant inner turmoil.

growing up, she was literally used as a commodity by her guardian. she's bullied by her sisters for being the guardian nigeh's favorite, but it's really only because she makes the most money. even after death, her guardian doesn't care that sua's gone, they're more concerned with the popularity and revenue that her fandom brings.

to the segyein, sua's essentially a doll and an ideal pet human. she's a top student at anakt, aka she sticks to a routine and acts easily brainwashed. when asked about her study habits, she just says "it's not really that hard... you just have to memorize what they teach you."

her objectification by others strips her of her identity and livelihood. it definitely plagues her perception of self worth/value, and manifests in her behavior (being quiet/not taking up much space, jealousy, apologizing often, being defensive - more on that later)

^ i think this whisper sums up her situation pretty well. her circumstances and the way she presents herself affects her relationships in anakt a ton if that makes sense ?

when sua meets mizi, such a vibrant, lively, and loving person, her focus and dare i say will to live completely shifts to mizi. in mizi's eyes, sua is seen as mizi's soulmate, someone she'll be with forever. someone who's always there for her. synergyyyy

although sua's feelings are mutual, she carries a level of self doubt and anxiety with her. sua believed her love for mizi would harm her in the end. she's stated before (EXPLICITLY) that she would die for mizi, and she does end up doing this in the form of sacrifice in round 1.

it's almost as if sua feels guilty for loving mizi. she knows they're doomed, and with their limited time, why should she be focused on? is it selfish of her to not tell mizi of their inevitable fate to live in their dream a little longer?

^ the lyrics of sweet dream can also serve as her mentality and point of view leading up to alien stage. she knows the idyllic world she's in is temporary, knowing her end is imminent yet praying to be saved.

although mizi views sua in a tinted lens, the other characters do not. at least, not in the affectionate sense. to till, sua's demeanor is offputting and uncomfortable

to ivan, he sees straight through to suas actions and (maybe unintentionally but i doubt it) exacerbates her doubts. he has his own events going on and genuinely does seem to want to be close to sua (graduation message + human relationship rating) but interacts in a way that makes her feel threatened. (in addition "he keeps crossing the line" in the relationship chart)

to the outside viewer its interesting to note sua often pulls mizi away from people. she pulls mizi away from ivan, and pulls mizi's attention from till to her in a short act of jealousy.
