Apparently a hot take but i really think that authors,artists,game developers, etc shouldn't be TOO involved with the fandom surrounding what they created. By all means interact with it as much as you want, but i feel like if you try to insert yourself too much in a fandom space you're bound to see things that you dont like.

I see this with one fandom im in where the creators were way too involved and it led to them getting some really bizzare parasocial fans (wich can happen to anyone but specially if ur too involved in your fandom) but also to them trying to control every single thing their fandom posts.

You as a creator ARE allowed to be uncomfortable with certain fanmade content, but you cannot make a fandom of thousands of people on multiple different websites only post sanitized content that you fully agree with. You can ask them to not show that kind of content to you, but you cannot stop it from being made.

There will always be sometimes that you dont like on the Internet and no matter how much it makes you uncomfortable, you cannot stop those who make those contents and its also not right to harrass them or send others to do so, best i can tell you to do is block and move on.
